A Brief Note On North American Aerospace Defense Command...
A. Introduction
NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) is always prepared to intercept hijacked
airplanes with fighter jets, and are able to debilitate them or shoot them down Fact or fiction? This
is a fact; however, on the day of September 11, 2001, four commercial airplanes were hijacked with
the intent to crash into the world trade center, the pentagon, and possibly the white house. Three of
these planes were successful on this mission and there is substantial evidence that NORAD knew
about these hijackings, at least after the first one hit the World Trade Center. NORAD generals said
they learned of the hijackings in time to scramble fighter jets. (NewsOne) Why did they instead
choose to stand down? Obviously, NORAD was commanded by a higher authority to abstain from
thwarting these men s attempts. This must be because the corrupt government of the United States
either knew these attacks were going to take place, or they allowed them to happen to benefit from
the after effects. The government may not have been completely behind the 9/11 attacks, but they
most certainly had some part in it and had the capability to prevent them; therefore, we must
consider the theories we could possibly believe, and those that we dismiss outright through analysis
and contemplative thought.
B. Background
It is September of 2001. The United States has not been actively involved in a war in 10 years

John Bowlby Attachment And Loss Essay
Attachment: Attachment and Loss Volume 1 by John Bowlby, London, Pimlico 1997
In Attachment and Loss, John Bowlby presents his evolutionary theory whereby a baby enters the
world pre programmed to form attachments to others in order to secure their survival. He examines
the nature of the child s tie to his mother when proposing his theory and frequently refers to the
biological sciences in particular ethology, the study of animal behaviour. This was a somewhat
revolutionary approach in the field of psychoanalysis and resulted in Bowlby being referred to as
the father of attachment theory.
What Bowlby proposed is observations of the very young with particular focus paid to behaviour in
the presence and absence of the mother, allows insight into the early phases of personality
development.
Chapter 2 describes a number of observations of children in different settings, such as hospitals,
from the likes of Spitz Wolf (1946), Robertson (1962) and Heinicke (1956). They focused on the
child s behaviour ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It concludes that the role of the mother in the early months of the baby s life is to keep the child
in proximity, though it is worth noting that human foster parents of primates report intense clinging
on the part of the baby, suggesting the babies are also predisposed to remain within proximity of
the mother. Consequently, this suggests the development of an evolutionary trait that ensures
protection by the mother therefore a greater chance of survival. In human children this is
evidenced more clearly when the child begins to crawl. Ainsworth s (1963, 1969) observations
seemingly confirm that a baby able to crawl, will use the mother as a secure base from which to
explore their world. During their exploration, the child will frequently check for the mother s
presence, also witnessed is the child s tendency to follow the mother when she begins to

My Watson to His Holmes
It was another typical Thursday night in the office Rudy was looking over his notes from the
investigation, while I was re checking my personal notes to see if there were any differences.
The force s own detectives are pretty lousy, so it s only natural that we were on the case.
Besides, if it wasn t for the new sergeant that fired us both a year ago because of longstanding
reasons , all of this wouldn t even be happening. Rudy has gotten over it for the most part, but I
still hold a grudge to this very day. Stacy, I need a drink! Rudy yelled out from his desk. Yeah,
yeah, I got ya covered. I replied. I set down my notes on the table, and grabbed the half empty
bottle of whiskey which I stored in the kitchen. I noticed two shot glasses on his desk guess he
really wanted to take a break. We ve been going at it for hours, so why not? I can t tell the last
time I saw Rudy this enthused in a case there were stacks of folders on the table behind him,
various photos of the victims pinned up on the board with names, descriptions, and other notable
info, and perhaps the most glaring feature of his office the desk he was leaning on was buried in
mountains of paperwork, evidence, and cigarette butts. Yeah, he s been hard at work. I m
surprised that you actually found some time to take a break, Rudy. I said, pouring the drinks.
Well, it was only eventual. he said, pushing the dossiers aside. He took a shot as soon as I finished
pouring. He flinched a bit, but

Analysis Of George Miller s Mad Max
Succeeding to composers Brian May and Maurice Jarre to score George Miller s fourth Mad
Max film Mad Max: Fury Road . Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) delivered a score that mix
new technologies and techniques with vintage scores cliches. Tom Holkenborg is a composer
from the Netherland who has had a number of hits as a solo artist in the music electronic scene
back in the late 90s and more this last decade for his work on film scores with his mentor Hans
Zimmer. The pair have provided the scores for some of Hollywood s biggest recent blockbusters
counting 300: Rise of an Empire , Man of Steel and The Dark Knight Rises among others.
Certainly in Holkenborg s score for Mad Max: Fury Road we can hear an emulation of Zimmer
sound . Zimmer create simple thematic sequence that he would repeat and make evolve all along
the movie. He s also especially famous for blending electronic music sounds using computers and
/or combination of synthesizers with traditional orchestral arrangements. He is particularly adept
at blending diverse styles into a musical fusion of classical, pop and world music. His style is
very much to create simple thematic material, and then give them the Zimmer treatment to craft
them into highly effective pieces of film music embodying the mood of a film, such that music
and movie complement perfectly. (Paterson, 2016) Holkenborg had a clear major vision for the
score. He wanted to create an insane apocalyptic rock opera that has to be over the top

Florence Nightingale Contributions
Florence Nightingale was born May 12th, 1820 named after Florence, Italy, where she was born.
At just one year old Florence moved to England because her father owned Lea Hurst, a country
house, in Derbyshire and was extremely wealthy. When Florence was five years old, her mother
Fanny convinced her husband to move to Emely Park where the Nightingales would have more
entertainment. Although this made Fanny happy, Florence was miserable with the consistent
guests and chatter. She preferred to be alone with her thoughts. Growing up she was only taught
the things a good wife and mother would need to know, including; music, dance, needlework and
art lessons. In the 1800s women weren t expected to receive an education based on the core
subjects, they learned things that would help them become the best care taker they could be. Since
Florence was considered upper class, it was highly unlikely for her to ever have a job. But as
Florence grew older she became very neat and organized. She enjoyed numbers and placing data
into tables. At the age of eight she taught herself French and always did the right thing because she
believed that s what god wanted. Once Florence turned twelve her father, William Nightingale
insisted on her and Parthenope, her older sister, to be well educated. William taught his two
daughters the following languages; Latin, Greek, French, Italian, and German. Then he had them
learn all about history, philosophy, ethics, composition, the bible, and mathematics.

Unraveling The Meaning Of `` Kill The Indian, Save The Man...
Unraveling the meaning of Kill the Indian, Save the Man
There are so many different definitions of the word racism, but how does each peron define it?
One individual, Richard Henry Pratt, clearly knew how to thoroughly define the word,
Segregating any class or race of people apart from the rest of the people kills the progress of the
segregated people or makes their growth very slow (Howard 2016). Unfortunately, we are still
living in the repercussion of Pratt s word. The United States history is full of examples that have led
to the ethnocentric development of the country. One of the most remote examples of this
ethnocentric belief is displayed with the construction of off reservation boarding schools for Native
Americans first started in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, by former general, Richard Henry Pratt. The
purpose of the schools was to strip Native Americans of their cultural traditions and teach them the
skills necessary to function in American Society. Pratt keyed this belief with the saying Kill the
Indian, save the man, in order to justify his reasons to assimilate the Indians to the white culture.
However, were the American Indians really forced to assimilate because society wanted to help
them, or because they wanted America to be solely made of true Americans with American culture?
How was the assimilation of the Indians satisfactory when it created cultural genocide? Having
assimilated the Indian man did not save him, it merely replaced him.

