The Merchant Of Death Story Arc
The Merchant of Death story arc continues to mirror that of the one developed by George Lucas.
While the entirety of Episode IV: A New Hope could be categorized as a completion of Hero s
Journey, to better understand Luke Skywalker s transition from farm boy to Jedi Knight, all the
sequels of the Star Wars saga can be explored to create a more unified representation. In Episode V:
The Empire Strikes Back, Luke is deployed on the barren planet Hoth serving the Rebel Alliance
when he is called on by Ben Kenobi s spirit; he instructs Skywalker to travel to the Dagobah system to
complete his Jedi training. Amidst a Rebel retreat after an attack from the Galactic Empire, Luke
travels to his intended star system with the goal in mind of finding another master. Eventually, crash
landing in the swamp ridden planet of Dagobah, Luke encounters a seemingly meager creature who
pesters him to the point of frustration, only to find out the individual was Jedi Master Yoda. After
consulting the protagonist s former instructor, Yoda dismissively accepts Luke as his padawan learner.
Though Luke had received training from Obi Wan, his knowledge, and training in the use of Force
was limited, therefor constraining full potential. Even with the guidance from a Master Jedi, he
continuously failed his master s obscure tests, which can be attributed to Luke s lack of faith in
himself. This mentality facilitated his uncertainty and frustration to the point where even Yoda had
doubts on his legitimacy

Observation Of Observing A Teacher
I had the privilege of observing a teacher at my church pre k classroom on Wednesday the 6th of
December 2017. Ms. Janet is a teacher at Shiloh Elementary and she always have her lesson for her
classroom ready and presented in a well manner. I introduced myself to her and her classroom and was
greeted and given a sit by the corner of the classroom. She gets her students up for physical warm up,
they all went to stand on their assigned spot for their daily routine.
Ms. Janet play Ants in my Pants CD for her students, it was an action Cd, whereby they will follow as
the musical song in going on. She has a whistle blower in her mouth, she blows it whenever she wants
the student to start or stop what they are doing. The warm lasted for 30 minutes and they all went to
their table to sit.
Ms. Janet distributed a plain sheet of paper for all the student and put a bowl of pencils and crayons on
each table. Has she walked round each table, I had the awareness of the students changing their sit and
peering up with their group. The students respond to her very well and they get along with her. Listen
to her during activity time and work together with their group without any disturbance. Before the
activity begins, she showed the students what she is expecting from them at the end of the activity.
She was very calm and use different methods of teaching her students.
I noticed, she was moving around each table to ask them if they need any help for her, and ask one or
two questions on

Crabs In Delaware Bay
Each spring, the Delaware Bay becomes the site of one of the most spectacular and ancient
phenomena in the natural world: the spawning of horseshoe crabs and the flocking of ravenous
shorebirds that depend on them. On moonlit nights in May and June, thousands of the crabs crawl
ashore on Delaware Bay beaches at high tide to lay eggs, as they have for 450 million years. The crabs
are sometimes so dense that the water s edge looks like a road paved with brown shells. WHY
COUNT THE CRABS? Knowing how many horseshoe crabs there are helps fisheries managers
develop effective policy for managing populations. You can help by volunteering to count the crabs in
May and June. To help with the crab survey, register with the Delaware Department of

Tennessee Nurses Association And The Health Of A Population
Tennessee Nurses Association

Tennessee Nurses Association
In the United States, there are numerous organizations in which are geared toward advocating for
nurses and the health of a population. As a future nurse, it is enlightening and motivating to see
programs created for the purpose of nurse advocacy. According to Sills (2014), advocacy can be
described as any action that speaks in favor of, recommends, argues for a cause, supports or defends,
or pleads on behalf of others (Para. 2). By supporting and making recommendations, these groups can
work together to better the nursing career field as well as the health of a population. The Tennessee ...

Sullivan s article, the TNA members express their gratitude towards the legislative powers for their
consideration and attempt to modify a recently passed bill. This bill was aimed towards increasing
disciplinary action towards a person assaulting a health care provider. The Tennessee Nurses
Association wished for this increase in discipline to apply to every individual, not just a health care
provider. Sullivan said, TNA would like to thank Representative Bob Bibb and Senator Diane Black
for their attempt to better protect health care workers (para. 4). This statement displays the desire and
attempt of the TNA to advocate for not only the nurses, but also the entire population. The Tennessee
Nurses Association has a goal to enhance nurse advocacy. For a nurse to practice advocacy for
patients, one must understand the importance. Research had to be done to determine what the nurses
were expected to advocate for their patients. Choi, Pin Pin, and Mei che Pang (2014) conducted a
study to discover how the nurses integrate the advocacy. Choi, Pin pin, Cheung, and Mei che Pang s
discovered that nurses are a huge part of recognizing safety concerns and health changes for patients
throughout their hospital stay (Para. 5). TNA Meeting

