Essay Classroom
Writing an essay on the topic of "Essay Classroom" may seem deceptively straightforward, yet
delving into the intricacies of this subject presents its own set of challenges. At first glance, one
might assume that discussing the classroom as a focal point for learning and intellectual growth
would be a simple task. However, as the writer begins to explore the multifaceted nature of the
classroom, they may find themselves confronted with a myriad of perspectives, theories, and
evolving educational paradigms.
One challenge lies in navigating the historical evolution of classrooms and their transformation
over time. From traditional lecture-based setups to modern collaborative learning spaces, there is
a vast landscape to cover. The writer must carefully choose which aspects to emphasize while
providing a comprehensive overview that captures the essence of the classroom experience.
Additionally, addressing the various stakeholders involved in the classroom dynamic adds
another layer of complexity. Teachers, students, administrators, and parents all play distinct roles,
each contributing to the intricate tapestry of the educational environment. Balancing these
perspectives requires finesse and a nuanced understanding of the dynamics at play.
Moreover, the essay should reflect on the impact of technology on the modern classroom. The
integration of digital tools, online learning platforms, and the ever-expanding realm of
educational technology introduces both opportunities and challenges. The writer must navigate
this landscape to present a well-rounded view of the contemporary classroom.
Furthermore, discussing the role of pedagogy, teaching methodologies, and the ongoing debate
on educational reforms adds depth to the essay. Evaluating the effectiveness of different
approaches while considering the diverse learning styles and needs of students is no small feat.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on the topic of "Essay Classroom" demands a careful balance
between breadth and depth, historical context and modern relevance, and the various
perspectives shaping the educational landscape. It requires the writer to synthesize information,
engage in critical analysis, and present a cohesive narrative that captures the essence of the
classroom experience.

The Crime Fighter Summary
I have read the book the Crime Fighter by Jack Maple. I highly suggest this book to
anyone with an interest of CompStat and how it first came around or just for fun
reading. In my paper I have carefully researched each individual topic as I read the
book to look for more information on each part. This includes CompStat, Uniform
CrimeReports (UCR) which is not used but we use National Incident Based
Reporting System (NIBRS), Warrants, Sting Operations, and Foot Patrol. Each one of
these with the exception of foot patrols and policeofficers in schools were in the book
when I read The Crime Fighter.
Introduction: I recently read the book the Crime Fighter. Before I read the book I
researched Jack Maple to see who he was. While researching
Arguments Of Narcissism
I went to the church yesterday! The impetus for the same was a mail from the vicar
of the Parish, welcoming the returning students after the Thanksgiving break. Quite
thoughtful from the part of the vicar, I presume, as for me, I spend the week binge
drinking and voraciously reading vicious books according to my mother. Inside the
church, all I could see was the carved wooden faces draped in shawls and winter
clothes, awaiting the commencement of ceremonious Holy Mass. As the clock struck
seven, at the university by the lakeside, the Entrance hymn began the answerfor the
ultimate philosophical question, Why am I What I am here? this question can be
paraphrased less narcissistic as What is the purpose of life? .
One of the inherent themes, in all the above questions is the hints of narcissism
present in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the context of these statements, I often wonder the geocentric universe and a denial
of evolution, is an appeal to the hidden narcissism of mankind. Though the delusional
conversations to the deity is not common, one couldn t turn a deaf ear to the incessant
chatter of the universe. The deafening silence is the answer of the universe, to every
important question thrown its way. Indeed, the very idea of silence to any question
seems quite ridiculous at a peripheral level, however eloquence of this answer is the
possibility of multiple interpretations. Though the explanation seems quite
incoherent, the experiences would corroborate the seemingly ambiguous
interpretation of silence, the greater good expressed by the apologetic is his
interpretation of the (un)intentional consequences of a turn of events. The apologetic
thus has given a rational explanation by connecting the dots
Analysis Of Love The Way You Lie
Love The Way You Lie, is a song sung by Eminem featuring Rihanna. Eminem,
born as Marshall Bruce Mathers, is an American rap musician from Missouri.
Eminem had a rough life, being raised only by his mother and constantly moving
schools. He would always be beaten up and did not have great marks, however he
was always good at English and would even study the dictionary. He took his
knowledge of words and brought them into his passion of hip hop, which then
started his career in rap. As his career was taking off, he got into bad habits,
personal struggles and addictions. In 2010, he managed to kick his addictions and
bad habits, and make the album, Recovery. In this album, he rapped about his
struggles in order to help others, Love The Way You Lie was one of the songs in this
album. Eminemchose... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

meaning of the song is that a couple constantly argue and physically hurt one another,
but always go back to each other as they are still in love. Though Eminem s and
Rihanna s past, it makes the meaning much more powerful.
This song is full of multiple literary devices such as hyperboles, metaphors, and
imagery. The hyperboles in the song emphasize strong feelings such as love, hate,
and pain. For example, Just [going to] stand there and watch me burn (Rihanna, 1),
is emphasizing that she is in extreme amounts of pain and all that her significant
other is doing, is watching her suffer. You ever love somebody so much you can
barely breathe when [you are] with [them] (Eminem, 33), emphasizes and how he is

Qing War Research Paper
Question:
Why was Japan able to defeat the Qing in the first Sino Japanese War of 1894 1895?
Thesis:
Japan was able to defeat the Qing in the first Sino Japanese War due to corruption in
the Qing dynasty s political, military, and institutional systems.
Formal argument:
Due to Qing s major internal problems in the mid 1800s, the war against Japan was
unquestionably going to fail.
Research Essay:
The Sino Japanese War started on July 25, 1894. The Sino Japanese war broke out
at the naval Battle of Pungdo and it all ended on April 17, 1895 when the signing
Treaty of Shimonoseki took place. This war ended in failure for the Chinese. The
supporting evidences presented in this essay will show that Japan was able to defeat
the Qing in the first Sino Japanese War due to corruption in the Qing dynasty s
political, military, and institutional systems.
First, the corruption in Qing dynasty s political system was displayed in its central
imperial government. The clear sign of corruption in Qing dynasty s political
system was displayed by Empress Cixi. One clear sign of corruption was on October
10, 1895, which was Empress Cixi s 60th birthday. Cixi took her birthdays very
seriously, therefore, she has prepared for this birthday for a very long time. In 1892,
she delegated the crown prince ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Literary Criticism In Cardinal Richelieu

Book Review Poetry is a form of art that serves the purpose to express the writer s
opinions, and also combat oppressive forces without the use of any physical force.
These writers can relate to the expression by the playwright and novelist Edward
Bulwer Lytton in the play Cardinal Richelieu, The pen is mightier than the sword
(BBC); this expression serves as a metaphor in its own right as the nature describes
the effect of words to provide a stronger impact on the intended audience than any
kind of violence would. This term ties in perfectly with the ideas of Chicanx; the
Chicanx perspective of life is oppression and the dangers of racial tensions and
manners to dethrone those who impose that on others. They have long fought
against the unfair forces that have come against them, and have been involved in
many violent forms of protest. With Cesar Chavez becoming more invested in the
peaceful form of protesting to gain trust and momentum in the campaigns they were
in, more and more writers began to express their feelings and place their own two
cents into the mixture of ideas. Often long stories are made in effort to express a
personal form of how life is changing and growing fears are turning into, however
some writers chose to use poetry as their version of a weapon against the oppressing
forces. A poem is much shorter and does not provide the sufficient build up that can
be placed into a Chicano novel, but the effect of

And Then There Were None and Murder on the Orient Express:
A Psychoanalytic Possession
Murder is often an occurrence in the novels of Agatha Christie and have plots that
change the views of the characters as well as the reader. But how does she do it? In
two of her most famous novels And Then There Were None and Murderon the Orient
Express compare to each other through an overpowering psychoanalytic possession
of many people at once. Psychoanalytic possession creates the characters to do what
they though they would never do. It comes to them in a mindless way through their

making them come to life. Due to the careful wording of Christie, common illnesses

Not only do they lie to the other passengers of the train and the reader, but also to
the great detective Herlcule Poirot. Lies and again lies. It amazes me, the amount
of lies we had told to us this morning... There are still more to discover. (Christie
MOE 61). The ego of the passengers and isolation are in sync to the theory as they
are all in small space with so much hatred towards the man that it drives them
enough to kill him. Being so tight in a small compartment leads them to all kill
Ratchtte for what he did to the little girl of Daisy Armstrong together and knew
what they were doing. The passengers have it set in their mind that they want to
kill him in which they do but never speak a word of it to Poirot. If ever a man
deserves what he got, Ratchett... Is the man... I m Rejoice I was end. Such a man
wasn t fit to live! (2.13). In closing, both novels show the ego/illness by all the
guests on the island and train committing a murder, lie about themselves, and hold
inner disires that only the reader learns to find out. Through psychoanalytic theory,
the mind likes to play a lot of games on the victim such as dreams of reality, poems
and riddles of the past, and isolation creating the best and worst out of them. Upon the
first novel, dreams take control of the mind to unleash the most inner desire. An
The Teacher Had Put On Board
Slightly and squeaky! The door to the classroom flew open as I burst into the room
and sat in my usual seat. This was the day I was going to learn how to do
polynomial long division. Good morning. The professor said, as she walked into the
classroom. Almost every one of the students had at least a pencil and notebook,
copying notes that the teacher had put on the board. After writing the notes down, I
said to myself, let me try to do one of the problems that the teacher had put on board.
Surprisingly, I could not start the problem because I did not even understand the first
step. Therefore, I stopped and wait for the professor.
After the teacher did the first problem, but she did not do or put all the steps on the
board, she skipped some of it. She said you guys should have known how to do this
stuff already. This is not an elementary or grade school, so I am not going to do or
write every little step. Without paying close attention and understand every single
step and everything she was saying. The first thing I did was, I immediately started
the next one. I started well. I did the first step which was the division part. Where I
had to change the way the problem was writing and to look at that first number of the
guy that I was going to divide into. I got stuck in the middle of step number two
which was the multiplication part. In the multiplication step, I had to multiply the
divisor with the quotient. However, I did not know if I had to put the answer right

