Writing an essay on the topic of "Editing Essays Online" can present both challenges and
opportunities. On one hand, exploring the intricacies of online editing services requires a
comprehensive understanding of the digital landscape, writing conventions, and the ever-
evolving nature of online platforms. The writer needs to delve into the nuances of various online
editing tools, the impact of technology on the editing process, and the advantages and
disadvantages of relying on virtual assistance for refining written work.
The difficulty lies in striking a balance between highlighting the convenience and accessibility of
online editing services and addressing potential concerns such as the loss of human touch,
reliability of automated tools, and the ethical considerations associated with outsourcing editing
tasks. The writer must navigate through a plethora of information, including user reviews, case
studies, and scholarly articles, to provide a well-rounded perspective on the subject.
Additionally, addressing the rapidly changing landscape of online editing tools and platforms
poses a challenge. What may be true and relevant today could become outdated tomorrow.
Keeping the information current and ensuring its applicability in the ever-evolving digital

Essay on Happiness and Drought
It is interesting to think about why our ancestors decided to include the pursuit of
happiness as an American s unalienable right, as opposed to the previously
considered, right to land. To live a life without happiness, it seemed to them, is to
live a life without meaning. Edgar Lee Masters poems commonly reflect on the
quality, or lack thereof, of happiness in the afterlife of dead countrymen (and
women). The diction, word choice and imagery in Fiddler Jones by Masters
expresses the seemingly inherent joy of a lackadaisical man as well as the value of
perspectives and the ability to posit happiness over fortune and land.
As many of Master s poems in his Spoon River Anthology, the title Fiddler Jones
refers to a man who is not only a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the poem begins by talking generally about the fundamental process of
life, lines 3 and 4 bring an individual to the stage in which the poem is set forth. This
is done by introducing the art of fiddle playing and the skill that such a feat requires.
A skill is a tenet that sets apart an individual from a general crowd. It is something
that one may seek pleasure from and it is here that the speaker of the poem creates
this separation the individual.
And if the people find you can fiddle,
Why, fiddle you must, for all your life. (ll. 3 4)
At this point we are being advised by the speaker that if we have a skill we must
use it for the rest of our lives. But it also says that if people find you can fiddle,
which suggests a communal aspect. This skill that sets one apart also makes them
a part of a community that cherishes the skill which one has acquired. This further
contributes to the meaning on the poem because this is the point in which we are
given insight into the speaker s philosophy. This belief being that if one is good at
something it should fully encompass their being for the duration of one s life, thus
rendering it a passion that becomes as a part of living as breathing itself. This leads
into the next lines where we are now required to consider value as a component in
distinguishing divergent perspectives. The point in which perspectives diverge
happens in lines 4 and 5, where Master s imagery is employed to depict the scene of a
Sustainable Improvements Of The Uk
Sustainable Improvements
The UK has thousands of beautiful period properties that were constructed from
brick and timber with minimal insulation, and as a result produce high carbon
emissions. As a government department will occupy the property it should serve as
an example to the public of how such wonderful period properties can be made
sustainable without impacting their historical and visual appearances. In order to
make this property more energy efficient, sustainable and in accordance with
government legislation, a number of improvements can be made.
Since the property is located in the Fleet Street Conservation Area in the City of
London, the following improvements may require planning permission:
a)Hybrid solar panels by Naked Energy where both photovoltaic and thermal energy
outputs are combined. The benefit is reduced installation time and cost while
maximizing the usable installation area . This would also include replacing the
whole heating and water system. To ensure planning permission is approved the solar
panels should not be easily visible from the street.
b)Windows should be replaced with double glazed windows which resemble the
existing windows
A number of additional energy saving improvements can be made that do not require
planning permission:
a)External wall insulation is not possible due to the property being in a conservation
area, however insulation can be achieved internally on walls and floors, i.e. by using
aerogel and by adding
Tom Walker Greed
It may seem unlikely, but songs written today can share connections with literature
from the past. Washington Irving s, The Devil and Tom Walker, is an example of
this concept. Irving s writing was influenced by time spent as a child, reading stories
about adventure in his father s library. The song, As Long As I Know I m Getting
Paid, was written by Patrick Stump who wanted to portray people s hunger for
money. The short story, The Deviland Tom Walker and the song As Long As I Know
I m Getting Paid share themes of religion and greed that are still relevant
today.Greed is a topic that both, The Devil and Tom Walker and As Long As I
Know I m Getting Paid, share. Tom Walker, the lead character in Irving s short
story, sells his soul to the devil and promises him that he will become an usurer, a
person who lends money at unreasonably high rates of interest, and cheat people out
of their money to ensure his own prosperity. He earns so... Show more content on

In The Devil and Tom Walker, Tom Walker turns to religion when he knows the
devil will be coming for him soon, because he sold his soul, but then realizes it is
too late and surrenders to his fate. Tom Walker knew his transgressions and let the
devil take him; Tom lost his patience and his piety The devil take me, said he, if I
have made a farthing! (Irving). The song As Long As I Know I m Getting Paid,
has themes of religion throughout it. Stump shows his lack of faith in the song
when he said he would agree to whatever the devil said, no matter what, as long as
he received what he wanted. He makes it clear that no amount of religion will turn
him from his desires; when the devil shivers off the dust / With welcome breath an
acrid gust / I ll shake the hand the Lord forbade / As long as I know I m getting paid
(Stump 26 29). Irving and Stump both portray that religion holds no value to some
Ethical Predestination
If God does elect and reserves a spot for those who get to receive salvation or
condemnation before time, then there is no such thing as free will amongst human
beings. There is no free will because God already chose who gets what, so there is
no point in worshipping a God that might condemn you. The primary source of this
essay is Institutes of the Christian Religion, Book 3, Chapters, 21 23 by Jean Calvin.
In this essay I am going to prove that predestinationis not an ethically acceptable
doctrine to justify Gods actions. If there is a God, he is usually identified as a
powerful, all knowing, and never wrong entity that watches over all of humanity.
God created every living thing on Earth. So, God supposedly loves and cares for...

All the efforts put into donating money, blood, clothes and etc... is of no use
because a dead person does not need any of those materialistic goods. God already
chose who gets salvation and condemnation. Redemption is only done by a person
who wants to feel that they have done good deeds for God to see and God will
reward them with salvation. Just like how human always wants to be rewarded for
all the works they do. For example, a child does good deeds around the house in the
form of chores set out by their parents. After finishing said chores, a child is
rewarded. The parents can reward the child in the form of a praise, in the form of
money, or in the form of a toy. All humans care is rewards received after every work
The Causes Of Civil War
Solomon OtuboAsst. Proff. Gülay Uğuru Göksel
What are the causes of Civil War? Do ethnic determinants play an important role?
Why are certain parts of Africa characterized by ethnic conflict while other parts
remain relatively calm?
The conventional understanding on the causes of civil war especially within African
countries, to a considerable degree, has being predominantly characterized to draw
its root on ethnic divergences. However, such premise appear extremely difficult to
be true, owing to the fact that civil war is a complex action and requires the
interplay of different variables to make it visible. Nonetheless, the role of ethnic
differences in determining civil war cannot be overemphasized. But generalizing
ethnic differences as a prime factor that result to civil war sounds unreasonable
irrespective of what the actors pretend or claim to have motivated them. For instance,
all most every country in Africa is multi ethnic oriented state, and in such a cross
cultural environment, it is usual for the minority to lay claim of being short changed
either one way or the other. However not all the African countries have witnessed
civil war. Within such context one can draw a logical conclusion that there are other
variables which directly or indirectly play an interwoven role with ethnicism, or hide
under the umbrella of ethnic diversities to cause civil war.
In this paper I will develop a constructive model which shows the correlation of
different variables as the

want to know a couple of things to do to help stop global warming? I want you to

sea level rise averaged over the last several thousand years. You should also help

painted turtles to be extinct. Many animals get affected by global warming so if you
help stop global warming you can help stop this. You should help stop global
warming because it increases temperatures which can cause some big changes in the
world. You should stop global warming from increasing temperatures because
increased heat is causing massive ice sheets that cover Greenland and Antarctica to
melt at a faster pace. You should stop global warming from increasing temperatures
because over the past century, the burning of fossil fuels and other human and natural
activities has released enormous amounts of heat trapping gases into the atmosphere.
These emissions have caused the Earth s surface temperature to rise, and the oceans
absorb about 80 percent of this additional heat making the oceans hotter. You should
stop global warming from increasing temperatures because droughts in the
Southwest and heat waves everywhere are projected to become more intense, and
cold waves less intense everywhere. These are some reasons you should stop global
warming because it increases temperatures. You are probably wondering how to
actually help stop global warming. You can do more green things but here are some
simple things you can do. You can choose renewable energy source. Pick a energy

