Impact Of Innovation On Public Sector
Bason,C (2010) uses the term public sector innovation to refer to the process of creating new ideas
and turning them into value for society .(Bason,2010) then goes on to discuss about the value
public sector innovation holds and asserts that the public sector has four major components:
productive, service experience, results and democracy. (Bason, 2010, p.34)
There is evidence that innovation plays a crucial role in regulating in the public sector. Recent
developments in public sector organisations have heightened the need for innovation, so this essay
seeks to examine the use of innovation in key public sector institutions, e.g. healthcare and will also
identify the challenges and advantages of co production/personalisation and innovation in the
public sector.
Public sector innovation has less connotations with new product development and is more greatly
linked to enhancing efficiency and quality of outcome. It consists of internal organisational
procedures and structures leading, for instance to innovative ways to customer services which is
commonly labelled as client service innovation or examples such as new methods to attain clients
which is also described as marketing innovation . (Chryssou, 2014)
Pivotal examples of innovation include, new technological use, the desire towards public centric
procedures with the outlook to provide uncomplicated services and more suitability. Additionally,
employee empowerment which refers to granting staff permission to have

Wound Infection
2.1.1.Most common pathogenic strains that cause wound infection
The most common pathogenic strains that cause wound infection is Staphylococcus aureus (35%),
Escherichia coli (15%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (13%) and other bacteria (37%) (Amit Kumar
Gupta et al., 2015). In another study, Staphylococcus aureus has been reported as the major cause
of wound infection with (24.2%), followed by Pseudomonas aeruginosa (21.4 %), Escherichia coli
(14.8 %) and another different organism (39.6 %) (Jyoti Sangwan et al., 2016). Staphylococcus
aureus (Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus) is gram positive bacteria and can be a lethally
opportunistic pathogen or human commensal, it is one of the leading organisms causing a variety
of hospital acquired infection and community acquired infection (Brown et al., 2014). S. aureus has

difficult to treat due to it has an innate resistance to many of antibiotic and disinfection (Bangera

Jacques-Louis David s Influence On The Enlightenment
In 19th century France, the Neoclassical art style arose, influenced by the classical artistic style of
Greco Roman society. Around this time, France encountered many political, social and economic
changes brought up mostly by the lower class French citizens. Jacques Louis David was a highly
influential Neoclassical artist during this time. Commissioned by both Nobles and lower class
citizens of France, he created artworks such as the Oath of the Horatii (image 1), the Death of Marat
(image 2), and Napoleon Crossing the Alps (image 3). David s art represented the ideas of thinkers
of that time rather than just the ideals of that time. The purpose of David s art was to gain the
support of French citizens through artistic propaganda in order... Show more content on

Due to the time period in which David created art, some ideals of the enlightenment may have
been depicted, this, however, wasn t the main motive of David s art. The enlightenment was a
radically new synthesis of ideas about humanity, reason, nature, and God that had arisen during
classical Greek and Roman times and during the Renaissance (Stokstad 898). In Napoleon
Crossing the Alps, the central figure of the painting is Napoleon. He was a war general who
gained popularity through conquest before making himself emperor in 1804. In the painting, he
is the largest and clearest figure depicted. This painting goes against the ideas of the
enlightenment such as separation of powers, where power is split across three branches equally
so that no one person would hold too much power, which was a widely held ideal during the time
(Spielvogel 28). This painting does, however, serve as propaganda to depict Napoleon as a
strong leader because he is appearing to stay still and calm on a moving horse in order to show
that even through chaos he will remain a good leader for his people. Napoleon Crossing the Alps
conveys that the purpose of David s art wasn t to depict the ideals of the enlightenment, but to
influence the audience and to be used as

Analysis Of Tally Youngblood In The Uglies By Scott...
In the fiction novel The Uglies, Tally Youngblood is a fifteen year old girl with a rebellious
spirit who lives life on the edge of insanity. In The Uglies, Scott Westerfield uses conflict to
reveal how Tally s perspective of the Smoke and New Pretty Town has changed over the course
of the story. This story gives its reader a strong insight into some of life s adventures and the
drama that comes along with growing up, as well as the operation you get when you turn 16
years old. You can see Tally change when she firsts starts traveling to the Smoke in search of her
friend Shay. She changes a lot from the life and death stuff that she goes through on her way to
the Smoke. Tally almost falls off the cliff when she is hover boarding, and you can tell it
changes her from going fast and not reading between the lines, so she starts to slow down and
think before she acts. You can really see Tally change when the Rangers save her from the fire that
they started to get rid of the white tiger orchid flower. The white tiger orchid is a flower that acts
like a weed, and it is spreading all over the world. The only way to get rid of it is by fire, and that is

Determination Of Copper Sulphate Using Colorimetry Lab Report
Finding the concentration of an unknown sample of copper sulphate using colorimetry.
In this task the concentration of an unknown sample of copper sulphate using colorimetry was
used to find the concentration. In this investigation copper sulphate was used which is
CuSO4.5H20 as a formula. To make a standard solution which was 1M, the same clean equipment
was used to make up the standard solution as used to make sodium carbonate. However there was
one difference and that was that the hot distilled water was used to dissolve the copper sulphate
crystals. There had to be enough hot water in order to dissolve the crystals into the beaker and then
add cold distilled water to cool the solution.
After this, the solution was poured into a volumetric flask just about to the 1dm3 line and then it
was left there to cool to the same temperature as the room before filling precisely to the 1dm3
line with distilled water. The molar mass of CuSO4.5H20 was 249.5 so that means 249.5g of
copper sulphate was needed to dissolve, in order to make a standard solution, into 1dm3of distilled
water. Following this, a linear dilution of the CuSO4.5H2O was made in order to be used to make
a calibration curve after using the colorimeter to write down the absorbance of each sample. A
linear dilution is diluted with distilled water in order for it to make the concentration weaker and
weaker. For this investigation, the dilutions made ranged from 0.01 to 0.1 M/l . It was essential to

Analysis Of In The Shadow Of The Banyan
1.5 to 3 million cambodians died in the Cambodian Genocide. These tragic events are shown in In
the Shadow of the Banyan by Vaddey Ratner. In this novel the reader is in the perspective of a
seven year old princess, Raami, as she lived through the genocide. As the Khmer Rouge a heartless
group destroyed Cambodia. The group Dehumanized people, took everything from it s citizens, and
split up families. As the Khmer Rougebegan their surge to make a single class society , they chose
to strip the citizens of every item they owned and all personal property they had. This is shown
when the family is at their country house called Mango Corner. three Khmer Rouge soldiers
burst into the house, waving their guns, shooting, and shouting , GET OUT! GET OUT!
(Ratner 51). Kicking the family out for no specific reason but to disrupt the family. Not even
making it clear where they really could go. They were lost like a stranded dog without a home.
This is seen once more moments later, Then his eyes caught the glint of Big Uncles watch
flashing in the sunlight. An omega Constellation...Off! The boy shouted. Big Uncle made no
move. TAKE IT OFF! The boy thundered. Finally Big Uncle lowered his arms, took the watch
off his wrist, and handed it to him. (Ratner 52). The soldier had no reason for taking the watch
from Big Uncle besides the fact that he could. This was shown again when Raami was at Ksach,

