Dionyyso The Role Of The God
The character of Dionysos assumes itself in many ways throughout Euripides Bacchae, the role of
the god, his intentions and subsequently his actions within the text are disorderly due to the comic
then tragic nature of the play, Dionysos is most definitely seen as a psychological force within the
text. However, Dionysos is, to a greater degree, understood to be a vindictive and heartless god
when considering the nature of his relationships to humans and the greater role he plays. The
Bacchaeis commentary on the relationship between gods and mortals as gods play psychological
forces in the realm of men, however vindictive their intentions may be. This is seen in instances in
the play where Dionysos uses his title as a god to further his agenda.... Show more content on

By analysing the dialogue provided and considering the religious atmosphere in ancient Greece at
the time it is easily deduced the true nature of Dionysos. The Dionysos I have explored is the
Dionysos most easily understood due to his lack of human morals, that because of his
anthropomorphic nature, cannot be discounted in modern analysis of his character. Overall
Dionysos has proven to be cruel and lacking compassion. His relationship to mortals is that based
on obedience as Cadmus states, Angry gods should not act just, like

An Exploration of Media and its Effects on Social...
Media is becoming an important aspect of today s society. Each and every day, people interact with
media of many differentforms. Media is commonly defined as being a channel of communication.
Our everyday lives are saturated by radio, television, newspapers, books, the Internet, movies,
recorded music, magazines, and more. In the twenty first century, we navigate through a vast mass
mediaenvironment unprecedented in human history. (Croteau and Hoynes, p. 3)This is also true
when we say media companies do not impose their own control upon the information being supplied
to media users. Since many people use media frequently, we can assume that it affects people.

Media has taken on an all new meaning to me from just taking this class. I feel truly that this is the
first class I can honestly say, I have learned something and grown because of what I have learned.
Media now is much more than the entertainment, news and advertisements I once thought it was.
We argue that the creators of media content have often reproduced the inequalities that exist in
society based on race, class, gender and sexual orientation. (Croteau and Hoynes, p.195) As a
society we are working our way toward a more equal society. As we know media is present in
many aspects of our lives therefore if they reinstating some of the widely known inequalities, thus
reinforcing these negative aspects of society. We are aware that the few media corporations that
are out there are owned but successful, white men. So when they choose the shows/music/movies
they want to produce these works, will include how they see the world. Thus the reinforcement of
inequalities present in our society. So when society evolves into a more accepting community
what happens to the media world? Creators of media products are often aware of this fact and use
entertainment media to comment on the real social world. (Croteau and Hoynes, p.97) Race refers
to the color/ethnic background of a person. There is no biological difference between an African
American and a Caucasian person,

The Doctrine Of The Holy Spirit
Introduction
What exactly happened on that Pentecost day? The traditional view says that this is the coming of
the Holy Spirit to inaugurate the Church Age. The question that arises is what does this mean and
how did it affect the church. The day of Pentecost empowered the church to be able to achieve its
intended purpose.
History of the Pentecost
The Classical Pentecostal doctrine of the baptism in the Holy Spirit was first formulated at the turn
of the twentieth century. Nevertheless, Classical Pentecostals claim that their view of Spirit
baptism is based on Scripture, and that this doctrine was a normative part of the experience and
teaching of the New Testament church. They further claim that this doctrine should be a normative
part of the experience and teaching of the Church today. However, the biblical texts, which are cited
by Classical Pentecostals to support their view, have been interpreted differently by non
Pentecostals. The practical value of this study is to help Classical Pentecostals and non Pentecostals
identify the source of this doctrine, and to understand why they disagree on this important point.
The Arrival
Luke elucidated the description of Pentecost as fully come. Pentecost brought about a new
fellowship. The Kingdom of God henceforth is sanctified in the Spirit of Pentecost. The new thing
is not in the wind and fire, or the gift of tongues, but in the possession of the Spirit by each for the
good of all.

The Last Report On Miracles At The Little No Horse
Family, peer influence, nature versus nurture, religion, and formal schooling all have an impact on
making individuals unique. With so many factors shaping one s identity, it is difficult to determine
which play the most pivotal role in one coming into their own. Most interestingly, identity is a
controlling factor in motivating one s behavior and actions. A common thread in shaping identity
across all cultures is the role of spiritual tradition. Through the characters in The Last Report on
Miracles at the Little No Horse, Louise Erdrich confronts individual and communal responses to
that reality. Since tradition is symbolic, not material, one can not physically hold on to their
tradition. In other words, an individual makes the conscious decision to allow or disallow tradition
to shape their own identity. Pauline Puyat is the product of cultural conflict, which shapes her
twisted, violent nature as a character, and through her Erdrich explores the winning of the west
from a non western perspective.
While some literary figures choose to continue along the lines of their cultural traditions, others find
flaws in traditional practices and decide to rebel against tradition. Marie Kashpaw. Defying tradition
is an interesting theme in literature, as well. Not all traditions should be continued, such as the
succession of abuse in the PUyat amily. Father Jude knows nothing about Ojibwe culture, so he
misses the undertow of clan meaning when Father Damien explains that Sister

