Environmental Law Essay
Writing an essay on environmental law is a daunting task that requires a deep understanding of
legal frameworks, environmental science, policy implications, and societal impacts. It involves
extensive research to comprehend the intricate web of statutes, regulations, and international
agreements governing environmental protection.
One of the biggest challenges is navigating through the vast amount of literature available on the
subject, ranging from legal texts to scientific journals and case studies. Synthesizing this
information into a coherent and compelling argument requires not only analytical skills but also
the ability to critically evaluate sources and interpret complex legal language.
Moreover, environmental law is a dynamic field, constantly evolving in response to new
scientific discoveries, technological advancements, and shifting political landscapes. Keeping
abreast of these developments and incorporating them into the essay adds another layer of
complexity.
Crafting a well-structured and persuasive essay also necessitates grappling with the
interdisciplinary nature of environmental issues. Understanding how legal principles intersect
with environmental science, economics, ethics, and politics is crucial for providing a
comprehensive analysis.
Furthermore, addressing the multifaceted nature of environmental challenges requires grappling
with conflicting interests and balancing competing priorities. This involves considering the
perspectives of various stakeholders, including governments, corporations, environmental
organizations, and affected communities.
In conclusion, writing an essay on environmental law demands not only a high level of expertise
in legal research and analysis but also a nuanced understanding of scientific, social, and political
dynamics. It requires dedication, time, and meticulous attention to detail to produce a piece of
work that is both informative and persuasive.

Autism Relates to Exposure to Ionizing and Non-ionizing...
Pregnant women have a higher risk to exposure of ionizing radiation and non ionizing
radiation because of the many procedures that they have to go through for their
medical procedures (Williams, 2010). Some of the nonionizing exposures could
include radio frequencies, microwaves and especially ultrasounds in women when
going for their monthly checkups. When looking at ionizing radiation, in utero
exposure could be carcinogenic, mutagenic, or teratogenic (Williams, 2010).
Carcinogenic is radiation that directly causes cancer. Mutagenic involves when X
rays are capable of creating a mutation. Teratogenic can interrupt with normal
embryonic development and produce risks with the developing fetus. These effects
depend on the exposure level of the radiation and the stage of the fetal development
(Williams, 2010). Regardless of the dose of radiation, the long term risk of their
offspring having autism is still increased. The amount of radiation that the mother
and the child should be exposed to should be monitored and kept at a low dose
through the entire pregnancy. Ultrasounds have been a big issue in how it can cause
a child to have Autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Risks of Ionizing radiation during
pregnancy depends on the amount of prenatal exposure and the stage of development
the embryois at. During organogenesis, two to seven weeks of fertilization, is when
the embryo has a higher risk to major effects of radiation (Williams, 2010).

The New Rules Of A Project Manager Essay
Meredith (2006) mentioned that selecting a project manager is one of the two most
important decision concerning the project. He mentioned the project manager
should have credibility and sensitivity. However, in other books mentioned that
PM not only should have credibility and sensitivity but also vision, courage,
integrity, and discipline Visioner John P. Kotter described a project without vision
is a region that is unknown which is a stretch of unmapped future. In his book The
New Rules: How to Succeed in Today s Post Corporate World , he mentioned that
the main destruction is there is no any vision from PM. Benis and Nanus, (1997: 19)
defines vision as: Something that articulates a view of a realistic, credible, attracttive
future for the organization, a condition that is better in some important ways than
what now exists Furthermore becah (1993) said that the vision is a general
formulation of the desired state at the end of the plan period to achieve the goals that
may be achieved within a certain period. Visionary leader is a leader whose in
running the organization s activities emphasize the vision that has been set together
from planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating as a manifestation of the
organization. A PM must be visionary because it can foster the commitment of its
employees. One easy way to visualize the vision is by imagining what we want to
achieve an organization in the future. PMs who are on a mission with his team will