Composition As A Write Of Passage By Nathalie Singh-Corcoran
Relatability vs. Evidence
Composition 1, also known as English 101 or FYC (First Year Composition) is an entry level
course taken by a majority of college students to introduce them to college level reading and
writing. FYC is a prerequisite course at many colleges and universities and therefore must be taken
before students can enter into courses specific to their major. Though FYC serves as a bridge to
college level reading and writing many students and even some compositionists (those who teach
writing in a college or university) do not see the relevancy of the course and instead view FYC
as a course with very little applicability within the majors and future careers of college students.
Others, including Nathalie Singh Corcoran, believe FYC is a crucial prerequisite course that
does teach skills crucial to the futures and lives of college students. In her essay, Composition as
a Write of Passage, Nathalie Singh Corcoran first, speaks to the purpose and overall goals of an
FYC course before explaining how the skills learned in FYC can actually be applied to the
majors and future careers of college students. From the very beginning of her article, Singh
Corcoran establishes a strong foundation from which she can reach her main audience, but, she
fails to support her main points in the best possible way by a very sparse use of non anecdotal or
personal experience based evidence.
Above all, Singh Corcoran is highly successful in reaching her main audience, college

Essay about Compassionate Care
The purpose of this essay is to look at barriers of compassion and what nurses could do overcome
these barriers. Three sub topics will be looked at over the course of this essay and a conclusion
will be made to evaluate these essays findings and to provide some input into battling these barriers
so that patients can receive high standards of patient care.
The definition of compassion in the oxford dictionary is sympathetic pity and concern for the
suffering or misfortunes of others . Oxford dictionary (2013) However senior lecturer Penny
Harrison says there is no accurate definition for compassion as it is a word that can be understood
in different ways. Harrison, P. (2009)

Compassionate care is a big talking point right now in the media and within the healthcare sector
with the Francis report being published earlier this year regarding the failings by Mid
Staffordshire and Scotland are now waiting for their own report to be issued regarding the
failings at the Vale of Leven in Dumbarton. The nursing and midwifery council have already
started on some the imperative changes to be made that the Francis report issued. The chief
executive of the nursing and midwifery council has said in her executive statement regarding the
Francis report that they are to re examine the current teaching that nurses receive and the
professional standards. Smith, J. (Nursing and Midwifery Council) all of these failings are all
relate d to compassionate care. The people who died in these hospitals were clearly not heard
when they complained of feeling unwell and did not receive compassionate care so why was this?
Next to be discussed is compassion fatigue and how this may reflect onto nursing practice in
providing sufficient compassion.
Compassion fatigue is widely known in the health care profession. Nurses working overtime and
long working days to provide care for the patient and the patient s families are a continuous stress
on a nurse s emotional and physical well being especially if the nurse is providing the patient with
end of life care as this contributes to both physical and mental work. Vital

The Importance Of Work Place Culture And How It Has A...
People will typically be more enthusiastic where they feel a sense of belonging and see
themselves as member of a community, in comparison to a workplace in which each person is
left to their own devices Kohn (1999 pg. 188). This outlines that when people have a sense of
belonging they will thrive, and demonstrates the importance of work place culture and how it has
a large influence on if a business is successful, in the same way that Cameron and Quinn
explained (2011) that some of today s successful firms have developed a distinctive culture that is
identifiable by its employees, for example Disney. In early years settings this sense of belonging is

Another major factor is how the individuals will play a role in how the communication is received,
for example their role within the setting. This is supported by Tylor and Van Every (2000) when
they stress that with clear and concise communication between employees an organisation can
emerge and grow. Schins (1985) explained in his model that there are three basic levels of
elements for culture , described as layers. One of these is artefacts which are the visible
elements like uniform worn by staff and children which shows a group presence and aides
belonging, providing a sense of family, furthermore there is organisational structure, the manager
leading the setting with their values which are fed down through the deputy to the early years
practitioners, through strategies and goals set by the manager, and any policies and procedures
the setting follows. One of these is what the setting stands for which is for all children to be
happy and to achieve, another one is where the setting aims to be in the future. Which in the case
of early years is striving to achieve the highest grade with OFSTED, if staff feel valued and
confident in their work this will influence a more positive attitude in their behaviour and
feelings, and will want to achieve more as a whole.
Hofstede (1980) suggested that settings need to consider the individual values of the employees
and their personal values and they should be encouraged and not criticised to make a

Buzz! All three of our alarm clocks go off. Chantele and I had the hardest time waking up since

Is Meditation A Waste Of Time
Last week I received a comment in one of my meditation related article, where someone mentioned
that meditation is a waste of time, rather than doing meditation it s better to hang out with friends
where you can feel comfortable and relax.
I don t completely disagree with the above fact, but yes I was completely shocked when I received
that comment, I thought meditation is quite globally accepted. But I was wrong. So I thought to
write about why meditation is important in this article.
Where from Meditation came into my picture?

The word Meditate came from the Latin word meditДЃtus (to engage in thought or contemplation;
reflect)
Meditation carries a rich history with it. You can find its roots up to 1500 BCE. Most of the early
scriptures indicate that meditation came from the Hindu tradition of Vedantism.
Do Meditation Relates To Religion?
This is the most common question asked by the people; Do meditation has any roots with religion,
the answer is N0. It doesn t. It just a part of purifying your heart and soul from the negativity it
received outside the world, and helping you to connect with your soul.
So what is Meditation?
I will not go through any definition or explanation; I will write what I experienced and what helps
me, so in my way Meditation is the process which helps us to connect with our soul. It s a process
to eliminate our negative thoughts; expand our thinking about life, a ray of hope in the darkness,
and nectar for a dying soul.
What Is The Process Of Meditation?

Descriptive Essay About Santa Inez Mountains
Most everyone who has toured coastal California is familiar with the Santa Inez Mountains that
form the striking backdrop for the city of Santa Barbara. But not everyone has been in (or on)
those mountains, and that s where the true magnificence lies. Have you? One such journey begins
on Gibraltar Road near the upper edge of the city, just above the Santa BarbaraMission. The trip is
breathtaking as it winds its way through several different climate and flora zones on its way to La
Cumbre Peak, a pine shrouded crest 4000 feet above the palm laced ocean.
I leave my car at the 700 foot level, and begin the slow, lung expanding crank to the peak. Soon
my breathing becomes rhythmical as I establish a pattern and begin to gain elevation. I hadn t
been on this road for several years, and in the interim, it has been freshly paved which makes for
nice cycling. Along this initial stretch, there s a new home every half mile or so, each one
expansive, elegantly landscaped, and blended into the landscape to minimize its obtrusiveness.
After a mile or so the road snaked to the east, as it continued it s serpentine track around the edge
of appropriately named Rattlesnake Canyon. At the 1700 foot level I made a major switchback to
the west past a host of No Shooting signs. Although I could see no reason for the warnings, at any
point on the road a shooter could have his way with a road sign, tree limb, or some living thing,
nonetheless the authorities found it worthy of

Perception Is Everything By Toni Morrison
Perception is Everything
Perception is everything. People never know what is going on with the another race or side. In
Toni Morrison s Recitatif she brings up racism and the societal normal. She never reveals the race
of either of the girls in this story. Never knowing the race of the girls other than they are two
different races shows how one race never knows that the other is thinking about or where they are
coming from. In this story, two girls meet from very different back grounds and different races and
become friends, then go separate directions. They continue to meet throughout their lives and try to
rekindle the childhood friendship as adults. This shows how children do not know the differences
or the color lines that society has put into place. As children, gender, race, and religion is never an
issue. Racism is something that society has created. Society has made racism one of the main
barriers throughout the world. In the story, the two girls are friends and live in a group home. The
girls are witnesses to some bad things carried out by the older girls in the home. They end up
separating and going different ways in life. When they meet up later, while rekindling their
relationship they begin to reminisce about their childhood. They come to find out that their
perception and memories do not exactly match up. The way things are perceived can change an
outlook on life; after finding out how others see the same situation, it might change who you are

