The Effects Of Binge Drinking On Teens
For my research project I decided to look at binge drinking in teens. Binge drinking interested me
because so many teenagers drink alcohol when they go out and don t know what consequences it
has on the body. Binge drinking is the consumption of an unreasonable amount of alcohol in a short
period of time. I have chosen to research What are the psychological and physiological effects of
binge drinkingin teens? . I chose this question because I wanted to inform myself and other teens on
the effects of binge drinking. The research methods used throughout my research were internet
articles and a survey.
After researching what is binge drinking I found that it is the consumption of a large amount of
alcohol on a single occasion or drinking at a constant rate over a number of days or even weeks.
Binge drinking is risky business. The powerful liquid known as alcohol has major effects on a
person. Alcohol has the ability to wreck a person s life and change it permanently. Alcohol impairs
judgement making it easy for someone to do or say something that he or she will regret. For a
male to binge drink he has to drink 5 or more standard drinks in a 2 hour period. For a female it is
only 4 or more standard drinks in a 2 hour period. This could vary of the weight and age of the
person. When conducting my survey I asked the participants how many drinks they believe
classified as binge drinking.

Why I Am A Bad Writer
From the time I was in about fourth or fifth grade I began to dislike certain subjects in school. I
loathed everything about writing assignments. I didn t write at home before that the thought of
writing for myself never really occurred to me. I hated the deadlines the length requirements and I
just tried to get them done and had no intention of writingwell because I told myself I was a bad
writer. I have never really known whether or not I truly am a bad writer. I continued these habits of
just writing something down to get a decent gradeall throughout school. I usually got an okay
grade because I followed the prompt closely and did the minimum amount of work for the paper.
I didn t start the assignments until either the night before it was due. As I got older I would type
the paper on my phone in school that day then print it off in the library moments before class. I
continued writing in that awful ritual of complacency until the end of 11th grade. We had to
write a paper on The Great Gatsby a book that I never read. I read couple of notes on the internet
and then wrote the paper and never reread it or edited it all. I did my usual routine and followed the
prompt and turned my paper in. When I got my paper back I was shocked to find out I didn t get

Palmore; director, and D Lonte Lawson; choreographer aimed to honor generations of marginalized
communities in the United States. With the help of the theatre space, costumes, and powerful acting
this vibrant play reaches its full effect as it brings the audience to its plot.

Conclusion:
Overall this new work, is fun and captivating. The ability to bring the audience into the Chicano
world and understand the struggle of its characters should be recognized. The choice of theatre
space, costumes, and actors are three of the many elements that help it stand out.

we tend to think, feel, and act in certain ways that are often elucidated by nature and evolution. In
fields such as Psychology, Philosophy, and Science, human nature and the mind have been
extensively studied to develop theories about why humans act, think, and feel that way that we do.
It is believed by some that humans are born a certain way by nature. There are three ways that
people tend to believe humans are born: naturally good, naturally evil, or neutral. A Chinese
philosopher named Mencius is an example of someone who believed that humans are born naturally
good. Mencius is believed to be the most important figure in the development of Confucianism,
right after Confucius himself. Mencius wrote Man s Nature Is Good in the year Circa 300 BCE.
This rhetorical piece argues Mencius s views on the nature of man. Mencius not only believed that

The exhibition that focuses on contemporary artworks since 1960 will be small, containing only
two pieces. The pieces are both sculptures, Violet Persian Set with Red Lip Wraps by Dale Chihuly
and Nefertiti by Wendall Castle. The theme of the exhibition will be about the reimagining of the
exotic female form through abstract sculpturespecifically, in the round, free standing sculptures.
Both Chihuly s piece as well as Castle s fit this theme as they depict abstract forms that can be
interpreted as feminine. However, the pieces look radically different from one another and are
fairly abstract. One sculpture shows a strong and regal womanly form while the other could be
interpreted as the exact opposite. Both sculpture s in the exhibition can also be seen as being
inspired by the exotic and romanticized past. At a glance, Violet Persian set with red lip wraps is a
very abstract form with many different parts and pieces. There are coneshapes wrapped in thin
waved sheets of blown glass. It appears as though Chihuly uses cane working in his piece as
there are stripes of color throughout each layer. It measures approximately 2.5 feet by 2 feet by 2
feet and is made of twenty different sections of sculpted glass that must be disassembled and
reassembled every time it is moved. The outer wraps, like shells, gently wrap the glass shapes in
their folds. The interior sculptures take on the shapes of cones, trumpets and petals and are nestled

The Satirical Nature of Tartuffe The French play, Tartuffe, was written by Moliere in 1664. The
major theme in this play is exposing what is wrong in the religious society and Moliere uses
comedy to point out this out. This idea agrees with Highet, and Robert Corrigan s definition of a
satire. The first definition made by Highet is that a satire aims to expose what is wrong in our
society as Moliere tries to do with religious hypocrites. The second definition by Corrigan Robert
states that a satirists do not usually attack institutions, rather, they attack perversion of institutions
which ties back to Moliere s main point of this play. Although certain aspects of farce and comedy
are present in this play such as the nature of the characters used and the happy ending, we have to
remember Highet s idea in The Anatomy of Satire, where he explains that farce, which causes
unreasoning merriment is related to a satire. Moliere, whose original name was Jean Baptiste
Poquelin, always wrote about basic flaws seen around him, the catholic church being one of them.
He showed the troubles he had with the religious community through his characters. For example,
Tartuffethe religious hypocrite is constantly overlooked by Orgon, who is the head of the
household and his mother Madame Pernelle. However, Dorine the wise maid, and Cleante the

Perhaps the most famous of Marvell s lyrics is To His Coy Mistress : Like many of Marvell s
best poems, it masks extraordinary subtlety and complexity beneath a surface of smooth and
deceptively simple octosyllabic couplets. It is, in fact, as perfect an example of the metaphysical
mode as anything by Donne and, for all its cool and witty tone, and passionate lyrics.
John Donne, (1572 1631) is considered the greatest of all metaphysical poets. Donne was educated

Thomas Hobbes was, as we know, a 17th century British philosopher. We learn in this module
that Hobbes was the creator of the political philosophy known as social contract theory and that
