Genes And Functions Of Proteins
Genes is something every living organism has. Genes are found in the DNA, which is the center for
information that gives instructions for what type of protein the cell is suppose to produce, it s
lifespan, maturity, and function. The gene is a subunit of DNA. It holds the instructions for what
the proteins should be producing. Proteins are molecules that properly instruct the cells structure,
function, and regulations of the body s tissues and organs. Amino acids are what proteins are made
of. They are connected to one another in long chains. There are a variety of different types of amino
acids that can be put together to make a protein. Each different sequence of amino acids tells the
proteins structure and function. Antibodies, enzymes, messengers, structural components, and
transport or storage proteins are different examples of protein function. ( How Do Genes Direct the
Production of Proteins? , April 2015) Majority of genes hold information that is essential to produce
functional proteins. From a geneto a protein the transformation is rigorous and the mechanisms
happen in every single cell. There are two steps for the process of making a DNAgene to a protein
which are transcription and translation. In the process of transcription, the information in a genes
DNA being made into RNA(ribonucleic acid) in the cells nucleus. The kind of RNA that holds
information for making a protein is a mRNA which is thw messenger RNA. It transports
information to nucleus into the

Masculinity In Bonnie And Clyde Film
Aside from Arthur Penn s Bonnie and Clyde film, there was another impactful movie that
became influential during the 1960s as well. The Graduate, directed by Mike Nichols, was a
movie that projected a storyline of secrets and deception. Like Bonnie and Clyde, this was also
released in 1967. Benjamin Braddock, a college graduate, had recently moved back home where his
parents threw him a graduation party. However, viewers come to found out that he starts to have an
affair with Mrs. Robinson, an unsatisfied housewife. Little does she know, Benjamin starts to fall
for her daughter, Elaine. Since this was released during the week of Christmas of 1967, the movie
was also exposed to counterculture as well. Events such as The Civil Rights movement,... Show

Robinson. However, Nichols manages to incorporate the sense of individuality and gender into
one movie. Both, Benjamin and Elaine, are still young and naive. At the same time, they re
trying to figure what their future will hold. While as for the older generation, it shows the
different mindsets between the new and the old. It was a time where values and morals were
called into question. Mrs. Robinson exemplifies what it s like to comprehend and brace the
concept of femininity while still undergoing the values of a patriarchal society. During the
1960s, gender inequality had continually impacted several Americans. However, we re still
struggling in today s society which shows much we ve evolved as a nation. From the film,
Benjamin is having an affair with an older woman which seems to be out of the norm especially
during their time. Through Mr. Robinson, we can see that he is displeased when he finds out
about his wife s affair with a younger man. On the other hand, Mrs. Robinson is also disturbed
and dissatisfied when she finds out Benjamin falls for her daughter, Elaine. From her perspective,
she craves the attention where she failed to receive from her husband. This starts to evoke ideas
into people s heads about values and

The Fourth Amendment And The 4th Amendment
A persons property is often what they take pride in, which makes it easy to see why the saying a
mans home is his castle is so popular and widely understood. So when the gates of their castle get
knocked down and their treasures taken; the king of the castle is left with nothing to hold as his
own. Americans right to be secure is the moat surrounding their castle, it guarantees Americans
protection against unreasonable search and seizure. The right to be secure is guaranteed in the 4th
amendment of the Bill of Rights, which is a section of the U.S. Constitution listing a citizens
guaranteed rights. The U.S. Constitution was written in 1787 but lacked the support required to be
ratified; as it needed support from 9 of the 13 states prior to its ratification. The constitution received
the backing of its 9th state after adding the Bill of Rights to the Constitution. The addition of a Bill
of Rights was required for the support of many states as one of the largest concerns the states had
with the Constitution was that the Government would have too much power and control over
citizens. So the addition of a Bill or Rights stating what the Government may or may not do as well
as guaranteeing the freedoms and rights of citizens helped end the states concerns. The support
after the addition of the Bill of Rights led to the Constitutions ratification on March 4th, 1789. As
stated by the Legal Information Institute; the Fourth Amendment guarantees [t]he right of the
people to be

Comparing Sweat And The Story Of An Hour
Sweat by Zora Neale Hurston (1926) and The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin (1894) at first
glance may seem like wildly dissimilar stories with absolutely nothing in common. The Story of
an Hour, for one thing, was written by an upper class white woman in 1894, while Sweat was
written by a not so prosperous black woman in 1926. The Story of an Houris about a woman named
Mrs. Mallard whose husband has not allowed her to have a lot of freedom because of a heart
condition. When she finds out that her husband has died in a train accident, her friends are worried
that, because of that condition, the news will kill her. However, she has a reaction (privately) that
is entirely unexpected: she feels emancipated. At the end of the story, however, her husband is
found out to not actually have died, and this news, that her husband lived, kills her.... Show more

choosing life with the guilt than life with his abuse. Though they develop it differently, these two
stories have a similar theme, which can be summarized as this: marriage, especially in past years,

much influence does it have on your life more than anything these days. With that being said let s

So you have a clear view of the importance and seriousness of Affluenza. Now we got that out of
the way we re going to jump onto the next topic American President. A lot of people think being the
president is an easy job or you can do whatever you want well that s not true at all in fact as the
president. You have to be a quick thinker and able to take the heat and fault for all your actions
and that is exactly what happened in this movie. American president showed how vital it was to
turn a negative situation into a more positive situation. In politics it is known everyone is looking
to do anything to win and will stop at nothing until it s done so in hindsight, they play dirty and try
to use anything to bash or humiliate the other competition. But none the less it doesn t really faze

Article Analysis Of The North Korean Missile Launch
North Korean Missile Launch
After reading the articles about the North Korean missile launch on August 29th of 2017, Both
news sources portray bias in their own particular ways but Fox news seems to side. Fox states a
quote from Trump talking about all options are on the table due to the fact that North korea just shot
a missile over Japan. He talks about how the world is getting the message from North korea is
threatening. The misle showed that it could reach Guam if it really wanted to. Where the
Washington Post states that Trump and the President of Japan spoke about how they need to put
more pressure on North Korea due to their actions. Due to the test they did it looks aggressive to
Washington, Seoul and Tokyo. The pentagon is doing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The one that used more quotes was the Washington Post which from doing some research is a
democratic source. Which is why I think they used more quotes on what Trump had to say about
the situation to make it seem worse than it really was. Where Fox just got right to the point of what
was going on about the missile launch.
One thing that I noticed that was really strange about both articles were how similar the title and
the start of the articles were to each other. The titles are almost the exact same the word choice is
used a little differently but very similar. As for the start of each article they both start off with
the exact same line with President Trump said Tuesday that all options are on the table . Then
briefly after that get into the main subject of their stories. The washington post provided a
picture of trump right at the top of the article as well as a video of trump talking about the event
and a video of the missile being launched by north korea. Where Fox only provided one video of
just 2 males talking about the event. All of these are very different from each other and both are
setting different tones and giving setting a bias tone in my opinion.
The articles both had very different sources on where they got their information for the article. Fox
news claims that the associated press contributed to the report. Where on the other hand the
Washington Post got there sources