Nursing Sensitive Indicators Are Defined By The American...
Nursing sensitive indicators are defined by the American Nursing Association (ANA) as indicators
that reflect the structure, process and outcomes of nursing care (ANA, 2014). These indicators help
define how nursing care is given by measuring the amount of nursing staff, skill level of the nursing
staff, and the education level of nursing staff. These indicators depict the quality of care provided to
patients and the outcomes of the care provided. Careful tracking of these indicators provides
evidence for keeping current practices or for implementing new policy and procedures. A formal set
of indicators measuring the impact nursing interventions have on patient care was not implemented
until 1998 (Montalvo, I. (2007). With the establishment of the National Database of Nursing
Quality Indicators (NDNQI), hospitals and other care settings are able to assess how nursing
interventions impact patient outcomes, quality of care, and the overall work environment in health
care facilities. Nursing sensitive indicators are a quality improvement measure used to determine
how the quality of nursing care is evaluated in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Nurse
sensitive indicators allow healthcare facilities to evaluate how the care they are providing is
following evidence based practices and how they can improve their practices to achieve better
patient outcomes. The American Nurses Association is promoting these indicators as the definitive
standards for patient care

Semiothic Of The Kitchen, By Martha Rosler
Semiothic of the kitchen is a video art produced by Martha Rosler in the 1975. This video is a
classic piece of feminist art work. During 1960s , women was expected to marry in her 20s.
They were expected to follow this path and devote their life to homemaking. This make the

reason, this feels unfair and make them feel unwelcomed and limited in every respect. Martha

Character Analysis Of Willy Loman
Willy Loman is a salesman who travels from place to place. Willy Loman is not only a salesman
but a loved husband and father. He is married to Linda Loman and they had two boys named Biff
and Happy Loman. Throughout the play Willy Loman is portrayed of having ambition, hard
working , and also having high expectations for his kids. In the play Willy is seen as a character
with ambition, I ll have to send a wire to Portland. I m supposed to see Bown and Morrison
tomorrow morning at ten o clock to show the line. Goddammit, I could sell them! (Miller Act I:6).
At this part of the play Willy Loman is insisting that he can sell which portrays him of having
ambition because he believes in himself, knowing he can accomplish his goal. Willy is also hard
working, he works hard to maintain his middle class lifestyle and his family, A small man can be
exhausted as a great man. He works for a company thirty six years this March, opens up unheard
of territories to their trademark, and now in his old age they take his salary away (Miller Act
I:39). According to Linda, Willy has worked for thirty six years which makes him hardworking
because all Willy tries to is to provide for his family. The relationship between Willy and his two
kids, Biff and Happy Loman, is that Willy has high expectation for them especially towards his
older son Biff. Biff Loman is lost. In the greatest country in the world a young man with such
personal attractiveness, gets lost. And such a hard worker. There s on thing about Biff he s not
lazy (Miller Act I:8). Biff Loman has recently let down his father because he did not fulfill what
his father wanted him to be, a businessman. Willy expects both of his sons to become great
successful businessman. Charley and Willy are both neighbors, in the play Willy struggles to
make payments for his house and every time he struggles he goes to Charley to borrow some
cash. Charley, look... (With difficulty.) I got my insurance to pay. If you can manage it I need a
hundred and ten dollars (Miller Act II:69). Charley is portrayed as Willy s safety net because
without Charley Willy would have been having lots of financial problems and not holding up a
roof for his family. Charley has a son named Bernard

Ambassador Usain Bolt Research Paper
One of my most memorable moments was Jamaica s performance in the 2008 Olympics where
beloved Jamaican Sprinter and Ambassador Usain Bolt, set three world records and won three
gold medals. I am Jamaican by birth and like all other Jamaicans Usain Bolt holds a special place
in my heart because of his will, grit and tenacity. Every record they said he wouldn t break he has
broken and then went on to break his own records and every criticism he has received he has let
roll off his shoulders and continue to perform outstandingly and with style. Bolt brought track
and field into a different era when he won in 9.69 s with a reaction time of 0.165 s in the 2008
Olympic 100m final. In doing this he broke his own world record, and finished well ahead of
second place finisher Richard Thompson, who finished in 9.89 s. This record is even more
remarkable because it was set without a favorable wind (+0.0 m/s), and towards the finish line he
slowed to celebrate and his shoelace was untied. In fact, sans these factors and considering his
position, acceleration and velocity in comparison to his competitors; his coach and the Institute of

third leg of the Jamaican 4x100 meters relay team, his number of gold medals increased to three

Olympic and World record, by three tenths of a second. He left the 2008 Olympics having broken 3

Disadvantages Of Integrated Care
Integrated care can mean different things to different people. Integrated care reflects a concern to
improve a patients experience and achieve better efficiency and value from the delivery of care. It
aims to provide a seamless, better coordinated and consistent care (Shaw, 2011: 6). An interlinked
approach has been strongly endorsed in governmentdocuments recently as effective methods to
link care is a pressing policy concern. However moves towards integration have been treated with
suspicion and scepticism by many due to the barriers and challenges which are still open for debate
(Birrell, 2006).

The NHS system in Scotland has had an integrated structure since 2004 yet local authorities
continue to take on the responsibility of social care. A few years later Wales followed Scotland in
2009 with the formation of unified local health boards (Goodman, 2012). The Government has
specified that it is dedicated to making evidence based integrated care. In 2014 they planned to
invest ВЈ1 billion through the Better Care Fund . This intends to link up health and social care
services between the NHS and local authorities (Glasby, 2016). The aim is to allow more people to
be cared for in the community and ultimately save the health care money. Different areas are
progressing at different levels with levels of ambition ranging (Glasby, 2012). The Kings Fund

dedicate urgent priority to investing in approaches that measure the experiences of patients, carers

Abraham Lincoln Thesis
Abraham Lincoln
Harleen Dhillon
Throughout the history of presidents, the united states have had a lot. Having all those presidents
some tend to stand out more than one another like Abraham Lincoln.
Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, was born on February 12th, 1809. He
was born in Kentucky while growing up he didn t live in a wealthy family; his family was very
poor. His parents were Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Hanks were both farmers, Abraham had one
brother and one sister. Lincoln lived in a small log cabin while growing up, just with one room.
At that time slavery was legal in Kentucky, but Lincoln s father refused to own any slaves due to
being a religious Baptist. Lincoln helped his father grow his farm during all of his childhood.
Just when Lincoln was 22 he left his house and moved to New Salem. While he was there he
works in a general store. Later on, he decided to go to school to get some education. Lincoln had

Western And Western Saddles
According to society, Equestrians are jockeys that race around a track. But to anyone who s
actually ridden or has a passion for horses, you know that there are two distinctive styles of
riding English and Western. There are both similarities and differences between the two types of
riding. Regardless of the style of riding people participate in or favor, each world of riding opens up
various activities for the rider to enjoy.
The most obvious difference between English and Western ridingis the tack itself. Most people
associate Western riding with cowboys and herding cattle. The Western saddleis a larger, heavier
saddle with a horn in the front. The saddle is more comfortable and easier to sit in, to provide a
more comfortable seat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, English style horses tend to be taller and many are leggy, aiding their ability to
travel over long distances at a variety of speeds as well as jump over a variety of obstacles
(Blocksdorf 2016). English horses are normally lighter and taller to give them an advantage over
jumping fences and performing in cross country. Western horses and stockier and they tend to be
shorter than English horses. Western horses tend to be compact and capable of steady travel all
day with small bursts of speed to chase stray cattle (Blocksdorf 2016). Of course, a Quarter horse
can participate in the English discipline, and a Dutch Warmblood could participate in reining, but
those breeds are usually specifically bred for either English or Western disciplines. A similarity
between English and Western riding is the posture. Both types of riding require the rider to sit
up straight in the saddle and have their heels down. Comfortably and securely sitting in the
saddle requires you to keep your hands down, tuck your elbows in, and push your shoulders
back. Good posture in the saddle is essential to riding correctly. For example, A balanced rider is
able to maintain this center of balance through all paces. I call this the independent riding posture .
The riding posture is the position the rider establishes in the saddle, at all paces. An independent
riding posture gives the rider a stable base allowing them to use their legs, seat, and hands

