Examining The Factors That Influence Eyewitness Testimony
Eyewitness testimony is the account of the witness of a certain event or incident. Throughout, the
witness is enforced to provide their experience to the court in order to take legal action towards the
incident. It is considered a very useful tool in courts. Yet, such a way to find out the truth is
unreliable as many witnesses fail to contribute in a positive way to grant courts accurate data of the
incident. This essay will be discussing the factors that influence eyewitness testimonyincluding age,
weapon focus, stress, or the leading questions asked in court.
When a witness perceives a complex event, a number of factors, such as the exposure time, or the
salience of the event, or the witness s prior expectations, will affect the accuracy of what is
perceived and stored in memory (Loftus, 1996). To Begin with, Loftus has explained how the
duration between when the witness has to talk to the officials and the event can be such a crucial
period. Humans usually forget rapidly after an event and time will make one forget more
gradually. Moreover, one s memory isn t functioned in a way in which a video of events will stay
in mind. A proof was made through Loftus experiment in 1975 where he showed the witnesses a
film of a multiple car accident then added in the questionnaire having a stop sign where they all
agreed that there was one. Yet, statistics have shown that not mentioning the object would cause
only 35% to claim there was one considering the accident lasted 4

Ray Bradbury s Fahrenheit 451
Have you ever stopped to wonder how modern technology has shaped our society, and where it
will lead our future of social interaction? Have you ever been sitting and listening to the news,
when you hear a new story on yet another book being banned for some petty reason, such as
protection of children s innocence or offensive content ? Have you thought about where such things
will take us and our changing, evolving definition of socializing? If you belong with those who
contemplate things, who turn things over in their minds, who don t allow themselves to use
ignorance as a shield from difficult, complex thinking, you may have answered yes . Knowledge,
wisdom, and logical reasoning are important to today s society, but unfortunately,... Show more

Oh, to scratch that itch, eh? Well, Montag, take my word for it, I ve had to read a few in my
time, to know what I was about, and the books say nothing! Nothing you can teach or believe. ...
You come away lost. (Bradbury 59) He explains that the words in books do not seem to be of any
value, and that reading them gives the reader not a speck of insight into any aspect of life. In
this society, his words ring true for almost everyone, except those who managed to learn before
the schools shut down and those who yearned to understand what books say. Furthermore,
Beatty s attempts to force Montag into the mold of this society pushes the man to search for
wisdom in the depths of literature. Beatty spurs Montag to delve into the world of literature. He
dares the man to defy him in an almost mocking tone such as here: We d certainly miss you if
you didn t show. (60) Here he implies that if Montag does not show up to burn his book, it will
not be good news for him. Beatty is a strict man always following and enforcing the rules, seldom
deviating from them, and is a man of his word. He knows Montag is hiding something, which he
intuitively guesses is a book, and he promises indirectly that he will be back to burn down the
man s house if he does not bring it in within twenty four hours. Afraid of losing his one chance of
learning, he frantically vows to try to memorize a part of the Bible he stole from the woman who
committed suicide. The mere suggestion of the fire captain

Mihai Pacepa Impact On American Culture
Mihai Pacepa was not the sole Romanian to defect to the West and criticize the Ceausescu
regime from abroad. There were many such dissidents, a good example of which is the case of
Monica Loviinescu who, according to Pacepa, criticized with bitter sarcasm Ceausescu s attempts
to subordinate Romanian literature to his own ends...infuriated the Romanian leader that it was
he himself who gave the orders for her to be silenced (Deletant, Pgs. 328 329). These sorts of
operations were carried out by Pacepa s DIE, a branch of the Romanian intelligence service, which
later became the CIE after he defected. The willingness of these intelligence agencies to go after
dissidents abroad, not to mention in western states, is a testament to how far they were... Show more

The question this raises in mind is, if the CIE was willing to go that far to silence so many
critics of the regime abroad, what weren t they willing to do to opponents at home? The answer,
as can be seen in Ursu s case, is nothing . It s no surprise that Romanians feared this organization.
However, these operations, in combination with the film, QED, are also revealing of the agency s
weakness in the last years of the regime. Briefly, QED is a film revolving around several
characters, a mathematician named Sorin, his friend and colleague who is moving abroad named
Elena, and finally Alexander Spiridon, the Securitate agent monitoring Sorin. QED demonstrates
that in the last years of its operation, the Securitate was a shadow of its former ideological self.

Characteristics Of Successful Business Leader
There is no perfect skill set for a successful business owner and the cookie cutter approach some
people take is wrong. Businesses vary, and as a result, the skills needed to own and run them vary
also. With that, there are some general traits that successful business leader should have.
1. Optimism:
You must be an optimist because, at some point, you have to see beyond the hard times to see the
better times. Optimism and confidence tend to go together. You, as the businessowner, must be able
to make it through the tough times because you have hope on getting better.
2. Able To Sacrifice:
Being in the bottom spot on the totem pole is something that you are going to encounter as owner.
Your business takes precedence over just ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most people start a business for self employment as they can t get along with their boss.
5. Common Sense:
As a successful business leader, you need to have the ability to anticipate problems and take steps
to prevent them. Successful businesses look to outsiders like there are rarely any problems. What
they don t see is a business owner that is keeping his/her finger on the pulse of the business and the
industry. When they anticipate changes coming, they take steps to prepare their business in case it
comes about. That preparation and willingness to change can make the difference between success
and failure. Done well and it s just about invisible to anyone except the business owner.
6. Be Organized:
Being organized is a major problem to most of the business leaders. In case you can not handle
various things at the same time, then you shouldn t go into business for yourself. There is NEVER
just one thing going on when you own business. There are customer problems; there are vendor
/supplier problems, and there are competition problems. As a business owner, you have to be able
to quickly know and understand which problems need attention first. You have to be able to
prioritize your problems and know that those same priorities may change on a moments notice.
7. Be a Leader:
People, especially your employees will always be looking to you for answers. Answers about your
products, your market, your competition and just about everything else. As the

Historic Treaties And Its Effects On The Peoples Of This...
INSERT SOMETHING ABOUT SOCIOLOGY PAPER. Historic treaties continue to be relevant in
Canada today because ever since Christopher Columbus arrived to an undiscovered continent, he
managed to employ detrimental consequences to the peoples of this land. The treaty was one of the
colonial processes that would allow for the exploitation of the First Nations. Many Aboriginal
Signatories to treaties understood the treatyagreements as being the foundation of a relationship
with the Crown and that this relationship would be based on co existence versus the crown,
creating them as a surrendering of the land with only small reserve retained, and limited hunting in
those territories. These treaties are important today because they try to go about who has land
claim to a certain area and they show that some treaties were compiled by the British with the
poorer intentions of the Aboriginals. However, the documents and treaties that the British drafted
and passed, would create a paper trail of vast amounts of exploitation. Treaties show prevalence
today because they can demonstrate how convoluted the history of Canada s relationships with the
Aboriginal peoples is. One factor that makes this history perplexing is trying to fathom who has
claim to the lands that people stand on. Moreover, when the government was willing to substantiate
what scheme they wanted to employ in order to solve the issue of cohabitation of the aboriginal
peoples. Historically, in the fur trader era, it was

Changes in Marlin in Finding Nemo Essay
Finding Nemo...The Independence He Deserves
Through much thought and contemplating, one character that I thought made significant changes
throughout the movie is Marlin. Now Marlin is a clownfish from the movie Finding Nemo.
Marlin makes several changes throughout the movie based solely on the problems that he is
faced with and the way that he chooses to handle them. He is faced with four major problems and
the choices that he makes to react to those problems changes his entire view on life. He is face
with the loss of a majority of his family, confrontation with death, and finally he finds what he truly
wants in life.
Marlin is a clownfish who, along with his wife, lives on the edge of a coral reef in an anemone. He

