Pennsylvania Compare And Contrast Essay
From the Southwest to the Northeast There are many similarities between all of the fifty United
States, however there are also many differences. This is especially true when comparing the states
of New Mexico and Pennsylvania. Although these two states have many differences, it is clear to
see through scenery, food, and tourism, they may be a little more similar than meets the eye. The
United Statesis known for being a place of great beauty. Whether it is found in the lushly forested
rolling mountains of the Northeast, the snow capped Rockies of the West, the arid deserts of the
Southwest, or the seashell covered beaches along the Coasts, there are numerous reasons the
country is known as America the Beautiful . Both New Mexico and Pennsylvania... Show more

They are made from a Navajo Fry Bread, which is a type of bread made from deep frying a
special dough, and filled with traditional taco fillings such as, meat, cheese, vegetables, and sour

Ans. Fingerprints were used since 18th century as a mode of identification from one individual to

some of them.

Selcting an Approach for a Qualitative Research Plan Essay
Selecting an Approach for a Qualitative Research Plan
Creswell (2013) contends that we need to identify our approach to qualitative inquiry in order to
present it as a sophisticated study, to offer it as a specific type so that reviewers can properly
assess it, and...to offer some way of organizing ideas that can be grounded in the scholarly literature
of qualitative research (p. 69). Although I believe all three arguments cited by the author are
important, this week s readings and discussion emphasized the third reason in particular. Indeed,
reviewing the five approaches provided me with ideas regarding how to investigate and explore the
topic. Although I am still struggling with some of the details and aspects, a rough framework is ...

Through interviews and extensive data analysis the phenomenological study will aim to
summarize what the individuals have experienced and how they have experienced it to arrive at
the essence of the issue under investigation (Moustakas, 1994 as cited by Creswell, 2013, p. 79).
Given the issue, transcendental phenomenology appears to be a desirable approach to gain a better
understanding of the issue due to bracketing and its aim at perceiving a phenomenon new, fresh,
and for the first time (Creswell, 2013, p. 80).
Conducting a case study appears equally appropriate. Since case studies consist of qualitative
approaches in which the investigator explores a real life, contemporary bounded system or
multiple systems over time, through detailed, in depth data collection involving multiple sources
of information, and reports a case description and case themes one could emphasize the changes in
democratic participation as well as the motivators (Creswell, 2013, p. 97). Furthermore, case
studies provide a wide array of approaches, including both quantitative and qualitative elements as
well as explanatory, exploratory, and descriptive directions that could be used to investigate the
proposed question (Creswell, 2013). Case selection would be purposeful, probably focusing on one
to five NGOs engaging with the government to influence public policy and the people involved

Globe Theatre Vs American Theatre Essay
1.0. Introduction
Whether it be buildings, marketplaces, transport, religious or political edifices the debate as to
whether history changes are ongoing. Often people believe that history is always changing, but is
that the case? The study of history can be perceived as constantly evolving, never ending journey
of discovery (Ponic, 2011). A comparison between Shakespeare s original Globe Theatre and
Sydney Opera House provides a good example of this. Both Amphitheatres were used similarly and
both in different time periods. The following report will critically analyse the impact history has had
on today s society by comparing two buildings that were and are used for similar activities.
2.0. Theatres
Theatres are generally described as a building, part of a building, or outdoor area for housing
dramatic presentations, stage entertainers, or motion picture shows (Dictonary.com, 2017).
Throughout time theatres have been used for different things. For example, the historical Globe
was primarily used for plays whereas the Sydney Opera House while used for plays, also hosts
musical productions, opera and symphony concerts. One simply goes to theatre to watch a
performance, a form of entertainment.

The Portrayal Of The Young Black Men And Public Space
Imagine being wrongfully persecuted and mistreated based on assumptions painted by society.
The portrayal of the young black male in the late 1980s has not changed much in the United
States. Brent Staples is able to reveal the truths of racial stereotyping in the United States, and
the stigmas placed on young black males with the use of imagery in Black Men and Public
Space. Appealing to the readers senses allows for better understanding of the time period Staples
is writing about. Visual imagery is used to contrast how Staples appears to his victims and how
these victims appear to the public. The fear the general public has of black males is exposed by
appealing to the auditory senses. Non verbal reactions and body language of those around
Staples uncovers their true sentiment towards black males. Imagery is an essential tool in
uncovering the racism and stigmatization of black males in the United States. Appealing to ones
senses is a very effective way to bring depth and meaning to a message. The text begins by
setting the scene with a description of where Staples interacted with his first victim. Staples

impoverished area. This may have been his first mistake, as a young black male at, a broad six

so many strengths that include the vocabulary plus the mix of long and short sentences. I honestly
think that there are no weaknesses for the book because the usage of vocabulary and the idea of the

