The Play Destiny Without Being Confused
Imagine trying to finish algebra homework and not knowing where to even start. That is what it
is like to play the video game Destiny without knowing how to play first. This video game is a
very large and complicated game to start. Going into the game blind can leave someone confused
and angry. This paper is going to explain how to efficiently play Destiny without being confused.
When someone first loads up Destiny, they must choose from three characters to begin the game.
There are three character slots as well, so they can make on of each kind of character or three of
the same kind of character. The possibilities are almost endless. The three characters to choose
from are a titan, a warlock, and a hunter. All three characters are really... Show more content on

That person can then level up this vendor by completing bounties, quests, playing the crucible,
completing strikes, or completing quests that are assigned to the player throughout the game.
The xp that levels up this vendor is called vanguard reputation. Strikes are just missions with a
bigger boss to kill at the end, and the crucible is just player vs player kind of like Halo. The level
system in destiny is kind of weird but simple. The player must race to level twenty to equip
better armor such as legendary and exotic armor and weapons. When the player hits level twenty,
they can no longer level up from doing bounties and completing missions, but they can now level
up their light by putting on legendary or exotic armor. Weapons do not count towards your light
level, so it does not matter what weapons the player has equipped; however, it is best to use
legendary or exotic weapons over any type of blue weapon because they do a ton more damage to
enemies. Once the player reaches light level twenty six, they get access to the normal Vault of
Glass raid. When the player has acquired the raid helmet, gauntlets, chest piece, and boots, they can
then upgrade that armor by turning in bounties while the gear is equipped. Once the player has
obtained the highest light possible from completing the Vault of Glass, which is thirty, they can
then get access to the Crota s End

Similarities Between Redon And David Hockney
Artists often use their personal perceptions as a stimulus for their artwork. They are able to use
their work to express a certain viewpoint they may have on a subject. Well renowned artists, Odilon
Redon and David Hockney have both manipulated their artistic abilities to express their perceptions
through their work with their art movements. Redon is a renowned 18th 19th century French
symbolist artist whose works revolve around his dreams, fantasy and imagination, The Cyclops
(1914), being one of his most recognised paintings. David Hockney is a painter and photographer
and is considered one of the most influential British artists of the 20th century, a prime example of
his work being, A Bigger Splash (1966.) Both artworks reflect the artist s personal perceptions and
contain similarities and differences with their movements, intentions and use of stylistic features.
At the beginning of his career, Redon s works were exclusively in black and white in
lithographic prints and charcoal. His works consisted of a monochromatic colour scheme
representing symbolism in his unusual dreamlike creations, called noirs. In an interview, Redon
stated that his noirs are his most personal expressions. These works were a product of his creative
imagination of depictions of his knowledge and perception on evolution theories, presented by
Charles Darwin at the time. The noirs were also a reflection on his pessimism and melancholy,
particularly as a child, and a representation of how he views the world. Contradictory to his early
works, Redon transfigured into non naturalistic colour themed pastels and oil paintings. Many of
these oeuvres were abstract, generally constructed of an ethereal chromatic background with a focal
subject and an overall hazy appeal.
The Cyclops is a versatile example of Redon s work as it is an oil painting with noir themes. The
artwork illustrates a mountain and rocky landscape, with a Cyclops creature emerging from behind
the tall mountain in the background of the scenario. Slightly off centre to the right there is a naked
woman who appears to be sleeping peacefully amongst the abstract plantation on the hill. The focal
point of the painting is the cyclops, and its large eye that is

The American Dream and the Roaring Twenties
The 1920 s was knows as the Roaring Twenties or the Jazz Age because of all the dramatic
political and social change, more people lived in cities rather than farms, and the nation s wealth
doubled between 1920 and 1929. There were many new technological innovations and many factors
that made the United States the place to be to find the American Dream . The 1920 s were known
as the Roaring Twenties or The Jazz Age because of many things. The roaring twenties was a
different time because of all the different things happening in the time period. The 1920 s in the
United States, called roaring because of the different and new types of popular culture coming into
the style that decade ( Roaring Twenties ). The movie industry skyrocketed in the 1920swith the
growth of theaters being built downtown and in Hollywood. Silent films gradually came to be
replaced by talkies , which were films that had sound, in the late 20s. Some more innovations are;
visual art and architecture, radio, music, dance, fashion, literature, and intellectual movements.
There were many more innovations that made the 1920 s Roaring but one of the biggest changes
was the automobile. The 1920 s were known as the Roaring Twenties or The Jazz Age continued.

The War On Drugs And Its Effects On Society
The War on Drugs is a deep rooted controversial campaign of prohibition and military aid that has
been disputed for many years. There are constant debates as to whether there will ever be a viable
solution to the problem. However, as we continue to pursue the war on drugs, it has become
increasingly evident that winning the war seems to be an impossible task. Drugprohibitionand the
undertaking of the war on drugs have stirred much controversy over its moral and logical
implications. While there are many drugs that exist that are unhealthy when abused, it has
become apparent that the drug policies in the United States, as well as many parts of the world,
are inconsistent and oppressive. Ironically, drug laws were initially created for the good of
society, but it has become increasingly clear that drug laws and our undertaking of the drug war
have only served to cause problems. The current war on drugs has led to devastating effects on
society both economically and socially. Violence and corruption have subjugated throughout the
United States, Mexico and many other parts of the world. Additionally, drug prohibition efforts
have had very little impact on the supply of illegal drugs and have had little to no success in
reducing the demand for illegal drugs. The war on drugs, which is fueled by corruption and
propaganda, needs to come to an end for the betterment of society. Drug prohibition has not always
been accepted in society as it is today. In fact, there

General Practice Attorneys
The first step to planning and organizing a law firm is identifying your practice niche(s). This is
important because it is the foundation for everything you will have to do down the line.
Attorneys can have either a specific specialization or a general practice. General practice attorneys
handle all different types of cases. Because different areas of law are diverse, it is difficult for
general practice attorneys to be skilled in all areas of law. Attorneys who specialize in a
particular area of law generally work on cases only within that area because only attorneys who
focus on this type of work are able to understand the very specific rules and regulations of the
specific practice.
Litigation attorneys refer to the type of attorney that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Knowing your competition will help you distinguish your practice from theirs and it will help you
find opportunities in the legal field. More importantly, analyzing your competition will tell you
more about what your potential clients want. And, knowing what clients want is critical to your
success. As you build your competitive analysis, remember to stay focused on what matters. If you
plan to have a practice that handles only plaintiff s bodily injury cases, don t spend time learning
about the intellectual property practices in your neighborhood. Prepare your competitive analysis
by identifying who are your major competitors, what is the basis of the competition, and how do
your services compare.
Having your firm being spread by referral by a current client, colleagues, bar association, etc. will
be the reason for a large majority of the firm s success. People like to talk, whether they are
talking about the service you provided that they enjoyed or your service that left them wanting to
come back. Word of mouth has a snowball effect, particularly in an age when fast worldwide
communication is common. Your firm can t afford not to consider how quickly its service and
reputation can be badmouthed. This is why marketing the firm s service honestly and with integrity