There is where Marlin s real adventure begins.
On his pursuit he meets a blue fish named Dori, who has a memory problem. She undoubtedly is
annoying to Marlin and he gets very impatient with her when she continues to repeat herself.
Against his better judgment he agrees to let her help him find his lost son. For the next few days,
as the movie goes, they have several encounters with other marine wildlife that according to Marlin
are dangerous. First they encounter three sharks which are known to be solely meat eaters but they
join the sharks and spend some time with them that show them that not all sharks are that way but
some feel that fish should be thought of as friends, not food as the sharks like to say. With this
knowledge he begins to trust more of the other sea creatures that he did before.
His next encounter involves a school of jellyfish which descend down upon them while they are
going over a gorge. Trying to save Dori from any injury, knowing that he isn t going to be hurt
nearly as bad from their stingers, he plays a game with Dori. The game is that they race to see
whichever fish can get thought the jellyfish first without touching the tentacles and only touching
the tops or heads of the jellyfish. But when Dori gets caught in the tentacles of several jellyfish he
risks his own life to save her and carry her body through the rest of the school. This is something
that he wouldn t have even

Iraq War Vs Gulf War
When we think of the wars that have happened in the United States. I can only think of one that
got stuck in my mind. I can remember practicing for bomb threats. I think I was in Kindergarten at
that time. The Gulf War started in 1990 and ended in late 1991. Within this time frame, we saw
many articles on the war. We are going to be learning how it started to the end of the war.
On July 17th, 1990, is when Iraqi accused Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates of taking over

The Generation Of The World Essay
This distinction allows Athanasius to argue that the Arians had confused the ideas of offspring
with creature and the verbs to beget with to create. What becomes apparent from the above
Athanasian text is that the decisive factor which defines the distinction between offspring and
creature is the person of the Father and his role in the generation of the Son and the creation of
the world. Athanasius task becomes proving that the Father is portrayed in the Bible as
personally involved in the generation of the Son as opposed to the creatures who exist outside
of him. In this effort he turns to Psalms and examines three texts: Psalm 2:7 ( The Lord said to
me, My son you are; today I have begotten you ), Psalm 44:2 ( My heart spoke a good word ), and
Psalm 109:3 ( From the womb, before Morning star, I brought you forth ) and synthesizes them
with verses speaking of the Father s direct relation to the Son (Matt. 3:17; John 8:42; 6:46).
Matt. 3:17, 17:5
The Father s personal relationship with the Son is perhaps nowhere more evident than in the
baptism and transfiguration (Mat. 3:17, 17:5; Mark 1:11, 9:7; Luke 3:22, 9:35). Traditionally
interpreted along Trinitarian terms Athanasius makes use of this voluntary declaration of the Father
with the Son as describing Jesus natural sonship. By focusing on the Father s initiative as an
unprecedented occurrence he argues that if the generation of the Son did not differ essentially from
the creation of other beings and he were

How Does Temperature Affect The Rate Of Reaction Experiment
From the results that were collect throughout the experimental investigation has proved the
hypothesis to only be partially right. Multiple tests were made when conducting the experiment,
two clear solutions were combined at various temperatures and concentrations. The hypothesis
states that by adjusting the concentration of the reactants will cause the reaction to either speed up
at a higher concentration or slow down at a lower concentration. In the reaction temperature
should have a similar effect on the experiment, in that increasing the temperature will cause an
increase of particle movement and cause more collision, thus increasing the reaction rate.
Therefore decreasing the temperature will decrease the rate of the reaction. From the results
given in Tables 2 and 3 it shown that every time the concentration is halved the time is increased.
When the concentrations of both KIO3 and NaHSO3 are decreased the time has increased, some
concentrations having a higher increase than others. In each concentration decrease the time is at
least doubled from the previous concentration time, which is therefore increasing the rate of the
reaction. Although unlike the change in concentration, when the temperature of the reactants
were either increased or decreased their was no significant change. As shown in table 4. When
the temperature was either increased or decreased to 10В°C, 30В°C, 40В°C and 50В°C the
average times are all within one second of each other. Except for when the reactants were cooled
to a further 5В°C the reaction time was increased by more than double the reaction time. This
showing that the results from the investigation did not fully support the stated hypothesis. The
standard rate law for the Iodine Clock reaction, is a first order reaction for KIO3 and a second
order reaction for NaHSO3. To determine this you must substitute the values into the equations and
whichever produces a straight line graph determines whether it is a first or second order reaction.
In graph 1. It shows that KIO3 is a second order reaction, this is due to the second order reaction
graph being straighter than the first order graph. This meaning the reaction proceeds at a rate
proportional to the square of the concentration,

Joseph as well as Esther, Mordecai, and Daniel all rose to a position of power in a foreign

all of the other women who wanted to be Queen. Daniel also was the favorite of King Baltassar.

Project: Making of Eco friendly Flowers through Recycling of Disposable Plastic Cups
Essay
In line with the current trends of climate change, there is great need to protect the environment we
live in. Some of the actions we take towards environmental protection may have a plan to safeguard
the environment whereas others might do so automatically even if our intentions were to achieve
something else. What does this mean? The answer is simple; some of the projects we embark on
follow the concept of Collins and Scott, where nature participates in its evolution without our direct
intervention. In my project, I intend to make decorative flowers from disposable plastic cups, which

that the labor will be cheap and the equipments needed for successful execution will just be
ordinary tools found around our houses. The jobless, younger generation will form part of my
working team and together, I believe we will be able to collect huge piles of plastic cups from
household solid wastes and make a considerable number of decorative flowers for sale. While
carrying out the project, I look forward to liaise with other concerned individuals, groups, or
organizations that will facilitate its growth and ensure that any good objective, planned or
unplanned for the project, is attainable at the end of the day. For example, I will expect to work
with environmental movements and groups that will ensure segregation of the plastics takes place
from other wastes and availed accordingly at my working station. According to Rich (120), waste
segregation is an important element of waste management and the management of plastic wastes is
a very difficult process considering the fact that plastics do not decompose like the biodegradable
wastes. In addition, I will anticipate working with persons from other fields such as entrepreneurs,

There have been 0 recorded deaths caused by smoking marijuana. Even though smoking marijuana
cannot kill a person, a common argument is that smoking cannabis can cause cancer. But in a study
done by Donald Tashkin at the UCLA School of Medicine, he showed that people who smoke
marijuana are at less risk of developing lung cancer than tobacco smokers. In fact, he concluded
that people who smoke marijuana are just as likely to get lung head or neck cancer as those who
do not smoke anything at all. In a study done by the Wisconsin University of Medicine and Public
Health in 2008, investigators found that cannabinoids (chemical compounds found in marijuana)
stopped the spread of brain cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, skin cancer,
pancreatic cancer, and lymphoma. A method to eliminate the harm caused to a person s lungs

Don Quixote And Miguel Cervantes s An Essay On Man
While studying Nazi war criminals in the World War II, Hannah Arendt discovered that Adolf
Eichmann, who was sentenced to death for devising egregious methods of massive Jews execution,
was in fact a passive receptor of authoritative orders from the Nazi regime. She proclaimed the
concept of banality of evil , noting that There are no dangerous thoughts; thinking in itself is
dangerous . Such fickle and even potentially dangerous orientation of humanity is well
demonstrated in An Essay on Man, where Alexander Pope illustrates the constantly errant and
confused nature of human. Similarly, in Miguel Cervantes s Don Quixote, the foolish protagonist

