Ice Fili Is The Top Ice Cream Company
Case Analysis #1 Questions Case: Ice Fili Introduction Ice Fili is the top ice cream producer in Russia.
Currently, the company is experiencing tough competition with Nestle, Baskin Robbins and regional
ice cream producers. Its loss in market share due to their poor quality decisions making after Russia
became an open marketing in 1992. Nestle took great advantage of Ice Fili s low reaction adjustment
and is taking over their market. 1. Which segments of the general external environment, if any, are
relevant to the Russian ice cream industry? = General external environment tells us more to
understand about ice cream industry. Manufacturing ice cream in Russia is a competition where
demand for ice cream increase market sales, consumptions, capitalism, no marketing, Russians buy
via Kiosks, college kids like beer, etc. Here are five of general external environment for Russian ice
cream industry: a) Technological Change There was a dramatic drop in ice cream companies from
1991 to 1992. The output fell to levels last experienced in the early 1970s. Foreign ice cream
companies, including Ben Jerry s, Baskin Robbins, Nestle, and Unilever, all poured into to Russian
market to capitalize on the open market opportunity. This show Ice Fili s technology were same as

The Importance Of Reading And Writing
My story about being taught to read and write is no battle or struggle like those before and after me. I
am very privileged to say I went and have been going to school in order to have the essentials I need
in life. Reading and writing make the world go round. If the human race was unable to express their
voices, we would all be doomed. Reading gives you knowledge, it allows you to step into another
person s shoes, to see, to feel, to learn and to imagine what they experienced. Without writing there
would be nothing to read. They go hand and hand. I was never a fan of reading, I had trouble
pronouncing words as a kid; in fact I had to go to speech therapy for it. It was embarrassing. I would
shakily sit in my chair waiting to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would write to him, or more like write for me. I would pour my heart out, I poured my heart out so
much so the pen bled through enough to hardly recognize the words that lay on the canvas. I read my
words over, and over then set fire to them because he did not deserve to study the tenderness of what
remained my heart. I think it is incredibly important for me to surrender my thoughts, and release my
feelings every so often or I will begin to drown in my own sorrow. Writing was there for me, it helped
me become stronger, it allowed me to express my creative nature in a way I felt safe and secured. No
one wants to openly talk about their issues, especially when it comes to what is hurting them the most.
I am not saying that reading is not personal because people do pick up books that they can relate to
when they are feeling down. For instance the book Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur is a common pick
up for broken hearted innocent girls. I am one of those girls. I first picked up Rupi Kaur s book
because of the outstanding reviews I read about the book. Rupi expressed her pain, her love, her
breaking and then a healing process in the four chapters. I looked to the book for guidance, which was
rare for me because reading is not my speciality. It was her writing style that really pulled me in. Rupi
writes from inside out. In the book she writes It felt like you threw me so far from myself I ve been
trying to find my way

The Struggles Women Faced During And After The Vietnam
The Struggles Women Faced During and After the Vietnam War
During the Vietnam War, many challenges were faced by the Vietnamese people no matter what side
they fought for. In Hayslip s book and in the movie Regret to Inform, we are able to gain insight into
some of the struggles the women faced during the war. The men went to war and left the women with
nothing but a number of challenges. Problems arose because the women were being abused and
tortured. To make matters worse, a lot of the women had to deal with more difficulties after the war
was over. These are just a few of the struggles that women had to face during and after the Vietnam
War.
One of these hardships was a result of the men getting drafted to go and fight in the war. This ... Show

The women also experienced a more direct part of the war. The men could run and hide underground
or in the homes of the villagers whenever the enemy approached. The women however could not run
and had to stay at the house. This caused the women to experience countless gruesome encounters.
Several of them saw their family get shot down by Americans or get tortured by the Viet Cong if they
felt they were a spy. One woman shared her experience of watching her little cousin get killed because
he ran outside of the bunker to get a drink of water. In Hayslip s book, the reader learns a story about
when one mother watches her son get shot down because he was working in the field and when she
ran to save him she was also shot. She spent sometime in the hospital but she eventually had to return
to her house where the only person left to take care of her was her 12 year old grandson. He did a
good job of giving her the attention that she desired, but one day the boy took his younger cousin
fishing because the little boy didn t have a father to teach him this necessary skill. As they were
walking back from the pond, they walked into an American ambush. The Americans thought they
were Viet Cong and shot them on the spot. This meant that the elderly lady had now lost everything.
These stories were a true testament to how horrifying it was to live in a country that was transformed
into a battlefield.
The women were also viewed in the same way as men were in the eyes

Qualitative Data Such As Interpretive Phenomenological...
Abstract
Qualitative data such as Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) are under constant scrutiny by
Quantitative researchers looking for legitimacy. Elliot et al., 1999, were able to provide this legitimacy
by creating seven key guidelines; owning one s perspective, situating the sample, grounding in
examples, providing credibility checks, coherence, accomplishing general versus specific research
tasks and resonating with the reader. Focus is given to these guidelines throughout the review of the
above titled paper to highlight how these can be applied. The article focuses on the phenomenon,

Fischer, C, T,. Rennie, D, L,. 1999). Elliot et al. (1999) were such researchers, who were successful in
creating seven key guidelines that can be utilised in any qualitative research. These guidelines are as
follows, owning one s perspective, situating the sample, grounding in examples, providing credibility
checks, coherence, accomplishing general versus specific research tasks and resonating with the
reader. Further detail will be discussed in relation to these guidelines during the following evaluation.
Attention will also be paid to how these guidelines can be applied to IPA analysis.
Main Body
The article, Understanding feelings of anger using IPA (Smith Eatough, 2006), has two key focus
areas. Firstly is the use of IPA. Secondly is the understanding and interpretation of anger as
experienced by the individual. Throughout the article, each section explains how the method, IPA is
utilised. The purpose of the article is to illuminate how ..., anger, emotion related feelings, thoughts
and expressions appear to the individual (Smith Eatough, 2006). They argued that emotions are more
often than not, world focused and proposed that a holistic approach was required to fully understand
this phenomenon. This was studied as a single sample, case study. Data was analysed using IPA with
results showing anger

Brendan Behan’s The Quare Fellow and Samuel Beckett Essay
Brendan Behan s The Quare Fellow and Samuel Beckett Existential works are difficult to describe
because the definition of existentialism covers a wide range of ideas and influences almost to the point
of ambiguity. An easy, if not basic, approach to existentialism is to view it as a culmination of attitudes
from the oppressed people of industrialization, writers and philosophers during the modern literary
period, and people who were personally involved as civilians, soldiers, or rebels during WWII and
witnessed the worst aspects of life and war. These attitudes combined the aspects of loss of identity
and autonomy, the uselessness of pain, a sense of alienation, and the meaninglessness of a harsh life
where death is the only way ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Brendan Behan s play, The Quare Fellow, contains all the characteristics of an existential work
through the depiction the realistic portrayal of an Irish prison. Behan wastes no time in expressing his
disdain for the public s blind acceptance of the present state and motives of the modern world. The
setting of the play, an Irish prison, is a microcosm for the modern, capitalistic society. In this context,
the inmates represent ordinary citizens of society and the warders, respectively, represent those who
maintain power and order governments and corporations. Behan s presented imagery is that of an
inescapable world where no person is actually free. There are always powers that people must follow
and respect in order to survive in such a society. The loss of autonomy and complete freedom is
always the result, thus perpetuating the stratification of power and the continued sacrifice of the
masses; however, the delusion of freedom is always present. Although Mickser is released from the
prison, there seems to be little hope in his future as he ll be back, inevitably, in prison (Behan 309).
Mickser is a physically free man, but with the world working against him, he will return to the place
where every decision is

