Energy Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of energy is no easy feat. It requires a deep understanding of
various aspects, ranging from the scientific principles underlying energy production and
consumption to the socio-economic and environmental implications of different energy sources.
The complexity of the subject matter demands extensive research and a comprehensive grasp of
the interconnected issues at play.
Crafting a well-rounded energy essay involves navigating through the labyrinth of renewable
and non-renewable energy sources, considering the geopolitical implications of energy
dependence, and exploring the technological advancements shaping the energy landscape. The
writer must grapple with intricate concepts such as energy efficiency, sustainability, and the
challenges posed by climate change.
Moreover, conveying these ideas in a coherent and engaging manner demands not only a strong
command of language but also the ability to translate complex scientific and technical
information into accessible prose. Striking the right balance between informative content and
persuasive argumentation adds an additional layer of difficulty.
To create an impactful essay, one needs to weave together a compelling narrative that captures
the reader's attention, sustains their interest, and leaves a lasting impression. This entails skillful
use of evidence, thoughtful analysis, and a cohesive structure that guides the reader through the
nuanced terrain of the energy landscape.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of energy requires a blend of scientific acumen,
research prowess, and effective communication skills. It is a challenging endeavor that demands
dedication, time, and a passion for understanding and addressing one of the most critical issues
of our time.

The working framework is the most noteworthy basic of all the framework

1. Framing the Decision
Our objective is to maximise Anders Forsgen s financial return from this
developmental deal while keeping into account the fact that we have other option
beyond this deal.
We have two primary decisions to make viz. whether: a)we should exercise our option
to buy The White Mountain Development, and,
b)If we should develop White Mountain further to aim for higher returns
The development of White Mountain is attractive because as it only involves
incremental capital costs, and no loss in time in terms of selling the development.
These two decisions and the net pay off would be influenced by two key uncertainties
viz. whether
a)we would get the lease or not (now in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Attached is the detailed chart showing the interplay between these two probabilities
(Figure 3). It also shows two nuanced inputs i.e.
a)That for almost all cases below 50% probability of lease being granted we are better
of not exercising the option to buy the development, and,
b)That given that we have a favourable lease decision, we are better off on average
developing the resort, but in the absence of a certainty on lease decision, its unclear
whether we should exercise out option or not in the first place.
As our payoff estimates are changing favourability of options too close to the base
case scenario, we cannot make sound recommendations at this time. A slight change
in the probability of the lease being granted or our ability to develop or good
reputation reverses our optimal decision.
Consequently we should have less confidence in our recommendation and attempt to
gain more information or time. It is to be noted that solely getting a higher certainty
on the lease decision may help us provide a clear recommendation, as this uncertainty
is pivotal in our choice of decision.

4. Extending the Option
The key reason for Dolores to consider this as a good option is that it eliminates the
uncertainty of the ruling on the lease issue.
Consequently the average realizable value jumps up from 1.7M to 3.5M, a gain of
A Free Public School System After The American Revolution
Although education has existed since before ancient times, the United States first
presented the idea of a free public school system after the American Revolution. In the
late 1700s, the first American schools were established in the original thirteen
colonies. Later in the 1800 century, African Americans began to have rights for
attending public educationwith some strong boundaries. In Texas, the first law in
1840 established each county to put aside 17,000 acres of land for the construction of
public schoolbuildings. Five years later, the Texas constitution later granted one tenth
of the annual state tax to be funded towards public education funds and was later on
amended again for a high amount. The purpose of education has always been the
same from the day of its existence, but many factors and traditions of education in
general has changed drastically over the past millennium.
Back when the Declaration of independence from Mexico was created, education
was failed to be written and mentioned as an important aspect for the people of
Texas. The early settlers had the production of education as a primary goal since it
lacked severely in the early 1800s. Through time education spread dramatically and
thousands began to attend school and eventually attended school with colored
children. By the early 1900s, Texas had successfully established 150 educational
institutions while offering one or more years of high school work for African
Americans. As more rights were passed
Pros And Cons Of Tesco
On September 22, 2014 Tesco, the most dominant supermarket in the United
Kingdom, confessed that its earnings for the half year finishing on the 23rd of
August 2014 were exaggerated by an expected ВЈ250 million. Stocks of Tesco

School Worksheets
It was a warm September day, when I just had jumped off the bus outside of
McDole Elementary. All the little kids got off the bus first so the older kids didn t
trample us. Everyone on the bus was excited for school. All the teachers were
outside the school holding up signs by the doors waiting for their class. I was
trying to find the blue sign because that was the color of my bus tag. When I finally
found my teacher she took us inside to class. We started the day by sitting in a circle
in the middle of the room and introducing our selfs. Then we found our seats and put
our backpacks, and lunches away. She then announced we should start following a
map around the classroom with a partner or alone. Following the map activity... Show

of the month and every month she wanted us to switch seats. I ended up sitting
right next to Jordan, we had a lot of fun siting by each other. Finally we started
hanging out at recess. It was funny because I knew the people she hung out with

The Importance Of Faith In The Confessions
There is a reoccurring theme throughout The Confessions where Puritans seem
entirely burdened with guilt, typically due to their wavering faith or belief in God.
It often seems that in times of adversity, they are unable to feel God s presence and
their misery completely clouds and obstructs their faith. Many of them also feel so
out of touch with God, they feel they are undeserving of his mercy . Some even go
further and admit to being afraid of God s wrath, as Joanna Still s confession
demonstrates; And from Jeremiah though has forsaken me for I am weary of
repenting and so she thought God would destroy her. (The Confessions159). The
various circumstances of these confessions bring up some interesting questions
and serve as a window into the the everyday lives of these Puritan colonists. For
what reasons do these lapses in faith occur? This is just one question that arises
while trying to understand Puritan perspectives. The widowed Joanna Still s
confession presents an interesting dilemma, where she says; I ll go to the Lord, but
could not....But in deep distress, Zachariah 12:10 they shall look and mourn there
she saw she could not believe in the blood which was shed for her. And hence
considering God commanded her and condemned her for not believing. (The
Confessions 161). There are two explanations to this dilemma; the first being that she
feels God has punished her with misfortune because of her inability to feel God s
presence. The second explanation is that it
Guy Fawkes Analysis
What Does Guy Fawkes Say?
Philip James Bailey captures the essence that, Man is a military animal, glories in
gunpowder, and loves parade (Bailey 213). It is definitely easy for us to recall
Baileys judicious argument between him and his hearers. We are what we can call
ourselves a little animalistic. We realistically savor each valuable moment within a
fight. For instance, we have this parade that allows us to enjoy our fifteen minutes of
fame, just for doing well in the fight. The time has come to tell whether Guy Fawkes
actions during the Gunpowder Plot was successful and proved his fault on his own
regards, or if his vengeance caused him his life.
Eventually, we will need to identify the primary terms that demonstrate
significance for Guy Fawkes and his predictable Gunpowder Plot. First, they
needed a plot, a plan made in secret by a group of people to do something illegal or
harmful, as a result, of their goal being successful. Due the fact, that Guy Fawkes
plotting was not to be harmless, him and his other conspirators had to keep their
plot a secret; not meant to be known. Fawkes and his conspirators knew what they
were about to do was bound to have consequences and along with them perpetrating
treason, he crime of betraying one s country, especially by attempting to kill the
sovereign or overthrow the government. Gunpowder known as, an explosive
consisting of a powdered mixture of saltpeter, sulfur, and charcoal was poured into
barrels, that were used to

Closets speak to Melinda Introduction In Speak, Melinda Sordino was invited to a
summer party that Rachel organized before starting high school. During the party,
she ends up calling the cops. Why? Andy Evans, a senior at the party, violates her
body outside in the woods. After that day she felt hatred from people for calling
the cops and ruining the party. From her perspective, she looks at everything

be left alone in her closet. In Speak, Laurie Halse Anderson, employs the closet as a

There is a beast in my gut, I can hear it scraping away at the inside of my ribs. Even
if I dump the memory, it will stay with me, staining me. My closet is a good thing,
a quiet place that helps me hold these thoughts inside my head where no one can
hear them. (51) She has created herself this safe space, but she has done so at the
cost of her grades, relationships and human connections. She doesn t consider
being in this world is a great thing or life being beautiful. Even if years past, she

The Impact Of Marketing On Human Hair
Introduction Baldness is one of the emerging problems in the USA. Hair growth
solutions has been introduced by various companies to help fighting the hair loss
problem. Hair replacement surgery, wigs, synthetic hair, oral medicine, different

depending upon their income spend on the remedies to grow the hair back. Most
of the time people do not take hair loss seriously as they feel it is most likely to

Today, 18 different Hmong clan names are still passed down from generation to
generation. Hmong clan names are equivalent to American last names. First names
identify people and last names identify clans. The 18 clans provide life time
membership and ongoing material and spiritual support to their members from birth
to death. Newborns are given the father s clan name, which they cannot change. For
that reason, Hmong women retain their clan name when they get married (Moua,
1995). The foundation of Hmong life is marriage and family (Millett, 2002). An
ancient ritual requires the groom to pay a bride price, a negotiated sum of money
paid to the bride s parents. Hmong newlyweds live with the husband s parents until
they have two or more children. However, Hmong culture expects the last born
married son, his wife, and children to permanently live with, support, and care for his
parents and grandparents until their death. Unfortunately, time honored Hmong
traditions are challenged by American culture. For example, there is conflict between
Hmong Christians and Hmong Animists. Animists sacrifice animals to worship
spirits; they believe that all living things have spirits (Brittan, 1997). Hmong
Christians worship God and condemn animal sacrifice. As a result, Christianity
altered traditional Hmong rituals and ceremonies. For instance, Christianity
eliminated the payment of a bride price
Sir John Alexander Macdonald Essay examples
Sir John A. Macdonald was one of Canada s founding fathers. He is most
remembered as being Canada s first Prime Minister, running the government from
July 1, 1867 until November 5, 1873. Macdonald would become Prime Minister
once again on October 17, 1878 and would stay in this position until June 6,1891.
While he was leader of the country he faced his own share of political obstacles,
including Confederation, the Metis rebellion and threats of an American he is among
the greatest leaders Canadahas ever seen and played a significant part in the forming
of Canada as a country.

