What Are The Pros And Cons Of Genetically Modified Organisms
Genetically Modified Organisms Transgenics and Biopharming In today s world, the need for more
efficient and better quality foods grows greater. The population on earth is thought to increase to nine
billion by the year 2050. To support this population, the application of biotechnology is used to
modify foods. The reason why foods are genetically modified is to produce better quality food which
can also fight off pests, insects, weeds and diseases. Not only can you insert genes to induce these
effects, you can also insert genes to produce medicines which is called biopharming. This then allows
farmers to reduce the use of pesticides and herbicides (agric.wa.gov.au). GMOs can help protect the
world s food supply and reduce the cost on farmers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What happens if all the new GMOs die out due to a certain disease that only affects them? The idea
that GMOs can save the world s food supply is a very old idea and only a small amount of
professional companies can afford the cost and risk of undergoing genetically modified foods. Very
serious risks are associated with transgenics and biopharming yet as the future draws near we look
towards it. I personally believe that we should investigate this technology further in order to provide
better quality foods, increase production, reduce costs and support human life on earth. Safety
protocols do need to be taken seriously in this however, precautions like growing the GM foods in
greenhouses, running safety checks and intensive

Age Of Exploration Christopher Columbus
The Age of Exploration was a period of time from the 15th to 17th centuries where explorers started to
explore new lands and territories in order to find new trade routes. Europeans went west to explore
and claim the new world for their countries. The renaissance influenced these explorers to find new
lands and the reformation also influenced European explorers to spread their religion and try to
convert others to Christianity. Some of the most influential and key explores in this time period where
Christopher Columbus, Henry Hudson and Hernan Cortes.
Christopher Columbus was the one of the most influential explorers in the Age of Exploration. He was
the first European to explore the Americas. Columbus set off on his journey south from Palos Spain
with 3 ships. He believed that he would reach the edge of Japan in 10 days if he sailed west to
uncharted territory. Instead of being on the water for 10 days, he was on the water for about 30 days
and he found the americas. He landed in the bahamas and then claimed it for Spain. Christopher
Columbus should be viewed as a villain in history because he killed millions of the native Americans
with disease and overworking them. He captured thousands of natives and made them into slaves. He
also set in motion the Africans being put in the slavery. Even though he discovered the Americas he
murdered many lives. Christopher Columbus be a villain in history because of his horrible actions
towards the native people.

Companionship Quotes In Frankenstein
According to the Oxford University Press, companionship is defined as, friendship, fellowship,
closeness, togetherness, amity, intimacy, rapport, camaraderie, brotherhood, sisterhood; company,
society, social contact. All these words form the idea of two people spending their time and life
together. The idea of companionship is a necessity in life, because all different types of people and
creations rely on the company of others. Without the company of others, people no longer act as they
should in society. They no longer learn new things and they become outcasts. In the book,
Frankenstein, the creature lives his life without a companion and the outcome is tragic.

He lived through many traumatic events all alone because he didn t have a companion with him. This
mental illness of PTSD, could have been avoided if he would have had a companion that looked like
him and thus treated him kindly.
The creature having PTSD leads him into becoming violent. This violence comes from the isolation of
a person or in this case the creature not having a companion and thus living life in isolation. There are
not many people who live their life in ...isolation (as a cause of violence), which produces such a
small percentage... of people who turn violent (Ransford). Being without a companion will lead to this
violent out lash towards others. In the case of the creature, he has ... sworn eternal revenge; you shall
be my first victim, and decides that violence is the answer to get revenge on the humans (Shelley 150).
He does this because he is living his life in isolation, not relating on a personal level to anyone. The
creature doesn t stop with just one victim, rather he is the cause for the deaths of ...William, Justine,
Elizabeth, my father, and of the wretched Victor... (Shelley 198). If the creature would have had a
companion he would have been happy and lived his rest of his life off in South America. A companion
would have prevented the violence, because the creature would have had someone to

Music Class Under The Instruction And Supervision Of Mr....
We learned several things in Music class under the instruction and supervision of Mr. Gonzales. We
started in a timeline beginning at the very first instrument ever, the heart. The heart was the very first
beat and clave was formed based on this beat . Clave is the foundation of almost every Latin song and
most songs found around the world. Developed in Africa as one the earliest beats, clave was played on
one of the first instruments, the Bongo drums. All drums are based after this drum which is still widely
used in Africa for celebrations among tribes. The Bongo drums were made, originally, from wood and
cowhide. Another ancient instrument was the Timbales (drums) which were made of brass and cow
hide. Drums, now, are made of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The gong is another percussion instrument that is a type of cymbal and is untuned. Maracas are also a
percussion instruments because sound is made by shaking them and are untuned, as well. The voice
can also be a percussion through beat boxing, making noise that resembles that of drums and other
instruments. There are also many string instruments. The Clavichord instrument is one of the oldest
string instruments and is only capable of producing a small sound. The ones used, mainly, in an
orchestra are as follow: Violin (fiddle), Viola, Cello, and the Double Bass. A violin can also be called a
fiddle as it is usually called in folk music. The viola is a fretless instrument and, thus, harder to play.
Other popular string instruments are the acoustic guitar whose origin dates back thousands of years in
Greek, Sanskrit, and Arabic cultures. Some examples of guitar like instruments are the Dotar (two
strings), the Setar (three strings), the Qithara (four strings), the Panchtar (five strings), and the Tamber,
which is the ancestor of the modern day guitar. Acoustic instruments don t generally have a need for
amplification and is not electric. The very first guitars consisted of six strings. Antonio Torres new
construction music paved the way for modern day guitars. Strings on guitars can, either, be made of
steel or nylon. Steel strings are louder and more durable than nylon, and are also more

Hawaii Compare And Contrast
Hawaii s area is 28 311 km2. it`s about 1 360 301 people who live there. Hawaii is the newest of the
50 American states and is the only state consisting of islands only. It occupies most of the eye catching
Hawaiian Islands in the Central Pacific, southwest of the Continental United States, southeast of Japan
and northeast of Australia.
Hawaii has a typical tropical climate, except that the temperature and humidity tend to be slightly less
extreme compared with other tropical areas thanks to constant winds from the east. The temperatures
are hot all year and there are small differences between months. In summer, temperatures often reach
around 31 ° C during the day and 24 ° C at night. In winter the temperature is around 28 ° C and at

Roughly, they can be divided into rhetorical and living areas based on their relative to the higher
mountains. Lovart areas may receive much more rain than the lesser areas, which are drier and
sunbathing. This fact is used by the tourism industry, which favor camp.
Map of Hawaii
Hawaii is the southernmost state of the United States, and the westernmost after Alaska. It is also,
along with Alaska, the only one that is outside of the United States and lacks a border with any other
American state. Hawaii is the only American state that is distinct from the mainland, is completely
surrounded by water, continues to grow surface due to lava flows mainly from Kilauea and is entirely
in the tropics.
Apart from Easter Island, Hawaii is further away from land than any other landmass on Earth. Hawaii
s highest mountain, Mauna Kea is 4205 m above sea level. but is higher than Mount Everest if
measured from the bottom of the Pacific.
Geology
All of Hawaii s islands have been created by volcanoes that reside from the seabed, according to the
theory of hot spots. The theory argues that the Pacific tectonic plate moves towards the northwest
while the hot spot stays still, which slowly creates new volcanoes. The latest volcanic eruption outside
the main island of Hawaii occurred at Haleakala in Maui in the late 18th