Illinois Court Structure
They say justice is blind. Laws are made only to protect the interest of the wealthy. Anyone can
become a judge, one does not necessarily have to attend school to do so. These are just a few
myths about our judicial system, some of which that hold some truth, and others that are
inaccurate. In this paper, I will provide history about the type of court structure in Illinois, the
process in which judges and lawyers are selected within the state, and how judges and lawyers are
disciplined. To begin, Illinois was admitted to statehood in 1818. In its original Constitution, the
following was outlined: Every person ought to find a certain remedy in the laws for all injuries and
wrongs which he may receive in his person, property, or reputation; he ought to obtain by law right

In order to become a lawyer in Illinois, as I aspire to be, one must first attend an undergraduate
institute to obtain a degree. Next, for formal legal study, one must enter law school to obtain a
secondary degree called the Juris Doctor. However, before completing this, one must take the
Law School Admission Test (LSAT) as an entry exam to law school. The LSAT is offered four
times throughout the year, and consists of three sections which are: logical reasoning, analytical
reasoning, reading comprehension, and a writing sample. Hence, this test predicates how one will
perform in law school and often influences the school in which students are accepted. However,
upon graduation, one must pass the state bar exam. Even for this examination, there are a few
requirements under Rule 704 in the Supreme Court Rules: the person must be of twenty one
years of age, be of good moral character to practice law, has satisfactorily completed exams on
academic qualifications an responsibility as prescribed by the Board of admissions, and attend a
school on the approved list of the American Bar

Soy Essay
Soy sauce is used as an important flavouring in cooking and has been integrated into the traditional
cuisines of many East and Southeast Asian cultures. Despite their rather similar appearance, soy
sauce made in different cultures and regions are different in taste, consistency, saltiness and
fragrance.
Soy sauce is generally a salty, brown liquid made from fermented soybeans mixed with roasted
grain such as wheat, barley and rice, added with a mold called Aspergillus oryzae and salt. Its
consistency can range from very thin to very thick. Flavours too can vary by types and have very
subtle differences. There are many types of soy sauce, all of which are salty and earthy tasting
brownish liquids used to season food during cooking or at the ... Show more content on

These amino acids and peptides contribute a full, robust flavour and act as a flavour potentiator. The
moromi enzymes also convert the wheat starch into sugars which is important to the finished soy
sauce because it subdues the saltiness. Yeasts act upon a portion of these sugars to form alcohols.
Ethanol is the predominant of these and imparts many flavouring and aromatic characteristics. It
also indicates the presence of other aromatic compounds produced by fermentation. The amount of
ethanol varies depending on the types of soy sauce. For example, the lower level of wheat in tamari
soy sauce do not contribute enough starch to create ethanol so its flavour is entirely different.
Some of the amino acids and sugar undergo Maillard reaction during fermentation to develop a
reddish brown colour. The flavour will be adversely affected if too many of these flavour
contributing components are changed into colouring substances. The colour of finished sauce
will darken undesirably if it is exposed to oxygen. Opened containers of soy sauce should be sealed
and refrigerated to protect both flavour and colour. Finished soy sauce with a pH of about 4.8 and
around 1.0% lactic acid is considered as a good soy sauce

Allison s Character In The Unspoken
Allison was the protagonist in the book The Unspoken, she was a very bold, interesting character
but there was something about her that was different...she woke up from nightmares almost every
morning. Most of the dreams were labored and apprehensive and mostly directed at one person but,
sometimes there were multiple people or a different person every time.
Most of Allison s dreams were about her sister, Melanie (the reason for these dreams occurring
wasn t really mentioned). For instance, in the book it stated, she saw a picture of her sister
lying in bed black blood covering her throat like a scarf (Fahy 9) after doc Hillerman, Allisons
doctor, entered her residence. This daydream was one of the first that we see in the book The
Unspoken. There s a variety of dreams and daydreams that Allison has about her sister dying or
seeing her sister dead but, in the real world these dreams aren t real and her sister is alive, which I
find a little far out for someone who loves there sister. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Also, he used Blue and Green coloring style from the Tang Dynasty. As a traditionalist, Zhao used
Tang s feature in a revival meaning. Besides the simplified style, he successfully described
beauty of this region by giving a sense of classical elegance and calmness (Autumn Colors on
the Que and Hua Mountains). The impression that I got from this painting is beauty of the
simplicity. Compare to previous and later Chinese landscape painting, Zhao s simple brushwork
makes me to approach easily and appreciate the overall painting. Also, not just drawing the
overall mountain included by numerous trees, I like how Zhao described each tree s feature
like its leaves, brunches or color. Zhao painted the mountain with color blue instead of green and
I think this is creative and beautiful at the same time. He had an innovative choice which makes
him more special. The reason why this painting is so popular and unique is because of Zhao s
innovation using calligraphy in landscape painting. The use of calligraphy is also shown well in
other paintings by Zhao. We can see several written calligraphy around mountains and trees. For
example, Four Anecdotes from the Life of Wang Xizhi is a great example of Zhao s devotion on

