A Simple Approach Of Ann Based Ecg Beats Classification
A simple approach of ANN based ECG beats classification Abstract The automatic processing of ECG
for classification of heartbeat is presented in this paper. This work gives ability to the classifier to
classify the beats to one of the four classes as recommended by ANSI/AAMI EC57:1998 standard.
The beats are normal, ventricular, supraventricular and fusion. The data obtained from MIT BIH
database. Six hundred beats have chosen from each class. The accuracy, sensitivity, specificity and
predictivity for supraventricular beats are 96%, 90.8%, 97.7% and 92.8% respectively. For ventricular
beats they are 97%, 92.8%, 98.3% and 95.1%. For normal beats they are 98%, 96.7%, 98.6% and
95.9%. For fusion beats 95%, 92%, 96.1% and 88.7% respectively. These results obtained are an
improvement on previously reported results. Keywords ANN:artificial neural network; AAMI:

diseases are one of the most life threatening disease in the world now a days. The common method for
diagnosing cardiac diseases is ECG. ECG is simple, non invasive and cost effective tool for
diagnosing purpose. It is important to classify the beats properly to find out the arrhythmia.
Classification of heart beat is tedious and time consuming job therefore there is need of automatic
classification which assist cardiologist. Automated classification of heartbeats for diagnosing of heart

The Ethical Theory Of Consequentialism
Introduction
Consequentialism is one of the three main normative ethical theories alongside virtue theory and
deontology. In general, consequentialism holds that the right thing to do in any situation is determined
completely by its consequences. This includes everything that will happen in the world as a result of
the action.
There are a multitude of variations branching from this which may differ in what part of the
consequences they value; and as such have different value theories, but all will agree on the notion
that the ends justify the means. Leaving open how moral goodness is determined, we will look at act
consequentialism as the most basic form of the consequentialist theory. Consequentialism as a whole
faces a lot of criticism, this essay will look into the demandingness objection to act consequentialism
and analyse whether the theory can defend itself through the introduction of rule consequentialism.
Act Consequentialism
Act consequentialism claims the permissibility of an action is based on how good its consequences are
compared with those of its feasible alternatives.
An act is morally right if and only if that act maximizes the good, that is, an act is to be evaluated on
the basis of whether it produces the best possible state of affairs, impartially considered. If it does
produce the best possible state of affairs, then the act is counted as morally required (or morally
permissible if the act is one of many possible acts that produce a state of affairs

Taking a Look at Qatar
Over the past 50 years one country has stood out from the rest. From its abundant resource of oil to
owning one of the top soccer teams in the world. By choosing a different government system from its
surrounding countries and investing heavily. Qatar had the quickest turnaround from a fishing village
to one of the top GDP per capita, in the world. Qatar is currently the richest country in the world
today. Located in western Asia, next to Saudi Arabia and the gulf coast, a small peninsula is where
Qatar can be found. It is a part of Arab sovereign states and it is about 7,000 square miles. The people
of Qatar are called Qatari, only a few true native Qatari remains, most of the citizens there are
immigrants. Compared to its surrounding countries, Qatar has a different lifestyle than its neighbors.
Qatar abundant resources and choosing a different path from the rest of the Middle East has shaped it
to be one of the richest country in the world by incorporating a different government system,
managing their resources and its liberal culture. Qatar was once controlled by the sheikhs of Bahrain,
but in 1867, war broke out between the people and their rulers. To keep the peace in the Persian Gulf,
the British acknowledged Muhammad ibn Thani al Thani, to be the head of Qatar or also known as an
emir. In 1893, the Ottoman Turks made an invasion into Qatar, but it successfully deflected them. In
1916, the ruler agreed to allow Qatar to become a British protectorate. Oil reserves

Geoffrey Chaucer s The Shipman s Tale
The structure and characters of Geoffrey Chaucer s The Shipman s Tale warp the traditional in order to
create a thriving network for exchange. Stylistically, this particular tale utilizes common conventions
of the fabliau: sex, trickery, and poetic justice. That being said, The Shipman s Tale is completely void
of an overall moral message a key element in the genre. Instead, there is a focus on the presence of
male and female characters who work to fulfill an individual agenda, and on the [exploration of] each
other s intentions in cloaked terms... [and the avoidance of] direct commitment (Finlayson 342).
Chaucer rejuvenates the fabliau s structure, which allows the Merchant, his wife, and the Monk to
each assume the mercantile roles of borrower, lender, seller and purchaser of goods without seriously
harming their relationships (Finlayson 343). As a result, the meaning of the tale is not embedded in the
fulfillment of norms of this genre, but in its displacement of these conventions by focus on the
exchanges between the characters. John Finlayson points out that since licit and illicit sex are
paralleled with honest and dishonest trade... [The Shipman s Tale] only recognizes the non ideal world
of suspended moral laws, lustful hedonism and deceit , thus establishing the immoral series of events
between the Monk, the Merchant, and his wife as an acceptable reality (349). This common ground
between the three characters creates a community where the interchangeability of

Truth In Cormac Mccarthy s The Road
Denying what you feel will not make it go away. It ensures that it never gets resolved, (Denial).
Taking action on difficult situations allows individuals to combat reality and avoid unfavorable
circumstances. However, many people think that avoiding the truth means avoiding the situation,
equivalating that the circumstances are not real. This leads to other, more costly problems. Cormac
McCarthy s The Road is set in a post apocalyptic world where a father and son are journeying in
hopes to escape the destruction around them. Similar to McCarthy s book, Toni Morrison centers on a
young African American girl, Pecola, in The Bluest Eye, who hopes to escape the ill perceptions of

