Analysis Of The Movie Waiting For Superman
Danny kinder key Waiting for Superman
2010 Mr. Davis Guggenheim an American film director and producer wrote and directed Waiting
for Superman , a documentary that deals with the American education system. Guggenheim argues
that they are failing more each year in producing successful students. He finds where the faults are
within the public educational system. He takes the time to show us some of the faces to those
numbers to make his pubic realize they are more than just numbers dropping off the charts. He
wishes to not only inform, but also to inspire others to act. This essay expresses how he portrays his
arguments effectively; also identifying and analyzing the strategies that Guggenheim uses to
organize and develop his ideas and determine who his intended audience is.
Guggenheim successfully persuades his audience, first by using the ethos appeal. He does this by
opening his film by explaining that as parent, he also worries and cares for the success of his own
children and is very aware of the degradation of the public education. He is also being fair minded
as he opens up about a previous film he created where he was actually supporting the idea that
public schools worked. Although he held those beliefs up so highly once, he s now changed
opinion. Guggenheim sincerely expressing why this has happened saying, Ten years later, it was
time to choose a school for my own children...and then reality set in. My feelings about

How Did Marie Antoinette Cause The French Revolution
Hayley Ross Mrs. Parks 1/24/15 Red Winter Research Paper We were born free and equal. Now
we are all chained (The Philosophies of Enlightenment Rousseau). This is what Rousseau thought
about equality. He believed that everyone is free and deserves equality but society puts people in
different classes. During the enlightened time period, they started to realize that everyone no
matter your place in society deserved equality ( Famous people of the revolution 2013). This
realization is what caused the revolution not the mistakes made by Marie Antoinette and Louis

The biggest thing she was victimized for was the diamond necklace scandal. In 1781 Marie
Antoinette was approached by Charles Boehmer about buying a necklace with 647 diamonds on
it. Boehmer created the necklace for Louis XV, before he could finish the necklace Boehmer
died. Later on he realized that he needed to sell the necklace to avoid financial ruin. When he
approached Marie, she knew it was way too expensive for her to buy and she would not wear
something that was intended for someone else. Boehmer continued to bother her to purchase it
on several other occasions (Lotz 100). Later on Marie s friend Jeanne informed Boehmer that
she would be able to convince her to purchase the necklace. After she promised him that she
would get Marie to reconsider she went to Cardinal de Rohan and told him that Marie wanted to
purchase the necklace. She also told him that she didn t think it was wise for her to purchase it
in person. He agreed to negotiate the purchase of the necklace with his own money (Lotz 104).
Jeanne promised that Marie would pay him back over the next two years. After Cardinal de
Rohan came to an agreement with Boehmer, the jeweler, the necklace was given to Jeanne so
that she could give it to the queen. After Jeanne got hold of the necklace she then gave it to her
husband to go sell in London. Not knowing what happened, Boehmer waited for the queen to
show off his wonderful necklace, he waited feast day after feast day for her to wear it. He
decided to write a letter to her saying he was glad the necklace was in her hands. Marie Antoinette
not knowing what he was implying, burned the letter. Boehmer was having a financial crisis and
need the money that he was owed. He decided he did not want to approach the queen directly and
decided to talk to Madame Campan, her chief waiter, to inform her that she owed him money. She

Courageous Conversations About Race by Glenn E. Singleton...
Courageous Conversations About Race: Chapter 5
Authors Glenn E. Singleton and Curtis Linton in Chapter Five of Courageous Conversations About
Race broach the topic of race, by asking the reader to evaluate his or her own consciousness of race.
According to the authors, in order to address the achievement gaps between African American
students and White students, educators should shift their energy towards focusing on the factors
that they have direct control of inside the classroom rather than on the factors that influence this
achievement disparity between races outside the classroom.
The first step towards addressing the racial achievement gap begins with educators addressing his

Growing up in Park Ridge, Illinois was significantly different from where I was born in
Morristown, New Jersey. One of the most startling differences was apparent in the make up of the
student body. In Morristown, I attended an elementary school with a diverse student body; many of
my schoolmates were African American and I remember even at a young age, students regardless
of race interacting all together without any sense of stigma attached to it. In that sense, while
attending elementary school, since it was the norm to have friends of different races, I did not
think very much of my race. However, in contrast to living in Morristown, when I moved to Park
Ridge, Illinois at the start of middle school, I will never forget meeting my classmates for the first
time only to realize not one was of a different race. In fact, there was not one African American in
my entire middle school! This was shocking to me. Transferring from a diverse school community
to a completely homogenous school community made me more aware of my race simply because

Lab Report on Paper Towels
Which Paper Towel is Stronger and
Has More Absorbency?
Decorator or Sparkle?
Introduction
Paper towels are made from softwood trees which contain long fibers. The tree goes thru several
processes before it is actually turned into a paper towel. The paper towel is made from pulp in
which the water is removed and the fibers then bond into sheets. Also, resin is added to the process
to give the paper towel strength (Union). Several layers are then put together with adhesive and
then formed into a paper towel (Choudhury). Some paper towels are embossed to form air pockets
which help to absorb more liquid and help to add more strength (Union).
The purpose of this experiment is to find out which brand of paper towel, Decorator or ... Show

The process was then repeated for the second brand of paper towel.
The independent variable for the experiment was the paper towels. The dependent variable was the
absorbency and strength. The constants for the experiment were the size of the paper towels that
were used, the amount of water, the size of the beaker, the size of the cylinder and the amount of
the weight.
Results
The results of the experiment for the test of strength were that the Sparkle brand proved to be the
strongest. The average amount that the paper towel would hold before ripping was 583.6 g, which
was 159.2 g more than the Decorator brand held. The Decorator brand only held 424.4 g before it
ripped.
The results of the experiment for the test of absorbency were that the Sparkle brand proved to be
the most absorbent. The average amount of liquid that the Sparkle brand paper towel held was
17.4 mL, which was 4.6 mL more than the Decorator brand held. The Decorator brand only held
12.8 of liquid.

Sears Mission Statement
Problem or Need
Prior the 1980 s, Sears Holding Corporation (SHLD) managed to generate revenue and compete
among the top retailers in America (Kim, 2014). SHLD s current financial status reveals that they
are failing to maintain profitability. Having worked with SHLD for over two years, I have noticed
a slow decline in profits. The main reasons for SHLD mishaps are due to a lack of a satisfactory
mission statement (Sears Holding Corp, 2014), increased competition, insufficient marketing tools
and lack of bargaining power. All of these elements play a part in SHLD loss of profits.

