Eric Fitch
Introduction Eric Fitch, alumnus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is no stranger to new
ideas and technology–centered ventures, having fifteen years of past experience in fields such as
biotech, healthcare, smart materials and others (IdeaMensch, 2011). His latest company allies this
entrepreneur spirit with another of his passions, beer, for the creation of PurposeEnergy, a way to
reuse the waste on the production of the beer to create energy and other sub products. This report
describes the background of Eric Fitch, and the process of the creation of PurposeEnergy, as well as
detailed view on how it works and the future developments. The sources of this information are

The main point was the diversion of the waste stream to the plant, reducing transportation, and with
that air and noise pollution and traffic, and creating a clean and renewable source of energy. It lost to
the Tekeze Hydropower project in Ethiopia (Morris, 2010). Challenges Although it is hard to see a
brewery that would not benefit from PurposeEnergy system, it is not a project easy to expand due to
the large cost of implantation. The second one on Dellaware did not have its construction cost
divulged, but the one on Vermont cost 4 million dollars (CBS News, 2011). Another big challenge is
the fact that it is very centralized on Eric Fitch. Not only he is the founder, CEO, but he is also the
main technical person, responsible for solving the problems in the plants. With this centralization, it
is so far very hard to expand the business too far from Massachusetts.

Eric Krebs Reflection
On January 31st, I had the privilege of attending the first introduction to theater arts class taught by
Eric Krebs. As I traveled all the way to third floor of Baruch College, I was uncertain of what to
expect from this class. However, I was excited because I personally enjoy the art of theater and I
was curious about how Eric Krebs would teach the class. After about two hours, I came to a
conclusion that the class performed by the amazing Eric Krebs was astonishing. In the beginning of
the introduction to theater arts performance, there were scenes of Eric Krebs covering the overview
of the semester. Initially, I was scared from the upcoming work I was going to receive this semester,
but I realized after Eric Krebs went over the semester assignments, that they were manageable and
intended to enhance a student's abilities to review a theatrical performance. Later in the
performance, I witnessed Eric Krebs talk about how in most classes, professors would not be as
engaging with the audience. Normal professors usually just talk about their lessons through
PowerPoints and ask students if they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He utilizes many props just to show his audience about different perspectives. It was truly
memorable because throughout the lesson, Eric Krebs was so unpredictable. Eric Krebs brought in a
hammer and a mirror to the class. Later, he proceeded to break the mirror with the hammer, which
left everyone speechless and amazed. Clearly, it grabbed everyone's attention because no professor
has ever broken a mirror and ignored a safety hazard in front of a class. That was a bold and
fantastic choice to make for the first performance ever in theater class. For the most part, I admire
this performance because it focused on the introduction of this class, professor himself, and the
concept of "art", in the most unique and breathtaking

Eric Clapton
Eric Clapton arose in the 1960's through a few bands as a part of the British invasion and it was
during this time where it could be seen that Eric may have been influencing not only Rock and roll
but the blues also. These bands included The Yardbirds, Blind Faith, and The Blues breakers and
most notably Cream. Eric Clapton seemingly could not sit still within one group for very long. He
was learning from many different stylistic approaches to blues in his younger years and also later,
from being in many blues bands such as The Yardbirds, Derek And The Dominos, Cream and John
Mayall And The Blues Breakers. The earlier years can be seen as the time before the rise of bands
such as The Rolling Stones and The Yardbirds it was the British Blues ... Show more content on

From humble beginnings to massive arenas, he achieved the level to which he has risen to through
many choices throughout his career. The first of which during his early teen years where Eric would
not sit still within one realm of blues music, he strived to learn all that he could about many different
American Blues legends such as Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters and Chuck Berry. Eric understood
at a young age that if he were to be a success he would need to look up to incredibly inspirational
guitarists such as Robert Johnson, as to propel him forward in his own abilities. This in turn led Eric
Clapton down the path towards becoming one of the most influential guitarists in the Blues–rock
genre. Secondly, Eric played a big role in the advancement of Blues–rock as a part of the British
Invasion. Eric partook in some of the biggest bands of the British Invasion, this in turn continued to
tie into the fact that Eric strived to know all that he could within the genre of blues–rock, the bands
included The Yardbirds, Derek and the Dominos and most notably Cream and the Blues Breakers.
The band that gave Eric the most notoriety within the United States was Cream, which is shown
through the vast amount of albums of Blues–rock sold through the few years of the British Invasion.
This can be seen as to why Eric became so influential as a blues guitarist, his music was being

Search For Happiness In Eric Weiner's The Geography Of Bliss
In The Geography of Bliss, Eric Weiner travels to many different countries in search of one thing:
happiness. The book details the writer's, Eric Weiner's, journey to multiple countries and his
experiences there on his search for happiness. He searches from the unhappiest countries to the
happiest countries to find how geography affects the happiness of the people that live there. His
search often has interesting clashes between philosophical and scientific viewpoints on happiness.
In the Netherlands he encounters an interesting point when he meets scholars of the World Database
of Happiness or the WDH. This organization focuses on using hard facts and statistics to measure
the happiness of multiple countries around the world. This seems to be a mistake, since happiness is
generally supposed to be some magical feeling that is constantly sought ... Show more content on

He goes there to see if the people there can actually buy their happiness which the readers should
already know is not true since the WDH already said that money doesn't equal happiness. He states
that Qatar has no culture of it's own, but must buy one. This tells the reader that with all this money
Qatar Loses it's own culture and by extension it's identity. Eric starts to believe that Qatar is happy
with all of their money. Eric then finds that sadness can strike even the super rich when he learns of
the sick child of a citizen there. With this he brings in the new theory that to be happy, one must
experience sadness first.
Qatar is a rare and interesting case since it's so closed off from the rest of the world. This isolation
means that it has very little diversity which would have led to a nice topic about how it affects
happiness. He could've made the argument that the lack of diversity could mean that there is less
conflict and therefore more happiness. It seems that he missed an important topic here that would've
led to a larger study at the

Eric Harris Case Study
Eric Harris was just 18 years old when he and his friend, Dylan Klebold committed the worst
shooting in the US at the time, the massacre at Columbine High School. They were just two weeks
away from graduation. Eric was born in Wichita, Kansas to Wayne and Kathy Harris. His father was
employed as a transport pilot in the Air Force, and as a result, the family was constantly relocating.
Wayne held 11 different positions at 6 bases in the states of Ohio, Michigan and New York. The
family finally settled in Plattsburgh, New York when Wayne was forced into retirement in 1993 due
to military cutbacks. The understanding was that this would be their last move, however, they
relocated one last time to the Denver suburb of Littleton, Colorado in July of ... Show more content

