A Brief Note On Euro Zone Crisis Significantly Affected...
1. EURO ZONE CRISIS CONSIDERABLY AFFECTED INDIAN LEATHER INDUSTRY
According to says Council for Leather Export, Indian leather exports were registering an appreciable
growth of more than 15% in Dollar Terms during the first seven months of 2014 15, but, eventually
ended with a moderate growth of 9.37% during the fiscal 2014 15, primarily due to the Euro Zone
crisis .
A decline in value of Euro followed by the crisis in Euro Zone is likely to have a negative effect on
India s export to European region, which accounts for around 18% 19% of India s total leather
exports. The exports from key areas like Leather and Gems Jewellery, which holds a major
contribution in India s total exports to the region were said to have witnessed a negative effect in the
initial months of the current fiscal due to the Euro Zone crisis.
2. LEATHER INDUSTRY YET TO PUT THE BEST FOOT FORWARD
This is one paradox the leather industry. On one end, Leather Industry is often blamed for being the
primary contributor in the contamination of rivers and also creating health problems. While on the
other, it is heralded as one of leading forex earners for India and the hope of livelihood to
approximately 25 lakh citizens in the country. Of late, this Focus sector in the Make in India

Essay about History of the Computer
History of the Computer
The first devices that resemble modern computers date to the mid 20th century (around 1940 1945),
although the computer concept and various machines similar to computers existed earlier. Early
electronic computers were the size of a large room, consuming as much power as several hundred
modern personal computers.[1] Modern computers are based on tiny integrated circuits and are
millions to billions of times more capable while occupying a fraction of the space.[2] Today, simple
computers may be made small enough to fit into a wristwatch and be powered from a watch battery.
Personal computers in various forms are icons of the Information Age and are what most people think
of as a computer ; however, the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This effort was funded by ARPA (now DARPA), and the computer network that it produced was
called the ARPANET. The technologies that made the Arpanet possible spread and evolved. In time,
the network spread beyond academic and military institutions and became known as the Internet. The
emergence of networking involved a redefinition of the nature and boundaries of the computer.
Computer operating systems and applications were modified to include the ability to define and access
the resources of other computers on the network, such as peripheral devices, stored information, and
the like, as extensions of the resources of an individual computer. Initially these facilities were
available primarily to people working in high tech environments, but in the 1990s the spread of
applications like e mail and the World Wide Web, combined with the development of cheap, fast
networking technologies like Ethernet and ADSL saw computer networking become almost
ubiquitous. In fact, the number of computers that are networked is growing phenomenally. A very
large proportion of personal computers regularly connect to the Internet to communicate and receive
information. Wireless networking, often utilizing mobile phone networks, has meant networking is
becoming increasingly ubiquitous even in mobile computing environments.

Ambiguity In Emily Bronte s Remembrance
In the poem Remembrance, Emily Bronte writes about a person who mourns the death of a loved one.
Since no names are explicitly given, however, ambiguity surrounds the identity of the speaker and
loved one. One interpretation is that the persona is Bronte herself, having lost her mother and sisters at
a young age. Another interpretation is that the persona is simply a figure through which Bronte
expresses the general experiences of love, loss, and memory. However, after reading the poem, it is
hard to imagine someone crafting such a powerful piece without having personally experienced
something similar. Nevertheless, throughout the poem, the speaker experiences tension between
letting go of and holding onto memories of the past, as shown through ... Show more content on

In the first half of the poem, the speaker mainly seems to be in mourning. However, in the sixth
stanza, the speaker suddenly shifts her tone, focusing on how she has grown from the painful
experience. In fact, the speaker claims to have learned to appreciate life without the aid of joy (24),
which suggests a greater will to live and be present mentally and physically. Despite her claims,
however, in the final stanza, the speaker acknowledges the rapturous pain of remembering and ends
the poem with a rhetorical question: How could I seek the empty world again? (32). This question
seems to resolve the tension between forgetting and remembering by insinuating that she would rather
live with the memories of the past, where she finds

Mary Wollstonecraft s The Vindication Of The Rights Of Woman
Mary Wollstonecraft s fought for equity for women and was especially passionate about educating
women. In her readings, there has been numerous of topics she had raised and one of the most stood
out topic for me was her judgement towards education for females. This part of the aspect has brought
to my attention that it needs further discussion with my peer to discuss how some of Wollstonecraft s
judgement relevant to the lives of women today.
Wollstonecraft was born in London and is second of seven sibling in her family. In her readings, it
showed that she was a very intelligent and talented women who strive for success. During her life
stage, she had plenty of struggles with every aspect of her live but that did not stop her from being a
writer, philosopher or even an activist. One of the main key point Wollstonecraft raised was how girls
should be educated, she believed she was a great educational thinker and could help women to fight
for equal rights. In the Vindication of the rights of woman that Wollstonecraft published, she argued
that in order for women to develop morally, boys and girls should be educated together with the same
subjects. Girls should be taught how to reason and be given more to think other than how they dress
(Wollstonecraft, 1976). She claimed that women in her society had been pressure to adopt in the male
s society therefore an academic education is needed to allow people to become more aware of what is
happening on the world (Todd, 1989). In

Self-Reliance Vs Transcendentalism
Autonomy Being able to rely on one s own capabilities and judgements or resources is called self
reliance. Self reliance was a key attribute to obtain during the Transcendentalism time period. This
period was a direct reaction of the Age of Reason. The Transcendentalist era lasted from about 1826 to
1860 and also ran as a part of the Age of Romance. During this time, the primary beliefs were that
people understood that God and everything going on was in direct correlation with nature. Another
popular belief was that everything was connected by an oversoul. Passages that demonstrate self
reliance perfectly are Self Reliance by Ralph Waldo Emerson and Walden, or Life in the Woods by
Henry David Thoreau. Although inferior to Walden, or Life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Self reliance was a major factor in this era. Both works demonstrate great examples of self reliance.
Both authors contributed a huge amount to the Transcendentalist era, even though one actually lived
out what the other one preached. Although inferior to Walden, or Life in the Woods, Self Reliance is
still a strong transcendental piece about being able to fully rely on yourself, it is just not as in depth
and detailed about the true transcendental life. Both Walden, or Life in the Woods, and Self Reliance,
show examples of independence, reliance on one s abilities, and having the ability to make a life on
your own. The Transcendentalist time period was truly one for the history books. Many people were
too scared to be individual and stand out, while others lived the true life of a transcendental, free of all

Essay about Joseph Conrad s The Women of Heart of Darkness
Joseph Conrad s The Women of Heart of Darkness
The novella Heart of Darkness illustrates readers with three different types of depictions that men had
of women during the late 1800 s; also known as the imperialistic era. These depictions were as
follows; the naive woman, the mistress, and the wealthy widow. The naïve woman was personified by
Kurtz intended. The mistress was personified by the native African woman. The wealthy widow is
personified by Marlow s aunt. This assumption can be made on various levels. The most obvious level
is how Joseph Conrad never gave these characters names. Also when they are mentioned it is very
brief.
Kurtz s intended is the naïve character. She is alone and waiting for Kurtz for as long ... Show more