After Macdonald was back in Kingston, Ontario he entered active politics. Kingston
was a conservative town, so when Macdonald entered politics he therefore joined
the Conservative Party. In 1843 Macdonald was elected an alderman in Kingston,
then in 1844 he won an election giving him a seat in the Legislative Assembly of
the Province of Canada. The members of the Assembly quickly recognized
Macdonald?s political abilities, resulting in him being made Receiver General in
1844 for the Conservative Government. This position gave him a seat on the
Executive Council in the Province of Canada. The Conservative government of
William Draper was defeated a year later so for the next few years Macdonald
assisted in the rebuilding of the Conservative Party. ( Macdonald, Sir )
Macdonald felt the key to Canada?s success, as a country, would rely on its
connection to its mother country, Britain. Macdonald showed these feelings in his
first address to the electors:
I therefore need scarcely state my firm belief that the prosperity
of Canada depends upon its permanent connection with the mother country, and that I
shall resist to the utmost any attempt (from whatever quarter it may come) which
may tend to weaken that union. ( Macdonald, Sir John ) True to her promise, Isabella
Clark came to Canada during the summer of 1843. Macdonald and Clark hit it off
during the summer and thus got married
The Media Production Program At Ryerson University
Polaroid photographs can be thought of as tangible moments in time. They give off
vibes of nostalgia and whimsy. These feelings lead me to incorporate Polaroid s in
my personal media artifact. And since I am in the Media Production program at
Ryerson University, I found it appropriate to apply what I learned digitally in
Photoshop to represent myself in an assemblage of hanging Polaroid s.
Corkboards are commonly used for reminders, organizing and possibly posting
things we like on them. These elements often come into play when I try to start a
project. I often need to plan in advance but even when I try to stay organized, I am
scattered much like the board. The texts are what I used to be inspired when I am
creating something of my own. And like many aspects in life, the Polaroid s and
board have imperfections, but it is these imperfections build character. When hung
together they form a tapestry that tells a story of my life. I will now explain part of
that story by analyzing three of these texts from my collage by applying key concepts
commonly studied in popular culture.
Habitus, described by sociologist Pierre Bourdieu is the manifestation of culture
through developed habits and predispositions. Habitus can be thought of as the
procedural memory one develops when one improves in a sport by practicing it for
many years (as cited in Cultural Capital, 2016). This metaphor fits perfectly for
something I love to watch and play: hockey.

The opium poppy has been used as a medicinal plant for centuries all over the
world. The opium poppy plant belongs to the Papaveraceae family. The scientific
name of the opium poppy is Papaver somniferum L., and it is native to Turkey. The
plant has lobed leaves, milky sap and four to six petaled flowers with several
stamens surrounding the ovary. The two sepals drop off when the petals unfold.
The ovary then develops into a short, many seeded capsule that opens in dry

There are manufactured alkaloid derivatives that include dihydromorphine,

acts on the nervous system and are addictive to the human body. The other form is
not addicting and instead relax muscle groups.
Papaver Somniferum has been used since Greek times to relieve suffering and
euphoria. Records indicate that the opium poppy has been used since the time of
Mesopotamia (5000 to 4000 BC). The records refer to the poppy and its use as
opiates as medical tablets. Homer s writings indicate Greek usage of the substance at
least by 90OBC: Hippocrates made extensive use of medicinal herbs including opium
(see Britannica Online).
It is believed that the Romans probably learned of opium in the Mediterranean.
Opium spread to places all over the world. In China opium was reported as a problem
during the seventeenth century. Between World War I and H the cultivation of opium
grew in Central America in the mountains. Now the major producers and exporters of
opium are Turkey and India (Britannica Online).
Opium was definitely used in more recent times as well. Before the nineteenth
century there were few painkillers available. There were few alternatives to using
opiates to end suffering for dying people. Long ago opium was not considered
harmful and was available to everyone. Doctors advised taking opiates to relieve a

The President Is Not Bound By The Geneva Convention
Summary
The Geneva Conventions are a set of rules ,for countries that have taken part in the
conventions, to conduct war by. They state how soldiers, sailors, POW s, and
civilians are to be treated during times of war between two opposing states or
countries. They also show what is required to have the Conventions apply to each
person. In the article The President Is Not Bound by the Geneva Conventionsin
Dealing with Terrorists by Jay Bybee, a united states appeals court judge, he talks

Bybee states that the Geneva Conventions are meant to govern what goes on in
war between two states, not between a state and a non state group. Even though
Afghanistan has been a part of the Geneva Conventions since 1956, he says that
the Taliban that is running the state party is an extremist group and is also
illegitimate therefore it does not fall under Geneva III. Bybee also informs that
neither does the al Qaeda terrorist group because it is not a state so therefore it does
not fall under Geneva III, and the president does not have to follow the the same
rules that the Geneva Conventions require. Bybee argues that it is for the president
s discretion as to whether or not we can suspend the Geneva Conventions when it
comes to any terrorist group. He shows that many presidents in the past have
suspended treaties and this is not any different. If the times call for it the president
can call for a treaty to be ignored. When the president is questioned on his choice he
is checked by the supreme court and then given approval. The president also has the
power to restore the obligations that are required when the state is back to its original
form and meeting its treaty standards. ( Bybee
The Mesothelioma
The mesothelium has different names depending on the location in the body. The
pleura is the name for the mesothelial tissue surrounding the lungs and lining the
chest cavity. The peritoneum covers most of the organs in the abdominal cavity,
while the pericardium lines and protects the heart. The mesothelium produces a
lubricating fluid that allows organs within it to move and glide easily. The fluid
allows the lungs to breathe and the heart to expand and contract without creating any
type of internal friction.
Like other forms of cancer, mesothelioma occurs when cells become abnormal and
divide or grow out of control. When someone has mesothelioma, the helpful
lubricating fluid described above may be over secreted. This excess fluid encases ...

A Streetcar Named Desire Film Analysis
In the film A Streetcar Named Desire , the producers do an excellent job of
showing how the film plays with light and dark, illusion and reality, and brutality
conflict. Blanche, Stella, Stanly and Mitch successfully portray the concepts of
light vs dark, illusion vs reality, brutality conflict through various transitions of
each. As Blanche arrives at the house of Stella and Stanly, right away you see his
mood go into a very dark place as if he does not want her to be there. Stanly s
character in the film comes off to be very rough and aggressive. The night after
Blanche arrived, she meets Stanly s friend Mitch, who is different from Stanly
just by the way he carries himself. Mitch and Blanche catch a glimpse of each other
which brings some light back into her being there. Stella was in support of her
sister blanche meeting Mitch as it may have been an effective way for her to
comfortably. Light and dark effects in a dramatic film play a big part because it
sets the tone of the storyline and helps give the suspension of where the story will
go and end up. It can be good for a film to bounce back and forth from light and
dark moments to keep scenes impactful to the viewer. [For example, in the scene
where Blanche buys a cover for the light in the bedroom area, it made her happy,
and the others seemed as if they supported it to make her feel comfortable, and then
towards the end of the film when Stanly snatches the cover off the light as he is
angry, it changes the

