Discuss How End Of Life Communication Impacts Service User...
Discuss how end of life communication impacts service user experience of ?death and dying?.
Introduction
Communication is an act of imparting information from one person to another in the way that it is
understood. Communicating can become more complex and diverse, as is the subject matter that
makes it so diverse.
Within the field of Death and Dying ,communication and practice a hotly debated and peoples
opinions and approaches can be very hugely. Various models of care i.e. such as biomedical is critical
and nature and has no scope for the development of feeling. I would have favourite person centred
approach, but this can only be as good as the persons understanding of this model, different methods

(Oliver, 2012).
As a practitioner in the social care field, I understand how important it is to implement an effective
plan of care that is delivered at the tight time and place. This needs to be a partnership between the
patient and the principle caregivers.
Death is often associated with those who have a life limiting condition and often receiving what is
known as pallet of care, which can be in a hospice, okay home or hospital. We know death because in
many different settings including home and sadly in the custody setting, these can be very different
circumstances, which can be, and including sudden death or suicide. However where in when people
die together with specific health needs, socio economic status, gender and ethnic city will affect
communication with others during the dying process. We have a duty of care to be open and honest to
dispel preconceived ideas, support individuals thoughts and support feelings with clear skilled
communication by the multidisciplinary team.
However if we solely concentrated on the biomedical approach to its delivery we would only provide
symptomatic management for the condition itself with possible symptoms and treatments (Rogers,
2009, pg.71). It should also be pointed out that there are to be expected clashes, as the truth is not
always interpreted, as

Hedge Funds Feature Returns Different From Those Of Mutual...
Hedge funds feature returns different from those of mutual funds. The different trading strategies and
investment styles are amongst a few factors that explain the difference (Boyson, 2010). The
institutional and individual investors create a common pool of funds and employ professional
managers to manage the fund. Ideally the manager is compensated from two sets of fees: management
fee and performance fee. They impose a management fee based on the size of the asset managed,
usually at the rate between 1 2%. A performance fee will be imposed at the rate between 20 30% of
the returns on the investments made (lecture notes).
Unlike mutual funds who only charge a management fee, much of the hedge funds compensation
structure is linked to the fund performance. To avoid cases of managers charging the investor
performance fees twice for the same returns, there is a prescription that managers should not charge
any fee for a fund that has lost ground (Boyson, 2010). However, when the performance surpasses the
previous performance level known as a ?high water mark?, the manager can charge the performance
fees once again. Furthermore, many funds may also carry out a hurdle rate that managers must achieve
before they charge any incentive fees (lecture notes).
Related Agency Issues and solutions
Agency issues arise when one party (principal) gives another party (agent) an authority to act on his
behalf. In this context, the principal is the investor while the professional hedge fund

Why Did The Orcs Cast To A Baron Wasteland
It must be hard to grasp this idea, but in the evidence shows it to be true. Why is he automatically
considered a bad guy because of the way he looks and his enemies say he is? Also, why were the orcs
cast to a baron wasteland? You never actually see Sauron be evil. Gandalf, an enemy of Sauron, only
tells Frodo this to destroy him. He talks about him in detail. If this was a 90 s movie, Sauron would be
the coach who brings these mistreated misfits together to beat the upper class snobs. But in this movie
they are portrayed as terrible beings. Maybe the only reason they re fighting is to rebel against the
higher class and Sauron is their leader. Now it seems like something worse is happening. Immortality,
which prevents progress. Imagine a

The Cardiac Cycle
To keep the blood moving around the body supplying vital nutrients to cells and removing waste, a
cycle of contractions (systole) and relaxations (diastole) take place, this cycle is known as the cardiac
cycle. There are three stages to the cardiac cycle, all stages happen during one heartbeat (cycle) and
take less than a second in total (Revisionworld.com, 2017), these different stages are pictured in figure
11.
During stage one the pressure in both ventricles decreases as they relax, the atrioventricular valves
open slightly and blood is pumped through them due to a contraction of the atria. Blood is prevented
from flowing backwards as the valves of the vena cava and pulmonary vein close. During stage two
pressure in the ventricles increases

Cultural Assessment of the Korean American
Cultural Assessment of a Korean American Culture includes the customs, traditions, ideas, and ways
of interacting with the environment that often differ in various parts of the world. Over the last several
decades in the U.S. there has been a growing awareness and tolerance of cultures other than the
traditional western culture in the community. And in healthcare we are expected to provide all patients
and families with the same respect and treatment, but at the same time provide individualized care. In
order to meet these standards the work place environment has responded with training and education
on cultural competence. The term cultural competence can be defined by the ability to respect and

And she also told me that many of the older generation do not speak English other than a few words,
even if they have live in US for many years. Due to the strong family ties the elderly rely on their
children to translate for them. She said that many of the older generation have only immigrated to the
U.S. to follow their children and that because of this they expect their children to accommodate them
and to communicate for them when needed.
Parenting Styles and Roles of Family M.S. explained that the Korean culture has very defined family
roles with the male dominating over the female. The male in the home is identified by M.S. as being
the traditional bread winner . She noted that it is important to a man s identity that he is able to work
even as he ages. The females are allowed, and often needed to work, but the care for the children at
home as well as for the aging parents of both the husband and wife is priority. M.S. told me that she
was only allowed to work certain shifts and hours due to the need to accommodate her family. As
mentioned earlier it is the strong tradition of respect for parents and grandparents that encourages the
arrangement of caring for the elderly at home, and if at all possible to never place a parent in an
institution such as a nursing home. M.S. stated that the family as a unit is collectively more important
and individualism is frowned upon. When I asked M.S. about adoption she

