Psychodynamic Personality Theories
Introduction:
Personality is something every living, and mentally functioning human member of society has. Our
personalities are made up of our behaviours and the way in which we think, feel and act no two
people are exactly alike in personality. (Fletcher and Garton, 2015).
Personality plays a major role in psychology as it is constantly being talked about in terms of
developing it, measuring it and how it can influence the way we interact with others.
Theorists have identified different traits and characteristics as a way to categorise different
personality types. Within psychology there is three theories relating to Personality; humanistic,
psychodynamic and trait. These perspectives were developed by different psychological theorists,
in which this presentation we ll attempt to draw further into. In particular, this presentation will
focus on humanistic and psychodynamic personality perspectives. (Fletcher and Garton, 2015)
Theory 1: Freud s Psychodynamic View
Psychodynamics is one of the three major personality perspectives and leads people to believe that
human thoughts, feelings and actions are caused by a relationship between three elements of the
mind the id, the ego and the super ego. Our minds are divided into three levels, conscious
awareness, preconscious awareness and unconscious awareness. It ... Show more content on

As stated in (McLeod, 2013) Freud was one of the most influential people of the 20th century.
Freud was responsible for the use of psychoanalysis, a way in which mental illnesses are often
treated and patients were encouraged to talk freely about whatever was on their mind. This is
typically where the idea of laying on couch and talking to a psychologist about one s mental
health comes from Freud s famous couch and his use of analysing behaviour. Freud is one of the
leading theorists of psychodynamics and had one of the major inputs into the ideas it was based on.

Aca Code Of Ethics Essay
Which code(s) might cause you difficulties when you are a practicing counselor and why?
Professional ethic codes designate the highest expectations of professional implications and
describe the potential situations that we can face in practice. Instead of these great efforts, one
booklet cannot include all we need when we encounter an ethical dilemma. Particularly, when the
law and ethics code conflicts, ethical decision making become highly critical and problematic.
According to me, one of the most challenging ethical dilemmas occurs while working with a
minor client who demands for keeping her/his information confidential. As far as I concern, this
might not be uncommon in the counseling field and ethical decision making does not seem to be
easy. Besides the professional ethical codes, counselors have to know laws and consider the best
interest of the client. As a general rule, parents and legal guardians are responsible for and have a
right to be informed about their children until these children reach the age of eighteen. Although
there are some exceptions, this is the general rule in the US and most of the countries around the
world. Certainly, this is a reasonable rule especially if parents and legal guardians are supportive
and cooperative with the therapist. ACA Code of ethics (2014) dealt with this issue with the codes of

I have been questioning and reassessing my cultural identity and stance for a long time.
Fortunately, living in a foreign country nurtured my cultural awareness in some way. Since, while I
was part of dominant class in my country, now I am in a disadvantageous position in many ways
(female, young, Muslim, Middle Eastern, having language barrier, etc.), and for the first time I
experienced unintentional racism and micro aggressions from others. Consequently, I had a chance
to be on both sides. This is difficult, but the most favored part of mental health field to

Art In The Age Of Mechanical Reproduction
In order to properly argue my point it is best to lay out the framework of Benjamin s argument.
Benjamin begins his essay, The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction by briefly
distinguishing his categories from traditional aesthetic values, those of creativity and genius,
eternal value and mystery (Benjamin, 218). In contrast, he relates these tendencies to bourgeois
and fascist ideologies and to the conditions, inevitably generated out of capitalism itself, which
provoke revolutionary demands in the politics of art (217 8) Benjamin claims that in times past
the role of art has been to provide a magical foundation for the cult. Here the artwork s use value
was located in its central position within ritual and religious tradition (223 4). A statue or idol
conveyed a sense of authority, or magical power, which inhered in that particular historical
artifact. The reproduction in mass of such an item would have been unthinkable because it was a
unique singularity, and it would lose its aura . He focuses on describing the objects aura, defining
the aura as: We define the aura of the later as the unique phenomenon of a distance, however close
it may be. If, while resting on a summer afternoon, you follow with your eyes a mountain range on
the horizon or a branch which casts its shadow over you, you experience the aura of those
mountains, of that branch (222 3). The term implies an atmosphere and a transcendent feeling that
happens when you experience an object.

Options for Production Systems Applicable to IAAS
There are four broad options for production systems applicable to IAAS, namely: farm dams; pond
culture; tank culture, and cage based culture. Production system design for any one integrated
farming model is likely to fit into one of the following three categories: Extensive systems:
characterized by ambient conditions, low stocking density and generally using existing
infrastructure with little or no modification (e.g. farm dams) or management intervention (e.g. no
supplementary feeding). Semi intensive systems: usually occurs in modified/constructed ponds,
cages or tanks under ambient conditions with moderate stocking densities requiring management
of water exchange, water quality and feeding regimes. Intensive systems: high stocking density,
high levels of capital investment and reliant on complete control of water quality and feeding
regimes under largely controlled environmental conditions. Ponds can vary greatly in size and
depth, depending on site characteristics, but are generally 0.1 2.0 ha in area, 0.5 2.0 m deep and
may have a sloping bottom from 0.5 m to 1.5 2.0m deep, draining to a harvesting sump (Ogburn et
al. 1995). For this project the pondtype will be discussed, as the fish farm we selected is pond
culture. There are different reasons affecting to the choice of the selection of farm. The main
reason for choosing the Charly s Angels culture is that as the main goal of this thesis is to utilize
water use of fishponds the largest water user farms

Colonial Era To The Romantic Era
As America sought to create their own literary voice following the Revolutionary War, the transition
from the Colonial Era to the Romantic Era was a notable one, changing the voice of our country
throughout the 19th century. Marked by themes of individualism, idealism, and being in touch with
nature, Romanticismaltered both the art and writing of the time and has certainly left a lasting
impact to this day.
Key changes observed in the artwork of the time included the used of warmer color tones and
portraits, such as the one discussed in our forum, featured women in a more relaxed position. These
modifications reflected the changing times as many people began to branch out from social norms
and make their own statement. William Cullen Bryant

Notes On The And Hiv Counselling
NACP and HIV counselling
NACP began in 1987, as an Indian health ministry initiated surveillance taskforce, after the first
Indian HIV case was reported. Since then, it has extended its role to provide HIV services (IAVI,
2005; Singh et al., 2005). In 1992, the Indian Health Ministry set up the National AIDS Control
Organisation (NACO) as a separate wing to implement and closely monitor various components of
the programme (Singh et al., 2005; NACO, 2015b). Services provided under this programme trickle
down to states and districts through their respective AIDS Control Societies supported by non
governmental organisations (NGO). NACP was also responsible for targeted interventions aimed at
facilitating behavioural change in HRG communities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An integrated counselling and training centre (ICTC) is a place where VCT services are provided
to the clients who are either referred or walk in voluntarily to the centre (NACO 2004). An ICTC
links the client with a range of services such as family planning, financial access, treatment and
care, legal support, community and peer support, employment services and even with spiritual
support centres (NACO, 2006). Being diagnosed HIV positive and coming to terms with this
knowledge has profound emotional, social, behavioural, and medical implications (Bharat, 2011;
NACO, 2004). Counselling aims to support the HIV positive clients in understanding the disease;
making them aware of their rights; and empowering them to lead a healthy life (Avert, 2014b;
NACO, 2004). In India, most public health facilities have an ICTC, totalling 15,606 in number
(Planning Commission, 2011), along with several stand alone, private and mobile ICTCs (NACO,
2004).
An HIV counselling session is required to follow certain guidelines and code of ethics. The HIV
counselling guidelines, laid down by WHO (2007), aim for a voluntary; non coercive; confidential;
and cost effective approach to provide information, education, and communication (IEC) to the
client, while the Unicef s code of ethics outlines the fundamental values of HIV counselling:

Airline Ticket Prices Is The Foundation Of All Economic...
Supply and demand, together, are the foundation of all economic ventures. Airline ticket prices are
determined by the demand for travelers and the marginal cost of filling the seats; thus generating
supply. The interception of supply and demand is where business is generated. This interception of
the airlines pricing curves is indicated at their equilibrium point where there s neither a surplus nor
a shortage. Why can an airlineticket from Casper, Wyoming to Denver, Colorado, and from
Denver, Colorado to Orlando, Florida cost the same? Does this make economic sense? Where and
when tickets are purchased affects the bottom line price the consumer pays. Price and value are
extremely important in economicsthus; the effect of supply and demand, affects the overall cost of
the ticket.
Goals of Pricing
Airline ticket prices can vary from day to day, from airline to airline; with the most important
variable being competition. Industry pricing for a market of such a magnitude is a micro , and
macro economic decision. Its affects will in turn effect the entire economy of the industry. We all
know that when shopping for the cheapest price for an airline ticket, depending on various
factors, Seaney (2011) you will pay hundreds of dollars more, or less, than the passenger seated
right next to you. That being, the airlines primary goal is to maximize profit(s) on every seat, on
every plane, on every route. This is the result of supply, demand, and price curve working
cohesively

Positive role models are those who possess the qualities that I would love to have and even
improve on. They are those who have affected me in ways that make me want to be a better
person in ways such as volunteering in the community. They help me to advocate for myself when
I am falling short, help me on my steps to taking a leadership position, and even speak out on the
issues that I feel strongly about. I often don t tend to recognize positive role models until I have
noticed my own personal growth. Knowing that it really implies that it takes a positive role modelto
know one. Some positive role models are teachers, clergy members, counselors and even friends.
Throughout my life, I have had many teachers as positive role models. Some teachers teach right
to the tests while others show real world examples and even visit the places that we are learning
about and that is what stands out to me. Aubrey, my core teacher in Israel, really exemplifies this
and is very committed and an amazing role model that really stands out. Aubrey taught the core
curriculum I was a part of while studying in Israel. It is an intense study of Israel and 4,000 years
of Jewish history. It comprises of many things such as engaging classroom study and even life
changing trips to the sites where history took place. My classmates and I used Israel as a living
classroom to explore my heritage and would go back in a heartbeat. What really stood out was that
my teacher would sing, dance, skip, cheer

Essay about E Science Lab 9
Procedure 1
1) The substrate for this procedure was hydrogen peroxide. The enzyme used (contained in the
yeast) would have most likely been catalase.
2) Yes, the rate of gas production increased as more yeast was added, since more enzyme was able
to convert hydrogen peroxide more quickly.
3) Adding less enzyme caused the reaction to proceed more slowly than when more enzyme was
utilized.
4) It is likely that the rate of reaction would increase as substrate is added. It will probably follow
classical michaelis menten kinetics. See the attached picture for an example of this scheme for the
rates (the picture of the hyperbola is the rate vs. the substrate concentration).

For my negative controls I would run the reaction in several separate ways. First, omit the substrate
(to make sure the enzyme is only acting on hydrogen peroxide and not something else in the
mixture). Second, omit the enzyme (to make sure it s not self catalyzed breakdown). Third, I would
incubate substrate with an unrelated protein like albumin (to make sure it s not just the presence of
protein that mediates the breakdown of hydrogen peroxide).
6) See attached for the graph. Correlation appears to be negative with this data. It appears like the
high temperature caused the enzyme to become denatured.
Procedure 3
1) Amylase is utilized to break down starch molecules into more simple sugars for use by the body.
It performs this function by hydrolyzing glycosidic linkages in the polysaccharide chain.
2) The control here was to use a solution containing no starch to show that it was the presence of
starch itself that was needed for the reaction to proceed and not something inherent in the liquid or
the towel itself.
Saliva was used as a positive control for the presence of amylase.
3) Waiting 5 minutes allowed the enzymatic reaction to proceed for sufficient time and break down
the starch.
4) I cannot answer this question with the information presented, but it should be pretty

specialist historian s expertise of various writings on abolitionism, Abraham Lincoln, and the Civil
War era. While Oakes is vigilant to dodge the evident dangers of hero worship, his compassion for
both Lincoln and Douglass is evident throughout. Oakes received the Lincoln Prize for his work on

attain a more perfect union, and his central role in progressing the cause of slave freedom, first by
issuing the Emancipation Proclamation, following by giving full support to a constitutional
amendment that would end slavery all together, and Fredrick Douglass (radical); who in turn began
to temper his ethical tyranny with his own brand of hardheaded realism, concluding with their well

Examples Of Sacrifice In The Crucible
Sacrifices, or the act of someone giving something up that usually has high value to them
because of their consideration to something else, are often portrayed as drastic. They can even
be something extremely small, like giving up peanut butter because a family member is allergic
to it. People don t realize that they make small sacrifices for other people everyday for even the
smallest of things. But as stated previously, sacrifices are often depicted as extreme, and in The
Crucible by Arthur Miller, this is the case. In the play, sacrifices for loved ones are made
constantly. Since Abigail and her group of girls have been continuously accusing people of being
witches, the accused have tried to protect each other as best as possible. When Elizabeth... Show

Benefits Of United States Immigration Reform
U.S Immigration Reform
People are talking about immigration, emigration and the rest of those things. It s all freaking
crap! We re all human beings, we re all mammals, we re all rocks, plants, rivers etc. Borders are
just such a pain in the freaking arse. Shane MacGowan. The U.S immigration should make it
easier for people across the borders to come here because, so many people can come here and
make a better living for themselves. A better living for themselves are basically just living better.
Being able to get by not have to go back to what they use to do. Being grateful that because the U.S
immigration made it easier for them to come here, they are no longer struggling how they use too.
I feel like U.S immigration should make it easier for foreigners to get into the United States
because, it can make a better living for people that come from having nothing. Living on Islands
other places across the borders can be hard them because they don t have everything we have here
in the United States. Some people wake up with nothing could use help with the way they live so
that they won t just give up on life. Not everyone lives great so why not try to help them. If
congress purses reasonable requirements for those wanting to immigrate to America a majority of
the American people will support them. ( Beeson)
I also feel like should make it easier so that the people that do come here can help out their
families back home also their country if they want too. Most people that come from over the
borders they help out back home when they get up on their feet in the United States. Just like
how we help our families here when they need things up here. I feel like just whatever we do here
other people should be able to come here and do the same thing. Families who enter our country
the right way and play by the rules watch others flout the rules. ( Obama)
Another reason the U.S immigration should make it easier because, it will not only help them
with jobs it will also help America with people more to work. Most likely people over the borders
don t really have a good job. They people don t even make enough money, they just make enough
to get by. They probably don t even make minimum. I m not

innumerous variables that existed in each country. People being the highlighted factor of variance,

Its branch of powers is separated in to two, where the executive power lies with the government

arduous for political figures in states and governments to abuse their power. The executive

Homelessness In The United States Research Paper

The topic I have decided to focus Genius Hour on is how to solve the problem of homelessness

should care because if they ever went into foreclosure, they could be secure in knowing that they

eliminating homelessness would be incorporating some socialism factors of government into our
federal government. I consider this a sensible solution because our federal government has a double

Speech On Molecular Gastronomy
I What is molecular gastronomy?
A Definition
Ice sphere cocktails, grenadine sirop caviar and disappearing transparent raviolis are all examples
of Molecular gastronomy. This discipline is a mixture of physics and chemistry and is used to
transform the taste and the texture of food. We commonly use the term Molecular Gastronomy in
order to describe a new style of cuisine. Chefs now use tools from the science laboratory, and
unusual ingredients from the food industry to expend their culinary possibilities. Officially, it is the
scientific discipline that explains the chemical and physical transformations and mechanisms that
occur while cooking. It also studies the social, artistic and technical side of gastronomy.

After analysing the big picture of insurance circumstance, this chapter will discuss the main
problems of EIIC in terms of structural operation and strategic operation in other to find the most
critical fault and some assumed solutions to fix it.
The increasing employee turnover is a very apparent sigh of company dysfunction at EIIC s
organisational structure. According to the case files, there were a lot of complex conflicts between
managers and employees, branch offices and headquarter, technical personnel and administrative
personnel. The most remarkable conflict came from branch managers and the chief inspectors,
which had been finely noticed by EIIC s top officers. So the high employee turnover rate is caused
by the current ineffective organisational structure of EIIC. Both of chief inspector and the bank
manager have the right to make the final decision of whether to insure certain risks or not. What s
more, it is impossible for bank managers to monitor their inspection workers. In conclusion, the
disorganization of the management layer caused more and more conflicts among the staffs and
consequently beat down the employee morals.