Designing A Website Of The Chandigarh University ( Cu )
CHAPTER 1 Introduction and Concept Formulation 1.1 Case Study and Problem Statement In this
project, we are going to make a website of the Chandigarh university (CU) which including
attendances, login/username and result exams. The main benefit of this web site to provide a simple
and efficient layout or store a data for student, admin and faculty to access their data from their homes
or also within the University Premises .Before to designing of the website, we need to know that there
are different type of attacks were taken place which malfunctioning the important data through
viruses. There are different kinds of web application attacks like XSS, SQL Injection Inclusion
Vulnerabilities (LFI and RFI). The main problem is web security (hacking) in network of affected
computers and that are propagating through network and server without the knowledge of
administrator. Another problem is in uploading the whole and accurate data of staff, students and
admin data from remote location. Web site works on different types of login, students and staff only
excess own user name and administrator excess the all data. In the Management system only admin
and staff member can easily upload their data including creation, modification and deletion of data,
but only student is having view rights. In this website we include graphics like all images of facility
provided in University like Library, Grounds, Hostel, and Cafeteria etc.

Trends Of Property Prices Are Negatively Tracked By...
Trends in property prices are passionately tracked by economists because it is often a person s biggest
purchase and can also affect the rest of the economy. Property price trends are affected by many
factors, however they are like all other normal goods, price and demand are inversely related, if the
house prices are high fewer people will be willing and able to buy a house. Property prices tend to
increase as time goes by, this is positive equity as the owners are better off. However, as seen in the
2008 recession many people were in negative equity because the outstanding debt is more than the
house s retail value. If consumer confidence is absent it discourages expenditure, because if they
cannot pay, the house could be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since there are more people in the UK, and they are living longer, the number of second hand
properties being sold is less, causing the prices of ones on the market to increase.
Dwellings have a high income elasticity of demand, so if the level of income increases demand for
property will also increase. Also, when people s income increases they are more likely to buy
properties than rent, also increasing average prices. There has been an overall increase in house prices
because 20 years ago average income was £19,774, peaking to 24,683 in 2008, then decreasing to
£22,524 in 2014 (source: rate inflation).
Social trends can also affect house prices, recently a trend has emerged for later marriages, the mean
age for marriage has increased by 8 years for men and women since 1972 (source: ONS). This has led
to an increase in demand for smaller dwellings such as apartments, causing the prices of these forms
of residence to rise.
The Bank of England can change the base rate of interest; this will be passed on by banks to the
general public, increasing the amount paid on variable rate mortgages. A higher rate will rule some
people out from being able to afford the house they want, decreasing demand for houses and lowering
the value of ones on the market. Recently, due to the economic crash the interest rate has

An Expert And A Disciple For An Extended Period
An expert is influential in many aspects of society like health and identity. Experts, for the purpose of
this paper are people who have a degree or have worked in a disciple for an extended period.
Additionally, an expert must have comprehensive or authoritative knowledge and skill in their
particular area of expertise. Facts are pieces of information that are indisputably the case and are an
objective reality. Interpretation is to understand (something) in a specified way that shows your own
thoughts and feelings about it; in the light of personal belief, judgment, or circumstance [1]. Different

Identifying Communication Styles As A Training Professional
Identifying Communication Styles
As a training professional, you need to be able to differentiate effective and ineffective communication
styles, and understand that their style of communication may often conflict with the way messages are
interpreted. By understanding different communication styles, we can help our students begin to
understand how to separate the message from the communication style of the person with whom they
are communicating and to appropriately respond to the content of the message.
Examples would be a supervisor saying to a subordinate in loud and angry tone of voice ...can t you
do anything right? (aggressive style) or a shop clerk rolling her eyes back as she tells the customer
rummaging through her purse take your time, I m not busy at all (passive aggressive style).
Our communication skills are developed based upon our education, attitudes, and preconceived
notions. The good news is that communication styles can be changed with effort and the right attitude.
No matter your style, effective communication always includes positive feedback. Constructive
comments help those you are speaking with to feel good about themselves, to feel more comfortable
and confident trying new things, to grow, to be heard and to be taken seriously. Critical and
judgmental comments will inhibit growth and learning. For example:
Critical/Negative Feedback
Your voice is way too low. Nobody will hear a word you have to say! Try it again!

Physics Roles in Golf
Physics is in everything around us. It is in us driving a car, walking down the street, and pushing a
child on a swing. Physics is also in every sport you have ever played, or watched someone play. It is
involved in a baseball player swinging his bat, or a swimmer cutting through the water. It is also in
golf. In this paper I will discuss three different ways that physics plays a role in the game of golf. The
first is the motion of hitting the ball, or the swing, the second is the spin of the ball, and the third is the
loft of the driver. Let us start with the basic motion of golf, which is swinging the club and hitting the
ball. The golf swing is an example of angular motion. The twist that golfers have in their swing
produces torque on the club, which changes the angular velocity of the club. The key to getting the
ball to travel such long distances lies in the club head velocity. The faster the club head is going at the
bottom of the swing, the further the ball will travel. This is due to a greater amount of kinetic energy
being transferred from the club head to the ball. In other words, if a golfer can get the right twist down
at the right time, the club will be sped up when it connects with the ball. Most professional golfers can
achieve speeds of around 100 MPH at the bottom of their swing. Who would have thought that there
would be so much science behind what seems to be a simple golf swing? (The Physics of Golf)
Moving on to the second way that physics plays a role

Comparing the Journeys of Hesse s Siddhartha and Gandhi Essay
Siddhartha and Gandhi strove for different goals during their lives. Siddhartha s goal was very
personal, while Gandhi s goal encompassed the world. This was shown by their spiritual development
throughout their journeys. Siddhartha evolved from an inexperienced spiritual being to a man,
returned to spirituality, and ended with nirvana. Gandhi traveled a much straighter path, originally
being a worldly man merely seeking his correct place in life, when his spiritual development
unexpectedly produced a great world leader; in Gandhi s own words, a politician trying to be a saint.
Siddhartha and Gandhi s main goals were always different, but they traveled similar paths at times.
Siddhartha s goal was to find nirvana. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Siddhartha accordingly sought to lose himself, but only succeeded in returning to himself. At this
point, Siddhartha, the self centered thinker, re evaluated his path to nirvana. He came to the conclusion
that all teachings were useless, that he would have to find his own way to the state of higher being. He
expressed this to the Samanas, and to the Illustrious One, Buddha, whose teachings his faithful
shadow, Govinda, accepted. To nobody, O Illustrious One, can you communicate in words and
teachings what happened to you in your hour of enlightenment (Hesse 34). At this point, Siddhartha
rejected all doctrines and teachings, believing experience to be the only true teacher, and set off on his
quest again.
Free of all thought and all connections but of those to himself, Siddhartha crossed a river, and entered
the town. Here was where Siddhartha gained the experience he had never before had. He believed
himself to have no teacher of doctrines or wisdom, but Kamala, the courtesan, and Kamaswami, the
merchant, eroded his morals and all the wisdom he had learned from other s lips, as they taught him
how to sin, how to lust for women, wine, possessions, and money. Siddhartha became a man, and
eventually forgot his goal of spiritual nirvana, gradually replacing it with a more common goal;
worldly nirvana, fashioned of wealth and other material pleasures. Despite