Essay on Dialects in American Literature
Dialects in American Literature
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries dialect was not common in American Literature. Writers
who attempted to accurately capture American dialect and slang often failed to make it believable.
In my essay, Dialects in American Literature, I will compare and contrast three writers who used
dialect in their writings and explain the difference between effective and ineffective use of dialect.
The writers I will be discussing are Mark Twain, BretHarte, and William Dean Howells.
The use of dialect in American literature comes from using a combination of realism and
regionalism. According to dictionary.com realism is an inclination toward literal... Show more

In The Outcasts of Poker Flat, a group of inappropriate people are thrown out of a small western
town. What I mean by inappropriate, is that they were not liked by the local citizens. They were
considered outcasts. The outcast characters were, quot;Duchess, also known as quot;Mother
Shipton, quot; and quot;Uncle Billy, quot; a suspected sluice robber and confirmed drunkard. The
other character in the story is Mr. John Oakhurst, a gambler. Bret Harte establishes regionalism
through description of his characters and also the dialogue that he gives his characters. For
example, Uncle Billy says quot;Is this yer a d d picnic? quot; With inward scorn, as he surveyed
the sylvan group, the glancing firelight, and the tethered animals in the foreground hurst returns to
the group he speaks in a particular dialect.
This dialogue Hate uses is a great example of capturing dialect that is local to time and place.
The dialect portrays the way people actually talked. The story takes original characters and places
them in a typical western situation. Harte uses regionalism through dialect to successfully portray
his characters the way they actually are. I enjoyed reading The Outcasts of Poker Flat, and truly
believe that the use of dialect successfully portrayed the people of the time. According to Edward
O Brien in an essay written in 1923 about the advance of the

Influence Of Cognitive Development On Gender Identity
Abstract
The influence of cognitive development to a modern comprehension of gender identity is
examined. Cognitive theories in the context of human development are assessed and examples are
presented to provide empirical support. These theories surround early gender development with
aspects concentrated specifically during Middle Childhood to illustrate how gender identity is
perceived in children ages 5 11. The process of normal and abnormal gender identity in Middle
Childhood are both examined. The paper concludes with implications for future research.
Introduction to Gender Identity
The phenomenon of gender identity dates back as early as the 1950 s when Psychologists began
examining gender development in children. In 1958, the UCLA Medical Center created the Gender
Identity Research Project to study intersex and its effects on gender development and identity. John
Hopkins Medical School s Gender Identity Clinic was created in 1965 for elaborative gender
research, suggesting that gender identity is relatively fluid up to a certain age and subject to
continuous negotiation (Haraway, 1991). With countless research and studies conducted on this
unique topic in human development, various cognitive theories have emerged to justify the
evolution of gender identity. In order to further examine gender identity, it is critical to distinguish
gender identity from societal terms that do not properly define its true semantic. Gender Identity is

The Three Creation Myths
Question One
The signs of miracles and or Magic discussed in the creation myths
Each of the creation myths reveals some form of supernatural power beyond human understanding.
One common magic that is common is creation from nothing . It is believed that a supreme deity
who existed from the beginning of time solely participated in creation. With the emptiness that
existed, the Supreme Being creates through uttering words or body secretions
(Pinsent, 18). He then organizes the world into the form that it exists presently. It is also a common
belief that the supreme deity has power to give life to human through his breath. As much as he
could engage in physical creation, he also shared the life in them to humans. Certain creatures are

that they get what they need for survival. Good conduct is also emphasized to ensure that peace and
order is maintained. Negritos myth brings out the ideas that creation took place through thoughts or
dreaming. It is believed that a divine couple, Pedn and Manoid existed in the sun that later created
the Earth. First, nature is valued as the source of the universe and all life forms. Relations are valued
as it is the source of human life (Powell, 34).
Question Three

The Sumerian culture portrays the importance of animals as compared to human beings.
This was evident when the gods failed to inform people of the impending floods (Pinsent, 21).

How Music Processes Benefit America s Market
Music has been evolving and developing for thousands of years. Each generation has been
engaging in union with instruments and song to express sorrow, joy, heartbreak, life, death, love
and so on. As music has grown and become more popular, more ways to listen to it have been
introduced. Besides live music, the best way to listen to any artist is through a cassette tape.
Cassette tapes show beneficial purposes in economics in areas such as marketing, entertainment
and the music industry. Cassettes have been benefiting America s market because people have
been buying them for decades. The first cassette tape to ever be produced was in 1962 in
Germany and was later introduced to America in 1966. Reaching its peak in 1990, over
442,000,000 cassettes were sold in the US alone; this even exceeded the amount of records that
were also being sold. When a product is selling at such a high rate, workers are needed to make
the music, put together the tapes or sell them in the stores. Not only was music made on them,
but blank ones were sold as well so buyers could put together their own mix for themselves, a
friend or someone special. Cassettes benefitted the marketplace because millions of US dollars
were made from them and although they are not as popular today, they are still an economic
business from which the US makes money off of.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

usually doesn t have the best quality that society has today, but that makes it even cooler to use.
Overall, cassettes are beneficial towards people today in that they are a reminder of how far music
has come and they are a simple way to enjoy music wherever one

A Formal Testing Strategy Is Crucial For Achieving Success...
A formal testing strategy is crucial for achieving success with mobile app testing. The
information above will definitely guide you in understanding the key focus points of this
strategy, but here s a closer look at the steps you should take. Narrow down the devices the app
will use Mobile devices present the most obvious challenge to mobile testing. There are
countless devices out there consumers could use to access your app and ensuring your app
works on all of them can be difficult. Even though your app might run on a single platform (such
as iOS or Android), the number of devices will still be high for guaranteeing specific device
testing. This is especially the case with Android operating systems. Remember that there are
different versions of an operating system and you should decide which operating system
versions the app is supposed to work on. In order to handle the device challenge, you can
consider using one of the three strategies: Only test using real devices Only test using emulated
devices Using a combination of the above As we ve mentioned before, you want the emphasis to
be on real devices and manual testing. It would be a good idea to focus first on some of the main
devices in your category. For example, find out the most sold and used mobile devices that use
Android, check which operating system version is currently popular and begin testing. For the
devices, which are not as popular, you can use emulated devices as the main testing method.

North Dakota Pipeline Analysis
In North Dakota, oil is a great source of revenue. Since the oil boom, transporting that oil has
been done through pipelines as well as rail cars. Recently, the Dakota Access pipeline has
attracted attention from celebrities and other civilians that are not even residents of the
Dakotas, such as Shailene Woodley, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jane Fonda, and Mark Ruffalo.
Pipelines can be both efficient and dangerous. The efficiency can be read in the ability to
transport the oil to other states, while the danger can be read in the environmental damage of an
oil spill in a river that people depend on for water in the case the Dakota Access pipeline could
damage the Missouri River. No matter all the perks of a pipeline such as Dakota Access, it can be...