The Roots Of Theoretical Constructs
The roots of theoretical constructs of SNA in graph theory has led to the use of mathematical
concepts being borrowed and built upon to suit its needs. As mentioned before, a graph is a
collection of nodes, strung together by edges. Hence, to get from one node to the next, one
needs to travel along the edges. The number of edges traversed to reach from one node to
another forms the notion of distance in graphs. More specifically, the geodesic distance, d(u,v),
between two nodes is defined as the length of the shortest path between them (Bouttier et al.
2003). The conceptualization of distance as the number of intermediate edges between nodes,
capture the way nodes are embedded in the network (Hanneman Riddle 2005, p.77). In terms of a
social systems, being friends with an important person is always beneficial, as it potentially
makes you closer to many people in the network [Needs explanation?]. In SNA, the edges
connecting two vertices are usually un weighted. However, in certain application scenarios, the

probability of forming a tie, or in case of spatial social networks, the geographic distance between

geodesic distance calculation then, needs to account for the weights of the edges. If there is no path

The Men Behind the Scences of the Civil Rights Era Essay...
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for millions of Americans is an iconic portrayal when discussing civil
rights and American democracy. His determination to change segregation through creative and
savvy ways to reach the public led to his stardom. However, there were many others who helped
during the civil rights era who do not get nearly as much praise as MLK Jr. Medgar Evers, James
Meredith, A Philip Randolph, Jesse Jackson are a few gentlemen that rarely received the magnitude
of media focus, popularity or scrutiny that the most charismatic civil rights leaders attracted. Instead
they played different positions either, making telephone calls, visiting numerous homes, organizing
community meetings and rallies. They tried building a large... Show more content on

Both parents preached to their children about the importance of self reliance, pride, and self
respect, values directly contradicting the customary values that African Americans were
expected to assume (Evers Williams, Marable, 30). As a Child Medgar was told how, his great
grandfather had killed two white men in a dispute an had managed to avoid white retaliation by
escaping from town (Evers Williams, Marable, 30) Myrlie Evers Williams now relates James
Evers would constantly preach to his children: My family will be able to walk on the sidewalk.
Whites will treat them with dignity. They will be able to register to vote. There was a great
emphasize on never being apologetic or ashamed of being black. No matter the circumstance they
should never deny their African Americanheritage and culture. These lessons played a pivotal
role on young Medgar and influenced the foundation for what he would soon emerge into as a
young adult. Medgar had a great bond with his older brother Charles. They both were educated in
segregated public schools in Decatur and Newton, Mississippi. Medgar and Charles resented the
fact that they had to walk to school while the white children were transported on school buses.
Medgar s early childhood was typical for any African American child in his community (Evers

Brunelleschi s Influence To The Renaissance
In 1418, the town fathers of Florence realized they had to face a major problem. Il Duomo, the
cathedral that was built to best all others, was missing its roof. This cathedral had been constructed
in 1296 to commemorate Florence s new status as one of the most prosperous cities in Europe. The
cathedral would serve as a symbol of this new Florence. The town fathers had a vision of a
colossal dome that would rise to the heavens without support, pulling one s attention upwards. The
only obstacle was that the technology at the time could not accommodate a dome of the scale as
planned, with a diameter of 180 feet. A competition was announced with the prize of 200 florins,
which was more than a craftsman s two year wage at the time.

His biggest influence was most likely founding architecture as a separate and unique branch of art.
This established architects as more than just laborers and helped raise their status. Architects and
other artists in general received more credit for their work. Another similarly important influence
Brunelleschi had was popularizing the classical style by visiting and examining the ruins of Rome.
This helped repair the disintegrated reputation of Rome. This also established a new idea of beauty
that was achieved through harmony, symmetry and abiding by classical rules and styles. These
rules helped some artists to create individuality and to experience greater artistic freedom.
Brunelleschi s creation of new machinery was still impactful, but less so than the others. This
revolutionary technology ignited a new reliance on science and technology until the point where
math and the arts were inseparably intertwined. Brunelleschi s construction of the dome of Il
Duomo clearly shaped the Renaissance by raising the status of artists and architects, reviving the
classical style and creating a symbiosis of the arts and

Working With Reiki
One of the main reasons why people become interested in learning is the fact, popularized by
practitioners, that working with Reiki helps us make our dreams and goals come true. Yet, rarely
anyone says that such manifestation or dreams and goals takes a lot of time and requires even
more patience. And, of course, the goals and dreams manifest in accordance with the highest good
like everything else when it comes to Reiki.
The first thing, the need for patience, is important, because in order to make our dreams come true,
we need to heal ourselves, first. And that requires a lot of patient healing work with Reiki, dealing
with our own subconscious fears, worries and thinking patterns and healing them. But there are
ways, through which Reiki s spiritual force could help us manifest our dreams and goals ... Show

This might be true, however, there is little hard evidence to prove this theory. Another theory is
that Huna has been created from scratch by Max Freedom Long, a XX century novelist and
author, and that Huna s legend has been made up by him entirely. Which theory is correct? Well, to
be honest, I do not know. Probably no one knows. But the truth is that it doesn t really matter
because Huna works, no matter what do you believe in.
Basically, Huna is a form of magick, in which you perform specific practices in order to achieve
specific results. When you keep some rules in mind, Huna works all the time. These rules are
what we call the basic set of Huna mechanism. To summarize these basics, Huna is all about three
minds the lower self, the middle self and the higher self and about the highest good. By
understanding these elements, and applying them in your practice, you make Huna work for you.

Martin Van Buchanan Analysis
I wanted to examine President Martin Van Buren and President James Buchanan, who were both
Democrats or of the Democratic Party.
These are the key similarities between President Martin Van Buren and President James Buchanan.
First is the offices they held. Both Presidents were in the United States Senate and were appointed
Ministers to foreign countries. Another key similarity is that they both only served one term.
Another one is that neither one of them oversaw a major war.
These are the key differences, between President Martin Van Burenand President James Buchanan.

These are not perfect similarities or differences. At least in the way that someone could say that
Abraham Lincoln freed slaves or Thomas Jefferson owned them. There are two similarities with
the preceding statement. First, both of the Presidents tried to maintain the integrity of the union.
The faster your state expands the harder it is to maintain control and placing a nation under the
support of those who would advocate it be left intact is the lesser of two evils. The second way is
that both of their policies would have been in opposition to Southern Democrats. This is because
Texas would have entered the union a slave state and Southerners would have been opposed to anti
slavery Northerners holding office.
A few other thoughts I had about these men and their party was. This party iteration of the
Democrat seems to have more in common with the Democratic Republicans of the Jeffersonian era
rather than the Democrats around the time President Abraham Lincoln was elected. I reached this
conclusion because the Democrats of the time had a platform of free market economics ie. the use
of gold as currency, solvency and the opposition to state chartered federal

Differences Of Romance, History And History
The notions of romance , history and novel were often replaceable during the end of the seventeenth
century and the beginning of the eighteenth century. On the one hand, there was a disposition to use
the term romance as a synonym of history. On the other hand, there was also a certain inclination
for using romanceand history as two contrary concepts that proceeds into the need to discover the
distinctions and similarities between romance and history, that is, to differentiate between what was
perceived as invented and fictional events; and true facts and related to history (Mckeon).
This unclear cut distinction between facts and fiction generated a kind of disorder in the literary
world during the Restoration period so, writers thought that it was crucial to throw some light on

This quotation underlines the adventures of a knight who seeks to bring justice to the world,
rescuing damsels in distress situations and fighting against villains. In these struggles there is a
triumph of the knight who adopts the role of hero and moves around marvellous elements.
Northrop Frye indicates these two features in this definition of romance:
... the hero is the typical hero of romance, whose actions are marvelous but who is himself
identified as a human being. The hero of romance moves in a world in which the ordinary laws of
nature are slightly suspended: prodigies of courage and endurance, unnatural to us, are natural to
him, and enchanted weapons, talking animals, terrifying ogres and witches, and talismans of
miraculous power violate no rule of probability once the postulates of romance have been
established.