George Orwell s Use of Language Techniques to Represent...
George Orwell s Use of Language Techniques to Represent Power in Animal Farm Power corrupts,
but absolute power corrupts absolutely ; and this is eloquently proved in George Orwell s novel
Animal Farm. In this satirical fable, Orwell uses his allegorical farm to candidly illustrate the
corruptive nature of power and to symbolise the communist system in the microcosm of a farmyard
barn. George Orwell was the pen name of Eric Blair, a British political novelist and essayist. He was
also a socialist but he criticized the right (fascists and capitalists) as freely as he criticized the left
(anarchists, socialists, and communists). Orwell used his writings mainly to expose the negative

At first, Animal Farm prospers. The pig leaders, Snowball and Napoleon assume the administration of
the farm and as Snowball tries to teach the animals to read, Napoleon takes a group of young puppies
to educate them in the principles of Animalism. Mr. Jones reappears to take back the farm but the
animals defeat him again. As time passes however, Snowball and Napoleon increasingly quarrel over
the future of the farm and they begin to struggle with each other for power and influence among the
other animals. These disagreements lead up to a vote in order to build Snowball s proposal for a
windmill, which Napoleon was opposed to. Then suddenly, nine enormous dogs the puppies that
Napoleon had taken away to educate burst into the barn and chased Snowball away. Napoleon then
declares himself leader. The initial intentions of the ideals of equality and justice were unsuccessful
and the Animal Farm ended up being a dictatorship of pigs, who were the cleverest, and most idle of
the animals. As years pass, the pigs become more and more like human beings walking upright,
carrying whips, and wearing clothes. Eventually even the seven commandments were reduced a single
principle of Animalism reading, all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.

The Theme of Freedom in The Adventures of Huckleberry...
Freedom is what defines an individual, it bestows upon someone the power to act, speak, or think
without externally imposed restraints. Therefore, enslavement may be defined as anything that
impedes one s ability to express their freedoms. However, complete uncompromised freedom is
virtually impossible to achieve within a society due to the contrasting views of people. Within Mark
Twain s 1885 novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, numerous controversies are prevalent
throughout the novel, primarily over the issue of racism and the general topic of enslavement. The
characters in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn along with their development take an unmistakable,

He like the majority of the Deep South s population was forced to submit to popular religion in the
form of Christianity, being racist and not being able to criticize the institution of slavery, as well as
acting like a proper boy and being civilized with manors, rules, and restrictions. However, he is the
polar opposite of the ideals expressed by his society. Huck is forced to reside with Widow Douglas, he
describes the experience in the first chapter, She took me... allowed she would sivilize me; but it was
rough living in the house all the time ... I wanted to smoke, and asked the widow to let me. But she
wouldn t. She said... I must try to not do it any more. (Twain, 2). In this particular environment, Huck
is forcefully civilized by the Widow Douglas as well as Miss Watson. This essentially shows an
indirect form of slavery in which Huck is forced to do as society and his elders dictate regardless of
what he believes in which many of us are also subject to. This enslaves him and leads him to decide
that he needs to relocate himself as far away from society as possible. Therefore, he forges his death
and runs away meeting Jim on the way. This idea of Huck being controlled by society influences him
through the novel, for instance he thinks about turning Jim in because it is wrong to steal since Jim is

Brown Vs. Entertainment Merchants Association
Brown V. Entertainment Merchants Association In the case of Brown V. Entertainment merchants
Associations, the issue raised is that of violent video games being purchased by underage consumers
(Oyez). The legal question at issue is Whether or not the First Amendment prevents a state from
restricting the sale of violent video games to minors. In today s time with the new head turning
technology in video games most of the games have some sort of violence present in them. Many
games past and present incorporate some kind of violence such as, killing with weapons, using
explosives, and crashing cars. With all of the present day technology all activities portrayed during in
game scenarios are becoming more and more realistic. In 2005 the state of California enacted a law to
ban the sale of certain violent games to children without the consent of their parents. The law was
created based upon the idea that with the realistic in game events real behavior could be drastically
effected by the violence. The worries are that tragic events such as massacres could occur based on
ideas seen in games. Incidents such as high school shooting have heightened concerns of potential
connections between violent games and violent actions. The Entertainment Software Association have
fought to overturn the Brown case and similar laws involving the ban of violent video games (Video
Software Dealers Ass n, et al. v. Schwarzenegger). The ESA won all of these previous cases based on

The Characters Between Good And Evil In Dracula By Bram...
The universe is composed of both good and evil beings. The good humans are always nice and
thoughtful of other people. The evil characters, on the other hand, keep on hurting and harming their
fellows. In most cases, people do not like associating with evil characters. These people are avoided,
and they live a lonely life without friends. The reason is that good and evil will always be two parallel
elements that will never meet. In a typical and real world setting, good and evil characters are
determined by their actions. For instance, an evil person could set a trap for luring their closest friend
into danger. Conversely, in the fictional world, evil characters are differentiated from the good ones by
giving them terrifying and monstrous images. The novel Dracula by Bram Stoker is one book that uses
vampires to portray evil. Some people find pleasure in doing good while others find joy in doing evil
to others. But everyone is entitled to choosing their paths and personalities. The question is, between
good and evil, what is the noblest thing to emulate? The Dracula novel gives a series of events that
answers the question. Evil will never surpass goodness, and neither will the two ever cross lines;
instead, goodness will always win the battle. Dracula being the main character in the novel, everything
revolves around him. He has a lot of power and recruited followers. Since he is a vampire, he never
dies, and he lives sucking the blood of the living. Jonathan Hankers sets

Concentric Circle Castles
In 1066, there was a new way of construction due to the arrival of the Normans. The Normans brought
the Motte and Bailey Castles and the Concentric Circle Castles to Europe. Castles were used by
royalty to have secure protection from attacks. Castles would be expensive and take a long time to
build, making it only available to the rich and powerful. The first castles that were built during the
arrival of the Normans were the Motte and Bailey Castles, which then progressed into the Concentric
Circle Castles. Motte and Bailey Castles were the first castles brought by the Normans in 1066. They
were wooden and kept on an an artificial mound called a motte (Johnson). The castle would be
surrounded by an enclosed courtyard called a bailey. The whole area would be surrounded by a ditch
and palisade for extra protection (Johnson). The mote would be used as a final fighting destination
when the castle itself had been breached. Many of the Motte and Bailey Castles were built on river
crossings and crossroads because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The people needed stronger, more durable castles so they would be protected. The Concentric Circle
Castles were much superior to the Motte and Bailey Castles. The Motte and Bailey Castles were made
out of wood, which made it effortless to burn down. Concentric Circle Castles were made out of stone,
so it was not as easy to burn it. Concentric Circle Castles could last in rainy weather, which Motte and
Bailey Castles could not. Concentric Circle Castles were a lot taller and bigger, and had more security.
One of the features of the castle was the ability to attack from the inside. This made it easier to handle
attacks. Since methods of attacking castles improved as time went on, this was a major necessity when
building a castle. The Motte and Bailey Castles turned into Concentric Circle Castles, which was
helpful to the Lords and

