The Identity Of The Arab Nations National Identity
Cultures in MENA are traditions, beliefs, and behaviors shaped by history, religion, ethnic identity,
language, and nationality . MENA consists of a mix of ethnic, language, and religious groups. The
diversity of these groups allow for cultures to co exist in the region. The family is very import and the
values that come from having strength in a solid extended family allows for respect, honor, and
loyalty. Religion plays a huge influence in the daily lives of the people in MENA.
Language, culture, social, and political, economic interests, and a collective memory of their place and
role in history. The logic of nationhood is frequently being formed and reformed, reflecting changing
conditions and self conceptions; together these deny total separation as well as complete incorporation
in the way communities relate to one another is fortified by shared images and origins (Barakat,
Halim). The national identity of the Arab Nations national identity is said to be focused on language.
Albert Hourani stated in his most famous book, Arabic Thought in the Liberal Age by Albert Hourani
asserts that Arabic people are more focused on their language more than any other peoples of the
world. This theory is also stated by Jacques Berque, saying the East is the home of the word the
Arabic language does not really belong to the world of men; rather, it seems to be lent to them, and
that Arabic writing is more suggestive than informative.

Ebay Inc. ( Ebay )
EBay Inc. (EBAY) is a leading global commerce platform that enables individuals and businesses to
buy and sell products online. Over the past 20 years, it has become one of the largest online
marketplaces, with over 159 million active users around the world and more than 800 million items
for sale. EBay s vision is one that is enabled by people, powered by technology, and open to everyone
(What We Do). EBay runs a more decentralized commerce system than Amazon and other e
commerce companies. Their purpose is to act as a facilitator of peer to peer commerce rather than
maintain their own inventory and sell directly to consumers. This gives more power to eBay
marketplace sellers and allows for both auctions and fixed price sales. (EBay vs Amazon) With new
startups on the rise such as Etsy, SellSimple, and Threadflip, along with e commerce veterans such as
Amazon or Alibaba, eBay has to continuously work to improve its services to maintain its sellers and
continue to attract a larger consumer base. (Thomas) Using information technology and improved
information systems has helped eBay achieve their goals and differentiate the platform in an
increasingly competitive market.
In September 1995, eBay founder Pierre Omidyar launched AuctionWeb, an open marketplace for
buyers and sellers. Working alone for almost a year, Omidyar hired his first employee in June 1996,
and by July, AuctionWeb had already sold $7.2 million worth of merchandise. In September 1998,
eBay went public.

Violence In Stan Lee s Dr. Strange
Silver age comics were steeped in the conservative nature of the 50s, even the edgier Marvel comics
fell into this trap and Dr. Strange is no exception. Stan Lee s Dr. Strange, though he wears a cape, is
no golden age Superman. Instead, he is a conservative man who answers to a greater vow to aid all
humanity regardless of the cost to himself, who just happens to get along with local law enforcement.
There are four main things in the Dr. Strange comics that set them apart from the golden age comics,
the first is the conservative nature of the conflict seen, even in the greatest battles ever seen no one is
truly hurt, the second is the lack of corporate or harden criminals who need to be taught a lesson,
instead the criminals introduced in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Strange finds himself faced with also differ from the golden age criminals. Instead of committing
violent crimes or being a part of organized crime that put others in danger they are petty criminals
such a thieves, or guilt ridden men. Even as these men commit the crimes seen in the comics they are
wholesome criminals. For example, in issue 110 When Dr. Strange is faced with a man haunted by
nightmares and guilt about robbing a man, Strange agreed to help the man stop his nightmares as he
was not yet aware of their cause. As Dr. Strange attempted to help the man he was trapped in a trance.
The man then attempted to kill Strange to prevent him from telling the authorities but, Strange easily
subdued the man once he awoke from his trance. Faced with his guilt the man clamed it s over! You re
alive, that means I ve lost. (Dr. Strange 110, 5) The man concluded that his escape was improbable,
therefore deciding it was best to surrender and claim now I ll confess. (Dr. Strange 110, 5) In a later
issue Strange is faced with Two thieves who steal a gem and get transported to the Purple dimension
and become slaves. Not only is the issue of slavery addressed as being fundamentally wrong, as Dr.
Strange makes it so Aggamon can only regain his strength by letting people go, but the criminals once
saved realize the error of their ways and turn themselves into the police (Dr. Strange 119, 8). They said
they wanted to serve time, pay their debts to

How Phobias Affect People And How Can Overcome Their Phobia
Purpose: At the end of my speech, the audience will know how phobias affect people and how to
overcome their phobia.
I. Introduction
a. Imagine being so afraid of something that you try everything in your power to avoid it. For
example, someone who fears spiders is not going to walk that trail that leads into a wooded area and
you can almost guarantee that the person who isn t too fond of heights isn t going to walk across that
tall bridge. If you ask these people why they won t partake in these activates, they would probably
respond with I don t want to or I m afraid to . Sure most, if not all, of us are afraid of something. I m
not thrilled to be standing up in front of everyone giving a speech, but here I stand.
b. If your fear prevents you from doing certain activates, then it isn t just a fear, it is actually a phobia.
In 2013, Patterson wrote that, A phobia is described as a chronic and extreme fear of an object or
situation out of proportion to the danger actually presented by the feared thing. (p. 58).
c. I find this description to be most accurate because I, at one point in my life, had a phobia. The
phobia I had is called coasterphobia and if the name isn t a dead giveaway, it is the fear of
rollercoasters. At that time, you could have offered me five hundred dollars to get on a rollercoaster
and I would have turned it down without hesitation. It wasn t until about three years ago that I
overcame my phobia and now I absolutely love roller coasters.