Resistance to Change Essay
Resistance to Change
Change in a business is inevitable and typically only the strongest thrive. With a fluctuating economy
and constant technological advancements, organizations are expected to adapt in order to survive.
When a business is posed with an issue or change, it must develop new business and strategy
structures and implements those developments throughout the entire company. Communication,
education and participation are all required for a change model to be successful. Though change and
adaptation may be needed to better the company, with implementation of change comes resistance.
Most companies face resistance on an organizational and individual level during a transition.
However, it is how the company is able to overcome ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Employees who feel pushed out of their comfort zone may also resist change, due to the unfamiliarity
of new implications or managers. The fear of uncertainties due to the lack of communication can also
lead to resistance to change on an individual level. If employees are not informed of the needs of the
change then the fear of the unknown can cause resistance. Personal impact and fear of change are not
the only causes of resistance by individuals during a change to business practices. The lack of respect
and negative attitudes can also lead to employees resisting business change. If an employee lacks
respect or has a negative attitude towards a person or department leading the change, then there are
more likely to oppose the new ideas being implemented. Poor communication greatly impacts
individuals accepted to new practices in a company. Typically if an employee is given new behaviors
to adopt, but is given no reason, then that employee may reject the change. Upper management must
effectively relate the value, need and benefit of the change to help get employees on board with new
changes. The lack of individual input can also lead to resistance. Some individuals feel the need to be
included in new ideas. When employees are not asked to be involved in changes, they may lack the
vision of importance or will to change. A heavier workload can also cause opposition among
employees. Employees may not embrace more systems and requirements needed

Impact Of Deregulation On The Trucking Industry
Deregulation And It s Impact On The Trucking Industry
The Trucking Industry is a vital component of commerce in the United States largely because such a
huge portion of all the goods transported in the United States moves by truck. 68.5 percent of all the
freight transportation tonnage moved in the United States according to Costello, B. (2013); and
trucking accounts for 84 percent of all revenue spent moving freight in the transportation industry
according to Bennett, A. (2010). Truck drivers facilitate one of the modes in intermodal transportation
that has in effect created a spatial bridge across the United States. Trucks are the only mode of freight

compliance with the new law. In 1935 the Motor Carrier Act was passed to regulate the trucking
industry due to pressure from the railroads. In 1980 a subsequent Motor Carrier act was passed to
deregulate the trucking industry. This laid the path for many trucking companies to enter the market.
In 1994 the Trucking Industry Regulatory Reform Act was passed; motor carriers were no longer
required to submit tariffs with the Interstate Commerce Commission. In 1995 the Interstate Commerce
Commission Termination Act was passed. It eliminated the ICC and created what is known today as
the Surface Transportation board. In addition to these regulatory acts that have been passed, there have

Atlanta Exposition Speech
Outside Reading Assignment One
The Atlanta Exposition Speech by Booker T. Washington, The Talented Tenth but W.E.B. DuBois, and
The Negro s Place in American Life at the Present Day by T. Thomas Fortune were written during the
end of the nineteenth century when African Americans were faced with great challenges on a range of
different levels. These documents are very like one another considering they are all addressing the
same issues, but I also feel like each of them are unique from one another because of the person who
wrote them. Washington focuses more on an industrial education so the blacks can go to school. He
has the whites to believe that it will also affect them and make things better for them at the time and

Thomas Fortune has more of gradualism approach to it. He is more focused on getting the attention
for the white audience and get the respect from them. Fortune asks, What is the Negro s place in
American life at the present day? (2). He says that the answer depends on the point of view of the
person and I greatly agree with that statement because I could believe completely differently from the
person sitting directly beside me on the situation. Sadly, blacks and whites were not always treated the
same way and still aren t always treated in the same ways today either. Fortune states, There can be no
healthy growth in the life of race or a nation without a self reliant spirit animating the whole body...
(4). I feel like this statement is something that is important in this speech. It touches on how there is
nothing healthy about not having equal rights between whites and blacks. Few blacks can trace back
their ancestors as easily as it for whites, because they don t have an ancestry. This made it very hard
on them because, unlike the whites, they would have had nothing to fall back on. Whites just had it a
lot easier and honestly still do. People believe that there isn t any more racism, but it s very hard for
me to believe that after so many years of this occurring for it to just completely stop. In my opinion,
giving blacks the rights that they deserve will make things differently because

Lingua franca is defined as a language that is adopted as a common language between speakers whose
native languages are different ( lingua franca . 2016. Oxford Dictionaries.com.

Some say that Mandarin is the future lingua franca as being the most populous nation, China, has
always been a force to be reckoned. However, although there are a higher amount of native Mandarin
speakers compared to native English speakers, there are 800 million people who speak English as their
second language compared to 500 million that speaks Mandarin as their second language (Mercer,

(Seidlhofer, 2008) This is because English is chosen as the language of choice when communicating

The Importance Of Parent And Family Involvement In Education
There are many issues discussed when it comes to education including testing, school accountability,
teacher proficiency, and much more. There are many initiatives, programs, and reforms being
implemented to try to improve education outcomes for students. While the school, administration, and
teachers are an important part of student education, there is also another vital item needed to
encourage and ensure student learning: parent or family involvement in their child s education.
There are countless positive associations between parent and family engagement and student academic
confidence and success. Many organizations, including the National Parent Teacher Alliance (PTA)
and Parents for Public Schools (PPS), work to encourage parents and families take on an active role in
supporting and reinforcing their child s education. The PTA website gives many parent guides to
support and direct engagement. Their guide Making Sure Your Child Gets the Education They
Deserve advises parents to have high expectations of school buildings and equipment as well as
initiate and maintain strong contact with their child s teacher (pta.org). The PPS websites gives similar
advice to parents and families stating, School success takes great leadership, effective teachers and
engaged parents. We believe that parents are an essential education partner from the moment their
children are born (2017).
Many families face obstacles to engaging and participating in their child s education