How Is Beowulf Honorable
Beowulf The Great Today people go out of their way to help someone and do
good. Average people without proper equipment will stop to help victims of a car
crash, they are perceived as heroic. Similar to the Anglo Saxons who allowed their
warriors to go into battle without weapons if they wished. This challenge wasn t
accepted by many men, but those who did were seen as very honorable. Beowulfwas
one of the brave men who took this challenge, in Beowulf he leaves his homeland to
help Hogarth get rid of a terrible monster plaguing their lands. This shows his
strength, his courage, and his lasting capabilities which start his life as a hero.
Beowulf is extremely courageous more than your average warrior at this time.
Once in Herot he offers to fight the monster Grendel with only the help of his men.
As quoted in the following sentences that i, alone and with the help of my men,
may purge all evil from this hall. (165 166) As a warrior he is able to trust in his
capabilities and his mens. Beowulf is afraid of how his lord Higlac will perceive
him if he goes to fight Grendel with weapons. He states in the following lines i have
heard, too, that the monster s scorn of men is so great that he needs no weapons and
fears none. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His battle with Grendel is the start of it all as stated in this qoute ..slowly toward
Herot again, retelling Beowulf s bravery as they jogged along. ( 379 380)
Everyone will start retelling the story of Beowulf and his battle with Grendel, poets
will start writing it down making him a warrior known by all, and a legend. This is
similar to The 13th warrior in the sense that when Beowulf comes back from the
killing the mother of the Wendol s his health starts to deteriorate. He ask Ahmad Ibn
Fadlan the poet to write down his story so that he may be remembered. Both these
scenes are memorable mostly because of the bloodshed that
Functionalist Perspective On Gambling
According to Sociology: A Global Perspective , by Joan Ferrante, Sociologists draw
on three broad perspectives functionalist, conflict, and symbolic interaction.
Functionalism studies the inter depending parts of society. The core concepts of
functionalism include: stability, interdependence, and a balance between parts of
society to maintain social order. Functionalismfocuses on an individual sector of
society and how it relates to society as a whole. For example, a person s hand has five
fingers. Each finger assists in picking something up. The functioning of a hand
depends on the productiveness of each individual finger. Functionalists study the
anticipated and unanticipated consequences of a part of society (Ferrante). These
consequences are categorized as either manifest or latent. Manifest function explains
the expected effect, while latent function demonstrates the unintended effects. The
anticipated and unanticipated consequences are also considered. These are known as
manifest and latent dysfunction.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gambling has been traced to nearly every society in history. The term gambling has
negative connotations, like addiction and crime. It is often considered to be a
problematic part of society. However, gambling/casinos can benefit society. A
manifest function for gambling and casinos is that it offers jobs and creates a boost
in the economy. Worldwide there is an estimated 1 million jobs involved in the casino
business. The annual revenue of casinos in the U.S. is approximately 60 million
dollars. Another expected impact that gambling has on society is the contribution to
fund public education. The manifest functions of gambling and casinos are
A Thousand Acres Literary Analysis
Abuse Many abused children cling to the hope that growing up will bring escape and
freedom but she is still a prisoner of her childhood; attempting to create a new life,
she reencounters the trauma (Herman, Trauma and Recovery). In the novel A
Thousand Acres the protagonists, Ginny and Rose, take the responsibility of being
the women of the household after their motherpasses away. They raise their younger
sister and take care of all their father s needs. Their father, Larry Cook, asserts his
position as a dominant male and forces his daughters to submit to him through abuse,
however, in the end Ginny and Rose revolt against their father. Ginny and Rose
tolerate their father s bad temper and tantrums, but are only subject to disrespect...

Rose says to Ginny Daddy thinks history starts fresh every day, every minute that
time itself begins with the feelings he s having right now. That s how he keeps
betraying us, why he roars at us with such conviction. We have to stand up to that
(Smile, 216). Ginny and Rose decide to finally express their opinions and feelings
against their father for the way he treats them. They realize that if they continue to
endure their father s torture, they will be encouraging it. Larry believes that his
daughters are weak and incapable of voicing their own opinion and because of this
he continues to oppress them. However, Rose and Ginny attempt to build their
confidence to be able to retaliate against their father. Rose tells her father that he
cannot just roll over [her and Ginny], [he] may be [their] father, but that [does not]
give [him] the right to say anything to Ginny or her (Smile, 182). Rose perseveres
and takes a stand against her father to declare justice for Ginny and her. Both
sisters not only stand up for themselves but also for the women around them, as
Ginny states that Rose, her and all the women she knew suffered from abuse
(Smile, 115). Rose says weakened is not enough. Destroyed [is not] enough. He
[has] got to repent and feel humiliation and regret. I [will not] be satisfied until he
knows what he is says Rose (Smile, 216). Even after Ginny and Rose take a stand,
Rose is not yet satisfied and wants her father to repent and regret all that he has done
to his daughters. Living with the emotional and sexual torture, Rose realizes that
telling her father how to behave with them is not enough and that they must take
further steps to make their father realize his mistakes. The continuous torture builds
up and results in revolt from the two sisters who are forced to be submissive to their

MEMORANDUM
DATE:September 14, 2011
SUBJECT:Al Dunlap at Sunbeam analysis
Introduction
This memo will reflect on and analyze the decisions of the Sunbeam Board of
Directors during Albert Dunlap s tenure as CEO. This analysis will include an
overview of Sunbeam s goals, evaluation of 1996 1997 and 1998 compensation
package, assessment of the firing decision by BOD and the overall governance of the
BOD.