Passing by Nella Larsen is a story told in the perspective of Irene Redfield, a fair skinned African
American woman, who worries that her husband s restlessness in their marriage is due to a possible
affair with her friend Clare. As Irene gets ready for an event she thinks to herself: With this self
assurance that she had no real knowledge, she redoubled her efforts to drive out of her mind the
distressing thought of faiths broken and trusts betrayed which every mental vision of Clare, of Brian,
brought with them. She could not, she would not, go again through the tearing agony that lay just
behind her, (Larsen, ch. 3.2). Having no real knowledge if her husband s affair is true helps her to put
the thought in the back of her mind, however the reader finds that the affair is not real. This
imagination of Brian and Clare shows that Irene is mentally unstable, she does not like what she
imagines when she thinks of Clare, of Brian, the two together, yet it is better to handle then the agony
she faces at the thought of Brian s sexuality. The matter of his sexuality is something she refuses to
think about which is why she forms the theory of his infidelity to protect herself from the truth, yet it
only drives her deeper into insanity. However, Irene is not the only one who is brought to insanity by
the denial she creates. Toni Morrison s The Bluest Eye, tells of a young girl, Pecola who is African

Asymmetrical Relationship Between Government And...
In our reading of Illicit by Naim (2005), he suggests that the asymmetrical relationship between the
government and transnational crime groups create a struggle for the government to respond to these
transnational crimes at a decent rate (Naim,2005). On the other side our reading in McMafia: A
Journey Through the Global Criminal Underworld by Glenny (2009), suggest otherwise. Glenny
(2009) suggests that of a relationship between transnational crime groups, the public, the government
and this is a huge aspect to how the government responds to these factors. Both perspectives contain
their strengths and weaknesses, however the dependency theory by Glenny has more valid points than
that of the asymmetrical theory by Naim.
The asymmetrical theory by Naim says that the differences between the government and that of
transnational crime creates asymmetry (Naim,2005). Different government agencies are organized in a
hierarchical relationship that functions consistently from the top to the bottom (Naim,2005).
Governments must often follow legal processes that take up time and cost money. These governments
are forced to follow budget constraints, as well as legal and political reservation (Naim,2005). These
governments must operate within the control of their constitution. In comparison, these transnational
crime groups operate in less harsh structures, and are able to have more flexibility in their decision
making, as well as have unlimited funds available to them. The government s

If 3 million tickets are currently sold at a price of $5, approximately how much tax revenue could the

million Answer: C II. Problem 1) (P.53 #18) What effect does a $1 specific tax have on
equilibrium price and quantity, and what is the incidence on consumers, if a. The demand curve is
perfectly inelastic? b. The supply curve is perfectly inelastic? c. The demand curve is perfectly elastic
and the supply curve is perfectly inelastic? Ans: a. Use equation 2.28 from the text to solve for the
change in price. If demand is perfectly inelastic, the demand curve is vertical. The supply curve shifts
up by $1, and all of the incidence falls on consumers. Price increases by $1, and there is no change in
quantity. Since   0, dP/d  1. b. When supply is perfectly inelastic, the supply curve is vertical.
Thus, shifting the supply curve upward would have no effect on the equilibrium quantity or price paid
by consumers. Sellers would bear the entire burden of the tax. Since   0, dP/d  0. c. If the
demand curve is perfectly elastic (horizontal), and the supply curve is perfectly inelastic (vertical), the
effect of a tax would be no change in equilibrium quantity and no change in price paid by consumers,
and sellers would bear the entire burden of the tax. Since   and 

Analysis Of The Book The On Mortal Kombat By Kevin Wilson
In the stories that author Kevin Wilson wrote in Tunneling to the Center of the Earth, several
characters are ruled by fear. The fear that these characters have eventually winded up having a
solution or solve that helps resolve their fears. Fear is defined as: a feeling of agitation or anxiety
caused by the presence or imminence of danger. An example of fear in one of the stories is Leonard in
Blowing up on the Spot, because he fears death and it controls and restricts his life. Towards the end
of that story, Leonard finds his resolve of having that fear. The type of things that can lead to
resolutions of fear is epiphanies. In his short story, Mortal Kombat to boys was facing a fear like no
other. In his short story called Mortal Kombat the boys Scotty and Wynn are best friends and they both
have this fear of accepting they are falling for one another. In Kevin Wilsons short story, Mortal
Kombat the narrator says, It is simple and awkward at the same time, the way they proceed. There is
only the quickness of movement, the instinctive responses of the body. It feels like fighting; that is
what runs through both of their minds. It lasts all of two minutes, maybe less. (76). The kiss made
them realize they are maybe attracted to eachother and their feelings couldn t fight what they were
feeling anymore. This fear that each of them show towards the situation puts a restriction on their life
for awhile. The thoughts that are going thru scotty head while he is raking