The Window Homecoming
I used Homecoming in The Window as a model to write my poem. Upon first reading this poem, I was
struck by a scene: a woman is walking on a white gravel lane, beneath the cathedral arch of walnut
trees. Then I read it again and tried to figure out the story behind this scene. From the first and second
stanzas of this poem, it seems that this woman has been caught up in some scandals and she tries to
come back home to escape from her current situation. It is apparent that she is estranged from her
family: there would be nothing to tell them... They hadn t already been told. The description of the
woman s home in the third stanza shows that her family is not poor. The use of the phrase main house
even indicates that her family is rich enough

Gender Impacts Of Gender Influence On Gender And Gender
INTRODUCTION Gender is a set of behavioural norm of the masculine or feminine characteristics. It
is performative in nature and is largely determined by child s upbringing. The term became popular in
1980 s. This terminology Gender has great association with geography as gender is being influenced
by society and culture as these cultures tends to vary over space. So, the gender role also tends to
change over space. Gender relation varies across nations in terms of women s subordination and male
power domination. Therefore, it can be said that culture builds up gender and gender is influenced and
in turn influence space. In geography, studies relating to culture basically focus on culturally
determined human activities, impact of human activities on environment and human organization on
space. In all manners of human geographers from economic to political, from urban to regional, from
feminist to Marxist culture has become primary focal point of study. Denis Cosgrove and Peter
Jackson (1987:99) argue that culture should be understood as the medium through which people
transform the phenomena of material world into a world of significant symbols to which they give
meaning and attach value hence culture is the very medium through which charge is experienced,
contested and constituted on as Jackson (1982:22). Culture is the level at which social groups develop
distinct patterns of life and hence maps of meaning through which the world is made intelligible .

What Leadership Means Essay
What Leadership Means
Leadership is the behaviour of an individual when he is directing the activities of a group towards a
shared goal . (Hemphill and Coons,
1957, p.7)
A leader is interpreted as someone who sets direction in an effort and influences people to follow that
direction. How they set that direction and influence people depends on a variety of factors. To really
comprehend the territory of leadership, one should briefly scan some of the major theories, notice
various styles of leadership and review some of the suggested traits and characteristics that leaders
should have.
There are many leadership theories. Arthur G. Jago (1982) proposed a framework that organizes
leadership theories based on each theory s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Initiating structure: Initiating structure, also known as job oriented behaviour, refers to leadership
behaviour that is aimed at careful supervision of employee work methods and performance levels.
Some research indicates that those leaders that were high in consideration would be more effective
than those who were high in initiating structure, particularly in regard to maintaining employee
satisfaction and performance and reducing turnover and absenteeism.
Subsequent research argued that being high in both dimensions was necessary for effective leadership.
As the early researchers ran out of steam in their search for traits, they turned to what leaders did how
they behaved (especially towards followers). They moved from leaders to leadership and this became
the dominant way of approaching leadership within organizations in the
1950s and early 1960s. Different patterns of behaviour were grouped together and labelled as styles.
This became a very popular activity within management training ? perhaps the best known being
Blake and
Mouton?s Managerial Grid (1964; 1978). Various schemes appeared, designed to diagnose and
develop people?s style of working. Despite different names, the basic ideas were very similar. The
four main styles that appear are:

Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory Essay
Plot and Structure Mr. Willy Wonka, owner of the greatest chocolate factory in the world has made the
decision to open the doors of his factory to five lucky children and one parent. Mr. Wonka has hidden
five golden tickets within the wrappers of his famous Wonka chocolate bars, where five lucky children
will unwrap and receive a once in a lifetime chance to enter the chocolate factory. Finding the golden
tickets wasn t an easy task for some; like Charlie, who grew up working as a child to help put food on
the table for his family. As for others like, Augustus Gloop, a child whose consistently eating was an
easy task unwrapping the first golden ticket. The second ticket was found by Veruca Salt, a bratty

The chocolate factory is a physical difference between poverty and wealth. Don t judge a book by its
cover as I have been told. From the outside of the Wonka chocolate factory it seems as if the factory is
an ordinary large factory where chocolate is produced and distributed. While within the factory its true
cover the true glories cannot be seen without a closer look. Another symbol is the golden ticket. The
ticket represents hope, hope in which any individual could receive this once in a life time opportunity.
The golden ticket also represents poverty vs. wealth. The golden ticket, made entirely out of gold is
the most valuable thing that Charlie has ever touched in his life time. As for the ungrateful children the
ticket meant popularity, being able to be one of the five to ever walk into the Wonka factory. Finding
the fifth and final golden ticket allowed Charlie to live his dream. The last symbol within the film was
the glass elevator, or the, Great Glass Wonka vator, as Mr. Wonka had said himself. The glass elevator

Lack Of Social Anxiety
Social anxiety should be classified as a social disorder instead of a mental disorder because certain
situations placed on an individual with social anxiety makes the person feel trapped and unable to
socialize with peers. It would let people in schools have a better insight of their students with this
disorder. If it is classified as a social disorder, people will get a better understanding, and have less
stigma in the public eye, as well as more support in schools and workplaces. Social anxiety is a
disorder that is marked by the individual s fear of interpersonal interactions with others which causes
them to look upon people very often. Specifically, social anxiety is a fear of socializing with society,

throws multiple people with social anxiety off balance of oxygen leading to an extreme amount of
more physical symptoms which is not so good for the individual s health. Overall social anxiety is a
very strong topic to talk about today so it should be taken seriously and be classified as a social
disorder and not a mental disorder because it will make the individual feel as if there is something
wrong with them when there isn t anything wrong it s just the way the person thinks. As well as
having school programs and other treatments in workplaces for the person will make the person not
feel less of themselves and hopefully there will be a better and more efficient cure for them in which
they deserve, because they deserve to be treated equal and not like an outsider who can t help
themselves. So treatment plus the classification should be changed in order not too have public stigma
in society s eyes of the so called Mental disorder . There should be a conclusion to it all with having
the classification rethought as well as treatments should be looked at and very helpful to the ones