Mcdonalds Essay
Mc Donald s By the end of 1960s, under the guidance of Ray Kroc, who was a salesman with onetime
milk shaking capability, the Mc Donalds chain of fast food restaurants grew tremendously and there
were more than 1000 across the United States of America. After its tremendous success in USA, it
made a decision to go international and opened its first international franchise in British Columbia in
1967. Later that year, another was opened in Costa Rica .This was the point when the chain grew
steadily. In a period of six months in 1971, it made its presence in three new continents; stores were
launched in Japan, a suburb of Sydney and Holland. In 1979, Mc Donalds was introduced in South
America with a store opened in Brazil. By opening in Casablanca in Morocco In 1992, Mc ... Show

vegetarian dishes. In some Asian locations, Mc Donalds serves fried shrimp in Big Mac roll. In Brazil,
it offers baked banana pies for desert. It had taken around 33 years for Mc Donald s to open its first
10,000 restaurants. In April 1988, the 10000th unit was opened. However, the 20000 mark was
reached in only eight more years. However, everywhere across the world, Mc Donalds has not
received a warm welcome. Many European nations feel it is an insult to the national cuisines that they
cherish. In 1999, Jose Bove was declared a national hero when he along with other activists destroyed
Mc Donalds under construction. This was to protest globalization and bad food . Although there were
protests, Mc Donalds is seen as a symbol of peaceful globalization. After discussion of 14 years with

A Thousand Splendid Suns Analysis
For many years, women have been oppressed and treated as property. The opinion of a woman did not
matter, being obedient to her husband was all that is required. Even if they were obedient to their
husbands, women were property and only for the pleaser and likening to the husband. Mariam did all
the her husband required of her, however there was one thing should could not. Which was give her
husband, Rasheed, a son or any child. In the novel A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini,
Hosseini reveals the social issue of physical abuse and mental abuse by his use of imagery, diction,

Mariam ..understood then what Nana meant, that a harami was an unwanted thing; that she...was an

until Aziza came into her life and made her realize that what she was told when she was little was
incorrect. This use of diction made the reader realize how heartbreaking it was for Mariam to hear
those words from her mother. Laila on the other hand was severely neglected. After being bullied by
the neighborhood kids after her mother once again forgot to pick her up from school; Laila believed
that people Shouldn t be allowed to have new children if they d already given away all their love to
their old ones... (Hosseini, 119) Laila s mother, Fariba s love for her two oldest boys always put Laila

The Theme Of Friendship In Chaim Potok s The Chosen
Without friends, life is dull and tiresome, dragging slowly on until it feels too heavy to reverse the
effect. In The Chosen, by Chaim Potok, at first, Danny is lonely and sad without anyone who he can
openly talk to because of his distant relationship with his father. When Reuven, the protagonist,
coincidentally meets him in a baseball game, they start as enemies but quickly become great friends.
With a friend to help him, Danny suddenly brightens up and can open up about his difficulties. Also,
Danny and Reuven learn to overlook their differences, and only discover all the similarities between
them. Later, they start to complete everything together and bond tightly together. The friendship
between Reuven and Danny helps them overcome their distinctive struggles.
At the beginning of The Chosen, Reuven despises Danny and thinks of him as an evil boy, but later
realizes Danny s great qualities. One day, Reuven is playing a baseball game against Danny s team,
and before the game starts, Reuven s team talks about Danny s team as murderers . During the game,
Danny throws the ball and accidentally hits Reuven in the glasses, resulting in Reuven furthering his
hate for Danny. Afterwards, when Danny visits Reuven in the hospital to apologize, he is driven away
by Reuven s cruel comments. For example, Reuven angrily replies to Danny s apology by shouting,
You can go to hell, and take your whole snooty bunch of Hasidism along with you! (67). Later on, as
Reuven learns more

you re reading so far.......... KEEP READING!!!!!!!!!!!

6. There is rich cost data given in the case. This must be used to understand how much profits / market
share LT can achieve at various production levels ( we must assume that they product what they sell)
7. Though numbers given in the cost data can not be contested, I would definitely contest the way total
cost has been computed. The item 345 department operates within a large manufacturing facility that
churns out number of other products too. Hence judging the profitability of item 345 on the basis of
total cost is not practical.
8. I would like to remove allocated costs and fixed overheads and see what would be the variable cost.
If this is done, you can see that the variable cost hovers around 7 FF. ( Not many of you have done
this)
9. As the product manager, I would argue that my primary task is to ensure a healthy contribution
(Selling Price Variable Cost). This is logical because my salesmen sell other products too and the
selling overhead is an allocated cost. Moreover, the general plant overheads are also allocated costs.
10. My total variable costs look something like this. The one highlighted in green color.

PAY AND BENEFITS There are five major components of job satisfaction, one being monetary
benefits (Ghillyer 2010). According to Ghillyer (2012) an employee s behavior towards their pay may

Mozart Effect
Mozart Effect
The Mozart effect has two general definitions. Firstly, it is a set of research results that indicate that
listening to Mozart s music may induce a short term improvement on the performance of certain kinds
of mental tasks known as spatial temporal reasoning . And also it is popularized versions of the theory,
which suggest that listening to Mozart makes you smarter , or that early childhood exposure to
classical music has a beneficial effect on mental development.
The term was first found by Alfred A. Tomatis who used Mozart s music as the listening stimulus in
his work attempting to cure a variety of disorders. The approach has been popularized in a book by
Don Campbell. It is based on an experiment published in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, music has been evaluated to see if it has other properties. The April 2001 edition of
Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine assessed the possible health benefits of the music of Mozart.
John Jenkins played Sonata K.448 to patients with epilepsy and found a decrease in epileptiform
activity. According to the British Epilepsy Organization, research has suggested that apart from
Mozart s K.448 and Piano Concerto No. 23, only one other piece of music has been found to have a
similar effect; a song by the Greek composer Yanni, entitled Acroyali/Standing in Motion . It was
determined to have the Mozart effect , by the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine because it was
similar to Mozart s K.448 in tempo, structure, melodic and harmonic consonance and predictability.

