Climate Change Is A Terrible Problem
Big Polluter Agenda
Climate change is a terrible problem, and it absolutely needs to be solved. It deserves to be a huge
priority (Bill Gates). As we progress as unified communities, nations, states, cities, etc., we
contribute to either a solution or to the problem. Our current government has intents to help these
environmental issues yet like any other foreign policy there are two sides to every issue. By
definition of foreign policy, which is the articulation of national interests and the means chosen to
secure those interests both material and ideational internationally, an environmental issue is a set of
predicaments with the planet s systems that have been developed due to human intrusion and
mistreatment (Balyis). Environmental issues can range in many aspects from global warming,
deforestation, air and water pollution, overpopulation, soil erosion, destruction of biodiversity,
littering, destruction of natural habitats and natural resources, attack of marine life, oil spills,
nuclear issues, acid deposition, environmental disasters, volcanic eruptions, greenhouse effect, sea
level rise, fossil fuels, and species extinction. A current issue being brought up on environmental
policies this year is the Big Polluter Agenda in both the House and the Senate. The Big Polluter
Agenda is blocking the president s plan to reduce carbon pollution from power plants, forcing
approval of the Keystone XL tar sands oil pipeline, obstructing the limits on smog, stopping the

Mongol Empire Research Paper
To start off the religion Islam is known as monotheistic, which means the believers only believes
in one God. Allah is the God they worships. The Islamic way of life is based on the teachings of
its founder, Muhammad the Prophet. The Mongol Empire was one of the largest trans continental
empires that existed in the 13th century. This empire originated in Central Asia, under the
leadership of Genghis Khan, a Mongol tribe ruler. In this paper, I would be talking about how the
spread of Islamand the rise of the Mongol Empire contributed to the formation and strengthening of
the Afro Eurasian network.
Historically, Mongol Empire, known as the biggest land empire and the most extraordinary feats to

People began to learn how to read and write. Revenues generated because of trade in and out of
the network allowed states to mature economically. The Islamic states in the Middle East also
matured partly because of the wealth brought in through trade, as many of these states were centers
of trade, as the Middle East was at the center of this network. This is one of the main characteristic
of the Afro Eurasian network, how that the states belonging to the network and even those on the
fringes of the network showed some form of political and social

Sports Marketing and Mobile Technology Essay
Sports marketing has made its way directly to the fans. In the past, only the extremely devoted
fans would check on their teams online but now, the norm has changed. Now the devoted fans
learn new information before anyone else, and even get rewarded for it. In the article The
Passion of the Fan , by Stewart Feil, fans are being rewarded for posting about their favorite
teams on social media. The reason this is possible is because mobile apps have greatly contributed
to the way fans follow their teams. In Sports marketing and technology with the New England
Patriots , by Michael Krigsman, it reveals that fans have the capabilities of sending their favorite
teams their input about the team. The most amazing part is their voice is being... Show more content

popular way to find information on current sports. Feil describes the influence of social media
on sports, As sports marketing agency Catalyst found in its 2012 Fan Engagement Study, digital
channels league websites, fan sites, online sports news sources, sports related Twitter feeds and
other Internet and social media outlets are now second only to TV as a primary and trusted
source of information for sports fans. People are now relying on social media to find their
information, and they are even spreading the news when they find out. Teams have started to
capitalize on this acquired information. Feil goes into detail to show how the Detroit Pistons have
managed it, A gamified app called SocialToaster that lets registered fans earn points for each item
they repost to their social media feeds; those with the most points receive game tickets, team
merchandise and other incentives. Teams are capitalizing on this opportunity to spread the word
about themselves using prizes as incentives for devoted fans. By using this method, they hope to
expand to new, untapped, resources of fans and bring their current fan base even closer. It is truly a

Betty Samuelson Issues
The movie North Country was inspired by Jenson v. Eveleth Taconite Co. a Supreme Court Case
that changed sexual harassment in the workplace. In the film, North Country, Josey Aimes, a single
mother of two, is one of the first women to work at an iron mine in Minnesota. After being abused
by her ex husband, Josey moves in with her parents in Northern Minnesota and starts working in an
iron mine. This was the first time that the iron mines of North Minnesota hired female miners.
During this time females who were working in the mines were being constantly harassed by their
male coworkers who believe that, that was not a women s work. This sexual harassment included
uncomfortable situations, insults, sexual language and physical abuse and psychological... Show

According to Betty Samuelson, it is illegal to for employers to discriminate on the basis of race,
color, religion, sex, or national origin (351). In the film women were being discriminated based
on their sex, which according to Samuelson is disparate treatment (351). Working in mines was
consider only for males and when women start working at the mines they suffer all types of
injustices. In the film, the dirties and hardest jobs were given to women, jobs that men didn t
want to do. Women didn t have a voice to speak about their concerns and needs as workers, they

unwelcome sexual advances, request for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of
sexual nature that are so severe and pervasive that other interfere with an employee s ability to

Toyota Recall Essay
Financing the Toyota Recall. INTRODUCTION In May of 2006, The Toyota Motor Corporation
initiated a recall of nearly one million vehicles around the world to replace faulty parts that could
cause drivers to lose control of the steering wheel. The recall affected vehicles across 10 models,
including the popular Prius. The intermediate shafts and sliding yokes in the recalled cars lacked
the necessary strength and could distort or crack under strong pressure, causing drivers to lose
control of the steering wheel, according to Toyota (ConsumerAffairs.Com). Owners of these
vehicles were allowed to have these defects repaired at the cost of Toyota and required
approximately on hour to complete (News.com.au).

The can utilize debt or equity financing. If they choose debt financing, they will need to generate
capitol for the recall by borrowing the funds. These funds will likely be obtained from a bank or
the owner. It is important to note they could seek help from the government given the size of the
recall amount or even the general public via bond but these would be unlikely scenarios given there
current cash position.
Essentially, debt financing offers Toyota loan opportunities to be considered a temporary
investment with a stated return to the lenders. While the term may be long or short, and
potentially rolled over, it is important to note this avenue would prove less costly then equity
financing. Given the history and habit, if you will, of Toyota s recall history, a short term loan
rolled over as necessary would be realistic.
General capitol for the recall can be raised by providing ownership of the company through equity
financing. The advantage of this is essentially, the financing is forever, unless of course Toyota
chose to buy back the stock. The greatest flexible advantage to Toyota with equity financing is of
course the payback period is endless. Some disadvantages to equity funding for Toyota is the higher
cost versus debt financing and the clear fact they cannot determine the return. The capitol
appreciation of the stock and dividends, if paid, cannot be guaranteed, thus higher risk is a factor
worthy of careful consideration. Although