Raymond Chandler Preaches
Raymond Chandler was known to be one of the most prominent writers that revolved around the
novel writing of detective fiction. Writing crime stories would not be as advanced today without
his literary contribution to American style literature. His most famous novel, The Big Sleep,
established a highly prestigious artistic level; he would go on to forever change how detective
fictionnovels affected society, and how people view society from their own understanding. He
introduced an aspect that would question the approach of his article, The Simple Art of Murder, in
which he preaches and criticizes the authors who he believes are not disciplined enough to write a
mystery novel, by questioning their lack of detail and knowledge about the antagonist and the
insubordinate movement of the plot itself. As he goes on to create one of the most influential
novels of his time, he does not take the time to question his own masterpiece, believing that he
exhibits the appropriate amount of knowledge and detail to write an influential mystery novel. He
practices what he preaches because he is a very determined individual could restore... Show more

With the British genre, it can be rather slow and dull; leveling the reader out and overthinking the
climax each novel is setting up. This descriptive vagueness points to a more pervasive problem in
discussing style. (MacDonald 448 468) Agreeing with MacDonald on his statement, the English
tend to make vagueness points in their stories and never get to the point of the action and making it
seem less interest. With Chandler, he creates many opportunities that gives American literature a
whole new meaning of writing fictional novels. He continues to share his ways of criticizing
English authors through his masterpiece essay, The Simple Art of

The Great Debate
The Great Debate: Science vs Religion
The relationship between religion and science has been a subject to numerous debates, earning its
place in multiple forums and dominating the news. Disputes arise because science and religion are
two very different disciplines. For instance, science is ultimately based on observation of nature
while religion is largely based on faith. Conflicts between the two have existed for hundreds of
years and will continue to do so, because of their different concepts of truth . Nevertheless, reaching
a consensus between science and religion is generally impossible and difficult to achieve, because
each are certain of the validity of their own beliefs.
Undoubtedly, cloning is one of the many disagreements between science and religion that raise
many questions when brought up within society. Articles,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

However, the two do not necessarily repel each other, the meeting point is in a person s
perspective. Religion without science degenerates into superstition, while science without the
help of religion gives rise to materialism and lack of faith. Science, to speak the truth, has only
purified and strengthens the work of religion, whereas religion gives a certain line that prevents
science from becoming inhumane and brutal. The same can be said about the controversial issue
of cloning. Advocates state that cloning improves the overall quality of science and life, while
critics stress over the clone s possible problems dealing with their emotional health and self worth.
There is no simple way to resolve the conflicts between them, and reaching a consensus is
generally impossible. However, the relationship between science and religion can be seen as
partners not enemies, as described by Martin Luther King Jr. when he stated, Science investigates
and religion interprets. Science gives man knowledge which is power. Religion gives man wisdom

Cause And Effect Of Overfishing

The new date for the apocalypse: 2048!!! Why? Because that s when the oceans will be empty of
fish. The cause is disappearance of species due to overfishing, pollution, habitat loss and climate
change. This presentation will only focus on overfishing. This report will explain what overfishing
is, what the causes and consequences are and what you as a person can do to stop this.
Overfishing means that we catch too much of the same type of fish or we let certain species extinct
because we catched too much of them and there aren t enough of that species left in the oceans.
Because of this, the complete marine system can collapse since we destroy a lot of coral reefs

It is the result of growing demand for fish around the world, combined with bad management of
fisheries and the development of new, more effective fishing techniques.
The cause of overfishing can be placed into three categories:
Overcapacity: All over the world, many fishing industries have special equipment and technology
that they can use deep in the oceans so that they can catch fish. They can stay at the ocean for
months and try to sell the fish as fast as possible once they are back on shore.
Unsustainable Fishing: this category involves using nets, fishing methods and other sorts of
equipment that catch far too much fish. They catch in such a large number that the fish become
endangered. It also involves catching sea animals other than fish during the same process, These
are called the by catch. A lot of the time, the by catch is destroyed and thrown back into the ocean.
This method also catches very young fish and that eventually will cause the extinction of the entire
species.
Economic and food needs: the number of fish which the big fishing industries bring to land depends
on the fishmarket and the needs of the customers. Humans have multiplied in the past century
which results in a multiplied need for

Mr. Williams And The Music Of Music And Film
John Williams once said so much of what we do is ephemeral and quickly forgotten, even by
ourselves, so it s gratifying to have something you have done linger in people s memories and
linger it did. Mr. Williams has made significant contributions to the arts of music and film. To fully
understand the gravity of his achievements and their affect on humanity, we must first look at the
progression of sound in film; the effect music has in film and its audience; and lastly his
accomplishments of music and film.
In the infancy of film, movies were silent but not without sound. To make film a more pleasant
experience, music was provided to cover up the ambient noise of the projector and help create an
agreeable atmosphere, often by the use of a solo piano. (Fischoff, S. (2005)). The musician
generally improvised playing mostly a variety of popular romantic and melodramatic scores of the
late nineteenth century (such as William Tell Overture, Ride of the Valkyrie, Les Preludes, etc.) as
long as it accompanied the action/scene or enhanced the mood (for dramatic effect). ( From Scene
to Shining Screen: A Short History of Film Music . para. 1 2. (n.d.)). As film grew in popularity and
length, so did the musical accompaniment adding instruments to the ensemble until even some
theaters were housing full orchestras. By the end of the silent era, the industry had completely
shifted from the all purpose improve music of the solo pianist, to exact musical scores written

A Classroom Interaction Of Student And Faculty
ABSTRACT
In this project, we overcome the disadvantages of Traditional Classroom interaction of student and
faculty. The Virtual Classroom System replaces the manual system with online Interactive
Classroom using Java. What we are doing is actually defining a portal of social interaction where
students can ask questions and various teachers of that particular subject can answer. A discussion
can also be started about a particular topic with interaction coming in from various students and
teachers.
In Virtual Classroom System the students and faculty need not be present physically, the questions
will allowed to put up in the form of text paragraph or images. All that one need is a PC or laptop.
The clients will be provided with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through Virtual Classroom various video lectures can be put up, queries and questions can be
asked and various doubts in the minds of the students can be cleared.
2. REQUIRMENT ANALYSIS:
The basic requirements for a Virtual Classroom is the user name and password given to all the
faculty and students. Once the respective person has logged in he/she can perform all the tasks that
the person is authorized to perform.
The project works in the following manner:
1) Faculty Registration before being able to deliver the lecture to the students, the faculty needs to
register with the system.
2) Student Registration to access the features of this application the student need to first register to
the system.
3) Live Chat: A Live chat is provided during the lecture so that students can raise their doubts on the
spot through the chat box.
4) Discussion Forum
Furthermore new features like Online Tests, Assignments can be given.
Through these procedures the classes can be made interactive, purposeful and fun.
3.SYSTEM ANALYSIS
3.1MOTIVATION
The main motive behind Virtual Classroom is the less amount of time the students and faculty to
interact to each other. With the help of virtual classroom students will be able to ask questions any
time and get their doubts clear. Faculty can also use this platform to give assignments and quiz in
real time, and take online tests. This will save the time wasted on taking tests in the classroom.