Those for the pipeline say that it will help the economy, and that it will be much safer than
transporting crude oil through rail cars. North Dakota oil producers will also get more revenue as

it will not be swell for the environment. The gases that will be released from burning those gases
from cars and other sources will help advance climate change, and is ultimately bad for the
environment. If the United States just went to completely renewable energy, we could slow down

During the conquest of the new world, the idea of varied culture was far from the minds of the

modern readers to better understand the debate of the time: the moral obligations associated with
subjugation and conversion. Two Spanish theologians, BartolomГ© de las Casas and Juan Gines de

He states that the displays of the Spanish to convert through war, and their later exploitation of
cheap labor, under the premise of saving the few innocents in harms way was not enough to call
for war against a peaceful people, many of whom would be lost in the process. De Las Casas
passionate argument utilized the same secular philosopher as Sepulveda. He claimed improper
assumption of barbarianism and natural law. De Las Casas strove to make connections between
the actions of the native peoples and rational logic, though it is interesting to see a secular
argument used to support a religious cause. For example, human sacrifice was utilized to show that
not only were the natives turned towards a higher power, but that they were willing to quite
literally sacrifice the most precious gift , human life, for their deity. Finally, de Las Casas argues
that war is not just due to the fact that until they accept the Catholic faith, their souls are outside of
the papal jurisdiction. Thus, de Las Casas emotional argument towards Sepulveda s points sheds

Bed Bath And Beyond Pest Analysis
Bed Bath and Beyond is struggling in the current market. This PEST analysis is aimed at
determining what the major Political, Economic, Social, and Technological are in current business
environment, and how these factors are affecting the Home Goods Retail industry. The modern
polarized political sphere, especially in the United States, can mean that elections result in a
massive change in policy, especially regulatory reforms on businesses. With an increasingly global
and fluctuating economy, modern businesses need to be aware of everything from regional tax
rates to international tariffs. Social norms are changing rapidly and are different from region to
region, meaning that modern business needs to be aware of the social landscape they are operating
in. Finally, the rate of technological growth is the highest it has been in the history of the Earth. All
of these rapidly changing and nuanced factors need to be studied and well understood in order to
run an efficient and effective modern business. All of these four factors are imperative in
understanding why Bed Bath and Beyond is in its current financial situation.

The Communication Strategies That Involving Actors Adopted...
For this final case application I will be analysing the communication strategies that involving actors
adopted during the 2015 Paris terrorists attacks. The event was one of Europe s most deadly attacks
leaving more than 100 dead and more than 350 injured. Unfortunately however, this was not the
first attackon Paris that same year, in January 2015, terrorists attacked the Charlie Hebdo
magazine headquarters killing twelve people. The November attacks thus, occurred in a city that
was already shaken by terrorists attacks. On the night of November 13th, the attacks occurred in
different points of Paris including the Stade de France (where President Hollande was), the
Bataclan Theatre (where a concert was given) and many streets throughout the city. All of the
attacks occurred in less than an hour and were perpetrated by a terrorist cell who had pledged
allegiance to ISIS. ISIS claimed it had committed these attacks as a response of French military
engagement with the terrorist organisation in Syria. However, the days after the attacks were
carried out are essential in order to take a grasp on understanding the crisis communication. After
the attack President François Hollande gave a ground breaking speech. He created a clear us vs.

Who Is George W. Bush A Good President

Former President George H.W. Bush once said that his son, George W. Bush, faced the greatest

terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93 on September 11, 2001,
known worldwide as 9/11. George W. Bushs responses to the attack included a global War on

The fleshless skeletons that lie are important uses of personification in silhouette. The skeletons
represent the chiefs people who have been killed. Pauline Johnson gives them life when they cry

skeletons cry out but mutely to the chief because he chooses to ignore there cautions. He feels

Do Athletes With Multiple Head Traumas Have Higher...
Do Athletes with Multiple Head Traumas have Higher Incidence of Cognitive Impairment? Heather
M. Strobel University of Central Florida Abstract With the growing concern over head injuries in
professional sports, athletes are now asking questions and expecting answers. Athletes now want to
know what their quality of life will look like after their career as an athlete has come and gone. The
present study evaluates the differences in cognitive impairment between athletes who have a
history of multiple head injuries/traumas and athletes who have not had multiple head injuries
/traumas. The hypothesis states that athletes who have had multiple head injuries/traumas will
show more signs of cognitive impairment when compared to athletes who do not have a history of
multiple head injuries/traumas. A sample of 30 athletes with multiple head injuries/traumas, and 30
athletes without multiple head injuries/traumas were selected. Athletes from both groups were
asked to complete the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status
(RBANS) as a dependent measure of cognitive impairment. The results determined that athletes
with multiple head injuries/traumas scored lower on the RBANS than the athletes without multiple
head injuries/traumas. Keywords: Cognitive impairment, head injuries, head traumas, athletes. Do

Hummingbird Research Paper
The hummingbird is one of the most unique animals on our planet. They are equipped with freaky
flying abilities and fantastically fast traits, all which make them the distinct animals that they are.
How everyday can be a struggle for these nectar consuming flyers just puts me in awe.
Hummingbirds have multiple special characteristics that help them to survive in the wilderness.
Hummingbirds have a heart rate of 1,200 bpm when flying, and take about 250 breaths per minute.
Hummingbirds can beat their wings up to 200 times per second, which, as you may have guessed,
takes up a lot of energy. This helps them to move forwards, backwards, hover, and even move
upside down. Hummingbirds spend most of their days gathering nectar to use as energy. These
frequent flyers are also quite small and light. The smallest hummingbird, the Bee Hummingbird, is
only 5 cm in length while the largest hummingbird, the Giant Hummingbird, is 20 cm in length.
Most hummingbirds weigh less than a nickel. This helps them move around quickly and efficiently,
and also helps them to gather nectar from small flowers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For starters, hummingbirds are surprisingly intelligent for their minuscule size. Hummingbirds
have the largest percentage of brain size to body size of all the species of birds at 4.2%. They
can also remember which flowers they have visited and how long it takes a flower to refill. It
takes hummingbirds lots of energy to fly, and they even use lots of energy while perching. This is
why hummingbirds enter a hibernation like state called torpor which slows down their heart rate
down to 1/15 of what it is normally. Hummingbirds can also see near ultraviolet light, which is
why colors like red stand out so much to

Tyrannicide Is The Killing Of A Tyrant By Usurpation
Tyrannicide is the killing of a tyrant. Usually killed for the common good. The English noun tyrant
derives from Latin tyrannus, meaning illegitimate ruler . The term Tryannicides describes those
who kill tyrants. Tyrants can be classified in two categories usurpation and oppression. A tyrant by
usurpation is when a tyranttries to take down a higher ruler. In other words, a tyrant by usurpation
is a traitor. These types of tyrants may be put straight to death by legitimate authority. If a usurper
already established his rule and is living peacefully with his reigns, until a certain period, the
legitimate ruler can expel him by force. The ruler can kill him for his offence. However under
different circumstances, if the legitimate ruler

U.S. Diplomatic Mission Attacks in Benghazi and the Aftermath
On the day of the 11th anniversary of the September 11th, 2001 attacks on the World Trade
Center, another attack unfolded this time, on foreign soil, but still very much hitting close to
home. Four U.S. citizens the U.S. ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens; a Foreign Service
information management officer, and two other U.S. personnel died when members of the radical
Islamist group called Ansar al Sharia, one of many extremist Salafi groups, clashed with security
forces in Benghazi after protesting near the U.S. consulate. It has been debated what has provoked
this violence, but it was initially believed that it was due to an online film considered offensive to
Islam. Earlier on in the day, in Cairo, there were protests being executed in... Show more content on

consulate were linked. According to demonstrators participating in the protests and ousting of the
militias, Libyans have had enough of extremists a year after ousting long time dictator Muammar
Gaddafi, especially after the recent attacks. On the other side, those who are pro Ansar al Sharia
protested in support of the extremist group, justifying the killing of the Americans with the offense
the U.S. had committed against Islam with the release of the now notorious film. After protests
calmed and subsided (at least in the media), on the other side of the Atlantic ocean, many
criticized President Obama of his handling of the attacks in Benghazi. Many on the conservative
right accused him of being an apologist for Islamic terrorism and the killing of the four Americans.
This became a hot topic in the presidential debates in October, when presidential candidate Mitt
romney accused Obama of having gone on an apology tour, where President Obama apologized to
other nations for American behavior, particularly in the case of the anti Islamic film. He referenced
a statement released by the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, which stated that it condemned efforts to hurt
the religious feelings of Muslims, and that they firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the
universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others. Romney affirmed, as well as
other Conservatives, that the current

certain applications. This system utilizes in a room that lack of air conditioning system such as in
room. The system is designed that is supposed to monitor the temperature inside a room. The
automatic system required to control the temperature within the room is measured by using a
temperature sensor. When the current temperature is below the lower limit of the desired if it is in
the first upper limit 26В°c to 30В°c, the room is cooled using a fan. When the current temperature
is within the desired range, no control action is needed. The current temperature of the room must
be continuously displayed on the LCD. 1.2 motivation Seeing latest trends and speed of
progression the Arduino field is making, we are inclined to take a project related to room