If either of those were not up to standards, then the whole business model would collapse and prove to
be unsuccessful. Some professors would chose based on which publisher they favorites the most or
had been loyal to in the previous years. Other professors wanted cheaper books so that their students
would not be required to pay more and have a higher chance of actually purchasing the material.
Another trend Lindsol analyzed was that most professors were unhappy with their book selection after
purchasing the book and using it for courses because the material was either outdated or not relevant
anymore with the school s curriculum. In order to enter the market successfully, Lindsol realized that
it would be very difficult due to the fact that original editorial business model had been successful for

the shift publishers made from hard copy to electronic PDF files. The main reasons collected by
college student surveys was that the devices used to read the books were cumbersome to use, they
lacked tools like highlighting, and they preferred having a physical hard copy of the books for them to

Thursday Night Nachos Essay
On September 21, September 28 and October 5, my friends and I wanted to watch Thursday Night
Football, so we got together and met at Willy McCoys in Champlin. The three times that I went, the
drinks were astounding, and at a cut rate price, the waitress staff was friendly and also the atmosphere
in the restaurant was welcoming and laid back. Unfortunately, the quality of the food that I ordered
was abysmal.
I ordered nachos that are part of the Thursday night half price app special, the three times that I went
to Willy McCoys. I ordered extra cheese and extra beef on my nachos. When the nachos were
delivered to me by the waitress, the chips were cooked perfectly. I am disappointed with the quality of
the food because a majority of the beef was cold and most of the cheese was unmelted. I assumed that
the cook had an off day , or that there was a malfunction with a cooking equipment. So, on September
28 and October 5, I had my friends order nachos with extra cheese and beef. They as well received

What Is The Main Point Of The Return Of Martin Guerre
The Return of Martin Guerre by Natalie Davis a return that some may say focuses a little too much on
the touch of the and skewers into a romance and that would be the perspective of Robert Finlay.
Although Finlay does bring up some very key and valid points about The Return of Martin Guerre but
I do feel that Davis over all in both of her argument best describes what would happen. Starters Davis
is right in saying that Bertrande knew that the 1st Martin that arrived was not her husband. When she
saw him she, however she recoiled in surprise. Not until he had spoken to her affectionately,
reminding her of things they had done in and talked about, specifically mentioning the white hosen in

Well obviously Bertrande and Arnaud du Tilh had intercourse since they conceived a child. Even that
proverb is not uniquely pertinent, for, in the conditions of sexual intercourse in peasant households of
preindustrial Europe the couple clothed, in the darkened house, amid the cold and dirt, surrounded by
livestock and relatives any wife of Artigat might equally well have regarded her bedmate with the
jaded perspective expressed in the notorious masculine slur, De nuit tous chats son gris. (Robert
Finlay pg559) I have a difficult time with some of this because if this where all to be true which I m
sure he is exaggerating a little bit I bet a donkey wasn t sharing the bet with them. I do bet they
probably had dirt floors and it probably was a little cold but that doesn t exclude her from knowing
that he was not her husband because every person is different granted she hasn t been with her real
husband in a very long time but I m pretty sure she would know the touch of a man. I am for sure
going to have to agree with Davis on this you get older but your connection as husband and wife
doesn t change that s what I think Davis is really trying to point out in the book is that as husband and
wife even if it where only a few times together they would still remember those the rest of there lives.

Red Lobster s Ethical Dilemma Term Paper
Gerry Mullen, CEO of Red Lobster restaurants, has been faced with a dilemma. He recently received
an email from Terry Modotti, Vice President for Public Relations concerning the lobster retrieval in La
Mosquitia, also known as the Mosquito Coast. The article states that many of the young working men
are being killed and maimed to make lobsters available at cheap process to consumers in the United
States. The men, known as buzos, must dive up to 130 feet for lobster, and face dangerous

Another disadvantage of implementing this option would be that net earnings would decrease due to a
decrease in consumers, and shareholders will be angered by the decreasing figures of the company.
With all of the negativity being placed upon the company as a result of this option, a bad light would
be shown on the CEO and the company, especially since Gerry is relatively new. Since there are
clearly more disadvantages than advantages for Gerry and Red Lobster by exercising this option, I
would advise Gerry to further pursue other options. Another option with which Gerry could
investigate would be for Red Lobster to offer to pay a higher price for lobster to boat companies in the
Mosquito Coast in order for the divers to receive a higher salary cut. A possible advantage to this is
that it would provide a better living environment for the divers. It is stated in the article that after the
sacabuzos (middlemen), boat captains, and fish processors take their share of the money, what remains
for the buzos is a mere $2 per pound of lobster fetched. Within a two week time period, this rate will
amount to about $300. If the divers are trying to support families, $300 for two weeks is quite meager.
By increasing the price that Red Lobster is willing to pay for wholesale lobster, the divers will benefit
considerably due to a higher salary. Another advantage to a higher salary would mean that more
individuals would be inclined to become divers,

Carlos Evo Morales Aym The President Of Bolivia
Juan Evo Morales Ayma is the current president of Bolivia, elected on December 2005, and is running

His family was forced to move, and resettled in the Chapare region. He went to college at the Agrarian
Humanistic Technical Institute of Orinoca, attending all but the last year. In his twenties, Morales
became a cocalero, or coca leaf grower. Coca leaves are a key ingredient in manufacturing cocaine.
Coca in Bolivia is perfectly legal, as it was used by Aymaras and Quechuas as a appetite queller when
in a food shortage, and for remedies to altitude sickness. The plant is also religiously important. When
Morales was a coca leaf farmer, most of the coca being exported from Bolivia was to the United
States, for cocaine production. In 1985, Morales became a prominent figure in his local farmers union,
dubbed San Francisco. He then rose to the top of an umbrella of six unions, which had all become
more active in fighting US government led efforts to eradicate the coca plant, because of cocaine
consumption back in the States. The coca unions allied to fight this, because the only plant that would
grow in Bolivia s environment was the coca plant. Morales led marches, met with officials from the
government, and became the target of harassment. He was also jailed for it. The coca unions and his
childhood placed Morales into a position for politics in the future.