A Hoc On Demand Distance Vector
CHAPTER 4
EXISTING PROTOCOL
4.1 A hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV)
Ad hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV) [1] Routing could be a routing protocol for
(MANETs) and all other wireless ad hoc networks. it s collectively developed in Nokia centre,
University of California, USA and University of cincinnati by C. Perkins, E. Belding Royer and S.
Das[16]. AODV is capable of each unicast and multicast routing. it s a reactive routing protocol,
that means that it establishes a route to a destination solely on demand. In distinction, the foremost
common routing protocols of the internet are proactive, that means they notice routing route
severally of the usage of the route. AODV is, because the name indicates, a distance vector routing
protocol. AODV avoids the counting to infinity weakness of different distance vector protocols by
use of sequence numbers on route updates.
4.2 Working
In AODV, the network is quiet until a connection is required. At that spot the network source that
needs a transmission, broadcasts a request for connection. Other AODV intermediate nodes forward
this message, and trace the node that they heard it from, create an detonation of temporary routes
back to the source node. When a intermediate node receives such a message and already has a route
to the target node, it sends a message backwards through a temporary route to the source node. The
deprived node then begins using the route that has the least number of hops through other nodes.

Economic Analysis of Remedial Education and How it...
INTRODUCTION
Education is an important part of one s life. It can shape a student s identity, challenge his biases,
and encourage him to be inquisitorial and entrepreneurial in his thinking. Education can also push a
student through institutions only to ascertain that he meets some minimum standard. Modern day
high schools are graduating students in record numbers (Richmond 2013) , but the prevalence of
remediation in higher education illustrates the structural failure of American public schools to
effectively, adequately, and equitably educate students, especially indigent student populations
(Strong American Schools). As such, this issue requires serious public policy consideration.

The four year colleges do not admit remedial students, whereas the community colleges are
required by charter to accept every New York City high schoolgraduate who applies. While the
city lauds rising enrollment rates as evidence of its improved performance CUNY s community
colleges have had to double their annual spending on remediation in just a decade, to $33 million.
Kamenev touches on the role of teachers and how remedial classes cheapen the role of college
professors to de facto high school teachers.
Laura Diamond, reports in The Atlanta Journal Constitution, that nearly 23,000 Georgians enter
college unprepared and have to take learning support classes. Up to $22 million is spent in state
annually on these remedial courses (Diamond 2010). Remedial course credit does not count
toward diploma requirements and only about 25% of remedial students in Georgia earn a bachelor
s degree within six years. Some, like Representative Earl Erhart, head of the Georgia House
committee that oversees college budgets, do not sugar coat the situation. Ehrhart said, ...college has
become a continuation of the K 12 education [these students] never received, and that is not what a
college education is supposed to be.

Melinda was an outcast and loner in high school who was overwhelmed, fearful, and confused

front of people. Many students today might feel the need to fit in with other people so they wouldn

Hairwomen is hammering it to death (Anderson 101). This shows that Melinda doesn t really
enjoy how they re reading the book because of how the class is reading one sentence at a time
and analyzing every small thing in the book. Melinda was thinking why Nathaniel couldn t just
say what he meant straightforward but figured how it would be boring if he just repeated
everything he said in the book. That s why he used symbolism in the story to make it more
interesting. In another example, Melinda says I can see us, living in the woods, her wearing
that A, me with an S maybe, S for silent, for stupid, for scared. S for silly. For shame (Anderson
101). This shows that Melinda is emotionally unstable and thinks of herself in many bad ways
such as her being dumb and afraid. It also shows that Melinda is kind of mad at herself for the
person she is. For that, she makes herself feel ashamed. Another allusion that was used by the
author was Picasso. During art class, Mr. Freeman says Picasso. He whispers like a priest.
Picasso. Who saw the truth. Who painted the truth, molded it, ripped from the earth with two
angry hands (Anderson 118). This allusion shows that Picasso was an amazing artist and can be
capable of inspiring people like Melinda, who has her imagination paralyzed, to come up with a
good art piece. Melinda agreed to go through the book

Historians Use Of Objects And Portraits
Historians use objects and portraits to analyze evidence of a specific time period. It is useful
because historians can figure out how it affected colonials and find out their living style. A great
example could be the transition of how houses were built or rebuilt over time. An object or a
portrait can easily be examined by historians so that they can know why people from the past use
them for, and that how it showed whether the family was from the elite class or middle class. The
John Singleton Copley, Portrait of a Boy, c. 1758 1760 shows that children had toys to play with
especially if their parents were wealthy, based on the surroundings of the portrait. Based from the
portrait it can be assumed that the little boy was playing badminton,

Paranoid Personality Disorder is a disorder commonly mistaken for schizophrenic personality

Another possibility widely being speculated upon is the brain. In the brain, there are many

There is also evidence suggesting that there is an increased possibility that someone with a relative

Watching Road Runner and Tom And Jerry lit a fire inside me that is still burning today.
Throughout research for this report I discovered a side of Chuck Jones I never knew had existed,
his days at Chuck Jones Enterprises. I have previously only known Chuck Jones for his work at
MGM and Warner Bros., so discovering that Jones had a more experimental phase where he
created much more mature films was quite a surprise. He has very clearly influenced the entire
industry of animation. Jones was a master of timing, and his short films brought to light how
important timing is in expressing emotion. His influences can be seen everywhere today In Pixar
films, Warner Bros. Animation films, and most notably in European animated films. Chuck Jones

The United States Department Of Agriculture Essay
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) administers food assistance programs that
help provide food for low to no income families. It is their goal to increase food security and
reduce hunger by increasing access to food, a healthful diet, and nutrition education for low income
Americans (Caswell, 2013, para. 1). Some of the current nutritionassistance programs include the
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition
Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) (Caswell, 2013, para. 1). SNAP will be the
primary nutrition assistance program of the paper at hand. No matter how morally good it is to try
to help reduce hunger and increase foodsecurity within the United States, there are still many
questions regarding issues with SNAP. This paper will be discussing why there is such a strong
support for the program, how it helps the United States as a whole, problems with the program,
and why some people are against SNAP. The modern program was established as part of the War
on Poverty in the 1960s but has undergone mass changed since then (Edin, 2014). One being that
the government gives out electronic debit cards, rather than stamps, for buying food. Since 2008,
the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program has become the largest food assistance program
in the U.S. It serves greater than 45 million people in the U.S and is a critical safety net program
for health and nutrition in the U.S (The History of SNAP, para.