Moby Dick By Herman Melville
Moby Dick by Herman Melville is a tale of many things, and has become perhaps one of the most
widely known revenge stories ever told, wherein the mad Captain Ahab chases the titular white whale
to the ends of the earth, willing to sacrifice everything for revenge. The novel is known for its
extensive symbolism and abstract or open ended meaning. Many people find different meanings in the
story, and the debate over what certain elements mean has been a point of contention since the novel
was published. The criticisms and analyses by Randall Bass and R.C. Sproul give great insight into the
most symbolic element of the plot, the whale itself. The whale Moby Dick may mean many things,
including the other to the self , God, or, as I believe, the unknowable, inscrutable, and ineffable of the
world. Both criticisms agree on one element of the story: the white whale, Moby Dick, means more
than it is. The whale is symbolic of something unknown, feared, or hated. Any serious analysis of the
novel will agree with this, but with many different interpretations, a few of which are more widely
supported than others. The interpretation of what the whale symbolizes is where the criticisms diverge.
Bass claims the conflict between Ahab and the whale to be the conflict between the self and the other ,
respectively. Sproul disagrees, favoring the somewhat widely held theory that the conflict is of a man
against God. Both analyses of the whale s symbolic meaning have validity and a

The Founding Brothers Analysis
The Founding Brothers: The Revolutionary Generation by Joseph J. Ellis is about the time after the
revolutionary war and the people who tried to figure out the future of the early United States. Ellis
talks about Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, George Washington,
and Aaron Burr. He goes into detail about six different events that these men were apart of, their
relationships with each other, that effected the new nation. The first chapter is about the fatal Duel
between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr and what he thinks happened, the second chapter is
about Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison s secret dinner about Hamilton s
proposal for the U.S to take the states debt, the third chapter is about Benjamin Franklin petitioning to
end slavery, the fourth chapter is about George Washington announcing his retirement from his
presidency and his final advice to his country, the fifth chapter is about John Adams as Washington s
successor and attempting a scheme to pass the presidency down to his son, the sixth and final
paragraph is about John Adams and Thomas Jefferson putting aside their differences and rekindling
their friendship.
Joseph J. Ellis is an American history professor and an author of eight books. Ellis was awarded the
Pulitzer prize for Founding Brothers and won the National Book Award for another one of his books.
He wrote the Founding Brothers after he finished his two books on Thomas Jefferson and John

Why New Zealand Is Not A Classless Society Essay
Social class, is a highly controversial topic and is one of the most debated topics amongst sociologists,
with many different theorists claiming it entails different things. There has been much debate between
sociologists whether or not New Zealand is a classless society, and I am here today to argue against
this view, stating my reasons as to why New Zealand is not a classless society and in fact never has
been. I will argue this by looking at the social stratification of New Zealand throughout time, dating
back to Traditional Maori in the early nineteenth century, through to the contemporary society we see
today. In order to argue this point, it is first necessary to define what class is. Class refers to a form of
stratification: the process by which human society rank and evaluate themselves into a hierarchical
order (Spoonley et al. 1990) and according to Marxist theory, exists in two distinctive categories: the
bourgeoisie: those who own and control production and the proletariat: the working class that provides
the labour for production (McLennan, Ryan and Spoonley, 2004). Weber s analysis of class is similar
to Marx s, but in contrast he discusses class in the context of social stratification more generally.
Weber s sociological perspective puts emphasis on status and power rather than materialism, arguing
class arose through competition for economic resources, social prestige and political influence
(Richard Bedggood, 1980) At a more basic level when sociologists

Emancipation Of Women In Othello Essay
Othello, one of William Shakespeare s classics, is an intricate play written on the life of a soldier in
the sixteenth century, set in the backdrop of a war between Venice and Turkey. This century, referred
to as Renaissance (the era of re birth), marks the emancipation of women. Plays in the Renaissance
featured women who would break the rules and stand up for themselves, their honor. This was the era
where plays portrayed women trying to come to power, overthrowing the concept of power being only
with stereotypical men. All the plays of Shakespeare during this period featured a tragic heroine;
trying to bring justices to themselves may it be Othello, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet or King Lear. The
female characters in Othello are portrayed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Renaissance Was a Revolutionary Period
In history, revolution is the reason for constant shift in society. Many eras have come and gone and
only some have left a significant impact on the world. In order for an era to be revolutionary, it has to
leave a long lasting influence through social, economic and political means. Historians debate whether
the Renaissance was considered a revolutionary period of history or not, however the Renaissance
means rebirth and laid the foundation of the current era, the Modern Times. The Renaissance is a
revolutionary period of history due to the far reaching changes in art, politics, science and technology,
as well as religion. During this period, art became more realistic, politics became based on merit,
science and technology reached its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another technique that was developed was perspective. Perspective was formed with the creation of
the vanishing point to make paintings more realistic. Masaccio was one of the great painters of his
time because of his skill of recreating lifelike figures and movement, along with portraying a sense of
three dimensionality. One of Masaccio s greatest paintings is the Holy Trinity which was painted in
1427. This painting has a great use of perspective and chiaroscuro to show realism. Chiaroscuro was
another technique that was formed to show light and dark intensities to give the impression of depth
and texture as well as a source of light. With the use of different shades of colour, sfumato was a new
technique that emerged during this time that produces soft, imperceptible transitions between colours
and tones to show blending and oneness. These techniques established a basis of modern art. These
techniques are still used till this day and have shaped the way art is currently produced.
Along with the different kinds of techniques of art, a shift in artistic themes occurred due to a change
in the artist s perception of life and their values. The Renaissance is an era that was home to some of
the most influential artists of all time Michelangelo Buonarotti, Raffaello Sanzio, and Leonardo di
Vinci were few of the many. One main characteristic

The Theory Of Inclusive Fitness
An oxymoron appeared to exist between Darwin s theory of natural selection (1859) and the definition
of altruism (West et al., 2006). Hamilton s theory of inclusive fitness (1964) appeared to mediate this
problem. However, the theory does not explain altruistic acts towards non kin in line with natural
selection. Reciprocal altruism (Trivers, 1971), indirect altruism (Alexander, 1987) and strong
reciprocity (Gintis, 2000) have been proposed to resolve this conflict. It is of note that behaviour in all
theories has been noted in animals, but will not be discussed further. Instead, the essay will focus on
which theories are most relevant when understanding human sociality, with the author explaining why
no sole theory is seen to describe the phenomenon. All theories will be discussed in relation to
evolutionary stable strategies (ESS), which refers to plans that when adopted by a majority of
members in a population that restrict any other action existing, which could yield higher reproductive
success (Smith Price, 1973).
Darwin s (1859) theory of natural selection hypothesised that individual s with traits that increased
their chance of survival would be more likely to reproduce. Such fitness enhancing genes would thus
be passed to their offspring, increasing the trait s frequency in a population. Altruism thus appears to
be an oxymoron to Darwin s (1859) theory. West et al. (2006) defined such social behaviour that
reduces an actor s fitness but increases the

