The Internal Revenue Service And The Current Tax Code
I am Michael Bull, a constituent of yours living in Murfreesboro, TN. I am part of a local citizen
s task force seeking reform of the Internal Revenue Service and the current tax code. No one likes
paying taxes, yet most acknowledge the necessity for them; and we all receive benefits from these
taxes in one form or another. However, the massive Internal Revenue Serviceand the overwhelming
number of taxlaws and their complexity place undue burden on most tax payers and filers.
Issue Background
For corporations and individual tax filers alike, filing one s taxes is no small feat due to the tax
code s complexity and volume. The number of laws, exclusions, exemptions, credits, taxes,
deductions, and revisions are more than any one person ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reforming the US tax code into a document a fraction of its current size would help elevate this
type of abuse and make it more difficult for people to misuse its content for their own personal
agenda. Rogue agents are not the only ones who abuse this monstrosity, the more tax savvy a
filer is, the better they are at tax avoidance with so many area to benefit. Whereas a less
proficient tax filer or one who cannot afford a professional to prepare their taxes are likely to
lose out on deductions or credits they may have otherwise been able to claim had they known
about them. Also, with so many parts to the tax code coupled with the number of tax filers, it is
impossible to audit are tax returns filed by the shrinking size of the Internal Revenue Service
employees. This allows for more criminals to commit fraud in their filings.
Another area of concern for us is the amount of time and money spent annually on filing tax
returns to ensure compliance of a document of this magnitude. According to the Internal Revenue
Service s own web site in a report presented to Congress 9 Jan. 2013 by the National Taxpayer
Advocate Delivers Annual Report to Congress; Focuses on Tax Reform, IRS Funding, and Identity
Theft, individuals and businesses spend about 6.1 billion hours a year complying with tax filing
requirements. That is equivalent to more than 3 million people working

Wonder Is An Aesthetic Experience
Wonder is an aesthetic emotion. Aesthetic emotions are emotions that are felt during aesthetic
activity or appreciation.
These emotions may be of the everyday variety (such as fear, wonder or sympathy) or may be
specific to aesthetic contexts.
The emotion usually constitutes only a part of the overall aesthetic experience, but may play a
more or less definitive function for that state.
2.2.1.Aesthetic Experiences
Aesthetic experience is an exceptional state of mind that is qualitatively distinct from the ordinary
everyday experiences. There is a distinct difference between aesthetic situations and everyday
situations, as well as objects of aesthetic experience and objects of everyday use. (Markoviä,
2012) In an aesthetic experience, there is a psychological process wherein certain focus is given on
a specific object wherein other objects, events, and concerns are subdued. (Cupchik and Winston,
1996) An aesthetic experience strongly engages the subject s mind, particularly with the object of
interest, with a unique kind of subject object relationship, suppressing all other surrounding events
and objects. (OgnjenoviВґc, 1997) A defining feature of aesthetic experience is that it... Show more

Priori experiences color the perception of the aesthetic experience. It is observed that variables of

history or literature known to the speaker greatly affect the aesthetic experience. (Duke,

Clinical Reasoning Model Essay
Incorporating theory into practice is very important aspect in nursing profession. Nurses employ
analytical thinking and reasoning to evaluate health assessments and physical examinations. Core
essences of this concept include cognition, metacognition and discipline specific knowledge
(Simmons, B. 2010). The clinical reasoning model aids nurses to make clinical judgments. In the
scenario of Mrs Alice Palmer, numerous investigation where taken and due to limited information
more subjective data was needed as well as objective data had to be monitored constantly. Effective
clinical reasoning depends upon the nurse s ability to collect the right cues and to take the right
action for the right patient at the right time and for the right reason (Levett Jones, Hoffman,... Show

The application of critical thinking and clinical reasoning are crucial fundamentals in everyday
life of nurse s clinical practice. Like most skills, the more the nurses train, the more natural and
easier it becomes. Encouraging comparisons with similar presentations help learners widen their
differential diagnosis (Pinnock, R., Welch, P. 2014). Critical thinking is a purposeful, goal
directed thinking process that strives to problem solve patient care issues through the use of
clinical reasoning (Estes, M., Calleja, P., Theobald, K., Harvey, T. 2016). Clinical reasoning
whereas is a disciplined, creative and reflective approach used together with critical thinking to
establish potential strategies to assist patients in reaching their desired health goals (Estes, M.,
Calleja, P., Theobald, K., Harvey, T. 2016). Both these skills are vital and failure to grasp and
master these abilities result in adverse patient outcomes such as improper patient care, incorrect
diagnose and inappropriate treatment. In other words, critical thinking and clinical reasoning leads
to critical

Bipolar Disorder, Formerly Known As Manic-Depression, Is
Bipolar disorder, formerly known as manic depression, is a mental disorder. This disorder causes
the individual to experience severe mood swings, from elation to depression. Individuals with
bipolar disorder can experience serious changes in thinking, energy and behaviour. The different
states of those with bipolar experience are referred to as episodes . These episodes can last days,
weeks or months, depending on the severity of the episode. There are three main types of
episodes, they are mania, depressive and psychotic states. Mania describes the state in which the
individual experiences extreme happiness and euphoria, a high of sorts. People who are having a
manic episode display symptoms such as; feeling full of energy, not eating... Show more content on

The exact cause of bipolar disorder is still unknown, however, there are many factors which that
can work together to make it more likely for an individual to develop bipolar disorder. These
factors vary from each person, therefore, one factor that produces the onset of bipolar disorder
may not cause someone else to develop the illness. It is believed there may be a correlation
between genetics and bipolar disorder. Researchers have theorised that there is a genetic
predisposition for the disorder as it tends to run in families, with Kerner stating, the heritability of
bipolar disorder based on concordance rates for bipolar disorder in twin studies has been
estimated to be between 60% and 80%. (Kerner 2014). Despite these figures, other studies have
been inconsistent and inconclusive in proving the linkage. Studies have shown environmental
factors play a major role in the development of bipolar disorder. One of the most significant
environmental factors observed in relation to the onset of bipolar disorder is childhood trauma or
abuse. This can be observed by looking at the study conducted by Alvarez et al which, examined
102 patients with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and schizoaffective disorder and showed that
nearly half (47.5%) of these patients had suffered childhood abuse. (E. Brietzke et al. 2002).
Childhood abuse is a common cause of various mental illnesses and disorders.

