Especially With An External Customers Or Organisations,
Especially with an external customers or organisations, the experience the have when speaking to a
company over the phone can leave a lasting impression on the company as a whole, whether it be
positive or negative. When answering the phone to those outside of the business, I always make sure
to answer the phone as promptly as possible and giving the standard organisational greeting.
Depending on what the caller is asking, they should then be directed to either a colleague, a message
should be taken down for them, or you may be able to answer their queries yourself.
When speaking to someone over the phone, you should always maintain a polite attitude. This rule
should always be in place no matter who you are talking to over the phone ... Show more content on

To prevent making mistakes, I will usually very quickly prepare what I am going to say in my head
so that I do not have to re–record my messages numerous times.
When finishing a phone call, I always make sure to go over any of the details that we have
discussed. Summarising what you have spoken about or even just taking note of the details of the
caller (if answering someone else's phone) will help make sure that everything is accurate show that
you are professional and care about accuracy.
It is obviously very important to maintain a good standard when speaking to people over the
telephone as this can reflect the company itself. If someone has a negative experience with one of
the employees they spoke to over the phone, they are less likely to want to become a customer of the
company. This is the same when they have a positive experience and can completely influence their
decision on working with the organisation or not.
At vivid Optical, all employees are expected to treat candidates and clients in the exact same way
when talking to them over the phone. When speaking on the phone to those outside of the business, I
always make sure to maintain a professional and well mannered personality, even when dealing with
difficult callers. Again, this should leave the caller with a positive view on the company.

Phone Call
Phone Call Texts can be interpreted in many different ways. Phone Call by Berton Roueche, is a
short story drama about a delivery man whose truck breaks down and gets into a bit of trouble. This
short story is a good example of how you can find two very different readings in the same story. The
dominant reading is that the male is innocent and the woman is just paranoid and overly suspicious.
The resistant reading is that the female is innocent and has the right to be suspicious and the male is
guilty with the intent to take advantage of her. In the dominant reading it is told through a first
person male point of view, this positions the audience to believe what the man is saying. The
dominant reading portrays the man as an innocent and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the man, she starts to question him and letting him know she is aware of the little things he has done

Hotel Management System Essay
Major System Features and Functions
The system will automate many of the manual procedures that are being used by management, front
desk, and room services at the Hotel Computer Science. After preliminary analysis of the
requirement specifications a system with the following functions will best satisfy the needs of the
hotel management and staff.
Hotel Management System Overview
The following level one data flow diagram characterizes the types of inputs and outputs and the

The front desk will have access to create, delete, edit current bills, and registration forms of
customers. Also take and post messages for customers. The kitchen staff will have access to edit
room service order forms, special requirements and will be able to have read access to menus.
Data Structures & Algorithms
Our decision to implement the Hotel Management system using standard PC technology and a
commercial database product has narrowed our choices of implementation algorithms and data
structures. We have chosen to implement this system with a PC database program (Access) that uses
a relational data model. Basically what this means is that related data is grouped together in what
can be logically viewed as a columnar table of records. Each record within a particular table is
composed of a number of fields that hold the relevant information. Each record can be uniquely
described by on or more fields in the record. These fields are refered to as the records primary key.
Information is retrieved from the table by specifying the records primary key. The entire system is
made up on a number of tables, each of which can be thought of as describing one logical entity. For
example a custmomer is represented by a table that has field entries corresponding to the customers
name, address and so on. Information about each customer is retrieved by specifying the customers
name which is the primary key for the customer table.

you have the right person as the victim (no health conditions such as heart problems, and not
someone who is hot–tempered), right time (timing is very important in any pranks because it makes
it more real and believable), and right prank tactic (the prank that you will do should be in

How The Phone Call Has Become Less Popular Over Time
The Phone call has become less popular over time. Among young people, the most popular medium
for communication is via Text Message. For example, when people initiated a date, these statistics
were found; "for those over 30, 52% said a phone call, 28% face to face, 8% text message, E–mail
7%. For those under 30, 23% said a phone call, 37% said face to face, 32% said text message, E–
mail 1%". (Aziz Ansari. Chapter 2. Modern Romance. Penguin, 2015. Audio book.) Notice the drop
in phone calls from the older group to the younger group. There is a 29% difference in the amount
of phone calls. That's a rather large drop. Now look at the gap of texting from the younger group to
the older group. There is a 24% difference in the amount each group texts. It is plane to see that each
generation differs on their pursuit methods. Process Analysis How to ask someone out on a date.
When asking someone out on a date, you must first pick your preferred medium. Over text, over the
phone, or in person. Let's just say for now, you're asking someone out over text. The first thing you
need to do is asses the current relationship you two already have. Is it a friend that you want to be
with, or is it a new face you want to learn about. The second and most important thing is knowing
what to say. You don't want to say the wrong thing and sound insensitive or rude. Think carefully
about the person you are messaging, how do you think they feel about you? Just keep that

A cellular phone rings in a Northern Virginia suburban home; it is 3:00 AM. A digital forensic
examiner is on the receiving end of the phone call. The local police department is requesting the
examiner's expertise and his state of the art forensic lab. An individual has just been arrested on
child pornography charges, as well as, possible drug trafficking. The suspect is believed to be the
ringleader in a drug cartel so this has the potential to be a massive investigation. This digital