Evaluation of Dunlap s compensation package
The first compensation package offered to Dunlap (the 1996 1997 compensation
package) was well designed in the consideration of merely improving the stock
prices and the company s market value in the short term. It consists of a salary of
507,054, no bonus but well over 16 millions in stock options. The package design
was obviously shortsighted and focused primarily on the profits and share value as
expected and lacked incentive to create long term value. The company s other
values, such as culture, employees and customers had absolutely no value in this
model. Furthermore, the package even encouraged Dunlap to forego long term
initiatives at the expense of employee s benefits and the company s social
responsibility and long term profitability in order to drive up the stock price.
The second compensation package doubled his salary to 1 million and increased
his stock options as well. It was unnecessary and excessive as his performance was
already tied to the huge amount of stock he already owned. The new contract is
even more absurd: 2 million in salary and additional stocks, as Graef Crystal
compensation consultant commented, He likes to portray himself as swashbuckling
CEO, but real men don t take $2 million salaries and lot s of free stock. He s a pay
wimp, when it comes down to it. Although Dunlap rationale suggested, You can t

Essay On Breast Augmentation
Finding a Breast Augmentation Doctor
Breast augmentation, also referred to as augmentation mammaplasty, is a treatment
that surgically alters the shape and size of your breasts. However, in order to
ascertain the appropriate shape and size of breast implants to fit your frame, and
ensure the surgery goes smoothly, it is essential that you find a skilled and
experienced breast augmentation doctor.
Although most breast enlargement procedures are performed by fully qualified
breast augmentation doctors, there are a few carried out by under qualified
practitioners, often resulting in painful side effects. Therefore, to help you make a
well informed decision, we have provided you with a few tips to find a qualified and
experienced breast augmentation doctor:
Ask for Referrals

If they aren t able to make you feel comfortable now, you can t expect anything to
change later on either. Therefore, discuss all potential treatment options with your
doctor as well as the physical details of the operation.
Look at Before and After Photos
Ask your breast augmentation doctor to see their before and after breast implant
photos of previous patients, as this would provide some insights about their abilities.
However, you should not expect the exact same results, as they are dependent upon
the shape and size of implant you are going to choose.
Do They Have an Accredited Surgical Facility?
You would also want to know if your breast augmentation doctor has hospital
privileges in the event that anything goes wrong. In addition, check if they have an
accredited surgical facility, as it ensures you are provided with the most comfortable
and safest procedure possible.

The Knowledge Of Natural Sciences And History
I chose this question since it has actually stayed with me for the whole TOK
course. I found it very difficult to find a link, for example, of perception in math or
how reason could fit into art. A network suggests that more than one way of
knowing can collaborate within another in order to gain knowledge in a particular
Area of knowing. The statement implies that not using a network of WOK to gain
knowledge is unwise. Thus, I wish to examine how we best acquire knowledge in
Natural Sciences and History. My two central knowledge questions are, how reliable
is it to use only one way of knowing in one Area of knowledge in order to gain
knowledge? and Is it essential to use a network of ways of knowing to acquire good
knowledge?
The scope of Natural Sciences is to create principles, theories and laws about the
natural world. Natural Sciences theories and laws are based on a scientific
methodology (hypothetico deductive method ). The scientific method always tries to
connect theory and observation, this is one manner to consistently organize our
observation of the natural world . Experiments are often used in order to replicate
aspects of the world in which we are interested. In fact, following this method before
stating something to be true scientists needs first to arrange an hypothesis then make
some tests in order to prove the theory and finally make up the law. Doing that we
can say to acquire a proof and, therefore, good knowledge.
One aspect of its methodology is