Although SHLD is attempting to cut costs and capitalize off of their newly appointed loyalty
program, the company continues to manufacture quarterly losses (Sharf, 2014). Their lack of
profitability stems from an inadequate mission statement, increased competition, inadequate
marketing and lack of bargaining power. However, all of these aspects can be fixed to ensure
that SHLD becomes profitable again. This is why research needs to be completed. I need to
research ways combat competition, revitalize their marketing approach and increase their
bargaining power. Furthermore, I need to ensure that SHLD s modified mission statement
provides guidelines for the entire organization to follow. Once all of these aspects of SHLD are
fixed, I will present my results to my General Manager of SHLD eastern region. Prior to
presenting a formal report to my General Manager, I plan to excavate information from sources

Literary Devices Of Scene In Faking It By Michael Chabon
Most authors who implement the literary device of scene in their writing do so to establish an
entry point to the universal subject they are trying to portray. In literature, scene is an experience or
moment that the author explains in great detail through various devices in order to perceive that
time is slowed. In Faking It, Michael Chabondoes exactly this, utilizing a scene to introduce the
main point of his chapter. In my essay, ________ , I made a conscience effort to mimic this literary
device; however, failed to properly utilize it as an entry point. At the forefront of Faking It ,
Michael Chabon paints a descriptive scene in which he was attempting to install a towel rack in
the bathroom. To start the chapter, Chabon dictated that the only reason he was granted this
chore was because he knew, kind of, how to use an electric drill. He then provided a descriptive
image of his efforts, explaining how he read the instruction while sagely stroking [his]
whiskers...[looking] as if [he] knew what [he] was doing and then proceeded to [drop] one of the
metal towel bars onto [his] right thumb . Chabon continually comments and hints at his
inexperience and that he was forced to sustain the appearance of competence . This passage is a
perfectly crafted depiction of a scene: Chabon utilized both imagery and diction to illustrate a man
who was unaware of how to install a towel rack, yet felt compelled and pressured into assuming the
responsibility of doing so and

As we noted earlier, furniture has a significant effect on human health. Thus, it is essential to use
anthropometric data to guide the design of school desks and chairs.
However, because anthropometric measures vary among nations and ethnic groups and change over
time as populations and their environmental conditions change.
As a result, the anthropometric data used in the design of the equipment used in Turkish higher
education are based on anthropometric data from other countries and thus do not represent the
average body measurements of the Turkish people (Kayis, 1988; Turgut et al., 2004).

how he planned to get married, have children, begin a family with a house, maybe even a cottage

from the hard to mouth life he was used to. But then, all too quickly, this daydream is ripped from
him as his feet pressed to asphalt, continuing his never ending search for a job. With each step,
he finds his sense of revulsion increasing, and thus begins his doubts. He wonders if he was

Currently in Canada there are no government regulations placed upon video and film making. The
certification of Canadian films and videos is passed off to the Canadian National Film Board,
which has been charged with the duty of certifying on behalf of Her Majesty moving picture films,
separate sound film track, filmstrips and slides, videotape and sound recordings produced in
Canada or produced abroad by persons normally resident in Canada as being of an international
educational, scientific or cultural character (Canadian Film Certification Regulations). Therefore,
the only job of the Canadian National Film Board is to certify it a film classifies as Canadian, yet
does not regulate its content or distribution. This follows the same pattern as many countries such
as the United States, and the United Kingdom. If Canadian film and video was regulated by the
government, certainly some regulations may affect its growth compared to other countries without
regulations. While others would help guide the industry towards a new path of growth and success.
Canadian films and videos have, historically, had a difficult time breaking into the industry. With
our close neighbour the United States over taking all of the spotlight with their major motion
pictures. Given the longstanding difficulty Canadian made feature films have had in penetrating
Canadian movie theatres, television has been their most reliable means of distribution (Gasher,
Skinner, Lorimer, 2012,229). Certain Canadian government regulations on film and video could
help change this unbalanced representation of film and video in Canada. Government regulations
placed upon guaranteeing a certain amount of Canadian feature films playing in cinemas would
greatly benefit our film and video industry. Currently Hollywood is the dominant player in the

There are many types of massage, each with their own benefits to relieve stress, pain or enhance
general wellbeing. Massage is an ancient art with many variations depending on the country of
origin. I explore some of the most popular, explaining the treatment and their individual benefits.
Swedish Massage
Swedish massage, the most popular worldwide, is also known as Classic massage and is the
foundation for most other types of Western massage. It involves using firm but gentle pressure to
promote relaxation, working on areas of specific muscle tension. It is performed on bare skin
using oils or lotions. The therapist uses their hands, forearms or elbows to manipulate the
superficial layers of the muscles. Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by

deep kneading and compression movements over the neck, shoulder and scalp areas. Performed
sitting upright in a chair, it helps to clear the mind as it revitalizes and improves alertness and

Reflection On Micro Teaching
This essay will analyse and highlight on the fifteen minute micro teaching reflection that is vital for
the self evaluation and professional development of my teaching practice. It will further identify my
strengths and weaknesses through my peer assessment and reflect on the teaching and learning
theories, methods and strategies that are linked and practiced in my micro teach.
According to the teachers standards (DfE, 2012) teachers make the education of their learners their
first concern, keep their knowledge up to date and are self critical. Therefore, this reflection
practice will guide me towards the improvement on my lesson planning strategies and delivery. In
addition, it will also make an enormous difference in my teaching and learning practice which is
vital for teacher training.
One of the significant part of this course is micro teaching session, in this session we are
required to deliver fifteen minute planned lesson containing learning outcome. Furthermore, this
session was recorded and observed by the peers to evaluate. Due to my interest in ESOL I
decided to deliver my session on Boogle Puzzle to embed a simple literacy/numeracy activity
aims to target ESOL (English for speakers of other languages) learners. In this task, pupils are
given activity to make seven ten words in the English language from the word grid to improve
word recognition and spellings.
Based on reflection of my micro teaching I provided learners with the basic instructions on
Boggle puzzle and opted for potential instruction strategy. I used present, practice and produce
strategy (English language resource, 2017) to allow pupils to practice and learn new vocabulary
in co operative way. Similarly, I used co operative learning method to encourage pupils to learn
from each other and gain interpersonal skills. According to Johnson and Johnson (1995) co
operative learning method have proven effective in increasing motivation, self esteem and problem
solving. Thus, to enhance inter dependency, the class was divided into two main groups of fours
and were further divided into pairs, to finish their task. According to Mercer (1985) effective

Two Versions of the Song Roxanne Essay
Many say that music has evolved over the years. This essay shall explore the elements of two

The two songs which shall be scrutinized shall be Roxanne. Originally released in 1978, it was

The off beat sequences of the electric guitar create a reggae feel for the song endorsing it to be
mellow. Throughout the song, the electric guitardoes not have any solos but variations of its
sequence are repeated throughout the structure of the song. Doing so gives the lead singers
message more priority. The domination of the classic drum kit creates a head bobbing motion for
some when listening to this song, helping it become more popular and an easily enjoyable song.
The cover version of Roxanne (El tango de Roxanne) uses classical instruments to create a
genuine tango feel; violins, viola, cello and Spanish guitar. The song consists of many layers of
instruments creating a thick texture at times. With the violins being the base of this, the viola and
Spanish guitar both have solos instead of consistent melodies throughout the song, giving short
but addictive glimpses. As violins are presented in a certain way for this song, it is known that
the genre for this version is tango. The structure of the composition in the style of tango creates
sexual temptation. This creates the atmosphere for the style of dancing and is reflected in the
scene for this song. This genre was an excellent choice as it flows with the story line and amplifies
the prostitution through the style of music. One may say that it appeals to dancers, and the age