The Mating Intelligence Scale, And The Flirting Style Test...
Personality Portfolio Personality tests offer an opportunity to learn more about psychology and
about oneself. I have just completed the Jung type sorter, the Big five inventory, the mating
intelligence scale, and the flirting style test. I had taken both the Jungian Type Sorter and the
Big Five Inventory previously, but now have a better understanding what my scores mean. The
Mating intelligence and Flirting Styles tests were both novel to me, I enjoyed these two tests
the most, but have doubts about the accuracy of my responses to questions. Jungian Type Sorter
My Jungian type was Extraverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving, or ENFP. Alternatively,
INFP due to a low preference for extraversion over introversion (3% vs 1% respectively). Reading
through the descriptions of both personality types I cannot say that either align terribly well with
my own self judgement. The experience is reminiscent of reading a horoscope; I can easily
identify with about half of the claims made, while a quarter are slightly off the mark, and the
remaining are dead wrong. Considering though that the descriptions must be written to encompass
scorers at both extremes of the scales, this doesn t necessarily indicate a lack of validity in the
model itself. The website lists some famous ENFPs. Assuming their assessments are valid, it is
certainly gratifying to be likened to Mark Twain, a man whose gruff compassion I have always
admired. Buster Keaton, a childhood favorite of mine, is an

Harvey s The Beautiful Bones And Profile A Serial Killer
In the sick minds of those who murder again and again, rape, pain and death are twisted into a
passion to kill. Otherwise known as an ordinary individual, serial killers turn to violence and
death in search of power over others, and to explore their fatal addiction to their immoral thrills.
Even though these horrific crimes of a serial killer repulse most individuals, there is still a
strange fascination when it comes to these deadly killers. I chose the movie The Lovely Bones
to profile a serial killer. In the movie we do not really get a background of Mr. Harvey childhood,
but in the book we find out that Mr. Harvey s mother was a desperate woman who taught Harvey
to shoplift and even rob victims. His father has an abusive personality... Show more content on

integration of higher education in North Carolina. In the summer of 1951, he was admitted to the
University of North Carolina, becoming one of the first African Americanstudents to attend UNC

However, due to his race, the City Council denied him. This had not been the only problem of

the city which we were regularly fighting every day, as it related to blacks in a southern city where
segregation was prevalent. 9 McKissick continued to participate in protests such as the the Journey
of Reconciliation, an early freedom ride challenging segregation in interstate transportation, and
later in the desegregation of UNC Law School.10
In 1939, McKissick sought a degree at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.11 After a year in
Atlanta, McKissick went to work on a tobacco farm in Connecticut. I worked around, during the

Project Proposal ( Option 3 )
Project Proposal (option 3)
Name: Yao Yang UNI: yy2641
The common theme my project will be focuses on is K means clustering.
The k means clustering problem can be described as following:
Given a set of n data points in d dimensional space R^d and an integer k. Find a set of k points
/centers in R^d, such that the mean squared distance from each data point to its nearest centre (one
of the k centers) is minimized.
Paper Summaries:
A local search approximation algorithm for k means clustering (2004)
The paper considered whether there exists a simple and practical approximation algorithm for k
means clustering.
It brings up the classical tradeoff between run time and approximation factor.
A local improvement heuristic based on swapping centers in and out that yields a (9 + Пµ)
approximation algorithm is presented. The paper also shows that any approach based on
performing a fixed number of swaps achieves an approximation factor of at least (9 Пµ) in all
sufficiently high dimensions by providing example.
In summary, the approximation factor is almost tight for algorithms based on methods that perform
fixed number swaps as shown by the paper.
The effectiveness of Lloyd type methods for the k means problem (2006)
This paper show that if the data satisfies a natural condition on separation/clusterability, then a near
optimal clustering result can be expected as various Lloyd style methods would have great
performance in such setting.
The major algorithmic contribution from

The Emotional Speech In The Queen Elizabeth I
Elizabeth I is talking directly to her English troops, nobody but her soldiers, her knights, trustable
men. Her defendants and warriors are there to listen and gain confidence for the battle to come.
As regards to the content of the document is, firstly, clearly a motivational speech to encourage her
soldiers to the battle against the Spanish Armada.
Apart from that, it is very important the way she chooses to do it, because she starts letting the
soldiers know that she is the one to trust and that she is willing to sacrifice herself for the
country if necessary, presenting herself as a Queen and a king. The Queen is aware of her
delicate physical appearance as a woman but she claims her power and courage and a real

The authenticity of the speech is sometimes at doubt by some historians. But there are several
components within the speech mirror the real personality of the Queen herself, such as the strong
mention of God as an ally of England or the reference to her gender as well as her desire to rule as
both King and Queen of England.
In mi opinion, the speech given by the Queen Elizabeth reflects a great personality and strength
as a public speaker, something not easy to achieve. It is thinkable that the speech accomplished
its mission of motivation and that her forces were to the battle proudfull, given the powerful
content of the same. In the text, she gives herself the role of King and Queen at the same time.
Elizabeth I was known as the Virgin Queen for her refusal to marriage in all her life, which could
proved, or at least is what I think, a wish to keep her country safe from Crowns or Kings abroad,
showing us an overprotective queen who cared much for her people as we can see with her own
visit to the troops, taking care of them and trying to help motivating them for the

Rebellion In Dante s Inferno And Henry II
Rebellion has always been a part of the human experience, the past is full of rebellions, and
currently there are numerous books about rebellions and rebels, also, you can turn to any news
station and hear about a rebellion that is happening somewhere in the world. But something that is
not as often thought about is what are the repercussions of those rebellions? Additionally, why
exactly did those individuals rebel? Within the Inferno as well as the chronicle of letters between
Thomas Becket and Henry II it becomes very clear that there are two causes that inspire
individuals to rebel against their authority figures; they rebel because they will do anything in order
to gain things in the present, or, because they believe it is the only way to do the right thing. Within
Dante s Inferno, there are numerous acts of rebelliondescribed. In fact, according... Show more

As it can be seen from both the Inferno and the chronicle of letters between Thomas Becket and
Henry II the main cause of rebellions is trouble with authority, it does not matter whether the
authorities beliefs are considered right or wrong. Consider the rebellion in Ferguson, Missouri after
multiple officer involved shootings happened. The overall cause of these rebellions is the people of
Ferguson s trouble with the decisions those in authority made. In the same way as Thomas Becket,
those in Ferguson are rebelling against something they believe in their hearts to be wrong, and
unjust. By contrast, consider also the terrorist group ISIS, similarly, like the sinners in Inferno, the
members of ISIS rebel against the Syrian government, as well as numerous other governments
(including the United States government and the Iraqi government), in order to get whatever they

can do such thing. Most people view this country as a blessed place to live in including myself,
not knowing such harm leaders in this country have cost to many. People often think of horrible
historical events and judge many not knowing many of those events are repeating in today s life. I

I believe a way to avoid Black White thinking would have been to alter security and awareness.
There could have been smarter decisions. For example why discriminate all, when we clearly
know not every single Japanese was thinking to attack. Why not be more strict in public places
like, transportations sites or crowded public places. Just like when Osama Bin laden was
assassinated the U.S luckily didn t discriminate everyone who was Arabian. IN other words,
think of better solutions before going to extremes. Reliance of authority also played a role. In
this scenario everyone followed ex president Roosevelt s decisions. Reliance of Authority is
when you believe everything someone is saying is accurate and beneficial. In this case
Roosevelt s order was followed by everybody. U.S citizens wanted the Japanese away. Many
people believed this was a great Idea because It was coming from the government. I don t believe
this true. Teachers, priests, or even the government may share ideas that are not agreeable and
should not be followed but questioned. Hasty Moral Judgement played a similar role to Labeling .
Hasty moral judgement can be described as being prejudice. Simply what the United States did.