Maternity Insurance Research Papers
Approximately sixteen percent of all females in the United States are without maternity insurance
coverage. In the event that they may become pregnant, these women could be confronted with an
overwhelming amount of medical expenses, particularly if they experience complications with their
pregnancy. In this article we will discuss a number of techniques on how to find low cost maternity
health insurance coverage. Our goal is to help you find the right maternity insurance coverage to help
you save as much money as possible on your pregnancy.
What is the definition of maternity insurance?
Maternity insurance is individual health insurance coverage that includes an additional maternity rider.
As of January 2011, there are no stand alone maternity insurance plans. Many companies do offer
discount maternity programs. However, be very careful with these types of discount health programs
as they are not insurance plans and usually promise more than they ever deliver.
There are essentially two types of individual health insurance that you can purchase that offer
coverage for maternity: One type of health plan is known as an indemnity insurance plan. This form of
health plan will allow you to pick your own medical doctor and hospital. Because of this freedom, an
indemnity health plan can turn out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This coverage is limited to the amounts defined in the maternity coverage rider. Make sure that you
take time to completely understand the maternity rider offered by an insurance company before you
make the decision to buy the insurance coverage. If you have insurance through your job, typically
known as group insurance, then the coverage is usually more comprehensive.

Baking Soda History
Baking soda was founded 4 million years ago. What it basically started as was, Trona deposits, that
are, formed after the evaporation of great salt lakes in Wyoming, as well as in Kenya, Egypt,
Venezuela and the desert of Central Asia (Arm and Hammer). Ancient Egyptians used baking soda for
cleaning their teeth, keeping their clothes cleans and keeping their meat and vegetables fresh. This
happened around 2500 BC. Then in 1846, John Dwight and his brother in law, Dr. Austin Church,
developed bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) as a leavening agent for home baking goods (Arm and
Hammer). They took this and developed their own company. Many people use baking soda for
cooking but they also use it for cleaning their clothes, dishes, brushing their teeth and to keep the
smell out of your refrigerator. In the scientific world, baking soda is known as, a white crystalline
powder (NaHCO3) better known to chemists as sodium bicarbonate, bicarbonate of soda, sodium
hydrogen carbonate, or sodium acid carbonate ( Baking Soda ).

At the dusk of the Second World War (WWII), there were concerns to the stability of the global

World Bank and International Monetary Fund (both jointly referred to as International Financial

Constantine s Influence On Christianity
One of the Most monumental moments for the Christian Church was the conversion of Constantine in
312 AD. This drastically changed christians lives, before they had suffered huge amounts of
persecution. In Rome today still stands the Coliseum, to which the christians were fed to the lions as
entertainment. Constantine, under the influence of his epiphany, changed this. He believed his victory
at the battle of Milvian Bridge was a sign from God and as a result he enforced christianity as the
main religion of Rome . Constantine, was inspired by his new found faith, four main aspects made
Chrisianity far more attractive to him than other pagan religions. Christianity was a well established

God the son, which were the very foundations of the Christian Church. The essence of the debate, was
theological rather than christological and lied mainly with the wording of the creed; We believe in
God the father, Almighty and Jesus christ his begotten son Theologians such as Arius from Alexandria
, took on the adoptionist approach, that Jesus couldn t be divine as he suffered and changed. The son
was therefore subsequently inferior to the Father. He goes further to suggest that it both the father and
the son are eternal beings in their own right; then arguably there are two Gods this goes against the
original monotheism of the church and argued that this was inaccurate, as the church was meant to be
monotheism. The creed was open to interpretation and the church was unable to explain the trinity.
Arius raised the Question about the Son s relationship to the father to a metaphysical and ontological,
in defining the divinity of the logus. Arius produces two presuppositions; God for Arius was above all

Adam And Eve Dialectical Journal
Eve s Impact on Adam
The Diaries of Adam and Eve are a Mark Twain satirical retelling of the bible s Adam and Eve. Twain
s Diary entry style cleverly represents how differently, both the characters react and develop after
meeting for the first time. Adam feels that Eve s introduction worsens his quality of life because he
feels invaded and he longs for the comfort of his own solitude whereas, Eve is interested in Adam and
doesn t like the feeling of solitude. As the diary entries progress it is Eve who takes the first steps to
make the relationship work because unlike Adam, she can t deal with loneliness. Eve is portrayed as a
very intelligent and scientific character due to the fact that she names everything and is very interested