The Dark Knight And Inception
There are many successful directors who have produced at least one blockbuster film that is critically
acclaimed, and Christopher Nolan has been able to do this several times. Christopher Nolan began
directing movies in 1998 and has directed fourteen movies since 1998. The film critic Alissa
Wilkinson notes in her article The films of Christopher Nolan, explained, Nolan has shown himself to
be interested in both entertaining audiences and making them think, in pushing the boundaries of what
they believe a movie can and should be . Christopher Nolan also often deals with the subjects of time,
memory, and life philosophies that drive movies and characters. Two of Nolan s most prominent films
through his whole career have been the Dark Knight(2008) and Inception(2010). Both of the films
show how Nolan s movies end ambiguously and how each protagonists in his films has an antagonist
with opposite philosophies and beliefs.
Inception is a film that contains a protagonist and antagonists with opposing philosophical views and
beliefs. The movie includes examples of the belief that the world is real conflicting with the belief that
the world is a dream with death as the only way out. For instance in one part of the movie Dom is
argueing with Mal that they are in the real world as they both stand on the window ledge of opposing
buildings. Mal begs Dom to come with her as she says this world is a dream and that the only way to
wake up is by jumping.Dom tries to tell her that they are

The laboratory testings are when the doctor has you under go certain tests The uses of genetics in the
blame of PCOS are difficult to study. There are many reasons why genetics are very complicated to
study. These reasons are listed below. (Thatcher, 44) · Lack of a universally accepted diagnosis of
PCOS · Outward appearance (phenotype) can be vastly different despite similar genetic constitutions
(genotype). · PCOS patients often come from small families with a limited number of sisters and
brothers (sibs) to compare. · We are not sure what PCOS looks like in the male. · There has been no
specific genetic marker for PCOS. · Problems in collection of family histories. Males can pass the
PCOS gene down through there families just as much as a female can pass it on. There are some males
that are more hairy than other males; these males have been shown to carry the PCOS gene. Studies
also show that males that carry the PCOS gene are more likely to have a lowered sperm count. It is
also mentioned that the males of PCOS are insulin resistant. Miscarriages happen more often among
women that have PCOS. Miscarriages happen due to hormonal imbalance but when an altered
hormonal environment makes Chivalier 5 the risk of a miscarriage more likely to occur. PCOS causes
poor egg quality and that is the major reason of pregnancy loss.

Creating High Performance Organizations
Creating High Performance Organizations Introduction Its 7:30 on a July morning, and already a
crowd has gathered for the opening of Trader Joe s newest outpost, in Manhattan s Chelsea
neighborhood. The waiting shoppers chat about their favorite Trader Joe s foods, and a woman in line
launches into a monologue comparing the retailer s West Coast and East Coast locations. Another
customer suggests that the chain will be good for Chelsea, even though the area is already brimming

Table 1 illustrates a model developed by The Institute for Corporate Productivity and is titled The Five
Domains of High Performance * Strategy An organization s human capital must be aligned to the
business strategy so that every employee is focused on the same goal. * Leadership Leaders must
communicate performance expectations, develop and promote the right people and convince
employees that their behaviors are critical to success. * Talent HR strategy must be developed around
the business model to ensure that the proper human capital components are put in place to drive
business value. * Culture The values and beliefs at all levels and in all departments must be aligned,
and existing and future leaders should be role models for this culture. * Market Every employee in the
organization should understand the marketplace and customers and should know how his or her job
impacts business results. Table 1 Trader Joe s is an exemplary example of putting this model in to
action. They build their organization by first investing in their workforce. They first begin by seeking

by quoting from his writings. Luther would be placed at the lower left, as his attitude to political
authority is Christ against culture , and especially Rejectionist (A), whereas his attitude to political
violence is Realism (10) Luther s attitude to political authority is quite similar to Augustine s one,
which stated that all authority is derived from God (p.168). He also mentioned, They (as humans)
should obey God s commands, not because they appear just, but simply because they are God s
commands (p.162). He also indicated that God is omnipotent, omniscient and transcendent outside

Ever since I was young, I remember being completely fascinated with science, and specifically
biology. Middle school was when I realized how fascinated I am by animals, their behavior, and their
welfare. I began to notice the overpopulation issue of strays and the overfill in local shelters. It opened
my eyes to what seemed like a different aspect of the world. There are so many social issues that
people are focused on, and some people have started to ignore other living creatures. This has struck
me. As I ve been getting older, I feel, more and more, like I can make a difference, at least in my

I was surprised when I found out that people live along side of such a beautiful canyon like this. It is
said that still to this day you can see signatures of past residence that lived here on rocks and cabins.
Although many don t remain settled there today, they still make routine deliveries to forest service
locations. It is amazing that a mail delivery system dating back to the 1920 s still continues today. The
most amazing part of this film is seeing how settlers lived in such a remote place on earth. No
electricity, no running water etc. Many citizens came to the United States because of the industrial
revolution. This reminds me of when we talked about the citizens came over seas in hopes of a better
life and getting a job. These citizens all lived in Miami and created their own community much like
Hells Canyon. While I was watching this film I just could not understand on why many settlers chose
to live here. Setting in the Hells Canyon is the complete opposite of the industrial revolution. We
talked about in class, people often are not choosing where to live but actually forced to live where they
do. I think the example of the Hells Canyon is the opposite. Many settlers have actually moved and

Family Dynamic The dynamics of a family should be how the members of the family get along,
meaning how they relate to one another interpersonally. Try trust, loyalty, consideration, acceptance,
companionship, dedication, understanding, are a few things I can think of that are good characteristics

Savage are brother and sister in the movie savages. Wendy lives in New York City, and John lives in

It helps create trust thus making the family bond stronger. Misunderstandings tend to occur when there
is no communication leading to greater conflict in the future. The Savage family seem to never
communicate within the family leading to multiple conclusion. Wendy mentions Maybe Dad didn t
abandon us. Maybe he just forgot who we were . Wendy is optimistic to where it is borderline
unrealistic whereas john has a more realistic point of outlook to situations. We re not in therapy now,
we re in real life , John states. This not only affects their childhood but it has a huge impact in their
adulthood. Having an unstable family background often leads to having trust issues resulting in zero
communication. Communication involves the ability to pay attention to what others are thinking and

The Iroquois Political System
Even though the Iroquois and other Native American tribes had forged alliances with rivaling
European powers they were unable to maintain any leverage economically and militarily during the
Fur trade era. The introduction of the Dutch to North America happened by chance, as they were
attempting to locate a passage to Asia. Henry Hudson, an English sea captain working for the Dutch
came across the island of Manhattan in 1609 and sailed north on a river for 150 miles, later the Dutch
established a trading post along this river called Fort Nassau, later Fort Orange, North America, the

battle with their enemies having superiors numbers over the Iroquois they were still able to defeat

superior organization than any of their enemies. While militarily they formed a great force to reckon
with, it was their political system that made them even more a force in the early years of colonial
history. This system allowed for them to form a unified front against the new European threat that was
arriving in their lands. The Fur trade in North America began with the earliest contacts between the
Iroquois and Europeans. Within a few years the Iroquois and the Dutch and others were bartering their
goods with each other throughout the Mohawk Valley. In Europe there was a market for the furs and

