The Legend Of Skyler s Fable Falls
BANG! CRASH! What was that? Skyler thought. All of the people in Fable Falls are Outside
glaring in fear of a horrid looking beast. This beast is being hollered all over by the name of
Chaos. Through the eyes of most he would appear as a large version of a unicorn. But in fact
that is incorrect Chaos is actually an evil spirit that takes the body of a variety of magical
creatures. He has been alive for over a century, taking bodies. There has yet to been a way to
destroy the spirit of Chaos. I think i have found a way to destroy this thing! yelled a gnome from
the inside of an amazingly patterned oak tree in the distance. You have to find the stone that belongs

Narrative Report On Runaway Juveniles
On 05/13/2018 at about 0033 hours, I was dispatched to 22 Warm Glen Avenue in reference to a
runaway juvenile.
Upon my arrival, I was met by a black female adult identified as Samantha Hicks. Samantha stated
her daughter Summer Hicks(DOB:02/11/2005) had run away. Samantha went on to say that
Summer had spent the night at a friends (Aliyah Hopkins DOB:06/08/2004) house on 05/11/2018
and was to return home on 05/12/2018. Samantha stated she last spoke to Summer on 05/12
/2018 at about 1700 hours via telephone and Summer stated she had returned home. Samantha
stated that she returned home at about 1730 hours and Summer was not home. Samantha told
me that she spoke to Hopkins mother was informed that Hopkins had also run away. Samantha
stated Summer has recently started acting out and not doing well in school. Samantha said that
Summer had left a note and the note stated the following: I love you so much. I ve been under a lot
of stress lately. I know i have been making poor decisions and not doing as well in school. I really

Why We Should Stay Trim And Fit
Do you want to stay trim and fit, but also really enjoy dining out? Or, does your work or travel
schedule leave you eating in restaurants multiple times per week? If so, you re not alone. Nearly
60% of North Americans report eating out at least once per week. I believe that the whole point
of being healthy is to enjoy your life more, thus it makes no sense to stop doing the things you
enjoy in order to be healthy. The good news is that, with a bit of planning and a bit of know how,
you can stick to a healthy eatingroutine and still enjoy meals out.
Your plan of attack will depend on a few different factors:
1. Why are you out to eat? Are you there because you re on a work trip and you just need to eat, or
are you out to enjoy time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With that being said, having a few strategies can help, and I m here to help!
Before you go out:
1. Eat a small snack prior to going out, or at least ensure that you are not ravenous. If you are too
hungry, especially to the point of feeling irritable, your desire to eat anything and everything can
easily override your desire to choose a healthy option.
2. Decide ahead of time. If you are able to, research the menu online to see what the restaurant
offers. It s easier to stick to a plan that you made ahead of time rather than to try to decide on the
fly. If your plan is to indulge in whatever you want; then go for it; but decide ahead of time.
3.Change your mindset. Remind yourself that you re there to enjoy time with your friends or
spouse, and that you happen to be eating food. Enjoy your food, but remember that it s just food.
At the restaurant:
1. Start with water. Cold water, hot water, lemon water, soda water there s so many choices! If you
choose to order a drink, enjoy something on the lighter fare such as a glass of wine, or alcohol
mixed with soda water. Fancy drinks such as margaritas and long island ice teas can pack upwards
of 600 calories per glass.
2. Skip the appetizers. Appetizer is not synonymous with lower calorie. In fact, many appetizers

The Effects Of Japanese Culture In Japan
Japan has a very rich and unique culture, unlike any other culture in the world. The Japanese are
close and united, and willing to help each other, to the point that they would even risk their lives
for one another. Their culture has certain aspects of it that every nation should have. In his book,
John Hersey explores the effects that culture and environment have on an individual s views and
belief through analyzing a stereotypical Japanese man, an Americanized Japanese priest, and a
widowed Japanese woman and how they react similarly to the bombing of Hiroshima. The influence
of Japanese culture has an astounding impact on the reactions of Hersey s characters.
Throughout his writing, Hersey s story reveals the effects of the Japanese culture on the people
after the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. After the bomb was dropped, it was not
everyone for themselves but rather, the opposite. People came together to help the wounded, and
since so many were hurt and there wasn t enough first responders, everyone was willing to help
one another. This wasdue to the Japanese culture and how close it makes everyone. Unlike
Americans, the Japanese are not selfish. Varley Pride wrote about the pride the Japanese culture
brings book, Japanese Culture. This Japanese pride is another important reason as to why the
Japanese help each other they hate to see one another hurt or wounded. The Deep Culture of
Japanese Values in Tcworld speaks to how deep and complex the

2. Consider alternative risk techniques According to Carroll (2009), Risk treatment strategies
include two general categories: risk control and risk financing (para. 1). Controlling risks involves
preventing losses and mitigating the amount of losses; risk financing involves paying for losses
that occur. As stated earlier Novant Health takes risk managementseriously. The organization
engages in practices that help reduce risks; a key practice is participating in continuing medical
education. To control risk financing, Novant has a risk retention group that specializes in medical
malpractice liability coverage for preferred risk physicians.
3. Select the best risk management technique or combination According to Carroll (2009), Health
care organizations accept a certain amount of patient care liability risk through an insurance
deductible or self insured retention (para. 5). Novant works to evaluate market rates and offer
package malpractice coverage based on the practice s needs.
4. Implement selected techniques Carroll (2009), stated The implementation process involves both
technical risk management decisions that are made by risk management professionals and related
decisions that are made by other managers within the organization (para. 4). New Star Program was

Outsourced
PART A
Intentional marketing: International marketing is the process of planning and under taking
transactions across national boundaries that involve exchange. Outsourcing is a film directed by
Jeff coat. A comedy talks of conflict between cultures and the romantic era. It revolves around the
American Indian culture. In the film, you can see the characters deal with the issue of outsourcing
by exploring the differences between the American and Indian culture. In dealing with the
current trend of outsourcing, outsourcing captures not only the lives of the new India, but also
from the newly globalized world and the importance of understanding between cultures. It also
does a wonderful job of presenting the beauty of India s cultural and slip for many Americans to
travel to such a different and exotic cultures and experiencing culture shock.. So, here goes a
little inspiration from the film. Cultural shock and personal experiences major pass in the film
was based largely on the experiences of John himself during his time abroad. It deals with the
issue of outsourcing as well. Otherwise, it would have been very easy for filmmakers to fall back
to the stereotypes while pinning and shoot this film. Instead, they did a very impressive job of
capturing a good and realistic snapshot of

