Charles Boblit Case Summary
Facts: John Brady (petitioner) and Charles Boblit were found guilty of first degree murder and
sentenced to death. Convictions were affirmed by the Court of Appeals in Maryland. Their trials
were processed separately. At Brady s trial, he took stand and maintained that he participated in the
preceding robbery, but not in the killing. At the sentencing, both men received the death penalty.
Brady s counsel conceded that Brady was guilty of murder in the first degree, and asking the juryto
return that verdict without capital punishment. Prior to the trial counsel requested to examine
Boblit s extra judicial statements. Several statements were shown to Petitioner s counsel; but the
one was dated on July 09, 1958, in which Boblit admitted the actual homicide, was... Show more

Petitioner s appeal from a denial of that motion was dismissed by the Court of Appeals without
any prejudice to relief under the Maryland. The petition for post conviction relief was dismissed
by the trial court; and on appeal the Court of appeals held that suppression of the evidence by the
prosecution denied petitioner due process of law and remanded the case for a retrial of the
question of punishment, not the question of guilt. Ruling: The Supreme Court held that
withholding evidence violated the process where the evidence is crucial either to guilt or to
punishment. The court also determined that under Maryland state law the withheld evidence could
not have exculpated the defendant, but was material to the level of punishment he would be
given. Relevance: Police officers who becomes dishonest are sometimes referred to as Brady cops
. Because of the Brandy ruling, prosecutors are required to nifty defendants and their attorneys

Examples Of Chivalry In Beowulf
Some say chivalry is dead , I don t think so. Chivalry is a code of conduct governing a knight s
behavior. It s the combination of qualities expected of an ideal person, especially bravery,
loyalty, and honor. One of the main elements of chivalry is bravery, in the story we read Beowulf
s last Battle, an example of braver was , He could see how his king was suffering ... Wiglaf mind
was made up ; he raised his yellow shield and drew his sword. in the story Wiglaf went back to
help his king fight, that showed bravery. An example of bravery today is people going/volunteer
in the military and army. That shows bravery because, you re sacrificing your life for other and
your country. The second element of chivalry is loyalty, in the story we read called Le Monte d
Arthur, an example of loyalty was My lords, I am reluctant to shed christian blood in a war
against my own liege. He is showing loyalty to his king by not wanting to go to war with him. An
example of Loyalty today is people being loyal to their country, like pledging to the flag, that shows
loyalty to your country.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of honor in the story we read called Mourning Beowulf, was The Geat built the
tower, as beowulf asked ... sealed his ashes in walls. The treasures were left there too..twelve Geats

after death.By keeping something in remembrance of him. Todays example of honor is memorial

Understanding Emily Grierson s Characteristics
At first, when I read this story it was a little difficult to read and understand. Because it jumps
around in terms of chronology so it s not a linear and not easy to follow in terms of its timeline.
However, the narrative structure is very important to understand the character of Emily Grierson
because she remains kind of stuck in time. So this is one of the characteristics or key features of the
characterwill be the fact that she doesn t really understand and allow time to the past. She remains
kind of stuck in an older traditional way of the old South while the rest of society keep moving
forward. Basically, she becomes a sort of representation, almost the symbol of the traditional old
Southern ways. Interesting that the townsmen

The Shichi Go San and the Marimo Matsuri Festivals Essay
Fall is the time for letting go of the old ways and bringing in the new life. Autumn is also the
period where one harvests their desire to learn. Autumn is the time for departure but having
already fulfilled in wisdom and maturity. Fall is also the time to be thankful for all the things that
occurred in your life. In Japan, the fall festivals are a way for the people to pray and be thankful
for the harvests. Some festivals that occur in Japan during this time of the year are: Marimo
Matsuri, Nada no Kenka Matsuri, Sichi Go San, Tori no Ichi, and the Kawagoe Matsuri. To begin

This festival goes on for a couple of days, beginning with a lecture on the algae on the first day. On
the second day, it is a celebration for the Marimo algae and a ceremony where one receives their
own. It is said that when one receives their marimo algae, they are also offering their
appreciation to Mother Nature. Next, the Nada no Kenka Matsuri is a celebration that occurs in
the Hyogo prefecture from October 14th to the 15th. This festival is also referred to as the
Fighting Festival (hence the name Kenka Matsuri). It is also referred to this name because men
carrying the mikoshi (portable shrines) are pushing against other groups of men. The Nada no
Kenka Matsuri usually occurs at the Natsubara Hachiman Shrine in the city of Himeji. During this
occasion, there are no rules about bumping into other shrines, so once another group has their
shrine placed upon another, the contest is over. There are usually three different groups who
participate in this festival based on their age. The group with the white headband consists of
people from ages thirty five and up. The group with yellow headbands contains people from
twenty six to thirty five years of age. The last group, red headbands, has people who are under the

Social Class Differences On The Long Run Essay
Income equality has been on a steady rise since 1970 in both the United States and Europe. Over
the past several years, many researchers, such as Thomas Piketty and Emmanuel Saez have been
conducting and publishing empirical studies which indicate that economic inequality is growing in
wealthy countries, like those in Europe and the United States. In fact, according to a graph
published in Piketty and Saez s study Inequality in the Long Run, both the United States and
Europe s income and wealth inequality generally decreased from 1900 1970, and then started
increasing in the time period after that. The results of this study suggest that social classdifferences
may be growing in the long run. This paper will examine this graph from the perspectives of both
Adam Smith and Karl Marx. Using Marx and Smith s findings in German Ideology and Wealth of
Nations, this paper will discuss Marx and Smith s main theories on capitalismand describe how
these theories can be applied to the interpretation of the graphs in the study Inequality in the Long
Run. This paper will also discuss the similarities and differences between Smith and Marx s
interpretation of the data.
Smith s theory of capitalism, described in his book Wealth of Nations, discusses the ideas of the
division of labor, self interest, and the real value of products. According to Smith, the division of
labor arises from a human s ability to exchange goods. In the Wealth of Nations, Smith discusses
how it is a part of

implication for decisions you will make on spending (Advertising, PR, Branding, Channel Support,

I figured putting money towards efficiency would not only allow me to create more units, but it
would also bring down the amount of wastage as to where increasing SCU would create more
wastage and also make the efficiency upgrades that I would purchase less effective per dollar. This
is likely because with more SCU, comes more equipment and more employees that need to be
trained or upgraded with efficiency updates in order to improve production and productivity.
Therefore, less units equals less distribution of upgrades.
I essentially wanted to be an efficient company that could maintain a steadily increasing Share
Holder Value with as few expenditures as possible, and it seemed to be working for a while. I
also wanted to have a higher number of sales as it seemed the more sales I had, the less customers
the competition had to sell to keeping their sales down a little bit.