Digital Convergence Impact On The Film Industry
Media changes drastically over short periods of time because of digital convergence. Just in the past
decades it has become much more advanced and useful for people all around the world. There has
been an extreme advance in media technology, especially that used in film industry. This includes the
creation of analog to digital converters, technology convergence, and the changes in the media
industry and audiences. In this article, I will analysis how digital convergence impact on the film
industry structure, forms of consumption with the innovation of revenue models and cultural
production.
Industry Structure
In the digital era of convergent media, the most obvious about the change of cinema is the storage
which rely on celluloid that you can touch in the past. Now, however, it is stored as electronic packets
of 1s and 0s which is virtual. The changes of the cinema is not only about the film storage, but also the
production, post production, exhibition and distribution which is the main part of the film industry
structure. In the era of celluloid, the four steps of movie is relatively independent and has its sequence.
In digital movie, whereas, the connection and integration among four parts of industry structure are
ever close.

The Struggle Of Slavery In Douglass, By J. Jacobs
Prior to the publication of any slave narrative, African Americans had been represented by early
historians interpretations of their race, culture, and situation along with contemporary authors
fictionalized depictions. Their persona was often characterized as infantile, incompetent,
and...incapable of achievement (Hunter Willis 11) while the actions of slaveholders were justified with
the arguments that slavery would maintain a cheap labor force and a guarantee that their suffering did
not differ to the toils of the rest of the struggling world (Hunter Willis 12). The emergence of the slave
narratives created a new voice that discredited all former allegations of inferiority and produced a new
perception of resilience and ingenuity. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like Douglass, Jacobs also exposed the harsh treatment towards slaves while proving that American
blacks could succeed at the same activities as whites (Hunter Willis 26) through her own narrated
experiences. Her resolve to write demonstrated a resistance to the patriarchal system of slavery
(Peterson 158) by sharing the exploits of slavery through her own point of view.
Shielded from the atrocities of slavery during her childhood, Jacobs depicts family life among slaves
as one that remains intact in a comfortable home (29) through the example of her own family. Each
member held limited rights along with the ability to work and the privilege to use their earnings as
they pleased. It is not until the death of her mistress where she finally begins to feel the effects of
slavery in the sudden separation of her family who are all distributed among her [mistress s] relatives
(Jacobs 33). The separation of family is one of the most integral subjects of her narrative since
motherhood [plays a great role] in her life (Wolfe 518). Jacobs appeals to the emotions of her female
audiences by contrasting a slave mother s agonies in her separation from her children with the happy
free women (40) whose children remain with her since no hand (40) has the right to take them away.
The separation of families in Douglass s narrative does call for some pity but the event is not as tragic

Quality and safety are directly tied to the purpose of the goal. Many of the tools and application of
principals that have been assimilated in the alarm management project have been part of the
curriculum at WU MSN program course work. Strategies utilizing lean principals, critical thinking,
data analysis, PDCA cycles are a few of the means used to advance this project. Fundamental to the
role as a patient safety leader is the use of advanced safety, quality, and nursing theory that backs
nursing practice regarding prevention of patient harm. Patient safety findings were brought to the
attention of the clinical alarm teams and the applications of the quality and safety principles were part
of the litmus test for any actions steps.
Essential IV
Consequently, building onto the quality and safety principles, is the use of EBP, strongly present in the
platform for every WU nursing course. The WU program focuses on use of evidence in the literature
and the assessment of the evidence. These principles are demonstrated throughout the project with
prominent use of AACN (2013) evidence based practical guidance kit. Consumption of science based
information to impart practices for alarm management was apparent in teams participation in the
literature reviews and the webinars attended. Discussions and making project decisions were based on
the strength of evidence and was a direct result of the course work from the MSN and DNP prepared
participants.

Synthetic Fibers And Its Effects On The Body
2.2.2.2 Elastic fibres
Elastic fibres are 1 µm to 3µm in diameter and are loosely arranged in all directions in the dermis
[90]. These fibres are scattered among the collagen bundles and become thicker in the deeper layers of
the dermis [90]. Elastic fibres, as their name indicates, are extremely elastic and help in the elastic
recoil of the skin and that is the reason why they are more abundant in the dermis of the face, scalp
and the extensible organs, such as tendons and arteries [91, 92].
2.2.2.3 Extrafibrillar matrix
The extrafibrillar matrix includes a ground substance (glycosaminoglycans), dermal fibroblasts,
dendritic cells, mast cells, histiocytes, blood vessels, nerves, and lymphatics [85]. Ground substance is
a gelatinous amorphous substance of sugar and proteins (glycoproteins and proteoglycans) that is
observed between the fibres and between the cells. It provides support to the dermis and has an
extraordinary capacity to store water. Moreover, it facilitates the passage of nutrients, hormones, and
other molecules through the dermis [72, 73].
Fibroblasts, the major cell type of the dermis, produce and maintain most of the ECM proteins.
Indeed, they produce collagen, elastic fibres, and glycosaminoglycan [93]. The dermal fibroblasts are
differentiated from the mesenchymal cells and appear as thin spindle shaped cells. The dermis
includes other types of cell such histiocytes, mast cells and dermal dendritic cells. Histiocytes are star
shaped cells with a small

Ethical Leadership Styles As Tools For Influencing...
The purpose of this paper is to discuss ethical leadership styles as tools for influencing organizational
culture while respecting the diversity of cultures embodied by employees. The variety of leadership
styles are because of the cultural influences, people of different cultures have diverse beliefs and
expectations about what is perceived as effective leadership (Jogulu, 2010). Due to the global
environment were organizations operate, it is necessary to identify leadership models that will work
within the various cultures in the organization. Therefore, the need to analyze different leadership

Perception of use of power, influence, and authority
Authority is generally seen as a special form of power, which refers to the ability to influence
outcomes through force, coercion or persuasion, and through legitimate or non legitimate means.
Power is typically understood as a process or force that helps to integrate society or maintain social
order, especially when there are disagreements or social cleavages that might make it difficult for
people to get along (Howson, 2009). The perception of use of power, influence, and authority varies
by culture. Depending on the culture, individual power is established by making decisions

This change in strategy may finally begin to see a turnaround in Mulberry s fortunes. Investment into
the supply chain to build a more scalable business and new factory in place which will be expanded
the UK production capacity by 50% should fit with a lower price, higher volume business. This will
recommend Mulberry for a hold for now.
The British luxury goods will cut prices of new products and focus on cheaper bags that made
Mulberry a household name, in a move that will knock pre tax profits by 25% to £14m.
British handbag maker Mulberry said its switch to more affordable prices had sent sales up strongly at
the start of its new fiscal year after its ill fated move upmarket resulted in a 74 percent collapse in full
year profit.