Examples Of Enlightened Despotism
The key to Enlightenment during this time period is rationality, meaning rulers probably favored
science and philosophy. Rulers actually became more open minded and provided more freedoms for
their subjects during this period of time. For instance, rulers often implemented freedom of religion,
and freedom of speech. Rulers also funded the arts, science, and education. They wanted the masses
to be more knowledgeable so that the kingdom overall can become more intelligent and productive.
Enlightened Despotism is when a monarch adopts the ideas of the Enlightenment, primarily
rationality, which means he probably funded arts, sciences, and education, while also allowing his
subjects more freedom. An example of an enlightened despot of the eighteenth century was
Catherine the Great. She was the ruler of Russia and helped the country in many ways. For
example, Catherine built an art museum. It was named the Hermitage Museum. It started off as
Catherine s personal art and literature collection. Not only that, but she also invested a great deal of
her wealth into creating education institutes throughout Russia. She fought for women s education
rights. She was also the first ruler to issue paper money in Russia, meaning she established... Show

Ancient Greek History And The History Of Ancient Greece
Ancient Greece
The ancient Greeks were unique and had a one of a kind culture which would heavily influence the
Western world. Their literature would bring forth works that intertwined religious, philosophical,
mythological, and political attributes all in one. From the Bronze Age to the Dark Age, the ancient
Greeks would be innovators for practices we have become accustomed to, such as philosophy,
democracy, literature and theatricals. During this time, most that had been illuminated had been
lost in the Dark Ages, yet thanks to Homer, a Greek writer, some of Greeks lost age was recorded
and survived centuries to come. (Damrosch 186) Little is known about the beginning of Greek
civilization; however, Ancient Greececan be traced back to earlier cultures of the Minoans and
Myceneans. (Betts) The Minoans thrived on the island of Crete around 2000 BC. They developed
a writing system called Linear A, which the Myceneans would later adapt to develop the Linear B
writing system. (Mark) According to geological evidence, it is thought that the Minoan civilization
fell due to overuse of land, yet conventionally, history acknowledges that the Myceneans conquered
the Minoans. (Mark) The Myceneans prospered as well and were greatly influenced by the Minoan
civilization, especially establishing the same religious rites and what would later be known as the
pantheon of Ancient Greece. Although archeological evidence isn t clear as to what wiped out and
destroyed the Mycenean

Isaac s Storm Book Report
You wake up this morning get out bed trying to decide what to wear today. You check the
weather app on your phone and see that it will be sunny and warm outside with zero chance of
rain. You throw on your flip flops and shorts and head outside to begin your day. Weather can be
quite predictable in this day and age. High tech technology and decades of weatherknowledge have
allowed us to predict the weather with great accuracy, but it was not always this way. Isaac Cline,
a meteorologist for the U.S. Weather Bureau failed to understand what was happening in
Galveston before it was too late. On September 8, 1900, no one was ready for what was about to
happen to this prosperous port city. A monster hurricane swept in and destroyed the city killing...

Wanting to maintain the prominent presence of weather forecasting, the Bureau took its orders
from the chief Willis L. Moore. Moore wanted the meteorologists to refrain from stirring up a
public scare in the event of a hurricane unless they were given permission to do so. Moore s
arrogance became known when they received a warning of a hurricane from Cuba. Cuba at the
time was becoming quite knowledgeable of hurricanes. Moore felt as they were no match for the
technologically advanced Weather Bureau so he halted telegraphs during the peak of hurricane
season. Instead of listening to the Cuban warnings and sounding the alarm, the Weather Bureau
chose to remain silent. Isaac noticed something was amiss when he noticed the swells of the ocean.

The Composition and Publication History of Samuel T....
The Myth of Fragmentation The Composition and Publication History of Samuel T. Coleridge s
Kubla Khan
Although the exact date remains unknown, it is believed that Samuel Taylor Coleridge wrote his
poem Kubla Khan sometime in the fall of 1797 and began revisions of it in the early spring of
1798. Interestingly, although no original manuscript has been found, the Crewe Manuscript of Kubla
Khan was discovered in 1934. Currently, the Crewe Manuscript is the earliest know version of
Kubla Khan and is believed to have been written around 1810. After Lord Byron s zealous response
to Kubla Khan, Coleridge published the poem for the first time in May of 1816 under Byron s
publisher John Murray. While the poem was initially bound with two of... Show more content on

Coleridge firmly believed that Kubla Khan was an incomplete poem, and therefore, spent his entire
life continually revising and republishing it.
During the time that Coleridge composed Kubla Khan, biographer Richard Holmes documents
that Coleridge must have been producing something like fifty lines of blank verse a day, and a
tremendous sense of liberation cam over him. In the late 1790s, Coleridge resided in the Quantock
Hills of Somerset near his close friend and fellow poet William Wordsworth. Holmes argues that,
it was some time during this first fortnight in October 1797 that he probably went for a long
solitary walk along the coast to Lynton, exhausted from his labours, and, taken ill on his return
journey, stopped off at Ash Farm above Culborne Church, where he wrote Kubla Khan.
After writing his first draft of Kubla Khan, Coleridge was unable to finish the poem to his liking,
and consequently, dismissed it as an incomplete fragment. On October 14th, 1797, Coleridge wrote
a letter to his friend John Thelwall, stating,
my mind feels as if it ached to behold know something great something one indivisible and it is
only in the faith of this that rocks or waterfalls, mountains or caverns give me the sense of sublimity
or majesty!
For the remainder of his life, Coleridge believed that he was unable to aptly reproduce this sense of
sublimity or majesty.