His father wrote that Eric would "suppress his anger, then 'blow up' and hit something or verbally
lash out" (Diversion Documents, 1998). He had a very difficult time managing stress. Joining the
Marines may have proved to be troublesome for Eric as he evidently had problems with authority
which can be seen in the words, "I don't like people I have no respect for trying to tell me what to do
or what to think" (Diversion Documents, 1998). His parents did not tolerate substance use, so there
was little to no drug or alcohol use. Nor was there any criminal history in the family. Eric stated that
gangs were "stupid and dangerous" (Diversion Documents, 1998). This furthers the idea that he had
a problem listening to authority. Prior to the shooting, Dylan and Eric made a few videos regarding
their classmates and the things they wanted to do to them as well as extensively writing about it in
their journals. Eric made detailed floor plans of Columbine and noted when the cafeteria would be
the most crowded. "In the videos shot in Eric's basement bedroom, the pair show off the way their
weapons fit under their trench coats, and both go on about the 'stuck up

Eric Harris Influence On Kids
Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris were the ideal teenage kids, they played sports as kids, but grew out
of them. They became more fascinated with computers, and both had high grades. They got in to a
little bit of trouble here and there, just like every other teenager. From fist glance you would never
know the depth of anger, depression and deception both had hidden inside that would soon explode.
There emotions very diffrent but fit together; Dylan was angry highly depressed and Eric an angry
psychopath, with want to be remembered. The anger broght them close, and also lead them to a
killing rampage at their school. Dylan was known as the shy and nice kid, with a temper that he
occasionaly could not hold back. His parents described him as, "extraordinary shy, but happy,"
(Cullen 209). just a normal teenage boy, although he never had a girlfriend. He did like a girl at his

pestering him and eventually wore him down," (Cullen 202). Eric had alot of anger built up inside,
he hated people who were not equally as smart as him, "Eric's only internal struggle was witch
stupid bastard was more worthy of his wrath," (Cullen 216). He had very intense anger, he wrote
notes that the lead phychiatrist on the case, Dr. Fuserier, said were "very cold blooded", (Cullen

Eric Birling quotation's Point: The first description of Eric is shown in the stage directions when
said Evidence:"In his early twenties, not quite at ease, half shy, half assertive" Explanation: in this
quotation we learn more about the character Eric "early twenties" suggests that he is young and has
a lot to look forward to in life. The word "half shy half assertive" suggests that Eric could be feeling
awkward within the celebration of his sisters Sheila's engagement also it could mean that he has
mood swings. Overall this quotation indicates the audience that he might be dunk. Point: Eric seems
to know how to talk to members in his family as when he says Evidence: "Mother said"

The word "we all helped" suggests that he does not want to let Mrs and Mr Birling get away with
them thinking they had nothing to do with Eva's death. The word "killed" makes me fell that the
Birling family are murderers and coming from Eric this shows that he accepts the blame and also
regrets it, the word also connotes death, anger. Overall we can see that Eric has changed into being a
boy that is shy and quiet grown into a boy that is strong and independent. The audience watching
this in 1945 will have respect for Eric as he is not hiding away from the truth and accepts his part
and wants to make sure everyone else in the family accepts it too. Priestley in this quotation tells us
to take responsibility for our own actions. Point: Eric seems to face his father and tells him how he
really feels. Evidence: "Because you're not the kind of father a chap could go to when he is in
trouble" Explanation: In this quotation we can see that Eric does not have a close relationship with
his father. The word "you're not the kind of father" suggests that Birling to Eric hasn't really been a
good father figure for him. Also he seems to have much more strength then he did when he was very
polite and respectful to Birling "yes please" Overall Eric Seems to have much more authority within
the family and does stand

Reconstruction By Eric Foner Analysis
Within the preface of Eric Foner's A Short History of Reconstruction, Foner details the distinct
characteristics of the ever–changing era of Reconstruction, taking place after the Civil War. The
always–changing definitions of history have transformed the process of understanding this time
period (Foner, xi). Because of this, the Preface, written by Foner in 1990, illustrates the drastically
different viewpoints of the schools of thought found during the Reconstruction period. The Preface
is divided into four different sections; each section giving the reader a better understanding of the
different interpretations. These four sections are: The Dunning School during the 1900's, the
Progressive School in the 1920's and 1930's, the Revisionists ... Show more content on

As the wave of new politics and social attitudes, the Revisionists crippled all standing
interpretations, leading to a drastically different account of the Reconstruction. Depicting the
Reconstruction as a time for incredible social and political growth for African Americans,
Revisionists strayed from the original negative connotations of Reconstruction. Within the new
revised Reconstruction, Johnson was no longer the courageous protector of the civil liberties of his
people, but rather a racist who failed to react to the predicaments at hand while in Presidency and
Radicals were no longer money–hungry capitalists of the North, but rather individuals dedicated to
advocacy for African Americans (Foner, xiii). Although using the Civil Rights Movement as the
backbone for the Revisionist era proved itself effective, there were still a group of individuals, Post–
Revisionists, who continued to view the changes during Reconstruction as a bland and inadequate
time in American

Critical Analysis Of Eric Schlosser's 'Your Trusted Friends'
Oftentimes, writers of argumentative essays will explicitly state their claim, establishing a position
on a topic in a clear and concise manner. In doing so, writers' arguments are essentially more
effective in representing the chosen subject matter. In "Your Trusted Friends", investigative
journalist Eric Schlosser writes that Walt Disney and Ray Kroc perfected the art of selling to
children, however, this writing is laced with numerous, hidden, implications. Schlosser's work
subconsciously suggests that companies like Disney and McDonald's prey on children in order to
gain profit. This, therefore, makes his argument weak overall, since instead of blatantly expressing
his opinion, he leaves his audience to guess about the overall purpose of the piece.
Throughout the writing, Schlosser provides historical and statistical information about both the
businessmen, Disney and Kroc, and their individual companies. In the third paragraph, he writes
about the shared experiences between the men, from growing up in the same hometown to serving
in in the same World War I ambulance corps (Schlosser 184). He then lists examples of how the
men's failures in their humble beginnings eventually led to success. Schlosser writes that the men,
for example, focused more on strengthening their marketing strategies and standing in as authority
figures instead of wasting time on attempts to add new dishes to the McDonald's menu or trying to
write and animate Disney cartoons (Schlosser 184). In