The small part that she has in this novella she manages to sound like a naïve woman.
The second character that we are introduced to is Kurtz s African mistress. The mistress is a beautiful
woman who seems to evoke some sort of control over the men. Whenever she is mentioned the men
just stand there as if in awe. She never speaks in the novella. During the late 1800 s it was acceptable
for men to have mistress , I believe that is what Conrad tried to show. That s why Kurtz s intended
never questioned why he was taking so long. She probably knew he had a mistress and couldn t really
say anything against it. The mistress managed to gain some type of control over Kurtz, and that is why
he hadn t left yet. Even Marlow was in awe when he saw the beautiful native woman with jewelry on.
Perhaps she was a wealthy woman, and that s why the people respected her.
The last female character that I will examine is Marlow s aunt. She is perhaps a wealthy widow, who
also has nothing better to do with her money. She believes strongly on the topic of imperialism. She
thinks that it helps people progress. She was the one who got Marlow this opportunity. Marlow s aunt
is the combination of both characters. She was naïve and controlling at the same time. Conrad
probably used this character to show readers how older women were in the past.
Its amazing to see how men stereotyped women in the past it hasn t

Courage Defiance is about World War Two in Denmark. On April 9, 1940, the government of
Denmark had surrendered to the Nazis. The reason that the government surrendered was because that
the army was very small and weak compared to the Germans. There are thirty two characters in this
novel, but I will name of the ones that sound the most important to me: Niels Skov, Jorgen Kieler,
Thomas Sneum. These people spied and sabotage the Nazis in order to save their country. Niels Skov

Hybridity In Garcia Marquez s Of Love And Other Demons
In the novel Of Love and Other Demons, the author uses a few kinds of magic to bring out a few
themes, mainly the themes of love and hybridity.
The author uses Sierva Maria s hair as a magic symbol for love. The novel is framed by a description
of Sierva Maria s hair. Firstly in the introduction, Garcia Marquez sees a stream of living hair the
intense color of copper (pg 6) pouring out of the Santa Clara crypt. In the final line of the novel,
strands of hair gushed like bubbles as they grew back on her shaved head (pg 109). Both usage of hair
as a magic symbol shows Garcia Marquez s use of magical realism. It is unrealistic for hair to
continue living and growing in death, and also for it to grow so quickly and immediately after Sierva

After being bitten by the dog, Sierva Maira is believed to have contracted rabies. While the Africans
consider it quite mundane, the Spaniards read it as purely demonic because of their belief in the
superstition of fearing animals and what relates to animalism inherent in human beings. Therefore, the
issue of being possessed by the demons dramatizes a trepidation. Marquez paints a vivid picture of the
hybridity in the novel that is highlighted by the demonic magic by portraying the difference in how the
blacks and the whites faces this issue. In the novel, the Bishop sees rabies as a form that the demon
may take to enter an innocent body. The superstitious Abbess to whom Sierva Maria is entrusted finds
something supernatural and portentous in every ordinary event; the fact that she did not notice the girl
s presence in her courtyard for several hours meant to her that the girl must have been rendered
invisible by witchcraft. While the servants sat enchanted (pg 49) by Sierva Maria s singing, the
Abbess raised the crucifix she wore around her neck (pg 49). The use of demonic magic brought on by
the bite of the dog thus highlights the different treatment that is received by Sierva Maria, therefore
bringing the reader s focus to the theme of hybridity in the

The Large Bathers Essay
Paul Cézanne was an Impressionist painter that helped bridge the gap between Impressionism and
Cubism. Both Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso said he was The father to us all .(Paul Cézanne, 2016)
Both artists took inspiration from the Cézanne s painting The Large Bathers and made paintings of
their own from the ideas Cézanne started.
The Large Bathers show us a scene of women bathing in a river. The colors we see are mostly blue
with some browns and greens mixed in. It s thought that this painting was unfinished as Cézanne died
in 1906, and you can see some of the figures in the bottom right seem incomplete. Matisse took the
idea of bathing women but added his own signature color schemes. In Bonheur de Vivre he used
bright primary colors to pull focus to the figures, while Cézanne used perspective to bring focus.

Legalization of Doping in Professional Sports
The incident of Ben Johnson s steroid disgrace during the Olympics of 1988 was not the genesis of

dating back to the creation of Olympic Games. Doping has shaken most, if not all of the sports

Antisocial Personality Theory vs. Social Structure Theory...
Criminology is the scientific study of knowledge in which crime is considered as a social happening.
The study of Criminology includes the ways and methods of breaking laws, making laws and
social/media/cultural reactions of the society to crime. There have been many theories as to why
people commit crime, no one can decide on just one theory to explain this. Two popular theories as to
why people commit crime are antisocial personality theory and social structure theory. The aspects
behind these theories make the most reliable sense as to why people commit the crimes that they do.

It is stated that psychopaths are thrill seekers that engage in high risk antisocial behavior just to raise
their neurological arousal level.
Psychopaths possibly have brain abnormalities which cause them to process emotions much
differently than someone that is not a psychopath. With considering these personality traits, it is not
shocking that researchers have shown that people diagnosed as a psychopath are more likely to engage
in criminal and also violent behavior compared to people consider non psychopathic. It is known that
psychopaths keep going on with their criminal careers long after others have aged out of their criminal
behavior. Psychopaths are continuously in trouble and are more likely to end up in the penal
institutions. Once these prisoners are released, they are three times more likely to re offend in a year
and four more times likely to re offend violently, compared to non psychopaths.
Antisocial personality disorder is highly unresponsive to any form of treatment, main reason why is
because people that have ASPD rarely ever seek treatment on their own. If an individual does decide
to seek help, it is usually to find a relief from their depression or emotional distress. Although there
are medications that are effective in treating some of the symptoms of the disorder, noncompliance
with medication regimens or abuse of the drugs prevents the widespread use of these medications. (

The Influence Of The Baroque Period
People used to describe the Baroque period as grand, joyful, exuberant and dynamic. The term
Baroque originally represented an irregular, oddly shaped pearl in Italian. The Baroque took the
design of the Renaissance and transformed it into its own interior style. As with the Renaissance, the
Baroque was born in Rome, date from the late 16th century. While in some parts of the world,
especially Germany and colonial South America, certain culminating achievements of Baroque did not
appear until the 18th century.
The popularity and success of the Baroque age was informed by the tensions of the Reformation and
the Counter Reformation. The Church aimed to emphasize the specter and ceremony of its faith and