Heavy Metal Assessment Of Cosmetic Products Essay
Heavy metal assessment of some cosmetic products by ICP/OES
Abstract:
It has been shown that heavy metals toxicity to humans is as a result of long term or high level
exposure to pollutants common in the environment including the air, water, food and numerous
consumer products such as the cosmetics and toiletries. Cosmetics are seen as one of the most
important sources of releasing heavy metals into the environment and the human biological
system. Thus Cosmetic products must not be harmful under normal or foreseeable conditions of
use. Four different samples of cosmetics (Foundation, Kohl, Blusher, and Lipstick) were
analyzed in Al Madina SAES laboratory for water and food analysis to determine the levels of
heavy metals (As, Pb, Zn, Hg, and Cu) in the products. Concentrations of the selected heavy metals

The Theory Of Principles For Financial Theory
Karl Gunnar Myrdal was an economist who belongs to Swedish and lived during the year 1988
till 1987. He contributed towards the theory of markets, economic fluctuation and a very efficient
use of the limited resources and got the Nobel Prize for his theories presented. The theory of
principles for Financial Theory profile sets out the principles that the Accounting Standards Board
considers should bring about the research and demonstration of general purpose financial theories
in the field of economics. The basic purpose of articulating such principles is to provide a rational
frame of reference to be used by the Board for the improvement and evaluation of accounting
standards in economics and by others who act together with the Board through the standard setting
procedure. Such a frame of orientation should explain the conceptual foundation of projected
accounting standards and should enable standards to be developed on a steady basis by
decreasing the need to discuss fundamental issues each time a standard is reviewed or established
(Qiyan Wua, 2014). The economic theory is being published because of the knowledge of the
principles should help the users and the preparers of the theories, as well including auditors and
others, to appreciate the Board s line of attack to formulating accounting principles and the nature of
the information mentioned in the general purpose financial theories. Economic theories are a very
valuable tool in analyzing the company s economical

What Freedom Means To Me As An American Citizen
According to the Scott, Foresman Advanced Dictionary, freedom means having the power to do,
say, or think as one pleases. To me, freedom means being able to show emotion in public. With
freedom, I can feel safe, confident and secure in my country. To me, freedom also means having a
voice and letting it be heard. With freedom, I get to make my own decisions and choices. I am
lucky as an American citizen to have freedom and rights, but some countries aren t as lucky as we
are. Some are still stuck under dictatorships. To me, freedom means having rights. Americans are
lucky that we have the Bill of Rights. The Bill of RIghts are the first ten amendments to the US
Constitution. One amendment from the Bill of Rights is, Congress shall make no

El Dorado In The Film The Invention Of Lying
Virtues are the core characteristics valued by moral philosophers and religious thinkers: wisdom,
courage, humanity, justice, temperance, and transcendence. (Peterson 13) An exaggerated
example demonstrating virtue would be a nun who has never lied, cheated, or stolen at any point
in her life. El Dorado is a Utopian society with no crime or need for government outside of a king,
although the king simply acts like everyone else s equal. The concepts of El Dorado and virtue
practically go hand in hand. El Dorado not only suggests the idea that humans are capable of
virtue, but thrives on the idea. In order for El Dorado to not have a government besides a leader,
the citizens would have to trust that everyone in the city will remain virtuous.
In order for someone to imagine anything close to that of El Dorado, one would have to imagine a
world such as that in the movie The Invention of Lying . Everyone just tells the truth no matter
how stupid or scary it may seem, and everyone trusts that the other person is doing the same.
(Huggo) A majority of people anymore would consider it a very scary thought to have to trust that
everyone will just do the right thing. People s distrust in others could be a result of many factors,
the more prominent constants being that too many people prove to each other that they are
dishonest and disloyal, two characteristics ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Reflections On Gender On Science
Science is the truth. It is unwavering and absolute. As a result, it is objective and free of
imperfection. As such, Steven Weinburg, a theoretical physicist, once stated, The laws of nature are
as impersonal and free of human values as the rules of arithmetic. We didn t want it to come out that
way, but it did. Weinburg explains that science, like arithmetic is ultimately an objective discourse
free from subjectivity and emotion. However, in Evelyn Fox Keller s novel Reflections on Gender
on Science, she argues against science as being an objectivist ideology. She asserts that science does
not encompass the complete truth, but is rather a perverted, masculine discourse. Keller critiques
Weinburg s assertions as faulty, where she argues... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She argues that white, middle class men have pioneered the field of science since its inception.
Since science has been championed exclusively by this particular party, science discounts
aspects from other groups, especially females. In doing so, science is exposed a misguided
subjective ideology that casts the feminine perspective in particular to the wayside. In addition,
this narrow, one sided mindset lacks the ideas from those who are nonwhite and not middle class.
Keller s argument regarding science being an objectivist discourse is a double edged sword. In her
attempts to critique the whole population of white, middle class men, she ultimately generalizes
them. In her arguments, she makes a sweeping assumption that science is a white supremacist,
capitalistic, and male dominated discourse. Her generalizations from which her argumentation is
based off is flawed. The basis of her arguments is coded in sexism, classism, and racism. Keller s
entire claim revolves around how science being dominated by middle class white men is
unacceptable. Her claim that science has evolved under the formative influence of a particular ideal
of masculinity insinuates that science heavily favors white, middle class men and disregards
everyone else. Her assertion of underrepresentation presupposes that these white, middle class men
regard only themselves and fail to represent the rest of the population. This baseless claim paints

A Necessary Condition For The Storage Of Information
A necessary condition for the storage of information in the computer s memory is the ability to
transform this very information in the appropriate form for your computer. In the event that this
condition is satisfied, it is necessary to determine the structure, it is suitable for information is

refers to the way the information by which the aggregate of individual elements form a unity,

And I want to tell you that we have indeed have come along way, but that s not to say that there isn

time, you remember that it was a black man named Simon the Cyrenian, who carried the cross for
Christ. And then we as a people, were brought to America and we carried the cross of slavery, and
then after slavery was abolished, we carried the cross of prejudice and segregation, and believe it or
not, we are still carrying that cross today. However all is not gloom and doom, all is not lost,
because you see my brothers and sisters, we are one of the few people who realize that GREATER

So yes I m proud to be an African Americanbecause one day a black woman riding a bus was tired

The Ugly Truth About Beauty by Dave Barry is a humorous essay, which uses techniques like
satire including exaggeration, that gives the reader a funny yet accurate portrayal of women and
their beauty standards compared to standards set for men. Barry uses satire, humor to criticize the
faults of others, to connect with his audience. Although Barry loves to make funny points
throughout his essay he constantly weaves in serious facts and examples of this issue. Barry will
make a valid point then immediately follow it up with exaggeration. His use of satire in the essay

Saad Alshammari 17th April 2016 How the internet has revolutionized logistics management at
Red Cross I.Introduction a)Thesis The International Red Cross is a human endeavor that is held in
high regard and highly admired. It can be credited to saving millions of lives from all parts of the
world by providing relief and aid to those that need it. Since its inception it has grown to a large
humanitarian organization that requires heavy management. It is therefore crucial for the
organization to have an efficient logistic system that is able to handle all these if it is to provide its
assistance to the individuals that need it the most. To achieve this, the Red Cross has adopted any
means and tool available, one being internet technology. The internet and its growth is an
unquestioned significant phenomenon. It has not only changed the way information is made
available and may be used but has been a recent platform for the exchange of goods and services.
This paper attempts to show that internet technology has made fundamental changes in the logistics
management of companies. The paper will look at logistics management in Red Cross and how
internet technologies have changed or modified it. The paper will look at different aspects which
will include fundraising, volunteerism, social media as well as other material handling operations.