The Portrayal Analysis Of The Wild Hearts CanT Be Broken
Andrew Young once said, There s no problem on the planet that can t be solved without violence.
That s the lesson of the civil rights movement. Throughout any movement in U.S. history,
including the Civil Rights Movement people had to make sacrifices in order to fight for what
they believe to be right. Some people even lost their lives, which are some of the sacrifices Pink
is trying to tell us in her song, but she never will give up not matter the circumstances. The song,

Some examples of these were: African Americans can t play together, they can t attend the same
restaurants, schools, or even restrooms, and that white nurses in hospitals can t help an African
American male. From these laws came sacrifices that African Americans had to endure, even to
the point of death. A couple of the important deaths were Emmett Till who got killed after he
flirted with a white girl, and George Lee who tried to expose some of the Jim Crow Laws, and
died during one of his protests. These deaths were quite common until a man named, Martin Luther
King Jr. came into the picture. At the beginning of his campaign he wanted three things to happen:
Bring publicity to major civil rights activities and efforts, emphasize and encourage the importance
of non violent protest and resistance, provide leadership to the African American civil rights
movement. He did just that throughout the Civil Rights Movement, and was a major contributor
to the ending of the movement in 1968. In both the Civil Rights Movement and the song Wild

violence and grotesque that she witnessed in her youth (O Connor). The grandmother is a
woman who grew up during the times when racial diversity was more prevalent and clearly was
brought up by a successful family. A little sympathy could be shown towards the grandmother
since most of the narrative is through her eyes, but like The Misfit she has cruel intentions. The
sophisticated lifestyle she lived isolated her from all the harshness in the world and led to her to
believe that her way is always right. This is until The Misfit approaches her and his acquaintance
takes the remaining family to the woods to be murdered. The Misfit has his own internal logic
leading him to believe he is killing because that is what makes him happy, not because he is blood
thirsty. In fact, he is

Essay on Spier s Travel Agency
Abstract
An organization functions from the mission statement and the organizational structure. These
functions helps to make a company move smoother within departments, which is assigned to
individuals that are responsible for overseeing that part of the organization. The organization is
responsible with living out the purpose of their mission statement. The organizational structure
reflects from the operative goals to help the organization function accordingly. Operative goals
according to Daft, are performance goals, resource goals, marketing goals, employee development
goals, productivity goals, and goals for innovation and change (p. 63 4), in which the Spier s Travel

Once the organization performs the operative goals, the focus of the goals will help to provide
better performance goals, resource goals, marketing goals, employee development goals,

overall performance of for profit organizations. Profitability may be expressed in terms of net
income, earning per share, or return on investment (Daft, 2008, p. 63). The overall performance
will be acted upon by the sales that are promoted, and having the ability to open more available
travel agencies with new products and services to clients. On the other hand, resource goals are

interacting with employees and having the ability in accomplishing the clients goals of traveling

Analysis Of Rapunzel
In the tale Rapunzel , the whole plot is driven by the main conflict. Without the conflict in this
fairy tale, there would be no plot or drive of the story. The main character is constricted by
another character, and without this man vs. man conflict the outcome wouldn t make sense.
Throughout the story, the plot is completely wrapped around the conflict and affects the
sequence and pace of the plot overall. The leading problem presented in Rapunzel allows the
characters to fight and solve something to make up the plot and construct an outcome. The tale
Rapunzel takes place deep in a forest where a unborn girl is already set as a debt to a witch from
her parents. Once the girl is given to the witch and gets older, she is locked in a... Show more

If Rapunzel was never captured in the tower, the prince may have never found her that deep in
the forest, and heard her sing. A plot makes up a story, and a main part of the plot was the prince
finding his love and furtively planning an escape each day he came. However, Rapunzel was
locked away and the story encroaches with a series of events that are a result from this. When the
prince finds that Rapunzel is stuck up in the tower, he insists on marrying her, and does. They then
plan a way out, which sparks into another problem, in which that problem sparks into the
conclusion. Rapunzel is thrown out into the wild, and the prince is tricked and goes blind in the
process. However, these key details of the story are all essential to the outcome of the lovers finding
each other again. This is where a conflict can come to an end and be solved through the sequence of
events that all tie to the main conflict. After reading and analyzing this tale, one might argue that
the main conflict had more effect on the characters, than the plot of the story. Throughout the tale,
the characters are affected by the conflict, however, this ties into the effect that the conflict had on
the story overall. The characters didn t necessarily change, but the sequence of events did. The
conflict made up the plot, however it didn t make up the characters. The characters carried
themselves, it s the way they went about things whenever certain events occurred in the story. The

1. What are some ways the Christian gospel is perceived in our culture?
Christian gospel in many ways is perceived in this day and age are a lost word. People have the art
of praying and staying faithful to the word of God. God provided us with all kinds of blessings and
opportunities in life so that we can flourish and prosper. Also God took all our sinto the cross and
forgave us for everything we done that was not right in his eyes. We need to also understand that
there is only one God and we need to cherish it every day of our lives. Today s culture perceives the
Gospel almost the same was as old days but how man tries to rewrite the word to fits our society

4. What are some specific intellectual reasons people may reject the Christian gospel? Some of the
reasons intellectually that people reject the gospel is that they are not understanding or don t want
to understand the power that comes behind the word. The world develops minds that think and
breathe social media, television and other thing that separates us from the gospel. Other reasons
is that we are not discipline enough in our faith to want to learn the real truth behind the gospel.
The gospel tells us everything that God wants and have instore for us, until we get the discipline
to read and learn we as people will never know its meaning to make our lives better. 5. What can
Christians do to address these objections and better communicate the Christian gospel? We can just
be a testament to what beautiful blessings that we have received by being faithful to the word.
Christians need to show the non believers that there is good that comes out of having faith in the
gospel. Once non believers understand the word and how powerful it is sky s the limit on the many

My Experience Of Teens
It is truly astonishing how much we, as teens in the 21st century, take for granted. We go
through our day, as if everything we do is a given right, rather than a privilege that we have. We
don t ever stop to think about how so much, could be taken away from us in an instant. It was
Monday, June 5th, 2017. I had just come back from an invitational hockey camp in Canada and I
was up bright and early that morning so that I could go to Westridge and take my last two finals
of the year. By the time I had gotten in the car, it was 7:20 in the morning, and I felt ready to take
my finals. While in the car, my mom was listening to KBS radio station. I wasn t completely
listening, but from what I could hear, the station was talking about a single engine planecrash in the
Santa Rosa Valley that happened the other day. They were just mentioning how the two victims
in the plane crash were identified just as I was getting out of the car. From there, I tried to clear
my mind of everything and just reviewed the things that I knew. I walked onto campus with my
face inside a binder and although I knew the material, I attempted to cram even more useless
information into my brain. I stopped in front of my math classroom when I felt my phone
ringing inside of my crossbody bag, against my hip. I grabbed my phone out of my bag to see that I
already had 4 missed calls from one of my good friends, Miles Brodey. Assuming that Miles would
be calling me with a purpose, I adjourned my terse review

What Does Corporate Responsibility Mean
What Does Corporate Social Responsibility Mean?
Corporate initiative to assess and take responsibility for the company s effects on the environment
and impact on social welfare. The term generally applies to company efforts that go beyond what

Corporate social responsibility may also be referred to as corporate citizenship and can involve
incurring short term costs that do not provide an immediate financial benefit to the company, but