The problems during the 1819 Highland Clearances what they are known today is the eviction
of families renting their homes on estates so large scale sheep farming can take place.
Regardless if the families had been there for four generations and paid their rent on time, yet they
were still evicted. The manner of which some were evicted was violent as fire was set to homes
in front of families, or as reported that a mother about to give birth with fires all around but later

Ozymandias Poem Analysis
Ozymandias is a poem written from the perspective of a man who has been told about a statue in
the desert the statue is of famous powerful pharaoh Ozymandia, but it is now crumbling and
destroyed. The poem explores how power can be arrogant and cruel, but ultimately can t last
forever. The poem however is not aztualy about ozymandais, ozymandais is just a metaphor for
all kings paricullarly George 3rd as he was in power at the time the poem was written. John
agards poem, checking out e history is written from th prespective of a boy who is taught about
British history in school but not about his own countries history. The theme of power is
presented as the poem critiscizes those in power and effectively mocks the history he has been
taught aboyt in school. The poem is also about how knowing your history is key t knowing your
identity and knowing your identity empowers you. Ozymandias power is presented as being
evil and cruel . The description of his statue s facial expression sneer of cold command suggests
arrogance and shows that the slaves who built the statues purposely portrayed this look on his
face to mock ozymandias. Also the writing which appears on the statue s pedestal: king of kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair! shows how big his ego is. The phrase king of kings
is used in the bible to describe jesus. So ozymandais effectively thinks of himself as god like .
Shelley continues to portray this as he uses juxtaposition when writing the description of the
statue as it is now a colossal wreck , which is in decay and shatter d . He emphasizes how the art
work has outlived and utpowered O zymandais . Through the Poem shelley ontinues to show the
poem of man weak .This contrasts with the images of art and nature, which he portrays as being
superior and long lasting through his description of the artists skills which yet survive, stamp d on
these lifeless things, and the neverending landscape boundless and bare, the lone and level sands
stretch far away. Similarily, in checking out me history, josn agard talks about the power of black
and white historical figures. The poem uses repetition and short sentences to portray his anger right
from thr beginning of the play. He

How Global Economic Environment Is Affecting International...
How Global Economic Environment is affecting International Marketers? By Md. Jafar Sadique,

1. Introduction:
International business is taking different shades and is unavoidable today. This dynamic world is
rapidly changing to the extent that is has been reduced to a Global village .
The truth is, we are going through the most severe global financial crisis since the days of Great
Depression. Originated in USA, economic recession is affecting all the major players of world
economy. Governments and major policy makers of world economy have taken notice of the
urgency of the situation and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Over the years, many banks in the US started the practice of offering home loans to high risk
individuals, i.e., individuals who had a high probability of defaulting on their loans. The banks
justified this move by saying that even if these individuals defaulted on their loans, the amount
could be recovered by selling off the property in question.
Over a period of time, many of these individuals defaulted on their payments, as was expected,
and the banks put the properties back on the market. However, when so many properties were put
on sale at the same time, the property prices, which were already over inflated to begin with,
plummeted. The unprecedented drop in property rates proved fatal for banks that had already
invested most of their money in these speculative deals, and they were forced to close down.
The collapse of these banks is just one of the indicative causes of the present recession. The roots
of this recession can be said to lie in over inflated property prices, oil prices, and commodity
prices. Artificially inflated prices are typical of a profitable market. When the market is doing
well, the sellers eventually become greedy and raise the prices. All is well, as long as the buyers
continue to be able to afford the inflated prices. However, the day the prices reach a level where
the majority of the buyers cannot afford them, a crash in the prices, and consequently a recession, is
inevitable.

Vigilance Essay Feb 2015

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance. (Quote Desmond Tutu)
Vigilance is defined as the action or state of being alert and watchful. It is concerned both with
what is and what will be. Thus it is important to be Vigilant in the army for many reasons. Not the
least of which being it could keep you and your buddies alive despite the world s best attempts to
make you otherwise. But it means more than just staying awake and alert at guard duty. It means
both being mentally and physically prepared to react to changing conditions and to being aware and
cognizant of the current conditions. There are three important categories to discuss here and

Nursing demands vigilance about people. The sights and smells that a patient offers, their
movements and their offhand comments all contribute crucial information to understanding what
they need. Training and experience heighten one s ability to see what needs to be seen. (Quote
Steven Amsterdam)
But vigilance is not just a tangible watchfulness or alertness. It can be intangible as well.
Vigilance TO duty means that you are not only vigilant on duty but about your duties. It means
that you maintain a watch on YOURSELF as well as the world and others. That way you do not
slip and begin to neglect your duties. This is just as important as being vigilant on duty. Making
sure schedules are made and kept, responsibilities are divided up properly, records are updated,
supplies are ordered and so on ad nauseam are all things you have to maintain vigilance over
every day no matter your duty or post. It is an attention to detail that you resolve to maintain
always. It is the sign of a professional and skilled person to be vigilant to your duties and on duty.
Be vigilant; guard your mind against negative thoughts. (Quote by Buddha)
Eternal vigilance is the price of eternal development. (Quote by Gordon B. Hinckley)

Corinthians View On Marriage
The imminent return of Christ was a topic of extreme importance to Paul, and significantly
influenced numerous of Paul s letters. Also, various Bible scholars believe that the Parousia
directly influenced Paul s stance on marriage (Harris, 2014). However, the question remains did
this affect his views on marriageand the Christian life? Although the certain scholars believe this is
the case, I Corinthians chapter seven may depict a different reason for this belief. Consequently,
Paul s premise regarding his aversion to marriage was that a spouse, children, household
responsibilities, and sexual tension averted time and energy from pursuing Christ and his work.
Moreover, while I Corinthians 7:5 deals with sexual abstinence within marriage it

How Does Catullus Show Creativity
The human is capable of a plethora of emotions. With such emotions we are capable of
expression that spans across many different forms. This emotional expression is found
throughout history and fully enhanced by creative minds like Edgar Allan Poe, Daniel Dumile,
and Seba Jun. These individuals are professionals at compiling entire masses of their inner
emotions to create works that vividly express what they are experiencing. There are only a
selective few who have been able to reach this level of creativity, and I believe that a specific
Roman deserves to be recognized. Catullus displayed controversial themes in his work proudly,
created art for those he loved, and confronted his adversaries without fear which inspires my
artistic qualities. Catullus was not afraid of what he had to say in his poems. His expression
could take very questionable routes, but he never seemed uncomfortable doing so. When he was
partaking in describing one s purity, he was not scared of making the comparison of an anal cavity
to that of a salt cellar. This uncensored projection displays many ideas on Catullus s character and
his care for societal blockage. Firstly, it shows that he is willing to come out and say the exact
thoughts in his head rather than change it to suit the sensitivities of society. Such... Show more

multitude of severe swears in an attempt to dismiss him. Being an avid listener to many musical
genres, I can appreciate the use of such language as a form of expression and not complete

The Image Of Plastic Surgery Essay
The media puts forth a plethora of information to the general public. Appearance is a major idea in
society that is constantly put out on mainstream media. The image of seemingly perfect celebrities
and stars are heavily rotated, and have lasting effects on millions of Americans who are unhappy
with their body image. Plastic surgeryhas become common amongst middle classwomen, and a
rapid increase in male plastic surgery has been noted in recent years. Constant exposure to the
perfect body image in the media puts harm in the very idea that the human bodycomes in all shapes
and sizes. Despite the temptations of a perfect body and plastic surgery to fix imperfections, it is
completely possible to maintain a positive sense of self while facing standards and expectations
that are nearly impossible to obtain. The perfect body is an image that is put out by the media for
both men and women. In our society, the standard for women is that they maintain slim bodies with
certain features being larger. The standard for men is that they work out and maintain muscular
bodies. Nancy Clark touches upon this concept in her 2004 article Mirror, Mirror on the Wall... Are
Muscular Men the Best of All? Clark explains that men tend to see themselves as too small, and
maintain a constant thirst to grow in mass.
Muscle dysmorphia is a new syndrome emerging behind gym doors. You might notice it in your
gym s weight room. Some weightlifters pathologically believe their muscles are too small.