China Economy
CHINA
AN ECONOMIC OVERVIEW
The rapid rise of China as a major economic power within a time span of about three decades is
often described by analysts as one of the greatest economic success stories in modern times. From
1979 (when economic reforms began) to 2011, China s real gross domestic product (GDP) grew at
an average annual rate of nearly 10%. From 1980 to 2011, real GDP grew 19 fold in real terms,
real per capita GDP increased 14 fold, and an estimated 500 million people were raised out of
extreme poverty. China is now the world s second largest economy and some analysts predict it
could become the largest within a few years. Yet, on a per capita basis, China remains a relatively
poor country. China s economic rise has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To support rapid industrialization, the central government undertook large scale investments in
physical and human capital during the 1960s and 1970s. As a result, by 1978 nearly three fourths
of industrial production was produced by centrally controlled, state owned enterprises (SOEs),
according to centrally planned output targets. Private enterprises and foreign invested firms were
generally barred. A central goal of the Chinese government was to make China s economy relatively
self sufficient. Foreign trade was generally limited to obtaining only those goods that could not be
made or obtained in China. Government policies kept the Chinese economy relatively stagnant and
inefficient, mainly because most aspects of the economy were managed and run by the central
government (and thus there were few profit incentives for firms, workers, and farmers), competition
was virtually nonexistent, foreign trade and investment flows were mainly limited to Soviet bloc
countries, and price and production controls caused widespread distortions in the economy. Chinese
living standards were substantially lower than those of many other developing countries. The
Chinese government in 1978 (shortly after the death of Chairman Mao in 1976) decided to break
with its Soviet style economic policies by gradually reforming the economy according to free
market principles and opening up trade and investment with the West, in the hope that this would
significantly increase economic growth and raise

Management by exception is a strict structured way of leading as these are the kind of leaders

Patriarchy Of Ancient Indian Women
In Ancient India, much like many other ancient civilizations, women were dominated by men. In
these patriarchal societies, women served only to please and obey her husband. Men were viewed
as heros, with intelligence and strength, while their wives value was simply due to their beauty.
The Ramayana, which was written in this patriarchal era, exemplifies these beliefs. It achieves this
by blaming females for the unfortunate events that take place throughout the story. This Hindu
story was written around 500 BC by one of the first well known poets, Valmiki. This epic poem is
written in the ancient language of Sanskrit and explores human values. Because of its lasting
impact, it provides an example in the duties of relationships, and how Hindu s must be the most

The Tell Tale Heart By Edgar Allen Poe
There is no genius without some touch of madness. (Aristotle) However, when it is fueled by
constant denial, madness can suddenly turn into a force that completely controls us. The Tell Tale
Heart , a short story by Edgar Allen Poe, explores the effects of madness on an individual s
character and actions through the narrator and his attempt to convince the reader and himself of his
sanity. The story follows his struggles in constantly denying his madness, rather than accepting
what he is. As the short storyprogresses, it becomes evident that even a touch of madness can go
on to overtake our thoughts and actions especially if we cannot accept it as an essential part of
us. An individual s ability to accept and face madness is directly related to their personal sense of
acknowledgement and their self awareness that is associated with that. The narrator confesses that
the sole reason for killing the old man is his eye. Whenever it fell upon me, my blood ran cold; and
so by degrees very gradually I made up my mind to rid myself of the eye for ever. The narrator
begins his tale of madness by trying to convince the reader he is not insane, but the reader quickly
speculates that the narrator indeed is out of control. The fact that the old man s eye is the only
motivation to murder him proves the narrator is so mentally unstable that he must search for
justification to kill. In his mind, he rationalizes murder with his own unreasonable fear of the eye.

Burgermeister s Daughter Essay
Burgermeister s Daughter
What was the predominant image of women and women s place in medieval society? Actual
historical events, such as the scandal and subsequent litigation revolving around Anna Buschler
which Steven Ozment detail s in the Burgermeisters Daughter, suggests something off a
compromise between these two literary extremes. It is easy to say that life in the sixteenth century
was surely no utopia for women but at least they had some rights.
Anna was the daughter of Hermann Buschler, a prominent citizen who had even been the
burgermeister of the German town of Schwabisch Hall, within the Holy Roman Empire. When she
was young, Anna had simultaneous affairs with a young local nobleman, Erasmus Schenk of
Limpurg, and a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anna s story shows that women did have some rights, and that they also had, at least in this case,
the ability to defend those rights within legal institutions. Even more important is evidence of
public opinion, instead of siding against Anna as an unfit daughter causing trouble for her family
Hall s citizens actually sided with Anna against her father. In this, both daughter s obedience to
father and woman s obedience to man were turned on their heads, revealing that regardless of
religious doctrines of male authority, life among the people was much more complex.
While not a complete victory for Anna, the battle for her inheritance was not a complete loss
either. She capably fought her father and even the entire city council of Hall. This was no easy
task because she couldn t represent herself in court. It was one of the first times where the moral
code of Germany was overturned. She contested her father and went against the respect you re

Autoimmune Deficiencies Of Autoimmune Deficiency
Autoimmune Deficiencies are very complex and misunderstood diseases in the world today.
Most people are uneducated and unaware of what these diseases actually are and the trials
people diagnosed with these illnesses face. Due to their lack of education there is also a lack of
compassion shown; causing an awkward, silent tension between people. Lupus is a subcategory of
the Autoimmune Deficiencies. Those with this tend to be silent about their struggle, causing it to
be unnoticed in the world. However, there have been efforts made medically to give these people
a true voice. In order to give them a voice people must know what Lupus actually is, the causes and
symptoms of it, and new research that can help improve the quality of life for those who have the
disease. Autoimmune Deficiency is a medical term used that means that a person s immune system
literally attacks and eats their issue. Their body does not know how to properly indicate the
difference between healthy and unhealthy tissue so they produce antibodies that completely eat
both sets of tissue. Lupus performs the same function in a person s body, but it is a very hard
disease to actually diagnose because it can mimic various other diseases. It goes by the scientific
name Systemic lupus erythematosus, with the common name Lupus being used in everyday terms.
This illness is one of chronic pain that can affect the body both inwardly and outwardly. Inwardly,
the body `s immune system eats the issue and can

The Death of Julius Caesar, a Great Leader
Julius Caesar was a great leader of Rome. Not only did he lead a very strong army, but his people
also loved him. The debate is always should he have been killed or should he have lived and lead us
to more victories.
The first document that was used in the debate is a primary source. It s called De Vita Caesarum,
Divus Iulius. The document is a biography of Julius Caesar and his life. Suetonius wrote the
biography. Suetonius was a roman historian who wrote about the Roman Empire. It was written in
110 CE. It was written to show the side of the senators, and how they felt about having emperors.
It is trustworthy because Suetonius used eyewitnesses and other evidence from books to
provide a lot of information about Caesar. The only thing that I think is missing is the side of
Caesar because he wrote it from the perspective of the senators view. Which puts Caesar in a bad
light because the senators did not like Caesar. Considering that the article was written based off
of the senators, it put Caesar in a bad light. Meaning that this author did not want Caesar to live.
Another document that was used was a secondary source. It was an article written in the
Britannica Student Encyclopedia. It was written for the public to read and understand Julius
Caesar. It was used to give a brief overview of Julius Caesar s life. It talked about him as a person,
the civil war that he was involved with, the march he lead, as well as his reputation. The article is
moderately trustworthy

