Nucleic Acid Investigation
The purpose of the introductory activity was to analyze the pH of a mixture of a strong base and
weak acid. The purpose of the guided inquiry lab was to analyze the concentration of sodium
carbonate by titrating the substance using a nitic acid solution.
Introductory Activity
5 mL of both 0.2 M ammonia and 0.1 M acetic acid were placed in separate test tubes and their pH
was determined with pH paper. A mixture was created by pouring both together and its final pH
was recorded. The strength of the acid and base was determined and whether the two had equal
concentration. Each indicator was researched (its colors when it s acidic/basic and its pH
transition range) and phenolphthalein was deemed suitable for this experiment. 5 mL of acetic
acid was poured into a test tube and 1 2 drops of phenolphthalein were added. The initial color
was recorded. 10 mL of ammonia was obtained in a graduated cylinder and using the graduated
pipet, the base was added to the acid in 1 mL increments. Upon reaching the equivalence point, the
indicator color and the amount of base required to obtain this point were recorded. The relative
concentrations of the acid and base were then estimated.

The indicator methyl red was deemed appropriate. A 60 mL Poorman s buret was placed on a
support stand above a beaker with a magnetic stirrer. The sides of the beaker and flask were
rinsed with water. 100 mL of nitric acid was collected and placed in the beaker below the buret.
Approximately 3 drops of methyl red indicator were added. After being rinsed with water and
sodium carbonate, the buret was filled with 60 mL of nitric acid. The beaker was placed 2 cm
under the buret. Then the sodium carbonate was titrated until the methyl red changed from red to
yellow. The final buret reading was recorded to determine the final volume of the base. The titration
data was used to graph a titration

Cosmic Creation Myths Across Cultures
HUM/105
January 8, 2014 Cosmic Creation Myths Across Cultures The study of mythology is used to
describe stories from various cultures to describe certain events or pneumonias that may have
taken place. Some cultures have changed the myths over time. Never the less, every Culture has
its own opinion on the creation of the world. Most of the myths have similarities and differences
on how the revolution of the world began. In this paper, the two myths focused on are the Zulu
Creation and the Inca Creation. Below will explain which world or worlds, such as sky, earth, and
underworld, the creators, and the role of cosmic occurrences of the two myths. The similarities will
also be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Zulu Creation is the same as a pregnancy. Starting from a seed that starts to grow, which when
done creates mankind. The seed is thought to of fallen from the sky to impregnate the earth. The
Inca Creation starts with the sun rising from heaven and earth. Fire, water, and earth are the
elements that create this story representing the sun.
Comparing the Two In both myths, they both created mankind. Zulu creates mankind from a seed
that grew while Inca created mankind from stone using rock from a mountain. Both creations
taught mankind how to hunt, make clothes, and essentially survive. In the two creation stories, the
world is created as the gods are born. The two creation myths revolved around water, and those
two creation myths can relate to their culture because water is important to both creation. The
differences between Zulu and Inca creation are the cultures and the location. Zulu is in the region
of South Africa. On the other hand, Inca creation is from South America. Zulu was in the 16th
century where they were farmer and herder. Inca was like the Aztec people they inhabited South
America and became a farmer. The two creations believed in God and both prayed every day to
their God.
Conclusion
While every myth is different, they all have similarities about the creation of mankind. Some myths
of creation are talked about as a culture relations that have changed over time. While others are

In fact, improving the financial performances and conditions of the business will aid in modeling,
planning, and control. Even though financial problems can occur, planning and observing the
budget will allow us to adjust and fix any issues that may arise along the way.
If the company continues to uphold integrity and professionalism and deliver exceptional care in
need, the financial outcome for UHS will defiantly remain positive, but if the company does not,
then it will be negative. Getting expenses under control and increasing spending value will
generate positive financial outcomes for UHS as long the budget is performing effectively. On the
other hand, if the finances are recorded improperly or not documented at all, then this will lead to a
negative budgeting performance. The high level budget plan for Universal Health Services consists
of an extraordinary strategic design. The budgeting phases include formulation, approval,
execution, and evaluating. All of these phases play a vital role in the organizations budget and rely
on each other in order for the business to achieve its goals successfully. Therefore, the company has
agreed that all sections should be monitored and followed appropriately so that we can continue the

How Does Rob Sitch Use Satire In The Hollowman

purpose of satire it to use amusement to expose humanity s various vices and shortcomings, and in
doing so critique the prevailing social norms and attitudes. Political satire, in particular, humorously
engages with the responder to represent a comment on the vices and foibles of the political systems,
through an insight in to the ethical ambiguity within the internal machinations of politics. Rob