What Are Your Struggles Essay
Struggles can come from everywhere, but the hardest ones are from within. Our weaknesses,
our flaws are the things we have to struggle with every day. I have grown up with quite a few
struggles like everyone else. My anger, fear of public speaking and trust issues set me apart of other
people and these are the struggles I cope with every day. I just have to learn how to live with those
flaws and sooner or later I will overcome them.
Anger the one thing that runs in my family. I wouldn t say I m bipolar but I can go from freezing
cold to burning fire real quick. My anger is a struggle because it prevents me from seeing someone
else s point of view also can make me selfish. It makes me think as if I m always right (which can

The Consequences of Dysfunctional Family Relationships
An intimate home life can serve as a haven in a chaotic and confusing world. On the other hand, a
dysfunctional family can serve as a source of insecurity and distrust. Steinbeck s The

largest dairy producer in the country (Statistics New Zealand, n.d.). Over the period of 2007 to
2012, the region has seen an increase of 60,000 hectares of irrigated farm land (Hills, 2013) due
to the conversion of beef, sheep and crop farms to water intensive dairy farming. There has also
been an increase of 58% in the number of dairy farms and a 31% increase in the average herd
size of dairy farms (Burns, 2013). For maximum production, sufficient irrigation is required for
dairy farms (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, 2000). Therefore dairying
requires at least ten times more water than other farming practices (Ward McKague, 2007). Over
the summer months of December, January and February, this irrigation increase would represent a

From the moment the world introduced us to television, we have been bombarded with images of
fantasy and happily ever after s. Perhaps the most well known corrupter of reality lies within the
Disney franchise. Disney s, The Little Mermaid, follows a typical fairy tale format in which all
goals and dreams are achieved. Its counterpart, however, moves to the beat of a different drum. Hans
Christian Andersen s, The Little Mermaid, portrays a more serious plot much different from Disney

to 1920s, Japans brutal occupation of China in the 1930s and 1940s and Japan s role in America s
containment strategy against China. China counters Japan by forming a military alliance with the
Soviet Union in 1950. This alliance was indirectly directed at the United Statesbut primarily
directed against Japan. China tried to encourage Japan to have better relations by playing upon
Japanese war guilt and issues of Japanese behavior in the 1930s and 40s. This didn t work in the
political dimension of the relationship. China felt that better relations with Japan would be useful,
both politically and economically. But Japan would not normalize relations because of its close
relationship with the United States and the nationalists. On the economic front, things were
different, as trade started to grow. The countries are so close to one another that it made sense.
Meanwhile, Japan is still recovering from the war, but is recovering rapidly and becomes an
important potential partner for China. In the 1960s the forming of a trade relationship began. The
two countries assign some memorandums of

Prenatal Development And Development Of A Fetus
Prenatal development, also known as antenatal development, is the process of the development of a
human fetus during pregnancy, from fertilization of the egg until the birth of the child. There are
many factors that can contribute to the development of the fetus and many threats that can impact
it. Most prenatal developmentoccurs in a normal manner, however; there are many things that can
go wrong during this vulnerable time and usually are caused by genetic or environmental factors.
While the hazards that threaten the development of a fetus can be easily steered clear of, dangers
do exist and should be recognized to ensure the fetus undergoes complete and healthy maturation.
The growth of the fetus that takes place during the nine months of prenatal development is a very
important and susceptible time. Anything the mother is exposed or even ingests makes its way into
the placenta and to the fetus. Some risk factors for prenatal development include the age and
nutrition of the mother, exercise, and stress levels. On behalf of environmental factors that can have
a negative effect on growth and development of the fetus, teratogens which are substances in the
environment that can have a harmful effect on the development of the fetus (Stein, Kline Kharrazi,
1984) are the main environmental threats. The detrimental effects of teratogens depend on many
different factors such as the amount of exposure that the fetus is in contact with, heredity, and any
other negative

Neorealism As A Response Of Realism Theory Devised By Hans...
Neorealism in IR theory Neorealism has often been associated with Waltz (1979). Actually,
neorealism is a response of realism theory devised by Hans Morgenthau (1948), which assumes
that all affecting factors for cooperation and discord or peace and war are only under certain
conditions (Keohane, 1986, p. 2 3). Neorealism has been the most prominent and influential
approach in the field of IR theory since the early 1980s. Mikhail Gorbachev and Kim Il Sung
were the examples of leaders that had neorealism approach in their foreign policy behavior
(Malici, 2009, p. 132). Unlike realism, neorealism assumes that world politics is an anarchy
environment. Anarchy here means the absence of centralized government (Waltz, 1979 ; Oye,
1985). In that sense, neorealism is an attempt to update and modify the concept of realism
theory in international politics (Aliyev, 2011). In its development, neorealism experienced some
additional concepts. These concepts are devised by many next generations of neo realist
scholars, e.g. Oye (1985), Keohane (1986), Buzan (1993), Jervis (1997), and so forth with
variations of definitions (Dibek, 2012). This essay uses the concept of neorealism from Waltz
and its modification from Oye. The basic concept is that cooperation can still be developed under
anarchy, or the absence of government, which associated with the occurrence of violence and lead
to conflict (Waltz, 1979, p. 102 128 ; Oye, 1985, p. 1 24). The cooperation in this essay refers to

Content Analysis of Student Learning
Content Analysis of Student Learning For most people who have ridden the roller coaster of
primary education, subtracting twenty three from seventy is a piece of cake. In fact, we probably
work it out so quickly in our heads that we don t consciously recognize the procedures that we are
using to solve the problem. For us, subtractionseems like something that has been ingrained in our
thinking since the first day of elementary school. Not surprisingly, numbers and subtraction and
carry over were new to us at some point, just like everything else that we know today. For
Gretchen, a first grader trying to solve 70 23, subtraction doesn t seem like a piece of cake as she

Then, she counts down from five to three and writes down the three underneath, understanding that
the number she ended on was the final amount; this is an example of cardinality. When Gretchen
was finished, she came up with the amount 53, which is incorrect. Gretchen probably chose this
method first because it is taught as the standard and the best method to use to do subtraction.
Even though the answer she finds is incorrect, Gretchen seems to trust the answer because of the
validity that has been placed on this method, even though she made a mistake. The second
method Gretchen uses is with base ten blocks, using a physical model to represent the problem.
As Gretchen arranges the blocks into groups of 70 and of 23, she displays a grasp of the concept
of tens and ones. Gretchen uses the grouping of 23 to have a physical representation of what
needs to be taken away from 70 so that she can match up the quantities. Gretchen is also showing
subitizing as she connects the numbers with a physical amount. She takes two tens away for
twenty, and then Gretchen counts off 1, 2, 3 from one of the remaining tens. Instead of replacing
the ten with seven ones, Gretchen is able to visualize the seven that remain and say that her
answer is 47. The use of base ten blocks probably makes sense to Gretchen because they are