Analysis Of Just Do What The Pilot Tells You
Just Do What You Are Told
What if one continued to do what they were told no matter the consequences? The author,
Theodore Dalrymple, is a British physician who discusses why blind obedience is discouraged.
His article, Just Do What the Pilot Tells You , was first published in the New Statesman. In this
specific article, he touches on points in our lives when we are supposed to do what we are told.
Disobedience is when a person chooses to disobey some sort of order they were directed to do. The
main point that the author is trying to make is that neither obedience or disobedience should be more
prominent than the other. Although Dalrymple seems to be explaining reasons that people choose
to obey or disobey, he is actually using these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, on the other hand, one could essentially be follower and does not make their own choices.
He is also implying that the findings of Milgram s experiment may in fact not be true. The
author relies on the point that his experiment was heavily supported by the fact that the
participants were being lied to. The author also uses things like examples and past experiences
to get his central idea about obey and disobey across. He uses the example of a social worker
from a hospital. In this example, he goes about it by asking the women if she is against all
authority. She replies stating that she is strongly against any type of authority, but she later
realized that she was not completely against it because she was allowing the pilot to fly the plane.
During this section of the story, the author once again brings up Milgram s experiment. Dalrymple
states that according to Milgram, people are only doing what they are told. He also examines the
fact that during the experiment why people chose to keep going with it even though they did not
agree. According to the writer, this type of obedience would be blind because the person is not
thinking for themselves but instead just following orders. This applies

Wallace Stevens and Emile Durkheim Essay example
Wallace Stevens and Emile Durkheim
To more fully understand Stevens poem The Idea of Order at Key West, one can look at the ideas
of the poem in context of social philosophical thought. Emile Durkheim s theories on religion
closely parallel those of Stevens. Both men believe that there is no supreme greater being, or God,
that gives things order and meaning. But both men also believe that humans need to read order and
meaning into the world to understand it, even if the meaning humans imply is false because there
is no God. Since this aspect of both men s ideas is so similar, Durkheim s outline of ideas on
religion can form a model by which Stevens poem can be analyzed. Furthermore, although there is
no way to prove that Steven s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like Durkheim stated, the human mind better grasps things that are reflected through symbols.
Lines 18 20 of The Idea of Order at Key West state, Whose spirit is this? we said/ It was the spirit
we sought and knew/ That we should ask this often as she sang. These lines express Stevens idea
that humans long for explanations to why things happen. In this particular poem, the explanation
of the essence of the sea is discussed. The people asking, Whose spirit is this? realize that there
seems to be a sort of external power (181), as Durkheim says, but cannot explain it. The people see
the sea is more than that, more than even her voice (36 37).
Because the sea cannot just be more, it has to be put in concrete terms, and Stevens says that
humans inevitably personify nature to put it in forms that they can understand. Stevens
personification is a different method than what Durkheim suggests, which is that humans create
religious projections of society and nature in order to understand them. While these methods differ,
both men acknowledge that humans have to find meaning on a personal level of individual
conscience.
Stevens supports that, in trying to make the essence of nature understandable, the people in the
poem inevitably personify the sea. It is almost impossible for humans to see things in inhuman
terms. For example, the sea has a body (3) and a cry

Some authors consider it to be a type of interactive simulation that teachers use to involve
students and develop their understanding as in role play the participants act the role of a
character in a particular situation (Lean, Moizer, Towler, Abbey, 2006). Also, according to Van
Hasselt et al., (2005), this learning technique helps develop active listening skills, social problem
solving skills and demonstration of emotional empathy. Brummel et al., (2010) states that students
appreciate the role play practice because it catches their attention as well as motivates them to
learn and expand their knowledge about the situation and how to resolve it in different ways. One
of the most popular approaches to role plays in the Role Switch model, which consists in learning
from the inside out as the person takes the role of another person in order to understand their
thoughts and actions. Another tactic is called Almost Real Life in which a person role plays an
experience as close as possible to the real situation in order to apply his skills in a pretended safe
atmosphere. From Kettula and Berghäll (2012) point of view, there are two different approaches
to role play: unstructured/ developmental and structured/method centered. The first approach is
used to deal with justly complex settings and it is related to learning attitudes and motivations while
structured/ method centered focus more in

Fire Hydrant In The 1800s
Between the years of 1800 and 1900, there were many useful inventions created by Americans.
They have each affected and assisted the U.S. in many ways. One of the inventions created
between this time span, was the fire hydrant. There are at least 15,000 located everywhere. Fire
hydrants themselves are about 182 years old. Even though they might seem ordinary, they are a
major necessity that helps us get water right away in case of an emergency. It is unsure who
invented the first fire hydrant, but it is guessed that it was invented by a firefighter named George
Smith in the year of 1817. He invented it in Manhattan to help the locals receive water. They were
running out of their water supplywhich is where the fire hydrant came in to help.

requires strategic direction and guidance from the President (POTUS), Secretary of Defense
(SecDef), and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) to allow the Combatant
Commander (CCDR) of the United States European Command (USEUCOM) to employ his
Theater Campaign Plan (TCP) across the conflict continuum. In the following paragraphs, the
above statement will be supported by the USEUCOM CCDR s operational approach of
developing broad strategic and operational concepts into specific mission tasks to show his TCP is
linked to and supports U.S. national interests. To do so, examples of U.S. strategic guidance
documents incorporated within the linkage will be presented. Lastly, a current engagement activity
that is linked to a U.S. national interest in Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey (GAAT) will
be discussed to express the range of militaryoperations USEUCOM faces.... Show more content on

Pride And Prejudice By George Wickham
Many works of literature contain a character who intentionally deceives others. The character s
dishonestly may be intended either to help or to hurt. In Pride and Prejudice, written by Jane
Austen, George Wickham deceives the characters within the novel. Wickham fooled the Bennet
family, especially Lydia, and attempted to fool Mr. Darcy and his young, innocent sister. Wickham
purposefully lied to these characters to benefit himself and continue to live in his lavish lifestyle. At
the beginning of the novel, Wickham was perceived as a well spoken and charming member of the
militia who readily gained the trust of Elizabeth Bennet. Elizabeth begins to like him and
eventually, she makes the mistake of trusting him. Wickham tricked Elizabeth... Show more content

The letter states that Darcy did provide Wickham with the money Darcy s father left for him,
but Wickham gambled away his money and was left with nothing, causing him to greedily ask
for more. When he was denied by Darcy, Wickham conjured up a plan to trick Georgiana, Darcy
s little sister, into marrying him. Wickham hoped to convince Georgina to elope with him so he
could steal her inheritance, which is the main reason for the hostility between Darcy and
Wickham. This letter reveals to Elizaebth how Wickham managed to infiltrate her life and
deceive her into falling for his charm. As seen in the letter, ...She tried to recollect some instance
of goodness, some distinguished trait of integrity or benevolence, that might rescue him from the
attacks of Mr. Darcy; or at least, by the predominance of virtue, atone for those casual errors
under which she would endeavour to class what Mr. Darcy had described as the idleness and vice
of many years continuance. But no such recollection befriended her... , Elizabeth tried to think of a
time where she felt as Wickham was a truly genuine and good person, but alas, she could not.