Differences Between Language And Communication
Language. What exactly is it? We use it every day to communicate with people around us from a
very early age. As we walk around and take in the world around us we notice some people
communicating differently. Their words don t sound like ours, yet they are able to function the
same way we do and complete the same tasks. Stated on dictionary.com language is a body of
words of words and the systems for their use common to a people who are of the same community
or nation, the same geographical area, or the same cultural tradition. From this definition, we can
see that language can have many different variations. Variations can be in the same language or
different languages. Variations in languages can be accents, pronunciations, dialects, and grammar
(Language). For example, in America, and in the United Kingdom we speak English, but our
accents, pronunciations, and even word usage is very different. This speaking communication is
known as linguistic So, How is it that language has developed? Before communication between
humans became linguistic it was first just nonverbal movements like different facial expressions,
gestures, and noises known as non linguistic communication (Pereltsvaig 1). According to
Professor J.F Stein from the physiology department at Oxford University Language is a relatively
new thing and only developed about 50,000 years ago (131). So basically, humans were very
successful at surviving even when they weren t able to verbally address things. This

Persuasive Essay On Cardiovascular Disease
Why I Chose My Topic Men are generally at greater risk of cardiovascular disease but that does
not mean women are not affected by this deadly disease as well. This topic sparked an interest in
me because women should be aware and learn about the risk factors for developing heart disease.
Many women are not well informed or proactive in preventing or controlling cardiovascular
diseases that may arise in the future due to the choices of today. People have little to no control
over some risk factors such as family history and age that can affect women and it is crucial to
have precaution before it becomes a problem. There are numerous of ways to diminish the chances
but many women do not have access or the correct resources to learn about them. For those who
already have a cardiovascular disease, it may be hard to adjust to ways of controlling it or may not
know how to properly control it yet. Maybe the way the person is controlling it is not the best
option for them and should seek for proper guidance. The problem is really what or where can
these women find the proper guidance that they desire, or what exactly is the proper guidance for
them. Prevention and control of cardiovascular disease among women should be talked about
more. It is important to have the knowledge and protect ourselves from something that can be
prevented if we follow the right steps to reduce our chances of cardiovascular disease.

The Positive Effects Of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) become more popular every day. No one doubts that their
usage can bring a lot of benefits in various spheres. The focus of the article would be on positive
effects of drones acceptance in business. Adoption of this technology leads industries to an
entirely new level of production. It is crucial for entities to realize the potential and advantages
of usage of UAVs ASAP. The historical context can explain the mega trends in the issue of
UAVs. First drones were designed and used primarily for military purposes since 1950 s and
even earlier. For instance, the U.S. and France worked on the development of unmanned
airplanes during the World War I. Then army started to use drones for delivering messages,
intelligence and bombing attacks (Calder). Such vehicles can perform dozens of missions
without risking a life of pilots. Moreover, drones became smaller and more maneuver. They
complete actions that were impossible before. Besides the army, UAVs become more commonly
used for civilian purposes. Drones with artificial intelligence can provide surveillance videos and
aerial data from different places and heights. Furthermore, they can make a report on any activity
from the air. It opens new horizons in building industry. Companies can use drones for making
aerial pictures and analyzing data about the constructing process. The start up Kespry already uses
UAVs for earthworks projects, mine planning. It also assists insurance firms. The drones

Roots Movie Analysis
Roots, the movie or series, is closely based on Alex Haley s novel about his ancestors from

from Gambia, West Africa who has been captured and kidnapped by slave raiders. He reluctantly
goes from being surrounded by loving family and friends to being forced into slavery half way

Fanta and his family again. This movie is very deep and difficult to watch because it forces me
reflect on how badly Africans and African Americans have been treated, but it also makes me
proud that things are better. I believe that this movie is historically accurate because the
portrayal of the conditions on the ship was as badly as they were during slavery. I feel this
movie accurately depicts life as an African slave and how hard it is to let go of everything
someone has learned and conform to a new identity. I believe the movie explains all points of
perception from the slaves point of view to the slave owners to the capturers and even the captain
of the ship s experience. Although the movie is dramatized, it is very believable. I would rate this
movie an 8.5 so far because I haven t had the chance to see the whole thing. I am intrigued to see

