Latin: nodus – a knot

7. The Internodes
-Are the parts of the stem that
are between two nodes.

- It is the angle formed between
the stem and the leaf.

11. The Axillary Stem Buds
- Are the buds at the axils. The
axillary stem buds can form
stem shoots.

13. The Terminal Stem Buds
- It is the bud at the tip or apex
of the stem.

15. The Shoot Tip
- Or shoot apex is the growing
tip of the stem.

•The Woody Stem – Thick
and Hard, typically not
green.
•The Herbaceous Stem – Are
soft and green.