Mulberry has spent the past year sprucing up its ranges and reconnecting with its lower priced roots
after a move to a more exclusive luxury position backfired, prompting a string of profit warnings and
the exit of Chief Executive Bruno Guillon.
First of all, I would be focusing on the management of the under performers
Moving production cost to low cost countries by maintaining competitive production costs as it is a
prerequisite for survival in our markets. I will be working on improving profitability either by
divesting specific units or by changing the company s brand. Relocate production from high cost to
low cost countries.
More efficient product and logistics by having to put a good deal of time and effort into making the
production and logistics more efficient by reducing the number of production platforms, increasing
productivity, reducing inventory levels and increasing delivery

Ajax Vs Greek
Compare of Achilles and Ajax Playing a Board Game
Ancient Greek vase painting is rich in content, it mostly about myths and heroic legends, to reflecting
Greece lives very broadly, such as war, hunting, manufacturing, home, entertainment, sports and so
on. The styles of painting vase are very dramatic, humane with rich hospitality feeling to represented
the beauty and elegance, in order to shows the Greeks confident and optimistic spirit. I found
interested on painter Exekias and Leagros Group amphora with the same theme of Achilles and Ajax
playing a board game. Exekias who was called the greatest black figure artist, his black figure
technique is proficiency particularly on curving heroes. Moreover, he painted a scene of Achilles and

As for the Achilles and Ajax playing a board game by painter Leagros Group, it is also a black figure
neck amphora created about ca 510 B.C. from Athens, Greece. the height is 30.4 centimeters and
rather than a wine jar, it was used as a storage jar. (Attic Black Figure Neck Amphora) In term of the
shape of amphora, it is one of the oldest and most common form, which has round black handles and
an echinus foot, the shape is like an upside down shallow bowl, the mouth is more wide open, it has a
cylindrical handle, and the area between the neck and the shoulder of amphora, it has a deeper radian
angler. basically, the whole amphora was painted in orange yellow color, excluded the mouth and
handles, which are painted in black. Indeed, it is an evolution of Exekias contribution, each of these
shape has its own pattern of moderate and exquisite change over time. According to the Understanding
Greek Vases, the aesthetic of Greek vase painting is more fundamental than interplay and the balance
between the contrasting dark and light areas on a vase, between the black painted areas and orange red
of the unpainted part. (The Understanding Greek Vases) In fact, for this amphora painted by Leagros
Group, the balance of the dark and light area was set by the black concentrated in the picture, and the
picture dominates the vase, which seems like the whole image was enlarge by the image and takes up
the most space on the amphora, because it was painted with double leaved ivy on the neck, and it s
also painted double lotus and palmette pattern on the lower part of body, but it s larger than first
picture, therefore the pattern is perfectly fit to the neck of the amphora. Whereas, this amphora painted
more double lotus and palmette chain in between the lower border and main image, also in the
interface of the neck and shoulder, it has a

Central City Emergency Response Paper
Central City previous mayor took the initial steps to adopt the IMS based operations, which is a good
start. The city is vulnerable to various kinds of routine emergencies that can be handled with
confidence. What Central City needs to prepare for are novelties. The wave of hurricanes that hit the
region this fall should be a wakeup call for the city to be ready for all types of crises. The IMS needs
to be the foundation for Central City emergency response. This will require a lot of hard work and
preparation. It s the mayor s responsibility towards the citizens of this city to have an effective
emergency response system that can handle all scales of emergencies to achieve the best results. IMS
provides a comprehensive systematic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To do so, the mayor needs to lead the efforts to overcome cognitive biases between emergency leaders
and stress the fact that this is a collective learning process that requires group effort, inputs and buy in
from all agencies. This important factor will eliminate redundancy, waste of resources and
interoperability between forces which is crucial to effectiveness. The third step is effectively
managing and sharing resources that are critical to all jurisdictions. Mutual aid arrangements need to
be in place to access facilities, services, and support from other jurisdictions throughout the incident.
A resource management system should be established for describing, inventorying, requesting,
tracking, activating and dispatching resources. This will also help in financial tracking,
reimbursement, and reporting. The fourth step is for the city to employ a unified command to establish
connection between deployed responders. This will enhance collaboration between several functional
teams like police and fire departments and will build consensus between them. The fifth and most
important step of implementing the IMS is to develop an ongoing maintenance plan. The previous
four steps can be reviewed periodically and will always have room for improvement. All levels of city
government; elected and appointed; need to be involved. Other stakeholders like the private sector and

Diversity In Magnet Schools
In 1976, federal courts accepted magnet schools as a method of desegregation (Morgan v. Kerrigan). A
benefit that can assist a community for its impact on diversity. Magnet schools are known for enrolling
children from different cultural background. And also it could make a safer working environment for
the students and also at same time the school could provide well experienced teachers. That can help
the students have a better learning experience. In a way magnet school can score higher test scores
because many magnet schools attract the brightest and best students. For an example, 74th St. Gifted
Magnet (in L.A) scored 90% in math and 91.1% in English. While the other public schools in L.A got
at least a 10% in math and 9% in English. As you can see that magnet schools have higher test scores
than other schools (public) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Bottom Of The Spiral
the bottom of the spiral. It was just a cool system that I had never thought of. I also got to try a passion
fruit while I was there. I had never even heard of them before. It was so good, and tasted like a bunch
of tropical flavors mixed together. Best of all. It was grown in that garden. As a group we helped
Emilia with a couple projects in the garden. I helped make a path out of rocks. It ended up looking
really good. It was really beneficial to see a garden put together by college students, as it makes
sustainable practices seem more feasible.
Week #10 (11/3) Flying Fish Farm:
This farm was very interesting to me. The aquaponics were super cool, as that is always something I
have been interested in. A teacher I had in high school experimented with aquaponics, but it was on a
much smaller scale. Her system was not as successful though, as she struggled with some diseases.
The owner of Flying Fish seemed much more successful. This is super cool to see new processes
working for people. Another unique aspect of his farm was that he did a lot of seedlings. That way he
could sell the plants as a product. He said he sold his plants to places like Earth Fare, which is very
cool. Another unique thing was the popcorn that he grew. I have never had popcorn right from the cob,
and I would like to try it sometime after hearing the owner talk about it. A new thing that the owner
was trying was chickens. He was talking a lot about growing his own feed for them to make the
feedback loop

Golden Retrievers Speech Analysis
I chose to write my informative speech about Golden Retrievers and my purpose of this speech was to
give the class more information about the dog breed Golden Retrievers. In this self evaluation I will be
evaluating two of my strengths and two of my weaknesses to better improve by public speaking skills.
My two strengths would include using and citing multiple sources and having effective transitions. My
two weaknesses would include inadequate direct eye contact and having a weak introduction. First, I
will start with the aspects that I have exceled at during my informative speech. The first strength
would be the use of my sources and how I included them and cited them in the presentation. Overall I
found 6 great sources which helped be better ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the transitions I made sure to take a step back and a step forward. I did this by reviewing what
I had just talked about and I then introduced the information that I was about to cover. Another
considerable aspect of the transitions was that I used a blank slide in between the main topics to that
when I was transitioning people were focused on what I was saying and not what was on the slide
show. Also, there were some difficulties that came about during my speech, one of those difficulties
being inadequate direct eye contact. During the length of the speech there were not many time where I
looked up and talked directly to my classmates. Something I could have done better to improve this
would be to practice even more to ensure that I wouldn t need to look at my notecards and slides as
often. I also could have practiced when to look up and have a successful glance at my audience to
have improved eye contact. Finally, one of the main aspects that could have used improvement would
be the introduction. The attention getter was not as effective as I had hoped it would be. It didn t seem
to grab anybody s attention so the speech was already off to a not so great start. While the main topics
were introduced it could have been done more effectively instead of just listing of the three main
topics. Also the thesis statement could have been more thought out with more information about my