How Is Eric Harris Related To Columbine Shooting
Why did Eric and Dylan do it? What made the two even consider the columbine massacre? Dylan
Klebold was a depressant. He felt as if people in the school had left him out, as if he wasn't
important enough for them. Dylan killed because he was in the state of mind that he did not matter
to anyone or anything, as if he was useless and he wanted attention for once. He had succeeded at
getting his attention. Dylan was hotheaded, but depressive and suicidal. Dylan would have never
pulled off the Columbine massacre without Eric. "Eric was not a depressive, like Dylan, that was for
sure." (196) Eric Harris was a psychopath. Eric found joy out of violence and didn't care who he
hurt. He had no regrets over hurting people. Eric was sweet–faced and well spoken, like many other
manipulative psychopaths. Adults, and even most kids would describe Harris as "nice." Harris was
actually cold, calculating, and homicidal. Harris was not merely a troubled kid, but psychiatrists say,
he was a psychopath. Harris has a private journal, it opened with "I hate the f***ing world." Harris's
hatred supposedly led him to revenge. This all make look like hate in Eric's eyes, but really it was
more about demanding other people. Gray2 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Harris and Klebold were facing many problems within themselves that no one noticed. The little
things that no one pays any attention too. The two planned this out well. As the book goes on to say,
"there were no signs of anything to predict murder."(197) Klebold was hurting inside while Harris
wanted to hurt people. Both of the guys had a serious problem with pain. Klebold did not want to be
hurting anymore and Harris was only happy when someone was being hurt due to his psychopathic
ways. The guys clicked because they were both tired of the pain and decided to do something about

Mass Movement In Eric Kushner's A Bright Room Called Day
Nowadays, mass movement is defined as an assimilation process, where people throw away their
own personal identities and follow submissively the orders of their leaders. The idea of people being
obedient to some of the cruelest orders, such as killing millions of people in the Holocaust, surprises
many people. Thus, many authors decide to find out the answer by bringing up many opinions about
the creation of the mass movement in their own books or plays for discussion. One of those authors
is Eric Hoffer, who suggests that a mass movement is created by the cooperation between "the man
of words", "the fanatic", and "the man of actions" (147). In fact, he points out that the three groups
have the same craving for something new and different that they believe can only be obtained
through a revolution. At the same time, Tony Kushner also offers his own belief on the topic through
his play "A Bright Room Called Day" by establishing a setting in Berlin, where people follow their
own party in a fight against the development of a Nazi government. Moreover, many characters in
the play perform somewhat similar roles to the three groups' duties described by Hoffer. In fact, the
characteristics of Baz as an outsider and a man of words, Agnes as a fanatic who joins the party out
of boredom, and Zillah as a person of action who refuses to accept the Reagan government will be
discussed in this essay to identify the similarities and differences between the viewpoints of two
authors about

Eric Harris Mass Shooting
The Incident
Tuesday, April 20th, 1999, at 11:10, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, drove to Columbine High
School, and parked in front of the school's cafeteria. As they got out of their cars, Klebold walked
over to Harris's truck and the two grabbed two 20 pound propane bombs from his car. They both
walked over and entered the school and planted the two bombs inside of the cafeteria. Klebold and
Harris walked back to their cars and waited for the bombs to detonate (CNN, Updated 2018). As
Harris is walking he is stopped by another student and talked for a brief minute. After the
conversation Harris then tells the student to leave the school. Once he left Klebold and Harris waited

In 1999, the time the massacre took place, violence like this rarely happened; let alone at a school.
After Columbine there was this sense of fear in communities, families, law enforcement, and in
schools, and all people wanted to know was why this did happen (Pittaro, 2007)? How could two
kids do this, and how could it be prevented? There are a few explanations and theories that can be
applied to this incident that deal with both psychological and sociological issues. The first theory is
the social learning theory. This theory deals with how people learn certain behaviors and values
through their families, community, peers, and even other media outlets. How this theory applies to
Harris and Klebold is that these two were opposites. As stated above, after the shooting psychologist
really believed that Harris was a psychopath and mentally unstable, and people knew him of being
aggressive, he was often depressed, and had tried to kill himself on multiple occasions. On the other
hand Klebold was the complete opposite. For the people who knew him he was nice and friendly,
even participated in a few of the schools productions and worked the light board for plays and
concerts. Three days before the massacre he attended the schools prom with friends, so how these
two completely opposite kids did were find a common interest in violence? This is where the social
learning theory can be applied. Klebold was still an

Eric Schmidt 's Personal Life And Professional Career

Eric Harris Deceit
One possible theme of the novel Columbine is deceit. Eric Harris's person is a prime example of this
deceit. For one, Eric, one of the Columbine School shooters, could just about get any girl he wanted
based purely off his outward charm and charisma, but as any reader of Columbine would know, Eric
was a dark and vengeful person who wanted nothing more than to show the world his power.
Another example of Eric's deceit was his relationship with his parents. Eric played nice and innocent
for exactly as long as it took to get his parents off his back, and then he would go right back to doing
what he was doing before his punishment except he would be more careful yet more extreme. (b)

These three factors combined with others resulted in extreme depression for Dylan. He was on the
verge of committing suicide for over a year before he actually did kill himself after the killings in
Columbine School. His depression was severe and his shyness made it worse, but he wasn't always
shy and there were times that his anger that he always held inside would erupt. When these
"tantrums" occurred, Dylan was almost a completely different person, and they would frighten most
everyone around him. Most of all though, Dylan was a follower not a leader, and Eric Harris gave
him someone to follow. (c) The book at times was difficult to read purely on the fact that some of
the information seemed a little repetitive at times. Other than that, the book was a good read because
of all the detail it went into. I thoroughly enjoy novels that portray the whole picture, and this book
did. One thing the author did to "lighten the load" of the book was to mix the material subjects. For
example, one chapter might talk about the details of Eric's life while the next talks about martyrdom
of students; in a way,

Different countries have different cultural values and traits. People with different culture have a

a group of human beings and transmitted from one generation to another (dictionary.com). In the

different countries during his journey in finding the data of happiness. In his journey, he mentioned
some countries particularly Netherlands, Switzerland, Bhutan and Qatar. People in Netherlands have
known for their tolerance, while people in Switzerland have known for their self–policing and

Reconstruction: Eric Foner

APUSH Period 3

Reconstruction: Eric Foner The Reconstruction time period, 1865 through 1877, was a complex time
for America. The southern part of the nation was in need of governmental, economical, and social
repair after losing the Civil War. Radical Republicans, Democrats, and newly freed African
Americans all were influential in the age of Reconstruction. Historians have struggled to put into
words exactly what Reconstruction incorporates and precisely what the motives of the different
groups of people were. Renowned American historian, Eric Foner, is a professor at Columbia
University. He has written many books concerning the Civil War and Reconstruction eras. Eric

Forever. 170). The Klan were white southerners who were organized and committed to the breaking
down of Reconstruction. By methods of brutality, "the Klan during Reconstruction offers the most
extensive example of homegrown terrorism in American history" (Foner. Forever. 171). The Ku
Klux Klan as well as other groups killed or tormented black politicians or threatened the blacks who
voted in elections. The Klan strongly disagreed with the northern idea that slaves should become
part of the government. The Historian Kenneth M. Stampp states, "for their [the North] supreme
offense was not corruption but attempting to organize the Negroes for political action" (Stampp. Era.
159). This corresponds with Foner's idea that the South was not open to the idea of change but more
so consumed with the idea of recreating a society similar to one of the past. However, the goal of
white power groups was not just politics. The Klan wanted to restore the hierarchy once controlling
the South. Foner observes that, "the organization took on the function of the antebellum slave
patrols: making sure that blacks did not violate the rules and etiquette of white supremacy" (Foner.
Forever. 172). Like the power the southern whites formerly held over the slave population, the Ku
Klux Klan wanted to control the African American population still living in the South. They did not
want the freedmen to become integrated into their society because they saw them as lesser people.