Everything ranging from education, religion to the media usually affects the individual s point of

through open mindedness and awareness. At a first glance, the Ancient philosophies appear
irrelevant to the contemporary times, but by media analysis and personal revelation, it is the
modern thought backbone. Fundamentally, Human perception shall be at most times limited. To
experience nature entirely one must take into consideration all the idols that hide them that

Was Rockefeller A Robber Baron Or A Captain Of Industry
John D. Rockefeller: Robber Baron or Captain of Industry? John D. Rockefeller could be thought
of as both a robber baron and a captain of industry because he did many things throughout his
career that would make you believe this. In my opinion, Rockefeller was more of a captain of
industry because he did a lot of philanthropic work after his retirement from the oil business.
Although, he did use illegal and very unethical tactics in order to gain his wealth, and he
completely ran his competitors out of business. He would do anything to gain more fortune for

Establishment Republicans Are Not Sniggering
Establishment Republicans are not sniggering at Donald Trump s antics anymore, especially as
he threatens to go solo in November if party insiders scheme to deny him the nomination. Echoes
of similarly irate conservative Teddy Roosevelt and his Bull Moose party sinking the
Republican (GOP) national campaign in 1912 get louder every time Trump wins a primary
state. After the real estate mogul announced his candidacy in June last year, party leaders
contentedly sat back in the peanut gallery ridiculing his naked attempts at demagoguery. Later,
they dismissed Trump s surging poll numbers as an electoral blip sparked by fringe sections of
the party base that loathed the GOP s handling of Congress. Moreover, they believed Trump s
novelty act as the outsider would soon wear out and make GOP voters collectively come to their
senses and coalesce behind either Marco Rubio or Jeb Bush, the party s blue eyed boys. This
cocksure feeling has now given way to one of dread as Trump keeps notching victories in the
primary season. A new Rasmussen poll puts Trump 15 points clear of closest rival Ted Cruz.
More worryingly, 24% of Trump s base will very likely vote for him if he runs as an independent,
effectively torching GOP hopes of preventing a Democratic three peat in the White House.
Republican rivals have tried ganging up on Trump in debates, running attack ads to discredit him
but nothing really stuck so the establishment is changing tack. Influential leaders of the conservative

Women s Exploitation Of Women
The exploitation of women in production, and the exclusion of women from consumption is not
the only ways in which the female body is harmed as a result of the globalization of the fashion
industry. Perhaps the most obvious occurrence of female body harm in the fashion industry is a
result of fashion modeling. An up close look into the modeling industry as a microcosm of the
fashion industry reveals the severe objectification and commodification of fashion models for the
sake of consumption.
The modeling industry has created a culture of exclusion across genders and races. Author Ashley
Mears (2010) critically analyses the fashion industry, and how it influences production of culture
and beauty ideals around the world. The modeling world is extremely female dominated, and the
women who participate are continually commodified as they are used as a means to promote and
disseminate ideas of how women should look, (p. 23). Because consumption is valued so in today s
society, the model is employed based on her perceived ability to sell a product. The clothes she is
hired to wear and the beauty ideal that she is helping sell are more important than her humanity,
and she becomes dehumanized. Clothes take on such utmost importance that models are and
should be mere clothes hangers, with perfectly discrete bodies that will display the clothes but not
detract from them, (Mears, 2010, p. 35). Models are blatantly objectified as they are forced be

Carl Sandburg Grass Analysis
As the wind screams in anger and the bodies lay motionless on the cold hard ground, grass does
it job. In the poem Grass by Carl Sandburg we see the disillusionment and the ignorance of people
towards the isolation of death and grass. It is traditional for the grass to cover the dead bodies. It
is what you do at a funeral. Isolated from people, grass and deathsit and do their jobs. I am the
grass./ Let me work. (lines 10 11) no matter if it is alone or surrounded by people grass grows
and does its job. When you Shovel them under me (Line 2) , that is when grass does it work.
The pain and grief from all those dead bodies, that sight must have been horrendous. To erase that
memory from your mind would be like a wine stain on a white carpet. Yes, there are stories but no

Death is too much to handle for most people, sometimes it can rip a family apart. To take away
this sadness grass hides and disguises death with a layer of dirt and a thin layer of green blades
on the top. Will people realize that history is repeating itself and the ending is just more death
and more sadness? Bodies pile up and are then covered by grass it is a repeating process in
history and no one is learning their lesson. When the grass grows over the bodies it disguises the