Body Cameras Pros And Cons
Police are being accused of murder, and abusing powers by the public, what if there
was a way to prove their innocence or prove that they are guilty of murder. What are
body cameras? Body cameras are cameras placed on an officer s body, that captures
footage of what the officer is seeing. Should all policeofficers be outfitted with body
cameras, many people think that they should, but many people think that there
should be no body cameras at all on officers, because they claim them to be a privacy
issue. Body cameras may be a privacy issue, but the benefits of body cameras
outway the cons of body cameras, and here is why. Body cameras should be
outfitted by all police officers because they help police and citizens behave better,
they help... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If a police officer shot someone it could help decide if it was necessary to shoot
them or not. Body cameras can enrich the the evidence against a criminal and give
the court a clearer image. Studies show that police with body cameras reduce their
lying as much as 40% in the courtroom. Body cameras are undeniably helpful when
it comes to the courtroom and should be used in all criminal cases. Body cameras
can lastly, justify lethal force made by police. A man got his job saved after shooting
a man and having a body camera filming, but first his bulletproof vest had to save
him, this man would have lost his job if he did not have a body camera to justify
the use of his gun. If someone tries to lethally harm you, you should have the right
to retaliate against them, without losing your job. A cop got to keep his job after
shooting a black teen as the teen tried to reach for the cops gun. All in all body
cameras should be used to keep police safe and be able to keep their jobs. In
conclusion, body cameras should be used by all police officers, because they help
police and citizens behave better, they help court cases, and they can justify the use
of lethal force. In America it should be mandatory for every police officer to have
some kind of surveillance filming them on the job to help keep us citizens safe, and
keep our police
Safe Standing Zone Research
Lit Review The aim of this study is to research whether the major clubs in Scottish
Football, such as Celtic s fans would welcome the idea of Safe Standing Zones and
whether they should be implemented in the Scottish game at all levels. There has
been widespread debate to introduce safe standing zones at premier league stadia in
Scotland from outlets such as the media to the actual football clubs themselves. The
study will look to move past the Taylor Report conducted in 1990 (Cox et al, 2002)
after the Hillsborough disaster which had previously condemned standing zones in
some countries of the UK and called for a change in stadia structure (Thompson,
1998) and (Robinson, 2010) who also states this. Also, this study will progress to

Teaching Experience I Had A Blackmon Road Middle School
The teaching experience I had a Blackmon Road Middle School was a very good
experience that was eye opening. The 7th graders of Dr. Latta Won class were
excellent, shy but a very interesting group of students to teach. With this experience
I gained a plethora of knowledge. On November 17, 2016, I was the lead teacher
who taught the lesson The Reflection I Am . After teaching the students a lot of
things were observed and some good and bad things came out of the overall lesson.
In this lesson there were some intended content and activities, the actual teaching
experience was more different than I thought it would be, and the students work has
led to a revision of the original lesson plan.
The intended lesson for the Reflection I Am evolved around inheritance. The
objectives were students will be able to distinguish between a gene and chromosome,
illustrate a Punnett square, and connect chromosomes, genes, alleles to inheriting a
trait. To achieve this I created a 5e Lesson Plan alongside with my partner and
teacher, with a pretest before engagement. For the engagement the students looked at
a family tree and pointed out distinctive traits that the mom, dad, and their son had. I
then asked the students what are distinctive traits that the son had that the father did,
and what distinctive traits the son had that the mother had; a connection that the son
had traits from both parents were made successfully by the students. In exploration,
the students worked in group of two s

that go beyond merely entertaining its audience. There are films that have been
created making use of psychological principles, which enrich the movie viewing
experience of audiences. This paper will focus on the movie Shrek, which was

Shrek told the donkey about the prejudice of people toward him. He told the
donkey that people judge him even before they get to know him. People see him
as a big, stupid ogre who will eat them. And for this reason, he doesn t want to get
close to anyone. The people of Duloc are prejudiced against Shrek because of how he
looks, which is similar to how certain people are prejudiced based on the color of
their skin. Prejudice is also shown in the movie when Shrek goes to the town of
Duloc and a man wearing a big head gear sees him and runs away because he is an
ogre. The man thinks that Shrek will eat him so he ran away.
Lord Farquaad has prejudice against magical creatures. This is shown when he has
ordered that the magical creatures be exiled to the forest. This action also
illustrates the discrimination that the magical creatures experienced due to Lord
Farquaad s personal prejudices. The magical creatures were showed to be treated
like criminals, taken into carts and placed in cages. Furthermore, Lord Farquaad
also has prejudice against ogres. He identifies and calls Shrek as it , connoting that
he thinks of himself as superior to an ogre like Shrek. And when Fiona first meets
Farquaad, she was explaining that she is just saying goodbye to Shrek, Lord
Farquaad told her not to waste time on Shrek because it doesn t have any feelings.

Jewellery
Jewellery
Jewellery or jewelry is a form of personal adornment, manifesting itself as brooches,
rings, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. Jewellery may be made from any material,
usually gemstones, precious metals, beads, or shells. Factors affecting the choice of
materials include cultural differences and the availability of the materials. Jewellery
may be appreciated because of its material properties, its patterns, or for meaningful
symbols. Jewellery differs from other items of personal adornment in that it has no
other purpose than to look appealing. Items such as belts and handbags are
considered to be accessories rather than jewellery.

Turquoise is found in only a few places on earth, and the world s largest turquoise

Michigan is among Joe Lunardi s First Four out, and will likely need two wins in

not have a loss to any team ranked below them in the conference, but only have two

better teams in the conference tournament if they want to go dancing in March.

The corporate veil is defined as a legal concept that separates the personality of a
corporation from the personalities of its shareholders, and protects them from being
personally liable for the company s debts and other obligations. The corporate veil is
pierced through legal decision which treats the rights or duties of a corporationas the
rights or liabilities of its shareholders. There are several circumstances in which the
courts will consider piercing the corporate veil: 1) fraudulent representation by

Other shareholders in a company likewise have limited liability, therefore no risk of
personal loss so in the event of company failure, company law limits their personal
liabilities so even though this benefits the shareholders the ordinary people see the
result is an economy is run by shareholders of companies whose management have
negligible direct personal accountability or loss if those companies should fail.
Consequently, the ethics of that economy become questionable if the protagonists do
not face the risk of unrestricted personal loss. The Salomon decision allowed, with
full agreement to the companies act, sole traders and shareholders to have limited
liability. The establishment of one man companies under the Companies Act was
solidified by this case. It now became of no relevance if shareholders are independent
of one another, interdependent, dummy shareholders or nominees for the controlling
shareholders; that is to say, the company was not an agent for its shareholders.
Piercing the corporate veil has the goal of bringing the behavior of corporate