The Application of Scientific Management in Today’s...
The Application of Scientific Management in Today s Organisations
INTRODUCTION
The principle object of management should be to secure maximum prosperity for the employer,
coupled with the maximum prosperity for the employee... (Taylor, 1911, p.9)
With those evocative words, Frederick W. Taylor had begun his highly influential book; The Principles
of Scientific Management indicating his view regarding management practices. As one of the most
influential management theorists, Taylor is widely acclaimed as the father of scientific management .
Taylor had sought the one best way for a job to be done (Robbins, Bergman, Stagg Coulter, 2003,
p.39). Northcraft and Neale (1990, p.41) state that Scientific management took its ... Show more

University, for training purposes.
Next is the task aspect, which means the work of every workman is fully planned out by the
management...and each man receives...complete written instructions (Freeman, 1996, p.35). This
aspect is also fully consistent with the practice of McDonald s where employees have virtually no
discretion regarding how to prepare and serve any item of food (Levitt, 1972; Draft, 1986, cited in
Bergman, 2004, p.22).
The next technique of individualized work, is based on Taylor s conviction that personal ambition
would supersede the desire for general welfare as an incentive to exertion (Whyte, 1969, p.5). This is
almost in complete contradiction with businesses like McDonald s, where the focus is on teamwork.
Then, taking a look at the technique of scientific selection, various research conducted has confirmed
the importance of scientific assessment of prospective employees. But while fast food outlets would
utilise some formal system, it is extremely unlikely that highly complex forms of scientific selection
would be used, given the simplified nature of the jobs. This enables the conclusion that this technique
is not broadly utilised in those outlets.
And the last but certainly not the least is money bonus. Money is an all time favourite form of
incentive, with various monetary incentive schemes in existence. Organisations, such as Burger King

To Kill A Mockingbird, And To Kill A Mockingbird
What does it mean to be oppressed? To be oppressed means to be have rights taken away, as a result of
discrimination. People can be judged by their race, financial situation, gender, etc. and can do nothing
about this discrimination because so many other people strongly believe in segregating the community
by the standards that they ve set up. The image of a tiny person next to a large thumb, the poem I Look
at the World by Langston Hughes, the excerpt from Never Fall Down by Patricia McCormick, and the
novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee all illustrate what it means to be oppressed. The tiny
person in the image, the person from the poem, the person from the the excerpt, and characters from
To Kill a Mockingbird have been discriminated by the people in their society.
Source #1, an image of a small person standing under a giant thumb, depicts a scene where the person
is ultimately helpless. The hand is about one hundred times larger than the person. If the individual
were to even try to fight against it, the thumb would squish it in an instance. The hand also wears a
cuff, indicating that it must belong to a person of high status. Because of it s high status, it can treat
people that he feels are inferior to him any way he wants, and it knows that it wields more power than
the person it s got under it s thumb. Consequently, the person under the thumb is forced to stand still
and behave the way society, or the hand, wants it to. Moreover, his rights have been

Personal Counseling Characteristics
My Personal Counseling Characteristics Capuzzi, Stauffer, and Gross (2016) highlighted the existence
of core conditions identified throughout the counseling literature and research as an essential piece of
the therapeutic relationship (p. 8). Possessing and demonstrating these characteristics and behaviors
strengthen the helping alliance and aid in effectiveness as a counselor when guiding the client to
achieve optimal wellness (Capuzzi et al., 2016). The following narrative outlines characteristics and
behaviors emphasized as strengths necessary when developing a therapeutic alliance with a client and
those acknowledged as potential challenges or weaknesses hindering the development of a therapeutic
alliance. Additionally, explanations are discussed for selected strengths and challenges as well as
strategies to address challenges and weaknesses.
An Area of Strength Warmth as a core concept essential to the helping relationship is regarded as the
counselor s ability to convey genuine caring and concern to clients (Capuzzi et al., 2016, p. 11).
Without this ability to convey warmth as a counselor, the counseling process will not be effective,
especially as I believe warmth is essential to building rapport and promoting an environment in which
clients feel comfortable disclosing intimate details of their lives. After all, a client may be more
reluctant to disclose intimate aspects of their life if they believe that the individual to which they are
disclosing does not

Candid View Of Leibniz s Optimism
A Candid View of Leibniz s Optimism
During the Age of Enlightenment, 18th century France was a hotbed of changing political and
intellectual thought. Many people began to question how things work and look to reason and science
rather than superstition and metaphysical thought for answers. Nontraditional thinkers known as
philosophes began to make their radical ideas public and soon European society was taken by an
intellectual storm.
The primary satirist of the French Enlightenment, Voltaire, was a deist and a renowned playwright.
Using his quick wit and talent with words, Voltaire satirized popular philosophy and political thought
through his most famous work titled Candide. With its fantastical and violent plot, the story served as
a public platform for Voltaire to criticize modern issues of religion, government and philosophy.
Specifically, Candide critiques the main ideas of German philosopher, Leibniz. Candide is a parody of
Leibniz dominant theory of possible worlds and pre established harmony. The plot assaults Leibniz s
optimism but provides some practical wisdom on how man should live. According to ... Show more

Voltaire wrote about the earthquake in Candide and also wrote a poem about the disaster to challenge

from saving a drowning character by reasoning that the specific place in which he was drowning was
created for the character to drown in. After the earthquake, Pangloss attempts to console the survivors
with the idea: things could not be otherwise... For, all this if or the best ... for it is impossible that
things should not be where they are, for all is well (241). Pangloss s unconvincing justification for
such great devastation weakens Leibniz theory that this world, where so much suffering exists, is the