Even though the situation seems hopeless, Eve is persistent and she believes that Adam would
eventually get lonely and seek her out. She thinks this way because that is what she feels when she is
lonely. Adam eventually allows Eve be a constant companion and accepts Eve s insistence in giving
everything a name because he acknowledges that she is trying to be useful to him. Adam starts to use
the word we instead of I because Eve has been using it meaning that although he doesn t particularly
like her, he is still being influenced by her. Despite her discovery of fire, Adam is still unappreciative
of her findings because he still sees no practical use for any of it even though Eve notices that the fire
cooked the apples and made them taste better. Adam believes he has authority over Eve and it is
evident when Eve tries to stop his dangerous adventures with the waterfall. Instead of listening to
reason Adam ignores the scolding and continues his dangerous practice and Eve becomes resentful. In
Adam s extract he finds that although Eve s enthusiasm for the beauty in the world useless it still
opens his own eyes to it She is all girlish enthusiasm over the color of the sunset and similar
phenomena, which he finds quite useless. But he is reduced to the prose poem type of description she
gives to the dawn and sunset in regard to her beauty. (Derda) He realizes how beautiful Eve is in the
sunset because her actions make him aware of trivial things such as

Chemical Weathering
Background Information
Chemical weathering occurs when the erosion of rocks and the disintegration of rocks are caused by
chemical reactions with water and substances dissolved in it. This can occur in places where rainfall is
common, it occurs more rapidly at higher temperatures. Since high temperatures and damp areas cause
the chemical weathering process to increase, you can infer that chemical weathering occurs more
frequently in the spring.
There are different types of chemical weathering, the three big ones being solution, hydrolysis, and
oxidation. Solution weathering occurs when sulphuric acid in the air mixes with rainwater turning it
into acid rain. This is most common in highly polluted areas such as China which is a very big country
with a lot of cities and rural manufacturing plants. Acidic rain can remove/damage rocks, limestone is
especially vulnerable to weathering by rain water containing CO2. The next type, hydrolysis
weathering, breaks down rocks by acidic water to produce clay and a soluble salt. The only rock not
affected by hydrolysis is quartz. Finally the last type of weathering is the breakdown of rocks by
oxygen and water called oxidation, which makes rocks less resistant ... Show more content on

Conviction In Criminal Cases
Houston, your thread is beautifully written. Prosecuting attorneys are the governments advocate, thus
they do enjoy absolute immunity from civil law suits. For example if a defendant has a conviction
overturned on appeal, they cannot sue the prosecutor for malpractice. The objective of the prosecution
in a criminal case is not that the prosecution shall win the case, but that justice shall be done, in
addition to reducing crime (Neubauer Fradella, 2014. p. 167.). Due to human imperfection, a
prosecutors agenda may reflect a need for a high conviction rate which could be the result of unethical
behavior including but not limited to minimizing justice (e.g., plea bargains) with an attitude that

All citizens in the ordinary world of 1984 do not, or acts as if they do not realize that every aspect of
their lives are being controlled by a symbolic government figure named Big Brother. By portraying a
decisive potentate, the government is able to manage citizen s lives as if they are all marionettes.
Many different mind control techniques are executed upon the society in 1984, such as the novel s

conveying George Orwell s intended subject of psychological manipulation, which proves that it is
possible to believe anything that the government tells them, even while possessing information that
runs counter to propaganda.
A slogan from the Party that occurs throughout the novel and is the basic introduction to the idea of

GDP forecast to 0.6%, leaving annual GDP growth at a steady 3.4%. The CAD has grown to 15.5
billion AUD as of this June quarter, with an overall decrease in the balance of goods and services, but
increased iron ore and coal exports pushed the terms of trade upwards, though it had been falling since
the peak of the mining boom in 2011, initiating downward revisions in the CAD (Figures released by
the ABS shows that they have reviewed and narrowed the deficit by $5.8BN). Also narrowing the

The Effect Of Salt Solution Concentration On The Mass
Biology 11 SL Pooria Taheri

Osmolarity in Potatoes
Research question:
What is the effect of salt solution concentration on the mass in russet potatoes?
Background
Osmosis is a process which molecules of a solvent pass through membrane from a less concentrated
area to a more concentrated area until it equalize the concentration on both side. Isotonic, hypertonic,
hypotonic solutions can be generally used to compare concentration of a solute in two solutions.
Hypertonic solution is when one of two solution has a higher concentration of a solute and we call this
type of solution plasmolyzed. Isotonic solution is when both solutions have the same concentration of
solute and we call this type of solution flaccid cell. Hypotonic solution is when one of two solution
has a lower concentration of a solute and we call this type of solution turgid cell.
Hypothesis:
I predicted that as more concentrated salt solution added to the potatoes, it will cause the mass of them
to decrease. because as higher concentration of sault solution cause water to move out the cell. The
reason being is because water moves from a hyperosmotic area to (more concentration) a hypsometric
area (less concentration).
Independent variable (x axis)
As the concentration of salt increases the amount of water inside the potatoes decreases. The
concentration is measured in mole. The mole is the