Social Security s Impact On The National Economy
Stephen Goss, the Chief Actuary of the Social Security Administration once said, The concepts of
solvency, sustainability, and budget impact are common in discussions of Social Security, but are not
well understood. Social Security is an important federal program that provides a stable source of
income to individuals who no longer have a constant salary due to retirement, disability, or death. This
program, not only keeps millions of families out of poverty, but it also plays a vital role in the national
economy. According to the research report, Social Security s Impact on the National Economy , by
Gary Koenig and Al Myles, Social Security supports millions of jobs. The importance of this program
is clearly evident in both the national economy and in the economic stability of each individual state.
However, the future of the Social Security program does not look very stable and the right decisions
need to be made in order to ensure the solidity of the nations economy.
Social Security, referred to as Old Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance (OASDI), is paid on a
scheduled basis to workers who pay taxes and are either retired, disabled, or have passed away. The
significant role that this program plays in the U.S economy is clearly evident when the beneficiaries
spend their money on different goods and services. According to the Social Security Administration
(SSA) about 63.2 million people received benefits in 2013 and 65% of these aged beneficiaries

The World Needs Abortion Essay
One of the most important philosophical issues ever concerns the definition of a person and who is
able to feel. Abortion, which is a deliberate termination of pregnancy, is one of the most important
practical applications of that issue. Life on Earth is threatened with destruction from overpopulation
and the poverty that overpopulation causes. Fortunately, abortion can prevent overpopulation. The
question about whether abortion should be done is primarily the question about whether the embryo or
fetus is a person. In most cases, the embryo weighs less than 100grams: less than 10% of human brain.
Abortion should be legal since it is useful and since humans become conscious after birth, not before.
Values for Human Society
People are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If an embryo that does not feel is terminated, then the conscious object, a person, is never created. Not
creating a person is not immoral: When people are not having sex, they are not creating a person. If
the society has an optimum population, the net benefit (benefit minus harm) of an extra person will on
average be zero.
Practical Effects of Abortion
The world has a problem of overpopulation, not under population. The environmental problems occur
largely because too many people exist and strain the natural resources. Thus, not creating an extra
person is on average good for the society. (If creating a person would on average be good, then more
people should be created, and the population size is too small, not too large.) In abortion, when a
mother chooses not to create a person, the person is unwanted and thus probably should not be
created.
Much of the poverty found throughout the world is caused by having too many children. Abortion
prevents that and thus reduces poverty. Poverty contributes to crime. Therefore, abortion reduces
crime. Unfortunately, the government in the USA does not support abortion for poor people.
A serious defect in an embryo gives additional reasons for its termination. For example, Down
syndrome is a severe congenital disorder that is a major cause of mental retardation, worldwide.
(Cozic 138) Fortunately, fetal testing (with abortion) can prevent it. If the couple with a defective
embryo is

The Death Of The Marine Corps
1. Just like Nicholas Herriman expressed, I often heard growing up that going to college and living on
your own is a rite of passage to entering adulthood. I did not join the Marine Corps right out of high
school. It was about two years after high school and living on my own when I decided to join the
military, however the rites of passage was often used in the military as a way to signify that
individuals are now a men for joining the Marines. What makes these two examples not qualify as
rites of passage is due to the fact that they were not sudden events. These events were more of a longer
transition.

Analysis Of William Byron s Lord Byron
Everyone wants to experience love, but no one intends to deal with the heartbreak that comes with it.
Lord Byron, an immensely popular English poet from the era of the 1700 s, was a unique individual
who converted his emotions on Romanticism and the common man into scriptures of poetry. Other
than writing poetry about meaningless relationships and other conventional views, Byron was also
known as a ladies man. He had many partners that he only lusted for but also had numerous that he
fell in love with. Many of Byron s poems express his ideal perspectives on a woman s physical
characteristics and a man s humor. One could even say that the purpose of his poems was to objectify
women. Lord Byron uses literary techniques to express his point ... Show more content on

her his only best friend in the world. Lord Byron later moved on to publicize his verses and continued
to write about his relationships, lovers, and other perspectives that spoke not only for himself, but
others as well.
Lord Byron had a various amount of peculiar love interest, one of them being his cousin. A poem that
Byron wrote, in particular, She Walks in Beauty, references his relationship with her. This poem
illustrates numerous aspects of figurative language, imagery, and light to dark which expresses his
emotions for this women. For example, when he writes the first line of She Walks in Beauty, he thinks
about a lady s wonder to the night. Byron utilizes a simile to compare her excellence to that of
cloudless climes and starry skies (Byron 1 2), stressing the lucidity and the splendor of her
magnificence. Byron continues to open up his previous proposal that an immaculate mix of light and
dark is the mystery of his subject s excellence. The second stanza starts with a clear explanation of this
impact; he thinks he would have in any event to some degree impair d

debriefing (McNally et al., 2003), with intervention groups and control groups reporting equivalent
posttraumatic symptoms.
Psychological debriefing responded to these results by claiming there is only one component of a
comprehensive approach to crisis management and it is meaningless to evaluate the effectiveness of
this one component as a singular intervention strategy (McNally et al., 2003). The heart of this debate
is the issue of whether psychological debriefing might be a waste of resources (Brewin, 2001;
McNally, 2004). Mitchell has been shown to be credible because of the seven steps he believes to be
workable. In 1983, he introduced Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD). The model he developed
was designed to prevent and manage the horror resulting from traumatic stress, and reduce the
casualties among emergency service personnel. Mitchell model poses the below seven unique phases,
which are integrated with stress education and information throughout the process.
Introductory phase (rules and process explained).
Fact phase (what they saw, heard, smelled, touched and did).
Thought phase (first thoughts).
Feeling phase (emotional reaction).
Assessment phase (physical or psychological symptoms).
Education phase (stress response syndrome).
Re entry phase (referral information), (Kenardy et al., 1996, pg 38)