The Importance Of Listening As A Servant Leader
Discussion Following this further, we will discuss the remarks of various authors about the
importance of listening as a servant leader, as well as how it is effected by emotional intelligence.
It is also important that we compare and contrast the various viewpoints on this subject, before we
answer the research questions based on this literature.
Listening
First, we will review the literature from various authors on why listening is important as a servant
leader. As mentioned earlier, Spears (2002), illustrated how listening was a critical aspect of
servant leadership, and the first in his list of ten elements which were vital in regard to the
development of servant leaders (loc. 119). This identification as a crucial element of servant
leadership, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Emotional intelligence is a term that Daniel Goleman coined to describe a bundle of
psychological attributes that many strong and effective leaders exhibit (Hill, Jones, Schilling,
2014, p. 32). As described by Hill et al. (2014), emotional intelligence incorporates self
awareness, self regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills (p. 32). In contrast, Covey
(2002) lists only empathy and awareness as one of his ten characteristics of servant leaders.
Daniel Goleman also goes on to mention that leaders who have these traits are more successful
than those who do not. In Goleman s view, people respect leaders who, because they are self
aware, recognize their own limitations and, because they are self regulating, consider decisions
carefully (Hill et al., 2014, p. 32). He goes on to describe how motivation helps persuade others
towards a leader s vision. Finally, strong empathy and social skills can help leaders earn the loyalty
of subordinates (Hill et al., 2014, p.

Telecommuting Simulation
Recently there has been a growing request for options to telework/telecommute in various
departments within the company. I recommend the Human Resource department adopt a policy
that will include procedures for selection criteria, approval of planned schedule, work, or project,
and managerial oversight. To meet the needs of our employees we recognize having more
flexibility in work schedules will alleviate work and family conflict by adopting a policy around
telecommuting(Pynes, 2014, pg 265). Having a formal policy in place will minimize any misuse of
this perceived benefit and will ensure all requests are considered fairly.
Telecommuting for our agency will be defined as an employee is working away from the office
for one or more days within a given week (Managing pg. 9). Employees will be permitted to work
from home or elsewhere if they prefer. By allowing telecommuting we are reducing the amount of
travel time required for those who may need greater flexibility in their schedule. As well as giving

Telecommuting has been shown to reduce absenteeism, improve retention, and reduce recruitment
costs for the organization (Family, pg. 730). Increased employee moral is also a benefit associated
with telecommuting (Professional Isolation, pg. 512). Offering this new benefit that is such a
satisfier for employees will likely result in reduced turnover within the organization and higher
productivity. A study found pubic employees who were satisfied with their telework/telecommuting
benefits were less likely to leave their positions (Family pg. 732). With the reduction of office time,
an increase in employee productivity is likely due to fewer interruptions from fellow employees
(Lessons pg. 10). With telecommuting having benefits to both the employer and employee, this
new policy should bring positive results to the

Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama Essay example
Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama
Over the past few decades, there have been many political problems in Tibet. This can be
attributed to the ongoing problem between Tibet and China. Tibet had previously, for many years,
been faced with occupation by the forces of the People s Republic of China in their land. This was
very alarming to many people, including the highly respected Dalai Lama of Tibet. The Dalai Lama
has been a very influential person in Tibet s history and many of the decisions he has made have
directly affected the outcome of certain situations pertaining to the relationship between Tibet and
China. The Dalai Lama, in Tibetan Buddhism, is a lineage of reborn magistrates which traces all
the way back to the year 1391. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After extensive searching, the monks found the house of the current Dalai Lama. They analyzed
him thoroughly and after he passed certain tests, they decided he was the next Dalai Lama. The
Dalai Lama, as the previous ones chosen before him had done, began his monastic education at
the young age of six. During his adolescent years, he was very unhappy. He missed his family
very much and did not experience what would be considered a normal childhood . However, the
person in charge of him [the Regent] let him sneak away to spend times with his parents,
choosing to ignore these excursions. By the time the Dalai Lama was fifteen years old, he was
being considered the spiritual and temporal leader of Tibet. He was then invested with full powers
as head of the state of Tibet and enthroned as temporal leader of Tibet after there was a large threat
from communist China. The following years, he set up numerous delegations and negotiations with
the Chinese. However, Tibetan armed resistance began growing as the threat of the People s
Republic of China overtaking Tibet became more prevalent. Tibet had always been seen as its own
sovereign state. The Government of Tibet charged taxes, issued its own currency, ran its postal
system, issued postage stamps, commanded Tibet s small army, and generally conducted all affairs
of government.. Although the system worked perfectly for the Tibetans, it was an ancient form of

Role Of Women s Sexuality In Romantic Films
Pressure on Women s Sexuality
Another issue women audience members have to deal with while watching rom coms is sexuality.
Sex sells, honey and it knows no boundaries certainly not in certain chick flicks.
Audiences of both genders are hardly immune to the commercial powers of oversexualization.
(Thompson,45). Many different genres of film have sexual themes in their plot. Chick flick share
this in common with other films. Hollywood knows what makes money in the movie industry and