The Meeting of Spring and Winter
A Narrative Writing Based on the Chippewa Native American Story of the Spring Beauty
At the end of another winter, an old man sat in his lodge which stood on the banks of a frozen
river. The days were not as frigid as they had been in the last three months. His fire was dying,
yet the air was not so cold. He was ancient and solitary. Age had turned his long hair a snowy
white, and caused every bone in his body to creak and groan as he stood up to stroke the
glowing embers of his fire. The days passed slowly as he listened to the sound of the snow
whirling outside. One day a beautiful young woman entered his lodge. Her deep, dark eyes
danced and shone, and her cheeks were bright. She wore a crown of primroses in her raven black
hair and wore a beautiful dress strewn with wildflowers. Her figure was tall, slender, and lithe,
and she had a dignified grace about her. Her movements looked like a weightless dance upon a
sunbeam. In her hand she held flowers, which carried the sweet smelling fragrance of springtime.
I am the Spirit of Spring. The name given to me by the earth s children is Seegwun, said the lovely
visitor.
The old man looked up to meet the girl s eyes, and smiling said, Beautiful one. I cannot tell you
how delighted I am to see you have come to visit again. Come sit here with me by the fire. I will

Narrative Analysis Of A Crush On Chaos
Plot development for my narrative: A Crush on Chaos? Ew No!
Exposition: My nana dropped me and brother off a little ways from our school so that we weren t
sitting in traffic. I went to Coffee Bean with some friends and my brother went who knows where!
When we were walking to Walker Junior High School, I saw my brother about to cross the street to
go to Kennedy High School. I told my friends that I would be right back. They left and I yelled
out to my brother. That is the part in my narrative that represents the exposition. The setting is the
Kennedy, Walker, and Coffee Bean area. The characters, well, the main characters, are shown as
being me, Bella Palmer, as well as my brother, Lucky Palmer.
Rising Action: Lucky! Hey! What are you doing? I said being as curious as ever.
Lucky did a half jog like thing and made his way over to me. He put me in a headlock and told
me he was going to come with me to Walker. When we got in, he said that he wanted to see Mrs.
Green. We went to her classroom and she was happy to see him.
Hi Lucky! How is High School?
Hi Mrs. Green. It is good. How is my sister in class? A lot better than me huh?
She is very good in class. Hm She may be my favorite Palmer! she said with a smirk.
See Lucky? I m a lot better than you! I said giggling.
We said bye to Mrs. Green and Lucky started to head back to his school. I used to always talk
about Lucky to my first period teacher, Mr. Kyle, and he wanted to meet the ever so famous
Lucky . So I took the opportunity and knew that he wouldn t willingly go meet him. So, I took
his backpack and darted toward Mr. Kyle s old classroom. I looked through the window but he
wasn t there. When my brother caught up to me, I surrendered and gave his back pack back.
My brother started to go to Kennedy again so I decided that it was my turn to go to his school. As
we were walking, I was thinking of ways to embarrass him without completely humiliating myself.
Hm should I just be quiet but follow him around? No because then it wouldn t be really
embarrassing. Maybe I should hold onto his arm with one hand, point to him with the other, while
yelling out that I know him and that he is my brother. Maybe not, we would just get dirty looks.

Let s Stop Judging A Book By It s Cover
Just like Ghandhi said, an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. There are plenty of times,
when we accidently may judge someone we don t know. For instance, when first going to a new
class full of people, or even a job interview. Isn t it crazy how one small conversation with
someone you don t know can change your total perspective on them? Personally, it happened to
me so many times and the people I thought were weird turned out to be one of the coolest people
I know. Let s stop judging a book by it s cover and actually read it and interpret it s true meaning.

conversation works as a positive model for resolving and managing world problems to a certain
extent, depending on the individual/people you are talking to. Overall, some people you will try

unheard views.

speculating if the team would trade him. The question now is should the team trade Cousins?

The only thing that is standing in his way of getting a new deal is how much does he want? It all
depends on his asking price, he is heading to his 30 s soon so he should want to get the most
money he can get right now and not wait.
On the Redskins side of things, the team is playing the waiting game with Cousins when it comes
to a new contract which could at the end of the day be a really bad thing. Multiple reports that are
out there are saying that the team does not think he is worth the money he is asking for.
The Redskins should do the smart thing and just lock him up right now as long as he does not
want over 100 million dollars a fair asking price is between 50 million dollars and 70 million
dollars. There are not a lot of franchise quarterbacks out there right now, and the team can not afford
to lose him right now.
At the end of the day, the Redskins should not trade Cousins he is too valuable to the franchise
right now and he means a lot to the locker room. If the team does trade him, there are not going to
be a lot of options to replace him with the quarterbacks in the draft do not have the potential that

Odysseus fit perfectly to the early ideas of the heroic. The Ancient Greeks believed heroes to be
honorable, noble, strong, and intelligent. Odysseus showed these qualities when Calypso offered

Organized labor began to rise as the business tycoons and big business owners, ...took advantage of
this lawless environment to build fortunes, destroy reputations, exploit both workers and the

since, The U.S. patents office, which had recorded only 276 inventions during the 1790 s,

Executive Summary
Hummus is already a popular choice among endurance athletes. Competition among brands within
this portion of the target market is important and therefore, should become a focus of the Athenos
brand. Athenos has not yet utilized sports marketing to promote the brand, but with a focus on the
hummus products, a sports overlay can be very effective to target key consumers. Athenos currently
falls behind Sabra as the market leader in hummus and because neither brand currently markets their
products through sports, this is a vital opportunity for Athenos to increase their market share and

restaurants where the need is not as high. Outside of major grocery store chains, Athenos should

Risk Takers Compare And Contrast
Despite the lack of communication, the comparison between risk takers and reckless people is a
key factor in life. Everyone will most likely experience one of these once in their life, but the real
question is which one will you be? Although they bear many minor similarities, the differences
between reckless and risktakers are obvious. Risk takers are people who represent the act of being
cautious while at the same time realizing there s a slight chance of failing. On the other hand,
reckless people show poor behavior such as being careless or acting foolish. A prime example
would be NASCAR drivers. These professionals risk their life doing what they love, while at the
same time being extremely aware of potential danger. Even though they still carry an abundance
of experience, they still make sure they have their armor equipped on their body and personal
vehicles. Reckless people basically don t follow rules. We see people on the roadways talking on

This is something risk takers rely to complete, which is why they have been given the
exceptional identity. William Burke Miller Skeet was known for being a very complete person,
mainly due to his responsibility of taking food to Floyd Collins knowing he s risking his life
down there. Everyone knew he could easily get stuck down there with Floyd but he refused to
give up and risked his life to continuously feed him. This is a prime example of being sacrificial
as well, which leads to being a risk taker. Many believe the definition of being reckless includes
the act of doing dumb things in public, but studies prove that most of the nonsense involves being
behind a wheel. When drivers took long glances away from the road at the wrong moment, they
were twice as likely to get into a crash. This includes drinking, texting, talking, and more while in a

This post modern event, so unprecedented not because of the amount of destruction, but because of
the unlikely U.S. target, needs a post modern lens through which it can be viewed. With this in
mind I will discuss various aspects of the current crisis in light of scholarly methods of
investigation in the field of religion and myth.
Certain themes have emerged within the warring points of view as this drama unfolds. There is the
blurring of the distinction between Islam as a religion and the acts of terrorism that have occurred
on the political stage. It is being blurred in both directions. The terrorists are fusing the two realms
while the Americans and their allies are trying to make a rigid distinction between actions
motivated by hate and what they call envy of U.S. freedom versus Islam as a religion which they
would like to view as uncontaminated by cultural and political context. This theme lies within the
domain of the scholarly debates on reductionism. Within this argument Mircea Eliade stands as the
dominant figure who makes the distinction between what he calls the sacred and the profane. He
argues against reductionism. He also states, with relevance to the current situation, that the so

Bacchus And The Pieta By Michelangelo
Because of his genius, the work of art was chosen as the symbol of the Republic of Florence. It
was carved in a huge block of marble that remained abandoned for more than forty years after
suffering damage just in its basis in a previous attempt (Michelangelo took advantage of that just
creating an empty espace between Davi s feet). Several artists had fought for the honor of doing
that, including Leonardo da Vinciand Andrea Sansovino. Michelangelowas responsible for the task
due to its already established reputation for brilliant sculptor because of his Bacchus and the Pieta.
Michelangelo got one of the most beautiful representations of the human body in the history of art.
The sculpture represents a colossal teenager, 16.9 feet in height.

