Comparison Of Football Vs. Soccer
The football versus soccer fight rages on for years now and has sparked quite some controversy. Let s
start by saying that I will call football, as it is known around the world, soccer. What is often classified
as American Football for this essay will be called football. Some of the controversies that have been
sparked between the two are ones such as; why is it called football when its only one player on the
team is allowed to use his feet and is only done on small occasions? , which is more physical? and
issues as simple as which of the two requires more endurance. Most people may look at it one way
when there is also another way to view these two legendary sports as I call them. As there may be
differences between the two, there are also similarities. There are a lot of debates that goes on regards
with football and soccer. Some consider that soccer is another name of football while others may
argue that soccer is entirely different from football. In this paper a compare and contrast the two
famous games, football and soccer will set us on a clearer path.
Football can be considered as the name for all the other sport where the players have to play with foot
and ball in order to score. There are a number of football sports such as association football, gridiron
football, and rugby football. Soccer is a commonly used name of association football. According to

African American Ministry Research Paper
These are the issue that the modern African American pastor must address currently. His/Her
preaching must speak true, authentic words for the oppressed, the down trodden, the deprived, the
captives, the poor, the rich, the illiterate, as well as to the intellect. Presently, the hostile moment of
worldliness is a belief that life is to be realized at any cost to self. Thus, here lies the Christian
paradox: through the Gospel we have to see Jesus as a truth relevant to humanity s need to rise higher.
The Gospel is to be preached to all. It is a Gospel to save the humanity of African American people
but the gospel is beneficial for all. Therefore, the African American preacher s message must have
within its content something more than that which causes the people to enter in a foot patting, hand
clapping, highly emotional, ecstatic worldly experience, but also a content which serves to balance the
life of God s people on earth.

These systems historically have been fragmented and inadequate causing program ineffectiveness and
personal stress among pastors. The degree to which the African American pastors are effective is
crucial to the health of the church. Pastors with strong support systems based upon sound theology,
spiritual disciplines, management training, insurance systems, and outplacement services, have a
better chance of producing strong effective ministries, as compared to unhealthy leaders producing
unhealthy, ineffective leadership. Not only can ineffective leadership cause by certain types of stress
and stressors produce poor ministries, but it can also produce unhealthy people living unhealthy
doctrines. These issues have a spiritual effect on the pastors. These choices may lead to stress and,

Polytetrafluoroethylene
Polymers have been changing the way we live for over 100 years. Their availability and diverse
qualities ensure that they are always in high demand, and new polymers are always being discovered.
Where does this leave the now commonplace polymers which once were ubiquitous in commerce?
Polymers such as polyoxybenzylmethylenglycolanhydride (Bakelite) and polytetrafluoroethylene
(PTFE) were first synthesised in 1907 and 1938 respectively, making them old by polymer standards.
Although the original polymer applications are now redundant, they have found uses in new areas of
society. This dynamic aspect of polymers is due to their unique structure. Polymers are created from
many small molecules (or monomers) reacting with each other, and arranging ... Show more content

It was discovered in the 60s that a reaction between PTFE and magnesium produced a violent and
exothermic reaction. This occurred because magnesium is a highly reactive metal, which when
burned, gives of an intense, white light. (S.I.F., 2013) In addition, magnesium emits infrared when
burned, making it ideal for military use as a decoy flare. However, magnesium requires an oxidiser a
material that takes electrons from the fuel allowing the reaction to take place. This is why flares are
made of PTFE and magnesium, as it is the fluorine in PTFE that allows the reaction to take place.
Fluorine is a proficient oxidiser, more so than oxygen, as it contains more gaps for valence electrons,
allowing the reaction to obtain a higher temperature of combustion. Figure 6 shows magnesium s
preference for reacting with the fluorine in teflon over oxygen to form MgF2(l), a discovery made in
an experiment undertaken by L.V. de Yong and K.J. Smit in

Montagu And Capulet In William Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Once upon a time there lived in Verona two great families named Montagu and Capulet. They were
both rich, and I suppose they were as sensible, in most things, as other rich people. But in one thing
they were extremely silly. There was an old, old quarrel between the two families, and instead of
making it up like reasonable folks, they made a sort of pet of their quarrel, and would not let it die out.
So that a Montagu wouldn t speak to a Capulet if he met one in the street nor a Capulet to a Montagu
or if they did speak, it was to say rude and unpleasant things, which often ended in a fight. And their
relations and servants were just as foolish, so that street fights and duels and uncomfortablenesses of
that kind were always growing out of the Montagu and Capulet quarrel. Now Lord Capulet, the head
of that family, gave a party a grand supper and a dance and he was so hospitable that he said anyone
might come to it except (of course) the Montagues. But there was a young Montagu named Romeo,
who very much wanted to be there, because Rosaline, the lady he loved, had been asked. This lady had
never been at all kind to him, and he had no reason to love her; but the fact was that he wanted to love
somebody, and as he hadn t seen the right lady, he was obliged to love the wrong one. So to the
Capulet s grand party he came, with his friends Mercutio and Benvolio. Old Capulet welcomed him
and his two friends very kindly and young Romeo moved about among the crowd of courtly