What Is The Mood Of The Lady Of Shalott
In the poem The Lady of Shalott, we find a woman, who is trapped inside of her own home by a
curse. She is faced with the fact that she cannot experience reality due to this curse that for
whatever reason has been placed on her. The poet uses imagery and symbolism to portray the
feelings in the story as well as the hidden meanings within the poem. Imagery within the story
poses the mood of the setting. The poem states, Four gray walls, and four gray towers, overlook
a space of flowers (Part 1, Stanza 2). The poet describes the place in which the lady dwells as being
very dreary, and lonesome. Also, the poet talks about the Lady of Shalottbeing tired of the shadows

Both the mirror and the loom act as key symbols in the story. For the mirror, it represents the
absence or even a fake reality. The Lady of Shalott longs for experience of true reality, in which
she cannot experience due to the curse imposed on her. Though a mirror reflects the image of
reality, what is seen is not the actual thing. The loom acts in a similar way. As the woman slaves
over her works of art, she never directly sees the progression of her craft, but only the reflection
of it. In light of the Victorian era, art acts in the same way. Art is a portrayal of reality from the
view of the artist. Like the role of the mirror, art does not directly show reality but the reflection of

Negative Impact Of Sacrifice In Society
Walking on the road to Jerusalem, The time had come to sacrifice again, My two small sons, they
walked beside me on the road, The reason that they came was to watch the lamb... Daddy, daddy,
What have we seen here?, There s so much that we don t understand, So I took them in my arms,
And we turned and faced the cross, Then I said dear children watch the lamb (Boltz n.p.). Did Jesus
only feel pain and anguish, or did he feel joy on the cross too?
Sacrifice is, an act of offering to a deity something precious; especially: the killing of a victim on
an altar (Merriam Webster n.p.). Along with its denotation, sacrifice is described as letting
something go that will benefit a greater cause because of a belief. Sacrifice helps make the world
a better and more viable place. The next generation is relying on this generation to make the world
a better place, which can only be done if time and talents are offered up. Often times the word
sacrifice has a negative impact, but is sacrifice what brought every human being into this world?
While religion and politics are controversial to America s society in this era, sacrifice is a way
for people to express themselves. Expressing ones self can be a hard task, and thoughts of
judgment always come to mind. Only one thing that can judge, and that is a greater being. Every
human on the planet earth stands for something like the cross symbolizes sacrifice for the life of
Jesus Christ. Along with biblical references, society recognizes

TREATING INFORMATION PRIVACY DEFICIENCIES IN CYBERSPACE
Introduction
Scholars are divided on the fundamental question of the Federal Trade Commission s (FTC)
adjudicative capacity under the FTC Act. The FTC uses a reasonableness standard and considers
each company s data security practices on a case by case basis. For more than a decade, the FTC
s enforcement of data security actions invoked under В§5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act
(FTC Act) resulted in consent decrees and settlements, subsequently scrutinized by practitioners as
carrying as much precedential value as judicial opinions.
In 2015, the Third Circuit Court Appeals decision in Wyndham reinforced the FTC s authority to
pursue enforcement actions against companies that do not have reasonable data security practices.
Notwithstanding a motion to dismiss arguing that, inter alia, (1) the FTC lacks authority to
regulate under В§5 of the FTC Act and (2) the FTC failed to provide fair notice and of what
constitutes reasonable data security standards and (3) В§5 does not govern the security of payment
card data; Wyndham marked the first time federal courts held that the FTC has authority under В§5
of the FTC Act to enforce data security practices.
Equipped with Wyndham, the FTC s guidelines in providing information about what acts
constitutes unfair or deceptive practices carry more precedential force than ever before. Essentially,
the Circuit Court of Appeals holding in Wyndham affirms the FTC s discretion to

Anthropogenic Sound Lab
The purpose of the experiment was to measure the effects of water on sound, as the density of
the water is gradually increased by adding salt to the water. The experiment is based on the
question: How is sound effected by traveling through water of various densities? The variables that
were tested for were velocity, frequency, wavelength, period and amplitude of the sound. The
group wanted to analyze several characteristics of sound to be able to observe multiple patterns
that sound follows while it moves through water of increasing density. We hypothesized that the
velocity of sound would increase as density was increased because we knew the velocity of sound

What Is The Critique Of The Movie Trumbo
McCarthyism, an incident that invoked a dark age upon movie writers and writers in general,
teaches about how society lived in a time of fear, anger, and skepticism towards differences, just
how the starring role in the movie Trumbo (acted by yourself), which amazed me, takes the
viewers through a tour of the life of a writer affected by these negative impulses from society.
Trumbo kept me enthralled all the way through, and my attention just couldn t break away from it.
Every element in it executed remarkably well, from the vividly enriched acting, to the heavily
sharp themes, to the characters that boomed with personality, and even to the gracefully dim
screenplay. There exists a sizable amount of illustrated life lessons to love and to learn about the

To begin with, the movie s screenplay fantastically dramatized the movie itself. In fact, the film s
screenplay managed to obtain a nomination for the Writers Guild of America Award in the Best

by two daughters of one of commander of one of the forts, their traveling companions and the
Indians they encounter along the way. The story begins with Alice and Cora, the daughters of
Colonel Munro, commander of Fort William Henry, heading out from Fort Edward, accompanied
by Major Heyward, to visit their father. The three are guided by an Indian, Magua, who eventually
betrays them, in an act of revenge, and leads them into a trap.
Along the way, they encounter David Gamut, a religious signer from Conneticuit, who joins them
on their trek to the fort. Later they meet Hawkeye and two Mohican Indians, Chingachgook and his

Abstract Unfortunately divorce is at an all time high around the world today and there aren t any

effects that divorce can have on children ages eighteen and under in the United States, as well as

I have personally observed when I eat more vegetables that I am able to have regular bowel

The S.M.A.R.T. (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time frame) behavior that I am