King Jr Metaphors
On August 28, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr., a civil rights activist, delivered his renowned
speech, I Have a Dream on the Lincoln Memorial located in Washington to millions of Americans.
King relied on the use of metaphors, imagery, and anaphora to establish pathos; as well as to
convey his wish to live in a country where everyone has equal civil and economic rights no matter
their skin color.
King employs many metaphors throughout his speech to disclose emotions that can only be
represented by comparing two things. The most notable example is in the beginning of his speech
where he compares the lack of justice to a check with insufficient funds. By doing this, King makes
his audience acknowledge that the African Americanpopulation has been deprived of its freedom.
This example correlates with the rest of his speech speaking on how African Americans are treated
as less than human even after being granted their freedom in 1865. To fully understand why he
compares these two things the audience will need to know information regarding the 13th, 14th,
and 15th amendments and how they were supposed to give African American slaves equal rights.
This metaphor makes the audience recognize that African Americans... Show more content on

The primary message King is conveying is that equal rights for African Americans has not happened
in the United States since it was first granted over a hundred years. African Americans are still
being segregated against even after being declared free in 1865. King s techniques are effective
because they leave a long lasting impact on the audience s emotions. Martin Luther King Jr. s
message is relevant due to it being delivered at a time where segregation was at a high point. King
accomplished his purpose in making the United States a better place by motivating its citizens to

Essay about Changing the Legal Driving Age to Eighteen
Changing the Legal Driving Age to Eighteen
Every day teens are given access to automobiles. Every day these young people go to their jobs,
classes, and athletic practices. Do they all abuse their driving privileges? No. Then why restrict all
teens, including the law abiding and mature, by raising the driving age? This debate reaches all
across the nation, to all levels of government, and many related laws and propositions can be
found. If the driving age is increased, teenagers will have more difficulty getting jobs and gaining
experience. On the other hand, if the driving age is 18, new drivers will have more maturity. So
the question remains, should the legal driving age be 18 years old? No, the current driving age ...

Says teen Stefanie Zimmers, Honestly, I don t follow all the traffic rules (Zimmers 1).
Likewise, teens need to focus on their schoolwork instead of recreational driving. The time
wasted driving friends around could be better spent studying for a test. These friends are also a
danger and distraction to the young, inexperienced driver. Teens need the extra couple of years to
mature and become more attentive. In contrast, many believe that 16 years old is old enough to
operate a motor vehicle. Many minors living with their parents face punishments, such as
suspension of driving privileges, if they get a ticket or in a collision. They fear losing the ability
to drive the family car if they break traffic laws, and often decide to obey the laws rather than be
punished. In addition, teens need transportation to their jobs, classes, various entertainment venues,
sports practices and competitions. Parents often lack the time to chauffeur the young adults to and
from these places. Driving is imperative to teenage life. The ability to drive allows a teenager to
be less dependent on their parents and more able to take on additional responsibilities. Without
driving privileges, teens would not be able to get to the destinations previously listed.
Furthermore, the common belief that teen car crashes often involve alcohol is false.

Analysis Of The Book The Night
Alan strode out the door just as skittish as he was when he walked in. He went over his plan in his
head a countless amount of times. He was meeting Diana for dinner that night. He was going to put
the potion into her wine. Diana wasn t aware that Alan had such a tremendous admiration for her.
He was strolling along, almost to the restaurant when a bluebird swooped down and snatched the
lovepotionfrom Alan s grip. Ah ah oh you come back here bird! That s mine! shrieked Alan. He
dashed after the bird until he could no longer run. The bird landed, and Alan could see the bird
sipping the potion. Alan s jaw dropped. He pondered upon what it would do to animals. The
wise man hadn t said anything about animals. That was supposed to be for Diana! Now what am
I going to do? Alan spoke out loud to himself. The bird was staring at him. Go away bird.
However, the bird did not go away. Instead, it flew over to Alan and landed right on his shoulder.
Alan shooed the bird off of his shoulder and started pacing towards the restaurant where he was
meeting Diana. He was still going to meet Diana, even if she wasn t going to fall in love with him
today.
Alan stepped up to the door of the restaurant. It was a glass door so he could see his reflection.
He could also see the bird s reflection. The bird was right behind him. He had followed Alan all the
way to the restaurant. You need to leave, Alan commanded the bird. Then, Alan realized what was

Elf Battle and Gwyndor
A long time ago, in a land far, far away from this land we know, there was a land called Gwyndor,
a place where all kinds of life existed. Men, Dwarves, Elves and other creatures lived in this
mysterious land. However, Gwyndor was not all a place of peace and prosperity, far off near the
borders of the east, there was a land called Azurg, a land where the sun forbid to shine and
simply setting foot in the land drains the life right out of you if you were not strong enough.
Right in the center of Azurg there was a dark and gloomy empire filled with hundreds of
thousands of fang bearing, fearsome creatures who crafted crude weapons out of metal they
gained from fallen warriors whom they slayed, but in the center of the empire there was a lone
tower, and in this tower there was a conjurer of dark magic whom no man had ever seen, for once
you saw him, you never escaped with your life. This sorcererremained nameless because no one
could describe him because no one ever got a look at him before his or her time was ended. No one
ever knew what that creature was doing up in his tower but one day nearly fifty years ago this
good world figured it out. One day the sorcererreleased darkness over all the land of Gwyndor, all
the villages and towns of Gwyndor were destroyed and none who stood up to him succeeded.
However on one fateful day all the inhabitants of Gwyndor came together, Men, Elves, and
Dwarves marched onto the border of Azurg. A company of men led by the ruler

Traditional Medicine And Chinese Medicine
The Chinese world today carries with it, an air of mystery; which the Chinese civilization gathered
over long periods of time. Their philosophy about life and the methods used in traditional medicine
practice constitutes a significant part of Chinese civilization s history. Part of this traditional
medicine, with deep roots in Chinese culture, is the cupping therapy; which has been successfully
applied since ancient times and has immediate positive effects. In general when people think of
traditional Chinese medicine, the first thing that comes to mind is probably acupunctureor the use of
natural herbs as a healing remedy. Cupping therapy is a lesser known treatment. However cupping
does get combined with acupuncture in treatments, but it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore before discussing in detail the Chinese cupping therapy is imperative to understand the
philosophical elements behind the traditional Chinese medicine. These philosophical elements that
gave rise to the development of traditional Chinese Medicine are as follow: essential Qi, Yin Yang
and the Five Elements. (China.org.cn)
The essential Qi, in traditional Chinese medicine is classified in two categories: normal Qi and
the evil Qi. While the normal Qi is part inborn, part inherited from parents and part acquired
through food essence and the air, therefore essential for daily life activities and body s resistance
against disease; on the other hand the evil Qi is very harmful to health. The explanation for evil
Qi being harmful to health is that it comprises of various pathogenic factors such as: excessive
wind, cold or heat. All these abnormal atmospheric changes are considered being the evil Qi. Thus,
in this context, disease is defined as being a process of struggle between the normal Qi and the evil
Qi. The Yellow Emperor s Classic of Internal Medicine book explains Qi by saying: If genuine qi
prevails, attack of evil qi never avails. Since Qi is said to be invisible and its role is to act as the
motive force in support for all kinds of life activities, the word Qi itself, in traditional Chinese
medicine is translated into English as vital energy .