Theme Of In Our Time By Ernest Hemingway
In Our Time: When Playing the Macho Man Leads to Stage Fright Ernest Hemingway s collection of
short stories, In Our Time, portrays multiple examples of men trying to prove their masculinity in
exorbitant manners, only to be met with disgrace. Thomas Strychacz points out in his essay,
Dramatizations of Manhood in Hemingway s In Our Time and The Sun Also Rises that Hemingway s
male characters ...sense of self rests precariously upon the audience s decision to validate or reject
ritual gestures toward manhood, (Strychacz 247). This concept reoccurs multiple times throughout the
book, particularly in Nick Adam s father and the former fighting champion Ad Francis. In both cases,
the men act in extravagant ways as a method to show their dominance, yet when placed in front of a
new audience, it leads to their defeat and humiliation. Nick Adams father, a doctor, is one of the first
characters Hemingway introduces who behaves in an exaggerated way to assert his authority. In
Indian Camp , we see Nick s father perform an emergency caesarean section on an Indian woman who
had been in labor for several days with a breached baby. In this story, the Doctor is shown as the
brave, masculine hero . The woman s screams do not bother him, and he does not notice how
gruesome and traumatizing this scene is to his young son. In fact, he finds the experience rather
thrilling. Post operating, it says the doctor ...was feeling exalted and talkative as football players

Anzia Yezierska’s Novel, Bread Givers Essay
Anzia Yezierska s 1925 novel Bread Givers ends with Sara Smolinsky s realization that her father s
tyrannical behavior is the product of generations of tradition from which he is unable to escape.
Despite her desire to embrace the New World she has just won her place in, she attempts to reconcile
with her father and her Jewish heritage. The novel is about the tension inherent in trying to fit Old and
New worlds together: Reb tries to make his Old World fit into the new, while Sara tries to make her

Reb holds the sanctity of his religion so deeply that he will not even consider getting a job as a Rabbi
because he believes it would turn him into a false prophet selling his religion to Americanized Jews

from God, for our good (125). Reb loves America for being the land of opportunity, where can start
with nothing and end up becoming a millionaire like Rockefeller; but he despises it for granting too
much to women: Woe to America where women are let free like men (205). Sara has wanted to get
away from her family her entire life: I was always saying to myself, if I ever had a quarter or a half

from her desire to prove to her family, specifically Reb, that she, as a woman, has worth in and of
herself (155). She signs up for classes wanting a quick education in exactly the same manner Reb buys
the grocery store (162). She is filled with an intense desire to succeed as quickly as possible, as though

Analysis Of Helen Keller In The Chosen By Chaim Potok
Helen Keller was deaf and blind and even mute girl when she first came into the world. Despite the
fact, that she had several disabilities, she grew as one of the most respectable author, political activist,
and lecturer in the history. She grew well mainly because of the guidance and care of Anne Sullivan
her teacher, mentor, and leader. The story of Helen Keller proves the importance of admirable leader
to people and individuals. In Chaim Potok s book The Chosen, Mr. Malter s wise advice to Danny,
Reb Saunders s strong will, and Mr. Galanter s heart for Reuven prove that the three characters are
excellent leaders. The characteristics that three men revealed in the story helped those who were under
their guidance.
First, Mr. Malter s wisdom to give appropriate advice in right circumstances demonstrates his
wonderful guidance. When Mr. Malter realized that Danny, the son of Reb Saunders, came to library
to read secular books, he guided him in wisdom. Danny s father Reb Saunders, a Hasidic religious
leader, forbid his son to read any other than their religious and school books. However, Danny who

According To Marx, Society Is Primarily Divided On Those
According to Marx, society is primarily divided on those who own property, For Marx, he believes
that there are only two primary groups in society and these classes are the bourgeoisies and the

humans can do anything, they must satisfy certain their basic needs, they must feed, clothe and house
themselves though productive labor, as it is the This approach is called by Marx, the Materialist

The Military Actions Of The American Civil War
Throughout history the efficacy of specific military actions have been debated and discussed. Military
tacticians and scholars have pondered the overall completion of objectives and the broad values
presented by the action. This debate has occurred for many of the actions taken in the American Civil
War. In terms of accomplishment, the March to the Sea was one of the most effective military actions
of the Civil War. Historians may debate the level of devastation that union soldiers forced on the
civilian population during the march, but Sherman s desire to rip the heart out of the Confederate war
effort succeeded (Simon Schurst). General William Tecumseh Sherman understood the effectiveness

At the end of 1864, Sherman was in charge of over 60,000 union fighting men. Sherman realized that
he had to find a way to bring about a quicker resolution to the war. To bring about this resolution he
wanted to get the people of the Confederacy to feel the effects of war. He was not interested in the
limited war that had been fought in the preceding years. Sherman, and his superior Grant, both
understood that if the Confederacy s spirit could be broken the north would prevail quickly. Unlike
many others in the union army, these men knew that as long as the southern psyche remained whole,
southerners would support the war effort, no matter the casualties suffered or the territory lost (Lance).
Sherman understood that by affecting southern morale and the southern will to fight, he could win the
war. His March to the Sea was determined to break the back of the Confederacy and bring a speedy
end to the Civil War. To do this there needed to be new tactics and a new type of warfare. Sherman
had institutionalized a type of warfare new to the Civil War. His desire to crush southern resolve had
embraced the principle of total war. For the majority of the Civil War, the battles had been fought with
a sense that there were certain rules to the war. A degree of limited war had been practiced. War had a
code. These codes of war had been developed during a time of scientific research and humanistic
development. The codes of war developed during the

Nora s false reality is partially created because she never forms an opinion of her own. Nora is always

stunted because she isn t her own person. Nora states that when I was at home with papa, he told me
his opinion about everything, and so I had the same opinions; and if I differed from him I concealed
the fact, because he would not have liked it (III.141) and that I was simply transferred from papa s
hands into yours. You arranged everything according to your own taste, and so I got the same tastes as
your else I pretended to (III. 142). Nora is a woman made to be a doll, and she plays the role with lies
and misdeeds. Nora again demonstrates the lack of opinion.
Nora s life as a deceptive doll is further showcased by the dangerous decisions she makes. Nora takes
out a fraudulent loan against her father s name because she wants something and cannot have it. Nora
realizes the burden her actions can put against her father s name and she realizes the legal action that
can result from fraud. Krogstad, Nora s lender states but did it never occur to you that you were

myself about you at all (II.52). Again, when Nora is presented with an opportunity to make a poor

Quarterback Analysis
Let me preface this editorial by saying that this is by far the longest position preview of this series.
Quarterback is by far the deepest position group in fantasy football, and you only draft one or two of
them, so hitting on a consistent producer who can deliver high point totals is crucial for your fantasy
title hopes. I would feel comfortable with starting, or having on my team, most of the quarterbacks
that inhabit the first four tiers below. That said, if I pass on the top guys, which is likely, I ll most
likely draft two QB s that I think can be good and platoon them until one emerges as the guy. This
could be a strategy you could use in most formats, unless your league s scoring favors quarterbacks or
you re in a two quarterback league. If you re in a standard league, I would recommend waiting to

