The opera Rigoletto at the Metropolitan Opera was conducted by Pablo Heras
Casado. The three principal singers were Piotr Beczala as the Duke, Zeljko Lucic
as Rigoletto and Olga Peretyatko as Gilda. This being my first opera, I was
surprised by how large and grandiose the house was, which is in sharp contrast to my
typical experience when I see musicals.The production decided to place a modern
twist on the setting of the opera, rather than the original setting of 16th century Italy,
the story is placed in Las Vegas in the 20th century. The set is constructed to reflect
that in the first act with a casino scene complete with neon lights, card tables and
roulette. In my opinion, this all seemed to distract the viewer from the story and
the change in setting didn t enhance the production itself. Rather it made me think
about how out of place this all was instead of focusing on the opera itself. The first
act was fairly difficult for me to suspend disbelief and get into the plot of the opera.
This had much to do with me being initially turned off by the casino as the setting
for this opera. Although in later acts I was able to move past the modern set that was
only because this set became less pronounced in the second and third acts.

and Jason Koornick (2011). This movie was very inspiring as an adult with
Asperger s syndrome is the main character. Asperger s syndrome is a type of
autism that is more of a social disorder (Gargiulo, R. M. Bouck, E, 2018). These
individuals have trouble in social situations whether that is making friends or just
talking one on one with a family member. There are many characteristics that
describe an individual as having Asperger s syndrome. Most of these characteristics
were displayed throughout the film through the character Mickey Tussler. In this
paper, I will discuss the signs and symptoms of Asperger s syndrome through the
eyes of Mickey, a professional minor league baseball player as well as how he was
treated by his parents, coach and teammates. I will lastly reflect on how I felt
about A Mile in His Shoes regarding their portrayal of Asperger s syndrome. Mickey

This work of art is considered to be a performative installation, and it is created
with materials such as paper, two steel typesets, two hammers, and instructions.
The two typesets are placed on a carpet on the ground where you create your own
epitaph. The instructions for this work are: Take a few minutes to compose the
words for which you will be remembered and write a draft. Once you have
completed your draft choose two cards for your epitaph and place them on top of
each other. Gently pick up the letters of the metal stamps and hammer your epitaph
letter by letter. Once you have completed your lettering, you may place your
epitaph in the cemetery. Keep the second copy for yourself. When viewing this
work from left to right the first thing I noticed was the description of the work of
art I was viewing. Next to the description are the instructions, which are stacked and
labeled with the numbers 1 5. Then directly below the instructions is a table that
holds the materials to complete an epitaph; these materials consist of paper, pencils,
and clips. Next, moving past the table to the right, there are seven rows of thin

According to Oklahoma Historical Society, an Okie is an Oklahoma individual
who migrated due to work. This term started being used in a derogatory way in the
1930 s towards agriculture workers when they were not welcomed into other states
as they tried to escape severe dust storms. This term becomes relevant to Sonora
Babb s novel, Whose Names Are Unknown, due to the fact that the characters would
be considered as Okies . Throughout the essay, I will be discussing Professor Bruce
Ander s main points regarding the first chapter and add to the things he missed.
Along with that, I researched more about the term Okieand the beginning of the dust
bowlfor the Oklahoma residents. Anders starts his video summary on the chapter
one by discussing Babb s first sentence in that chapter. He first emphasizes how
Babb starts off the novel with a long sentence and ends it with a strong point.
Anders then continues with stating how the writer has chosen to craft the sentence
in a way where all the work is pushed to the front and nothing was left is at the end.
Anders claims that the main part of the sentence comes at the very end , referring
to when Babb states that though they worked so hard nothing was left (Babb 3). He
points out how even after everything they have done it still was not enough and it is

My Favorite Sport In My Life
Have you ever wanted something so severely and it ripped out from underneath
you? That s exactly how I felt after finding out I could no longer continue my high
school volleyball career. I was ready to have the volleyball season of my life and then
I came up short. God always has a plan, but at this point I can t think of a single
reason why he would do this to me and make me miss out on my senior season of my
favorite sport. Every time I stepped on the court I gave everything I had and I did the
best of my ability. First day of school senior year, I was excited to be on the last
stretch of my high schoolcareer and I was more excited to have a volleyball
scrimmage after school. We were scrimmaging the junior varsity and it was like a

experience change as a result of their own personal desires and lust for pride;
however, when considering the mortal affairs the gods partake in, it becomes

ambitions. As a result of divine intervention, Achillesand Agamemnon undergo
changes in persona, which makes it impossible to determine if they were ever truly
living as themselves, or merely as an image of what the gods shaped them to be. The
divine meddles in and around Achilles and Agamemnon change the two men and
their personas, but consequentially reveals that those changes in persona are only a
result of the gods playing god; no change comes from the man himself.