The term corporate social responsibility came into common use in the late 1960s and early 1970s
after many multinational corporations formed the term stakeholder, meaning those on whom an
organization s activities have an impact. It was used to describe corporate owners beyond
shareholders as a result of an influential book by R. Edward Freeman, Strategic management: a
stakeholder approach in 1984.[2] Proponents argue that corporations make more long term profits
by operating with a perspective, while critics argue that CSR distracts from the economic role of
businesses. Others argue CSR is merely window dressing, or an attempt to pre empt the role of
governments as a watchdog over powerful multinational corporations.
CSR is titled to aid an organization s mission as well as a guide to what the company stands for
and will uphold to its consumers. Development business ethics is one of the forms of applied
ethics that examines ethical principles and moral or ethical problems that can arise in a business
environment. ISO 26000 is the recognized international standard for CSR. Public sector
organizations (the United Nations for example) adhere to the triple bottom line (TBL). It is widely
accepted that CSR adheres to similar principles but with no formal act of legislation. The UN has
developed the Principles for Responsible Investment as guidelines for investing entities. corporate

Louis Pasteur s How To Vaccinate Against Infectious Disease
Louis Pasteur discovered how to vaccinate against infectious disease, but it was a long process
before he got to that point. He first studied the process of fermentation, which is when sugars are
turned into alcohol. When a vinegar manufacturer wanted to know why his vinegar was spoiling,
Pasteur found that it was because yeast (a microscopic fungus) had come in contact with the
juice. He found that by heating the beet juice to a controlled temperature, the yeast was killed,
and the fermentation process was stopped. Today this process is known as pasteurization, and it
is applied to all kinds of food such as milk and cheese. He took what he had learned and
eventually isolated the organism that was causing silk worm eggs to be infected with disease and
developed a method to prevent the eggs from becoming... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This saved the silk industry. Eventually, he applied his knowledge to the medical industry by
asking doctors to sterilize their medical instruments by heating them to prevent the spread of
germs. After two of his children died of typhoid fever, Pasteur wanted to know if there was a way
to protect the body from germs. When an anthrax epidemic broke out among animals, he
discovered that the anthrax bacillus was the carrier of the disease. By using the heating method he
used to kill the yeast in food, Pasteur heated the bacillus enough to weaken it, and then he injected
it into the animals to allow their bodies to build up a resistance against the bacteria. It worked, and
Pasteur eventually developed a vaccine for rabies and other infectious diseases like cholera and
smallpox. Pasteur had many questions that motivated his discoveries. Where are the micro
organisms coming from that cause fermentation? Can the fermentation process be stopped? If
fermentation can be stopped in food, can that same concept be applied to protect the body from
infectious disease? Then there was the motivation initiated through the

Emerson Vs Whitman
Transcendental philosophy focuses on the divinity of every person which could only be discovered
if the individual has the freedom of psyche to do as such. Ralph Waldo Emerson and Walt Whitman
are renowned transcendentalist authors whose work reflect ideals of non conformity, self belief and
self worth revolving around the orientation of the American Community. In Emerson s Self
Reliance he argues for individuals to aspire to an original understanding of the world and its
functions rather than cling on to the ideas of the past. Furthermore that there is a divine connection
between man and nature that aids in his perception of what is good and evil, concluding virtue
flows from intuition not from society. Similarly Whitman s Song of Myself ... Show more content

to seek no answers outside of oneself. Whitman furthers this idea adding you shall no longer take
things at second or third hand, nor look through the eyes of the dead, nor feed on the specters in
books...you shall listen to all sides and filter them from yourself. Whitman and Emerson focus on
the value of forming your own path and understanding your relationship with everything in society
to be better off. They take the stance that institutions like school and church operate in a manner
which restrict the individual. These institutions as a whole being against the freedom of the

Analysis Of Joan Rivers By The New York Daily News
As per an article highlighting Joan Rivers prolific death in 2014 by the New York Daily News
(NYDN) (2015), Joan s daughter, Melissa Rivers, has filed a multimillion dollar lawsuit against
both the clinic at which her mother was falsely operated upon and the group of physicians who
treated her. In her claims, as noted by the NYDN (2015), her 81 year old mother s death was
completely preventable and was due to completely ambiguous, amateur mistakes committed by
those who operated upon her. In the official documents obtained by the New York Daily News,
Melissa has filed accounts of malpractice against the clinic Yorkville Endoscopy (the clinic
where her mother was treated) and the five physicians involved in the case. The clinic and the
five physicians aforementioned have been recognized as the defendants in this litigation. In
Melissa s belief, according to the NYDN (2015), the coma that aroused her mother s death was
triggered by the negligent and impulsive behaviors of the physicians and the clinic that housed
her during her diagnostic procedure. According to reports, Joan Rivers, who incurred days of an
abnormal hoarseness of her voice, sought diagnosis of a possible medical condition at an
outpatient facility situated in the Upper East Side of New York City by the name of Yorkville

Canon Scripture And Canon Of Scripture
Canon of Scripture When we talk about Scripture, we have to discuss the source of our revelation.
In fact, without an understanding and personal standpoint/beliefs on the canon of Scripture, one is
not able to build a solid foundation in other matters regarding Scripture, including the authority of
Scripture, the inerrancy, the clarity, the necessity, and the sufficiency. Often the canon of Scripture
is a prevalent topic in the Christian faith among believers as there is a debate which books of the
Holy Bible are considered to be part of the canon. However, although there are other books that have
been added (including the Deutro Chronical Books in the Roman Catholic church), there are in fact
only 66 books in the canon of Scripture. There are 39 Old Testament books and 27 New Testament
books that are included in the canon of Scripture. While some churches (including the Roman
Catholic Church) believe that the church should determine what books are in the New Testament
canon, God is responsible for the canon of Scripture. The Old Testament canon includes the
Pentateuch Books (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy), the Historical Books
(Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra,
Nehemiah, and Ester), the Poetical Books (Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of
Solomon), and the Prophetical Books ( Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel,

cash from sales) and external sources of finance from outside the business (e.g. a bank loan).
There is a need of external financing for the expansion through acquisition. External financing is
a good source of raising money besides internal funds. As per business finance, external
financing can take the shape of two different types of financing, debt or equity. Debt financing
includes bank loans where a company gets financed by issuing debentures which they have to
pay back after a certain period of time. It is called debt financing because the company is in debt
to the bond holders and if they were to go bankrupt, the bond holders would have claim to any
remaining assets. In this case these are secured business loans. Equity financing is when a
company decides to give up ownership in the company to raise funds. This is usually done by
selling company stock to investors. Sometimes this could include seeking out angel investors or
venture capitalists. If you are expecting to get external financing through equity financing make
sure that your business has a product or service that is unique, and that there is a high demand for
your product or service. Most venture capital investors or even angel investors will not look at an
offer unless they see a large growth potential. (2)