The Concept Of Learning Process
3.LEARNING PROCESS APPROACH
David Korten stated the concept of learning process in 1980. According to him, the process of
learning is continuous and involved not only planners and implementers, but rural people. The goal
of this approach is to develop capabilities through developing ideas, for making decisions and
creating continual innovations. The process includes the areas of technology and organization or
even a mix of both. The learning process serves an alternative to the blueprint approach, taking into
account the particular context of the project. (Krishna et al., 1998)
The possibility of embracing error is another particular characteristic of this approach. The use of
small scale projects generates a substantive knowledge about the factors of success and the elements
to improve in any stage of the development programs. For completing this process, the individuals
in the project must document the findings and develop a structured system of learning which
would be the base for building the local capabilities. This usually explains the tendency to slowly
start the programs which use the learning process approach.
The local capabilities construction becomes the main resource for the sustainability of the project
through the development of the self reliance. The projects of development usually include an
assisted process for generating this condition of self reliance. Individuals in rural communities
should understand that they are responsible for their resources and

Essay about State Wrestling Championship
In the first 20 seconds of the match, I had the first take down. I was working crossfaces, cheap

After my win, my team was lined up to congratulate me; I was the only member from our team to

External Forces In My Hero Academia, By Izuku Midoriya
There are moments in one s life that can be attributed to external factors or internal factors, or a
mixture of both. However, people have a tendency to reason either external forces or internal
forces more than the other for outcomes. Julian Rotter called this dimension locus of control, the
extent to which people will perceive outcomes as internally controllable or externally controlled
(Myers, 2013, p. 57). If a person attributes outcomes to mostly his or her own control, he or she is
said to have an internal locus of control; if a person attributes outcomes to mostly external forces,
the person is said to have an external locus of control. In the anime, My Hero Academia, the main
character, Izuku Midoriya, displays primarily the external locus of control. The main idea behind

heroes have graduated from and primarily a hero school. When Izuku shares that he wishes to take

A Brief Note On Armenia And The Soviet Nation
Like everyone else in my family, I was born in Yerevan, Armenia. My parents decided to move
our family to the United States in 2000 to live with my grandfather on my mom s side. We left
our entire family in Armenia to be able to have a better life in the United States. Armenia was a
soviet nation and when the USSR collapsed, so did most of Armenias economy. People struggled to
make money and life there quickly became very hard. My parents always tell me stories of when
my brother and I were babies and what our familyhad to do to be able to provide food and clothes
for us. There were certain times a day where families got electricity and water. People that didn t
live in the city lives in ore rural areas that were referred to villages since they were
underdeveloped. People in the city lived in apartments. It was very common for people to live
with entire families in a small home or apartment. My parents lived in my dad s family home in
the city with his entire family of twelve people. My parents struggled a lot to be able to keep my
brother and I comfortable through the freezing winters and scorching summers. Life in Armenia
became too hard for them. That s when they decided it was time to make a huge change and
leave everyone we knew behind to move to a foreign nation with a dream of having a better life.
We moved to Los Angeles in 2000 to live with my grandfather. I don t remember much from that
time since I was so young, but I do remember how different everything was.

In order for a supernatural show to be the best it needs to have some form of forbidden love. One
example of this is in The Vampire Diariesbetween two characters, Elena Gilbert and Stefan

Examples Of Discovery In Hamlet
The play Hamlet presents Hamlet s path, his self discovery. He is questioning his identity and
struggling with his life after his father died, his mother married his uncle Claudius and the big
pressure is on him to accept Claudius as the new king and also his new father. He is still
mourning his real father, he wears only black clothing and he considers his mother s marriage to

and does not see the political side of his mother s marriage. He starts acting mad, and the only

He sees a father as his rival for mother s love. It is called an oedipal complex after the Greek myth
in which Oedipus kills his father and marries his mother.
There are some critics that say that Hamlet s oedipal complex is explanation for everything he does
in the play, the way he is acting and the main reason why he cannot revenge his father immediately.
Hamlet s relationship with Ophelia is another example. She is different than Gertrude and Hamlet
wants his mother to be jealous. Hamlet s sexual desire for his mother, according to critics, is the
reason why he cannot revenge his father. Only when Gertrude dies Hamlet kills Claudius.
But Hamlet was written when Freud had not been born and his theory about oedipal complex
cannot be applied to Hamlet. It is not likely that Shakespeare knew about this complex while he
was writing Hamlet. Hamlet was not in love with his mother, he was just acting mad because of his

On September 13th, we discussed various topics within the field of the brain, biology, and

adolescent risk taking. I particularly enjoyed Eiden and colleagues article the most out of the
assigned articles. Eiden and colleagues conducted a study examining the effects of prenatal cocaine
exposure on infant hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis activity and reactivity at seven months old

walking on dangerousness even though it is a stupid attempt at possibly gaining popularity in their

increasing, decreasing, and the redistribution of dopamine. We discussed the fact that adolescents
feel invincible and may share more emotions with their peers which can lead to choosing to take
certain risks. For example, if they see (or hear) that their peers are partaking in the consumption of
alcohol or drugs, they may do it themselves to feel a part of the gang or to feel just as invincible as

The Pros And Cons Of Modern Censorship

ENGL 1302
Modern Censorship What is censorship? Censorship means the process to examine a work, a
piece of art, etc... in order to suppress or delete any object in it that may seem objectionable or
harmful. But why is there censorship? Writing has always been a risky venture, fraught with
ethical, political and financial pitfalls. If we look at the history of the world writing, we can see
that it is filled with examples of censorship in many aspects ( political, social, personal ) and the
authors of those writing have often risked much for the sake of their written words and for the
sake of their readers. So is censorship right or wrong? To me, however, I think that there is no
clear answer to that question, for censorship has its fair balance of advantages and disadvantages
to its certain limit. A lot of people said censorship is right, cause it keeps the young generation
safe from the words that might ruin their mind, but some said censorship is unnecessary because
of it just words and sooner or later all kids will hear and know what those words mean. In my
opinion, some part of censorship is good but it depends on the limit that is taken and how extreme
censorship goes. I do agree with one advantage that most people also agree about is that censorship
helps protects the young, the innocent and the vulnerable. It is built on the premise that we don t
always know what is good for us, we

The Changing World Of Gymnastics
Gymnastics has drastically changed since the time it began in ancient Greece. Looking back at it,
nearly nothing is the same. It has gradually been modified into the sport that it is today. Whether it
s small changes like a switching the compulsory music to a different piece of music, or big changes
like switching the number people who will go to the Olympics that year, there is constantly
something different going on in the world of gymnastics. Gymnastics is also always getting harder
than it was the previous year. While this makes it much more competitive and entertaining, it also
becomes much more dangerous. So this constantly changing sport has both its advantages and its