Persuasive Essay On Self Driven Cars
Over 37,000 people die in road crashes each year, an additional 23.5 million are injured or
disabled, nearly 8,000 people are killed in crashes involving drivers ages 16 20 ( Road Crash
Statistics ). According to the Association for Safe International Road Travel, crashes cost the
U.S. $230.6 billion per year, or an average of $820 per person ( Road Crash Statistics ). So, now
imagine a world in where you feel safe to drive any time of the day. Imagine getting into a car
and not worrying about driving alongside drunk drivers, drivers who are exhausted, or
distracted drivers who are on their phones. Our technology has advanced significantly and it
only continues advancing. Waymo, a small project that was launched by Google started
exploring the idea of a self driven car. Self driven cars can be beneficial to our society because
they will lower traffic while improving safety, lower the death toll in car accidents, and will be
environmental friendly. If we start using self driving cars our society will become less worried
about risking their lives and people would not be so afraid to get to their destination. First and
foremost, with self driven cars having quicker reflexes than humans they will be less likely to
make the silly mistakes most humans make which will improve traffic congestion and safety.
Chris Urmson, the director of the self driving car project at Google in a blog post says, We have
improved our software so it can detect hundreds of distinct objects simultaneously pedestrians,
buses, a stop sign held up by a crossing guard, or a cyclist making gestures that indicate a
possible turn (Hustad). With driverless cars being this smart, it is okay to get distracted or to
make that important business call. These self driving cars are aware like no other and can
detect hundreds of objects. It is a little harsh to say, but driverless cars might just pay more
attention to the road than a human can because it never gets tired nor distracted. Karis Hustad
also mentions, In a video, the Google driverless car can sense a biker who veers in and out of its
lane, navigate around road construction, and pause for errant pedestrians. The new technology can
also read stop signs and waits for all cars to cross

Maze Runner Dystopian Society Quotes

characteristics as leaders and followers usually one coming out from the shade to lead their small
groups to rebel against order. Through, James Dashner literature the maze runner series he greatly
displays challenges of the protagonist in a fallen society. He also takes his text to the next level by
being able to display hopelessness in a series of challenges, with struggles with fear in courage as
the protagonist in the book go through their trenches, long and dangerous journey. Basically the
control the dystopian society creates. Since their beginning they all went through the same thing.

books their quote on quote just society it rebelled and contradicted against by the protagonist or
simply the characters that are tired of it in the books, for example in book one the kids or teens
are talking to one another and one exclaims think about it our memories are wiped, we live
inside a place that seems to have no way out. Surrounded by blood thirsty monster guards doesn t
that sound like a prison to you? James Dashner (64) Well does it? Theses teens basically had
their whole life taken from them, then the wicked just throws them in a maze filled with
monsters like a lab rats. The people/protagonist in the book had what everyone is obligated to in
their life their freedom and rights stripped away as if this corrupt society couldn t get worse,
overall the maze runner displays the perfect dystopian society. In an online source an author by the
name of Thomas Robinson spoke on the society in the maze runner and he exclaimed a dystopia
society can be described as one where conditions are incredibly bad and unpleasant for the
inhabitants whether due to an oppressive government degrading environmental conditions etc.
Knight, Melissa. The Maze Runner. Thomas goes on to speak on how life is already unpleasant
while where they live is most likely destroyed ruins very dirty and just filled with junk. Having
to live under the lies of their leaders. To wrap up, Dystopian societies lead to many hardships
that is faced which leads to the next topic on a dystopian society. One of the most intriguing
characteristics of James Dashner s dystopian society is how he brings all of his many different
characters to life in their very own unique way. From Thomas to newt to alby to gally they all act
and develop differently throughout the book series. In book one Gally makes himself known to
Thomas as the big boss, and basically disrespects him.

