Welcome to the Realm of Love
Welcome to the realm of love
You dream of an unfamiliar hand being placed on your elbow. It is tender and adoring, but at the
same moment it has a gargantuan power that easily lifts you awake. You are suspended over a
countryside at dawn. You gaze downward and you realize that this cosmic expanse extending out to
the horizon and distant beyond it is all your property. The existence you have endured and have yet
to live stretches out beneath you. It s surprisingly gigantic, a complete continent sheltered with a
subtle cobalt vapor. You can scarcely familiarize yourself, but you worship this territory from deep
within your spirit. You marvel at that, but just for a short minute, because it then occurs to you
what this immeasurable immense and magnificent ground beneath you is: it s called love.
As you slowly drift downwards, you are still gazing, lost in thought, at the landscape before your
eyes. You touch down gently, grateful to feel the earth below your feet. A delicate fog surrounds
you. You see a lightin front of and up above you. A mighty tower looms before you. Completely
solitary, it rises from the landscape like a pillar. It is beautiful and strangely familiar, as if you had
been there many times before.
Light comes from a small window set high in the facade. Something wonderful is shining there,
gentle and friendly. As you walk around the tower, you see an open door. You go inside, where a
broad, winding staircase greets you. Each step, each stone is familiar.

The Royal Theatre And Its Consortium
Executive Summary The following highlights the main issues affecting the Royal Theatre and its
consortium: since the issues is in regard to a claim exists on the basis of fraudulent
misrepresentation against the surrounding theatres and the Royal Theatre, a statistical analysis was
required to collect data from movie goers to lead to an ethical conclusion. The analysis performed
includes inquiries in regard to the legality of Tommy s claim and whether it is justifiable under the
rule of misrepresentation; both fraud and innocent misrepresentation have been considered. In
addition, surveys were collected from groups of movie goers, and the analysis concludes the

Tommy indicates that the duration of time in which commercials were playing was 20 minutes.
Tommy was unaware that the theater would be showing commercials. Although he was unhappy
with the commercials, he stayed until he was discontent with the movie that he had paid for.
Ultimately, Tommy was denied a refund, as it is a policy of the Royal theatre; therefore, Tommy
has expressed his intent to initiate a class action lawsuit believing that his rights were violated.
Analysis Liability for Fraud: What Tommy Must Prove to Win Assuming that a contract existed at
the time of the event, between Tommy and the Theater, Tommy may use the following argument
to prove his fraudulent claim. Tommy may argue that (1) a representation was made and that was
that one of the terms of the contract provides that the movie will begin at 1 PM. Thus, he was
induced by a fraudulent claim because the movie started 20 minutes after commercials ended.
Tommy may also suggest (2) the representation was known to be false because the ticket stub
indicated the movie would start at 1 p.m. Therefore, (2) the plaintiff was expected to rely on the
fact that the movie was starting at 1 p.m.; moreover, (3) it was known to be false because the
newspaper ad stated the time, (4) and it was made with the intention that the plaintiff rely on it
because the cashier at the ticket stub affirmed it, (5) the

Summary Of Thomas F Drayton s Response To The Civil War
During the 19th century, slavery expanded geographically and demographically in the South and
Southwest of America, generating a wave of abolitionist movements. These events provoked a
different response in the country s society, since not everyone shared the same definition of slavery
and freedom. These concepts started to get involved in almost every part of American sociopolitical
life, creating differing points of view that would later conform the two sides in the Civil War of
America: The Union in the north, and Confederacy in the south. Each side had its own arguments
for supporting their cause, and we get an idea of them in the text Letter of Thomas F. Drayton
(1861). This letter is part of the constant communication through correspondence

Matilda The Musical Analysis
Family friendly, heart tugging, hilarious, energy filled, Matilda the Musical does it all in this
unbelievable performance and is a must see for everyone. The humor is perfect for all ages and
will have everyone laughing, but at the same time still has little remarks that go over the kid s
head. Matilda the Musical is currently playing in the beautiful Cambridge Theatre in London s
West End and the set and special of effects of the Matilda are a little unnecessary at times, but still
impressive nonetheless. This show will have you laughing and talking about the performance for
days to come!
Based on Roald Dahl s novel, Matilda is the story of an unwanted girl born to abusive parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood, that want nothing to do with her. The incredible conniving Mr.
Wormwood, played by David Birch, is a used car salesman who will sell a lemon to anyone to
make some quick cash. Mrs. Wormwood, played by Marianne Benedict, is so caught up in her
ballroom dancing championships that she totally neglects the fact that she is so visibly pregnant.
However, the child she gives birth to is Matilda Wormwoodand she is an exceptional little girl with
mind powers and an innate ability to read and tell stories. Later on Matilda is sent to a dreadful
school under the leadership of the callous headmaster, Miss Trunchbull. Miss Trunchbull, played
by David Shannon, is tyrannical and merciless in her approach to dealing with children and even
goes as far to say the phrase Children are

Club Drugs and Teens Essay
Introduction
In today s society, teens are a common target of anti drug campaigns and government
advertisements. The goal of these campaigns is to make teens and young adults aware of the
dangers associated with drug use. While these campaigns are generally effective, teens are still
greatly tempted by the dangerous, exciting, and fast paced world of club drugs. Despite the
information they are constantly receiving from their teachers, parents, and government media,
some teenagers will still adamantly pursue drugs in hopes of finding a good time.
Some of the club drugs that teens are likely to try are extremely dangerous and can ruin a person s
mental or physical health with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is used as a dissociative drug, one that can cause near death or out of body experiences in users.
This was first realized when medical patients who were under the influence of Ketamine reported
experiences in which they floated around the room they were in, watching their own body being
operated on by doctors. While this was startling, Ketamine was still seen as a very useful anesthetic
in the medical world, and continued to be used by doctors.
In today s club and rave scene, especially in Europe, buying and using Ketamine from non
pharmaceutical sources can be extremely risky, due to mislabeling, inaccurately noted or
inconsistent potency, and a common practice of mixing Ketamine with other, more powerful drugs
before sales. When a user buys Ketamine from a drug dealer, it is quite possible that he or she is
also getting cocaine, heroin, or ecstasy mixed with their purchase.
Because teenagers can be uncaring about their own safety, some simply see Ketamine as a safe,
harmless drug. However, the drug they buy can be something much stronger and much more
dangerous than pure medical Ketamine. While it s use has declined since it s outlawing in 1999,
Ketamine is still sold on the streets and used by teens. It is legal in many other countries, and fears
of increased use are arising.

Implementing Generic And Generic Drugs
INTRODUCTION
Over the last few years, the United States Supreme Court has struggled to determine when a
manufacturer is liable, and should be held accountable, for violating the duty to warn consumers
about the dangers associated with brand and generic drugs through their labeling. Further, the Court
has grappled with determining which channels are available to consumers when a drug
manufacturer breaches their duty. With the swarm of inconsistencies set forth by the Court in each
newly decided case, and a proposed rule regarding generic changes being effected preparing to take
effect Fall 2015, it is difficult to determine if the necessary guidance for drug manufacturers and
consumers has been provided.

Second, laws such as the learned intermediary doctrine state, and courts have widely held, that a
prescription drug manufacturer s duty to warn runs to the physician, the learned intermediary , not
directly to the patient. Only one state, New Mexico, has rejected the doctrine calling it outdated
due to the recent increase in direct to consumer marketing. The Court has struggled to define the
distinction, if any, between generic and branded drugs in terms of state tort liability and failure to
warn claims. In Wyeth v. Levine, the Court decided that the FDA s drug labeling requirements for
brand drugs do not preempt state tort claims related to the dissemination of safety information. In
essence, brand name manufacturers will be held liable for failure to update their warning labels in
an effective and efficient manner. Just two short years later, the Court contradicts its decision in
Wyeth, and defines a distinction for generic drug products, which applies federal preemption
principles in Pliva v. Mensing. Finally, in Mutual Pharamceutical v. Bartlett, the Court effectively
barred generic failure to warn, and defective design claims in state courts. Currently, under state law,

Unknown Organic Compounds Lab Report
Identification of Unknown Organic Compounds by Melting Point, Boiling Point, Infrared and
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Background and Method In the previous labs we were
experimenting with different methods so that we can find different physical properties of the
known compound. However, this lab report is a little different as it gives us two unknown
compounds where we have to use the prior knowledge we have gotten in the other labs to ensure
that we know exactly how to ultimately find the correct molecular structure of the unknown
compounds. Therefore in this lab, we had to perform elemental analysis, boiling point, infrared
(IR), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopies (NMR) and melting point. Thus, the main
objective of this lab was to ensure that the students knew how apply the techniques from the
previous labs and interpret the spectroscopy data to formulate the correct structure of the
compound. We were assigned G and H. G was the solid and H was the liquid unknown compound.
That being said the first step was the elemental analysis. Thus, the very first step was the