She can pass the affected gene to her children.
Prenatal counseling helps parents and families to understand the diagnosis and its implications. This is
particularly important for the reproductive choices of the people who have haemophilia or are carriers
and want information about natural, assisted and non reproductive opportunities available for the
family planning, and help early preparation for the possibility of having a child with haemophilia.
So to avoid further complications and for a healthy pregnancy outcome with a healthy baby, prenatal
counseling about haemophilia is a good initiative to make the parents aware about the consequences
so that they are able to take an informed decision.
In developed countries, there are special genetic counseling departments who help the families to
become aware about the condition and to have improved outcome. The team consist of haematologists
or blood specialists, nurses, social workers, physical therapists and health care providers who help the
families to understand the condition, its prevention and treatment.

Who Is Bilbo A Hero
Where would we be without heroes in fiction? What would we have left? No Luke Skywalker, Harry
Potter, Superman, Sir Lancelot, or Captain Ahab. Name a work of fiction that does not revolve around
or at least include a hero of some caliber. Ask yourself what stories could we still enjoy without the
greatest characters of literary history. We as people have shown time and time again that nothing can
beat our love for heroes, they have a special place in our hearts rivaled only by their associated
villains. Without them most stories just wouldn t be the same. The Hobbit is a perfect example of the
importance of heroism in literary fiction.
Bilbo Baggins is by no means a typical hero. Heroes are usually portrayed as being tall and handsome.
Bilbo is a halfling, therefore he is short and portly with hairy feet. Heroes are warriors and their
courage is apparent. Bilbo lives in a cozy hole in the ground spending his time blowing smoke rings
and eating more than three meals a day. Heroes are also normally viewed as fearless and good at
fighting, while Bilbo has never used a weapon before the events of The Hobbit, and is afraid of the
very idea of leaving his home of Hobbiton. When you compare Bilbo to someone like Superman the
differences are obvious. They are two very different characters, and yet they are both heroes. Bilbo is
undeniably very unusual when compared to the stereotypical archetype of a hero that I described
earlier. However, those qualifiers that I listed, while

The 2016 Democratic Party Presidential Primaries And Caucuses
The 2016 Democratic Party presidential primaries and caucuses is an ongoing heated battle between
Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. One of the most prominent topic is the issue of student debt.
According to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, student loans have quadrupled since 2004, to
$1.2 trillion (Brown). This insurmountable debt is an astronomical problem for Americans today and
more so, for future Americans. College tuition have been rising for the past 40 years and will continue
to do so exponentially. In an asset management report done by J.P.Morgan in 2014, the firm projects
the cost of private universities to be at roughly $90,000, and $40,000 for public four year universities
in the year of 2030 (Badkar). If the government remains dormant toward this issue, college students
20 years from now, will be burdened by an even bigger pile of debt.
The average American s financial ability and confidence is being crushed by this mountain of student
debt. In turn, more and more people are not able to purchase their own house, or start their own
business due to the pressure of paying back their overwhelming student loans. America, being a
consumer economy and 60 percent of jobs are created by small businesses, this rising college tuition
cost is affecting the majority of Americans and having a crippling effect on the whole economic
system (Korkki).
With the 2016 presidential election on the horizon, both candidates from the Democratic party had
already addressed their

Summary Of Margaret Atwood s The Victory Burlesk
Madeleine Davies had once said that Margaret Atwood s female bodies are inevitably coded bodies
that tell the story of the subject s experience within a political economy that seeks to consume them,
convert them into consumers in turn, shrink them, neutralize them, silence them, and contain them
physically or metaphorically. (Davies 60). In Margaret Atwood s short story, The Victory Burlesk,
Atwood is showing just that; Atwood is demonstrating how a woman is shrunken, silenced, and
contained. This short story is bringing attention to how people feel shame for women in realization of
reality, and how there is a focus on the Good Woman and the Bad Woman , how Bad Woman are
represented.
The Victory Burlesk is a story in which a woman is on stage and reveals herself as an elderly woman,
putting on a show for one another to watch, a show in which people in the audience began to feel
shame about. I could feel shame washing through me. (Atwood 20 21), there is a woman on the stage,
making herself vulnerable for everyone to see, and yet others are shameful in this situation. Why do
others feel shame? Because there is a realization that this woman is real. That that is a actual body up
there, one that no one wants to sexualize anymore due to her age and appearance. But also because
they are not properly showing the representation of how women are shown on stage. Difference can
make one feel uncomfortable, to the point they feel shame for another person. It was seen as if

Case Study Of Vanilla Rum Apple Butter
1. Product
The product that I have chosen for this project is a food product, Vanilla Rum Apple Butter. Apple
butter is made pretty much like apple sauce except you add spices or flavorings to it and slow cook it
for multiple hours. Slow cooking apple butter for multiple hours will result in it becoming thick and
spreadable. The Vanilla Rum Apple Butter would mainly be sold online and at local farmers market.
My target market could potentially be a wide range of food consumers. The one target consumer
would be anyone who likes apple butter and who is wanting to change it up a little bit from your
average apple butter. Then you have your apple lovers, your rum drinkers and anyone who likes the
flavor vanilla. You also have your morning toast eaters due to most people who consume this product