Understanding Schizophrenia and Psychosis
Schizophrenia and Psychotherapy Schizophrenia is a psychiatric disorder differentiated by
degeneration of thought processes and of emotional reaction. It is characterized by auditory
hallucinations, delusions, or disorganized speech and thought process along with considerable
social or occupational dysfunction. Onset of symptoms is usually during early adulthood.
Diagnosis is based on DSM IV criteria for diagnosis of Schizophrenia (PubMed, 2010). It mainly
affects the cognition but behavior and emotion can also be involved. Schizophrenics can have
certain coexisting conditions such as major depression and anxiety disorders. These cognitive,
emotional and behavioral problems can lead to secondary problems like unemployment, academic
difficulties and social issues. Schizophrenics have higher tendency to suicide than general
population which makes their life expectancy 15 years less than the general population. The
average life expectancy of people with the disorder is 12 to 15 years less than those without, the
result of increased physical health problems and a higher suicide rate (about 5%). Following are the
classification of Schizophrenia according to DSM IV Manual Paranoid type: delusions,
hallucinations without affecting the thought behavior, and cognition. (DSM code 295.3/ICD code
F20.0) Disorganized type: Though disorder and flat affect (DSM code 295.1/ICD code F20.1)
Catatonic type: Agitated, purposeless movements, occasional immobility, catatonic stupor

22 Short Rimfire Cartridge
The .22 caliber small diameter projectile was one of the first small diameter projectiles
introduced and has been developed and adapted for over a century becoming the most popular
small bore caliber in history. While most shooters automatically jump to .22 LR when they hear
.22 caliber, however there are hundreds of variations of the .22 caliber loadings and cartridges.
The .22 Short rimfire cartridge is one of the longest running .22 caliber cartridges still in
production, it was introduced in 1857 for use in a Smith Wesson revolver1. This development
went on to lead to the .22 long, .22 extra long and a whole lineage of .22 caliber rimfire
cartridges all the way to the .22 WMR in 1959, another very popular .22 rimfire design that has
recently been giving the .22LR a run for its money. The .22 caliber bullet continued on to be

The powder charge and pressure are however different due to small differences in the casing

the M16 rifle. Its military adoption led to its surge in popularity, though its reception was a hard
one due to misconceptions about it ability to kill. The .22 is still being used and developed to
this day. From new innovations like the 5.7x28mm or the .22 TCM the .22 diameter bullet is
being used in more platforms and being adapted all the time. The most popular selling rifle in
my store is obviously the AR 15 chambered in .223/5.56, and oddly enough one of my most
sought after guns is also a .22 caliber the FNH FiveSeven Pistol. Personally I have been interested
in squiring the .22 TCM conversion slides for Glocks and selling them paired with assembled
Glock frames. To this day .22 has maintained popularity in the united statesfrom rimfire to
centerfire and the popularity may wane but for the most part always

The Delphi Technique is based on the Hegelian Principle of achieving Oneness of Mind through a
three step process of thesis, antithesis, and synthesis. In thesis and antithesis, all present their
opinion or views on a given subject, establishing views and opposing views. In synthesis, opposites
are brought together to form the new thesis. All participants are then to accept ownership of the
new thesis and support it, changing their own views to align with the new thesis. Through a
continual process of evolution, Oneness of Mind will supposedly occur.
The theory of the Delphi and the reality of the Delphi are, obviously, quite different the reality
being that Oneness of Mind does not occur but only the illusion of Oneness of Mind with those
who refuse to be Delphi d being alienated from participating in the process.
While proponents of education reform feel they are quite justified in this, the effect of this
unethical manipulation of people is to create polarized camps. In an effort to maintain the process,
advocates have marketed a plethora of publications (such as What s Left After the Right, No Right
Turn and If You Don t, They Will) intended to label, castigate, and alienate anyone who does not go
along with them. As a result, parents come to understand that their role in education reform is
merely perfunctory; that the outcome is preset, that they are not but the rah rah team so when
opposition does arise,

Humanity In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
The Human Choice What does it mean to be human? Is it enough to have a beating heart, a
functional brain, and the body of a human? In Mary Shelley s novel Frankenstein, the idea of
humanity is explored through Frankenstein and his monster. The monster, animated through
Frankenstein s experiments, proves that humanity is chosen rather than inherent by the monster
originally choosing and then rejecting humanity. The Frankensteinmonster gains and exhibits
humanity from his birth to his abandonment by the DeLacey family. As the monster evolves
through primal urges, he seems to learn quickly, immediately recognizing the need for clothing and
warmth, as well as identifying the type of material necessary to continue the fire (Shelley 72 74). He

The monster continued to develop his human characteristics. During this internal voyage of
discovery, the monster came across the emblem of Satan in Paradise Lost. The book elicited strong
emotions from the monster, and as the monster identified with Satan, the readings drove the
monster further from his human nature. While reading this book, the monster also comes across
Frankenstein s journal. In this journal, Frankenstein had meticulously described the process of the
creation of the monster and Frankenstein s disgust with the monster. The monster likened his own
predicament to Satan s. Yet the monster felt that while Satan had fellow fallen compatriots, the
monster had no one, not even the support of his own creator. The monster saw himself as solitary
and abhorred (Shelley 94). When the monster revealed himself to the old DeLacey, the monster felt
hope that he might be accepted for who he was. When the DeLaceys returned home, their replies to
the monster s appearance revealed their horror and inability to see past the surface features of the
monster. Thus, the monster chooses to reject all commonalities with his human family and elects to
burn the ties to this family as he scorches their vacated home. The monster further demonstrates the
loss of his humanity and the expansion of his animalistic urges by reveling in the murder of
Frankenstein s family member. The monster loses his remnants of his humanity after his
abandonment by Frankenstein, his creator, and the DeLaceys, his human

Different Types of Communication Devices
Devices
Router
A router is a network device that routes packets to networks other than its own. Routers are almost
like a bridge between networks. Most home use routers to connect their local network (their LAN)
to the Internet (which is a wide area network) with all in one devices with routers, modems and
wireless access points built in.
Routers decide where the best route to a destination is using a file called the routing table , which
has a list of different ways to get to one direction, quantified by the metric, which determines the
distance of the path to travel so the router can efficiently pick the best path to use.