The Shawshank Redemption By Frank Darabont Essay
This paper discusses The Shawshank Redemption, a 1994 American movie written and directed
by Frank Darabont, and starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. The movie was chosen
because it tells that vision, strong values and obligation are key factors of personal and
organizational success. The movie tells the story of Andy is a successful banker whose life
changes radically when he is sentenced and punished to life custody for the murder of his wife and
her lover. Indeed, The Shawshank Redemptioninspects a chain of conflicts: guilt and innocence,
cruelty and charity, freedom and imprisonment.
The characters of the movie:
Ellis Boyd Red Redding, the storyteller, a convicted murderer serving a life judgement. Red is a
key figure inside prison, a lifeline to the outside world who can smuggle almost anything into
the prison for a price. Red is a transactional leader. Andy Dufresne, is a banker erroneously
imprisoned for the killing of his wife. He is the main character and the hero of the movie. He is a
transformational leader, intelligent, influential, and inspirational to the group of prisoners. He
embodies the story s strongest theme: Hope. Samuel Norton, one of the custodians. Norton that
forces prisoners to work on chain gains to repair roads and public buildings. Even though he
claims to be a sincere Baptist, he takes bribes from local construction. He uses Andy s financial
proficiency to hide his illegal earnings and therefore refuses to help Andy win a

Lets End the Civil War
Let s end the civil war Let s end the civil war is an article, written in 1962 by Harry Golden a
northern journalist. He wrote this article to highlight the Civil war centennial in the U.S. and the
idea that the centennial committees in the whole of the south, which wanted us to believe that the
civil war is not over. There are still participations in the reengagement of the civil war and some of
the actors still hope that the civil war will be restored. Harry golden thinks that the Americans see
the centennial more as a celebration of the civil war, than a centennial. And that is why one of the
main themes in the article is misunderstanding. It is a misunderstanding between the south and their
view of the centennial. He thinks that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows on the first line in the article (p. 119 ll.1 3) There were more confederate flags sold
during the first year of the civil war centennial (1961) than were sold throughout the South
during the war itself (1861 65) the reason why he wrote this in his article, and why I put it in the
beginning of the article is because he want s to make it clear to the reader that Southerners were
participating more during the centennial than, the actual war. On p.120 ll.38 41 and p. 121 ll. 1
2 Golden writes; once they take the capital, they can force upon the supreme court the decisions
that will restore the old plantations, the crinolines, the dueling pistols, the house on the hill with
smoke coming out the chimney at twilight and little Sambo rolling in laughter under the

he refers to as Sambo (which is a bad world for slaves) that they would lay under the magnolia
tree laughing like they were free. Because that is how many Southerners might think, the slave s
felted like and that they are enjoying their lives like if they were a free person. He writes this to
make the Northern realize how the Southerners might think of the slaves, and the make them
realize that the Southerners want to go back to the good old days, where it was legal to owning
your own slave. All in all, Golden is trying to wake up the American

The enzyme lipase, is present in one s body, specifically found in an individual s pancreas, mouth,
and stomach. Lipase uses separate fats to break down any consumed foods, so that they can
proceed and be absorbed in the intestines. The body typically produces lipase naturally but in some
cases, people may need to use lipase supplements to assist them in digesting food. The test to
measure the lipase enzymelevels in your body is sometimes known as serum lipase. This test
measures the amount of lipase in your blood.

Sadducees Research Paper
My selection is over a dispute that is happening between the Sadducees and the Pharisees on the
issue of false witnesses, those who had given false testimony, and when they should be executed.
The decision comes down to two choices whether should be executed after the trial or after the
accused had been executed. The Sadducees are arguing that the perjured witnesses should only be
executed if they successfully get the person they accused executed. It is the official action of
execution that should be the reason for the execution of the witnesses not just the intent and
premeditated false testimony. The Sadducees arguing this position based on the verse, in the Torah,
that states a life for life which essentially meant for the Sadducees that... Show more content on

The Pharisees stance would mean that the accused would be alive and the witness dead. The
Pharisees are trying to operate in this position based on two separate verses stated in the Torah.
The one verse being the life for life and the other verse being you shall do to him as he schemed
to do to his fellow . The Pharisees use the second quote mainly for their stance. Overall, the
balance of these two verses would be that these false witnesses are not executed immediately after
their testimony. Furthermore, it did not mean that accused had to be executed for the witnesses to
be executed. In my understanding of the selection, three different decisions and events had to
come together in order for the execution of the perjured witnesses to take place. Witnesses would
be executed if the trial ended, the accused was found guilty, and the witnesses were proven to be
false witnesses. This selection is coming from the texts of Mishnah which is a collection of the oral
traditions of Jewish law that expand on Hebrew Scriptures and other aspects of Jewish thought and

Tutankhamun Investigation
British archaeologist Howard Carter and his team (under the control of Lord Carnarvon, the
archaeologist who funded the search) were the first to discover the steps leading to the tomb of
King Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt on November 4, 1922. Carter landed in
Egypt in 1891, determined to find one of the remaining ancient Egyptian tombs; Tutankhamuns.
However, there was doubt the tomb even existed. Carter stated that there were several pieces of
evidence a faience cup, a piece of gold foil, and a cache of funerary items which all bore the name
of Tutankhamun already found that convinced him that the tomb of King Tut had not yet been