The Importance Of Clean Drinking Water In India
One of the biggest challenges facing the world today is the emphasis on providing clean water to
everyone throughout the world. This is a fairly easy task in wealthier countries with strong central
governments which establish regulations on how waterways are maintained and treated, however
in developing countries like India the task is insurmountable. With India s population soon to
surpass China by 2022 , there is a huge concern in the lack of clean drinking waterfor many of their
citizens (Riley, 2015). If India s population is going to continue to rise at the rates it is experiencing
today, the government must create more initiatives to alter the poor hygienepractices by its citizens,
to ensure everyone has access to clean drinking water. One of the biggest problems facing India s
access to clean water is the practice of improper hygiene, which is seen from the astronomical
amount of people that presently practice open defecationor someone defecating outside in the open.
The practice stems from early human civilization, but without much emphasis on the problem over
the past century, it has continued to rise with India s rising population. In India, a staggering 522
million of their citizens practice open defecation (India, n.d.). This is an extreme cause for concern
in a country that has such a dense population due to its population size compared to the countries
overall size. What this entails is that even if the amount of people who practice open defecation

The Truth Of The Bible
Question 9 I believe the time isn t relevant as far as wear I will spend eternity, four there s two
ways of that can happen. First of all, nobody is immune to die at any point in time for went is
your time to go you have no control over it. Second of all, Jesus can come anytime. Therefore, if
either of these events happens, eternity awaits. Are used to think that the younger you are the least
you need to worry about these two events happening. On the contrary, the acknowledgment that
Jesus is the only way and the one hole redeemed us is now, not later, not when you feel like it, the
time is now.
Question 10 I believe that the main source of truth is the Bible. On the other hand, God is an infinite
God, and if he chooses any other means for you to find truth, you will find it, weather if it is
through dreams or through other Scriptures. However, God can choose to reveal himself outside of
Christianity. I have heard that throughout the Muslim faith several have come to know Jesus
through their own scripture, the Quran. In addition, others have begun to believe in Jesus through
dreams. Perhaps, God can choose any means to reveal himself. I do not know why there are so
many different religions; perhaps, this is what makes us different from each other. Not everybody
thinks the same way. I also believe that there is an accuser who hates humankind and doesn t want
humanity to see clear, that the more confused we are the better it is. Epistemology is the hypothesis

To Kill A Mockingbird Departure From Childhood Analysis
Childhood Flies When Time Passes By Theme: Departure from Childhood Much like youth, a
mockingbird is pure. It sings and spreads joy, but like everything in society, everything even all that
is beautiful, must die. Written by Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird is a novel that captures the
conditions and hardships of the American South during the early twentieth century. It particularly
describes the childhood of two children, Jem and Scout Finch. As a concept that interwines itself
into the progression of the story, the departure from childhood acts as the ultimate theme in the tale.
Over the course of three years, Jem and Scout develop the characteristics of man and woman,
gaining wisdom, and facing the violence and discrimination in Southern society conclusively...

The departure from childhood is evident by the children fostering the manners and
characteristics of adults. This is demonstrated by Scout striving to become more feminine. When
Scout joins the missionary circle organized by Aunt Alexandra, she is confronted with her desire
to become a lawyer. In reply, she says: Nome, [I] just [want to be] a lady. (Lee 308) As an
adamant character, Scout would not disregard her aspiration to study law unless she has greater
ambitions to pursue. Prioritizing her femininity indicates Scout s increasing interest for her gender.
Moreover, she decides to join in social activities with women, associating herself with females
rather than her male friends, Jem and Dill. Apart from her newfound femininity, Scout exhibits
growing maturity. Upon ushering Boo Radley home after Bob Ewell s homicide, she wondered
how many times Dill [herself, and Jem] had stood [at the street light]... watching [in fear]... [of]
the Radley front gate, [which she has entered] for the second time in [her] life. (373) Scout finally

Disadvantages of Implementing HTTPS
Cost There is an extra cost to obtain SSL Certificate, and hidden one s are administrative cost for
applying and renewal every year.
Slower HTTPS is somewhat slower in comparison with HTTP. It adds calculation overhead and
network overhead.
HTTPS cannot stop stealing personal information from the webpage s cache on the browser.
Because, SSL only translate data in coding, during transmission while in network, it is clear text in
the browser memory. HTTPS server can only offer one virtual host behind a single socket, whereas
HTTP provide multiple socket.
How would HTTPS will protect you using a public Wi Fi connection at a local coffee shop?
It is made to deliver us sheltered connection all over the place where ever people access protected
websites, still there is constantly a danger of using HTTPS over the public Wi Fi nets. Sometimes
MITM (Man in the Middle Attack) trap the public Wi Fi net. With MITM attacks, it pushes web

Autonomy Against Spain
In Negotiating Spain and Catalonia: Competing Narratives of National Identity, author Fernando
Leon Solis examines the various motivational factors for Catalonia s push for autonomy within
Spain. The author makes a compelling case as to how and why Catalonia is attempting to gain
autonomy. Solis believes that the main motivation for Catalonian autonomy is the conflict over the
definition of Catalan identity, which, Catalans believe, can only fully be established under regional
autonomy. Solis argues that if the Catalan National political party, Convergencia I Unio, can come
to an agreement with the majority party in parliament, Partido Popular, then Cataloniamay receive
regional autonomy. Additionally, Solis believes that the Catalans are not seeking national
independence, but rather they wish for a high level of autonomy within Spain. It is important to...

Solis relies on journals, such as those found in La Vanguardia, to examine the positions of different
political currents. However, Solis s main flaw in his argument is that he does not provide readers
with enough information on the Spanish government structure. When addressing the importance of
the 2000 election, Solis mentions how the Partido Popular chose to form a coalition with
Convergencia I Unio, even though they did not have to form such a government in order to form a
majority in parliament. Without a working knowledge of how a coalition government works, why it
is formed and how it is beneficial, the average reader may not be able to fully grasp the importance
of the 2000 election. However, this is only a minor weakness. Ultimately, Solis is highly successful
in laying out a convincing argument and demonstrating why Catalonian people, who have a strong
attachment to their cultural identity, wish to gain autonomy within

Analysis Of `` Peace `` By Rupert Brooke
Rupert Brooke, in his poem Peace addresses the value and honor of fighting in war. Brooke
hopes to inform readers that war is a gift and that those who are able to fight should do so
willingly, with great pride and honor. He adopts a passionate and serious tone in order to appeal to
the feelings and experiences in his intended audience of young English males. Brooke challenges
his intended audience by combatting their pessimistic beliefs of war. Brooke s sonnet Peace was
written during an era of war. Different views and opinions about the war arose creating opposing
ideas. Rupert Brooketakes an unpopular approach to the ideas and logistics of war, explaining
that war is a solution and not a problem like most think. This sonnet celebrates what Brooke
feels is his generation s great fortune to be born to fight in the First World War. He argues that it
is a joy to be young and fit and able to fight for good in a world full of corrupt, cowardly men. He
declares that the war has given the young a sense of freedom, and that to die in battle is a blessing
to the proud and patriotic. Because young men posses the most suitable and efficient bodies and
minds fit for war, they are Brooke s intended audience. Brooke aims to target young malereaders
who are unaware or opposed to the benefits of fighting for their country. Young males prove to be
the most valuable soldiers mentally because of their obedience and capacity for following and
obeying orders. He speaks with