The Innocence of Daisy Miller Essay
In 1878, Henry James wrote, Daisy Miller, a novella about a young American girl and her travels in
Europe. Daisy Miller is a complex short story with many underlying themes such as appearance
versus reality, knowledge versus innocence, outward action versus inward meditation, and Nature
versus urbanity. In this short story, one is left to judge whether Daisy Miller, the main character of the
story, is a pretty American flirt or a misunderstood, modern young woman. By probing into the
complexities and contradictions of Daisy s character, it is obvious that Ms. Miller is merely a
misunderstood young woman.
Through his novel, Henry James shows his readers that the gap between what people believe to be true
and the actual truth can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He decides a pretty American flirt would be acceptable for him to know. Mainly he wants an excuse to
spend time with her. His desire for her to be innocent and undesigning reflects not only on her true
personality but also on his lust for her.
Mrs. Costello s character symbolizes old money and culture, even though she is American, and thus
sets up a stark contrast to Daisy Miller, a character devoid of much ritual or formality. Mrs. Costello
had lived much of her life in Europe and had kept a society so intentionally exclusive in America that
she has separated herself from any of the qualities associated with the innocence and natural
spontaneity of an American.
She believes the Miller s to be common and tells Winterbourne to stay away from them. However,
Daisy represents to Winterbourne what he lacks, standing as a metaphor of what all of Europe lacks,
as long as Daisy does not go too far with her social freedom.
Winterbourne is largely blinded to the honesty and innocence that Daisy imparts because he has
trouble recognizing a manner that has become foreign to him. Thus when Daisy walks calmly along
with both Giovanelli and Winterbourne in the Pincio and does not seem anxious to get rid of
Winterbourne, Winterbourne is perplexed (36 37). He does not realize that she does not know better
and she will ruin herself because of it.

inputting the data into IVRS database. At the end of this process the child s birth certificate will be

Being exposed to so many parts of HIM and actually preforming those functions has helped me to
visualize what I will be expanding on in class when I get back to school. Although my experiences
thus far have been in facilities that were mostly hybrid and not too much of the paper environment, I
did get an idea of the functionality of facilities that are mostly paper based from the feedbacks of the
other students on moodle. This also exposed me to functionalities that would exist in these types of
environments like record assembly. Spending time in each area of HIM has also been an enlightened
me on what it is I want to do. Prior to my on site experience I wanted to shy away from the idea of
going into management and wanted to go into ROI because it was something I knew I can perform
easily. Spending time in these areas, I realized that it would be a major step back to go into any of
those areas. I am going to school for management and I shouldn t aspire to become anything less. This
is the major awakening, I experienced on my PPE site visit. Once I came to this decision, I started to
look at the different functions of the department through a different set of eyes so to speak. I know can
examine the different areas of HIM and look for improvement or even take notes on how well the area
is performing due to the policies and procedures in place. I have experienced growth in a manner that I

Theme Of Euthanasia In The Million Dollar Baby
Million Dollar Baby, released in 20014, is a film directed by Clint Eastwood. He also stars as one of
the main characters by the name of Frankie Dunn. The film also stars Hillary Swank as Maggie and
Morgan Freeman as Eddie Dupris. This film is categorized as a sports drama and explores a variety of
issues. However, one of the moral dilemmas that come up strongly in this film is euthanasia. Although
it comes up towards the end of the film, it has a huge impact on how one perceives the whole film.
Euthanasia continues to be a moral dilemma for many people, especially Christians. This is because it
covers the very important issue of life and death. Though legal in some countries and several states in
the United States, it is still a hot topic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the beginning, Frankie appeared strong in his decision against proceeding with euthanasia. He was
strong enough to tell her that he could not do it, basing his decision on his beliefs. Eventually, he gives
up and decided to go ahead with the decision yet he knows that it is wrong. Though it was a difficult
decision for him to make, it is still not the right one. At one point, Frankie talks to Father Horvak and
expresses his conflicted feelings. Father Horvak advises Frankie to leave Maggie with God, since it is
wrong to kill a human being even under the circumstances. In his perspective, Frankie justifies the act
by saying that it is wrong for him to let her suffer any longer. He makes an individual decision that
goes against his faith and kills Maggie, just to end her suffering. It might have seemed like a good
decision at the time since it would end Maggie s suffering, but he still killed her, which is wrong. The
decision that Frankie made had a huge impact on his relationship with God, self and others. First, after
helping Maggie die, Frankie felt a disconnection from God. His relationship with God would never be
the same again, since he had knowingly committed sin. Secondly, Frankie s relationship with himself
changed as he felt guilty for what he had

There are four international competitive strategies that include: global standardization, localization,
transnational, and international. Global standardization is a business model based on pursuing a low
cost strategy on a global scale. Localization, on the other hand is a strategy that is focused on
increasing profitability by customizing the company s goods or services so that the goods provide a
favorable match to tastes and preferences in different national markets. Moving on transnational
strategy, which is a business model that simultaneously achieves low cost, differentiates the product
offering across geographic markets, and fosters a flow of skills between different subsidiaries in the
company s global network operations. Last of the international competitive strategies is the
international strategy which involves making products at home, while leaving other functions to
foreign business units.