The University Of Findlay And Ohio Dominican University
As a senior in high school the time has come when people begin to ask big and sometimes
overwhelming questions like, Where are you going to college? and What will be your major? These
questions, of course, lead to college visits and decisions. The two colleges that seem to meet my
criteria are The University of Findlay and Ohio Dominican University. Both colleges have positive
aspects, such as having the major that I am interested in as well as being close to family. However,
The University of Findlay seems to be a better fit than Ohio Dominican because it is closer to home
and I am familiar with the campus and I grew up on this campus.
When comparing The University of Findlay (UF) and Ohio Dominican University (ODU), I have
found similarities and differences that can be seen as positive and negative. ODU is a private, Catholic
university that covers ninety three acres of land and was founded in 1911. There are 2,600 students
enrolled at ODU. Of the students, fifty seven percent are female and forty three percent are male.
ODU has undergraduate and graduate programs. The University has sixteen athletic teams that
compete in the NCAA Division II and provides more than forty organizations for the students to be
involved in. ( How ODU Rank Among America s Best Colleges? ) ( ODU Quick Facts ). ODU offers
more than forty five majors ( Ohio Dominican Offers More than 45 Majors ) and does have middle
school education for teaching, which is a major that I am considering.

The Red Guards Essay
HYPOTHESIS: The Red Guards were instrumental in carrying out Mao s ideologies within the
Cultural Revolution
In correlation to Stalin s Russia, Mao s China shadowed through the darkness of an intensive
economic crisis, generally referred to as, The great leap forward . The campaign lasted over a decade
despite the catastrophic events that made China and its economy go downhill. Although Mao s efforts
were too colossal to go unnoticed, the monstrosity of a decade lead Mao to slowly fade in the
background. Consequently, Zedong s acquaintances, Deng Xiaoping and Liu Shao chi, rose to power
to rectify the situation. Deng and Liu s attempts to restore China after the period of the great leap
forward may have been an optimistic road for the two officials. However, for Mao Zedong, it was far
from the ideologies he obtained from the very beginning. Mao s return in 1966 was merely to enforce
his socialist principles, underpinning the Cultural Revolution.

dreaded another debacle like the Russo Japanese War. They didn t need their armed force to be
intoxicated and confront an utter fiasco once more. The second reason might be that the administration
felt a commitment to not profit off the misery its kin. In January 1914 Nicholas II selected another
pastor of money by the name of P.L. Bark.61 Bark felt that the welfare of the Treasury ought not be
made dependant on the ruin of the good and monetary powers of an awesome number of Our reliable

the workers when it had not been an issue for the last couple of hundred years. The 1905 upheaval

Shakespeare Henry Iv Part 1
Throughout Shakespeare s plays Henry IV part 1, Henry IV part 2, and Henry V, Shakespeare portrays
the fictional character Hal as a loose, dangerous youth and a cold, calculating adult. However in
comparison to Hal s real life historical counterpart King Henry V, Shakespeare describes Hal in a
harsher manner. Is it possible that Shakespeare is attempting to divulge an opinion that he has about
King Henry V s kinghood through details and characteristics he shares about his fictional character
Hal in his plays? Based on several of Shakespeare s plays, namely those that include Hal as a
character, it is clear that Shakespeare believes in the divine right to rule and is likely injecting his view
into the plots and characters of his plays. It appears

Essay on To a Mouse
In the poems Robert Burns To a Mouse and The Mouse s Petition by Anna Letitia Barbauld, many
feelings and emotions about mice are brought forth. While both poems were written by different
authors, many of the feelings they share towards mice are common. The analysis of the two poems
will help to find the comparisons and differences in theme, political and social issues, diction, and
tone. Examples from the poems will help to show the similarities and differences in the two.
The tone of each poet in the poems, many similarities become evident. Both poets portray a sad and
guilty tone when talking about mice. When Barbauld begins to write about what she believes the

Anna writes through poem that this act is unjust and should not happen to such a creature. Through the
use of the poem she tries to tell the scientist Beware, lest in the worm you crush, a brother s soul you
find. (Barbauld, l.35 36) Barbauld relates that killing a mouse is not morally different from taking the
life of a fellow man. The poems theme is effective and pushes the reader to feel sorrow for the poor
mouse. In To a Mouse by Robert Burns, the ongoing themes are guilt and fear. Burns knows what
mice are up to, stealing his food from his crops and ruining his walls within his home to make homes
of their own. Burns however, does not care because he himself feels guilty for the little mice. Burns
feels like even though they may be a nuisance to some humans, the mice have no choice but to do
these things to live to see another day. I doubt na, whiles, but thou may thieve; What then? Poor
beastie, thou maun live! (Burns l.13 14) Burns explains why he is not bothered that the mice steal his
food. Burns also has the theme of fear in his poem. The mice fear men, and for good reason, Burns is
aware of this and makes minimal effort to scare the mice while they are at work. An justifies that ill
opinion which makes thee startle, (Burns, l.9 10) Burns discusses how the fear mice have for men is
due to the brutes who have no patience to understand what the mice go through. While the two poems

The Most Memorable Moment That Changed My Life
I was born into a prestigious family who has raised me to have proper etiquette , show respect, and
have chivalrous qualities. Throughout my life, I was always viewed as the child of god, the boy that
never lies, the one who would never do that , that s not like him. On the contrary, the truth is that
nobody is perfect nor innocent, including myself. People such as myself receive judgements such as
these periodically due to the fact that we have learned how to keep our personal lives private. For this
reason, for people such as myself, we have difficulties expressing ourselves. This is just a glimpse of
my background so you could have a better understanding of my point of view . The most memorable
moment that has changed my perspective in life was when I had to move from Upstate New York to
Connecticut (CT). I moved in 2014 with my sister to my half brother s house. It all started in the
summer when my sister and I went to go visit my half brother in CT. When we arrived, that part of the
family welcomed us in a way in which no one from my mother s side of the family has ever done
before. That alone made me feel special; as if I was actually loved by my father s side of the family.
Therefore, we spent some time with them. We also went to six flags which, quite frankly, was the
highlight of the year. We had a blast until my father came up with the idea of sending my sister to CT.
He wanted to do this because she was hanging out with people that had bad habits such as

Arguments Against Circular Reasoning
Logic, as most people know, is the art and science of reasoning well. Studied logicians use facts to
craft clear, convincing arguments that support various positions. Correct arguments state reliable facts
or premises, as some call them and then draw a conclusion based on those facts. Only a single error in
an argument can bring the whole thing crashing down, which causes the debater to lose both the point
and part of their reputability. Circular reasoning has become one fault that occurs far too often.
Dictionary.com, which research shows as a reputable website, defines circular reasoning as a use of
reason in which the premises depends on or is equivalent to the conclusion, a method of false logic by
which this is used to prove that, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, it requires circular reasoning in order for the text to so prove itself. Since the
unreliability of circular logic is obvious, it follows that the truth of the Bible cannot be trusted. So
what? The basic faith of Christianity becomes unstable when the Word of God becomes untrustworthy.
Entire lives will fall apart and hundreds of people will become unstable and confused, and all because
they put faith in an unreliable document. Why does that matter to me?All humans instinctively know
not to follow something that they cannot trust, but many refuse to obey these instincts when it comes
to religion. People should begin to think and realize the foolhardiness of a conservative Christian faith
that heavily relies on the infallibility of the Bible, for if the Bible cannot be trusted, then they have
wasted their lives on a fool s errand. Whether a Creator exists or not, human lives clearly have worth,
and people should not waste their short span of years in a mindless