The Power Of The Athenian Constitution
The general public did not create, We, the people , but by 50 or so white men who owned
property. The Athenian democracy followed a similar rule; to be on the Athenian senate, one had
to be a male who owned property and was not a slave. This trend has been seen throughout the
western world in establishing democracies; the hegemonic power controls the laws of the state. But
now, with technology, we are able to empower the disenfranchised and have a more equal
representation. And with more holistic and comprehensive laws due to having a more equal
representation of the people, which may create less corruption.
The more a government appears to be transparent, the more legitimate they seem to their citizens.
Having a more transparent government, according to Rose Ackerman, should reduce corruption.
Technology is becoming a commonplace tool to create transparency within the government.
Governments are starting to use Crowd sourcing as a technological tool to increase transparency.
Crowd sourcing may become the trend of the future to fight corruption within the United States
and abroad. Crowd sourcing as defined by the Merriam Webster Dictonary as the practice of
obtaining needed services, ideas, or content by soliciting contributions from a large group of people
and especially from the online community rather than from traditional employees or suppliers.
People have been using crowd sourcing in the private and non profit sector. Famous examples of

Flags Of Our Fathers Summary
For my third outside reading project of the year, I chose to read Flags of our Fathers by James
Bradley. Bradley s book fascinated me as it shifted from a soldier s pre war everyday life to their
experiences with Iwo Jima and WWII. Throughout his story, the third person point of view gave
a unique opportunity to set the historical context of a war imprinted into nearly everyone on this
planet s history. The authors use of chapters was ingenious as the choice gave him an ability to
show phases throughout the war torn era whether it was in as a young American man looking
for a purpose, the naive young soldier etching for a fight, or the experienced vet on his way
home from a traumatic world war. The story starts as giving some much needed historical
context, explains his connection and motivation behind the book. He says, six boys called to
me from half a century ago... and later explains One of those flag raisers was my father . That
motivation for writing this book is seen throughout as you can tell he has a passion for it, he s not
just a writer writing for a publisher. He s an American writing about his father s story of when he
was called on to protect his country. He introduces characters in more detail in chapter four where
the real story begins.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

shows how Americans felt their patriotic duty to fight, while also showing how citizens were
forced to drop everything as all out war erupted across the globe. He goes on telling the story of
their experiences and their war filled lives. The story touches on D day for four straight chapters as