Sir Thomas More s Utopia Chapter 1
Sir Thomas More, in his book, Utopia , dives into the thought of a perfect world. More contrast the
fallacies in which his society lives on to those of a functional society described by Raphael Hythloday,
an explorer and philosopher. Divided into two parts, I will be discussing a major issue asserted in
Book I: the just and unjust treatment of thieves , and how we can change our treatment of inmates in
today s world in a way that brings more good than harm by making inmates do communal work
instead of having them uselessly locked up in a cell. The beginning of book I is a reflective and
indulging conversation between More, Peter Gile, a close friend of More, and Raphael Hythloday.
Throughout their conversation, Hythloday illustrates his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He mentions how kings make their servants useless by making them do effortless and impractical
tasks, so when they are too old to continue their service they go broke, hopeless, and hungry. This
leads them to theft. Hythloday mentions, [Noblemen and kings] carry about them a great number of
idle fellows, who never learned any art by which they may gain their living , which causes them to
steal when they have nothing to eat (CITE7). Furthermore, he describes how noblemen take away
farm land from the settlers and then inflate the prices of food, and what can those who are dismissed
by them do, but either beg or rob? (CITE10). More here is trying to say that bad governing creates
these thieves that later go on to be hanged unfairly due to the cause of kings and noblemen doings,
what else can be concluded from this, but that [kings and noblemen] first make thieves and then
punish them? (CITE11). This concept is rather interesting because it makes us think that maybe the
greed of our leaders, as well as ours, create these thieves and criminals in the first place. For instance,
war, in which Hythloday also concludes that war is never good to either side, creates these criminals,
and we can see it in today s world too. The invasion of nations creates tension and aggressiveness,
which creates enemies, or terrorists as we might call them, but in reality, we were the ones that created
them in the first

Henry Ford Biography Essay
Before 1907 when Henry Ford installed the first assembly line, the early 20th century provided
automobiles for mostly the rich as a showing of keeping up with the Jonseses. The car models were
mostly complicated machines which mostly required a chauffeur knowledgeable on how to operate the
complex automobile. The invention helped reduce a four men work to a one men power. It first took
around more than 12 hours to build one car to 2 hours and about 30 minutes. Henry Ford said that by
the aid of scientific study one man is now able to do somewhat more than four did only a
comparatively few years ago. That line established the efficiency of the method and we now use it
everywhere. The assembling of the motor, formerly done by one man, is now ... Show more content on

Around 1901 it showed that he had been a supervisor and stockholder for the automobile companies.
In 1902 Henry Ford started the Ford Motor Company with an $28,000 investment. He also smart
planned his success. He didn t really trust the banks that kept his investors at an odd. His early plans
were to offer the bankers who wanted to invest in his company that would offer dealer franchises. This
required the franchise dealers to pay for the automobiles when they were received instead of when
they were sold. This helped him have additional capital to expand his manufacturing enterprise, invest
in research and provide for his dream. Henry Ford stated that I would build a car for the great
multitude. It will be large enough for the family, but small enough for the individual to run and care
for. It will be constructed of the best materials, by the best men to be hired, after the simplest designs
that modern engineering can devise. But it will be low in price that no man making a good salary will
be unable to own one and enjoy with his family the blessing of hours of pleasure in God s great open
spaces. This soon clearly started his dreams he announced in 1907 that soon came true. Henry Ford
built nine models before the Model T came forward, a significant

Hezbollah And The Arab-Israeli Conflict
Hezbollah and the Arab Israeli Conflict Many have heard of terrorism in the Middle East, and all of
the conflict that it has caused. There are many terrorist groups who seek to promote terrorism and
convert people to radical Islam. However, many would have not expected Hezbollah, an organization
that formed in the 1980s to remove oppressive Israeli troops from Lebanon and also had financial
support from the Iranian government, to become one of the supposed Middle East s worst terrorists,
and also to become one of the biggest players in the Arab Israeli conflict and cause huge political
sway. Hezbollah, the Party of God , is an organization fraught with Shia muslims which is currently

The Fact Of The Resurrection Of Jesus
The change of Jesus disciples from a frightened, despondent, frustrated band to the courageous
preachers of Jesus as Messiah and the instrument of salvation was triggered by his resurrection.
It was because God had risen up Jesus that the apostles could perform mighty works.
The Fact of the Resurrection The Gospels corroborate more than a few facts. First, Jesus was dead.
Second, the faiths of the disciples were also gone. A third fact is that the disciples dissuasion and
frustration was swiftly changed into poise and conviction. A fourth fact is the empty tomb which is
witnessed to by all the Gospels and it is taken as fact in Paul s creedal declaration. A fifth historic fact
is the resurrection faith. Belief in the resurrection of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The distinctive conflation of the roles of Servant and Messiah is thus stimulated. Jesus as Messiah
accomplishes the role of the suffering servant.
Jesus has suffered as Messiah, he is now dignified as Messiah, and he need yet come as Messiah to
bring the eschatological conclusion.
The Beginning of the Resurrection
Thus the resurrection of Jesus has certainly brought in a new age, the messianic age while the Age to
come remains in the upcoming. The resurrection of the dead actually remains an event at the last day,
but because of the resurrection of Christ this eschatological event has already begun to unfold. The
early church found itself living in a pull stuck between the already realized and expectation. We are
living in the age of fulfillment but, the day of consummation stands yet in the future.
The Kingdom of God
The dominant subject of Jesus preaching was the Kingdom of God. While this leitmotif is not
characterized as one of the fundamental themes of the first apostolic preaching, it is not altogether
lacking.
While the early disciples refer to the Kingdom of God it is not clear whether the position is to the
eschatological order or not. Now and then the Kingdom of God has become almost a substitute for the