The theory for the melting point is that it helps with the indication of how pure a substance is,
also it helps in figuring out the melting point of the purer substances, sharper melting points
belong to more pure substances (Online Labs). Also melting points can be affected by the size of
the molecule and intermolecular forces (Online Labs). Melting point was measured using the
melting point apparatus. That being said it is very important to ensure that there is minimal
impurities or the apparatus is not overly heated, this will lead to inaccurate data as it will give the
wrong readings (Landrie, 193). The best way to ensure that the most accurate measurement is
gotten to cool the apparatus to 10 15 degree Celsius then taking the measured when it is heated to 1

Traffic Court Observation Paper
I decided to attend a night traffic court session at the Ventura Courthouse. The cases ranged from
seat belt violations to reckless driving. Most of the defendants appeared before the court to
request more time to pay the fines associated with the tickets. I was surprised to see that very
few of the people in the courthouse were pleading not guilty. Only one person showed up to
defend a case with legal help from an attorney of some sort. The first person to claim not guilty
was charged with speeding. I tried to get as many of the details of the case as possible. The facts of
the case were as follows: While driving on Bogus Avenue, the defendant was stopped by an Officer

I was unaware that the law does not require drivers to stop for a predetermined length of time. The
defendant pleaded Not Guilty to the charge of violating CVC 22450(a). The facts of the case
were as follows: While exiting the 5 freeway, the defendant claims to have made a brief stop at a
stop sign at the intersection at the end of the off ramp. After the stop, she proceeded to turn right
through the intersection. Shortly thereafter, she was stopped by a officer and was charged with
violating CVC 22450(a) Failure to stop for stop sign. The defendant stated that she told the
officer that she had stopped at the limit line as required. The officer agreed and said: You
stopped, but you didn t stop long enough. The defendant stated that the officer seemed to indicate
in this statement that he wanted her to stop for a longer period of time than she actually had. The
defendant read from the California Vehicle Code, the required length of time for a stop is defined
in CVC 587 as Stop or stopping... shall mean any cessation of movement of a vehicle. The
defendant then stated that she believed that any cessation of movement would include the stop she
made. She then stressed that the officer, by his statements, seemed to believe that a set time period
for a stop is required though no such set time length is actually provided for in the law. The
defendant also offered that since many drivers do not stop at all at an uncontested stop, the officer

Through The Misty Panes And Thick Green Sea By Wilfred Owen
Owen continues writing, Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light, / As under a
green sea, I saw him drowning. / In all my dreams, before my helpless sight, / He plunges at me,
guttering, choking, drowning (13 16). These lines from Owen s poem emphasized the dreadful
atrocity of WWI: Chemical Warfare. The word pane means A framed sheet of glass in a window or
door. Owen used the word pane to describe the two clear glass lenses of the gas mask. The
description by Owen of green colored gas figuratively provides the reader an illusion of being
underwater; however, chlorinegas floating in the air is literally green in color (CDC). Chlorine gas
kills its victims by reacting with water in the lungs to form hydrochloric acid. This strong acid
deteriorates the lining of the lungs and causes its victims to drown while standing on dry land
(Fitzgerald 613). Owen knew this particular soldier was doomed because of the lethality of inhaling
poisonous chlorine gas. Nonetheless, government propagandists refused to reveal the horrifying
reality of inhumane deaths caused by chemical warfare. If this truth were disclosed, people would
realize that soldiers were expendable objects with no guarantees of a dignified death.
Owen states, If in some smothering dreams you too could pace / Behind the wagon that we flung
him in, /... (17 18). These lines described the carnage after a chemical attack. Even though the
soldier was dead and lying in a burial wagon, Owen

The Handmaid s Tale By Voltaire
The titular character of this book struggles with life. Pretty much everyone he knows at some
point dies a horrible death and everyone who he thinks died turns out to still be alive somehow.
He goes through what some would describe as hell to be with the one he loves and in the end it
doesn t even matter. Throughout his stressful life he has his trusty companion Pangloss telling him
that all is for the best in this best of all possible worlds. During the book he has many adventures

characters of this book learn that philosophizing and arguing about if life is good or our purpose is

Macbeth Vs Lady Macbeth
Lady Macbeth is filled evil schemes, and knows how to achieve her goal of getting her husband
into the kingly position. Lady Macbeth is very convincing in her ideas, and does not leave a lot
of space to think otherwise. Macbeth is not left much choice but to conform himself to his wife
s mischievous strategy to get him to become king. He is very loyal, and wants to remain so to
his king even knowing he would become king if Duncan, the present king, were to die. Lady
Macbeth, however, has other plans for Macbeth, and she soon has him convinced to commit an
act which will change their lives forever. Macbeth and his wife are truly opposite people, as
Macbeth is laid back and easy going, while Lady Macbeth wants everything planned out and will
go onward with plans no matter who they affect. She truly does make Macbeth a more
interesting person through her evil schemes. I have given suck, and know how tender tis to love
the babe that milks me. I would, while it was smiling in my face, have plucked my nipple from
his boneless gums, and dashed the brains out had so sworn as you have done to this

killing Duncan while he sleeps. She explains to him that she would be so courageous as to tear
her baby away from her and kill it while it was smiling at her if she had promised to do so. The
fact that Lady Macbeth would be able to commit such an act in a tender moment as nursing her child

Analysis Of Theater Of The Oppressed By Augusto Boal
In Theater of the Oppressed , Augusto Boal argues that theater is inherently political and that
traditional, Aristotelian theater is inherently oppressive. He reviews the history of theater, from
Aristotle through Machiavelli, Hegel, and Brecht, and proposes a new idea of theater that breaks
the bounds between audience and performers, and between chorus and protagonist. In the
Introduction , Boal introduces his main proposition, that theater is inherently political. He presents
conflicting classical ideas of whether the theater is merely entertainment or is fundamentally
political. Aristotle argued that theater and poetry are independent of politics, and Boal seeks to
show that Aristotelian theater is a political tool that represses the... Show more content on

According to Boal, Aristotle s tragic hero has one flaw, a characteristic that is antisocial or
rebellious. The audience empathizes with this trait, and the virtuous character. When the flaw leads
the character to tragedy, the audience pities the character and fears for themselves, who share this
trait. Through the character s downfall, the trait is suppressed in the audience.
How does Art imitate Nature? Well Aristotle seems to think that Art imitates nature means that Art
recreates the creative principle of created things. Not in the sense that it mimics things in the world,
but that it re cerates nature. In this sense, art utilizes the creative principal of created things. Artistic
items are not exact reproductions, but contain much of the same tenets as the original so as to
impart knowledge and understanding about that item. Boal describes ideas of the thinkers of
Aristotle s time and how Aristotle may have developed this point of view. Boal concludes this sub
section of section one with the idea of knowledge and how it is presented. He suggests that through
dialectics and the debate of ideas knowledge ascends. Boal further depicts how Aristotle may have
reconciled his position on the arts and society with that of his contemporaries. He introduced new
concepts in the perception that substance is the enduring unity of matter and form. In tragedy
(Aristotle s characterization for theater),

Fashioning a Fraud Case Study Essay
In this article, Bobbie Jean Donnelly was a fraudster who used Travel and Expense reimbursements
to defraud her company. Donnelly figured out how to manipulate her travel and expense
reimbursements to eventually defraud her company of about $275,000. Had her company had
proper controls in place for travel and expense reimbursements, wouldn t have occurred to this
magnitude.
Donnelly was targeted in an internal investigation because she was one of three employees with the
highest amounts of travel and expense reimbursements hers totaling, $115,000. One of the red flags
in the case was the fact that Donnelly s supervisor had only submitted $40,000 in travel and expense

When this scheme was used, Donnelly would also follow Exhibit 7 6 from Wells, and prepare an
expense report claiming numerous taxi expenses. For supporting documentation she would alter or
photocopy the original receipt and then change amounts of tip or total. These could have either
been forged or given to the supervisor who at first glance may not realize that these are fictitious
documents. This type of fraud is difficult to prevent but can easily be detected. Fictitious
reimbursements can be detected by; expenses that are consistently rounded off, patterns in which
expenses are consistently for the same amount, reimbursement requests that are consecutively
numbered, or receipts that do not look professional or lack information. (Wells, 187 188)
Preventing and detecting reimbursement expenses can be very challenging and time consuming
for companies. However, in order to prevent these schemes, a company needs to have explicit
policies that clearly convey to each and every employee what will and will not be reimbursed.
Donnelly was able to defraud her company out of a quarter of a million dollars in a short two