Data Hiding With Codeword Substitution Essay
The paper proposes data hiding with codeword substitution in encrypted H.264/AVC video streams.
Here video is encrypted and data is hided in the video to maintain the security and privacy. In this
way data hiding in encrypted domain without decryption preserves confidentiality of the content.
By analyzing the property of H.264/AVC codec, the codeword of the intra prediction modes, the
code words of motion vector differences and code words of residual coefficients are encrypted with
the stream ciphers. The data hider may embed additional data in the encrypted domain by using
code word substitution technique, without knowing original content. Data extraction can be done
in encrypted domain or in the decrypted domain.
Index Terms Data hiding, encrypted domain, H.264/AVC, codeword substituting.

the ITUT VCEG and ISO/IEC MPEG organization. H.264/AVC is a video compressionformat [2]

of video content which can help to address the security and privacy concerns with cloud computing.
Similarly when medical videos or surveillance videos are encrypted for protecting the privacy of the

Last August Hours Before The Year 2000 Summary
Naomi Shihab Nye is a critically acclaimed writer whose poems focus on themes such as cultural
differences, war, family, and change, as seen in her book, You and Yours. One poem in this
collection, Last August Hours Before the Year 2000, is a free verse poem primarily concerned
with the passage of timeand how we interpret it, while also making heavy use of nature imagery.
One of the major themes in Last August Hours Before the Year 2000 is the passage of time more
specifically, the difference between how we interpret it and how it actually functions on a greater
scale. Of course, the switch from 1999 and 2000 is an excellent subject to use here, since it was the
turn of the new millenium. Nye states What a drama to keep thinking the ... Show more content on

In the beginning, it is used mainly to establish the tone of the poem. Another example is
contained within the lines What better blessing than to move without hurry under trees? (line 4
5). This sentence helps establish the easygoing, idyllic tone. In the last stanza, though, Nye
transitions to using it as part of an extended metaphor for one s life you could lay a soaker hose
across your whole life and know there was something under layers of packed summer earth and
dry blown grass to moisten (lines 22 27). Although, as previously mentioned, many events lose
significance over time on a greater scale, their importance to the individual they affected will
remain, and the stories they leave are not necessarily of a small impact, and a small universal
effect does not invalidate its personal effect. She highlights all of the events, stories, and
memories that make up a person s life, saying she wants to know that the root goes deep (line
20). Documenting the stories of everyday people was actually a major theme in You and Yours,
so it makes sense that she would express a desire to see what lies beyond one s present. These
roots, after all, are valuable experiences. It may seem odd that despite the major focus on the
changing times, Nye chooses to

The And The Righteous Sufferer
Job and the Righteous Sufferer The question Why do bad things happen to good people? has most
likely been around for a very long time. It will always stay relevant as long as there are natural
disasters killing so many people and making others suffer, many of them being innocent. There is no
common factor found among all people that suffer great physical and emotional pain. It happens to
people of all religions, ethnicities, and morality. Sufferingdoes not seek out the guilty, it is just a
part of life. Bad things happen to good people, because bad things happen to all people, so even
the righteous can suffer, which is seen in The Poem of the Righteous Sufferer, and The Book of Job.

the way that they do (RS II:36 37). He says he does not understand the people who praise gods

humans cannot understand the gods, and never will. Much of the same can be said about Job,
the book s eponymous character. Like Shubshi meshre Shakkan, he is a righteous man. God

The only difference is that in this Indian story, not even God(or an equivalent form) was there.
Egyptians and Chinese imagined the same scene, the Nun and the chaotic egg with a giant

tells us that the stars, the sky, the sun, the moon, and the ancestors of all lives were already present
in the beginning, but they are sleeping under the crust of the earth in the water holes (Aborigine).
Seneca people believed that humans were living in the heaven originally, and there were only
ocean and ocean living lives on the earth (Creation). It is very interesting to recognize how
important water is to lives. Every account of creation that I have read included water before
anything else was present.
Whatever was present in the beginning had managed to create all the rest, and the description of
creators are of three categories, a single creator, multi creators, and no creator. In Genesis, God is
the single creator, and so is Brahman of India. The difference is that the God is immortal, but
Brahman is mortal (Genesis, Genesis Project). In Chinese mythology, Pan Gu was the creator of
everything but men, who were created by Nu Wa, a goddess (Lin 1 5). Other examples of multi

Generally speaking, through the violence of war, many would agree that being able to keep your

boy named Adam whom is forced to grow up quickly after the shot heard around the world in
Lexington, Massachusetts on April 19, 1775. A young boys father dies, and one non violent leader

mountains topped with snow. Much of the wedding dress and the door are transparent, allowing
the whole vacation photo to be visible. An antique light fixture accompanies a wide open
doorway on the right wall. The picture plane is confined to a relatively small space. It is mostly
made up of straight lines, the majority of them being vertical or horizontal. The lines of the stair
railing and the right and left walls create a directional force traveling from the foreground to the
background. While observing the print, viewers will be able to notice a pattern of rectangles
repeating throughout the image. There appears to be a monochromatic color scheme, based on the
distribution of varying shades of white, along with the brown railing, ceiling wood, and stain in the
lower corner of the right wall. This could also be considered a neutral color scheme.
In Untitled 5 , viewers see the interior corner of a room on the upper floor of the abandoned house.
As with all of his photographs, Quinn staged this scene. He discovered three wooden picture
frames lying on the floor and positioned them on the adjacent green walls that face the viewers.

Opening Statement About Cowboys
Jordon Gutierrez 1/24/18 Life of cowboys Opening statement Now this goes without saying,
who hasn t heard of Cowboys, we ve all seen the movies, and heard about them in history. But
believe it or not there s a lot more to cowboys than grabbing their guns and shooting the bad guy
at the end then ride into the sunset. Cowboys had more interesting roles in their lives and it
mostly involved cattle with their work as it was an easy market at the time. It was hard work, but
it pays off! History The most important thing is the history about cowboys. Believe it or not, they
weren t called cowboys at first, or that it started in America, it all started with the Vaqueros.

Cowboys COWBOY LIFE For the Cowboy life, starting out sounds easy but the work to come is
the hard part. Cowboys were mostly young men who needed cash. The average cowboy in the
West made about $25 $40 a month, income like that will surely bring out many who want to
work. In addition to herding cattle, they also helped around the ranch as helping hands, treated
horses, repaired fences and buildings, worked cattle drives and in some cases helped establish
frontier towns. (history.com 2010) When they were not working they lived and relaxed on a ranch
in a bunkhouse. For entertainment, some sang songs, played the guitar or harmonica and wrote
poetry. (History.org 2010) Cowboys went by many names in these times like cowpokes,
buckaroos, cowhands, etc. The most experienced cowboy was called the Segundo (Spanish for
second ) and rode squarely with the trail boss. (History.com

The Globalization Of Globalization
Based on Sparke s textbook, Globalization can be defined as the extension, acceleration, and
intensification of consequential worldwide global interconnections. This is what he refers to as
little g globalization. These global interconnections reveal the ties and tensions of globalization.
There is also big G globalization which is what Sparke calls using globalization as a buzzword in a
political context. A big part of globalization is commodities and commodity chains. A commodity
can be simply defined as anything that is bought or sold while a commodity chain is the production
process that produces these commodities. Understanding commodities and commodity chains is
important to be able to understand globalization. One example of how commodities demonstrate
globalization is outsourcing and offshoring. By doing this, companies bring their companies
overseas which means that they are interconnected with other parts of the world. Understanding
commodity chains can also allow you to understand the ties and tensions. I decided to focus on the
apparel industry and the commodity of a piece of clothing. This commodity shows some of the
tensions related to labor, like constantly searching for the cheapest labor, and tensions related to the
environment, like pollution from the clothing industry. A piece of clothing also shows ties through,
for instance, in which countries clothes are produced and to which countries they are being
exported to. The article Indian Textile and