Compassion In The Novel Hiroshima By John Hersey
Should you find yourself in a disaster, helping others is most likely not your first thought. The more
rational probe for a way to survive safely, they usually worry about themselves first, and others
second. In the Novel Hiroshima by John Hersey, even though many of the main characters are hurt,
run to assist others. Mrs. Hatsuyo Nakamura, Reverend Kiyoshi Tanimoto, and Father Wilhelm
Kleinsorge, who were in the thick of it lacked any authentic reason to help others, yet they still made
the effort to try. The disaster that befell Hiroshima was an atrocity, however, it did bring the
community closer. Compassion in all forms, enthralls those who have nothing to gain to help others,
regardless of the repercussions or sacrifices. Often times we think of our loved ones when disaster
befalls us. In Mrs. Nakamura s case, she thought of her children. After the flash tore down her house,
she immediately scoured the rubble to look for her youngest who cried out to her. After getting
everyone out safely, a neighbor approached her and asked her if she had any spare bandages Mrs.
Nakamura did not, but she crawled into the remains of her house again and some white cloth ... ripped

##pretation In Sonnets 18 By Kenneth Rexroth s Sonnet 18
Sonnet 18 by William Shakespeare is one of his seminal works, in which he compares his mistress to
many things that occur amongst nature. He says that she is more lovely and more temperate (than that
of a summer s day). There is no more grandiose metaphor than that of nature for nature has crafted its
beauty for epochs amongst the fiery hell that was the beginning of life. Even though nature is the
epitome of beauty, it s still imperfect or just simply, inconvenient. With this, he begins to negate the
natural world by saying that rough winds shake the buds of May, summer is too short, the sun is
sometimes too hot (or hides behind the clouds) and that everything that is beautiful will at one point
lose its beauty: but hark! Not his fair mistress! The volta in the poem brings a critical juxtaposition. It
highlights the important fact that his mistress supersedes all of the annoyances of nature. He says that
her youth shall not fade nor shall her beauty for the mere fact that she will live amongst the lines of his
humble composition for as long as there are humans, the poem itself shall live on, rendering his
mistress an immortal. All of this accumulates and proclaims a powerful statement of romantic
transcendence beyond death. Meanwhile, Your Birthday in the California Mountains (YBITCM)by
Kenneth Rexroth is a sort of quaint and passionate elegy for a late lover. Rexroth begins with
evocative and stimulating imagery of a scenic nature background during a dinner date. He

the money. Because of his young age he was forbidden to use a knife and was used for tasks such as
plucking chickens and washing vegetables. In truth his career as a chef only started in the 1970s when
he worked in a number of restaurants such as Fook Lam Moon. In 1984 he became the sous chef at the
Regent hotel Hong Kong and then advanced to executive chef just one year later, he continued to work
there for 15 years.

Gomer s Argument In Hosea Prostitution
Hosea married a woman with the characteristics that God had instructed him. In Hosea 1:2 God says,
Go, marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous wife this land is
guilty of unfaithfulness to the Lord So, Hosea married a woman, Gomer, who was a prostitute and
who bore 2 sons, Jazreel and Lo Ammi, and a daughter Lo Ruhamah. Gods instruction of marriage for
Hosea is suggestive of the fact that Gomer was a prostitute because God describes her as a
promiscuous and an adulterous woman. Further indication that may suggest that Gomer was a
prostitute in Hosea 3:3 where Hosea says, ...you must not be a prostitute...
I believe that the woman in Hosea 3 is in fact Gomer. This is because in Hosea 3:1 the Lord says,

Internet Software Piracy
Software is the programming language and the operative system that runs a computer and allows the
user to execute actions such as send and receive information through pictures, music, videos, text
messages, GPS coordinates, etc. Most of the software today require access to Internet before you can
download them to your computer. Internet has changed humankind in several ways, including the way
people illegally share media property to each other. In the past the unauthorized copyright of any
computer program or software was possible only through the physical exchange of disks or other hard
media either by mail or on the street. Today, based on a report issued by the Software Alliance (BSA)
in October 2009, Internet Software Piracy occurs when the Internet: is used to:
Access to sites to download copies of illegal software;
Promote and commercialize pirated software that is forwarded hrough the mail and email; or
Offer and transmit breaking codes and other tools to by pass anti copying security features.
This illegal activity is untraceable many times because the buyers of the illegal software are instructed
to pay and download the product through different websites. It is a

Uses Of Personification In The Visionary, By Emily Bronte
Throughout the history of the world, there have been countless heroes; perhaps, the least
acknowledged would be poets. Emily Bronte was a Emily Bronte was born on July 30th of 1818 in the
parsonage at Thornton in Yorkshire to the Reverend Patrick Bronte and Maria Branwell Bronte, the
fifth of six children after Maria, Elizabeth, Charlotte and Branwell. The family she was born into

Assisted Living Research Paper
The Topic of my research paper is How to Start Your Own Assisted Living Business. I choose this
topic because I have some experience in the health care field. I am a certified Medical Assistant and I
wanted to take my education to the next level. The Health care job market is on high demand and is
one of today s most dynamic fields with a wide range of opportunities. I came to realize that the older
you get in this country options for housing, health and personal care services become limited.
This information of choice fits in with my personal interest because I am very sympathetic,
affectionate, and eager to soothe hurt feelings, and not to mention my leadership skills have always
been great. An assisted living facility business ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

You have to first obtain an operating license required by the state. Once again each state is different
depending on where you want to open your business. You would have to go to your local States Health
Licensing board to determine what you need. This process involves inspections and interviews and
goes beyond the requirements for the average business. There s also a three hour training course on
Alzheimer s disease or any related disorders such as behavior management, assistance with activities
of daily life, activities for residents, stress management for the care giver, family issues, residential
environmental and ethical issues.
Assisted Living Homes are designed to provide residents with basic everyday assistance. An important
aspect is that assisted care facilities provide a safe and comfortable environment for older adults who
need assistance with duties such as bathing, dressing, shopping, cooking, grooming, arranging doctor s
appointments, medication administration and laundry services. These facilities have social and
recreational activity programs designed to keep the residents active. The recreation groups provide
residents with activities for enjoyment, exercise, and interactions with others to build character.