When It Comes To The Fourth Amendment And Searching A...
When it comes to the Fourth Amendment and searching a person s car or their person, there are a few
factors to take into consideration. In order for an officer to search an individual s car, they must have
consent, otherwise the search is unreasonable and whatever evidence seized could be inadmissible in
the court of law. However, it is possible to conduct a search without consent and seize evidence
without a warrant but there ought to be probable cause or reasonable suspicion. The two differ in the
sense that reasonable suspicion is based off past experiences and expertise. Probable cause is needed
for a search to take place; conversely if there is no probable cause but an officer has enough
reasonable suspicion, they still are allowed to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the other hand, in Minnesota v. Dickerson (1993), if an officer can readily identify an object from
a pat down, they can use their discretion and experience and retrieve it if they know it to be true. If
they are unsure and take it, whatever was seized is inadmissible in court. In legal terms, this is known
as the plain feel doctrine. This allows a police officer to seize objects during a legitimate pat down
search if by plain feel he reasonably believes it to be contraband. Just because the plain feel doctrine
has been established does not granted officers the right to touch, it simply permits an officer to
interpret tactile sensations to identify an object during a pat down (Poulin, 1997 pg. 23).
There is a strong correlation between the Fourth Amendment and racial profiling. I asked a police
officer what they believed was the main reason for a lawsuit against an officer and they said violations
in regards to the Fourth Amendment followed by failure to act. Take the United States v. Brignoni
Ponce case for instance. A police officer pulled over a drive that looked to be Mexican because he
believed them to be an illegal immigrant. The problem was that officers were roving the border and
stopping individuals for no reason other than to see if they were illegal immigrants. The Fourth
Amendment held that a patrolman is prohibited to crowd the Mexican border just to stop and

Nurse Patient Ratio And Patient Outcomes
Nurse Patient Ratio and Patient Outcomes
Nurse staffing have an effect on a variety of areas within nursing. Quality of care is usually affected.
Hospitals with low staffing tend to have higher incidence of poor patient outcomes. Martin, (2015)
wrote an article on how insufficient nursing staff increases workload and job dissatisfaction, which in
effect decreases total patient care over all. When nurse staffing is inadequate, the ability to practice
ethically becomes questionable. Time worked, overtime, and total hours per week have significant
effect on errors. When nurses works long hours, the more likely errors will be made. He also argued
that inadequate staffing not only affects their patients but also their loved ones, future and current
nursing staff, and the hospitals in which they are employed. An unrealistic workload may result in
chronic fatigue, poor sleep patterns, and absenteeism thus affecting the patients they take care of.
According to Martin (2015), California is the only state that stipulates that in law and regulations have
a required minimum nurse to patient ratios to be maintained at all times by unit. Nurses across the
United States are talking to their Senators to help them lobby bills that would help establish a

The Story of an Hour, by Kate Chopin Essay
The Story of an Hour is a stark display of female rejection of the norms of society. This work, by Kate
Chopin, begins with a woman going through the stages of grief for her husband s death. For the wife,
Louise Mallard, this was an awakening of a new life. This new life is cut short as the information that
led her to believe this news turns our false. Kate Chopin reveals that even the desire for love is
trumped by the need for freedom and independence, through her use of precise diction and syntax, and
symbolism. With respect to word choice, Chopin foreshadows the idea that it was possible that Mrs.
Mallard s husband was not dead at all. From the start she describes the news as possible (79). To

It is comfortable and roomy (79). These descriptors help the reader to understand the transition she is
going through. Due to the loss of her husband, she now has room to live her life, and to do so
comfortably, without the intrusion or imposition of her husband. The outside world is described as
being aquiver with the new spring life (79). She also describes the feeling of freedom as creeping out
of the sky (80). It is hard for Mrs. Mallard to accept the new feelings of her freedom. The feeling had
to creep due to the fact that her freedom was granted on the premise of her husband s death. This
feeling, however, comes out of the sky as to show the new life promised to her, but it is still hard for
her to believe that she wanted this freedom more than love. This is further displayed by the use of the
phrase monstrous joy (80). The juxtaposition of these words shows very well the emotional state of
Louise Mallard. The joy she is feeling is something that others could call monstrous, but the prison
she was in previously could never be called joyful. Most important is the repetition of the word free
(80). Muttering this under her breath is a sign that she cannot believe what she is even saying. It is at
this moment that she realizes that she is free and can now enjoy her life as an independent person. In
resisting this new emotion Mrs. Mallard was feeling, Chopin describes her as powerless as her two
white slender hands would have been (80).

Plate tectonics is the scientific theory that attempts to explain the movements of the Earth s
lithosphere that have formed the landscape features we see across the globe today (Briney). Geology
defines plate as a large slab of solid rock, and tectonics is part of the Greek root word for to build.
Together the words define how the Earth s surface is built up of moving plates. The theory of plate
tectonics dictates that individual plates, broken down into large and small sections of rock, form Earth
s lithosphere. These fragmented bodies of rock move along each other atop the Earth s liquid lower
mantle to create the plate boundaries that have shaped Earth s landscape. Plate tectonics originated
from meteorologist Alfred Wegener s theory, developed in the early 20th century. In 1912, he realized
that the east coast of South America and the west coast of Africa appeared to piece together like a
jigsaw puzzle. He further examined the globe and deduced that all of Earth s continents could

Chickering s Theory of the seven vectors of student development emerged from research in the 1950 s

have revised the vectors and research has been conducted to see how see the vectors apply to different
student populations (Evans et al., 2010). To test how relevant the vectors are to today s college
students, I interviewed three female college students, two freshman 18 year olds and a 22 year old
senior. Each interview was very different despite being asked the same questions. They revealed that
multiple vectors were still applicable to today s college students.
For example, the first student I interviewed was Anna, an 18 year old full time freshman who lives on
campus and is majoring in English Linguistics. She is very busy taking taking five classes, working
part time and socializing with friends she met at orientation over summer. While she is enjoying life
on campus, she is struggling with homesickness which puts her in the vector of learning to manage her
emotions. She recognizes that she is homesick, yet she is still learning to accept and express this
emotion in healthy ways (Evans et al., 2010). Such as, she regularly keeps in touch with family, yet