Essay On Ancient Mesopotamian Religion
What similarities can you find between the religions of Ancient Mesopotamian today?
Much like tens of thousands of years ago, religion is still a central component of our lives today.
Some of the most popular religions today are Christianity and Judaism, both based on the Old
Testament/Hebrew Bible and both based in the Near East. Because of cultural assimilation within
the region, it would only be logical for the religions of today to share some similarities of those
established in Ancient Mesopotamia.
One of the most famous lines of the Bible takes place in Genesis 1:1, which states In the beginning
God created the heavens and earth. This line is much like a similar creation myth from the
Sumerians where Marduk creates the heavens and earth by using the body of the slain goddess
Tiamut who personified watery chaos, proceeded to create the universe by dividing Tiamat in two,
one part becoming the heavens and the other the earth with her breasts as mountains. From her eyes
came the Tigris and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In those days the world teemed, the people multiplied, the world bellowed like a wild bull.... In
the Old Testament, humanity has also grown, thus the beginning of the flood myth. Similarly, in
both myths a wise man is told of a catastrophic flood that is to take place by the hand of the gods
(or God) and he must quickly prepare. [B]ecause of his oath warned me in a dream ... tear down
your house and build a boat, abandon possessions [sic] and look for life, despise worldly goods
and save your soul alive. Tear down your house, I say, and build a boat.... Then take up into the
boat the seed of all living creatures.... The purpose of the floods is to destroy humanity. In the case
of the Epic of Gilgamesh, it is to deal with rowdy humans. In the case of the Old Testament, it is to
destroy the humans who have grown wicked and turned their backs to God and return the earth to
its beginning as a watery

Reflection On Professionalism
Being a professional is more than wearing fancy suites, and speaking with complex linguistics.
Professionalism is described as conduct or qualities that are foreseen as professional.
Professionalism can be taught by a person or learned from experiences. For me, personally, I will
reflect on my ethical and personal professionalism and the innate journey it has taken me thus far.
Let s begin from the being of my endeavors in the professional realm. I first learned how to be a
professional from an early age from my mother. She bestowed the wisdom of professionalism and
modeled how professional women should represent themselves. I would say that my mother gave
me the foundation and frame work on how to represent yourself as a professional ... Show more

I imagine words having so much power than people give it credit for. In speculation that as a
professional in counseling profession is an extremely honorable, sometimes tedious line of work.
In maintaining the idea that the field of counseling and helping others is an active duty for
participants involved. This profession I see as fit has and forever will change my life and who I am
as a person. I feel that this profession will also challenge me more than ever before.
As a professional I am asked to put my moral, personal views and cultural entity on hold for the
greater good, while being self aware. I believe my self acceptance will favor me in my profession.
Yet my comfort, loyalty, conscious moral will be tested beyond measurable expectations. In
addition being fully aware of these possibilities I am still as passionate if not more about the
profession.
Another, facet is that being part of the field of counseling, I must abide by ethical standards. These
ethical standards are very black and white, but I use these very cut and dry standards to cater to an
intense colorful multitude of situations. Gasping the concept of the ethical standards being a
foundational source for me is a challenges the uncertainty of clients I may face. The profession of
counseling will give me insight on how and what I can handle. The experience I intend to gain will
test my limits in which I prefer versus not experiencing the situations happen first hand. I sense that

Furthermore, it encouraged the election of Indian members to office by ensuring that covered
jurisdictions could would use single member districts, as opposed to at large elections, when

disenfranchise people based on their race, religion, or gender.
B.Canada
Long before the Canadian parliamentary institutions were created in the late eighteenth century,
Canada s [Indian] peoples had developed their own systems of government . . . [such as] the Six
Nations Confederacy, sometimes referred to as the oldest living participatory democracy on earth.
Before the start of the Confederation period in 1867 during which the Canadian provinces became
unified some provinces, such as Nova Scotia adopted universal male suffrage, however the
legislation contained restrictive clauses stating that Indians and people receiving financial
assistance from the government could not vote. Additionally, while many other provinces did not
explicitly deny voting rights to Indians, their legislation contained provisions that enforced a
variety of qualifications for voters such as (1) age, (2) British citizenship, (3) ownership of
property or assets of a specified value, and (4) payment of taxes. Nevertheless, since status Indians

an informal chain of command. As you are aware, I was the Flight Director for Apollo 13.
During that mission, as soon as we knew there was a problem we moved quickly to diagnose the
situation and frantically devised a way to get the astronauts safely back to earth. From my
experience, I believe that once you think of surrendering that is the path that you go down. As
soon as you start thinking that way, you really have lost the mental sharpness, the mental edge that
is going to take this survival situation and bring it to a successful conclusion. Sadly, the culture
that was present when I was there is noticeably absent. Linda Ham s attitude is a prime example of
that. She believed that she could not do anything about the problem and did not want to spend the
resources to pursue a solution. That is appalling. If I had taken the same attitude as her, then the

A Day At The Sherry Netherland Hotel
Our plan for having a fun and relaxing day at The Sherry Netherland Hotel in New York City
was perfectly planned out. We would head out to the pool, eat pizza, play in the arcade, and then
go explore the city. Here we are, two brothers, in a luxurious hotel, in the middle of a big city, what
could go wrong?
So, we set the alarm for 10am in hopes to be back in our hotel room by 8pm. We woke up the next
day excited to start the day. We noticed our dad was still sleeping. So we take the opportunity to
make a prank call to the front desk, now the employee at the front desk is suspicious of our prank
call. Once our dad woke up, he asked if we were excited for our day ahead of us. Immediately we

before someone steals it.
All of a sudden the elevator abruptly shook to a slow stop, making a screeching sound louder
than I ve ever heard. The shaking and abrupt stop caused everyone to fall on our feet. Trying to
regain my hearing from the deafening sound Dean exclaimed, what in the world was that!? I
don t think the elevator isn t moving anymore is it? Derek(me), Dean said, are we stuck here, I

Pretty Wom An American Romantic Comedy
Pretty Woman is an American romantic comedy produced in 1990 by Touchstone Pictures. In
the film, Vivian Ward, one of the central characters, works as a prostitute in Los Angeles,
California. Edward Lewis, a rich, businessman hires Vivian as an escort for a weeklong period,
to serve as his date to various functions and events. And over the course of the week, a
relationship between the two matures. Seeing that it focuses on the way in which a well to do,
handsome man saves and transforms a pitiable prostitute into a beautiful woman with class and
style, the movie is considered a modern day Cinderella story. Although the film has all of the
elements to be considered a wonderful love story, several issues can be identified and critiqued,
particularly those dealing with the portrayal of genderand sexual scripts.
Gender is defined as the state of being male or female. Gender consists of the assortment of
mental traits that differ between the sexes; thus, gender scripts are the behavior expectations
given to males and females. The characters in the movies either feed into or go against gender
scripts. Case in point, Edward is a wealthy businessman, and for that reason, his character feeds
into the gender script of men being breadwinners and guiders in patriarchal societies. For
instance, Edward is displayed as a savior, a hero of some sort, due to the fact that he takes Vivian
off the streets, hires her, and transforms her into a well rounded, respectable woman. Edward is also

Les Demoiselles D Avignon
Les Demoiselles d Avignon Les Demoiselles d Avignon (The Young Ladies of Avignon, and
originally titled The Brothel of Avignon) is a large oil painting of 1907 by the Spanish artist
Pablo Ruiz Picasso (1881 1973). The work portrays five nude female prostitutes from a brothel on
AvinyГі Street in Barcelona. Each figure is depicted in a disconcerting confrontational manner and
none are conventionally feminine. The women appear as slightly menacing and rendered with
angular and disjointed body shapes. Two are shown with African mask like faces and three more
with faces in the Iberian style of Picasso s native Spain, giving them a savage aura. In this