Realist Fiction As Realistic Fiction
Genre Why:
The novel is classified as Realistic Fiction because the events of the novel could take place in real
life.
Text Evidence:
On page 5, the author provides a detailed, realistic setting told by the protagonist s point of view
That summer, let s see, I m still living under the basement, my own private down under, in the
little room Grim built for me there. Glued up this cheap paneling, right? It sort of buckles away
from the concrete cellar walls, a regular ripple effect, but do I complain about the crummy
paneling, or the rug that smells like old tide? I do not. (Philbrick, 5) The readers can also infer
about the character through their dialect, and in this case, the protagonist seems to be observant of
their surroundings and is mostly likely still in school.
In a family conflict on page 89, it shows conflict seen through the protagonist s eyes. ....this
shouting starts upstairs, Understand, Grim never yells at Gram, not that I can ever remember,
and Gram, well, the worst thing she ever does is cry when she s mad. But somebody else sure is

Emancipation Proclamation Dbq
The Emancipation Proclamation was presidential executive order given by Abraham Lincoln on
January 1, 1963. It changed the Federal legal status of enslaved people in the South from slave
to free. This proclamation ordered all ten states to free slaves. This proclamation excluded areas
not in the rebellion. The reason these areas were excluded is because the proclamation was
issued under the president s authority to suppress rebellion and it was not passed by Congress as
a law. The Southern Confederate supporters were given sixty days to surrender their slaves or
they would face confiscation of their land and slaves. This proclamation did not ban slavery or
grant citizenship to ex slaves. It was intended to cripple the Confederacy.... Show more content on

The Battle of Gettysburg is one of the most important events to occur in the American Civil War.
The Federals were attacked by the Confederates from the left and the right. General Robert E.
Lee learned that the Army of Potomac was on its way and he assembled his army in the
Harrisburg. When he arrived, he found that two Union brigades had arrived the day before. By
July 2nd, the Union Army had strong forces in Culp s Hill and Cemetery Ridge. General Lee
decided to attack the Federals where they already were. It was a devastating defeat for the
Confederates. The Union lost 23,000 men. The Confederate lost 28,000 men. This battle turned
the Civil War in the Union s favor. Major General Ulysses S. Grant and his Army met on the
Mississippi River in the Summer of 1863. They trapped a Confederate Army under the control of
Lt. Gen. John Pemberton. He surrendered to General Grant because he was out numbered two to
one. He surrendered on July 4th. Grant s activities at Vicksburg was considered one of the most
brilliant attacks of the war. This victory led to Grant being promoted to

Children With Asd ( Autism Spectrum Disorder )
Summary:
Parron and colleagues conducted a study where children with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) were
asked to recognise biological motion through the use of PLDs (point light displays). They aimed to
find whether high functioning children with autism showed the same specific problem with
perceiving emotional material in PLDs in comparison to typically developing children. Secondly,
they wanted to explore the degree performance on these tasks and whether it is comparable to high
functioning adults with ASD. The use of PLDs depicted different motions depending on the four
conditions which included, a person s actions, subjective states, emotional condition and everyday
objects. Participants were asked to describe the PLD as accurately as ... Show more content on

Additionally, autistic children seem to have difficulty in recognising bodily gestures and context on
an emotional level, yet seem to compare similarly to typically developing children on recognising
simple actions (Hubert et al, 2007). ASD consists of various mental disorders such as autism,
Asperger s syndrome, and childhood disintegrative disorder (DSM IV). Autism is undeniably a
part of ASD, defined as a triad of impairments, it consists of specific deficits which may be more
susceptible in recognising certain types of motion (Wing and Gould in 1979 as cited in Mitchell
Fenja, 2013). As Parron et al hypothesised to find differences in autistic children, the findings are
more generalised to ASD rather than autism thus reducing the internal validity of the findings.
Gepner and Mestre in 2002 found those with autism showed less postural reactivity in comparison
to those with Asperger s syndrome whom showed increased postural activity (as cited in Greffou et
al, 2011). This suggests, regardless of the subcategories within ASD, there are variations amongst
the specific mental disorders, which affects the internal validity of this study.
The use of PLD is prominent in studies which have undeniably influenced Parron et als research,
particularly when measuring recognition of biological motion (Moore, Hobson Lee, 1997 as cited
in Parron et al,

Tyrosinase Lab Report
Introduction
The purpose of this lab is to utilize an enzyme (catalyst), its associated substrates, inhibitors,
spectrophotometry, and graphs to characterize the activity of the enzyme Tyrosinase and determine
the effect of two inhibitors, Thiourea and Cinnamic Acid, on its enzymatic activity (Ninfa, 2010).
The enzyme Tyrosinase binds with its substrates L DOPA and D DOPA, L 3,4
dihydroxyphenylalanine and D 3,4 dihydroxyphenylalanine respectively, which can form
Dopachrome (oxidation of L DOPA) (Vernier, 2015). The aforementioned inhibitors will be added
to the reaction to analyze the effects of various inhibitors of Tyrosinase. Ultimately, the goal of this
lab is to study enzyme kinetics as they apply to the Lineweaver Burk delineation of ... Show more

The graph is called a Lineweaver Burk plot and it essentially linearizes the Michaelis Menten
equation by fitting it to the linear equation (Figure 3) (University of Arizona, 2006). The
Lineweaver Burk plot allows interpretation of enzyme activity and enzyme inhibition by
observation. It accentuates the changes in Km and Vmax, which is important considering the
effects inhibitors have on enzymes. The graph plots one over initial velocity as the Y axis, and
one over substrate concentration as the X axis (University of Arizona, 2006). As such, the slope
is equivalent to Km over Vmax, the Y intercept is equal to one over Vmax, and the X intercept is
negative one over Km (University of Arizona, 2006). The Linweaver Burk plot can therefore be
used to make inferences about Km and Vmax as the normal functionality of an enzyme is

Unfair and Cruel Treatment During the Great Depression in...
To Kill A Mockingbird depicts the daily occurrences in Maycomb County, an Alabama town in
Southern USA. The story is set in the 1930s, when the people are mostly poor as a result of The
Great Depression. Set in a time before the implementation of racial and sexual equality, the story
provides insight on the mentality of the county people and their discriminative practices, which
are aggravated by their difficult financial situation. Maycomb County is a white peoples town;
the black community live on the outskirts of the town. Racism is so rampant that people do not

This shows how Judge Taylor wants to maintain Tom Robinson s rights. With his every will and
resource, Atticus attempts to provide Tom with the most just form of defence, meriting his
honest and non discriminating behaviour. He does this while he is aware of the opposition and
downgrading he will face. Word of the rape soon spread out, and the people of Maycomb County
are out for justice . Mr Cunningham, a man under the legal aids of Atticus, leads a furious mob
with the intention to lynch Tom Robinson for his alleged crime, without even considering his
innocence. This is does not only indicate the unfairness of the social system because a white man
being accused of the same crime would not face such torment but is also cruel as the idea
involves torture and death. The men never end up lynching Tom, but his nightmares are not over.
As Tom is brought to trial, it is obvious from the start that he has no hopes in winning. Being in
the presence of an all white male jury, it is clear that they have already convicted him purely
because of his race, proving the unfairness of the judicial system. Segregation between the two
races is clearly seen in the courtroom; the black attendees are placed on the court balcony away
from the whites that sit comfortably in the superior courtroom. On the witness stand, Tom Robinson

Additiona Post Impressionism
It is a common theme for groups of artist to revolt against their predecessors and the common
standards that the pervious community of artist held. This is seen repeatedly from the ancient
Greeks, whose bronze and marble sculptures developed around the perfection of the male human

on social change from this point forward made the most significant changes. In 1869, a labor union

to improve working conditions for the working class. The idea was to literally hold the employer s