Essay Digital Music Piracy
Digital music piracy has been a worry of the music industry since the creation of Napster in 1998.
Piracy is the act of stealing something that does not belong to you which has been outlined in our
society as something that is bad or against the law. There are many articles out there that highlight
music piracy but four main important ones include: The Music Industry on (the) Line? Surviving
Music Piracy in a Digital Era by Jelle Janssens, Neutralizing Music Piracy: An Empirical Examination
by Jason R. Ingram, The Impact of Digital Piracy on Music Sales: A Cross Country Analysis by Mark
T. Bender, Charismatic Code, Social Norms, and the Emergence of Cooperation on the File Swapping

Though the MP3 file, short for MPEG 1 Audio Layer 3, was originally developed in 1987, Napster
represented the first mainstream and user friendly program to transfer and download these files
(Bender 157). Napster, a peer to peer (P2P) program, allowed online users to connect with one another
and swap copyrighted music, videos, and other files contained on their computers, thus providing a
way to get free music online (Bender 157). Peer to peer network is defined as two or more computers
connected by software, which enables the connected computers to transmit files or data to other
connected computers.(Ingram 134) Since music artists and record companies were uncompensated
when consumers downloaded these music files, the act of downloading free music became known as
digital music piracy. (Bender 157) In its two years of existence, Napster has changed the music
business and its relationship with consumers (Janssens 91). The IFPI estimates that, in the year 2000,
one in every three CDs purchased throughout the world was pirated. (Bender 158)
Napster did not have a long run, it was up for a total of two full years until law enforcement stepped in
a decided it was time to make rules and shut the program down. As Janssens states, First it tried to
dissuade people to get involved in P2P file sharing by

The Queen Elizabeth And Elizabeth
I dropped my bag in the hallway of my grandmother s house and went to throw my arms around her as
she sat at the table, looking through a pile of family papers and photos. She looked up and smiled at
me, explaining that she had been looking through old papers that my great grandmother had kept. My
eyes fixed on a photo of some people standing on a balcony, waving to a huge crowd. Grandma
explained that this was George VI and Queen Elizabeth with the two princesses Elizabeth and
Margaret. It was taken by someone my great grandmother knew, who was employed at the palace.
Apparently those two little princesses were always into mischief; they were into everything. As with
most siblings they used to fight all the time but if anyone tried to come between them, they d stick
together like glue. The younger sister was forever getting into scrapes that her elder sister, Elizabeth,
had to try to get her out of. While Margaret was the fun sister, Elizabeth was the responsible one.
Elizabeth had no choice: she was to grow up to become the Queen of Britain. I looked at Grandma
enquiringly. Yes, the present Queen , she responded. That reminds me of your great grandfather Phillip
and his brother Alan , she said picking up some pages from a timeworn diary. Philip, the older brother
always the adventurous one, signed up to defend the Mother Country as soon as World War I was
declared. His brother, Alan, who had a quieter, more reflective nature, felt the need to follow his
brother, just

The Great War Between Western Powers
There are views that the mainstream theories are chronologically underdeveloped. They insist that
there are trans historical concepts that allow us to identify universal regularities. There is privileging
of European experience in our IR understanding. It is suggested that once we divert our attention from
Europe, truisms in mainstream IRT is questionable, despite their long establishment. (Buzan Little,
2000) The mainstream theory of Realism, Liberalism and their neo counterparts were formulated with
and grounded in Western History. It can be said that in the gradual formulation of International
Relations theories, scholars have largely ignored the historical, cultural and social context of different
regions outside Europe and America.
Liberalism has pacific historic origins as a reaction to the huge casualties and damage caused by the
First World War in the western world. It aspires to promote peace through international cooperation.
However, this theory simplified international relations too much to the extent that it focused on the
great war between western powers.
Major strands of Realism emerged at the end of Pelopponesian War and the Cold War in the eyes of
Thucydides and Morgenthau, respectively (Dunne, et. al, 2007). While the hegemonic stability thesis
espoused by neo realists has a (western) post cold war background of the demise of Soviet Union and
the emergence of United States as a global hegemon. Neorealism, with this background, posited
hegemonic stability

Brothers, Ram And Carl Grimm And The Grimm Brothers
Brothers, Jacob Carl Grimm and Wilhelm Carl Grimm are known world wide as The Grimm Brothers
. These authors are famous for their work in the history and structure of the German language and its
relationship to other languages as well as, German folklore, tales and literature. Through their lifelong
research into the German language they created their own Dictionary called, Grimm Law. The
Brothers also, published more than two hundred and ten German folk tales that they created from the
stories that the villagers and peasants told them. Originally, these stories were written for adult readers
and considered inappropriate for children. Many of their stories have been adapted by companies like
Disney that want to turn them into appropriate children stories or movies. Philipp and Dorothea
Grimm had nine children, all of which, did not survive to adulthood. Jacob, was the oldest surviving
of the Grimm siblings. He was born January 4, 1785 in Hanau, Germany, to Philipp and Dorothea
Grimm. One year later, on February 24, 1786 Wilhelm was born, also in Hanau. They would have six
more children before Philipp passed away in 1796. In 1798, Jacob and Wilhelm attend secondary
school in Kassel, Germany where they lived with their aunt while acquiring an education. Dorothea,
raised her six children until 1808 when she passed away. At 23 years old, Jacob is left to raise his 5
younger surviving siblings. From 1802 to 1806 Jacob, and then Wilhelm, go to the University of
Marburg for

The United Nations Children s Fund ( Unicef ) And The...
Introduction In 2006, the United Nations Children s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health
Organization (WHO) 1 published the report, Pneumonia: The forgotten killer of children which
identified pneumonia as one of the world s leading causes of childhood mortality accounting for one
in five under five deaths. The fourth Millennium Development Goal (MDG) from the 2000 summit is
to reduce under five mortality rate by two thirds by 20151. With its significant contribution to under
five mortality, reduction of the childhood pneumonia mortality is essential to achieving this goal. Over
the last two decades there has been significant progress in reduction of childhood pneumonia deaths
with 58% less deaths occurring globally in 20132. However, pneumonia still accounts for about 19%
of childhood under five deaths and contributes significantly to morbidity and disability among
children globally. Majority of these pneumonia related deaths occur in developing countries and are
concentrated in a few countries1,2. In 2013, over half of the under five pneumonia deaths occurred in
10 countries located in sub Saharan Africa, South Asia and South east Asia1,2. Successful
interventions for the reduction in childhood pneumonia mortality include: protecting child health by
ensuring adequate nutrition and hygiene, prevention of pneumonia by immunization against causative
pathogens, reducing indoor air pollution and optimizing access to prompt treatment of pneumonia1 3.