Bernini Vs Michelangelo Essay
Art has always played an enormous role in history. Historical art has frozen in time events and
ways of life in different time periods so that we may learn and understand how our history has
evolved over hundreds of years. Two well known historical art periods are the Baroque and
Surrealist, which contrast each other significantly in style and are from two different time
periods. One such piece of art from the Baroque time period was the sculpture of David. This
sculpture was actually created by two different artists. Gianlorezo Bernini and Michelangelo s
versions of the sculpture of David are very different in comparison. In Chapter 10, Sayre suggests,
Bernini s sculpture of David commissioned by a nephew of Pope Paul V, appears to be an
intentional contrast to Michelangelo s sculpture of the same subject (Sayre 310). There are many

Stereotypes In Jane Eyre
Jane Eyre is a coming of age novel written by Charlotte BrontГ«. Jane challenges the stereotypes of
women in the Victorian era. Every time she rebels, she is faced with a consequence that helps shape
the person she is later on. The integrity that is reflected through her character shows that the love
she finds in the end is completely worth it, considering she is finally content.
An example of Jane challenging expectations of Victorian women would be when she says, No.
St. John, I will not marry you. I adhere to my resolution. Women were assumed to desire
marriage. . . (British Library 7). An additional Victorian stereotype is that Women are supposed
to be very calm. . . (British Library 8) Jane challenges this stereotype when she is reading a book at
Gateshead Hall. Her cousin John starts a fight and throws a book at her. Jane couldn t take it
anymore and had to stand up for herself. Wicked and cruel boy! I said. You are like a murderer you
are like a slave driver. . . (Bronte 13) You can see that in Jane s character, she is a determined

Should Prison Gangs Become More Prevalent Inside Our...
Prison gangs within the penal system are problematic and a multifaceted issue for several reasons.
One reason gangs are so problematic in the penal system is due to the threat they impose on others,
including other types of gang bangers, non gang affiliated inmates, correctional staff, prison
administration, and the overall security of the facility itself. According to research, A composite
measure of gangmisconduct represents the threat that particular gangs pose to prison order
(Gaes, Wallace, Gilman, Saffron, Suppa, 2002). In fact, There is little doubt that prison gangs
are the source of considerable misconduct and present serious challenges to the management of
prisons, which is why numerous strategies have been employed to control and suppress gang
activity (Pyrooz Mitchell, 2015). Why are prison gangs becoming more prevalent inside our
nation s prison system? Since the 1950s, prison gangs have developed in American prisons more
rapidly than in the previous years. Correction staff recognizes some prison gangs as being a
security threat group or STG. A security threat group is a term for prison gangs that describes how
they negatively impact the security of prison operations (Smallagher Smykla, 2015). Gangs have
increased in size and popularity with the penal system because of desegregation with the facilities.
After desegregation happened in the 1960s, inmates regarded desegregation as a need to join
together racially, especially as a means of

Depression And Mental Illness
When one thinks of an illness, most individuals picture a visible decline in one s physical health.
Individuals picture a person coughing, sneezing, or vomiting; however, not all illnesses are

just by glancing at an individual; nonetheless, they are just as harmful and detrimental as physical
ailments. According to Healthy People 2020, depression is one of the most common forms of

cause of death in the United States (Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion 2017) and
the 3rd leading cause of death in individuals aged 15 24 (Smith 2015). Suicide can occur as a result

Boston Bombing Report
On the 15th of April 2013, two brothers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev planted two bombs
190m apart on the side of the road, one of them by the finish line of the Boston Marathon. The
bombers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar set the first bomb off at approximately 2.49pm and the second
bomb 12 seconds later. The homemade pressure cooker bombs were filled with nails, ball
bearings and black powder and were triggered by a remote device. A 1.25V 3000mAh Sub C

perpetrator Dzhokhar told authorities that he learned to make the bombs from an article in Inspire

A Comparison of Theorists
A Comparison of Theorists

There are many great theorists for the Early Childhood Education. Lev Vygotsky and Jean Piaget
are two of the many theorists that benefit the teachers and parents to comprehend their children
learning development. The paper will compare the two theorists and their difference of their
cognitive development.
Jean Piaget vs. Lev Vygotsky
Jean Piaget cognitive development theory explained the changes of logical thinking of children and
adolescent. Piaget suggested that children advance four stages based on maturity and experience.

Applied to the learning environment of an early childhood classroom
Vygotsky and Piaget theories can apply to an Early Childhood classroom simply because most
of their theories will benefit the teachers to use in their classroom. Vygotsky s scaffolding is
when teacher to show guidance towards their students so the students can have the ability to
comprehend and think on their own. Solving problems and solution is a boundless to use in the
classroom especially if the teachers need and want the children to prepare themselves for the
real world. Piaget s theory has the four stages of Cognitive ability. Thus it will benefit the
teacher to use when they are observing the child thinking abilities with proper use of the
assessment and difference of the child s age. For an example if the teacher is teaching two years
old she would want to look for make believe play, when a child likes to pretend they are a
character from movie or book this stage is call Preoperational Stage. Teachers should observe the
activities when the child is pretending to be Queen Elsa or Princess Anna.
Social cognitive theories emphasize that teaching and learning are highly social activities and that
interactions with teachers, peers, and instructional materials influence the cognitive and affective
development of learners (Kim, Baylor, pg. 574, 2006). Teacher should provide a rich variety to

Autochthony In Leif Enger s Peace Like A River
The story of American Literature, much like the journey of the Land family in Leif Enger s novel,
Peace Like a River, is a story of autochthony. But in both cases, that autochthony is permitted by
some stronger force. America has grown to be a uniquely autochthonous nation as a result of the
profound belief of her people in their exceptional nature. Simultaneously, the influence of other
nations and people is the catalyst for growth in America and American Literature throughout history.
The Colonial period of American Literature is laced strongly with religion and the establishment of
a national history. Both the Puritans and the Pilgrims lived their lives passionately devoted to living
out the Bible as they interpreted it, and found their identity deeply rooted in religion. The Puritans
of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, under the guidance of John Winthrop, were to serve as an
example, a city on a hill, and all of civilization was to take note. Throughout Peace Like a River,
Reuben Land looks upon Jeremiah s intense faith with the same reverence that Winthrop intended
the world to look upon his civilization with. Reuben, watching his father pace beyond the bounds of
the truck bed, is astonished when he does not fall, but instead continues walking on the hand of
God (Enger 18). During this moment, Reuben must have felt the same alarm and subsequent
astonishment that those watching Winthrop build his miniature empire felt. Both Winthrop and
Jeremiah Land walked