Social Norms Of Voting Case Study
On a micro level, this issue affects the lives of convicted felons who currently do not have the
right to vote. Social acceptance for felons voting would allow the criminal s voice to be heard as
they can vote for who they want without relying on others to support their causes. Also, being able
to participate in the social norm of votingwould help the felon better acclimate into acceptable
rather than deviant behaviors. There are also macro level consequences. With this increase of
voters, states have the potential to swing voting results from current trends impacting campaigns
and what issues make it on the ballots. Also, voters who have already violated society with their
deviant act have the potential to change social norms and alter the

Aschenputtel Character Traits
Character Analysis Essay Most of the time our life doesn t have a huge happy ending. Well in
Aschenputtel s case it does. In the Grimm brothers Aschenputtel, a girl, is forced to do grunt
work by her step family. One day there was a ball which was a chance for the prince to pick a
wife. The evil stepmother and step daughters went to the ball while aschenputtel finished up her
chores. Aschenputtel s trusty doves helped her out and gave her a beautiful dress and shoes to
wear at the ball. When Aschenputtel entered the ball no one recognized her. She and the prince
danced all night long. After going to the ball three times, the prince took quite a liking to her. While
aschenputtel was running back home she lost one of her golden slippers. As the prince went around

order for Risperdal Tablet to work correctly, the tablet should be taken as prescribed by the
doctor which is usually on a daily basis. The injectable form which is known as Risperdal Consta
is often given every 2 week in the upper arm or buttocks. Risperidone Tablets and solutions are
taken 1 to 2 times a day. Food does not affect the absorption rate of the effectiveness of the
medication thus, it can be taken with or without food. The dose can be taken with or without
food. When an individual begins taking this medication, they often start at a low dose and
slowly increase over a couple of weeks if needed. The oral dose usually ranges 1mg to 6mg. The
injectable dose can range from 12.5mg to 50mg. With the orally disintegrating tablets, the tablet
will dissolve within a few seconds. When taking Risperdal, alcohol and illicit drug use should be
avoided. The reason for this is because it can decrease the effects of the medication and increase
adverse effects such as sedation.

Parkinson s Disease As A Medical Condition
Parkinson s disease is one of the few diseases that have been around since ancient times. In the
ancient Indian medical system of Ayurveda this disease was referred to as Kampavata. In AD
175 the physician, Galen of the western medical literature referred Parkinson s disease as
shaking palsy . It was not until 1817 that a detailed medical essay was published on the subject
by London doctor, James Parkinson. The publication was titled An Essay on the Shaking Palsy .
This officially established Parkinson s disease as a medical condition. The essay was based on six
cases he observed in his own practice and on walks around his neighborhood. The essay was to

Persuasive Speech About Weight
Have you exhausted yourself trying to lose that extra weight? Have you gone on every diet and
bought every gimmick that other women have had success with to no avail? Losing weight is just
more difficult for some of us than others, which can be discouraging But if you figure out WHY
this is occurring, well, then you can change it.
First of all, think about your habits and the foods you consume. Are you a smoker, dependent
upon caffeine, or binge drink a few nights a week? Are the majority of your meals prepackaged
foods, I m even talking about those alleged diet meals , that you can just heat up and go? Do you
usually base your meals around foods that have been previously prepared (I m talking soups,
pizzas, cereal, chips, etc.)? Even if you choose the low fat versions of these processed foods, it s
not positively a healthful choice.
The issue with these habits, is that they are not NATURAL. You can t allow all of these alien, and
even detrimental substances in your body, and assume it will perform optimally. The nicotine,
caffeine, alcohol, food preservatives, and additives are in no way shape or form good for us. In
point of fact, they are very damaging. Stop and consider the numerous people now a days that
live with or even die of disease? Medicine and science are advancing, yet people are getting more
diseased and debilitated. It does not make much sense until we scrutinize the foods we eat. Ninety