Informal Expressions For The Homelessness
Informal Expressions
Range: There are a multitude of ways that actions are taken outside of the government and other
formal systems. Those being the hundreds of advocacy groups, charities, and nonprofit
organizations across the country. People are always holding fundraisers for organizations dedicated
to helping this population and to collect products and clothes for the homeless. These organizations
collect anything from everyday clothes, to hygiene products like menstrual pads and toothpaste, to
medical items like Neosporin and Band Aids. Some individual actions that are taken are to donate
these necessary items to organizations or give them directly to the homeless population. People can
also volunteer their time providing food by working at a homeless shelter, food bank, or soup
kitchen. Others, may work at transitional services that help train homeless people to work certain
jobs, pay their bills, or acquire skills such as gardening. Alternately, people may feel passionate
about educating others about homelessness and the stereotypes and stigma that surround these
individuals, especially those who also have mental health issues.
Since mental health services are difficult for most of the homeless population to access, many
groups and individuals use political activism to encourage access to these services. Local mental
health clinics work to provide free or low cost mental health care for the homeless but since they

disparity created through economic oppression and cultural exploitation. Language issue is the
most crucial issue because it was important to have one sole official national language. To some

Therefore, because of this language issue, language movement were set up and riots also took

In the 1607, the Virginia Company sent three ships over to America in search of finding gold and
silver. This first permanent settlement, Jamestown, was founded in the Chesapeake Bay region.
After the land had failed to produce gold or silver, the Virginia Company began to sell the land for
property which started the colonization of what is to start the spark of the thirteen colonies. Great
Britain began to colonize in the present day United States of America by creating the Thirteen
Colonies. The colonies, which can be divided into three separate regions: Northern, Middle, and
Southern, have been formed by different groups of people who have helped to shape the region
which they belong to. Colonist came over in search of many opportunities. Opportunities to find
new jobs and religious freedom gave the colonist hope while travelling across the Atlantic. The
cultural blend that made up the colonies led to different colonies to form amongst them. The
geographical characteristics of the colonial regions helped shape what the colony is most beneficial
for. The northern colonies consist of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New
Hampshire. The northern region had poor soil and a harsh climate. The cold climate helped prevent
the spread deadly diseases from infecting the people.
The middle region of the colonies consisted of New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New
Jersey. These colonies had a more temperate climate which benefited them to have a longer growing

Essay on Japanese Internment in Canada
The core of the Japanese experience in Canada lies in the shameful and almost undemocratic
suspension of human rights that the Canadian government committed during World War II. As a
result, thousands of Japanese were uprooted to be imprisoned in internment camps miles away from
their homes. While only a small percentage of the Japaneseliving in Canada were actually nationals
of Japan, those who were Canadian born were, without any concrete evidence, continuously being
associated with a country that was nothing but foreign to them. Branded as enemy aliens , the
Japanese Canadianssoon came to the realization that their beloved nation harboured so much hate
and anti Asian sentiments that Canada was becoming just as foreign to them as... Show more content

The initial reaction to Pearl Harbor was to take cautious emergency actions to avert civil unrest.
Soon, the Canadian government passed the War Measures Act. It gave permission to intern all
undesirable Japanese, tie up every Japanese owned fishing boat in British Columbia, close all
Japanese language schools, forbid the publishing of newspapers in Japanese, and seize all Japanese
property. All of which were subsequently carried out. In 1941, there were twenty three thousand
five hundred Japanese persons in Canada, residing mainly on the coast of British Columbia. Of
that, six thousand seven hundred were Canadian born, seven thousand were naturalized citizens,
and the rest were nationals of Japan. However, nothing could make any difference. To the typical,
white British Columbian, the Japanese were all lower class citizens. Five hours after the attack on
Pearl Harbour, forty eight Japanese planes bombed Hong Kong where two Canadian battalions were
stationed, and were inflicted with heavy casualties. The problem of the resident Japanese in British
Columbia was then quickly set into the mainstream focus. Prior to declaring war on Japan,
Mackenzie King had stated that the enemy country had wantonly and treacherously attacked British
territory, and that Japan s actions [were] a threat to the defence and freedom of Canada.

Rubella and Neonatal Effects Essay example
Rubella and Neonatal Effects Rubella is an essentially harmless disease that resembles measles,
however, it is highly teratogenic to a developing fetus. If a pregnant woman contracts rubella, the
fetus is at risk to develop Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS) which can result in tissue and organ
damage. Proper nursing interventions and teaching should be done to prevent the spread of rubella
and to lower the rates of CRS.
A History and Epidemiology for Rubella
Until the 18th century, rubella was often confused with measles and scarlet fever. In 1952 and
1958, two German scientist were able to isolate the rubella virus and it was given the name German
Measles until 1866 when a Scottish physician gave it the name Rubella (Duszack, ... Show more