Evaluate the Claim That Migration Creates Global Connections.
Eleanor White C5206232 TMA 06 Option 1
Evaluate the claim that migration creates global connections.
In this assignment, the strengths and weaknesses of the claim that migration creates global
connections, will be discussed. This will be done by discovering what counts as migration and how it
is valued, how global connections can be both positive and negative, about the concepts of diaspora
and translocalism and how important they are when considering both migration and global
connections. To enable the discussion of the subject matter, it must first be understood what is meant
by the terms migration and global connections , migration is used to describe the circulation of people

If they choose to leave the country, or send money back to family in their country of origin, this means
that the money will leave its original economy and be positioned within another, affecting the original
economy negatively and the new one positively. There are many other types of global connection, as
stated before, someone can leave their country of origin to travel elsewhere, making new connections
with people on the way, this does not mean that all connections from their home are lost, they are
maintained alongside the new connections as they are made. Business connections are global
connections that can be viewed as both positive and negative, an example of this can be seen in
Raghuram and Hardill s study(1998, cited by Raghuram, 2009,p181) on female entrepreneurs, they
interviewed a business woman, who owned a small chain of stores specialising in modern clothing
based on more traditional Asian styles. The stores are predominantly based in the Western society,
with styles influenced by Asian culture, cloth sourced from China and the finished product being made
in India and then shipped to the Western stores, this is a great deal of global connections for one
garment, although by some standards, it is small. Most of the clothing sold by this particular
entrepreneur are aimed at young British Asian women, showing a global disconnection, as young

What Is The Role Of Mongol Rule In Russia
Until the end of the 15th century, the vast territories to the west of the Ural Mountains, what is now
known as the European part of Russia, were far from a single united state. Rather, it was a patchwork
of small principalities ruled by different princes, united in their faith under the Russian Orthodox
Church, but otherwise in fierce competition between themselves. The situation was complicated
further by the Mongol overlords, requiring regular tributes ever since they conquered most of the
Russian principalities back in the first half of the 13th century. On the other side, the Teutonic Knights
and the Swedes, sensing the lack of power and unity from the Russians, tried to conquer the Russian
lands closest to them. Squeezed between two formidable enemies, from East and West, the Russians
had to fight for the very survival of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ivan III the Great, the Grand Prince of Moscow was especially successful in this task, conquering
Novgorod, Tver and Pskov, thus tripling Moscow s territory after completely defeating the Mongols.
Eventually, through warfare, politics and marriages the Grand Princes of Moscow claimed to be the
undisputed and autocratic rulers of the entire Russian territory, with total control of economic, military
and foreign affairs, which are now commonly called tsars. Ivan IV the Terrible, was the first Russian
ruler to crown himself Tsar . Despite the fact that Ivan the Terrible had many positive characteristics,
he totally deserved the name terrible , which was given to him by the people. Although Ivan the
Terrible was a well educated and intelligent, and has conquered large new territories for the Russian
Empire, he is remembered as a cruel and heartless man, who held all of Russia in great

The First Cell Phone Call
The first cell phone call was made on April 19, 1973 by Motorola employee Martin Cooper, since then
cell phone have been getting more innovative and enhanced as times passes . When the cell phone was
first manufactured I don t think Martin Cooper, had in mind what wild, astounding, idea he had
brought to the light, and how much the cell phone would evolve over the years. The two powerhouse
companies responsible for most of the cell phones that are circulating around the world are Samsung
Apple, these two companies history with each other don t date back that far, but they have sued, and
tried to outsmart each other numerous amount of time. Over the years of the Samsung vs Apple have
sued each other for an amount of money over a billion dollars, and lawsuits stretching across four
different continents just to keep company safe, and free of copycats. The two backgrounds of the
company are very different and started during different periods of time, Samsung which was originally
called Sang hoe was founded in 1938 by a big landowning family by the name of Lee Byung chull,

Globalization And The Global Economy
For many of the world s population, the growing integration of the global economy has provided the
opportunity for substantial income growth. This is reflected not only in higher incomes, but also in the
improved availability of better quality and increasingly differentiated final products. However, at the
same time, globalization has had its dark side. There has been an increasing tendency towards growing
equalization within and between countries and a stubborn incidence in the absolute levels of poverty,
not just in poor countries. These positive and negative attributes of globalization have been
experienced at a number of different levels the individual, the household, the firm, the town, the
region, the sector and the nation. The distributional pattern emerging in recent decades of
globalization is thus simultaneously heterogeneous and complex. If those who had lost from
globalization had been confined to the non participants, the policy implications would be clear take
every step to be an active participant in global production and trade. However, the challenge is much
more daunting than this, since the losers include many of those who have participated actively in the
process of global integration. Hence, there is a need to manage the mode of insertion into the global
economy, to ensure that incomes are not reduced or further polarized. Many factors associated with
globalization will affect the distribution returns. For example, macro economic disturbances