The Cuisine Of Hokkaido, Japan
1.0 Introduction
1.1 Introduction
This report introduces the regional cuisine of Hokkaido, Japan. The food of Hokkaido is well
known worldwide because of its high quality and freshness of seafood. Hokkaido also produces
dominant amounts of Japan s meat, wheat and dairy so its cuisine is not just a thing entirely apart
from the rest of Japan s. There are many regional cuisine in Hokkaido including Genghis Khan
barbecue, Hokkaido ramen, Ishikari nabe and so on. Through my research, I find that there are
many different cooking methods that people in Hokkaido use. For example, originally, Genghis
Khan barbecue only focuses on burning and roast lamb and mutton. With more and more southern
Japanese into Hokkaido, the sauce and vegetables are gradually brought into the cuisine to adjust
taste. I also find these cooking methods are interesting, and would like to learn more about the
Hokkaido cuisine.

other countries arrived at Hokkaido but they were not allowed to enter. After 1869, the Meiji
government allowed people from other parts of Japan to immigrate to Hokkaido. These people

Describe two complication of Acute Myocardial Infarction. (2 marks)
One of the complications of an acute MI is Left Ventricular Aneurysm (LVA) which is a localized
area of myocardium with abnormal outward bulging and deformation during systole and diastole.
The epidemiology occurs in 10 30% of patients after an acute MI (American Heart Association
2015). The risk factors include total occlusion of the LAD artery, females and an anterior MI. To
prevent this, early revascularization is needed. The LVAs usually range from 1 8 cm.
Pericarditis is another complication of acute MI. The incidence of early pericarditis after a MI is
about 10% (American Heart Association 2015). This is caused by the inflammation of pericardial
tissue which overlies infarcted myocardium. Clinically a patient can present with severe pleuritic
chest pain and pericardial friction rub. Pericarditis usually develops between 24 and 96 hours after
an acute MI. The treatment of this complication is with anti inflammatory drugs and analgesia

Cardiovascular Health And Endothelial Function
According to Simmons and Brown (2013), the sedentary lifestyle is one of the 5 major risk
factors for cardiovascular disease and causing over 3 million deaths each year in worldwide. In the
past 10 decades, there are numerous scientific reports pointed out the relationships between
cardiovascular health and physical activities. Based on the US Surgeon General s report on
Physical Activity and Health (1997), evidence from this report shows that more active individual
tends to develop less coronary heartdisease (CHD) than sedentary counterparts. Therefore, regular
activities have been proved to have a positive effect on many of established risk factors for
cardiovascular disease. This essay, firstly, will delineate the relationship between cardiovascular
health and endothelial function. And follow by discussing how physical activities benefit
cardiovascular health and endothelial function.
The endothelium is a type of epithelium that lies on the interior surface of lymphatic vessels and

cells have different functions, such as helps to regulate blood clotting, maintain the vascular

Corporate Tax And Corporate Income Tax
Introduction I believe that there should be corporate income tax, as it acts as a user fee for the
special privileges (Rosen, Ch 19) corporations receive. The corporate income tax is a separate tax
on corporate income, in which varies in a bracket between ten percent and thirty five percent. The
effective corporate income taxrate is estimated at thirty two percent, and eighteen percent for non
corporations. Workers compensation, labor expenses, interest payments, and depreciation are tax
deductible from taxable income. Since corporations sell stock to stockholders, those stockholders
purchased a certain percentage of the corporation. In turn, purchasing a portion of the corporate
liability. If a stockholder accumulates income within the corporation in which he holds stock shares,
he reduces his tax liability. Although the shareholder s additional income would eventually be
taxed, his stock will grow at the before tax rate of interest. This benefits the corporation and the
shareholders, as neither party holds the entire liability, nor do the shareholders pay debt if the
corporation is not generating profit. Corporate income taxalso preserves the integrity of personal
income tax. I believe that there should be corporate income tax, as the lack there of could create
potential opportunities for personal tax avoidance (Rosen, Ch 19).

Acid Rain Problems
An Overview OF AREAS IN THE WORLD THAT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH ACID RAIN
What areas in the world have problems with acid rain?
Areas that have problems with acid rain are those that contain many running cars and a large
population of people in one place, such as cities. Areas near electric companies that burn fossil fuel
or manufacturing industries also face acid rain. Even areas that are far from electric companies and
manufacturing industries face the wrath of acid rain as SO2 and NOx can travel far through wind
and air currents.
Why do they have acid rain?
These places have acid rain because of the amount of SO2 and NOx that is being created. The
burning of fossil fuels that electric companies do release sulfur dioxide that spreads through the air,
which forms acid rain. Heat that radiates off internal combustion engines(cars) forms nitrogen
dioxide. Which is also used in the making of acid rain. With the amount of cars that are being used
in one city, acid rain is bound to be a problem.
What damages does acid rain cause?
1. Acid rain breaks down the metal of structures in cities, like buildings and statues.
2. It pollutes the water and kills living organisms in ecosystems.
3. It creates smog and pollutes the air.
What are five thing we can do to prevent acid rain and the damage it causes?
1. We can change the way we create energy, instead burning fossil fuels we could use some
alternative method.
2. Instead of driving to work or school, people could walk or take a bike, or