  • 2. Examining The Factors That Influence Eyewitness Testimony Eyewitness testimony is the account of the witness of a certain event or incident. Throughout, the witness is enforced to provide their experience to the court in order to take legal action towards the incident. It is considered a very useful tool in courts. Yet, such a way to find out the truth is unreliable as many witnesses fail to contribute in a positive way to grant courts accurate data of the incident. This essay will be discussing the factors that influence eyewitness testimonyincluding age, weapon focus, stress, or the leading questions asked in court. When a witness perceives a complex event, a number of factors, such as the exposure time, or the salience of the event, or the witness s prior expectations, will affect the accuracy of what is perceived and stored in memory (Loftus, 1996). To Begin with, Loftus has explained how the duration between when the witness has to talk to the officials and the event can be such a crucial period. Humans usually forget rapidly after an event and time will make one forget more gradually. Moreover, one s memory isn t functioned in a way in which a video of events will stay in mind. A proof was made through Loftus experiment in 1975 where he showed the witnesses a film of a multiple car accident then added in the questionnaire having a stop sign where they all agreed that there was one. Yet, statistics have shown that not mentioning the object would cause only 35% to claim there was one considering the accident lasted 4 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Ray Bradbury s Fahrenheit 451 Have you ever stopped to wonder how modern technology has shaped our society, and where it will lead our future of social interaction? Have you ever been sitting and listening to the news, when you hear a new story on yet another book being banned for some petty reason, such as protection of children s innocence or offensive content ? Have you thought about where such things will take us and our changing, evolving definition of socializing? If you belong with those who contemplate things, who turn things over in their minds, who don t allow themselves to use ignorance as a shield from difficult, complex thinking, you may have answered yes . Knowledge, wisdom, and logical reasoning are important to today s society, but unfortunately,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Oh, to scratch that itch, eh? Well, Montag, take my word for it, I ve had to read a few in my time, to know what I was about, and the books say nothing! Nothing you can teach or believe. ... You come away lost. (Bradbury 59) He explains that the words in books do not seem to be of any value, and that reading them gives the reader not a speck of insight into any aspect of life. In this society, his words ring true for almost everyone, except those who managed to learn before the schools shut down and those who yearned to understand what books say. Furthermore, Beatty s attempts to force Montag into the mold of this society pushes the man to search for wisdom in the depths of literature. Beatty spurs Montag to delve into the world of literature. He dares the man to defy him in an almost mocking tone such as here: We d certainly miss you if you didn t show. (60) Here he implies that if Montag does not show up to burn his book, it will not be good news for him. Beatty is a strict man always following and enforcing the rules, seldom deviating from them, and is a man of his word. He knows Montag is hiding something, which he intuitively guesses is a book, and he promises indirectly that he will be back to burn down the man s house if he does not bring it in within twenty four hours. Afraid of losing his one chance of learning, he frantically vows to try to memorize a part of the Bible he stole from the woman who committed suicide. The mere suggestion of the fire captain ... • 4. Mihai Pacepa Impact On American Culture Mihai Pacepa was not the sole Romanian to defect to the West and criticize the Ceausescu regime from abroad. There were many such dissidents, a good example of which is the case of Monica Loviinescu who, according to Pacepa, criticized with bitter sarcasm Ceausescu s attempts to subordinate Romanian literature to his own ends...infuriated the Romanian leader that it was he himself who gave the orders for her to be silenced (Deletant, Pgs. 328 329). These sorts of operations were carried out by Pacepa s DIE, a branch of the Romanian intelligence service, which later became the CIE after he defected. The willingness of these intelligence agencies to go after dissidents abroad, not to mention in western states, is a testament to how far they were... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The question this raises in mind is, if the CIE was willing to go that far to silence so many critics of the regime abroad, what weren t they willing to do to opponents at home? The answer, as can be seen in Ursu s case, is nothing . It s no surprise that Romanians feared this organization. However, these operations, in combination with the film, QED, are also revealing of the agency s weakness in the last years of the regime. Briefly, QED is a film revolving around several characters, a mathematician named Sorin, his friend and colleague who is moving abroad named Elena, and finally Alexander Spiridon, the Securitate agent monitoring Sorin. QED demonstrates that in the last years of its operation, the Securitate was a shadow of its former ideological self. Deletant explains that Whilst not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Characteristics Of Successful Business Leader There is no perfect skill set for a successful business owner and the cookie cutter approach some people take is wrong. Businesses vary, and as a result, the skills needed to own and run them vary also. With that, there are some general traits that successful business leader should have. 1. Optimism: You must be an optimist because, at some point, you have to see beyond the hard times to see the better times. Optimism and confidence tend to go together. You, as the businessowner, must be able to make it through the tough times because you have hope on getting better. 2. Able To Sacrifice: Being in the bottom spot on the totem pole is something that you are going to encounter as owner. Your business takes precedence over just ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most people start a business for self employment as they can t get along with their boss. 5. Common Sense: As a successful business leader, you need to have the ability to anticipate problems and take steps to prevent them. Successful businesses look to outsiders like there are rarely any problems. What they don t see is a business owner that is keeping his/her finger on the pulse of the business and the industry. When they anticipate changes coming, they take steps to prepare their business in case it comes about. That preparation and willingness to change can make the difference between success and failure. Done well and it s just about invisible to anyone except the business owner. 6. Be Organized: Being organized is a major problem to most of the business leaders. In case you can not handle various things at the same time, then you shouldn t go into business for yourself. There is NEVER just one thing going on when you own business. There are customer problems; there are vendor /supplier problems, and there are competition problems. As a business owner, you have to be able to quickly know and understand which problems need attention first. You have to be able to prioritize your problems and know that those same priorities may change on a moments notice. 7. Be a Leader: People, especially your employees will always be looking to you for answers. Answers about your products, your market, your competition and just about everything else. As the ... • 7. Historic Treaties And Its Effects On The Peoples Of This... INSERT SOMETHING ABOUT SOCIOLOGY PAPER. Historic treaties continue to be relevant in Canada today because ever since Christopher Columbus arrived to an undiscovered continent, he managed to employ detrimental consequences to the peoples of this land. The treaty was one of the colonial processes that would allow for the exploitation of the First Nations. Many Aboriginal Signatories to treaties understood the treatyagreements as being the foundation of a relationship with the Crown and that this relationship would be based on co existence versus the crown, creating them as a surrendering of the land with only small reserve retained, and limited hunting in those territories. These treaties are important today because they try to go about who has land claim to a certain area and they show that some treaties were compiled by the British with the poorer intentions of the Aboriginals. However, the documents and treaties that the British drafted and passed, would create a paper trail of vast amounts of exploitation. Treaties show prevalence today because they can demonstrate how convoluted the history of Canada s relationships with the Aboriginal peoples is. One factor that makes this history perplexing is trying to fathom who has claim to the lands that people stand on. Moreover, when the government was willing to substantiate what scheme they wanted to employ in order to solve the issue of cohabitation of the aboriginal peoples. Historically, in the fur trader era, it was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He is faced with four major problems and the choices that he makes to react to those problems changes his entire view on life. On his pursuit he meets a blue fish named Dori, who has a memory problem. She undoubtedly is annoying to Marlin and he gets very impatient with her when she continues to repeat herself. Against his better judgment he agrees to let her help him find his lost son. For the next few days, as the movie goes, they have several encounters with other marine wildlife that according to Marlin are dangerous. First they encounter three sharks which are known to be solely meat eaters but they join the sharks and spend some time with them that show them that not all sharks are that way but some feel that fish should be thought of as friends, not food as the sharks like to say. With this knowledge he begins to trust more of the other sea creatures that he did before. His next encounter involves a school of jellyfish which descend down upon them while they are going over a gorge. Trying to save Dori from any injury, knowing that he isn t going to be hurt nearly as bad from their stingers, he plays a game with Dori. The game is that they race to see whichever fish can get thought the jellyfish first without touching the tentacles and only touching the tops or heads of the jellyfish. • 11. The Generation Of The World Essay This distinction allows Athanasius to argue that the Arians had confused the ideas of offspring with creature and the verbs to beget with to create. What becomes apparent from the above Athanasian text is that the decisive factor which defines the distinction between offspring and creature is the person of the Father and his role in the generation of the Son and the creation of the world. Athanasius task becomes proving that the Father is portrayed in the Bible as personally involved in the generation of the Son as opposed to the creatures who exist outside of him. In this effort he turns to Psalms and examines three texts: Psalm 2:7 ( The Lord said to me, My son you are; today I have begotten you ), Psalm 44:2 ( My heart spoke a good word ), and Psalm 109:3 ( From the womb, before Morning star, I brought you forth ) and synthesizes them with verses speaking of the Father s direct relation to the Son (Matt. 3:17; John 8:42; 6:46). Matt. 3:17, 17:5 The Father s personal relationship with the Son is perhaps nowhere more evident than in the baptism and transfiguration (Mat. 3:17, 17:5; Mark 1:11, 9:7; Luke 3:22, 9:35). Traditionally interpreted along Trinitarian terms Athanasius makes use of this voluntary declaration of the Father with the Son as describing Jesus natural sonship. By focusing on the Father s initiative as an unprecedented occurrence he argues that if the generation of the Son did not differ essentially from the creation of other beings and he were ... • 13. How Does Temperature Affect The Rate Of Reaction Experiment From the results that were collect throughout the experimental investigation has proved the hypothesis to only be partially right. Multiple tests were made when conducting the experiment, two clear solutions were combined at various temperatures and concentrations. The hypothesis states that by adjusting the concentration of the reactants will cause the reaction to either speed up at a higher concentration or slow down at a lower concentration. In the reaction temperature should have a similar effect on the experiment, in that increasing the temperature will cause an increase of particle movement and cause more collision, thus increasing the reaction rate. Therefore decreasing the temperature will decrease the rate of the reaction. From the results given in Tables 2 and 3 it shown that every time the concentration is halved the time is increased. When the concentrations of both KIO3 and NaHSO3 are decreased the time has increased, some concentrations having a higher increase than others. In each concentration decrease the time is at least doubled from the previous concentration time, which is therefore increasing the rate of the reaction. Although unlike the change in concentration, when the temperature of the reactants were either increased or decreased their was no significant change. As shown in table 4. When the temperature was either increased or decreased to 10В°C, 30В°C, 40В°C and 50В°C the average times are all within one second of each other. Except for when the reactants were