Describe Two Different Types Of Organic And Organic Growth
1. Describe two major ways in which a company can grow. Give examples to illustrate the two ways
of growing. There are two ways of growing a company that is organic and in organic. Organic growth
is when expanding the business by natural way such as making profit and opening branches and hiring
more staff. On the other hand when a business is growing inorganically, is when a company buys
majority shares of another similar company or purchasing the entire company and operates as its own.
Example of an organic growth of a company would be MacDonald fast food chain. This company
started from the scratch and expands its business within the region and expands overseas. They
increase their revenue and invested on purchasing properties and increase their product. A good
example of inorganic company growing is when Nokia and Microsoft merge together for better
customer base and new channels of distribution that resulted in increased growth. ... Show more

Analysis Of David Wilentz s Case
to the story. Attorney general David Wilentz was the prosecutor for the trial. Wilentz suggested to the
court that the ladder that was found on the Lindbergh property came from Mr. Hauptamnn s attic
(Quinlan Quinlan, 2013). He also stated that the telephone number of Condon was found scrawled on
a door frame inside a closet at Hauptmann s home (FBI 2013). According to Wilentz a portion of the
wood that was used to construct the ladder match the planks of wood found in Mr. Hauptmann s home
(Quinlan Quinlan, 2013). Wood expert Arthur Koehler was called upon to examine the wood.
According to his expertise in distinguishing wood, the ladder was constructed by a somewhat skilled
carpenter (Quinlan Quinlan, 2013). Koehler suggested that the ladder contained four different types of
woods (Quinlan Quinlan, 2013). One piece of wood appeared to be floor boarding that appeared to
have two distinctive nail holes (Quinlan Quinlan, 2013). Koehler also examined the floor board for
manufacturing cutting marks. Koehler contacted a total of 1,6600 timber mills across the United ...

Research Paper On Drosophila
Drosophila is an ideal model organism that is largely used for the biological research study for over
the centuries. In history, there is much research relevant to Drosophila contribute to the understanding
of human towards different fundamental biological phenomena. The first published research paper on
Drosophila in 1910, Sex limited inheritance in Drosophila was written by Dr. Thomas Hunt Morgan
who was known as father of Drosophila . The theory of inheritance which was first proposed by
Gregor Mendel was proved in the research paper by investigation on mutant fly lines. The research
claimed that the genes are the physical basis of heredity that are present within the chromosomes. This
made a big step forward to the understanding of modern genetics and it give rise to manipulation of ...

Therefore, it is very important to develop the most suitable culture medium for the cultivation of
Drosophila. The food sources of the Drosophila are mainly ripened fruit and vegetables. Drosophila
more prefers to consume the yeasts that grow on and ferment the fruit. Ripened banana pulp is the
most common food source for Drosophila in laboratory. In recent times, the agar like culture medium
is developed to culture the flies. There have variety of recipes and formulas to making the culture
medium. The condition of the medium ought to be suitable for the larva to tunnel into to obtain the
food and for the flies to move on top without sticking on it.
To develop a more suitable culture medium for Drosophila melanogaster, the study is carried out. For
more specific, the research on this topic is attributing to two main objectives. Firstly, the aim is to
investigate the effect of different agar media on the hatching and growth of Drosophila melanogaster.

The Curious Case of Dax Cowart Essay example
The concept of autonomy in the medical practice brings many different views. Autonomy is the ability
individuals have to be self governing. In these different views there exist two schools of thought, one
is the belief that people are born with the ability to do what they want their body and no organization
can tell them what to do with their body, like the government. On the other hand, some people believe
that it is more complicated and conditional on mental competency so that person can make rational
decisions. However, the majority of people seem to advocate for autonomy. A particular largely
uncontroversial discussion arises with the case of Dax Cowart, who had his right to autonomy taken
from him in a tragic accident and is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We came to this decision because we felt that if a few professional psychiatrist can render him
mentally competent than he should be allowed to make his own decisions because it is moral. This is
moral because people should be allowed to do what they want with their body, and as Cowart says it
is, the right to control your own body is a right you re born with... (Cowart 2). However, this is refuted
when that person cannot make rational decisions because that person would be mentally incompetent.
People that are mentally incompetent are incapable of making decisions that are in their best interest.
We also discussed his mother and how all she cared about is for him to receive treatment which we
thought was a bit selfish. This is a typical parental perspective considering that parents do not want to
outlive their children. However, she should have sought out what was best for him and what he was
going to be happy with and not her. As a group we also felt that he should have received better pain
treatment especially since Cowart found out later that they could have done more for his treatment. If
someone is in as much pain as he was and when a doctor is confronted with the request to die, that
doctor should be doing everything he or she can to bring down the pain. My decision was that he
should not receive the treatment because no matter how you look at it you cannot argue with
autonomy as long as that person is competent. However, I