With a population of a little over 3000 permanent residents, Williams seems like just any other small

area originally called Wii GvКјul by the indigenous Havasupai people, the town of Williams was

The Earthquake Of Nepal Earthquake
Earthquakes are destructive natural disasters that have the potential to occur. Earthquakes greatly
impact various locations around the world. Generally, earthquakes typically only last for a few
brief moments but they can greatly impact a society. One of which include the Nepal Earthquake of
April 25,2015. This particular earthquakeflattened large parts of the capital Kathmandu and also,
caused destruction throughout the already improvised Himalayan nation. The earthquake in Nepal
was the most catastrophic natural disaster in the last 80 years (News Discovery, 2015). With this
in mind, the Nepal earthquake obviously has caused a tremendous amount of damage and loss.
However, earthquakes are bound to take place due to Mother Nature. In order to understand the
severity of the earthquake in Nepal, it is imperative to comprehend how earthquakes form. While
much of the damage in Nepal could be attributed to the country s poor infrastructure, citizens in
other nations can mitigate the disastrous effects of an earthquake by becoming knowledgeable of
natural disasters. Thus, this paper will explain several different aspects regarding how earthquakes
form, the severity of the Nepal earthquake, and how earthquakes can be mitigated. Ultimately, to
fully comprehend a specific earthquake one must know how earthquakes form as well as, how they
work. An earthquake is the shaking and vibration of the Earth s crust. This happens when two
blocks of the earth suddenly slip past one another

The History And Economy Of Viking Dublin
In this essay, I will examine and explore the history and economy of Viking Dublin during the
period of 800 and 1169. I will analyse the establishment of Viking Dublin and how the town
flourished to become a paramount Viking settlement. I will examine how the town prospered
economically by means of trade and commerce.
There is great abundance of history related to the Viking settlement of Dublin. The city of Dublin is
a city of Scandinavian origin and is over eleven hundred and seventy years old . As the capital of
the country today, we can date its creation to the Scandinavian established settlement in the 840s.
There were various phases of Viking encroachment into Ireland. However, this transitioned
erratically from raiding the island, to trade and finally settling throughout Ireland . The Vikings

The Canadian Border Services Agency
In today s society, both male and female are expected to play specific gender roles. In Canada
women and men are thought of as equal, having the same rights to respect, autonomy, and
independence (Bonvillain and Miller 2013: 39). The Canadian Border Services Agency ignored
this right when the agency allowed religious travelers to avoid female guards. Although men and
women may have different roles in their households and communities, their work and activities
are equally valued and socially rewarded (Bonvillain and Miller 2013: 39). These roles play an
important part in shaping the way individuals think about others in society. The CBSA should not
have approved the request of the religious travelers as it devalued the female guards rights by
promoting genderinequality and male dominance.
The approval of the males request raises the gender issue of gender inequality. Specifically
because of their gender, the female guards could not perform their regular duties as a CBSA
officer. Women and men should be thought of as equal by having the same rights to respect,
autonomy, and independence (Bonvillain and Miller 2013: 39). In certain societies, women are

The Ways the Theme of Pride and Prejudice is Revealed Through the Characters of Elizabeth
Bennet and Darcy
In Austen s time it was typical of people of a higher status to look down on people below them; to
be totally blinded by pride and to be prejudiced against those who have less wealth, connections and
social status than them. People of a lower status also were prejudice against those higher than
themselves. This is brilliantly portrayed in the characters of Elizabeth and Darcy.
Darcy comes from a high social class. He has pride in his family. His Aunt, Lady Catherine de

I could easily forgive his pride, if he had not mortified mine.
Not only does Lizzie s inferiority, prejudices Darcy against her, but also the way her family act.
Mrs Bennet, Kitty and Lydia are constantly chasing and flirting with the officers and Mrs Bennet
encourages them. Their kind of behaviour is not what young girls, in the 19th Century should be
like and Darcy and the Bingley sisters frown upon it.
In chapter 18, even Mr Bingley manages to embarrass Elizabeth when Mary tried to sing but Mr
Bennet told her quite abruptly to stop, You have delighted us enough. Let the other young ladies
have time to exhibit. In chapter 18 everything the Bennet s do further alienate Darcy at the ball.
This is because the Bennet s behaviour shows Elizabeth in a bad light, making Darcy even more
prejudice against her.
Mrs Bennet s behaviour in this chapter furthers Darcy s prejudice against Lizzie and her family.
She arranged for the coach to be late and as Bingley and Darcy were and wanting to go to bed, they
had to stay up until the Bennet s had left. The Bingley sisters repulsed every attempt of Mrs Bennet
at conversation. They were evidently impatient to have the house to themselves.
This is another case where the Bennet s behaviour reflects badly on Elizabeth, where Darcy is
becoming more prejudiced against her.

Nonetheless, that didn t prevent me from looking to the future. For the top three runners, I set up

environmentally harmful products into the atmosphere that our ozone the good kind, the kind that
protects us from harmful UV radiation is becoming dangerously damaged. It is becoming thinner

However, the interaction of CFCs with the relatively unstable O3 that makes up ozone caused a
depletion of this molecule in the atmosphere thus diminishing the total amount of protective
ozone. Once CFCs were realized to be destructive and responsible for a great deal of damage to
the ozone, measures were put in place to reduce the amount of CFCs in products. These reductive
measures are probably responsible for stemming a lot of ozone depletion. Pure chlorine is another
particle that is seriously accountable for ozone damage because of the reactions it makes with O3
(Kerr). Bromide and halocarbons are other key damagers (Fahey/Ravishankara and Kerr). A crucial
component in the reduction of ozone damage is to decrease the emissions of these and other
harmful materials, both in product development and production, as well as in product functioning
itself.