Flawed Performance Appraisals
The performance appraisals process is flawed in many ways. Lack of preparation, time, training,
and professionalism are a few examples of how the system is flawed. The individual completing
the application often has many tasks that supersedes taking the appropriate time necessary to
accurately keep notations of an employee s performance throughout the year. The lack of time
leads to an employee receiving a performance review on the most recent accounts of his or her

professionalism can also hurt the appraisal process. An employee should be rated by his or her job

subject, forgiveness can be difficult in certain instances, especially between a coach and his players.
When conflicts arise between these two subjects, there are instances when forgiveness can take
years, sometimes many years. In the book, Bleachers, the author, John Grisham, shows the reader
the inside of this quest. The main characters, Neely Crenshaw and Eddie Rake, battle inner conflict

The author showed the reader that Neely had to travel along a path and hit rock bottom in order
to realize the underlying conflict that was making him miserable; he had to forgive, not give up
on life. Through this quest he finally comes to realize his misery, I knew I had to be here when
he died, I had to say farewell, And I had to finally, and sincerely, accept his apology. I should have

miserable, picks himself or herself up after hitting rock bottom, and works through pain and

Marketing in the Banking Industry
Marketing in the Banking industry
Introduction:
In many ways, the banking industry has functioned more as a private industry offering something
of a public utility. Through this unique role, the industry has dramatically expanded its service and
product offerings over the last several decades. However, even as the industry has evolved, its
marketing strategies have remained somewhat static. The assumption for many in the banking
industry not unlike a public utility is that their services are needed by the public. This, in and of
itself, is a view that has dissuaded many from achieving the type of marketing presence from which
they might otherwise benefit. However, this approach is shifting significantly today as banks
struggle to compete with one another and with their own negative reputations. As the discussion
here will show, more effective marketing is the key to driving new success in an industry in need
of a recovery.
Problem Statement:
Over the last decade, a string of corporate collapses has contributed to a decided downslide in the
reputation of the global banking industry. Scandal, embezzlement and dishonesty marked the
downfall of a number of prominent investment banking firms, helping to compound a sense for
many in the public that bank s are driven by greed and are not to be trusted. This denotes a clear
problem for the banking industry on the whole, which relies on the public s trust and loyalty to
court and maintain customers. Therefore, a great

Battle Of Resaca Essay
The Civil War was made up of multiple different battles, and was essential to keeping the nation
together. After Lincoln was elected president, the states began to leave the Union (King). In order
to keep the country, the Union needed to fight the states to stop them from leaving over the ideas
of slavery. One of these battles during the Civil War was Resaca. This battle was part of the
Atlanta campaign. A campaign is the way that many battles in the Civil War were categorized. The
result of the Battle of Resaca can be attributed to the leadership of the generals, the geography of the
region, and the conflict that took place. An important Union general in the Battle of Resaca was
commander William T. Sherman, he attended West Point Academy and excelled academically, then
graduated in 1840 ( William Tecumseh Sherman. ). Sherman was well trained and was planning to
join the military. He worked in the army from 1840, the year he graduated, until 1853, when he
resigned his commission. He then became the headmaster at the military academy in Louisiana,
until they left the Union ( William... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Why Does Scout Admire Miss Maudie
To Kill Mockingbird by Harper Lee Summer Homework Questions By Jasmine Kosovrasti
1)Scout admires Miss Maudie due to her kindness, honesty, patience, and love towards Jem, Dill,
and Scout. She also admires Miss Maudie because no matter what life throws at her, for example
her house burning down, Miss Maudie tries to look at the bright side of things. Miss Maudie
takes others well being before her own. 2)Atticus accepted the job to defend Tom Robinson
because he believes everyone is equal. That just because Tom Robinson is a man of color, that is
no reason to refuse to defend him. Atticus values equality and justice and he thought now would
be a good opportunity to display the importance of such values to his children. 3)Scout Fights
with Ciel Jacobs and Francis because she wanted to defend her father, Atticus. The boys called her
father a Nigger lover and hearing this insult towards her beloved father, who she knows is
incapable of being anything but a fair a kind man, makes her want to fight back. 4)Aunt Alexandra
disapproved of Scout because she believed Scout was too much of a tomboy. Aunt Alexandra
thought Scout needed to begin acting like a lady and she expresses these thoughts to both Scout
and Atticus. 5)Uncle... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Reflective Essay On Occupational Therapy
Growing up, I was close to a family that had a daughter with Rett Syndrome. I grew up watching
how different therapies, particularly hippotherapy, immensely helped her. Through the impact this
girl had on me, I have aspired to work with children who have disabilities. I have observed
multiple types of therapies and have decided that Occupational Therapy is the route that will best
help me reach these aspirations. It is my goal to help make a difference in people s lives, and in
their families lives, following graduation from an Occupational Therapy school. As an Occupational
Therapist, you get to help such a wide variety of people. One person you treat may need sensory
therapy, and the next person you treat may have a neuromuscular problem.... Show more content on

One semester I took a class that was about teaching children with exceptionalities. In this class, I
learned about all different types of disabilities, what it s like to have these disabilities, how to
help students cope with their disabilities, and how schools are supposed to accommodate the
student. The class was such an eye opener on how students with disabilities live and how
challenging school can be for them. In taking the prerequisite courses, I discovered a love for
studying how the body works, not only physically, but emotionally and mentally. In this upcoming
semester, Spring of 2017, I am registered to take an American Sign Language class. Learning sign
language will undoubtedly be beneficial to know when working with people who have
disabilities. It will provide me with skills to work with clients with communication issues. For
instance, if I have a client who is nonverbal, I can teach them a way to communicate with others.
I am a part of a club on campus that is heavily involved with a school in our community that
serves students of all ages with developmental disabilities and with our area s Special Olympics. I
ve helped our area s regional and state Special Olympics in the past several years.
Becoming an Occupational Therapist is a goal that I have been working hard to achieve my whole
life and know it s a field that I will be highly successful