Evil Vs. Good And Evil
Evil vs. Good Which One Shall Gain Control?
Good and evil are a contradiction that works together. What I mean by this
statement is that although good and evil are two very separate things, they could not exist
without each other. Good is anything of which can be morally right. Evil is anything of
profound wickedness. They are very different, aren t they? Now, read a newspaper, listen
to a story, or turn on the news. It is not definite, but you most likely will hear about an
occurrence that caused someone harm. Nowadays, people mostly hear about slashing in
the streets, kidnappings, murders, and so many more gruesome things. These are all
examples of evil. Now, listen some more. In some cases, there are heroes, who protect
people from these tragic events. And, since heroes are doing good, while criminals are
doing bad, they sort of are working together.
I am not at all saying that bad things are really considered something we need in
our lives. For example, wouldn t it be so much better for kids to walk to school not in
fear that because they live in a shady neighborhood, they might get hurt? Or wouldn t we
all be happy if robbers did not exist and we would not have to lock almost everything we
own? Well, we would be happier, but there is very little way to stop evil, even in one
city! There is a population of approximately seven billion people in the world, so even
one city would be insanely difficult to protect. The truth is, there are so

The Difference of Warfare between World War 1 and World War 2
World War Warfare was one of the greatest examples of technological advancement and strategic
challenge, with the introduction of inventions such as the aircraft and the tank the battlefield
transformed from attrition as scene in the early years of the war to decisive by the end of the war.
Naval Warfare
World War 1
While the naval war is usually known for only little attention in histories of World War I, the Royal
Navy s blockade of Germany played a dangerous role in the War. The U.S. Navy linking with the
Royal Navy played a significant role in overcoming the German U boats in the North Atlantic. The
Germany Navy while technically effective disastrously diminished the German war effort. Germany s
building of a High Seas Fleet was one of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Afterwards the Japanese strike on Pearl Harbor, the US joined the clash. With them, they brought
potentially substantial naval resources, along the great Royal Navy. However, the war in the Pacific
relied heavily on US naval attendance which in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor had seen the US fail to
keep a number of battleships. So, naval warfare in WW2 had many innovations. The aircraft carrier
was the most noteworthy and became the most potent naval assets which the Allies gained an
increasing monopoly in. However, submarines were also deadly in Europe and the Pacific against
merchant and supply ships. The human torpedoes of the Italian Malali were possibly the most
innovative, and were also effective enough to influence the Royal Navy to research human torpedoes
themselves.
Air Warfare
World War 1
At the start of World War One bomb aiming was crude in the extreme. The pilot or co pilot if the
aircraft carried two people simply dropped a small bomb over the side of the aircraft in the general
direction of a target. If a bomb dropped anywhere near a target it was through good luck more than
anything else. By the end of the war aircraft that could be recognized as long range bombers had been
developed. Much larger than fighters, and far less maneuverable, their task was very specific to carry
to a target as many bombs as was feasible and to drop them on said target with a degree of accuracy.
The Germans had the

Land and Soil Degradation Assessment
Chapter 3 3.1 Introduction Land and soil degradation assessments have recently become more
fashionable responding to environmental concerns particularly in industrial countries, following the
lead in developing countries that have claimed significant effects of land degradation on their
agricultural production and food security. The underlying causes of degradation have been very often
the basic socio economic structure and institutional structures of developing economies. Among them
are land shortage, inappropriate land tenure arrangements, poverty, and population growth. However,
the diverse factors that contribute to the problem make it necessary that a comprehensive approach is
taken by the authorities responsible for policy in different areas such as food security, forests, soil
conservation, and water resources. 3.2 National contexts, South Africa South Africa is located, as one
might expect, on the southern tip of Africa. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the west, the Indian
Ocean on the south and east. Along its northern border, from west to east, lay Namibia, Botswana, and
Zimbabwe, and to the northeast are Mozambique and Swaziland. Wholly enclosed by South Africa,
and situated in its eastern central plain, is the independent kingdom of Lesotho. The country is divided
into nine provinces namely Limpopo, Gauteng, North West, Free State, Kwazulu Natal, Mpumalanga,
Northern Cape, Eastern Cape, and also Western Cape. Although South Africa s climate varies

Without Kosovo being financially afloat since independence because of isolation, there are very few
opportunities for young people in the country. For the Kosovars who continue to stay in a country with
very little economic opportunity, they cannot afford to leave and more importantly cannot leave
because there is no visa liberalization for Kosovo. According to the prime minister of Kosovo, After
decades of isolation, there will be no longer waiting lines in the embassies, no more refusals. We have
not received a gift, but have deserved the liberalization. (Qafmolla) Since visa liberalization would
allow many Kosovars to live and work in Western Europe without fear of being refused entry, many
youth in the country would be able to work abroad and send money back to their families in Kosovo.
Also, without the visa liberalization of Kosovo, many youth lose the sense that their country is a
member of the global and more importantly a member of a European community because of the
isolation caused by the lack of visa liberalization. This creates a feeling of disillusionment or
disappointment for many of Kosovo s younger people. Since the country is not accepted by the global
community, Disillusionment results from Kosovo s failure to gain greater global recognition as a
member of the international community. (Phillips) Since many people are disappointed with the