Stage Fright
From time to time, people in the world are going to be able to experience two things in there
lifetime. One is there opportunity to have their fifteen minutes of fame; a time in which they are
recognized greatly by people for something they have done. The second is when someone is
pointed out of a crowd, or put on the spot to do something, and that person suddenly develops
there own stage fright. I was one of those people, the type that preferred to be in the background

Homageddon Advertisement Analysis Essay
People have been constantly made aware of the dangers of smoking their whole lives. The warnings
are shown in blaring, edgy commercials, obscenely blunt labels, and methodically indoctrinated
through numerous programs at schools. Despite this, people still choose to smoke and callously
ignore the unending dire warnings that smokingis a leading cause of cancer, numerous other
debilitating health problems, bad personal hygiene and social disgrace. Most people however, are
also very much unaware that smoking can have adverse effects on the animals around them. The
advertisement Catmageddon presented by Truth Orange does a powerful job in persuading young
adults to not smoke though the use of logos, pathos, and ethos.
The purpose of this advertisement is to show young adults the negative effect smoking has on
animals. It is an appeal to young adults through the use of up to date jargon and social norms in
creating current relatable memes and music. To spread the message, Truth Orange focuses mainly
on cats that are famous from their appearances in a wide array of YouTube videos. The
commercials show a cat that plays the piano, another cat gliding around on a Rumba, and cats
chasing laser pointers. The primary target audience is young adults ... Show more content on

This is first seen when the advertisement shows the fact graphic: Cats are twice as likely to get
cancer if their owner smokes. This graphic inserts the relationship into the viewer s mind that if
smoking harms cats, then the people who smoke are harming cats directly. The commercial
continues with the idea reaching its logical conclusion that if people who smoke kill cats, and I
smoke, then I will be killing my own cat. Since the whole purpose of the advertisement is to stop
young adults from smoking, then putting forth the idea that everyone would be angry with that
person for killing the cat/cat videos acts as a form of peer

In 2004, seven eleven positioned itself as a leader not only of the convenience store sector but also
of Japan s retail industry as a whole.
Seven eleven Japan developed an extensive franchise network and performed a key role in the
daily operations of this network. The network included both company owned stores and 3th party
owned stores. To ensure efficiency, Seven eleven based its fundamental network expansion policy
on a market dominance strategy (you must see to what extent a product, brand, or firm controls a
product category in a given geographic area)
How did they achieve the market dominance strategy? Seven eleven Japan opened the majority of
its new stores in areas with existing clusters of stores.
This gave them 6 advantages: 1. Boosted distribution efficiency 2. Improved brand awareness 3.
Increased system efficiency 4. Enhanced efficiency of franchise support services 5. Improved
advertising efficiencies 6. Prevented competitors entrance into the dominant area
They implemented the pull strategy by offering its stores a choice from a set of 5000 stock
keeping units. Depending on the customers demand. This is a way to be responsive to the customer.
Besides products, they also began to offer services that the customer could obtain at its stores. Some
examples are: ticket sales, copiers, atm installation,...

Horror struck on January 30, 1933 when Germany assigned Adolf Hitler as their chancellor. Once
Hitler had finally reached power he set out to complete one goal, create a Greater Germany free
from the Jews ( The reasons for the Holocaust, 2009). This tragedy is known today as, The
Holocaust, that explains the terrors of our histories past. The face of the Holocaust, master of death,
and leader of Germany; Adolf Hitler the most deceitful, powerful, well spoken, and intelligent

This explains why Germans began to feel disgust towards the Jews through Hitler s ability to
manipulate them by using false assumptions as propaganda. Also, that Hitler wanted to kill every
Jew to end their bloodline, so they could no longer have a genetic pool. Although Germany
committed genocide many other countries had strong antisemitism in their country and people were
surprised the mass killings didn t occur in France, England, or Russia first ( A Brief History of
Anti Semitism ). This shows that antisemitism did not originate in Germany and many countries
in Europe struggled to accept Jewish people. Jews were considered superior because of their
high intelligence and their clever business strategies which only further angered Europeans (
Anti Semitism in Germany: Historical Background ). Germany believed they were aware of
their brilliance and felt as though they were too good for modern western culture which created
a barrier between the people. The biggest factor that made people begin to hate the Jews was a
difference in religious beliefs where Jews practiced Judaism and Germans practiced Christianity (
Encyclopedia Judaica ). The holocaust began for many reasons, but religion was a very important
factor that persuaded people that Jews were not welcome. Religion acted as a major conflict
between Germans and Jews which only created a larger separation. This separation has been around

Is It Ethical To Commit Suicide
Is it ethical to commit suicide? If you re having a bad time and you think you will not be able to

point of view? What makes us think that serenity and peace will come and embrace us if we take

Annie Get Your Gun By Ethel Merman And Ray Middleton
Anything you do, I can do better; I can do anything, better than you , in Annie Get Your Gun
performed by Ethel Merman and Ray Middleton, is one of many examples that are still battled
today on the topic of gender roles playing essentially to modern society. Historically, the
relationship between female and male has almost always been unequal and oppressive; but, a
feminist critic would aim to critique the nature of genderroles. In a feminist theory, it mainly focuses
women s role as well as their social standing in a society. In today s society, women empower
society to promote matriarchy whereas a female becomes the head of the family. Since the
nineteenth century up until today in the twenty first century, society has made assumptions about
female based on their gender. For instance, people often assume that men are strong and women are
weak and that women cannot control their emotions, and that men are better at hunting, and that
women belong in the kitchen. Oftentimes, books and movies can confirm such stereotypes of
males as action heroes and women as housewives; however, through the characters of Katniss and
Peeta in The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins tries to show her readers that these assumptions are
false.
Moreover, Katniss is an individual who breaks away from the typical gender stereotypes that one
would assume while reading. In fact, showing her feminine side to readers, Katniss is simply a
nurturer because of how she takes care of others like Rue and Peeta