Improving Patient Outcomes And Promote Higher Hospital...
In today s medical society, advancements are constantly being made to improve patient outcomes and
promote higher hospital satisfaction. With as much progress that has been made, there are critical
errors that can still be found in the medical field that, in turn, cause the lack of reimbursement to a
hospital. Through thorough research and evidence based practice, hospitals are able to follow
guidelines to prevent issues such as: patient falls, hospital acquired pressure ulcers, catheter associated
urinary tract infections, ventilator associated pneumonia, and many more. As prevention for multiple
poor patient outcomes, quality improvement studies can be implemented to promote the wellbeing of
the patient during the hospital stay, improve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pressure ulcers are staged rated on severity (stage I stage IV, stage IV including damage to muscle and
possibly joints). The deeper and more severe the pressure ulcer is, the more difficult treating the ulcer
can be, costing the hospital more money per patient case. In one study, conducted in the United States,
it was found that treatment may cost up to seventy thousand dollars per pressure ulcer in the hospital
setting and up to eleven billion dollars annually (Damask, K. 2015). According to the article Drugs
Aging, many patients with severe ulcers, such as a stage three or four, develop chronic wounds that
may even result in death as a complication (Jaul, E. 2010). Prevention is the key in regard to pressure
ulcers. Therefore, quality improvement research can improve hospital protocols, which may/may not
be in place related to pressure ulcers, and improve patient outcomes.
After considering the multitude of characteristics of the assigned unit, a root cause analysis was
completed to determine how at risk the hospital would be for acquiring another patient pressure ulcer.
Root causes analyses are effective in provid[ing] a tool to identify all the possible causes of the
problem not just the obvious ones which allows for possible solutions that might not have been
previously considered (Phillips, Simmonds 2013).

Information Management And The Retail Industry
Information Management and the Retail Industry The retail industry is ever changing and evolving.
The more successful companies within the industry understand the need to use technology to their
advantage. Information management is the process by which different types of data is collected,
categorized, and stored (Turban, Volonino, Wood, Sipior, 2013, p. 32). A review of the collected data
is done to ascertain the value of the contents and reports are generated based on that data (Turban,
Volonino, Wood, Sipior). The Importance of Information Management in Retail The retail industry
uses information management systems to make decisions on the brands they introduce to their stores
as well as the best fashion designers they should collaborate with (Parekh, 2014). The data collected is
invaluable in that it enabled the industry to make quick decisions based on what their customers want
to purchase, and it gives those that use the technology, ideas as to upcoming trends. This is gives them
the advantage over their competitors (Parekh). Prior to the use of information management, the
industry made educated guesses at what their customers wanted. The more an item sold, the more they
attempted to keep the item in stock. With information management, retailers are using real time, fact
based to maintain pace with their competitors and meet the demands of their customers (Parekh).
Information management is one of the heaviest users by the retail industry. Retailers

Newton s Laws of Motion
An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same
speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force (Newton s First Law).
To determine if a person should run or walk, you will have to understand the Second Law of
Motion. The second law states that force equals mass times acceleration. In order for a person
of a certain mass to accelerate, that person must use some force, so the force must overcome
gravity, friction, and be larger than the mass of the person trying to move (Newton s Second Law
of Motion). If you want to walk or run you will need a bigger force (¶ 4). To walk is not as hard
as running, so less force is needed to succeed in doing it (Forester). This leads us to the third law
of motion, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction (Newton s Third Law).
Another concept of Physics is moving water. For example, flushing the toilet, waterfalls
and dams. Flushing a toilet is a great example of transferring energy. Usually on most toilets
there is tan on the back of it filled with water. Water that is stored is a great example of potential
energy and no kinetic energy. Once toilet is flushed, it gives the water momentum. From
waterfalls and dams we can produce hydropower. It is a renewable energy source that converts
kinetic energy from falling water into electricity. From the water momentum pushes against the

involves a bigger sample size and to confirm an inferred hypothesis. Hence, it is important to have the
balance of both qualitative and quantitative methodologies in a combined methodologies research
study. It is interesting to note that, one clear practical issue in combining both methods is the issue
whether the combined methodologies are genuinely integrated (Bryman, 2007). Bryman further
argued, to what extent do researchers who combined both methodologies analyse, interpret and write
up their research in a way that both qualitative and quantitative components are mutually integrated.
Moreover, when combining both methods often led to the issue of each qualitative and quantitative

Music Tempo s Effect on Heart Rate Essay
Introduction Being a college student in this day in age is never easy. We are always on the move and
become stressed very easily. One of the ways students deal with the pressure of ongoing assignments,
papers, and various projects is to simply listen to music. Music is very popular to our specific age
group, but is consuming different styles of music necessarily a healthy alternate to the stress? How
does music affect the heart rate and what different types of music have a greater affect on heart rate?
Music most definitely has emotional value. Heart rate can be directly influenced by these emotional
changes. Our group decided to test music tempo s effect on heart rate. This experiment is relevant to

As you can see form Chart B, we calculated percent change between the different types of music.
When our subjects listened to heavy metal music, their heart rates increased on average. When our
subjects listened to classical music, their heart rates decreased on average, below resting heart rate.
Our tables do not show the negative side of the spectrum, but still show the percent change in heart
rate, which is what we were trying to accomplish. Due to classical music actually lowering heart rate,
our hypothesis was not proven complete. Relate back to our hypothesis. We hypothesized that fast
tempo music would increase heart rates while slower paced music will keep heart rate at about the
same. Still, if you relate back to the table and Chart A, we have still conducted positive evidence to
prove that music does play a role in a change of heart rates. Each subject did experience a change in
heart rate, both positive and negative. This experiment does relate back to the original real world issue
of heart rate. Being able to understand how to control heart rate is very important. If someone has
heart problems or an irregular heart beat they need to be aware of certain music that could potentially
be harmful to them. Like wise, if someone were trying to be in a good mood or simply be hyper, they

A Good Man Is Hard to Find O Conner Essay example
Flannery O Conner s Analysis: A Good Man is Hard To Find A Displaced Person
Through her assortment of unpalatable characters and violent actions,
O Connor tries to show grace at work in the world. According to her beliefs Christ, the Incarnate Son
of God, has shown that God so loved the world that He became man Himself. Yet this God is not
accepted by men, so they have to be shocked into a recognition of their need for Him and the salvation
He offers. (MAYER, 1976) In this analysis I will explain how O conner uses the two stories A Good
Man is Hard To Find A Displaced Person to open the eyes of her readers about God and his salvation
as Mayer said above. The body of works of Ms. Flannery O Conner is absolutely ... Show more