Labour Influence On Jeremy Corbyn
Jeremy Corbyn has risked provoking a damaging row at the heart of the Labour
Party by pledging to restore Clause Four if he is elected leader next month. In an
interview with The Independent on Sunday, the man who has set alight the
leadership race says the party needs to reinstate a clear commitment to public
ownership of industry in a move which would reverse one of the defining moments
in Labour s history. Mr Corbyn s pledge will enrage many MPs and party members
who see Tony Blair s abolition of the old Clause Four two decades ago as a
symbolic and essential move which recognised the importance of markets and made
Labour electable. However, the MP for Islington North, who believes he has captured
a changing public mood, said voters,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Examples Of Slavery In Kindred
In Kindred, Dana is repeatedly teleported back to the 1800s to help her ancestor,
Rufus Weylin, out of trouble. Unfortunately, this is also the time when slavery was
alive and well. Dana, a black woman, gets whipped and treated like most other
slaves at the time. Short of fearing for her life, feeling dizzy, and teleporting back to
her time, there is no easy way out. Dana has to consent to this treatment to survive.
Among other scenes, this shows that when slaves see no easy way to escape, it s
much easier to submit than risk punishment or death. Slaves are made by forcing
people into slaveryand making escaping or resisting very difficult.
When Dana and Keven are both in 1819, Kevin takes a job tutoring Rufus and Dana
helps the house slaves. When they sit in the woods one day, Kevin points out how
little there is to see, angering Dana. She mentions Robert s whipping, saying Weylin
had two other slaves strip Robert down and tie him to a tree...And [they] all just
stood there. Did nothing. Kevin says there is nothing she can do that won t get [her]
whipped or killed. Dana confesses that she started teaching Nigel how to read. Dana
realizes that because of the threat of punishment or death, she and Kevin have to

When Dana tells him he should try to escape, Nigel says he tried once. Nigel soon

have been sold south when they caught me. I d probably be dead by now. If Nigel
and Carrie tried to escape, they would leave an actually secure home and be homeless

First Seminole War Essay
The first Seminole war started when Andrew Jackson became general of the
southern army. The war was only a year long. The first attack on Fowltown was
surprising and outraged the Creek Indians and lead to further battles. Andrew Jackson
was born on March 15,1767. Andrew Jackson s mother was named Elizabeth Jackson.
His father, Andrew Jackson, died a few days before he was born. He was born in
Waxhaws, South Carolina. He was a lawyer, representative, and a judge. He worked

Most of the battles were in Florida and in southern Georgia. The battles started
because the Seminole Indians were allowing any escaped slaves to become a part
of their tribe. The southern states didn t like that so they declared war on the
Seminole Tribe. The first attack was on November 21 when American troops
attacked the Creek Indian village of Fowltown which is now Decatur county. The
troops came again on the 23rd of November and Neamathla the chief of the village
and his tribe came out of the swamps and ambushed the Union soldiers .The attacks
on Fowltown ended a war of words that had gone on for months between
Neamathla and Major David.E.Twiggs the commanding officer at Fort Scott on
the lower Flint River in Michigan. Neamathla refused to move his tribe from the
lands ceded by the the US by the Treaty of Fort Jackson. The Treaty of Fort Jackson
said that the Creek Indians had to cede 23 million acres of their land. The Treaty
was signed on August 9,1814. That was what caused the first attack on Fowltown.
The estimate of Fowltown Indians killed is 6 to 8. Aaron Hughes was a fifer, a non

Essay about Absolutism vs. Constitutional Monarchy
In the upcoming United States Presidential Election it is possible to see a woman

most of the world. Throughout the world different types of governments have
survived, faulted, or have been altered. Many of these governments came from early
European countries. Two of the most popular types of governments to come from
Europe are Constitutional Monarchyand Absolutism. Traces of Constitutional
Monarchy and Absolutism are still seen today in different parts of the world.

Much of the English goods were imported from other countries as well. Beginning in
the mid seventeenth century England went through many changes including moving
to a commercial and urbanizing country. The first set of changes occurred as
England began producing different types of goods. Originally England was making
thick types of clothes that were made for the colder weathers. In the late seventeenth
century lighter fabrics began to be created. As the change shifted in clothing
construction, goods of other markets began taking over the industry. A wide range of
English products replaced imports on the English market and began to compete
successfully abroad. This shift to exporting goods instead of importing greatly
improved England s economy. These goods included sugar, glass, pottery, iron,
ships, and different typed of mined goods. Instead of paying to import these goods,
England began exporting goods and bringing in a huge amount of money to the
English economy. As the economy began to boom, a change in the way society lived
had also changed. Instead of living in large cities, citizens began moving outward in
the urban areas further away. Although most of the urbanization movement can be
contributed to the raise in population, there were also many other changes that were
occurring. Stagecoaches began having more frequent routes to all of the major cities
and also most of the smaller outlying cities.
The Effect Of Digital Technology On The Music Industry
The effect of digital technology on the music industry
Nowadays, teenagers are living constantly surrounded by technology. Even if the
younger generation may not see it, technology has had an impact on different
factors. The widespread use of digital technology in the music industry has allowed
consumers to reproduce digital versions of copyrighted songs inexpensively, with
the help of many software and websites. There has been an increase in digital
copying activities and those are most of the time claimed responsible for producers
loss in revenues. While some people claim that the increase of digital technology has
killed the music industry, in fact it has lead to innovation and new ways of consuming

There Are Acts Of Evil
There are acts of evil in our world constantly. More so than in years past, we hear
about school shootings, terrorist attacks, murders, and natural disasters such as
earthquakes, tornadoes and hurricanes. Everyday there is a new headline in the
news that proves that evil is happening all around us. This news is seen differently
from person to person based on their religious beliefs. Those who believe in God
think of him as having unconditional and infinite love for us. This being said, it is
very difficult for someone with this belief to think that someone so good could let
something so eviloccur. The problem of evilis important because where there is evil,
there is suffering. As humans, we do not like suffering, either physically or
emotionally. However, since it does happen so often in our daily lives, we tend to
wonder why we suffer in the first place and many times we ask ourselves where is
God through all of this? Non Christians and Christians view and respond to this
question differently. While some believe that free will causes suffering, other
believe that evil helps us figure out our role in the world and allows us to find
peace within ourselves. The Core 9 readings have presented several theodicies
explaining what other religions think of suffering and evil. These theodicies help
contribute to my understanding and my view of evil and suffering. I have concluded
that God does not intend to do evil things to us. But rather the reason for suffering is

Miranda July Identity
English Final Essay: Identity
In our contemporary, we have the choice and the luxury to decide who and what
we want to be. Identity is a topic of great importance in some of our stories.
Although, it is represented in a different way. So we get to ask ourselves: Can we
actually create our own roles and identity? First, it is present in Nilda by Junot Diaz.
Secondly, it appears in Something That Needs Nothing by Miranda July. Lastly,
misidentification is found in Amber Sweet by Adrian Tomine.
In the first place, we can see that the topic of identity is present in the story Nilda in
Junot Diaz s book This is How You Lose Her , more precisely in the relationship
between Rafa and Yunior. We can see that Yunior is following Rafa s steps.