Antibiotic Associated Diarrhea
Background: Antibiotic associated diarrhea and its associated effects are becoming an increasing
problem as the use of antibiotics increases. Diarrhea can cause side effects that are not only
uncomfortable, but also can be life threatening, especially as age increases. Probiotics have shown
to help maintain the normal gut flora that is affected by antibiotics and can lessen the effects of
diarrhea. This evidence based practice project explored the effectiveness of probiotics in treating
antibiotic associated diarrhea in adults. PICO question: In adult patients on antibiotics (P) how

the incidence of antibiotic associated diarrhea (O)?... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As patients age they are at increased risk for complications of AAD due to more co morbidities
and increase in disruption in the gut flora leading to increasing susceptibility to antibiotic side
effects and complications such as CDI. The intention of probiotics is to restore or maintain the
balance of normal gut flora and reduce the incidence of AAD and CDI. Studies involving taking
probiotics in conjunction with antibiotics and their effectiveness are on the rise (Xie, et al.,
2015). Probiotics are becoming more readily available in various doses and forms. Further
research is needed to test effectiveness of varying dose forms and their response to different age
groups; especially adults and the elderly. Specifically, research is needed to test their effectiveness
on treating various gastro intestinal illnesses such as AAD (Chatterjee, et al., 2013). Nurses can
help with controlling the incidence and effects of AAD by educating themselves in the role
probiotics play in reducing incidence and duration of AAD. Nurses can encourage and educate
practitioners of the benefits of probiotics. They need to take into account the patient s preference
and their clinical experience with probiotic use. The purpose of this investigation was to address
the PICO question, In adult patients on antibiotics (P) how does probiotic/lactobacillus use (I) as

Helen Frankenthaler Research Paper

Helen Frankenthaler is an American, abstract expressionist painter who became active in the New
York School of the 1950s. She developed stain painting and was the key transitional figure
between abstract expressionism and color field painting (Gorman). An example of stain painting is
demonstrated in The Bay that was created in 1963. The artwork is acrylic on canvas and measures

Whale Rider Stereotypes
Good Morning Ms. Sheehan and classmates.
Today I will be presenting my analysis of Whale Rider. The theme I have chosen to analyse is how
Pai repeatedly demonstrates that individual strengths are more important than gender stereotypes
and in this way challenges the traditional MДЃori culture, that demands that males should be the
leaders.
This theme is illustrated throughout the movie in a number of ways, in particular: Pai is smarter
than the men, she demonstrates superior leadership qualities and she that she never dresses as a
stereotypical woman.
The first example that I will be discussing is that Pai is displayed as quite intelligent. I believe that
this is an important theme as typically, Men are portrayed smarter than women. The first scene that
illustrates Pai s intelligence is when Koro is trying to fix his boat but the rope snaps. Pai, using her
intelligence cleverly knots the rope together, so the engine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The second scene that shows Pai s intelligence is when she notices that Koro is teaching the boys
how to fight using the maori fighting art of taiaha, she cleverly persuaded her Uncle Rawiri to train
her whereas others would have simply given up.
These are both great examples of how Pai s individual strength is much more important than gender
stereotypes.
The second example that I will be examining is that Pai has better leadership qualities than the boys.
This is a very important argument as stereotypically; Women are subordinate to the men.
The first scene that portrays Pai s leadership qualities is when she finds Hemi crying about his
father abandoning him. Angered by Pai s questioning he proceeds to fight her with a traditional
MДЃori weapon called Taiaha, which Koro had been teaching the boys in preparation of becoming
the Chief.
Fortunately, Pai is not troubled by him and quickly beats him thanks to being trained by her uncle,
who was once a champion Taiaha

Osmosis Egg Lab
Question:
What effect do different concentrations of a sugar solution have on the egg and its weight?
Background Research: Osmosis is the passive transport of water across a selectively permeable
membrane from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. Other than the
concentration gradient, a factor that affects osmosis is temperature. The higher the temperature,
the faster osmosis takes place. Osmosis doesn t require energy for it to take place. However,
osmosis does have a requirement of a membrane for it to take place. In the case of an egg, the
membrane would be the shell of the egg that is almost completely made of calcium carbonate. If a
solution has more solute, then it is hypertonic. If a solution has more solvent, ... Show more content

I learned that movement in osmosis goes from a hypotonic solution to a hypertonic solution.
Therefore, if the egg absorbed water and increased its mass, it would be hypertonic and the
solution would be hypotonic. If the egg lost water and decreased its mass, it would be hypotonic
and the solution would be hypertonic. An example of how it relates to our everyday life is how
osmosis occurs when boiling spaghetti. When spaghetti is placed in a pot of boiling water, it
absorbs water to take the form of many loose spaghetti strands. This happens due to osmosis
because the boiling water doesn t have any solute compared to the spaghetti. That means the
spaghetti is a hypertonic solution, while the boiling water is a hypotonic solution because the
water was absorbed from the pot (hypotonic) to the spaghetti (hypertonic). If I were to do an
experiment that is related to this one, I would like to learn more about the other factors that affect

and mind. Remember that time remains the utmost precious commodity in all existence. All of my
past experiences have been able to teach myself lessons. Lessons that I will share with you.
Subsequently proceed into further detail regarding how I might be able to contribute to the Towson

Lessons
1. At times you need make your own good in the world.
There will always be some sort of positivity in your life, it can always be worse. I remain

The ability to teach myself about the obstacles I will face. I will bring hope to others when sharing
my story. With this lesson I bring my story to the Towson University campus community.
5. When you worry about tomorrow, you will ruin today.
The moments that we share right in this moment will never happen again. You should appreciate
every moment that you have. Every second that something happens. The majority of the fixations
you worry about don t even happen. I ve learned it s necessary to have 20 seconds of insane
fearlessness to perform something that you aspire to, although would be afraid. With this lesson I
bring to your school appreciation.
I was recently told a story of The Dead Starfish Beach by a man who uttered to me I want to
change the world . I looked at him and thought how can one man that wants to tell me a random
story concerning a beach simply transform the world. But then I heard the beautiful story of The
Dead Starfish Beach. Thus to allow you to fully understand and relate to why this story had such
an impact on my heart, I will be obliged to simply tell you the story.
So there was a man who decided that he wanted to visit The Dead Starfish Beach to walk and
clear his mind. This man lived as a dreadfully narrow minded person that accepts occurrences
simply for what they are. As this man is walking down the shore of Dead Starfish Beach he spots an
awfully young little girl throwing the dead starfish that lies