Adolf Hitler And The Assassination Contributions Of The...
Throughout history there were many plots that took place against Hitler, all of which failed to kill
the Dictator of Germany. The most important assassination attempts were known as Operation
Spark in 1943, and Operation Valkyrie, or known as the July 20th Plot, which took place in 1944.
The importance of these assassination attempts was the people closest to Hitler, who has the
realization that the country was going to be destroyed as long as Hitler was in power. However,
these assassination attempts ended with Hitler sentencing the conspirers to death by the hundreds,
making him more paranoid than ever and forcing him to continue with the losing war effort on the
western and eastern fronts. Although the assassination attempts failed, they were able to play their
part in helping the allies secure victory over the Nazi Regime. Inevitably, the only man that could
end the war, and the only man that could kill Hitler, was Adolf Hitlerhimself. Perhaps the most
well prepared plans of the assassinations of Hitler were due to the work of a high ranking military
officer named Henning von Tresckow. When 1941 came around, Henning von Tresckow found
himself sick with the actions of the SS and the Gestapo in the areas they were operating. With
his military connections, Henning von Tresckow was able to recruit other military officials to
join him in the fight to overthrow Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Regime. The allegiance to the Nazi
Regime began to weaken in early 1943 because of the horrific loss to the Soviet Union in the
battle of Stalingrad. Henning von Tresckow and his collaborators saw this as a window to take
out Hitler, and gain control of Germany putting an end to the war. Operation Spark was planned
to take place at the Army Group Centre, which Henning von Trescknow was the Chief Operations
Officer. Hitler was visiting the headquarters and would stay for dinner before departing back to
Germany. Trescknow and his crew contemplated which method to use in the assassination, but
ultimately decided on a time bomb. The collaborators would sneak the bomb into a case of
Cointreau, which Trescknow would ask for them to take back to Germany to deliver to a friend of
his. As Hitler and his team boarded the plane, the

Describe Artificial Tools
Like organizing our closets we must from time to time clean out our makeup cabinets and make
sure what we have is still working for us. If you want flawless makeup and professional looking
results you must use the correct makeup tools. The right blush brush for example, will make it
possible that your blush gives you a perfect glow rather than a harsh streak or blob. Also, the right
tools are necessary to do the job correctly пїЅ to define and conceal.
ESSENTIAL TOOLS:
Sponge: A sponge makes it possible to get into difficult spots and controls makeup application;
used correctly a sponge will give your foundation an even finish. A sponge is great for touch ups
and is less likely to pull on the skin. Buy them in bulk and change them often.
Brushes: A good blush brush is soft with bristles that are about 1пїЅ inches. DonпїЅt use the small,
hard brushes that come in compacts because it will be difficult to get a nice even finish. An eye
shadow brush should also be soft. Look for a lipstick brush that is retractable. It helps keep the
brush clean and in great shape. A blending brush should be about пїЅ wide and will help blend the
different color eye shadows together to create a natural look. Use a brow brush to keep eyebrows
under control and give them a smooth look. Your powder brush should be large, soft, firm and fluffy.

Power is not something that only very top people want, it is something that everybody wants. At

something or act in a particular way, especially as a faculty or quality. In the movie The Stepford

Aim:
The FACING study is designed to test the hypothesis that cannabis infused in tea will increase
blood ghrelin levels as significantly as fasting does. We will randomise patients to (a) administer
cannabis tea or (b) undergo fasting. The results of this study will lead to future interventions for
patients with weight related conditions.
Research Plan: Participants
Patients will be eligible for the study if they are between 18 to 50 years of age and have no
previous use of cannabis (cannabis naive). Patients will be required to have a diastolic blood
pressure equal to/higher than 90 mmHg or a systolic blood pressure equal to/lower than 140 (Tam

study. The protocol will need to be approved by the institutional review boards and ethic
committees.
Patients will be excluded from the proposed study if they are diabetics as cannabis has the ability
to induce glucose intolerance (Muniyappa et al., 2013). Patients who are younger than 18 years old
will also be excluded from this study since cannabis use can cause deterioration of neurocognitive

A Paper On The Genus Hominins Essay
This is going to be a paper on the genus Hominins. Hominins are early human ancestors the first
being Sahelanthropus Tchadensis and ends with Homo Sapiens. A specie is a group of similar
animals, or plants and in our case homo, paranthropus and australopithecus that can interbreed
between each other and have a direct connection in lineage.A genus is a grouping of alike and
related species that all share in many traits. It is an overview of species that are different enough
to be put in one group but similar to be put under an umbrella term. In this paper it will take about
the later half of the hominin genus, from Homo rudolfensis to Homo sapiens. We will be taking a
look into how they are connected if they are, why I did not connect others and the culture behind it
all.
Homo rudolfensis was found in 1986 by V.P. Alexeev . 2.4 1.8 Million years ago. Rudolfensis
maybe one of the first Homo Species and can maybe be traced back to kenyanthropus platyops.
Many believed at first glance Homo erectus was close to Homo habilis because they shared many
of the same features, were found near each other and dated to around the same time to 2.4 to 1.8
million years ago for habilis 2.3 to 1.5 million years ago for rudolfensis. Both are put under scrutiny
because many believe that due to the case of them having longer faces and bigger molars that they
are from Australopithecus and should be placed with them.Making them an australopithecus would

The researchers included both a hypothesis and research questions. They stated a hypothesis,
however it is a research hypothesis versus a null hypothesis. A research hypothesis explains there is
correlation between two or more variables. A null hypothesis is a classification of hypotheses that
states there is no connection between the independent and dependent variables. Statistical testing is
performed to determine whether the statement is acceptable or not. Whereas the research question
is an analysis statement detailing the variables and population of the specified research study
(Adams, 2015). The hypothesis, the authors were hoping to prove, was whether the use of music
would reduce pain and anxiety in postoperative pain in a particular patient population during a

music would have no effect on postoperative pain in a particular patient population during a defined

several themes that Lupton seeks to unpack throughout his work. He lays the foundation for the
need of charitable reform by providing examples and insight into instances where charitable giving

The Value Rates Policy ( Nirp ) Which Are Been Adopted...
The measure taken to lower interest rates below zero, constitutes the negative interest rates policy
(NIRP) which are been adopted with a price stability objective. In ensuring stability of prices
Central Banks aim for low inflation rates. Despite, the aim for low inflation, the rates need to be
significantly below but also close to 2 percent. The European Central Bank(ECB) influences
inflationby effecting changes on the interest rates. Even so, despite the risk of conflating the
nominal lower bound, not going below the zero percentage mark and with inflation remaining
relatively low the real rates would then not fall further. In consideration of the fact that the euro area
deposit rate was already at the zero percent mark, and the refinancing rate at 0.25 percent, cutting
the refinancing rate will demand a push the deposit rate to negative territory. Therefore, to sustain
the functionality of the money market the ECB had to push the deposit rate to 0.10 per cent to
maintain the corridor after lowering the refinancing rate to 0.15 percent (Benoit). Subsequently, in
January 2016, Bank of Japan (BOJ) adopted a monetary easing policy imposing negative rates
(Kuroda). With Japan looking to encourage more lending and spur high spending to push inflation
the negative interest rateof 0.1 percent was set. In a 2016 progressive report, the International