Difference Between Traditional Marketing Vs. Traditional...
What is the Difference between Traditional Marketing vs Digital Marketing?
Every business organization knows that great marketing helps find and retain customers. In
general, most recognize that there are several ways to market their products or services. Now more
than ever, people spend more time online than they spend reading books, or watching TV? For this
reason, digital marketing continues to grow and provides a way for companies to market to their
consumers where consumers are spending their time! Traditional Marketing
Traditional marketing has been around forever. Common examples include TV, magazine,
newspaper, radio, business cards, flyers, and trade shows. Traditional marketing methods are very
familiar and generally easy to understand. For that reason, many companies continue to include

In June 1995, GNN was acquired by AOL for an estimated $11 million.
It was closed in 1996, and all the subscribers were moved to AOL s dial up service.
However, it was in October 1994, when the team at Hotwired the first commercial web magazine
deliberated on ways to pay their writers and the idea came in the form of selling ad spaces in large
quantities and the term banner advertising was coined. The plan was to create special sections on
the website for the banners to be displayed on. The idea was not entirely new though. AT T was
one of the first companies to buy ads on Hotwired.
You see, internet is now one of those things that is taken for granted. It s hard to imagine a life
without it. But before the internet, when people wanted to get connected online they had to opt for
different measures. You could use a Bulletin Board System to stay connected locally unless the
system operator was connected to a network like Wildcat, or to stay connected on a nationwide
level, you had to use a paid service, like

C. S. Lewis Miracles Essay
In the book Miracles C.S. Lewis discusses what miracles are and challenges the reader, Christian
or not, to think philosophically on how and why they happen. He uses ideas such as naturalism and
supernaturalism to help readers understand the idea of miracles, but also makes sure to point out
that miracles do happen, and they happen for a reason. That reason being because Godintended them
to happen to maintain control on Earth as well as show his sovereignty. Some people may think
of things being out of control in the world to be riots, an uncontrollable plague, or even a three
year old kid throwing a tantrum, but in reality what if out of control is anything that has resulted
from the fall, anything that God had not intended? C.S. Lewis states, By definition, miracles must
of course interrupt the usual course of Nature...in the very act of so doing, assert all the more the
unity and self consistency of total reality at some deeper level (97). Miracles are not always
prevalent at times, but are ways for God to bring the world closer to how He had originally

Dian Fossey s Trip To Africa
Dian Fossey took her first trip to Africa in September of 1963. It cost her an entire life savings
plus a loan. It was during this trip that Fossey fell in love with the mountain gorillas, so she

station, she had many helpers, but it was her selflessness and drive that made the project possible.
It took some time for Dian Fossey to build a strong bond with the gorillas. At first, her main focus

The Criticization Of Camino Real
Camino Real is a play written by Tennessee Williams during the 1950s. The play tells the story of
an optimistic boxer named Kilroy, who enters the town of Camino Real with his championship
belt and golden gloves. The city of Camino Real is run by a dictatorship that does not allow its
people to leave or say certain words. People are regularly executed by the city s street cleaners
who both conduct the dirty work of the government and clear the streets of dead bodies.
Esmeralda, the Gypsy s daughter, sees Kilroy then selects him to be her champion, but he runs

The House Committee on Un American Activities went out of its way to censor anti American
and communist propaganda, thus creating a witch hunt in the process. This would spread fear
and paranoia among writers like Williams. The fear and paranoia that struck Williams is
reflected in Camino Real. For example, Gypsy says, Are you afraid of anything at all? Afraid of
your heartbeat? Or the eyes of strangers! Afraid of breathing? Afraid of not breathing? (Williams
25). With fear and paranoia comes the issue of trust, who can Williams trust? The answer is
simple, trust no one. The issue of trust is topic that is covered in the play and best described
when Marguerite says, We have to distrust each other. It is our only defense against betrayal
(Williams 72). With the inability to trust, it returns to the idea of why he originally chose the
word Hermano to be censored in the play. In addition, it also returns back to Williams s distaste of
dictatorships, but which dictatorship was Williams making reference to in the play? At the time,
Williams viewed the United States as a dictatorship because of the censorship under HUAC. In one
of his interviews, Williams said: each time I return [to the United States] I sense a further reduction
in human liberties, which I guess is reflected in

about $650,000 in capital but soon accumulated $1.5 million in debt since it lacked the technical
expertise to handle the accounts of large companies that had complex switching systems. The
company turned to Bernard J. (Bernie) Ebbers, one of its original nine investors, to run things.
Ebbers had previously been employed as a milkman, bartender, bar bouncer, car salesman, truck

focused the young firm on internal growth, acquiring small long distance companies with limited
geographic service areas and consolidating third tier long distance carriers with larger market

reselling market. Because the volume of bandwidth determined the costs, more money could be
made by acquiring larger pipes, which lowered per unit costs, one observer remarked.5 LDDS grew