The Downfall Of Julius Caesar

In his seventy sixth year Julius Caesar was assassinated by several senators on
August 19, 14 CE. (Mellor 1). After Julius Caesar s death, Antony (one of Caesar s
closest advisors) was expected to rule after him, but little did anyone know that
Caesar was very fond of his nephew who voyaged with him on several missions and
secretly adopted this fellow who went by the name of Gaius Octavius. (Mellor 6)
Octavius would soon go by the name Augustus and become one of the greatest leaders
to have ruled ancient Rome. Augustus ruler of Rome formulates a monarchical
government in spite of Romans dislike of a monarchy without being assassinated like
his grandpa Julius Caesar by maintaining a strong military system, gradually
changing the constitution, and spending his money and time wisely. Augustus was a
man of strong brutality and strength, one of the strong points in aiding his rise as
emperor was his military control. Augustus differed greatly from Julius Caesar in the
relationships between him and his enemies. While Julius Caesar would try to
befriend his foes after defeating them, Augustus is more unforgiving and instantly
tries to eliminate them. Julius Caesar only eliminated the major enemies that he
deemed most threatening but, after he succeeded in defeating them, he made the
mistake of looking past other past potential enemies. Augustus learned from Caesar s
mistakes. Augustus knew that he could easily be killed by the same assassins that

Analysis Of Nathaniel Bacon s The Name Of The People
In Bacon s Declaration in the Name of the People , Nathaniel Bacon lists every
major offense of Sir William Berkeley, many of which collide with one another to
display how the governor s actions and inactions built upon each other to create
turmoil for the people of Virginia. However, Berkeley defends himself and proclaims
Bacon a traitor in, The Declaration and Remonstrance of Sir William Berkeleyhis
most sacred Majesties Governor and Captain Generall of Virginia . In order to gainthe
king s favor, both men write separate declarations, but one has everything to lose
while the other has everything to gain.
The first of the offenses listed by Bacon is the demanding of unjust taxes which
are not being used to better the colony at least not for the underclass; thus,
Berkeley has also been accused of abusing his power as governor. With the purpose
of monetary gain, Bacon applies for a trading license but is denied by Berkeley
and the council, which consists of many of Berkeley s cronies. This leads Bacon to
make the allegation that Berkeley has made a monopoly of the beaver trade which
is true but Berkeley only denied Bacon s request because he knew Bacon wanted
more power and where there is money, there is power.
In the midst of the two men s quarreling, the lower classes of Virginia are demanding
land. They begin to migrate to Indian Territory and are consequently murdered by the
Indians. Though there is an army at his command, Berkeley does not use them

Exploring The Roots Of The Recurring Subjects And
Symbols...
After nearly two centuries completely lacking in images, early Christians finally
developed a pictorial language to express their faith. The conventions developed
early on would come to define the middle ages, an entire era of almost exclusively
Christian images. Early Christians adopted classical conventions for their art, which
would serve an opposing purpose for outsiders and initiates. For outsiders, the
symbols meant no harm. But to followers of the faith, the images are loaded with
meaning. The meaning inherent in the history of the symbol, when combined with a
biblical context, creates a full and multi faceted iconographic tradition. The purpose
of this paper is to explore the roots of the recurring subjects and symbols evident in
the funerary paintings in Catacombs of Domitilla in Rome.
Funerary paintings and sculpture provide the most thorough evidence of early
Christian art. An exceptional visual tradition has been preserved in the vast network
of underground burial systems: the Roman catacombs. One of the most extensive of
these is the Catacomb of Domitilla. Beginning in the third century CE, the
Catacombs of Domitilla housed thousands of bodies from families rich and poor, and
extended for over seventeen kilometers in four distinct subterranean levels. In terms
of style, most of the works are indistinguishable from Roman paintings. If anything,
the art style is a more rushed and cramped version of illusionistic Roman wall
painting. The use of iconography is
Methoml Fire Essay
On August 28, 2008, at about 10:35 p.m., a runaway chemical reaction occurred
inside a 4,500 gallon pressure vessel known as a residue treater, causing the vessel to
explode violently in the methomyl unit at the Bayer CropScience facility in Institute,
West Virginia. Highly flammable solvent sprayed from the vessel and immediately
ignited, causing an intense fire that burned for more than 4 hours. The fire was
contained inside the Methomyl Larvin insecticide unit by the Bayer CropScience fire
brigade with mutual aid assistance from local volunteer and municipal fire
departments. The incident occurred during the restart of the methomyl unit after an
extended outage to upgrade the control system and replace the original residue treater
vessel. Two company employees who had been dispatched by the control room
personnel to investigate why the residue treater pressure was increasing, were near
the residue treater when it ruptured. One died from blunt force trauma and burn
injuries sustained at the scene; the second died 41 days later at the Western
Pennsylvania Burn Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Six volunteer firefighters who
assisted in the unit fire suppression activities and two contractors working at the
facility were treated for possible toxic chemical exposure. The Kanawha Putnam

Comparison Between George Washington And General
Cornwallis
George Washington and General Cornwallis had agreed to meet to discuss
important issues and matters. They met at a restaurant to make sure they remain
civil with each other. General Cornwallis, how are you? George Washington asked
while extending his hand for a handshake. I am doing well General Washington.
And you? he said while shaking General Washington s hand. I am doing well. They
sit at a table and ask for water to drink and order their meals. The restaurant is small
with not many people in there. Most of the candles are low because they have been
burning for so long. General Washington, shall we begin discussing what we came
here for? General Cornwallis asked. Very well. I will begin by saying this; I do not
believe that everybody living in the colonies should be receiving more taxes. We
already pay other expenses for our war debt to Great Britain. Therefore, many of us
do not believe we should have to pay taxes for imported goods like molasses, dye,
items needed for marriage licenses, cards, and newspapers. It is not fair that we
should have to double our taxes. Countless of us also believe it goes against the

History And The United States
The history of journalism in the United States has spanned from the first colonist
crossing the Atlantic Ocean to today s mass media. Even before we were a country
we had printers and journalists writing and printing stories for the people. Looking
back, we can divide journalism history into different time periods and see how
news reporting developed over time. Some of these time periods include the
Colonial Period which spanned from when the first Pilgrims came to America in
the mid 1600 s till the 1760 s. Other periods include the Revolution period which
picked up from the colonial period till the early 1780 s. The period of Westward
Expansion lasted from the 1800 to the 1830 s, then there was the Civil WarPeriod
which spanned from the 1840 s till the 1860 s. Finally, the Interpretative Period
which lasted from 1930 s and continues to today. Looking back at these time
periods we can see what was considered news and what was newsworthy , the
dominate issues of the periods, and how far we have come as a society from those
issues. The Colonial Period was the beginning of not only out country, but also the
beginning of our system of journalism. The colonial period dates back to the first
settlers sailing over the Atlantic in search of religious and political freedom from
their oppressors in Europe. The people during this time had a small definition for
what they considered dominate news. In this time period, most of the colonies had
yet to be settled, and news only
The Tempest Essay
The similarities and differences between Aime Cesaire s ATempest and William
Shakespeare s The Tempest gives the reader an idea that it is a political response.
From the way that both of the titles of these works of literature differ, an idea of
concept is offered. They share a similar story line yet, after some one has read A
Tempest : a different perspective is gained. A Tempest is actually considered a post
colonial period piece of writing and one can acquire and prove this by the forms in
which Aime Cesaire portrays the characters and switches around their personalities
and their traits, the time periods and the acquisition of language, and the ways power
is used reveals that it is indeed a political response from a post... Show more content

The visual arts responded to scientific and technological developments with new ideas
about the representation of man and his place in the world. The Tempestexplores the
anxieties that accompanied England s belated foray into a New World already
occupied by Spanish plantations to the south and French missionaries to the north,
not to mention the native peoples themselves. (David 1665) On the other hand, A
Tempest was written in 1969 which was with in the period of African AmericanCivil
Rights Movement. It strikes significant the ideals of Malcolm x, the modern english
and the way language is used. The reader can identify more with Caliban then in The
Tempest. In Shakespeare s play, Ariel is considered a spirit while Caliban is half
human, and half beast. On the contrast in Cesaire s version of The Tempest, Ariel
is a mulatto slave while Caliban is a black one. The political analysis in Cesaire s A
Tempest, is the color standard which is proposed. It is a known fact that lighter
slaves were primarily house slaves while darker slaves worked in the fields. It is seen
how Ariel is treated nicer, is given lighter jobs and is actually freed at the end. On
the other hand, Caliban is physically and verbally abused and is not freed. Cesaire
makes it evident that it is a color issue. Cool pose: the dilemmas of black manhood
in America states, Field slaves would be lashed or deprived from foods if they

Media Role Models and the Effect on Children
Media construct our culture, and the media we use to communicate with one
another shapes our perception of reality. Our society is centered on media, it is the
most influential factor in constructing our culture, but is it a positive culture? If we
examine the effect that media has on children, we can say that it breeds a harmful
culture, one that throws values and morals out the window. This is because the
media is profit driven and has developed its own code of ethics of anything goes .
As a result, children are exposed to things that they should not necessarily be
exposed to yet and as a result it rushes their mental development and in fact moulds
their mentality. This is a scary fact because these children s minds are susceptible...