The Fast Food Nation By Eric Schlosser
'The Fast Food Nation' by Eric Schlosser was published in January 17th, 2001. Eric Schlosser is an
American journalist and is well known as an author who uses investigative journalism in most of his
books. For his book, The Fast Food Nation also he has used the same. What is visible through this
book is that extensive research has been done to write it.
Fast food restaurants are something that everyone is attracted to in the modern times as they want to
avoid the tedious work of cooking at home after a long and tiring day at work. To add to that, these
restaurants are clean! What could possibly go wrong then! Eric Schlosser, in this book tells us about
almost everything that we need to know about fast food chains, restaurants and driveways that have
been coming up and making large amount of profits day after day. Schlosser mentions about the
history of these fast food restaurants, however, this is not something I will be dealing with in depth

restaurants. This was a time when capitalism was at rise in America. Hence, these restaurants made
even more profits. But, Schlosser shows us a different side of the coin

Eric Patrick Hendrix Research Paper
Eric Patrick Clapton was an English musician, singer–songwriter, and guitarist of the 1960's, who
was influenced by the legendary blues guitarist, Robert Johnson. Robert Johnson had a brief career,
but inspired many rock 'n' roll musicians, such as Clapton. When reviewing Clapton's songs, there
are many musical attributes that come from Johnson. In fact, Clapton made an album called 'Me and
Mr. Johnson' as tribute to Johnson, because of the impact he had on Clapton's musical career.
Clapton has been through many bands, but he always ended up leaving them because their style was
not similar to his own. His musical style was rock 'n' roll, but the blues and Johnson's style were
always incorporated within Clapton's songs.

art branch of Holyfield Road School. Then at the age of sixteen, he was accepted into the Kingston
College of Art with a one year probation. One day, Clapton came across Robert Johnson's music,
which influenced him to buy his first electric guitar. He later on discovered booze and was expelled
from college for one year. When Clapton finished college in 1963, he started to hang around the
West End of London and tried to break into the music industry as a guitarist. He joined his first

Eric Harris And Columbine Shooting Essay
Columbine was one of the most terrifying things to happen to the United States at its time of
occurrence, and it was especially worrisome knowing who did it. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold
were two students from Columbine High School, and they prepared to kill as many of their
classmates and teachers as they could with the help of a semi–automatic pistol, carbine, two
shotguns, knives, and pipe bombs. One of the most common questions racing through everyone's
head was "Why did they do it?" This question is hard to answer when both the perpetrators killed
themselves to finish their big event, but with the help of their journals and the people that
surrounded them, a few things can be determined about their motives and reasoning. Eric Harris was
a charming young man who had no trouble ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Depression consumed him for the years leading up to April 1999, and it made him vulnerable to
making decisions he knew were wrong. Dylan was very uncertain about going through with the plan
Eric was leading, but nothing was happening for him to say otherwise. The highly persuasive and
manipulative Eric was the only person he felt the need to please, and in the end, he followed through
with what Eric wanted. Traumatic experiences can stick with a person for the rest of their lives, and
the columbine shooting was one of that affected many. At times of despair and wondering, questions
cannot cease to flow. "Why did they do it? Why us? What happened to them to make them act that
way?" Sometimes these questions can never fully be answered, and there are only assumptions and
theories to surround them. Since Eric and Dylan are deceased, the victims must take what they can
from what they left behind, and they left in their journals and writings who they were and what they
thought. Anger–filled Eric lacked sympathy and empathy, while Dylan was depressed and suicidal.

1. How has Altera modified its strategy? Why?
Altera learned a hard lesson in inventory management after losing $115 million worth of inventory
in the 2000–2001 timeframe. Altera produced its programmable logic devices and stocked them in
warehouses waiting for customer demands. Their thought was to provide a cost advantage to their
customers by having readily available stocks. Altera also leaned forward to help customers by
building new products from specs. This push strategy backfired, and resulted in the $115 million
loss.
Altera has now modified their strategy towards a push–pull strategy. The push strategy is to produce
mainstream products in the form of die banks, which is the largest portion of the manufacturing
process. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
* Inventory levels will have to be closely monitored as the customer orders will require special

3. How do you anticipate Altera's customers will react to this new strategy? What are some
advantages and disadvantages for Altera's customer?
I believe Alters customers will react positively to their strategic changes. It should appear to the
customers as an obvious solution to establish open communications and seeking more information
to help the customer, however there are advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages
* Altera will have better insight into inventory levels of the customers and be in a better position to
advise of possible overstocking. * Implementation of supply change management software will
improve production and inventory efficiencies. The cost savings may be passed down to Altera's
customers.
Disadvantages * Altera's customers may see longer lead times for parts. Parts previously received in
days are now going to take weeks and months, pending customer orders. Advance notice and more
open communication should mitigate adverse effects on production. * The customer may be
reluctant to share inventory and

Eric Schlosser's 'Fast Food Nation'
Fast Food Nation Essay In the business world, many people have prime focuses which determine
what actions they should take in attempts to achieve their goals. Sometimes this drive can be
beneficial, ensuring one's path to success. Everyone's motives are different as they are ultimately

founder of the McDonald's Corporation. In his book, Fast Food Nation, Eric Schlosser discusses

During the start of the McDonald's company, the McDonald's Brothers had revolutionized the
restaurant business through the idea of self–service. "Imagine – No Carhops – No Waitresses – No
Dishwashers – No Bus Boys...," they'd say (Schlosser 20). As a result of the new Speedee Service
System, McDonald's had never been in better shape. Ray Kroc, amazed by this, expanded the model
all across the United States, increasing McDonald's popularity. Apart from that, the creation of
institutions like Hamburger University also solidify the service standards each restaurant should
maintain. Hamburger University trained thousands of workers yearly, passing along "a common
McDonald's language" and "a common McDonald's culture (Schlosser 31)." Through this, Ray Kroc
created a single standard in which their service should be executed. This could make up for the lack
of employee involvement in the new self–service model. McDonald's was slowly becoming a
beloved family name. The service prompted many families to stop by frequently, which boosted the
idea of selling the brand to kids, perfecting McDonald's marketing tool, and raising overall sales.