Summary Of Second Skins
Second Skins: The Body Narratives of Transsexuality Jay Prosser
Prosser (1998) enters the gender identity conversation with a rather counter intuitive project. At a time
when poststructuralism is busily deconstructing the sex/gender linkage in ways that transcend the
materiality of the subject, Prosser wants to bring the ontological trans body back into the dialogue by
charting the arc of the changing body within transgender narratives. Only by mapping these transitions
in this frame can he describe a complex transsexual experience that breaks free from the political
binaries used by essentialists and poststructuralists, such as literal/deliteralizing,
subversive/hegemonic (16). If the former has been guilty of a dogmatic reliance on a narrow
understanding of biology to describe transsexuals, Prosser argues, then the former is equally guilty of
deconstructing gender to the point of reducing the material body to an inconvenient concept (13).
Although critique of bio determinists is mostly implicit throughout this work (save for Raymond,
whose seminal work is called out numerous times), Prosser focuses the bulk of Second Skins on
analyzing the queer movement s strategies to initially align with, and then appropriate, transgender
subjectivity. He argues from 1998 this is to act as leverage to loosen the fixity of gender identities...
(and) enable affiliation between gay men and lesbians (5). While some of this argument reads as
antiquated two decades later, the idea of

Similarities And Differences Of The Boston Massacre And...
There are many differences and similarities between the Boston Massacre and the Kent State shooting.
One similarity between the two are that both the students and the colonist were throwing rocks and
calling the the soldiers unpoliet names. Both the Ohio National Guard and the British Soldiers fired at
the students and colonist. Also both the National Guard and the British soldiers carried bayonets. Both
protests were strong enough that proper authorities had to come in and help maintain the crowd who
were protesting. The protesters both went to a bar before they started to protest. Now I m going to start
talking about some differences. There are many similarities; however, there are also many differences.
To start, the Boston Massacre started because the colonist didn t want to pay taxes (Townshend Act)
unless they had representatives in parliament. The colonist were having to pay for land that they were
not allowed to use, they also had to pay taxes for the British soldiers to come to the colonies. It only
made the colonist more mad when they had to pay for the British soldiers to come to the colonies. The

The Second Great Awakening was a religious movement that took place in the late eighteenth and

Argumentative Essay On Privatization Of Water
The Argument Against Privatizing Water Utilities in North Carolina. On July 28th, 2010, the United
Nations recognized access to safe and clean water and sanitation as human rights (UN News Center).
Despite this recognition, there is a growing movement to privatize water utilities ‒ to treat them as a
commodity to be sold rather than as a basic human right, and a necessity. Growing rates of
privatization led Fortune magazine to claim that water promises to be to the 21st century what oil was
to the 20th century: the precious commodity that determines the wealth of nations (Tulley, Water,
Water Everywhere ). There is not one instance of a human right being expected to be protected by a
private entity in any other industry. The water industry should not be a private sector, yet in 2010
private companies controlled 12% of water utilities world wide (Masons, 14). While proponents of
privatization such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund argue that privatizing these
systems are more efficient, and that private companies are better equipped to tackle the challenge of
providing water to a growing world, access to water as a right must be protected. The privatization of
water has broader implications on the communities that these utilities serve, and have large strides to
make in terms of affordability, customer service, and transparency. In contrast from many states who
have a network of many medium and large water systems for their municipalities, North

The One Ring In Tolkein s The Lord Of The Rings
The One Ring is perceived as the machine that has the ability to tempt any individual into using it due
to its great powers: `It is by our own folly that the Enemy will defeat us, cried Boromir. `How it
angers me! Fool! Obstinate fool! Running wilfully to death and ruining our cause. If any mortals have
claim to the Ring, it is the men of Númenor, and not Halflings. It is not yours save by unhappy chance.
It might have been mine. It should be mine. Give it to me! (Tolkein). Tolkein conveys the concept and
illustrates the power of fellowship throughout Frodo s journey to Mordor. Although the Ring entices
Frodo when he and his companions encounter the Black Riders, Frodo withstands the temptation to

trust us to keep any secret of yours closer than you keep it yourself. But you cannot trust us to let you
face trouble alone, and go off without a word (Tolkein 103). As they progressed, the journey became
more dangerous and ironically, Merry, Pippin, and Sam grew greater desire to accompany Frodo. At
Elrond s Council, this gives Gandalf the impression that the hobbits should be members of the
Company: I think, Elrond, that in this matter it would be well to trust rather to their friendship than to
great wisdom. Even if you chose for us an elf lord, such as Glorfindel, he could not storm the Dark
Tower, nor open the road to the Fire by the power that is in him (Tolkein). Gandalf believes that
fellowship would be greater protection to Frodo against evil than to choose three other individuals