for a specific purpose. I see technology as being part of good practice within our
planning to acknowledge the existence of modern technology and its part in children
s lives today, both at home and within my setting.
Resources are selected as part of my formative observations and planning system and
reflect the requirements of the EYFS curriculum (Early Education/DfE,2012). When
observing children s play, it allows me to identify the child s interests, how they learn
and what is required to develop their learning further. As a practitioner I can then
provide varied opportunities within my planning to support development.(KS1)
Our beliefs about how children learn best seem to reflect that of Malaguzzi Reggio
Emila (ST3,P61) approach. Acting as a co learner, I can sensitively support children s
learning by providing an intended curriculum that meets children s interests and
needs. This often results in unintended curricula outcomes as children start to
facilitate their own learning. This can be evident within our free play
Thanks to Nuclear Medicine
Nuclear medicine, based on Merriam Webster dictionary, nuclear medicine is a
branch of medicine dealing with the use of radioactive materials in the diagnosis and
treatment disease. Providing doctors widespread information about the functions and
structures of the body, it is quickly expanding to new heights. Even though the history
of Nuclear Medicineis undetermined, News Medical historians, propose that it was
discovered by FrГ©dГ©ric Joliot Curie and IrГЁne Joliot Curie in the year of 1934.
Its purpose is greatly appreciated in all fields of studies. Nuclear medicinewas first
used in 1946 for treating thyroid cancer with the help of radioactive iodine,
according to Lahey Hospital Medical Center. Lately, the common uses of nuclear
medicine include; scanning of the heart to detect any radioactive signals from the
heart. Nuclear medicine can also help a physician in determining the amount of
blood flow that the walls inside the heart are receiving. It is also a leading factor in
deciding if the cells in the heart are functioning in a healthy way. It also shows any
signs of the heart having suffered permanent damages from heart attacks. Nuclear
medicine and their use has done for the lives of many people. Around the world,
nuclear medicine is used by doctors, physicians, chemists, engineers, and modern day
hospitals in treating many diseases, and also in determining the causes of medical
problems based on functioning organs, tissues, and or bones. Looking inside
Sciencebuddies Preventing Distracted Driver
In the introduction of Sciencebuddies, the author wrote, The purpose of these laws is
to prevent traffic accidents due to driver inattention.
Based on what the author stated in the introduction of Distracted Driver, Driving a

Pubic Shaming
Analytical Summary of Cole Stryker s The Problem with Public Shaming
In The Problem with Public Shaming, an essay that first appeared in the Nation,
Stryker argues against the form of public shaming promoted by online networks and
how people have figured out a way to deal with crimes but not with social media.
Stryker introduced the essay s subject matter through social media examples, while
reflecting on past experiences and stating important details that reinforce the subject
of public shaming as well as dox and discusses this term throughout the essay. Stryker
helps define the term dox by listing the common traits and information doxxers try to

When justifying a punishment, American adjudicators look for five reasons to justify
the punishment: incapacitation, restitution, deterrence, rehabilitations and
retribution. Out of these five reasons only three apply to doxxing and even then they
are classified as deeply noted social ills (racism, sexism and homophobia) to shame
others. Stryker continually states that people are bound to impulses they hate.
Having demonstrated how the use of technology can influence young generations,
Stryker goes on to say that punishing those who make bad and or racist remarks
only breeks further hatred. Stryker uses a hypothetical example to support his
claim and explain why. He continues to go further and give real world examples of
how a New York City EMT was fired because of his racist tweets on his online
profile (Stryker 588). This strengthened Stryker s position on how publicly shaming
an individual only causes more harm and problems.
During Stryker s claim he provides an excellent example of how news wants to get
everything out first even if it is not accurate. The example he provides is from
Sandy Hook and how in the beginning of a major event reporters are notoriously
bad at getting the facts straight (Stryker 589). He then relates this to social media
and how once something is out even though it might be incorrect people are still
going to believe it because it was on social media. The intent however for each post
Example Of A Worldview Essay
A worldview is a set of basic beliefs about the nature of reality. It affects the way a
person behaves and responds to different circumstances. When young, our
worldview is influenced by parents, who tell us what is right and wrong. However,
as we grew up, our life experiences come to shape worldviews that we hold as
adults. As scientists, our worldviews matter a great deal. Whether theist or atheist, it
is critical to know what we consider to be our responsibility towards everyone and
everything around us. In this paper, I talk about views of a number of scientists about
Godand creation and the impact of these beliefs on their approach to science. In
addition, we will look at different natural phenomena and what they tell us about the
Intelligence design behind them. I will also discuss the effects of human actions on
the environment and what can be done to keep it clean.
Isaac Newton is one of the most prominent scientists in recent times. He is known
for his contribution on understanding gravity, and he contributed a lot in calculus.
Many thinkers and scientists of his time tried to explain everything using science
excluding the role of God in their explanation. Unlike them, Newton was a strong
religious person. He believed in a personal God but rejected the idea of the Holy
Trinity. He did not believe that God and Christ were... Show more content on

Character Analysis Of Tally Youngblood
Dynamic Character: Tally Youngblood The Uglies is a dystopian novel about a
young girl living in a futuristic society with a very controlling government. Scott
Westerfeld s character, Tally Youngblood, is the protagonist of his novel. Tally
changes and progresses as her story is told, making her a very dynamic character.
As you read you discover that she an adolescent who is selfish and will do anything
to become a Pretty , but as her story goes on her traits change from a selfish,
immature, and outspoken girl to a brave, mature, and caring young woman. Tally
Youngbloods characteristics alter so much due to being forced onto a journey into
foreign land to sell out her friend or else her dream of becoming a Pretty will never
come true. Dynamic is a constant change, activity, or progress (Google Dictionary).
This word describes Tally Youngblood perfectly. In the novel the Uglies
, Tally is a
constant evolving character. In the beginning chapters, she expresses how much
she wants to become a Pretty to anyone who will listen. She is very stubborn and
knows exactly she wants; therefore, she will not let anything get in the way of that,
even if that means selling out her best friend. Tally is an immature girl causing
trouble and play tricks in the first half of the novel, but her traits change once she
is put into a position where it is either Dr. Cable s way or no way. She is alone
braving the dangers and elements on her journey outside the city and into the
Smoke. She becomes more brave and intelligent. Tally s journey causes her to
mature and realize that not everything is about becoming a Pretty . Tally
Youngblood is so dynamic because she progresses and changes throughout the
entire novel. Scott Wersterfeld s character, Tally Youngblood, has such a diverse
personality to accommodate with the society she grew up in. Tally grows up in a
futuristic society with a government that trains you to hate yourself, because of this
society she grew up immature, selfish, and self absorbed. All the uglies are not
supposed to want to stay ugly because the one life goal they are intended to have is
to become a Pretty and that is it. Tally s diversity kicks in when she is challenged
and has to put her dream to

Introduction:
The red cabbage mark shows how simple household product such as red cabbage can
make a suitable mark and be able find out if a chemical is either an Neutral, alkali or
acid. Chemicals that are acid reacts with an alkali neutralizing it making water and
a salt. Acids commonly are sour tasting. Acids change with metals, releasing
hydrogen gas and leaving behind a salt. Acids conduct electricity. Acids also readily
give off hydrogen ions and have a pH level lower than 7. Simple common acids are

Supply Chain Standards For Supply Chains
Setting Supply Chain Standards to Improve Supply Chain Management
In 2002 congress considered legislation authorizing $47 million to help develop
supply chain integration standards. Since the introduction of the bill to integrate
supply chains, The legislation, The Enterprise Integration Act of 2002, was enacted
to authorize the National Institute of Standard and Technology to work with major
manufacturing industries on an initiative of standards development and
implementation for electronic enterprise integration (H.R. 2733 (107th): Enterprise

Supply chain management is the active management of supply chain activities to
maximize customer value and achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. The
management of the supply chain involves the efforts of all partners in the supply
chain working together to effectively and efficiently deliver goods (Handfield, R,
20011). Supply chain standards that are shared globally throughout industries results
in methods and rules that allows predictability, and agreed standard and guidelines.
These standards will enable partners throughout the supply chain the freedom to
apply influence on industry standards that will result in sustainable business practices
that mirror the needs of and integrated supply chain aiding in maximum efficiency
throughout the chain.
To maintain a business, supply chain management needs strong certainties on the
everyday action of the business from all accomplices in the supply chain. To spare
cost and convey more products to more destinations quicker, a business and their
suppliers must have an institutionalized supply chain. The test is to place the
emphasis on stock inventory management instead of information management
(Spiegeleire, 2015). The absences of supply chain measures will build the expense of
inventory management, funds are forestalled and advantage opportunities over your
supply chain are lessened. Setting guidelines in the
Essay on Analysis of Killings by Andre Dubus
The major theme of Andre Dubus Killing,s is how far someone would go for the
person they love. It is important to note the title of the story is killings and not killers,
for the reasoning that the story does not just focus on two deaths or two murderers
but rather the death of marriage, friendship, youth, and overall, trust.
Richard Strout was married to Mary Ann, who was most likely fed up with his hot
temperedness that always seemed to get him into fist fights. She separated from her
husband and while they were going through the process of divorce, she began a new
relationship with Frank Fowler, killing all hope of reconciling her marriage with
Strout. In return Strout became enraged not only in losing his wife, but their sons, who

receive closure and feeling as if the law had failed to execute justice, Fowler is
pushed not only by his wife s prodding but also his love for his son to seek his own
version of justice; which is ultimately revenge.
With the help of his best friend Trottier, Fowler was able to plan out a seemingly
flawless murder. Both men tend to work late nights; Trottier was a bartender, so
Fowler meeting with him after hours was an easy alibi. The hardest part was
getting Strout to a secluded place, which they were able to do by conning him at
first, saying they had bought him a ticket and wanted him out of their lives so that
everyone could move on stating, It s the trial. We can t go through that, my wife
and me. You re leaving. We ve got you a ticket. (Dubus 105) After leaving Strout s
car at an apartment building in Boston, they lead Strout to a pre dug hole in a
wooded area where Fowler kills him. The gun kicked in Matt s hand, and the
explosion of the shot surrounded him...Richard Strout, squirming on his belly pushed
himself towards the woods. Then Matt went to him and shot him once in the back of
the head (106).
In this story, Dubus encourages the reader to decide the moral standing and
responsibility of each man and the basic instinct to protect ones family. At the end of
the story, Matt tells Ruth what happened, but it is clear that he feels deep
Diesel Emission Regulations
Are EPA Diesel Emission regulations regulating Truck owners?
As a result of EPA regulations, today s diesel engines are more efficient than ever
before seen in large and midsized trucks. Certain regulations restrict truck owners
from using certain truck models, because of excess diesel emission. Increasing
drastically as technology improves, cars and trucks produce less and less diesel
exhausts and emissions. But because diesel engines can operate for 30 years or more,
millions of older, dirtier engines are still in use, (Epa.Gov). Reducing exposure to
diesel exhaust from these engines is especially important for the preservation of
human health and the environment. According to the EPA, the United States