A good teacher has not only a knowledge of early childhood education, but the ability to empathize

To be a great teacher, it means that you have to be close, and you have to be observing while listening

A narrative is the story itself and generic features are elements expected to be contained within a

In a traditional narrative we expect to see characters that have prominent roles in the film to be in the
opening sequence; also you d expect the story contained in the opening sequence to be followed up.
This is not the case in Pulp Fiction. We leave the opening scene in a moment of action. Therefore we
are set up with the expectation of what happens next? In a traditional linear narrative this is a question
which is likely to be answered. However in Pulp Fiction the next scene contains different characters
and a different plot. We do not return to the opening story till the end of the film.
The next scene contains the opening credits. The music is upbeat and compliments the emotional
intensity of the two thieves situation. The music also suggests we are still with the two thieves story.
In the middle of the title track we hear a radio changing dial and a new track plays Jungle Boogie.
This suggests unpredictability. This is also a subversion of traditions in itself as it doesn t happen in
any other film.
We enter the next scene mid way into a conversation. We do not know of they re related to the couple

Mary Queen Of Scots
Mary Queen of Scots born 1542 to the beautiful Queen Mary of Guise. Better known as Mary Stuart
before her crowning and the granddaughter of Margaret Tudor and the last living descendent of the
Tudor Stuart alliance forged by King Henry VII of England. Besides being set queen on the day of
birth, from that point on the queen lived in a fairly happy childhood (Fraser 20). The queen had a very
normal childhood but she was unaware of the challenges that laid ahead of her. Everyone knew that
Mary was going to be a very successful leader once she arrived in France in 1548 being given the title
as the most perfect child by Henri II her soon to be father in law (Wilkinson). The queen had a very
impactful lifestyle using her notable beauty and royal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the more sensitive side of this royal marriage for the queen was regardless if the two newly
introduced children liked one another or not the marriage and family alliance would continue on
(Fraser 20). Soon after the marriage during the queen s early teenage years her intended life long
partner passed away in 1560 (Fraser 21). Soon after the passing of Queen Mary s first acquainted
husband she soon remarried to a very profound hair to royalty. Queen Mary at the time was unaware
of her future husband s arrival to Scotland until she exclaimed the fine young man as the lustiest and
the best proportioned long man that she had seen. And after continuous gazes upon his handsome
features it was clear the queen was drastically in love. Henry Stewart or more commonly known as
Lord Darnley. Henry Darnley and the queen firmly introduced themselves in Edinburgh, Scotland in
the year 1564 just a few months after Lord Darnley had arrived in Scotland. The lord was a love at
first sight for the her, standing tall and handsome she noticed but his dedication to the Roman Catholic
religion is what especially caught the queens eye. Queen Mary at the time was now widowed for a
little over ten years and was in desperate need for the soul mate she dreamed for. Within the same
month of meeting one another the banns of marriage were called and just a few days later the gossips
were finally silenced and the two were proclaimed that Scotland would soon be ruled by the new King
and Queen of Scots. Just upon the next rising sun the two would be set together as one. Singing,
dancing, and feasting carried on all through the day and night for the next three nights in celebration
for the newly wed couple, and their friends and family. After the past fun

Looking for Alibrandi Expository Essay
From the moment we are put into our parents arms, they begin to shape our identity. Our appearance,
thoughts and actions are developed from them and what they believe is right and wrong. However
unfair as it may seem at times, everything done is based on their past experiences, the culture we are
born into and ultimately done for our own well being.
Never change who you are to please people , There is nothing you can t do and We are proud of you
no matter what are three very common phrases used within a family. Parents especially use these
(among many others) to teach their children to be comfortable with who they are so that it is easier for
them to find their place in the world. Even when we are merely a thought, our ... Show more content

Although this may be true to an extent, our culture moulds us into respectable and responsible human
beings. Traditions link us to the past generations of our family and give us a better understanding of
our culture in general. As easy as it seems at times, to ignore where you come from and change who
you are, it takes a proud person to be proud of their culture and therefore find their place.
The novel Looking for Alibrandi by Melina Marchetta is a perfect representation of how our family
and culture play an integral part in our journey to discover who we are and what our purpose in this
life is. Seventeen year old Josephine Alibrandi is on a journey to discover who she is and how her past
and present somehow intertwine. Coming from a traditional Italian background, Josie tries to escape
her culture and avoid her family in the process. She desperately wants to become emancipated and
break free from the things and people she believes are holding her back. Due to this perception, she is
holding herself back and restricting her mental and emotional development. Towards the end of the
novel, Josie realises that her family and culture is a huge part of her and if she lets that go, she is
saying goodbye to herself; her identity.
To conclude, we must all cherish our family because no matter how bad or good a situation may be,
they will

Migrant Workers In The 1930s And Today
People work very hard to provide the fresh produce that can be so easily purchased at the grocery
store. This is explained in the articles: The Migrant Experience by Robin A. Fanslow and Young
Migrant Workers Toil in U.S. Fields by Karen Fanning. In the 1930s, migrant workers had to go
through some pretty rough times in order to support themselves. Today, migrant workers work
extremely hard to support their families while, at the same time, sending their kids to school.
However, the world in the 1930s was very different than it is today. This makes for some variation
when it comes to what challenges they have had to face. Regardless of these differences, migrant
workers in the 1930s and today have faced similar and different forms of ... Show more content on