Practice Problems Set 1 MEC301: Heat Transfer
Q.1 The slab shown in the figure is embedded on five sides in insulation materials. The sixth side
is exposed to an ambient temperature through a heat transfer coefficient. Heat is generated in the
slab at the rate of 1.0 kW/m3. The thermal conductivity of the slab is 0.2 W/m K. (a) Solve for the
temperature distribution in the slab, noting any assumptions you must make. Be careful to clearly
identify the boundary conditions. (b) Evaluate T at the front and back faces of the slab. (c) Show
that your solution gives the expected heat fluxes at the back and front faces.

Rhetorical Analysis On Duster Kidd
In this passage, Dustin Kidd opens the reading by admitting to the readers his addiction to social
media. Kidd confronts that his morning routine consists of checking his notification on his
phone. However, the narrator flips the subject from his social media obsession, to the problems
of today s society. He explains how society persuades people that they are too skinny or too poor
and will never be good enough. Not only does he describe the cons of social media, but he also
justifies how social media can be a powerful device. The internet can be used as a platform that
enables people to stand up for themselves. After reading this passage, I realize that I support the

Through The Drinking Glass Analysis
This essay is an exploration of the topic of alcohol, especially as it relates to college campuses. In
order to gain insight into this topic I will be summarizing and examine three different essays.
These are Through the Drinking Glass by Andy Soon Leong Tan, The Neurocognitive Effects of
Alcohol on Adolescents and College Students by Donald Zeigler et. al, and Alcohol and Sexual
Assault by Antonia Abbey et. al. To examine the topic properly I should start with my own
understanding of the topic; I understand that drinking is a part of the college experience and that
it is pervasive on campus. When I came to college I already had the idea that college would have a
mass drinking culture. My time living in the dorms my freshman year... Show more content on

One fact that the authors point out is that youths are beginning to drink at lower ages and with
more frequency. The statistics range from 47 percent of high school students drinking heavily to
10 million, 28 percent of children that age, reporting alcohol use in the last thirty days. College
students reflect those same statistics. Concern is raised about how alcohol use patterns developed
in the teen years is not an issue that time resoles. The article then bridges into alcohol s effects on
teens. The absorption of alcohol under normal circumstances is first explained, with there being a
set amount of alcohol being removed each hour and if that amount is exceeded alcohol will
continue building up in the blood. Alcohol has numerous effects on the body it can impair the brain
s ability to learn and remember events, and reduce a person s motor controls, also alcohol releases
the happiness hormones, endorphin and dopamine, encouraging continued alcohol use. Using large
amounts of alcohol can poison the brain over time which is a large issue during this important time
of brain development. Unfortunately, due to their smaller bodies and non tolerance alcohol effects
teenagers more than it does adults, this leads increases the risk of Alcohol Poisoning and means
teens become drunker faster. Drinking large amounts of alcohol

Meriam People Case Summary
(a)The relationship between the parties in the case
In 1982, five Murray Islanders begun action against the government of Queensland pursuing
assertions of rights to the use and enjoyment of traditional land that had been uninterruptedly
occupied by the Meriam people before and since the takeover by the defendant government.
(b)The primary issue determined by the case
The primary issue that the High Court was asked to consider within Mabo was whether the
Meriam people essentially had native rights in the Murray Islands, and if the people did in fact
have these pre existing rights, whether the Australian law should guard these rights and interests
and thus allow the Meriam people legal recognition to the land in question. (c)A summary of the
reasons of Brennan J. on the primary

also discussed the relevance of the rejection of universal and absolute ownership. He discussed
the idea that the Crown had absolute ownership of, legal possession of an exclusive power to
confer title to, all land in the Murray Islands. So to was the idea considered that the doctrine of
tenure was complete, such that every segment of land which was acquired by England was held
mediately or immediately of the King who is the Lord Paramount . Brennan J. concluded that the
doctrine of tenure applies to every Crown grant of an interest in land, but not to rights and interests
which do not owe their existence to a Crown grant . Thus, it was accepted by the majority that the
Crown in fact acquired a radical title as opposed to an absolute title upon the acquirement of any
land, and that this radical title would be subject to native title rights in the occurrence that the
appropriate native title rights had not been reasonably or formerly

Would you ever ride a dirt bike. Would you enter in a race and try to beat either other opponents

prices either new or used. They have honda s, husqvarna s, kawasaki s, ktm s and many more.
The prices are new are around 2,000 8,000 for used dirt bikes are around 500 1,500 either in

Progression of Black Masculinity
Nearly every decade consists of at least one film that helps to define the development of a
generation. The film is able to paint a clear enough picture that not only captures the cultural
aspects of the generation but also portrays the social implications and complexities associated
with the environment the culture thrives in. In regards to the genre of hip hop and rap and its
relationship with black life and urban imagery for example, Cooley High may be representative
for a generation that was in their 20 s during the debut of the movie. The next generation of the
1980 s would most likely be able to understand the interworking s of the movie Krush Groove
whereas the generation of the 1990 s would more than likely link themselves to such films as
New Jack City and Juice. These films depicting the rise of black boys to black men were in rarity
during their debut and because of the popular actors and underlining themes in them have had a
significant long lasting impact on people of color as well as young white Americans that have
been somewhat interested in the everyday struggle of their inner city counterparts. Through a
careful analysis of films such as Krush Groove depicting black life in the 1980 s to the urban
imagery displayed in the 1990 s movies of Juice and New Jack City the progression of the
portrayal of young black males can be observed as well as the difference in viewpoints on black
humanity, and stereotypes. Minorities have overcome significant hurdles in the

Comp 2 Class Reflection
Writing is a skill that needs to be practiced. Before this class, I didn t care about the writing because
my high school teachers didn t care about my writing, as long as I turn a paper, I would be fine.
Now, at the end of my Comp 2 class, I can assure I have improved my skills. From simply using
MLA 8th format to writingan ethnography, this class has helped me get a more advanced writing
style to accomplish the requirements that higher educationrequires. First of all, before this class my
MLA formatting was wrong. For example, instead of writing Prof. Webb I wrote Pamela Webb,
another example is the class, instead of writing ENGL 1231 201 I wrote ENGL 1231, Section 201.
I made these mistakes because instead of asking a professor for help, I thought to ask Google
was good enough to get the knowledge and skills to write a good essay. Now instead of using
Google for the answer, I try to ask and get in touch with my professors whenever I have questions,

have to decide where I stand according to my topic, so I can have a good argument for why I
believe that is right. Finally, this class will be beneficial not only in my academic life but also in
my professional. Now that I have the skills to write a paper my future classes will be easier
when I have to write a report or those type of assignments. On the other hand, this class will
impact my professional life, by helping to write property so people will be confident about my