The Civil Rights Movement Of The United States Of America
Until the 19th century, no abortion laws existed in the United States of America. By the 1880s,
most states had banned abortion except in cases where it was necessary to save the mother s life.
The cause of this shift in attitude can largely be attributed to the American Medical Association,
founded in 1847. The organization wanted to stop unlicensed abortions by forcing the people
giving them out of business. Religious leaders supported the American Medical Association s move
and worked with them to lead campaigns that would make abortions illegal. It was only in the 1960
s that these strict laws were reconsidered. The civil rights movement seeking equal treatment for
black Americans led to women s rights organizations seeing... Show more content on

Nowadays, the drug is only used for advanced cancers and severe complications of leprosy. Also,
due to the German measles (Rubella) epidemic in the United States in 1962, thousands of
children were born with birth defects. Sometimes, the pregnant women were also affected by
these high risk pregnancies. However, these women could not seek abortions due to the strict
bans. (Supreme Court Drama, wikipedia.org, time.com) While women and women s rights
activists supported this movement, it also raised the question of whether or not abortions were
merely a convenience. Also, people against abortion believed that abortions were a cause of
unprotected sex and women should live with the consequences of their actions. However, it has
been proven that all contraceptive methods are not as effective as they claim to be Also,

Implementing The New Health Care Reform
1.An important strategy to consider would be monitoring states that are active in adopting the
new health care reform. An analysis of the new reform and its impact on the VA should be
studied. These factors can play a major role in the decisions to be made when making changes in
Ms. Patton s area of control. Care should be integrated, and incentives should be aligned to the
well being of the enrolled population. The fundamental objective of implementation of the
transition plan should be improving patient health. Primary care should be a major focus, and
the goal should be improving the health of the enrolled population. The program should survive
long enough to lead to improvements that can be measured. 2.Advantages of Option 1: The VA
Center will be a part of an ISN/CISN program following the new reform. Senior veterans will be
able to access primary care doctors closer to their homes. Disadvantages of Option 1: The plan is
large scale and will require a lot of time and effort. It might be difficult to convince people to
change their current plans and convince new healthier folks to join. Budget approvals might take
some time to come through. The tie up with the insurance company needs to be well planned.
Advantages of Option 2: This option thinks like the State and opines that ISN would likely
exclude coverage of service connected illness or injury. This plan of action will ensure no drastic
measures are taken to meet the new reform measures. Disadvantage of Option

Phrasing Trauma In Cynthia Ozick s The Shawl
Phrasing Trauma: Ozick s The Shawl Few topics still carry a stronger resonance than that of the
experiences of those who were sent to concentration camps during the Holocaust. Cynthia Ozick
tells a deeply moving story about one woman s experience being sent to and surviving in a camp
in The Shawl . It is an intimate look at a mother s love for her daughters in the face of evil both
from outside and within their family. The diction of The Shawl is heavily influenced by the mental
state of its main character. The story s perspective, although third person, is focused on Rosa and
told in a way that is representative of her trauma. In this way, Ozick s specific dictional choices
enhance the reader s emotional connection with Rosa. By using convoluted and indirect diction...

As is often the case in trauma fiction, The Shawl is an attempt to convey to the reader an
emotional scaring story. Ozick accomplishes this in part by choosing obscurified diction that
makes it difficult for the reader to process that events that are unfolding. And the moment Magda

the fence, the steel voices went mad in their growling, urging Rosa to run and run to the spot
where Magda had fallen from her flight against the electrical fence; (Ozick 248). Steel voices,
zigzag arms, splashed : none of these phrases seem to describe Magda or what happened to her in
any meaningful way. It is the nonsensical nature of Ozick s diction, however, that make the reader
uneasy. By choosing diction that doesn t make sense for describing a human, Ozick shows the

According to the Singapore consumer watchdog, there have been an increasing number of
complaints against tuition agencies in the country. With the given situation, the quality of education
is then compromised. Several agencies remain to be unregulated, making and following their own
rules. Given the standard regulations and procedures, owners still remain to be deviant. Others
owners are informed however, that they still manage to overlook the standards. To serve as a
guideline, the following is a discussion on the standard procedures on how to set up a tuition agency
in Singapore.
Two Methods to Register

registration.
The first method requires ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
CPE Requirement
1. Evidence of Registration by ACRA
All the relevant documents from ACRA must be forwarded to CPE for compliance. Without the
requirements, the applicants cannot move forward to further registration procedures. One of the
requirements checked is the tuition agency for proprietary. The proprietary name is integrated with
academy, school, or education to be labelled as a place of learning.
The CPE makes sure that no two tuition agencies have the same name, otherwise parents and
students will be confused. Association with the government such as the inclusion of Singapore,
nations or government is also discouraged.
2. Details of the Agency Managers
A list of the ruling body for the tuition agency must also be identified. The managers are the same
with the listed directors of the business as registered by ACRA. A full personal detail in the
Declaration Form is required. In case of the issues, this form serves as a proof for accountability of
the managers. It is also used for scrutiny.
3. Suitability of the Agency Premises
The agency premise is more on the infrastructure allotted by the tuition agency. Much like in every
educational institution, there is a minimum space for classrooms and administrative duties. Aside
from the enclosures, CPE also requires all the premises to be danger free. In fact, CPE ensures that

Drug Legalization In Canada Essay
Summary
Recently there has been a lot of news surrounding the legalization of Marijuana in Canada. The
legalization is to actually take place in 2017. However, the discussion of this topic has already
begun. Many people are requesting the government to allow pardons on past possession charges. It
is their opinion that if the drug is going to be legalized sooner or later, it is justified to pardon the
past offences. The article even mentions two men whose lives are affected by the criminal
record of having minor narcotics. They both state that they are unable to travel abroad (namely to
america), and have personal issues such as landlords refusing to rent to them. It is their opinion,
alongside others, that just because of a small charge their lives do not need to be affected so
much. Especially considering that the government is going to legalize the drug anyway. The
article also mentions how the previous conservative government made it harder to receive a
pardon. Due to this, many people have be unable to erase the marks of their past and begin on a
new clean slate.