In the 1930s and today, migrant workers struggled and struggle to find financial stability. In the 1930s,
the crash of the stock market which lead to the Great Depression left people with practically nothing.
This caused them to become migrants. They would travel all over California following the work. In
the same way, migrant workers today struggle to find the money that they need while still allowing
their children to get an education, so just like in the 1930s, they travel from state to state looking for
work. Another similarity between the two times is the fact that in both cases there it a glimmer of
hope. In the 1930s, after working so hard for years, the economy improved and the workers were able
to settle down and have a better life. Today, programs like MET help the children of migrant worker
families make it through school. If these kids make it all the way through, they will most likely be able
to end the cycle. In contrast to these similarities, there are also some pretty big differences. In the
1930s, migrant workers didn t have to worry about having to juggle working in the fields with school.
Having an education then wasn t as big of a deal as it is now. Today, if workers don t get an education
they will most likely be working in the fields for rest of their lives. Another difference is that today
people don t have to deal with the Dust Bowl. In the 1930s, people lost their homes after they were
covered up with dirt. Today, some of the only that could potentially destroy a home are fires or floods,
but today we have firefighters and insurance. Migrant workers from these two times share some big
similarities, but also have their

The Importance Of Plagiarism In College Students
In short: Don t do it. But in truth, that is not good enough.
I have assigned and graded or had graded by TA s tens of thousands of bits of writing by college
students over the years. A lot of my friends are teachers. My wife is a teacher. I ve seen it all. If you
are a student trying to avoid getting caught plagiarizing, I can help you.
You need to know the following three things. These facts will save you from getting tossed out of
college or having a mark on your high school record.
1) Teachers hate plagiarism more than they hate stepping on puppies and kittens. If there are two
students in a class, and one has plagiarized an assignment and one has crushed some puppies and
kittens, and the teacher only has time to turn one of them it to the administration, they ll turn in the
plagiarizer.
2) There has almost never been a case where a student was proved to have plagiarized something (by
matching the original to the student s paper) where the plagiarism wasn t already blindingly obvious to
the teacher to begin with. In other words, when you plagiarize something, it is always spotted
immediately. If some other student tells you that they got away with it, they are lying to you (like
House says, people always lie) or the teacher chose to not turn them in. Yet.
Given this, you should understand that plagiarism is never a good strategy for improving your grade.
Just don t do it.

Tetanus has many different types of viruses but lockjaw /generalized tetanus and neonatal tetanus are
the most common. None of the tetanus viruses are airborne because tetanus dies off when it interacts
with oxygen. The difference between the two are that lockjaw happens to everybody, while Neonatal
only happens to infants. For example, they are alike because patients will sudden[ly] die due to
unexpected cardiac arrests when they had both of these diseases.(Epidemiology and infection

Parent-Related Study Of Marijuana Essay
There has been an extensive amount of research done on risk factors and marijuana use. Among
adolescents the vast majority of the research has identified five major risk factors associated with
adolescent marijuana use, family relations (parent child attachment), peer associations, substance
abuse programs, gender, and race. Some researchers have found that the family is the best predictor of
adolescent marijuana use, while others claim that peer associations are predictors of adolescent
marijuana use. Others believe that substance abuse programs are the key to deterring adolescent drug
use. The final groups of researchers believe gender and race are the underlining predictors. The
following studies will give a quick overview of the prior research on risk factors and adolescent
marijuana use.
Parent Child Attachment According to Hoffmann (1993) adolescents who suffer from a parental death
or divorce are likely to turn to marijuana to help cope with the stress that has been created. A death or
divorce is extremely detrimental to adolescents because it hinders them from creating or continuing a
bond with their family. A strong family relationship rarely affects adolescent behavior after a negative
event like this occurs. Because attachment has been weakened by a big event, it is very difficult to
regain the family ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Family disruptors such as divorce and remarriage also have particular influences on drug use. Older
adolescents are greatly affected by divorce and remarriage because the family structure has changed.
This tends to make older adolescents look for support systems outside the home. The effects of the
change can cause adolescents to seek out positive or negative relationships with peers. Younger
adolescents are less affected by family disruptors because they do not have the same opportunities or
freedom to look outside the home for support, as do older adolescents

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings poem by Maya Angelou, is similar to the screenplay The Long

her race, she doesn t have many privileges as the white people do. One thing she couldn t do was ride
the bus because of the boycott, if they did ride the bus they had to sit in the back no matter if there was

American Drinking Culture Essay
Often times, when people hear the word college , they visualize a lot of binge drinking. Alcohol does
have an impact on academic performance. After giving you my spiel of information, you may begin to
understand why the graduation rates are higher in Europe than they are in America.
The drinking culture in Europe is a lot different from the drinking culture in the United States. In
America, the drinking culture serves the purpose of getting drunk. The majority of college students in
American don t just casually drink. Instead, they drink as much as they can in order to have the best
time possible. In general, American students don t touch alcohol otherwise. Typically, the most casual
drinking that American students are exposed to are their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Casual drinking is something that is greatly appreciated, no matter where you go. It is normal to have
a pint or two every night at the pub. But if someone in America were to do that, we would accuse them
of being an alcoholic. Although the American drinking culture and the European drinking culture have
vastly different atmospheres, the basic principle of drinking remains the same: you do not have to get
hammered when you drink.
According to the World Health Organization, in many European countries where the drinking age is
18 or younger, teens have more drinking occasions per month, but fewer occasions of dangerous
intoxication than their American counterparts. One in ten of all drinking occasions result in
intoxication in southern European countries, whereas in America, nearly half of all drinking occasions
result in intoxication.
This also leads to problems with exchange students. A culture of casual drinking combined with a
lower drinking age makes it easy for American students to get carried away. The University of
Washington for Psychology of Addictive Behaviors reported that American students typically double
their alcohol consumption while abroad, from an average of four drinks a week to eight. While the
study was unable to determine in what capacity the students drank, the fact remains that the students
in the survey drank more while abroad. This does not come as a surprise, especially considering
American college students have a reputation of drinking heavily in the first