The Pros And Cons Of Bottle Nosed Dolphins
Bottle nosed Dolphins are often regarded as being one of the smartest animal to have existed. Their
existence has been over the past few centuries have been noted and highly complimented for being
close allies of humans. In recent years, over the past few decades, the controversy of keeping
dolphins under human captivity has blown way up and received uncanny amounts of criticism for
holding dolphins in smaller aquariums for human entertainment. The ethicality of bottle nosed
dolphincaptivity is frequently questioned, however the quality of life and health of the dolphins is
often not acknowledged to its full potential or received praise for the benefits constant human
supervision has for dolphin life.
Dolphins are social animals, when in the wild they live in pods varying in sizes from 2 40
dolphins. They develop a social hierarchy with either a head male or female to essentially lead the
group. In comparison, social bonds between dolphins and even their trainers in their tanks have also
been found to have remarkable bonds, and specifically the partnership between the dolphin and its
trainer has been notarized for their mutual respect. However, the human communication is nothing
in comparison to the conversing between an actual pods of dolphins in the wild with one ultimate
goal of survival.

Comparing Herbalife And Burnlounge
Pyramid schemes have been a problem for the federal government since 1967 and continue today
(Walsh, 2016). The right to recruit others and the right to sell products are two of the most common
and important characteristics related to illegal pyramid schemes (Walsch, 2016). In a comparison of
Herbalife and BurnLounge, both direct marketingcompanies accused of pyramid schemes, there are
several key differences between the two companies. These differences can be seen in both of the
areas of the right to recruit and the right to sell. While Herbalife promoted recruitment of
participants, that was not the primary source of income. Also, they had appropriate sales quotas to

The primary payout comes from recruiting others into the program, and not necessarily from the
sales of the products. This shell game places the burden on the participant to constantly be
recruiting new participants instead of actually selling the products. The test for demonstration of
pyramid schemes has two different primary factors that are evaluated. Is the company primarily
making money off of recruits that purchase sales packages and must those participants recruit other
participants to be able to make any money? BurnLounge was proven to be primarily based on
recruiting new members and getting them to purchase sales packages instead of the sales of the
products. Failure to disclose that most investors actually lose money was part of the downfall of the
BurnLounge system as well. The investigation into illegal activity centered on the evaluation of
sales activity and recruits. Unfortunately, it took 7 years to shut down BurnLounge, which delayed
the protection of an estimated 30,000 salespeople that were roped into the scam. Multilevel
marketing should not vow large earnings from recruiting, charge large start up fees, or compensate

and his brother were fisherman by trade, most likely because of their father Jonah, who was also a

In Peter s first letter he urges his readers to repay evil with good, to love one another and to
protect their reputation as good citizens of high morality (The Editors of Encyclopædia Britannica,

The second theme was to stay sharp (in regards to his word). His second letter contains a lot of
information on false prophets, and he goes on to say that in order to stand strong against their false
teachings, you need to seek after the true knowledge of god. He links this in with standing strong,
because the day Jesus returns is coming quickly.
The third is to live for Jesus. For over three years, Peter lived in close proximity with Jesus. This
gave Peter the best example of what it is like, to truly live in holiness in a hostile world.
Therefore Peter points his readers to the best example there is, Jesus himself. Peter tells his
audience to sanctify Christ as Lord in their hearts, that believers might live and act according to
how Jesus desires during their short time on earth (1 Peter 3:14 18) (Swindoll, 1979).

Iciologist Charles Cooley Idea Of The Looking Glass Self
Kids are invincible, they believe that they can do anything in the world. The reason kids are like
this and adults are not is because kids have never been told that they cannot do something. That
is why kids run around saying their going to be the president of the United States, because no
one has ever crushed their dreams yet. When you grow up you begin to see whats realistic for
oneself and what is not. Other people shape our perception of ourselves and what we think we can
accomplish. As people grow from being a baby, to an adolescence, to an adult they see how others
treat them and form a self image based on what they think others think of his or hers behaviors and
appearance. This is known as sociologist Charles Cooleyidea of the Looking Glass Self. A persons
looking glass self develops throughout their life time and shapes based on their social
interactions and context of what others think of them. While ages one to five kids are only
surrounded by their primary group. Kids imaginations can run wild and this allows them to
believe that anything is possible. All kids are the same therefore, the social interactions of kids
don t shape their self image until they are older. Unless kids have bad home lives they think they
are the best think ever. But as kids begin to grow and go to elementary school they become more
self conscious. They feel if they dress nicely others will like them more. This is when we start
imagining what we think others think of us. What we

The efficiency of the County s financial management have allowed it to maintain the AAA bond
rating, which allows borrowing at the lowest possible interest rate. This saves the County
millions in future borrowing costs. Government Structure The General Fund is Oakland County s
principal operating fund. It has increased by a total of $40.2 million since 2001. This increase
can be primarily attributed to County officials efforts to limit spending, and require internal
service funds to absorb rate increases instead of passing that cost on to the General Fund.
Issuance of debt is also limited. While the County has authority to issue up to $5.8 billion in debt

14% of the permissible amount. Other types of funds are used in accordance with Generally

Animal Testing Satire
When was the last time you bought makeup? Or even more specifically when was the last time
you bought makeup that was tested on animals? Each year in Australia alone, over 100 million
animals will die from exposure to commercial animal testing or in simpler terms, animal cruelty
that is commonly disregarded as it is just science. However, product testing on animalis extremely
unethical and is pure cruelty. Here is why we need to stop this mistreatment immediately.
To start, the results of animal testing cannot be accurately assumed safe for human use. In 1960 an

while they wait for the next terrifying and painful procedure of testing to be done on them. Due to
their exclusion from the outside environment and the mistreatment done to them, some animals
begin to display symptoms and actions of neurotic behaviour. Some of this behaviour may include,
biting themselves, pulling their own fur out, spinning around in circles and intensive rocking back
and forth. This is a disgusting way for such gentle creatures to be spending their lives just to
benefit humans. According to PETA (People for the ethical treatment of animals) stated that a spine