Tutankhamun Heqaiunushema
He was called Tutankhamun (meaning Living image of the Aten ). He then changed his name to
Tutankhamun Heqaiunushema ( Living Image of Amun, ruler of Heliopolis of Upper Egypt ). His
name was written as Amen tut ankh because of the tradition of honorific transposition (where the
name of a god is written first out of respect). His name had occurred shortly before he abandoned
Akhenaten and returned to Thebes, reinstating the old gods. His position of authority name (or
prenomen) was Nebkheperure, signifying Master of appearances is Ra , and it is imagined that he

majority of the tombs of pharaohs have been plundered, so when King Tutankhamun s completely

unforeseen demise, yet loaded with a large number of fortunes. The tomb incorporated his in place

Membrane Potential Lab Report
Membrane potential, Transmembranes potential its measurement by microelectrodes 1.
Introduction Background 2. Physiology of Membrane Potential 2.1 Understanding Membrane
Potential 2.2 How to Calculate Membrane Potential 3. Transmembrane Potential 3.1 Measurement
of Transmembrane Potential by Microelectrodes Summary In all cell types, there is an electrical
potential difference exits between the inside and outside of the cell resulting from the differential
concentrations of sodium and potassium on either side of the membrane. This is termed the
membrane potential of the cell. While this phenomenon is present in all cells, it is especially
important in muscles and nerve cells, because changes in their membrane potentials are used to
code and transmit information or signals. More specifically, the action potentials are electrical
signals; these signals carry efferent messages to the central nervous system for processing and
afferent messages away from the brain to elicit a specific... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Na+/K+ ATPase pump continuously three sodium ions to the outside for each two potassium ions
pumped to the inside of the membrane. The fact that more sodium ions are being pumped to the
outside than potassium to the inside causes continual loss of positive charges from inside the
membrane; this creates an additional degree of negativity on the inside beyond that which can be
accounted for by diffusion alone. Therefore, the net membrane potential with all these factors
operating at the same time is about в€’90 millivolts. In summary, the diffusion potentials alone
caused by potassium and sodium diffusion would give a membrane potential of about в€’86
millivolts, almost all of this being determined by potassium diffusion. Then, an additional в€’4
millivolts contribute to the membrane potential by the continuously acting electrogenic Na + /K +
ATPase, giving a net membrane potential of в€’90

Abortion Statistics
In the first article I have chosen to use in my paper entitled Abortion in the United States:
A Statistical Study, there are many facts and different data and statistics that help confirm my
hypothesis that unmarried women are more likely to seek abortions than married women. The
article includes informative sections such as Characteristics of Women Seeking Abortions. This
particular section stated that women in the twenty to twenty four year old age group obtained
the greatest proportion of abortions in 2003 one third (33.7%) of the total. (Abortion in the

One piece of data
that I found in this article states that 91.9% of 2010 abortions were preformed at or less than the
13th week of gestation. Of those 71.7% were performed at or less than the eighth week. 17.7% of
all 2010 abortions were medical abortions. (Abortion Fast Facts. (2014, May 27). CNN Wire)
This clearly shows that most women who decide to have abortions make that decision rather
quickly. This is usually due to an unfit situation for a child, often times due to unmarried women
who are receiving the abortion. Just this piece of data alone helps to support the hypothesis that
unmarried women are more likely to seek abortions than married women.
The third article I chose to use in my paper on the topic of abortion is entitled Abortion

entire world. There is a lot of information about legal and illegal abortions in this article. I also

Rhetorical Analysis Of The Longest War By Rebecca Solnit
For my rhetorical analysis, I read Rebecca Solnit s essay The Longest War, which shed a light on
the unequal treatment of men and women and the violence that women face throughout their lives,
and around the world.
In analyzing this essay, I looked at the context and the substance of Solnit s essay. In terms of
context, I looked primarily at her use of examples, and where these examples come from. First off,
Solnit conveyed messages of gender inequality and violence from around the globe, rather than just
throughout the United States. Additionally, she creates ties between the Civil Rights Movement
and the women s rights movement that is currently happening to emphasize the importance of the
events to the readers. This strategy is also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I realized that the abundance of examples and statistics that she used were a big part of this,
because they provide facts that are hard to contest. I used this as the basis for forming my thesis.
After this, I went through the essay again and found locations that tied in well to this main idea.
This was my method for developing support. I looked at the essay and the context of it and tried
to tie in what Solnit was saying with how I felt about the essay itself. I took this information
altogether and saw how Solnit was proving her points and fulfilling her purpose.
My strengths in this essay, I believe, are in not just analyzing the information that Solnit provides,
but in also analyzing the effect that this information has on the readers. My final body paragraph
details both the logical and the emotional responses that Solnit brings up in her audience.
Additionally, I feel that I was successful in tying all of the analysis that I supply back to Solnit s
purpose in writing the essay. It is easy to look at the context and the substance of an essay, but to
relate it all back to the author s goal in writing it is what shows that you have a fuller understanding
of the work.
In writing this essay, I started out by trying to analyze far too much of what Solnit had written.
Along with the substance and the context of the essay, I wanted to get deeper into her organization
and other smaller details of her writing. In The Longest War, Solnit

Quality, Process, And Location Analysis Essay
Quality, Process, and Location Analysis
Without success there is no business. The goal for any organization is be successful. In order to be
a successful business, it is essential to explore the use of process management functions within the
operations management (OM) processes. Nissan, like most companies, has had their high and low
moments. Fortunately, they have been able to explore the use of process management functions to
help reach their goals and keep their business successful. Nissan has used the five steps associated
with Theory of Constraints (TOC ) and Total Quality Management (TQM) tools to help improve
quality overall within the business. Nissan has also been able to analyze data through cause and
effect diagrams, time function maps, and weighted averages to incorporate OM functions such as
new products and future expansions.
Theory of Constraints (TOC) is a group of data that deals with something that may limit or
constrain a business s ability to achieve their goals (Linton, 2016). TOC is the idea that the
weakest link will be the strongest you can be and when you improve the weakest link you will
improve the process overall. The key to improving the constraint or the weakest link is to be able to
recognize and manage those limitations with the five steps of TOC (Linton, 2016). The first step of
TOC is to identify the constraints. Nissan would need to identify its constraint, which is the
bottleneck in their production line. Step two