The Guerrilla Warfare And The American Civil War
The guerrilla warfare along the Kansas Missouri border has generally been considered an outlier
of the American Civil War. While interesting to read about, its impact on the war and on Union
policies were not always important to historians. Early in the study of this conflict historians chose
to focus on the leaders and actions of the guerrillas. More recently, scholars have endeavored to
understand how guerrilla warin the Civil War affected the society in which it took place. This shift
in historiographical trends is, in part, due to the rise in guerrilla warfarein the present. However,
questions still remain over how this conflict fits in with the rest of America s military experience.
Questions like, does the guerrilla warfare prove... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No other mention is made about guerrilla warfare. Because his work was published in 1973, when
attention was still predominantly focused on the conventional engagements of the Civil War, this
oversight is unsurprising though certainly lamentable. Despite the lack of attention given to the
irregular forces supporting the Union and Confederate Armies, those men engaged in raids and
operations that contribute to a deeper understanding of why, during the American Civil War
, a
strategy of annihilation was supported by the Union as their strategy against the Confederacy.
While the development of guerrilla war does not factor into Weigley s thesis that the United States
has moved from a strategy of attrition to a strategy of annihilation, it is important in understanding
how and why the United States made that change. For Weigley, this change came during the
American Civil War when Grant became Commanding General of the Army. Grant did not
believe the war could be won with a single, decisive victory against the Confederate Army, rather,
he initiated a strategy to destroy the Confederate Armies through many battles and by attacking
their economic resources. The orders to begin destroying the war resources of the Confederacy
may have had their roots in the Western and Trans Mississippian Theaters of the war because of
frustrations associated with guerrilla war. Early in the war in Kansas, James Lane organized a
mixed brigade to

America And Other Countries Of Similar And Contrasting...
In America and other countries of similar and contrasting cultures, we like to be right, we like to
be on top, and we want to be recognized for both respectively. Competition is an underlying
theme in so much of what we do in our daily lives. Whether it s getting a better grade on a test
than your friend, winning a football game or even speeding up faster than the car next to you when
the light turns green. Competition, whether we like it or not, surrounds us and we participate in it
willingly. We all want to stand on that podium and receive the gold medal, for then we are better
than someone else and we can look down upon him or her because we have achieved something
they have not. This competition and trying to be better than the person... Show more content on

There are many different factors early in life that instill this superior characteristic of America and
its people.
To start off, education is huge when analyzing ethnocentrism. Throughout my years of social
studies and history classes the textbooks emphasize the victories of America, the times in which
people from the U.S. were heroic and brave and fought in the face of hardship. However, these
historical accounts merely account for a single side of the story when in fact there were many
more events to be shared. The textbooks tilt the perspective of the important events to show the
Americans as winners. They do not show triumphs against the U.S. or times when our people were
defeated as much as they do the victorious moments, for that would display weakness. There is an
article in the book that speaks about this topic specifically. Writing the textbook in an ethnocentric
way denies the students the much more objective chance to learn about other cultures outside of
the U.S. (Textbook, pg. 68) This act of showcasing the successes of America in a way that
disregards any other country or culture tells the reader that America is the best, that we are superior
and undefeatable. Emphasizing superiority then in turn creates an inferiority of others as well.
(Textbook, pg. 68) The students, at a very young age are told that the United Statesof America is a
country that wins. These books are taught

The Third Artefact For My Portfolio
The third artefact for my portfolio was Assignment 3 in course Mdde 605, titled: Globe Driving
Academy Business Plan. Its purpose was to identify a business structure from the strategic plan
and multi year strategic goals and to reflect the potential for growth. Students were expected to
include financial plans and a balanced scorecard reflecting and measuring an organization s
success. This 43 page document covered everything from Business visions, motivation product
services, marketing schemes, governance process, to the Financial Plan for a for profit company
which was going to implement e learning as the next major step to stand out in the industry.
Competencies and Reflection The assignment itself was lengthy and took me a very long time to
complete it. Not having a background in business the most challenging part was doing research on
a projected financial plan. It was with a help of a charted accountant that I was able to accomplish
this with actual numbers from my workplace so all the information is based on true numbers. He
taught me how to gather information on company s projected sales, factors contributing to losses,
projected profit, and comparing with actual profit. This way, it is possible to predict of it is worth
investing before investing and starting new projects in the company. In the end, I was pleased with
the final product despite the frustration of reading multiple business plans, tackling the numbers
and understating the swot (strengths,

The Formation of Major Weather Events Essay
For a tornado to form there must be a cold front, and low level moisture. Tornadoes are associated
with big and strong thunderstorms. A column of warm and humid air will rise quickly. How it
begins to rotate is not understood by scientists, but what they think is that two different winds with
different altitudes and speeds. This creates a wind shear. The column of air sometimes gets caught
in a super cell updraft. The updraft will tighten and speed up. When it begins to rain and hail, the

One popular idea is that small cloud particles have a positive charge, and then the other larger
particles are negatively charged. The particles separate, and the upper part of the cloud becomes
positively charged, while the lower part becomes negatively charged. The positive and negative
charges attract each other and the charges will grow strong enough to overcome the air s resistance
to electrical flow. Then the charges race toward each other, they connect, and create an electrical
circuit. Then it discharges the accumulated electricity as lightning. Lightning will most likely occur
in the summer time during a thunderstorm. As the lightning strikes, it travels downward toward
the ground. Lightning is measured by how much electricity a bolt of lightning will contain.
What you should do during a lightning storm is try to stay indoors. Be sure to avoid water. Stay
on low ground, and avoid being in the open. Also, if you have any trees that touch your house,
cut them because if the tree were to be struck, the electricity would go through your home.
Floods start when there has been a heavy rainfall, or it could be when there is a lot of snow
when spring is arriving. They also can be a result of a hurricane, tsunami, or a high tide in coastal
areas. Floods will occur on flat land near banks, and rivers. It can also occur at the base of a