Descriptive Essay Subway
Alone In the Subway
I cherish all of the places that I get to travel to and experience. The summer vacation of 2014
really struck my attention when something very alarming happened. My mother, father, brother,
two cousins (Cade and Callie), and my uncle Al, and aunt Kris, and I were all getting ready to
board the subway below the streets of Washington D.C. This was not my first ordeal with the
putrid, murky railway; whereas it was my relatives first time. First, Cade and Drayton boarded
the subway. Next, was Callie, and lastly, myself who all walked onto the subway. The doors began
to close; warning us with a blaring beep, beep, beep! As my family and I walked down the long
stretch of the stairs, we heard a great deal of chatter. The air was murky and the lights were dim.
Our fathers paid instantly, and my family and I were on our way. The subway came after waiting
a maximum of five minutes. Before we boarded the subway, we assisted a father with his child
in a stroller to exit the train before the doors closed. After helping that family, my own family
and I were very excited to finally get onto the metro train and then visit the monuments.
Suddenly, we heard this bizarre beeping sound, let s just say no one knew what it meant at the
time. First, rushed Cade and Drayton. Next, Callie and I followed, hustling onto the subway. The
doors closed; again, blaring a beep, beep, beep; just like it did before we got on. From the inside
the subway doors, it s ironic seeing your parents trying to reopen the doors, on the other side. It was
puzzling and unreal.
Wait! No! I screamed.
Our parents are out there! shouted Callie.
First, I thought to call one of our parents. Did any of you bring your phones? I asked Cade and
Callie.
Just to our luck, Cade and Callie both replied, No we left them at the hotel this morning.
Secondly, I thought we could ask someone on the subway for the phone. Sadly, everyone else
was carrying on with their own life; it almost felt as if we all were all alone in the subway. I was
only going in fifth grade at the time, so I was waiting for someone else to make a decision, hence
I m the youngest. This wasn t unreal anymore, it was serious. At last, we all agreed to get off at the

type of child care is family day care which consists of child care in a home other than the child s

typically have activities and play areas to accommodate the children they care for. However,
much like in home child care, family day care providers generally do not have adequate child

The concurring judgment of 2:1 was pronounced by the SC on 20th January, 2012. The decision
has been widely discussed because of interesting point of law and huge revenue involved of Rs.

Government s losing the Vodafone s case, the stand of the Govt. has weakened in other similar
cases. The legal issue related to the interpretation of provisions of section 9 of the Income tax Act,

related to the issue whether any income accrued or arose to Vodafone in India on entering into

marginalize them within the community. (47) This analysis and these strict prohibitions show us
the intensive political pressure on the minority groups. Another vital point is the Turkish
government did not recognize even the Kurdish, Arabic, Circassian tongues because of the
mainstream nationalist discourse persecuted to the community. Until the liberalization period, those
kinds of pressures and attrition policies densely influenced the Turkish language s evolution. In
1980 s, Turgut Г–zal introduced imported goods as a consequence Turkish people became familiar

Insanity In Fyodor Dostoevsky
Fyodor Dostoevsky s Raskolnikov is criminally insane. He is unable to control his actions despite
having the understanding that they are morally wrong. In addition to his illness he lives in St.
Petersburg, a city that was at the forefront of Russian cultural exchange with Europe. As a result of
this exchange, the mentally unstable Raskolnikov was introduced to the Nietzschean philosophyof
the Ubermensch. This lead Raskolnikov to kill an elderly moneylender and her disabled sister.
Using a violent mentally unstable criminal as his narrator allowed Dostoevsky to reveal the
deleterious effect Western philosophy would have on Russian society if it was not counteracted by
a return to traditional belief. Raskolnikov would be classified as insane under the Irresistible
Impulse Insanity Defense. The Irresistible Impulse InsanityDefense is characterized by an inability
to control conduct due to insanity (University of Minnesota). Unlike the oft used M Naghten
defense, those who call the Irresistible Impulse Defense may have committed their actions because
of their insanity, but have the understanding that their actions were morally or legally wrong
(Francone). Raskolnikov s actions seem premeditated, he claims to have rehearsed the murder
several times in his head, however he still questions is ability to commit the crime despite having
an intricate plan for how to commit the crime: Will I really do it, will I really take an axe and hit
her on the head with it... (Dostoevsky

Blanche s Psychological Breakdown
In Tennesse Williams play, A Streetcar Named Desire the readers are introduced to a character
named Blanche DuBois. In the plot, Blanche is Stella s younger sister who has come to visit
Stella and her husband Stanley in New Orleans. After their first meeting Stanley develops a strong
dislike for Blanche and everything associated with her. Among the things Stanley dislikes about
Blanche are her spoiled girl manners and her indirect and quizzical way of conversing. Stanley
also believes that Blanche has conned him and his wife out of the family mansion. In his opinion,
she is a good for nothing leech that has attached itself to his household, and is just living off him.

Food Politics
The ways in which the food system is failing us are numerous. It is failing some in quantity, while
failing others in quality. The only members of the food system that are not being exploited are the
corporate food producers, and that is because they are the exploiters in this equation. Just like the
schoolyard that we are all familiar with, there are two groups on the foodsystem playground; the
bullied and the bullies. In comparison to the schoolyard example, the bullies are in the minority,

Impact of minimum wage law.
In this paper I m going to answer the following questions with regards to the situation when a
higher minimum wage is enacted: will the number of workers hired change? why? what might be
an unintended consequence of a higher minimum wage law designed to help low income
workers? To further entail other requirements, this paper is aimed to be at least a 1 2 page, font
size 12, double spaced, Times New Roman font, and lastly, include a reference list.
The results of implementation of minimal wage law can be assessed using demand and supply
curves. A demand curve defines the quantity of products at certain prices which are required by all
market players. It is normally used (together with supply curve) to determine equilibrium price and
equilibrium amount of a certain good or service which is required by ... Show more content on

According to OpenStax, Principles of Economics it can be a change in income, population, tastes,
prices of substitutes or complements, or expectations about future prices. All these variables

the left or the right. The movement to the right happens when the amount of required good is
increased at any price compared to the initial position. Conversely, a shift to the left occurs when
the amount of demanded good is decreased at all costs compared to the original position.
The minimal wage law in fact is a price floor which limits employers from decrease the salary

A conglomerate of criminals who have put in the time to produce public good while also

At first glance the retributivist argument against the proposed alternative punishment system is
valid and sound, but with a closer look the average individual can see that there are flaws in this
argument. If the goal of retributivist punishment is to truly correct the wrongs of a criminal by
acting in such a manner that assuages the negativities produced by a crime, then there should be
multiple ways to go about punishing an individual. Who is to say that a person who commits

College Essay On Down Syndrome
Down syndrome is a congenital disorder resulting from a chromosome defect. Down syndrome
affects people of all ages, race, and economic status. It causes an increased risk of health problems
and developmental issues. Researchers have found that centuries ago there were people who
seemed to depict the same features of those with Down syndrometoday. In 1866, John Langdon
Down was the first to identify Down syndrome as a disorder. Before he described it as a disorder,
those with Down syndrome were killed, abandoned, or excluded from society. Many were also
institutionalized and received improper treatment because of the uncertainty of the disorder. In
1959, the French physician JГ©rГґme Lejeune identified Down syndrome as a chromosomal
condition. Instead of the usual 46 chromosomes present in each cell, Lejeune observed 47 in the
cells of individuals with Down syndrome.

The Necklace
Every single story in the entire world has character development in some form. In the story The
Necklace, written by Guy de Maupassant, Mathilde, a middle classed woman that has always
wanted to be wealthy, loses a necklace that was not hers. She does not tell the person that gave it to
her and this causes a lot of problems, including her having to get the money back. Mathilde ends up
buying a real diamond necklace not knowing that the necklacethat she lost was only paste. Through
these trials of loss and stress, the author shows the real character of Mathilde. Authors use these
trials to develop the character. How doe Guy de Maupassant do it? He develops the character of
Mathilde by showing her comments, feelings, and general attitude for things.
Whenever the author shows Mathilde s comments, it develops her character. In the story it says

ABSTRACT
Ten shales samples obtained in X Formation, Afikpo Basin and were subjected to geochemical
analysis to determine the TOC , SOM and Rock eval pyrolysis. The TOC values varied from 0.6
7.36 % 1.60w% 1.80w% with an average of 1.66w%, while the SOM values ranged from 100 380
% . Tmax range from 442 462 . The above results show that the TOC values fall above the
minimum threshold for hydrocarbon generation potential. The minimum threshold value for TOC
is 0.5%. The average SOM value is also indicative of good source rock potential for the studied
samples. The Tmax values in the study area shows that the sediments are immature and have not
reached the oil generation phase, but are within the gas phase. The organic matter quantity is
adequate for sediments to yield hydrocarbon whereas the organic matter quality is inadequate to
expel hydrocarbon.
(I)INTRODUCTION
Most people now believe that oil and gas are formed when the remains of dead animals and plants
are mixed with sediments, buried and formed into rocks and then heated deep underground. The
oil and gas then seep out through porous rocks where they may or may not collect in an oil or gas
field.