Gumption By Russell Baker Essay
Mind Numbing ClichГ©s Success is a determinant of the amount of work put in to achieve it.
People assume the only jobs that expel an odor of success are doctors, lawyers, and businessmen.
This clichГ© is challenged in the essay, Gumption written by Russell Baker. Baker expresses his
struggle with staying true to his idle personality, while still pleasing his mother s aspirations of
raising a resourceful businessman. Baker s essay outlines the idea that clichГ©d lives may
complement success, but clichГ©s do not always complement happiness. Baker begins his essay by
explicating his mother s unfailing determination to extricate inactivity from his lethargic
personality. You ve got no more gumption than a bump on a log (Baker 1). This comparison made
by Baker s mother vividly exhibits her non complacent attitude towards Baker s inactivity. His
mother s discontent with his character was further tarnished by the fact that his sister allotted a
personality that overflowed with gumption. Doris could have made... Show more content on

WhatВґs Supramolecular Chemistry Essay
Supramolecular chemistry actually represents a fairly simple concept. In contrast to molecular
chemistry, which is predominantly based on the covalent bonding of the atoms, supramolecular
chemistry is based up on intermolecular interactions, i.e on the association of two or more building
blocks, which are held together by intermolecular forces . When molecules get larger, they have the
ability to stick together and that allows the formation of larger assemblies of molecules that are not
bonded to one another but stick together and organize themselves, just like the pieces of the puzzle.
Supramolecular chemistryis the domain of chemistrythat deals with the forces that will allow them
to stick together, which may include hydrogen bonding,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If one understands clearly the rules of folding, then it is certainly possible to correct the misfolding

1.2Host Guest Chemistry:
In supramolecular chemistry, host guest chemistry is one of the intresting very active field in the
last three decades. This describes complexes which were composed molecules or ions that are held
together by forces other than those of full covalent bonds. Host guest chemistry borders the
inception of molecular recognition and interactions through noncovalent bonding.Hydrogen bonds,
ionic bonds, van der Waals forces, and hydrophobic interactions are the four regularly used types of
noncovalent bondings. Host guest dynamics plays a crucial role in understanding the reaction
chemistry of guest molecules encapsulated within self assembled hosts. These molecule systems
have been used as model systems to study the fundamental principles that govern the complexation
of a guest molecule to its host.Host guest chemistry has a wide range of practical applications
which are very popular in basic laboratory research, and in pharmaceutical and food industries.
Biologically it helps us to understand the binding or association between molecules which indeed
plays a fundamental role in molecular and cellular functions. Understanding the rudimental
mechanisms that govern the binding process between molecules is

Donald Trump s Building A Wall Across The Entire Border...
While there may be some truth to parts of Donald Trump s claims, such as the costs that have
been incurred, but his overall plan is quite radical. The idea of building a wall across the entire
southeastern border is extremely radical in itself. Trump compares the simplicity of such a wall
to the 95 story skyscrapers he has built. Ali F. Rhuzkan has tackled the topic of the reality of a
President Trump building a wall across the entire Mexican American border in his article on the
National Memo. Rhuzkan claims that the main problems with Trump s proposed wall are not
technical problems, but logistical ones. Rhuzkan points out that Trump s border wall, if built as
he has described it, would be one of the largest civil works projects in the history of the country
and would face an array of challenges not found when constructing 95 story skyscrapers
(Rhuzkan). Rhuzkan also points out what Trump s wall would need in order to be functionally
effective and also cost effective. A successful border wall must be effective, cheap, and easily
maintained. It should be built from readily available materials and should take advantage of the
capabilities of the existing labor force. The wall should reach about five feet underground to deter
tunneling, and should terminate about 20 feet above grade to deter climbing (Rhuzkan). Unlike
Donald Trumps wall, Ted Cruz s idea for technologically supported fencing would be far more cost
effective, easier to assemble, and could also be

The Power Of Fear In Dante s Inferno
The power of fear is has very little limits, (Shorto). The great writer, Dante, was aware of this
singular fact, and used it to fuel his famous text The Inferno. As Dante constructs his masterpiece
his creative mind is let loose on a rampage of pain. He forges a variety of punishments for the
souls damned to Hell. Each consequence follows a sin made by the common people, and as these
common people read about what could become of them they experience fear. In The Infernowritten
by Dante, the text contains several vivid punishments that strike fear in the hearts of its readers,
and motivates them against sin. The second Canto contains one of the first cruel punishments that
advises against giving into the desires of the heart, and it encourages readers not to sin in such a
way. Dante and Virgil stumble upon a scene where sinners who abandoned themselves to their
temptations, (Canto 2, line 53), swirl around in the tempest of Hell. Dante soon spots the well
known Paolo and Francesca and calls to them wishing to hear their story. The two tell a story of
abandoning reason to fulfil their appetites, and how they must not spend eternity in the grasp of
the other as punishment. Upon hearing this tale, Dante is stricken with compassion and weeps for
them. Any reader of this section may also feel pity for the couple, but it is also a feeling of fear
that begins to take hold. A fear of committing the same sin and Paolo and Francesca and receiving
their punishment creeps into

significant as Tolkien s works are one of very few literary ventures that has been successful at
applying a realness to the fictional imaginative eloquently enough to appeal and resonate so
deeply within popular culture, similar only to that of J.K. Rowling s Harry Potter and George

Tolkien s literary works have been shaped by a genuine interest in creating a realistic fictional
phenomena. According to Tolkien s biography, by a young age he had mastered the Latin and
Greek which was the staple fare of an arts education at that time, and was becoming more than
competent in a number of other languages, both modern and ancient, notably Gothic, and later
Finnish, and began creating languages purely for fun (David Doughan MBE). It seems that
Tolkien s early interest stemmed from watching coal trucks going to and from South Wales
bearing destinations like Nantyglo , Penrhiwceiber and Senghenydd from his home in King s
Heath (David Doughan MBE). In fact, it was Tolkien s early interest in linguistics which caused
him to embark on the challenge of creating a world for his artificial languages, making them the
most prevalent aspects of his works. Tolkien, whom studied linguistics before eventually
becoming an author, wrote in one of his letters, now known as letter 205, that The invention of
languages is the foundation. The stories were made rather to provide a world for the languages
than the reverse. [. . .] It is to me, anyway, largely an essay in linguistic aesthetic , as I sometimes
say to people who ask me what is it all about (Carpenter 219 220). During his later life, Tolkien
continued his work with linguistics by becoming a professor of Anglo Saxon and English literature