  • 8. Why We Should Stay Trim And Fit Do you want to stay trim and fit, but also really enjoy dining out? Or, does your work or travel schedule leave you eating in restaurants multiple times per week? If so, you re not alone. Nearly 60% of North Americans report eating out at least once per week. I believe that the whole point of being healthy is to enjoy your life more, thus it makes no sense to stop doing the things you enjoy in order to be healthy. The good news is that, with a bit of planning and a bit of know how, you can stick to a healthy eatingroutine and still enjoy meals out. Your plan of attack will depend on a few different factors: 1. With that being said, having a few strategies can help, and I m here to help! Before you go out: 1. Eat a small snack prior to going out, or at least ensure that you are not ravenous. If you are too hungry, especially to the point of feeling irritable, your desire to eat anything and everything can easily override your desire to choose a healthy option. 2. Decide ahead of time. If you are able to, research the menu online to see what the restaurant offers. It s easier to stick to a plan that you made ahead of time rather than to try to decide on the fly. If your plan is to indulge in whatever you want; then go for it; but decide ahead of time. 3.Change your mindset. Remind yourself that you re there to enjoy time with your friends or spouse, and that you happen to be eating food. Enjoy your food, but remember that it s just food. At the restaurant: 1. Start with water. Cold water, hot water, lemon water, soda water there s so many choices! If you choose to order a drink, enjoy something on the lighter fare such as a glass of wine, or alcohol mixed with soda water. • 9. The Effects Of Japanese Culture In Japan Japan has a very rich and unique culture, unlike any other culture in the world. The Japanese are close and united, and willing to help each other, to the point that they would even risk their lives for one another. Their culture has certain aspects of it that every nation should have. In his book, John Hersey explores the effects that culture and environment have on an individual s views and belief through analyzing a stereotypical Japanese man, an Americanized Japanese priest, and a widowed Japanese woman and how they react similarly to the bombing of Hiroshima. The influence of Japanese culture has an astounding impact on the reactions of Hersey s characters. Throughout his writing, Hersey s story reveals the effects of the Japanese culture on the people after the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. After the bomb was dropped, it was not everyone for themselves but rather, the opposite. People came together to help the wounded, and since so many were hurt and there wasn t enough first responders, everyone was willing to help one another. This wasdue to the Japanese culture and how close it makes everyone. Unlike Americans, the Japanese are not selfish. Varley Pride wrote about the pride the Japanese culture brings book, Japanese Culture. • 12. Examples Of Enlightened Despotism The key to Enlightenment during this time period is rationality, meaning rulers probably favored science and philosophy. Rulers actually became more open minded and provided more freedoms for their subjects during this period of time. For instance, rulers often implemented freedom of religion, and freedom of speech. Rulers also funded the arts, science, and education. They wanted the masses to be more knowledgeable so that the kingdom overall can become more intelligent and productive. Enlightened Despotism is when a monarch adopts the ideas of the Enlightenment, primarily rationality, which means he probably funded arts, sciences, and education, while also allowing his subjects more freedom. An example of an enlightened despot of the eighteenth century was Catherine the Great. She was the ruler of Russia and helped the country in many ways. For example, Catherine built an art museum. It was named the Hermitage Museum. It started off as Catherine s personal art and literature collection. Their literature would bring forth works that intertwined religious, philosophical, mythological, and political attributes all in one. From the Bronze Age to the Dark Age, the ancient Greeks would be innovators for practices we have become accustomed to, such as philosophy, democracy, literature and theatricals. During this time, most that had been illuminated had been lost in the Dark Ages, yet thanks to Homer, a Greek writer, some of Greeks lost age was recorded and survived centuries to come. (Damrosch 186) Little is known about the beginning of Greek civilization; however, Ancient Greececan be traced back to earlier cultures of the Minoans and Myceneans. (Betts) The Minoans thrived on the island of Crete around 2000 BC. They developed a writing system called Linear A, which the Myceneans would later adapt to develop the Linear B writing system. (Mark) According to geological evidence, it is thought that the Minoan civilization fell due to overuse of land, yet conventionally, history acknowledges that the Myceneans conquered the Minoans. Weather can be quite predictable in this day and age. High tech technology and decades of weatherknowledge have allowed us to predict the weather with great accuracy, but it was not always this way. Isaac Cline, a meteorologist for the U.S. Weather Bureau failed to understand what was happening in Galveston before it was too late. Moore felt as they were no match for the technologically advanced Weather Bureau so he halted telegraphs during the peak of hurricane season. Currently, the Crewe Manuscript is the earliest know version of Kubla Khan and is believed to have been written around 1810. In the late 1790s, Coleridge resided in the Quantock Hills of Somerset near his close friend and fellow poet William Wordsworth. Holmes argues that, it was some time during this first fortnight in October 1797 that he probably went for a long solitary walk along the coast to Lynton, exhausted from his labours, and, taken ill on his return journey, stopped off at Ash Farm above Culborne Church, where he wrote Kubla Khan. After writing his first draft of Kubla Khan, Coleridge was unable to finish the poem to his liking, and consequently, dismissed it as an incomplete fragment. On October 14th, 1797, Coleridge wrote a letter to his friend John Thelwall, stating, my mind feels as if it ached to behold know something great something one indivisible and it is only in the faith of this that rocks or waterfalls, mountains or caverns give me the sense of sublimity or majesty! For the remainder of his life, Coleridge believed that he was unable to aptly reproduce this sense of sublimity or majesty. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. Analysis Of Just Do What The Pilot Tells You Just Do What You Are Told What if one continued to do what they were told no matter the consequences? The author, Theodore Dalrymple, is a British physician who discusses why blind obedience is discouraged. His article, Just Do What the Pilot Tells You , was first published in the New Statesman. In this specific article, he touches on points in our lives when we are supposed to do what we are told. Disobedience is when a person chooses to disobey some sort of order they were directed to do. The main point that the author is trying to make is that neither obedience or disobedience should be more prominent than the other. But, on the other hand, one could essentially be follower and does not make their own choices. He is also implying that the findings of Milgram s experiment may in fact not be true. The author relies on the point that his experiment was heavily supported by the fact that the participants were being lied to. The author also uses things like examples and past experiences to get his central idea about obey and disobey across. He uses the example of a social worker from a hospital. In this example, he goes about it by asking the women if she is against all authority. She replies stating that she is strongly against any type of authority, but she later realized that she was not completely against it because she was allowing the pilot to fly the plane. During this section of the story, the author once again brings up Milgram s experiment. Dalrymple states that according to Milgram, people are only doing what they are told. He also examines the fact that during the experiment why people chose to keep going with it even though they did not agree. According to the writer, this type of obedience would be blind because the person is not thinking for themselves but instead just following orders. This applies ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. Wallace Stevens and Emile Durkheim Essay example Wallace Stevens and Emile Durkheim To more fully understand Stevens poem The Idea of Order at Key West, one can look at the ideas of the poem in context of social philosophical thought. Emile Durkheim s theories on religion closely parallel those of Stevens. Both men believe that there is no supreme greater being, or God, that gives things order and meaning. But both men also believe that humans need to read order and meaning into the world to understand it, even if the meaning humans imply is false because there is no God. Since this aspect of both men s ideas is so similar, Durkheim s outline of ideas on religion can form a model by which Stevens poem can be analyzed. Furthermore, although there is no way to prove that Steven s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Like Durkheim stated, the human mind better grasps things that are reflected through symbols. Lines 18 20 of The Idea of Order at Key West state, Whose spirit is this? we said/ It was the spirit we sought and knew/ That we should ask this often as she sang. These lines express Stevens idea that humans long for explanations to why things happen. In this particular poem, the explanation of the essence of the sea is discussed. The people asking, Whose spirit is this? realize that there seems to be a sort of external power (181), as Durkheim says, but cannot explain it. The people see the sea is more than that, more than even her voice (36 37). Because the sea cannot just be more, it has to be put in concrete terms, and Stevens says that humans inevitably personify nature to put it in forms that they can understand. Stevens personification is a different method than what Durkheim suggests, which is that humans create religious projections of society and nature in order to understand them. While these methods differ, both men acknowledge that humans have to find meaning on a personal level of individual conscience. Stevens supports that, in trying to make the essence of nature understandable, the people in the poem inevitably personify the sea. It is almost impossible for humans to see things in inhuman terms. For example, the sea has a body (3) and a cry ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