Fanny, Dolly and Charley, as he traveled through the parish. The French Canadian Richard
offered all the services in French, although he did present some of the homilies in English
beginning in 1906 . On March 23, 1896, the Francois Viguerie property was transferred to Sacred
Heart of Jesus Church. The property was one arpent (608.46) linear feet wide to the point of the
survey which was interpreted to be the 40 arpent line. The recorded deed is in the Terrebonne Parish

Viral Genetic Variation Lab Analysis
Title: Viral Genetic Variation Accounts for a Third of Variability in 1 Set Point Viral Load
Introduction: The extent to the pathogenesis of the human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV 1), or
HIV , has been studied for years. It is of large consensus to the medical community that any strong
predictor of the time showing phenotypic characteristics of HIV from the original transmission of
the disease can be predicted through assessing and evaluating the set point viral load (SPVL).
Depending on the subsequent viremia in the blood, biologists and medical professionals can
strongly predict the severity of the infection and future clinical outcomes.
The severity of SPVL is strongly associated with the genotype of the virus and its heritability ...

Researchers used a large data set of HIV genome sequences of over 2028 selected participants in the
study. Cohorts were broken down by age, sex, and mode of transmission. Using the data results, the
heritability of SPLV was calculated using common methods, which included the Brownian motion
model, parametric bootstrapping, and the OU model.
Results: Based on the SPLV of the sample size used for the study, it was determined that there is
a strong correlation between viremia and the genetic makeup of the virus with viral loads ranging
from 20% to 30% with the cohorts in the study. Thus, up to 30% of the variation in viral load is
explained by the viral genetic variation. When looking at the cohorts CD4 (cells that the HIV virus
kills), the heritability cell count is 11%. This result shows that this percentage is determined by the
virus s genotype.
In addition, the hypothesis that inconsistencies of the varying heterogeneity of SPLV in different
studies were a result of differences in viral genetics, differences in the host s genetics, and
calculation error as a result of incorrect methods were examined. After an assessment of the results
of the study, and the different methods uses, it can be determined that the difference in SPLV
heritability is not a direct result of genetic differences between large populations. On the contrast, it
was confirmed that there is a significant variability in viral load of an

advertisement there is a saying littering says a lot about you which implies that people who litterare

looking at the advertisement, people might think it is clever and witty, while others might think it
is rude and inappropriate to call someone lazy . I chose this advertisement as the artifact because I

Ethos is at works in this advertisement because the company is using their own credibility to stop
people from littering by implying that they are lazy . Pathos is being used the most in this
advertisement because the company is grabbing the audiences attention by using feelings. Some
people feel angry while looking at the advertisement because they don t want to be considered lazy
if they drop a wrapper on the ground instead of in the trash. Some people feel sad while looking at
the advertisement because they don t think there should even be an advertisement to tell people not
to litter. The audience gets these feelings because the speaker, in this case the company, grabs the
audiences attention by telling them they are lazy. Lastly, logos is at work in this advertisement but
it is being used with the audience instead of the company. They must think about the topic that is
being presented in the ad and the reasoning behind why someone would make an advertisement

socioeconomic status, education based factors, and other sociodemographic facets are most likely

findings. Demographics were taken into account and the mother s health during the duration of the
pregnancy. Another variable taken into account was household resources, whether or not they
received governmental assistance for food and housing. Then, parenting behaviors were measured.
How much time the mother spent with the child in a normal week running errands, reading books,
telling stories, and singing songs with the child was determined and the frequency of such
activities. Finally, the child s health and development is measured. The first measurement is at
birth, then the next is at nine months, and there s one at two years. The study describes the life
situations of teenage mothers and their children at nine months, then twenty four, to predict
behavioral outcomes at fifty two months. The results from the study are pervasive. Teenage

The United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
The United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, otherwise known as the EEOC,
is responsible for enforcing federal laws that make it illegal to discriminate against a job applicant
or employee because of the person s race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, gender identity, sexual
orientation, national origin, age if 40 or older, disability or genetic information. This also protects
individuals who have previously filed a complaint or charge related to discriminationor because of
personal involvement in an investigation or lawsuit concerning employment discrimination. This
coverage includes employers with 15 employees, but that number changes to 20 employees in age
discrimination cases as well as labor unions and employment agencies. The laws concerning EEOC
apply to all types of situations; hiring, firing, promotions, harassment, training, wages and benefits.
As EEOC as an organization, has the authority to investigate charges of discrimination against the
previously described employers who are covered by the law. The role the EEOC plays is to fairly
and accurately evaluate the accusations made by the employee and come to a conclusion. If it is
confirmed that discrimination has occurred, their job is to settle the charge in the appropriate
manner. If there is not sufficient evidence then it is their responsibility to file a lawsuit to protect
the rights of the employee filing the complaint and protect the interests of the public. Lawsuits are

supposed to represent a song of diversity. The diffrent types of jobs can be related to current day

Social Learning Theory and Its Application to Aggression...
Social learning theory proposes that social learning occurs when the individual views a modeled
behavior that they value, observes an act if the model has a role model or admired status, and
when a person imitates a learned behavior (Bandura, Ribes Inesta, 1976). The basic foundations of
the theory are applied to education policies, understanding psychological disorders, training courses,
behavioral modeling, in the media and has a plethora of further applications in today s society.
Another application of the theory is for criminals, violenceand aggression. Whether referring to
violence in the media, domestic violence, community violence, bullying and others, aggression and

This experiment was very controversial as Bandura sought to prove that aggression was learned
through imitation of others. Children between the ages of three and six were brought in to a
room with an adult in one corner and the child in the other. The child s side contained fun
activities while the adult s side contained a toy set, a mallet and a Bobo doll. The child was told
that the toys in the adult corner were only for the adults. In three different groups, children were
either subjected to an aggressive adult that would punch and kick the Bobo doll, a non aggressive
adult that would play with the small toys and ignored the Bobo doll and another group where no
adult was present. After the ten minute session the child was brought into another room with many
toys and after only two minutes, the child is told that they are no longer allowed to play with
those toys. The frustrated children were then brought back into the first room, where the
experiment sought to measure the physical and verbal aggression, the amount of times the mallet
was used as other forms of aggression and other forms of aggression that did not show imitation of
the original adult. The experiment found that children exposed to the aggressive adult were more
likely to act more aggressively than the others. The study also found that boys were much more
likely to be aggressive and that imitation increased when the model was of the same sex (Bandura,
Ross, Ross, 1961).