After sixteen weeks of gestation, the risk of fetal death, malformation, and miscarriage is much
less. Since the effects of CRS vary with gestational age at the time of infection, accurate gestational
dating should be established, as it is critical to counseling (Dontigny, Arsenault, Martel, 2008, p.
155).
Consequences of Maternal Infection for Unborn Fetus
The rubella Virus is very teratogenic, and should a maternal infection occur, the developing fetus
might develop congenital rubella syndrome. As said earlier, amount of injury to the developing
fetus is highly dependent on what stage of development the fetus is in. The rubella virus targets all
organs and tissues of the body and has a wide range of effects.
Tests to determine Maternal and Fetal Infection
Tests can be done to determine maternal or fetal infection of the rubella virus. According to
Dontigny et al. (2008) if maternal infection is suspected, a serology test using enzyme linked
immunoassay (ELISA) is used to test for rubella specific IgM and IgG antibodies in maternal
blood. A rise in rubella IgG antibodies, a positive serologic test for IgM antobodies and a positive
rubella culture are essential to maternal diagnosis of infection (Dontigny et al., 2008). If maternal
infection has been determined, test to determine if the virus has spread to the fetus should be
performed

The Importance Of Your Role In Society
Dear little girl, as you grow up you will learn that your role in society has been limited to specific
roles. You will learn very on that your sole purpose in life is to be of benefit to a man. In
elementary school you will be told that, if a young boy hits you this is his way of showing you
that he likes you. You will learn much more about boys before you learn anything about your
sexuality. When you eventually learn, it ll be mandated through the eyes of man. You will find
that you do not have autonomy over your body but that you must always be aware of the ways
in which your body affects men. You may be told that you should cover up so that grown men
will not be tempted . As you get older you will become more aware of beauty politics. Because of
society s deep investment into physical beauty, you too will naturally become deeply invested
into your body. And this will not be your fault, but because of this you will internalize that your
physical appearance is much more valuable than yourself as a person. Often this will be
reiterated through popular culture and media. More importantly from this you will learn that if
nothing else, you have your looks. But beyond this you will realize that society s ideal beauty
standards will not apply to you. School may become a place where you are either objectified for
fitting into what society has defined as beautiful or you may be humiliated for not fitting into the
normative of beauty. If you are of a fair complexion and

The Pros And Cons Of Being Against Open Marriage
Reasons why everyone should be against open marriage is because you married the person that
you wanted to love and spend the rest of your life with. You are breaking the marital vows. When
marrying someone you are making a commitment to be loyal. According to J.B. Chachila, What we
commit to be not just to take on that person, to uphold that person s dream, and to meet that person
s needs. We actually commit to becoming one that person. When people have a open marriageis
when one companion breaks the pre established rules of marriage. Open marriages show that
your love and commitment should be questioned because why marry someone when all they
want to do is go out and do things with other people while married. If two people are perfect for
each other than they shouldn t be in an open marriage because they are together because they are
supposedly perfect for each other. If you aren t happy with the person you are currently married
to then what was the point of marrying them in the first place. Before you are officially you say
special marital vows to each other to promise that you be there for better or for worse, in sickness
and in health. According to Romans 7:3, Accordingly, she will be called an adulteress if she lives
with another man while her husbandis alive. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and
if she marries another man she is not an adulteress. The reason everyone says vows is because
they are supposed to show a public proclamation of

I M an Entertainment Person
The term mise en scene is used to signify the director s control over what appears in the film frame
(1) and covers such elements as setting, lighting, costume and the movement and actions of figures
appearing within the film.
The iconic Citizen Kane (Welles, 1941), a biopic that traces the life of fictional newspaper magnate
Charles Kane, uses the elements of mise en scene to reinforce loss as a recurring theme throughout
the film. As a faceless reporter goes about collecting personal recounts of Kane, the stories told
suggest that throughout the majority of his life, Kane was moving inevitably toward [an inner state
of] bitterness, disappointment and loss (2).

After watching it, and knowing more about true appreciation of film I get it, so to speak.
Watching a film takes so much more than just escaping from your own life for a few hours.
Being able to turn your brain off and say, Ok. I get to live in this other world for the day. This is
my life for a day. Film is only about escaping in the sense that a message must escape from the
scenes, and the story as a whole. It may never cross the lips of any of the characters, or be
written in white on a black screen (as in black and whites), and it won t be mystically entered
into your computerized mind, or sent as a message to your iPhone. No...to get the message of the
film you have to watch and know what to look for the subtle nuances and the mise en scene,
everything that is in a particular frame, because those are the clues and you are the detective. You
must find universal truth and your own personal growth from what you take from the movie.
Some movies do a poor job of sending a message and those are the movies that people watch and
forget to learn from them. Other are too complex. Citizen Kane is perfect because you can learn
everything you ever needed to know about how to analyze a film from it, and it is such a
beautifully simple story, with complex characters, making the everyday important, just as it should
be in our own lives.

Leadership Styles During The Workplace
Different leadership styles result in various results in the workplace. The Fiedler contingency
model postulates a leader s style is static; however, God can transform anyone s heart and thus
their leadership style. Additionally, the grapevine can be an important tool for employers. As long
as each individual chooses to use gossip for honorable purposes, God will bless the workplace.