The Issue Of A Child s Life On My Intersex Child
In society today, people are always told what gender to be. For example, if a masculine man
wants to wear a dress, he will be shunned from society because dresses are for girls therefore he
shouldn t be wearing one. Now for an intersex baby , the doctors practically decide for the child
what sex they want the baby to be. Doctors will make up lies and tell the parents that it is
necessary for to have surgery because of the baby s health but that s a huge fallacy. If given the
opportunity to choose the genderon my intersex child, I would oppose toward the surgery of
modifying his or her sex. I may not be conforming with the social norm, but I also strongly believe
that my child should make the choice of what gender they want to be when they are older.
Intersex babies nowadays are being decided what sex they will be according to what the doctor
prefers. Parents are being told that their babies have to have surgery because if not, then they
may become sick in the long run. This is absolutely not true. That so called sickness that doctors
refer to is just a matter of being able to fit into society. For example, in Dueling Dualisms by
Fausto sterling, she argues that the issue is that because one is born a certain sex that that s the
gender role they are suppose to play in society. She writes that what is at issue is the embodied
nature of identities and experience. Experience is not individual and fixed, but irredeemably social
and processual. With this being said, as a

What To Do About A Chip In Your Windshield
If you re driving down the road and a big truck flings road debris against your windshield and
damages it, you re faced with the decision of whether to drive with the damage or call for
roadside repairs. Each situation is different, but generally, it isn t safe to drive with a damaged
windshield, and it may even be against the law in your jurisdiction. Fortunately, you can call a
mobile windshield repair truck to come to your location, whether it is by the road, at your work, or
at home. Here is some information about how the repair process works.
Evaluation Of The Damage
The first decision the glass contractor has to make is whether to repair or replace the
windshield. Even if the glass has to be replaced, it can usually be done at a mobile location. One
thing that determines if the glass can be repaired is the location of the chip. If it is directly in

of pocket or if the contractor can bill your insurance company. If your windshield has to be

no cost to you.
Whether your insurance company pays for the repairs or not, you don t want to put off fixing the
glass. A sudden temperature change or hitting a bump in the road could cause the chip to send
out cracks that lead to further damage. When the glass is cracked, it isn t stable. That means you
aren t protected as well in case of an accident. Plus, if the damage spreads into your line of sight, it
could pose a danger when you re driving down the road. Make it a priority to repair your damaged
windshield as soon as you can so you stay safe when you

Also steadily increasing is the ROE ratio, this high ratio indicates a good conversion of the owner s
contributions to profit. Ryman HealthCare s probability graph has a trend of increasing at a fast
rate (See Figure 2), this is shown predominantly by total revenue which has the largest growing
slope, followed by EBITDA and NPAT. The broker Deutsche Bank have said to hold the shares in
Ryman HealthCare while Forsyth Barr has said to buy the shares in this business. (RYMAN
HEALTHCARE LIMITED RYM (ORDINARY SHARES), 2017)
Through the analysis of Spark NZ Ltd and Ryman HealthCare Ltd, Ryman HealthCare has an
increasing trend of both ratios, unlike Spark which has both positive and negative aspects to the
ratios. Due to Ryman HealthCare having continued growth in profitability and an upward trend in
the graph, with the broker s recommendation of buying shares, Ryman HealthCare has favorable
profitability.

Increasing Trend Of Non Albicans Cutaneous Candidiasis
Increasing trend in Non albicans Cutaneous Candidiasis: Implications in treatment strategies
Introduction:
Cutaneous candidiasis is a secondary infection of the skin (body folds) and nails in predisposed
patients.1 The disease involvement may be localised or generalised to the skin or nails.2
The clinical manifestations of Candidiasis are of three types: mucocutaneous, cutaneous, and
systemic.3 The spectrum of Cutaneous candidiasis (CC): includes intertrigo, diaper candidiasis,
paronychia, and onychomycosis.4 Infections thrush, intertrigo, enterogastritis and others have long
been known to be due to abnormal proliferation of Candida cells.5
Candida species other than C.albicans have become a significant cause of infection in humans.6
Several of these species are less susceptible to commonly used azole antifungal drugs.6
Hence, the identification of the Candida isolates upto species level along with their antifungal
susceptibility patterns can greatly influence the treatment options for the clinicians and may have
an impact on the patient care.7 Hence this study was done.
Aims and objectives:
1.To isolate Candida species from suspected cases of Cutaneous Candidiasis.
2.To speciate the isolated Candida.
3.To find the antifungal susceptibility for voriconazole and fluconazole among the isolates.

Egypt is one of most water stressed country in the world. Two reasons which directly leads to
water scarcity in Egypt. One of main reason is location, Egypt is located in Africa, and surrounded
by Israel, Libya, Sudan and Red Sea, in addition, most areas of Egypt are deserts, these deserts
cause hot and dry climate (Wolvetang 2015). Inefficient irrigation also leads to water scarcity in

Essay On Elonis
In today s society, we as a nation showcase our lives through social media. The case, Elonis vs.
The United States, the petitioner, Anthony Douglas Elonis, is no different. He was an inspiring
rap artist and was using Facebook as a platform to share his lyrics. After his divorce, things got
out of hand. He started to post threatful lyrics about his wife, co workers, and a kindergarten
school. One of his friends saw these post and decided to report it. The FBI ended up getting
involved and before long Elonis found out and started to post about the FBI agent. The FBI then
had enough of it, so they arrested him. At the lower court the jury of his peers felt that the post
constituted a reasonable threat and sentenced him to 44 months in prison. He, of course, appealed
it, sending it to the Supreme Court, saying that his intent was not threatful. The Supreme... Show

This form of sharing is generally intended to generate a response from others. With all things in
life not everything is going to be one sided. We will get responses that are not positive towards
our intentions. Even on private pages our thoughts and ideas become public. Screenshots are
taken and shared with the world. We have to be careful how we share and what we share.
Especially, in a professional setting. This case is a prime example of such. In conclusion, we
can walk away from this case. We learn from this case not everything that is useful is helpful.
Elonis artistic ability to write lyrics was certainly useful to his career, but it was not helpful in
advancing his career. We can learn that words do indeed hurt those around us. In this case, even
the fan who followed Elonis was in some way hurt by these lyrics. He was concerned enough to
take time out of his day and report his concerns. We learned that we need to not be such an
impulsive society when it comes to social media, but to think things through

Spaniards usually don t follow times or schedules. In one of the books the author writes
Although you should be punctual yourself, keep in mind that el tiempo is como el espacio in
Spain or, time is space . (Sabath 217) Spaniards are not extremely concerned with punctuality. It s
expected to wait for some of the meeting members to arrive around 15 to 30 minutes late.
Decisions are not usually made in the business meetings; it is mainly for discussions and
exchange of ideas. Dinners are usually more sociable and there is not much business talk; if there
is any business talk it should only be done if the Spanish host initiates it. The business
conversations usually take place during lunch meetings around two in the afternoon. Meetings
that are held during dinner are usually held after nine. This is due to the fact that most places
have siestas (break period in which restaurants and stores close for a few hours) and they reopen
late in the afternoon. Therefore, it s a good idea to take advantage of the siesta and be ready for the
late night meetings. If you are the one hosting a meeting dinner and would like to bring your
spouse, you should expand the invitations to the Spaniard s contact s spouse. Besides being able to
communicate verbally with the Spaniards, it is also important to understand their non verbal
communications. Body