Stetooden (2009) reveals that it is possibly Eric Carle's childhood that has provoked the sensational
books illustrated and written by him. Carle's family left New York after living there six years to
return to his parents' home of Germany. It was in Germany where Carle's father was drafted into the
German Army and then not seen for eight years as he became a prisoner in Russia. The years of war
and time without his father took toil on the author/illustrator. A frail father eventually returned, and
Carle had to rely on his early memories of his father to encourage him and even give him artistic
inspiration. Carle recalls one such memory that has inspired many of his books involving nature as
he related that he and his father "used to go for long walks in the countryside together, and he would

have an abiding love and affection for small insignificant animals" ("Eric"). With his creativity and

of these books. His creativity does not end with books; his other interests lie in "painting, sculpture,

Clapton then left the Bluesbreakers in 1966 in order to start his own band, Cream, with bassist Jack

people thought about music, with which he succeeded. His band very quickly became on of the most
prominent bands of the 60s, even beginning to be compared with the all time greats of the Rolling
Stones and the Beatles. However, because of arguing egos among the band members and drug use in
all of them, they broke up in 1969. Clapton, however, got back together with Baker and with bassist
Rich Green and Traffic's Steve Winwood to record one album as Blind Faith, rock's first
"supergroup". They released one cd and went on a 24 city tour in America, the stress from which
caused the band to break up not even one year after it was formed. Clapton kept busy for a while
with lesser bands and small–time performances, during which time he was influenced the most. He
was involved in a complicated love triangle with his friend, George Harrison's, wife (who he
eventually married in 1979 and divorced in 1988), which inspired him to write "Layla". He

Dictionary.com defines Human Geography as "the study of the interaction between human beings
and their environment in particular places and across spatial areas." Relating to the book, how does
geography affect happiness? "The nineteenth–century Italian painter Giovanni Segantini once said
that people of the mountains see the sun rise and set as a golden fireball, full of life and energy,
while flatlanders know only a tired and drunk sun" (Weiner 35). From the results proven by Weiner,
geography does affect happiness. Bhutan is a tiny nation in the foothills of the Himalayas and was

forsaking western–style incomes for life in Bhutan" (Weiner 90). Geography clearly has an effect on
happiness, because these individuals are turning down more money and jobs to return home to the

Over the span of one century, the world has had significant changes to society, such as

The fine was $480 for each man's death." (Schlosser). That any supervisor who loses a worker on
the job has to only pay a compensation fee of $480 is impossible to justify. One especially sad
anecdote is that of Kenny Dobbins, an uneducated man, who is repeatedly injured on the job, but
keeps going back until he is crippled and permanently disabled. This story speaks the truth of how
meat packaging corporations take their workers for granted by using them for everything they have,
than discarding them like a dirty rag. Corporations like slaughterhouses do not care about employees
getting injured because they know a majority of desperate immigrants would gladly have the
morally degrading job. Often, animals' feelings and well being have been overlooked because
society has instilled the idea that animals have no emotions. The Jungle describes animals as being a

Harold Abraham was a British runner and a Jew who struggled to change other people's thought of

Harold Abrahams was of the Jewish faith. For instance, Jews do not eat pork because in the Old

this belief was seen in the movie when it showed that his girlfriend Sybil order pork in the restaurant

Even though Burnham looks very old, his eyes show that he is still as intelligent and sharp as he

Through his eyes, it shows that over the many years of experience, Burnham has acquired even
more wisdom than he ever had.

The author obviously intended to start a sentence with the conjunction "and". Eric Larson wanted to

Larson could have easily put "and there was murder" connected to the listed diseases but, he wanted
to put emphasis on the murder part by catching the audience's attention through the use "incorrect

Burnham is a very honorable man. Immediately after he finds out about his brothers scandal, he
goes to break off the engagement to save Margaret's name from getting tarnished by this said
scandal. He must have loved and cared for his future wife enough to break off the engagement to
save her name from being soiled.

Eric Burdon And The Animals Essay
The Animals were an integral part of the 1960s British rock scene. Captivating audiences with
singer Eric Burdon's deep, howling vocals, the band became something to talk about. Coming over
to the U.S. during the height of the British Invasion, the band had legions of screaming fans fainting
at the mere sight of them. In late 1966–early 1967, the original line–up disbanded and a new version
was formed under the name Eric Burdon & the Animals. Though the band didn't last more than a
decade in any form, their music lived on as some of the most important and influential recordings
ever. In 1994, The Animals were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Read on to learn
more about the band's legacy, and watch out for part two of our list, ... Show more content on

Despite the fact that they had ten Top 20 singles, The Animals only had one number one. The band's
arrangement of "House of the Rising Sun" made the song synonymous with the group, even though
it had been recorded by artists both before and after them.
Number Fourteen: They Were Featured in a Movie. When The Animals first came over to the United
States in the mid–1960s, the band was cast in a B–film called Get Yourself a College Girl, starring
Mary Ann Mobley, Chad Everett and Nancy Sinatra. The band played themselves, performing the
songs "Blue Feeling" and "Around and Around." Also a featured performer in the film: The Dave
Clark Five.
Number Thirteen: Their Manager Was Kidnapped by Yakuza. During the band's second incarnation,
Eric Burdon & the Animals played a tour in Japan. The promotors of the tour, who were secretly
members of the Yakuza, were not happy that the tour was delayed two months, and kidnapped the
band's manager a couple of days into the tour. They made him write an IOU for $25,000 to offset
fees incurred because of the lateness of the tour. Once their manager obliged and the Yakuza set him
free, the band was told to either leave Japan or be killed.
Number Twelve: The Original Line–up Briefly Reunited. Between 1975 and 1983, The Animals
reunited their original line–up and released two

Eric Schmidt : The New Digital Age
Eric Schmidt was born on April 27, 1955 in Washington, D.C. He is married to Wendy Schmidt,
whom he met at Berkley; they have two daughters together. A few hobbies of Schmidt are art
collecting, aviation, contributing, and writing books.
In 2013 Schmidt released his first book called 'The New Digital Age' and in 2014 his second book,
'How Google Works'. 'How Google Works' is not just another managerial book. In his book, Schmidt
explains a manager's perspective. When managers and CEO's have meetings, we can sometimes
think they are pointless, but these meetings have great meaning for an organization. Schmidt for
instance, comes up with ways to enhance his methods of making his corporation successful. He also
explains in his book that most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the age of 21, Schmidt received a B.S. in electrical engineering from Princeton University. At 24
he received an M.S. in electrical engineering and when he was 27 he acquired his Ph.D. in computer
science from the University of California at Berkley. In conjunction with his many degrees arose
many successful jobs which eventually led up to him to become Google's CEO. A few places of
employment where Schmidt has worked are Zilog, Bell Laboratories, Xerox Palo Alto Research
Center, Sun Microsystem's Inc., and Novell. Schmidt was the CEO of Novell from 1997–2001. After
leaving Novell, Schmidt met Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who employed Schmidt as their CEO.
Page and Brin liked what Schmidt had to offer so there was no hesitation in bringing him on board.
Google was invented by Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 1998. In 2001 Page and Brin appointed
Schmidt as their CEO. From 2001–2011 while Schmidt was CEO of Google, Page was the president
of products and Brin was the president of technology. Since 2011, Page has been the CEO of Google
and Schmidt is now the Executive Chairman.
When Google was first invented, Page and Brin were not technically un–established but they weren't
making high ranking revenue. Alone, they had about 200 employees. Schimdt was a bit hesitant
about becoming Google's CEO in 2001 because of their lack of profit. He turned this startup
company that began in Silicon Valley into a global leader that now employs over 40,000 people.