Seaworld Inhumane
SeaWorld should be shut down for its cruel, and inhumane methods of keeping and training animals.
Orcas, dolphins, and other animals are used like machines, and not living things. They are confined to
tiny tanks, taken away from their homes and their families, and forced to perform for the
entertainment of people. Orcas at SeaWorld would need to swim 950 times around the bathtub like
tanks that they are kept in just to equal half of the distance that they would swim in the wild. Due to
the tiny tanks, orcas are seen with rake marks . Rake marks are painful gashes that occur when one
whale drags it s teeth across across another whale s body. Since the whales will often get irritated with
each other, fights will occur, but the whales have no where to escape to. No where to go. Imagine

These things are rarely, and almost never documented in the wild. Seals and sea lions are given no

damage. Lastly, the dolphins. I have never met a person who didn t love dolphins. Who wouldn t adore
these sociable and intelligent animals? Like orcas, dolphins swim miles and miles every day while out
in the wild, but at SeaWorld they are kept in tiny concrete tanks with nothing to do but listen to the
sound of their own echolocation bouncing off the walls back at them. Only in the past ten years, sixty
two bottlenose dolphins have died at SeaWorld. Their petting pools allow the public to pet, and even

The United Bill Of Rights Essay
http://www.coloradolaw.net/scholarship
The United Bill of Rights is perhaps one of the most important pieces of constitutional legislation that
protects the rights of the individual to freedom, liberty, and personal autonomy by limiting the powers
of the federal government. While most people and the media discussions surrounding the Bill of
Rights usually clusters around the 1st and 2nd Amendments, the 7th Amendment is also an integral
component in limiting federal power, which aids in transferring the power of government from the
concentrated hands of a few to instead the people. However, the 7th Amendment plays a less
significant role in affecting the day to day lives of the average American in today s time than it did
when the Bill of Rights was initially ratified in 1791, and may even be considered obsolete in the
modern world.
The 7th Amendment is fairly straightforward in meaning and intention, but has important implications
in terms of limiting federal power. There are two important elements of this amendment. The first
component, known as the Preservation Clause, declares: In Suits at common law, where the value in
controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved. This is the part
most people know, which details in what situations a jury is needed for trial. The second component,
known as the Re examination clause, states: no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re examined in
any Court of the United States, than

Pullman Worker Dbq
In the 1890s, Pullman s played a pivotal role in the American History causing depression and stress on
Pullman workers. This statement a Pullman striker wrote as a result of their suffering. The workers
were unhappy with the fact that their wages were decreasing and their rents weren t decreasing as
well; which eventually pushed them in the direction of accumulating debts. Since it was written by an
actual Pullman Striker at that time, it s a primary source. Writing this was a way to channel their
frustration and their reasons on why they decided to go on a strike. This statement does contain biases
because it was written to inform others on their melancholy daily lives as workers of Pullman. This

the spread of goods and ideas along the Indian Ocean trade routes remained constant, the states
controlling them changed, leading to the creation of new states and the addition of European

At the beginning of this time period, Malay sailors began riding monsoons to go to China and India.
This led to the passing of knowledge to others as well as making connections with various people. The

