thinking it was a regular hotel until they stayed over for one night. Barely anyone made it out
because of Henry Howard Holmes the sick and notorious murder. Holmes did not have a pleasant
childhood, which led him into the huge crimes he committed and how he died at a young age.
Holmes was born on May 16, 1861 in Gilmanton, New Hampshire (Biography 1). He did not have

Holmes was put through several trials until he finally admitted to the crimes he committed. On
March 9,1896 Holmes was convicted to be killed after confessing his crimes at the trial
(Benzkofer 3). He died on May 7, 1896 after being hanged to his death(Benzkofer 4). After
Holmes death, his Murder Castle was remodeled into a tourist attraction called Holmes Horror
Castle . But it burnt down soon after opening to the public(H.H.Holmes 4). Holmes did not have

The First Restoration Continues
During 1963 and 1964 summers, restoration work continued at the island. Dad hired Ronald
Shutler and Jon Short to work on the house in 1963. Jon only worked for us that one summer
whereas Ronald assumed caretaker duties through 1967 when he returned to farming. Ronald had
grown up on a farm in nearby Hammond, and like many young men who grew up on farms, he
was a tireless worker who possessed the desirable trait of staying on task.
I have a photograph showing Ron and Jon painting the front steps while a pair of neighbors and
my sisters are painting the lattice. I recognized the date of this painting party as August 17, 1963.
Dad makes reference to this event in his diary. It was the same day Dad and Mom s hosted their

Establishing Unity Roundtable With An Updated Version Of...
We started our semester with the main goal of establishing UNITY Roundtable with an updated
version of constitutions and bylaws. After a couple of weeks of receiving feedback from the
UNITY Roundtable reps we settled and voted on the latest version of them. After that was
completed, Deshauna and I with the help of the reps we worked to recruit a SFAC Liaison and
after several weeks we elected Vincent Wan. He will oversee the allocation of next year budgets
and make sure the process and decisions is equitable and inclusive of multicultural organizations.
Through the semester, we came up with different long term goals such as creating a proposal for
the renovation of the three multicultural houses. To complete the research and plan we formed a
workgroup that will be chaired by Senator Carter. This working group is formed by three UNITY
Roundtable members and three Student Senators. They will research best practices from other
institutions and create a proposal that UNITY will vote on and present to the board of Trustees
during their spring gathering.
This semester was hard for students from marginalized communities, hence, most of UNITY s
organizations. Starting with the hate crime targeting two Latina students on campus. We reacted to
this by organizing a meeting for student to color. During this meeting we address the hate crime,

One could argue these children and the public memory of the bombs are similar. People knew
the bomb was deadly, but continued to support the development of more bombs in the same way

Schemas are important validation tools which can ensure data is valid and well formed for use.
There are different varieties that can be used to verify a document and ensure conformance to
standards. Some use a tree hierarchy and others just simple constructs. Lee and Chu (2000) note the
following in their paper; DTD, XSD, SOX, Schematron and DSD. Fawcett et al (2012) mention
Schematron, DTD, RELAX NG, and XSD. I will discuss some of these in comparison to DTD and
XSD which are follow ons from this week s Schema discussions.
DTD
This Schema type on uses attributes and elements and follows a hierarchy in structure type. It is
very simplistic and uses few attribute definitions, and does not follow XML type syntax. However,
despite its simplistic nature, it is the most widely used standard according to Lee and Chu (2000).
XSD
The true XML Schema Definition is very different from DTD in that it can be very granular in its
descriptive elements and follows XML syntax rules. This can make it very powerful, in its support
of namespaces and true data types, allowing for better conformity and use in data transformation
and query. Another strength of XML Schema is it inheritance, which can simplify some reuse of
attributes and combining of Schema documents. Its weakness goes hand in hand with its strength
as the complexity it allows for causes confusion by all but the most advanced users according to
Fawcett et al (2012).

Eating Disorders Program Analysis
Eating disorders have long been a problem in the United States. Most fail to grasp the severity
until someone close to them experiences the difficulties. Personally, I realized the prevalence of
eating disorders when several children endeared to me commented that they feel too fat or
skipped meals in order to not become obese. Instead of a teenage friend at school that one would
assume, younger children that range from seven to ten years of age made these comments.
Realizing the problem, I decided that I would create a program that would educate younger
children regarding the seriousness and effects of eating disorders. Before designing the
program, I researched for weeks in order to find facts and statistics concerning eating disorders
in the United States. The research proved that disorders begin in children as young as age seven
or eight. Additionally, pre teenagers predominantly suffer from eating disorders. The research also

The period preceding independence saw a lot democratic movements in many regions of Africa.
The struggles never ended, even after independence. Many African people have to still battle
leadership and other issues that were seen as threat to the peace of their countries. Most African

In the thirty year span between 1830 and 1860, the Second Great Awakening did much to change
the modern American mind by sparking the abolitionist movement, empowering women (in their
domestic sphere) and forming the cult of domesticity, partially fixing the corrupt government
through the temperance movement, and in the creation of many utopian societies by radical
religious populations. Puritanism was kicked to the side when Evangelicalism took root. This
religious renaissance was absolutely more optimistic than worship from the past; sin was no longer

Obviously this affected politics, with no more persuasion by alcohol. Just as groups had formed
against the consumption of alcohol, isolated religious groups began to form against everyone
but themselves. Called Utopian Communities , religious groups were created that challenged
society and it s religions, which is very similar to the Evangelical movement. There were
hundreds of these communities, with one of the most popular being the Shakers .9 The Shakers
believed in the complete equality of male and females, but at the price of being completely
celibate. The only way there could be new members was if there were converts or children who
would come into a Shaker village. Most of these utopian communities shared an idea of
millennialism, which talks about Jesus returning and a new era of the world beginning. The social

The first instance of window imagery is deceivingly small and easy to pass over, but upon
reflection it creates a certain symmetry by subtly foreshadowing the final window scene. In the
very opening section of the book, Clarissa s departure from the house dredges up memories of her
time at Bourton, of scenes with Peter Walsh that took place in front of an open window. This
memory, brought about by the impact of the early morning air, also reminds her of the solemn
feeling this incident gave her standing there at the open window, that something awful was about to
happen. Though fleeting and lightly discussed, this emotion placed so close to the beginning of the
novel seems to indicate the dangerous nature of an open window, which anticipates both Septimus
death and Clarissa s later musings in front of a window.
Another small but important window scene takes place after Clarissa returns home to discover
that her husband has been invited to Millicent Bruton s lunch party but she has not. After reading

interesting to geologists and tourists in the Taupo Volcanic Zone (TVZ), Lake Taupo, and Mt
Ruapehu. Lake Taupo is a main tourist attraction as it is the largest lake in New Zealand with a
beautiful scenery perfect for activities like recreational fishing and sky diving. Furthermore, it
generates electrical energy via the Waikato river that is used by people all around waikato. Mt

This is being driven by a force called convection which happens in the asthenosphere which is
fluid. It is when the fluid near the core heats up, and rises due to it s low density compared to the
surrounding fluid. This fluid then cools down and sinks due to it s high density compared to the
surrounding fluid. It therefore gets near to the core again and so, repeats the cycle. The direction