Shakespeare s Sonnet 71 Mood
To some death is the end, but in the end, it is also the beginning. Shakespeare wrote many Sonnets
about life, death, and love. Shakespeare s 71st Sonnet is one such Sonnet that focuses on these traits.
In Sonnet 71 , Shakespeare wrote of a man passing and his loved ones mourning him. In this poem,
death is not an end, but instead a release, Shakespeare conveys this through emotional tone, the theme,
and strange wording.
Shakespeare s 71st sonnet is short, but it contains an emotional tone..In the first couple of lines, the
mood of the sonnet is one of gloom and impending doom. It is gloomy because it uses words such as
fled, sullen, and warning. In line four the speaker s tone changes from gloomy to angry. He calls the
world vile and says

Redesign Of Copley Square Analysis
Copley Square is a sort of visual representation or metaphor of Boston as a whole. Boston has for
centuries been a center of learning and culture, and Copley is surrounded today by the Boston Public
Library, numerous churches, and influential businesses. Boston is a junction between the old and the
new, and Copley sports differing ages of architecture varying from the Hancock tower to the Old
South Church. Boston is where different people come together, and Copley is where the Back Bay
meets the South End. Boston is known for its oddly charming seemingly unplanned arrangement, and
more so than anything else, Copley Square represents this (Krieger 47). In my redesign of Copley
square, I paid attention to all of these elements as well as others in an attempt to create a destination
that respects its surroundings and history in addition to drawing people in and serving several
purposes. The first aspect I worked on in redesigning Copley was the pathways. I found that upon
visiting the site, the current ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the addition of an amphitheater, I hope to bring more street performers to the square, which will
then bring more people in to stay for longer periods of time while enjoying this time. With more trees
than in the current plan, the strong winds will be buffered, allowing visitors to be more comfortable.
The greater amount of green space hopes to draw more people in from the surrounding communities
to relax and have fun outdoors especially in warmer moths of the year. The design of the pathways
permits passersby to more efficiently get from one corner of the square to another. This redesign will
also still allow for the square s current uses to continue including the farmers market. Benches facing
inwards on the paths will allow for people to better interact with one another and rest easily. These
purposes will attract more people to the square and keep them there for

Steve Jobs Essay
Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955 in Los Altos, California. He is Co founder, Chairman, and
former CEO of Apple Inc. Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak high school friends and both college
dropouts joined together to start Apple Computer in 1976. They are credited for inventing the first
computer for home use. They made it possible for people to have a computer anywhere in their home,
or on an office desk, where previously a single computer took up a whole room. There creation
changed the world. However Steve Jobs didn t change what was in the products but how they looked,
functioned, and what they meant.
In 1776 the Apple I was finished being created. Jobs and Wozniak had spent six months creating the
prototype of the Apple I in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He didn t only pay attention to what was in his products but what they looked like and what they
meant to his buyers. That is how he changed the world, not with what his products have in them, all of
the components of his products are the same as any other out there, but with how they look and what
they make easier in our lives. No one goes out and says oh I m going to buy a MP3 player that s only
29.00$, they re going to want to buy Apples iPod even if they have the same software. When you buy
an apple product you re not just buying the actual product your buying what the product represents.
Job s ability to take what he wants in a phone, portable music device, and computer and make it real
and wanted by the masses is a gift.
In conclusion, Steve Jobs changed the world not only with the invention of the Apple II in 76 which
was in collaboration with Steve Wozniak, but with how he thinks. When Job s thinks of the next big
thing in technology he thinks about what he would want. He makes products that make life easier,
they look good and they represent an

Marilyn Monroe Influence
Known to the world as a sex symbol and a bombshell blonde, Marilyn Monroe was a tremendous
cultural icon during her time and her influence continues to this day. In one of her biggest movies,
Some Like It Hot, she plays Sugar Kane Kowalczyk, an innocent and charming singer who is not very
bright. Given that fact, however, she is able to steal the moment which each scene she is in. In the
scene of the band s first performance (after she meets Joe as Junior), Sugar sings I Wanna Be Loved
By You in a ballroom filled with guests dancing and eating. The lighting of the shot already portrays
her as a star; the other band members and the patrons are covered in a grayscale while Sugar is in the