My Experience In My Life
I had only left the United States once before in my life. It was a small trip to London with my
mother to visit a distant relative. It was a quick trip, maybe 3 or 4 days and I could hardly remember
it because it was 12 years ago. I didn't have much motivation to leave home again except for
university. Until I got a call. On Wednesday, April 24th at exactly 3:37 pm I got a call from my aunt
Kaasni. This was no ordinary phone call, as we normally had pre–organized phone calls every other
Sunday evening and she hardly talked to me when I had school work. That was the deal with my
parents after my father left – I could speak to my aunt who he lived with every other Sunday and on
certain holidays. I picked up the phone and my father, drunk and hazy spoke. "Sasha my dear ba–
ba–baby how are you," he slurred "you know what, I think you should come spend some time with
me, here in Calcutta, get a different taste of what life is like for your old man." It took a moment for
me to process what he had said – he wanted me to see him, after 15 years, he wanted me in his life
again. Then I heard my auntie on the phone "Sasha? I am so sorry, your father drank a little too
much. We are on holiday here and I hope he hasn't disturbed you," she said. "Oh no Auntie Kay, its
fine," I replied, still deep in thought. The line went silent for a moment as I heard her shush my
intoxicated father while she held her palm to the phone. She picked up once again and continued
apologizing until I

he had brought to the light, and how much the cell phone would evolve over the years. The two
powerhouse companies responsible for most of the cell phones that are circulating around the world
are Samsung & Apple, these two companies history with each other don't date back that far, but they
have sued, and tried to outsmart each other numerous amount of time. Over the years of the
Samsung vs Apple have sued each other for an amount of money over a billion dollars, and lawsuits
stretching across four different continents just to keep company safe, and free of copycats. The two
backgrounds of the company are very different and started during different periods of time,
Samsung which was originally called Sang hoe was founded in 1938 by a big landowning family by
the name of Lee Byung–chull, and the apple started in 1971. Samsung they started as a small trading

Short Story : ' The Phone Call '
The Phone Call A cold night, the vast city stands, frost bitten. The heart of the town lays dormant,
almost frozen in time. A frigid wind gusts and roars through the desolate metropolis. Hannah looked
out the window and exhaled. The driveway was still empty and it was getting dark. She checked the
clock and sighed again, deeper this time. Her dad had said that she would pick her up by 5:30, but it
was almost seven and Hannah hadn 't heard a word from him. She walked up the stairs to her room
and threw away her baseball glove into her large closet. Hannah figured that even if her Dad did
miraculously show, it wouldn 't be much fun playing catch in the dark. Hannah sat down on the
couch and tried to do some of her reading homework, but she couldn 't get her dad off of her mind.
The phone rang at about 10:00 but Hannah let it go to voicemail. The grey LCD monochrome screen
said Dad "Hey Hannah, I hope all is well, I'm so sorry that I couldn 't make it tonight. I had to finish
up a big project at work. Maybe we can catch a baseball game the weekend. Or maybe catch one of
those concerts you always wanted to go to. Oh wait, the weekend's no good. How about next
weekend? That should work. You and I are going out for sure! Hannah listened to the machine in
disgust. She knew that her dad had a job and a life, but she couldn 't understand why he was always
flaking out on her. Hannah thought to herself: Couldn 't someone else get one of these bad news
speeches once in a while?

Calling Networking : Phone Call Is A Number Game
Keeping score
I mentioned that cold calling is a numbers game. You have no idea what your averages will be if you
do not track and calculate them. The only way to do this is with a score sheet. This is a sheet you
post to after each phone call, regardless the outcome.
You will work a calculation with the score sheet totals to determine your averages. Your first few
call sessions might be a little ruff. But once you know your averages it is a mild motivation to know
that after you get to the average number of no thanks you, you will make a call with positive results.
The sequence is:
1. Begin with any call backs you have scheduled. As you dial them post your score sheet.
2. When call backs are done dial the first number on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But the real issue came when we started receiving bonus checks from our team member sales.
SUMMARY: The individual didn't bother speaking with other bowlers in the league. She figured
they were not interested. When she learned we started picking up sales she began to pay attention.
But while she was trying to distribute books, we picked up four team members. She let the death
shuffle hold her back from sales and additional team members. It cost her profits in sales as well as
bonus money.
Start at the top of your list and dial each number sequentially. Do not skip over any making
judgements, or because you are afraid of hearing the word no. Death shuffles rob you of potential
performance contracts. If you learn your averages you will recognize that you must work through
the no before you make that good contact.
Accumulate totals on your score sheet. I use hash marks and fill in the total at the end of my calling
session. Reading left to right my score sheet blocks read:
Calls: A hash mark made every time I dial regardless the call is answered or not.
Answered: A hash mark at the start of every conversation.
Call Back: A hash mark for all calls that result with a call back.
No: A hash mark for all calls that resulted in no or no thank you.