Lyndon B. Johnson s Foreign Highlights
Lyndon B. Johnson became president in 1963, a time period in which the United States was
engaged in two battles on both the domestic and the international fronts. At home the President was
faced with growing Civil Rights issues and abroad he faced some of the greatest challenges of his
political career. Internationally the United States was already undergoing a Cold war with the Soviet
Union and the newly adopted policy of containment had become the answer to all of the rising
Communist movements all over the world. In Vietnam a massive Civil War was underway as the

which was led by Ho Chi Minh, was backed by the Soviet Union, China and other communist allies

of South Vietnamese Soldiers and US Soldiers. Amidst these conflicts Johnson rose and took
initiatives that would define American Policy in Vietnam for the rest of his presidency. The Gulf of

For Dr. Kinki earlier diagnosis is good, for Janson s children means medication. On the other
hand, Sussy explained how certain extreme behaviour led her to get an earlier diagnosis on her
children; triggers like seeing her children being on edge for 3 hours and then, they kick the
window and break it out of rage, made her realize that her sons needed to see a psychiatrist.
Stephen goes through their medication and a big concern arises in him. Is this the best way of
helping these children? Stephen sympathizes with the kid s rages states and the shame that comes
after those states. The big difference between Stephen and those children is that he never knew he
had an illness. Stephen considers that if medication prevents the children of wrecking their lives
and his mother, then, is good. As Stephen s journey goes on, he now starts wondering about how
his illness has been helping to build his success. Would it be any different if he hasn t this illness?
Stephen remembers this amazing energy and creativity, but also, recalled hearing voices; actually
his own voice telling him how unworthy he is, and his anxiety dreams where he strips his clothes
on stage or pee himself. Also, Stephen brings to mind his feelings when he is hosting a show, and
how from outside, he seems cheerful and funny, but inside he is tearing the wall of

Hillary Trump Research Paper Topics
On June 14th of 1946 Donald John Trump was born in, Queens, New York. Donald J. Trump
was the 4th of 5 children of Frederick C. and Mary MacLeod Trump. At age 13 Donald Trump
was sent off to the New York Military Academy courtesy of his parents. Frederick and Mary hoped
this would take his abundance of energy and make it more of a positive and mannerly energy.
Trump succeeded at the academy and became a star athlete and student leader. Trump graduated
from the academy in 1964. He then continued his educational career by entering Fordham
University. Two years after starting school at Fordham Trump transferred to the Wharton School of
Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. Trump graduated with a degree in economics in 1968.

According to Pew Research, among others, there is great hatred towards Americans by large
segments of the Muslim population. , says Donald Trump. I would have to agree with Trump s
quote on stopping Muslims from coming into our country because if we stop the Muslims from
entering the country we should be able to control some of the terrorist threats and attacks that
have occurred. Another quote of Trump s that I agree with is, In the Middle East, we have
people chopping the heads off Christians, we have people chopping the heads off many other
people. We have things that we have never seen before as a group, we have never seen before,
what s happening right now. The medieval times I mean, we studied medieval times not since
medieval times have people seen what s going on. I would bring back waterboarding and I d
bring back a hell of a lot worse than waterboarding. , stated Trump in a Republican Presidential
debate. The reason I agree with Trump on this topic is because if they want information from us
and just keep capturing our people and killing them than we should be able to send in some of our
armed forces and capture some of the Middle Easterners doing same and try to get information
from them, and if they don t want to talk to us torture is a good option because you can get the
information without killing

The ozone should always stay in tact to protects the earth from UV radiation, which is harmful to
humans (skin cancer) and also the earth (global warming). If allowed to build up indoors, VOCs
often contribute to lightheadedness, headaches, allergies and more importantly has also
scientifically proven harmful to asthma sufferers. As a matter of fact, according to Professor Roy
Harrison, professor of environmental health at Birmingham University, there is a body of research
on VOCs in the indoor environment which links them with those kinds of symptoms headaches and
not feeling so good (news.bbc.co.uk). After proven to have negative effects on the ozone layeras
well as humans, the production of CFCs was shut down and in fact it s banned in the US. Some
scientists were not convinced by the act of banning CFCs in spite of all these evidences. Given
the large economic impact of a ban it was estimated that industries relying on CFC production
generated $8 billion in business and employed 200,000 people in 1974 several scientists in the
field advocated waiting a few years for science to make more progress on the issue before making
any policy decisions. (bio.sunyorange.edu)

Environmental Issues Of Environmental Justice
Environmental justice is a term coined in the United States that usually deals with two different
things. One is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color,
national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of
environmental laws, regulations, and policies. The other is a mixed body of social science
literature pertaining to anything from environmental laws to political ecology. Primarily based
around the concept of injustices carried out by energy companies, environmental injustice is still a
rampant problem in todays wide variety of social justiceissues. While the prior two meanings
mentioned are the main ones, some other definitions include equitable... Show more content on

These are seen as environmental discrimination because the companies are placing possibly toxic
facilities in these specific areas where the residents do not often have the means to fight back
against them.
Due to the results of that study, waste dumps and waste incinerators have been the target of
environmental justice lawsuits and protests. Several of the most popular Environmental Justice
lawsuits are based off of violations of civil rights laws. The first instance to use civil rights as a
way to challenge the placement of a waste management facility was in 1979.
The Northeast Community Action Group, or NECAG, was created by African American residents
in a middle class neighborhood in order to keep a landfill out of their home town. This group is
recognized as the first organization that found the connection between race and pollution. The
group, alongside their attorney Linda McKeever Bullard started the lawsuit Bean v. Southwestern
Waste Management, Inc., which was the first of its kind to challenge the sitting of a waste facility
under civil rights law. The Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, which was used
many times to defend minority rights during the 1960s, has also been used in numerous
Environmental Justice cases.
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is sometimes used in lawsuits that are fighting
environmental inequality. Section 601 prohibits

The Reformation Of The Church
The reformation of the Church during the 16th century was one of the most religious, political, and
cultural disturbance that occurred in Europe. The structures and the beliefs of the people of the
Catholic Church would be questioned and redefined in many ways. During this era of time, men
such as Desiderius Erasmus and Martin Luther, would have a significant impact on the plans that
occurred. Erasmus was a reformer who believed in free will and that man could be saved by
grace and good works. Luther, a revolutionists, believed that one can only be saved by grace
alone. Hans Behem, a man who believed in social equality not only in the spiritual world, but
also in the outside world was a revolutionist. He was a peasant who had a say in the ways of the
church and worked to reveal to the people that there should be a no social hierarchy in society.
These three men were outspoken and determined to have their thoughts not only revealed to the
world, but also to be followed. They each had different views, beliefs and ways to express their
efforts of change, but similarly worked hard to reveal their thoughts to the world. Desiderius
Erasmus is known as being the foremost humanist in Europe during the 16th century. As a child he
received an excellent education and when he had gone to one of the best Latin schools in the
Netherlands, he learned Greek and also about the importance of having a personal relationship with
God. When he was older, he wanted restoration of Christianity