Another example we could look at is Britney Spears, young girls who like Britney
Spears think that she is В‘cool and thus they strive to be just like her, and this
involves acting like Britney and more importantly buying Britney Spears products
such as her clothing. So in conclusion these media personalities are popular among
children and idolized by them because they are promoted as being cool and for a
child to be cool they must be just like them, which involves buying their products.
These media personalities are in essence products themselves that the media bodies
try to sell to children on the basis of В‘cool , and once they can be sold to the
children as being cool, their entire franchise benefits because their image can create
the demand for all products with their likeness.
Now let s look at the effect that these media personalities have on children in the
age group 5 and under. We assume that children are safe watching educational
programming such as Blue s Clues , Dora the explorer and Teletubbies , but are
they really as safe as we think they are. First off, these types of television shows are
educational and do in fact teach young children while keeping them entertained. This
can be seen as a positive influence on our kids and these characters as being positive

In addition to this, corporate commitment to health, safety and environment (HSE)
issues such as zero accident policy within construction and real estate projects can
also be considered as a part of CSR. Furthermore, construction and real estate
industries recently have started to give place to social issues such as giving support
to education, being sponsor for sports and cultural activities, besides environmental
issues in their CSR policies in order to gain more reputation in the public aspect. First
of all in environmental aspect, companies should be responsible not only to their
stakeholders or clients but also to the society which they work in because society is
directly influenced from environmental impacts. In construction and real estate
industry, organizations frequently prove their commitment to environmental
responsibility by environmental management certificates, which are given by
independent certification institutions such as British Standards Institution (BSI). For
instance, a construction based company can clearly declare that the company is
aware of environmental impacts which may cause from its activities and will try to
eliminate or at least minimize them, with its BSI certificate of Environmental
Management System ISO 14001:2004. Moreover, such certificates that are taken
from prestigious institutions, are not only tangible evidences for the company s
commitment to CSR, but also provides a major advantage in project

The world has been evolving as quickly as the population has grown. As the years
progressed, the habitual lifestyle has transformed from spread out house and land
living to city and suburban occupation. Along with the living style, cities have
progressed from just roads and buildings to multifunctional spaces with copious

in the city vastly contributes to the visual culture of Melbourne. Times Square in
New York also displays how what was previously an intersection of roads, has been

The sheer volume of activity its hosts is a vital factor to its success with the city of
Melbourne now able to hold copious events, from live broadcasting of

prime location to watch the New Years celebrations where the city is flooded with
people. With a new capacity of 10000 people large events such as the
Commonwealth Games connected over 750000 people over ten days. The square
for the first time creates a sensible and large public space which was needed for the
modern day Melbourne city. Federation square has greatly contributed to the visual
culture of the city with an angular triangle laced structure creating an icon in the
heart of the city. The creation of this space has also vastly lead to an increase in
cultural events for example when it sits centre for the largely popular White Night
Festival which attracts hundreds of thousands of people into the city for an all night
visual festival. Originating in Russia, White night is a State Government initiative
that lights up the city for an entire night and Federation Square plays a vital role in
not only contributing to the visual experience of the event but help people circulate
during the event. The design of the square works to combine a multiple of spaces to
create an organisation that is interactive and adaptive which has been proven that
was need and well received. Federation Square is an example of how the space

Gun Violence
On the night of October 1, 2017, a 64 year old gunman fired hundreds of rifle
rounds from his suite on the 32nd floor of the nearby Mandalay Bay hotel on the
crowded concert. According to the Washington post, he killed at least 59 people and
injured more than 500 others. He later killed himself. Gun violence is one of the major
problems in the United States and the number of people dying from gun violence is
increasing every year. The increase in drugs business, terrorist attacks, mass
shootings, crimes, and robbery are the effects of guns violence.
Gun related violence is violence committed with the use of a gun. Mass shooting,
homicides, domestic violence, robbery, and assault are the different gun related acts
of violence in the United States. According to the UNODC, small gun surveys,
America has the highest rate of gun homicide in perspective to other developed
nations. It also shows that the United States has the highest number of gun
ownership. We see so many news related to the mass shootings. There are lot of
shootings at the school. According to the CNN news, on December 12, 2012, a
gunman named Adam Lanza shot 20 kids and 6 staffs at Sandy Hook Elementary
School. He killed his own mom before shooting 26 people. This creates fear in entire
communities, families, and children. About 25% students witnessed that shooting
and their minds have been filled with fear and insecurities. According to

Some fun facts is that there is only one national natural landmark and that is the
point of arches. There is over 3,000 miles of rivers and streams, and that is a lot for
a park especially for Washington. There is 73 miles of wilderness coast. Wow! 60
named glaciers(not counting the ones that aren t named). Our legs started to hurt
on the second day because there s over 64 trailheads and we only did about 20 of
them. I wish i was a Junior Ranger because in 2005 there was about 8,400 rangers.
I guess that s why the park is popular. The park must be huge because there was
about 457 buildings. And i was lucky to get one because there was a lot of people. I
should ve brought my fitbit because there s 611 miles of trail. I would ve of gotten
all my steps in by the time I was done that day. What I didn t think would happen is
that there would be 2,002 law enforcements reports in 2005 which was a surprise to
me. I was kind of scared because I didn t know what would happen. Also in 2005
there was 31 search and rescue missions. Everything happened in 2005 from the
rangers and law enforcement reports to the search and rescue missions. Now that I

Polar bears are declining in numbers as the sea ice is diminishing. There are fewer
than 25,000 polar bears left in the wild, the population has dropped about 40
percent between 2001 to 2010, from 1,500 to 900 bears. Not only has the number
of polar bears decreased, but they have been acting strangely as their surroundings
continue to decrease. The different strategies that polar bears are using to survive
are what s keeping them alive, according to Becker the polar bears are changing
their appetite by eating a species of dolphins that got trapped in the melting ice. Also,
the polar bears have started eating snow geese eggs as a backup source of food. In
addition, the bears are starting to spend more time on the shores during the

According to Hassol, these climate changes are being experienced especially intense
in the Arctic, Arctic average temperature has risen at almost twice the rate as the
rest of the world in the past few decades (8). These trends aren t stopping anytime

Climate change is going to have major impacts on the earth, for example the sea ice

the creatures in the Arctic like the seals and polar bears, the sea ice melting is very
harmful to them. However, the reduced sea ice could increase marine access for
shipping and offshore oil extraction. However, an increase in those activities would