Spartacus Corruption
Spartacus takes place during the first century BC, in the ancient roman empire. this empire has slid
into corruption and moral decay, extensively employing the work of slaves to carry out the lesser
jobs of society. these slaves are often mistreated, abused, exploited, and worked until death, as
shown in the opening scene where Spartacuss friend dies from work exhaustion. This opening
scene takes place in a Roman salt mine in the province of Libya, where a large group of slaves
toil with pick and axe to extract the precious mineral from the ground, and Roman soldiers guard,
and abuse the slaves. the commentary tells us of the hopelessness of the soldiers situation, and that
the only freedom they can hope of achieving is death. Spartacus... Show more content on

Draba, however Draba refuses, citing how gladiators do make friends, as the y may be required
to kill one another in the arena. During this time the gladiators are kept in poor conditions, more
akin to a prisoners life than an athletes, however some relief is given in the form of occasionally
being allowed to sleep with a number of slave women. One such women is Varinia who meets
Spartacus one night, and instead of the performing the regular sexual acts with one another, they
form a friendship, which evolves into a bond born of love over the course of their time at the
school. When taunted by Batiatus over His situation with Varinia, Spartacus shouts I m not an
animal at him. Varinia, present at the time, quietly says neither am I . This exchange of dialogue
serves to show that the slaves, as a rule, considered themselves to be human beings, entitles=d to the

Restorative Justice Pros And Cons
With the rise of Civil Rights Movement in western countries, the circumstances of the criminal
victims are getting more attention gradually. Due to this emphasis, it directly led to a first
revolution in the criminal justice, the revival Restorative justice. For a criminal justice system,
victim support and healing is a priority which might seem an obvious aim. Restorative Justice was
first introduced by an American professor, Randy Barnett in 1977. Nowadays, restorative justice
systems have been applied to criminal justicesystem in many countries (Tai Wan, Australia, the US
and the UK etc). In spite of many researches of restorative justice composed by western scholars,
however it has not yet been defined properly and cover over the cons of this system. Restorative

Evolution Of Mimicus Essay
Walking past a fancy poster of a famous model with the most amazing body, have you ever
wished you could change your body instantly to make it look like that model? The mimic octopus,
Thaumoctopus mimicus, is able to alter its body shape and colour to mimic up to 15 different
species. Although mimicry of background patterns and textures is a common defence mechanism
for the species under class Cephalopoda, mimicking of individual animals in the absence of the
model is a unique feature in T.mimicus. It chooses to make itself more conspicuous to predators by
mimicking high contrast colour patterned species. The mimic octopus is the best example of the
Batesian mimics. It is only found in the estuarine bays of Indonesia and Malaysia. It is a... Show

The order in which the T.mimicus lineage evolved was based on several key traits. The
ancestors of T.mimicus evolved the use of bold colour patterns as the secondary defence
mechanism to shock and surprise the predators if camouflage failed. Additionally, the long arms
were developed which facilitates the motion of flatfish swimming technique. Finally, an
extremely risky shift in defence strategy was developed as the T.mimicus began displaying the
bold colour patterns while mimicking a flatfish2. Dr Christine Huffard says that the close
relatives of T.mimicus used drab colours and camouflage quite successfully to hide from
predators1. However, it is assumed that as a result of natural selection, being conspicuous has
allowed it to reproduce and survive more successfully than some of its less conspicuous ancestors
and eventually evolved into its own lineage (clearly shown in Figure 1). The life span in captivity
has been reported to be only months or even days with the highest reported life span being less
than a year. Commercial trade and pet trade of these octopuses could seriously harm the population
of the mimic octopus in the

Five Forces Analysis Of Nestle
Industry Environment Five Forces I.Threat of New Entrants Moderately High The food
processing industry is very large and competitive; it is not uncommon for firms within the
industry to do quite well. As a result, many companies enter into the market every year in an
attempt to gain a portion of the profitable market. Luckily for NestlГ©, the company has been
around for decades and boasts a long history of quality products and consumer satisfaction, which
has allowed the company to obtain a considerable share of the market. It is demonstrated in
accelerated investment activity in the 2000 s which indicates long term commitment in markets
where Nestle operates, and construction of 16 factories from 1993 2006 in China to meet
consumer demand. As a result, new entrants into the industry must attempt to seize a portion of
NestlГ© s market share in order to survive. However, over the years, new entrants with healthier
alternatives have threatened the status quo in markets like Asia, Africa and the United States.
Economies of Scale Nestle enjoys massive economies of scale because of its size. Nestle has
increased production while maintaining low cost through fewer factories. This strategy has
positively contributed to Nestle working capital. This advantage of economies of scale is made
possible because of Nestle s unmatched number of factories around the world. The Swiss giants
owns 418 factories in 81 countries. This is how Nestle has effectively managed to localize

Analysis Of The Movie Memento We Come Across A Diner...
In Memento we come across a diner scene where we see Teddy trying to help Leonard realize
that living his life day by day based solely on pictures and notes can be problematic. In this scene
Teddy says, Lenny, you can t trust a man s life to your little notes and pictures. Because your notes
could be unreliable. Christopher Nolan directed Mementoin 2000, which is adapted from Memento
Mori written by Jonathan Nolan in 2000. Both Memento and Memento Mori tell a story about a
man who uses photographs and notes to help him remember things as he searches for his wife s
murderer without the use of his long term memory. Christopher Nolan produced a free adaptation of
the shorty story, although the movie itself grasped the general concept it didn t exactly stay true to
the little details presented throughout the short story. One of the ways this is done in the movie is
through Nolan s editing.
Nolan made the movie in reverse chronological order. This was done this way so the audience
could connect more with the character Leonard. For example, in the beginning of Memento we
start off with Leonard holding a photograph in his hand of what looks to be the murder of Teddy,
as he flicks the photo back and fourth the picture slowly fades away turning the photo pitch black,
soon you begin to realize that everything is being reversed and then we switch to a black and
white scene of Leonard going over how he got in a motel room. Those specific scene edits

consumers but the after sale service gradually dominants the purchasing psychology. In general, the
after sales service is one of the critical success factors for enhancing the consumer satisfaction,
which is acknowledged by Asugman,G.et al.(1997) to some extent. More specifically, the further

Therefore, the effect of after sales service to some extent will increase the pressure of the employee
to devote themselves to their sales work, which in reverse could decrease the sales volume as well
as the interests in the company. However, it has to be acknowledged that the after sales service is
conducted to the success of on line market as a result of the positive impact on the company as well
as the consumer. One of the contentions in favor of that assertion is that the customer satisfaction
must be the primary goal of the organization for success and growth, then after sales service is the
bridge for the employee to contact with customers for obtaining the feedback and satisfaction
(Pertson and Willson,1992) . What s more, the customer oriented on line market has to satisfy their
customers demands, thus the systematic after sales management could act as an effective approach.
Loveman (1998) maintain that the customer satisfaction has an intimate relation with the loyalty of
the consumer and financial stability of the firm. Consequently, the employees will be stimulated by
the high evaluated feedback of customers to make more contribution to the company. That is to say,
the high satisfaction can help the organization keep the existed customer and obtain much more
new customers, which formulates a customer purchasing recycle. Hence, the impact of after sales
service in the online market should be

Hyperkalaemia And Depolariization Of Potassium
Potassium is a necessary intracellular ion, found in each cell membrane, playing a vital role in the
normal functioning of nerve and muscle cells. It is crucial for proper fluid balance in the body by
countering the effect of sodium and creates an electrical charge across the cell membrane. This is
important as it allows nerves to conduct electrical impulses to communicate between muscles and
cells to contract. A majority is found inside muscletissue, and the balance between sodium and
potassiumions is crucial to maintain an electrical gradient which works to transport substances in
/out the cell and transmit nerve signals which consequently trigger muscle contractions.
When this balance is disrupted, the functioning of muscles is drastically affected.