Thus, the legalization of the drug itself does not have an impact on me. However, since other
members of our country will now be able to legally utilize these drugs, it does have a larger
impact. As far as legalization is concerned, I prefer the drug being sold over the counter, rather
than in some random ally way. The the people who are asking for pardons, I believe that they
should be allowed to go through the pardon system and have a chance at getting one. Obviously,
there will be some people who are not eligible to receive a pardon. This fact, however, is decided by
the parole board. I think it would be best if the system went back to how it was before the
previous government made the process harder. That way, the people who do deserve the pardon,

Censorship In China Research Paper
China s Method of Censorship Online In an average, everyday American life after school or work
they would go home and do homework, or eat some kind of snack. If they have any special plans or
a sport so to speak, they would do those sorts of things, but if not this is usually when the
technology starts to come into play. Laptops, computers, tablets, phones, Ipods. All these things
have access to the internet, better yet, they thrive on it. All of these electronic devices almost have
no use without the internet. All this information and knowledge, uncensored and completely open
to the public eye, this is what it is like in one place, but it s slightly different in another. In China
they might follow the same rhyme or reason, but over all the internet, time is generally shortened.
This is because of how limited the internet is. China s internet is censored by a firewall the Chinese
government put up. The Chinese government blocks almost all communication sites, makes large
companies censor their online content if they want to be allowed on the Chinese internet, and is
doing all this without the bulk of their population finding out. Sending an email, posting a selfie,
tweeting, or even just updating your status, these are all things that are not permitted within the
borders of China. On July 7th 2009 China blocked two of the biggest social media... Show more

Trigger Warnings Examples
Trigger warnings are being enforced around America in hopes of improving the way college
students learn. Trigger warnings originated on the internet as a way to flag certain material that
could be harmful to others. Many professors are now pushing for trigger warnings as a way to warn
students that ideas within their material could offend or emotionally harm them. While they are
being implemented across the country, their effects on students are proving to be more harmful
than helpful because they often hinder students educationrather than further develop it. Applying
trigger warnings may cause professors to choose to negatively alter their material in order to attempt
to teach it without offending his or her students. In the article Survey... Show more content on

They allow a colleges to coddle students. One instance of this can come from the article Con:
Trigger Warnings Impose Censorship in the Name of Sensitivity. Donald A. Downs, author and
professor of political science, law, and journalism at the University of Wisconsin, explains how
trigger warnings can negatively affect students. Downs states, Education should expose students to
the depths of the human condition, which unavoidably involves matters of good and evil, life and
death. He then claims, Trigger warnings assume that many students are not capable of handling
the responsibilities of adult citizenship. Students cannot possibly be expected to mentally or
emotionally grow when they are constantly being sheltered from the real world and all of its
sometimes painful disputes. Trigger warnings cater to the sensitive students and grant them no
room to grow up on their own. Many colleges are being overwhelmed by the positive effects that
may come with trigger warnings, they should heavily consider the negative ones as well.
Enforcing trigger warnings in hopes of furthering college education would unleash a surge of flaws
into a school. Though trigger warnings may have few upsides, if put into action they will prove
themselves to be destructive to a school s learning

Essay on The Stakeholder Theory by Thomas Donaldson
A stake holder, in general is defined as an individual or organization likely affected by the
performance of an organization. In The stakeholder theory of the corporation: Concepts, evidence,
and implications by Thomas Donaldson , he quotes Stanford research institution and calls stake
holders those groups without whose support the organization would cease to exist.
Therefore a stakeholder can be thought of as some who both influences and is influenced by an
organization. According to Greasley (1999, p9) there are 3 types of stake holders: internal,
connected and external.
Internal stakeholders are described as the managers and employees of a company. Connected

However, for this scenario it will be assumed that the stakeholder concept stands, and hence will
assume the stakeholder concept is infallible.
It will be assumed that the large mining company is publicly owned and is situated a more
economically developed country (MEDC). Therefore the company will have significantly weaker
influence from the government than a government owned company. It will also imply that trade
unions associated with the company will likely be strong, hence workers will have higher
influence than they would in a less economically developed country (LEDC) where unions would
be weaker .
The above assumptions will also help in identifying stakeholders within the mining company;
stakeholders will be divided up into the 3 defined in Greasley (1999, p9).
Firstly, internal stakeholders, those connected directly to the firm. This group include will account
for anyone working within the firm. In the context of the mining company, this includes people like
miners, even jobs like those of a janitor in the building. However, it is important to note that it also
involves much more powerful stakeholders like senior management, who play a large role in the
decisions made by the company.
Connected stakeholders, will include groups like shareholders, customers and suppliers

Judgement Day, Or The Judgement
A huge concern for most people, Christ follower or not, is the question of what happens in the
end? What happens when humans die? It is a question that many people do not want to discuss
because it brings up fear. Regardless of what people believe, all humankind will be judged in the
end. Judgement Day, or the Judgement, is something that will happen in end times where God
has selected a day to judge the world in righteousness. All people who have lived upon the earth,
including fallen angels, will stand before Christ and give an account for his or her actions,
thoughts, and words. The Judgment will be discussed in order to describe how it has been
interpreted and studied as well as why it is important in life today.
In order for one to believe that there will be a final judgement, one must have a specific
worldview. One must believe that there is a God. This does not necessarily mean they are
Christian as a person can believe in a God without actually following Him. One must believe in the
Bible and that it is the inerrant word of God. One must also believe in Heaven and Hell and a basic
belief in Eschatology. Eschatology comes from a Greek word eschados which means last and
logia which means the study of . It is the study of what happens in end times. One must believe that
when they die, he or she s soul will leave their body and go to Heaven. From there, they will then be
reunited with their body at the resurrection, and then await final judgement.