In order to obtain a better life, some parents raise different than others but the goal is the same.
In Why Asian Mother are superior by Amy Chua, the author explains how she raise her
daughters by not allowing them some things with the purpose of getting the best for them. I
have some similarities in the way of how she treats her daughters but I also share some
differences with her drastic methods. I do believe that Chinese methods are effective; however,
I do not agree with them and also I do not believe they are superior than others. My parents are a
combination of Western and Chinese, which I believe it is the correct way to raise a kid. My
parents always said to me that doing something in excess is not good and now that I m an adult, I
strongly agree with them because life is not just about one thing. As a kid, you needto experiment
new things in order to learn and know about life. As everyone knows, Chinese people are consider

Chinese parents sometimes are too strict with their kids. When they obtain bad scores in
school, they abuse and shame them to the point where their self esteem is very low. As Chua
noted, That s why the solution to substandard performance is always to excoriate, punish and
shame the child (413). By contrast, I do not believe that all the blame should be on child. If a
child is studying hard for a test and he gets a B, the first thing that a parents should do is talk to
the child and try to help him as much as he can. If you punish him and blame everything on your
kid, he is going to be afraid of you and that is going to bring serious issues to him. I do agree that
every parent wants the best for their kids, but sometimes incorrect methods can hurt a child more
than what he or she can actually learn from

The Anti Semitism
Introduction Scientific racism refers to the application of scientific systems and assumptions to
justify racism that can be expressed as either racial subordination or racial dominance. During the
19th century in Europe, there were massive technological and scientific advancements. Science
provided information on the human anatomy, psychology, evolution, and genetics that led to the
formulation of racist views against the Jewsby the philosophers and politicians. In this essay, I will
discuss the reasons why I believe that the anti Semitism racismwithin the nineteen century was
scientifically justified as well as the manner in which this discrimination was implemented on the
Jewish race. Anti Semites perspective on the Jews was a development of a broader side of racism,
which proclaimed that some races were more superior to others such as the whites being above all
other races. The reason the whites were considered superior to the other races emerged from the
encounter of Europeans on the Native Americans, Asians, and Africans. The Social Darwinism
Theory further supported this encounter. This theory explained that humans belonged to different
species of races and biologically competed for existence with one another. The theory further
explained that only the superior races could survive the struggle through wars. Social Darwinism
has been revealed in the contemporary society as the creation of fake science because there has not
been any biological evidence that can

The Effects of the Video Game Industry on Japan
Much in the world today is of Japanese origin. Indeed, Japanese influence can be seen all over the
worldВ—on television, in comic books, in video games, in electronics, in the film industry, and
even in music. In fact, currently, 60% of all the cartoon shows being broadcast on television the
world over are from Japan. (Croal) Indeed Japanese anime characters have established a
substantial base of fans in Europe and North America (Shuhei). Similarly, the Japanese video game
industry has been very successful in the world. It has proven to have many positive effects on the
world, even though many people have repeatedly tried and failed to vilify it. Perhaps one of the
most important industries in modern Japan, video games have both... Show more content on

His talents were soon realized for what they were, and his rising positions within the company
eventually led him to become a designer for games. His first game Donkey Kong was a smash
hit. In modern video games there has been a rising emphasis on music, especially since there
was none or very little in the video games of old, because it can alter the reviews of games,
leading to success or failure. This weight put on music makes jobs for composers, synthesizers,
and music directors, the soundtracks even selling as well as pop music. (Kohler) In fact, these
musicians work is so profitable to the industry (and indeed commonplace) that programmer
Fumito Ueda chuckled in response to a question regarding the idea of taking out even the music
from his mainly dialogue less game. He said, If I took out the music, it would be even harder to
bond with Ico [the name of the main character and the game itself], even if the players had
maximum sound effects. (Kohler, 253) Video game companies have also had to hire marketing
experts and people to work in their sales departments, and they have had to also send their games
to production houses where they are produced and made ready to sell. Stats of video game jobs
Perhaps because popular video games, ever since the rise of the industry, have been heavily
Japanese influenced, many people the

The Odyssey By Homer Is Considered The First And Greatest...
One man said, All men are created equal ; however, men treat women differently in today s culture.
Society categorizes them as less intelligent, not capable of working in job fields such as
construction, and generally less important than men. Because of these ideas, women do not have
the same advantages as men. The importance is the effect it has on the progression of the future.
Today, women have overcome most stereotypes, but there are still plenty remaining. Most
stereotypes originate from ancient times, for example this theme is seen in the Odyssey, written by
Homer, who is considered the first and greatest epic poet. Women face persecution daily through the
media and society, yet the way society thinks towards them is changing.
In the Odyssey, there is a demeaning description of women. The thought of how evil and useless
women are shows up in all female characters. The main theory is women are possessions or prizes
to be won. They are shown as malevolent, sinister beings with terrible intentions. Starting with
Calypso, Homer describes her as evil and unfair. Calypso takes Odysseus captive and makes him
become her boyfriend (Homer 485). There is no mention of Odysseus wanting to stay; therefore,
it makes Calypso sound worse than she probably is. The reader infers how mean Calypso is
when she says, Oh you vile gods, in jealousy supernal!/ You hate it when we choose to lie with
men / immortal flesh by some dear mortal side [...] Surely I cannot send him,/ I have no

Systems Administration And Network Services
1.Goal After two labs focusing purely on the Linux side of systems administration and network
services, this third lab puts Windows into the spotlight and how it deals with configuring
services as compared to the previous RHEL based configurations. Many of the same tasks which
were completed using a RHEL 7 virtual machine in lab 2, such as setting up DHCP and DNS,
are repeated in this lab on a Windows 2012 Datacenter virtual machine. This is done not only to
show the differences in service administration, but also to indirectly teach students the steps as
well as precautions that need to be taken when integrating in different enterprise server operating
system families which very well could be running the same network services, such as in the case
of this lab. Instead of merely just installing the same services and letting the clients make
decisions on what data to receive from who, this lab also presents the challenge of making these
two very different operating systems work together when the time comes to configure the DNS
server on the Windows VM. A major point I took away from this is that while the Microsoft and
ISC implementation of a DNS server can be seen as widely different, the integration of the two is
very smooth and easy due to both of them still following the base rules of the DNS protocol as
well as framework found in the numerous RFC s which describe it. Active Directory, which is also
installed on the server, was review at this point from multiple different

Preschool Class Reflection
For this task, I watched my mom s preschool class and the three kids which she keeps an eye on
ends of the week. The majority of the children that are in the preschool class were three years of
age, however, there was one five years old. The children I helped keep an eye on two twin three
year old young ladies, and one five years old.
When I initially touched base at the preschool, the children appeared to be extremely timid
towards me and they didn t appear as though they were exceptionally agreeable. I was an outsider
to them, and I would need to figure that the greater part of the youngsters was encountering a tiny
bit of more unusual uneasiness. I conversed with my mom about how the kids responded toward
the start of the year when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These kids trusted that these animals were genuine, however, they just couldn t see them. However,
the enjoyment with the leprechauns had recently started. To test the children s confidence in the
farfetched, I had my mom and the children make little pots, and afterward, I had my mom tell the
majority of the children that on the off chance that they were great. The leprechaun would abandon
them gold in their pot. While these children were eating their bites. I cleared out and put gold
confection in their pots, and after that sat tight for their responses and remarks when they returned
to perceive what had happened. I wish I could have recorded their responses since some of them
were clever. I saw that one youngster bounced around and shouted that he was here, he was here,
what s more, another youngster was checking out the room endeavoring to discover the leprechaun.
In general, I found that my animistic intuition venture functioned admirably. To finish up my
perceptions on animistic considering, I found that the majority of the children appeared to have
convictions in light of what they detected to be valid, instead of on what might be rational or
discerning.
Dialect advancement between the three year old children and the five year old children was
stunning. There were some linguistic morpheme issues that I grabbed on all through my stay at the
preschool and when I was keeping an eye on