Recording Phone Calls
The transportation industry is huge, and multi–pronged. Spanning services that include order
processing and logistics to collecting tolls by phone for inter– and intrastate infrastructure projects,
the transportation industry is a complex ecosystem with unique customer service opportunities and
challenges. One of those challenges is leveraging the power of innovative high–tech solutions
without compromising client data. It is mission critical to stay abreast of ever changing laws for

Gaining consent to record won't cover your transportation organization if you don't make it clear
how you will share and store audio files. Ideally, your company will advise all incoming callers
either through an automated IVR system or call center staff trained to answer each call with a script
that never varies. Financial considerations drive the decision to record, or not record telephone call
traffic. For one thing, the costs of winning a lawsuit can be almost as burdensome as losing a legal
challenge. Another key consideration is the impact an IVR may have on customer satisfaction and
personalized service. In the end, investing in integrated call capturing technology that complies with
industry standards and the laws for recording phone calls is a cost effective solution that limits
liability and can actually improve customer experiences and service if implemented correctly. ATIS

Discharge Phone Calls: A Literature Review
The strengths of the literature are that there are different perspectives on this topic that lead to the
same positive outcome. There is a variety of detail that can persuade the audience that includes cost,
which staff member makes the phone calls, home visits versus only telephone calls, the reasons why
proper discharge does not happen, and the easiness and long term cost savings that discharge phone
calls can provide. Staff with specialized training are in a better position to make the phone calls
because they are able to answer healthcare–related questions appropriately while determining if a
higher level team member was needed to assist them, and the non–licensed professionals were able
to discuss only non–clinical topics such as delivery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some had hundreds or less, where others had tens of thousands of participants. The methods that
were used were also very similar in terms of data collections. All of the studies used
surveys/questionnaires. I wonder if other methods such as follow–up physical assessments would
surface different findings in terms of the quality of care received by resolving the problems, rather
than covering up symptoms. There could be other reasons for readmission rather than just lack of
instructions or education. The studies that involved Medicare were able to use their insurance
databases to determine readmission rates by running large reports on insurance claims with the
ability to research tens of thousands of subjects as seen the studies done by Costantino et al (2013)
and Harrison et al (2011). Cost is always a great way to persuade stakeholders, and some of the
literature discusses the financial impact of readmission. It was found in one study that due to the
intervention of follow–up phone calls, the cost savings of readmissions within thirty days was
reduced by $1.4 million dollars (Harrison, Hara, Pop, Young, & Rula, 2011). In the new nursing
culture, it is important to offer patient–centered care, and the intervention of discharge phone calls
does just that. Each article discusses the quality of effective communication and how this improves

My Personal Statement Of One Phone Call
Who would have thought that one phone call could change my whole life? I recall I was in the
kitchen grabbing a snack from the fridge when my phone rang. I remember that before even hanging
up with Ms. Rola, I found all my family around me hugging and congratulating me. I couldn't
believe it at first. After years of hard work, I made it to AUB with a full scholarship to a major that I
always had a passion in. Something to be proud of, right? I was thrilled, but scared at the same time.
I knew that AUB will be a big challenge, a different environment with different people and a
different lifestyle. Nevertheless, I was up for it. I always wanted to become an AUB student yet it
was a burden to afford such prestigious education, knowing that my father is the only breadwinner
of the family. He used to always tell me: "Do not worry about the money, everything will work out
eventually", but I knew that he was just comforting me. By the time I got the call, I was already
planning my next year at a public university. I still remember my father's face the moment he knew
about the scholarship as he hugged me and whispered to me that he is very proud of my
achievements.
The first few days at AUB were weird. People here were different! I was lost and I didn't know
anybody here. The whole campus gave me a hard time but I was determined to make it through.
During my sophomore year, I had the chance to be involved in multiple community service
activities. I joined Farah Al Ataa in

Some children eventually stop being told they look a certain way, such as; cute, beautiful, darling, or

there would be a consensus for all of 'em to be left, as if this is something to be ashamed of when it's

I doubt my own significance quite often. If not for Aeon's phone calls, I am not sure what
importance I would truly have to her. That conflict is my own, though, and of minor relevance only.
Here's the thing, though; to pick up the phone, I must first determine whether my goings on warrant
discussion at all, because without this preparation I may decide without thinking they don't matter
enough to be discussed, then regrettably second guess my conclusion once the call has ended. It's a
thought I imagine is not a special creation of my mind. I cannot be the first to have asked, Can it
really be worth not saying if the only way to discover its value is by saying it? This is where I'm
currently at, though, in the internal struggle of this situation: my biggest fear being interrogation. I
adore the idea of intrigue without speculation. Despite my infatuation with the concept, it's not one I
fully understand. I cannot imagine how it would happen that a person might discover their good
news met with a simple request for more details or a simpler congratulations. There is always a
specific question with an opinion attached. In my experience that's how it has always been, at least,
and I've never been the absolute most of anything to anyone in my life. I'm not one to be called any
connotation of special, but in a way I reckon that's how I'd prefer it even if I knew any different.