Expenses / Cost
The set up of a wireless network will generally rely on the cost of wireless routers, wireless network
adapters for every device, wireless access points (WAP) spread across the locations and installation
fees. This works out to be more expensive than a wired network.
Relatively cheaper but can be costly depending on the type of wired connections used and
installation fees. However, Ethernet, copper cables and switches are less expensive as opposed to
the features required for a wireless network. Fibre optic cables can be a lot more expensive, but
the price of installation and cable vary based on needs, area of installation and metre coverage.
Installation
Installation of wireless networks are relatively easy they often simply involve playing a wireless
access point in a place where the signal reaches the most areas. In more advanced installations, it
is common to use a radio mapper to determine where the signal does and does not reach, for
practicality and security reasons. The power of the router is important to consider and often can be
adjusted on the software side to suit the

Poor Decision Making In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Didn t Elvis say it best when ever he said, Wise men say only fools rush into love . This idea is
expressed throughout the world because so many mistakes are made whenever people rush into
love. It seems as though love has a powerful hold on people and they just can t help what they do
once they are in love. It is as if they are almost blind to everything else around them, and also
blind to the consequences that might come from their choices that they make. Teenagers seem to
be more at risk for such frivolous love due to the fact they have lived such ephemeral lives. Since
teen brains are not fully developed it can lead to fickle or poor decision making, and sometimes
leads to making choices that result in teen pregnancy. Poor decision... Show more content on

Basic Parameters That Affect The Performance
7.Basic Parameters That Affect The Performance in RTOS
7.1Multi tasking and preemptable:
In RTOS the system have to be multitasking and preemptable because those two features make the
RTOS Scheduler end any lower priority task to execute the higher ones or to release some
resources for other tasks that urgently need those resources. Also the system have to handle
different level of priorities of interrupts.(Yerraballi,R. 2000)
7.2Dynamic deadline identification:
In some scheduling algorithms such as (EDF)the deadline is converted to priority levels. Then we
can control priorities by controlling the deadlines. Although such an approach is error prone,
nonetheless it is employed for lack of a better solution (Buttazzo, 2005).
7.3Predictable synchronization:
The threads of the system need to communication and to be synchronized in a timely efficient and
predictable way.
7.4Sufficient Priority Levels:
In the scheduling algorithms based on priorities. There must be enough levels of priorities. Priority
inversion occur when a low level priority hold the resource that the the high level priority is
waiting for or blocked due to this resource, and the lower priority is delayed because low priority
task. Two workarounds in dealing with priority inversion, namely priority inheritance and priority
ceiling protocols (PCP), need sufficient priority levels.
7.5Predefined latencies:
The timing of the systems must be predictable and this is done by defining task switching