TREATING INFORMATION PRIVACY DEFICIENCIES IN CYBERSPACE Introduction Scholars are divided on the fundamental question of the Federal Trade Commission s (FTC) adjudicative capacity under the FTC Act. The FTC uses a reasonableness standard and considers each company s data security practices on a case by case basis. For more than a decade, the FTC s enforcement of data security actions invoked under В§5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act (FTC Act) resulted in consent decrees and settlements, subsequently scrutinized by practitioners as carrying as much precedential value as judicial opinions. In 2015, the Third Circuit Court Appeals decision in Wyndham reinforced the FTC s authority to pursue enforcement actions against companies that do not have reasonable data security practices. Notwithstanding a motion to dismiss arguing that, inter alia, (1) the FTC lacks authority to regulate under В§5 of the FTC Act and (2) the FTC failed to provide fair notice and of what constitutes reasonable data security standards and (3) В§5 does not govern the security of payment card data; Wyndham marked the first time federal courts held that the FTC has authority under В§5 of the FTC Act to enforce data security practices. In addition, the for the appraisal process to be beneficial to the company the outcome has to be to protect the company from liability or litigation from a disgruntled employee and to boost the companies overall productivity ratings. The two of them are in an attractive summer outdoor setting, presumably on a warm day. The bright green leaves on the trees in the background help to add a sense of desire to be outdoors on such a day, especially if Canada is home. The colours and bright lighting help translate signifiers of hope and future in life s many gifts that nature has to offer. The image is very clear and crisp, hiding nothing from the eye; providing total transparency to the viewer. The railing, column and roof covering creates white space, which helps the reader focus on the two characters, and also amplifies the linguistic message in the top right corner. This was likely decided to make the viewer feel at ease in such a personal frame. The use of coding is scarce, the women are completely bare; no clothes, jewelry, nail polish, even their hair is fully tied up. This design decision helps to remove any indexes except the global symbol of breast cancer, and colour pink. Connecting to the arts and crafts movement, the design is simplistic; enough detail to intrigue but not so much that the mind is confused, which further compounds the symbol of breast cancer to the audience. Some believe forgiveness is not necessary, while others follow the belief in the Bible, forgive and forget. However one looks at this subject, forgiveness can be difficult in certain instances, especially between a coach and his players. When conflicts arise between these two subjects, there are instances when forgiveness can take years, sometimes many years. In the book, Bleachers, the author, John Grisham, shows the reader the inside of this quest. The main characters, Neely Crenshaw and Eddie Rake, battle inner conflict as they struggle through ambivalence toward one another. The author showed the reader that Neely had to travel along a path and hit rock bottom in order to realize the underlying conflict that was making him miserable; he had to forgive, not give up on life. Through this quest he finally comes to realize his misery, I knew I had to be here when he died, I had to say farewell, And I had to finally, and sincerely, accept his apology. I should have done it earlier (Grisham 158). When one realizes the underlying conflict that is making one miserable, picks himself or herself up after hitting rock bottom, and works through pain and suffering, the quest ends. One realizes not to give up. The author supports this theme with Neely s quest toward forgiveness to show what happens if one never gives up. One learns from his or her mistakes when he or she is in a different position. It took a man s confession on his deathbed for Neely to finally let go. When the confessional letter is read, Neely can finally let go. He can forgive. • 41. Marketing in the Banking Industry Marketing in the Banking industry Introduction: In many ways, the banking industry has functioned more as a private industry offering something of a public utility. Through this unique role, the industry has dramatically expanded its service and product offerings over the last several decades. However, even as the industry has evolved, its marketing strategies have remained somewhat static. The assumption for many in the banking industry not unlike a public utility is that their services are needed by the public. This, in and of itself, is a view that has dissuaded many from achieving the type of marketing presence from which they might otherwise benefit. However, this approach is shifting significantly today as banks struggle to compete with one another and with their own negative reputations. As the discussion here will show, more effective marketing is the key to driving new success in an industry in need of a recovery. Problem Statement: Over the last decade, a string of corporate collapses has contributed to a decided downslide in the reputation of the global banking industry. Scandal, embezzlement and dishonesty marked the downfall of a number of prominent investment banking firms, helping to compound a sense for many in the public that bank s are driven by greed and are not to be trusted. This denotes a clear problem for the banking industry on the whole, which relies on the public s trust and loyalty to court and maintain customers. Therefore, a great ... More recently, scholars have endeavored to understand how guerrilla warin the Civil War affected the society in which it took place. Because his work was published in 1973, when attention was still predominantly focused on the conventional engagements of the Civil War, this oversight is unsurprising though certainly lamentable. Despite the lack of attention given to the irregular forces supporting the Union and Confederate Armies, those men engaged in raids and operations that contribute to a deeper understanding of why, during the American Civil War , a strategy of annihilation was supported by the Union as their strategy against the Confederacy. While the development of guerrilla war does not factor into Weigley s thesis that the United States has moved from a strategy of attrition to a strategy of annihilation, it is important in understanding how and why the United States made that change. For Weigley, this change came during the American Civil War when Grant became Commanding General of the Army. Grant did not believe the war could be won with a single, decisive victory against the Confederate Army, rather, he initiated a strategy to destroy the Confederate Armies through many battles and by attacking their economic resources. The orders to begin destroying the war resources of the Confederacy may have had their roots in the Western and Trans Mississippian Theaters of the war because of frustrations associated with guerrilla war. However, these historical accounts merely account for a single side of the story when in fact there were many more events to be shared. The textbooks tilt the perspective of the important events to show the Americans as winners.