Suspense In Come On Hally By Bernard Fugard
Fugard begins the play with very simple, ordinary characters. That use some light hearted, comedic
and joyful phrases and informal dialogue which later begins to sound more serious and rough
through more formal phrases.
The tension slowly rises and Fugard keeps the audience hooked with every detail. He uses a variety
of literary techniques in a short time between the two phone calls, from Hally's mother. Hally is
therefore creating suspense for the audience and Fugard uses the powerful verb in the stage
directions "slamming" for a dramatic effect in performance. However, shortly after this rise in
suspense, Fugard uses the calming phrase of "Come on Hally" to reduce the tension.
As the audience is aware that the character does not feel loved or cared by his father and his

Fugard, gradually begins to darken the language and the play becomes emotionally tougher to see.
Increasing violence, hatred and the words that are suddenly used as weapons without filters "What,
chum? A niggers arse". When Hally tells Sam to call him "Master Harold," Sam sais: "If you...,I'll
never call you anything else again". Indicating also the strong comparison as to earlier on when we
saw the lightness, now turning to these heartbreaking moments. "Now totally reckless" makes it
harder to see how there is a sudden fall in the character followed by "An ugly attempt at laughter"
the situation seems painful and therefore leaving the audience in a unexpected position. Fugard
makes Sams character not rise to Hally's attack immediately but waits, and waits until he does,
which creates even further tension in the audience as they are left in silence and unknowing about
what the characters will perform next, these small peaks of tension keep building to the

Caroline Bartleet's Operator Analysis
Caroline Bartleet's Operator takes viewers on a thrilling ride with an emergency dispatcher as she
handles a woman's call about a fire.
Opening to a black screen, viewers are welcomed by the sound of quick typing on a computer
keyboard. Next, people can be heard taking emergency calls with more phones continuing to ring in
the background. It's immediately clear that this environment is quick–paced and hectic.
After a few short pauses on different emergency dispatchers (or operators), the camera focuses on
one operator taking a call from a woman whose house is on fire. The woman is frantic because her
son is stuck in the house; she keeps asking the operator to send help quickly because her boy is
upstairs. The camera slowly zooms in on the operator's face as she calmly tries to get more
information from the woman to allow her to better assist in this emergency.

The camera doesn't leave the desk of the main operator, creating a kind of bond between the
audience and her. Though this might seem like it would limit the film's ability to create drama,
tension, and a resolution, it does exactly the opposite. Because the viewer cannot leave the call
center, a certain amount of mystery is created and tense situations – like when the woman on the
phone doesn't answer the operator immediately after screaming – become even more powerful.
Rather than feeling trapped or restricted, the viewer is able to experience a full range of emotions
with the operator. The audience is taken on this exciting, stress–filled ride with the operator,
producing a link between viewers and the operator. And once the operator has completed the call
about the fire, she takes a short breath – letting the viewer rest for a moment – and then takes her

Strengths And Weaknesses Of The Phone Call
Strengths:
– Krista executes on the strong intro when she picks up the phone call.
– Krista asks the client 's questions to find out more about who she is working with and when she
provided the documentation.
– Good foreshadow to the hold.
– Krista takes ownership by offering to leave a voicemail on the client 's behalf, when prompted.
– Krista ends the call by thanking the client for calling in.
Opportunities:
– Call recording disclosure. Krista discloses the call to the wife when she first picks up. At :17 the
wife says that she will put the phone on speaker so that the husband/client can hear as well. Krista
then addresses the client, however, she does not disclose that the call is being recorded. As a best

Compare And Contrast A Telephone Call And The Child's Story
Compare and Contrast
A Telephone Call vs The Child's Story
By:Summer Armstrong
The stories "A Telephone Call" and "The Child's Story" tell two very different stories but have many
similarities. These stories are two of America's favorite short stories. They are both very great stories
to learn from, but in different ways. These stories are loved for their life lessons. A Telephone Call
teaches you that women don't need a man to call them. The Child's Story teaches us to cherish every
moment we have with our family. These stories have many similarities and many differences.
In these stories they both have a romantic relationship of some sort. In both stories the author
changes the emotions rapidly. In A Telephone Call the woman is optimistic at first and then gets
angry and upset then she starts to make excuses. In The Child's Story the author changes emotions
by the traveller being happy for finding someone then losing them, this happens multiple times.
Another similarity is that you do not know exactly how old the main characters are. In A Telephone
Call you are to assume she is in her mid 20s because of the way she talks about the man and that it
seems as she lives alone. In The Child's Story the main character is just called a "traveler" because
he is able to play and run and walk through all the moments it is to assume that he is late 20s.
These stories have many differences as well. One of the main differences is where they are set. A
Telephone Call is set in the main

Fedex, The Most Successful Companies Of The World Essay
FedEx is considered one of the most successful companies in the world. When founder Fred Smith
was in college, he wrote a paper that outlined a system that would deliver time–sensitive items
quickly (fedex.com). In 1971 his idea came to life and FedEx was born in Little Rock, Arkansas
(fedex.com). In the 45 years they've been operating they still keep their "Purple Promise." That's the
nickname of their motto to make every FedEx experience outstanding (fedex.com). Innovative
services such as overnight shipping needed to match with excellent customer service.
Their website, which was founded in 1994 (wired.com), allowed customers to track their packages
within seconds. Package tracking allows a customer to follow their packages and gives peace of
mind that important items have met their destination. Prior to the inception of their website, a
customer would have to call to track their package. While still an option, many people prefer the
ease of tracking from their computers or smartphones. Their application Ship Manager can be
installed on a customers' website so they can determine shipping charges and print labels from home
or the office (textbook, p. 22). Instead of nurturing an isolated environment from business owners,
FedEx looks to integrate their services within a businesses' management information system. "We
allow customers to drag and drop names from their address books into FedEx Ship Manager," says
FedEx CIO Robert Carter. The integration provided "makes the