Future Medications and Newer Drugs
Future medications Introduction This chapter deals with the newer drugs available in all classes of
psychiatric disorders. Anxiety (Social Phobia) Anxiety disorders affect more than 40 million adults
in the U.S., with about 15 million of those suffering from acute social phobia, according to the
National Institute of Mental Health. The drug, which has a unique mechanism of action, is
administered in an intranasal spray and acts with rapid onset on peripheral receptors from nasal
chemosensory neurons that act on the hypothalamic limbic system in the brain, which is thought to
be the primary center of emotion. In clinical trials, it was shown to improve social performance and
social interaction anxiety within 10 minutes of administration. Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity
Disorder (ADHD) ADHD is one of the most common reasons children in the United States are
referred for mental health services and affects as many as one in every 20 children, according to
Mental Health America. A potential medicine in development for ADHD is an agonist of neuronal
nicotinic receptors (NNR). NNRs serve as key regulators of nervous system functions. When certain
neurotransmitters bind to an NNR, the receptor normalizes chemical signaling in the brain,
allowing neurons to communicate properly. This results in increased signaling when the nervous
system is under stimulated and decreased signaling when the nervous system is overstimulated. A
new drug with a nonstimulant mechanism of

Switzerland Legal System Essay
Switzerland s legal system is reliant on a civil law tradition and thus is dependent on written
codes which is held as a primary source for statements of law with authority. Going back in
history it is shown that civil law is composed of a group of legal ideas and systems stemmed
from a collection of fundamental works in jurisprudence, cloaked by Napoleonic, Germanic,
canonical, feudal and local practises including doctrinal strains such as natural law, codification
and legal positivism. Swiss foreign policy has since 1815 been governed by the principle of
neutrality, so they did not support or aid either side to a conflict and remained impartial during
the first and second World War. England s law on the other hand was made by judges sitting in
courts thus known as common law so has become more like Switzerland as legislation has stated
to overtake judicial law making. Their laws are seen to be dominated by statutory law, which
generate general principles and sets aside functional and procedural rules. Unlike the United
Kingdom judicial decisions are not rated as high. Switzerland is a federal union, meaning civil
procedure and the make up of the judiciary are governed by state law of 26 cantons, in unifying
the various cantonal rules enshrines the rights to take part in decision making process s on
Federals state level, having equal share in the central legislator. Switzerland is also not a part of the
European Union despite having strong ties into the EU. Its legal

Rise Of The Taliban
The Taliban is one of the most notorious militant Sunni Islamic political groups in the world. The
majority of people have heard the name Taliban before. It is a name that carries hate, confusion,
and love depending on the person. However, many don t understand what the Taliban is and how it
came about. Some just consider them a radical terrorist group and some see them as a historic
change in government. This paper is going to explain: who the Talibanare, why they do what they
do, and how they came about.
The Taliban seized control of Afghanistanin the mid 1990 s (Hopkins). Their primary goal was to
make Afghanistan and Pakistan into an Islamic State, more specifically a Pashtun state. The

Since, the book is based on first hand experience and a person s point of view who lived through

madrasas, a fundamental Pashtun, and has a lot of hatred toward Hazaras. Kite Runner
excellently described an insider s view on the Taliban as well. As stated the people were excited
for rapid change and the fleeing of the Soviet Union. The Taliban, to the people were considered an
important change in government, however led to murder in the street and constant gunfire and

Open Carry On Campus Essay
Open Carry on Campus: Good or Bad?
Many students and faculty members fear that allowing weapons on campus may cause tension
and hostility or even cause minor situations to rapidly escalate. Others feel as if open carry on
campus is missing link to reducing the number of school shootings across the country. When it
comes to allowing firearms on campus, some of the most important factors to consider are: how
active shooter situations will be handled, why it is important to be on alert, and should first
responders be the only one responsible campus safety. These are the factors that ultimately decided
whether students and faculty will end up as victims or heroes in a state of crisis.
If students and faculty members are armed when an active shooter ... Show more content on

Sitting through an hour long lecture or waiting in line to speak with financial aid are some
examples of an average day on campus. It is during these times when students are least expecting
tragedy to strike. A student may hear a loud noise and think nothing of it until they realize that
noise was the sound of a shooting rampage that has reached their area and by that time it s usually
too late. Campus safety is everyone s responsibility and remaining on alert is the only way to
ensure less people are victimized. One of the first, and most memorable, attacks happened on
August 1, 1966. Charles Whitman, a former marine, took rifles and other weapons to the
observation deck atop the Main Building tower at The University of Texas Austin, then randomly
opened fire on the surrounding campus and streets. Over the next 96 minutes, far longer than the
average active shooter attack, he shot and killed fifteen people. Included in the death toll was one
unborn child, and injured thirty one others. The incident ended when police reached Whitman and
shot him dead. During this event, civilians played a vital role in assisting first responders in the
take down of Whitman and Allen Crum, a 40 year old bookstore manager and retired Air Force tail
gunner, accompanied police up the tower in pursuit of Whitman. While Crum was armed, it solely
because officers handed him a firearm to assist in Whitman s take down.

Respectful Relationship Theory
Introduction
In this reflection journal I will be discussing Ata growing respectful relationship theory, which I
chose to use for Kate s case study, and Ecological systems theory, which was used for Hone s case
study. I will further reflect on the appropriateness of the two theories in relation to these given case
studies. Lastly I will look at the application of these theoretical frameworks.
Theories
Reflecting back on Kate s case study I feel that Pohatu s ata growing respectful relationship I m
unsure if ata was the most suitable model to use with Kate. I personally felt then that initially I
needed to develop a rapport with Kate first to build an effective and trusting relationship if we were
to work together. Because the focus of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore I felt that Urie Brofennbrenner ecological systems theory was best suited for Hone as it
looks at the environment that surrounded the individual and how the impact of each system could
affect them. The ecological systems perspective looks at the bigger picture of the individual. it
regonises the relationship between environment and individual, for example the relationship
between Hone and his school. In social work practice it helps to regonise the influence of the
environment on the individual weather it be directly or indirectly. The application of the
ecological systems theory enables me to identify the factors from each of Hone s system, which
was causing an impact on him. Through the applying the systems theory I was able to gain to a
better knowledge of understanding to his erratic behaviour and awareness that there were some
underlying issues that needed to be addressed as well. Hone s mother leaving him when he was
born is one the many or not root of the underlying issues. Again like Kate s case study I feel that
another model would be working in conjunction with systems theory such as Freud s
psychodynamic theory. I feel that the individual needs to be explored also and why they are
behaving in such manner. The psychodynamic theory is about the exploration of the inner self and
how the unconscious forces drive human behavior, how the clients identify the conflicts and their
experiences. This will help to understand the hidden meanings in things that Hone say, think, or is
engaging in such as smoking or cutting