Essay about Alice Walker s Everyday Use
In every family there seems to be a child that is bestowed with all of the positive
aspects of her parents. Unfortunately, for every perfect child there is, it seems that
there is one child that is less talented and less beautiful. In the short story, Everyday
Use , these two character descriptions fit perfectly in relation to the characters of
Dee and Maggie. Dee is the gifted and beautiful child, whereas Maggie seems to
have been left behind by the gene pool and luck. In her short story, Everyday Use ,
Alice Walker utilizes language, the tragedyof the fire burning down Maggie s family
s house, and her portrayal of Dee to pain an extremely sympathetic portrait of Maggie.
Walker s use of language when describing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, when contrasted with the description we receive of Maggie, the
description of Dee creates sympathy with the reader because it seems unfair that Dee
would be given the gift of beauty and Maggie was not. The picture is even bleaker
when you factor in that Dee is Maggie s older sister and Maggie probably grew up
realizing how beautiful Dee was, and hoping to one day be just as beautiful. Maggie s
physical scars created by the fire and the description of Dee as beautiful leave the
reader feeling a great amount of compassion for Maggie.
The sympathy allotted to Maggie by the reader is not based solely on her physical
scarring, her lack of intelligence also. These feelings are created by Walker s use
of language when Mama again states, Sometimes Maggie reads to me. She
stumbles along good naturedly by can t see well. She knows she is not bright. Like
good looks and money, quickness passed her by (384 85). There are several terms in
this quotation that help construct sympathetic feelings. First, it is pointed out that
she cannot see well; second, the admission by Mama that Maggie knows that she is
not intelligent; third, the statement that good looks, money, and quickness passed her
by. When these three facts are combined with the physical scarring, it fashions a
portrait of Maggie as a woman that is physically deformed, has a difficulty with her
vision, is

following:
1). According to the Synoptic, Gospel Jesus was working in Galilee and on the last
day, he arrives south of Judea whereas the Gospel of John suggests that during Jesus
ministry he travels back and forth between Galilee and Jerusalem.
2). The Synoptic Gospel states that official hostility toward Jesus occurred when HE

at the beginning of his career(Harris, 2014).
3.) The Synoptic Gospel acknowledge that after John the Baptist imprisonment, Jesus

their mission.

The accounting profession was founded on the basis of public trust; the public must

accounting ethics education is one way to solidify public trust in the accounting
profession. (Mastracchio Jr, JimГ©nez Angueira, Toth, 2015). In the aftermath of

Furthermore, accountants need to have the ability to recognize moral issues that
happen in business circumstances and the skill of judgment to determine alternatives
for resolving ethical predicaments. Ethical standards apply to all accountants who
enter the profession. The nature of accounting work, as it relates to decision making,
and its impact on businesses and stakeholders, requires the highest level of ethics.
Accordingly, accountants must possess a dual competency of technical skills and
knowledge and the ability to take ethical actions within accounting decisions.
Statement of the Problem Accounting graduates are likely to encounter ethical
situations in the workforce; however, ethics instruction in universities is inadequate
and accounting graduates are ill prepared to handle ethical duties of complex, modern
business organizations and transactions. The drive for high profit and high stock
prices can tempt management to falsify or hide financial information from other
stakeholders. Intense competitiveness and uncertainties of the global marketplace can
force accountants to consider decisions to either benefit or to harm stakeholders.
Accounting graduates must be able to consider the ethical implications of accounting
decision making as well understand, apply and implement the rules and regulations of
the accounting profession, which

In a like manner the Council of EU has also labelled itself as a legislative body.
Along side with the EP they co legislate laws for the EU. In accordance with the

Essay on Jaques Louis David
1. Introduction
Set on a stage of revolution and Enlightenment, the Neo Classical period presents a
broad and interesting topic. Jacques Louis David was the first political painter, and a
true revolutionary, but one cannot disengage his art work from the social and
political systems of the period. Therefore, this essay will present an overview of the
social context and systems of Pre Revolution France, Neoclassicism and how David s
work was influenced by it and how his work influenced it. Also important to note are
the art work that influenced Neoclassicism.

The second noted influence on the New Classical period was the excavations of
Herculaneum and Pompeii and the paintings, sculptures and jewellery that were
brought forth from these sites. These mines of wealth motivated an interest in Greco
Roman art, which is the mark of Neoclassicism. Within the recovered works, people
saw a physical perfection and moral health which was a dominant theme of the
Enlightenment. New perceptions of society based in the Athesian commonwealth and
the Roman republic was beginning to form, and later these themes became symbols
of freedom and democracy (the basis of Romanticism). The artistic assumption of the
time was the idea that, one must raise beauty over morality and that beauty lies in
shape and contour, not in colour, which only assisted beauty. This principle simplified
the Neo Classical forms.