This data provides evidence that a rapidly growing population will lead to conflict. The REL4
solution will alleviate the overpopulation problem by addressing the need for contraceptives and
limiting all consenting adults to four children. The United States Census Bureau website
population clock stood at 7,424,919,320 as of 13:38 CT, 01 October 2017. In fifteen days the
world s population has grown by 3,372,370. The world can no longer continue to rapidly multiply,
because it is out of land and food.
For the REL4 solution to work education from public and private educators, public health
organizations, and corporation from a governmental licensing agencies will be needed. Public
health organizations such as health departments or primary care physicians will provide step one
in REL4. The first step, Reproductive Education (RE) is in depth sex education and use of
contraceptives, which will be given to all children when puberty is reached. This education will be
optional and only given with written consent from the parents. However, there are stipulations
associated with denial of the education, such as fines if the child has an unplanned pregnancy. A
governmental licensing agency will provide the second step, which will be when two consenting
adults are ready to conceive a child. This step in the solution is a licensing process that is required
in order to have a child.

extremely different story lines but jointly have one unique quality, the role of the woman. In each

Norma Jean and Jocasta do not realize until much later that neither are strong enough to overcome
these challenges.
A point comes where both Norma Jean and Jocasta believe that they have defeated their
obstacles. Norma Jean takes Leroy to Shiloh, a battlefield in the South, in hopes of telling him
that she soon will be leaving him and the marriage they once had. While picnicking near a
cemetery, Norma Jean builds up enough strength to finally tell Leroy, I want to leave you (500).
Surprising Leroy with this bold statement, Norma Jean thinks that she has acknowledged the
ending of their marriage, and the preparation for this moment has paid off. Little does Norma
Jean know of what is about to happen in her life. Jocasta also has a period of time when she
believes that she has won her fight. She refuses to let fate rule her life. Jocasta assumes that she
has defied fate when her husband, Laius, was supposedly killed by a group of men, and she had
her son killed to save her husband from this ill fate. Jocasta explains to Oepidus, one night, how