The Grandmother displays the proper image of a southern Christian woman in the presence of other
people. Her clothing, her perfection, and her attitude are perceived as truly religious. In reality, the
grandmother is exceedingly selfish and corrupt morally. She preaches and gives sermons throughout
the story yet in the face of danger she thinks only of herself. O Conner writes ...the grandmother had
on a navy blue straw sailor hat with a bunch of white violets on the brim and a navy blue dress with a
small white dot in the print. Her collar and cuffs were white organdy trimmed with lace, and at her
neckline, she pinned a purple spray of cloth violets containing a sachet. In case of an accident, anyone
seeing her dead on the highway would know at once that she was a lady (O Conner, 2007). She is
obviously over dressed for a road trip, again it pin points the grandmother s obsession with materials.
Grandmother uses gender roles, you wouldn t shoot a lady would you, (O Conner, 2007) and religious
images to try to save herself. She preaches and prays to the Misfit as if he is Jesus, Jesus...you ve got
good blood, Jesus you ought not to shoot a lady (O Conner, 2007). She radiates an aura of holiness at
the same time sounding self serving. Towards the end of the story the characters seemed to realize
their upcoming fate. This realization for their upcoming fate made the characters, especially the
grandma; renounce their fate,

Repercussions Of Julius Caesar s Poor Leadership

Repercussions of Julius Caesar s Poor Leadership
William Shakespeare s tragedy Julius Caesar highlights how weak leaders affect society s condition.
Shakespeare displays this through the actions of multiple characters, one of whom is Julius Caesar, a
Roman general and senator greatly favored by the people. Caesar enters the play by ignoring a
soothsayer s omen to beware the ides of March, an action that is indicative of his belief in his personal
invulnerability. Caesar s continuous disregard of warnings of his death manifests into his ultimate
demise. Shakespeare extrapolates Caesar s arrogance, physical weakness, and unfortunate fate to
elucidate how rulers with similar traits would eventually fail and foment disarray between their
people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Caesar s arrogance brings victories to Rome, it also causes him to disregard obvious warnings.
This is shown when Calpurnia begs him not to go to the meeting, and he initially agrees to stay home
only For thy humor, (A2S2L59), not because he interprets his wife s dream as a threat to his well
being. In fact he says, Danger knows full well/ That Caesar is more dangerous than he (A2S2L46 47)
and ends up going to the meeting anyway. On the contrary, his modesty from refusing to accept the
crown three times makes him likable and allows Antony to persuade the citizens to seek revenge
against Cassius and Brutus. Although Caesar is arrogant at most times, his slight

Protestant Work Ethic
Niall Ferguson s article, The World; Why America Outpaces Europe, reflects upon how Max Weber s
conceptualization of the Protestant Work Ethic explains the United States economic edge over several
European nations. Weber s key causal argument, as described in his influential essay, The Protestant
Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism, is as follows: For though the development of economic rationalism
is partly dependent on rational technique and law, it is at the same time determined by the ability and
disposition of men to adopt certain types of practical rational conduct. In his study, Weber sought to
investigate the relationship between economic rationalism and religious ideas, ultimately
hypothesizing that there was a link between the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, he also found that Catholic French and Italians actually work more hours than Protestant
Germans and Norwegians the opposite of Weber s findings. That being said, at the time of Weber s
study, when both religions were relatively strong, the Protestant Church urged people to work and
fulfill their worldly duties and responsibilities, while the Catholic Church pushed for monastic retreat
from work and daily life. With the steady decline of formal religion, the Protestant ethic and the spirit
of capitalism have been eroded. Weber claims, the Puritan wanted to work in a calling; we are forced
to do so, suggesting that although the values associated with the Protestant work ethic (e.g. hard work
and self control) are present and valued in today s society, their religious roots are gradually
disappearing. Ultimately, these findings may show that religion has less influence over people s work
and daily

Land Snail Research Paper
land snails inhabit 5ive contents and the Antarctic is not one of them. These slimy creatures even the
aquatic snails live in almost every habitat, the following are a few habitats: forests, freshwater
ponds/lakes, oceans, arctic oceans, deserts, and backyard gardens. Though some snails live in the
deserts, such as the Giant African Snail (Achatina fulica), most land snails like very humid locations.
However water snails need to be in water most of the time. Most snails are nocturnal Some, such as
the escargot snail, can not even have direct sun light upon them. Their days are filled with sleeping,
and nights with eating. Depending on the circumstances, there could also be mating in that mix. Most

When a person goes beyond their first line supervisor they rob that person of ever having a chance at
solving the problem at their level. Supervisors a higher levels have their own task they have to tend to
usually dealing with strategic matters and planning operations. Most are not prepared to deal with
simple issues that could ve been handled by the soldiers supervisor. It also may take the time away
from more important issues within that echelon. Reporting problems to the supervisor at the lowest
level is more effective for the organization. This structure is usually used to establish control in larger
organizations. If everyone in the ranks were able to report to whom ever they wanted. It would be
chaotic. Nothing would get done. This also leaves too for subordinates complain about senseless
inquiries. Using the proper chain is just for the organization but for the individual as well. When the
proper Chanel s are used. This is a good mechanism for covering your own tracks. This leaves sense
of responsibility on the supervisor to handle the issue. For in the events you do have to speak with the

Pipeline Spills Research Paper
Global diminishing energy resources and climate change are a growing issue. Every year there are
more than 250 pipeline spills which contain hazardous liquid including tar sands. Tar sands are the
leading cause of Canada s global greenhouse emissions. TransCanada corp. is planning to repurpose a
40 year old pipeline, called Energy East, that runs from Saskatchewan to Ontario and attach a new
pipeline that runs through Quebec to Saint John, New Brunswick. The problem with this idea is that
the original pipeline they plan to repurpose is made in a way that would not be used today as the
material that the pipe is made of is too thin which could result in spill. Oil spills are incredibly

to stop pipelines being used to transport tar sands for a greener, healthier planet in the future. The
COC supports communities protesting against energy projects (such as pipelines) that would be
economically unfriendly. They are also teaching and encouraging communities to stand up and say no
to fracking which is another incredibly environmentally damaging process that is used to retrieve
natural gas from beneath rock. This is a very important campaign because if people don t stand up to
the government, which is supporting all these practices, the damage being done to our earth will never
be stopped and communities near where pipeline spills and fracking are happening will lose all their
clean water, land, and air. The CoC is trying to tell the government that Canada needs rules and
policies to protect the environment from further pollution and damage and they are trying to push the
fact that our country needs to start looking at renewable energy source options which would be a much
more eco friendly option that would serve the same