The main character is a woman that is mistaken for Amber Sweet who is a really
famous porn star that looks exactly like her. Nowadays, people that look like they re

affected by this resemblance. When walking around, she always hears people
whispering and giving her weird looks or just laughing. Moreover, this
resemblance also affected her dating life. The men she dates or has a relationship

feels very insecure about herself and doesn t know how to react as we can see in

point where I couldn t set foot on campus without feeling completely self conscious

trying to be herself. But this does not help and her identity is still always mistaken
for Amber Sweet, who the narrator really isn t a big fan of but ends up liking her
when they finally meet after she cut her hair. In the story we can see that the
protagonist s identity has been chosen for her and has been forced upon her. She
really does not have the choice to be what or who she really wants to
The Internet Has Made Education Better For Teachers,...
The internet has made education better for teachers, student and parents however the
use of the information super highway does not have its faults. What are some
solutions to problems such as cheating, plagiarism and the validity of the information
online? Ethics, honesty, and fairness in online educationare always concerns because
of the quick internettransferring of information available to our students. There are
numerous ways that educators can help minimize this problem. Some action steps
that are readily available to online internet education are TURNITIN which is

humans monitoring several screens in the room where students are connecting to
their assignments online, a LOCKDOWN BROWSER can be downloaded to the
students computer which prevents students looking up things during an exam, and
there are KEYSTROKE RECOGNITION devices that recognize the student and
assures that the work is done by that student. Educators have to pay attention to the
criticisms as well. Some of the criticisms to examine are the claims that the internet is
unreliable, students don t get group interaction, teaching profession put at risk, no
way to measure truth in learning, students sheltered from real world, learning is
impersonal, and prevents students from learning how to communicate. The first
claim to examine is that the internet is unreliable. In order to find an internet website

political principles of a government. The U.S Constitution is the fundamental law for
the United States, which means the Texas Constitution the fundamental law for the
state of Texas. Most constitutions for the states are back up by the U.S Constitution,
which means the two constitutions have similarities and differences.
First, Texas constitution was written in 1827 and was rewritten six times until the
Texas constitution of 1876 was passed down. There are many similarities and

Addition, the Texas constitution and New York constitution have similarities and

Pope Leo the Third, 66, died on 12 June, 816 after 20 years of being the Vicar of
Peter. In his years of service, he was a marvelous Pope. He fought for the teachings
of Jesus Christ, and effortlessly tried to enrich Christianity as far as God allowed it.
It is unclear how he died now, but one thing is for sure is that he will be greatly
missed. PopeLeo the Third was born to Atyuppius and Elizabeth in Southern Italy.
He was a very God fearing and trusting child. His mother always said he was meant

horrid event, Pope Leo the Third escaped to the Duke of Spoleto, then to King
Charlemagne, then back home to Rome to finally rest.
The rebels that concocted that uncalled for attack, then came forward to King
Charlemagne to lay formal charges of adultery and perjury on Pope Leo the Third.
The physical attack and accusation were of very high treason. No person on earth
can charge the Vicar of Christ. King Charlemagne s Advisor Alcuin agreed with that
fact and reminded King Charlemagne of the Pope s position in power and
reputation. In the following December, the investigation of the accusation against the

in the name of Christian charity.
Then, on December 23, Pope Leo the third decided to take the oath of purgation and

North Koreans into the United States. This gave permission for limited commercial

between U.S. diplomats and North Korean officials. The importance of these
engagements should be evaluated in four main policy objectives towards our national
security:
1)Enhance regional stability:
North Korea s geographic position is critical to the national security of the U.S.,
Japan, South, Korea and the South Pacific region as a whole. Armed with significant
nuclear weapons and the fourth largest army in the world, the possibility of an
unstable North Korea has been avoided for decades, therefore recent threats ... Show

policy has prevented any threats to the international nonproliferation from a nuclear
North Korea which would have led to the development of nuclear weapons in South
Korea, and Japan, and even the trade of nuclear weapons material or technology. In
regard to missiles, the United States has secured North Korea s announcement of a
long range moratorium in fall 1999 through years of efforts. Nevertheless, there has
been no deal yet to curb North Korea s exports of its indigenous deployment. Recent
threats have prevented the U.S. in moving forward with future deals and weakens
current established ones.
3)Encourage dialogue between North Korea and South Korea:
Domestic and inter Korean politics heavily influences U.S. policy results; therefore,
maintaining a consistent diplomatic relationship with North Korea is imperative to
the dialogue between the North and South. Inconsistency from President Kim Young
Sam was largely due to his failure with Pyongyang as a result of his approach to
policymaking and domestic political pressures. Meanwhile, President Kim De Jung

Management of Thorpe Park Resort
Management of Thorpe Park Resort 1.Introduction Thorpe Park Resort is a theme
Park in Chertsey, England. Thorpe Park was built in 1979 on the partially flooded
gravel pit which was left after the demolition of Thorpe Park Estate in the 1930s.
Thorpe Park is owned and operated by Merlin entertainments. Usually kids above
eight years with parents, teens and young adults aged 16 24 who are thrill seekers
are the main target audience of Thorpe Park. Thorpe Park Resort now operates three
yearly events. Club nights occur every Saturday night a month from April to
September which features known music artists playing a variety of themed nights.
Summer Nights are held when the Park reopens after a normal day on Friday while
Fright Nights is Thorpe Park s Halloween event, an annual event that has been
running at Thorpe Park since 2002 (BignГ© et al., 2005). Organization are faced

The Meaning Of Modern Art By Terrence Malild
In chapters two and three of The Meaning of Modern Art, Karsten Harries describes
two ways that the relationship between man and nature is understood, and how these
understandings are evident in the changing artistic styles and philosophical themes of
the time. Harries describes two ways of seeing man s relationship with nature. Either
nature is beneath man s reason, and thus art must reconstruct nature in the image of
reason or man s relationship with nature is one of intense conflict, in which time and
nature conquer man, and only by submitting to nature s oppressive force can man
find some victory (Harries 17). In the latter view man is able to escape into his own
selfand there hear the voices of the gods; in the midst of life he... Show more content

Not long after, they have constructed a colony that is utterly separated from the
natural world by a wall, and inside, they have trampled all the grass and wildlife into
mud. The man from Europe, with his ideas of order and reason, has violently
imposed himself onto nature in the Cartesian tradition. Yet Malick does not present
this as the only option. Even as the ships are arriving in America, we see the natives
looking out at the oncoming Cartesians in their vast and geometric ships through a
field of trees. Quite literally, the natives perceive the world through the lens of nature.
They see things through and among the trees and the wildlife. They are actively
immersed in nature, living in harmony with it. At one point, we see Pocahontas, one
of the natives, dancing in an open field with her brother, simply enjoying the glory
of nature, allowing the beauty of life to live through her playfulness and simplicity.
Instead of trampling the grass and chopping down the trees, the natives dance
among them, as if nature was a dear friend. A colonists even remarks that the natives
are timid like a herd of curious deer , implying that he sees their harmony with
nature, but because he views nature as beneath man, there is a sense of disgust in his
words. This is one of the many contrasts between the natives and the colonists in the
film. One of the most striking contrasts Malick illustrates is in the way each uses
Advantages And Components Of Avago
C.Features Advantages
Some of the key features of these components are ultra small size, low insertion loss
and high rejection. These components also ensure reliability in high power and
temperature conditions. Advantages of these components are listed below:
1.The used of copper bumps dissipates heat better than traditional interconnects. This
ensures less thermal radiations from the device.
2.The wafer level packaging ensures mechanical protection for the filters enhancing
interference reducing.
3.The dual output power mode enhances the talk time even in portable conditions.
4.Use of FBAR filters (Low Insertion Loss) ensures long battery life and fewer
dropped calls.

Generally the power amplifier operated in 2 modes standby and output modes. To

Mental Abuse In The Indian Horse
Young Indigenous children from all over Canada were snatched from their homes,
taken from their families, and placed in residential schools that would ruin these
children and bring out the feeling of pain that would last their entire life. In Richard
Wagamese novel Indian horse, Saul Indian Horse, one of the many victims of the
sixties scoop was taken as a young boy, where he was abused mentally, physically
and emotionally at St. Jerome s residential school. This school would inflict pain that
would last forever and has a terrible aftermath on his life that puts him in a long and
difficult healingprocess he endured to turn his life around from the distractions he
used to hide from the pain. Richard Wagamese tells the story of Indian Horse through
the eyes of Saul Indian Horse to demonstrate the feelings he endures during the story
for the readers better understanding of the character.
St. Jerome was an abusive school the Indigenous children were taken to, not only
physically and sexually but there was also plenty of mental abuse Saul and the
other children withstood. The new children at the school were never welcomed
warmly with open arms, but as if they were criminals of murder and meant to be
placed in a cell. Saul begins his time at the school by being tossed into tubs to be
washed, Then a pair of nuns scrubbed us with stiff bristled brushes. The soap was
harsh. They rubbed us nearly raw. It felt like they were trying to remove more than
grime or odor. It felt as though
Animal Farm Character Analysis
Animal Farm, written by George Orwell in 1945 and performed at the All Saint s
College centre of performing arts, is known as a worldwide classic. Orwell based
this novel on Joseph Stalin s betrayal of the Russian Revolution and was his
attempt at destroying the Soviet myth. It is regarded as one of the most famous
political allegories in the world. It follows the story of a group of animals, who
decide to start a rebellion against the owner of their farm (Mr. Jones), and commit
to run it themselves in a way which is entails that all animals with receive equality
and freedom, and at the same time be happy. However, by the end of the story, the
pigs become their own version of Mr. Jones and begin to exploit the other animals
and take advantage of their dim wittedness. In the end, they become just like human
beings, and change their old maxim four legs good, two legs bad with a new one
four legs good, two legs better. A cruel tyranny was the end result.
One character in Animal Farm which particularly caught my attention was Napoleon,
who was played by Tessa Redman. I believe that she delivered a particularly effective
performance for the following reasons...
1.She stayed in character particularly well throughout the entire performance
Even when Redman was not speaking and was just standing in the dim light, she still
applied the gait, sound effects and facial expressions that she would have used if she
were the main focus of the scene. One example of where she applied
The Human Condition In Art
The human condition is defined as:
the characteristics, key events, and situations which compose the essentials of human
existence, such as birth, growth, emotionality, aspirations, conflict, and mortality. The
diversity of the human condition can be thought of as the very broad topic which has
been and continues to be pondered and analyzed from many perspectives, including
those of religion, philosophy, history, art, literature, anthropology, psychology, and
biology, (Human Condition).
For the first piece of artwork that I am going to discuss that exemplify the aspect of
human condition would be Noli Me Tangere by Titian. In this piece of art, the artists
depicts Mary Magdalene kneeling before the newly risen Jesus. This is an example of
human condition because in the artwork, Mary is emotional. Mary has just seen
someone who dies three days earlier and is now risen and back.
The artists uses the human condition in many ways besides just emotionally. The
artists uses the form of conflict in the painting. In the human condition, conflict is
one of the characteristics and the artists focuses on that because you can see Mary
kneeling and tugging at the robe of Jesus while he has a face of concern because he
knows what he is to do and that he is to keep going to not only speak to Mary but to
the other disciples.
Another human condition example in the art work is mortality. Jesus was crucified
three days before his resurrection and is now risen. There are not many cases