  • 2. A Brief Note On North American Aerospace Defense Command... A. Introduction NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) is always prepared to intercept hijacked airplanes with fighter jets, and are able to debilitate them or shoot them down Fact or fiction? This is a fact; however, on the day of September 11, 2001, four commercial airplanes were hijacked with the intent to crash into the world trade center, the pentagon, and possibly the white house. Three of these planes were successful on this mission and there is substantial evidence that NORAD knew about these hijackings, at least after the first one hit the World Trade Center. NORAD generals said they learned of the hijackings in time to scramble fighter jets. (NewsOne) Why did they instead choose to stand down? Obviously, NORAD was commanded by a higher authority to abstain from thwarting these men s attempts. This must be because the corrupt government of the United States either knew these attacks were going to take place, or they allowed them to happen to benefit from the after effects. The government may not have been completely behind the 9/11 attacks, but they most certainly had some part in it and had the capability to prevent them; therefore, we must consider the theories we could possibly believe, and those that we dismiss outright through analysis and contemplative thought. B. Background It is September of 2001. The United States has not been actively involved in a war in 10 years since the end of the Persian Gulf War(Kelly). The U.S. is relatively ... • 3. John Bowlby Attachment And Loss Essay Attachment: Attachment and Loss Volume 1 by John Bowlby, London, Pimlico 1997 In Attachment and Loss, John Bowlby presents his evolutionary theory whereby a baby enters the world pre programmed to form attachments to others in order to secure their survival. He examines the nature of the child s tie to his mother when proposing his theory and frequently refers to the biological sciences in particular ethology, the study of animal behaviour. This was a somewhat revolutionary approach in the field of psychoanalysis and resulted in Bowlby being referred to as the father of attachment theory. What Bowlby proposed is observations of the very young with particular focus paid to behaviour in the presence and absence of the mother, allows insight into the early phases of personality development. Chapter 2 describes a number of observations of children in different settings, such as hospitals, from the likes of Spitz Wolf (1946), Robertson (1962) and Heinicke (1956). They focused on the child s behaviour ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It concludes that the role of the mother in the early months of the baby s life is to keep the child in proximity, though it is worth noting that human foster parents of primates report intense clinging on the part of the baby, suggesting the babies are also predisposed to remain within proximity of the mother. Consequently, this suggests the development of an evolutionary trait that ensures protection by the mother therefore a greater chance of survival. In human children this is evidenced more clearly when the child begins to crawl. Ainsworth s (1963, 1969) observations seemingly confirm that a baby able to crawl, will use the mother as a secure base from which to explore their world. During their exploration, the child will frequently check for the mother s presence, also witnessed is the child s tendency to follow the mother when she begins to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. My Watson to His Holmes It was another typical Thursday night in the office Rudy was looking over his notes from the investigation, while I was re checking my personal notes to see if there were any differences. The force s own detectives are pretty lousy, so it s only natural that we were on the case. Besides, if it wasn t for the new sergeant that fired us both a year ago because of longstanding reasons , all of this wouldn t even be happening. Rudy has gotten over it for the most part, but I still hold a grudge to this very day. Stacy, I need a drink! Rudy yelled out from his desk. Yeah, yeah, I got ya covered. I replied. I set down my notes on the table, and grabbed the half empty bottle of whiskey which I stored in the kitchen. I noticed two shot glasses on his desk guess he really wanted to take a break. We ve been going at it for hours, so why not? I can t tell the last time I saw Rudy this enthused in a case there were stacks of folders on the table behind him, various photos of the victims pinned up on the board with names, descriptions, and other notable info, and perhaps the most glaring feature of his office the desk he was leaning on was buried in mountains of paperwork, evidence, and cigarette butts. Yeah, he s been hard at work. I m surprised that you actually found some time to take a break, Rudy. I said, pouring the drinks. Well, it was only eventual. he said, pushing the dossiers aside. He took a shot as soon as I finished pouring. He flinched a bit, but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Analysis Of George Miller s Mad Max Succeeding to composers Brian May and Maurice Jarre to score George Miller s fourth Mad Max film Mad Max: Fury Road . Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) delivered a score that mix new technologies and techniques with vintage scores cliches. Tom Holkenborg is a composer from the Netherland who has had a number of hits as a solo artist in the music electronic scene back in the late 90s and more this last decade for his work on film scores with his mentor Hans Zimmer. The pair have provided the scores for some of Hollywood s biggest recent blockbusters counting 300: Rise of an Empire , Man of Steel and The Dark Knight Rises among others. Certainly in Holkenborg s score for Mad Max: Fury Road we can hear an emulation of Zimmer sound . Zimmer create simple thematic sequence that he would repeat and make evolve all along the movie. He s also especially famous for blending electronic music sounds using computers and /or combination of synthesizers with traditional orchestral arrangements. He is particularly adept at blending diverse styles into a musical fusion of classical, pop and world music. His style is very much to create simple thematic material, and then give them the Zimmer treatment to craft them into highly effective pieces of film music embodying the mood of a film, such that music and movie complement perfectly. (Paterson, 2016) Holkenborg had a clear major vision for the score. He wanted to create an insane apocalyptic rock opera that has to be over the top ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Florence Nightingale Contributions Florence Nightingale was born May 12th, 1820 named after Florence, Italy, where she was born. At just one year old Florence moved to England because her father owned Lea Hurst, a country house, in Derbyshire and was extremely wealthy. When Florence was five years old, her mother Fanny convinced her husband to move to Emely Park where the Nightingales would have more entertainment. Although this made Fanny happy, Florence was miserable with the consistent guests and chatter. She preferred to be alone with her thoughts. Growing up she was only taught the things a good wife and mother would need to know, including; music, dance, needlework and art lessons. In the 1800s women weren t expected to receive an education based on the core subjects, they learned things that would help them become the best care taker they could be. Since Florence was considered upper class, it was highly unlikely for her to ever have a job. But as Florence grew older she became very neat and organized. She enjoyed numbers and placing data into tables. At the age of eight she taught herself French and always did the right thing because she believed that s what god wanted. Once Florence turned twelve her father, William Nightingale insisted on her and Parthenope, her older sister, to be well educated. William taught his two daughters the following languages; Latin, Greek, French, Italian, and German. Then he had them learn all about history, philosophy, ethics, composition, the bible, and mathematics. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Unraveling The Meaning Of `` Kill The Indian, Save The Man... Unraveling the meaning of Kill the Indian, Save the Man There are so many different definitions of the word racism, but how does each peron define it? One individual, Richard Henry Pratt, clearly knew how to thoroughly define the word, Segregating any class or race of people apart from the rest of the people kills the progress of the segregated people or makes their growth very slow (Howard 2016). Unfortunately, we are still living in the repercussion of Pratt s word. The United States history is full of examples that have led to the ethnocentric development of the country. One of the most remote examples of this ethnocentric belief is displayed with the construction of off reservation boarding schools for Native Americans first started in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, by former general, Richard Henry Pratt. The purpose of the schools was to strip Native Americans of their cultural traditions and teach them the skills necessary to function in American Society. Pratt keyed this belief with the saying Kill the Indian, save the man, in order to justify his reasons to assimilate the Indians to the white culture. However, were the American Indians really forced to assimilate because society wanted to help them, or because they wanted America to be solely made of true Americans with American culture? How was the assimilation of the Indians satisfactory when it created cultural genocide? Having assimilated the Indian man did not save him, it merely replaced him. There is a ... • 9. Ozymandias Poem Analysis Ozymandias is a poem written from the perspective of a man who has been told about a statue in the desert the statue is of famous powerful pharaoh Ozymandia, but it is now crumbling and destroyed. The poem explores how power can be arrogant and cruel, but ultimately can t last forever. The poem however is not aztualy about ozymandais, ozymandais is just a metaphor for all kings paricullarly George 3rd as he was in power at the time the poem was written. John agards poem, checking out e history is written from th prespective of a boy who is taught about British history in school but not about his own countries history. The theme of power is presented as the poem critiscizes those in power and effectively mocks the history he has been taught aboyt in school. The poem is also about how knowing your history is key t knowing your identity and knowing your identity empowers you. Ozymandias power is presented as being evil and cruel . The description of his statue s facial expression sneer of cold command suggests arrogance and shows that the slaves who built the statues purposely portrayed this look on his face to mock ozymandias. Also the writing which appears on the statue s pedestal: king of kings: Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair! shows how big his ego is. The phrase king of kings is used in the bible to describe jesus. So ozymandais effectively thinks of himself as god like . Shelley continues to portray this as he uses juxtaposition when writing the description of the statue as it is now a colossal wreck , which is in decay and shatter d . He emphasizes how the art work has outlived and utpowered O zymandais . Through the Poem shelley ontinues to show the poem of man weak .This contrasts with the images of art and nature, which he portrays as being superior and long lasting through his description of the artists skills which yet survive, stamp d on these lifeless things, and the neverending landscape boundless and bare, the lone and level sands stretch far away. Jafar Sadique, MBA, Southeast University Bangladesh 1. Introduction: International business is taking different shades and is unavoidable today. This dynamic world is rapidly changing to the extent that is has been reduced to a Global village . The truth is, we are going through the most severe global financial crisis since the days of Great Depression. Originated in USA, economic recession is affecting all the major players of world economy. Governments and major policy makers of world economy have taken notice of the urgency of the situation and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Over the years, many banks in the US started the practice of offering home loans to high risk individuals, i.e., individuals who had a high probability of defaulting on their loans. The banks justified this move by saying that even if these individuals defaulted on their loans, the amount could be recovered by selling off the property in question. Over a period of time, many of these individuals defaulted on their payments, as was expected, and the banks put the properties back on the market. However, when so many properties were put on sale at the same time, the property prices, which were already over inflated to begin with, plummeted. The unprecedented drop in property rates proved fatal for banks that had already invested most of their money in these speculative deals, and they were forced to close down. The collapse of these banks is just one of the indicative causes of the present recession. The roots of this recession can be said to lie in over inflated property prices, oil prices, and commodity prices. Artificially inflated prices are typical of a profitable market. When the market is doing well, the sellers eventually become greedy and raise the prices. All is well, as long as the buyers continue to be able to afford the inflated prices. However, the day the prices reach a level where the majority of the buyers cannot afford them, a crash in the prices, and consequently a recession, is inevitable. 