Sexual Connotation Of Dance And Music In Brazil
The article I choose is about sex in the media from Brazil, and the reason I decided to sheer the reality
from my country was my amazement about it. The magazine describe the music phrases in a popular
song that a lot kids in Brazil dancing and singing all the time. The combination words using in the
music had strong sexuality connotation, which shocked people who do not used to it. For example:
Now, I m going to talk about your rights: your right to sit, your right to quit, the right to shake ... stay
quiet, stay, be quiet. Today I m going to dance with a little skirt (that way) . Today I m single and no
one will hold me....if they play with the little I make the man go crazy . She comes out of skirt and
bikini, one hand goes on the handlebars and the other covers her panties. This kind of music is all the
time in the radio and television, many different parties, houses and people s lives, for some it has

Ethnographic Interview Essay
Ethnographic studies can give insight into the way that stereotypes are seen and perceived in the real
world. Audrey Shalinsky defines ethnographic fieldwork as a scientific and artistic approach to the
description and analysis of cultural systems (Shalinsky, 968). I chose to do the ethnographic interview
as I wanted to learn about someone else s experiences and hear a different point of view than my own.
I interviewed one of my Cambodian friends who asked if their name could be omitted for privacy
purposes. He and I met at a Starbucks so that I could conduct my interview in a relaxed setting where
my interviewee would feel comfortable and open to talk about his experiences as someone from
Southeast Asian descent. Throughout my interview, I asked him what stereotypes he has encountered
and what stereotype he himself projects onto others. He talked about how he goes about his day to day
life and how that causes him to be stereotyped in a certain way and the way that he makes assumptions
about others based on their lifestyles and appearances. I wanted to mainly focus on the ways that he
has been racially stereotyped, but I also wanted to be able to analyze any other stereotypes that people
may have developed towards him. Also, I asked him how other people stereotyping him affect him
and why he thinks that other people create and use stereotypes to define people that they do not know.
Michael Pickering defines stereotyping as gain and loss and can change the social