American Exceptionalism
American Exceptionalism is defined in literature as Americans deprecation of power politics and
old fashioned diplomacy, mistrust of powerful standing armies and entangling peacetime
commitments, their supposedly moralistic judgements about other people s domestic systems, and
belief that liberal values transfer readily to foreign affairs. The reason for American Exceptionalism
could be chased back to American Culture and American Spirit. Even though the United States
system is not subject to the same contradictions and influences as other countries. The belief in
American superiority finds its foundation in some of their culture s basic religious and cultural
constructs. And it s being confirmed that the mental and moral superiority of Americans being
actively reiterated by American culture to the American public via movies, television and political
rhetoric. The American Spirit is being realized for all Americans are told in media that only they
know how the world really works, and only they know how it should be worked. So the American
Exceptionlism is the result of American culture and spirit.
Harold Koh and Ted Bromund are keeping different opinions based on the influence of American
Exceptionlism. It is a debate between pure virtues and both good and bad . In my opinion,
American Exceptionalism has both good and bad sides and we should try to reduce the double
standards by following better angles of national nature.

speak a single word. Of the play s thousands of lines, the Ghost speaks just some ninety lines,
which does not seem like much for such a key figure until we realise how this some lines influence
almost all the twenty two scenes. In fact, the words spoken by the ghostof the late king of Denmark

Without the ghost s initial revelation of truth to Hamlet, there would be no occasion for revenge; in
other words no tragedy of Hamlet . As we know that one of the major themes of Hamlet is
revenge. The motive force of this revenge theme is provided by the ghost when it says:
Let not the royal bed of Denmark be/ A couch for luxury and damnГЁd incest. (82 83)
In our third and final point that the appearance of the supernatural ghost shows up the character
and drives home a certain moral effect. Here is a transparent clear reality of the universe that the
activity like murder must be disclosed even if it done in a very cleverer and in the most secret
way. As Hamlet says about the murder of his father, For murder, though it have no tongue, will
speak / With most miraculous organ. (II.2).
Actually, the play shows that we cannot conceal the truth for a long time. The ghost, we feel, is
a representative of that hidden and ultimate power rules in the universe, it is a messenger of the
divine justice. As Hamlet says further in the earlier, Foul deeds will rise / Though all earth o er

with the purusharthas of wealth and pleasure, Artha and Kama, Teddy has developed past these
emotionally concerned goals, and in the process has become concerned with what all humans
should strive to achieve, the purushartha of Moksha, or liberation.

Today s consumers, for the most part, consider buying a car one of the most important
investments of their life, next to buying their home. The average price for a new Toyota Motor
Corporation vehicle today is around $25,000 or more, with the company also manufacturing
Lexus models. This solidifies its rather large and costly importance in terms of budget for

Vaccines And Its Effects On The Disease
Before vaccines were invented, whenever an individual contracted a disease, it would easily spread
to the people who were in contact with the individual. Many became carriers of the disease,
resulting in an outbreak. No one was immune from the disease, thus making the vast majority a
suitable host for the pathogen. In 1796, British physician Edward Jenner created the first vaccination
for smallpox by applying matters of fresh cowpox lesions on an infected eight years old s hand
(Riedel 2005). The fundamental principle behind vaccineis by injecting an antigen (usually a killed
or weakened bacteria cell) into a host body; the antigen will imitate an infection and attack the host
body. However, since the antigen is weakened or dead before being administered, it will not make
the body sick. The antigen triggers the immune systemto produce T lymphocytes1, B lymphocytes2
and antibodies to attack the affected cells, as though the body was infected with a disease. In the
future, when the vaccinated individual encounters the disease, his or her immune system will
recognize the pathogen and immediately produce the needed antibodies to fight it, preventing the
individual from infected ( Understanding How Vaccines Work 2013).
Immunization is one of the most effective ways to prevent the widespread of infectious disease.
When the vast majority of the population is vaccinated, it results in herd immunity, a form of
indirect protection against infectious disease. Vaccination decreases