Eric Fitch's PurposeEnergy Converts Beer Waste into Renewable Energy

  • 1. Eric Fitch Introduction Eric Fitch, alumnus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is no stranger to new ideas and technology–centered ventures, having fifteen years of past experience in fields such as biotech, healthcare, smart materials and others (IdeaMensch, 2011). His latest company allies this entrepreneur spirit with another of his passions, beer, for the creation of PurposeEnergy, a way to reuse the waste on the production of the beer to create energy and other sub products. This report describes the background of Eric Fitch, and the process of the creation of PurposeEnergy, as well as detailed view on how it works and the future developments. The sources of this information are PurposeEnergy's website, and articles from TechnologyReview, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The main point was the diversion of the waste stream to the plant, reducing transportation, and with that air and noise pollution and traffic, and creating a clean and renewable source of energy. It lost to the Tekeze Hydropower project in Ethiopia (Morris, 2010). Challenges Although it is hard to see a brewery that would not benefit from PurposeEnergy system, it is not a project easy to expand due to the large cost of implantation. The second one on Dellaware did not have its construction cost divulged, but the one on Vermont cost 4 million dollars (CBS News, 2011). Another big challenge is the fact that it is very centralized on Eric Fitch. Not only he is the founder, CEO, but he is also the main technical person, responsible for solving the problems in the plants. With this centralization, it is so far very hard to expand the business too far from Massachusetts. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Eric Krebs Reflection On January 31st, I had the privilege of attending the first introduction to theater arts class taught by Eric Krebs. As I traveled all the way to third floor of Baruch College, I was uncertain of what to expect from this class. However, I was excited because I personally enjoy the art of theater and I was curious about how Eric Krebs would teach the class. After about two hours, I came to a conclusion that the class performed by the amazing Eric Krebs was astonishing. In the beginning of the introduction to theater arts performance, there were scenes of Eric Krebs covering the overview of the semester. Initially, I was scared from the upcoming work I was going to receive this semester, but I realized after Eric Krebs went over the semester assignments, that they were manageable and intended to enhance a student's abilities to review a theatrical performance. Later in the performance, I witnessed Eric Krebs talk about how in most classes, professors would not be as engaging with the audience. Normal professors usually just talk about their lessons through PowerPoints and ask students if they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He utilizes many props just to show his audience about different perspectives. It was truly memorable because throughout the lesson, Eric Krebs was so unpredictable. Eric Krebs brought in a hammer and a mirror to the class. Later, he proceeded to break the mirror with the hammer, which left everyone speechless and amazed. Clearly, it grabbed everyone's attention because no professor has ever broken a mirror and ignored a safety hazard in front of a class. That was a bold and fantastic choice to make for the first performance ever in theater class. For the most part, I admire this performance because it focused on the introduction of this class, professor himself, and the concept of "art", in the most unique and breathtaking ... • 5. Eric Clapton Eric Clapton arose in the 1960's through a few bands as a part of the British invasion and it was during this time where it could be seen that Eric may have been influencing not only Rock and roll but the blues also. These bands included The Yardbirds, Blind Faith, and The Blues breakers and most notably Cream. Eric Clapton seemingly could not sit still within one group for very long. He was learning from many different stylistic approaches to blues in his younger years and also later, from being in many blues bands such as The Yardbirds, Derek And The Dominos, Cream and John Mayall And The Blues Breakers. The earlier years can be seen as the time before the rise of bands such as The Rolling Stones and The Yardbirds it was the British Blues ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From humble beginnings to massive arenas, he achieved the level to which he has risen to through many choices throughout his career. The first of which during his early teen years where Eric would not sit still within one realm of blues music, he strived to learn all that he could about many different American Blues legends such as Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters and Chuck Berry. Eric understood at a young age that if he were to be a success he would need to look up to incredibly inspirational guitarists such as Robert Johnson, as to propel him forward in his own abilities. This in turn led Eric Clapton down the path towards becoming one of the most influential guitarists in the Blues–rock genre. Secondly, Eric played a big role in the advancement of Blues–rock as a part of the British Invasion. Eric partook in some of the biggest bands of the British Invasion, this in turn continued to tie into the fact that Eric strived to know all that he could within the genre of blues–rock, the bands included The Yardbirds, Derek and the Dominos and most notably Cream and the Blues Breakers. The band that gave Eric the most notoriety within the United States was Cream, which is shown through the vast amount of albums of Blues–rock sold through the few years of the British Invasion. This can be seen as to why Eric became so influential as a blues guitarist, his music was being spread ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Search For Happiness In Eric Weiner's The Geography Of Bliss In The Geography of Bliss, Eric Weiner travels to many different countries in search of one thing: happiness. The book details the writer's, Eric Weiner's, journey to multiple countries and his experiences there on his search for happiness. He searches from the unhappiest countries to the happiest countries to find how geography affects the happiness of the people that live there. His search often has interesting clashes between philosophical and scientific viewpoints on happiness. In the Netherlands he encounters an interesting point when he meets scholars of the World Database of Happiness or the WDH. This organization focuses on using hard facts and statistics to measure the happiness of multiple countries around the world. This seems to be a mistake, since happiness is generally supposed to be some magical feeling that is constantly sought ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He goes there to see if the people there can actually buy their happiness which the readers should already know is not true since the WDH already said that money doesn't equal happiness. He states that Qatar has no culture of it's own, but must buy one. This tells the reader that with all this money Qatar Loses it's own culture and by extension it's identity. Eric starts to believe that Qatar is happy with all of their money. Eric then finds that sadness can strike even the super rich when he learns of the sick child of a citizen there. With this he brings in the new theory that to be happy, one must experience sadness first. Qatar is a rare and interesting case since it's so closed off from the rest of the world. This isolation means that it has very little diversity which would have led to a nice topic about how it affects happiness. He could've made the argument that the lack of diversity could mean that there is less conflict and therefore more happiness. It seems that he missed an important topic here that would've led to a larger study at the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Eric Harris Case Study Eric Harris was just 18 years old when he and his friend, Dylan Klebold committed the worst shooting in the US at the time, the massacre at Columbine High School. They were just two weeks away from graduation. Eric was born in Wichita, Kansas to Wayne and Kathy Harris. His father was employed as a transport pilot in the Air Force, and as a result, the family was constantly relocating. Wayne held 11 different positions at 6 bases in the states of Ohio, Michigan and New York. His father wrote that Eric would "suppress his anger, then 'blow up' and hit something or verbally lash out" (Diversion Documents, 