My Mind Is Playing Tricks On You
Your mind is Playing Tricks on You There are so many topics people question about the world.
Whether its conspiracy theories, superstitions, ghost, religion or even supernatural experiences.
Everybody has their own beliefs. Why don t we all just believe in one... Logic! People are scared to
question what they believe, because they never really know if it s real or fake, so they might as well
do the right thingjust in case . Why don t they test their theories to actually really find out for
themselves? Honestly, one can be scared of the truthwhich is why they avoid it, but anything can
be proven logically. Religion, or more concise, prayer is the main topic around the world.
Everyone has different beliefs, and believe in different or many Gods. Are they all real?
Probably not. Many can say that prayer works, but fail to see both sides of the story. The bible
for instance, one can agree that they re many verse to imply that pray works. If it does not work
than the bible either tells you you don t have enough faith or god has other plans . Although,
there are some instances that prayer has been said to work it really cannot be proven. People
believe in the bible so much. It is a book written thousands of years ago. It could easily be
paraphrased just like a story your family tells you from a long time ago, and start adding their own
input and by the time it gets to your ears it s a whole new story that never happened. Traditionally
the religion family members have is

What Are The Strategic Competencies Of The Hospitality...
There are different strategies that must be considered by the organisations operating in hospitality
industry. The contributions made by the firm donate towards the performance and achievement of
the company. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the strategies of the hotel, which serves as
the basis of success. This paper is divided into five different tasks each of which is focusing on
various aspects of the hotels performance. The organisation that is selected in order to answer the
tasks is InterContinentalHotelGroup. Different models and strategies are used for analysing external
environment, core capabilities, culture, and strategic choices of the firm.
Task 1: Strategic Trajectories and Competencies of Hotel
InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) is among the largest hotels of the world and contain large of
number of rooms in comparison to other hotels. IHG has transformed itself from a small hotel to
large one with the help of expanding its operations and functions. It is noticed that the hotel focuses

Moreover, the tax regulations, personnel laws, ecological regulations, and industry particular
regulation can be changed relying upon the country current economic situation. For example, the
process of elections in different countries plays a basic part in the globalisation of hospitality
market. Eventually, the conceivable changes of regulations and laws can either advantage or
represent a detriment for the tourism organisations that are operating internationally. However,
another political issue is visa limitations for the reason that in UK and the US, the migration has
executed more strict regulations making it harder for outsiders to acquire a traveller visa.
Particularly after the 9/11 terrorist assault, the US has turned out to be more stringent on the
issuance of visas (Levonsky Conley,

Neo Mercantilism Essay
Introduction
Economics theories are just as important as international relations theory. This is because
economics theories that implemented as a economic policies for a countries will determine whether
it will prosper the country s wealth or not. Economics theories are not just determine national
economic stability but it also can gives effects to international economic system. Even, economics
theories are common to be discussed among scholars on how the economics theories will gives
effects to international stability, and this can be seen through what Malmgren have said in his paper:
Commercial and financial issues are starting to replace traditional diplomatic and security questions
as the main stuff of foreign policy. This shift in priorities in part a consequence of the receding
threat of war between the superpowers. But, just as important, a sweep of world wide economic
adjustment is also under way, changing the framework of inter national politics. ... Show more

Traditional mercantilism is known to its characteristic that is implementing extreme protectionism

Online Education Research Paper
Education is an important part of life since it gives us knowledge of the world around, paves the
way for a worthy career, and makes a man complete. Unfortunately, in some part of the world,
education is not readily accessible that made the number of people in the world do not have a
chance to go to school. For instance, in Africa, according to the USAID Center reports that as of
2005, 40% of school age children in Africa do not attend primary school and there are still 46
million school age African children who have never stepped into a classroom. Moreover, politics
play a significant part in fanning the flames of extremism, but widespread poverty, high
unemployment rates, and a lack of equal educational opportunities for girls are also important
elements. In addition, the traditional classes are not one size fits all for everyone. For example,
some students in the class said that they feel bored and stressed out when going to school. On the
other hand, other students feel timid when discussing the problems in face to face lecture, perhaps
they feel more comfortable through emails, or discuss lessons on the online web like Canvas,
Etude, etc. Nowadays, accompany with the improvement of technology, we can perceive that ever
more people choose online educationas the valuable opportunity for people as it gives everyone all
over the world a chance to deserve a high quality education, actively manage schedules, and master