Virtual Phone Number Advantages And Disadvantages
A virtual phone number can be used like a regular number, but having a virtual number is beneficial
because it is not directly associated with any telephone line. Therefore, virtual phone numbers work
by forwarding incoming phone calls to another phone or electronic device, such as a computer. This
service is a great tool for individuals who travel for work or have migrated from other countries as
well as companies who wish to do business in other countries, but are not yet equipped to build a
brick and mortar office overseas.
For example, if you wanted to do business in Egypt, you could use a virtual phone number to route
calls from Egyptian locals to your offices located in any city, such as London, Los Angeles, or
Toronto. It's an extremely low cost method for your business to stay in contact with Egyptian
consumers and stay competitive in the Egyptian market.
If you've decided to expand your business overseas to Egypt, Global Call Forwarding offers virtual
toll–free numbers. This modern advancement in telecommunications will give you a much larger
advantage over business competitors. There are several beneficial reasons to bring your company's
products and services to Egypt, read on to find out why.

A Call to Action: Regulate Use of Cell Phones on the Road
David ******* English 101–B 14 March 2004 A Call to Action: Regulate Use of Cell Phones on the
Road When a cell phone goes off in a classroom or at a concert, we are irritated, but at least our
lives are not endangered. When we are on the road, however, irresponsible cell phone users are more
than irritating: They are putting our lives at risk. Many of us have witnessed drivers so distracted by
dialing and chatting that they resemble drunk drivers, weaving between lanes, for example, or nearly
running down pedestrians in crosswalks. A number of bills to regulate use of cell phones on the road
have been introduced in state legislatures, and the time has come to push for their passage.
Regulation is needed because drivers using phones are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Should the NSA and United States government be allowed to spy on and collect information on its

911 Phone Calls: A Textual Analysis
One thing I found interesting was the part where the blind girl was walking down the sidewalk.
Usually when she walked down the sidewalk people would be courteous and moe to the side to "be
out of the way". Though people thought they were just being nice, this made her feel almost lonely
walking, as if no one else was there with her because she couldn't hear or feel them among her. With
the device, she was able to sense people on the street with her feeling vibrations on her tongue. I just
thought that would've been an amazing experience to witness that and it really caught my attention.
Another thing that really made me pay attention was the 911 phone call. I don't think this was
supposed to be such a big impact in the video but it was for me. The phone call was about an attack
on a girl and she had called 911 for help. Being that she spoke another language, she needed
translation (which is where I think it comes in handy with this video). Usually 911 translation
operators don't get these kinds of calls often. Most are questions about what we might think are
"easy." So this was kind of a shock. The phone call ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Calling Vs. Texting Appropriate Communication When Phone...
Two of the most common ways to communicate in today's age are calling and texting. There are
many advantages and disadvantages to these modern communication methods. Phone calls can help
both communicators to better understand the conversation, but can be very public to people standing
nearby. On the other hand, texting is more discreet in public, but texts can make it harder to decipher
the meaning behind the words. Where one option lacks, the other provides for your needs, and vice
versa.
Texts have many advantages, as well as disadvantages. The benefits of texting include quick
conversations when time is scarce, and the ability for a reserved person to communicate. Texting

Some of the benefits of calling include being more suitable for long conversations, as well as
making sure the other person receives the message. Calling is more appropriate for long or complex
conversations because lengthy and complicated ideas are not as easy to convey with typed words.
Conversation can better move around the topic, and be better explained, when spoken words are
used to get the ideas across. Furthermore, when a telephone call is made, it can be ensured that the
intended person is the one to receive the message. This does not always work with texting. No
texted reply from the other person could either mean that they didn't receive the information, or that
they simply didn't feel the need to respond. When calling, the caller will know that the answerer
received the message once the phone is picked up. If the phone is not picked up, the caller will know
for certain that their message was not delivered. One of the hindrances of calling is the chance of
being overheard. When words are said aloud, anyone within earshot could hear the conversation.
This can be a problem when the conversation is private, whether for personal or business reasons.
The examples listed here are just a few of the many advantages and disadvantages of

Mobile Phones : A Way Of Making Phone Calls On A Wireless...
nce upon a time (in 1983, to be precise), we were introduced to mobile phones: a way of making

presented us with the concept of texting. Then, in 2002, came the invention of the smart phone. Over

This experiment was used to determine the impact of reminder systems on appointment