Volkswagen company put sensors in the emission component, so when tested, the
examiner sees that the car meets emission standards. But because the sensors are
to meet U.S emission standards, the car itself can be modified to ignore the sensor
s override and make the car believe it was in use. TFL motors was curious about the
scam, so they decided to put a Jetta TDI turbo diesel on an AWD Dyno, to confuse
the car into thinking it s on the street, not being checked for emissions. Being in
emissions mode, the AWD dyno lost horsepower and torque, but without the
sensors active the car produced excess diesel exhaust, going over the EPA
regulated limit. The car itself was able to perform at a higher level without the
sensors active, proving reason to hide the fact that excess exhaust is produced.
Certain companies realize the regulations hold their products back, so to promote
the fuel efficiency and or horsepower of the car, they would gladly hide the fact
that their cars are emitting excess diesel exhaust. Some ways to prevent excess
exhaust would be to install EGR coolers, or to buy tuners for your engine s valves.
But many professional truckers tend to stick with rolling coal. Rolling coal can
happen by making a smoke switch, or removing emission controls on truck models,
and adding a tuner to produce fine smoke build ups. Diesel exhaust is actually less

Environmental (external), motoric (physical response), sensory, affective and
cognitive factors that influence pulling behaviors should also be explored in the
clinical interview (Stemberger, Stein, Mansueto, 2003).
The goal of assessment is to determine a diagnosis and acquire information to assist in
developing the treatment plan (Diefenbach, Tolin, Crocetto, Maltby, Hannan, 2005).
Before treatment can be implemented it is necessary to assure that hair pulling is the
behavior that the client wishes to address in counseling (Mansueto, Golomb, Thomas,

Trichotillomania are the identified problems; antecedents, behaviors and
consequences should be discussed with the client (Mansueto et al., 1999; Stemberger

The assessment of Trichotillomania is complicated by the tendency for individuals to
be hesitant to disclose that they are suffering from Trichotillomania (Stein et al.,
1999). Clinicians should make careful observations and employ carefully structured
questioning to assist in uncovering information that the client may be
Hrm Brunei vs Other Western Country
Introduction
Employees are indispensible to an organization. Personnel management, now known
as human resource management (HRM), ensures that an organization produces
maximum output with the greatest efficiency. The role of HRM covers selecting
and hiring the right employee, training and retaining talent, wage dispensation to
maintaining employee relations (Nankervis et al, 2011). In this essay, we will be
looking into a case study of HRM in Brunei and will cover three topics. Firstly we
explore how culture affects the way a country runs its economy, its legal and political
system, and how they adapt to technology. Next, we discuss how HRM allows
individual employees to acclimatize themselves to technical differences in an

Human rights legislation is crucial as it protects employees from discrimination. It
guarantees equality treatment for the people regardless of well known characteristics
that involved stereotyping or biasness in relation to employment. In Krama amp;
Syed (2012), some interviewees felt that favoritism is still the pivotal point of
recruitment, particularly in the government sector. Some interviewees suggested that
cohesive social relationships in Brunei society had influence on work connection in
the workplace. Although the impact was moderated by the HRM practices,
particularly in employment, there is a strong need for Human Rights Legislation to
be firmly enforced in Brunei in order to create inclusive workplaces that are more
diverse and respectful. (can we link this to how hrm enables individual employees to
adjust themselves to technical changes?)
Krama amp; Syed (2012) stated that staff not in managerial roles was not familiar
with the availability of the General Order (GO) and State Circulars (SC) as the
regulations were poorly imposed. To improve the situation, HR policies must be
enforced and properly implemented. Communication of policies horizontally and
vertically is important. All new and existing staff could be issued an employee
handbook that clearly defines an organization s values, expectations and standard
operating procedures (SOP). The purpose of the policies should be transparent,
The Harvester s Vase In Ancient Greece

Bronze Age was a product of cultural interactions between the Minoans and the
outside world. The vase is unprecedented in ancient art history due in part to the

history in making art and their mercantile economy. While Mycenaeans and
Hellenic Greeks are more well known and studied, Minoans played a huge in part
in laying the foundations of Western art. Discovered in ruins of the Hagia Triada

The Functions of a Medieval Castle Essay
The building of a castle was a monumental task; it required many laborers and took
many years to complete. When a lord had decided to build a castle, he would hire a
Master Builder to design and build the castle. He would choose a design for the
castle. The castle was meant to be the fortress of the lord so it had to be strong.
Castles had many different types of defense to protect the Lord and his family. The
many types of defense that castles had meant that those attacking had to develop ever
more strategic and powerful ways to attack the castle. When the King or Lord had
decided to build his castle, he would hire a Master Builder to design the castle and to

It was also protected by wooden Palisades (walls) and a moat (14 15). The wood
would eventually rot and have to be replaced. The wood could also be burned
during attacks (16). Later they began to build castles using stone. These stone
castles took many years to complete (13). In the beginning only the keeps were
changed to stone and kept the same square layout (18). Eventually it was found
that the square corners were a weak spot in the design and changed to a rounded
profile (Jarrow 29). Later the wooden walls were changed to stone. The new
curtain walls were much larger. They were often between fifteen and thirty five
feet tall, and six to nine feet thick. Though some were built much larger (19). Third,
the castle was also the home of lords, nobles, and kings. This is why castles had to
be built strong enough to with stand days of constant battering, or months of
blockade. The strongest part of the castle was the keep. The lord and his family
lived in the keep that was usually on top of a motte (Jarrow 15). In the keep is
where the lord and his family would eat, sleep, and store supplies and weapons
(Jarrow 15). As castles were built stronger with thick stone walls the keep lost its
importance and was often unused. This allowed the lords and their families to have
a much roomier living area that was still well protected from attack (Jarrow 19).
Keeps had everything that was needed. They usually had storage on the lower levels

California is going through a very difficult period right now because of this drought

Executive Officer of Nestle waters, Peter Brabeck Letmath, recently said that water

However, the many jobs offered by Nestle mean more production of plastic bottles
creating more waste and more pollution. As I interviewed one of my classmates,

water bottles are good because they provide water access for when there are no other
options or when access to clean water is lost. Even though the bottled water might
provide water in times of crisis, relying too much on bottled water can eventually
lead up to the same crisis that other disadvantaged regions are facing. Bottled water
might be convenient and fitting for most people, but it is still very expensive and
corrupt compared to tap water. Also, bottled water companies have great impacts of
producing and distributing millions of gallons of water on global warming. Many
cities of California are suffering from the devastating drought and Nestles pumping

In the state of California, the city of Sacramento is feeling the outcome of the water
pumping by Nestle, as well as the drought. Sacramento has reached its Fourth year of
this record braking drought, but this is not stopping Nestle from pumping water into

approximately eighty million gallons of water out of the aquifers in Sacramento
during this historic drought (Bacher). A lot of people in Sacramento

Bradbury began to write some of his first stories and in 1938 his first story
Hollerbochen s Dilemma was published in Imagination, an amateur fan magazine.
In 1942 Bradbury writes The Lake the story in which he feels that he discovered his
unique style. During his early adult years his work was routinely rejected and not
until the late 1940 s did he breakthrough with the publication of his horror and

Bradbury admired other writer s techniques and made them his own tools that he
would use to express his personal vision of science fiction. Many of Bradbury s
influences come from a wide range of authors as well as other media such as film,
radio, and theater. Bradbury was directly influenced by Edgar Allen Poe s complex
style which was an influence with both positive and negative effects on his writing.
John Steinbeck also had a large influence on Bradbury. From Steinbeck, Bradbury
learned to be objective and still get all his literary ideas on paper. As he improves
his writing skills Bradbury was also influenced during his years as a writing
apprentice where he had personal relationships with well known authors such as;
Robert Heinlein, Hennery Kuttner, and Leigh Brackett. Brackets emphasis on
discipline helped Bradbury develop work habits that he has maintained throughout his
career. Ray Bradbury appeals to a wider audience then do many other science fiction
writers. During his lifetime Bradbury has written over 500 stories, plays,
screenplays, comic books, and poems. Some of his topics are: magic, horror, and
monsters; rockets, robots, time and space travel; growing up in a Midwestern town
in the 1920 s and growing old in an abandoned Earth colony on Mars. In 1980