Essay about History of the Computer History of the Computer The first devices that resemble modern computers date to the mid 20th century (around 1940 1945), although the computer concept and various machines similar to computers existed earlier. Early electronic computers were the size of a large room, consuming as much power as several hundred modern personal computers.[1] Modern computers are based on tiny integrated circuits and are millions to billions of times more capable while occupying a fraction of the space.[2] Today, simple computers may be made small enough to fit into a wristwatch and be powered from a watch battery. In time, the network spread beyond academic and military institutions and became known as the Internet. The emergence of networking involved a redefinition of the nature and boundaries of the computer. Computer operating systems and applications were modified to include the ability to define and access the resources of other computers on the network, such as peripheral devices, stored information, and the like, as extensions of the resources of an individual computer. Initially these facilities were available primarily to people working in high tech environments, but in the 1990s the spread of applications like e mail and the World Wide Web, combined with the development of cheap, fast networking technologies like Ethernet and ADSL saw computer networking become almost ubiquitous. In fact, the number of computers that are networked is growing phenomenally. A very large proportion of personal computers regularly connect to the Internet to communicate and receive information. Wireless networking, often utilizing mobile phone networks, has meant networking is becoming increasingly ubiquitous even in mobile computing environments. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Ambiguity In Emily Bronte s Remembrance In the poem Remembrance, Emily Bronte writes about a person who mourns the death of a loved one. Since no names are explicitly given, however, ambiguity surrounds the identity of the speaker and loved one. One interpretation is that the persona is Bronte herself, having lost her mother and sisters at a young age. Another interpretation is that the persona is simply a figure through which Bronte expresses the general experiences of love, loss, and memory. However, after reading the poem, it is hard to imagine someone crafting such a powerful piece without having personally experienced something similar. Despite her claims, however, in the final stanza, the speaker acknowledges the rapturous pain of remembering and ends the poem with a rhetorical question: How could I seek the empty world again? One of the main key point Wollstonecraft raised was how girls should be educated, she believed she was a great educational thinker and could help women to fight for equal rights. In the Vindication of the rights of woman that Wollstonecraft published, she argued that in order for women to develop morally, boys and girls should be educated together with the same subjects. • 10. Essay about Joseph Conrad s The Women of Heart of Darkness Joseph Conrad s The Women of Heart of Darkness The novella Heart of Darkness illustrates readers with three different types of depictions that men had of women during the late 1800 s; also known as the imperialistic era. These depictions were as follows; the naive woman, the mistress, and the wealthy widow. The naïve woman was personified by Kurtz intended. The mistress was personified by the native African woman. The wealthy widow is personified by Marlow s aunt. This assumption can be made on various levels. The most obvious level is how Joseph Conrad never gave these characters names. Also when they are mentioned it is very brief. Kurtz s intended is the naïve character. She is alone and waiting for Kurtz for as long ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The small part that she has in this novella she manages to sound like a naïve woman. The second character that we are introduced to is Kurtz s African mistress. The mistress is a beautiful woman who seems to evoke some sort of control over the men. Whenever she is mentioned the men just stand there as if in awe. She never speaks in the novella. During the late 1800 s it was acceptable for men to have mistress , I believe that is what Conrad tried to show. That s why Kurtz s intended never questioned why he was taking so long. She probably knew he had a mistress and couldn t really say anything against it. The mistress managed to gain some type of control over Kurtz, and that is why he hadn t left yet. Even Marlow was in awe when he saw the beautiful native woman with jewelry on. Perhaps she was a wealthy woman, and that s why the people respected her. The last female character that I will examine is Marlow s aunt. She is perhaps a wealthy widow, who also has nothing better to do with her money. She believes strongly on the topic of imperialism. She thinks that it helps people progress. She was the one who got Marlow this opportunity. Marlow s aunt is the combination of both characters. She was naïve and controlling at the same time. Conrad probably used this character to show readers how older women were in the past. Its amazing to see how men stereotyped women in the past it hasn t ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Hybridity In Garcia Marquez s Of Love And Other Demons In the novel Of Love and Other Demons, the author uses a few kinds of magic to bring out a few themes, mainly the themes of love and hybridity. The author uses Sierva Maria s hair as a magic symbol for love. The novel is framed by a description of Sierva Maria s hair. Firstly in the introduction, Garcia Marquez sees a stream of living hair the intense color of copper (pg 6) pouring out of the Santa Clara crypt. In the final line of the novel, strands of hair gushed like bubbles as they grew back on her shaved head (pg 109). Both usage of hair as a magic symbol shows Garcia Marquez s use of magical realism. After being bitten by the dog, Sierva Maira is believed to have contracted rabies. While the Africans consider it quite mundane, the Spaniards read it as purely demonic because of their belief in the superstition of fearing animals and what relates to animalism inherent in human beings. Therefore, the issue of being possessed by the demons dramatizes a trepidation. Marquez paints a vivid picture of the hybridity in the novel that is highlighted by the demonic magic by portraying the difference in how the blacks and the whites faces this issue. In the novel, the Bishop sees rabies as a form that the demon may take to enter an innocent body. The superstitious Abbess to whom Sierva Maria is entrusted finds something supernatural and portentous in every ordinary event; the fact that she did not notice the girl s presence in her courtyard for several hours meant to her that the girl must have been rendered invisible by witchcraft. While the servants sat enchanted (pg 49) by Sierva Maria s singing, the Abbess raised the crucifix she wore around her neck (pg 49). The use of demonic magic brought on by the bite of the dog thus highlights the different treatment that is received by Sierva Maria, therefore bringing the reader s focus to the theme of hybridity in the ... This allows a police officer to seize objects during a legitimate pat down search if by plain feel he reasonably believes it to be contraband. • 37. The Story of an Hour, by Kate Chopin Essay The Story of an Hour is a stark display of female rejection of the norms of society. This work, by Kate Chopin, begins with a woman going through the stages of grief for her husband s death. For the wife, Louise Mallard, this was an awakening of a new life. This new life is cut short as the information that led her to believe this news turns our false. Kate Chopin reveals that even the desire for love is trumped by the need for freedom and independence, through her use of precise diction and syntax, and symbolism. With respect to word choice, Chopin foreshadows the idea that it was possible that Mrs. Mallard s husband was not dead at all. From the start she describes the news as possible (79). To further show this, she chooses to use ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is comfortable and roomy (79). These descriptors help the reader to understand the transition she is going through. Due to the loss of her husband, she now has room to live her life, and to do so comfortably, without the intrusion or imposition of her husband. The outside world is described as being aquiver with the new spring life (79). She also describes the feeling of freedom as creeping out of the sky (80). It is hard for Mrs. Mallard to accept the new feelings of her freedom. The feeling had to creep due to the fact that her freedom was granted on the premise of her husband s death. This feeling, however, comes out of the sky as to show the new life promised to her, but it is still hard for her to believe that she wanted this freedom more than love. This is further displayed by the use of the phrase monstrous joy (80). The juxtaposition of these words shows very well the emotional state of Louise Mallard. The joy she is feeling is something that others could call monstrous, but the prison she was in previously could never be called joyful. Most important is the repetition of the word free (80). Muttering this under her breath is a sign that she cannot believe what she is even saying. It is at this moment that she realizes that she is free and can now enjoy her life as an independent person. In resisting this new emotion Mrs. Mallard was feeling, Chopin describes her as powerless as her two white slender hands would have been (80). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Plate tectonics is the scientific theory that attempts to explain the movements of the Earth s lithosphere that have formed the landscape features we see across the globe today (Briney). Geology defines plate as a large slab of solid rock, and tectonics is part of the Greek root word for to build. Together the words define how the Earth s surface is built up of moving plates. The theory of plate tectonics dictates that individual plates, broken down into large and small sections of rock, form Earth s lithosphere. These fragmented bodies of rock move along each other atop the Earth s liquid lower mantle to create the plate boundaries that have shaped Earth s landscape. Plate tectonics originated from meteorologist Alfred Wegener s theory, developed in the early 20th century. In 1912, he realized that the east coast of South America and the west coast of Africa appeared to piece together like a jigsaw puzzle. He further examined the globe and deduced that all of Earth s continents could somehow be assembled together and proposed the idea that the continents had once been linked in a single supercontinent called Pangaea. To explain today s position of the continents, Wegener theorized that they began to drift apart approximately 300 million years ago. This theory ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Chickering s Theory Of The Seven Vectors Of Student... Chickering s Theory of the seven vectors of student development emerged from research in the 1950 s and 1960 s (Evans, Forney , Guido DiBrito, Patton, Renn, 2010). Since then Chickering and Reisser have revised the vectors and research has been conducted to see how see the vectors apply to different student populations (Evans et al., 2010). To test how relevant the vectors are to today s college students, I interviewed three female college students, two freshman 18 year olds and a 22 year old senior. Each interview was very different despite being asked the same questions. They revealed that multiple vectors were still applicable to today s college students. For example, the first student I interviewed was Anna, an 18 year old full time freshman who lives on campus and is majoring in English Linguistics. She is very busy taking taking five classes, working part time and socializing with friends she met at orientation over summer. While she is enjoying life on campus, she is struggling with homesickness which puts her in the vector of learning to manage her emotions. She recognizes that she is homesick, yet she is still learning to accept and express this emotion in healthy ways (Evans et al., 2010). Such as, she regularly keeps in touch with family, yet she also demonstrates a lack of acceptance of this emotion by trying to distract herself from it by being overly busy with five classes, work, friends, and school events which may burn her out and/or affect her ... Piracy is the act of stealing something that does not belong to you which has been outlined in our society as something that is bad or against the law. There are many articles out there that highlight music piracy but four main important ones include: The Music Industry on (the) Line? Though the MP3 file, short for MPEG 1 Audio Layer 3, was originally developed in 1987, Napster represented the first mainstream and user friendly program to transfer and download these files (Bender 157). Napster, a peer to peer (P2P) program, allowed online users to connect with one another and swap copyrighted music, videos, and other files contained on their computers, thus providing a way to get free music online (Bender 157). Peer to peer network is defined as two or more computers connected by software, which enables the connected computers to transmit files or data to other connected computers.(Ingram 134) Since music artists and record companies were uncompensated when consumers downloaded these music files, the act of downloading free music became known as digital music piracy. (Bender 157) In its two years of existence, Napster has changed the music business and its relationship with consumers (Janssens 91). The IFPI estimates that, in the year 2000, one in every three CDs purchased throughout the world was pirated. (Bender 158) Napster did not have a long run, it was up for a total of two full years until law enforcement stepped in a decided it was time to make rules and shut the program down. • 44. The Queen Elizabeth And Elizabeth I dropped my bag in the hallway of my grandmother s house and went to throw my arms around her as she sat at the table, looking through a pile of family papers and photos. She looked up and smiled at me, explaining that she had been looking through old papers that my great grandmother had kept. My eyes fixed on a photo of some people standing on a balcony, waving to a huge crowd. Grandma explained that this was George VI and Queen Elizabeth with the two princesses Elizabeth and Margaret. It was taken by someone my great grandmother knew, who was employed at the palace. Apparently those two little princesses were always into mischief; they were into everything. As with most siblings they used to fight all the time but if anyone tried to come between them, they d stick together like glue. The younger sister was forever getting into scrapes that her elder sister, Elizabeth, had to try to get her out of. While Margaret was the fun sister, Elizabeth was the responsible one. Elizabeth had no choice: she was to grow up to become the Queen of Britain. I looked at Grandma enquiringly. Yes, the present Queen , she responded. That reminds me of your great grandfather Phillip and his brother Alan , she said picking up some pages from a timeworn diary. • 45. The Great War Between Western Powers There are views that the mainstream theories are chronologically underdeveloped. They insist that there are trans historical concepts that allow us to identify universal regularities. There is privileging of European experience in our IR understanding. It is suggested that once we divert our attention from Europe, truisms in mainstream IRT is questionable, despite their long establishment. (Buzan Little, 2000) The mainstream theory of Realism, Liberalism and their neo counterparts were formulated with and grounded in Western History. It can be said that in the gradual formulation of International Relations theories, scholars have largely ignored the historical, cultural and social context of different regions outside Europe and America. Liberalism has pacific historic origins as a reaction to the huge casualties and damage caused by the First World War in the western world. It aspires to promote peace through international cooperation. However, this theory simplified international relations too much to the extent that it focused on the great war between western powers. Major strands of Realism emerged at the end of Pelopponesian War and the Cold War in the eyes of Thucydides and Morgenthau, respectively (Dunne, et. al, 2007). While the hegemonic stability thesis espoused by neo realists has a (western) post cold war background of the demise of Soviet Union and the emergence of United States as a global hegemon. Neorealism, with this background, posited hegemonic stability ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Brothers, Ram And Carl Grimm And The Grimm Brothers Brothers, Jacob Carl Grimm and Wilhelm Carl Grimm are known world wide as The Grimm Brothers . These authors are famous for their work in the history and structure of the German language and its relationship to other languages as well as, German folklore, tales and literature. Through their lifelong research into the German language they created their own Dictionary called, Grimm Law. The Brothers also, published more than two hundred and ten German folk tales that they created from the stories that the villagers and peasants told them. Originally, these stories were written for adult readers and considered inappropriate for children. Many of their stories have been adapted by companies like Disney that want to turn them into appropriate children stories or movies. Philipp and Dorothea Grimm had nine children, all of which, did not survive to adulthood. Jacob, was the oldest surviving of the Grimm siblings. He was born January 4, 1785 in Hanau, Germany, to Philipp and Dorothea Grimm. One year later, on February 24, 1786 Wilhelm was born, also in Hanau. They would have six more children before Philipp passed away in 1796. In 1798, Jacob and Wilhelm attend secondary school in Kassel, Germany where they lived with their aunt while acquiring an education. Dorothea, raised her six children until 1808 when she passed away. Introduction In 2006, the United Nations Children s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organization (WHO) 1 published the report, Pneumonia: The forgotten killer of children which identified pneumonia as one of the world s leading causes of childhood mortality accounting for one in five under five deaths. The fourth Millennium Development Goal (MDG) from the 2000 summit is to reduce under five mortality rate by two thirds by 20151. With its significant contribution to under five mortality, reduction of the childhood pneumonia mortality is essential to achieving this goal. Over the last two decades there has been significant progress in reduction of childhood pneumonia deaths with 58% less deaths occurring globally in 20132. However, pneumonia still accounts for about 19% of childhood under five deaths and contributes significantly to morbidity and disability among children globally. Majority of these pneumonia related deaths occur in developing countries and are concentrated in a few countries1,2. In 2013, over half of the under five pneumonia deaths occurred in 10 countries located in sub Saharan Africa, South Asia and South east Asia1,2. Successful interventions for the reduction in childhood pneumonia mortality include: protecting child health by ensuring adequate nutrition and hygiene, prevention of pneumonia by immunization against causative pathogens, reducing indoor air pollution and optimizing access to prompt treatment of pneumonia1 3. Shakespeare s 71st Sonnet is one such Sonnet that focuses on these traits. In Sonnet 71 , Shakespeare wrote of a man passing and his loved ones mourning him. In this poem, death is not an end, but instead a release, Shakespeare conveys this through emotional tone, the theme, and strange wording. Shakespeare s 71st sonnet is short, but it contains an emotional tone..In the first couple of lines, the mood of the sonnet is one of gloom and impending doom. It is gloomy because it uses words such as fled, sullen, and warning. In line four the speaker s tone changes from gloomy to angry. He calls the world vile and says ... • 49. Redesign Of Copley Square Analysis Copley Square is a sort of visual representation or metaphor of Boston as a whole. Boston has for centuries been a center of learning and culture, and Copley is surrounded today by the Boston Public Library, numerous churches, and influential businesses. Boston is a junction between the old and the new, and Copley sports differing ages of architecture varying from the Hancock tower to the Old South Church. Boston is where different people come together, and Copley is where the Back Bay meets the South End. Boston is known for its oddly charming seemingly unplanned arrangement, and more so than anything else, Copley Square represents this (Krieger 47). In my redesign of Copley square, I paid attention to all of these elements as well as others in an attempt to create a destination that respects its surroundings and history in addition to drawing people in and serving several purposes. The first aspect I worked on in redesigning Copley was the pathways. I found that upon visiting the site, the current ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The greater amount of green space hopes to draw more people in from the surrounding communities to relax and have fun outdoors especially in warmer moths of the year.