ESTIMATION OF SALIVARY NITRIC OXIDE LEVELS IN CHILDREN WITH CONGENITAL
HEART DISEASES
INTRODUCTION
Heart disease is one of the most common developmental abnormalities among children, affecting
approximately 6 per 1,000 live births , .Dental management of children with congenital heart disease
requires special attention, because of their increased susceptibility to infectious endocarditis,
associated with bacteraemia induced by invasive dental procedures. Oral health in these patients is not
given due importance and thus they often have poor oral health. These patients also have increased
caries risk which may be largely attributed to the developmental enamel defects. , ,
There has been a mounting interest in the role of nitrates and nitrites in protection against oral diseases
particularly dental caries in the last few years. , There is a constant supply of concentrated nitrates, the
metabolic products of nitric oxide (NO) in the human oral cavity. It is generated either directly from
the physiological reduction of dietary nitrates or it originates from L arginine undergoing the reaction
catalyzed by inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) which is an enzyme expressed in salivary glands
and duct epithelial cells when induced by pro inflammatory stimuli. , , ,
Nitric oxide and its metabolic products, nitrates and nitrites, have been associated with various
deleterious effects in humans in the past decades. However, the recent evidence has suggested that NO

A Simple Approach Of Ann Based Ecg Beats Classification A simple approach of ANN based ECG beats classification Abstract The automatic processing of ECG for classification of heartbeat is presented in this paper. This work gives ability to the classifier to classify the beats to one of the four classes as recommended by ANSI/AAMI EC57:1998 standard. The beats are normal, ventricular, supraventricular and fusion. The data obtained from MIT BIH database. Six hundred beats have chosen from each class. The accuracy, sensitivity, specificity and predictivity for supraventricular beats are 96%, 90.8%, 97.7% and 92.8% respectively. For ventricular beats they are 97%, 92.8%, 98.3% and 95.1%. For normal beats they are 98%, 96.7%, 98.6% and 95.9%. For fusion beats 95%, 92%, 96.1% and 88.7% respectively. These results obtained are an improvement on previously reported results. • 3. The Ethical Theory Of Consequentialism Introduction Consequentialism is one of the three main normative ethical theories alongside virtue theory and deontology. In general, consequentialism holds that the right thing to do in any situation is determined completely by its consequences. This includes everything that will happen in the world as a result of the action. There are a multitude of variations branching from this which may differ in what part of the consequences they value; and as such have different value theories, but all will agree on the notion that the ends justify the means. Leaving open how moral goodness is determined, we will look at act consequentialism as the most basic form of the consequentialist theory. Consequentialism as a whole faces a lot of criticism, this essay will look into the demandingness objection to act consequentialism and analyse whether the theory can defend itself through the introduction of rule consequentialism. Act Consequentialism Act consequentialism claims the permissibility of an action is based on how good its consequences are compared with those of its feasible alternatives. An act is morally right if and only if that act maximizes the good, that is, an act is to be evaluated on the basis of whether it produces the best possible state of affairs, impartially considered. If it does produce the best possible state of affairs, then the act is counted as morally required (or morally permissible if the act is one of many possible acts that produce a state of affairs ... By choosing a different government system from its surrounding countries and investing heavily. Qatar had the quickest turnaround from a fishing village to one of the top GDP per capita, in the world. Qatar is currently the richest country in the world today. Located in western Asia, next to Saudi Arabia and the gulf coast, a small peninsula is where Qatar can be found. It is a part of Arab sovereign states and it is about 7,000 square miles. The people of Qatar are called Qatari, only a few true native Qatari remains, most of the citizens there are immigrants. Compared to its surrounding countries, Qatar has a different lifestyle than its neighbors. Qatar abundant resources and choosing a different path from the rest of the Middle East has shaped it to be one of the richest country in the world by incorporating a different government system, managing their resources and its liberal culture. Qatar was once controlled by the sheikhs of Bahrain, but in 1867, war broke out between the people and their rulers. To keep the peace in the Persian Gulf, the British acknowledged Muhammad ibn Thani al Thani, to be the head of Qatar or also known as an emir. In 1893, the Ottoman Turks made an invasion into Qatar, but it successfully deflected them. In 1916, the ruler agreed to allow Qatar to become a British protectorate. Oil reserves ... • 5. Geoffrey Chaucer s The Shipman s Tale The structure and characters of Geoffrey Chaucer s The Shipman s Tale warp the traditional in order to create a thriving network for exchange. Stylistically, this particular tale utilizes common conventions of the fabliau: sex, trickery, and poetic justice. That being said, The Shipman s Tale is completely void of an overall moral message a key element in the genre. Instead, there is a focus on the presence of male and female characters who work to fulfill an individual agenda, and on the [exploration of] each other s intentions in cloaked terms... [and the avoidance of] direct commitment (Finlayson 342). Chaucer rejuvenates the fabliau s structure, which allows the Merchant, his wife, and the Monk to each assume the mercantile roles of borrower, lender, seller and purchaser of goods without seriously harming their relationships (Finlayson 343). As a result, the meaning of the tale is not embedded in the fulfillment of norms of this genre, but in its displacement of these conventions by focus on the exchanges between the characters. John Finlayson points out that since licit and illicit sex are paralleled with honest and dishonest trade... [The Shipman s Tale] only recognizes the non ideal world of suspended moral laws, lustful hedonism and deceit , thus establishing the immoral series of events between the Monk, the