If any main predator species were to become extinct then prey species would no longer have any
factors regulating their population. Therefore, the prey would have an overproduction of offspring
which would cause a decrease in the plant life and have continuous damage down to the bottom of
the food chain. Eventually, the major disaster that would occur is the exhaustion of the food supply.
Even though poaching may seem unstoppable because of its supply and demand methods, many
people and countries have banded together to help stop the destruction of species and the
detriments that follow. One organization that is attempting to stop poaching is the Environmental
Investigation Agency. The EIA has spread awareness to many different areas and has been
informing the public about how vulnerable ecosystems are and the repercussions that will result if
poaching continues. It also educates people on the simple ways they can help reduce poaching

A Study On How It Works
5.5 HOW IT WORKS In this section describes the working of each part of indexer. 5.5.1
Repository It is like a database where crawler searches the documents and put into it. It is used
to store the data which is search by the crawler. It provides the documents as a input to the
clustering algorithm to make the cluster. 5.5.2 Clustering This phase take the input of
documents to make the cluster. To make the cluster I have applied an agglomerative approach
which is a hierarchal approach. It take 2 document and make one cluster and produce the
hierarchy. With this hierarchy approach a hierarchy of cluster like mega cluster ,super clusters
are generated by itself which help in the searching in efficient way. Now it can create the index
at each level. As it is taking the common words in clusters then index at higher level will be
smelled. When the user search for matter it will go to the higher index. As the user put the more
words in the query our search will get narrowed and user will get the particular documents which
is relevant. This can be explained with the help of an example. Example Fig. 5.5 Hierarchal
clustering Now it has hierarchy of clusters and at each level it has index. At higher level it has
smaller index which will take less time in searching. Now when the user searches first

Jainism Is The Last Of The Great Teachers
Jainism is an India religion with most of it s more than four million followers residing there. It
was founded by Mahavira, who lived from 599 to 527 BCE. Mahavira was born into the kshatriya
class of rulers and warriors. At the age of thirty he renounced the privileges this class afforded him
to live an ascetic life. Reaching enlightenment only fourteen years later, Mahavira became a
Vardhamana gaining followers until thirty years later when he starved himself to death. Mahavira is

(The unhappy passage of the soul from one body to another). They believe they can do this through
physical denial and mental self discipline, when they reach enlightenment through these means they

The Significant Roles Of Citizen Journalism And The Role...
When it comes to journalism, citizen journalism is not any different from what democracy is
when it comes to politics and civic life. It allows for the active participation of the citizens in news
gathering and reporting. The advancements that have taken place in the field of technology have
enabled people to gain an opportunity to become producers of content that they used to be
consumers of in the past through the mainstream media. Today, everyone has an opportunity to
become a citizen journalist (Allan and Einar 76). There is an array of social media platforms and
accounts whose key role is to disseminate information to the public, especially in cases where
individuals may feel that conventional journalismwould want to shield the public from some
information. Citizen journalists employ an extensive range of methods in the generation and
dissemination of information. Much of these are driven by the advancements that have taken place
in the field of technology and the forms of communication available to the public. These include
the internet, the mobile phone, and the different camera gadgets which can all be employed in the
gathering and sharing of information (DeMers, 89). One of the significant roles that citizen
journalism could play in the society would be to fill the gap that is often left by traditional media

Tom Sawyer Analysis
Mark Twain once said, Classic A book which people praise and don t read. The debate about
what the definition of what a classic is has been talked about for many decades. Even Mark
Twain, author of many outstanding classics, has an opinion about what a classic is . However, a
classic novel is a book that offers more discovery after every reread, withstands the reviews of
millions of critics, and its readers are able to relate to it, in any day and age. To start, one element
that makes a novela classic is that it offers a continuous amount of discovery after every reread. A
classic must offer an ongoing journey of discovery because there are many different story
elements in classics such as language, theme, and foreshadowing. These all help the reader to
acquire more knowledge about the novel. Unlike pop culture novels, which only offer
entertainment, classics help readers learn something. This requires many in depth reads to fully
grasp the layers of the novel. Along with that, classics do not tell the readers what is going on. The
author of a classic would hint at it with clues hidden in between the lines, after each read, the novel
should be pieced together like a puzzle, otherwise, the novel has no true lesson being taught. The
Adventures of Tom Sawyer, has many qualities that fit this pillar. One example of how Tom Sawyer
fits this pillar was in Chapter 13 when Tom, Huck, and Joe, went to Jackson Island. There were
many internal conflicts, elements of

Ocean Symbolism In Lord Of The Flies
A symbol is anything that represents an object, an idea, a character, an action, or an animal in
the story. Many times, these symbols signify something conceptual, like a force of nature, a
condition of the world, or an idea. In the book, Lord Of The Flies, there are many symbols that
signify the beginning or end of something new in the story. For example, the island and the
ocean, the water current flowing backwards, and the beast all symbolize a new change and
realization to the story. The island and the ocean symbolize an uncharted, untouched area, the
indefinite and endless nature of life that can change from calm to chaos in seconds, and, also,
strength, tranquility, and stability. The island and the ocean symbolize both a paradise and also
the destructive nature of humanity. The island can symbolize a Garden of Eden, a pristine and
bountiful place where the boys can begin anew. In the beginning of the book, Jack says, we are
going to have fun on this island (Golding 104). The boys really did think of this island as a
paradise, or at least Jack did. However, much like the biblical Garden of Eden, paradise can be
suddenly lost when the boys are enticed by evil. The advent of the boys pollutes the sanctity of
the island, as did the advent of Satan and the eventual temptation of Eve and loss and innocence
( Lauryn Galloway ). The pristine paradise is set on fire by the boys and everything gets
destroyed but luckily it saved them because a ship saw the smoke. The ocean can symbolize the
incessant and endless nature of life but it also symbolizes becoming astray and then finding one
s way through life. The ocean is a boundless space isolating the boys from all they once knew
about the world. But after Simon dies and gets washed out into the sea, the ocean symbolizes all
good getting washed away, getting replaced by evil. Simon becomes the good bygone and Jack
becomes the evil washing over. But the island and the ocean aren t the only symbols in the book.
The water current flowing backwards, that deceives many into thinking it is just a detail, actually
symbolizes more. The water current flowing backwards can symbolize many things. It could be
giving the subtle impression that civilization may be

Classroom Reflection
At Rolling Green, many areas are used for gym classes now. The temperature recently just rose
to the mid 60s. Before the temperature rose, students would participate outside on the schools
tennis court, around the baseball diamond, and sometimes the old soccer field. Now, students are
participating in the small gym towards the middle of the school building. This helps make it
easier for students who didn t dress for the cold weather stay warm. As well as not fully
protecting students, but avoiding possibility for children to get sick due to extreme climate
change. In this reflection, I will give a brief description of the physical arrangements in the
physical education classroom inside. I will then give a description of routines and procedures.
Next, I will talk about one of the instructors grouping strategies and activities that stuck out to me
the most. Finally, I will speak about one change I would make, and why I would make that change.
To begin with, the inside physical education classroom is extremely small. Normally there will be
two classes in the room at one time, which leads to the instructors dividing the room up with the
middle door. When the gym is divided, the left side just has a stage and volleyball nets taking up a
small percentage of space. On the other side of the divided room, there are chairs, volleyball polls,
and tumbling mats cluttering the rooms space. Normally the Instructor will try to move extra items
out of the way as much as possible. If students have to run, then the items are moved to the four
furthest corners of that side of the room. Other times the extra items will be placed in the instructors
personal office, or even the equipment storage room. On both sides of the gym, there are posters all
over the walls to motivate the students to be healthy, happy and enjoy life t the fullest. There are

Boo Radley Prejudice
The definition of the word prejudice is a preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual
experience. In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee shows the horrible things prejudice can
cause to the people the prejudice is against, including three main characters: Arthur Radley, Atticus
Finch and Tom Robinson. To start off, the result of prejudice
is seen through Arthur Boo Radley. In
the town of Maycomb County, Boo Radley is known of as a beast (or monster) for stabbing his
father in the leg while he was making a scrapbook, among other things. Although this was not the
best thing he could ve done, no one actually knows if there was a reason for him doing this and the
citizens of Maycomb are not letting Arthur show what type of person he actually is. Another
hardship containing prejudice at Arthur Radley is between Scout, Jem and Dill. When Dill comes
to visit his aunt from Meridian, the three... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nearly all of Scouts friends have fathers that are youthful and able to do activities that her father
is unable to do because of his age. This shows prejudice because Scout is making a snap
judgment before getting all the information correct and could have at least talked to Atticus about
something that Scout and him could have done together that isn t too tiring for him. Later on,
we read about how Atticus is very well trained with a gun. Yet, this is something Atticus is not
proud of and doesn t want to have anything to do with shooting a gun. The second event of
prejudice towards Atticus is when he gets called a nigger lover for supporting the idea of him
defending a black man named Tom Robinson. The third incidence of prejudice towards Atticus is
when Bob Ewell spits on Atticus s face after he finds out Atticus will be defending Tom Robinson:
What kind of man are you! Bob Ewell says this after he finds out Atticus is going to try his hardest