Typically, the kidneys can maintain blood potassium within a health range, excreting extra when
necessary. But when one cannot efficiently eliminate excess potassium, hyperkalemia occurs.
Hyperkalaemia can result in depolarization of membrane potentials of nerve and muscle cells, due
to the increased equilibrium potential of potassium. This impairs the normal process of
depolarization; the depolarization of the membrane potentials opens several voltage gated sodium
channels; however it elevates the inactivation process. Depolarization is slowed due to the
concentration changes, which means an action potential is not generated; the process of
accommodation occurs instead. This is when nerve cells adjusts slowly to a slowly increasing

conducted over the southern part of the Nubian Sandstone Aquifer System (NSAS) (area: 835 Г—

System (NSAS) is shared by Egypt, Libya, Chad, and Sudan, and is one of the largest (area: ~ 2
Г— 106 km2) groundwatersystems in the world. Findings from the study include: (1) average
annual precipitation was estimated at 77.5 mm (65 km3); (2) recharge rate was estimated at
2.79В±0.99 km3/yr; given the annual extraction rate (~0.407В±0.10 km3), recharge rate amounted
to 3.2В±1.00 km3/yr; and (3) the east west trending Uweinat Aswan uplift impedes south to north
groundwater flow and replenishment from the recharge area in the south. A cost effective

1.Introduction
Groundwater recharge is the process of water movement downward through a saturated zone
under the force of gravity or in a direction determined by a hydraulic condition (Simmers, 1997).
Natural recharge of groundwater may occur from precipitation, from rivers and canals, or from
lakes. In arid and semi arid areas, assessment of groundwater recharge is one of the key challenges
in determining the sustainable yield of aquifers, as recharge rates are generally low in comparison
with average annual rainfall or

The Theory Of Emotional Intelligence
Howard Gardner is a Harvard graduate and developmental Psychologist who founded the theory of
multiple intelligences. There are nine different types that allow educators to identify differing
strengths and weaknesses in students. The types of intelligences include; verbal/linguistic, logical
mathematical, visual/spatial, bodily kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalistic,
and existential. Gardner has created a multiple intelligencecharter school that uses these categories
to better teach and shape young minds. Along with Gardner; there is another psychologist, Daniel
Goleman, who expanded the theory of emotional intelligenceover IQ. Emotional intelligence,
differing from multiple intelligence, is the ability to recognize one s own feelings and others
emotions and is just as important to success as multiple intelligence. Multiple intelligences will
greatly affect one s academic and professional success. Depending on which area one is strongest
in, an ideal work environment would allow for that strength to be used. For example, if an
individual were strongest in the logical mathematical intelligence, he or she would want to work
as an IT technician or a financial advisor. It s the same as if an individual had the most strength in
musical intelligence, he or she would want to be a musician or conduct an orchestra. Knowing one
s multiple intelligence could be extremely beneficial to one s academic and career success. For

Key Character Of Estella Havisham
Another key character from the novel that reflects growth and development as seen in the
bildungsroman genre is, Estella Havisham. She is the biological daughter of Abel Magwitch, a

which is ironic.
As we, travel further into her journey, the reader begins to understand that Estella has been
raised to wreak revenge on all men in order to fulfill Ms. Havisham s need to avenge herself

shaking, ground displacement and flooding are some of the hazards that are produced during an

(population density and education). I will be discussing the question using the following case

was difficult to enforce building regulations, producing a total estimated economic loss of $86b.
Making this the second mostly costly earthquake from 1900 2013. The impacts of this earthquake
were caused primarily on human factors, with adequate predicting systems and improved
infrastructure the total loss and damage could have been reduced.
From the case study above we can see that human influences were the main cause in the severity
of the impact, but that s not always the case, physical factors are just as important. This can be
seen in the great Sumatra Andaman earthquake which took place on the 26th of December 2004
and registered a 9.1 magnitude, one of the third biggest recorded quakes. The subduction of the
Indo Australian plate under the Burma plate triggered the tsunami responsible for the greatest
loss of life in a tectonic event. A 15 20m slip occurred along 1600km of fault line in two phases
over a period of around 3 4 minutes, the longest rupture ever recorded in an earthquake. The focus
was located just 30km below sea level, which resulted in serval billion tonnes of water being

European Integration of Albania
European Integration of Albania
Western European Integration
Political Science 477
Spring 2013
Research question: How far away is Albania from becoming a member state of European Union?
Albania has multiple challenges to achieve the full integrating in the European Union. But, there are
two major challenges; 1) the economic challenges and 2) the political challenges that are obligatory
to its integration in the European Union. The economy is a challenge for Albania because the
farmers industry and the food industries are underdeveloped, as a result does not meet the European
Union standers to compete ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
European Union s attention was again directed towards Albania during the Kosovo war. This was
because the European Union was promoting stability in the Balkan region. There were many pacts
that Albania has participated at the EU Meetings. Some of the pacts were; Stability pact for
southeast which was launched in 1999; the second pact was Stability and Association process for
the Western Balkan in 2000. However, these pacts were accepted, but many political issues were not
settled during these pacts between Albania and EU. Many other countries and international
organizations were supporting this, beside the European Union. Some of the countries were; United
States, Canada, Japan. On the other hand, some of the organizations supporting this pact were
organizations like NATO, International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. All countries of the
Southeastern European area are partners of the Stability Pact (Thiel, 2004) and one of the members
is Albania. Although the European integration it is difficult, with the assistance of European Union,
Albania can progress towards the European Integration and the country can be more trustworthy for
foreign investors to come and invest in Albania. But this has not been the case of Albania. Many
reforms in Albania are either not implemented or poorly implemented. This means that some
reforms

surrounding the 29 year olds life after his rampage left 49 dead. And some of these questions are
aimed at his sexual preferences in the bedroom. After such a tragic incident, looking into if
someone is gay, straight, or bisexual is pretty superficial. However, in this case it may reveal the

Antigone Why People Take Action
Why should people take action? In the play Antigone by Sophocles Antigone takes action by
burying her brother which no one was supposed to do. She did it because she felt it was only
right. People should take action whenever they feel ,there are various reasons such as their
feelings emotionally , fairness, the good well being of others, or just whenever they deem
morally correct. There are many reasons why people should take action, for example, for fairness.
Why fairness, well because fairness is everything, a lot wouldn t be right if there were no fairness,
and i feel as if everything is fair it just makes everyone happy. So when it comes down to stepping
up for fairness it plays a big role as far as taking action because you re not... Show more content on