The World Of Private Security Essay
In todays world of private security, secrecy is essential. But what about when those secrets are
incidents which breach the confines of the law or human rights. Should they still be kept secrets,
should they be ignored by government regulators and poorly investigated by congressional
committees, or should they be exposed and issued proper sanctions? Since the beginning of the War
on Terror there have been a multitude of incidents involving private security companies which are also
sometimes known as mercenary armies. These incidents, in many cases, have tried to be covered up or
discredited by the companies involved. In some instances, bribes were even involved and exposed but
the companies were still allowed to operate. Many of them even received more contracts from the US
government! Private security companies around the world provide essential services that range from
the protection of VIP s to the installation of security systems to the building of FOB s (Forward
Operating Base), command bases, and even roads. Personally, I like the idea of PSC s (Private
Security Companies) and am even looking to go into the private security industry but my choice
would come after careful consideration and research on the policies and procedures of the company.
That is where the problem today lies, with the policies and procedures of PSC s as well as the lack of
policies and procedures imposed onto them by the government. Overall I believe that these companies
are effective but that

The European Theater Of World War II
In the European theater of World War II, 1942 marked the dominance of the Axis powers. German
forces in the Soviet Union had reached Stalingrad and threatened the oil fields of the Caucasus; Axis
forces in Africa seemed on the verge of pushing the British out of Egypt; and German U boat wolf
packs preyed on Allied shipping with relative impunity [1]. Late in 1942, however, two significant
Allied successes served to turn the tide against the Axis powers. At El Alamein, a British offensive
defeated General Erwin Rommel s Afrika Korps, while almost simultaneously a huge Anglo American
force landed in North Africa to contest Axis control; Operation Torch. The operation marked the first

Both the Axis and Allies saw overseas French forces as the decisive advantage that would allow them
to achieve their differing objectives in the Mediterranean.
In North Africa, General Field Marshal Erwin Rommel and his Afrika Korps, allied with the weak
Italian army, had pushed the British eastward into capturing the Western Desert area of Libya and
Alexandria, Egypt [9]. The British Eighth Army was still a viable force in Egypt, but had been on the
defensive for some time and would not regain the initiative until late 1942, with the British victory at
El Alamein, immediately prior to the Torch landings [9].
Strategic negotiations between U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston
Churchill led to an agreement to send American troops to North Africa in late 1942 to strengthen
British interests in the Mediterranean, and open a second front to take pressure off Russia on the
Eastern Front. In return, the British would further American plans to defeat Hitler in Europe by
supporting a major cross Channel attack [4].
Inception of Operation Torch: In 1942, having been persuaded of the impracticality of launching an
invasion of France as a second front, American commanders agreed to conduct landings in northwest
Africa with the goal of clearing the continent of Axis troops and preparing the way for a future attack
on southern Europe. Intending to land in

Man named Ichabod Crane. It all takes place in 18th century New York, where we see Ichabod the

Sleepy Hollow, New York, from his home state of Connecticut, to be the schoolmaster of the village.
The town of Sleepy Hollow and its inhabitants are said to be under some kind of spell or enchantment,

moves all the desks in Ichabod s class to scare him. Sadly and ironically it works. The irony in this is
that Ichabod is a man of intellect, a school teacher the fact that he actually believes in all of the
supernatural tales that surround Sleepy Hollow would most likely not be seen in the majority of other
schoolmasters. From the very beginning Irving shows the reader that Ichabod has fatal flaw that will
only hurt him as his conflict worsen. Later on Ichabod attends Katrina s party hoping to win her over,
sadly he is disappointed and leaves the party walking back on the dark and eerily quiet path home.
While passing the possibly haunted Major Andre s tree, otherwise known as the Headless Horseman,
Ichabod notices a shadowy figure tracing him. After calling out and receiving no response he begins to
quicken his pace attempting to lose the pursuer. This proves to no avail as the figure takes shape, to
Ichabod s horror. It is the headless horseman. Hoping on Gunpowder, Ichabod s decrepit horse, he
attempts to escape the headless horseman. The problem was that he was not a skilled horse rider and
ultimately as Ichabod looks back, but he sees the Horseman, instead of fading away or turning back,

acknowledges that she does not believe a child who is not baptized is condemned to hell, nor does she
seem to have a lot of respect for sacrament of holy orders. This leads us into a discussion of the
scandal that has rocked the church, the abuse of children by priests covered up by priests. My mom
seems to separate her religion and Catholic priests. She tells me she does not pay attention to priests
when she is at mass because she sees priests as flawed and is distrustful of the Church s refusal to let
priests get married or allow women to become priests. I am very familiar with my mom s view of
priests because my parents often cautioned me not to be taken in by priests or be alone with priests. I
press her on this issue because I have a much more difficult time understanding how I can support
such a flawed institution. However, I do find that I value the family traditions and celebrations that are
such a large part of the milestone sacraments such as baptism, first communion, and weddings. The
Catholic faith brings meaning to our lives at key points in our development and hold us to a certain
standard of behavior that I acknowledge begin with Christian values and traditions.