Approaches to Leadership
There are many different ways in which individuals lead. Whether implicit or by choice, the
style and the way it is applied can lead to success or failure in the workplace. My boss and I
approach leadership in completely different ways. While my boss leans toward only a
transactional style, specifically Laissez faire, or management by exception, I prefer a combination
of transactional and translational styles. According to Robbins and Judge (2012), Laissez faire is
the most passive and therefore least effective of leader behaviors (Robbins Judge, 2012, p. 382).
Additionally, management by exception is somewhat better, however it remains one of the weakest
leadership styles. Leaders using this style fail to be engaged with the employees unless and until
there is an issue requiring their

Advantages Of Self-Service Technologies
Self Service Technologies are the technologies which make customers operate the service by
themselves without the helping of employees (Meuter et al. 2000). Currently, SST has already
been used in online operation which is familiar to customers, they always shopping(Childers et
al. 2001), buy tickets or reserve a service by using company s official websites. It is more
convenient because it is not limited by the location and time, consumers could operate at any
time. Moreover, SST is also adapted in the offline procedures. For example, the Automatic Teller
Machine when people withdraw the money, the self service machine in the kiosk when people
buy the goods, and also the stores for the customers to purchase in the offline store, etc. The
advantage of SST is that it could recognize customers preferences and provide the customized
services for them in the next time. Therefore, SST is a new way which replaces the traditional
method to serve customers, it not only benefits customers but also the corporate. In some way, the
easy process of service could reduce the cost for the company(Carline,... Show more content on

Therefore, the method to attract customers to keep interest in using SST is the most important
stage of the application of SST. Some authors focus more on how customers use and adapt the SST
by studying the factors of habit, self Efficacy, and satisfaction(Wang, C., Harris, J., Patterson, P.,
2013). It could be better for the company to know customers acceptance of SST in terms of
consumers point of view. Moreover, some other researchers identified the approaches of adoptionof
SST from the sight of the company. Stockdale, R. (2007) focus more on how to manage the
customer relationship in the self service environment of e tourism. It is important to keep a good
relationship with the customers, in that case, customers would keep a good mouth to the company

Ted Talk Essay
When it comes to choice it always seems to be a love hate relationship: we hate making them,
but we can t live without them. Anyone can all look back to a time in our lives where they wish
someone could just pick for us, or times when we wish there were more to choose from. All
Americans have many choices, and it is such a part of our daily lives that we don t even realize it.
Barry Schwartz and Sheena Iyengar s TEDtalks bring up interesting ideas about choice, how people
deal with them and their affects. They both state that although choice is good, it can also have
negative effects. Schwartz explains what most people believe and experience with choice, while
Iyengar shows cultural differences in choice making. Both Schwartz and Iyengar... Show more

The second is the more choices the more likely that the best choice can be made, and the third
assumption is that you should never say no to choice. Iyengard evaluates these three
assumptions with various studies where one group is American and the other is another culture.
Her studies help understand why and how Americans make choices in comparison to the rest of
the world. Without doubt, Iyengard s studies and analysis on choice is interesting but Schwartz
s was clearer because it easily communicated the message that was more applicable to the public.
Choices are an important part of everyone s lives and the choices we make can reflex who we
are as individuals. Choice and the ability to choose are excellent and can represent a sense of
freedom. Schwartz s and Iyengard s analysis on choice focused on the effects of choice in people
and how people react and deal with it. Schwartz s Official Dogma and explanation of how
Americans act in response to choice making is the most relatable to individuals and clearly
chows the consequences of too much choice. His analysis can assist to people realize that maybe
because we have more choice doesn t necessarily mean we will make us happier or the best

Public Policy Analysis Model
1.Public policy is a set of laws that are enacted to reach a specific goal. These goals are genuinely
made to be for the interest of the greater good, and the majority of people. For example, the
policy for red light cameras in Rochester was enacted to help reduce the accident rates from
people running red lights. Even though this causes people to pay fees for getting caught by the
cameras, the greater good is helped because there are less traffic accidents. Public policyhelps steer
the country in the ways that our great minds think would be the best direction for the majority.
a.Discussed in class were 6 models of policy making. The first is the institutional model, it stresses

Policy analysis is different from academic research as academic research is done through
conducting studies on samples that are usually from a much small grouped that policy analysts use.
Academic researchers usually do not have access to the same resources that government employees
will have available. However, they could generally be used in a similar manner, just on a smaller
scale. Journalism however is much different than policy analysis. Journalist while able to find
credible sources, it is harder for them to substantiate their claims. Journalist usually conduct their
research through interviews rather than sample testing which is considered not as reliable.