Benefits Of Living In A Shared House In College
Living in a shared house while you are in college is for sure your life experience. Either you
have great, good or not that good experience, there is a high possibility that what you experience
in a shared house remain in your memories for the rest of your life. One of the reasons might be
the fact that you have to live with people that probably you had never seen before. Moreover,

of all because it is a great opportunity to expand someone s friendship, for example if the person

cities, it is a chance to have ten more friends. At the same time, it allows to know more about those
owns, because despite the fact that they are in the same country and even in the same region, there
are slight cultural differences such as different names for the same fruit for example.
On the other hand, people s experience living in a shared house may not be the best, especially for
those ones who had never been left home. For them, it might be really difficult because usually they
are not used to do housework, and as they are on they are on they own, they might experience some

The future of the world is here they are working on making a self driving 18 wheeler. they are
trying to make it to where they re trying to make it safer for people on the road driving near
them. Technology is getting really close to making this a reality. They are planning to have this
invention done and fully tested in every way possible by 2020 2025. They say by then they should
definitely have it fully finished and working perfectly. One of the biggest questions everyone has is
safety. How can a 40 ton self driving 18 wheeler be safe? In 2012, over 330,000 large trucks were
involved in crashes that killed about 4,000 people in the United States. Close to 90% of those were
caused by driver error. Truckdrivers are human. We can be tired, stressed, and angry. As of now,
the Freightliner trucks can t handle bad weather. If bad weather rolls in, the Freightliner truck
will tell the driver to take over the driving of the truck. The Freightliner Inspiration still needs to
log millions of test miles before you start seeing them along your long haul routes. While self
driving trucks are still a decade away from mass production, they are closer to reality than you
think. At first glance you might think your job is in jeopardy, but in fact, a self driving or semi
autonomous truck is designed to make your life easier. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. market
researchers predict that we might see the first semi autonomous trucks on the market as soon as

User Manual Critique
Many technical fields rely on user manuals, operator manuals and technical manuals to do their
day to day tasks at work. Without these manuals there would be too much information for one
person to know to be able to their job. Accidents, personal or equipment would be more frequent
in the work field. That is why manuals are developed, to prevent accidents and to keep people
informed of updated information on equipment. So a well developed and written manual will help
a person succeed at their job, which is why someone needs to critique a manual before it is released
to the public.

Conciseness
The reading of each instruction leaves a person with no doubt on what they are supposed to do,
and when a step is done and what step to take next. Each topic is short and to the point and clear.
Consistency
All paragraphs, heading and graphics are consistent with all material that has been developed in
this manual. Graphics are simple and can be easily followed.
Document Design
Graphic s show a picture of the drill or parts of the drill with arrows and hands showing how to
do a particular part, such as inserting the battery on to the drill. If there was any real issue with
this manual is that there is not enough white space. Sometimes you can get lost because each
paragraph and heading is so close together. The manual though is very organized, with numbering
and header separations. All hazards and warning are easily identified with bold lettering, and a
safety triangle (or danger sign). This was a black and white manual, so there were no color pictures
or graphics, which could lead readers to just skim through the pages and not really read the
important information.
I did find the manual very easy to understand and follow, however there are a few things that I think
that the writers of this manual could have done. Adding color to the manual does keep the interest
of the reader, I found myself wanting to skim through

Representation Of Women In The Media Essay
Representation of women over time
By James Hall
In my opinion, the representation of women within the media hasn t changed. However, outside of
media it has improved.
Firstly, by the 1950 s American women had come a long way. During World War II women had
entered the working environment in mass numbers, however when the war was over, many
women then returned home to find their jobs were taken by the men. The next passing of
women s rights laws wouldn t come until the early to mid 1960s when the Equal Pay Act was
finally passed in the 1963, which meant that the gap between women s and men s pay was
shortened however, women were still being paid less in various circumstances. But in the 1950 s
/60 s media coverage showed women as being weak around the home and confused when it came
to manly jobs .
In recent years there has been a big attitude change towards women in the media. A large amount of
the influence came from American TV shows that then triggered the change in British television,
who were historically less likely to change their ways.
However there are opposing messages in the media still. For example: Desperate Housewives (the
title itself continues to put down women). Throughout the series the women of Wisteria Lane focus
almost entirely on pleasing the man in their life, through cooking and cleaning. None of ... Show

Lenin s Legacy
Throughout the 1800s and into the 1900s the industrial revolution s unparalleled level of change
pushed the world into a new era. While change occurred throughout this time, the most radical was
the implementation of Communist ideology in Tsarist Russia. In a series of revolutions, Vladimir
Lenin seized power for the Bolsheviks, establishing the world s first Communist based government.
Lenin found himself in the predicament of building a state which would wither away, something
Marx claimed would happen naturally. However, this had never been attempted before, and quickly
Lenin found himself in a series of trial and error tests. Lenin s untimely death brought about more
immense changes, as a power struggle to assume control over his legacy... Show more content on

Lenin s revolution placed himself suddenly in a situation which Marx had never written from.
The revolution occurred, Bolsheviks had seized power, and suddenly a state would have to be
developed that would wither away while at the same time facing a civil crisis; a task deemed
near impossible (Lecture, Hoston March 7th). Lenin s own arguments prior to this held a much
more anarchical view, advocating for the abolition of the army, of long term bureaucracy, and of
the police force (State and Revolution 339). These calls would not be what went into effect in the
end. It is here we see the first of the many major departures from Lenin s original theory which
began to address the reality Russia was in. Lenin had realized that a state had to be strong at some
point, even if marching towards communism as Communism, makes the state absolutely
unnecessary, for there is nobody to be oppressed (State and Revolution 375). At the point Lenin was
in power, the communists still had those they needed to

Essay on Anyone Lived in a Pretty How Town Analysis
The poem anyone lived in a pretty how town by E.E. Cummings talks about the cycle of life and
the importance of structure, symbolism, and language of the poem. For instance, the poem has
nine stanzas, which has a rhyming pattern of AABC. The rhythm of the poem is significant for it
supports one of themes, the cycle of life. Cumming uses season to explain the poem s progress.
spring summer autumn winter (3) and sun moon stars rain (8) symbolizes time passing, which
represents life passing. In the poem, as the seasons and skies rotate, life continues along with

The plot of anyone lived in a pretty how town is simple, but it is the choices of language that
makes this poem complex. The story begins with anyone, which can be considered as a specific
person. Anyone is a guy who the Women and men, or the someones and everyones, of the town
don t care about, because he is different than they are. Although, the children of the town can see
the love of Anyone and Noone, but even they begin to dislike the difference of Anyone as down
they forgot as up they grew. (10) Anyone and Noone soon later are buried side by side, while the
people carry on living their lives, learning nothing from Anyone and Noone. Cumming uses his
own grammar to describe the relationship of Anyone and Noone. Anyone is not just anyone so
using anyone s any was all to her (16) shows the appreciation for Anyone s individuality. Because
of Anyone s any , this confronts the someones (17) or everyones (17) making Anyone unique.
The poem reveals the love that Anyone and Noone shares. This love they have, everyones does
not have. When Anyone sang his didn t and danced his did (4) and Noone laughed his joy and
cried his grief (14), gave differences of when someones and everyones laughed their cryings and
did their dance (18). Rhythmically, the poem can be thought as a free verse. Basically, it is in past
tense. For example, at the point when Anyone

The debate on net neutrality is far from over, and no one knows how the Internet will operate a

The Hidden Characteristics Of The Renaissance
The Baroque style is the product of the obsession with perfection from the Renaissance and the
strangeness of the Mannerists. These two periods combine with each other and what you get is the
Baroque. The Renaissance had hidden meanings and complex theologies hidden in their paintings.
The Baroque simplified that formula and made art more accessible to people, no hidden meanings
and no hidden symbols. Not only did it have this but the Baroquejust did not simply tell a story but
a moment in time from that story. This moment in time technique not only allowed for some
showmanship in skill but allowed the viewer to take part of the moment with usually and empty
space for the viewer. Because of this does the viewer remain just that, a viewer or do we become
part narrative? This interaction between the viewer and the art is no longer like the outside and
miniscule feeling one gets from looking at the perfection of Renaissance masters. And it is
definitely not like the strange exchange and confusion that comes from the harsh mannerists. But
rather, the Baroque offers the viewer a space in the scene, an interaction. It is often warm and
inviting when appropriate and allows even uneducated people to understand what is going on. The
Baroque has more of a human quality than a divine one. The use of spot lighting by certain artists
such as Caravaggioand his followers allow the story to become the most important and the
interaction between the viewer and the art becomes a story of its