  • 2. The Identity Of The Arab Nations National Identity Cultures in MENA are traditions, beliefs, and behaviors shaped by history, religion, ethnic identity, language, and nationality . MENA consists of a mix of ethnic, language, and religious groups. The diversity of these groups allow for cultures to co exist in the region. The family is very import and the values that come from having strength in a solid extended family allows for respect, honor, and loyalty. Religion plays a huge influence in the daily lives of the people in MENA. Language, culture, social, and political, economic interests, and a collective memory of their place and role in history. The logic of nationhood is frequently being formed and reformed, reflecting changing conditions and self conceptions; together these deny total separation as well as complete incorporation in the way communities relate to one another is fortified by shared images and origins (Barakat, Halim). The national identity of the Arab Nations national identity is said to be focused on language. Albert Hourani stated in his most famous book, Arabic Thought in the Liberal Age by Albert Hourani asserts that Arabic people are more focused on their language more than any other peoples of the world. This theory is also stated by Jacques Berque, saying the East is the home of the word the Arabic language does not really belong to the world of men; rather, it seems to be lent to them, and that Arabic writing is more suggestive than informative. • 3. Ebay Inc. ( Ebay ) EBay Inc. (EBAY) is a leading global commerce platform that enables individuals and businesses to buy and sell products online. Over the past 20 years, it has become one of the largest online marketplaces, with over 159 million active users around the world and more than 800 million items for sale. EBay s vision is one that is enabled by people, powered by technology, and open to everyone (What We Do). EBay runs a more decentralized commerce system than Amazon and other e commerce companies. Their purpose is to act as a facilitator of peer to peer commerce rather than maintain their own inventory and sell directly to consumers. This gives more power to eBay marketplace sellers and allows for both auctions and fixed price sales. (EBay vs Amazon) With new startups on the rise such as Etsy, SellSimple, and Threadflip, along with e commerce veterans such as Amazon or Alibaba, eBay has to continuously work to improve its services to maintain its sellers and continue to attract a larger consumer base. (Thomas) Using information technology and improved information systems has helped eBay achieve their goals and differentiate the platform in an increasingly competitive market. In September 1995, eBay founder Pierre Omidyar launched AuctionWeb, an open marketplace for buyers and sellers. Working alone for almost a year, Omidyar hired his first employee in June 1996, and by July, AuctionWeb had already sold $7.2 million worth of merchandise. In September 1998, eBay went public. ... • 4. Violence In Stan Lee s Dr. Strange Silver age comics were steeped in the conservative nature of the 50s, even the edgier Marvel comics fell into this trap and Dr. Strange is no exception. Stan Lee s Dr. Strange, though he wears a cape, is no golden age Superman. Instead, he is a conservative man who answers to a greater vow to aid all humanity regardless of the cost to himself, who just happens to get along with local law enforcement. There are four main things in the Dr. Strange comics that set them apart from the golden age comics, the first is the conservative nature of the conflict seen, even in the greatest battles ever seen no one is truly hurt, the second is the lack of corporate or harden criminals who need to be taught a lesson, instead the criminals introduced in ... Instead of committing violent crimes or being a part of organized crime that put others in danger they are petty criminals such a thieves, or guilt ridden men. Even as these men commit the crimes seen in the comics they are wholesome criminals. For example, in issue 110 When Dr. Strange is faced with a man haunted by nightmares and guilt about robbing a man, Strange agreed to help the man stop his nightmares as he was not yet aware of their cause. As Dr. Strange attempted to help the man he was trapped in a trance. The man then attempted to kill Strange to prevent him from telling the authorities but, Strange easily subdued the man once he awoke from his trance. Faced with his guilt the man clamed it s over! You re alive, that means I ve lost. (Dr. Strange 110, 5) The man concluded that his escape was improbable, therefore deciding it was best to surrender and claim now I ll confess. (Dr. Strange 110, 5) In a later issue Strange is faced with Two thieves who steal a gem and get transported to the Purple dimension and become slaves. Not only is the issue of slavery addressed as being fundamentally wrong, as Dr. Strange makes it so Aggamon can only regain his strength by letting people go, but the criminals once saved realize the error of their ways and turn themselves into the police (Dr. Strange 119, 8). • 5. How Phobias Affect People And How Can Overcome Their Phobia Purpose: At the end of my speech, the audience will know how phobias affect people and how to overcome their phobia. I. Introduction a. Imagine being so afraid of something that you try everything in your power to avoid it. For example, someone who fears spiders is not going to walk that trail that leads into a wooded area and you can almost guarantee that the person who isn t too fond of heights isn t going to walk across that tall bridge. If you ask these people why they won t partake in these activates, they would probably respond with I don t want to or I m afraid to . Sure most, if not all, of us are afraid of something. I m not thrilled to be standing up in front of everyone giving a speech, but here I stand. b. If your fear prevents you from doing certain activates, then it isn t just a fear, it is actually a phobia. In 2013, Patterson wrote that, A phobia is described as a chronic and extreme fear of an object or situation out of proportion to the danger actually presented by the feared thing. (p. 58). c. I find this description to be most accurate because I, at one point in my life, had a phobia. The phobia I had is called coasterphobia and if the name isn t a dead giveaway, it is the fear of rollercoasters. At that time, you could have offered me five hundred dollars to get on a rollercoaster and I would have turned it down without hesitation. It wasn t until about three years ago that I overcame my phobia and now I absolutely love roller coasters. d. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After its tremendous success in USA, it made a decision to go international and opened its first international franchise in British Columbia in 1967. Later that year, another was opened in Costa Rica .This was the point when the chain grew steadily. In a period of six months in 1971, it made its presence in three new continents; stores were launched in Japan, a suburb of Sydney and Holland. However, the 20000 mark was reached in only eight more years. However, everywhere across the world, Mc Donalds has not received a warm welcome. Many European nations feel it is an insult to the national cuisines that they cherish. In 1999, Jose Bove was declared a national hero when he along with other activists destroyed Mc Donalds under construction. This was to protest globalization and bad food . • 8. The Theme Of Friendship In Chaim Potok s The Chosen Without friends, life is dull and tiresome, dragging slowly on until it feels too heavy to reverse the effect. In The Chosen, by Chaim Potok, at first, Danny is lonely and sad without anyone who he can openly talk to because of his distant relationship with his father. When Reuven, the protagonist, coincidentally meets him in a baseball game, they start as enemies but quickly become great friends. With a friend to help him, Danny suddenly brightens up and can open up about his difficulties. Also, Danny and Reuven learn to overlook their differences, and only discover all the similarities between them. Later, they start to complete everything together and bond tightly together. The friendship between Reuven and Danny helps them overcome their distinctive struggles. At the beginning of The Chosen, Reuven despises Danny and thinks of him as an evil boy, but later realizes Danny s great qualities. One day, Reuven is playing a baseball game against Danny s team, and before the game starts, Reuven s team talks about Danny s team as murderers . During the game, Danny throws the ball and accidentally hits Reuven in the glasses, resulting in Reuven furthering his hate for Danny. Afterwards, when Danny visits Reuven in the hospital to apologize, he is driven away by Reuven s cruel comments. For example, Reuven