3. How many students eat in school per week?

  • 2. The Merchant Of Death Story Arc The Merchant of Death story arc continues to mirror that of the one developed by George Lucas. While the entirety of Episode IV: A New Hope could be categorized as a completion of Hero s Journey, to better understand Luke Skywalker s transition from farm boy to Jedi Knight, all the sequels of the Star Wars saga can be explored to create a more unified representation. In Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Luke is deployed on the barren planet Hoth serving the Rebel Alliance when he is called on by Ben Kenobi s spirit; he instructs Skywalker to travel to the Dagobah system to complete his Jedi training. Amidst a Rebel retreat after an attack from the Galactic Empire, Luke travels to his intended star system with the goal in mind of finding another master. Eventually, crash landing in the swamp ridden planet of Dagobah, Luke encounters a seemingly meager creature who pesters him to the point of frustration, only to find out the individual was Jedi Master Yoda. After consulting the protagonist s former instructor, Yoda dismissively accepts Luke as his padawan learner. Though Luke had received training from Obi Wan, his knowledge, and training in the use of Force was limited, therefor constraining full potential. Even with the guidance from a Master Jedi, he continuously failed his master s obscure tests, which can be attributed to Luke s lack of faith in himself. This mentality facilitated his uncertainty and frustration to the point where even Yoda had doubts on his legitimacy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Observation Of Observing A Teacher I had the privilege of observing a teacher at my church pre k classroom on Wednesday the 6th of December 2017. Ms. Janet is a teacher at Shiloh Elementary and she always have her lesson for her classroom ready and presented in a well manner. I introduced myself to her and her classroom and was greeted and given a sit by the corner of the classroom. She gets her students up for physical warm up, they all went to stand on their assigned spot for their daily routine. Ms. Janet play Ants in my Pants CD for her students, it was an action Cd, whereby they will follow as the musical song in going on. She has a whistle blower in her mouth, she blows it whenever she wants the student to start or stop what they are doing. The warm lasted for 30 minutes and they all went to their table to sit. Ms. Janet distributed a plain sheet of paper for all the student and put a bowl of pencils and crayons on each table. Has she walked round each table, I had the awareness of the students changing their sit and peering up with their group. The students respond to her very well and they get along with her. Listen to her during activity time and work together with their group without any disturbance. Before the activity begins, she showed the students what she is expecting from them at the end of the activity. She was very calm and use different methods of teaching her students. I noticed, she was moving around each table to ask them if they need any help for her, and ask one or two questions on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Crabs In Delaware Bay Each spring, the Delaware Bay becomes the site of one of the most spectacular and ancient phenomena in the natural world: the spawning of horseshoe crabs and the flocking of ravenous shorebirds that depend on them. On moonlit nights in May and June, thousands of the crabs crawl ashore on Delaware Bay beaches at high tide to lay eggs, as they have for 450 million years. The crabs are sometimes so dense that the water s edge looks like a road paved with brown shells. WHY COUNT THE CRABS? Knowing how many horseshoe crabs there are helps fisheries managers develop effective policy for managing populations. You can help by volunteering to count the crabs in May and June. To help with the crab survey, register with the Delaware Department of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Tennessee Nurses Association And The Health Of A Population Tennessee Nurses Association Erin Stansberry Lincoln Memorial University September 29th, 2014 Tennessee Nurses Association In the United States, there are numerous organizations in which are geared toward advocating for nurses and the health of a population. As a future nurse, it is enlightening and motivating to see programs created for the purpose of nurse advocacy. According to Sills (2014), advocacy can be described as any action that speaks in favor of, recommends, argues for a cause, supports or defends, or pleads on behalf of others (Para. 2). By supporting and making recommendations, these groups can work together to better the nursing career field as well as the health of a population. The Tennessee ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sullivan s article, the TNA members express their gratitude towards the legislative powers for their consideration and attempt to modify a recently passed bill. This bill was aimed towards increasing disciplinary action towards a person assaulting a health care provider. The Tennessee Nurses Association wished for this increase in discipline to apply to every individual, not just a health care provider. Sullivan said, TNA would like to thank Representative Bob Bibb and Senator Diane Black for their attempt to better protect health care workers (para. 4). This statement displays the desire and attempt of the TNA to advocate for not only the nurses, but also the entire population. The Tennessee Nurses Association has a goal to enhance nurse advocacy. For a nurse to practice advocacy for patients, one must understand the importance. Research had to be done to determine what the nurses were expected to advocate for their patients. Choi, Pin Pin, and Mei che Pang (2014) conducted a study to discover how the nurses integrate the advocacy. Choi, Pin pin, Cheung, and Mei che Pang s discovered that nurses are a huge part of recognizing safety concerns and health changes for patients throughout their hospital stay (Para. 5). With a fluctuating economy and constant technological advancements, organizations are expected to adapt in order to survive. When a business is posed with an issue or change, it must develop new business and strategy structures and implements those developments throughout the entire company. Communication, education and participation are all required for a change model to be successful. Though change and adaptation may be needed to better the company, with implementation of change comes resistance. Employees who feel pushed out of their comfort zone may also resist change, due to the unfamiliarity of new implications or managers. The fear of uncertainties due to the lack of communication can also lead to resistance to change on an individual level. If employees are not informed of the needs of the change then the fear of the unknown can cause resistance. Personal impact and fear of change are not the only causes of resistance by individuals during a change to business practices. The lack of respect and negative attitudes can also lead to employees resisting business change. If an employee lacks respect or has a negative attitude towards a person or department leading the change, then there are more likely to oppose the new ideas being implemented. Poor communication greatly impacts individuals accepted to new practices in a company. Typically if an employee is given new behaviors to adopt, but is given no reason, then that employee may reject the change. Upper management must effectively relate the value, need and benefit of the change to help get employees on board with new changes. The lack of individual input can also lead to resistance. Some individuals feel the need to be included in new ideas. When employees are not asked to be involved in changes, they may lack the vision of importance or will to change. A heavier workload can also cause opposition among employees. Employees may not embrace more systems and requirements needed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