1998). He had a very difficult time managing stress. Joining the Marines may have proved to be troublesome for Eric as he evidently had problems with authority which can be seen in the words, "I don't like people I have no respect for trying to tell me what to do or what to think" (Diversion Documents, 1998). His parents did not tolerate substance use, so there was little to no drug or alcohol use. Nor was there any criminal history in the family. Eric stated that gangs were "stupid and dangerous" (Diversion Documents, 1998). This furthers the idea that he had a problem listening to authority. Prior to the shooting, Dylan and Eric made a few videos regarding their classmates and the things they wanted to do to them as well as extensively writing about it in their journals. • 11. Eric Harris Influence On Kids Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris were the ideal teenage kids, they played sports as kids, but grew out of them. They became more fascinated with computers, and both had high grades. They got in to a little bit of trouble here and there, just like every other teenager. From fist glance you would never know the depth of anger, depression and deception both had hidden inside that would soon explode. There emotions very diffrent but fit together; Dylan was angry highly depressed and Eric an angry psychopath, with want to be remembered. The anger broght them close, and also lead them to a killing rampage at their school. Dylan was known as the shy and nice kid, with a temper that he occasionaly could not hold back. His parents described him as, "extraordinary shy, but happy," (Cullen 209). just a normal teenage boy, although he never had a girlfriend. Reconstruction By Eric Foner Analysis Within the preface of Eric Foner's A Short History of Reconstruction, Foner details the distinct characteristics of the ever–changing era of Reconstruction, taking place after the Civil War. The always–changing definitions of history have transformed the process of understanding this time period (Foner, xi). Because of this, the Preface, written by Foner in 1990, illustrates the drastically different viewpoints of the schools of thought found during the Reconstruction period. The Preface is divided into four different sections; each section giving the reader a better understanding of the different interpretations. These four sections are: The Dunning School during the 1900's, the Progressive School in the 1920's and 1930's, the Revisionists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Within the new revised Reconstruction, Johnson was no longer the courageous protector of the civil liberties of his people, but rather a racist who failed to react to the predicaments at hand while in Presidency and Radicals were no longer money–hungry capitalists of the North, but rather individuals dedicated to advocacy for African Americans (Foner, xiii). Although using the Civil Rights Movement as the backbone for the Revisionist era proved itself effective, there were still a group of individuals, Post– Revisionists, who continued to view the changes during Reconstruction as a bland and inadequate time in American ... • 17. Critical Analysis Of Eric Schlosser's 'Your Trusted Friends' Oftentimes, writers of argumentative essays will explicitly state their claim, establishing a position on a topic in a clear and concise manner. In doing so, writers' arguments are essentially more effective in representing the chosen subject matter. In "Your Trusted Friends", investigative journalist Eric Schlosser writes that Walt Disney and Ray Kroc perfected the art of selling to children, however, this writing is laced with numerous, hidden, implications. Schlosser's work subconsciously suggests that companies like Disney and McDonald's prey on children in order to gain profit. This, therefore, makes his argument weak overall, since instead of blatantly expressing his opinion, he leaves his audience to guess about the overall purpose of the piece. Throughout the writing, Schlosser provides historical and statistical information about both the businessmen, Disney and Kroc, and their individual companies. In the third paragraph, he writes about the shared experiences between the men, from growing up in the same hometown to serving in in the same World War I ambulance corps (Schlosser 184). He then lists examples of how the men's failures in their humble beginnings eventually led to success. Schlosser writes that the men, for example, focused more on strengthening their marketing strategies and standing in as authority figures instead of wasting time on attempts to add new dishes to the McDonald's menu or trying to write and animate Disney cartoons (Schlosser 184). • 19. How Is Eric Harris Related To Columbine Shooting Why did Eric and Dylan do it? What made the two even consider the columbine massacre? Dylan Klebold was a depressant. He felt as if people in the school had left him out, as if he wasn't important enough for them. Dylan killed because he was in the state of mind that he did not matter to anyone or anything, as if he was useless and he wanted attention for once. He had succeeded at getting his attention. Dylan was hotheaded, but depressive and suicidal. Dylan would have never pulled off the Columbine massacre without Eric. "Eric was not a depressive, like Dylan, that was for sure." Eric was sweet–faced and well spoken, like many other manipulative psychopaths. Adults, and even most kids would describe Harris as "nice." Harris was actually cold, calculating, and homicidal. Harris was not merely a troubled kid, but psychiatrists say, he was a psychopath. Harris has a private journal, it opened with "I hate the f***ing world." • 21. Mass Movement In Eric Kushner's A Bright Room Called Day Nowadays, mass movement is defined as an assimilation process, where people throw away their own personal identities and follow submissively the orders of their leaders. The idea of people being obedient to some of the cruelest orders, such as killing millions of people in the Holocaust, surprises many people. Thus, many authors decide to find out the answer by bringing up many opinions about the creation of the mass movement in their own books or plays for discussion. One of those authors is Eric Hoffer, who suggests that a mass movement is created by the cooperation between "the man of words", "the fanatic", and "the man of actions" (147). In fact, he points out that the three groups have the same craving for something new and different that they believe can only be obtained through a revolution. At the same time, Tony Kushner also offers his own belief on the topic through his play "A Bright Room Called Day" by establishing a setting in Berlin, where people follow their own party in a fight against the development of a Nazi government. Moreover, many characters in the play perform somewhat similar roles to the three groups' duties described by Hoffer. In fact, the characteristics of Baz as an outsider and a man of words, Agnes as a fanatic who joins the party out of boredom, and Zillah as a person of action who refuses to accept the Reagan government will be discussed in this essay to identify the similarities and differences between the viewpoints of two authors about ... In 1999, the time the massacre took place, violence like this rarely happened; let alone at a school. After Columbine there was this sense of fear in communities, families, law enforcement, and in schools, and all people wanted to know was why this did happen (Pittaro, 2007)? How could two kids do this, and how could it be prevented? There are a few explanations and theories that can be applied to this incident that deal with both psychological and sociological issues. The first theory is the social learning theory. This theory deals with how people learn certain behaviors and values through their families, community, peers, and even other media outlets. How this theory applies to Harris and Klebold is that these two were opposites. As stated above, after the shooting psychologist really believed that Harris was a psychopath and mentally unstable, and people knew him of being aggressive, he was often depressed, and had tried to kill himself on multiple occasions. On the other hand Klebold was the complete opposite. For the people who knew him he was nice and friendly, even participated in a few of the schools productions and worked the light board for plays and concerts. For one, Eric, one of the Columbine School shooters, could just about get any girl he wanted based purely off his outward charm and charisma, but as any reader of Columbine would know, Eric was a dark and vengeful person who wanted nothing more than to show the world his