3. (Quote Desmond Tutu) Vigilance is defined as the action or state of being alert and watchful. It is concerned both with what is and what will be. Thus it is important to be Vigilant in the army for many reasons. Not the least of which being it could keep you and your buddies alive despite the world s best attempts to make you otherwise. But it means more than just staying awake and alert at guard duty. It means both being mentally and physically prepared to react to changing conditions and to being aware and cognizant of the current conditions. There are three important categories to discuss here and expound upon. The First is Vigilance... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nursing demands vigilance about people. The sights and smells that a patient offers, their movements and their offhand comments all contribute crucial information to understanding what they need. Training and experience heighten one s ability to see what needs to be seen. (Quote Steven Amsterdam) But vigilance is not just a tangible watchfulness or alertness. It can be intangible as well. Vigilance TO duty means that you are not only vigilant on duty but about your duties. It means that you maintain a watch on YOURSELF as well as the world and others. That way you do not slip and begin to neglect your duties. This is just as important as being vigilant on duty. Making sure schedules are made and kept, responsibilities are divided up properly, records are updated, supplies are ordered and so on ad nauseam are all things you have to maintain vigilance over every day no matter your duty or post. It is an attention to detail that you resolve to maintain always. It is the sign of a professional and skilled person to be vigilant to your duties and on duty. Be vigilant; guard your mind against negative thoughts. (Quote by Buddha) Eternal vigilance is the price of eternal development. (Quote by Gordon B. • 12. Corinthians View On Marriage The imminent return of Christ was a topic of extreme importance to Paul, and significantly influenced numerous of Paul s letters. Also, various Bible scholars believe that the Parousia directly influenced Paul s stance on marriage (Harris, 2014). However, the question remains did this affect his views on marriageand the Christian life? • 13. How Does Catullus Show Creativity The human is capable of a plethora of emotions. With such emotions we are capable of expression that spans across many different forms. This emotional expression is found throughout history and fully enhanced by creative minds like Edgar Allan Poe, Daniel Dumile, and Seba Jun. These individuals are professionals at compiling entire masses of their inner emotions to create works that vividly express what they are experiencing. There are only a selective few who have been able to reach this level of creativity, and I believe that a specific Roman deserves to be recognized. Catullus displayed controversial themes in his work proudly, created art for those he loved, and confronted his adversaries without fear which inspires my artistic qualities. Catullus was not afraid of what he had to say in his poems. His expression could take very questionable routes, but he never seemed uncomfortable doing so. When he was partaking in describing one s purity, he was not scared of making the comparison of an anal cavity to that of a salt cellar. This uncensored projection displays many ideas on Catullus s character and his care for societal blockage. Firstly, it shows that he is willing to come out and say the exact thoughts in his head rather than change it to suit the sensitivities of society. Such... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The image of seemingly perfect celebrities and stars are heavily rotated, and have lasting effects on millions of Americans who are unhappy with their body image. Plastic surgeryhas become common amongst middle classwomen, and a rapid increase in male plastic surgery has been noted in recent years. Constant exposure to the perfect body image in the media puts harm in the very idea that the human bodycomes in all shapes and sizes. Despite the temptations of a perfect body and plastic surgery to fix imperfections, it is completely possible to maintain a positive sense of self while facing standards and expectations that are nearly impossible to obtain. The perfect body is an image that is put out by the media for both men and women. In our society, the standard for women is that they maintain slim bodies with certain features being larger. The standard for men is that they work out and maintain muscular bodies. Nancy Clark touches upon this concept in her 2004 article Mirror, Mirror on the Wall... Are Muscular Men the Best of All? Clark explains that men tend to see themselves as too small, and maintain a constant thirst to grow in mass. Muscle dysmorphia is a new syndrome emerging behind gym doors. Over the period of 2007 to 2012, the region has seen an increase of 60,000 hectares of irrigated farm land (Hills, 2013) due to the conversion of beef, sheep and crop farms to water intensive dairy farming. There has also been an increase of 58% in the number of dairy farms and a 31% increase in the average herd size of dairy farms (Burns, 2013). For maximum production, sufficient irrigation is required for dairy farms (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, 2000). Therefore dairying requires at least ten times more water than other farming practices (Ward McKague, 2007). Over the summer months of December, January and February, this irrigation increase would represent a decrease in the amount of stressed vegetation in the study area. • 21. Relationship between China-Japan, China-Australia and... In this section I will be detailing and comparing the relationships between China Japan, China Australia, and China Venezuela. I am first going to start with the relationship between China and Japan. I will begin with the time frame between the years of 1949 1969. During this time, China sees Japan as a threat, which is not surprising because of Japan s assault against China in the 1890s to 1920s, Japans brutal occupation of China in the 1930s and 1940s and Japan s role in America s containment strategy against China. China counters Japan by forming a military alliance with the Soviet Union in 1950. This alliance was indirectly directed at the United Statesbut primarily directed against Japan. China tried to encourage Japan to have better relations by playing upon Japanese war guilt and issues of Japanese behavior in the 1930s and 40s. This didn t work in the political dimension of the relationship. China felt that better relations with Japan would be useful, both politically and economically. But Japan would not normalize relations because of its close relationship with the United States and the nationalists. On the economic front, things were different, as trade started to grow. The countries are so close to one another that it made sense. Meanwhile, Japan is still recovering from the war, but is recovering rapidly and becomes an important potential partner for China. In the 1960s the forming of a trade relationship began. The two countries assign some memorandums of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Prenatal Development And Development Of A Fetus Prenatal development, also known as antenatal development, is the process of the development of a human fetus during pregnancy, from fertilization of the egg until the birth of the child. There are many factors that can contribute to the development of the fetus and many threats that can impact it. Most prenatal developmentoccurs in a normal manner, however; there are many things that can go wrong during this vulnerable time and usually are caused by genetic or environmental factors. While the hazards that threaten the development of a fetus can be easily steered clear of, dangers do exist and should be recognized to ensure the fetus undergoes complete and healthy maturation. The growth of the fetus that takes place during the nine months of prenatal development is a very important and susceptible time. Anything the mother is exposed or even ingests makes its way into the placenta and to the fetus. Some risk factors for prenatal development include the age and nutrition of the mother, exercise, and stress levels. On behalf of environmental factors that can have a negative effect on growth and development of the fetus, teratogens which are substances in the environment that can have a harmful effect on the development of the fetus (Stein, Kline Kharrazi, 1984) are the main environmental threats. • 23. Neorealism As A Response Of Realism Theory Devised By Hans... Neorealism in IR theory Neorealism has often been associated with Waltz (1979). Actually, neorealism is a response of realism theory devised by Hans Morgenthau (1948), which assumes that all affecting factors for cooperation and discord or peace and war are only under certain conditions (Keohane, 1986, p. 2 3). Neorealism has been the most prominent and influential approach in the field of IR theory since the early 1980s. Mikhail Gorbachev and Kim Il Sung were the examples of leaders that had neorealism approach in their foreign policy behavior (Malici, 2009, p. 132). Unlike realism, neorealism assumes that world politics is an anarchy environment. Anarchy here means the absence of centralized government (Waltz, 1979 ; Oye, 1985). In that sense, neorealism is an attempt to update and modify the concept of realism theory in international politics (Aliyev, 2011). In its development, neorealism experienced some additional concepts. These concepts are devised by many next generations of neo realist scholars, e.g. Oye (1985), Keohane (1986), Buzan (1993), Jervis (1997), and so forth with variations of definitions (Dibek, 2012). This essay uses the concept of neorealism from Waltz and its modification from Oye. The basic concept is that cooperation can still be developed under anarchy, or the absence of government, which associated with the occurrence of violence and lead to conflict (Waltz, 1979, p. 102 128 ; Oye, 1985, p. 1 24). Then, she counts down from five to three and writes down the three underneath, understanding that the number she ended on was the final amount; this is an example of cardinality. Even though the answer she finds is incorrect, Gretchen seems to trust the answer because of the validity that has been placed on this method, even though she made a mistake. The second method Gretchen uses is with base ten blocks, using a physical model to represent the problem. As Gretchen arranges the blocks into groups of 70 and of 23, she displays a grasp of the concept of tens and ones. Gretchen uses the grouping of 23 to have a physical representation of what needs to be taken away from 70 so that she can match up the quantities. Everyone will most likely experience one of these once in their life, but the real question is which one will you be? Although they bear many minor similarities, the differences between reckless and risktakers are obvious. Risk takers are people who represent the act of being cautious while at the same time realizing there s a slight chance of failing. On the other hand, reckless people show poor behavior such as being careless or acting foolish. A prime example would be NASCAR drivers. These professionals risk their life doing what they love, while at the same time being extremely aware of potential danger. Certain themes have emerged within the warring points of view as this drama unfolds. There is the blurring of the distinction between Islam as a religion and the acts of terrorism that have occurred on the political stage. It is being blurred in both directions. The terrorists are fusing the two realms while the Americans and their allies are trying to make a rigid distinction between actions motivated by hate and what they call envy of U.S. freedom versus Islam as a religion which they would like to view as uncontaminated by cultural and political context. This theme lies within the domain of the scholarly debates on reductionism. Researchers used a large data set of HIV genome sequences of over 2028 selected participants in the study. Cohorts were broken down by age, sex, and mode of transmission. Using the data results, the heritability of SPLV was calculated using common methods, which included the Brownian motion model, parametric bootstrapping, and the OU model. Results: Based on the SPLV of the sample size used for the study, it was determined that there is a strong correlation between viremia and the genetic makeup of the virus with viral loads ranging from 20% to 30% with the cohorts in the study. Thus, up to 30% of the variation in viral load is explained by the viral genetic variation. When looking at the cohorts CD4 (cells that the HIV virus kills), the heritability cell count is 11%. This result shows that this percentage is determined by the virus s genotype. In addition, the hypothesis that inconsistencies of the varying heterogeneity of SPLV in different studies were a result of differences in viral genetics, differences in the host s genetics, and calculation error as a result of incorrect methods were examined. After an assessment of the results of the study, and the different methods uses, it can be determined that the difference in SPLV heritability is not a direct result of genetic differences between large populations. On the contrast, it was confirmed that there is a significant variability in viral load of an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