DuBois, and The Negro s Place in American Life at the Present Day by T. Thomas Fortune were written during the end of the nineteenth century when African Americans were faced with great challenges on a range of different levels. These documents are very like one another considering they are all addressing the same issues, but I also feel like each of them are unique from one another because of the person who wrote them. Thomas Fortune has more of gradualism approach to it. He is more focused on getting the attention for the white audience and get the respect from them. Fortune asks, What is the Negro s place in American life at the present day? (2). He says that the answer depends on the point of view of the person and I greatly agree with that statement because I could believe completely differently from the person sitting directly beside me on the situation. Sadly, blacks and whites were not always treated the same way and still aren t always treated in the same ways today either. Fortune states, There can be no healthy growth in the life of race or a nation without a self reliant spirit animating the whole body... (4). I feel like this statement is something that is important in this speech. It touches on how there is nothing healthy about not having equal rights between whites and blacks. Few blacks can trace back their ancestors as easily as it for whites, because they don t have an ancestry. This made it very hard on them because, unlike the whites, they would have had nothing to fall back on. Whites just had it a lot easier and honestly still do. People believe that there isn t any more racism, but it s very hard for me to believe that after so many years of this occurring for it to just completely stop. In her book The Phonology of English as an International Language (2000), Jenkins stated that the most universally used lingua franca is English, and there are more non native English speakers compared to native English speakers. However, although there are a higher amount of native Mandarin speakers compared to native English speakers, there are 800 million people who speak English as their second language compared to 500 million that speaks Mandarin as their second language (Mercer, 2015). In fact, for the majority users worldwide English is not their first language and a vast proportion of verbal exchange in English does not involve any native speakers of the language at all. (Seidlhofer, 2008) This is because English is chosen as the language of choice when communicating with the world while Mandarin is only used to communicate around South East Asia. There are many initiatives, programs, and reforms being implemented to try to improve education outcomes for students. While the school, administration, and teachers are an important part of student education, there is also another vital item needed to encourage and ensure student learning: parent or family involvement in their child s education. Many organizations, including the National Parent Teacher Alliance (PTA) and Parents for Public Schools (PPS), work to encourage parents and families take on an active role in supporting and reinforcing their child s education. The PTA website gives many parent guides to support and direct engagement. Some professors would chose based on which publisher they favorites the most or had been loyal to in the previous years. Other professors wanted cheaper books so that their students would not be required to pay more and have a higher chance of actually purchasing the material. Another trend Lindsol analyzed was that most professors were unhappy with their book selection after purchasing the book and using it for courses because the material was either outdated or not relevant anymore with the school s curriculum. In order to enter the market successfully, Lindsol realized that it would be very difficult due to the fact that original editorial business model had been successful for forty years but had failed to stay current with today s technology. Crafting the Strategy Lindsol had to identify problems in the industry and realized that there were several core reasons students did not like the shift publishers made from hard copy to electronic PDF files. The three times that I went, the drinks were astounding, and at a cut rate price, the waitress staff was friendly and also the atmosphere in the restaurant was welcoming and laid back. Unfortunately, the quality of the food that I ordered was abysmal. I ordered nachos that are part of the Thursday night half price app special, the three times that I went to Willy McCoys. I ordered extra cheese and extra beef on my nachos. When the nachos were delivered to me by the waitress, the chips were cooked perfectly. I am disappointed with the quality of the food because a majority of the beef was cold and most of the cheese was unmelted. I assumed that the cook had an off day , or that there was a malfunction with a cooking equipment. So, on September 28 and October 5, I had my friends order nachos with extra cheese and beef. They as well received cold beef and unmelted cheese. In my opinion, I would rather have food that is well cooked to ideal temperature, instead of food that is cold and has the potential of getting me sick. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What Is The Main Point Of The Return Of Martin Guerre The Return of Martin Guerre by Natalie Davis a return that some may say focuses a little too much on the touch of the and skewers into a romance and that would be the perspective of Robert Finlay. Although Finlay does bring up some very key and valid points about The Return of Martin Guerre but I do feel that Davis over all in both of her argument best describes what would happen. Starters Davis is right in saying that Bertrande knew that the 1st Martin that arrived was not her husband. When she saw him she, however she recoiled in surprise. Not until he had spoken to her affectionately, reminding her of things they had done in and talked about, specifically mentioning the white hosen in the trunk, did she fall upon his neck and kiss him; ... Even that proverb is not uniquely pertinent, for, in the conditions of sexual intercourse in peasant households of preindustrial Europe the couple clothed, in the darkened house, amid the cold and dirt, surrounded by livestock and relatives any wife of Artigat might equally well have regarded her bedmate with the jaded perspective expressed in the notorious masculine slur, De nuit tous chats son gris. (Robert Finlay pg559) I have a difficult time with some of this because if this where all to be true which I m sure he is exaggerating a little bit I bet a donkey wasn t sharing the bet with them. I do bet they probably had dirt floors and it probably was a little cold but that doesn t exclude her from knowing that he was not her husband because every person is different granted she hasn t been with her real husband in a very long time but I m pretty sure she would know the touch of a man. I am for sure going to have to agree with Davis on this you get older but your connection