Why, simply because if you feel you are correct about a point you re trying to prove then you
should stand on it and fight for it. For instance in the play Antigone when she was arguing with
creon, basically trying to prove his laws aren t fair. I believe this connects my main point mainly
because she saw something wrong and felt something needed to be said. On top of that, people
need to take action if they feel they are correct because if you see a problem and nothing is said
then stuff may just get worse. Another example would just be continuing off Antigone standing
up to creon, I feel as if the whole situation was demoralizing for the people until Antigone, the one
person who finally decided to say something, even with her life on the line for doing what she
did on the same hand still had plenty of people behind her. This just proves that people should
step up when they feel they are correct because when you step up you then have people to support
you the chances are you are going to win. In the end the whole point of this is to just say if you
think you are correct about something that should be done then stand for it and fight for it and
maybe in the end you may make a

Daisy stole a look at Donny. His lips were swollen, as if he d been crying (Tyler, Line 84) Donny
was upset because he felt as if his mother could not trust him even if he was telling the truth. The
relationship between Donny and his parents is demonstrated by how much the parents are trying
to work to get Donny to improve and succeed. Donny s mother is actively trying to help him to
better his grades and get him back on the right track while the father has not done much. The lack
of description of the father son interaction within the household creates the sense that the father is
very laid back and not too involved with Donny and his school work. When Daisy would try to
engage Matt and bring the issues to the father s attention, Matt would look surprised and confused

Everyone, please calm down. His words could not be heard over the loud voices of the
Chickasaw people. He put his index finger and his thumb together, put them in his mouth, all of

whistling finally stopped no sound could be heard from the Chickasaw people. You all signed
the treaty, this is where you will live from now on whether you like it or not! He yelled at the
group, Now find an empty house and move your stuff in! The Chickasaw crowd quickly

she told your father that she wanted to run away. I glared at him, ohhh, I would love to wipe that

Lushanya and I exclaimed in unison. It s not that bad here. He tried to reason with us. We both

Is There Too Much Power In The Book 1984 By George Orwell
The Government has a lot more power and control over us than you may think. According to
popularmechanics.com, there are an estimated 30 million surveillance cameras now deployed in
the United States, shooting 4 billion hours of footage a week. Americans are being watched at all
times, more than ever. George Orwells novel 1984 is a great example to what a government would
look like if it had complete surveillance and power over its citizens. The United Statesmight not be
at the same level as Big Brother in 1984 yet, but it certainly looks like it might be going in that
direction. Big Brother and the party have complete control and power over its citizens in Oceania,
a fictional country in 1984.The party uses telescreens in every citizen s room to monitor their
every move throughout the day. Telescreens are basically big cameras that hear and see everything.
This essentially takes away all the citizens of Oceania s privacy away. Nothing can be done without
big brother seeing it. The United States is not much different from oceania. Cameras are now placed
everywhere imaginable throughout the United... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Almost everyone in the United States has a smartphone with a camera. The cameras on

Rajagopalan titled That s No Phone. That s My Tracker, Cellular systems constantly check and
record the location of all phones on their networks and this data is particularly treasured by police
departments and online advertisers . This is an example how the government can access even our
smartphones. They can get private information on you if they pleased violating our right to
privacy. Every year, private companies spend millions of dollars developing new services that track,
store and share the words, movements and even thoughts of their customers states Paul Ohm in the