  • 2. Discuss How End Of Life Communication Impacts Service User... Discuss how end of life communication impacts service user experience of ?death and dying?. Introduction Communication is an act of imparting information from one person to another in the way that it is understood. Communicating can become more complex and diverse, as is the subject matter that makes it so diverse. Within the field of Death and Dying ,communication and practice a hotly debated and peoples opinions and approaches can be very hugely. Various models of care i.e. such as biomedical is critical and nature and has no scope for the development of feeling. I would have favourite person centred approach, but this can only be as good as the persons understanding of this model, different methods of communication and it approaches ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Oliver, 2012). As a practitioner in the social care field, I understand how important it is to implement an effective plan of care that is delivered at the tight time and place. This needs to be a partnership between the patient and the principle caregivers. Death is often associated with those who have a life limiting condition and often receiving what is known as pallet of care, which can be in a hospice, okay home or hospital. We know death because in many different settings including home and sadly in the custody setting, these can be very different circumstances, which can be, and including sudden death or suicide. However where in when people die together with specific health needs, socio economic status, gender and ethnic city will affect communication with others during the dying process. We have a duty of care to be open and honest to dispel preconceived ideas, support individuals thoughts and support feelings with clear skilled communication by the multidisciplinary team. However if we solely concentrated on the biomedical approach to its delivery we would only provide symptomatic management for the condition itself with possible symptoms and treatments (Rogers, 2009, pg.71). It should also be pointed out that there are to be expected clashes, as the truth is not always interpreted, as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Hedge Funds Feature Returns Different From Those Of Mutual... Hedge funds feature returns different from those of mutual funds. The different trading strategies and investment styles are amongst a few factors that explain the difference (Boyson, 2010). The institutional and individual investors create a common pool of funds and employ professional managers to manage the fund. Ideally the manager is compensated from two sets of fees: management fee and performance fee. They impose a management fee based on the size of the asset managed, usually at the rate between 1 2%. A performance fee will be imposed at the rate between 20 30% of the returns on the investments made (lecture notes). Unlike mutual funds who only charge a management fee, much of the hedge funds compensation structure is linked to the fund performance. To avoid cases of managers charging the investor performance fees twice for the same returns, there is a prescription that managers should not charge any fee for a fund that has lost ground (Boyson, 2010). However, when the performance surpasses the previous performance level known as a ?high water mark?, the manager can charge the performance fees once again. Furthermore, many funds may also carry out a hurdle rate that managers must achieve before they charge any incentive fees (lecture notes). Related Agency Issues and solutions Agency issues arise when one party (principal) gives another party (agent) an authority to act on his behalf. In this context, the principal is the investor while the professional hedge fund ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Why Did The Orcs Cast To A Baron Wasteland It must be hard to grasp this idea, but in the evidence shows it to be true. Why is he automatically considered a bad guy because of the way he looks and his enemies say he is? Also, why were the orcs cast to a baron wasteland? You never actually see Sauron be evil. Gandalf, an enemy of Sauron, only tells Frodo this to destroy him. He talks about him in detail. If this was a 90 s movie, Sauron would be the coach who brings these mistreated misfits together to beat the upper class snobs. But in this movie they are portrayed as terrible beings. Maybe the only reason they re fighting is to rebel against the higher class and Sauron is their leader. Now it seems like something worse is happening. Immortality, which prevents progress. The Cardiac Cycle To keep the blood moving around the body supplying vital nutrients to cells and removing waste, a cycle of contractions (systole) and relaxations (diastole) take place, this cycle is known as the cardiac cycle. There are three stages to the cardiac cycle, all stages happen during one heartbeat (cycle) and take less than a second in total (Revisionworld.com, 2017), these different stages are pictured in figure 11. During stage one the pressure in both ventricles decreases as they relax, the atrioventricular valves open slightly and blood is pumped through them due to a contraction of the atria. Over the last several decades in the U.S. there has been a growing awareness and tolerance of cultures other than the traditional western culture in the community. And she also told me that many of the older generation do not speak English other than a few words, even if they have live in US for many years. Due to the strong family ties the elderly rely on their children to translate for them. She said that many of the older generation have only immigrated to the U.S. to follow their children and that because of this they expect their children to accommodate them and to communicate for them when needed. Parenting Styles and Roles of Family M.S. explained that the Korean culture has very defined family roles with the male dominating over the female. The male in the home is identified by M.S. as being the traditional bread winner . She noted that it is important to a man s identity that he is able to work even as he ages. The females are allowed, and often needed to work, but the care for the children at home as well as for the aging parents of both the husband and wife is priority. M.S. told me that she was only allowed to work certain shifts and hours due to the need to accommodate her family. As mentioned earlier it is the strong tradition of respect for parents and grandparents that encourages the arrangement of caring for the elderly at home, and if at all possible to never place a parent in an institution such as a nursing home. This drastically changed christians lives, before they had suffered huge amounts of persecution. In Rome today still stands the Coliseum, to which the christians were fed to the lions as entertainment. Constantine, under the influence of his epiphany, changed this. He believed his victory at the battle of Milvian Bridge was a sign from God and as a result he enforced christianity as the main religion of Rome . She thinks this way because that is what she feels when she is lonely. Adam eventually allows Eve be a constant companion and accepts Eve s insistence in giving everything a name because he acknowledges that she is trying to be useful to him. Adam starts to use the word we instead of I because Eve has been using it meaning that although he doesn t particularly like her, he is still being influenced by her. Despite her discovery of fire, Adam is still unappreciative of her findings because he still sees no practical use for any of it even though Eve notices that the fire cooked the apples and made them taste better. Adam believes he has authority over Eve and it is evident when Eve tries to stop his dangerous adventures with the waterfall. Instead of listening to reason Adam ignores the scolding and continues his dangerous practice and Eve becomes resentful. In Adam s extract he finds that although Eve s enthusiasm for the beauty in the world useless it still opens his own eyes to it She is all girlish enthusiasm over the color of the sunset and similar phenomena, which he finds quite useless. • 15. Chemical Weathering Lab Report Jerry Valente Earth Science 1 11/10/17 Chemical Weathering Background Information Chemical weathering occurs when the erosion of rocks and the disintegration of rocks are caused by chemical reactions with water and substances dissolved in it. This can occur in places where rainfall is common, it occurs more rapidly at higher temperatures. Since high temperatures and damp areas cause the chemical weathering process to increase, you can infer that chemical weathering occurs more frequently in the spring. There are