An Unpleasant Emotional Experience Of Anxiety, Fear,
And...
Burger (2015) defines anxiety as an unpleasant emotional experience where you
have feelings of worry, panic, fear, and dread . Burger (2015) proposes Sigmund
Freud s three categories of anxiety. The first he proposes is reality anxiety, or
objective anxiety, which is usually experienced when someone feels threatened in the
real world (Burger, 2015). The next anxietyhe suggests is neurotic anxiety. Neurotic
anxiety is experienced when unwanted id impluses are extremely close to breaking
into consciousness (Burger, 2o15). Neurotic anxiety is the type of anxiety that leads
to defense mechanisms. The last type of anxiety discussed is moral anxiety. Moral
anxiety is brought about from the superego in reply to id impluses that disrupt the
superego s moral conduct (Burger, 2015). Moral anxiety is often experienced as guilt.
People often handle anxiety differently. Defense mechanisms are the unconscious
processes that are used when handling anxiety. Coping strategies are conscious
efforts of handling anxiety. There are endless amount of coping strategies. For
example, if you had a bad day at work you may indulge in some of your favorite
candy to help you cope. Burger (2015) suggests three different types of coping
strategies: problem focused, emotion focused, and avoidance strategies. Problem
focused strategies are considered to take care of the problem therefore eliminating the
anxiety. Emotion focused strategies are intended to diminish the emotional distress
that escorts the
The P2P Piracy Prevention Act Attacks Consumers Essay
The P2P Piracy Prevention Act Attacks Consumers
Peer to peer (P2P) networks have had a staggering growth in the past few years.
Since Napster, dozens of P2P networks have been created in its imitation. Due to the
growing accessibility of broadband, which increases the speed of downloads, P2P
networks generate nearly 1.8 billion downloads per month. Popularity and acceptance
is still continually growing.
As many users see P2P software as just file sharing, entertainment industries and other
big companies see it as copyright infringement and stealing from copyright owners
without their rightful authorization or compensation. These companies complain that
P2P file sharing threatens the survival of the industries and believe that there ... Show

Berman proposed a legislation called the Peer to Peer Piracy Prevention Act last year
that ensures that all copyright owners won t face liability for using reasonable,
limited self help to prevent the theft of their works on peer to peer networks such as
Kazaa and Gnutella. The bill says that since no legislation can eliminate the problem
of P2P piracy, the law should allow copyright owners to take action into their own
hands in protecting and preventing infringements on their products. With this act,
Congress can help manage problematic issues of the market without interfering with
the system itself. Furthermore, this bill would allow copyright owners to enter and
look into a P2P user s computer to the same extent that any other P2P user is able to,
and allows the owners to take limited measures to prevent and stop the distribution of
their copyrighted property.
The problem with this bill is that it s unethical. Swapping or sharing files with
another user is not illegal. It is the act of sharing copywritten files without
authorization or rightful compensation to the owners that makes it illegal.
However, giving rights to copyright owners to look into P2P users computer files is
an invasion of privacy and that is illegal too. Berman tries to say that the P2P
Piracy Prevention Act primarily allows owners to retrieve or protect their property
much like a bicycle owner grabbing his bike from a thief s yard . But nonetheless this
act is basically asking
Bilingual Education On The Brain
Bilingual education to most is just taking a Spanish, German, or French class, but it s
much more than that. Bilingual education involves teaching two languages at once,
one being a native, and the other being a secondary language. With varying amounts
of both languages being taught they should be used in accordance to help with the
learning process (Bilingual Education). Bilingual education programs allow students
to maintain their own cultures, while identifying the cultures, languages, heritages,
and identities of others (Robinson). Bilingual education in youth is notable because
of its positive effects on the brain, the long term benefits of being bilingual, and for a

Companies today serve increasingly diverse, multilingual populations. Managers
know that multilingual consumers are a huge commercial force and represent a
significant opportunity for future business. Foreign language skills can be

Grant Penrod Why We Hate The Smart Kids Summary
Grant Penrod, a former student of Arizona State University, writes a piece about
how the smart kids get ostracized called Anti Intellectualism: Why We Hate the
Smart Kids. There are smart kids on every school across the nation. These kids are
usually not athletic or popular, but some are. Penrod wrote about the non athletic
and non popular smart kids. These nerds are being looked at negatively. They are
getting unpopular stereotypes. It isn t cool to be smart anymore. It s looked at as
if you don t need to be smart to be successful. People are more worried about the
money then the philosophies you learn and develop while you are in school. Penrod

The Importance Of Physical Activity In Education
Ask any teacher what the most valuable part to their day is and they will say time.
There is truly never enough time in the day to complete all the necessary tasks
brought forward by the educational system. Teachers are urged to maximize their
teaching time as much as possible with little to none physical activity breaks. Even
though there are many unanswered questions about physical activity, the one that
continues to present itself is, what is considered the optimal amount of time for
physical activity during the school day? In the current study where Howie, Schatz,
and Pate investigate physical activity and academic achievement, findings have
suggested that when physical activity breaks are incorporated into the school day,
there is an improvement in cognitive ability, however they did not state the amount of
time spent on physical activity (Howie, Schatz, Pate,2015). Although these findings
are quite convincing, educators are still expected involve more curriculum that
focuses on standardized testing and decrease physical activity breaks throughout the
school day. Next topic to be discussed, is research regarding physical activity and
those with developmental disabilities. While this research is rare, finding by recent
researchers reveal that children with disabilities engaged in more physical activity,
than their regular education peers. As stated in the study, the current recommendation
for school aged children is for them to accumulate at least 60 minutes
Comparison s The Trolley Problem By Judith Jarvis
Thomson
The article, The Trolley Problem , written by Judith Jarvis Thomson, poses an
intense ethical argument. Within the reading, she addresses two of Philippa Foot s
imaginary situations. The first involves a trolley with faulty brakes, and if the
driver should flip the switch to kill five people or just one person. The second is a
similar situation; should a doctor let five patients die or operate on one patient to
take his organs without consent? I will argue that it is not morally permissible to
turn the trolley or to operate without consent. This article starts with an interesting
scenario. A trolley is speeding down its tracks. As the trolley is coming around a
turn, the driver sees five men working on the tracks. Luckily, the driver of the trolley
has the option to flip a switch to make the trolley turn to the right onto a separate
section of the tracks. It is not that simple, though. On the right spur of the tracks, one
man is working. Philippa Foothas arranged that no matter which way the driver
turns, it would be impossible for the workmen to get off the track safely and on
time to avoid being run down by the trolley (Thomson 1395). As a first instinct, the
driver tries to slam on the trolley s brakes to avoid hitting any of the workmen.
Unfortunately, the brakes on the trolley do not work. Thus, the driver is left facing
this situation: should he continue going straight or should he quickly turn the
trolley to the right? If he stays straight, he will continue hurdling towards the five
helpless workmen, inevitably hitting and killing all five of them. If he flips to
switch to turn the trolley right, the driver will undoubtedly hit the lone workman
and take his life (Thomson 1395). Now here is the real catch of the situation: the
reader is the trolley driver. It is up to the reader of this article to decide what route to
take. Would the reader, in the driver s situation, keep the trolley straight, or turn it to
the right? Thomson explains that when she gave such a hypothetical case to several
people, the consensus was overwhelmingly harmonious. Many readers believed that it
was morally permissible for you to turn the trolley (Thomson 1395). Some say that it
is completely necessary to turn the
Three Skeleton Key Ending Essay
Le Gleo, Itchoua, and I backed up against the wall. I turned my head to look at the
ghastly horror written on the faces of my mates. I tentatively stepped forward
going towards the door where the rats were gnawing away on the glass. We didn t

My fingers brushed against the wall. When I turned around, I was staring at a small

I am employed as a Maintenance Manager at the Strand Palace Hotel in London. I
am responsible for the day to day maintenance of the whole building, also
refurbishments of guest rooms and corridors, public areas and back of house areas.
I am working with a team of 15 technicians and 4 shift engineers, all with different
skills. Every first and last hour of my day will involve planning tasks to be
completed, ranging from fixing any breakdowns of machinery to hanging a mirror in
the admin office. As we are in the hospitality and leisure industry guest/customer

Using this schedule I allocated tasks to the appropriate technician on each day and
always have at least one technician on PPM. We also have service contractors for
the up keeping of catering equipment. As mentioned before on the first and last
hour of the day is when the planning and allocating takes place. On the last hour, I
will walk around public areas, back of house and note anything specific that
requires our attention. Then from the schedule for areas, I will start allocating
technicians there tasks in line with their capabilities, skill set, experience and the
next day s staffing levels. Then using the hotels booking system I will check for
occupancy levels and room availabilities to compile a list of rooms for PPM. I will
then compile lists for each technician. The next morning, in the first hour of my day
the lists together with copies of check sheets, I will pass them on the relevant
technicians. If there is anything out of norm I will take extra time with a technician
to go the task to see its successful completion. Then when appropriate I will go round
and visit technicians and monitor their progress. In most cases the technicians has
completed the giving task and will visit the maintenance office to leave the complete
check sheet in my in tray.