Each person faces some type of health issue at some point in their life. As humans, we all find
ourselves in unfavorable positions that require medical intervention; rather major or minor. A health
issue can be defined simply as any circumstance or condition that has a negative impact on the
wellbeing of an individual. Health issues can stem from one not taking care of themselves, genetics, or

The name of the agency that specializes in overseeing public health for Romania is the Ministry of
Health of Romania. There is no perfect system. Although the access to care is listed in Romania s
constitution is important to note that fees are included. In some cases, people cannot pay these fees,
leading to lack of the care they need. Leading health issues that affect Romania include but aren t
limited to heart disease, cancer, and poisoning. Romania s public health system has existed in the
country since the late 1600s.Before hospitals, people in need of medical assistance would obtain help
from nonprofit sectors. This included charities organizations such as shelters and religious groups. The
Romanian chapter of the Red Cross was established in the summer of 1876. The founding of this
organization was heavily influenced by Romania s involvement with the First Geneva Convention; a
treaty established to enforce protection of those wounded or killed in battle. Romania s Red Cross is
based in Bucharest s Coltea Hospital. Coltea is one of several hospitals that have been built since this
time. In 2011, government officials of Romania began to propose privatization when it comes to
healthcare for individuals. Privatization of healthcare is described as the shift from pubic medical
services to the enforcement of using private sectors of care. Despite not materializing, there has many