  • 2. Climate Change Is A Terrible Problem Big Polluter Agenda Climate change is a terrible problem, and it absolutely needs to be solved. It deserves to be a huge priority (Bill Gates). As we progress as unified communities, nations, states, cities, etc., we contribute to either a solution or to the problem. Our current government has intents to help these environmental issues yet like any other foreign policy there are two sides to every issue. By definition of foreign policy, which is the articulation of national interests and the means chosen to secure those interests both material and ideational internationally, an environmental issue is a set of predicaments with the planet s systems that have been developed due to human intrusion and mistreatment (Balyis). Environmental issues can range in many aspects from global warming, deforestation, air and water pollution, overpopulation, soil erosion, destruction of biodiversity, littering, destruction of natural habitats and natural resources, attack of marine life, oil spills, nuclear issues, acid deposition, environmental disasters, volcanic eruptions, greenhouse effect, sea level rise, fossil fuels, and species extinction. A current issue being brought up on environmental policies this year is the Big Polluter Agenda in both the House and the Senate. The Big Polluter Agenda is blocking the president s plan to reduce carbon pollution from power plants, forcing approval of the Keystone XL tar sands oil pipeline, obstructing the limits on smog, stopping the Clean Water ... The Islamic way of life is based on the teachings of its founder, Muhammad the Prophet. The Mongol Empire was one of the largest trans continental empires that existed in the 13th century. This empire originated in Central Asia, under the leadership of Genghis Khan, a Mongol tribe ruler. In this paper, I would be talking about how the spread of Islamand the rise of the Mongol Empire contributed to the formation and strengthening of the Afro Eurasian network. In the past, only the extremely devoted fans would check on their teams online but now, the norm has changed. Now the devoted fans learn new information before anyone else, and even get rewarded for it. In the article The Passion of the Fan , by Stewart Feil, fans are being rewarded for posting about their favorite teams on social media. The reason this is possible is because mobile apps have greatly contributed to the way fans follow their teams. In Sports marketing and technology with the New England Patriots , by Michael Krigsman, it reveals that fans have the capabilities of sending their favorite teams their input about the team. People are now relying on social media to find their information, and they are even spreading the news when they find out. Teams have started to capitalize on this acquired information. Feil goes into detail to show how the Detroit Pistons have managed it, A gamified app called SocialToaster that lets registered fans earn points for each item they repost to their social media feeds; those with the most points receive game tickets, team merchandise and other incentives. Teams are capitalizing on this opportunity to spread the word about themselves using prizes as incentives for devoted fans. INTRODUCTION In May of 2006, The Toyota Motor Corporation initiated a recall of nearly one million vehicles around the world to replace faulty parts that could cause drivers to lose control of the steering wheel. The recall affected vehicles across 10 models, including the popular Prius. The intermediate shafts and sliding yokes in the recalled cars lacked the necessary strength and could distort or crack under strong pressure, causing drivers to lose control of the steering wheel, according to Toyota (ConsumerAffairs.Com). These funds will likely be obtained from a bank or the owner. It is important to note they could seek help from the government given the size of the recall amount or even the general public via bond but these would be unlikely scenarios given there current cash position. Essentially, debt financing offers Toyota loan opportunities to be considered a temporary investment with a stated return to the lenders. While the term may be long or short, and potentially rolled over, it is important to note this avenue would prove less costly then equity financing. Given the history and habit, if you will, of Toyota s recall history, a short term loan rolled over as necessary would be realistic. General capitol for the recall can be raised by providing ownership of the company through equity financing. The advantage of this is essentially, the financing is forever, unless of course Toyota chose to buy back the stock. The greatest flexible advantage to Toyota with equity financing is of course the payback period is endless. Some disadvantages to equity funding for Toyota is the higher cost versus debt financing and the clear fact they cannot determine the return. The capitol appreciation of the stock and dividends, if paid, cannot be guaranteed, thus higher risk is a factor worthy of careful consideration. Although ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. King Jr Metaphors On August 28, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr., a civil rights activist, delivered his renowned speech, I Have a Dream on the Lincoln Memorial located in Washington to millions of Americans. King relied on the use of metaphors, imagery, and anaphora to establish pathos; as well as to convey his wish to live in a country where everyone has equal civil and economic rights no matter their skin color. King employs many metaphors throughout his speech to disclose emotions that can only be represented by comparing two things. The most notable example is in the beginning of his speech where he compares the lack of justice to a check with insufficient funds. By doing this, King makes his audience acknowledge that the African Americanpopulation has been deprived of its freedom. This example correlates with the rest of his speech speaking on how African Americans are treated as less than human even after being granted their freedom in 1865. To fully understand why he compares these two things the audience will need to know information regarding the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments and how they were supposed to give African American slaves equal rights. This metaphor makes the audience recognize that African Americans... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 8. Essay about Changing the Legal Driving Age to Eighteen Changing the Legal Driving Age to Eighteen Every day teens are given access to automobiles. Every day these young people go to their jobs, classes, and athletic practices. Do they all abuse their driving privileges? No. Then why restrict all teens, including the law abiding and mature, by raising the driving age? This debate reaches all across the nation, to all levels of government, and many related laws and propositions can be found. If the driving age is increased, teenagers will have more difficulty getting jobs and gaining experience. On the other hand, if the driving age is 18, new drivers will have more maturity. So the question remains, should the legal driving age be 18 years old? No, the current driving age ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Says teen Stefanie Zimmers, Honestly, I don t follow all the traffic rules (Zimmers 1). Likewise, teens need to focus on their schoolwork instead of recreational driving. The time wasted driving friends around could be better spent studying for a test. These friends are also a danger and distraction to the young, inexperienced driver. Teens need the extra couple of years to mature and become more attentive. In contrast, many believe that 16 years old is old enough to operate a motor vehicle. Many minors living with their parents face punishments, such as suspension of driving privileges, if they get a ticket or in a collision. They fear losing the ability to drive the family car if they break traffic laws, and often decide to obey the laws rather than be punished. In addition, teens need transportation to their jobs, classes, various entertainment venues, sports practices and competitions. Parents often lack the time to chauffeur the young adults to and from these places. Driving is imperative to teenage life. The ability to drive allows a teenager to be less dependent on their parents and more able to take on additional responsibilities. Without driving privileges, teens would not be able to get to the destinations previously listed. Furthermore, the common belief that teen car crashes often involve alcohol is false. ... Men, Dwarves, Elves and other creatures lived in this mysterious land. However, Gwyndor was not all a place of peace and prosperity, far off near the borders of the east, there was a land called Azurg, a land where the sun forbid to shine and simply setting foot in the land drains the life right out of you if you were not strong enough. Right in the center of Azurg there was a dark and gloomy empire filled with hundreds of thousands of fang bearing, fearsome creatures who crafted crude weapons out of metal they gained from fallen warriors whom they slayed, but in the center of the empire there was a lone tower, and in this tower there was a conjurer of dark magic whom no man had ever seen, for once you saw him, you never escaped with your life. This sorcererremained nameless because no one could describe him because no one ever got a look at him before his or her time was ended. No one ever knew what that creature was doing up in his tower but one day nearly fifty years ago this good world figured it out. One day the sorcererreleased darkness over all the land of Gwyndor, all the villages and towns of Gwyndor were destroyed and none who stood up to him succeeded. Their philosophy about life and the methods used in traditional medicine practice constitutes a significant part of Chinese civilization s history. Part of this traditional medicine, with deep roots in Chinese culture, is the cupping therapy; which has been successfully applied since ancient times and has immediate positive effects. Therefore before discussing in detail the Chinese cupping therapy is imperative to understand the philosophical elements behind the traditional Chinese medicine. These philosophical elements that gave rise to the development of traditional Chinese Medicine are as follow: essential Qi, Yin Yang and the Five Elements. (China.org.cn) The essential Qi, in traditional Chinese medicine is classified in two categories: normal Qi and the evil Qi. While the normal Qi is part inborn, part inherited from parents and part acquired through food essence and the air, therefore essential for daily life activities and body s resistance against disease; on the other hand the evil Qi is very harmful to health. The explanation for evil Qi being harmful to health is that it comprises of various pathogenic factors such as: excessive wind, cold or heat. All these abnormal atmospheric changes are considered being the evil Qi. Thus, in this context, disease is defined as being a process of struggle between the normal Qi and the evil Qi. The Yellow Emperor s Classic of Internal Medicine book explains Qi by saying: If genuine qi prevails, attack of evil qi never avails. Since Qi is said to be invisible and its role is to act as the motive force in support for all kinds of life activities, the word Qi itself, in traditional Chinese medicine is translated into English as vital energy . ... • 13. The Concept Of Learning Process 3.LEARNING PROCESS APPROACH David Korten stated the concept of learning process in 1980. According to him, the process of learning is continuous and involved not only