Deduction In Sherlock Holmes
Sherlock Holmes is one of the most popular detectives in world history. His
adventures with the wonderful Dr. Watson have taken him to many places around
england. But not only has he traveled around the world, but he has traveled around in
time too. Sherlock holmes is even more popular that when his first stories by Sir
Arthur Conan Doylewere released. Today, there are new spin of books staring the
detective, a multitude of movies based off his adventures, but nothing can
compare to the fact that he is the spotlight in his own Netflix series. Sherlock,
produced by BBC, is an incredibly smart show for everyone. Taking place in
modern day england, this show s countless plot twists and endless suspense keeps
viewers on the edge of their seat the entire episode. Seeing as it has been about 130
years since the first book was created, this modern day evolution of Sherlock Holmes
is a vastly different character from the sherlock from the original novels. There are

Sherlock using the art of deduction can be commonly found within his stories.
Weather he is solving the murder mystery of the century, of figuring out what Dr.
Watson had for breakfast, he is constantly using it. Though deduction is a big part
of his investigative process, Sherlock doesn t only use his mind. The Sherlock
from Sherlock has access to much more resources such as DNA testing, super
powerful microscopes, and access to all sorts of substances, than the sherlock from
the original novels, and only for one reason. Sherlock takes place in modern day
whereas the original novels were written and take place in the 1800s. For that reason,
the sherlock from the show can use different techniques for solving crimes than the
Sherlock from the books by Sir Arthur Conan
Women s Work Setting Environment
Women around the world have not been treated equally in a work setting
environment. In some places women aren t even allowed to work, but in our
nation the United States of America this is not our scenario. The scenario in the
United States of America is that women are allowed to work, but unfortunately
women are not being treated the same manner in which a man is treated in a work
setting. Women go through a lot of obstacles in a workplace, this should not be
happening at this time in date. We as a society tend to say we have grown and
prosper and that this is the land of opportunity, but how can such a statement be
said if women are not given the same opportunity as men are. In a work setting
women tend to be paid much less the man is paid for doing the same exact job.
Then because women are paid less its affects them in their daily life. Women also
face the difficulties of not being promoted as often as men are in a work setting.
After facing such difficulties in a work setting they still have issues of sexual
harassmentto deal with. Then, if women choose to become pregnant, they have
another difficulty to face. Overall the worst obstacle and what I feel is the one that
starts all of this is the challenge of women being hired for a job. The only reason why
women are not treated the same is a simple observation if a person is maleor female
makes all the difference in a work setting.
Essay about My Brilliant Racing Career
As I enter my last semester of high school, I have to starting thinking about making
a plan for the future. The problem for me was actually making a decision that
would be right for me, I could not decide what I wanted to do until a few weeks
ago. But I finally made my decision about what I think I will enjoy doing, and
making a career out of it. There are many paths I can and could take, but the
automotive area is the one that sticks out to me. The two technician schools I have
chosen are UTI, Universal Technician Institute, and WyoTech University, both of
which are tech schools and will help get started. But that is the path I have chosen to
go for, and I am going to stick with it.

That is why I have chosen to go into the automotive world.
In order to be like my grandpa, I have to start learning more about how he got to
where he is. The first step for me to take is going to an automotive technician
school. I found a few places such as UTI (Universal Technician Institute), and
Wyotech University which are both great places to get started. My plan so far is to
take UTI s 51 week starting program in order to get me going. After that I will be
going to their main school in Charlotte, North Carolina. Once I m there I will take a
racing technician class which is around 15 weeks long, and that puts me right into
the seat of racing. After researching some more I found out that if I am in the top 5
students of the racing program, I get the opportunity to be picked up and hired by
an actual racing company such as Porsche, Ford, Mercedes, Chevrolet and maybe
even McLaren, and get to work for them which would be an honor. But even to get
that opportunity I have to start somewhere, and I feel like UTI is a good place for
me to start. At UTI the learning environment looks like a collage campus from the
outside, but on the inside it is one big garage full of all types of cars. The teachers
are all certified automotive technicians and master mechanics; they will teach me
everything I will need to know. Most of the students are like I am; we all share a
burning passion and love for cars, and we all strive to gain more knowledge about
them.
Clustering Methods
B. Descriptive techniques
Clustering It involves identifying clusters and grouping similar objects together in
each cluster. The main focus is on evaluating and implementing Partitioned (K means)
algorithms, other clustering methods include Hierarchical (CURE, BIRCH), Grid
based (STING, WaveCluster), Model based (Cobweb), and Density based
(DBSCAN). Author [31] presented work to enhance the performance of one of the
most well known pop ular clustering algorithms (K mean) to produce near optimal
decisions for telcoschurn prediction and retention problems. Due to its performance
in clustering massive data sets. The final clustering result of the k mean clustering

Summarization Summarization is abstraction of data. It is set of relevant task and
gives an overview of data. For example, long distance race can be summarized total
minutes, seconds and height.
Association Rule Association is the most popular data mining techniques and fined
most frequent item set. Association strives to discover patterns in data which are
based upon relationships between items in the same transaction. Because of its
nature, association is sometimes referred to as relation technique . This method of
data mining is utilized within the market based analysis in order to identify a set, or
sets of products that consumers often purchase at the same time
Sequence discovery Sequence discovery is the identification of associations over
times or pattern over time. Sequential pattern mining has become the challenging task
in data mining due to complexity. Most common tools are statistics and set theory
[32].
Visualization Visualization refers the presentation of data so that users can view
complex patterns. Visualization involves mapping of the data into some types of
drawing or graphical objects. The visualization also helps in acquiring knowledge
more comprehensively and most important, very quickly. Data can be presented in
visual form, such as curves, surfaces like graphs. Data
The Scriptures Of Hindu Culture And Philosophy
The Bhagavad Gita or simply Gita, conceivably the most recognized of all nonpareil
scriptures of Hindu culture and philosophy, is universally perceived as one of the
world s ethical literatures. The Sanskrit title, Bhagavad Gita, is commonly construed
as Song of the Lord. The Gita is incorporated into the sixth book of the longest Hindu
classic, Mahabharata, although it is known to be a subsequent accretion to the epic,
which stands on its own distinction. The ideology encapsulated in the Bhagavad Gita,
doing action with detachment from the consequences is relevant and vital to our
understanding of way of life even in the contemporary western world. The teachings
of the Gita assist people to manage their states of mental agitation, desires and
emotions which will lead them to take right decisions followed by right actions. This
certainly explains its immense recognition both in the East and the West.
Distinguished philosophers, intellectuals, and scientists have conceded that the
Bhagavad Gita presents profound wisdom. Gandhi once proclaimed:
When doubts haunt me, when disappointments stare me in the face, and I see not
one ray of hope on the horizon, I turn to Bhagavad Gita and find a verse to comfort
me; and I immediately begin to smile in the midst of overwhelming sorrow. Those
who meditate on the Gita will derive fresh joy and new meanings from it every day.
The Gita is an insightful response to an abiding human quandary of discerning right
from wrong. Human
Essay on Theodore Bundy
Theodore Bundy
One of the most famous killers of all time, Theodore Bundy vented his rage on
women, mostly college girls, all the while maintaining the facade of a perfectly
normal, intelligent, model citizen. His traveling ways, clever tactics, and thorough
body disposal methods make it difficult to even say how many women Bundy killed
during his reign, but he was definitely one of the most prolific and frightening serial
killers of all time.
Bundy s rampage most likely began with Kathy Devine, 15, a hitchhiker who
disappeared on November 25th,1973 and found on December 6th. She was
sodomized, strangled, and her throat was cut. Lynda Ann Healy soon disappeared
from her basement bedroom. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But Bundy s luck finally ran out on August 16th, 1975 when Bundy was spooked
by and fled from a squad car around Salt Lake. Arrested for possession of burglary
tools and released, it wasn t long before police noticed the similarities between Bundy
and a man who had attempted to abduct Carol DeRonch previously. Bundy was son
arrested for the attack, tried, and convicted.
It was fairly obvious at this point that Bundy was the man responsible for the killings
in the north, and when he was transferred to the Garfield county Jail in Colorado to
await trial for the murder of Caryn Campbell. To the embarrassment of the police,
he escaped out a second story law library window. Bundy took to the woods and
eluded the law for a few days until he was recaptured only to escape again from the
Garfield County Jail on December 30th, with much more drastic results. He made
his way to Tallahassee, Florida and settled near the Florida St. campus. While in
Florida, Bundy killed several more women, including a horrifying blitz style attack in
a sorority house on the Florida St. campus that killed two young women, and the
abduction of Kimberly Ann Leach, 12, from her school. She was found about two
months later in a nearby state park.
Leach would be the final victim. Bundy was arrested for the final time in Pensacola,
Florida after struggling

Attached is the detailed chart showing the interplay between these two probabilities (Figure 3). It also shows two nuanced inputs i.e. a)That for almost all cases below 50% probability of lease being granted we are better of not exercising the option to buy the development, and, b)That given that we have a favourable lease decision, we are better off on average developing the resort, but in the absence of a certainty on lease decision, its unclear whether we should exercise out option or not in the first place. As our payoff estimates are changing favourability of options too close to the base case scenario, we cannot make sound recommendations at this time. A slight change in the probability of the lease being granted or our ability to develop or good reputation reverses our optimal decision. Consequently we should have less confidence in our recommendation and attempt to gain more information or time. It is to be noted that solely getting a higher certainty on the lease decision may help us provide a clear recommendation, as this uncertainty is pivotal in our choice of decision. Sensitivity Table 4. Extending the Option The key reason for Dolores to consider this as a good option is that it eliminates the uncertainty of the ruling on the lease issue.