Effective Management Of Working Capital
In the daily operations of the skilled nursing center where I work, there are two kinds of capital,
fixed capital and working capital. Fixed capital consists of the building, grounds and equipment
and working capital is what is necessary to manage the day to day activities of the center. When I
add together the totals for current assets and current liabilities in the balance sheet, a very important
figure can be calculated, working capital. Effective management of working capital is essential to

Current assets and current liabilities are the two major players in working capital management.
Items that can be converted into cash quickly are called current assets. These would include, cash
on hand, inventory, short term investments and accounts receivable. Liabilities are financial
obligations that the organization owes. For example, short term notes payable; loans that come due
in less than one year and accounts payable; money owned for goods and services provided to the
business.
An unsecured loan, like a credit card is one that is obtained without the use of something valuable
like a car or property as collateral for the loan. It is approved and backed by only the borrower s
credit. Borrowers typically must have a good credit score to be approved for unsecured loans like a
personal line of credit.
When a secured loan is taken out, the lender holds the title or deed or places a lien on something
of value, like a car or a home until the loan has been repaid. If the loan is defaulted on, the lender
is entitled to take possession. A mortgage and an open ended home equity loan are an example of
a secure loan. The borrowing limits are typically higher and the amount of time on the loan can last

Study Of The United Kingdom
For the writing assignment this semester, I decided to study the United Kingdom. I chose this
country primarily because of Scotland and Ireland s historical prevalence in agriculture. Both
countries have a substantial amount of arable land and as such are important to agriculture.
Additionally, when people talk about beautiful, fertile land they typically bring up both of these
countries. Therefore, I am interested in studying the agricultural significance of the region.
In order to have a thorough understanding of the agricultural position in Scotland, it is essential that
the demographic for the country is clearly laid out. According to the Scotland s Census, a website
detailing demographic information about Scotland, the population of Scotland in 2011 was 5.3
million. This value was the highest recorded in Scotland whose population is currently increasing
at a rate of approximately 0.49% annually. However, there has been increased concern for Scotland
due to the fact that their population is steadily aging. There are currently 311 out of every 1000
citizens that are at a pensionable age. The Scottish government expects this number to increase to
397 by 2039.
Scottish populations have struggled until most recently in history. This is due to a few different
historical issues. First, Scotland was faced with mass emigration both in the 19th and 20th
centuries. In the 19th century, a large percentage of Scotts were forced to leave their homeland. In
the 20th century, a large

