I sighed and opened the door, finding sis looking excited and she was holding my

Facilities (LTCF). The transition from living in their own homes, to living in a
LTCF, can be a traumatic experience. Poor adaptation to a LTCF may cause
depression, malnutrition and significantly reduce the lifespan of the elder. Thus, it is
imperative, that nurse s recognize this promptly. According to Agnes and Guralnik
(2008) adaptation is a gradual change in behavior to conform to the prevailing
cultural pattern (p. 15). When elders are placed in a LTCF, whether it be voluntarily

organism are made of water. A water molecule goes from high concentrated solution
to a lower concentrated solution to try to equalize the concentration. The water

Cultural Capital Needed For Gain Upward Social Mobility
As a student from a working class background, I did not have access to the type of
cultural capital needed to gain upward social mobility. For example, I come from a
family that has had no formal education beyond high school and so I was without the
knowledge of how to gain access into the realm of higher education. My family had
never gone through the application process and so they did not know how to access
and utilize the collegehelp that my school provided. Also, my high schoolonly had
fourteen counselors available to provide assistance to the 4,263 students that
attended the school (Illinois Report Card 2010). This counselor to student ration
meant that not much time could be devoted to each student to give them the help
they needed to navigate the complex college application system (Civil Rights Data

The graphs and data shows the progression of the Cosmos plant while being hydrated
with three different solutions: water, lemon, and baking soda. They all have different
pH levels and affect the rate of growth. The quantitative data shows the height of the
plants. Based on the data table, the water or neutral pH had the most height, then
lemon juice, and lastly the baking soda mixture. The baking soda mixture left the
plants dead after the fourteenth day of the experiment. The data shows that each plant
grew from 1 2.5 inches everytime they were checked. This can be represented by
trial one of water when the sprout grew from 3.5 inches to 5 inches. Based on the
qualitative data, the baking soda plants showed little growth and progressively...
The Cosmos flower was used to test this. Water has a neutral pH which is generally
the best substance for any type of plant to grow and be healthy. However, the
Cosmos also grows well when hydrated with a more acidic substance. When
hydrated with a substance that is more of abase, it will not grow successfully,
which is proven by the data since they died after the third check and became wilted.
The hypothesis was not proven because the plants watered with the acidic lemon
juice grew more successfully than base substance, which was predicted to keep the
plants healthy. The tallest plants that grew was hydrated with water and was 13
inches tall and the shortest living plant was hydrated with the baking soda solution
and was 2 inches tall. The control of this experiment was the plant, the Cosmos
Bipinnatus because it did not change. The amount of time passed in days was
changing, which makes it the independent variable. The dependent variable was the
height of the plant, along with its overall health. After composing the procedure, it
was observed that the measurements were off, which was an experimental error. The
mixture between baking and water was too thick and did not saturate the soil. This
could have caused the plants to die more quickly and the pH may not have affected
the data as much if it weren t for this

Mansfield Park, written by Jane Austen, is a literary classic full of symbolism. One
such symbol is that of gardening and landscaping, two highly important factors to
the family in this novel. The characters throughout the novel seem distressed at
times about this factor in their lives. But why is gardening and such trivial things of
such grass and landscaping? Eighteenth century landowners spent a great deal of