What Motivates Employees Essay
How do you get things done in an organization? First, you must have managers who can delegate to
employees. Effective managers have the ability to get things done through other people. This is
accomplished by motivating employees to accomplish tasks. A manager must be able to delegate
these tasks to employees. The technique a manager uses to motivate employees to work for him,
will either motivate or dissatisfy employees. Motivated employees will work with the manager to
achieve company goals. Those employees who are dissatisfied will work against company goals.
It wasn t that long ago that employees were considered just another input into the production of
goods and services. (Linder 1998) Elton Mayo had a big ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This style is involved with the charisma, ability to inspire motivation,..., and ability to relate to
others. (Davidhizar 1997, 17) The encouragement the manager offers must be genuine or else it is
perceived as a form of manipulation. Some employees see non genuine encouragement as
management being fake and trying to get one over on them. This will make the managers job much
more difficult. Encouragement doesn t cost the company anything and it s in all managers best
interest to practice it freely and regularly.
Transformational leadership is about empowerment, cooperation and shared responsibilities.
(Davidhizar 1997, 20) So managers must be comfortable with all forms of encouragement. Also,
when positive actions are encouraged those actions are more likely to be repeated. Many managers
only punish negative behavior never reinforcing positive behavior. When employees are constantly
punished they learn not to vary from what is safe. Managers that reprimand are usually the type of
managers that leave very little of an employees job to the imagination. This type of management
style leads to employees being unmotivated, because the job doesn t let them use their abilities.
Many managers believe that punishment will stop undesirable behavior, punishment doesn t
necessarily assure the behavior will not happen again. It will most likely lead to employees only
exhibiting behavior that attracts praise and reward and

How Snowboarding Changed My Life
Hunter S. Thompson once said, Anything that gets your blood racing is probably worth doing.
Throughout life you are probably going to change hobbies and try new things, but your passion
is an activity that you can enjoy doing for the rest of your life. The thing that gets my blood
racing is snowboarding. It has helped me face my fears as a shy and unconfident girl, and bring
joy and excitement to my life. I believe that I will always be able to turn to snowboardingduring
anytime throughout my life.
At the age of twelve I started skiing. Not by choice, but because my grade was going and my
mom thought it was an easy way to get out of teaching me herself. Well anyway, after that
terrifying trip I loved it, and believe it or not, I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was pleasant enough to be able to stand comfortably outside in a light jacket or sweatshirt. A
perfect day to glide down a powdery mountain along with my best friend. The anticipation was
building as I sat in the back of Mrs. Smith s eighth grade classroom. In a matter of minutes I
would be packing my gear into the car and traveling toward impending doom: Sundown Mountain,
twenty one runs of exhilaration and danger. At that point in time I didn t know whether to be
excited or nervous. Snowboarding was completely new to me, not too much different than skiing
except for the fact that my balance would be shifted differently. I struggled enough as it was
keeping my balance on skis. How could I possibly be able to successfully maintain my balance on a
board?
At last, the bell finally rung, and I was headed home to get my gear. Hastily packing because
lessons began at approximately 4:30, with about an hour drive. I hopped in the car next to
Carolyn with minimal excitement. My nerves began to set in. I sat back and attempted to relax
while we traveled past Delaware onto Earlville. Watching cars and fields pass by aided me to
relieve some stress. I quickly forgot where I was going and why. Time flew by in that red Ford
Escape. The trip from Manchester to Asbury seemed to only take fifteen minutes instead of forty
five. We arrived far too soon, yet we were still late.
The parking lot was packed with eager snowboarders and skiers filled with excitement to begin their

Number 11 Research Paper
Show business is a tough field, and even the biggest names in Hollywood need to build friendships.
Some of these friendships are fortunate enough to develop into dynamic duos: two people who
mutually support and respect each other without trying to outshine their counterpart. With that in
mind, here are Hollywood s top 10 dynamic duos.
Number Ten: Julianne Hough and Nina Dobrev. These girls know how to comfort each other s
broken hearts. After her split with Ryan Seacrest, Nina took Julianne out for a night at a basketball
game. Julianne did the same with Nina when she broke up with her co star Ian Somerhalder.
Always there to offer their shoulder to one another, these two definitely epitomize best friend goals.
Number Nine: Katy Perry and Rihanna. Not only have they shared the passion in music, but these
two have also bonded over fashion. Katy revealed the story of their friendship that started with a
sparkly Valentino bag. Rihanna also threw an awesome bachelorette party for Katy when she was

Some have labeled Oprah and Gayle one of the most infamous friendships in Hollywood. Winfrey
and King have been friends long before Oprah was a household name. For me, these ladies have one
of the most iconic friendships in showbiz.
Number Seven: Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez. Although they have feuded and made up a
couple of times, Taylor has been Selena s rock especially during her extremely public breakup
with Justin Bieber. Not only have these two been friends for a long time, but they also become
birthday besties by throwing surprise parties for each other and their friends.
Number Six: Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts. Both of these Aussie actresses are known for their
perpetually glamorous style on the red carpet. Nicole and Naomi were classmates in high school,
and ever since then the two were always rocking the fashion scene, not to mention killing it with
their critically acclaimed roles in the film