2.2. The Academy
The first academy was started by Leonardo da Vinci in 1498. It was designed as a
gathering of people to discuss art and science. This evolved to the instruction of these
subjects by means of an apprenticeship system; masters teaching students.
Later, the Academy adopted a policy of exclusion to non members, offering only
students the opportunities to be given commissions, exhibitions and prestige. Also,
artists could only gain recognition for their art by the guilds if they had studied at the
Academy.

and critical resources, the ideology of being environment friendly is widely
advertised around the world. As a result, producers try to advance green capitalism to
urge consumers to purchase their ostensibly environment friendly products to help

what the restaurant wants to introduce to their consumers. The round pizza can be

situation in the world, which raise the consumers awareness of environment
protection. The words in the bottom left corner below the red logo We make pizza
not global warming and 100% recycled boxes try to show that Pizza Love is an eco
friendly restaurant, and is really focus on the environment situation.
However, this is just a greenwashing of this pizza restaurant. Greenwashing is

Fire extinguishers maintenance is important for everyone s safety and should be

People often seek to impress others and gain their approval through various feats
and expressions. This desire is most evident between children and their elders, in
this case if the child does not manage to gain approval or has their achievements
neglected it may cause emotional conflicts if they revisit their past. These issues
directly relate to Gus and the awkward relationship that has formed between himself
and his father due to not being able to deal with neglect. The idea portrayed by the
author Don Bailey is that sometimes when people feel they are unable to impress
those who are close to them it may cause them to have uncertainties, and if they are

History Of Haiti
The Republic of Haiti has a unique and vibrant culture. It was once hailed as the
Pearl of the Antilles for being the wealthiest colony in the world. This small Latin
American island tells a story of slaves enduring resistance to the some of the most
dominant forces abroad. In 1804, Haiti became the first free black republic and the
second post colonial country in the Americas. However, the days of being the
wealthiest colony have since passed. Haitiis now considered to be the most
impoverished country in the western hemisphere. The proud history of this country is
overshadowed by alarming rates of poverty, violence, and inequality. This island
nation s government has been plagued with numerous military staged coups and

The events that transpired in the late 1980s were a catalyst for the international
community to intervene.
As an effort to promote democracy, the United States began influencing elections in
Haiti (Torgman). In 1990 with pressure mounting from the International community,
Haiti held a moderately fair presidential election. With over fifty percent of registered
voter participation; of that sixty seven percent of the voters supported the new
Haitian President Jean Bertrand Aristide. This was the first democratic election ever
held in Haiti since it achieved independence (Torgman). Therefore, the Haiti election
was a remarkable step towards democracy.
Nonetheless, the president s popularity faded soon after the election. Aristide lost
support from bureaucrats and the military. The loss of control of the government and
the lack of support resulted in a coup in 1991. The successful mutiny hurled the newly
formed democratic nation back into familiar political turmoil just after nine months
of Aristide being elected president. In response to the coup, the Organization of
American States (OAS) suspended economic relations, while the United States
responded by enforcing trade embargoes and freezing Haiti s accounts (Torgman).
The OAS urged all neighboring states to isolate Haiti by instituting hemisphere wide
restrictions. The plan was implemented to restore democracy in Haiti but resulted in

Ntozake Shange s View Of The Oppression Of Colored
Women
All of the stories that we have read over the semester have opened my eyes to the
way women were treated, good or bad. Some stories stuck in my mind more than
others. These stories really focused on the oppression of women and bringing
awareness to the issue. The authors that wrote them were very brave for writingabout
the issues that were not getting talked about. The authors were also very inspirational
to women in the time period they were written in and informative to the women who
read them now. Ntozake Shange, Mary Austin and Willa Cather allowed me to
analyze how society viewed women and the unfair expectations put on them.

Measuring Volatility
Novices being introduced in Trading Boundary Binary Options might think they are
risk free but they are not. It is not even that easy as some may have led you to
believe. However it cannot be that gloomy after all. Trading Boundary binary Options
revolve around the underlying asset and the nature of the response generated by any
major economic announcement forthcoming.
The importance of the underlying asset to the transaction is crucial and can be
understood better by measuring the volatility arising after an announcement. This
volatility is measured by the Average True Range. The average True Range
discovered by the financial maverick J. Welles Wilder is merely a technical analysis
unpredictability pointer for goods or financial commodities. This is simply the
difference between the highest and the lowest bars while putting into consideration
the gaps that lie in between.
High volatility reflects heightened enthusiasm and can be reflected by wider
boundaries and this would be an ideal thing for a trader whose predictions were
restrained inside the boundaries. Low volatility means less trading enthusiasm and
is characterized by narrower boundaries. This would be sad news to any trader
who was predicting a break out. Trader wishing to cash in on an In Boundary
Option would be disadvantaged by low volatility. A break out to the contrary would
be an easy ride to the bank as it only