power. Another example of Eric's deceit was his relationship with his parents. When these "tantrums" occurred, Dylan was almost a completely different person, and they would frighten most everyone around him. Most of all though, Dylan was a follower not a leader, and Eric Harris gave him someone to follow. (c) The book at times was difficult to read purely on the fact that some of the information seemed a little repetitive at times. Other than that, the book was a good read because of all the detail it went into. I thoroughly enjoy novels that portray the whole picture, and this book did. The Ku Klux Klan as well as other groups killed or tormented black politicians or threatened the blacks who voted in elections. The Klan strongly disagreed with the northern idea that slaves should become part of the government. The Historian Kenneth M. Stampp states, "for their [the North] supreme offense was not corruption but attempting to organize the Negroes for political action" (Stampp. Era. 159). This corresponds with Foner's idea that the South was not open to the idea of change but more so consumed with the idea of recreating a society similar to one of the past. However, the goal of white power groups was not just politics. The Klan wanted to restore the hierarchy once controlling the South. Foner observes that, "the organization took on the function of the antebellum slave patrols: making sure that blacks did not violate the rules and etiquette of white supremacy" (Foner. Forever. 172). Since Eric and Dylan are deceased, the victims must take what they can from what they left behind, and they left in their journals and writings who they were and what they thought. Anger–filled Eric lacked sympathy and empathy, while Dylan was depressed and suicidal. These characteristics show a bit of some reasoning for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 47. Eric 1. How has Altera modified its strategy? Why? Altera learned a hard lesson in inventory management after losing $115 million worth of inventory in the 2000–2001 timeframe. Altera produced its programmable logic devices and stocked them in warehouses waiting for customer demands. Their thought was to provide a cost advantage to their customers by having readily available stocks. Altera also leaned forward to help customers by building new products from specs. This push strategy backfired, and resulted in the $115 million loss. Altera has now modified their strategy towards a push–pull strategy. The push strategy is to produce mainstream products in the form of die banks, which is the largest portion of the manufacturing process. ... How do you anticipate Altera's customers will react to this new strategy? What are some advantages and disadvantages for Altera's customer? I believe Alters customers will react positively to their strategic changes. It should appear to the customers as an obvious solution to establish open communications and seeking more information to help the customer, however there are advantages and disadvantages. Advantages * Altera will have better insight into inventory levels of the customers and be in a better position to advise of possible overstocking. * Implementation of supply change management software will improve production and inventory efficiencies. The cost savings may be passed down to Altera's customers. Disadvantages * Altera's customers may see longer lead times for parts. Parts previously received in days are now going to take weeks and months, pending customer orders. Advance notice and more open communication should mitigate adverse effects on production. * The customer may be reluctant to share inventory and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sometimes this drive can be beneficial, ensuring one's path to success. Everyone's motives are different as they are ultimately produced through one's life experiences and attitudes. The same could be said about Ray Kroc, founder of the McDonald's Corporation. In his book, Fast Food Nation, Eric Schlosser discusses Kroc's journey through McDonald's and explain's Kroc's drive. During the start of the McDonald's company, the McDonald's Brothers had revolutionized the restaurant business through the idea of self–service. "Imagine – No Carhops – No Waitresses – No Dishwashers – No Bus Boys...," they'd say (Schlosser 20). As a result of the new Speedee Service System, McDonald's had never been in better shape. Ray Kroc, amazed by this, expanded the model all across the United States, increasing McDonald's popularity. Apart from that, the creation of institutions like Hamburger University also solidify the service standards each restaurant should maintain. Hamburger University trained thousands of workers yearly, passing along "a common McDonald's language" and "a common McDonald's culture (Schlosser 31)." Through this, Ray Kroc created a single standard in which their service should be executed. This could make up for the lack of employee involvement in the new self–service model. The service prompted many families to stop by frequently, which boosted the idea of selling the brand to kids, perfecting McDonald's marketing tool, and raising overall sales. However, because of arguing egos among the band members and drug use in all of them, they broke up in 1969. Clapton, however, got back together with Baker and with bassist Rich Green and Traffic's Steve Winwood to record one album as Blind Faith, rock's first "supergroup". They released one cd and went on a 24 city tour in America, the stress from which caused the band to break up not even one year after it was formed. Over the span of one century, the world has had significant changes to society, such as advancements in transportation, fashion and technology. However, not all industries have had significant advancements in today 's modern world. For example, the food industry has been lacking in the basic necessities needed to sustain a safe, humane work environment, especially in the meat industry. Excerpts from The Jungle by Upton Sinclair and Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser elaborately explain the horrible environments inside the factory. That any supervisor who loses a worker on the job has to only pay a compensation fee of $480 is impossible to justify. One especially sad anecdote is that of Kenny Dobbins, an uneducated man, who is repeatedly injured on the job, but keeps going back until he is crippled and permanently disabled. This story speaks the truth of how meat packaging corporations take their workers for granted by using them for everything they have, than discarding them like a dirty rag. Corporations like slaughterhouses do not care about employees getting injured because they know a majority of desperate immigrants would gladly have the morally degrading job. Often, animals' feelings and well being have been overlooked because society has instilled the idea that animals have no emotions. The Jungle describes animals as being a worker's project that needs to be completed within a given time limit. After hogs entered Durham's meat facility, they were chained by the ankles and abruptly tossed around the room; the only audible sound was the "high squeals and low squeals, grunts, and wails of agony"(Sinclair). The hogs anticipated in fear of what was to happen next, bred to be slaughtered for the greater good of humankind. Sinclair describes the workers carelessly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Eric Liddell was a Scottish runner and a faithful Christian. On the other hand, Harold Abraham was a British runner and a Jew who struggled to change other people's thought of Jews. Both of these men ran in the 1924 Olympics for different purposes. The movie "Chariots of Fire" showed how Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams differed from one another. Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams were different in their faith, economic status, and their motivations. First, Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams differed in their faith. Eric Liddell was a faithful Christian. As a faithful Christian, Eric Liddell frequently attended church on Sundays. Not only did he attend church, but he also preached in different churches. The movie ("Chariots of Fire", Hugh Hudson) showed a scene where he was preaching and reading a passage from the Bible. On the other hand, Harold Abrahams was of the Jewish faith. For instance, Jews do not eat pork because in the Old Testament the Israelites were commanded to abstain from it. Proof that Harold Abrahams followed this belief was seen in the movie when it showed that his girlfriend Sybil order pork in the restaurant and Harold felt first offended, and then amused by her mistake.