While he already had a considerable following by the middle of 1906, Picasso enjoyed further
success with his paintings of massive over sized nude women, monumental sculptural figures
that recalled the work of Paul Gauguin and showed his interest in primitive (African,
Micronesian, Native American) art. He began exhibiting his work in the galleries of Berthe
Weill (1865 1951) and Ambroise Vollard, (1866 1939) quickly gaining a growing reputation and
a following amongst the artistic community of Montparnasse. Picasso became a favorite of the
American art collectors Leo Stein (1872 1947), and his sister Gertrude Stein (1876 1946),
around 1905. The Steins older brother Michael and his wife Sarah also became collectors of his
work. Picasso painted portraits of both Gertrude Stein and her nephew Allan Stein.] Gertrude
Stein began acquiring Picasso s drawings and paintings and exhibiting them in her informal
Salon at her home in Paris. At one of her gatherings in 1905 he met Henri Matisse (1869 1954),
who was to become in those days his chief rival, although in later years a close friend. The Steins
introduced Picasso to Claribel Cone (1864 1929), and her sister Etta Cone (1870 1949), also
American art collectors, who began to acquire Picasso and Matisse s

Igm Memory Populations
For my experiment, I will be exploring the question of what is the ontogeny, or origination and
development, of IgM memory cells that exist within a mouse. In regards to ontogeny, a more
distinct question that can be asked is what B cell subset are the memory cells developed from,
whether it is marginal zone, follicular, or B 1 cells within the organism. My hypothesis is that the B
1 B cells give rise to the IgM memory population in mice infected with E. muris, a population that is
independent of T cell help and activation. Previous experiments have analyzed the bridge between
basic immunity and infectious disease. The infectious disease of our interest is that transmitted by
ehrlichia, which has the ability to cause a bacterial infection within an organism. These tick borne
pathogens generate an immune response within the infected organism. While it is the short term
immunity process that allows for the organism to defend itself against the pathogen, it is long term
production of immune system cells that protect the organism against potential future encounters.
IgM mediated immunity is developed over the course of an infection and previous work shows that
it remains in the system to help fight off future infections.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These B cells, after having been phenotyped, are found to express a cell surface marker known as
CD11c. While these cells have been labeled, it has yet to be determined what B cell lineage is
giving rise to these memory cells.
This cell surface marker of CD11c will allow us to distinguish the IgM memory population within
our mice, from other populations of cells that are produced by the immune system during its
response to the foreign antigen. Another indicator that will allow for us to know which cells are
those that have been transferred is through the use of a fluorescent tag known as enhanced yellow
fluorescent protein

  • 2. Psychodynamic Personality Theories Introduction: Personality is something every living, and mentally functioning human member of society has. Our personalities are made up of our behaviours and the way in which we think, feel and act no two people are exactly alike in personality. (Fletcher and Garton, 2015). Personality plays a major role in psychology as it is constantly being talked about in terms of developing it, measuring it and how it can influence the way we interact with others. Theorists have identified different traits and characteristics as a way to categorise different personality types. Within psychology there is three theories relating to Personality; humanistic, psychodynamic and trait. These perspectives were developed by different psychological theorists, in which this presentation we ll attempt to draw further into. In particular, this presentation will focus on humanistic and psychodynamic personality perspectives. (Fletcher and Garton, 2015) Theory 1: Freud s Psychodynamic View Psychodynamics is one of the three major personality perspectives and leads people to believe that human thoughts, feelings and actions are caused by a relationship between three elements of the mind the id, the ego and the super ego. Our minds are divided into three levels, conscious awareness, preconscious awareness and unconscious awareness. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As stated in (McLeod, 2013) Freud was one of the most influential people of the 20th century. Freud was responsible for the use of psychoanalysis, a way in which mental illnesses are often treated and patients were encouraged to talk freely about whatever was on their mind. This is typically where the idea of laying on couch and talking to a psychologist about one s mental health comes from Freud s famous couch and his use of analysing behaviour. Freud is one of the leading theorists of psychodynamics and had one of the major inputs into the ideas it was based on. (McLeod, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Aca Code Of Ethics Essay Which code(s) might cause you difficulties when you are a practicing counselor and why? Professional ethic codes designate the highest expectations of professional implications and describe the potential situations that we can face in practice. Instead of these great efforts, one booklet cannot include all we need when we encounter an ethical dilemma. Particularly, when the law and ethics code conflicts, ethical decision making become highly critical and problematic. According to me, one of the most challenging ethical dilemmas occurs while working with a minor client who demands for keeping her/his information confidential. As far as I concern, this might not be uncommon in the counseling field and ethical decision making does not seem to be easy. Besides the professional ethical codes, counselors have to know laws and consider the best interest of the client. As a general rule, parents and legal guardians are responsible for and have a right to be informed about their children until these children reach the age of eighteen. Although there are some exceptions, this is the general rule in the US and most of the countries around the world. Certainly, this is a reasonable rule especially if parents and legal guardians are supportive and cooperative with the therapist. ACA Code of ethics (2014) dealt with this issue with the codes of ... • 4. Art In The Age Of Mechanical Reproduction In order to properly argue my point it is best to lay out the framework of Benjamin s argument. Benjamin begins his essay, The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction by briefly distinguishing his categories from traditional aesthetic values, those of creativity and genius, eternal value and mystery (Benjamin, 218). In contrast, he relates these tendencies to bourgeois and fascist ideologies and to the conditions, inevitably generated out of capitalism itself, which provoke revolutionary demands in the politics of art (217 8) Benjamin claims that in times past the role of art has been to provide a magical foundation for the cult. Here the artwork s use value was located in its central position within ritual and religious tradition (223 4). A statue or idol conveyed a sense of authority, or magical power, which inhered in that particular historical artifact. The reproduction in mass of such an item would have been unthinkable because it was a unique singularity, and it would lose its aura . He focuses on describing the objects aura, defining the aura as: We define the aura of the later as the unique phenomenon of a distance, however close it may be. If, while resting on a summer afternoon, you follow with your eyes a mountain range on the horizon or a branch which casts its shadow over you, you experience the aura of those mountains, of that branch (222 3). The term implies an atmosphere and a transcendent feeling that happens when you experience an object. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Options for Production Systems Applicable to IAAS There are four broad options for production systems applicable to IAAS, namely: farm dams; pond culture; tank culture, and cage based culture. Production system design for any one integrated farming model is likely to fit into one of the following three categories: Extensive systems: characterized by ambient conditions, low stocking density and generally using existing infrastructure with little or no modification (e.g. farm dams) or management intervention (e.g. no supplementary feeding). Semi intensive systems: usually occurs in modified/constructed ponds, cages or tanks under ambient conditions with moderate stocking densities requiring management of water exchange, water quality and feeding regimes. Intensive systems: high stocking density, high levels of capital investment and reliant on complete control of water quality and feeding regimes under largely controlled environmental conditions. Ponds can vary greatly in size and depth, depending on site characteristics, but are generally 0.1 2.0 ha in area, 0.5 2.0 m deep and may have a sloping bottom from 0.5 m to 1.5 2.0m deep, draining to a harvesting sump (Ogburn et al. 1995). For this project the pondtype will be discussed, as the fish farm we selected is pond culture. There are different reasons affecting to the choice of the selection of farm. The main reason for choosing the Charly s Angels culture is that as the main goal of this thesis is to utilize water use of fishponds the largest water user farms ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Colonial Era To The Romantic Era As America sought to create their own literary voice following the Revolutionary War, the transition from the Colonial Era to the Romantic Era was a notable one, changing the voice of our country throughout the 19th century. Marked by themes of individualism, idealism, and being in touch with nature, Romanticismaltered both the art and writing of the time and has certainly left a lasting impact to this day. Key changes observed in the artwork of the time included the used of warmer color tones and portraits, such as the one discussed in our forum, featured women in a more relaxed position. • 8. Notes On The And Hiv Counselling NACP and HIV counselling NACP began in 1987, as an Indian health ministry initiated surveillance taskforce, after the first Indian HIV case was reported. Since then, it has extended its role to provide HIV services (IAVI, 2005; Singh et al., 2005). In 1992, the Indian Health Ministry set up the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) as a separate wing to implement and closely monitor various components of the programme (Singh et al., 2005; NACO, 2015b). Services provided under this programme trickle down to states and districts through their respective AIDS Control Societies supported by non governmental organisations (NGO). An integrated counselling and training centre (ICTC) is a place where VCT services are provided to the clients who are either referred or walk in voluntarily to the centre (NACO 2004). An ICTC links the client with a range of services such as family planning, financial access, treatment and care, legal support, community and peer support, employment services and even with spiritual support centres (NACO, 2006). Being diagnosed HIV positive and coming to terms with this knowledge has profound emotional, social, behavioural, and medical implications (Bharat, 2011; NACO, 2004). Counselling aims to support the HIV positive clients in understanding the disease; making them aware of their rights; and empowering them to lead a healthy life (Avert, 2014b; NACO, 2004). In India, most public health facilities have an ICTC, totalling 15,606 in number (Planning Commission, 2011), along with several stand alone, private and mobile ICTCs (NACO, 2004). An HIV counselling session is required to follow certain guidelines and code of ethics. The HIV counselling guidelines, laid down by WHO (2007), aim for a voluntary; non coercive; confidential; and cost effective approach to provide information, education, and communication (IEC) to the client, while the Unicef s code of ethics outlines the fundamental values of HIV counselling: integrity and ... • 9. Airline Ticket Prices Is The Foundation Of All Economic... Supply and demand, together, are the foundation of all economic ventures. Airline ticket prices are determined by the demand for travelers and the marginal cost of filling the seats; thus generating supply. The interception of supply and demand is where business is generated. This interception of the airlines pricing curves is indicated at their equilibrium point where there s neither a surplus nor a shortage. Why can an airlineticket from Casper, Wyoming to Denver, Colorado, and from Denver, Colorado to Orlando, Florida cost the same? Does this make economic sense? Where and when tickets are purchased affects the bottom line price the consumer pays. Price and value are extremely important in economicsthus; the effect of supply and demand, affects the overall cost of the ticket. Goals of Pricing Airline ticket prices can vary from day to day, from airline to airline; with the most important variable being competition. Industry pricing for a market of such a magnitude is a micro , and macro economic decision. Its affects will in turn effect the entire economy of the industry. We all know that when shopping for the cheapest price for an airline ticket, depending on various factors, Seaney (2011) you will pay hundreds of dollars more, or less, than the passenger seated right next to you. That being, the airlines primary goal is to maximize profit(s) on every seat, on every plane, on every route. This is the result of supply, demand, and price curve working cohesively ... • 10. Positive Role Models Are Those Who Possess The Qualities... Positive role models are those who possess the qualities that I would love to have and even improve on. They are those who have affected me in ways that make me want to be a better person in ways such as volunteering in the community. They help me to advocate for myself when I am falling short, help me on my steps to taking a leadership position, and even speak out on the issues that I feel strongly about. I often don t tend to recognize positive role models until I have noticed my own personal growth. Knowing that it really implies that it takes a positive role modelto know one. Some positive role models are teachers, clergy members, counselors and even friends. Throughout my life, I have had many teachers as positive role models. Some teachers teach right to the tests while others show real world examples and even visit the places that we are learning about and that is what stands out to me. Aubrey, my core teacher in Israel, really exemplifies this and is very committed and an amazing role model that really stands out. Aubrey taught the core curriculum I was a part of while studying in Israel. It is an intense study of Israel and 4,000 years of Jewish history. It comprises of many things such as engaging classroom study and even life changing trips to the sites where history took place. • 11. Essay about E Science Lab 9 Procedure 1 1) The substrate for this procedure was hydrogen peroxide. The enzyme used (contained in the yeast) would have most likely been catalase. 2) Yes, the rate of gas production increased as more yeast was added, since more enzyme was able to convert hydrogen peroxide more quickly. 3) Adding less enzyme caused the reaction to proceed more slowly than when more enzyme was utilized. 4) It is likely that the rate of reaction would increase as substrate is added. It will probably follow classical michaelis menten kinetics. See the attached picture for an example of this scheme for the rates (the picture of the hyperbola is the rate vs. the substrate concentration). 5) Hydrogen peroxide can be safely broken down into water ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For my negative controls I would run the reaction in several separate ways. First, omit the substrate (to make sure the enzyme is only acting on hydrogen peroxide and not something else in the mixture). Second, omit the enzyme (to make sure it s not self catalyzed breakdown). Third, I would incubate substrate with an unrelated protein like albumin (to make sure it s not just the presence of protein that mediates the breakdown of hydrogen peroxide). 6) See attached for the graph. Correlation appears to be negative with this data. It appears like the high temperature caused the enzyme to become denatured. Procedure 3 1) Amylase is utilized to break down starch molecules into more simple sugars for use by the body. It performs this function by hydrolyzing glycosidic linkages in the polysaccharide chain. 2) The control here was to use a solution containing no starch to show that it was the presence of starch itself that was needed for the reaction to proceed and not something inherent in the liquid or the towel itself. Saliva was used as a positive control for the presence of amylase. 3) Waiting 5 minutes allowed the enzymatic reaction to proceed for sufficient time and break down the starch. 4) I cannot answer this question with the information presented, but it should be pretty straightforward to say which foods