Discuss the Effects of Globalisation on Economic Growth...
Discuss the effects of globalisation on economic growth and the quality of life in the Chinese
economy.
Globalisation is the progression towards a growing assimilation between different countries in order
to gain a single world market. It strongly encourages overseas trade, the removal or the reduction of
trade barriers to increase economic growth and development. Globalisation ultimately presents to
everyone a world which is increasingly liberalized and market orientated. Associated with
globalisation there is increased and intensified competition and greater interdependence among
countries. In numerous ways China has taken this opportunity and used it to its full advantage
which has enhanced economic growth and significantly improved ... Show more content on

This has led to a decrease in agricultural produce and an astonishing increase in industrial goods
and services and alleviated a substantial amount of China s absolute poverty.
The Chinese government has embraced a series of strategic policies to address the challenge of
economic globalization. These strategies started in 1978 after Chairman Mao s self sufficient
economy plan. China began employing several reform strategies to enhance growth. This included
stimulating the agricultural sector to allow them to sell a percentage on the free trade market yet
hold a competitive position. In addition to this citizens were given money incentives and tax
breaks in order to start new businesses and allocated regions were created to encourage high levels
of investment, increase exports and increase technology levels.
Other reform strategies included Deng Xiaoping s the rearrangement of the economic structure by
increasing the development of the high technology sector and moving away from the agricultural
sector; transformation of the pattern of economic growth by increasing power in IT education and
sustainable development as well as additional progress of the outward oriented economy by
implementing come in and go out strategies. This is where the government encourages its
enterprises to invest overseas. This has been demonstrated in Australia where Chinese investors
have bought farming land

Difference Between Presupposition And Entailment
Introduction:
Presupposition and entailment are two phenomenons in the field of semantics in which speakers
assume that particular information is already known by their listeners. Presupposition defined in
The Cambridge Encyclopedia of Language is,
The information that a speaker assumes to be already known.
Presuppositions are therefore implicit assumptions about the background beliefs and scenarios
made by the speaker to be mutually known by the addressee. For example,
The World War has ended.
This utterance implies two things. Firstly, there was a World War. Secondly, it has now ended.
Have you stopped playing piano?
This example presupposes that the person referred to in the question once played the piano.
Types of presupposition: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In counterfactual it is not only a false or non factive statement but it is also far from the reality. Or
it s only a wish or dream that may never come true. Example,
If I was rich I would have booked a room in Burj khalifa.
It presupposes that the subject wishes to be rich and then be able to book a room in Burj Khalifa.
Difference between Entailment and Presupposition:
Entailment and Presupposition are two very closely related terms however there is a very distinct
difference between them. Entailment is a relationship between two sentences, where the truth of
one implies the truth of the other. The difference between the two terms can be suggested as such
that, negation of a sentence does not change its presuppositions whereas, the negation of a sentence
changes the entailment. For example,
I want to take a dance class again.
I don t want to take a dance class again.
Presupposition: Both the sentences presuppose that the subject has already taken a dance class
before.
Entailment: First sentence entails that the subject is willing again to take a dance class. While the
second sentence entails that now the subject has taken it before he/she does not want to take it