A caul is defined as a part of the amnion, one of the membranes enveloping the

Within the text A Palace Thief by Ethan Canin, Hundert, a history teacher in St.
Benedict s, believes that he will mold his students characters. He then meets
Sedgewick Bell, a student who influences his code of morals.
A major ideology that Hundert believes in is that with the assistance of history, he
will develop good character and high ideals in the minds of his students. He believes
that with these characteristics his students would become great men in the future. In
the text when Hundert is asked by Senator Bell what is the benefit of teaching his
students history, Hundert replies saying, When they read the reign of Augustus
Caesar... advances lead mankind away from the brutish rivalries... into the two
centuries of Pax Romana, then they understand the importance of character and high
ideals. It is important to note how Hundert is able to say this statement without
hesitation and declares that he is well prepared. This statement contributes to the idea
of Hundert s commitment of using great men of history to mold such qualities into
his students. Hundert believes that he should mold such characteristics into the minds
of his students because he was mindful of the the role the ...students would eventually
play in the affairs of our country. , As stated before, Hundert teaches at an elite private
school and he had taught the sons of nineteen senators, during his time there. As he

The Between Panopticon And The Schooling System Essay
From the concrete walls, the schematics of Architecture and even the way that we are
taught, school can remind us of a type of prison. We are taught by repetition and to
regurgitate information rather than actually go in depth to understand the topic. We
are ready to absorb information and not question said info. We are like fishes
swimming in a bowl, unable to comprehend what exists outside of our own sphere of
learning. In an essay written by Foucault, he talks about the idea of the Panopticon.
When reading his essay, it becomes clear there are striking similarities between the
Panopticon and the schooling system. It is my intent to show how both the schooling
system and the Panopticon strip Individuality away because of mechanical teaching.
This will be conveyed by showing the comparisons of the Panopticon and the
schooling system through the topics of how describing the similarity of the two
locations and lead into the course of Surveillanceon both subjects. I will then lead
into the topic of Discipline shaping behavior and will finalize with discussing how the
general architecture of schools and the Panopticon are similar.
The schooling system often teaches a rather mechanical approach to learning as we
are placed in a situation where learning is forced and a requirement to get through
society s means of, a future for ourselves and to be part of a respected status quo.
Surely the idea of graduating from an institution of knowledge does have many

A Brief Look at Fashion through the Decades
1920s fashion
During 1920s, still most of the men and women were thinking women as someone
s wives amd mothers; however, few women started to live as non conformist who
called the flappers (Bolotta, 86). Their fashion style was a big shock to Canadians
during 1920s because they wore thick make up, short dresses or skirts which come
above knees, exposed legs and arms and bobbed hair (Kateryna) These were new
styles to Canadian women, and flapper look became popular between women in
1920s. It is significant because it was the turning point of women Canadian fashion
trends. Mens, on the other hands, wore baggy pants, bright hats, bow tie, slim suits,
and knickers. They wore skinnier and slimmer suits which do not have padded
shoulders to look younger (Great Gatsby).
1950s fashion In 1950s,The fear of WWв… had started to gradually recovered, and
young adults started to form a group teenager and adopted their own fashion style.
One of the most common teenagers fashion style was Greaser look. Black leather
jacket, denim jeans, and greasy hair was called as Greaser look (Thomas). In 1950s,
women started to persue the feminity again. Soft shoulders, stiletto heels, wrist length
gloves, and full billowing skirts made these women more feminine. Working women
wore pencil slim skirts, and little hats with feathers on it (Enjoy Your Style). Men
wore business suits with some buttons opened, and hat lost its popularity (Dawdy).
1950 s fashion is important because teenagers

Essay On Perspective Risk Assessment
Retrospective Risk Assessments in Healthcare
Andrew Stubblefield
Colorado State University
Abstract
Retrospective risk assessment deals with problems that have happened or problems
that almost occurred. With this method, looking back on what caused the problem to
occur or almost occur are assessed. Then ideas are gathered to help prevent these
problems from happening again. This is where risk managers are essential to a
healthcare organization. This process was created and is used today to lessen the
chances of financial risks to the healthcare organization now and long term. This is
done by trying to limit the liability throughout the system of the organization, whether
this is staff, goals, rules, equipment, or etc. This is a very complex process and is
much deeper than finding a single employee that was involved and blaming them for
the fault. With retrospective risk assessment the uses of analytics are extremely
important to figure out what has caused a problem and what can be done to prevent it
from happening again or any slight alternatives to the problem.
Retrospective Risk Assessments in Healthcare
Retrospective risk assessment is used not only in healthcare organizations but
throughout all parts of life and any type of business. Retrospective risk assessment
is used when a problem has occurred or nearly happened. Then a group of people
come together and discuss what has happened, what could ve been done differently,
and how to avoid this problem in the future
Stereotypes Of Tv Research Paper
Television heavily relies upon stereotypes to provide a somewhat distorted and
glamorized picture of a variety of occupations, with emphasis on those in the
healthcare and legal fields; as a result, the real responsibilities of individuals in these
occupations can be seriously misconstrued by television viewers and leave them with
unrealistic expectations of what certain occupations actually entail. Although many
televisionviewers are drawn to the legal field as a result of television s depictions of
well dressed, glamorous lawyers who consistently dine out at fancy restaurants and
win all of their cases in a record amount of time, as seen in shows like Suits, the real
legal world consists of much more paperwork and routine tasks than is... Show more

For example, in the popular series House M.D., Gregory House becomes addicted
to opiates and remains employed, with a large variety of duties in the hospital
where he works, despite his increasingly erratic behavior towards his patients. In
reality, such behavior would not be tolerated as lightly as it is on screen. Another
example of inaccuracy in terms of how certain behavior would be tolerated in a
residency program is in season 1 of Grey s Anatomy when Izzie intentionally
worsens her patient and love interest Denny s condition in the hopes of getting him
moved up on the heart transplant list. She is allowed to stay in the program
despite breaching more than one very serious medical rule; in reality, though, it is
likely that such behavior would have much harsher consequences, but for the
purposes of the show, these same rules do not seem to apply. Another aspect of the
medical profession that appears to be largely dramatized is that of specialization.
Doctors on television seem to specialize to all fields, whereas real life doctors take
many years of gaining experience in order to specialize in one area. An example of
such a disparity between television and reality can be seen in House M.D., when
House single handedly performs multiple operations on the same patient, including
a brain biopsy and a gastroscopy. My aunt, who is a breast surgeon, spent many
years completing her residency before finally deciding to specialize in the treatment
of breast cancer and other breast related issues. When I was young and still
considering becoming a doctor, she would constantly remind me, It s nothing like
Grey s Anatomy! Grey s Anatomy is another example of a television show that seems
to distort things in the medical profession. For example, many of the characters on
the show, including Meredith Grey and Dr. Derek Shepherd, also referred to as

Intimate Partner Violence ( Tda ) Directed Against Women
There is no question that intimate partner violence (IPV) directed against women is a
fundamental issue. However, it is clear that a paradigm has been developed within the
IPV literature which generally holds that it is gender based; that perpetrators are
exclusively or disproportionately male (Dutton., 2006) and that females are the sole
victims. Whilst the original function of this paradigm was to generate social change
in a direction that righted an imbalance against women (Dutton Nicholls., 2005), the
present result is a misinformation regarding the reality of IPV. It holds that male
perpetrated violencetowards women arises from patriarchal values which motivate
men to seek to control women s behaviour, using violence if necessary (Bates,
Graham Kevan Archer., 2013). It will be further explored in this essay how this
claim, for the most part, has been rejected. In fact, a gender neutral view of IPV
has gradually emerged, beginning with the work of Strauss and colleagues around
30 years ago. Results from the 1985 National Family Violence Surveys (Straus
Gelles., 1986) in the USA showed that 12.1% of husbands were victims of their wife
s violence, prompting interest in this novel field. Thus Steinmetz (1977/78) proposed
the existence of the battered husband syndrome ; findings in her paper showed that
the rates of violence between both sexes in an intimate relationship were very similar
, with at one stage it being shown that the violence of wives

not for themselves, and they act selflessly. A hero recovers from their struggles