different types of chemical weathering, the three big ones being solution, hydrolysis, and oxidation. Solution weathering occurs when sulphuric acid in the air mixes with rainwater turning it into acid rain. This is most common in highly polluted areas such as China which is a very big country with a lot of cities and rural manufacturing plants. Acidic rain can remove/damage rocks, limestone is especially vulnerable to weathering by rain water containing CO2. The next type, hydrolysis weathering, breaks down rocks by acidic water to produce clay and a soluble salt. The only rock not affected by hydrolysis is quartz. Finally the last type of weathering is the breakdown of rocks by oxygen and water called oxidation, which makes rocks less resistant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Effect Of Salt Solution Concentration On The Mass Biology 11 SL Pooria Taheri Block 2 Osmolarity in Potatoes Research question: What is the effect of salt solution concentration on the mass in russet potatoes? Background Osmosis is a process which molecules of a solvent pass through membrane from a less concentrated area to a more concentrated area until it equalize the concentration on both side. Isotonic, hypertonic, hypotonic solutions can be generally used to compare concentration of a solute in two solutions. Hypertonic solution is when one of two solution has a higher concentration of a solute and we call this type of solution plasmolyzed. Isotonic solution is when both solutions have the same concentration of solute and we call this type of solution flaccid cell. Hypotonic solution is when one of two solution has a lower concentration of a solute and we call this type of solution turgid cell. Hypothesis: I predicted that as more concentrated salt solution added to the potatoes, it will cause the mass of them to decrease. because as higher concentration of sault solution cause water to move out the cell. The reason being is because water moves from a hyperosmotic area to (more concentration) a hypsometric area (less concentration). Furthermore, he describes how noblemen take away farm land from the settlers and then inflate the prices of food, and what can those who are dismissed by them do, but either beg or rob? (CITE10). More here is trying to say that bad governing creates these thieves that later go on to be hanged unfairly due to the cause of kings and noblemen doings, what else can be concluded from this, but that [kings and noblemen] first make thieves and then punish them? (CITE11). This concept is rather interesting because it makes us think that maybe the greed of our leaders, as well as ours, create these thieves and criminals in the first place. For instance, war, in which Hythloday also concludes that war is never good to either side, creates these criminals, and we can see it in today s world too. At a time when poststructuralism is busily deconstructing the sex/gender linkage in ways that transcend the materiality of the subject, Prosser wants to bring the ontological trans body back into the dialogue by charting the arc of the changing body within transgender narratives. Only by mapping these transitions in this frame can he describe a complex transsexual experience that breaks free from the political binaries used by essentialists and poststructuralists, such as literal/deliteralizing, subversive/hegemonic (16). If the former has been guilty of a dogmatic reliance on a narrow understanding of biology to describe transsexuals, Prosser argues, then the former is equally guilty of deconstructing gender to the point of reducing the material body to an inconvenient concept (13). Although critique of bio determinists is mostly implicit throughout this work (save for Raymond, whose seminal work is called out numerous times), Prosser focuses the bulk of Second Skins on analyzing the queer movement s strategies to initially align with, and then appropriate, transgender subjectivity. • 32. Argumentative Essay On Privatization Of Water The Argument Against Privatizing Water Utilities in North Carolina. On July 28th, 2010, the United Nations recognized access to safe and clean water and sanitation as human rights (UN News Center). Despite this recognition, there is a growing movement to privatize water utilities ‒ to treat them as a commodity to be sold rather than as a basic human right, and a necessity. Growing rates of privatization led Fortune magazine to claim that water promises to be to the 21st century what oil was to the 20th century: the precious commodity that determines the wealth of nations (Tulley, Water, Water Everywhere ). There is not one instance of a human right being expected to be protected by a private entity in any other industry. The water industry should not be a private sector, yet in 2010 private companies controlled 12% of water utilities world wide (Masons, 14). While proponents of privatization such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund argue that privatizing these systems are more efficient, and that private companies are better equipped to tackle the challenge of providing water to a growing world, access to water as a right must be protected. The privatization of water has broader implications on the communities that these utilities serve, and have large strides to make in terms of affordability, customer service, and transparency. • 37. Ethnographic Interview Essay Ethnographic studies can give insight into the way that stereotypes are seen and perceived in the real world. Audrey Shalinsky defines ethnographic fieldwork as a scientific and artistic approach to the description and analysis of cultural systems (Shalinsky, 968). I chose to do the ethnographic interview as I wanted to learn about someone else s experiences and hear a different point of view than my own. I interviewed one of my Cambodian friends who asked if their name could be omitted for privacy purposes. He and I met at a Starbucks so that I could conduct my interview in a relaxed setting where my interviewee would feel comfortable and open to talk about his experiences as someone from Southeast Asian descent. Throughout my interview, I asked him what stereotypes he has encountered and what stereotype he himself projects onto others. He talked about how he goes about his day to day life and how that causes him to be stereotyped in a certain way and the way that he makes assumptions about others based on their lifestyles and appearances. I wanted to mainly focus on the ways that he has been racially stereotyped, but I also wanted to be able to analyze any other stereotypes that people may have developed towards him. Also, I asked him how other people stereotyping him affect him and why he thinks that other people create and use stereotypes to define people that they do not know. Michael Pickering defines stereotyping as gain and loss and can change the social ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Jet Copies Essay JET Copies Problem The simulation of Jet Copies can be done by generating random numbers from given probability distributions. The different steps of this simulation and assumption made are explained below. 1. Simulation for the repair time. It is given that the repair time follows Repair Time (days) Probability 1. .20 2. .45 3. .25 4. .10 1.00 To generate a random number from the above distribution, we use the following procedure. Generate a random number denoted by r2 from between 0 and 1. If this generated random number is less than or equal to 0.2 take repair time = 1. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since the break down time is given in weeks, we stop the simulation when total number of weeks greater than 52 5. Summary Generate random number from the break down calculate breakdown time. Generate random number from the repair distribution and calculate repair time require to get the machine repaired. Generate random numbers between 2000 to 8000 and estimate lost revenue due to this particular break down. Calculate the lost revenue by multiplying this number with repair time and revenue from 1 copy ($0.1). Repeat this process until sum of all the break down time exceeds 52 weeks and calculate the total loos. The excel output under two different assumptions are given below. |Repair Distribution | | |P(y) |Cumulative |Repair Time | |0.2 |0 |1 | |0.45 |0.2 |2 | |0.25 |0.65 |3 | |0.1 |0.9 |4 | Break |Random |Time between Break |Random |Repair |Random |Lost |Cumulative | |Down |r1 |downs x (weeks) |r2 |Time |r3 |Rvenue |Time Σx | |1 |0.129 |2.158 |0.520 |2 |2252 |450.4 |2.158 | |2 |0.331 |3.450 |0.092 |1 |5563 |556.3 |5.608 | |3 |0.413 |3.854 |0.642 |2 |5225 |1045 |9.462 | |4 |0.358 |3.588 |0.889 |3 |7515 |2254.5 |13.050 | |5 |0.571 |4.536 |0.606 |2 |3637 ...