Hydrogen Peroxide Lab Report
Testing the Effects of Temperature on the Decomposition of Hydrogen Peroxide with the Enzyme
Catalase
Purpose Question and Background Information:
What are the effects of different temperatures on the decomposition of Hydrogen Peroxide with the
Enzyme Catalase. Different enzymes work best at different optimal temperatures, and with this
experiment we hope to discover which temperatures are unideal for Catalase. The substrate is H2O2
which binds to the active site of the enzyme Catalase. The reaction in question is as written below:
Hydrogen Peroxide + Catalase Water + Oxygen
(Catalase is not consumed in the reaction)
This question is important to understand because Catalase plays a vital role in the sustenance of cells

Rhetorical Strategies in Here s Why Suspensions Won t Deter PED Users Like Maria Sharapova
The use of PED (performance enhancing drugs) is always a popular topic especially since the Olympic
game passed by. Author Zach Petersel s article: Here s Why Suspensions Won t Deter PED Users Like
Maria Sharapova claims that punishment for taking PED is incremental, while the benefits are
exponential. After carefully reading the article, I think the article would be great to be printed in the
Shorthorn of the University of Arlington. First of all, Zach made a clear and strong claim. He also
builds his credibility by using one of the most famous cases that happened on the famous athletics to
make the article, and he addresses an issue that lots of the college student will be interest in.
In the article, the author, Zach claims that suspensions will not deter PED users like Maria Sharapova.
Zach reasons that although the highest paid female athlete Sharapova received a suspension of about a
year because of her use of PED, she still owns some sponsorships and aids, and her net worth is about
$125 million a year. Sharapova reputation might be untarnished because of her play to the public.
Zach states that the behaviors like Sharapova s will cause a negative effect to the society and we need
to find a way to solve this problem. The article would be great to many of the readers and highly
recommend it to be published in the Shorthorn because first of all, this article is coherent

Anglo Saxon society was decidedly patriarchal, but women were in some ways better off than they
would be in later times. A woman could own property in her own right. She could and did rule a
kingdom if her husband died. She could not be married without her consent and any personal goods,
including lands that she brought into a marriage remained her own property. If she were injured or
abused in her marriage her relatives were expected to look after her interests (David Ross.) The
women were responsible for grounding of grains, baking of bread, brewing of beer, making of butter
and cheese. During this era it was dangerous to travel; thus, most people would travel only if it was
unavoidable. If possible they would travel by water along the coast or along the river. During the early
Anglo Saxon period England was a very different place from what it is today. The human population
was very small. They grew their own food and made their own clothes... The lord and kin had the
strongest ties in the Anglo Saxon society. The ties of loyalty were to the person of a lord. There was no
real concept of patriotism or loyalty to a cause. Kings could not, except in exceptional circumstances,
make new laws. Their role instead was to uphold and clarify previous custom. The first act of a
conquering king was often to assure his subjects that he would uphold their ancient privileges, laws,
and customs (David Ross.) One of the most famous kings during the

I was born with multiple birth defects, including a cleft palate. These defects required me to need
several surgeries throughout my childhood. This experience introduced me to the medical field early
on and started my passion for pursuing a career in the discipline. I came to University of South Florida
as a pre nursing student in the hopes of making in to the nursing program. I plan to apply to nursing

Anesthetist, Pediatric Registered Nurse, or a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
My previous experience in the hospital setting showed me many different career options within the
field, and one that always stuck out was CRNAs. They were always the ones to make me feel
comfortable and safe as they put me to sleep before a surgery, making them one of my favorite
individuals in the surgical room. I want to be a CRNA so I can be that person for children going
through the same thing that I went through. Additionally, I enjoy science and have always excelled in
the subject, so I am extremely fascinated in the science behind anesthesia. The idea of putting
someone to sleep to make surgery tolerable and painless interests me.

The Influence Of Culture In Dante s Inferno
Scottish philosopher Thomas Carlyle (1795 1881) once said, Culture is the process by which a person
becomes all that they were created capable of being (BrainyQuote 2017). Over the length of one s
journey, they may discover more of their cultural capability. Understanding culture can help people
understand themselves. In Dante Alighieri s epic Inferno, Dante uncovers knowledge of his personal
beliefs, morals, and values. The culture of oneself is important in the development of their own
character. Dante is a sinner who after death will descend into Hell to work off his punishment. While
traveling he meets the great poet Virgil and he becomes Dante s guide into those fiery pits of Lucifer.
Virgil takes Dante to the gates of Hell where the fearful Dante must put all his trust into his master to
keep him safe: His hand on mine: so, trusting to my guide, / I followed him among things disclosed
(Alighieri 3.17 18). Dante takes Virgil s hand as he leads him toward the unknown depths of
Hell.Virgil expects Dante to trust him in which he does. Dante talks of things disclosed which refers to
the unknowingness of what lies before him. He is fearful of the unknown but must trust Virgil to keep
him away from danger. Once Dante and Virgil reach Hell they must cross the river to Minos where all
the unclean souls wait for judgment. When you descend to Hell you are forced to wait in a line to see
the deceased King Minos. There he puts you into the circle where you will start to work

I have known the answer to that question for as long as I can remember. So, when the time came for
me to start really thinking about the rest of my life (i.e. life after high school and adulthood) I had to
think a lot about what makes me happy, and I have continued that journey ever since. My search for
happiness and bettering my life has eventually led me here, to applying for a program that will allow
me to achieve a Bachelor s degree from Antioch University Online.
Throughout my search, I have always known that continuing my education was extremely important
to me. I m a strong believer that education can be attained through everything and that every moment
you take part in can be educating. But I wanted to seek out knowledge, and a Bachelor s degree would
be the best choice for me. Ultimately, every career option I have considered, would be most benefitted