as husband and wife doesn t change that s what I think Davis is really trying to point out in the book is that as husband and wife even if it where only a few times together they would still remember those the rest of there lives. He recently received an email from Terry Modotti, Vice President for Public Relations concerning the lobster retrieval in La Mosquitia, also known as the Mosquito Coast. The article states that many of the young working men are being killed and maimed to make lobsters available at cheap process to consumers in the United States. The men, known as buzos, must dive up to 130 feet for lobster, and face dangerous decompression sickness which begins with paralysis and ends in a slow death. Another disadvantage of implementing this option would be that net earnings would decrease due to a decrease in consumers, and shareholders will be angered by the decreasing figures of the company. With all of the negativity being placed upon the company as a result of this option, a bad light would be shown on the CEO and the company, especially since Gerry is relatively new. Since there are clearly more disadvantages than advantages for Gerry and Red Lobster by exercising this option, I would advise Gerry to further pursue other options. Another option with which Gerry could investigate would be for Red Lobster to offer to pay a higher price for lobster to boat companies in the Mosquito Coast in order for the divers to receive a higher salary cut. A possible advantage to this is that it would provide a better living environment for the divers. It is stated in the article that after the sacabuzos (middlemen), boat captains, and fish processors take their share of the money, what remains for the buzos is a mere $2 per pound of lobster fetched. Within a two week time period, this rate will amount to about $300. If the divers are trying to support families, $300 for two weeks is quite meager. By increasing the price that Red Lobster is willing to pay for wholesale lobster, the divers will benefit considerably due to a higher salary. Another advantage to a higher salary would mean that more individuals would be inclined to become divers, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the 1930s, migrant workers had to go through some pretty rough times in order to support themselves. Today, migrant workers work extremely hard to support their families while, at the same time, sending their kids to school. However, the world in the 1930s was very different than it is today. In the 1930s, the crash of the stock market which lead to the Great Depression left people with practically nothing. This caused them to become migrants. They would travel all over California following the work. In the same way, migrant workers today struggle to find the money that they need while still allowing their children to get an education, so just like in the 1930s, they travel from state to state looking for work. Another similarity between the two times is the fact that in both cases there it a glimmer of hope. In the 1930s, after working so hard for years, the economy improved and the workers were able to settle down and have a better life. Today, programs like MET help the children of migrant worker families make it through school. If these kids make it all the way through, they will most likely be able to end the cycle. In contrast to these similarities, there are also some pretty big differences. In the 1930s, migrant workers didn t have to worry about having to juggle working in the fields with school. Having an education then wasn t as big of a deal as it is now. Today, if workers don t get an education they will most likely be working in the fields for rest of their lives. • 25. The Importance Of Plagiarism In College Students In short: Don t do it. But in truth, that is not good enough. I have assigned and graded or had graded by TA s tens of thousands of bits of writing by college students over the years. A lot of my friends are teachers. My wife is a teacher. I ve seen it all. If you are a student trying to avoid getting caught plagiarizing, I can help you. You need to know the following three things. These facts will save you from getting tossed out of college or having a mark on your high school record. 1) Teachers hate plagiarism more than they hate stepping on puppies and kittens. If there are two students in a class, and one has plagiarized an assignment and one has crushed some puppies and kittens, and the teacher only has time to turn one of them it to the administration, they ll turn in the plagiarizer. 2) There has almost never been a case where a student was proved to have plagiarized something (by matching the original to the student s paper) where the plagiarism wasn t already blindingly obvious to the teacher to begin with. In other words, when you plagiarize something, it is always spotted immediately. If some other student tells you that they got away with it, they are lying to you (like House says, people always lie) or the teacher chose to not turn them in. Yet. Given this, you should understand that plagiarism is never a good strategy for improving your grade. Just don t do it. ________________________________ Check out our new science podcast, Ikonokast. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Among adolescents the vast majority of the research has identified five major risk factors associated with adolescent marijuana use, family relations (parent child attachment), peer associations, substance abuse programs, gender, and race. Some researchers have found that the family is the best predictor of adolescent marijuana use, while others claim that peer associations are predictors of adolescent marijuana use. Others believe that substance abuse programs are the key to deterring adolescent drug use. The final groups of researchers believe gender and race are the underlining predictors. The following studies will give a quick overview of the prior research on risk factors and adolescent marijuana use. Parent Child Attachment According to Hoffmann (1993) adolescents who suffer from a parental death or divorce are likely to turn to marijuana to help cope with the stress that has been created. Explanations would change but may include the need to discover if the lunches were different and how many students really eat school lunch, would student eat school lunch? 8. Given the new school lunch menu, how many students would like the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Occasionally uncommon instances are represented by outliers. More robust methods of investigation when conducting the study for the population need to be used. The next method is to transform your data using box plot or histograms. This may serve other functions at the same time. It may help cope with outliers, although it probably should not be used simply because there s an outlier. A histogram is especially useful when there exists large number pf observations. The range of values in types breaks, and show percentage or just the count of the observations that fall into each ...