Everyone on the bus was excited for school. All the teachers were outside the school holding up signs by the doors waiting for their class. I was trying to find the blue sign because that was the color of my bus tag. When I finally found my teacher she took us inside to class. We started the day by sitting in a circle in the middle of the room and introducing our selfs. Then we found our seats and put our backpacks, and lunches away. • 9. The Importance Of Faith In The Confessions There is a reoccurring theme throughout The Confessions where Puritans seem entirely burdened with guilt, typically due to their wavering faith or belief in God. It often seems that in times of adversity, they are unable to feel God s presence and their misery completely clouds and obstructs their faith. Many of them also feel so out of touch with God, they feel they are undeserving of his mercy . Some even go further and admit to being afraid of God s wrath, as Joanna Still s confession demonstrates; And from Jeremiah though has forsaken me for I am weary of repenting and so she thought God would destroy her. Hmong clan names are equivalent to American last names. First names identify people and last names identify clans. The 18 clans provide life time membership and ongoing material and spiritual support to their members from birth to death. Newborns are given the father s clan name, which they cannot change. For that reason, Hmong women retain their clan name when they get married (Moua, 1995). The foundation of Hmong life is marriage and family (Millett, 2002). An ancient ritual requires the groom to pay a bride price, a negotiated sum of money paid to the bride s parents. Hmong newlyweds live with the husband s parents until they have two or more children. However, Hmong culture expects the last born married son, his wife, and children to permanently live with, support, and care for his parents and grandparents until their death. Unfortunately, time honored Hmong traditions are challenged by American culture. For example, there is conflict between Hmong Christians and Hmong Animists. Animists sacrifice animals to worship spirits; they believe that all living things have spirits (Brittan, 1997). Hmong Christians worship God and condemn animal sacrifice. As a result, Christianity altered traditional Hmong rituals and ceremonies. For instance, Christianity eliminated the payment of a bride price

These feelings lead me to incorporate Polaroid s in my personal media artifact. And since I am in the Media Production program at Ryerson University, I found it appropriate to apply what I learned digitally in Photoshop to represent myself in an assemblage of hanging Polaroid s. Corkboards are commonly used for reminders, organizing and possibly posting things we like on them. These elements often come into play when I try to start a project. I often need to plan in advance but even when I try to stay organized, I am scattered much like the board. The texts are what I used to be inspired when I am creating something of my own. And like many aspects in life, the Polaroid s and board have imperfections, but it is these imperfections build character. When hung together they form a tapestry that tells a story of my life. I will now explain part of that story by analyzing three of these texts from my collage by applying key concepts commonly studied in popular culture. Habitus, described by sociologist Pierre Bourdieu is the manifestation of culture through developed habits and predispositions. Habitus can be thought of as the procedural memory one develops when one improves in a sport by practicing it for many years (as cited in Cultural Capital, 2016). • 29. Essay on Analysis of Killings by Andre Dubus The major theme of Andre Dubus Killing,s is how far someone would go for the person they love. It is important to note the title of the story is killings and not killers, for the reasoning that the story does not just focus on two deaths or two murderers but rather the death of marriage, friendship, youth, and overall, trust. Richard Strout was married to Mary Ann, who was most likely fed up with his hot temperedness that always seemed to get him into fist fights. She separated from her husband and while they were going through the process of divorce, she began a new relationship with Frank Fowler, killing all hope of reconciling her marriage with Strout. In return Strout became enraged not only in losing his wife, but their sons, who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Know what he ll do? Five at the most (Dubus 97). Not being able to move on and receive closure and feeling as if the law had failed to execute justice, Fowler is pushed not only by his wife s prodding but also his love for his son to seek his own version of justice; which is ultimately revenge. With the help of his best friend Trottier, Fowler was able to plan out a seemingly flawless murder. Both men tend to work late nights; Trottier was a bartender, so Fowler meeting with him after hours was an easy alibi. The hardest part was getting Strout to a secluded place, which they were able to do by conning him at first, saying they had bought him a ticket and wanted him out of their lives so that everyone could move on stating, It s the trial. We can t go through that, my wife and me. You re leaving. We ve got you a ticket. (Dubus 105) After leaving Strout s car at an apartment building in Boston, they lead Strout to a pre dug hole in a wooded area where Fowler kills him. The gun kicked in Matt s hand, and the explosion of the shot surrounded him...Richard Strout, squirming on his belly pushed himself towards the woods. Then Matt went to him and shot him once in the back of the head (106). In this story, Dubus encourages the reader to decide the moral standing and responsibility of each man and the basic instinct to protect ones family. At the end of the story, Matt tells Ruth what happened, but it is clear that he feels deep
  • 30. Diesel Emission Regulations Are EPA Diesel Emission regulations regulating Truck owners? As a result of EPA regulations, today s diesel engines are more efficient than ever before seen in large and midsized trucks. Certain regulations restrict truck owners from using certain truck models, because of excess diesel emission. Increasing drastically as technology improves, cars and trucks produce less and less diesel exhausts and emissions. But because diesel engines can operate for 30 years or more, millions of older, dirtier engines are still in use, (Epa.Gov). Reducing exposure to diesel exhaust from these engines is especially important for the preservation of human health and the environment. According to the EPA, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Volkswagen company put sensors in the emission component, so when tested, the examiner sees that the car meets emission standards. But because the sensors are to meet U.S emission standards, the car itself can be modified to ignore the sensor s override and make the car believe it was in use. TFL motors was curious about the scam, so they decided to put a Jetta TDI turbo diesel on an AWD Dyno, to confuse the car into thinking it s on the street, not being checked for emissions. Being in emissions mode, the AWD dyno lost horsepower and torque, but without the sensors active the car produced excess diesel exhaust, going over the EPA regulated limit. The car itself was able to perform at a higher level without the sensors active, proving reason to hide the fact that excess exhaust is produced. Certain companies realize the regulations hold their products back, so to promote the fuel efficiency and or horsepower of the car, they would gladly hide the fact that their cars are emitting excess diesel exhaust. Some ways to prevent excess exhaust would be to install EGR coolers, or to buy tuners for your engine s valves. But many professional truckers tend to stick with rolling coal. Rolling coal can happen by making a smoke switch, or removing emission controls on truck models, and adding a tuner to produce fine smoke build ups. Diesel exhaust is actually less harmful then a