Alcohol At Sporting Events And Alcohol
In today s society, sporting events and alcohol are intertwined. Social drinking has
always been a part of the sporting spectrum, whether at a tailgate party, sports bar,
professional stadium or arena, and even at home. Collegiate sporting events are no
exception to this popular pastime. However, alcohol is not available at every NCAA
sporting event. According to Mitchell (2015), only 25% of FBS colleges allow the
sale of alcoholat sporting events. Obviously, the main concern for not allowing
alcohol at sporting events is the risk of underage drinking, binge drinking, and
rowdiness among students and fans. Despite this setback, many colleges are
allowing the sales of alcohol in order to decrease the economic burden many
colleges are facing. Several colleges such as the University of Maryland and the
University of Memphis have recently started implementing the sales of alcohol for
this reason. Not only is sales the main revenue stream for selling alcohol, but also
sponsorship from the alcohol companies themselves. The idea of extra revenue may
sound great for many collegiate athletic departments, but there are legal risks to take
into full consideration. In a hypothetical situation where Dr. Mark Emmert resigns as
president of the NCAA, the first priority that should be implemented by the new
president should be the acceptance of alcohol sales at collegiate sporting events,
specifically championship events. When looking at the NCAA as a whole, the
biggest setback that most

Rain Or Snow By Thomas C. Frost

Rain or Shine
Weather was used as a literary technique throughout the novel of Thomas C. Foster. It
is not yet explained until the ninth chapter titled Its More Than Just Rain or Snow .
He begins with a very common line among stories; It was a dark and stormy night.
This ensures the same response from all readers. Rain can be used to add dramatic
effects to a scene which is why we all have the same negative reaction to the phrase.
The main idea Foster is trying to explain is that rain never means rain. We sense that
rain is always to be associated with negative feelings and or outcomes. Foster
explains that there is much more to it.
Rain can be used as a way to show ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would be the lesser side of snows purpose to literature. It can also be used as a
source of hope. Snow actual can be useful if you are to bury yourself in it. It works
as an insulator which can be used to give a positive vibe by the written scenes
involving it.
We have covered rain and snow. There s one that has been left out; fog. So far we
have been blessed with both rain and snow having negative and positive reflections
on the scene. That is not the case with this one. Fog is used to express uncertainty.
The thicker the fog the less you can see literally but in a figurative way an author
can use it to show a tough decision needing to be made by a character or an
undetermined future or path. It can spark fear in the eyes of those surrounded by it.
We, being human, re scared of the unknown. Fog is the perfect way to display this
lack of knowledge through the use of weather. It blocks the light. We know that all
things bad lie within darkness but the problem is that we do not know what
specifically is within it. This gives the author a chance to direct the story in a new
direction. It is an escape route in a way. Authors can use fog to divert the characters
in a different direction which results in an overall change of the plot.
There s more to weather than just cloudy days. The sun can be used to describe a
sort of happiness given off by a character. It can be used to show a positive take on
an altered path. You can say that the day went from
Europe s Influence On Western Europe
Western Europe is a term that was used to describe a region where many countries,
such as Britain, France and Germany, which joined after World Wars, shared the same
history. In another perspective, it was also sometimes referring to a region where
countries shared the same value: capitalism and democracy. Throughout the history,
because of difference events, the position of Western Europein the world has also
changed. Before 1914, due to the rapid development of the Enlightenment ideas and
the industrialization in Britain and France, the world major powers centrally seated
in Western Europe. However, as the Western European countries suffered huge losses
from two World Wars, Western Europe has actually steadily marched East since the
Great War. Moreover, as many new immigrants from the former colonized regions
joined Western European countries, Western Europe also gained its economic and
political cohesion as most countries became part of NATO and then the European
Union. In the present days, while the idea of Western Europe has expanded to more
countries, it became dominant in its continent and could be considered as a savior to
many other nations.
Prior to the 1914, many of the world great powers, such as Britain and France were
centrally seated in Western Europe. In the 18th century, Britain and France soon
developed rapidly due to the birth of the Enlightenment idea, which challenged the
tradition and put more emphasis on the reasons (Hunt et al. 577). As a

continued to reduce FEMA. Director at the time, Michael Brown, wrote a memo in
June expressing his concern about the agency s future if the cuts continued (13).
Perhaps the most ironic cut was the disaster planning exercise Hurricane Pam. This
exercise, in which outlines a scenario where a disastrous hurricane hits New
Orleans, leaving more than 100,000 people in the city, began a year before Katrina.
The exercise was never finished because the Bush Administration cut funding (13).
But it doesn t look like FEMA is going anywhere. Inspector General Richard Skinner
wrote a 2009 report in which he said, Removing FEMA from DHS at this point
would cause considerable upheaval, to both FEMA and the department. (11)
How Walmart Entered the International Market
Wal Mart entered the Mexican market in 1991 and hasn t looked back. Using a
form of globalization called glocalization, Wal Mart achieved tremendous success
in Mexico. The perception of Wal Mart globally is less than stellar because of what
has been coined as Wal Martization. Some have also called Wal Mart a Cathedral of
Consumption. But Wal Mart learned the hard way how to become successful in the
global marketplace. It didn t just happen overnight. By utilizing five glocalization
strategies, Wal Mart became the largest private employer in Mexico.
Wal Martization is a philosophy where faster, better and cheaper are words used to
describe their process. More words that define Wal Martization are bigger, global and