cooled to a further 5В°C the reaction time was increased by more than double the reaction time. This showing that the results from the investigation did not fully support the stated hypothesis. The standard rate law for the Iodine Clock reaction, is a first order reaction for KIO3 and a second order reaction for NaHSO3. To determine this you must substitute the values into the equations and whichever produces a straight line graph determines whether it is a first or second order reaction. In graph 1. It shows that KIO3 is a second order reaction, this is due to the second order reaction graph being straighter than the first order graph. This meaning the reaction proceeds at a rate proportional to the square of the concentration, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mordecai and Daniel reminded me of Joseph because all three of them had dreams which could be interpreted as to what will happen in their future. Joseph as well as Esther, Mordecai, and Daniel all rose to a position of power in a foreign government. Joseph was his father Jacob s favorite son, just as Ahasuerus loved Esther more than all of the other women who wanted to be Queen. Daniel also was the favorite of King Baltassar. Some of the actions we take towards environmental protection may have a plan to safeguard the environment whereas others might do so automatically even if our intentions were to achieve something else. In fact, he concluded that people who smoke marijuana are just as likely to get lung head or neck cancer as those who do not smoke anything at all. In a study done by the Wisconsin University of Medicine and Public Health in 2008, investigators found that cannabinoids (chemical compounds found in marijuana) stopped the spread of brain cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, skin cancer, pancreatic cancer, and lymphoma. The concepts of El Dorado and virtue practically go hand in hand. El Dorado not only suggests the idea that humans are capable of virtue, but thrives on the idea. In order for El Dorado to not have a government besides a leader, the citizens would have to trust that everyone in the city will remain virtuous. In order for someone to imagine anything close to that of El Dorado, one would have to imagine a world such as that in the movie The Invention of Lying . As such, Steven Weinburg, a theoretical physicist, once stated, The laws of nature are as impersonal and free of human values as the rules of arithmetic. We didn t want it to come out that way, but it did. Weinburg explains that science, like arithmetic is ultimately an objective discourse free from subjectivity and emotion. Since science has been championed exclusively by this particular party, science discounts aspects from other groups, especially females. In addition, this narrow, one sided mindset lacks the ideas from those who are nonwhite and not middle class. Keller s argument regarding science being an objectivist discourse is a double edged sword. In her attempts to critique the whole population of white, middle class men, she ultimately generalizes them. In her arguments, she makes a sweeping assumption that science is a white supremacist, capitalistic, and male dominated discourse. Her generalizations from which her argumentation is based off is flawed. The basis of her arguments is coded in sexism, classism, and racism. Keller s entire claim revolves around how science being dominated by middle class white men is unacceptable. Her claim that science has evolved under the formative influence of a particular ideal of masculinity insinuates that science heavily favors white, middle class men and disregards everyone else. Her assertion of underrepresentation presupposes that these white, middle class men regard only themselves and fail to represent the rest of the population. This baseless claim paints ... Management by exception is a strict structured way of leading as these are the kind of leaders which focus on the role of supervision, organization and group performance. In these patriarchal societies, women served only to please and obey her husband. Men were viewed as heros, with intelligence and strength, while their wives value was simply due to their beauty. The Ramayana, which was written in this patriarchal era, exemplifies these beliefs. It achieves this by blaming females for the unfortunate events that take place throughout the story. This Hindu story was written around 500 BC by one of the first well known poets, Valmiki. This epic poem is written in the ancient language of Sanskrit and explores human values. Because of its lasting impact, it provides an example in the duties of relationships, and how Hindu s must be the most ideal father, brother, king, and wife. • 39. The Tell Tale Heart By Edgar Allen Poe There is no genius without some touch of madness. (Aristotle) However, when it is fueled by constant denial, madness can suddenly turn into a force that completely controls us. The Tell Tale Heart , a short story by Edgar Allen Poe, explores the effects of madness on an individual s character and actions through the narrator and his attempt to convince the reader and himself of his sanity. The story follows his struggles in constantly denying his madness, rather than accepting what he is. As the short storyprogresses, it becomes evident that even a touch of madness can go on to overtake our thoughts and actions especially if we cannot accept it as an essential part of us. An individual s ability to accept and face madness is directly related to their personal sense of acknowledgement and their self awareness that is associated with that. The narrator confesses that the sole reason for killing the old man is his eye. Whenever it fell upon me, my blood ran cold; and so by degrees very gradually I made up my mind to rid myself of the eye for ever. The narrator begins his tale of madness by trying to convince the reader he is not insane, but the reader quickly speculates that the narrator indeed is out of control. The fact that the old man s eye is the only motivation to murder him proves the narrator is so mentally unstable that he must search for justification to kill. In his mind, he rationalizes murder with his own unreasonable fear of the eye. The narrator ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Actual historical events, such as the scandal and subsequent litigation revolving around Anna Buschler which Steven Ozment detail s in the Burgermeisters Daughter, suggests something off a compromise between these two literary extremes. It is easy to say that life in the sixteenth century was surely no utopia for women but at least they had some rights. Anna was the daughter of Hermann Buschler, a prominent citizen who had even been the burgermeister of the German town of Schwabisch Hall, within the Holy Roman Empire. Anna s story shows that women did have some rights, and that they also had, at least in this case, the ability to defend those rights within legal institutions. Even more important is evidence of public opinion, instead of siding against Anna as an unfit daughter causing trouble for her family Hall s citizens actually sided with Anna against her father. In this, both daughter s obedience to father and woman s obedience to man were turned on their heads, revealing that regardless of religious doctrines of male authority, life among the people was much more complex. While not a complete victory for Anna, the battle for her inheritance was not a complete loss either. She capably fought her father and even the entire city council of Hall. This was no easy task because she couldn t represent herself in court. It was one of the first times where the moral code of Germany was overturned. She contested her father and went against the respect you re supposed to have. Her story was not a complete positive statement of female dominance, because that certainly was not the case, an ugly thirty year court battle doesn t indicate disempowerment either, even though her battle didn t personally benefit her to the fullest, it was a large step for women. Most people are uneducated and unaware of what these diseases actually are and the trials people diagnosed with these illnesses face. Due to their lack of education there is also a lack of compassion shown; causing an awkward, silent tension between people. Lupus is a subcategory of the Autoimmune Deficiencies. Those with this tend to be silent about their struggle, causing it to be unnoticed in the world. However, there have been efforts made medically to give these people a true voice. In order to give them a voice people must know what Lupus actually is, the causes and symptoms of it, and new research that can help improve the quality of life for those who have the disease. Autoimmune Deficiency is a medical term used that means that a person s immune system literally attacks and eats their issue. Their body does not know how to properly indicate the difference between healthy and unhealthy tissue so they produce antibodies that completely eat both sets of tissue. Lupus performs the same function in a person s body, but it is a very hard disease to actually diagnose because it can mimic various other diseases. It goes by the scientific name Systemic lupus erythematosus, with the common name Lupus being used in everyday terms. The debate is always should he have been killed or should he have lived and lead us to more victories. The first document that was used in the debate is a primary source. It s called De Vita Caesarum, Divus Iulius. The document is a biography of Julius Caesar and his life. Suetonius wrote the biography. Suetonius was a roman historian who wrote about the Roman Empire. It was written in 110 CE. It was written to show the side of the senators, and how they felt about having emperors. It is trustworthy because Suetonius used eyewitnesses and other evidence from books to provide a lot of information about Caesar. The only thing that I think is missing is the side of Caesar because he wrote it from the perspective of the senators view. Which puts Caesar in a bad light because the senators did not like Caesar. Considering that the article was written based off of the senators, it put Caesar in a bad light. Meaning that this author did not want Caesar to live. Another document that was used was a secondary source. It was an article written in the Britannica Student Encyclopedia. It was written for the public to read and understand Julius Caesar. • 44. The Importance Of Clean Drinking Water In India One of the biggest challenges facing the world today is the emphasis on providing clean water to everyone throughout the world. This is a fairly easy task in wealthier countries with strong central governments which establish regulations on how waterways are maintained and treated, however in developing countries like India the task is insurmountable. With India s population soon to surpass China by 2022 , there is a huge concern in the lack of clean drinking waterfor many of their citizens (Riley, 2015). If India s population is going to continue to rise at the rates it is experiencing today, the government must create more initiatives to alter the poor hygienepractices by its citizens, to ensure everyone has access to clean drinking water. One of the biggest problems facing India s access to clean water is the practice of improper hygiene, which is seen from the astronomical amount of people that presently practice open defecationor someone defecating outside in the open. The practice stems from early human civilization, but without much emphasis on the problem over the past century, it has continued to rise with India s rising population. In India, a staggering 522 million of their citizens practice open defecation (India, n.d.). This is an extreme cause for concern in a country that has such a dense population due to its population size compared to the countries overall size. What this entails is that even if the amount of people who practice open defecation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Brooke hopes to inform readers that war is a gift and that those who are able to fight should do so willingly, with great pride and honor. He adopts a passionate and serious tone in order to appeal to the feelings and experiences in his intended audience of young English males. Brooke challenges his intended audience by combatting their pessimistic beliefs of war. Brooke s sonnet Peace was written during an era of war. Different views and opinions about the war arose creating opposing ideas. Rupert Brooketakes an unpopular approach to the ideas and logistics of war, explaining that war is a solution and not a problem like most think. This sonnet celebrates what Brooke feels is his generation s great fortune to be born to fight in the First World War. He argues that it is a joy to be young and fit and able to fight for good in a world full of corrupt, cowardly men. He declares that the war has given the young a sense of freedom, and that to die in battle is a blessing to the proud and patriotic. Because young men posses the most suitable and efficient bodies and minds fit for war, they are Brooke s intended audience. Bradley s book fascinated me as it shifted from a soldier s pre war everyday life to their experiences with Iwo Jima and WWII. Throughout his story, the third person point of view gave a unique opportunity to set the historical context of a war imprinted into nearly everyone on this planet s history. The authors use of chapters was ingenious as the choice gave him an ability to show phases throughout the war torn era whether it was in as a young American man looking for a purpose, the naive young soldier etching for a fight, or the experienced vet on his way home from a traumatic world war. The story starts as giving some much needed historical context, explains his connection and motivation behind the book.