The Rohingya are reviled by many in Myanmar as illegal immigrants and they suffer from

the missionaries to Nigeria affected the the Ibo culture and introduced its people to a new set of
religious beliefs and westernized customs. Chinua Achebe s novel, Things Fall Apart, portrays the
contrasting reactions of people to the new culture brought to their clan by the missionaries. Achebe

It was not the mad logic of the Trinity that captivated him. He did not understand it. It was the

The Boy Scout Law And ACM Code Of Ethics
Many companies and professional societies adopt or create their own codes of ethics for their
employees and members to adhere to. These guiding principles construct the foundations of
individual codes of ethics that engineers, employees, and members of these groups then follow
during their lives. As engineers and citizens of a global society we do not solely rely upon adopted
codes of ethicsto guide us when it comes to making decisions in scenarios that challenge our
judgement of right and wrong. A personal code of ethics is constructed by individuals and is
unique to every person based upon the living conditions they grew up in.
My ethical codes foundations lie in the Boy Scout Law which has played a significant role in

leave marks on our souls, creating lasting impressions on an individual. In order to grow into a
stronger person, it is crucial for an individual to be efficient at handling these challenges that life
brings in. In the film The Shawshanks Redemption, Andy Dufresne a bank employee, is falsely
convicted of murder, and then later incarcerated into Shawshank prison where he would serve two
life sentences. In Shawshank, Andy is put through emotional, physical, and mental challenges as he
struggles to prove himself innocent and adapt into the environment he is forced into. These rough

Andy s witness, and killed his witness because he did not want Andy to tell the world about this

Introduction:
Vertical Integration is the process in which several steps in the production and/or distribution of a
product or service are controlled by a single company or entity, in order to increase that company s

A solar power company that produces photovoltaic products and also manufacturers the