Heroin is processed from the poppy plant. The Opium poppy had been cultivated and marketed for

1874 by C. R. Alder Wright.1 At that time the production of heroin was in response to the demand
for the need of a non addictive pain killer. The substance was produced but sat dormant for a

In Just Ee Cummings Summary
Analysis of E.E. Cummings In Just
Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any
experience that reveals the human spirit (BrainyQuote). Edward Estlin Cummings (most
commonly known as E.E. Cummings) proves this quote to be accurate because Cummings takes
those risks to make his poems very spontaneous and out there such as in r p o p h e s s a g r .
This 19th century poet made great poems that won many honors and awards such as the Dial award
and many more. Cummings believed in his style of poetry, he took those risks that other people

The setting of this poem occurs outside in spring. Where children are playing and doing what
one would see all little kids doing, playing hopscotch, playing in the mud, and dancing around.
This poem is an auditory as well as a visual read. It s meant to be read aloud, even the title
becomes part of the poem itself. The poem itself visually takes the reader along the trail in the
park in early spring when little children are running around and when the sun is out and shining
bright. Cummings has a sort of odd structure to this poem making it look like it dances around to
go with the theme of playfulness and dancing. The line Spring when the world is mud luscious
(cummings,1) goes with the title of Cummings poem it plays into the theme of it all. Also, the line
and bettyandisbel come dancing from hop scotch and jump rope (Cummings,13 14) relates to the
theme because of how the names are scrunched together symbolizing how a child would talk, and
the hop scotch and jump rope being the children playing. Therefor the poem In just by E.E
Cummings represents a child s world and their innocence and playfulness. Cummings expresses
himself in this poem with metaphors such as when the world is mud luscious ( Poetry