What Are The Pros And Cons Of Genetically Modified Organisms Genetically Modified Organisms Transgenics and Biopharming In today s world, the need for more efficient and better quality foods grows greater. The population on earth is thought to increase to nine billion by the year 2050. To support this population, the application of biotechnology is used to modify foods. The reason why foods are genetically modified is to produce better quality food which can also fight off pests, insects, weeds and diseases. Not only can you insert genes to induce these effects, you can also insert genes to produce medicines which is called biopharming. This then allows farmers to reduce the use of pesticides and herbicides (agric.wa.gov.au). GMOs can help protect the world s food supply and reduce the cost on farmers ... The idea that GMOs can save the world s food supply is a very old idea and only a small amount of professional companies can afford the cost and risk of undergoing genetically modified foods. Very serious risks are associated with transgenics and biopharming yet as the future draws near we look towards it. I personally believe that we should investigate this technology further in order to provide better quality foods, increase production, reduce costs and support human life on earth. Safety protocols do need to be taken seriously in this however, precautions like growing the GM foods in greenhouses, running safety checks and intensive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The renaissance influenced these explorers to find new lands and the reformation also influenced European explorers to spread their religion and try to convert others to Christianity. Some of the most influential and key explores in this time period where Christopher Columbus, Henry Hudson and Hernan Cortes. Christopher Columbus was the one of the most influential explorers in the Age of Exploration. He was the first European to explore the Americas. Columbus set off on his journey south from Palos Spain with 3 ships. He believed that he would reach the edge of Japan in 10 days if he sailed west to uncharted territory. Instead of being on the water for 10 days, he was on the water for about 30 days and he found the americas. He landed in the bahamas and then claimed it for Spain. Christopher Columbus should be viewed as a villain in history because he killed millions of the native Americans with disease and overworking them. He captured thousands of natives and made them into slaves. He also set in motion the Africans being put in the slavery. Even though he discovered the Americas he murdered many lives. Companionship Quotes In Frankenstein According to the Oxford University Press, companionship is defined as, friendship, fellowship, closeness, togetherness, amity, intimacy, rapport, camaraderie, brotherhood, sisterhood; company, society, social contact. All these words form the idea of two people spending their time and life together. The idea of companionship is a necessity in life, because all different types of people and creations rely on the company of others. Property prices tend to increase as time goes by, this is positive equity as the owners are better off. Dwellings have a high income elasticity of demand, so if the level of income increases demand for property will also increase. Also, when people s income increases they are more likely to buy properties than rent, also increasing average prices. There has been an overall increase in house prices because 20 years ago average income was £19,774, peaking to 24,683 in 2008, then decreasing to £22,524 in 2014 (source: rate inflation). Social trends can also affect house prices, recently a trend has emerged for later marriages, the mean age for marriage has increased by 8 years for men and women since 1972 (source: ONS). This has led to an increase in demand for smaller dwellings such as apartments, causing the prices of these forms of residence to rise. The Bank of England can change the base rate of interest; this will be passed on by banks to the general public, increasing the amount paid on variable rate mortgages. Identifying Communication Styles As A Training Professional Identifying Communication Styles As a training professional, you need to be able to differentiate effective and ineffective communication styles, and understand that their style of communication may often conflict with the way messages are interpreted. By understanding different communication styles, we can help our students begin to understand how to separate the message from the communication style of the person with whom they are communicating and to appropriately respond to the content of the message. Examples would be a supervisor saying to a subordinate in loud and angry tone of voice ...can t you do anything right? (aggressive style) or a shop clerk rolling her eyes back as she tells the customer rummaging through her purse take your time, I m not busy at all (passive aggressive style). Our communication skills are developed based upon our education, attitudes, and preconceived notions. The good news is that communication styles can be changed with effort and the right attitude. No matter your style, effective communication always includes positive feedback. Constructive comments help those you are speaking with to feel good about themselves, to feel more comfortable and confident trying new things, to grow, to be heard and to be taken seriously. Critical and judgmental comments will inhibit growth and learning. For example: Critical/Negative Feedback Your voice is way too low. Nobody will hear a word you have to say! Try it again! • 12. Physics Roles in Golf Physics is in everything around us. It is in us driving a car, walking down the street, and pushing a child on a swing. Physics is also in every sport you have ever played, or watched someone play. It is involved in a baseball player swinging his bat, or a swimmer cutting through the water. It is also in golf. In this paper I will discuss three different ways that physics plays a role in the game of golf. The first is the motion of hitting the ball, or the swing, the second is the spin of the ball, and the third is the loft of the driver. Let us start with the basic motion of golf, which is swinging the club and hitting the ball. The golf swing is an example of angular motion. The twist that golfers have in their swing produces torque on the club, which changes the angular velocity of the club. The key to getting the ball to travel such long distances lies in the club head velocity. The faster the club head is going at the bottom of the swing, the further the ball will travel. This is due to a greater amount of kinetic energy being transferred from the club head to the ball. In other words, if a golfer can get the right twist down at the right time, the club will be sped up when it connects with the ball. Most professional golfers can achieve speeds of around 100 MPH at the bottom of their swing. Who would have thought that there would be so much science behind what seems to be a simple golf swing? (The Physics of Golf) Moving on to the second way that physics plays a role ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Siddhartha s goal was very personal, while Gandhi s goal encompassed the world. This was shown by their spiritual development throughout their journeys. Siddhartha evolved from an inexperienced spiritual being to a man, returned to spirituality, and ended with nirvana. Gandhi traveled a much straighter path, originally being a worldly man merely seeking his correct place in life, when his spiritual development unexpectedly produced a great world leader; in Gandhi s own words, a politician trying to be a saint. Siddhartha accordingly sought to lose himself, but only succeeded in returning to himself. At this point, Siddhartha, the self centered thinker, re evaluated his path to nirvana. He came to the conclusion that all teachings were useless, that he would have to find his own way to the state of higher being. He expressed this to the Samanas, and to the Illustrious One, Buddha, whose teachings his faithful shadow, Govinda, accepted. To nobody, O Illustrious One, can you communicate in words and teachings what happened to you in your hour of enlightenment (Hesse 34). At this point, Siddhartha rejected all doctrines and teachings, believing experience to be the only true teacher, and set off on his quest again. Free of all thought and all connections but of those to himself, Siddhartha crossed a river, and entered the town. Here was where Siddhartha gained the experience he had never before had. He believed himself to have no teacher of doctrines or wisdom, but Kamala, the courtesan, and Kamaswami, the merchant, eroded his morals and all the wisdom he had learned from other s lips, as they taught him how to sin, how to lust for women, wine, possessions, and money. Siddhartha became a man, and eventually forgot his goal of spiritual nirvana, gradually replacing it with a more common goal; worldly nirvana, fashioned of wealth and other material pleasures. In this satirical fable, Orwell uses his allegorical farm to candidly illustrate the corruptive nature of power and to symbolise the communist system in the microcosm of a farmyard barn. George