  • 2. Dionyyso The Role Of The God The character of Dionysos assumes itself in many ways throughout Euripides Bacchae, the role of the god, his intentions and subsequently his actions within the text are disorderly due to the comic then tragic nature of the play, Dionysos is most definitely seen as a psychological force within the text. However, Dionysos is, to a greater degree, understood to be a vindictive and heartless god when considering the nature of his relationships to humans and the greater role he plays. The Bacchaeis commentary on the relationship between gods and mortals as gods play psychological forces in the realm of men, however vindictive their intentions may be. This is seen in instances in the play where Dionysos uses his title as a god to further his agenda.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By analysing the dialogue provided and considering the religious atmosphere in ancient Greece at the time it is easily deduced the true nature of Dionysos. The Dionysos I have explored is the Dionysos most easily understood due to his lack of human morals, that because of his anthropomorphic nature, cannot be discounted in modern analysis of his character. Overall Dionysos has proven to be cruel and lacking compassion. His relationship to mortals is that based on obedience as Cadmus states, Angry gods should not act just, like ... • 3. An Exploration of Media and its Effects on Social... Media is becoming an important aspect of today s society. Each and every day, people interact with media of many differentforms. Media is commonly defined as being a channel of communication. Our everyday lives are saturated by radio, television, newspapers, books, the Internet, movies, recorded music, magazines, and more. In the twenty first century, we navigate through a vast mass mediaenvironment unprecedented in human history. (Croteau and Hoynes, p. 3)This is also true when we say media companies do not impose their own control upon the information being supplied to media users. Since many people use media frequently, we can assume that it affects people. According to the text book Media/Society: Industries, Images, and Audience,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Media has taken on an all new meaning to me from just taking this class. I feel truly that this is the first class I can honestly say, I have learned something and grown because of what I have learned. Media now is much more than the entertainment, news and advertisements I once thought it was. We argue that the creators of media content have often reproduced the inequalities that exist in society based on race, class, gender and sexual orientation. (Croteau and Hoynes, p.195) As a society we are working our way toward a more equal society. As we know media is present in many aspects of our lives therefore if they reinstating some of the widely known inequalities, thus reinforcing these negative aspects of society. We are aware that the few media corporations that are out there are owned but successful, white men. So when they choose the shows/music/movies they want to produce these works, will include how they see the world. Thus the reinforcement of inequalities present in our society. So when society evolves into a more accepting community what happens to the media world? Creators of media products are often aware of this fact and use entertainment media to comment on the real social world. • 4. The Doctrine Of The Holy Spirit Introduction What exactly happened on that Pentecost day? The traditional view says that this is the coming of the Holy Spirit to inaugurate the Church Age. The question that arises is what does this mean and how did it affect the church. The day of Pentecost empowered the church to be able to achieve its intended purpose. History of the Pentecost The Classical Pentecostal doctrine of the baptism in the Holy Spirit was first formulated at the turn of the twentieth century. Nevertheless, Classical Pentecostals claim that their view of Spirit baptism is based on Scripture, and that this doctrine was a normative part of the experience and teaching of the New Testament church. They further claim that this doctrine should be a normative part of the experience and teaching of the Church today. However, the biblical texts, which are cited by Classical Pentecostals to support their view, have been interpreted differently by non Pentecostals. The practical value of this study is to help Classical Pentecostals and non Pentecostals identify the source of this doctrine, and to understand why they disagree on this important point. The Arrival Luke elucidated the description of Pentecost as fully come. Pentecost brought about a new fellowship. The Kingdom of God henceforth is sanctified in the Spirit of Pentecost. The new thing is not in the wind and fire, or the gift of tongues, but in the possession of the Spirit by each for the good of all. Peter Kent outlines Peter s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Last Report On Miracles At The Little No Horse Family, peer influence, nature versus nurture, religion, and formal schooling all have an impact on making individuals unique. With so many factors shaping one s identity, it is difficult to determine which play the most pivotal role in one coming into their own. Most interestingly, identity is a controlling factor in motivating one s behavior and actions. A common thread in shaping identity across all cultures is the role of spiritual tradition. Through the characters in The Last Report on Miracles at the Little No Horse, Louise Erdrich confronts individual and communal responses to that reality. Since tradition is symbolic, not material, one can not physically hold on to their tradition. In other words, an individual makes the conscious decision to allow or disallow tradition to shape their own identity. Pauline Puyat is the product of cultural conflict, which shapes her twisted, violent nature as a character, and through her Erdrich explores the winning of the west from a non western perspective. While some literary figures choose to continue along the lines of their cultural traditions, others find flaws in traditional practices and decide to rebel against tradition. Marie Kashpaw. Anyone can become a judge, one does not necessarily have to attend school to do so. These are just a few myths about our judicial system, some of which that hold some truth, and others that