Positive Outcomes Via Health Screening
Positive Outcomes via Health Screening With cost effectiveness and money saving seemingly
being a keystone of health care in the United States, low cost preventative health care and
screening programs are at the forefront of budgetary meetings in government agencies and
boardrooms across the nation. According to a 2010 study of the cost effectiveness of preventive
care, there is a possibility of savings of $3.7 Billion if current programs could increase use to
around 90 %(Maciosek, et. al., 2010). While cost will always be a consideration, there obviously
is the human element that must be addressed at the ground level. Inspiring people to use
government or state funded programs is no easy task as the people who are not using them are
the ones who need the programs the most(Dryden, et. al. 2012). Below is an exploration of some
successful and unsuccessful programs, and some ideas on improving use of these programs by
the people who need them the most. Women s Preventive Health The Every Woman Matters
program(EWM), is one of many government funded programs aimed at providing preventive
maintenance and screening to populations considered more at risk and less likely to seek
care(Backer, et. al. 2005). EWM provided women with a clinical breast exam, mammography, and
paponicolaou smear test at reduced or no cost , it also provided the providers with assistance and
incentives for participation(Backer, et. al. 2005). In the United, poor, uneducated males are the least

Dollar General Case
Be that as it may, developing an ideal healthcare system will call for requisite transformational
changes in authenticating the ideological construct of both the primary care and primary medical.
In view of the previous studies and comments posted by profound scholars in the nursing
mainstream, primary care and primary medical has been in the forefront in championing for
transformational changes towards ensuring capacity building and boosting the lifestyle of the
humanity. In a strong sense, establishing an extensive healthcare system would ensure that there is
an excellent relationship between the medics and the patients. This perception would ensure that
the two parties in question develops a connection through a system of shared values and common
objectives.
Hence, restructuring the primary care and primary medical would enhance quality of the services
offered in the healthcare sector and also boost the reward performance for most health care
professionals. Based on the country s health care system, establishing an exclusive transformational
change would guarantee the social notion of affordability and also sensitize the essentiality of a
shared system of responsibility in the nursing mainstream. However, the paper presents a
comprehensive concept of primary care and primary medical in ensuring an extensive
transformational change ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Convictions were affirmed by the Court of Appeals in Maryland. Their trials were processed separately. At Brady s trial, he took stand and maintained that he participated in the preceding robbery, but not in the killing. At the sentencing, both men received the death penalty. Brady s counsel conceded that Brady was guilty of murder in the first degree, and asking the juryto return that verdict without capital punishment. • 4. Examples Of Chivalry In Beowulf Some say chivalry is dead , I don t think so. Chivalry is a code of conduct governing a knight s behavior. It s the combination of qualities expected of an ideal person, especially bravery, loyalty, and honor. One of the main elements of chivalry is bravery, in the story we read Beowulf s last Battle, an example of braver was , He could see how his king was suffering ... An example of bravery today is people going/volunteer in the military and army. That shows bravery because, you re sacrificing your life for other and your country. The second element of chivalry is loyalty, in the story we read called Le Monte d Arthur, an example of loyalty was My lords, I am reluctant to shed christian blood in a war against my own liege. • 5. Understanding Emily Grierson s Characteristics At first, when I read this story it was a little difficult to read and understand. Because it jumps around in terms of chronology so it s not a linear and not easy to follow in terms of its timeline. However, the narrative structure is very important to understand the character of Emily Grierson because she remains kind of stuck in time. So this is one of the characteristics or key features of the characterwill be the fact that she doesn t really understand and allow time to the past. She remains kind of stuck in an older traditional way of the old South while the rest of society keep moving forward. Basically, she becomes a sort of representation, almost the symbol of the traditional old Southern ways. Interesting that the townsmen ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Social Class Differences On The Long Run Essay Income equality has been on a steady rise since 1970 in both the United States and Europe. Over the past several years, many researchers, such as Thomas Piketty and Emmanuel Saez have been conducting and publishing empirical studies which indicate that economic inequality is growing in wealthy countries, like those in Europe and the United States. In fact, according to a graph published in Piketty and Saez s study Inequality in the Long Run, both the United States and Europe s income and wealth inequality generally decreased from 1900 1970, and then started increasing in the time period after that. The results of this study suggest that social classdifferences may be growing in the long run. This paper will examine this graph from the perspectives of both Adam Smith and Karl Marx. Using Marx and Smith s findings in German Ideology and Wealth of Nations, this paper will discuss Marx and Smith s main theories on capitalismand describe how these theories can be applied to the interpretation of the graphs in the study Inequality in the Long Run. This paper will also discuss the similarities and differences between Smith and Marx s interpretation of the data. Smith s theory of capitalism, described in his book Wealth of Nations, discusses the ideas of the division of labor, self interest, and the real value of products. Annie Get Your Gun By Ethel Merman And Ray Middleton Anything you do, I can do better; I can do anything, better than you , in Annie Get Your Gun performed by Ethel Merman and Ray Middleton, is one of many examples that are still battled today on the topic of gender roles playing essentially to modern society. Historically, the relationship between female and male has almost always been unequal and oppressive; but, a feminist critic would aim to critique the nature of genderroles. In a feminist theory, it mainly focuses women s role as well as their social standing in a society. In today s society, women empower society to promote matriarchy whereas a female becomes the head of the family. Since the nineteenth century up until today in the twenty first century, society has made assumptions about female based on their gender. For instance, people often assume that men are strong and women are weak and that women cannot control their emotions, and that men are better at hunting, and that women belong in the kitchen. Oftentimes, books and movies can confirm such stereotypes of males as action heroes and women as housewives; however, through the characters of Katniss and Peeta in The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins tries to show her readers that these assumptions are false. Moreover, Katniss is an individual who breaks away from the typical gender stereotypes that one would assume while reading. The theme I have chosen to analyse is how Pai repeatedly demonstrates that individual strengths are more important than gender stereotypes and in this way challenges the traditional MДЃori culture, that demands that males should be the leaders. This theme is illustrated throughout the movie in a number of ways, in particular: Pai is smarter than the men, she demonstrates superior leadership qualities and she that she never dresses as a stereotypical woman. The first example that I will be discussing is that Pai is displayed as quite intelligent. I believe that this is an important theme as typically, Men are portrayed smarter than women. The first scene that illustrates Pai s intelligence is when Koro is trying to fix his boat but the rope snaps. Pai, using