Composting, It s Gross
Composting, it s gross, it s stinky, and it can be downright atrocious, right? Wrong!
Well, partly. Composting can be gross sometimes with food and other weird things
decaying, but the advantages outweigh the risks don t they? Good soils that can help
gardens, trees, and plants are worth having a little stink. Many people think
compostingis hard, though it can be easier with the right equipment, the right c:n
ratio, and the right boosts that will help kick start your pile.
Compost bins have many different flavors or types. Some include tumblers (or
revolving drums), orbs, and cylinders. Tumblers and orbs are types of compost
bins that helps turn your compost easier. Revolving drums are normally on rollers
or can be hand cranked. They are made to spin easier, and are regularly enclosed.
They also can be vertical to turn over, or horizontal to be rolled like a barrel. Orbs
are bins that are octanal shaped or round. Orbs are very similar to revolving drums,
but are rolled on the ground to mix the compost. Some even have numbers that can
help you remember when you last turned it.6 Cylinders are simple designs that are
useful, and can be easy to move. Cylinders can be open or closed. Open cylinders
have no top or bottom, but has something of a wall around it. These can be easily
moved and mixed. Closed cylinders are commonly made of a thick plastic, and
contradicting the open cylinder has a top and bottom. They have ventilation and near
the bottom there is a door to take
Analysis Of A Man Called Ove
Have you ever had to send away a beloved one to heaven? If so, what did you
experience? Were you able to continue your daily life in pretty decent amount of
time, or were you trapped in your emotions and couldn t move on from it? If not
so, what would you imagine yourself being or feeling? A Man Called Ove, a
fascinating work of literature by Fredrik Backman, portraits a cranky, grumpy, old

with death are reflected in this dark story of Victor Frankenstein and his horrific
creation. Much of the conflicts between Victor and his creature are inspired by the
complex relationship between Godand his human creations from Paradise Lost.
However, by making the creator of the being a mortal, Mary Shelley challenges the
reader to question what it is to be human and criticizes the role of god in the
Romantic Era.
Although Victor s invention in Shelley s novel is science fiction, the narratives of
the characters and their experiences are believed to be autobiographical.
Specifically, the abandonment and continual rejection from his creator the Creation
experienced is thought to mirror what occurred in Mary s life. One of these
autobiographical links is believed to be reflected in Shelley s relationship with
God. The relationship between Victor and his creation can be seen of one reflecting
the one of God and his human creation. Like God, Victor is the creator of a live
creature that is brought back from the dead, and can create a new species of living
creatures. Accordingly, the Creature, as a representation of man, although born in
innocence is shown misery and becomes bitter and evil. Just as how God rejects the
initial establishment of humanity by
Legal Risk Case Study
Legal Risk
I work in a restaurant environment. As one can imagine, there are numberous health
and safety, and therefore legal, risks which must be considered at all times. This
particularly true when rolling out new processes and proceedures. Recently, the
restranunt I work for switched the physical way the menure items are brought to the
guest to tray service (meaning eveything is brought to the guests table on a large,
black, oval tray). However, quickly after implimentation it became apparent there was
not enough consideration given to risk regarding the tray service. Problems with the
new trays include:
1: Weight The weight of the tray, tray jack, and the nitouriouly large portions of food
is sevear. Complications do to the wieght of the trays include staffs inablity to lift
them, set them down, and delivery them, without injury. ... Show more content on

Size The doorways of the restaurant cannot accomadte the size of a person as well
as the size of the tray. Therefor, trays must be held above the servers head, rather
than resting on his/her shoulder, to navigate the restrant. Best case senario the server
is at risk of droping the tray and costing the store food/buisness, but more alarmingly,
risks injuring the staff. The trays are also so large, visibility is obstrusted which has
already resulted in an injury to a child patron.
If the restaurant had considered the four stages of risk management, the trays may not
have been implimented as:
1. Identify all foreseeable hazards (White Fortune, 2002). Both weight and size
concerns should have been glarring obvious, especially since doorway size has been
a known ADA concern for the establishment in the past (meaning the owners know
the building has small doorways). Also, being known for excessive portions could
have tiped a critical thinker off that weight was going to be a
Poor Mental Health
Introduction Poor mental health represents a significant problem worldwide and in
the UK, with approximately 16% of the population being affected at any given time
(Foresight, 2008 and Department of Health, 2009). This is a particular concern in
Scotland where approximately one in six individuals show signs of poor mental
health (Audit Scotland, 2009). Scotland also has particularly high suicide rates
which exceed those for the rest of the UK (Smith Merry et al., 2009 and Mok et al.,
2012). In addition to the personal cost to the individual, poor mental health has
significant societal and economic implications, representing a ВЈ22.5 billion a year
direct cost to the English economy alone (McCrone et al., 2008). In Scotland, the
direct and indirect costs of poor mental health are estimated to be ВЈ10.7 billion
(Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH), 2011). Subsequent understanding
of what factors have an impact upon mental health at the individual and societal level
is of great importance to future research and intervention.... Show more content on

The 20th century has been characterised by the movement of populations from rural
to urban areas a phenomenon expressed as urbanisation. For the first time in human
history, the world is predominantly urban, with over half of the population living in
towns and cities; this is predicted to rise to over 6.3 billion by 2050 (Demographia
World Urban Areas, 2016). The movement of populations to urban environments is
perhaps the single most significant demographic shift in the past century. Given the
current and projected growth in urban living, research into understanding the
potential impacts of urban versus rural living on individual mental health is becoming

HPV Case Study
HPV and its associated diseases affect men and women of all races and ethnicities.
In the United States, Caucasian females have a lower incidence of cervical cancer
and a higher incidence of vulvar cancer, while vaginal cancers associated with
HPV occur more frequently in black females CITE JEMAL 2013 HPV linked
oropharyngeal cancers are increasing in both sexes across all ethnicities with the
exception of blacks, and hpv associated anal cancers have increased in both males
and females of all races and ethnicities CITE JEMAL 2013 In the state of Florida,
between 1981 and 2009, there was a higher incidence of cervical, vaginal, and penile
cancer in the black population, a higher incidence of anal cancer in the Hispanic
population, and a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In their 2015 study Alves Ribeiro et al. found that women who began having sexual
intercourse prior to age of 16 were more than four times as likely to have a HPV
infection (OR 4.41; 95%CI:1.20 19.33), and nearly five times as likely for that
infection to involve serotypes 16 and 18 (OR 4.68; 95% CI: 1.20 21.32). Moreover,
women with a sexual debut prior to age 16 were twice as likely to have a diagnosis of
cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN)1 or greater (OR 2.2; 95% CI: 0.94 5.08
CITE 2. The same study also demonstrated a statistically significant association
between CIN 1 and HPV infection, especially infection with HPV serotypes 16 and
18 (OR 2.76; 95% CI: 1.05 7.19) and (OR 3.53; 95% CI: 1.17 10.67) respectively
(Alves Riberio et al., 2015). Over 90% of females in the United States are sexually
active by age 24; correspondingly, the prevalence of high risk HPV peaks at over
43% in the 20 24 age group (Vegunta, Kransdorf, Mayer, 2014). By age 30, the
prevalence of high risk HPV decreases to 30.4%, and continues to decrease as age
increases. It is thought that this age related decrease in prevalence can be attributed
to a combination of factors, including, decreased exposure, resistance to reinfections,
and HPV s self limiting nature (Alves Ribeiro et al., 2015; Vegunta et al., 2014).
Cumulatively, the prevention and treatment of HPV and its associated diseases are
responsible for a staggering approximately 8 billion in
Why Maintenance Is Important For Business Success
Related...
Maintenance plays a relevant role in business success related to offshore oil and gas.
It is a key for ensuring the efficient use of equipment as well as an efficient
production process and, hence on the profitability since failures impacts the
performance of subsea equipment both in terms of production accessibility and
repetitive breakdowns or running in bad condition may contribute to lower product
quality, increased energy consumption and reduced revenue. Thus, the objective of
maintenanceis not simply to overcome failures, but also to predict and prevent
revenue loss at the management level (Nguyen et al, 2013). Because of the long
distance between platforms to shore and the water depth, it is noteworthy that
maintenance can be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, the study focuses on minimizing this duality.
Thus, holding cost is a variable relevant to achieve the objective of the project;
therefore, it must be measured as close to the reality. In this proposal, the article
considered the cost of carrying as the sum of the cost of the physical space occupied
by the inventory including depreciation, insurance, utility costs, taxes, rent, cost of
handling the items. It was disregarding the obsolescence because the paper considers
an inventory system with non instantaneous deteriorating item.
In this context, it is proposed integration between preventive condition based
maintenance policies, spare parts service level, and overall cost (holding, ordering,
inspection, downtime and preventive and corrective replacement costs). Therefore,
the goal is to identify the optimal relationship between regular maintenance intervals,
preventive replacement threshold, optimal reorder time and stock level. The solution
can be addressed by a multi objective optimization model in which employs Monte
Carlo Simulation methods that can enable to estimate random and uncertain values
for all significant factors (deterioration levels and random failure rate), and
simultaneously assess the policy performance with respect to minimizing costs.
Having introduced the importance of the integration between critical spare
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Wifi
Abstract
We all know Wi Fi networks have broadcast system so there are different security
issues in the wireless connection. Hackers can steel every kind of personal data or