Erving Goffman s Stigma And Social Identity
The main point Erving Goffman made in his article Stigma and Social Identity how different types of
stigma effect people in their daily life. You could be stigmatized in many different ways such as how
you look, if you are handicapped or not, or even if you are from a different ethnicity. Goffman defines
three different primary typologies of stigma and they are: (1) abomination of the body, which means
someone has physical disabilities, (2) Blemishes of individual character, meaning moral failing such
as rapist, sex offender, and (3) tribal stigma, meaning your ethnical background and religion (Pontell,
2016, p. 96 97). Goffman also talks about how the individuals, who are stigmatized by the society, feel

96 97). I personally think that blemishes of individual character and tribal stigma are both useful in
understanding the phenomenon of stigmatization, as both them play a key factor when someone is left
out. But I strongly believe that blemishes in individual character play a huge role when it comes to
stigmatization. I say this because now a days in a society if you are from a different ethnical
background, it would not hold you back in some opportunity and in some places it would but it is not
the same as it used to be back in the days. And as of individual who are handicapped are stigmatized
because we assume that he/she might not be able to do the job and somewhere I think that individuals
who are handicap might think the same for themselves and would be held back from opportunities.
But if you have a blemish in your character, such as if you are labeled as rapist or sex offender, you
are always going to be seen as a bad person. People around you are going to say hateful and mean
things about you and sometime with these labels you will not get a job easily. And the reason is that
the society is going to judge you and assume all the bad things you did, even though it might not have
been that

Essay about Cleaner Alternative Transportation
When people think pollution, most think straight to automobiles producing harmful emissions which
contribute to global warming or climate change. Well, this is true. Motor vehicles account for about
half of the toxic air pollutant emissions in the United States. A large part of these toxic air pollutants is
the need to rely on oil as a fuel source. The fact that oil is still the main source of energy for things
like automobiles, when there are other alternatives like electric vehicles, creates many problems
within our society. The United States dependency on oil causes incidents like the Deepwater Horizon.
The estimated amount of oil released stood at 4.9 million barrels and polluted the area significantly.

Automobiles have since evolved and become almost a necessity for people. While they have become
of major importance, they also hold many drawbacks to our environment. They are the leading cause
of transportation emissions and they generate a majority of America s global warming emissions. Even
though air pollution emissions from motor vehicles have dropped considerably since 1950,
Automobiles still produce about 60% of US transportation emissions and generate nearly 30% of
America s global warming emissions (Car Emissions and Global Warming). The average conventional
automobile can be seen as fairly gas inefficient. Compared to a hybrid electric vehicle, conventional
cars produce about 1.5 times more greenhouse gas emissions and costs more in fuel costs. Within a
100 mile trip, conventional vehicles produce about 87 lb CO2, hybrid electric vehicles produce 57 lb
CO2, plug in hybrid electric vehicles produce 62 lb CO2, and all electric vehicles produce 54 lb CO2
(see table 1). This shows that hybrid and electric cars produce less greenhouse gas emissions and costs
less for fuel, compared to a conventional pure gas powered vehicle.

Violent Video Games Benefits
In 2013, President Obama requested congress to allocate ten million dollars for the research of the
effects violent video games pose towards adolescents. Although many studies exist on the impact of
video games, few have focused on the benefits. News stations are so quick to spread information on
the negative effects that no one has taken into consideration that video games might have positive
effects. I believe that taking a balanced perspective is essential to discovering the truth, especially with
video games. While true that little research has been devoted to the benefits of video games, it is the
opposite for the functions of play. Erikson (1977) thought that children, by simulating different

This is especially true with shooter video games, such as Halo 4 and Grand Theft Auto IV. A 2012
study took naive gamers that rarely or never played shooter games, and randomly assigned them to
play either a shooter game or another type of video game. The gamers playing shooter games showed
faster and more accurate attention allocation, high spatial resolution in visual processing, and
enhanced mental rotation abilities. A meta analysis concluded that these spatial skills improvements
are comparable to formal (high school and university level) courses designed to improve these same
skills. This same meta analysis found that these spatial skills trained can be trained by video games in
a relatively short amount of time and last for an extended period of time. Of course, these skills
transfer to other spatial tasks outside of game. Preliminary research has also shown that these
cognitive advantages manifest in neural processing and efficiency. An fMRI study found that the areas
that control attention allocation were less active during a challenging pattern finding puzzle in gamers
than in non gamers, leading the researchers to believe that shooter game players are more efficient in
attention allocation and more effective at filtering out unneeded information. Cognitive neuroscientists
have begun to send requests to video game companies asking to develope games designed to test
hypotheses and the specific mechanisms that provide different cognitive benefits. In addition to spatial
skills, some scholars believe that videogames are important in developing problem solving skills. This
growth is shown between all genres. The game puzzles range from finding the quickest route from A
to B, to using memorization and analytical skills to learn complicated action sequences. Also, game