planners and implementers, but rural people. The goal of this approach is to develop capabilities through developing ideas, for making decisions and creating continual innovations. The process includes the areas of technology and organization or even a mix of both. The learning process serves an alternative to the blueprint approach, taking into account the particular context of the project. (Krishna et al., 1998) The possibility of embracing error is another particular characteristic of this approach. The use of small scale projects generates a substantive knowledge about the factors of success and the elements to improve in any stage of the development programs. For completing this process, the individuals in the project must document the findings and develop a structured system of learning which would be the base for building the local capabilities. This usually explains the tendency to slowly start the programs which use the learning process approach. The local capabilities construction becomes the main resource for the sustainability of the project through the development of the self reliance. The projects of development usually include an assisted process for generating this condition of self reliance. Individuals in rural communities should understand that they are responsible for their resources and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, people have a tendency to reason either external forces or internal forces more than the other for outcomes. Julian Rotter called this dimension locus of control, the extent to which people will perceive outcomes as internally controllable or externally controlled (Myers, 2013, p. 57). If a person attributes outcomes to mostly his or her own control, he or she is said to have an internal locus of control; if a person attributes outcomes to mostly external forces, the person is said to have an external locus of control. Hamlet s relationship with Ophelia is another example. She is different than Gertrude and Hamlet wants his mother to be jealous. Hamlet s sexual desire for his mother, according to critics, is the reason why he cannot revenge his father. Only when Gertrude dies Hamlet kills Claudius. But Hamlet was written when Freud had not been born and his theory about oedipal complex cannot be applied to Hamlet. It is not likely that Shakespeare knew about this complex while he was writing Hamlet. • 21. The Pros And Cons Of Modern Censorship Duy Nguyen 10/26/17 Prof. Ferrier Watson ENGL 1302 Modern Censorship What is censorship? Censorship means the process to examine a work, a piece of art, etc... in order to suppress or delete any object in it that may seem objectionable or harmful. But why is there censorship? Writing has always been a risky venture, fraught with ethical, political and financial pitfalls. If we look at the history of the world writing, we can see that it is filled with examples of censorship in many aspects ( political, social, personal ) and the authors of those writing have often risked much for the sake of their written words and for the sake of their readers. So is censorship right or wrong? To me, however, I think that there is no clear answer to that question, for censorship has its fair balance of advantages and disadvantages to its certain limit. A lot of people said censorship is right, cause it keeps the young generation safe from the words that might ruin their mind, but some said censorship is unnecessary because of it just words and sooner or later all kids will hear and know what those words mean. In my opinion, some part of censorship is good but it depends on the limit that is taken and how extreme censorship goes. I do agree with one advantage that most people also agree about is that censorship helps protects the young, the innocent and the vulnerable. It is built on the premise that we don t always know what is good for us, we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Five Forces Analysis Of Nestle Industry Environment Five Forces I.Threat of New Entrants Moderately High The food processing industry is very large and competitive; it is not uncommon for firms within the industry to do quite well. Luckily for NestlГ©, the company has been around for decades and boasts a long history of quality products and consumer satisfaction, which has allowed the company to obtain a considerable share of the market. It is demonstrated in accelerated investment activity in the 2000 s which indicates long term commitment in markets where Nestle operates, and construction of 16 factories from 1993 2006 in China to meet consumer demand. Christopher Nolan produced a free adaptation of the shorty story, although the movie itself grasped the general concept it didn t exactly stay true to the little details presented throughout the short story. One of the ways this is done in the movie is through Nolan s editing. Nolan made the movie in reverse chronological order. This was done this way so the audience could connect more with the character Leonard. A cost effective integrated approach is developed to quantify the modern recharge of the NSAS during the period from January 2003 to December 2012. 1.Introduction Groundwater recharge is the process of water movement downward through a saturated zone under the force of gravity or in a direction determined by a hydraulic condition (Simmers, 1997). Natural recharge of groundwater may occur from precipitation, from rivers and canals, or from lakes. In arid and semi arid areas, assessment of groundwater recharge is one of the key challenges in determining the sustainable yield of aquifers, as recharge rates are generally low in comparison with average annual rainfall or ... As soon as we walked through the door we heard, How are you? Welcome to the Cheesecake Factory . We were taken to our table by our hostess and then we were asked a drink order. Our drinks were received and the order was taken in a timely manner. The server was very knowledgeable of the menu and was very polite while taking our order. We were told our order would be put right in, and the drinks with the complimentary bread came in no time. Then the food arrived and we began to eat. As we ate our meal the server came over twice to check on us and get us refills. We asked for our check and it was received and paid very quickly. • 38. The Theory Of Emotional Intelligence Howard Gardner is a Harvard graduate and developmental Psychologist who founded the theory of multiple intelligences. There are nine different types that allow educators to identify differing strengths and weaknesses in students. The types of intelligences include; verbal/linguistic, logical mathematical, visual/spatial, bodily kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalistic, and existential. Gardner has created a multiple intelligencecharter school that uses these categories to better teach and shape young minds. Along with Gardner; there is another psychologist, Daniel Goleman, who expanded the theory of emotional intelligenceover IQ. Emotional intelligence, differing from multiple intelligence, is the ability to recognize one s own feelings and others emotions and is just as important to success as multiple intelligence. Multiple intelligences will greatly affect one s academic and professional success. Depending on which area one is strongest in, an ideal work environment would allow for that strength to be used. For example, if an individual were strongest in the logical mathematical intelligence, he or she would want to work as an IT technician or a financial advisor. It s the same as if an individual had the most strength in musical intelligence, he or she would want to be a musician or conduct an orchestra. Knowing one s multiple intelligence could be extremely beneficial to one s academic and career success. For example, If an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Key Character Of Estella Havisham Another key character from the novel that reflects growth and development as seen in the bildungsroman genre is, Estella Havisham. She is the biological daughter of Abel Magwitch, a convicted criminal, which in the Victorian era, would have depicted her as being in the very lowest level of society, even lower than Pip. However, at the age of three, she was adopted, by Ms. Havisham, a wealthy, bitter and vengeful woman, having being jilted at her wedding. Despite, the idea heroine in a Bildungsroman being described as soft, caring and feminine, Estella is described as being cold and distant. Estella believed herself to be superior to Pip, due to his status, which is ironic. As we, travel further into her journey, the reader begins to understand that Estella has been raised to wreak revenge on all men in order to fulfill Ms. Havisham s need to avenge herself against the male species. It is also seen during Estella s most informative years, for whilst she has gratitude and understands her duty towards Ms. Havisham as well as wanting to seek approval, she starts to change and refuses to please Ms. Havisham as she recognizes how she was manipulated. • 40. Discuss the View That the Impact of Earthquake Hazards... Discuss the view that the impact of earthquake hazards depends primarily on human factors (40) . I agree to some extent about the statement above and that human factors can affect the impact of an earthquake hazard. A hazard is an object or process that has the potential to cause harm. Ground shaking, ground displacement and flooding are some of the hazards that are produced during an earthquake. In relation to the question above the type and severity of the impact can be affected by physical factors (such as the magnitude and frequency of the quake) as well as human factors (population density and education). The impacts of this earthquake were caused primarily on human factors, with adequate predicting systems and improved infrastructure the total loss and damage could have been reduced. From the case study above we can see that human influences were the main cause in the severity of the impact, but that s not always the case, physical factors are just as important. This can be seen in the great Sumatra Andaman earthquake which took place on the 26th of December 2004 and registered a 9.1 magnitude, one of the third biggest recorded quakes. People should take action whenever they feel ,there are various reasons such as their feelings emotionally , fairness, the good well being of others, or just whenever they deem morally correct. There are many reasons why people should take action, for example, for fairness. Why, simply because if you feel you are correct about a point you re trying to prove then you should stand on it and fight for it. For instance in the play Antigone when she was arguing with creon, basically trying to prove his laws aren t fair. I believe this connects my main point mainly because she saw something wrong and felt something needed to be said. On top of that, people need to take action if they feel they are correct because if you see a problem and nothing is said then stuff may just get worse. Another example would just be continuing off Antigone standing up to creon, I feel as if the whole situation was demoralizing for the people until Antigone, the one person who finally decided to say something, even with her life on the line for doing what she did on the same hand still had plenty of people behind her. This just proves that people should step up when they feel they are correct because when you step up you then have people to support you the chances are you are going to win. In the end the whole point of this is to just say if you think you are correct about something that should be done then stand for it and fight for it and maybe in the end you may make a ...