The Radical And The Republican The Radical and the Republican Paper The Radical and the Republican by author James Oakes is an account of two idols that conquest over struggle during a time of great crisis, solidified in a specialist historian s expertise of various writings on abolitionism, Abraham Lincoln, and the Civil War era. While Oakes is vigilant to dodge the evident dangers of hero worship, his compassion for both Lincoln and Douglass is evident throughout. Oakes received the Lincoln Prize for his work on this manuscript which was published in 2007. Oakes: an American historian, professor of history and graduate school humanities at the City University of New York, teaches history courses on the American Civil Warand Reconstruction, Slavery, the Old South, Abolitionismand U.S. and World History. Oakes taught previously at Princeton University and Northwestern University. Oakes keeps the reader hooked at every turn of the page by switching back and forth between Abraham Lincolns (republican); who pledged to the democratic ethics of the Declaration of Independence, in trying to attain a more perfect union, and his central role in progressing the cause of slave freedom, first by issuing the Emancipation Proclamation, following by giving full support to a constitutional amendment that would end slavery all together, and Fredrick Douglass (radical); who in turn began to temper his ethical tyranny with his own brand of hardheaded realism, concluding with their well known meetings in the White ... Examples Of Sacrifice In The Crucible Sacrifices, or the act of someone giving something up that usually has high value to them because of their consideration to something else, are often portrayed as drastic. They can even be something extremely small, like giving up peanut butter because a family member is allergic to it. People don t realize that they make small sacrifices for other people everyday for even the smallest of things. But as stated previously, sacrifices are often depicted as extreme, and in The Crucible by Arthur Miller, this is the case. In the play, sacrifices for loved ones are made constantly. • 15. Benefits Of United States Immigration Reform U.S Immigration Reform People are talking about immigration, emigration and the rest of those things. It s all freaking crap! We re all human beings, we re all mammals, we re all rocks, plants, rivers etc. Borders are just such a pain in the freaking arse. Shane MacGowan. The U.S immigration should make it easier for people across the borders to come here because, so many people can come here and make a better living for themselves. A better living for themselves are basically just living better. Being able to get by not have to go back to what they use to do. Being grateful that because the U.S immigration made it easier for them to come here, they are no longer struggling how they use too. I feel like U.S immigration should make it easier for foreigners to get into the United States because, it can make a better living for people that come from having nothing. Living on Islands other places across the borders can be hard them because they don t have everything we have here in the United States. Some people wake up with nothing could use help with the way they live so that they won t just give up on life. Not everyone lives great so why not try to help them. If congress purses reasonable requirements for those wanting to immigrate to America a majority of the American people will support them. ( Beeson) I also feel like should make it easier so that the people that do come here can help out their families back home also their country if they want too. Most people that come from over the borders they help out back home when they get up on their feet in the United States. Just like how we help our families here when they need things up here. I feel like just whatever we do here other people should be able to come here and do the same thing. Families who enter our country the right way and play by the rules watch others flout the rules. ( Obama) Another reason the U.S immigration should make it easier because, it will not only help them with jobs it will also help America with people more to work. Most likely people over the borders don t really have a good job. They people don t even make enough money, they just make enough to get by. They probably don t even make minimum. I m not ... Spain currently is a parliamentary representative democratic constitutional monarchy. Its branch of powers is separated in to two, where the executive power lies with the government and the legislative power is delegated to the Spanish parliament. Due to this structure it is very arduous for political figures in states and governments to abuse their power. The Prime Minister is initially nominated by the king where after he is required to obtain the vote of the lower house of parliament, and finally the king appoints the prime minister. More than 3.5 million people experience homelessness each year. And in 2013, there was a high of 2.5 million homeless children. But why should people care? People should care because if they ever went into foreclosure, they could be secure in knowing that they would still have a place to stay in and would not be forced to go on the streets. A solution to eliminating homelessness would be incorporating some socialism factors of government into our federal government. I consider this a sensible solution because our federal government has a double security system that prevents our government ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Definition Ice sphere cocktails, grenadine sirop caviar and disappearing transparent raviolis are all examples of Molecular gastronomy. This discipline is a mixture of physics and chemistry and is used to transform the taste and the texture of food. The most remarkable conflict came from branch managers and the chief inspectors, which had been finely noticed by EIIC s top officers. So the high employee turnover rate is caused by the current ineffective organisational structure of EIIC. • 23. The Roots Of Theoretical Constructs The roots of theoretical constructs of SNA in graph theory has led to the use of mathematical concepts being borrowed and built upon to suit its needs. As mentioned before, a graph is a collection of nodes, strung together by edges. Hence, to get from one node to the next, one needs to travel along the edges. The number of edges traversed to reach from one node to another forms the notion of distance in graphs. More specifically, the geodesic distance, d(u,v), between two nodes is defined as the length of the shortest path between them (Bouttier et al. 2003). The conceptualization of distance as the number of intermediate edges between nodes, capture the way nodes are embedded in the network (Hanneman Riddle 2005, p.77). In terms of a social systems, being friends with an important person is always beneficial, as it potentially makes you closer to many people in the network [Needs explanation?]. In SNA, the edges connecting two vertices are usually un weighted. However, in certain application scenarios, the edges may have weights associated with them to represent factors like strength of a tie, or probability of forming a tie, or in case of spatial social networks, the geographic distance between the nodes. The weights on the edges adds another layer to the conceptualization of distance, and the geodesic distance calculation then, needs to account for the weights of the edges. If there is no path connecting the two vertices, i.e., if they belong to different connected ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This also established a new idea of beauty that was achieved through harmony, symmetry and abiding by classical rules and styles. These rules helped some artists to create individuality and to experience greater artistic freedom. Brunelleschi s creation of new machinery was still impactful, but less so than the others. This beverage was first produced in the 1890s by Caleb Bradham in New Bern, North Carolina. The brand was first trademarked in 1903 and seeing that it is still around today in 2016 i would classify pepsi as a style. Besides sport being fun and providing exercise it has some not as obvious effects. Through sport you learn how to communicate and work together as a team to strive for a set goal. Communication and team collaboration is an important characteristic for anyone no matter their career field. For me, my sport experiences have taught me that sometimes you have to find a way to work with people that you do not necessarily like. It is unavoidable to always have only people you get along with on your team whether it is a sports team or a team at a job. Sport teaches many new lessons to children which initially are hard to understand but years later you look back and have that oh that is why moment. I only participated in tennis for one year as I did not enjoy it as much as I had hoped I would. They are places frozen in time authentic, eerie, and intriguing all in the same. Photographer and mixed media artist Samuel Quinn is one willing to break laws and trespass property in order to explore and capture these deserted wonders. In 2008, while in the South Shore driving his friend home, Quinn passed an eye catching abandoned white house that stood lifeless in between two simple suburban homes. Two years later, in need of a new project, he traveled back to the house and began taking photographs for his portfolio A Houses Echo, which, as he describes, holds portraits of a family who once lived in a house. It is a vacation photo taken by a family who once lived in the house. In it, we see a lake with a reflection traveling towards brownish black mountains topped with snow. Much of the wedding dress and the door are transparent, allowing the whole vacation photo to be visible. An antique light fixture accompanies a wide open doorway on the right wall. The picture plane is confined to a relatively small space. It is mostly made up of straight lines, the majority of them being vertical or horizontal. The lines of the stair railing and the right and left walls create a directional force traveling from the foreground to the background. While observing the print, viewers will be able to notice a pattern of rectangles repeating throughout the image. There appears to be a monochromatic color scheme, based on the distribution of varying shades of white, along with the brown railing, ceiling wood, and stain in the lower corner of the right wall. This could also be considered a neutral color scheme. In Untitled 5 , viewers see the interior corner of a room on the upper floor of the abandoned house. As with all of his photographs, Quinn staged this scene. He discovered three wooden picture frames lying on the floor and positioned them on the adjacent green walls that face the viewers. ... This is what he refers to as little g globalization. These global interconnections reveal the ties and tensions of globalization. There is also big G globalization which is what Sparke calls using globalization as a buzzword in a political context. A big part of globalization is commodities and commodity chains. A commodity can be simply defined as anything that is bought or sold while a commodity chain is the production process that produces these commodities. Understanding commodities and commodity chains is important to be able to understand globalization. One example of how commodities demonstrate globalization is outsourcing and offshoring. By doing this, companies bring their companies overseas which means that they are interconnected with other parts of the world. Understanding commodity chains can also allow you to understand the ties and tensions. I decided to focus on the apparel industry and the commodity of a piece of clothing. This commodity shows some of the tensions related to labor, like constantly searching for the cheapest labor, and tensions related to the environment, like pollution from the clothing industry. Much like tens of thousands of years ago, religion is still a central component of our lives today. Some of the most popular religions today are Christianity and Judaism, both based on the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible and both based in the Near East. Because of cultural assimilation within the region, it would only be logical for the religions of today to share some similarities of those established in Ancient Mesopotamia. One of the most famous lines of the Bible takes place in Genesis 1:1, which states In the beginning God created the heavens and earth. This line is much like a similar creation myth from the Sumerians where Marduk creates the heavens and earth by using the body of the slain goddess Tiamut who personified watery chaos, proceeded to create the universe by dividing Tiamat in two, one part becoming the heavens and the other the earth with her breasts as mountains. In the film, Vivian Ward, one of the central characters, works as a prostitute in Los Angeles, California. Edward Lewis, a rich, businessman hires Vivian as an escort for a weeklong period, to serve as his date to various functions and events. And over the course of the week, a relationship between the two matures. Seeing that it focuses on the way in which a well to do, handsome man saves and transforms a pitiable prostitute into a beautiful woman with class and style, the movie is considered a modern day Cinderella story. Although the film has all of the elements to be considered a wonderful love story, several issues can be identified and critiqued, particularly those dealing with the portrayal of genderand sexual scripts. Gender is defined as the state of being male or female. Gender consists of the assortment of mental traits that differ between the sexes; thus, gender scripts are the behavior expectations given to males and females. The characters in the movies either feed into or go against gender scripts. Case in point, Edward is a wealthy businessman, and for that reason, his character feeds into the gender script of men being breadwinners and guiders in patriarchal societies. In regards to ontogeny, a more distinct question that can be asked is what B cell subset are the memory cells developed from, whether it is marginal zone, follicular, or B 1 cells within the organism. My hypothesis is that the B 1 B cells give rise to the IgM memory population in mice infected with E. muris, a population that is independent of T cell help and activation. Previous experiments have analyzed the bridge between basic immunity and infectious disease. The infectious disease of our interest is that transmitted by ehrlichia, which has the ability to cause a bacterial infection within an organism. These tick borne pathogens generate an immune response within the infected organism. While it is the short term immunity process that allows for the organism to defend itself against the pathogen, it is long term production of immune system cells that protect the organism against potential future encounters. IgM mediated immunity is developed over the course of an infection and previous work shows that it remains in the system to help fight off future infections....