angrily replies to Danny s apology by shouting, You can go to hell, and take your whole snooty bunch of Hasidism along with you! (67). Later on, as Reuven learns more ... You arrive at school and the first thing you do is get bullied. Would you like it???? I know I wouldn t! One day later..... Ring ring! the school bell goes off for lunch. NOOOOOOOOOOO NOT THE BELL! Greg and his friend Rowely say as a stampede of big, older, and tougher kids come through the halls. Try being the youngest kind in your grade.Well if you have Greg Heffley has been too! As I mentioned, Greg is the weakest and puinest kid in the 6th grade, just to clearify that! If you like what you re reading so far.......... KEEP READING!!!!!!!!!!! But what i want to know is will their best friend relationship continue? Will Rodrick become more sucessful in his band? Another awesome book by Jeff Kinney, Cabin Fever, is the most funny and humorous book I ve ever read! This must be used to understand how much profits / market share LT can achieve at various production levels ( we must assume that they product what they sell) 7. Though numbers given in the cost data can not be contested, I would definitely contest the way total cost has been computed. The item 345 department operates within a large manufacturing facility that churns out number of other products too. Hence judging the profitability of item 345 on the basis of total cost is not practical. 8. I would like to remove allocated costs and fixed overheads and see what would be the variable cost. If this is done, you can see that the variable cost hovers around 7 FF. ( Not many of you have done this) 9. As the product manager, I would argue that my primary task is to ensure a healthy contribution (Selling Price Variable Cost). This is logical because my salesmen sell other products too and the selling overhead is an allocated cost. Moreover, the general plant overheads are also allocated costs. 10. According to Ghillyer (2012) an employee s behavior towards their pay may affect their work performance. Social Security s Impact On The National Economy Stephen Goss, the Chief Actuary of the Social Security Administration once said, The concepts of solvency, sustainability, and budget impact are common in discussions of Social Security, but are not well understood. Social Security is an important federal program that provides a stable source of income to individuals who no longer have a constant salary due to retirement, disability, or death. This program, not only keeps millions of families out of poverty, but it also plays a vital role in the national economy. According to the research report, Social Security s Impact on the National Economy , by Gary Koenig and Al Myles, Social Security supports millions of jobs. The importance of this program is clearly evident in both the national economy and in the economic stability of each individual state. However, the future of the Social Security program does not look very stable and the right decisions need to be made in order to ensure the solidity of the nations economy. Social Security, referred to as Old Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance (OASDI), is paid on a scheduled basis to workers who pay taxes and are either retired, disabled, or have passed away. • 15. The World Needs Abortion Essay One of the most important philosophical issues ever concerns the definition of a person and who is able to feel. Abortion, which is a deliberate termination of pregnancy, is one of the most important practical applications of that issue. Life on Earth is threatened with destruction from overpopulation and the poverty that overpopulation causes. Fortunately, abortion can prevent overpopulation. The question about whether abortion should be done is primarily the question about whether the embryo or fetus is a person. In most cases, the embryo weighs less than 100grams: less than 10% of human brain. Abortion should be legal since it is useful and since humans become conscious after birth, not before. Values for Human Society People are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If an embryo that does not feel is terminated, then the conscious object, a person, is never created. Not creating a person is not immoral: When people are not having sex, they are not creating a person. If the society has an optimum population, the net benefit (benefit minus harm) of an extra person will on average be zero. Practical Effects of Abortion The world has a problem of overpopulation, not under population. The environmental problems occur largely because too many people exist and strain the natural resources. Thus, not creating an extra person is on average good for the society. (If creating a person would on average be good, then more people should be created, and the population size is too small, not too large.) In abortion, when a mother chooses not to create a person, the person is unwanted and thus probably should not be created. Much of the poverty found throughout the world is caused by having too many children. Abortion prevents that and thus reduces poverty. Poverty contributes to crime. Therefore, abortion reduces crime. Unfortunately, the government in the USA does not support abortion for poor people. A serious defect in an embryo gives additional reasons for its termination. For example, Down syndrome is a severe congenital disorder that is a major cause of mental retardation, worldwide. (Cozic 138) Fortunately, fetal testing (with abortion) can prevent it. The heart of this debate is the issue of whether psychological debriefing might be a waste of resources (Brewin, 2001; McNally, 2004). Name a work of fiction that does not revolve around or at least include a hero of some caliber. Ask yourself what stories could we still enjoy without the greatest characters of literary history. We as people have shown time and time again that nothing can beat our love for heroes, they have a special place in our hearts rivaled only by their associated villains. Without them most stories just wouldn t be the same. The Hobbit is a perfect example of the importance of heroism in literary fiction. Bilbo Baggins is by no means a typical hero. Heroes are usually portrayed as being tall and handsome. Bilbo is a halfling, therefore he is short and portly with hairy feet. Heroes are warriors and their courage is apparent. Bilbo lives in a cozy hole in the ground spending his time blowing smoke rings and eating more than three meals a day. Heroes are also normally viewed as fearless and good at fighting, while Bilbo has never used a weapon before the events of The Hobbit, and is afraid of the very idea of leaving his home of Hobbiton. One of the most prominent topic is the issue of student debt. According to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, student loans have quadrupled since 2004, to $1.2 trillion (Brown). This insurmountable debt is an astronomical problem for Americans today and more so, for future Americans. College tuition have been rising for the past 40 years and will continue to do so exponentially. In an asset management report done by J.P.Morgan in 2014, the firm projects the cost of private universities to be at roughly $90,000, and $40,000 for public four year universities in the year of 2030 (Badkar). If the government remains dormant toward this issue, college students 20 years from now, will be burdened by an even bigger pile of debt. The average American s financial ability and confidence is being crushed by this mountain of student debt. In turn, more and more people are not able to purchase their own house, or start their own business due to the pressure of paying back their overwhelming student loans. America, being a consumer economy and 60 percent of jobs are created by small businesses, this rising college tuition cost is affecting the majority of Americans and having a crippling effect on the whole economic system (Korkki). (Davies 60). In Margaret Atwood s short story, The Victory Burlesk, Atwood is showing just that; Atwood is demonstrating how a woman is shrunken, silenced, and contained. This short story is bringing attention to how people feel shame for women in realization of reality, and how there is a focus on the Good Woman and the Bad Woman , how Bad Woman are represented. The Victory Burlesk is a story in which a woman is on stage and reveals herself as an elderly woman, putting on a show for one another to watch, a show in which people in the audience began to feel shame about. I could feel shame washing through me. (Atwood 20 21), there is a woman on the stage, making herself vulnerable for everyone to see, and yet others are shameful in this situation. Why do others feel shame? Because there is a realization that this woman is real. That that is a actual body up there, one that no one wants to sexualize anymore due to her age and appearance.
