Exodus there are a set of laws for the new community that pander to push away their old lives to

The main issue is the use of a word that many find offensive, in a book that many consider to be
one of the greatest American novels. To make the book more accessible to a greater number of
people, New South Books has reprinted Huckleberry Finn changing that offensive word to slave
. The argument has two sides, on one side of the argument we have the scholars who believe that
removing the offensive word from the book changes the book and makes the impact of the book
less significant; the other side of the argument is those who say changing the word to a less
offensive word takes away the impact and importance of the book. The first side who is in favor of

other based on their race. Mark Twain put the offensive word there to grab the reader s attention
and every time the word it read it does just that. Others feel that the use of the word 219 times in

capture the manner in which people spoke back in Huckleberry Finn s time, which is what those
in favor of keeping the offensive language in the book believe? I get the sense that Byron Pitts
does feel uncomfortable with the word being used, for this reason he seems to sway towards the
side in favor of censoring the book. He seems to ask for more of an explanation from David
Bradley than he does from Williams, this is another reason I think he leans towards the censoring