Merchant, and his wife as an acceptable reality (349). This common ground between the three characters creates a community where the interchangeability of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Truth In Cormac Mccarthy s The Road Denying what you feel will not make it go away. It ensures that it never gets resolved, (Denial). Taking action on difficult situations allows individuals to combat reality and avoid unfavorable circumstances. However, many people think that avoiding the truth means avoiding the situation, equivalating that the circumstances are not real. This leads to other, more costly problems. Cormac McCarthy s The Road is set in a post apocalyptic world where a father and son are journeying in hopes to escape the destruction around them. Similar to McCarthy s book, Toni Morrison centers on a young African American girl, Pecola, in The Bluest Eye, who hopes to escape the ill perceptions of others in her struggle to fit beauty perceptions within her society. ... Passing by Nella Larsen is a story told in the perspective of Irene Redfield, a fair skinned African American woman, who worries that her husband s restlessness in their marriage is due to a possible affair with her friend Clare. As Irene gets ready for an event she thinks to herself: With this self assurance that she had no real knowledge, she redoubled her efforts to drive out of her mind the distressing thought of faiths broken and trusts betrayed which every mental vision of Clare, of Brian, brought with them. She could not, she would not, go again through the tearing agony that lay just behind her, (Larsen, ch. 3.2). Having no real knowledge if her husband s affair is true helps her to put the thought in the back of her mind, however the reader finds that the affair is not real. This imagination of Brian and Clare shows that Irene is mentally unstable, she does not like what she imagines when she thinks of Clare, of Brian, the two together, yet it is better to handle then the agony she faces at the thought of Brian s sexuality. The matter of his sexuality is something she refuses to think about which is why she forms the theory of his infidelity to protect herself from the truth, yet it only drives her deeper into insanity. However, Irene is not the only one who is brought to insanity by the denial she creates. Toni Morrison s The Bluest Eye, tells of a young girl, Pecola who is African American ... • 7. Asymmetrical Relationship Between Government And... In our reading of Illicit by Naim (2005), he suggests that the asymmetrical relationship between the government and transnational crime groups create a struggle for the government to respond to these transnational crimes at a decent rate (Naim,2005). On the other side our reading in McMafia: A Journey Through the Global Criminal Underworld by Glenny (2009), suggest otherwise. Glenny (2009) suggests that of a relationship between transnational crime groups, the public, the government and this is a huge aspect to how the government responds to these factors. Both perspectives contain their strengths and weaknesses, however the dependency theory by Glenny has more valid points than that of the asymmetrical theory by Naim. The asymmetrical theory by Naim says that the differences between the government and that of transnational crime creates asymmetry (Naim,2005). Different government agencies are organized in a hierarchical relationship that functions consistently from the top to the bottom (Naim,2005). Governments must often follow legal processes that take up time and cost money. These governments are forced to follow budget constraints, as well as legal and political reservation (Naim,2005). These governments must operate within the control of their constitution. In comparison, these transnational crime groups operate in less harsh structures, and are able to have more flexibility in their decision making, as well as have unlimited funds available to them. The supply curve is perfectly inelastic? c. The demand curve is perfectly elastic and the supply curve is perfectly inelastic? Ans: a. Use equation 2.28 from the text to solve for the change in price. If demand is perfectly inelastic, the demand curve is vertical. The supply curve shifts up by $1, and all of the incidence falls on consumers. Price increases by $1, and there is no change in quantity. Since   0, dP/d  1. b. When supply is perfectly inelastic, the supply curve is vertical. Thus, shifting the supply curve upward would have no effect on the equilibrium quantity or price paid by consumers. Sellers would bear the entire burden of the tax. Since   0, dP/d  0. c. • 10. Analysis Of The Book The On Mortal Kombat By Kevin Wilson In the stories that author Kevin Wilson wrote in Tunneling to the Center of the Earth, several characters are ruled by fear. The fear that these characters have eventually winded up having a solution or solve that helps resolve their fears. Fear is defined as: a feeling of agitation or anxiety caused by the presence or imminence of danger. An example of fear in one of the stories is Leonard in Blowing up on the Spot, because he fears death and it controls and restricts his life. Towards the end of that story, Leonard finds his resolve of having that fear. The type of things that can lead to resolutions of fear is epiphanies. In his short story, Mortal Kombat to boys was facing a fear like no other. In his short story called Mortal Kombat the boys Scotty and Wynn are best friends and they both have this fear of accepting they are falling for one another. In Kevin Wilsons short story, Mortal Kombat the narrator says, It is simple and awkward at the same time, the way they proceed. There is only the quickness of movement, the instinctive responses of the body. It feels like fighting; that is what runs through both of their minds. It lasts all of two minutes, maybe less. (76). The Application of Scientific Management in Today s Organisations INTRODUCTION The principle object of management should be to secure maximum prosperity for the employer, coupled with the maximum prosperity for the employee... (Taylor, 1911, p.9) With those evocative words, Frederick W. Taylor had begun his highly influential book; The Principles of Scientific Management indicating his view regarding management practices. As one of the most influential management theorists, Taylor is widely acclaimed as the father of scientific management . Taylor had sought the one best way for a job to be done (Robbins, Bergman, Stagg Coulter, 2003, p.39). Northcraft and Neale (1990, p.41) state that Scientific management took its ... Next is the task aspect, which