At first glance, one might assume that discussing the classroom as a focal point for learning and intellectual growth would be a simple task. However, as the writer begins to explore the multifaceted nature of the classroom, they may find themselves confronted with a myriad of perspectives, theories, and evolving educational paradigms. One challenge lies in navigating the historical evolution of classrooms and their transformation over time. The writer must carefully choose which aspects to emphasize while providing a comprehensive overview that captures the essence of the classroom experience. Additionally, addressing the various stakeholders involved in the classroom dynamic adds another layer of complexity. Teachers, students, administrators, and parents all play distinct roles, each contributing to the intricate tapestry of the educational environment. Balancing these perspectives requires finesse and a nuanced understanding of the dynamics at play. Moreover, the essay should reflect on the impact of technology on the modern classroom. The integration of digital tools, online learning platforms, and the ever-expanding realm of educational technology introduces both opportunities and challenges. The writer must navigate this landscape to present a well-rounded view of the contemporary classroom. Furthermore, discussing the role of pedagogy, teaching methodologies, and the ongoing debate on educational reforms adds depth to the essay. • 2. The Crime Fighter Summary I have read the book the Crime Fighter by Jack Maple. I highly suggest this book to anyone with an interest of CompStat and how it first came around or just for fun reading. In my paper I have carefully researched each individual topic as I read the book to look for more information on each part. This includes CompStat, Uniform CrimeReports (UCR) which is not used but we use National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS), Warrants, Sting Operations, and Foot Patrol. Each one of these with the exception of foot patrols and policeofficers in schools were in the book when I read The Crime Fighter. Introduction: I recently read the book the Crime Fighter. Before I read the book I researched Jack Maple to see who he was. While researching
  • 3. Arguments Of Narcissism I went to the church yesterday! The impetus for the same was a mail from the vicar of the Parish, welcoming the returning students after the Thanksgiving break. Quite thoughtful from the part of the vicar, I presume, as for me, I spend the week binge drinking and voraciously reading vicious books according to my mother. Inside the church, all I could see was the carved wooden faces draped in shawls and winter clothes, awaiting the commencement of ceremonious Holy Mass. As the clock struck seven, at the university by the lakeside, the Entrance hymn began the answerfor the ultimate philosophical question, Why am I What I am here? this question can be paraphrased less narcissistic as What is the purpose of life? . One of the inherent themes, in all the above questions is the hints of narcissism present in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the context of these statements, I often wonder the geocentric universe and a denial of evolution, is an appeal to the hidden narcissism of mankind. Though the delusional conversations to the deity is not common, one couldn t turn a deaf ear to the incessant chatter of the universe. The deafening silence is the answer of the universe, to every important question thrown its way. Indeed, the very idea of silence to any question seems quite ridiculous at a peripheral level, however eloquence of this answer is the possibility of multiple interpretations. Though the explanation seems quite incoherent, the experiences would corroborate the seemingly ambiguous interpretation of silence, the greater good expressed by the apologetic is his interpretation of the (un)intentional consequences of a turn of events. The apologetic thus has given a rational explanation by connecting the dots

Eminem had a rough life, being raised only by his mother and constantly moving schools. He would always be beaten up and did not have great marks, however he was always good at English and would even study the dictionary. He took his knowledge of words and brought them into his passion of hip hop, which then started his career in rap. As his career was taking off, he got into bad habits, personal struggles and addictions. In 2010, he managed to kick his addictions and bad habits, and make the album, Recovery. In this album, he rapped about his struggles in order to help others, Love The Way You Lie was one of the songs in this album. Eminemchose... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though Eminem s and Rihanna s past, it makes the meaning much more powerful. This song is full of multiple literary devices such as hyperboles, metaphors, and imagery. The hyperboles in the song emphasize strong feelings such as love, hate, and pain. For example, Just [going to] stand there and watch me burn (Rihanna, 1), is emphasizing that she is in extreme amounts of pain and all that her significant other is doing, is watching her suffer. You ever love somebody so much you can barely breathe when [you are] with [them] (Eminem, 33), emphasizes and how he is so in love with

Thesis: Japan was able to defeat the Qing in the first Sino Japanese War due to corruption in the Qing dynasty s political, military, and institutional systems. Formal argument: Due to Qing s major internal problems in the mid 1800s, the war against Japan was unquestionably going to fail. Research Essay: The Sino Japanese War started on July 25, 1894. The Sino Japanese war broke out at the naval Battle of Pungdo and it all ended on April 17, 1895 when the signing Treaty of Shimonoseki took place. This war ended in failure for the Chinese. • 7. Literary Criticism In Cardinal Richelieu Alfredo Camacho Dr. Fontes CLAS 5 3 October 2017 Book Review Poetry is a form of art that serves the purpose to express the writer s opinions, and also combat oppressive forces without the use of any physical force. These writers can relate to the expression by the playwright and novelist Edward Bulwer Lytton in the play Cardinal Richelieu, The pen is mightier than the sword (BBC); this expression serves as a metaphor in its own right as the nature describes the effect of words to provide a stronger impact on the intended audience than any kind of violence would. This term ties in perfectly with the ideas of Chicanx; the Chicanx perspective of life is oppression and the dangers of racial tensions and manners to dethrone those who impose that on others. They have long fought against the unfair forces that have come against them, and have been involved in many violent forms of protest. With Cesar Chavez becoming more invested in the peaceful form of protesting to gain trust and momentum in the campaigns they were in, more and more writers began to express their feelings and place their own two cents into the mixture of ideas. Often long stories are made in effort to express a personal form of how life is changing and growing fears are turning into, however some writers chose to use poetry as their version of a weapon against the oppressing forces. A poem is much shorter and does not provide the sufficient build up that can be placed into a Chicano novel, but the effect of

But how does she do it? In two of her most famous novels And Then There Were None and Murderon the Orient Express compare to each other through an overpowering psychoanalytic possession of many people at once. Not only do they lie to the other passengers of the train and the reader, but also to the great detective Herlcule Poirot. Lies and again lies. It amazes me, the amount of lies we had told to us this morning... There are still more to discover. (Christie MOE 61). The ego of the passengers and isolation are in sync to the theory as they are all in small space with so much hatred towards the man that it drives them enough to kill him. Being so tight in a small compartment leads them to all kill Ratchtte for what he did to the little girl of Daisy Armstrong together and knew what they were doing. The passengers have it set in their mind that they want to kill him in which they do but never speak a word of it to Poirot. If ever a man deserves what he got, Ratchett... Is the man... In closing, both novels show the ego/illness by all the guests on the island and train committing a murder, lie about themselves, and hold inner disires that only the reader learns to find out. Through psychoanalytic theory, the mind likes to play a lot of games on the victim such as dreams of reality, poems and riddles of the past, and isolation creating the best and worst out of them. Upon the first novel, dreams take control of the mind to unleash the most inner desire. An
  • 10. The Teacher Had Put On Board Slightly and squeaky! The door to the classroom flew open as I burst into the room and sat in my usual seat. This was the day I was going to learn how to do polynomial long division. Good morning. The professor said, as she walked into the classroom. Almost every one of the students had at least a pencil and notebook, copying notes that the teacher had put on the board. After writing the notes down, I said to myself, let me try to do one of the problems that the teacher had put on board. Surprisingly, I could not start the problem because I did not even understand the first step. Therefore, I stopped and wait for the professor. After the teacher did the first problem, but she did not do or put all the steps on the board, she skipped some of it. She said you guys should have known how to do this stuff already. This is not an elementary or grade school, so I am not going to do or write every little step. Without paying close attention and understand every single step and everything she was saying. The first thing I did was, I immediately started the next one. I started well. I did the first step which was the division part. Where I had to change the way the problem was writing and to look at that first number of the guy that I was going to divide into. I got stuck in the middle of step number two which was the multiplication part. In the multiplication step, I had to multiply the divisor with the quotient. However, I did not know if I had to put the answer right under
  • 11. Labour Influence On Jeremy Corbyn Jeremy Corbyn has risked provoking a damaging row at the heart of the Labour Party by pledging to restore Clause Four if he is elected leader next month. In an interview with The Independent on Sunday, the man who has set alight the leadership race says the party needs to reinstate a clear commitment to public ownership of industry in a move which would reverse one of the defining moments in Labour s history. Mr Corbyn s pledge will enrage many MPs and party members who see Tony Blair s abolition of the old Clause Four two decades ago as a symbolic and essential move which recognised the importance of markets and made Labour electable. Unfortunately, this is also the time when slavery was alive and well. Dana, a black woman, gets whipped and treated like most other slaves at the time. Short of fearing for her life, feeling dizzy, and teleporting back to her time, there is no easy way out. Dana has to consent to this treatment to survive. Among other scenes, this shows that when slaves see no easy way to escape, it s much easier to submit than risk punishment or death. Slaves are made by forcing people into slaveryand making escaping or resisting very difficult. When Dana and Keven are both in 1819, Kevin takes a job tutoring Rufus and Dana helps the house slaves. When they sit in the woods one day, Kevin points out how little there is to see, angering Dana. Beginning in the mid seventeenth century England went through many changes including moving to a commercial and urbanizing country. The first set of changes occurred as England began producing different types of goods. Originally England was making thick types of clothes that were made for the colder weathers. In the late seventeenth century lighter fabrics began to be created. As the change shifted in clothing construction, goods of other markets began taking over the industry. A wide range of English products replaced imports on the English market and began to compete successfully abroad. This shift to exporting goods instead of importing greatly improved England s economy. These goods included sugar, glass, pottery, iron, ships, and different typed of mined goods. Instead of paying to import these goods, England began exporting goods and bringing in a huge amount of money to the English economy. As the economy began to boom, a change in the way society lived had also changed. Instead of living in large cities, citizens began moving outward in the urban areas further away. Although most of the urbanization movement can be contributed to the raise in population, there were also many other changes that were occurring. Stagecoaches began having more frequent routes to all of the major cities and also most of the smaller outlying cities.