Invasive Techniques For Robotic Surgery
INTRODUCTION
Robotic surgery is increasingly being implemented to overcome drawbacks
associated with the use of conventional techniques such as laparoscopy, especially in
complex procedures. However, despite holding significant promise, robotic surgery is
associated with some clear disadvantages and robust evidence base supporting robotic
assistance remains lacking[1].
The introduction of minimally invasive techniques to general surgery has been
described as the most dramatic change in surgery since the introduction of
anaesthesia [2]. This has led to many procedures being performed exclusively via the
laparoscopic approach, such as a cholecystectomy. Reasons include reduced blood
loss and post operative pain, reduced risk of infection, reduced length of hospital stay
and faster return to daily activities[3]. However, these superior results are only when
the initial learning curve has been taken into account.
Laparoscopic surgery is associated with several challenges. Disadvantages and
complications have been well documented[4]. Long, rigid instruments amplify
tremor, reduce range of motion and degrees of freedom. This is exacerbated by the
fulcrum effect whereby instrument tips move in a direction opposite to those of
surgeon s hands[5]. Loss of 3 dimentional (3D) vision and having to view a 2
dimentional image, not directly under the control of surgeon, enhances these
difficulties by leading to loss of traditional eye hand target axis[6]. The laparoscopic
technique is

1) Since the [OHвЃ»] would double, half the required number of drops would be

Equilibrium will shift to the left causing the solution to become light red. 4) Heating

Variable Speed Control Techniques For Single Phase Ac...
ABSTRACT
This work presents a variable speed control techniques for single phase ac motor. A
pulse width modulation (PWM) AC chopper changes the value of the supply voltage
applied to a single phase motor. The variable supply voltage gives better speed
control of motor. Harmonics generated by unit of speed control are filtered by an
input filter circuit. Experimental results would be in 230V and speed control of
single phase motor shows that PWM AC Chopper is simple and cost effective control
method compared to better control method to other methods in terms of simplicity
and input harmonic content. In this harmonics reduction techniques for designing a
Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) AC voltagecontroller is required. So that Total
current Harmonics Distortion (THDi), obtained for to be minimized. In the Main
Circuit we have used Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBTs) or MOSFET to
obtain output waveform as we shown theory of AC voltage controller with PWM
techniques. We will be used at the end of project with Microcontroller are
presented. We obtained results by the analysis of the AC single phase motor and
PWM AC chopper is derived and its behavior of the system is studied by simulation
using MATLAB and PROTEUS. The Mains power factor, motor speed, and current
are analyzed for different conditions as using many circuits via op amp, IC 555,
optocoupler and ARDUINO. Harmonics analysis of the motor voltage and current are
given and compared with phase control techniques.

The marketing and advertising advertisements created by the franchisor leave
franchisee with more time to focus on the daily operating of business. This is a win
win for both parties. It helps increase sales by means of franchise, which, on the
other hand, allows the parent company to collect more fees. (Bernd H. 2008)
Continuous support
It recognizes that the success and profitability of many international chain brands are
inextricably linked to the success of the franchises (Minkler, A., 1990). A highly
qualified group of professional advisers offer continuous support on everything from
human resources to computers and accounting. The field adviser can become a
valuable business partner and a sounding board for ideas.
Guaranteed Territory
In most cases, a franchise parent company would guarantee franchisee a
predetermined territory and assist it in succeeding in that field (Tansev G, 2004).
Territories vary depending on the company which is worked with, but not having to
compete with another franchise location from the same company in territory can help
to generate revenue.
3.3Shortages of Franchise
One major problem for a new business is predicting how much business it might
enjoy, running the risk of either cashflow problems or the difficulties associated with
overtrading. The turnover and profit from any outlet will vary, depending on a wide
range of internal and
Charles Vyse s New Partnership History
Vyse s New Partnership The evolving partnership of Charles Vyse and Barbara
Waller (1949 1951) would prove to be exacting and industrious. From the Cheyne
Row studio, they produced a number of animal and figure models, alongside a
range of Chinese inspired high fired, ash glazed stoneware vessels. Whether by
design or accident, much of the figurative work of Vyse and Waller partnership,
would in the future, prove problematical for collectors. At this remove, it is difficult
to attribute some figures and vessels, either jointly or individually. It is impossible to
assign specific tasks, such as modelling, decorating, and glazing, to either of the
partners. To compound the conflict of attribution, there are occasions when both Vyse
and Waller... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It references the name of the exhibiting artist, the title of the work and material
used. Cross referenced with this testimonial are the names and dates, either incised
or written, on the base of the figure under discussion. For instance, at the Royal
Academy 1950, Miss Waller exhibited an ash glazed stoneware figure titled Genet
(RA 1409), along with a portrait figure titled, Jim the Gardner (RA 1362), and an
ash glazed stoneware avian figure simply titled, Drake (RA1245). There are no
further details of the last two works, and their whereabouts are presently unknown.
Moreover, Vyse exhibited two works at the same exhibition. A stoneware edition
of a figure group Orang Utangs (RA1401) see Fig 134, and a terra cotta figure
group titled Sea Horse (RA1339) see Fig 188. The latter, a new model, should not
to be confused with the 1932 figure group bearing the same title, Sea Horse (Fig
115). The Festival of Britain During the summer of 1951, an ambitious exhibition
took place organised by the respected Chelsea Society in conjunction with the Arts
Council of Great Britain for the Festival of Britain. The Loan Exhibition of Chelsea
China opened at the Royal Chelsea Hospital, 20th June to 21stJuly. In the section,
designated The Twentieth Century, and as the catalogue shows, both Charles Vyse
and Barbara Waller were exhibitors in their own right. Catalogue No 199, The May
Evan s Elves Analysis
Life s most urgent question is: What are you doing for others? Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr. My story is quite different than that of many who may apply for this
program. I am a young man who from almost day one has lived in a world where I
believe social class systems could be broken down, that anyone can make
something of themselves with the right mentoring, and that random acts of genuine
kindness will be what bridges the gaps between our social flaws. What I have said
above, may sound rather generic however it is not my goal that is unique yet it is
how it became to be my passion. At a young age my grandfather very unknowingly
planted the seed in my mind that would sculpt my visions and perceptions as to how
I see the world and all the players within in it. At an extremely... Show more content

Over five years we have adopted 216 families and 38 veterans. My organization,
Evan s Elves and I, have been at the forefront for bringing assistance to families in
Metro Detroit who have been affected by unforeseen circumstance. My volunteers
and I not only provide necessary and material items to these families but in
addition we assist teens and adults with resume writing, interview skills, job
searching, and college placement. I have seen some great things happen to people
who just needed someone to take the time to care about others. The best reward I
will ever be given is knowing the reason a person smiles is because of the
assistance and guidance I was able to give them. With the question that Dr. Martin
Luther King Jr. has asked I will never have a final answer as there is always more
that I can be doing to assist others, to better my team, and further develop our
Spring River Case Study
To fully analyze Spring Creek, the collected samples must be representative of the
depth and width of this creek. To make sure that the width of all the samples was
represented, the boat moved side to side of the entire channel of as samples of the
water surface were collected. To get samples that are representative of the depth, the
geologists sampled the upper 0.2 to 2.5m of the riverusing a three meter long tube
with a diameter of five centimeters. The shores of the SpringCreek were also sampled
in order to determine if there was any deposition of heavy metals along the shores
(Alpers, Taylor, Domagalski, 2000).
The EPA used data that was collected from the SCDD by the United States Bureau
of Reclamation (USBR) In the 1960s, the USBR dammed Spring Creek with the
SCDD to prevent heavy metals from dispersing throughout the Spring Creek water
system. The installation of the dam allowed the USBR to analyze the water
collected from the SCDD for copper and zinc levels. From then on, the USBR would
determine the average daily discharge calculated from the gates of ... Show more

As a result, the nearby water systems became filled with pollution. The EPA has
taken action to ensure the reduction of the contaminant levels and to prevent the
contamination from spreading further into other water systems. They began to install
several water treatment plants to clean the water out. As the EPA tries to remediate
the Iron Mountain Mine, they have been analyzing water samples from the Spring
Creek to determine if the levels have changed. Thanks to the efforts by the EPA, the
levels of contamination has reduced significantly by at least 80%. The percent
reduction of heavy metals continues to rise due to the efforts set by the EPA.
Although the levels have declined, there still needs to be continued efforts to ensure
that the Iron Mountain Mine no longer pollutes nearby the water