  • 3. The Internal Revenue Service And The Current Tax Code I am Michael Bull, a constituent of yours living in Murfreesboro, TN. I am part of a local citizen s task force seeking reform of the Internal Revenue Service and the current tax code. No one likes paying taxes, yet most acknowledge the necessity for them; and we all receive benefits from these taxes in one form or another. However, the massive Internal Revenue Serviceand the overwhelming number of taxlaws and their complexity place undue burden on most tax payers and filers. Issue Background For corporations and individual tax filers alike, filing one s taxes is no small feat due to the tax code s complexity and volume. The number of laws, exclusions, exemptions, credits, taxes, deductions, and revisions are more than any one person ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reforming the US tax code into a document a fraction of its current size would help elevate this type of abuse and make it more difficult for people to misuse its content for their own personal agenda. Rogue agents are not the only ones who abuse this monstrosity, the more tax savvy a filer is, the better they are at tax avoidance with so many area to benefit. Whereas a less proficient tax filer or one who cannot afford a professional to prepare their taxes are likely to lose out on deductions or credits they may have otherwise been able to claim had they known about them. Also, with so many parts to the tax code coupled with the number of tax filers, it is impossible to audit are tax returns filed by the shrinking size of the Internal Revenue Service employees. This allows for more criminals to commit fraud in their filings. Another area of concern for us is the amount of time and money spent annually on filing tax returns to ensure compliance of a document of this magnitude. According to the Internal Revenue Service s own web site in a report presented to Congress 9 Jan. 2013 by the National Taxpayer Advocate Delivers Annual Report to Congress; Focuses on Tax Reform, IRS Funding, and Identity Theft, individuals and businesses spend about 6.1 billion hours a year complying with tax filing requirements. That is equivalent to more than 3 million people working ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Wonder Is An Aesthetic Experience Wonder is an aesthetic emotion. Aesthetic emotions are emotions that are felt during aesthetic activity or appreciation. These emotions may be of the everyday variety (such as fear, wonder or sympathy) or may be specific to aesthetic contexts. The emotion usually constitutes only a part of the overall aesthetic experience, but may play a more or less definitive function for that state. 2.2.1.Aesthetic Experiences Aesthetic experience is an exceptional state of mind that is qualitatively distinct from the ordinary everyday experiences. There is a distinct difference between aesthetic situations and everyday situations, as well as objects of aesthetic experience and objects of everyday use. (MarkoviГ¤, 2012) In an aesthetic experience, there is a psychological process wherein certain focus is given on a specific object wherein other objects, events, and concerns are subdued. (Cupchik and Winston, 1996) An aesthetic experience strongly engages the subject s mind, particularly with the object of interest, with a unique kind of subject object relationship, suppressing all other surrounding events and objects. (OgnjenoviВґc, 1997) A defining feature of aesthetic experience is that it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Priori experiences color the perception of the aesthetic experience. • 5. Clinical Reasoning Model Essay Incorporating theory into practice is very important aspect in nursing profession. Nurses employ analytical thinking and reasoning to evaluate health assessments and physical examinations. Core essences of this concept include cognition, metacognition and discipline specific knowledge (Simmons, B. 2010). The clinical reasoning model aids nurses to make clinical judgments. In the scenario of Mrs Alice Palmer, numerous investigation where taken and due to limited information more subjective data was needed as well as objective data had to be monitored constantly. Effective clinical reasoning depends upon the nurse s ability to collect the right cues and to take the right action for the right patient at the right time and for the right reason (Levett Jones, Hoffman,... Like most skills, the more the nurses train, the more natural and easier it becomes. Encouraging comparisons with similar presentations help learners widen their differential diagnosis (Pinnock, R., Welch, P. 2014). Critical thinking is a purposeful, goal directed thinking process that strives to problem solve patient care issues through the use of clinical reasoning (Estes, M., Calleja, P., Theobald, K., Harvey, T. 2016). Clinical reasoning whereas is a disciplined, creative and reflective approach used together with critical thinking to establish potential strategies to assist patients in reaching their desired health goals (Estes, M., Calleja, P., Theobald, K., Harvey, T. 2016). The exact cause of bipolar disorder is still unknown, however, there are many factors which that can work together to make it more likely for an individual to develop bipolar disorder. These factors vary from each person, therefore, one factor that produces the onset of bipolar disorder may not cause someone else to develop the illness. It is believed there may be a correlation between genetics and bipolar disorder. Researchers have theorised that there is a genetic predisposition for the disorder as it tends to run in families, with Kerner stating, the heritability of bipolar disorder based on concordance rates for bipolar disorder in twin studies has been estimated to be between 60% and 80%. (Kerner 2014). Despite these figures, other studies have been inconsistent and inconclusive in proving the linkage. Studies have shown environmental factors play a major role in the development of bipolar disorder. One of the most significant environmental factors observed in relation to the onset of bipolar disorder is childhood trauma or abuse. This can be observed by looking at the study conducted by Alvarez et al which, examined 102 patients with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and schizoaffective disorder and showed that nearly half (47.5%) of these patients had suffered childhood abuse. There are still participations in the reengagement of the civil war and some of the actors still hope that the civil war will be restored. On p.120 ll.38 41 and p. 121 ll. 1 2 Golden writes; once they take the capital, they can force upon the supreme court the decisions that will restore the old plantations, the crinolines, the dueling pistols, the house on the hill with smoke coming out the chimney at twilight and little Sambo rolling in laughter under the magnolia, Ah what a dream first of all, this is sort of provocative written, that the slaves whom he refers to as Sambo (which is a bad world for slaves) that they would lay under the magnolia tree laughing like they were free. Because that is how many Southerners might think, the slave s felted like and that they are enjoying their lives like if they were a free person. Sadducees Research Paper My selection is over a dispute that is happening between the Sadducees and the Pharisees on the issue of false witnesses, those who had given false testimony, and when they should be executed. The decision comes down to two choices whether should be executed after the trial or after the accused had been executed. The Sadducees are arguing that the perjured witnesses should only be executed if they successfully get the person they accused executed. It is the official action of execution that should be the reason for the execution of the witnesses not just the intent and premeditated false testimony. Historical art has frozen in time events and ways of life in different time periods so that we may learn and understand how our history has evolved over hundreds of years. Two well known historical art periods are the Baroque and Surrealist, which contrast each other significantly in style and are from two different time periods. One such piece of art from the Baroque time period was the sculpture of David. This sculpture was actually created by two different artists. Gianlorezo Bernini and Michelangelo s versions of the sculpture of David are very different in comparison. In Chapter 10, Sayre suggests, Bernini s sculpture of David commissioned by a nephew of Pope Paul V, appears to be an intentional contrast to Michelangelo s sculpture of the same subject (Sayre 310). • 21. Should Prison Gangs Become More Prevalent Inside Our... Prison gangs within the penal system are problematic and a multifaceted issue for several reasons. One reason gangs are so problematic in the penal system is due to the threat they impose on others, including other types of gang bangers, non gang affiliated inmates, correctional staff, prison administration, and the overall security of the facility itself. According to research, A composite measure of gangmisconduct represents the threat that particular gangs pose to prison order (Gaes, Wallace, Gilman, Saffron, Suppa, 2002). In fact, There is little doubt that prison gangs are the source of considerable misconduct and present serious challenges to the management of prisons, which is why numerous strategies have been employed to control and suppress gang activity (Pyrooz Mitchell, 2015). Why are prison gangs becoming more prevalent inside our nation s prison system? Since the 1950s, prison gangs have developed in American prisons more rapidly than in the previous years. Correction staff recognizes some prison gangs as being a security threat group or STG. A security threat group is a term for prison gangs that describes how they negatively impact the security of prison operations (Smallagher Smykla, 2015). But in both cases, that autochthony is permitted by some stronger force. America has grown to be a uniquely autochthonous nation as a result of the profound belief of her people in their exceptional nature. Simultaneously, the influence of other nations and people is the catalyst for growth in America and American Literature throughout history. The Colonial period of American Literature is laced strongly with religion and the establishment of a national history. Both the Puritans and the Pilgrims lived their lives passionately devoted to living out the Bible as they interpreted it, and found their identity deeply rooted in religion. The Puritans of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, under the guidance of John Winthrop, were to serve as an example, a city on a hill, and all of civilization was to take note. Throughout Peace Like a River, Reuben Land looks upon Jeremiah s intense faith with the same reverence that Winthrop intended the world to look upon his civilization with. Reuben, watching his father pace beyond the bounds of the truck bed, is astonished when he does not fall, but instead continues walking on the hand of God (Enger 18). In Canada women and men are thought of as equal, having the same rights to respect, autonomy, and independence (Bonvillain and Miller 2013: 39). The Canadian Border Services Agency ignored this right when the agency allowed religious travelers to avoid female guards. Although men and women may have different roles in their households and communities, their work and activities are equally valued and socially rewarded (Bonvillain and Miller 2013: 39). These roles play an important part in shaping the way individuals think about others in society. The CBSA should not have approved the request of the religious travelers as it devalued the female guards rights by promoting genderinequality and male dominance. The approval of the males request raises the gender issue of gender inequality. Specifically because of their gender, the female guards could not perform their regular duties as a CBSA officer. The Ways the Theme of Pride and Prejudice is Revealed Through the Characters of Elizabeth Bennet and Darcy In Austen s time it was typical of people of a higher status to look down on people below them; to be totally blinded by pride and to be prejudiced against those who have less wealth, connections and social status than them. People of a lower status also were prejudice against those higher than themselves. This is brilliantly portrayed in the characters of Elizabeth and Darcy. Darcy comes from a high social class.