Orwell was the pen name of Eric Blair, a British political novelist and essayist. The evil characters, on the other hand, keep on hurting and harming their fellows. In most cases, people do not like associating with evil characters. These people are avoided, and they live a lonely life without friends. The reason is that good and evil will always be two parallel elements that will never meet. In a typical and real world setting, good and evil characters are determined by their actions. For instance, an evil person could set a trap for luring their closest friend into danger. Conversely, in the fictional world, evil characters are differentiated from the good ones by giving them terrifying and monstrous images. The Dark Knight And Inception There are many successful directors who have produced at least one blockbuster film that is critically acclaimed, and Christopher Nolan has been able to do this several times. Christopher Nolan began directing movies in 1998 and has directed fourteen movies since 1998. The film critic Alissa Wilkinson notes in her article The films of Christopher Nolan, explained, Nolan has shown himself to be interested in both entertaining audiences and making them think, in pushing the boundaries of what they believe a movie can and should be . Christopher Nolan also often deals with the subjects of time, memory, and life philosophies that drive movies and characters. Two of Nolan s most prominent films through his whole career have been the Dark Knight(2008) and Inception(2010). Both of the films show how Nolan s movies end ambiguously and how each protagonists in his films has an antagonist with opposite philosophies and beliefs. Inception is a film that contains a protagonist and antagonists with opposing philosophical views and beliefs. The movie includes examples of the belief that the world is real conflicting with the belief that the world is a dream with death as the only way out. These fibres are scattered among the collagen bundles and become thicker in the deeper layers of the dermis [90]. Elastic fibres, as their name indicates, are extremely elastic and help in the elastic recoil of the skin and that is the reason why they are more abundant in the dermis of the face, scalp and the extensible organs, such as tendons and arteries [91, 92]. 2.2.2.3 Extrafibrillar matrix The extrafibrillar matrix includes a ground substance (glycosaminoglycans), dermal fibroblasts, dendritic cells, mast cells, histiocytes, blood vessels, nerves, and lymphatics [85]. (Attic Black Figure Neck Amphora) In term of the shape of amphora, it is one of the oldest and most common form, which has round black handles and an echinus foot, the shape is like an upside down shallow bowl, the mouth is more wide open, it has a cylindrical handle, and the area between the neck and the shoulder of amphora, it has a deeper radian angler. basically, the whole amphora was painted in orange yellow color, excluded the mouth and handles, which are painted in black. Indeed, it is an evolution of Exekias contribution, each of these shape has its own pattern of moderate and exquisite change over time. According to the Understanding Greek Vases, the aesthetic of Greek vase painting is more fundamental than interplay and the balance between the contrasting dark and light areas on a vase, between the black painted areas and orange red of the unpainted part. (The Understanding Greek Vases) In fact, for this amphora painted by Leagros Group, the balance of the dark and light area was set by the black concentrated in the picture, and the picture dominates the vase, which seems like the whole image was enlarge by the image and takes up the most space on the amphora, because it was painted with double leaved ivy on the neck, and it s also painted double lotus and palmette pattern on the lower part of body, but it s larger than first picture, therefore the pattern is perfectly fit to the neck of the amphora. Whereas, this amphora painted more double lotus and palmette chain in between the lower border and main image, also in the interface of the neck and shoulder, it has a ... The wave of hurricanes that hit the region this fall should be a wakeup call for the city to be ready for all types of crises. The IMS needs to be the foundation for Central City emergency response. To do so, the mayor needs to lead the efforts to overcome cognitive biases between emergency leaders and stress the fact that this is a collective learning process that requires group effort, inputs and buy in from all agencies. This important factor will eliminate redundancy, waste of resources and interoperability between forces which is crucial to effectiveness. The third step is effectively managing and sharing resources that are critical to all jurisdictions. Mutual aid arrangements need to be in place to access facilities, services, and support from other jurisdictions throughout the incident. A resource management system should be established for describing, inventorying, requesting, tracking, activating and dispatching resources. This will also help in financial tracking, reimbursement, and reporting. The fourth step is for the city to employ a unified command to establish connection between deployed responders. This will enhance collaboration between several functional teams like police and fire departments and will build consensus between them. The fifth and most important step of implementing the IMS is to develop an ongoing maintenance plan. The previous four steps can be reviewed periodically and will always have room for improvement. I had never even heard of them before. It was so good, and tasted like a bunch of tropical flavors mixed together. Best of all. It was grown in that garden. As a group we helped Emilia with a couple projects in the garden. I helped make a path out of rocks. It ended up looking really good. It was really beneficial to see a garden put together by college students, as it makes sustainable practices seem more feasible. Week #10 (11/3) Flying Fish Farm: This farm was very interesting to me. The aquaponics were super cool, as that is always something I have been interested in. A teacher I had in high school experimented with aquaponics, but it was on a much smaller scale. Her system was not as successful though, as she struggled with some diseases. The owner of Flying Fish seemed much more successful. This is super cool to see new processes working for people. Another unique aspect of his farm was that he did a lot of seedlings. That way he could sell the plants as a product. He said he sold his plants to places like Earth Fare, which is very cool. Another unique thing was the popcorn that he grew. I have never had popcorn right from the cob, and I would like to try it sometime after hearing the owner talk about it. A new thing that the owner was trying was chickens. He was talking a lot about growing his own feed for them to make the feedback loop ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Golden Retrievers Speech Analysis I chose to write my informative speech about Golden Retrievers and my purpose of this speech was to give the class more information about the dog breed Golden Retrievers. In this self evaluation I will be evaluating two of my strengths and two of my weaknesses to better improve by public speaking skills. My two strengths would include using and citing multiple sources and having effective transitions. My two weaknesses would include inadequate direct eye contact and having a weak introduction. First, I will start with the aspects that I have exceled at during my informative speech. The first strength would be the use of my sources and how I included them and cited them in the presentation. Overall I found 6 great sources which helped be better ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the transitions I made sure to take a step back and a step forward. I did this by reviewing what I had just talked about and I then introduced the information that I was about to cover. Another considerable aspect of the transitions was that I used a blank slide in between the main topics to that when I was transitioning people were focused on what I was saying and not what was on the slide show. Also, there were some difficulties that came about during my speech, one of those difficulties being inadequate direct eye contact. During the length of the speech there were not many time where I looked up and talked directly to my classmates. Something I could have done better to improve this would be to practice even more to ensure that I wouldn t need to look at my notecards and slides as often. I also could have practiced when to look up and have a successful glance at my audience to have improved eye contact. Finally, one of the main aspects that could have used improvement would be the introduction. The attention getter was not as effective as I had hoped it would be. It didn t seem to grab anybody s attention so the speech was already off to a not so great start. While the main topics were introduced it could have been done more effectively instead of just listing of the three main topics. Also the thesis statement could have been more thought out with more information about my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