Welcome To Hyderabad, The City Of Hyderabad
Welcome to Hyderabad: The city of pearls , biryani and Charminar! Hyderabad is the
sixth Metropolitan city of India after Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and
Bangalore. Its known for its mouthwatering biryani, beautiful pearls ,the majestic
Charminar and a lot more. But what do we know about the history of Hyderabad?
Source: www.wikipedia.org
Hyderabad was established by the Qutub Shahi dynasty, but it only rose to
prominence when the Mughal rulers established their dynasty Nizams of Hyderabad
here. As a matter of fact, when India established its independence, the Indian Army
had to capture the then princely state of Hyderabad as its rulers(against its citizens)
wanted to be a part of the country of Pakistan.
Apart from having a rich culture and heritage ,Hyderabad is the rising IT Hub of
India. There are high rise buildings and wide spread campus of multi national
companies galore here. Google, Amazon, Infosys : all have expansive and beautiful
campuses here. Hyderabad also has a booming real estate sector. All these factors
make Hyderabad such a precious city that Telangana and Andhra Pradeshfought over
its custody when they seperated in 2014. Hyderabad was finally granted joint capital
status for 10 years ,much to the relief of its citizens.
The city occupies 650 square kilometres. This area ranges from the rich in heritage
old city to the modern HiTech City. The old city part is where the actual
Hyderabadis live, the ones who have lived here for generations. Over the
American Workers Struggle To Keep Up
Kimberly Michelle Collins ENGL 110 CRN: 20290 June 10, 2015 Word Count:
American Workers Struggle to Keep Up Everyone uses technology in their daily
lives however no one notices that not only technology is being used but it is also
taking away or making it easier for individuals not to be hired as an employee.
Some of the things that technology is being replaced are Robots, automation and
software. For many types of jobs as these powerful new technologies are improving
they are also being adopted not only in manufacturing or in retail work but in many
professions such as law, financial services, education and medicine. Technology may
be advancing, but it is causing a higher unemployment rate, machines are not

In how technology has put people out of jobs such as the Industrial Revolution. In
the 1800 s to be exact was when it all started. 1800 s was a time in America when
people started to find out the advantages of using technology in their daily work
routines. The machines were able to do the work up to 10 times faster than the
manual laborer. According to Jeremy Rifkin As the new generation of smart
robots, armed with greater intelligence and flexibility, make their way to the
market, automakers are far more likely to substitute them for workers because they
are most cost effective (Rifkin page 4). Along with this, the machines became a
more reliable source of work rather than a human being and like Mr. Rifkin said it
will cost less to have machines rather than humans to work for them. Now in the
year 2000 s, we can use the internet whenever we want to and where ever we are. As
quoted on the article New Technology and The End of Jobs says that It is estimated
each robot replaces four jobs in the economy and it can be in constant use in
twenty four hours in a day (Rifkin page 4). Basically the machines are always there
and they will never complain of how many hours it had been up. The internet is a
great example how technology is taking over those kinds of jobs. Now if you want
you can buy food, clothing, electronics, and cars off the internet. This makes it easier
for us to do things by ourselves without leaving the comfort of
Reflection Paper On Baptismism
I begin preparation about two weeks prior to sermon date of September 19. Using
the 2017 Official United Methodist Program Calendar I found that I had originally
chosen to continue the Romans theme as in my past three weeks, so going off
lectionary, with Romans 14:13 23. But looking ahead I decided to combine that on
September 17th so I could choose Psalm 78:1 7 (lectionary) instead. This spoke to
me as a way to preach about baptism. Since my pre planning in August, a family has
decided to have their 18 month old baptized on September 24.
I read the scripture three times throughout the day and initially noticed at the very
beginning the mention of telling parables and uttering hidden meanings. This
intrigued me. Also the mention of the word children several times seems to relate to
the baptism well.
A few days later I reread the scripture and the word generation jumped out at me as
well as put their trust in God and would not forget . How has the understanding of
baptism changed since it began, or even since my baptism or my children s
baptisms? I looked at my Worship Annual for the week of September 24 to see if
any of the planning resources spoke to Psalm 78 or related it to baptism. It referred
to children a couple of times but not baptism in any way.
Back to what about hidden truths or meanings spoken in parables? Why do we call
baptism a sacrament? What is sacred? Is sacred, things that have hidden meanings or
layers like an onion, to reveal

  • 2. Essay on Happiness and Drought It is interesting to think about why our ancestors decided to include the pursuit of happiness as an American s unalienable right, as opposed to the previously considered, right to land. To live a life without happiness, it seemed to them, is to live a life without meaning. Edgar Lee Masters poems commonly reflect on the quality, or lack thereof, of happiness in the afterlife of dead countrymen (and women). The diction, word choice and imagery in Fiddler Jones by Masters expresses the seemingly inherent joy of a lackadaisical man as well as the value of perspectives and the ability to posit happiness over fortune and land. As many of Master s poems in his Spoon River Anthology, the title Fiddler Jones refers to a man who is not only a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although the poem begins by talking generally about the fundamental process of life, lines 3 and 4 bring an individual to the stage in which the poem is set forth. This is done by introducing the art of fiddle playing and the skill that such a feat requires. A skill is a tenet that sets apart an individual from a general crowd. It is something that one may seek pleasure from and it is here that the speaker of the poem creates this separation the individual. And if the people find you can fiddle, Why, fiddle you must, for all your life. (ll. 3 4) At this point we are being advised by the speaker that if we have a skill we must use it for the rest of our lives. But it also says that if people find you can fiddle, which suggests a communal aspect. This skill that sets one apart also makes them a part of a community that cherishes the skill which one has acquired. This further contributes to the meaning on the poem because this is the point in which we are given insight into the speaker s philosophy. This belief being that if one is good at something it should fully encompass their being for the duration of one s life, thus rendering it a passion that becomes as a part of living as breathing itself. This leads into the next lines where we are now required to consider value as a component in distinguishing divergent perspectives. The point in which perspectives diverge happens in lines 4 and 5, where Master s imagery is employed to depict the scene of a
  • 3. Sustainable Improvements Of The Uk Sustainable Improvements The UK has thousands of beautiful period properties that were constructed from brick and timber with minimal insulation, and as a result produce high carbon emissions. As a government department will occupy the property it should serve as an example to the public of how such wonderful period properties can be made sustainable without impacting their historical and visual appearances. In order to make this property more energy efficient, sustainable and in accordance with government legislation, a number of improvements can be made. Since the property is located in the Fleet Street Conservation Area in the City of London, the following improvements may require planning permission: a)Hybrid solar panels by Naked Energy where both photovoltaic and thermal energy outputs are combined. The benefit is reduced installation time and cost while maximizing the usable installation area . This would also include replacing the whole heating and water system. To ensure planning permission is approved the solar panels should not be easily visible from the street. b)Windows should be replaced with double glazed windows which resemble the existing windows A number of additional energy saving improvements can be made that do not require planning permission: a)External wall insulation is not possible due to the property being in a conservation area, however insulation can be achieved internally on walls and floors, i.e. by using aerogel and by adding
  • 4. Tom Walker Greed It may seem unlikely, but songs written today can share connections with literature from the past. Washington Irving s, The Devil and Tom Walker, is an example of this concept. Irving s writing was influenced by time spent as a child, reading stories about adventure in his father s library. The song, As Long As I Know I m Getting Paid, was written by Patrick Stump who wanted to portray people s hunger for money. The short story, The Deviland Tom Walker and the song As Long As I Know I m Getting Paid share themes of religion and greed that are still relevant today.Greed is a topic that both, The Devil and Tom Walker and As Long As I Know I m Getting Paid, share. Tom Walker, the lead character in Irving s short story, sells his soul to the devil and promises him that he will become an usurer, a person who lends money at unreasonably high rates of interest, and cheat people out of their money to ensure his own prosperity. He earns so... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In The Devil and Tom Walker, Tom Walker turns to religion when he knows the devil will be coming for him soon, because he sold his soul, but then realizes it is too late and surrenders to his fate. Tom Walker knew his transgressions and let the devil take him; Tom lost his patience and his piety The devil take me, said he, if I have made a farthing! (Irving). The song As Long As I Know I m Getting Paid, has themes of religion throughout it. Stump shows his lack of faith in the song when he said he would agree to whatever the devil said, no matter what, as long as he received what he wanted. He makes it clear that no amount of religion will turn him from his desires; when the devil shivers off the dust / With welcome breath an acrid gust / I ll shake the hand the Lord forbade / As long as I know I m getting paid (Stump 26 29). Irving and Stump both portray that religion holds no value to some
  • 5. Ethical Predestination If God does elect and reserves a spot for those who get to receive salvation or condemnation before time, then there is no such thing as free will amongst human beings. There is no free will because God already chose who gets what, so there is no point in worshipping a God that might condemn you. The primary source of this essay is Institutes of the Christian Religion, Book 3, Chapters, 21 23 by Jean Calvin. In this essay I am going to prove that predestinationis not an ethically acceptable doctrine to justify Gods actions. If there is a God, he is usually identified as a powerful, all knowing, and never wrong entity that watches over all of humanity. God created every living thing on Earth. So, God supposedly loves and cares for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All the efforts put into donating money, blood, clothes and etc... is of no use because a dead person does not need any of those materialistic goods. God already chose who gets salvation and condemnation. Redemption is only done by a person who wants to feel that they have done good deeds for God to see and God will reward them with salvation. Just like how human always wants to be rewarded for all the works they do. For example, a child does good deeds around the house in the form of chores set out by their parents. After finishing said chores, a child is rewarded. The parents can reward the child in the form of a praise, in the form of money, or in the form of a toy. • 6. The Causes Of Civil War Solomon OtuboAsst. Proff. GГјlay UДџuru GГ¶ksel What are the causes of Civil War? Do ethnic determinants play an important role? Why are certain parts of Africa characterized by ethnic conflict while other parts remain relatively calm? The conventional understanding on the causes of civil war especially within African countries, to a considerable degree, has being predominantly characterized to draw its root on ethnic divergences. However, such premise appear extremely difficult to be true, owing to the fact that civil war is a complex action and requires the interplay of different variables to make it visible. Nonetheless, the role of ethnic differences in determining civil war cannot be overemphasized. But generalizing ethnic differences as a prime factor that result to civil war sounds unreasonable irrespective of what the actors pretend or claim to have motivated them. For instance, all most every country in Africa is multi ethnic oriented state, and in such a cross cultural environment, it is usual for the minority to lay claim of being short changed either one way or the other. However not all the African countries have witnessed civil war. Within such context one can draw a logical conclusion that there are other variables which directly or indirectly play an interwoven role with ethnicism, or hide under the umbrella of ethnic diversities to cause civil war. In this paper I will develop a constructive model which shows the correlation of different variables as the