  • 32. Hrm Brunei vs Other Western Country Introduction Employees are indispensible to an organization. Personnel management, now known as human resource management (HRM), ensures that an organization produces maximum output with the greatest efficiency. The role of HRM covers selecting and hiring the right employee, training and retaining talent, wage dispensation to maintaining employee relations (Nankervis et al, 2011). In this essay, we will be looking into a case study of HRM in Brunei and will cover three topics. Firstly we explore how culture affects the way a country runs its economy, its legal and political system, and how they adapt to technology. Next, we discuss how HRM allows individual employees to acclimatize themselves to technical differences in an organization. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some interviewees suggested that cohesive social relationships in Brunei society had influence on work connection in the workplace. Although the impact was moderated by the HRM practices, particularly in employment, there is a strong need for Human Rights Legislation to be firmly enforced in Brunei in order to create inclusive workplaces that are more diverse and respectful. Krama amp; Syed (2012) stated that staff not in managerial roles was not familiar with the availability of the General Order (GO) and State Circulars (SC) as the regulations were poorly imposed. In the beginning only the keeps were changed to stone and kept the same square layout (18). Eventually it was found that the square corners were a weak spot in the design and changed to a rounded profile (Jarrow 29). Later the wooden walls were changed to stone. The new curtain walls were much larger. They were often between fifteen and thirty five feet tall, and six to nine feet thick. Though some were built much larger (19). The bill says that since no legislation can eliminate the problem of P2P piracy, the law should allow copyright owners to take action into their own hands in protecting and preventing infringements on their products. With this act, Congress can help manage problematic issues of the market without interfering with the system itself. Furthermore, this bill would allow copyright owners to enter and look into a P2P user s computer to the same extent that any other P2P user is able to, and allows the owners to take limited measures to prevent and stop the distribution of their copyrighted property. There is truly never enough time in the day to complete all the necessary tasks brought forward by the educational system. Teachers are urged to maximize their teaching time as much as possible with little to none physical activity breaks. Even though there are many unanswered questions about physical activity, the one that continues to present itself is, what is considered the optimal amount of time for physical activity during the school day? In the current study where Howie, Schatz, and Pate investigate physical activity and academic achievement, findings have suggested that when physical activity breaks are incorporated into the school day, there is an improvement in cognitive ability, however they did not state the amount of time spent on physical activity (Howie, Schatz, Pate,2015). Next topic to be discussed, is research regarding physical activity and those with developmental disabilities. While this research is rare, finding by recent researchers reveal that children with disabilities engaged in more physical activity, than their regular education peers. As stated in the study, the current recommendation for school aged children is for them to accumulate at least 60 minutes
  • 43. Comparison s The Trolley Problem By Judith Jarvis Thomson The article, The Trolley Problem , written by Judith Jarvis Thomson, poses an intense ethical argument. Within the reading, she addresses two of Philippa Foot s imaginary situations. The first involves a trolley with faulty brakes, and if the driver should flip the switch to kill five people or just one person. The second is a similar situation; should a doctor let five patients die or operate on one patient to take his organs without consent? I will argue that it is not morally permissible to turn the trolley or to operate without consent. This article starts with an interesting scenario. A trolley is speeding down its tracks. As the trolley is coming around a turn, the driver sees five men working on the tracks. Luckily, the driver of the trolley has the option to flip a switch to make the trolley turn to the right onto a separate section of the tracks. It is not that simple, though. On the right spur of the tracks, one man is working. Philippa Foothas arranged that no matter which way the driver turns, it would be impossible for the workmen to get off the track safely and on time to avoid being run down by the trolley (Thomson 1395). As a first instinct, the driver tries to slam on the trolley s brakes to avoid hitting any of the workmen. Unfortunately, the brakes on the trolley do not work. Thus, the driver is left facing this situation: should he continue going straight or should he quickly turn the trolley to the right? If he stays straight, he will continue hurdling towards the five helpless workmen, inevitably hitting and killing all five of them. If he flips to switch to turn the trolley right, the driver will undoubtedly hit the lone workman and take his life (Thomson 1395). Now here is the real catch of the situation: the reader is the trolley driver. It is up to the reader of this article to decide what route to take. Would the reader, in the driver s situation, keep the trolley straight, or turn it to the right? Thomson explains that when she gave such a hypothetical case to several people, the consensus was overwhelmingly harmonious. Many readers believed that it was morally permissible for you to turn the trolley (Thomson 1395). Some say that it is completely necessary to turn the

Overall the worst obstacle and what I feel is the one that starts all of this is the challenge of women being hired for a job. The only reason why women are not treated the same is a simple observation if a person is maleor female makes all the difference in a work setting.

The problem for me was actually making a decision that would be right for me, I could not decide what I wanted to do until a few weeks ago. But I finally made my decision about what I think I will enjoy doing, and making a career out of it. There are many paths I can and could take, but the automotive area is the one that sticks out to me. The two technician schools I have chosen are UTI, Universal Technician Institute, and WyoTech University, both of which are tech schools and will help get started. But that is the path I have chosen to go for, and I am going to stick with it. Cars and other types of automobiles have always ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That is why I have chosen to go into the automotive world. In order to be like my grandpa, I have to start learning more about how he got to where he is. The first step for me to take is going to an automotive technician school. I found a few places such as UTI (Universal Technician Institute), and Wyotech University which are both great places to get started. My plan so far is to take UTI s 51 week starting program in order to get me going. After that I will be going to their main school in Charlotte, North Carolina. Once I m there I will take a racing technician class which is around 15 weeks long, and that puts me right into the seat of racing. After researching some more I found out that if I am in the top 5 students of the racing program, I get the opportunity to be picked up and hired by an actual racing company such as Porsche, Ford, Mercedes, Chevrolet and maybe even McLaren, and get to work for them which would be an honor. But even to get that opportunity I have to start somewhere, and I feel like UTI is a good place for me to start. At UTI the learning environment looks like a collage campus from the outside, but on the inside it is one big garage full of all types of cars. The teachers are all certified automotive technicians and master mechanics; they will teach me everything I will need to know. Most of the students are like I am; we all share a burning passion and love for cars, and we all strive to gain more knowledge about them.
  • 49. Clustering Methods B. Descriptive techniques Clustering It involves identifying clusters and grouping similar objects together in each cluster. The main focus is on evaluating and implementing Partitioned (K means) algorithms, other clustering methods include Hierarchical (CURE, BIRCH), Grid based (STING, WaveCluster), Model based (Cobweb), and Density based (DBSCAN). Author [31] presented work to enhance the performance of one of the most well known pop ular clustering algorithms (K mean) to produce near optimal decisions for telcoschurn prediction and retention problems. Due to its performance in clustering massive data sets. The final clustering result of the k mean clustering algorithm greatly depends upon the correctness of the initial centroids, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Random k mean initialization generally leads k mean to converge to local minima i.e. inacceptable clustering results are produced. Summarization Summarization is abstraction of data. It is set of relevant task and gives an overview of data. For example, long distance race can be summarized total minutes, seconds and height. Association Rule Association is the most popular data mining techniques and fined most frequent item set. Association strives to discover patterns in data which are based upon relationships between items in the same transaction. Because of its nature, association is sometimes referred to as relation technique . This method of data mining is utilized within the market based analysis in order to identify a set, or sets of products that consumers often purchase at the same time Sequence discovery Sequence discovery is the identification of associations over times or pattern over time. Sequential pattern mining has become the challenging task in data mining due to complexity. Most common tools are statistics and set theory [32]. Visualization Visualization refers the presentation of data so that users can view complex patterns. Visualization involves mapping of the data into some types of drawing or graphical objects. The visualization also helps in acquiring knowledge more comprehensively and most important, very quickly. Data can be presented in visual form, such as curves, surfaces like graphs. Data

The Scriptures Of Hindu Culture And Philosophy The Bhagavad Gita or simply Gita, conceivably the most recognized of all nonpareil scriptures of Hindu culture and philosophy, is universally perceived as one of the world s ethical literatures. The Sanskrit title, Bhagavad Gita, is commonly construed as Song of the Lord. The Gita is incorporated into the sixth book of the longest Hindu classic, Mahabharata, although it is known to be a subsequent accretion to the epic, which stands on its own distinction. The ideology encapsulated in the Bhagavad Gita, doing action with detachment from the consequences is relevant and vital to our understanding of way of life even in the contemporary western world. The teachings of the Gita assist people to manage their states of mental agitation, desires and emotions which will lead them to take right decisions followed by right actions. This certainly explains its immense recognition both in the East and the West. Distinguished philosophers, intellectuals, and scientists have conceded that the Bhagavad Gita presents profound wisdom. Gandhi once proclaimed: When doubts haunt me, when disappointments stare me in the face, and I see not one ray of hope on the horizon, I turn to Bhagavad Gita and find a verse to comfort me; and I immediately begin to smile in the midst of overwhelming sorrow. Those who meditate on the Gita will derive fresh joy and new meanings from it every day. The Gita is an insightful response to an abiding human quandary of discerning right from wrong. Human

Essay on Theodore Bundy Theodore Bundy One of the most famous killers of all time, Theodore Bundy vented his rage on women, mostly college girls, all the while maintaining the facade of a perfectly normal, intelligent, model citizen. His traveling ways, clever tactics, and thorough body disposal methods make it difficult to even say how many women Bundy killed during his reign, but he was definitely one of the most prolific and frightening serial killers of all time. Bundy s rampage most likely began with Kathy Devine, 15, a hitchhiker who disappeared on November 25th,1973 and found on December 6th. She was sodomized, strangled, and her throat was cut. Lynda Ann Healy soon disappeared from her basement bedroom. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But Bundy s luck finally ran out on August 16th, 1975 when Bundy was spooked by and fled from a squad car around Salt Lake. Arrested for possession of burglary tools and released, it wasn t long before police noticed the similarities between Bundy and a man who had attempted to abduct Carol DeRonch previously. Bundy was son arrested for the attack, tried, and convicted. It was fairly obvious at this point that Bundy was the man responsible for the killings in the north, and when he was transferred to the Garfield county Jail in Colorado to await trial for the murder of Caryn Campbell. To the embarrassment of the police, he escaped out a second story law library window. Bundy took to the woods and eluded the law for a few days until he was recaptured only to escape again from the Garfield County Jail on December 30th, with much more drastic results. He made his way to Tallahassee, Florida and settled near the Florida St. campus. While in Florida, Bundy killed several more women, including a horrifying blitz style attack in a sorority house on the Florida St. campus that killed two young women, and the abduction of Kimberly Ann Leach, 12, from her school. She was found about two months later in a nearby state park. Leach would be the final victim. Bundy was arrested for the final time in Pensacola, Florida after struggling