means the work of every workman is fully planned out by the management...and each man receives...complete written instructions (Freeman, 1996, p.35). This aspect is also fully consistent with the practice of McDonald s where employees have virtually no discretion regarding how to prepare and serve any item of food (Levitt, 1972; Draft, 1986, cited in Bergman, 2004, p.22). The next technique of individualized work, is based on Taylor s conviction that personal ambition would supersede the desire for general welfare as an incentive to exertion (Whyte, 1969, p.5). This is almost in complete contradiction with businesses like McDonald s, where the focus is on teamwork. Then, taking a look at the technique of scientific selection, various research conducted has confirmed the importance of scientific assessment of prospective employees. But while fast food outlets would utilise some formal system, it is extremely unlikely that highly complex forms of scientific selection would be used, given the simplified nature of the jobs. This enables the conclusion that this technique is not broadly utilised in those outlets. And the last but certainly not the least is money bonus. People can be judged by their race, financial situation, gender, etc. and can do nothing about this discrimination because so many other people strongly believe in segregating the community by the standards that they ve set up. The image of a tiny person next to a large thumb, the poem I Look at the World by Langston Hughes, the excerpt from Never Fall Down by Patricia McCormick, and the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee all illustrate what it means to be oppressed. The tiny person in the image, the person from the poem, the person from the the excerpt, and characters from To Kill a Mockingbird have been discriminated by the people in their society. Source #1, an image of a small person standing under a giant thumb, depicts a scene where the person is ultimately helpless. The hand is about one hundred times larger than the person. If the individual were to even try to fight against it, the thumb would squish it in an instance. The hand also wears a cuff, indicating that it must belong to a person of high status. Because of it s high status, it can treat people that he feels are inferior to him any way he wants, and it knows that it wields more power than the person it s got under it s thumb. Personal Counseling Characteristics My Personal Counseling Characteristics Capuzzi, Stauffer, and Gross (2016) highlighted the existence of core conditions identified throughout the counseling literature and research as an essential piece of the therapeutic relationship (p. 8). Possessing and demonstrating these characteristics and behaviors strengthen the helping alliance and aid in effectiveness as a counselor when guiding the client to achieve optimal wellness (Capuzzi et al., 2016). The following narrative outlines characteristics and behaviors emphasized as strengths necessary when developing a therapeutic alliance with a client and those acknowledged as potential challenges or weaknesses hindering the development of a therapeutic alliance. Additionally, explanations are discussed for selected strengths and challenges as well as strategies to address challenges and weaknesses. An Area of Strength Warmth as a core concept essential to the helping relationship is regarded as the counselor s ability to convey genuine caring and concern to clients (Capuzzi et al., 2016, p. 11). Without this ability to convey warmth as a counselor, the counseling process will not be effective, especially as I believe warmth is essential to building rapport and promoting an environment in which clients feel comfortable disclosing intimate details of their lives. After all, a client may be more reluctant to disclose intimate aspects of their life if they believe that the individual to which they are disclosing does not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. Candid View Of Leibniz s Optimism A Candid View of Leibniz s Optimism During the Age of Enlightenment, 18th century France was a hotbed of changing political and intellectual thought. Many people began to question how things work and look to reason and science rather than superstition and metaphysical thought for answers. Nontraditional thinkers known as philosophes began to make their radical ideas public and soon European society was taken by an intellectual storm. The primary satirist of the French Enlightenment, Voltaire, was a deist and a renowned playwright. Using his quick wit and talent with words, Voltaire satirized popular philosophy and political thought through his most famous work titled Candide. With its fantastical and violent plot, the story served as a public platform for Voltaire to criticize modern issues of religion, government and philosophy. Specifically, Candide critiques the main ideas of German philosopher, Leibniz. Candide is a parody of Leibniz dominant theory of possible worlds and pre established harmony. • 20. ##pretation In Sonnets 18 By Kenneth Rexroth s Sonnet 18 Sonnet 18 by William Shakespeare is one of his seminal works, in which he compares his mistress to many things that occur amongst nature. He says that she is more lovely and more temperate (than that of a summer s day). There is no more grandiose metaphor than that of nature for nature has crafted its beauty for epochs amongst the fiery hell that was the beginning of life. Even though nature is the epitome of beauty, it s still imperfect or just simply, inconvenient. With this, he begins to negate the natural world by saying that rough winds shake the buds of May, summer is too short, the sun is sometimes too hot (or hides behind the clouds) and that everything that is beautiful will at one point lose its beauty: but hark! Not his fair mistress! The volta in the poem brings a critical juxtaposition. It highlights the important fact that his mistress supersedes all of the annoyances of nature. He says that her youth shall not fade nor shall her beauty for the mere fact that she will live amongst the lines of his humble composition for as long as there are humans, the poem itself shall live on, rendering his mistress an immortal. All of this accumulates and proclaims a powerful statement of romantic transcendence beyond death. Meanwhile, Your Birthday in the California Mountains (YBITCM)by Kenneth Rexroth is a sort of quaint and passionate elegy for a late lover. Rexroth begins with evocative and stimulating imagery of a scenic nature background during a dinner date. He ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