What are body cameras? Body cameras are cameras placed on an officer s body, that captures footage of what the officer is seeing. Should all policeofficers be outfitted with body cameras, many people think that they should, but many people think that there should be no body cameras at all on officers, because they claim them to be a privacy issue. If a police officer shot someone it could help decide if it was necessary to shoot them or not. Body cameras can enrich the the evidence against a criminal and give the court a clearer image. Studies show that police with body cameras reduce their lying as much as 40% in the courtroom. Body cameras are undeniably helpful when it comes to the courtroom and should be used in all criminal cases. Body cameras can lastly, justify lethal force made by police. A man got his job saved after shooting a man and having a body camera filming, but first his bulletproof vest had to save him, this man would have lost his job if he did not have a body camera to justify the use of his gun. If someone tries to lethally harm you, you should have the right to retaliate against them, without losing your job. A cop got to keep his job after shooting a black teen as the teen tried to reach for the cops gun. All in all body cameras should be used to keep police safe and be able to keep their jobs. In conclusion, body cameras should be used by all police officers, because they help police and citizens behave better, they help court cases, and they can justify the use of lethal force. In America it should be mandatory for every police officer to have some kind of surveillance filming them on the job to help keep us citizens safe, and keep our police

Safe Standing Zone Research Lit Review The aim of this study is to research whether the major clubs in Scottish Football, such as Celtic s fans would welcome the idea of Safe Standing Zones and whether they should be implemented in the Scottish game at all levels. There has been widespread debate to introduce safe standing zones at premier league stadia in Scotland from outlets such as the media to the actual football clubs themselves. The study will look to move past the Taylor Report conducted in 1990 (Cox et al, 2002) after the Hillsborough disaster which had previously condemned standing zones in some countries of the UK and called for a change in stadia structure (Thompson, 1998) and (Robinson, 2010) who also states this. The 7th graders of Dr. Latta Won class were excellent, shy but a very interesting group of students to teach. With this experience I gained a plethora of knowledge. On November 17, 2016, I was the lead teacher who taught the lesson The Reflection I Am . After teaching the students a lot of things were observed and some good and bad things came out of the overall lesson. In this lesson there were some intended content and activities, the actual teaching experience was more different than I thought it would be, and the students work has led to a revision of the original lesson plan. The intended lesson for the Reflection I Am evolved around inheritance. The objectives were students will be able to distinguish between a gene and chromosome, illustrate a Punnett square, and connect chromosomes, genes, alleles to inheriting a trait. To achieve this I created a 5e Lesson Plan alongside with my partner and teacher, with a pretest before engagement. For the engagement the students looked at a family tree and pointed out distinctive traits that the mom, dad, and their son had. I then asked the students what are distinctive traits that the son had that the father did, and what distinctive traits the son had that the mother had; a connection that the son had traits from both parents were made successfully by the students. In exploration, the students worked in group of two s

Prejudice is also shown in the movie when Shrek goes to the town of Duloc and a man wearing a big head gear sees him and runs away because he is an ogre. The man thinks that Shrek will eat him so he ran away. Lord Farquaad has prejudice against magical creatures. This is shown when he has ordered that the magical creatures be exiled to the forest. This action also illustrates the discrimination that the magical creatures experienced due to Lord Farquaad s personal prejudices. The magical creatures were showed to be treated like criminals, taken into carts and placed in cages. Furthermore, Lord Farquaad also has prejudice against ogres. He identifies and calls Shrek as it , connoting that he thinks of himself as superior to an ogre like Shrek. After nearly two centuries completely lacking in images, early Christians finally developed a pictorial language to express their faith. The conventions developed early on would come to define the middle ages, an entire era of almost exclusively Christian images. Early Christians adopted classical conventions for their art, which would serve an opposing purpose for outsiders and initiates. For outsiders, the symbols meant no harm. But to followers of the faith, the images are loaded with meaning. The meaning inherent in the history of the symbol, when combined with a biblical context, creates a full and multi faceted iconographic tradition. The purpose of this paper is to explore the roots of the recurring subjects and symbols evident in the funerary paintings in Catacombs of Domitilla in Rome. Funerary paintings and sculpture provide the most thorough evidence of early Christian art. An exceptional visual tradition has been preserved in the vast network of underground burial systems: the Roman catacombs. One of the most extensive of these is the Catacomb of Domitilla. Beginning in the third century CE, the Catacombs of Domitilla housed thousands of bodies from families rich and poor, and extended for over seventeen kilometers in four distinct subterranean levels. In terms of style, most of the works are indistinguishable from Roman paintings. If anything, the art style is a more rushed and cramped version of illusionistic Roman wall painting. The use of iconography is