Prior to Wal Mart s entrance into Mexico, the country only had a handful of
national chains. This is partly because until the late 1980 s Mexico had one of the
most closed economies on the planet. All of the grocers and retail stores were a
part of the National Retailing Association of Mexico, called ANTAD. In most parts
of the country the more common types of stores included tiendas, boticas,
panaderias, carnicerias, and papelarias. Translated these were mom and pop shops,
pharmacies, bakeries, meat markets, and stationary stores. These types of stores can
still be found throughout Mexico, but the presence of big box stores has increased
significantly over the past couple of decades. Those include Wal Mart, Sam s Club,
Dillard s The Home Depot, and Office Max (Matusitz and Minei).
A joint venture, as defined by Luthans and Doh, can be considered a specific type
of alliance agreement under which two or more partners own or control a business
(p. 310). This is precisely what Wal Mart did and is how it got its foot in the door
in Mexico. The year was 1991 and Wal Mart had yet to venture out of the United
States. The timing couldn t have been better for Wal Mart, as Mexico had just
opened its doors to global trading. By signing a joint venture with Cifra, a Mexican
chain, Wal Mart became an MNC and
The Doomsday Machine
The Big Short Inside the Doomsday Machine was a very informative and
interesting book written by Michael Lewis. This book was written about the genius
foresight that a group of people had about the market at the time. The market that
these men decided to researched and ultimately bet against was the housing
market. Due to a lack of regulations this market was not stable and due to greed and
other factors such as negligence this market ultimately crashed. This market took
many years and poor judgment on the part of many to reach the situation it did and
the subsequent crash of 2008 had world wide effects. I believe that the book was
able to provide a great view into this financial world and was able to explain how
something terrible like this was able to occur. The book looks into the lives of a
few people who were not your typical investors or money managers and did what
many people of the time neglected to do was to read the bond prospectuses and
project where the market was headed. These group of financial investors were able to
sort through the tranches and truly evaluate the bonds for what they actually were.
From this part of the book I learned not only... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In the case of the housing market collapse, all this accumulated debt had to be
covered by the government to cover the banks which were determined to be to big
to fail . After it was all said and done the people who put the market in this situation
walked away with a huge bonus. This debt is now passed onto the general
population again to repay for generations to come. History is said to repeat itself
and new policies can be yet again put into place to make this situation possible. This
is because Wall Street is driven by greed and they will do whatever they can to make
a profit for themselves and their companies without any remorse for what they do

Environmental Law Essay. Environmental Law - Pheello Dikane Inc.

  • 1. Environmental Law Essay Writing an essay on environmental law is a daunting task that requires a deep understanding of legal frameworks, environmental science, policy implications, and societal impacts. It involves extensive research to comprehend the intricate web of statutes, regulations, and international agreements governing environmental protection. One of the biggest challenges is navigating through the vast amount of literature available on the subject, ranging from legal texts to scientific journals and case studies. Synthesizing this information into a coherent and compelling argument requires not only analytical skills but also the ability to critically evaluate sources and interpret complex legal language. • 2. Autism Relates to Exposure to Ionizing and Non-ionizing... Pregnant women have a higher risk to exposure of ionizing radiation and non ionizing radiation because of the many procedures that they have to go through for their medical procedures (Williams, 2010). Some of the nonionizing exposures could include radio frequencies, microwaves and especially ultrasounds in women when going for their monthly checkups. When looking at ionizing radiation, in utero exposure could be carcinogenic, mutagenic, or teratogenic (Williams, 2010). Carcinogenic is radiation that directly causes cancer. Mutagenic involves when X rays are capable of creating a mutation. Teratogenic can interrupt with normal embryonic development and produce risks with the developing fetus. These effects depend on the exposure level of the radiation and the stage of the fetal development (Williams, 2010). Regardless of the dose of radiation, the long term risk of their offspring having autism is still increased. The amount of radiation that the mother and the child should be exposed to should be monitored and kept at a low dose through the entire pregnancy. Ultrasounds have been a big issue in how it can cause a child to have Autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Risks of Ionizing radiation during pregnancy depends on the amount of prenatal exposure and the stage of development the embryois at. During organogenesis, two to seven weeks of fertilization, is when the embryo has a higher risk to major effects of radiation (Williams, 2010). Introduction Autism