  • 2. Genes And Functions Of Proteins Genes is something every living organism has. Genes are found in the DNA, which is the center for information that gives instructions for what type of protein the cell is suppose to produce, it s lifespan, maturity, and function. The gene is a subunit of DNA. It holds the instructions for what the proteins should be producing. Proteins are molecules that properly instruct the cells structure, function, and regulations of the body s tissues and organs. Amino acids are what proteins are made of. They are connected to one another in long chains. There are a variety of different types of amino acids that can be put together to make a protein. Each different sequence of amino acids tells the proteins structure and function. Antibodies, enzymes, messengers, structural components, and transport or storage proteins are different examples of protein function. ( How Do Genes Direct the Production of Proteins? , April 2015) Majority of genes hold information that is essential to produce functional proteins. From a geneto a protein the transformation is rigorous and the mechanisms happen in every single cell. There are two steps for the process of making a DNAgene to a protein which are transcription and translation. In the process of transcription, the information in a genes DNA being made into RNA(ribonucleic acid) in the cells nucleus. The kind of RNA that holds information for making a protein is a mRNA which is thw messenger RNA. It transports information to nucleus into the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Masculinity In Bonnie And Clyde Film Aside from Arthur Penn s Bonnie and Clyde film, there was another impactful movie that became influential during the 1960s as well. The Graduate, directed by Mike Nichols, was a movie that projected a storyline of secrets and deception. Like Bonnie and Clyde, this was also released in 1967. Benjamin Braddock, a college graduate, had recently moved back home where his parents threw him a graduation party. However, viewers come to found out that he starts to have an affair with Mrs. Robinson, an unsatisfied housewife. Little does she know, Benjamin starts to fall for her daughter, Elaine. At the same time, they re trying to figure what their future will hold. While as for the older generation, it shows the different mindsets between the new and the old. It was a time where values and morals were called into question. Mrs. Robinson exemplifies what it s like to comprehend and brace the concept of femininity while still undergoing the values of a patriarchal society. During the 1960s, gender inequality had continually impacted several Americans. However, we re still struggling in today s society which shows much we ve evolved as a nation. From the film, Benjamin is having an affair with an older woman which seems to be out of the norm especially during their time. Through Mr. Robinson, we can see that he is displeased when he finds out about his wife s affair with a younger man. On the other hand, Mrs. Robinson is also disturbed and dissatisfied when she finds out Benjamin falls for her daughter, Elaine. From her perspective, she craves the attention where she failed to receive from her husband. This starts to evoke ideas into people s heads about values and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Fourth Amendment And The 4th Amendment A persons property is often what they take pride in, which makes it easy to see why the saying a mans home is his castle is so popular and widely understood. So when the gates of their castle get knocked down and their treasures taken; the king of the castle is left with nothing to hold as his own. Americans right to be secure is the moat surrounding their castle, it guarantees Americans protection against unreasonable search and seizure. The right to be secure is guaranteed in the 4th amendment of the Bill of Rights, which is a section of the U.S. Constitution listing a citizens guaranteed rights. The U.S. Constitution was written in 1787 but lacked the support required to be ratified; as it needed support from 9 of the 13 states prior to its ratification. The constitution received the backing of its 9th state after adding the Bill of Rights to the Constitution. The addition of a Bill of Rights was required for the support of many states as one of the largest concerns the states had with the Constitution was that the Government would have too much power and control over citizens. So the addition of a Bill or Rights stating what the Government may or may not do as well as guaranteeing the freedoms and rights of citizens helped end the states concerns. The support after the addition of the Bill of Rights led to the Constitutions ratification on March 4th, 1789. Comparing Sweat And The Story Of An Hour Sweat by Zora Neale Hurston (1926) and The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin (1894) at first glance may seem like wildly dissimilar stories with absolutely nothing in common. The Story of an Hour, for one thing, was written by an upper class white woman in 1894, while Sweat was written by a not so prosperous black woman in 1926. The Story of an Houris about a woman named Mrs. Mallard whose husband has not allowed her to have a lot of freedom because of a heart condition. When she finds out that her husband has died in a train accident, her friends are worried that, because of that condition, the news will kill her. I have just completed the Jung type sorter, the Big five inventory, the mating intelligence scale, and the flirting style test. I had taken both the Jungian Type Sorter and the Big Five Inventory previously, but now have a better understanding what my scores mean. The Mating intelligence and Flirting Styles tests were both novel to me, I enjoyed these two tests the most, but have doubts about the accuracy of my responses to questions. Jungian Type Sorter My Jungian type was Extraverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving, or ENFP. Alternatively, INFP due to a low preference for extraversion over introversion (3% vs 1% respectively). Reading through the descriptions of both personality types I cannot say that either align terribly well with my own self judgement. The experience is reminiscent of reading a horoscope; I can easily identify with about half of the claims made, while a quarter are slightly off the mark, and the remaining are dead wrong. Considering though that the descriptions must be written to encompass scorers at both extremes of the scales, this doesn t necessarily indicate a lack of validity in the model itself. The website lists some famous ENFPs. Assuming their assessments are valid, it is certainly gratifying to be likened to Mark Twain, a man whose gruff compassion I have always admired. Find a set of k points /centers in R^d, such that the mean squared distance from each data point to its nearest centre (one of the k centers) is minimized. Paper Summaries: A local search approximation algorithm for k means clustering (2004) The paper considered whether there exists a simple and practical approximation algorithm for k means clustering. It brings up the classical tradeoff between run time and approximation factor. A local improvement heuristic based on swapping centers in and out that yields a (9 + Пµ) approximation algorithm is presented. The paper also shows that any approach based on performing a fixed number of swaps achieves an approximation factor of at least (9 Пµ) in all sufficiently high dimensions by providing example. In summary, the approximation factor is almost tight for algorithms based on methods that perform fixed number swaps as shown by the paper. The effectiveness of Lloyd type methods for the k means problem (2006) This paper show that if the data satisfies a natural condition on separation/clusterability, then a near optimal clustering result can be expected as various Lloyd style methods would have great performance in such setting. • 20. Realist Fiction As Realistic Fiction Genre Why: The novel is classified as Realistic Fiction because the events of the novel could take place in real life. Text Evidence: On page 5, the author provides a detailed, realistic setting told by the protagonist s point of view That summer, let s see, I m still living under the basement, my own private down under, in the little room Grim built for me there. Glued up this cheap paneling, right? It sort of buckles away from the concrete cellar walls, a regular ripple effect, but do I complain about the crummy paneling, or the rug that smells like old tide? I do not. (Philbrick, 5) The readers can also infer about the character through their dialect, and in this case, the protagonist seems to be observant of their surroundings and is mostly likely still in school. In a family conflict on page 89, it shows conflict seen through the protagonist s eyes. ....this shouting starts upstairs, Understand, Grim never yells at Gram, not that I can ever remember, and Gram, well, the worst thing she ever does is cry when she s mad. But somebody else sure is yelling up there, and so I sneak up the stairs and I don t even have to put my ear to the door, that s how loud it is. Through the protagonist, we see the situation realistically and vividly and how this is affects certain people. This is described vividly that it feels like we are experiencing what the protagonist is experiencing. 2. What can you infer about the author based on the novel? Inference: I can infer that ... It changed the Federal legal status of enslaved people in the South from slave to free. This proclamation ordered all ten states to free slaves. This proclamation excluded areas not in the rebellion. The reason these areas were excluded is because the proclamation was issued under the president s authority to suppress rebellion and it was not passed by Congress as a law. The Southern Confederate supporters were given sixty days to surrender their slaves or they would face confiscation of their land and slaves. Children With Asd ( Autism Spectrum Disorder ) Summary: Parron and colleagues conducted a study where children with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) were asked to recognise biological motion through the use of PLDs (point light displays). They aimed to find whether high functioning children with autism showed the same specific problem with perceiving emotional material in PLDs in comparison to typically developing children. Secondly, they wanted to explore the degree performance on these tasks and whether it is comparable to high functioning adults with ASD. The use of PLDs depicted different motions depending on the four conditions which included, a person s actions, subjective states, emotional condition and everyday objects. Additionally, autistic children seem to have difficulty in recognising bodily gestures and context on an emotional level, yet seem to compare similarly to typically developing children on recognising simple actions (Hubert et al, 2007). ASD consists of various mental disorders such as autism, Asperger s syndrome, and childhood disintegrative disorder (DSM IV). Autism is undeniably a part of ASD, defined as a triad of impairments, it consists of specific deficits which may be more susceptible in recognising certain types of motion (Wing and Gould in 1979 as cited in Mitchell Fenja, 2013). As Parron et al hypothesised to find differences in autistic children, the findings are more generalised to ASD rather than autism thus reducing the internal validity of the findings. Gepner and Mestre in 2002 found those with autism showed less postural reactivity in comparison to those with Asperger s syndrome whom showed increased postural activity (as cited in Greffou et al, 2011). This suggests, regardless of the subcategories within ASD, there are variations amongst the specific mental disorders, which affects the internal validity of this study. The use of PLD is prominent in studies which have undeniably influenced Parron et als research, particularly when measuring recognition of biological motion (Moore, Hobson Lee, 1997 as cited in Parron et al, ... The enzyme Tyrosinase binds with its substrates L DOPA and D DOPA, L 3,4 dihydroxyphenylalanine and D 3,4 dihydroxyphenylalanine respectively, which can form Dopachrome (oxidation of L DOPA) (Vernier, 2015). The graph is called a Lineweaver Burk plot and it essentially linearizes the Michaelis Menten equation by fitting it to the linear equation (Figure 3) (University of Arizona, 2006). The Lineweaver Burk plot allows interpretation of enzyme activity and enzyme inhibition by observation. It accentuates the changes in Km and Vmax, which is important considering the effects inhibitors have on enzymes. The graph plots one over initial velocity as the Y axis, and one over substrate concentration as the X axis (University of Arizona, 2006). As such, the slope is equivalent to Km over Vmax, the Y intercept is equal to one over Vmax, and the X intercept