are inaccurate. In this paper, I will provide history about the type of court structure in Illinois, the process in which judges and lawyers are selected within the state, and how judges and lawyers are disciplined. To begin, Illinois was admitted to statehood in 1818. In its original Constitution, the following was outlined: Every person ought to find a certain remedy in the laws for all injuries and wrongs which he may receive in his person, property, or reputation; he ought to obtain by law right and justice.... The LSAT is offered four times throughout the year, and consists of three sections which are: logical reasoning, analytical reasoning, reading comprehension, and a writing sample. Hence, this test predicates how one will perform in law school and often influences the school in which students are accepted. However, upon graduation, one must pass the state bar exam. Even for this examination, there are a few requirements under Rule 704 in the Supreme Court Rules: the person must be of twenty one years of age, be of good moral character to practice law, has satisfactorily completed exams on academic qualifications an responsibility as prescribed by the Board of admissions, and attend a school on the approved list of the American Bar ... These amino acids and peptides contribute a full, robust flavour and act as a flavour potentiator. The moromi enzymes also convert the wheat starch into sugars which is important to the finished soy sauce because it subdues the saltiness. Yeasts act upon a portion of these sugars to form alcohols. Ethanol is the predominant of these and imparts many flavouring and aromatic characteristics. It also indicates the presence of other aromatic compounds produced by fermentation. The amount of ethanol varies depending on the types of soy sauce. For example, the lower level of wheat in tamari soy sauce do not contribute enough starch to create ethanol so its flavour is entirely different. Some of the amino acids and sugar undergo Maillard reaction during fermentation to develop a reddish brown colour. The flavour will be adversely affected if too many of these flavour contributing components are changed into colouring substances. The colour of finished sauce will darken undesirably if it is exposed to oxygen. Opened containers of soy sauce should be sealed and refrigerated to protect both flavour and colour. According to the Association for Safe International Road Travel, crashes cost the U.S. $230.6 billion per year, or an average of $820 per person ( Road Crash Statistics ). So, now imagine a world in where you feel safe to drive any time of the day. Imagine getting into a car and not worrying about driving alongside drunk drivers, drivers who are exhausted, or distracted drivers who are on their phones. Our technology has advanced significantly and it only continues advancing. Waymo, a small project that was launched by Google started exploring the idea of a self driven car. Self driven cars can be beneficial to our society because they will lower traffic while improving safety, lower the death toll in car accidents, and will be environmental friendly. If we start using self driving cars our society will become less worried about risking their lives and people would not be so afraid to get to their destination. First and foremost, with self driven cars having quicker reflexes than humans they will be less likely to make the silly mistakes most humans make which will improve traffic congestion and safety. Chris Urmson, the director of the self driving car project at Google in a blog post says, We have improved our software so it can detect hundreds of distinct objects simultaneously pedestrians, buses, a stop sign held up by a crossing guard, or a cyclist making gestures that indicate a possible turn (Hustad). With driverless cars being this smart, it is okay to get distracted or to make that important business call. These self driving cars are aware like no other and can detect hundreds of objects. It is a little harsh to say, but driverless cars might just pay more attention to the road than a human can because it never gets tired nor distracted. Humans may decide for themselves what they eat for breakfast on a day to day basis, but in the big scheme of things it is actually God who makes their decisions for them. to realize for the first time how majestically indifferent most reality is to man, and who perhaps abandons his religion on that account, may at that moment be having his first genuinely religious experience (81).God allows humans to make their own decisions, but by making their ultimate ones He is able to guide them back to ... Afraid of your heartbeat? Or the eyes of strangers! Afraid of breathing? Afraid of not breathing? (Williams 25). With fear and paranoia comes the issue of trust, who can Williams trust? The answer is simple, trust no one. The issue of trust is topic that is covered in the play and best described when Marguerite says, We have to distrust each other. Vaccines And Its Effects On The Disease Before vaccines were invented, whenever an individual contracted a disease, it would easily spread to the people who were in contact with the individual. Many became carriers of the disease, resulting in an outbreak. No one was immune from the disease, thus making the vast majority a suitable host for the pathogen. In 1796, British physician Edward Jenner created the first vaccination for smallpox by applying matters of fresh cowpox lesions on an infected eight years old s hand (Riedel 2005). The fundamental principle behind vaccineis by injecting an antigen (usually a killed or weakened bacteria cell) into a host body; the antigen will imitate an infection and attack the host body. However, since the antigen is weakened or dead before being administered, it will not make the body sick. The antigen triggers the immune systemto produce T lymphocytes1, B lymphocytes2 and antibodies to attack the affected cells, as though the body was infected with a disease. In the future, when the vaccinated individual encounters the disease, his or her immune system will recognize the pathogen and immediately produce the needed antibodies to fight it, preventing the individual from infected ( Understanding How Vaccines Work 2013). When the vast majority of the population is vaccinated, it results in herd immunity, a form of indirect protection against infectious disease. Vaccination decreases ...