Dallas, Texas State Of Texas Essay
Briefly Dallas
Dallas is one of the largest and most developed cities in the state of Texas in the United States.
Dallas is the 4th largest city in the United States because of its downtown location, and is also the
city with the world s largest airport. Dallas, the largest city after Houston and San Antonio, is also
one of the top ten cities in the United States. The city is located in the middle of a desert and is
literally revived.
Dallas, a Texas state, deserves more attention with its dynamic cityscape, recent history, and
colorful life with its cowboys, though many of Turk dig into the minds of the same name
phenomenon TV series. Dallas has a place for me if I receive a chance to make a trip to Texas.
The first thing to notice is the regular city of Dallas. As far as I am concerned as a Turkish that we
ought to know these about Dallas briefly.
When we call Dallas, the famous series, especially at middle aged people, is taken at the
Southfork Ranch in J.R, Sue Ellen, Bobby and Pamela Ranch. Southfork Ranch Farm is home to
events such as weddings, meetings and meals. It can also be visited like a museum.
Dallas is famous for its cowboys. The history of cowboys is quite interesting. The ancestors of
cowboys are not Americans, but Mexicans in North America. Even if we go back further, we see
that their ancestors are from Spain to North America.
With the discovery of oil and the construction of railways, Dallas has become a center of attraction

French American Dream Essay
Traveling has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. Imagine strolling down a sidewalk being
surrounded by the twinkling lights of world famous monuments and chapels. Hearing an elegant,
but virgin language from inside the cafe serving cultural cuisine. As an American it is natural to feel
so out of place, but so comfortable with the surroundings in the stylish environment. Being 5000
miles from home has never felt so native.
France to me has always been a country I would love to visit. French is the language of love and
the way the pronunciation of the simplest words rolls off the tongue is so fascinating. To able to
study the language at such an up front and personal point of view would be an honor and humble
experience. The delectable French food, however would be the best part in my opinion. One of my
main points of traveling around is to be able to indulge in the different meals one wouldn t
normally find or prepare in my kitchen. It is well known for the French chefs to care a lot about
their food and prepare every meal with delicacy and perfectionism. The country is known for its
rich history in culinary arts and offer a wide spectrum of types of food there. Like me, this is every

educational methodologies to improve inter professional collaborative practice. IPE is integral
in a healthcare environment, and serves to allow individuals within the healthcare profession to

observation, abstract conceptualisation and active experimentation. After having exchanged
pleasantries, individuals seemed coy and as theorised by Tuckman (1965), it was inherent that
our team was in the forming stage of development within a small group. Polite and perfunctory

Class Twitch Recombination Essay
Somatic hypermutations and Class Switch Recombination.
When B cells have successfully rearranged their IgH and IgL loci and express a BCR they will
leave the bone marrow as immature B cells and become transitional B cells that migrate to
secondary lymphoid tissues. In the lymphoid tissues B cells may be exposed to antigen and the
initial antigen encounter will initiate a dynamic cascade of cell signalling events that ultimately
promotes cellular activation and proliferation57 60. In the secondary lymphoid organs this area of
B cell expansion is a visible structure and termed the germinal centre (GC)61. As B cells divide,
their receptor undergoes somatic hypermutation (SHM); a mechanism whereby the IgH and IgL
genes are hypermutated and fine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
SHM occurs by two mechanisms: 1) DNA replication reads the uracil as a thymidine and pairs it
with an adenine which results in a C to T or G to A transition. This type of mutation only requires
AID activity68, 69. 2) Uracil is a pyrimidine normally found in RNA and the base excision repair
system will therefore attempt to correct the mistake by removing the uracil. This creates an abasic
site in the DNA strand. The removal of the uracil is executed by an enzyme called uracil N
glycosylase (UNG)70, 71. In the abasic site a random nucleotide may be inserted leading to both
transitions (G:C into A:T) and transversions (G:C into C:G)68. Ultimately, for both mechanisms it
is the misreading of a low fidelity polymerase that is responsible for the introduction of the point
mutation72, 73. AID only binds single stranded (ss) DNA and thus only functions on actively
transcribed alleles where transcription temporarily separates of the two DNA strands within the
transcription bubble74 76. Sequencing studies support this in that mutations only occur
downstream of the VH gene promoter suggesting the importance of this promoter for AID activity.
It is hypothesized that AID is recruited

The United States Marine Band
The President s Own United States Marine Band is a professional wind ensemble that is apart of
the United States Marine Corps. It is our nation s oldest professional music ensemble. The mission
of the ensemble is to provide music for the President of the United States and the Commandment of
the Marine Corps. The Marine Band has a long, rich history, with many premier musicians who
have had their careers begin, grow, and flourish in this ensemble. As this ensemble serves as an
outlet for many of our countries finest musicians to perform for our country.
The history and origins of this ensemble date back to July 11th, 1798, as President John Adams
signed an Act of Congress reestablishing the United States Marine Corps. The act also, according to
Master Gunnery Sergeant D. Michael Ressler, authorized a Drum Major, a fife major, and thirty
two drums and fifes. The two majors wore identical uniforms, as the Drum Major was considered
to be the Leader of the Marine Band , while the Fife Major s responsibility was to teach and train
the fifers. The first drum major, leader, of the United States Marine Band was William Farr.
There was initially much difficulty finding and enlisting people to apart of this ensemble.
According to former writer for the Marine Corps Times and the Navy Times, author Don
Burzynski claims that a ten dollar bounty was given to obtain musicians with an additional three
hundred dollar anted up by Marine officers. But by a year later in 1799, the band was

