Eksperimente en verslag moet onder die volgende opskrifte

4. Materiaal en metodes / Materials and methods.
Gronde wat gebruik gaan word is die volgende /
Soils that will be used is as follows:
• Grond 1 / Soil 1
• Grond 2 / Soil 2
• Grond 3 / Soil 3
5. pH
• Plaas 20g droë grond in ʼn glasbeker.
• Voeg 50ml gedeïoniseerde water by.
• Roer vir 5 sekondes met ʼn roerstafie.
• Roer na 30 minute en laat staan vir 5 minute.
• Meet die pH in die boliggende vloeistof.
• Rapporteer die resultate as pH(H2O)
• Herhaal bogenoemde stappe met al drie die verskillende gronde.
• Place 20g of dry soil in a glass beaker.
• Add 50ml of deionized water.
• Stir for 5 seconds with a stirring stick.
• Stir after 30 minutes and leave for 5 minutes.
• Measure the pH of the dwelling liquid.
• Report the results as pH (H2O)
• Repeat the above steps with all three different soils.
6. Elektriese geleiding (EG)/ Electrical conductivity (EC)
• Meet die EG van die water van die pH(H2O).
• Bepaal elektriese geleiding van ekstrak in mS.m-1.
• Maal die EG waarde met ʼn faktor van 2.3
• Herhaal bogenoemde stappe met al drie die
verskillende gronde.
• Measure the EC of the pH water (H2O).
• Determine electrical conductivity of extract in
mS.m-1.
• Measure the EC value by a factor of 2.3
• Repeat the above steps with all three different
soils.
7. Resultate / Results
• Gee die pH(H2O) en EG van die drie onderskeie gronde.
• Dui aan wat elk van die pH waardes beteken:
– Bv. pH 5.1 tot 5.5 = sterk suur
– pH 8.5 tot 9.0 = sterk alkalies
• Gee ʼn voorbeeld van ʼn alledaagse stof wat min of meer dieselfde pH
het.
– Bv. Bier = pH 4
– Melk = pH 6.6
– Skottelgoedseep = pH 7-8
• Give the pH (H2O) and EG of the three different soils.
• Indicate what each of the pH values means:
– E.g. pH 5.1 to 5.5 = strong acid
– pH 8.5 to 9.0 = strongly alkaline
• Give an example of an everyday substance that has more or less the
same pH.
– E.g. Beer = pH 4
– Milk = pH 6.6
– Dish soap = pH 7-8