Because of the unpredictable nature of appointment nonadherence, providers' schedule gaps cannot

loss of revenue from fees that would have been charged for services had patients kept their

sample (Sims, 2012, p. 161). The results of this research is significant when it comes to try to bring
the maximum amount of money to the clinic. The more patients that adhere to the appointment, the
more money the clinic brings in. Short message service is a low cost tool that could be used to create
higher adherence rates. In England alone, a 25% to 28% reduction in missed outpatient

significant study was Maxwell's study that examined effectiveness of reminder systems on
appointment adherence rates. The goal of this study was to determine the impact of reminder

The three groups consisted of (1) patients receiving an automated telephone reminder of their

because he wanted more accountability from the staff, but mostly because he had seen it work

The Worst Phone Call Of My Life

that night I invited my three closest friends, one of which never showed. Throughout the night my
friends and I continually phoned our friend to try and figure out why he never showed up. After
numerous attempts we decided he most likely drank too much beer, while his parents were known to

Why Are Good Business Practice? Essay
Assume you are in a leadership position in the organization. How could you impress upon
employees the importance of answering customer messages in a timely manner? How could you
make this easier for employees?
Good business practice suggests you answer emails within 24 hours, however, if you answer within
10 to 30 minutes, your clients will be impressed. Even if the response only lets them know that you
are aware of the issue and that, you will be getting back to them during normal business hours. This
is called exceeding expectations and a way to make our clients, our partners. Your customers do not
want to wait days or even hours for responses to their questions or help with their problems and, in
many cases, if you force them to wait they will take their business elsewhere. Being available and
responsive to customers is a precondition to giving A–plus information. I can make it easier for the
employees by providing all the resources to the employees. I will allot a time slot in which the
employees all will do is to answer customer messages. I will organize seminars or webinars for the
employees to realize the importance of answering customer messages in a timely manner. I will
make a company policy that answering customer messages turn around time should be within 24
hours. I can create an app or software to keep a track of customer messages and their period of

A Simple Phone Call One Night After Dinner
It all began with a simple phone call one night after dinner. "Joe," my father hollered up the stairs,
"it's for you. Its jackie, and she sounds upset." as I came downstairs to pick up the phone, I was not
happy. I was tired and had looked forward to a nice quiet evening at home, not another stupid
adventure with Jackie. Thirty minutes later, however, Jackie's silver Mustang convertible swung into
our driveway, and Jackie was leaning on the horn before the car came to a full stop. Grabbing my
coat from the couch, I walked out my front door with all the enthusiasm of a man going to stand

"Yea, what about it? It 's been there forever." as she crept closer. The house had been there since i
was a kid, it seems to be vacant. We pass it every day on the way to school but just today Jackie is
dragging me out here to look at it. "Look at the window, do you see that?" jackie asserted while
keeping a safe distance from the house. "What is that?" I questioned as I squinted to see the window.
Then my eyes caught it, the one window on the entire house contained a circle with an "A" through
it, Anarchy. "It's probably nothing" I assured Jackie. I was giving Jackie false hope. In the early 60's
and 70's this town had applied a government of Anarchy. The two who began this apocalyptic cult,
were Jackies parents. During that time the government fell apart as Jackies parents implemented this
form of society. There was so little government and law restriction that all crime became considered
legal. Eventually the Army intervened and broke up the chaos. Jackies parents disappeared and were
never heard of again. "Lets go, we don 't have to be here" i offered. "No, lets go in" Jackie
exclaimed blatantly. "Jackie, what if there's someone in there?" as Jackie picked up a small rock.

A Phone Call Or Texting Affects Reaction Time Greater?
Research question: Which one of the following, a phone call or texting, affects your reaction time
greater? Introduction: My life science project is about finding out which type of usage of a phone
will affect your reaction time more. It is about texting and a phone call. My investigation was done
on boys and girls of the same age groups. Research hypothesis: A phone call will have a greater
effect on your re compared to a text. Motivation: Cell phones and the use of electronic devices is a
huge concern in my life as they are taking over this generation. Our reaction time when using a cell
phone is very important as many people often zone out when using a cell phone which could lead to
a person walking into danger. Such as walking in front of a fast moving car while you are on your
phone and getting injured. I feel that today's generation needs to be aware of what is around them,
especially when they are using a cell phone and this experiment will show people how they zone out
while using their cell phone, showing them what could actually happen to them. Aim: My aim is to
find out whether phone calls or texting affects your reaction ... Show more content on

This is clearly shown in my graphs and in my recorded documents of my experiment as the cm
where the ruler was caught were greater when the person was texting. This also shows that my
findings were closely related to the effects of phones while driving on your reaction time By
Thomas Mckain, where he indicated that that answering a text takes at least 5 seconds which is
enough time for a car to travel an entire football field. My findings were also very similar to How
cell phones affect reaction time and reflexes By Brittney Reding where she states that texting or
calling interferes with this and affects your reaction time which can lead to a high risk of injury or
landing up in a dangerous