More so than in years past, we hear about school shootings, terrorist attacks, murders, and natural disasters such as earthquakes, tornadoes and hurricanes. Everyday there is a new headline in the news that proves that evil is happening all around us. This news is seen differently from person to person based on their religious beliefs. Those who believe in God think of him as having unconditional and infinite love for us. This being said, it is very difficult for someone with this belief to think that someone so good could let something so eviloccur. The problem of evilis important because where there is evil, there is suffering. As humans, we do not like suffering, either physically or emotionally. However, since it does happen so often in our daily lives, we tend to wonder why we suffer in the first place and many times we ask ourselves where is God through all of this? Non Christians and Christians view and respond to this question differently. While some believe that free will causes suffering, other believe that evil helps us figure out our role in the world and allows us to find peace within ourselves. The Core 9 readings have presented several theodicies explaining what other religions think of suffering and evil. These theodicies help contribute to my understanding and my view of evil and suffering. I have concluded that God does not intend to do evil things to us. But rather the reason for suffering is caused by

Ethics, honesty, and fairness in online educationare always concerns because of the quick internettransferring of information available to our students. There are numerous ways that educators can help minimize this problem. Some action steps that are readily available to online internet education are TURNITIN which is plagiarism detection software, remote live PROCTORING which uses web cams and humans monitoring several screens in the room where students are connecting to their assignments online, a LOCKDOWN BROWSER can be downloaded to the students computer which prevents students looking up things during an exam, and there are KEYSTROKE RECOGNITION devices that recognize the student and assures that the work is done by that student. Educators have to pay attention to the criticisms as well. Some of the criticisms to examine are the claims that the internet is unreliable, students don t get group interaction, teaching profession put at risk, no way to measure truth in learning, students sheltered from real world, learning is impersonal, and prevents students from learning how to communicate. The first claim to examine is that the internet is unreliable. In order to find an internet website that has reliable

Pope Leo the Third was rendered injured and unconscious. He was then whisked into to the Monastery of the holy martyr Erasmus to be kept safe. After that horrid event, Pope Leo the Third escaped to the Duke of Spoleto, then to King Charlemagne, then back home to Rome to finally rest. The rebels that concocted that uncalled for attack, then came forward to King Charlemagne to lay formal charges of adultery and perjury on Pope Leo the Third. The physical attack and accusation were of very high treason. No person on earth can charge the Vicar of Christ. King Charlemagne s Advisor Alcuin agreed with that fact and reminded King Charlemagne of the Pope s position in power and reputation. In the following December, the investigation of the accusation against the Pope were halted and never continued fully. King Charlemagne ordered those who conspired and attacked the Pope to be put to death under the Roman law of lese majeste. However, Pope Leo the Third begged King Charlemagne to spare their lives in the name of Christian charity. Engagement With North Korea Essay Engagement with North Korea did not start with the Clinton Administration, in 1988 President Reagan s modest initiative enabled unofficial non governmental visits by North Koreans into the United States. This gave permission for limited commercial exports of US humanitarian goods to Pyongyang, and permission for engagement between U.S. diplomats and North Korean officials. The importance of these engagements should be evaluated in four main policy objectives towards our national security: 1)Enhance regional stability: North Korea s geographic position is critical to the national security of the U.S., Japan, South, Korea and the South Pacific region as a whole. The Meaning Of Modern Art By Terrence Malild In chapters two and three of The Meaning of Modern Art, Karsten Harries describes two ways that the relationship between man and nature is understood, and how these understandings are evident in the changing artistic styles and philosophical themes of the time. Harries describes two ways of seeing man s relationship with nature. Either nature is beneath man s reason, and thus art must reconstruct nature in the image of reason or man s relationship with nature is one of intense conflict, in which time and nature conquer man, and only by submitting to nature s oppressive force can man find some victory (Harries 17). The man from Europe, with his ideas of order and reason, has violently imposed himself onto nature in the Cartesian tradition. Yet Malick does not present this as the only option. Even as the ships are arriving in America, we see the natives looking out at the oncoming Cartesians in their vast and geometric ships through a field of trees. Quite literally, the natives perceive the world through the lens of nature. They see things through and among the trees and the wildlife. They are actively immersed in nature, living in harmony with it. At one point, we see Pocahontas, one of the natives, dancing in an open field with her brother, simply enjoying the glory of nature, allowing the beauty of life to live through her playfulness and simplicity. Instead of trampling the grass and chopping down the trees, the natives dance among them, as if nature was a dear friend. A colonists even remarks that the natives are timid like a herd of curious deer , implying that he sees their harmony with nature, but because he views nature as beneath man, there is a sense of disgust in his words. Orwell based this novel on Joseph Stalin s betrayal of the Russian Revolution and was his attempt at destroying the Soviet myth. It is regarded as one of the most famous political allegories in the world. It follows the story of a group of animals, who decide to start a rebellion against the owner of their farm (Mr. Jones), and commit to run it themselves in a way which is entails that all animals with receive equality and freedom, and at the same time be happy. However, by the end of the story, the pigs become their own version of Mr. Jones and begin to exploit the other animals and take advantage of their dim wittedness. The Human Condition In Art The human condition is defined as: the characteristics, key events, and situations which compose the essentials of human existence, such as birth, growth, emotionality, aspirations, conflict, and mortality. The diversity of the human condition can be thought of as the very broad topic which has been and continues to be pondered and analyzed from many perspectives, including those of religion, philosophy, history, art, literature, anthropology, psychology, and biology, (Human Condition). For the first piece of artwork that I am going to discuss that exemplify the aspect of human condition would be Noli Me Tangere by Titian. In this piece of art, the artists depicts Mary Magdalene kneeling before the newly risen Jesus. This is an example of human condition because in the artwork, Mary is emotional. Mary has just seen someone who dies three days earlier and is now risen and back. The artists uses the human condition in many ways besides just emotionally. The artists uses the form of conflict in the painting. In the human condition, conflict is one of the characteristics and the artists focuses on that because you can see Mary kneeling and tugging at the robe of Jesus while he has a face of concern because he knows what he is to do and that he is to keep going to not only speak to Mary but to the other disciples. Another human condition example in the art work is mortality. Jesus was crucified three days before his resurrection and is now risen. There are not many cases

  • 35. Essay On Perspective Risk Assessment Retrospective Risk Assessments in Healthcare Andrew Stubblefield Colorado State University Abstract Retrospective risk assessment deals with problems that have happened or problems that almost occurred. With this method, looking back on what caused the problem to occur or almost occur are assessed. Then ideas are gathered to help prevent these problems from happening again. This is where risk managers are essential to a healthcare organization. This process was created and is used today to lessen the chances of financial risks to the healthcare organization now and long term. This is done by trying to limit the liability throughout the system of the organization, whether this is staff, goals, rules, equipment, or etc. This is a very complex process and is much deeper than finding a single employee that was involved and blaming them for the fault. With retrospective risk assessment the uses of analytics are extremely important to figure out what has caused a problem and what can be done to prevent it from happening again or any slight alternatives to the problem. Retrospective Risk Assessments in Healthcare Retrospective risk assessment is used not only in healthcare organizations but throughout all parts of life and any type of business. Retrospective risk assessment is used when a problem has occurred or nearly happened. Then a group of people come together and discuss what has happened, what could ve been done differently, and how to avoid this problem in the future

Another example of inaccuracy in terms of how certain behavior would be tolerated in a residency program is in season 1 of Grey s Anatomy when Izzie intentionally worsens her patient and love interest Denny s condition in the hopes of getting him moved up on the heart transplant list. She is allowed to stay in the program despite breaching more than one very serious medical rule; in reality, though, it is likely that such behavior would have much harsher consequences, but for the purposes of the show, these same rules do not seem to apply. Another aspect of the medical profession that appears to be largely dramatized is that of specialization. Doctors on television seem to specialize to all fields, whereas real life doctors take many years of gaining experience in order to specialize in one area. An example of such a disparity between television and reality can be seen in House M.D., when House single handedly performs multiple operations on the same patient, including a brain biopsy and a gastroscopy. However, it is clear that a paradigm has been developed within the IPV literature which generally holds that it is gender based; that perpetrators are exclusively or disproportionately male (Dutton., 2006) and that females are the sole victims. Whilst the original function of this paradigm was to generate social change in a direction that righted an imbalance against women (Dutton Nicholls., 2005), the present result is a misinformation regarding the reality of IPV. It holds that male perpetrated violencetowards women arises from patriarchal values which motivate men to seek to control women s behaviour, using violence if necessary (Bates, Graham Kevan Archer., 2013). It will be further explored in this essay how this claim, for the most part, has been rejected. In fact, a gender neutral view of IPV has gradually emerged, beginning with the work of Strauss and colleagues around 30 years ago. Nick s ultimate goal in life is to become a Feng Shui Consultant. To work towards that, he participates in many extracurricular activities to grow close to his peers and learn more about each individual s aura. Every Sunday after church, Nick spends his time volunteering at animal shelters. During the week, he is President of the Latin Club. He really puts effort into showing up, says Angela, a fellow Latin Club member. Over the summer, No Knees Nick dedicated his time to reading every Shakespeare play. He