The Great War lasted four years and changed the whole world and so I shall be looking at how R. C.
Sherriff and Peter Whelan developed the protagonists in their plays to reflect the impact the war
had, not just on the world, but also on the individuals involved in war. May Hassle and Dennis
Stanhope were clearly affected greatly by war; May, by what the war took from her, Tom; and
Stanhope, by what the war gave him.
All throughout the war May s change of character becomes more and more apparent, finally ending
with her having a hallucination. This is used to really emphasise how much she has changed and
how the horrors of war doesn t just affect those fighting, but those at home also. The main factor
that affects May is Tom s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The woman being older in a relationship, even today, is still frowned upon. This age gap would
also conflict with the spiritual way in which she was taught. The hero of the play being female is
rather unconventional but May s character has been specifically chosen to keep the other
conventions. Susan Bordo University of Kansas said that, in protagonist roles men are usually
virile, muscular and powerful . May shows all of these characteristics apart from being male and
so her masculinity compensates for this. Her strong character is shown by how she doesn t take
no for an answer, You have to ferret and burrow and not take no . which shows that she s not
afraid to stick up for herself a characteristic which main characters generally show at least once in
their story. Her leadership/dominance of the characters in the play is also a point which portrays
her strength to the audience, Take Miss Mason s things and put them in the scullery, Tom. The
imperative here Take and the lack of a please emphasises her strength and shows her control over
the other characters, or in this case, Tom, which further stresses this point and the fact that she s

Personality Of The Joker

Actor s name: The Joker
The Joker has a personality of persistent, fearless, high intelligence, and aggression.
The Joker holds a strength of being persistent in the things he does. He makes sure that his plans
will turn out as how he planned it to be. Even though there were complication in between, he
makes sure he finds alternatives to get his job done. Take for an example, when the top mob
members of the Gotham city were having a meeting discussing about the illegal money stash has
been tracked down by the police officers. Joker shows up and proposed a plan to help the mobsters
to find a better way to deal with their business in the future which includes in killing Batman and by
taking half cut of the money as reward. Because Gambol thinks that the plan was ridiculous, they
declined it and threatened to kill The Joker. This however did not stop him. He took the

This personality can help him to find the ways to complete whatever he thinks that it is
important. For instance, Batman is catching the criminals continuously as this is what he
wanted to do when he started to be Batman. Batman is a rule oriented person. This can be good
because Batman would not easy to be seduced by any person with any offer as he barely break
his own rules. Hence, Batman is considered as a thoughtful person as he would think about any
possible consequences before he takes any action. And yet, this may become his weakness. It is
because he would be inflexible in his life whenever he is facing problems and situations. For
example, a few people died because of Batman indirectly. It is because he could not fulfill the
Joker s request which he has to show his real face to the public. He suffered and almost surrender

Now not all blacks were slaves there were free blacks in the south roughly a quarter million who
had bought their freedom and moved on to own their own land and slaves. The south was known
for their large tobacco and cotton fields, which required daily excruciating backbreaking labor.
Slave hands were what made this possible to complete and continue for too long. Not all slaves
were out working the plantation or fields, there were also slaves doing everything from carpentry
and masonry work to raising children and not necessarily their own children. This was a way of
life in the south and without that amount of work; being completed that the slaves were responsible
for, the ability to sustain life would be imaginable. As the civil war erupted all war worthy
confederate males left their home to defend the southern states against the Union Army. At this time
the minimal amount of personnel were left at home to support the family and continue to work
the land while maintaining a positive outlook and forward progress. Times were rough for the
south if the land was not worked then the crops could not be sold and the family had no income or

Legally Blonde Was Released, Telling The Story Of Elle Woods
Fourteen years ago, the romantic comedy Legally Blonde was released, telling the story of Elle
Woods, a ditzy sorority girl who follows her ex boyfriend, Warner, to Harvard Law School in
hopes of proving to him that she is not just another dumb blonde and winning him back. Elle
studies hard, forgets about Warner, and ends up graduating as valedictorian with job offers from
multiple prestigious law firms. While making audiences laugh, the movie also inspired those who
were undervalued and doubted by others to go to college, with the message that if they studied and
worked hard enough, anything is possible. However, regardless of work ethic and intelligence, this
aspiration is impossible for most. Even if one is accepted into their dream university, there is still
the underlying issue of how they will pay for their education. For many, college is an important
step in achieving success, but paying for a high quality college education is impossible. Even
for those who find a way to pay, their chances of success are sabotaged by the price of their
degree, despite the importance of a college education. Although in the twenty first century there
is significant emphasis on the necessity of a college degree, qualified students are prevented
from reaching their full potential because of the rising cost of a college education. College prices
are rapidly rising; public four year college tuitions are rising at an average of 5.6% every year,
while public two year college tuitions are

Abstract Fast Distributed Mining (FDM) which generates a small number of candidate set and
substantially reduce the number of messages to be passed at mining association rules. Distributed
data mining offers a way by data can be shared without compromising privacy. A protocol for
secure mining of association rules in horizontally distributed databases. The main ingredients in
the existing protocol are two novel secure multi party algorithms one that computes the union of
private subsets that each of the interacting players hold and another that tests the inclusion of an
element held by one player in a subset held by another. In order to improve the performance of
the system it presents the subgroup discovery concept in this system. The paper present secure
protocols for the task of top k subgroup discovery on horizontally partitioned data. In this setting,
all sites use the same set of attributes and the quality of every subgroup depends on all databases.

Physical Effects Of Virtual Reality
VIRTUAL REALITY
When many people think of the term virtual reality , they imagine someone wired up to a computer,
wearing an odd helmet and making weird movements in the air. Well, this is partly true. However,
virtual reality is basically computer simulated reality.
VIRTUAL REALITY is a computergenerated environment that is created by combining audio,
visual and tactile human/computer interfaces to simulate a real world environment. Virtual reality
means that the user is fully immersed in a world of artificial environment that the computer has
generated.
One of the most common and simplest applications of virtual reality is your 3D movie. The 3D

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM GENETIC ALGORITHMS?
Nearly everyone can gain benefits from Genetic Algorithms, once he can encode solutions of a
given problem to chromosomes in GA, and compare the relative performance (fitness) of solutions.
An effective GA representation and meaningful fitness evaluation are the keys of the success in GA
applications.
Gas are useful and efficient when the search space is large, complex or poorly understood,
traditional search methods fail, domain knowledge is scarce or expert knowledge is difficult to
encode to narrow the search space and no mathematical analysis is available. The advantage of the
GA approach is the ease with which it can handle arbitrary kinds of constraints and objectives; all
such things can be handled as weighted components of the fitness function, making it easy to adapt
the GA scheduler to the particular requirements of a very wide range of possible overall objectives.

