The fungi isolated from the strawberries, after it grew in a petri dish was thick white fungi, it had a
dark ring around the edges. The petri dishes held moisture and the fungi stuck to top of the petri
dish. The first isolated petri dish had solid black circular solids formed in the petri dish. The

my results. If I could do this lab Again I would choose a different fruit and would make sure I was
more prepared for getting the inoculations together and sanitized. I would still do two different

For centuries philosophers, have debated the question of whether man is naturally evil. William
Golding poses this question in his novel Lord of the Flies. Set on a tropical island during World
War II, the novel begins when schoolboys from Great Britain are being flown to safety and their
plane is shot down. No adults survive, and the boys are left to control themselves and get rescued.
The boys find a conch, which is a symbol of power and authority to whoever has it in his

When the boys first start a fire on top of the mountain, Piggy holds the conch and attempts to
speak. But Jack scolds him by saying, The conch doesn t count on top of the mountain, so you

Chapter 9 Power, Politics, and Glory was a chapter focused on art and how leaders, of different
cultures, used them to portray themselves, or their governments, in a new or better light. Some
key topics that covered the ideas of Power, Politics, and Glory were; The glory of the ruler, The

In my opinion, Bacon did commit treason. Despite the fact that his motives were meant to be
good and to defend lives, he disregarded orders handed by the governor not to attack or pursue
the Indians. Today, we would call this breaking the law. In Virginia, 1676 through 1677, Bacon
Rebellion took place. Indians were coming into Virginia and taking over land by conquering and
killing villages in cold blood. Sir William Berkeleywas the governor of the colony at this time.
William Berkeley, showed a reluctance to retaliate, favoring instead a policy of keeping a strict

A Palace Thief Analysis
In A Palace Thief by Ethan Canin, Mr. Hundert is a teacher who, while good at heart, makes
unethical decisions in times of duress. While others may argue that he also make ethical
decisions, these ideas are quickly depressed with solid evidence. Appearing throughout the story
are examples of this behavior, and even though this story spans over many decades, these
decisions are spread evenly in the story. Certain variables such as his place of work may cause
these actions. Mr. Hundert educates students in a school that is located in the outermost part of
Washington DC. This school is limited to boys and provides housing to said boys. Due to its
location, many students are children of people who are currently in office. During the school year,
a new, distinct student arrives. This student, named Sedgewick Bell, is the son of a senator. This
child does not lack any confidence in his actions, and this trait gets him into trouble. This behavior
prompts Mr. Hundert to call the senator s office and the man, ... agreed to meet me one afternoon
the following week. (pg. 161) Most if not all teachers have not even thought about doing this type
of thing. In a majority of schools around the country today and within the last decade have invited
parents into the school to talk with teachers; the teachers do not organize a meeting at the home or
office of a parent. Mr. Hundert has voluntarily agreed to fight the battle in the senator s territory,
giving up all previously owned authority. While others may contradict this concept, they would be
incorrect. They may argue that this is not a very important decision as it may be minor. This would
not be correct as this leads to the senator showing evidence that he believes that he is higher than
Mr. Hundert. This is demonstrated by the conversationwith the senator. Thus, this conversation
demonstrates that authority has been transferred from Mr. Hundert to Senator Bell. While this
conversation is occurring between the senator and the teacher, an offer is made. The senator

The Mitchell Museum of the American Indian is located at 3001 Central Street in Evanston,
Illinois. The museum s main purpose is not only to educate the public about American Indians,
but also to deconstruct stereotypes and give tribal members something along the lines of a safe
place where they are welcome to embrace their ethnicity. One factor that showcases the
information I previously stated is the fact that tribal members have free admission into the
museum. Another way the museum salutes the ethnicity of American Indians is by
commemorating Native individuals alive today. Names of famous Native Americans are
displayed along with their contributions to the ethnic group. One of the people displayed is
Sarah Deer, who is a professor and lawyer that fought for Tribal Jurisdiction. Upon arrival, I was

The reason I think it is divided this way is so that every person who visits has the ability to learn

In Raymond Carver s A Small, Good Thing, we are presented with several good things worth
cherishing in this heartbreaking story of a young couple dealing with the tragic death of their only
child. The death of the child resulting from a hit and run car accident. Carver explains to the reader
how undeniably humanit is to take our love ones for granted. In the beginning the selfish actions
of the baker contributed to the couple s anger and confusion. However, by the end of the story
they are left with a sense of optimism and strength. The story, A Small, Good Thing, is not so

begins when Ann Weiss orders a cake for her son s birthday. She describes the baker as an older