Theodore Roosevelt s First Progressive President
Theodore Roosevelt is considered by many to be America s first progressive president due to his
conservationism, his military prowess, and the natural ease with which he handled national and
worldwide politics. He had a vision for the place he wanted America to be, a courage that made him
admirable, and a jovial attitude that made people love him. Not only did he take steps to make the
office of president more important than it once was, he tried to do so in ways that were important. One
of these ways was by protecting the natural beauty of America so that it would not be entirely depleted
before it could replenish itself. Another way was by proving his leadership, his bravery, and his
dedication to complete the task at hand in the military. His struggle for equality in his nation and
international peace also show his determination to make the world better. These points prove that
Theodore Roosevelt had his eyes set on the future and was determined to move toward it.
Conservationism, the preservation and protection of natural resources, is something that Roosevelt
frequently stressed the importance of during his presidency. Roosevelt believed that the government
had a responsibility to take care of the nation s environment, so he worked to create many parks,
agencies, and acts to do so ( The Theodore Roosevelt Administrations. ). The President even said,

goals during the first year of college was to earn a 4.0 GPA. I thought this would be an easy feat as I

Polymers such as polyoxybenzylmethylenglycolanhydride (Bakelite) and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) were first synthesised in 1907 and 1938 respectively, making them old by polymer standards. Although the original polymer applications are now redundant, they have found uses in new areas of society. This dynamic aspect of polymers is due to their unique structure. It was discovered in the 60s that a reaction between PTFE and magnesium produced a violent and exothermic reaction. This occurred because magnesium is a highly reactive metal, which when burned, gives of an intense, white light. (S.I.F., 2013) In addition, magnesium emits infrared when burned, making it ideal for military use as a decoy flare. However, magnesium requires an oxidiser a material that takes electrons from the fuel allowing the reaction to take place. This is why flares are made of PTFE and magnesium, as it is the fluorine in PTFE that allows the reaction to take place. Fluorine is a proficient oxidiser, more so than oxygen, as it contains more gaps for valence electrons, allowing the reaction to obtain a higher temperature of combustion. Figure 6 shows magnesium s preference for reacting with the fluorine in teflon over oxygen to form MgF2(l), a discovery made in an experiment undertaken by L.V. de Yong and K.J. Smit in ... • 5. Montagu And Capulet In William Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet Once upon a time there lived in Verona two great families named Montagu and Capulet. They were both rich, and I suppose they were as sensible, in most things, as other rich people. But in one thing they were extremely silly. There was an old, old quarrel between the two families, and instead of making it up like reasonable folks, they made a sort of pet of their quarrel, and would not let it die out. So that a Montagu wouldn t speak to a Capulet if he met one in the street nor a Capulet to a Montagu or if they did speak, it was to say rude and unpleasant things, which often ended in a fight. And their relations and servants were just as foolish, so that street fights and duels and uncomfortablenesses of that kind were always growing out of the Montagu and Capulet quarrel. Now Lord Capulet, the head of that family, gave a party a grand supper and a dance and he was so hospitable that he said anyone might come to it except (of course) the Montagues. But there was a young Montagu named Romeo, who very much wanted to be there, because Rosaline, the lady he loved, had been asked. This lady had never been at all kind to him, and he had no reason to love her; but the fact was that he wanted to love somebody, and as he hadn t seen the right lady, he was obliged to love the wrong one. So to the Capulet s grand party he came, with his friends Mercutio and Benvolio. Old Capulet welcomed him and his two friends very kindly and young Romeo moved about among the crowd of courtly ... There are two ways of growing a company that is organic and in organic. Organic growth is when expanding the business by natural way such as making profit and opening branches and hiring more staff. On the other hand when a business is growing inorganically, is when a company buys majority shares of another similar company or purchasing the entire company and operates as its own. Example of an organic growth of a company would be MacDonald fast food chain. This company started from the scratch and expands its business within the region and expands overseas. Wilentz suggested to the court that the ladder that was found on the Lindbergh property came from Mr. Hauptamnn s attic (Quinlan Quinlan, 2013). He also stated that the telephone number of Condon was found scrawled on a door frame inside a closet at Hauptmann s home (FBI 2013). According to Wilentz a portion of the wood that was used to construct the ladder match the planks of wood found in Mr. Hauptmann s home (Quinlan Quinlan, 2013). Wood expert Arthur Koehler was called upon to examine the wood. According to his expertise in distinguishing wood, the ladder was constructed by a somewhat skilled carpenter (Quinlan Quinlan, 2013). Koehler suggested that the ladder contained four different types of woods (Quinlan Quinlan, 2013). In these different views there exist two schools of thought, one is the belief that people are born with the ability to do what they want their body and no organization can tell them what to do with their body, like the government. On the other hand, some people believe that it is more complicated and conditional on mental competency so that person can make rational decisions. However, the majority of people seem to advocate for autonomy. A particular largely uncontroversial discussion arises with the case of Dax Cowart, who had his right to autonomy taken from him in a tragic accident and is ... We came to this decision because we felt that if a few professional psychiatrist can render him mentally competent than he should be allowed to make his own decisions because it is moral. However, this is refuted when that person cannot make rational decisions because that person would be mentally incompetent. What I mean by this statement is that although good and evil are two very separate things, they could not exist without each other. Good is anything of which can be morally right. Evil is anything of profound wickedness. They are very different, aren t they? Now, read a newspaper, listen to a story, or turn on the news. It is not definite, but you most likely will hear about an occurrence that caused someone harm. Nowadays, people mostly hear about slashing in the streets, kidnappings, murders, and so many more gruesome things. These are all examples of evil. Now, listen some more. In some