  • 2. Welcome to the Realm of Love Welcome to the realm of love You dream of an unfamiliar hand being placed on your elbow. It is tender and adoring, but at the same moment it has a gargantuan power that easily lifts you awake. You are suspended over a countryside at dawn. You gaze downward and you realize that this cosmic expanse extending out to the horizon and distant beyond it is all your property. The existence you have endured and have yet to live stretches out beneath you. It s surprisingly gigantic, a complete continent sheltered with a subtle cobalt vapor. You can scarcely familiarize yourself, but you worship this territory from deep within your spirit. You marvel at that, but just for a short minute, because it then occurs to you what this immeasurable immense and magnificent ground beneath you is: it s called love. As you slowly drift downwards, you are still gazing, lost in thought, at the landscape before your eyes. You touch down gently, grateful to feel the earth below your feet. A delicate fog surrounds you. You see a lightin front of and up above you. A mighty tower looms before you. Completely solitary, it rises from the landscape like a pillar. It is beautiful and strangely familiar, as if you had been there many times before. Light comes from a small window set high in the facade. Something wonderful is shining there, gentle and friendly. As you walk around the tower, you see an open door. You go inside, where a broad, winding staircase greets you. Each step, each stone is familiar. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The analysis performed includes inquiries in regard to the legality of Tommy s claim and whether it is justifiable under the rule of misrepresentation; both fraud and innocent misrepresentation have been considered. In addition, surveys were collected from groups of movie goers, and the analysis concludes the percentage of patronage preferences. It is recommended that Mr. Plex, and the... Although he was unhappy with the commercials, he stayed until he was discontent with the movie that he had paid for. Ultimately, Tommy was denied a refund, as it is a policy of the Royal theatre; therefore, Tommy has expressed his intent to initiate a class action lawsuit believing that his rights were violated. Analysis Liability for Fraud: What Tommy Must Prove to Win Assuming that a contract existed at the time of the event, between Tommy and the Theater, Tommy may use the following argument to prove his fraudulent claim. Tommy may argue that (1) a representation was made and that was that one of the terms of the contract provides that the movie will begin at 1 PM. Thus, he was induced by a fraudulent claim because the movie started 20 minutes after commercials ended. Tommy may also suggest (2) the representation was known to be false because the ticket stub indicated the movie would start at 1 p.m. Therefore, (2) the plaintiff was expected to rely on the fact that the movie was starting at 1 p.m.; moreover, (3) it was known to be false because the newspaper ad stated the time, (4) and it was made with the intention that the plaintiff rely on it because the cashier at the ticket stub affirmed it, (5) the ... • 4. Summary Of Thomas F Drayton s Response To The Civil War During the 19th century, slavery expanded geographically and demographically in the South and Southwest of America, generating a wave of abolitionist movements. These events provoked a different response in the country s society, since not everyone shared the same definition of slavery and freedom. These concepts started to get involved in almost every part of American sociopolitical life, creating differing points of view that would later conform the two sides in the Civil War of America: The Union in the north, and Confederacy in the south. Each side had its own arguments for supporting their cause, and we get an idea of them in the text Letter of Thomas F. Drayton (1861). • 5. Matilda The Musical Analysis Family friendly, heart tugging, hilarious, energy filled, Matilda the Musical does it all in this unbelievable performance and is a must see for everyone. The humor is perfect for all ages and will have everyone laughing, but at the same time still has little remarks that go over the kid s head. Matilda the Musical is currently playing in the beautiful Cambridge Theatre in London s West End and the set and special of effects of the Matilda are a little unnecessary at times, but still impressive nonetheless. This show will have you laughing and talking about the performance for days to come! Based on Roald Dahl s novel, Matilda is the story of an unwanted girl born to abusive parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood, that want nothing to do with her. The incredible conniving Mr. Wormwood, played by David Birch, is a used car salesman who will sell a lemon to anyone to make some quick cash. Mrs. Wormwood, played by Marianne Benedict, is so caught up in her ballroom dancing championships that she totally neglects the fact that she is so visibly pregnant. However, the child she gives birth to is Matilda Wormwoodand she is an exceptional little girl with mind powers and an innate ability to read and tell stories. Later on Matilda is sent to a dreadful school under the leadership of the callous headmaster, Miss Trunchbull. Miss Trunchbull, played by David Shannon, is tyrannical and merciless in her approach to dealing with children and even goes as far to say the phrase Children are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Club Drugs and Teens Essay Introduction In today s society, teens are a common target of anti drug campaigns and government advertisements. The goal of these campaigns is to make teens and young adults aware of the dangers associated with drug use. While these campaigns are generally effective, teens are still greatly tempted by the dangerous, exciting, and fast paced world of club drugs. Despite the information they are constantly receiving from their teachers, parents, and government media, some teenagers will still adamantly pursue drugs in hopes of finding a good time. Some of the club drugs that teens are likely to try are extremely dangerous and can ruin a person s mental or physical health with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is used as a dissociative drug, one that can cause near death or out of body experiences in users. This was first realized when medical patients who were under the influence of Ketamine reported experiences in which they floated around the room they were in, watching their own body being operated on by doctors. While this was startling, Ketamine was still seen as a very useful anesthetic in the medical world, and continued to be used by doctors. In today s club and rave scene, especially in Europe, buying and using Ketamine from non pharmaceutical sources can be extremely risky, due to mislabeling, inaccurately noted or inconsistent potency, and a common practice of mixing Ketamine with other, more powerful drugs before sales. When a user buys Ketamine from a drug dealer, it is quite possible that he or she is also getting cocaine, heroin, or ecstasy mixed with their purchase. Because teenagers can be uncaring about their own safety, some simply see Ketamine as a safe, harmless drug. However, the drug they buy can be something much stronger and much more dangerous than pure medical Ketamine. While it s use has declined since it s outlawing in 1999, Ketamine is still sold on the streets and used by teens. It is legal in many other countries, and fears of increased use are arising. • 7. Implementing Generic And Generic Drugs INTRODUCTION Over the last few years, the United States Supreme Court has struggled to determine when a manufacturer is liable, and should be held accountable, for violating the duty to warn consumers about the dangers associated with brand and generic drugs through their labeling. Further, the Court has grappled with determining which channels are available to consumers when a drug manufacturer breaches their duty. With the swarm of inconsistencies set forth by the Court in each newly decided case, and a proposed rule regarding generic changes being effected preparing to take effect Fall 2015, it is difficult to determine if the necessary guidance for drug manufacturers and consumers has been provided. Pharmaceutical drug ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Second, laws such as the learned intermediary doctrine state, and courts have widely held, that a prescription drug manufacturer s duty to warn runs to the physician, the learned intermediary , not directly to the patient. Only one state, New Mexico, has rejected the doctrine calling it outdated due to the recent increase in direct to consumer marketing. The Court has struggled to define the distinction, if any, between generic and branded drugs in terms of state tort liability and failure to warn claims. In Wyeth v. Levine, the Court decided that the FDA s drug labeling requirements for brand drugs do not preempt state tort claims related to the dissemination of safety information. In essence, brand name manufacturers will be held liable for failure to update their warning labels in an effective and efficient manner. Just two short years later, the Court contradicts its decision in Wyeth, and defines a distinction for generic drug products, which applies federal preemption principles in Pliva v. Mensing. Finally, in Mutual Pharamceutical v. Bartlett, the Court effectively barred generic failure to warn, and defective design claims in state courts. Currently, under state law, generic drug product ... • 8. Unknown Organic Compounds Lab Report Identification of Unknown Organic Compounds by Melting Point, Boiling Point, Infrared and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Background and Method In the previous labs we were experimenting with different methods so that we can find different physical properties of the known compound. However, this lab report is a little different as it gives us two unknown compounds where we have to use the prior knowledge we have gotten in the other labs to ensure that we know exactly how to ultimately find the correct molecular structure of the unknown compounds. Therefore in this lab, we had to perform elemental analysis, boiling point, infrared (IR), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopies (NMR) and melting point. Thus, the main objective of this lab was to ensure that the students knew how apply the techniques from the previous labs and interpret the spectroscopy data to formulate the correct structure of the compound. We were assigned G and H. G was the solid and H was the liquid unknown compound. That being said the first step was the elemental analysis. Thus, the very first step was the identification of the... That being said it is very important to ensure that there is minimal impurities or the apparatus is not overly heated, this will lead to inaccurate data as it will give the wrong readings (Landrie, 193). • 9. Traffic Court Observation Paper I decided to attend a night traffic court session at the Ventura Courthouse. The cases ranged from seat belt violations to reckless driving. Most of the defendants appeared before the court to request more time to pay the fines associated with the tickets. I was surprised to see that very few of the people in the courthouse were pleading not guilty. Only one person showed up to defend a case with legal help from an attorney of some sort. The first person to claim not guilty was charged with speeding. I tried to get as many of the details of the case as possible. After the stop, she proceeded to turn right through the intersection. Shortly thereafter, she was stopped by a officer and was charged with violating CVC 22450(a) Failure to stop for stop sign. The defendant stated that she told the officer that she had stopped at the limit line as required. The officer agreed and said: You stopped, but you didn t stop long enough. The defendant stated that the officer seemed to indicate in this statement that he wanted her to stop for a longer period of time than she actually had. The defendant read from the California Vehicle Code, the required length of time for a stop is defined in CVC 587 as Stop or stopping... shall mean any cessation of movement of a vehicle. The defendant then stated that she believed that any cessation of movement would include the stop she made. She then stressed that the officer, by his statements, seemed to believe that a set time period for a stop is required though no such set time length is actually provided for in the law. • 10. Through The Misty Panes And Thick Green Sea By Wilfred Owen Owen continues writing, Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light, / As under a green sea, I saw him drowning. / In all my dreams, before my helpless sight, / He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning (13 16). These lines from Owen s poem emphasized the dreadful atrocity of WWI: Chemical Warfare. The word pane means A framed sheet of glass in a window or door. Owen used the word pane to describe the two clear glass lenses of the gas mask. The description by Owen of green colored gas figuratively provides the reader an illusion of being underwater; however, chlorinegas floating in the air is literally green in color (CDC). Chlorine gas kills its victims by reacting with water in the lungs to form hydrochloric acid. This strong acid deteriorates the lining of the lungs and causes its victims to drown while standing on dry land (Fitzgerald 613). Owen knew this particular soldier was doomed because of the lethality of inhaling poisonous chlorine gas. Nonetheless, government propagandists refused to reveal the horrifying reality of inhumane deaths caused by chemical warfare. If this truth were disclosed, people would realize that soldiers were expendable objects with no guarantees of a dignified death. Owen states, If in some smothering dreams you too could pace / Behind the wagon that we flung him in, /... (17 18). These lines described the carnage after a chemical attack. Lady Macbeth is very convincing in her ideas, and does not leave a lot of space to think otherwise. Macbeth is not left much choice but to conform himself to his wife s mischievous strategy to get him to become king. He is very loyal, and wants to remain so to his king even knowing he would become king if Duncan, the present king, were to die. Lady Macbeth, however, has other plans for Macbeth, and she soon has him convinced to commit an act which will change their lives forever. Macbeth and his wife are truly opposite people, as Macbeth is laid back and easy going, while Lady Macbeth wants everything planned out and will go onward with plans no matter who they affect. • 14. Analysis Of Theater Of The Oppressed By Augusto Boal In Theater of the Oppressed , Augusto Boal argues that theater is inherently political and that traditional, Aristotelian theater is inherently oppressive. He reviews the history of theater, from Aristotle through Machiavelli, Hegel, and Brecht, and proposes a new idea of theater that breaks the bounds between audience and performers, and between chorus and protagonist. In the Introduction , Boal introduces his main proposition, that theater is inherently political. He presents conflicting classical ideas of whether the theater is merely entertainment or is fundamentally political. Aristotle argued that theater and poetry are independent of politics, and Boal seeks to show that Aristotelian theater is a political tool that represses the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Boal, Aristotle s tragic hero has one flaw, a characteristic that is antisocial or rebellious. The audience empathizes with this trait, and the virtuous character. When the flaw leads the character to tragedy, the audience pities the character and fears for themselves, who share this trait. Through the character s downfall, the trait is suppressed in the audience. How does Art imitate Nature? Well Aristotle seems to think that Art imitates nature means that Art recreates the creative principle of created things. Not in the sense that it mimics things in the world, but that it re cerates nature. In this sense, art utilizes the creative principal of created things. Artistic