  • 2. Impact Of Innovation On Public Sector Bason,C (2010) uses the term public sector innovation to refer to the process of creating new ideas and turning them into value for society .(Bason,2010) then goes on to discuss about the value public sector innovation holds and asserts that the public sector has four major components: productive, service experience, results and democracy. (Bason, 2010, p.34) There is evidence that innovation plays a crucial role in regulating in the public sector. Recent developments in public sector organisations have heightened the need for innovation, so this essay seeks to examine the use of innovation in key public sector institutions, e.g. healthcare and will also identify the challenges and advantages of co production/personalisation and innovation in the public sector. Public sector innovation has less connotations with new product development and is more greatly linked to enhancing efficiency and quality of outcome. It consists of internal organisational procedures and structures leading, for instance to innovative ways to customer services which is commonly labelled as client service innovation or examples such as new methods to attain clients which is also described as marketing innovation . (Chryssou, 2014) Pivotal examples of innovation include, new technological use, the desire towards public centric procedures with the outlook to provide uncomplicated services and more suitability. • 4. Jacques-Louis David s Influence On The Enlightenment In 19th century France, the Neoclassical art style arose, influenced by the classical artistic style of Greco Roman society. Around this time, France encountered many political, social and economic changes brought up mostly by the lower class French citizens. Jacques Louis David was a highly influential Neoclassical artist during this time. Commissioned by both Nobles and lower class citizens of France, he created artworks such as the Oath of the Horatii (image 1), the Death of Marat (image 2), and Napoleon Crossing the Alps (image 3). David s art represented the ideas of thinkers of that time rather than just the ideals of that time. The purpose of David s art was to gain the support of French citizens through artistic propaganda in order... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to the time period in which David created art, some ideals of the enlightenment may have been depicted, this, however, wasn t the main motive of David s art. The enlightenment was a radically new synthesis of ideas about humanity, reason, nature, and God that had arisen during classical Greek and Roman times and during the Renaissance (Stokstad 898). In Napoleon Crossing the Alps, the central figure of the painting is Napoleon. He was a war general who gained popularity through conquest before making himself emperor in 1804. In the painting, he is the largest and clearest figure depicted. This painting goes against the ideas of the enlightenment such as separation of powers, where power is split across three branches equally so that no one person would hold too much power, which was a widely held ideal during the time (Spielvogel 28). This painting does, however, serve as propaganda to depict Napoleon as a strong leader because he is appearing to stay still and calm on a moving horse in order to show that even through chaos he will remain a good leader for his people. Napoleon Crossing the Alps conveys that the purpose of David s art wasn t to depict the ideals of the enlightenment, but to influence the audience and to be used as ... • 6. Determination Of Copper Sulphate Using Colorimetry Lab Report Finding the concentration of an unknown sample of copper sulphate using colorimetry. In this task the concentration of an unknown sample of copper sulphate using colorimetry was used to find the concentration. In this investigation copper sulphate was used which is CuSO4.5H20 as a formula. To make a standard solution which was 1M, the same clean equipment was used to make up the standard solution as used to make sodium carbonate. However there was one difference and that was that the hot distilled water was used to dissolve the copper sulphate crystals. There had to be enough hot water in order to dissolve the crystals into the beaker and then add cold distilled water to cool the solution. After this, the solution was poured into a volumetric flask just about to the 1dm3 line and then it was left there to cool to the same temperature as the room before filling precisely to the 1dm3 line with distilled water. The molar mass of CuSO4.5H20 was 249.5 so that means 249.5g of copper sulphate was needed to dissolve, in order to make a standard solution, into 1dm3of distilled water. Following this, a linear dilution of the CuSO4.5H2O was made in order to be used to make a calibration curve after using the colorimeter to write down the absorbance of each sample. A linear dilution is diluted with distilled water in order for it to make the concentration weaker and weaker. For this investigation, the dilutions made ranged from 0.01 to 0.1 M/l . • 8. Composition As A Write Of Passage By Nathalie Singh-Corcoran Relatability vs. Evidence Composition 1, also known as English 101 or FYC (First Year Composition) is an entry level course taken by a majority of college students to introduce them to college level reading and writing. FYC is a prerequisite course at many colleges and universities and therefore must be taken before students can enter into courses specific to their major. Though FYC serves as a bridge to college level reading and writing many students and even some compositionists (those who teach writing in a college or university) do not see the relevancy of the course and instead view FYC as a course with very little applicability within the majors and future careers of college students. Others, including Nathalie Singh Corcoran, believe FYC is a crucial prerequisite course that does teach skills crucial to the futures and lives of college students. In her essay, Composition as a Write of Passage, Nathalie Singh Corcoran first, speaks to the purpose and overall goals of an FYC course before explaining how the skills learned in FYC can actually be applied to the majors and future careers of college students. From the very beginning of her article, Singh Corcoran establishes a strong foundation from which she can reach her main audience, but, she fails to support her main points in the best possible way by a very sparse use of non anecdotal or personal experience based evidence. Above all, Singh Corcoran is highly successful in reaching her main audience, college ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The definition of compassion in the oxford dictionary is sympathetic pity and concern for the suffering or misfortunes of others . The nursing and midwifery council have already started on some the imperative changes to be made that the Francis report issued. The chief executive of the nursing and midwifery council has said in her executive statement regarding the Francis report that they are to re examine the current teaching that nurses receive and the professional standards. Smith, J. (Nursing and Midwifery Council) all of these failings are all relate d to compassionate care. The people who died in these hospitals were clearly not heard when they complained of feeling unwell and did not receive compassionate care so why was this? Next to be discussed is compassion fatigue and how this may reflect onto nursing practice in providing sufficient compassion. Compassion fatigue is widely known in the health care profession. Nurses working overtime and long working days to provide care for the patient and the patient s families are a continuous stress on a nurse s emotional and physical well being especially if the nurse is providing the patient with end of life care as this contributes to both physical and mental work. • 11. The Importance Of Work Place Culture And How It Has A... People will typically be more enthusiastic where they feel a sense of belonging and see themselves as member of a community, in comparison to a workplace in which each person is left to their own devices Kohn (1999 pg. 188). This outlines that when people have a sense of belonging they will thrive, and demonstrates the importance of work place culture and how it has a large influence on if a business is successful, in the same way that Cameron and Quinn explained (2011) that some of today s successful firms have developed a distinctive culture that is identifiable by its employees, for example Disney. Another major factor is how the individuals will play a role in how the communication is received, for example their role within the setting. This is supported by Tylor and Van Every (2000) when they stress that with clear and concise communication between employees an organisation can emerge and grow. Schins (1985) explained in his model that there are three basic levels of elements for culture , described as layers. One of these is artefacts which are the visible elements like uniform worn by staff and children which shows a group presence and aides belonging, providing a sense of family, furthermore there is organisational structure, the manager leading the setting with their values which are fed down through the deputy to the early years practitioners, through strategies and goals set by the manager, and any policies and procedures the setting follows. One of these is what the setting stands for which is for all children to be happy and to achieve, another one is where the setting aims to be in the future. Which in the case of early years is striving to achieve the highest grade with OFSTED, if staff feel valued and confident in their work this will influence a more positive attitude in their behaviour and feelings, and will want to achieve more as a whole. Lauren and her mom were already awake, showered and ready to go. Luckily we got a hoteldirectly across from the airport, so it didn t end up being such a long car ride. After the short drive to our terminal, we wait for my other classmates to arrive. So I thought to write about why meditation is important in this article. Where from Meditation came into my picture? So it s better to be practical in your facts. This is the most common question asked by the people; Do meditation has any roots with religion, the answer is N0. It doesn t. • 15. Descriptive Essay About Santa Inez Mountains Most everyone who has toured coastal California is familiar with the Santa Inez Mountains that form the striking backdrop for the city of Santa Barbara. But not everyone has been in (or on) those mountains, and that s where the true magnificence lies. Have you? One such journey begins on Gibraltar Road near the upper edge of the city, just above the Santa BarbaraMission. The trip is breathtaking as it winds its way through several different climate and flora zones on its way to La Cumbre Peak, a pine shrouded crest 4000 feet above the palm laced ocean. I leave my car at the 700 foot level, and begin the slow, lung expanding crank to the peak. Soon my breathing becomes rhythmical as I establish a pattern and begin to gain elevation. I hadn t been on this road for several years, and in the interim, it has been freshly paved which makes for nice cycling. Along this initial stretch, there s a new home every half mile or so, each one expansive, elegantly landscaped, and blended into the landscape to minimize its obtrusiveness. After a mile or so the road snaked to the east, as it continued it s serpentine track around the edge of appropriately named Rattlesnake Canyon. At the 1700 foot level I made a major switchback to the west past a host of No Shooting signs. Although I could see no reason for the warnings, at any point on the road a shooter could have his way with a road sign, tree limb, or some living thing, nonetheless the authorities found it worthy of ... In Toni Morrison s Recitatif she brings up racism and the societal normal. She never reveals the race of either of the girls in this story. Never knowing the race of the girls other than they are two different races shows how one race never knows that the other is thinking about or where they are coming from. In this story, two girls meet from very different back grounds and different races and become friends, then go separate directions. They continue to meet throughout their lives and try to rekindle the childhood friendship as adults. This shows how children do not know the differences or the color lines that society has put into place. As children, gender, race, and religion is never an issue. Racism is something that society has created. Society has made racism one of the main barriers throughout the world. In the story, the two girls are friends and live in a group home. The girls are witnesses to some bad things carried out by the older girls in the home. They end up separating and going different ways in life. When they meet up later, while rekindling their relationship they begin to reminisce about their childhood. They come to find out that their perception and memories do not exactly match up. • 17. Nursing Sensitive Indicators Are Defined By The American... Nursing sensitive indicators are defined by the American Nursing Association (ANA) as indicators that reflect the structure, process and outcomes of nursing care (ANA, 2014). These indicators help define how nursing care is given by measuring the amount of nursing staff, skill level of the nursing staff, and the education level of nursing staff. These indicators depict the quality of care provided to patients and the outcomes of the care provided. Careful tracking of these indicators provides evidence for keeping current practices or for implementing new policy and procedures. A formal set of indicators measuring the impact nursing interventions have on patient care was not implemented until 1998 (Montalvo, I. (2007). With the establishment of the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI), hospitals and other care settings are able to assess how nursing interventions impact patient outcomes, quality of care, and the overall work environment in health care facilities. Nursing sensitive indicators are a quality improvement measure used to determine how the quality of nursing care is evaluated in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Nurse sensitive indicators allow healthcare facilities to evaluate how the care they are providing is following evidence based practices and how they can improve their practices to achieve better patient outcomes. The American Nurses Association is promoting these indicators as the definitive standards for patient care ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The first is the reason for dieting, woman tend to diet because they feel fat whereas men start to diet because they had previously been overweight. The second difference is that more often than women, men diet to maintain certain goals in relation to an athletic activity, for example to avoid injury rather than to loose weight. For this final case application I will be analysing the communication strategies that involving actors adopted during the 2015 Paris terrorists attacks. The event was one of Europe s most deadly attacks leaving more than 100 dead and more than 350 injured. Unfortunately however, this was not the first attackon Paris that same year, in January 2015, terrorists attacked the Charlie Hebdo magazine headquarters killing twelve people. On the night of November 13th, the attacks occurred in different points of Paris including the Stade de France (where President Hollande was), the Bataclan Theatre (where a concert was given) and many streets throughout the city. All of the attacks occurred in less than an hour and were perpetrated by a terrorist cell who had pledged allegiance to ISIS. ISIS claimed it had committed these attacks as a response of French military engagement with the terrorist organisation in Syria. However, the days after the attacks were carried out are essential in order to take a grasp on understanding the crisis communication. After the attack President François Hollande gave a ground breaking speech. Strobel University of Central Florida Abstract With the growing concern over head injuries in professional sports, athletes are now asking questions and expecting answers. Athletes now want to know what their quality of life will look like after their career as an athlete has come and gone. The present study evaluates the differences in cognitive impairment between athletes who have a history of multiple head injuries/traumas and athletes who have not had multiple head injuries /traumas. The hypothesis states that athletes who have had multiple head injuries/traumas will show more signs of cognitive impairment when compared to athletes who do not have a history of multiple head injuries/traumas. A sample of 30 athletes with multiple head injuries/traumas, and 30 athletes without multiple head injuries/traumas were selected. Athletes from both groups were asked to complete the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS) as a dependent measure of cognitive impairment. The results determined that athletes with multiple head injuries/traumas scored lower on the RBANS than the athletes without multiple head injuries/traumas. They are equipped with freaky flying abilities and fantastically fast traits, all which make them the distinct animals that they are. How everyday can be a struggle for these nectar consuming flyers just puts me in awe. Hummingbirds have multiple special characteristics that help them to survive in the wilderness. Hummingbirds have a heart rate of 1,200 bpm when flying, and take about 250 breaths per minute. Hummingbirds can beat their wings up to 200 times per second, which, as you may have guessed, takes up a lot of energy. This helps them to move forwards, backwards, hover, and even move upside down. Hummingbirds spend most of their days gathering nectar to use as energy. These frequent flyers are also quite small and light. The smallest hummingbird, the Bee Hummingbird, is only 5 cm in length while the largest hummingbird, the Giant Hummingbird, is 20 cm in length. Most hummingbirds weigh less than a nickel. This helps them move around quickly and efficiently, and also helps them to gather nectar from small flowers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