cases, there are heroes, who protect people from these tragic events. And, since heroes are doing good, while criminals are doing bad, they sort of are working together. I am not at all saying that bad things are really considered something we need in our lives. For example, wouldn t it be so much better for kids to walk to school not in fear that because they live in a shady neighborhood, they might get hurt? Or wouldn t we all be happy if robbers did not exist and we would not have to lock almost everything we own? Well, we would be happier, but there is very little way to stop evil, even in one city! Naval Warfare World War 1 While the naval war is usually known for only little attention in histories of World War I, the Royal Navy s blockade of Germany played a dangerous role in the War. So, naval warfare in WW2 had many innovations. The aircraft carrier was the most noteworthy and became the most potent naval assets which the Allies gained an increasing monopoly in. However, submarines were also deadly in Europe and the Pacific against merchant and supply ships. The human torpedoes of the Italian Malali were possibly the most innovative, and were also effective enough to influence the Royal Navy to research human torpedoes themselves. Land and Soil Degradation Assessment Chapter 3 3.1 Introduction Land and soil degradation assessments have recently become more fashionable responding to environmental concerns particularly in industrial countries, following the lead in developing countries that have claimed significant effects of land degradation on their agricultural production and food security. The underlying causes of degradation have been very often the basic socio economic structure and institutional structures of developing economies. Among them are land shortage, inappropriate land tenure arrangements, poverty, and population growth. However, the diverse factors that contribute to the problem make it necessary that a comprehensive approach is taken by the authorities responsible for policy in different areas such as food security, forests, soil conservation, and water resources. 3.2 National contexts, South Africa South Africa is located, as one might expect, on the southern tip of Africa. The British Eighth Army was still a viable force in Egypt, but had been on the defensive for some time and would not regain the initiative until late 1942, with the British victory at El Alamein, immediately prior to the Torch landings [9]. Strategic negotiations between U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill led to an agreement to send American troops to North Africa in late 1942 to strengthen British interests in the Mediterranean, and open a second front to take pressure off Russia on the Eastern Front. Over the length of one s journey, they may discover more of their cultural capability. Understanding culture can help people understand themselves. In Dante Alighieri s epic Inferno, Dante uncovers knowledge of his personal beliefs, morals, and values. The culture of oneself is important in the development of their own character. Dante is a sinner who after death will descend into Hell to work off his punishment. While traveling he meets the great poet Virgil and he becomes Dante s guide into those fiery pits of Lucifer. Virgil takes Dante to the gates of Hell where the fearful Dante must put all his trust into his master to keep him safe: His hand on mine: so, trusting to my guide, / I followed him among things disclosed (Alighieri 3.17 18). You could be stigmatized in many different ways such as how you look, if you are handicapped or not, or even if you are from a different ethnicity. Goffman defines three different primary typologies of stigma and they are: (1) abomination of the body, which means someone has physical disabilities, (2) Blemishes of individual character, meaning moral failing such as rapist, sex offender, and (3) tribal stigma, meaning your ethnical background and religion (Pontell, 2016, p. 96 97). I personally think that blemishes of individual character and tribal stigma are both useful in understanding the phenomenon of stigmatization, as both them play a key factor when someone is left out. But I strongly believe that blemishes in individual character play a huge role when it comes to stigmatization. I say this because now a days in a society if you are from a different ethnical background, it would not hold you back in some opportunity and in some places it would but it is not the same as it used to be back in the days. And as of individual who are handicapped are stigmatized because we assume that he/she might not be able to do the job and somewhere I think that individuals who are handicap might think the same for themselves and would be held back from opportunities. But if you have a blemish in your character, such as if you are labeled as rapist or sex offender, you are always going to be seen as a bad person. People around you are going to say hateful and mean things about you and sometime with these labels you will not get a job easily. And the reason is that the society is going to judge you and assume all the bad things you did, even though it might not have been that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Well, this is true. Motor vehicles account for about half of the toxic air pollutant emissions in the United States. The fact that oil is still the main source of energy for things like automobiles, when there are other alternatives like electric vehicles, creates many problems within our society. While they have become of major importance, they also hold many drawbacks to our environment. They are the leading cause of transportation emissions and they generate a majority of America s global warming emissions. Even though air pollution emissions from motor vehicles have dropped considerably since 1950, Automobiles still produce about 60% of US transportation emissions and generate nearly 30% of America s global warming emissions (Car Emissions and Global Warming). The average conventional automobile can be seen as fairly gas inefficient. Compared to a hybrid electric vehicle, conventional cars produce about 1.5 times more greenhouse gas emissions and costs more in fuel costs. The gamers playing shooter games showed faster and more accurate attention allocation, high spatial resolution in visual processing, and enhanced mental rotation abilities. A meta analysis concluded that these spatial skills improvements are comparable to formal (high school and university level) courses designed to improve these same skills. This same meta analysis found that these spatial skills trained can be trained by video games in a relatively short amount of time and last for an extended period of time. Of course, these skills transfer to other spatial tasks outside of game. Preliminary research has also shown that these cognitive advantages manifest in neural processing and efficiency. An fMRI study found that the areas that control attention allocation were less active during a challenging pattern finding puzzle in gamers than in non gamers, leading the researchers to believe that shooter game players are more efficient in attention allocation and more effective at filtering out unneeded information.