her intelligence cleverly knots the rope together, so the engine ... The second example that I will be examining is that Pai has better leadership qualities than the boys. This is a very important argument as stereotypically; Women are subordinate to the men. The first scene that portrays Pai s leadership qualities is when she finds Hemi crying about his father abandoning him. Angered by Pai s questioning he proceeds to fight her with a traditional MДЃori weapon called Taiaha, which Koro had been teaching the boys in preparation of becoming the Chief. If the egg lost water and decreased its mass, it would be hypotonic and the solution would be hypertonic. An example of how it relates to our everyday life is how osmosis occurs when boiling spaghetti. When spaghetti is placed in a pot of boiling water, it absorbs water to take the form of many loose spaghetti strands. This happens due to osmosis because the boiling water doesn t have any solute compared to the spaghetti. That means the spaghetti is a hypertonic solution, while the boiling water is a hypotonic solution because the water was absorbed from the pot (hypotonic) to the spaghetti (hypertonic). If I were to do an experiment that is related to this one, I would like to learn more about the other factors that affect ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Physiology of Membrane Potential 2.1 Understanding Membrane Potential 2.2 How to Calculate Membrane Potential 3. Transmembrane Potential 3.1 Measurement of Transmembrane Potential by Microelectrodes Summary In all cell types, there is an electrical potential difference exits between the inside and outside of the cell resulting from the differential concentrations of sodium and potassium on either side of the membrane. This is termed the membrane potential of the cell. While this phenomenon is present in all cells, it is especially important in muscles and nerve cells, because changes in their membrane potentials are used to code and transmit information or signals. More specifically, the action potentials are electrical signals; these signals carry efferent messages to the central nervous system for processing and afferent messages away from the brain to elicit a specific... Therefore, the net membrane potential with all these factors operating at the same time is about в€’90 millivolts. In summary, the diffusion potentials alone caused by potassium and sodium diffusion would give a membrane potential of about в€’86 millivolts, almost all of this being determined by potassium diffusion. First off, Solnit conveyed messages of gender inequality and violence from around the globe, rather than just throughout the United States. Baker expresses his struggle with staying true to his idle personality, while still pleasing his mother s aspirations of raising a resourceful businessman. Baker s essay outlines the idea that clichГ©d lives may complement success, but clichГ©s do not always complement happiness. Baker begins his essay by explicating his mother s unfailing determination to extricate inactivity from his lethargic personality. You ve got no more gumption than a bump on a log (Baker 1). When molecules get larger, they have the ability to stick together and that allows the formation of larger assemblies of molecules that are not bonded to one another but stick together and organize themselves, just like the pieces of the puzzle. Rhuzkan claims that the main problems with Trump s proposed wall are not technical problems, but logistical ones. It should be built from readily available materials and should take advantage of the capabilities of the existing labor force. The great writer, Dante, was aware of this singular fact, and used it to fuel his famous text The Inferno. As Dante constructs his masterpiece his creative mind is let loose on a rampage of pain. He forges a variety of punishments for the souls damned to Hell. Each consequence follows a sin made by the common people, and as these common people read about what could become of them they experience fear. In The Infernowritten by Dante, the text contains several vivid punishments that strike fear in the hearts of its readers, and motivates them against sin. The second Canto contains one of the first cruel punishments that advises against giving into the desires of the heart, and it encourages readers not to sin in such a way. Dante and Virgil stumble upon a scene where sinners who abandoned themselves to their temptations, (Canto 2, line 53), swirl around in the tempest of Hell. Dante soon spots the well known Paolo and Francesca and calls to them wishing to hear their story. The two tell a story of abandoning reason to fulfil their appetites, and how they must not spend eternity in the grasp of the other as punishment. On the other hand, Sussy explained how certain extreme behaviour led her to get an earlier diagnosis on her children; triggers like seeing her children being on edge for 3 hours and then, they kick the window and break it out of rage, made her realize that her sons needed to see a psychiatrist. I would have to agree with Trump s quote on stopping Muslims from coming into our country because if we stop the Muslims from entering the country we should be able to control some of the terrorist threats and attacks that have occurred. Another quote of Trump s that I agree with is, In the Middle East, we have people chopping the heads off Christians, we have people chopping the heads off many other people. We have things that we have never seen before as a group, we have never seen before, what s happening right now. The medieval times I mean, we studied medieval times not since medieval times have people seen what s going on. I would bring back waterboarding and I d bring back a hell of a lot worse than waterboarding. , stated Trump in a Republican Presidential debate. The reason I agree with Trump on this topic is because if they want information from us and just keep capturing our people and killing them than we should be able to send in some of our armed forces and capture some of the Middle Easterners doing same and try to get information from them, and if they don t want to talk to us torture is a good option because you can get the information without killing ... The other is a mixed body of social science literature pertaining to anything from environmental laws to political ecology. These are seen as environmental discrimination because the companies are placing possibly toxic facilities in these specific areas where the residents do not often have the means to fight back against them. Due to the results of that study, waste dumps and waste incinerators have been the target of environmental justice lawsuits and protests. Several of the most popular Environmental Justice lawsuits are based off of violations of civil rights laws. The first instance to use civil rights as a way to challenge the placement of a waste management facility was in 1979. The Northeast Community Action Group, or NECAG, was created by African American residents in a middle class neighborhood in order to keep a landfill out of their home town. This group is recognized as the first organization that found the connection between race and pollution. The group, alongside their attorney Linda McKeever Bullard started the lawsuit Bean v. Southwestern Waste Management, Inc., which was the first of its kind to challenge the sitting of a waste facility under civil rights law. The Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, which was used many times to defend minority rights during the 1960s, has also been used in numerous Environmental Justice cases. Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is sometimes used in lawsuits that are fighting environmental inequality. Section 601 prohibits ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While cost will always be a consideration, there obviously is the human element that must be addressed at the ground level. Inspiring people to use government or state funded programs is no easy task as the people who are not using them are the ones who need the programs the most(Dryden, et. al. 2012). Below is an exploration of some successful and unsuccessful programs, and some ideas on improving use of these programs by the people who need them the most. Women s Preventive Health The Every Woman Matters program(EWM), is one of many government funded programs aimed at providing preventive maintenance and screening to populations considered more at risk and less likely to seek care(Backer, et. al. 2005).