Composting can be gross sometimes with food and other weird things decaying, but the advantages outweigh the risks don t they? Good soils that can help gardens, trees, and plants are worth having a little stink. Many people think compostingis hard, though it can be easier with the right equipment, the right c:n ratio, and the right boosts that will help kick start your pile. Compost bins have many different flavors or types. Some include tumblers (or revolving drums), orbs, and cylinders. Tumblers and orbs are types of compost bins that helps turn your compost easier. Revolving drums are normally on rollers or can be hand cranked. They are made to spin easier, and are regularly enclosed. They also can be vertical to turn over, or horizontal to be rolled like a barrel. Orbs are bins that are octanal shaped or round. Orbs are very similar to revolving drums, but are rolled on the ground to mix the compost. Some even have numbers that can help you remember when you last turned it.6 Cylinders are simple designs that are useful, and can be easy to move. Cylinders can be open or closed. Open cylinders have no top or bottom, but has something of a wall around it. These can be easily moved and mixed. Closed cylinders are commonly made of a thick plastic, and contradicting the open cylinder has a top and bottom. They have ventilation and near the bottom there is a door to take
  • 41. Analysis Of A Man Called Ove Have you ever had to send away a beloved one to heaven? If so, what did you experience? Were you able to continue your daily life in pretty decent amount of time, or were you trapped in your emotions and couldn t move on from it? If not so, what would you imagine yourself being or feeling? A Man Called Ove, a fascinating work of literature by Fredrik Backman, portraits a cranky, grumpy, old man, Ove s journey of meeting life changing new neighbor, opening his heart to them, and overcoming the grief and pain from a loss. After losing his beloved wife, Ove succeedingly loses his happiness and a purpose to live. He tries to commit suicide several times, however, fortunately, they are always interrupted by his new next door neighbor. They always look out for him and care deeply about him which leads him out of the depression and remembers again how it feels like to be truly loved and cared. A Man Called Ove is definitely an astonishing work of literature that has to be read by St. Andrew s 10th grade students because it has been rapturously reviewed by prominent critics, it has been well produced as a film, and it depicts the issue our society is going through with human grief and sorrow after a loss, while assisting the students to form their own standpoint about the issue. A Man Called Ove has received countless enthusiastic reviews by prominent critics, distinctly by New York Times Book Review, People, and Publishers Weekly. The Role Of God In Frankenstein The novel Frankenstein was written during the youth of Mary Shelley, a progressive woman who unlike many of her time, was educated and a personal sense of freedom. Her ability to make her own choices and her close experiences with death are reflected in this dark story of Victor Frankenstein and his horrific creation. Much of the conflicts between Victor and his creature are inspired by the complex relationship between Godand his human creations from Paradise Lost. However, by making the creator of the being a mortal, Mary Shelley challenges the reader to question what it is to be human and criticizes the role of god in the Romantic Era. Although Victor s invention in Shelley s novel is science fiction, the narratives of the characters and their experiences are believed to be autobiographical. Specifically, the abandonment and continual rejection from his creator the Creation experienced is thought to mirror what occurred in Mary s life. One of these autobiographical links is believed to be reflected in Shelley s relationship with God. The relationship between Victor and his creation can be seen of one reflecting the one of God and his human creation. Like God, Victor is the creator of a live creature that is brought back from the dead, and can create a new species of living creatures. Accordingly, the Creature, as a representation of man, although born in innocence is shown misery and becomes bitter and evil. Just as how God rejects the initial establishment of humanity by
  • 43. Legal Risk Case Study Legal Risk I work in a restaurant environment. As one can imagine, there are numberous health and safety, and therefore legal, risks which must be considered at all times. This particularly true when rolling out new processes and proceedures. Recently, the restranunt I work for switched the physical way the menure items are brought to the guest to tray service (meaning eveything is brought to the guests table on a large, black, oval tray). However, quickly after implimentation it became apparent there was not enough consideration given to risk regarding the tray service. Problems with the new trays include: 1: Weight The weight of the tray, tray jack, and the nitouriouly large portions of food is sevear. Complications do to the wieght of the trays include staffs inablity to lift them, set them down, and delivery them, without injury. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Size The doorways of the restaurant cannot accomadte the size of a person as well as the size of the tray. Therefor, trays must be held above the servers head, rather than resting on his/her shoulder, to navigate the restrant. Best case senario the server is at risk of droping the tray and costing the store food/buisness, but more alarmingly, risks injuring the staff. The trays are also so large, visibility is obstrusted which has already resulted in an injury to a child patron. If the restaurant had considered the four stages of risk management, the trays may not have been implimented as: 1. Identify all foreseeable hazards (White Fortune, 2002). Both weight and size concerns should have been glarring obvious, especially since doorway size has been a known ADA concern for the establishment in the past (meaning the owners know the building has small doorways). Also, being known for excessive portions could have tiped a critical thinker off that weight was going to be a

Poor Mental Health Introduction Poor mental health represents a significant problem worldwide and in the UK, with approximately 16% of the population being affected at any given time (Foresight, 2008 and Department of Health, 2009). This is a particular concern in Scotland where approximately one in six individuals show signs of poor mental health (Audit Scotland, 2009). Scotland also has particularly high suicide rates which exceed those for the rest of the UK (Smith Merry et al., 2009 and Mok et al., 2012). In addition to the personal cost to the individual, poor mental health has significant societal and economic implications, representing a ВЈ22.5 billion a year direct cost to the English economy alone (McCrone et al., 2008). In Scotland, the direct and indirect costs of poor mental health are estimated to be ВЈ10.7 billion (Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH), 2011). Subsequent understanding of what factors have an impact upon mental health at the individual and societal level is of great importance to future research and intervention.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The 20th century has been characterised by the movement of populations from rural to urban areas a phenomenon expressed as urbanisation. For the first time in human history, the world is predominantly urban, with over half of the population living in towns and cities; this is predicted to rise to over 6.3 billion by 2050 (Demographia World Urban Areas, 2016). The movement of populations to urban environments is perhaps the single most significant demographic shift in the past century. Given the current and projected growth in urban living, research into understanding the potential impacts of urban versus rural living on individual mental health is becoming increasingly

The same study also demonstrated a statistically significant association between CIN 1 and HPV infection, especially infection with HPV serotypes 16 and 18 (OR 2.76; 95% CI: 1.05 7.19) and (OR 3.53; 95% CI: 1.17 10.67) respectively (Alves Riberio et al., 2015). Over 90% of females in the United States are sexually active by age 24; correspondingly, the prevalence of high risk HPV peaks at over 43% in the 20 24 age group (Vegunta, Kransdorf, Mayer, 2014). By age 30, the prevalence of high risk HPV decreases to 30.4%, and continues to decrease as age increases. It is thought that this age related decrease in prevalence can be attributed to a combination of factors, including, decreased exposure, resistance to reinfections, and HPV s self limiting nature (Alves Ribeiro et al., 2015; Vegunta et al., 2014). Cumulatively, the prevention and treatment of HPV and its associated diseases are responsible for a staggering approximately 8 billion in
  • 46. Why Maintenance Is Important For Business Success Related... Maintenance plays a relevant role in business success related to offshore oil and gas. It is a key for ensuring the efficient use of equipment as well as an efficient production process and, hence on the profitability since failures impacts the performance of subsea equipment both in terms of production accessibility and repetitive breakdowns or running in bad condition may contribute to lower product quality, increased energy consumption and reduced revenue. Thus, the objective of maintenanceis not simply to overcome failures, but also to predict and prevent revenue loss at the management level (Nguyen et al, 2013). Therefore, the study focuses on minimizing this duality. Thus, holding cost is a variable relevant to achieve the objective of the project; therefore, it must be measured as close to the reality. In this proposal, the article considered the cost of carrying as the sum of the cost of the physical space occupied by the inventory including depreciation, insurance, utility costs, taxes, rent, cost of handling the items. It was disregarding the obsolescence because the paper considers an inventory system with non instantaneous deteriorating item. In this context, it is proposed integration between preventive condition based maintenance policies, spare parts service level, and overall cost (holding, ordering, inspection, downtime and preventive and corrective replacement costs). Therefore, the goal is to identify the optimal relationship between regular maintenance intervals, preventive replacement threshold, optimal reorder time and stock level. The solution can be addressed by a multi objective optimization model in which employs Monte Carlo Simulation methods that can enable to estimate random and uncertain values for all significant factors (deterioration levels and random failure rate), and simultaneously assess the policy performance with respect to minimizing costs. Having introduced the importance of the integration between critical spare