The Chicago River was settled by Native American tribes and they were the first to discover the
portage between the Chicago River and Des Plaines River. The portage of the river is a valuable
to Europeans since it is linked to the Great Lakes with the Mississippi that is a good way to
export and import goods and the shipbuilding industry. The river has been reversed in 1889 by
the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal to keep the sewage clean and flushing filthy water into
Lake Michigan due to the waterborne diseases that people were dying of to cholera or. Later
again in 1922 the Cal Sag Channel built a channel to lock out too much lake water from going into
the river because states sued Chicago that they were using to much of Lake Michigan s water to

the river because the river is fenced and some people still remember the awful stinky smell and
the black color. The purpose of this field trip was to go test the different chemicals that are in the

Struggle Of Family And War
Struggle of Family and War
Our family life was pretty good. My husband Anthony would go to work and the kids played. But
that didn t last for long. I had to pay taxes for things like sugar and documents and if that didn t
put me into debt then there was the tea act and that angered us all because we already paid tax
and now tea! Even though it is way less of tax I could be a trick. We don t even get
Representation so why are we paying these taxes! Thankfully we have the Sons of Liberty to show
Britain to back off and we formed a unity with the colonies called the Committees of
Correspondence . But even that did not last. Shortly after, Britain banned the Committees of
Correspondence and what affected me most was that they forced us to buy the tea and if we didn t
they would close the Boston harbor.
My husband says, we don t need to pay for the tea we can wait for others to pay for the tea and
then get the thing we want. But that is not what I do first of all I need my tea, and second I feel
like I should help the other people to pay for the tea. You thought this was it? Well it s not, there
was then the Townshend act which let british soldiers live in out house and take all of our things.
This just got my family into debt, deep debt.
Today my family still is in debt and I still can t pay it off and now when my two little girls want
something I have to say no, but they don t cry or throw a fit they just frown and look outside. They

from pursuing his dreams (Bio.com). Pele developed his kicking skills by kicking a rolled up
sock stuffed with rags around the streets of Bauru ; he learned to kick a soccer ball without even
having one (Bio.com). Pele took on many unusual jobs to help his family earn a little bit more
money (Bio.com). Later in life, Pele found him placed in the Bauru Athletic Club (Bio.com). He

Effects Of Drug Legalization

According to the national institute on Drug Abuse, Abuse of tobacco, alcohol, and illicit drugs is
costly to our Nation, exacting more than $740 billion annually in costs related to crime, lost work
productivity and health care (NIDA. 2017, April 24). The rising of illicit drug smuggling and abuse
raised questions about legalizing all drug. Although some people think that drugs legalization is a
way to control illicit drug use, it seems that it will do more damage to our society than it will help.
This essay will help us understand all the implications regarding all drugs legalization in this
country.
Drug abuse in general and illicit drug use are one of the most difficult challenges that face all
states around the world. Let us imagine a father with his kids at home who possess a gun without
a safe to secure his gun. Is this family safe? Similarly, legalizing drugs will be a permanent danger
to our society in many aspects.
Firstly, drugs legalization will result in an increased number of users of drug and substance abuse
resulting in high utilization of healthcare services. For instance, legalization of marijuana in
Colorado resulted in an increased healthcare utilization related to marijuana exposure and an
exacerbation of chronic health condition (Monte, Zane Heard. 2015. p. 241). In this example,
legalization means an increased of drug availability and therefore will be accessible

Identity In Jean-Luc Nancy s Examined Life
Identity is an extremely tricky thing. Over the years, people have failed to define it properly. It is
both elusive and complicated. In Jean Luc Nancy s Identity, he struggles to explain that mysterious
puzzle that is an entity s identity.
Right at the start of Nancy s Identity, Nancy stresses that the state has no power over a nation s
identity. He declares, the state is only ever the instrument of the nation: It is not its role to define,
and even less to constitute, the identity of the nation (Nancy 1). Right away, this shows that identity
is a sort of hard to truly pin down. It is somewhat ethereal in nature. More importantly though, he