Selcting an Approach for a Qualitative Research Plan Essay Selecting an Approach for a Qualitative Research Plan Creswell (2013) contends that we need to identify our approach to qualitative inquiry in order to present it as a sophisticated study, to offer it as a specific type so that reviewers can properly assess it, and...to offer some way of organizing ideas that can be grounded in the scholarly literature of qualitative research (p. 69). Although I believe all three arguments cited by the author are important, this week s readings and discussion emphasized the third reason in particular. Indeed, reviewing the five approaches provided me with ideas regarding how to investigate and explore the topic. Through interviews and extensive data analysis the phenomenological study will aim to summarize what the individuals have experienced and how they have experienced it to arrive at the essence of the issue under investigation (Moustakas, 1994 as cited by Creswell, 2013, p. 79). Given the issue, transcendental phenomenology appears to be a desirable approach to gain a better understanding of the issue due to bracketing and its aim at perceiving a phenomenon new, fresh, and for the first time (Creswell, 2013, p. 80). Conducting a case study appears equally appropriate. Since case studies consist of qualitative approaches in which the investigator explores a real life, contemporary bounded system or multiple systems over time, through detailed, in depth data collection involving multiple sources of information, and reports a case description and case themes one could emphasize the changes in democratic participation as well as the motivators (Creswell, 2013, p. 97). Furthermore, case studies provide a wide array of approaches, including both quantitative and qualitative elements as well as explanatory, exploratory, and descriptive directions that could be used to investigate the proposed question (Creswell, 2013). Case selection would be purposeful, probably focusing on one to five NGOs engaging with the government to influence public policy and the people involved with the same. ... Introduction Whether it be buildings, marketplaces, transport, religious or political edifices the debate as to whether history changes are ongoing. Often people believe that history is always changing, but is that the case? The study of history can be perceived as constantly evolving, never ending journey of discovery (Ponic, 2011). A comparison between Shakespeare s original Globe Theatre and Sydney Opera House provides a good example of this. Both Amphitheatres were used similarly and both in different time periods. The following report will critically analyse the impact history has had on today s society by comparing two buildings that were and are used for similar activities. 2.0. Theatres Theatres are generally described as a building, part of a building, or outdoor area for housing dramatic presentations, stage entertainers, or motion picture shows (Dictonary.com, 2017). Throughout time theatres have been used for different things. • 6. The Portrayal Of The Young Black Men And Public Space Imagine being wrongfully persecuted and mistreated based on assumptions painted by society. The portrayal of the young black male in the late 1980s has not changed much in the United States. Brent Staples is able to reveal the truths of racial stereotyping in the United States, and the stigmas placed on young black males with the use of imagery in Black Men and Public Space. Appealing to the readers senses allows for better understanding of the time period Staples is writing about. Visual imagery is used to contrast how Staples appears to his victims and how these victims appear to the public. The fear the general public has of black males is exposed by appealing to the auditory senses. Non verbal reactions and body language of those around Staples uncovers their true sentiment towards black males. Imagery is an essential tool in uncovering the racism and stigmatization of black males in the United States. Appealing to ones senses is a very effective way to bring depth and meaning to a message. • 9. Persuasive Essay On Cardiovascular Disease Why I Chose My Topic Men are generally at greater risk of cardiovascular disease but that does not mean women are not affected by this deadly disease as well. This topic sparked an interest in me because women should be aware and learn about the risk factors for developing heart disease. Many women are not well informed or proactive in preventing or controlling cardiovascular diseases that may arise in the future due to the choices of today. People have little to no control over some risk factors such as family history and age that can affect women and it is crucial to have precaution before it becomes a problem. There are numerous of ways to diminish the chances but many women do not have access or the correct resources to learn about them. For those who already have a cardiovascular disease, it may be hard to adjust to ways of controlling it or may not know how to properly control it yet. Maybe the way the person is controlling it is not the best option for them and should seek for proper guidance. The problem is really what or where can these women find the proper guidance that they desire, or what exactly is the proper guidance for them. Prevention and control of cardiovascular disease among women should be talked about more. It is important to have the knowledge and protect ourselves from something that can be prevented if we follow the right steps to reduce our chances of cardiovascular disease. This movie is very deep and difficult to watch because it forces me reflect on how badly Africans and African Americans have been treated, but it also makes me proud that things are better. I believe that this movie is historically accurate because the portrayal of the conditions on the ship was as badly as they were during slavery. I feel this movie accurately depicts life as an African slave and how hard it is to let go of everything someone has learned and conform to a new identity. I believe the movie explains all points of perception from the slaves point of view to the slave owners to the capturers and even the captain of the ship s experience. Establishment Republicans Are Not Sniggering Establishment Republicans are not sniggering at Donald Trump s antics anymore, especially as he threatens to go solo in November if party insiders scheme to deny him the nomination. Echoes of similarly irate conservative Teddy Roosevelt and his Bull Moose party sinking the Republican (GOP) national campaign in 1912 get louder every time Trump wins a primary state. After the real estate mogul announced his candidacy in June last year, party leaders contentedly sat back in the peanut gallery ridiculing his naked attempts at demagoguery. Later, they dismissed Trump s surging poll numbers as an electoral blip sparked by fringe sections of the party base that loathed the GOP s handling of Congress. Moreover, they believed Trump s novelty act as the outsider would soon wear out and make GOP voters collectively come to their senses and coalesce behind either Marco Rubio or Jeb Bush, the party s blue eyed boys. This