I am very privileged to say I went and have been going to school in order to have the essentials I need in life. Reading and writing make the world go round. If the human race was unable to express their voices, we would all be doomed. Reading gives you knowledge, it allows you to step into another person s shoes, to see, to feel, to learn and to imagine what they experienced. Without writing there would be nothing to read. I think it is incredibly important for me to surrender my thoughts, and release my feelings every so often or I will begin to drown in my own sorrow. Writing was there for me, it helped me become stronger, it allowed me to express my creative nature in a way I felt safe and secured. No one wants to openly talk about their issues, especially when it comes to what is hurting them the most. I am not saying that reading is not personal because people do pick up books that they can relate to when they are feeling down. For instance the book Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur is a common pick up for broken hearted innocent girls. I am one of those girls. I first picked up Rupi Kaur s book because of the outstanding reviews I read about the book. Rupi expressed her pain, her love, her breaking and then a healing process in the four chapters. I looked to the book for guidance, which was rare for me because reading is not my speciality. It was her writing style that really pulled me in. Rupi writes from inside out. One woman shared her experience of watching her little cousin get killed because he ran outside of the bunker to get a drink of water. In Hayslip s book, the reader learns a story about when one mother watches her son get shot down because he was working in the field and when she ran to save him she was also shot. She spent sometime in the hospital but she eventually had to return to her house where the only person left to take care of her was her 12 year old grandson. An easy, if not basic, approach to existentialism is to view it as a culmination of attitudes from the oppressed people of industrialization, writers and philosophers during the modern literary period, and people who were personally involved as civilians, soldiers, or rebels during WWII and witnessed the worst aspects of life and war. Behan wastes no time in expressing his disdain for the public s blind acceptance of the present state and motives of the modern world. The setting of the play, an Irish prison, is a microcosm for the modern, capitalistic society. In this context, the inmates represent ordinary citizens of society and the warders, respectively, represent those who maintain power and order governments and corporations. Behan s presented imagery is that of an inescapable world where no person is actually free. There are always powers that people must follow and respect in order to survive in such a society. The loss of autonomy and complete freedom is always the result, thus perpetuating the stratification of power and the continued sacrifice of the masses; however, the delusion of freedom is always present. • 8. Gender Impacts Of Gender Influence On Gender And Gender INTRODUCTION Gender is a set of behavioural norm of the masculine or feminine characteristics. It is performative in nature and is largely determined by child s upbringing. The term became popular in 1980 s. This terminology Gender has great association with geography as gender is being influenced by society and culture as these cultures tends to vary over space. So, the gender role also tends to change over space. Gender relation varies across nations in terms of women s subordination and male power domination. Therefore, it can be said that culture builds up gender and gender is influenced and in turn influence space. In geography, studies relating to culture basically focus on culturally determined human activities, impact of human activities on environment and human organization on space. In all manners of human geographers from economic to political, from urban to regional, from feminist to Marxist culture has become primary focal point of study. Denis Cosgrove and Peter Jackson (1987:99) argue that culture should be understood as the medium through which people transform the phenomena of material world into a world of significant symbols to which they give meaning and attach value hence culture is the very medium through which charge is experienced, contested and constituted on as Jackson (1982:22). (Hemphill and Coons, 1957, p.7) A leader is interpreted as someone who sets direction in an effort and influences people to follow that direction. How they set that direction and influence people depends on a variety of factors. To really comprehend the territory of leadership, one should briefly scan some of the major theories, notice various styles of leadership and review some of the suggested traits and characteristics that leaders should have. Initiating structure: Initiating structure, also known as job oriented behaviour, refers to leadership behaviour that is aimed at careful supervision of employee work methods and performance levels. Some research indicates that those leaders that were high in consideration would be more effective than those who were high in initiating structure, particularly in regard to maintaining employee satisfaction and performance and reducing turnover and absenteeism. Subsequent research argued that being high in both dimensions was necessary for effective leadership. As the early researchers ran out of steam in their search for traits, they turned to what leaders did how they behaved (especially towards followers). They moved from leaders to leadership and this became the dominant way of approaching leadership within organizations in the 1950s and early 1960s. Different patterns of behaviour were grouped together and labelled as styles. This became a very popular activity within management training ? perhaps the best known being Blake and Mouton?s Managerial Grid (1964; 1978). • 13. Moby Dick By Herman Melville Moby Dick by Herman Melville is a tale of many things, and has become perhaps one of the most widely known revenge stories ever told, wherein the mad Captain Ahab chases the titular white whale to the ends of the earth, willing to sacrifice everything for revenge. The novel is known for its extensive symbolism and abstract or open ended meaning. Many people find different meanings in the story, and the debate over what certain elements mean has been a point of contention since the novel was published. The criticisms and analyses by Randall Bass and R.C. Sproul give great insight into the most symbolic element of the plot, the whale itself. The whale Moby Dick may mean many things, including the other to the self , God, or, as I believe, the unknowable, inscrutable, and ineffable of the world. Both criticisms agree on one element of the story: the white whale, Moby Dick, means more than it is. The whale is symbolic of something unknown, feared, or hated. Any serious analysis of the novel will agree with this, but with many different interpretations, a few of which are more widely supported than others. The interpretation of what the whale symbolizes is where the criticisms diverge. Bass claims the conflict between Ahab and the whale to be the conflict between the self and the other , respectively. Sproul disagrees, favoring the somewhat widely held theory that the conflict is of a man against God. Both analyses of the whale s symbolic meaning have validity and a ... • 15. Why New Zealand Is Not A Classless Society Essay Social class, is a highly controversial topic and is one of the most debated topics amongst sociologists, with many different theorists claiming it entails different things. There has been much debate between sociologists whether or not New Zealand is a classless society, and I am here today to argue against this view, stating my reasons as to why New Zealand is not a classless society and in fact never has been. I will argue this by looking at the social stratification of New Zealand throughout time, dating back to Traditional Maori in the early nineteenth century, through to the contemporary society we see today. In order to argue this point, it is first necessary to define what class is. Class refers to a form of stratification: the process by which human society rank and evaluate themselves into a hierarchical order (Spoonley et al. 1990) and according to Marxist theory, exists in two distinctive categories: the bourgeoisie: those who own and control production and the proletariat: the working class that provides the labour for production (McLennan, Ryan and Spoonley, 2004). Weber s analysis of class is similar to Marx s, but in contrast he discusses class in the context of social stratification more generally. Weber s sociological perspective puts emphasis on status and power rather than materialism, arguing class arose through competition for economic resources, social prestige and political influence (Richard Bedggood, 1980) At a more basic level when sociologists ... • 18. The Theory Of Inclusive Fitness An oxymoron appeared to exist between Darwin s theory of natural selection (1859) and the definition of altruism (West et al., 2006). Hamilton s theory of inclusive fitness (1964) appeared to mediate this problem. However, the theory does not explain altruistic acts towards non kin in line with natural selection. Reciprocal altruism (Trivers, 1971), indirect altruism (Alexander, 1987) and strong reciprocity (Gintis, 2000) have been proposed to resolve this conflict. It is of note that behaviour in all theories has been noted in animals, but will not be discussed further. Instead, the essay will focus on which theories are most relevant when understanding human sociality, with the author explaining why no sole theory is seen to describe the phenomenon. All theories will be discussed in relation to evolutionary stable strategies (ESS), which refers to plans that when adopted by a majority of members in a population that restrict any other action existing, which could yield higher reproductive success (Smith Price, 1973). Darwin s (1859) theory of natural selection hypothesised that individual s with traits that increased their chance of survival would be more likely to reproduce. Such fitness enhancing genes would thus be passed to their offspring, increasing the trait s frequency in a population. Altruism thus appears to be an oxymoron to Darwin s (1859) theory. West et al. Is it possible that Shakespeare is attempting to divulge an opinion that he has about King Henry V s kinghood through details and characteristics he shares about his fictional character Hal in his plays? Based on several of Shakespeare s plays, namely those that include Hal as a character, it is clear that Shakespeare believes in the divine right to rule and is likely injecting his view into the plots and characters of his plays. The poems theme is effective and pushes the reader to feel sorrow for the poor mouse. In To a Mouse by Robert Burns, the ongoing themes are guilt and fear. Burns knows what mice are up to, stealing his food from his crops and ruining his walls within his home to make homes of their own. Burns however, does not care because he himself feels guilty for the little mice. Burns feels like even though they may be a nuisance to some humans, the mice have no choice but to do these things to live to see another day. I doubt na, whiles, but thou may thieve; What then? Poor beastie, thou maun live! (Burns l.13 14) Burns explains why he is not bothered that the mice steal his food. Burns also has the theme of fear in his poem. The mice fear men, and for good reason, Burns is aware of this and makes minimal effort to scare the mice while they are at work. Throughout my life, I was always viewed as the child of god, the boy that never lies, the one who would never do that , that s not like him. On the contrary, the truth is that nobody is perfect nor innocent, including myself. People such as myself receive judgements such as these periodically due to the fact that we have learned how to keep our personal lives private. For this reason, for people such as myself, we have difficulties expressing ourselves. This is just a glimpse of my background so you could have a better understanding of my point of view . The most memorable moment that has changed my perspective in life was when I had to move from Upstate New York to Connecticut (CT). I moved in 2014 with my sister to my half brother s house. It all started in the summer when my sister and I went to go visit my half brother in CT. When we arrived, that part of the family welcomed us in a way in which no one from my mother s side of the family has ever done before. That alone made me feel special; as if I was actually loved by my father s side of the family. Therefore, we spent some time with them. We also went to six flags which, quite frankly, was the highlight of the year. We had a blast until my father came up with the idea of sending my sister to CT. Studied logicians use facts to craft clear, convincing arguments that support various positions. Correct arguments state reliable facts or premises, as some call them and then draw a conclusion based on those facts. Only a single error in an argument can bring the whole thing crashing down, which causes the debater to lose both the point and part of their reputability. Circular reasoning has become one fault that occurs far too often. The basic faith of Christianity becomes unstable when the Word of God becomes untrustworthy. Entire lives will fall apart and hundreds of people will become unstable and confused, and all because they put faith in an unreliable document. Why does that matter to me?All humans instinctively know not to follow something that they cannot trust, but many refuse to obey these instincts when it comes to religion. People should begin to think and realize the foolhardiness of a conservative Christian faith that heavily relies on the infallibility of the Bible, for if the Bible cannot be trusted, then they have wasted their lives on a fool s errand. • 34. Newton s Laws of Motion An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force (Newton s First Law). To determine if a person should run or walk, you will have to understand the Second Law of Motion. The second law states that force equals mass times acceleration. In order for a person of a certain mass to accelerate, that person must use some force, so the force must overcome gravity, friction, and be larger than the mass of the person trying to move (Newton s Second Law of Motion). If you want to walk or run you will need a bigger force (¶ 4). To walk is not as hard as running, so less force is needed to succeed in doing it (Forester). This leads us to the third law of motion, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction (Newton s Third Law). Another concept of Physics is moving water. For example, flushing the toilet, waterfalls and dams. Flushing a toilet is a great example of transferring energy. Usually on most toilets there is tan on the back of it filled with water. Water that is stored is a great example of potential energy and no kinetic energy. Once toilet is flushed, it gives the water momentum. From waterfalls and dams we can produce hydropower. It is a renewable energy source that converts kinetic energy from falling water into electricity. From the water momentum pushes against the turbine s blades to switch ... Hence, it is important to have the balance of both qualitative and quantitative methodologies in a combined methodologies research study. It is interesting to note that, one clear practical issue in combining both methods is the issue whether the combined methodologies are genuinely integrated (Bryman, 2007). Bryman further argued, to what extent do researchers who combined both methodologies analyse, interpret and write up their research in a way that both qualitative and quantitative components are mutually integrated. Moreover, when combining both methods often led to the issue of each qualitative and quantitative method are treated as separate domains instead of being treated as one method. That being said, at the time of Weber s study, when both religions were relatively strong, the Protestant Church urged people to work and fulfill their worldly duties and responsibilities, while the Catholic Church pushed for monastic retreat from work and daily life. With the steady decline of formal religion, the Protestant ethic and the spirit of capitalism have been eroded. Weber claims, the Puritan wanted to work in a calling; we are forced to do so, suggesting that although the values associated with the Protestant work ethic (e.g. hard work and self control) are present and valued in today s society, their religious roots are gradually disappearing.