This Source Is Very Closely Related To My Research Question
This source is very closely related to my research question regarding age and attitudes towards
cyberbullying. The study broke down the participants into five age groups and examined their
cyberbullying attitudes, perpetrations, and technology time. It determined that there is a negative
correlation between age and these variables, showing that generally, those who are younger are
more likely to believe that cyberbullying is a major concern for school going minors. That being
said, the youngest and oldest groups generally are less likely to have this attitude since they are
not likely to have experienced cyberbullying. The middle groups most likely have direct or indirect
experience with this problem. However, it was found that overall,... Show more content on

This study looked at a number of different factors related to cyberbullying, particularly focusing on
the victims themselves. The section on age and grade level most relates to my research topic. They
found that in their research on students in fifth, eight, and tenth grades, cyberbullying victimization
rates started low, rose in middle school, and sank again in high school. It appears that there is a
curvilinear relationship between age and frequency of victimization and according to this study, the
worst cyberbullying occurs in middle school. Therefore, this would imply that attitudes towards
cyberbullying and its threat to school going minors would be low at young ages, increase through
puberty and adolescence, and decrease again after around ninth grade. While it relates topically to
the two previous sources, the findings of this study are slightly different than them. This one
highlights that the relationship takes a parabolic or curved shape compared to a straight negative
slope.

The Pros And Cons Of The Republican Party
The Republicans have selected me, Arthur Chester, to be Garfield s running mate. The
Republican Party has favored Civil Service and I have decided to take part in this. In fact, I have
considered not being nominated for a second term; in order to satisfy the American public.
However, I know that a few may love me for this and others may not, but I am not just doing this
for myself, but for the people. I will handle patronage matters with restraint and support the
movement for civil service. In order to pass the civil service reform, we will intensify our efforts
in organizing, meeting and developing strategies to pass reform. I will ask Congress for an
appropriation of $25,000 to reactivate the Civil Service Commission. The Pendleton Act