  • 2. San Meba Essay Cabana translates to cabin in English and boy unless you ve been living out in the Cibola National Forest foraging for berries and getting one with the wilderness, you have to have heard there is a fever spreading throughout town for this place. Te he. A few cabin puns. See what I did there? Headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, they specialize in fast casual Mexican food. You couldn t tell this was a chain of joints (currently, there are 166 company owned locations) due to it s seemless integration into Albuquerque s go to, 24 hour, grab a half dozen flautas after funneling tequila into your face type of eateries. San Anton has to be the undisputed King of Tex Mex so I m not surprised T.C. claims them as their barrio. I ll lead off with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you wanna go a wee bit milder, try the Verde with ripe tomatillos, jalapenos, cilantro, and garlic. Yum, garlic. Finally, they present a Fuego salsa. Fuego just speaks to the flame grilled tomatoes they use with jalapenos not really an indication of the heat level. There is true gastronomic magical metamorphosis that occurs when you roast veggies over an open flame. Few things on Earth tantalize my tasters like fire roasted veggies. Moving on to the rest of what TC has to offer. Ive only had the pleasure of dining at their Heights location off of Montgomery where they feature their trademark open air dining. The seating flows seemlessly inside, out, and back in again. Big honkin sturdy booths fill the space. Heavy hard tiles below your feet. Bright colors blended with deep rich cremes and turquoise bring the Southwest even more to the forefront. All of the asthetics you experience once entering the establishment lead you to a slightly exhibitionist style kitchen where they are crankin out mouthwatering tried and true top quality Tex Mex. If your like me, its hard for you to decide on one platter or one meal choice. They have you covered with the Cabana Sampler. • 3. Analysis Of The Movie Waiting For Superman Danny kinder key Waiting for Superman 2010 Mr. Davis Guggenheim an American film director and producer wrote and directed Waiting for Superman , a documentary that deals with the American education system. Guggenheim argues that they are failing more each year in producing successful students. He finds where the faults are within the public educational system. He takes the time to show us some of the faces to those numbers to make his pubic realize they are more than just numbers dropping off the charts. He wishes to not only inform, but also to inspire others to act. This essay expresses how he portrays his arguments effectively; also identifying and analyzing the strategies that Guggenheim uses to organize and develop his ideas and determine who his intended audience is. Guggenheim successfully persuades his audience, first by using the ethos appeal. He does this by opening his film by explaining that as parent, he also worries and cares for the success of his own children and is very aware of the degradation of the public education. He is also being fair minded as he opens up about a previous film he created where he was actually supporting the idea that public schools worked. Although he held those beliefs up so highly once, he s now changed opinion. Guggenheim sincerely expressing why this has happened saying, Ten years later, it was time to choose a school for my own children...and then reality set in. My feelings about ... • 4. How Did Marie Antoinette Cause The French Revolution Hayley Ross Mrs. Parks 1/24/15 Red Winter Research Paper We were born free and equal. Now we are all chained (The Philosophies of Enlightenment Rousseau). This is what Rousseau thought about equality. He believed that everyone is free and deserves equality but society puts people in different classes. During the enlightened time period, they started to realize that everyone no matter your place in society deserved equality ( Famous people of the revolution 2013). This realization is what caused the revolution not the mistakes made by Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI. It all started November 2, 1755, the day Marie Antoinette was born. The biggest thing she was victimized for was the diamond necklace scandal. In 1781 Marie Antoinette was approached by Charles Boehmer about buying a necklace with 647 diamonds on it. Boehmer created the necklace for Louis XV, before he could finish the necklace Boehmer died. Later on he realized that he needed to sell the necklace to avoid financial ruin. When he approached Marie, she knew it was way too expensive for her to buy and she would not wear something that was intended for someone else. Boehmer continued to bother her to purchase it on several other occasions (Lotz 100). Later on Marie s friend Jeanne informed Boehmer that she would be able to convince her to purchase the necklace. After she promised him that she would get Marie to reconsider she went to Cardinal de Rohan and told him that Marie wanted to purchase the necklace. She also told him that she didn t think it was wise for her to purchase it in person. He agreed to negotiate the purchase of the necklace with his own money (Lotz 104). Jeanne promised that Marie would pay him back over the next two years. After Cardinal de Rohan came to an agreement with Boehmer, the jeweler, the necklace was given to Jeanne so that she could give it to the queen. After Jeanne got hold of the necklace she then gave it to her husband to go sell in London. Not knowing what happened, Boehmer waited for the queen to show off his wonderful necklace, he waited feast day after feast day for her to wear it. He decided to write a letter to her saying he was glad the necklace was in her hands. Marie Antoinette not knowing what he was implying, burned the letter. Boehmer was having a financial crisis and need the money that he was owed. He decided he did not want to approach the queen directly and decided to talk to Madame Campan, her chief waiter, to inform her that she owed him money. She did not know of any such ... Singleton and Curtis Linton in Chapter Five of Courageous Conversations About Race broach the topic of race, by asking the reader to evaluate his or her own consciousness of race. According to the authors, in order to address the achievement gaps between African American students and White students, educators should shift their energy towards focusing on the factors that they have direct control of inside the classroom rather than on the factors that influence this achievement disparity between races outside the classroom. The first step towards addressing the racial achievement gap begins with educators addressing his or her individual racial attitudes for, as the authors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Growing up in Park Ridge, Illinois was significantly different from where I was born in Morristown, New Jersey. One of the most startling differences was apparent in the make up of the student body. In Morristown, I attended an elementary school with a diverse student body; many of my schoolmates were African American and I remember even at a young age, students regardless of race interacting all together without any sense of stigma attached to it. In that sense, while attending elementary school, since it was the norm to have friends of different races, I did not think very much of my race. However, in contrast to living in Morristown, when I moved to Park Ridge, Illinois at the start of middle school, I will never forget meeting my classmates for the first time only to realize not one was of a different race. In fact, there was not one African American in my entire middle school! This was shocking to me. Transferring from a diverse school community to a completely homogenous school community made me more aware of my race simply because there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Lab Report on Paper Towels Which Paper Towel is Stronger and Has More Absorbency? Decorator or Sparkle? Introduction Paper towels are made from softwood trees which contain long fibers. The tree goes thru several processes before it is actually turned into a paper towel. The paper towel is made from pulp in which the water is removed and the fibers then bond into sheets. Also, resin is added to the process to give the paper towel strength (Union). Several layers are then put together with adhesive and then formed into a paper towel (Choudhury). SHLD s current financial status reveals that they are failing to maintain profitability. Having worked with SHLD for over two years, I have noticed a slow decline in profits. The main reasons for SHLD mishaps are due to a lack of a satisfactory mission statement (Sears Holding Corp, 2014), increased competition, insufficient marketing tools and lack of bargaining power. • 9. Literary Devices Of Scene In Faking It By Michael Chabon Most authors who implement the literary device of scene in their writing do so to establish an entry point to the universal subject they are trying to portray. In literature, scene is an experience or moment that the author explains in great detail through various devices in order to perceive that time is slowed. In Faking It, Michael Chabondoes exactly this, utilizing a scene to introduce the main point of his chapter. In my essay, ________ , I made a conscience effort to mimic this literary device; however, failed to properly utilize it as an entry point. At the forefront of Faking It , Michael Chabon paints a descriptive scene in which he was attempting to install a towel rack in the bathroom. To start the chapter, Chabon dictated that the only reason he was granted this chore was because he knew, kind of, how to use an electric drill. He then provided a descriptive image of his efforts, explaining how he read the instruction while sagely stroking [his] whiskers...[looking] as if [he] knew what [he] was doing and then proceeded to [drop] one of the metal towel bars onto [his] right thumb . Chabon continually comments and hints at his inexperience and that he was forced to sustain the appearance of competence . This passage is a perfectly crafted depiction of a scene: Chabon utilized both imagery and diction to illustrate a man who was unaware of how to install a towel rack, yet felt compelled and pressured into assuming the responsibility of doing so and ... As we noted earlier, furniture has a significant effect on human health. Thus, it is essential to use anthropometric data to guide the design of school desks and chairs. However, because anthropometric measures vary among nations and ethnic groups and change over time as populations and their environmental conditions change. As a result, the anthropometric data used in the design of the equipment used in Turkish higher education are based on anthropometric data from other countries and thus do not represent the average body measurements of the Turkish people (Kayis, 1988; Turgut et al., 2004). 2.1 ERGONOMICS AND BRANCHES Ergonomics permeates every aspect of human endeavor. The domination of the classic drum kit creates a head bobbing motion for some when listening to this song, helping it become more popular and an easily enjoyable song. The cover version of Roxanne (El tango de Roxanne) uses classical instruments to create a genuine tango feel; violins, viola, cello and Spanish guitar. In fact, without an understanding and personal standpoint/beliefs on the canon of Scripture, one is not able to build a solid foundation in other matters regarding Scripture, including the authority of Scripture, the inerrancy, the clarity, the necessity, and the sufficiency. Often the canon of Scripture is a prevalent topic in the Christian faith among believers as there is a debate which books of the Holy Bible are considered to be part of the canon. Debt financing includes bank loans where a company gets financed by issuing debentures which they have to pay back after a certain period of time. It is called debt financing because the company is in debt to the bond holders and if they were to go bankrupt, the bond holders would have claim to any remaining assets. Now for an intersex baby , the doctors practically decide for the child what sex they want the baby to be. Doctors will make up lies and tell the parents that it is necessary for to have surgery because of the baby s health but that s a huge fallacy. If given the opportunity to choose the genderon my intersex child, I would oppose toward the surgery of modifying his or her sex. I Have Been Asked To Write This Recommendation Introduction I have been asked to write this recommendation for Robert who is looking to invest his money of $20,000 into either Spark NZ Ltd or Ryman Healthcare Ltd. Robert is interested in his money being invested as he is focused on the potential growth which could occur over a period of time. Formed in 1987 Spark NZ Ltd (SPK) is a telecommunication company who provide a range of services not only specializing in mobile networks but broadband, and smartphones. Listed on the stock exchange firstly in 1991 as Telecom (TEL), in 2011 Chorus was split from this company creating one retail provider (Telecom) and one service provider (Chorus). Ryman HealthCare s probability graph has a trend of increasing at a fast rate (See Figure 2), this is shown predominantly by total revenue which has the largest growing slope, followed by EBITDA and NPAT. The broker Deutsche Bank have said to hold the shares in Ryman HealthCare while Forsyth Barr has said to buy the shares in this business. (RYMAN HEALTHCARE LIMITED RYM (ORDINARY SHARES), 2017) Through the analysis of Spark NZ Ltd and Ryman HealthCare Ltd, Ryman HealthCare has an increasing trend of both ratios, unlike Spark which has both positive and negative aspects to the ratios. Due to Ryman HealthCare having continued growth in profitability and an upward trend in the graph, with the broker s recommendation of buying shares, Ryman HealthCare has favorable profitability. Liqudity1 Are liquid assets available to these businesses? Liquidity is important to assess in a business due to ratios assessing how well the business can meet its short term commitments or claims when they are due (Atrill, McLaney, Harvey, 2015, p. 265).
