Introduction. This section provides a brief course description, per syllabus, and a
picture of Earthrise (1968) symbolic of perspective, as we will be discussing
various literary text from various structures and perspectives.

Introduction. The syllabus link is presented before the 12 weekly sections. It
provides the course general and specific objectives. Documents are presented as
needed weekly and are also shown under Announcements.
5. Advanced English for Pre-Engineering Students
Lesson. This lesson is based on one week’s work on Literary Structures, aka Literary
Criticism. Students are divided into four groups to conduct research and present it in a
discussion foum. The four groups: (1) Historic and Biographic, (2) Ecocritical, (3) Marxist and
Socio-economic, and (4) Pyschological and Archetypes. A rubric has been added to assist in
self-evaluation of participation on the forum. Students are encouraged to cite and include
videos, external links, and images related to their structure.