That is what it is like to play the video game Destiny without knowing how to play first. This video game is a very large and complicated game to start. Going into the game blind can leave someone confused and angry. This paper is going to explain how to efficiently play Destiny without being confused. When someone first loads up Destiny, they must choose from three characters to begin the game. There are three character slots as well, so they can make on of each kind of character or three of the same kind of character. The possibilities are almost endless. The level system in destiny is kind of weird but simple. The player must race to level twenty to equip better armor such as legendary and exotic armor and weapons. When the player hits level twenty, they can no longer level up from doing bounties and completing missions, but they can now level up their light by putting on legendary or exotic armor. Weapons do not count towards your light level, so it does not matter what weapons the player has equipped; however, it is best to use legendary or exotic weapons over any type of blue weapon because they do a ton more damage to enemies. Once the player reaches light level twenty six, they get access to the normal Vault of Glass raid. When the player has acquired the raid helmet, gauntlets, chest piece, and boots, they can then upgrade that armor by turning in bounties while the gear is equipped. • 3. Similarities Between Redon And David Hockney Artists often use their personal perceptions as a stimulus for their artwork. They are able to use their work to express a certain viewpoint they may have on a subject. Well renowned artists, Odilon Redon and David Hockney have both manipulated their artistic abilities to express their perceptions through their work with their art movements. Redon is a renowned 18th 19th century French symbolist artist whose works revolve around his dreams, fantasy and imagination, The Cyclops (1914), being one of his most recognised paintings. David Hockney is a painter and photographer and is considered one of the most influential British artists of the 20th century, a prime example of his work being, A Bigger Splash (1966.) Both artworks reflect the artist s personal perceptions and contain similarities and differences with their movements, intentions and use of stylistic features. At the beginning of his career, Redon s works were exclusively in black and white in lithographic prints and charcoal. His works consisted of a monochromatic colour scheme representing symbolism in his unusual dreamlike creations, called noirs. In an interview, Redon stated that his noirs are his most personal expressions. These works were a product of his creative imagination of depictions of his knowledge and perception on evolution theories, presented by Charles Darwin at the time. The noirs were also a reflection on his pessimism and melancholy, particularly as a child, and a representation of how he views the world. Contradictory to his early works, Redon transfigured into non naturalistic colour themed pastels and oil paintings. Many of these oeuvres were abstract, generally constructed of an ethereal chromatic background with a focal subject and an overall hazy appeal. The Cyclops is a versatile example of Redon s work as it is an oil painting with noir themes. The artwork illustrates a mountain and rocky landscape, with a Cyclops creature emerging from behind the tall mountain in the background of the scenario. Slightly off centre to the right there is a naked woman who appears to be sleeping peacefully amongst the abstract plantation on the hill. However, as we continue to pursue the war on drugs, it has become increasingly evident that winning the war seems to be an impossible task. Drugprohibitionand the undertaking of the war on drugs have stirred much controversy over its moral and logical implications. While there are many drugs that exist that are unhealthy when abused, it has become apparent that the drug policies in the United States, as well as many parts of the world, are inconsistent and oppressive. Ironically, drug laws were initially created for the good of society, but it has become increasingly clear that drug laws and our undertaking of the drug war have only served to cause problems. The current war on drugs has led to devastating effects on society both economically and socially. Violence and corruption have subjugated throughout the United States, Mexico and many other parts of the world. Additionally, drug prohibition efforts have had very little impact on the supply of illegal drugs and have had little to no success in reducing the demand for illegal drugs. Writing crime stories would not be as advanced today without his literary contribution to American style literature. His most famous novel, The Big Sleep, established a highly prestigious artistic level; he would go on to forever change how detective fictionnovels affected society, and how people view society from their own understanding. He introduced an aspect that would question the approach of his article, The Simple Art of Murder, in which he preaches and criticizes the authors who he believes are not disciplined enough to write a mystery novel, by questioning their lack of detail and knowledge about the antagonist and the insubordinate movement of the plot itself. As he goes on to create one of the most influential novels of his time, he does not take the time to question his own masterpiece, believing that he exhibits the appropriate amount of knowledge and detail to write an influential mystery novel. The Great Debate The Great Debate: Science vs Religion The relationship between religion and science has been a subject to numerous debates, earning its place in multiple forums and dominating the news. Disputes arise because science and religion are two very different disciplines. For instance, science is ultimately based on observation of nature while religion is largely based on faith. Conflicts between the two have existed for hundreds of years and will continue to do so, because of their different concepts of truth . Mr. Williams And The Music Of Music And Film John Williams once said so much of what we do is ephemeral and quickly forgotten, even by ourselves, so it s gratifying to have something you have done linger in people s memories and linger it did. Mr. Williams has made significant contributions to the arts of music and film. To fully understand the gravity of his achievements and their affect on humanity, we must first look at the progression of sound in film; the effect music has in film and its audience; and lastly his accomplishments of music and film. In the infancy of film, movies were silent but not without sound. To make film a more pleasant experience, music was provided to cover up the ambient noise of the projector and help create an agreeable atmosphere, often by the use of a solo piano. (Fischoff, S. (2005)). The musician generally improvised playing mostly a variety of popular romantic and melodramatic scores of the late nineteenth century (such as William Tell Overture, Ride of the Valkyrie, Les Preludes, etc.) as long as it accompanied the action/scene or enhanced the mood (for dramatic effect). It can shape a student s identity, challenge his biases, and encourage him to be inquisitorial and entrepreneurial in his thinking. Education can also push a student through institutions only to ascertain that he meets some minimum standard. Modern day high schools are graduating students in record numbers (Richmond 2013) , but the prevalence of remediation in higher education illustrates the structural failure of American public schools to effectively, adequately, and equitably educate students, especially indigent student populations (Strong American Schools). Kamenev touches on the role of teachers and how remedial classes cheapen the role of college professors to de facto high school teachers. • 27. Rhetorical Analysis On Duster Kidd In this passage, Dustin Kidd opens the reading by admitting to the readers his addiction to social media. Kidd confronts that his morning routine consists of checking his notification on his phone. However, the narrator flips the subject from his social media obsession, to the problems of today s society. He explains how society persuades people that they are too skinny or too poor and will never be good enough. Not only does he describe the cons of social media, but he also justifies how social media can be a powerful device. The internet can be used as a platform that enables people to stand up for themselves. After reading this passage, I realize that I support the Dustin Kidd s main ideas. • 28. Through The Drinking Glass Analysis This essay is an exploration of the topic of alcohol, especially as it relates to college campuses. In order to gain insight into this topic I will be summarizing and examine three different essays. These are Through the Drinking Glass by Andy Soon Leong Tan, The Neurocognitive Effects of Alcohol on Adolescents and College Students by Donald Zeigler et. al, and Alcohol and Sexual Assault by Antonia Abbey et. al. To examine the topic properly I should start with my own understanding of the topic; I understand that drinking is a part of the college experience and that it is pervasive on campus. When I came to college I already had the idea that college would have a mass drinking culture. My time living in the dorms my freshman year... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One fact that the authors point out is that youths are beginning to drink at lower ages and with more frequency. The statistics range from 47 percent of high school students drinking heavily to 10 million, 28 percent of children that age, reporting alcohol use in the last thirty days. College students reflect those same statistics. Concern is raised about how alcohol use patterns developed in the teen years is not an issue that time resoles. The article then bridges into alcohol s effects on teens. The absorption of alcohol under normal circumstances is first explained, with there being a set amount of alcohol being removed each hour and if that amount is exceeded alcohol will continue building up in the blood. Alcohol has numerous effects on the body it can impair the brain s ability to learn and remember events, and reduce a person s motor controls, also alcohol releases the happiness hormones, endorphin and dopamine, encouraging continued alcohol use. Using large amounts of alcohol can poison the brain over time which is a large issue during this important time of brain development. Unfortunately, due to their smaller bodies and non tolerance alcohol effects teenagers more than it does adults, this leads increases the risk of Alcohol Poisoning and means teens become drunker faster. (b)The primary issue determined by the case The primary issue that the High Court was asked to consider within Mabo was whether the Meriam people essentially had native rights in the Murray Islands, and if the people did in fact have these pre existing rights, whether the Australian law should guard these rights and interests and thus allow the Meriam people legal recognition to the land in question. In regards to the genre of hip hop and rap and its relationship with black life and urban imagery for example, Cooley High may be representative for a generation that was in their 20 s during the debut of the movie. Therefore I felt that Urie Brofennbrenner ecological systems theory was best suited for Hone as it looks at the environment that surrounded the individual and how the impact of each system could affect them. The ecological systems perspective looks at the bigger picture of the individual. it regonises the relationship between environment and individual, for example the relationship between Hone and his school. In social work practice it helps to regonise the influence of the environment on the individual weather it be directly or indirectly. The application of the ecological systems theory enables me to identify the factors from each of Hone s system, which was causing an impact on him. Through the applying the systems theory I was able to gain to a better knowledge of understanding to his erratic behaviour and awareness that there were some underlying issues that needed to be addressed as well. Hone s mother leaving him when he was born is one the many or not root of the underlying issues. Again like Kate s case study I feel that another model would be working in conjunction with systems theory such as Freud s psychodynamic theory. I feel that the individual needs to be explored also and why they are behaving in such manner. The psychodynamic theory is about the exploration of the inner self and how the unconscious forces drive human behavior, how the clients identify the conflicts and their experiences. This will help to understand the hidden meanings in things that Hone say, think, or is engaging in such as smoking or cutting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