items are not exact reproductions, but contain much of the same tenets as the original so as to impart knowledge and understanding about that item. Boal describes ideas of the thinkers of Aristotle s time and how Aristotle may have developed this point of view. Boal concludes this sub section of section one with the idea of knowledge and how it is presented. He suggests that through dialectics and the debate of ideas knowledge ascends. Boal further depicts how Aristotle may have reconciled his position on the arts and society with that of his contemporaries. He introduced new concepts in the perception that substance is the enduring unity of matter and form. In tragedy (Aristotle s characterization for theater), ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The summer vacation of 2014 really struck my attention when something very alarming happened. My mother, father, brother, two cousins (Cade and Callie), and my uncle Al, and aunt Kris, and I were all getting ready to board the subway below the streets of Washington D.C. This was not my first ordeal with the putrid, murky railway; whereas it was my relatives first time. First, Cade and Drayton boarded the subway. Next, was Callie, and lastly, myself who all walked onto the subway. The doors began to close; warning us with a blaring beep, beep, beep! As my family and I walked down the long stretch of the stairs, we heard a great deal of chatter. The air was murky and the lights were dim. Our fathers paid instantly, and my family and I were on our way. The subway came after waiting a maximum of five minutes. Before we boarded the subway, we assisted a father with his child in a stroller to exit the train before the doors closed. After helping that family, my own family and I were very excited to finally get onto the metro train and then visit the monuments. Suddenly, we heard this bizarre beeping sound, let s just say no one knew what it meant at the time. First, rushed Cade and Drayton. Next, Callie and I followed, hustling onto the subway. The doors closed; again, blaring a beep, beep, beep; just like it did before we got on. From the inside the subway doors, it s ironic seeing your parents trying to reopen the doors, on the other side. It was puzzling and unreal. Wait! No! I screamed. Our parents are out there! shouted Callie. First, I thought to call one of our parents. Did any of you bring your phones? I asked Cade and Callie. Just to our luck, Cade and Callie both replied, No we left them at the hotel this morning. Secondly, I thought we could ask someone on the subway for the phone. Sadly, everyone else was carrying on with their own life; it almost felt as if we all were all alone in the subway. I was only going in fifth grade at the time, so I was waiting for someone else to make a decision, hence I m the youngest. This wasn t unreal anymore, it was serious. Even though poaching may seem unstoppable because of its supply and demand methods, many people and countries have banded together to help stop the destruction of species and the detriments that follow. One organization that is attempting to stop poaching is the Environmental Investigation Agency. The EIA has spread awareness to many different areas and has been informing the public about how vulnerable ecosystems are and the repercussions that will result if poaching continues. It also educates people on the simple ways they can help reduce poaching such as refusing any illegal animal items or parts offered to them. The United States, Canada, Taiwan, and Australia have also participated in the plan to prevent poaching. All four countries have laws against finning sharks, or the process of removing a shark s fins and then throwing back the body. Fisherman are allowed to catch sharks in these countries, but they must retrieve all of the shark and keep it intact. Nearly all countries and major ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. A Study On How It Works 5.5 HOW IT WORKS In this section describes the working of each part of indexer. 5.5.1 Repository It is like a database where crawler searches the documents and put into it. It is used to store the data which is search by the crawler. It provides the documents as a input to the clustering algorithm to make the cluster. 5.5.2 Clustering This phase take the input of documents to make the cluster. To make the cluster I have applied an agglomerative approach which is a hierarchal approach. It take 2 document and make one cluster and produce the hierarchy. With this hierarchy approach a hierarchy of cluster like mega cluster ,super clusters are generated by itself which help in the searching in efficient way. Now it can create the index at each level. As it is taking the common words in clusters then index at higher level will be smelled. When the user search for matter it will go to the higher index. As the user put the more words in the query our search will get narrowed and user will get the particular documents which is relevant. This can be explained with the help of an example. Example Fig. 5.5 Hierarchal clustering Now it has hierarchy of clusters and at each level it has index. At higher level it has smaller index which will take less time in searching. • 36. Jainism Is The Last Of The Great Teachers Jainism is an India religion with most of it s more than four million followers residing there. It was founded by Mahavira, who lived from 599 to 527 BCE. Mahavira was born into the kshatriya class of rulers and warriors. At the age of thirty he renounced the privileges this class afforded him to live an ascetic life. Reaching enlightenment only fourteen years later, Mahavira became a Vardhamana gaining followers until thirty years later when he starved himself to death. Mahavira is called the last of the great teachers. Jainismarose during the 6th century BCE. There were twenty four great religious leaders called Tirthankaras including Mahavira (the 24th). Tirthankaras were all enlightened humans whose teachings and stories point the way for others. Like Hinduismand BuddhismJainism is focused on separating from a physical form and escaping from reincarnation (The unhappy passage of the soul from one body to another). They believe they can do this through physical denial and mental self discipline, when they reach enlightenment through these means they are liberated. However Jainism did oppose Hindu priestly groups who emphasized salvation by sacrifices they controlled. Another difference between Jainism, Hinduism and Buddhism is, even though they use a lot of the same words and imagery, the Jains have put many of them into a different context. Some of the main symbols and meanings of those symbols for Jainism include the shape of human torso which represents the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. The Significant Roles Of Citizen Journalism And The Role... When it comes to journalism, citizen journalism is not any different from what democracy is when it comes to politics and civic life. It allows for the active participation of the citizens in news gathering and reporting. The advancements that have taken place in the field of technology have enabled people to gain an opportunity to become producers of content that they used to be consumers of in the past through the mainstream media. Today, everyone has an opportunity to become a citizen journalist (Allan and Einar 76). There is an array of social media platforms and accounts whose key role is to disseminate information to the public, especially in cases where individuals may feel that conventional journalismwould want to shield the public from some information. Citizen journalists employ an extensive range of methods in the generation and dissemination of information. Much of these are driven by the advancements that have taken place in the field of technology and the forms of communication available to the public. These include the internet, the mobile phone, and the different camera gadgets which can all be employed in the gathering and sharing of information (DeMers, 89). One of the significant roles that citizen journalism could play in the society would be to fill the gap that is often left by traditional media as they try to play their role as the protector of public interest. • 38. Tom Sawyer Analysis Mark Twain once said, Classic A book which people praise and don t read. The debate about what the definition of what a classic is has been talked about for many decades. Even Mark Twain, author of many outstanding classics, has an opinion about what a classic is . However, a classic novel is a book that offers more discovery after every reread, withstands the reviews of millions of critics, and its readers are able to relate to it, in any day and age. To start, one element that makes a novela classic is that it offers a continuous amount of discovery after every reread. A classic must offer an ongoing journey of discovery because there are many different story elements in classics such as language, theme, and foreshadowing. These all help the reader to acquire more knowledge about the novel. Unlike pop culture novels, which only offer entertainment, classics help readers learn something. This requires many in depth reads to fully grasp the layers of the novel. Along with that, classics do not tell the readers what is going on. The author of a classic would hint at it with clues hidden in between the lines, after each read, the novel should be pieced together like a puzzle, otherwise, the novel has no true lesson being taught. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, has many qualities that fit this pillar. One example of how Tom Sawyer fits this pillar was in Chapter 13 when Tom, Huck, and Joe, went to Jackson Island. • 39. Ocean Symbolism In Lord Of The Flies A symbol is anything that represents an object, an idea, a character, an action, or an animal in the story. Many times, these symbols signify something conceptual, like a force of nature, a condition of the world, or an idea. In the book, Lord Of The Flies, there are many symbols that signify the beginning or end of something new in the story. For example, the island and the ocean, the water current flowing backwards, and the beast all symbolize a new change and realization to the story. The island and the ocean symbolize an uncharted, untouched area, the indefinite and endless nature of life that can change from calm to chaos in seconds, and, also, strength, tranquility, and stability. The island and the ocean symbolize both a paradise and also the destructive nature of humanity. The island can symbolize a Garden of Eden, a pristine and bountiful place where the boys can begin anew. In the beginning of the book, Jack says, we are going to have fun on this island (Golding 104). The boys really did think of this island as a paradise, or at least Jack did. However, much like the biblical Garden of Eden, paradise can be suddenly lost when the boys are enticed by evil. The advent of the boys pollutes the sanctity of the island, as did the advent of Satan and the eventual temptation of Eve and loss and innocence ( Lauryn Galloway ). The pristine paradise is set on fire by the boys and everything gets destroyed but luckily it saved them because a ship saw the smoke. The ocean can symbolize the incessant and endless nature of life but it also symbolizes becoming astray and then finding one s way through life. The ocean is a boundless space isolating the boys from all they once knew about the world. But after Simon dies and gets washed out into the sea, the ocean symbolizes all good getting washed away, getting replaced by evil. Simon becomes the good bygone and Jack becomes the evil washing over. But the island and the ocean aren t the only symbols in the book. The water current flowing backwards, that deceives many into thinking it is just a detail, actually symbolizes more. The water current flowing backwards can symbolize many things. Next, I will talk about one of the instructors grouping strategies and activities that stuck out to me the most. Finally, I will speak about one change I would make, and why I would make that change. To begin with, the inside physical education classroom is extremely small. Normally there will be two classes in the room at one time, which leads to the instructors dividing the room up with the middle door. When the gym is divided, the left side just has a stage and volleyball nets taking up a small percentage of space. On the other side of the divided room, there are chairs, volleyball polls, and tumbling mats cluttering the rooms space. Normally the Instructor will try to move extra items out of the way as much as possible. If students have to run, then the items are moved to the four furthest corners of that side of the room. Other times the extra items will be placed in the instructors personal office, or even the equipment storage room. On both sides of the gym, there are posters all over the walls to motivate the students to be healthy, happy and enjoy life t the fullest. There are also some pictures of students with their instructors, and more photos of students in uniforms for certain sports. A daily routine for all of my instructors students, would be to come in the classroom and stand in order by their last name. However, outside of media it has improved. Firstly, by the 1950 s American women had come a long way. During World War II women had entered the working environment in mass numbers, however when the war was over, many women then returned home to find their jobs were taken by the men. The next passing of women s rights laws wouldn t come until the early to mid 1960s when the Equal Pay Act was finally passed in the 1963, which meant that the gap between women s and men s pay was shortened however, women were still being paid less in various circumstances. But in the 1950 s /60 s media coverage showed women as being weak around the home and confused when it came to manly jobs . In recent years there has been a big attitude change towards women in the media. A large amount of the influence came from American TV shows that then triggered the change in British television, who were historically less likely to change their ways. However there are opposing messages in the media still. For example: Desperate Housewives (the title itself continues to put down women). While change occurred throughout this time, the most radical was the implementation of Communist ideology in Tsarist Russia. Lenin found himself in the predicament of building a state which would wither away, something Marx claimed would happen naturally. Lenin s own arguments prior to this held a much more anarchical view, advocating for the abolition of the army, of long term bureaucracy, and of the police force (State and Revolution 339). These calls would not be what went into effect in the end. It is here we see the first of the many major departures from Lenin s original theory which began to address the reality Russia was in. • 52. The Hidden Characteristics Of The Renaissance The Baroque style is the product of the obsession with perfection from the Renaissance and the strangeness of the Mannerists. These two periods combine with each other and what you get is the Baroque. The Renaissance had hidden meanings and complex theologies hidden in their paintings. The Baroque simplified that formula and made art more accessible to people, no hidden meanings and no hidden symbols. Not only did it have this but the Baroquejust did not simply tell a story but a moment in time from that story. This moment in time technique not only allowed for some showmanship in skill but allowed the viewer to take part of the moment with usually and empty space for the viewer. Because of this does the viewer remain just that, a viewer or do we become part narrative? This interaction between the viewer and the art is no longer like the outside and miniscule feeling one gets from looking at the perfection of Renaissance masters. And it is definitely not like the strange exchange and confusion that comes from the harsh mannerists. But rather, the Baroque offers the viewer a space in the scene, an interaction. It is often warm and inviting when appropriate and allows even uneducated people to understand what is going on. The Baroque has more of a human quality than a divine one.