Some of these time periods include the Colonial Period which spanned from when the first Pilgrims came to America in the mid 1600 s till the 1760 s. Other periods include the Revolution period which picked up from the colonial period till the early 1780 s. Invasive Techniques For Robotic Surgery INTRODUCTION Robotic surgery is increasingly being implemented to overcome drawbacks associated with the use of conventional techniques such as laparoscopy, especially in complex procedures. However, despite holding significant promise, robotic surgery is associated with some clear disadvantages and robust evidence base supporting robotic assistance remains lacking[1]. The introduction of minimally invasive techniques to general surgery has been described as the most dramatic change in surgery since the introduction of anaesthesia [2]. This has led to many procedures being performed exclusively via the laparoscopic approach, such as a cholecystectomy. Reasons include reduced blood loss and post operative pain, reduced risk of infection, reduced length of hospital stay and faster return to daily activities[3]. However, these superior results are only when the initial learning curve has been taken into account. Laparoscopic surgery is associated with several challenges. Disadvantages and complications have been well documented[4]. Long, rigid instruments amplify tremor, reduce range of motion and degrees of freedom. This is exacerbated by the fulcrum effect whereby instrument tips move in a direction opposite to those of surgeon s hands[5]. Loss of 3 dimentional (3D) vision and having to view a 2 dimentional image, not directly under the control of surgeon, enhances these difficulties by leading to loss of traditional eye hand target axis[6]. This would decrease the [FeВівЃє] in the system. Equilibrium will shift left to counteract the change and the solution becomes lighter yellow in colour. 3) Cooling the contents decreases the amount of heat in the system. Equilibrium will shift to the left causing the solution to become light red. 4) Heating favours endothermic reactions. As the reactant Co(Hв‚‚O)₆²⁺ was heated, the solution changed from light red to dark purple. This suggests that the equilibrium shifted right. Therefore, the forward reaction is endothermic. 5) Adding NaCl would increase [ClвЃ»]. This will cause equilibrium to shift right and the solution would become dark purple. 7) If you add HCl, you are increasing the [HвЃє] in the system. Equilibrium will shift right causing the colour change from yellow to orange. If you add NaOH, the OHвЃ» will react with the HвЃє ions to form water. This causes a decrease in the [HвЃє] in the system. Equilibrium will shift causing the

  • 38. Posttraumatic Stress Disorder in In Country by Bobbi Ann... Posttraumatic Stress Disorder in In Country by Bobbi Ann Mason Many Vietnam veterans suffer from posttraumatic stress disorder. Typically, such individuals have flashbacks, dreams, and are constantly haunted by their war memories. The mental stress can lead to further complications, even physically injuring or paralyzing the human body. The book In Country by Bobbi Ann Mason portrays a prime example of such a victim. The difference? The subject is a seventeen year old girl in the early nineteen eighties who never saw the war. Posttraumatic stress disorder affects an estimated 30.9% of male Vietnam veterans and 26.9% of female Vietnam veterans, according to a survey by the National Center for PTSD (National Center for ... Several of Emmett s old war buddies have similar issues. Although one attempted to marry and lead a normal life, that too failed. Tom, a mechanic who sold Sam her Volkswagen, was left impotent because of what he calls mind over matter causing him [to go] where he doesn t want to go (Mason 128). These are the things that fill Sam s head, things caused by a war which ended when she was but a child but are still the center of her life (Stewart 1). They have been banned from public consciousness, but not from hers (Morrissey 1). Her obsession can be traced to her father who was killed during the war. Never knowing her father, it has been her conquest to bring him back, if not physically then at least in spirit. Perhaps it is because her mother never talked about him, maybe it is just a link she feels she is missing, but most definitely it has left a

  • 40. Variable Speed Control Techniques For Single Phase Ac... ABSTRACT This work presents a variable speed control techniques for single phase ac motor. A pulse width modulation (PWM) AC chopper changes the value of the supply voltage applied to a single phase motor. The variable supply voltage gives better speed control of motor. Harmonics generated by unit of speed control are filtered by an input filter circuit. Experimental results would be in 230V and speed control of single phase motor shows that PWM AC Chopper is simple and cost effective control method compared to better control method to other methods in terms of simplicity and input harmonic content. In this harmonics reduction techniques for designing a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) AC voltagecontroller is required. So that Total current Harmonics Distortion (THDi), obtained for to be minimized. In the Main Circuit we have used Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBTs) or MOSFET to obtain output waveform as we shown theory of AC voltage controller with PWM techniques. We will be used at the end of project with Microcontroller are presented. We obtained results by the analysis of the AC single phase motor and PWM AC chopper is derived and its behavior of the system is studied by simulation using MATLAB and PROTEUS. The Mains power factor, motor speed, and current are analyzed for different conditions as using many circuits via op amp, IC 555, optocoupler and ARDUINO. Harmonics analysis of the motor voltage and current are given and compared with phase control techniques.

Territories vary depending on the company which is worked with, but not having to compete with another franchise location from the same company in territory can help to generate revenue. 3.3Shortages of Franchise One major problem for a new business is predicting how much business it might enjoy, running the risk of either cashflow problems or the difficulties associated with overtrading. From the Cheyne Row studio, they produced a number of animal and figure models, alongside a range of Chinese inspired high fired, ash glazed stoneware vessels. Whether by design or accident, much of the figurative work of Vyse and Waller partnership, would in the future, prove problematical for collectors. To make sure that the width of all the samples was represented, the boat moved side to side of the entire channel of as samples of the water surface were collected. To get samples that are representative of the depth, the geologists sampled the upper 0.2 to 2.5m of the riverusing a three meter long tube with a diameter of five centimeters. The shores of the SpringCreek were also sampled in order to determine if there was any deposition of heavy metals along the shores (Alpers, Taylor, Domagalski, 2000). The EPA used data that was collected from the SCDD by the United States Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) In the 1960s, the USBR dammed Spring Creek with the SCDD to prevent heavy metals from dispersing throughout the Spring Creek water system. Some of the things that technology is being replaced are Robots, automation and software. For many types of jobs as these powerful new technologies are improving they are also being adopted not only in manufacturing or in retail work but in many professions such as law, financial services, education and medicine. In how technology has put people out of jobs such as the Industrial Revolution. In the 1800 s to be exact was when it all started. 1800 s was a time in America when people started to find out the advantages of using technology in their daily work routines. The machines were able to do the work up to 10 times faster than the manual laborer. According to Jeremy Rifkin As the new generation of smart robots, armed with greater intelligence and flexibility, make their way to the market, automakers are far more likely to substitute them for workers because they are most cost effective (Rifkin page 4). Along with this, the machines became a more reliable source of work rather than a human being and like Mr. Rifkin said it will cost less to have machines rather than humans to work for them. Now in the year 2000 s, we can use the internet whenever we want to and where ever we are. As quoted on the article New Technology and The End of Jobs says that It is estimated each robot replaces four jobs in the economy and it can be in constant use in twenty four hours in a day (Rifkin page 4). Basically the machines are always there and they will never complain of how many hours it had been up. The internet is a great example how technology is taking over those kinds of jobs. Now if you want you can buy food, clothing, electronics, and cars off the internet. This makes it easier for us to do things by ourselves without leaving the comfort of
  • 48. Reflection Paper On Baptismism I begin preparation about two weeks prior to sermon date of September 19. Using the 2017 Official United Methodist Program Calendar I found that I had originally chosen to continue the Romans theme as in my past three weeks, so going off lectionary, with Romans 14:13 23. But looking ahead I decided to combine that on September 17th so I could choose Psalm 78:1 7 (lectionary) instead. This spoke to me as a way to preach about baptism. Since my pre planning in August, a family has decided to have their 18 month old baptized on September 24. I read the scripture three times throughout the day and initially noticed at the very beginning the mention of telling parables and uttering hidden meanings. This intrigued me. Also the mention of the word children several times seems to relate to the baptism well. A few days later I reread the scripture and the word generation jumped out at me as well as put their trust in God and would not forget . How has the understanding of baptism changed since it began, or even since my baptism or my children s baptisms? I looked at my Worship Annual for the week of September 24 to see if any of the planning resources spoke to Psalm 78 or related it to baptism. It referred to children a couple of times but not baptism in any way. Back to what about hidden truths or meanings spoken in parables? Why do we call baptism a sacrament? What is sacred? Is sacred, things that have hidden meanings or layers like an onion, to reveal