cocksure feeling has now given way to one of dread as Trump keeps notching victories in the primary season. A new Rasmussen poll puts Trump 15 points clear of closest rival Ted Cruz. More worryingly, 24% of Trump s base will very likely vote for him if he runs as an independent, effectively torching GOP hopes of preventing a Democratic three peat in the White House. Women s Exploitation Of Women The exploitation of women in production, and the exclusion of women from consumption is not the only ways in which the female body is harmed as a result of the globalization of the fashion industry. Perhaps the most obvious occurrence of female body harm in the fashion industry is a result of fashion modeling. An up close look into the modeling industry as a microcosm of the fashion industry reveals the severe objectification and commodification of fashion models for the sake of consumption. The modeling industry has created a culture of exclusion across genders and races. Author Ashley Mears (2010) critically analyses the fashion industry, and how it influences production of culture and beauty ideals around the world. The modeling world is extremely female dominated, and the women who participate are continually commodified as they are used as a means to promote and disseminate ideas of how women should look, (p. 23). Because consumption is valued so in today s society, the model is employed based on her perceived ability to sell a product. The clothes she is hired to wear and the beauty ideal that she is helping sell are more important than her humanity, and she becomes dehumanized. Clothes take on such utmost importance that models are and should be mere clothes hangers, with perfectly discrete bodies that will display the clothes but not detract from them, (Mears, 2010, p. 35). Do you usually base your meals around foods that have been previously prepared (I m talking soups, pizzas, cereal, chips, etc.)? Even if you choose the low fat versions of these processed foods, it s not positively a healthful choice. The issue with these habits, is that they are not NATURAL. You can t allow all of these alien, and even detrimental substances in your body, and assume it will perform optimally. The nicotine, caffeine, alcohol, food preservatives, and additives are in no way shape or form good for us. In point of fact, they are very damaging. Stop and consider the numerous people now a days that live with or even die of disease? Medicine and science are advancing, yet people are getting more diseased and debilitated. It does not make much sense until we scrutinize the foods we eat. Ninety percent of the average Americans diet is composed of processed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The two cases mentioned above are more complex and would fall under the Misappropriation Theory of Insider Trading. This theory uses a corporate outsider (Kaplan, Matteo, Pfeffer). The famous case that put this theory into law books was United States v. O Hagan. In this case: an attorney traded in the stock of a potential takeover target. He learned of the potential takeover from confidential information obtained by his law firm, which represented the company planning the tender offer. Since he was not an officer of the target company, and had no relation to it, the classical theory of insider trading did not apply. The Court held that he was nevertheless guilty of insider trading, reasoning that the attorney owed a fiduciary duty to his law firm, and, by using his law firm s confidential information to trade, he misappropriated such information (Kaplan, Matteo, ... The food of Hokkaido is well known worldwide because of its high quality and freshness of seafood. Hokkaido also produces dominant amounts of Japan s meat, wheat and dairy so its cuisine is not just a thing entirely apart from the rest of Japan s. There are many regional cuisine in Hokkaido including Genghis Khan barbecue, Hokkaido ramen, Ishikari nabe and so on. Through my research, I find that there are many different cooking methods that people in Hokkaido use. For example, originally, Genghis Khan barbecue only focuses on burning and roast lamb and mutton. With more and more southern Japanese into Hokkaido, the sauce and vegetables are gradually brought into the cuisine to adjust taste. I also find these cooking methods are interesting, and would like to learn more about the Hokkaido cuisine. • 35. Corporate Tax And Corporate Income Tax Introduction I believe that there should be corporate income tax, as it acts as a user fee for the special privileges (Rosen, Ch 19) corporations receive. The corporate income tax is a separate tax on corporate income, in which varies in a bracket between ten percent and thirty five percent. The effective corporate income taxrate is estimated at thirty two percent, and eighteen percent for non corporations. Workers compensation, labor expenses, interest payments, and depreciation are tax deductible from taxable income. Since corporations sell stock to stockholders, those stockholders purchased a certain percentage of the corporation. In turn, purchasing a portion of the corporate liability. If a stockholder accumulates income within the corporation in which he holds stock shares, he reduces his tax liability. Although the shareholder s additional income would eventually be taxed, his stock will grow at the before tax rate of interest. This benefits the corporation and the shareholders, as neither party holds the entire liability, nor do the shareholders pay debt if the corporation is not generating profit. Corporate income taxalso preserves the integrity of personal income tax. • 36. Acid Rain Problems An Overview OF AREAS IN THE WORLD THAT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH ACID RAIN What areas in the world have problems with acid rain? Areas that have problems with acid rain are those that contain many running cars and a large population of people in one place, such as cities. Areas near electric companies that burn fossil fuel or manufacturing industries also face acid rain. Even areas that are far from electric companies and manufacturing industries face the wrath of acid rain as SO2 and NOx can travel far through wind and air currents. Why do they have acid rain? These places have acid rain because of the amount of SO2 and NOx that is being created. The burning of fossil fuels that electric companies do release sulfur dioxide that spreads through the air, which forms acid rain. Heat that radiates off internal combustion engines(cars) forms nitrogen dioxide. Which is also used in the making of acid rain. With the amount of cars that are being used in one city, acid rain is bound to be a problem. What damages does acid rain cause? 1. Nineteenth century steel tycoon Andrew Carnegie s example in the use of vertical integration led others to use the system to promote financial growth and efficiency in their businesses. Vertical integration can be a highly important strategy, but it is notoriously difficult to implement successfully and when it turns out to be the wrong strategy costly to fix. 1.1 Breaking down Vertical Integration: Backward and forward integration are types of vertical integration.