Functionalist Perspective On Gambling According to Sociology: A Global Perspective , by Joan Ferrante, Sociologists draw on three broad perspectives functionalist, conflict, and symbolic interaction. Functionalism studies the inter depending parts of society. The core concepts of functionalism include: stability, interdependence, and a balance between parts of society to maintain social order. Functionalismfocuses on an individual sector of society and how it relates to society as a whole. For example, a person s hand has five fingers. Each finger assists in picking something up. The functioning of a hand depends on the productiveness of each individual finger. Functionalists study the anticipated and unanticipated consequences of a part of society (Ferrante). Evaluation of Dunlap s compensation package The first compensation package offered to Dunlap (the 1996 1997 compensation package) was well designed in the consideration of merely improving the stock prices and the company s market value in the short term. It consists of a salary of 507,054, no bonus but well over 16 millions in stock options. The package design was obviously shortsighted and focused primarily on the profits and share value as expected and lacked incentive to create long term value. The company s other values, such as culture, employees and customers had absolutely no value in this model. Furthermore, the package even encouraged Dunlap to forego long term initiatives at the expense of employee s benefits and the company s social responsibility and long term profitability in order to drive up the stock price. The second compensation package doubled his salary to 1 million and increased his stock options as well. It was unnecessary and excessive as his performance was already tied to the huge amount of stock he already owned. I found it very difficult to find a link, for example, of perception in math or how reason could fit into art. A network suggests that more than one way of knowing can collaborate within another in order to gain knowledge in a particular Area of knowing. The statement implies that not using a network of WOK to gain knowledge is unwise. Thus, I wish to examine how we best acquire knowledge in Natural Sciences and History. My two central knowledge questions are, how reliable is it to use only one way of knowing in one Area of knowledge in order to gain knowledge? and Is it essential to use a network of ways of knowing to acquire good knowledge? The scope of Natural Sciences is to create principles, theories and laws about the natural world. Natural Sciences theories and laws are based on a scientific methodology (hypothetico deductive method ). The scientific method always tries to connect theory and observation, this is one manner to consistently organize our observation of the natural world . Experiments are often used in order to replicate aspects of the world in which we are interested. In fact, following this method before stating something to be true scientists needs first to arrange an hypothesis then make some tests in order to prove the theory and finally make up the law. Doing that we can say to acquire a proof and, therefore, good knowledge. One aspect of its methodology is

Maggie s physical scars created by the fire and the description of Dee as beautiful leave the reader feeling a great amount of compassion for Maggie. The sympathy allotted to Maggie by the reader is not based solely on her physical scarring, her lack of intelligence also. These feelings are created by Walker s use of language when Mama again states, Sometimes Maggie reads to me. She stumbles along good naturedly by can t see well. She knows she is not bright. With over fifty percent of registered voter participation; of that sixty seven percent of the voters supported the new Haitian President Jean Bertrand Aristide. This was the first democratic election ever held in Haiti since it achieved independence (Torgman). Therefore, the Haiti election was a remarkable step towards democracy. Nonetheless, the president s popularity faded soon after the election. Aristide lost support from bureaucrats and the military. The loss of control of the government and the lack of support resulted in a coup in 1991. The successful mutiny hurled the newly formed democratic nation back into familiar political turmoil just after nine months of Aristide being elected president. In response to the coup, the Organization of American States (OAS) suspended economic relations, while the United States responded by enforcing trade embargoes and freezing Haiti s accounts (Torgman). The OAS urged all neighboring states to isolate Haiti by instituting hemisphere wide restrictions. The plan was implemented to restore democracy in Haiti but resulted in harmful

According to Mitchell (2015), only 25% of FBS colleges allow the sale of alcoholat sporting events. Despite this setback, many colleges are allowing the sales of alcohol in order to decrease the economic burden many colleges are facing. Several colleges such as the University of Maryland and the University of Memphis have recently started implementing the sales of alcohol for this reason. In the integration of FEMA into the DHS, FEMA had to contribute to the start up costs of the new department, but unfortunately evidence suggests that the agency may have been made to pay a disproportionately higher amount than larger agencies. FEMA officials say this directly affected their levels of service in 2004 and 2005 (14). In the integration, FEMA lost some programs, but lost major ones as well (14).