  • 1. Especially With An External Customers Or Organisations, Especially with an external customers or organisations, the experience the have when speaking to a company over the phone can leave a lasting impression on the company as a whole, whether it be positive or negative. When answering the phone to those outside of the business, I always make sure to answer the phone as promptly as possible and giving the standard organisational greeting. Depending on what the caller is asking, they should then be directed to either a colleague, a message should be taken down for them, or you may be able to answer their queries yourself. It is obviously very important to maintain a good standard when speaking to people over the telephone as this can reflect the company itself. If someone has a negative experience with one of the employees they spoke to over the phone, they are less likely to want to become a customer of the company. This is the same when they have a positive experience and can completely influence their decision on working with the organisation or not. At vivid Optical, all employees are expected to treat candidates and clients in the exact same way when talking to them over the phone. • 3. Phone Call Phone Call Texts can be interpreted in many different ways. Phone Call by Berton Roueche, is a short story drama about a delivery man whose truck breaks down and gets into a bit of trouble. This short story is a good example of how you can find two very different readings in the same story. The dominant reading is that the male is innocent and the woman is just paranoid and overly suspicious. The resistant reading is that the female is innocent and has the right to be suspicious and the male is guilty with the intent to take advantage of her. In the dominant reading it is told through a first person male point of view, this positions the audience to believe what the man is saying. • 9. How The Phone Call Has Become Less Popular Over Time The Phone call has become less popular over time. Among young people, the most popular medium for communication is via Text Message. For example, when people initiated a date, these statistics were found; "for those over 30, 52% said a phone call, 28% face to face, 8% text message, E–mail 7%. For those under 30, 23% said a phone call, 37% said face to face, 32% said text message, E– mail 1%". (Aziz Ansari. Chapter 2. Modern Romance. Penguin, 2015. Audio book.) Notice the drop in phone calls from the older group to the younger group. There is a 29% difference in the amount of phone calls. That's a rather large drop. Now look at the gap of texting from the younger group to the older group. There is a 24% difference in the amount each group texts. • 13. My Experience In My Life I had only left the United States once before in my life. It was a small trip to London with my mother to visit a distant relative. It was a quick trip, maybe 3 or 4 days and I could hardly remember it because it was 12 years ago. I didn't have much motivation to leave home again except for university. Until I got a call. On Wednesday, April 24th at exactly 3:37 pm I got a call from my aunt Kaasni. This was no ordinary phone call, as we normally had pre–organized phone calls every other Sunday evening and she hardly talked to me when I had school work. That was the deal with my parents after my father left – I could speak to my aunt who he lived with every other Sunday and on certain holidays. I picked up the phone and my father, drunk and hazy spoke. "Sasha my dear ba– ba–baby how are you," he slurred "you know what, I think you should come spend some time with me, here in Calcutta, get a different taste of what life is like for your old man." It took a moment for me to process what he had said – he wanted me to see him, after 15 years, he wanted me in his life again. Then I heard my auntie on the phone "Sasha? I am so sorry, your father drank a little too much. We are on holiday here and I hope he hasn't disturbed you," she said. "Oh no Auntie Kay, its fine," I replied, still deep in thought. The line went silent for a moment as I heard her shush my intoxicated father while she held her palm to the phone. She picked up once again and continued apologizing until I ... A frigid wind gusts and roars through the desolate metropolis. Hannah looked out the window and exhaled. The driveway was still empty and it was getting dark. She checked the clock and sighed again, deeper this time. Her dad had said that she would pick her up by 5:30, but it was almost seven and Hannah hadn 't heard a word from him. She walked up the stairs to her room and threw away her baseball glove into her large closet. Hannah figured that even if her Dad did miraculously show, it wouldn 't be much fun playing catch in the dark. Hannah sat down on the couch and tried to do some of her reading homework, but she couldn 't get her dad off of her mind. The phone rang at about 10:00 but Hannah let it go to voicemail. The grey LCD monochrome screen said Dad "Hey Hannah, I hope all is well, I'm so sorry that I couldn 't make it tonight. I had to finish up a big project at work. You have no idea what your averages will be if you do not track and calculate them. The only way to do this is with a score sheet. This is a sheet you post to after each phone call, regardless the outcome. You will work a calculation with the score sheet totals to determine your averages. Your first few call sessions might be a little ruff. But once you know your averages it is a mild motivation to know that after you get to the average number of no thanks you, you will make a call with positive results. The sequence is: 1. There could be other reasons for readmission rather than just lack of instructions or education. The studies that involved Medicare were able to use their insurance databases to determine readmission rates by running large reports on insurance claims with the ability to research tens of thousands of subjects as seen the studies done by Costantino et al (2013) and Harrison et al (2011). I recall I was in the kitchen grabbing a snack from the fridge when my phone rang. I remember that before even hanging up with Ms. Rola, I found all my family around me hugging and congratulating me. I couldn't believe it at first. After years of hard work, I made it to AUB with a full scholarship to a major that I always had a passion in. Something to be proud of, right? I was thrilled, but scared at the same time. I knew that AUB will be a big challenge, a different environment with different people and a different lifestyle. Nevertheless, I was up for it. I always wanted to become an AUB student yet it was a burden to afford such prestigious education, knowing that my father is the only breadwinner of the family. He used to always tell me: "Do not worry about the money, everything will work out eventually", but I knew that he was just comforting me. By the time I got the call, I was already planning my next year at a public university. I still remember my father's face the moment he knew about the scholarship as he hugged me and whispered to me that he is very proud