  • 2. Nucleic Acid Investigation The purpose of the introductory activity was to analyze the pH of a mixture of a strong base and weak acid. The purpose of the guided inquiry lab was to analyze the concentration of sodium carbonate by titrating the substance using a nitic acid solution. Introductory Activity 5 mL of both 0.2 M ammonia and 0.1 M acetic acid were placed in separate test tubes and their pH was determined with pH paper. A mixture was created by pouring both together and its final pH was recorded. The strength of the acid and base was determined and whether the two had equal concentration. Each indicator was researched (its colors when it s acidic/basic and its pH transition range) and phenolphthalein was deemed suitable for this experiment. 5 mL of acetic acid was poured into a test tube and 1 2 drops of phenolphthalein were added. The initial color was recorded. 10 mL of ammonia was obtained in a graduated cylinder and using the graduated pipet, the base was added to the acid in 1 mL increments. Upon reaching the equivalence point, the indicator color and the amount of base required to obtain this point were recorded. The relative concentrations of the acid and base were then estimated. Guided Inquiry Design ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The indicator methyl red was deemed appropriate. A 60 mL Poorman s buret was placed on a support stand above a beaker with a magnetic stirrer. The sides of the beaker and flask were rinsed with water. 100 mL of nitric acid was collected and placed in the beaker below the buret. Approximately 3 drops of methyl red indicator were added. After being rinsed with water and sodium carbonate, the buret was filled with 60 mL of nitric acid. The beaker was placed 2 cm under the buret. Then the sodium carbonate was titrated until the methyl red changed from red to yellow. The final buret reading was recorded to determine the final volume of the base. Some cultures have changed the myths over time. Never the less, every Culture has its own opinion on the creation of the world. Most of the myths have similarities and differences on how the revolution of the world began. In this paper, the two myths focused on are the Zulu Creation and the Inca Creation. Below will explain which world or worlds, such as sky, earth, and underworld, the creators, and the role of cosmic occurrences of the two myths. The similarities will also be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Zulu Creation is the same as a pregnancy. Starting from a seed that starts to grow, which when done creates mankind. The seed is thought to of fallen from the sky to impregnate the earth. The Inca Creation starts with the sun rising from heaven and earth. Fire, water, and earth are the elements that create this story representing the sun. Comparing the Two In both myths, they both created mankind. Zulu creates mankind from a seed that grew while Inca created mankind from stone using rock from a mountain. Both creations taught mankind how to hunt, make clothes, and essentially survive. In the two creation stories, the world is created as the gods are born. Citizen Kane is perfect because you can learn everything you ever needed to know about how to analyze a film from it, and it is such a beautifully simple story, with complex characters, making the everyday important, just as it should be in our own lives. The Fiedler contingency model postulates a leader s style is static; however, God can transform anyone s heart and thus their leadership style. Additionally, the grapevine can be an important tool for employers. As long as each individual chooses to use gossip for honorable purposes, God will bless the workplace. ORIGINAL POST 3 Forum Post 3 Original Post Approaches to Leadership There are many different ways in which individuals lead. Whether implicit or by choice, the style and the way it is applied can lead to success or failure in the workplace. My boss and I approach leadership in completely different ways. While my boss leans toward only a transactional style, specifically Laissez faire, or management by exception, I prefer a combination of transactional and translational styles. According to Robbins and Judge (2012), Laissez faire is the most passive and therefore least effective of leader behaviors (Robbins Judge, 2012, p. 382). Additionally, management by exception is somewhat better, however it remains one of the weakest leadership styles. Leaders using this style fail to be engaged with the employees unless and until there is an issue requiring their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. Advantages Of Self-Service Technologies Self Service Technologies are the technologies which make customers operate the service by themselves without the helping of employees (Meuter et al. 2000). Currently, SST has already been used in online operation which is familiar to customers, they always shopping(Childers et al. 2001), buy tickets or reserve a service by using company s official websites. It is more convenient because it is not limited by the location and time, consumers could operate at any time. Moreover, SST is also adapted in the offline procedures. For example, the Automatic Teller Machine when people withdraw the money, the self service machine in the kiosk when people buy the goods, and also the stores for the customers to purchase in the offline store, etc. The advantage of SST is that it could recognize customers preferences and provide the customized services for them in the next time. Therefore, SST is a new way which replaces the traditional method to serve customers, it not only benefits customers but also the corporate. Some authors focus more on how customers use and adapt the SST by studying the factors of habit, self Efficacy, and satisfaction(Wang, C., Harris, J., Patterson, P., 2013). It could be better for the company to know customers acceptance of SST in terms of consumers point of view. Moreover, some other researchers identified the approaches of adoptionof SST from the sight of the company. Stockdale, R. Anyone can all look back to a time in our lives where they wish someone could just pick for us, or times when we wish there were more to choose from. All Americans have many choices, and it is such a part of our daily lives that we don t even realize it. Barry Schwartz and Sheena Iyengar s TEDtalks bring up interesting ideas about choice, how people deal with them and their affects. These goals are genuinely made to be for the interest of the greater good, and the majority of people. Even though this causes people to pay fees for getting caught by the cameras, the greater good is helped because there are less traffic accidents. Using the Kolb s Learning Cycle (1984), I will chronologically reflect upon my experiences of IPE, considering concrete experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualisation and active experimentation. After having exchanged pleasantries, individuals seemed coy and as theorised by Tuckman (1965), it was inherent that our team was in the forming stage of development within a small group. Polite and perfunctory conversation took place, which made it difficult to progress with the task in hand. Having worked as a member of teams in the past, it was pertinent to use what little time we had wisely and I felt it necessary to adopt the role of a team leader, akin to that theorised by the Hersey Blanchard Situational LeadershipВ® model. When B cells have successfully rearranged their IgH and IgL loci and express a BCR they will leave the bone marrow as immature B cells and become transitional B cells that migrate to secondary lymphoid tissues. In the lymphoid tissues B cells may be exposed to antigen and the initial antigen encounter will initiate a dynamic cascade of cell signalling events that ultimately promotes cellular activation and proliferation57 60. In the secondary lymphoid organs this area of B cell expansion is a visible structure and termed the germinal centre (GC)61. As B cells divide, their receptor undergoes somatic hypermutation (SHM); a mechanism whereby the IgH and IgL genes are hypermutated and fine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... SHM occurs by two mechanisms: 1) DNA replication reads the uracil as a thymidine and pairs it with an adenine which results in a C to T or G to A transition. This type of mutation only requires AID activity68, 69. 2) Uracil is a pyrimidine normally found in RNA and the base excision repair system will therefore attempt to correct the mistake by removing the uracil. This creates an abasic site in the DNA strand. The removal of the uracil is executed by an enzyme called uracil N glycosylase (UNG)70, 71. In the abasic site a random nucleotide may be inserted leading to both transitions (G:C into A:T) and transversions (G:C into C:G)68. Ultimately, for both mechanisms it is the misreading of a low fidelity polymerase that is responsible for the introduction of the point mutation72, 73. AID only binds single stranded (ss) DNA and thus only functions on actively transcribed alleles where transcription temporarily separates of the two DNA strands within the transcription bubble74 76. Sequencing studies support this in that mutations only occur downstream of the VH gene promoter suggesting the importance of this promoter for AID activity. It is hypothesized that AID is recruited ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It appears that there is a curvilinear relationship between age and frequency of victimization and according to this study, the worst cyberbullying occurs in middle school.