is negative one over Km (University of Arizona, 2006). The most important assassination attempts were known as Operation Spark in 1943, and Operation Valkyrie, or known as the July 20th Plot, which took place in 1944. The importance of these assassination attempts was the people closest to Hitler, who has the realization that the country was going to be destroyed as long as Hitler was in power. However, these assassination attempts ended with Hitler sentencing the conspirers to death by the hundreds, making him more paranoid than ever and forcing him to continue with the losing war effort on the western and eastern fronts. Although the assassination attempts failed, they were able to play their part in helping the allies secure victory over the Nazi Regime. Inevitably, the only man that could end the war, and the only man that could kill Hitler, was Adolf Hitlerhimself. Perhaps the most well prepared plans of the assassinations of Hitler were due to the work of a high ranking military officer named Henning von Tresckow. When 1941 came around, Henning von Tresckow found himself sick with the actions of the SS and the Gestapo in the areas they were operating. With his military connections, Henning von Tresckow was able to recruit other military officials to join him in the fight to overthrow Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Regime. The allegiance to the Nazi Regime began to weaken in early 1943 because of the horrific loss to the Soviet Union in the battle of Stalingrad. Henning von Tresckow and his collaborators saw this as a window to take out Hitler, and gain control of Germany putting an end to the war. Operation Spark was planned to take place at the Army Group Centre, which Henning von Trescknow was the Chief Operations Officer. Hitler was visiting the headquarters and would stay for dinner before departing back to Germany. Trescknow and his crew contemplated which method to use in the assassination, but ultimately decided on a time bomb. The measure taken to lower interest rates below zero, constitutes the negative interest rates policy (NIRP) which are been adopted with a price stability objective. In ensuring stability of prices Central Banks aim for low inflation rates. Despite, the aim for low inflation, the rates need to be significantly below but also close to 2 percent. The European Central Bank(ECB) influences inflationby effecting changes on the interest rates. Even so, despite the risk of conflating the nominal lower bound, not going below the zero percentage mark and with inflation remaining relatively low the real rates would then not fall further. In consideration of the fact that the euro area deposit rate was already at the zero percent mark, and the refinancing rate at 0.25 percent, cutting the refinancing rate will demand a push the deposit rate to negative territory. Therefore, to sustain the functionality of the money market the ECB had to push the deposit rate to 0.10 per cent to maintain the corridor after lowering the refinancing rate to 0.15 percent (Benoit). Subsequently, in January 2016, Bank of Japan (BOJ) adopted a monetary easing policy imposing negative rates (Kuroda). With Japan looking to encourage more lending and spur high spending to push inflation the negative interest rateof 0.1 percent was set. In a 2016 progressive report, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) explains that, when low interest rates prolong over the long term they reflect diminished ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Why Asian Mother Are Superior By Amy Cha Despite of your background or ethnicity, all parents want to get the best for their own children. In order to obtain a better life, some parents raise different than others but the goal is the same. In Why Asian Mother are superior by Amy Chua, the author explains how she raise her daughters by not allowing them some things with the purpose of getting the best for them. I have some similarities in the way of how she treats her daughters but I also share some differences with her drastic methods. I do believe that Chinese methods are effective; however, I do not agree with them and also I do not believe they are superior than others. My parents are a combination of Western and Chinese, which I believe it is the correct way to raise a kid. My parents always said to me that doing something in excess is not good and now that I m an adult, I strongly agree with them because life is not just about one thing. As a kid, you needto experiment new things in order to learn and know about life. As everyone knows, Chinese people are consider as one of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Chinese parents sometimes are too strict with their kids. When they obtain bad scores in school, they abuse and shame them to the point where their self esteem is very low. As Chua noted, That s why the solution to substandard performance is always to excoriate, punish and shame the child (413). By contrast, I do not believe that all the blame should be on child. If a child is studying hard for a test and he gets a B, the first thing that a parents should do is talk to the child and try to help him as much as he can. If you punish him and blame everything on your kid, he is going to be afraid of you and that is going to bring serious issues to him. • 41. The Anti Semitism Introduction Scientific racism refers to the application of scientific systems and assumptions to justify racism that can be expressed as either racial subordination or racial dominance. During the 19th century in Europe, there were massive technological and scientific advancements. Science provided information on the human anatomy, psychology, evolution, and genetics that led to the formulation of racist views against the Jewsby the philosophers and politicians. In this essay, I will discuss the reasons why I believe that the anti Semitism racismwithin the nineteen century was scientifically justified as well as the manner in which this discrimination was implemented on the Jewish race. Anti Semites perspective on the Jews was a development of a broader side of racism, which proclaimed that some races were more superior to others such as the whites being above all other races. The reason the whites were considered superior to the other races emerged from the encounter of Europeans on the Native Americans, Asians, and Africans. The Social Darwinism Theory further supported this encounter. This theory explained that humans belonged to different species of races and biologically competed for existence with one another. The theory further explained that only the superior races could survive the struggle through wars. Social Darwinism has been revealed in the contemporary society as the creation of fake science because there has not been any biological evidence that can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Indeed, Japanese influence can be seen all over the worldВ—on television, in comic books, in video games, in electronics, in the film industry, and even in music. This weight put on music makes jobs for composers, synthesizers, and music directors, the soundtracks even selling as well as pop music. He said, If I took out the music, it would be even harder to bond with Ico [the name of the main character and the game itself], even if the players had maximum sound effects. • 43. The Odyssey By Homer Is Considered The First And Greatest... One man said, All men are created equal ; however, men treat women differently in today s culture. Society categorizes them as less intelligent, not capable of working in job fields such as construction, and generally less important than men. Because of these ideas, women do not have the same advantages as men. The importance is the effect it has on the progression of the future. Today, women have overcome most stereotypes, but there are still plenty remaining. Most stereotypes originate from ancient times, for example this theme is seen in the Odyssey, written by Homer, who is considered the first and greatest epic poet. Women face persecution daily through the media and society, yet the way society thinks towards them is changing. In the Odyssey, there is a demeaning description of women. The thought of how evil and useless women are shows up in all female characters. The main theory is women are possessions or prizes to be won. They are shown as malevolent, sinister beings with terrible intentions. Starting with Calypso, Homer describes her as evil and unfair. Calypso takes Odysseus captive and makes him become her boyfriend (Homer 485). There is no mention of Odysseus wanting to stay; therefore, it makes Calypso sound worse than she probably is. The reader infers how mean Calypso is when she says, Oh you vile gods, in jealousy supernal!/ You hate it when we choose to lie with men / immortal flesh by some dear mortal side [...] Surely I cannot send him,/ I have no ... • 44. Systems Administration And Network Services 1.Goal After two labs focusing purely on the Linux side of systems administration and network services, this third lab puts Windows into the spotlight and how it deals with configuring services as compared to the previous RHEL based configurations. Many of the same tasks which were completed using a RHEL 7 virtual machine in lab 2, such as setting up DHCP and DNS, are repeated in this lab on a Windows 2012 Datacenter virtual machine. This is done not only to show the differences in service administration, but also to indirectly teach students the steps as well as precautions that need to be taken when integrating in different enterprise server operating system families which very well could be running the same network services, such as in the case of this lab. Instead of merely just installing the same services and letting the clients make decisions on what data to receive from who, this lab also presents the challenge of making these two very different operating systems work together when the time comes to configure the DNS server on the Windows VM. A major point I took away from this is that while the Microsoft and ISC implementation of a DNS server can be seen as widely different, the integration of the two is very smooth and easy due to both of them still following the base rules of the DNS protocol as well as framework found in the numerous RFC s which describe it. Active Directory, which is also installed on the server, was review at this point from multiple different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This included stimulating the agricultural sector to allow them to sell a percentage on the free trade market yet hold a competitive position. In addition to this citizens were given money incentives and tax breaks in order to start new businesses and allocated regions were created to encourage high levels of investment, increase exports and increase technology levels. Other reform strategies included Deng Xiaoping s the rearrangement of the economic structure by increasing the development of the high technology sector and moving away from the agricultural sector; transformation of the pattern of economic growth by increasing power in IT education and sustainable development as well as additional progress of the outward oriented economy by implementing come in and go out strategies. • 47. Difference Between Presupposition And Entailment Introduction: Presupposition and entailment are two phenomenons in the field of semantics in which speakers assume that particular information is already known by their listeners. Presupposition defined in The Cambridge Encyclopedia of Language is, The information that a speaker assumes to be already known. Presuppositions are therefore implicit assumptions about the background beliefs and scenarios made by the speaker to be mutually known by the addressee. For example, The World War has ended. Or it s only a wish or dream that may never come true. Example, If I was rich I would have booked a room in Burj khalifa. It presupposes that the subject wishes to be rich and then be able to book a room in Burj Khalifa. Difference between Entailment and Presupposition: Entailment and Presupposition are two very closely related terms however there is a very distinct difference between them. Entailment is a relationship between two sentences, where the truth of one implies the truth of the other. The difference between the two terms can be suggested as such that, negation of a sentence does not change its presuppositions whereas, the negation of a sentence changes the entailment. For example, I want to take a dance class again. I don t want to take a dance class again. Presupposition: Both the sentences presuppose that the subject has already taken a dance class before. Entailment: First sentence entails that the subject is willing again to take a dance class. While the second sentence entails that now the subject has taken it before he/she does not want to take it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