of my achievements. The first few days at AUB were weird. That use some light hearted, comedic and joyful phrases and informal dialogue which later begins to sound more serious and rough through more formal phrases. The tension slowly rises and Fugard keeps the audience hooked with every detail. He uses a variety of literary techniques in a short time between the two phone calls, from Hally's mother. Hally is therefore creating suspense for the audience and Fugard uses the powerful verb in the stage directions "slamming" for a dramatic effect in performance. However, shortly after this rise in suspense, Fugard uses the calming phrase of "Come on Hally" to reduce the tension. These stories are two of America's favorite short stories. They are both very great stories to learn from, but in different ways. These stories are loved for their life lessons. A Telephone Call teaches you that women don't need a man to call them. The Child's Story teaches us to cherish every moment we have with our family. These stories have many similarities and many differences. In these stories they both have a romantic relationship of some sort. In both stories the author changes the emotions rapidly. In A Telephone Call the woman is optimistic at first and then gets angry and upset then she starts to make excuses. In The Child's Story the author changes emotions by the traveller being happy for finding someone then losing them, this happens multiple times. Another similarity is that you do not know exactly how old the main characters are. In A Telephone Call you are to assume she is in her mid 20s because of the way she talks about the man and that it seems as she lives alone. • 50. 911 Phone Calls: A Textual Analysis One thing I found interesting was the part where the blind girl was walking down the sidewalk. Usually when she walked down the sidewalk people would be courteous and moe to the side to "be out of the way". Though people thought they were just being nice, this made her feel almost lonely walking, as if no one else was there with her because she couldn't hear or feel them among her. With the device, she was able to sense people on the street with her feeling vibrations on her tongue. I just thought that would've been an amazing experience to witness that and it really caught my attention. Another thing that really made me pay attention was the 911 phone call. I don't think this was supposed to be such a big impact in the video but it was for me. The phone call was about an attack on a girl and she had called 911 for help. Being that she spoke another language, she needed translation (which is where I think it comes in handy with this video). Usually 911 translation operators don't get these kinds of calls often. Most are questions about what we might think are "easy." So this was kind of a shock. The phone call ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 52. Calling Vs. Texting Appropriate Communication When Phone... Two of the most common ways to communicate in today's age are calling and texting. There are many advantages and disadvantages to these modern communication methods. Phone calls can help both communicators to better understand the conversation, but can be very public to people standing nearby. On the other hand, texting is more discreet in public, but texts can make it harder to decipher the meaning behind the words. Where one option lacks, the other provides for your needs, and vice versa. Texts have many advantages, as well as disadvantages. The benefits of texting include quick conversations when time is scarce, and the ability for a reserved person to communicate. Some of the benefits of calling include being more suitable for long conversations, as well as making sure the other person receives the message. Calling is more appropriate for long or complex conversations because lengthy and complicated ideas are not as easy to convey with typed words. Conversation can better move around the topic, and be better explained, when spoken words are used to get the ideas across. Furthermore, when a telephone call is made, it can be ensured that the intended person is the one to receive the message. This does not always work with texting. No texted reply from the other person could either mean that they didn't receive the information, or that they simply didn't feel the need to respond. When calling, the caller will know that the answerer received the message once the phone is picked up. If the phone is not picked up, the caller will know for certain that their message was not delivered. One of the hindrances of calling is the chance of being overheard. When words are said aloud, anyone within earshot could hear the conversation. This can be a problem when the conversation is private, whether for personal or business reasons. The examples listed here are just a few of the many advantages and disadvantages of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 54. Mobile Phones : A Way Of Making Phone Calls On A Wireless... nce upon a time (in 1983, to be precise), we were introduced to mobile phones: a way of making phone calls on a wireless device. This first "brick" may have been hefty and clunky (NBC News, 2005) but it laid the foundations for a dramatic change in technology. Ten years later, 1993 presented us with the concept of texting. Then, in 2002, came the invention of the smart phone. Over the past three decades, phones have revolutionised our lives (Boy Genius Report, 2013). Clinician time lost due to no–shows is unrecoverable. Because of the unpredictable nature of appointment nonadherence, providers' schedule gaps cannot be filled with other patients. Since the no–shows then to occur at spotty intervals, creating short periods of downtime, it is even difficult for providers to fill the time with administrative tasks. The more patients that adhere to the appointment, the more money the clinic brings in. Short message service is a low cost tool that could be used to create higher adherence rates. In England alone, a 25% to 28% reduction in missed outpatient appointments would translate to national cost savings of more than $245 million per year. The goal of this study was to determine the impact of reminder systems on appointment adherence rates within a clinic. The "buddy system" was his decision, partly because he wanted more accountability from the staff, but mostly because he had seen it work effectively in another workplace. This would prove to be a costly mistake. With this newly adopted concept, we were now in the market for a new phone system. The current phone system would not support the additional lines or the architecture of linking phones to enable partner monitoring. We looked at a number of different models from a number of different manufacturers including digital, IP and a hybrid of the two. We also visited a number of companies referenced by the vendor to actually see the system in operation. What we really focused on was a solid system that was easily expandable, carrying all the features we were accustomed to and the capability of linking multiple lines on a single phone.
