Mr Sowell Why Should Drugs Be Legal Summary
Do you think Mr. Sewell was right or wrong in this video?
To answer the question Do I think that Mr. Sowell was right or wrong in his video? Legalizing drugs
has been such a controversial subject for years and still is today regarding legalization of drugs. As it
has been with most controversial subjects there are pros and cons to address within this issue.
In the video Why Should Drugs Be Legal, Mr. Sowell speaks on the legalization of banned drugs as
being a trade off rather than a solution to the drug problem. He also talks about the failure on
legalizing the status of drugs to reduce their existence and how the crusading mentality of law
enforcement does nothing positive in eradicating drug use. It will only increase the drug

Robert Levenson Essay
For Dr. John Gottmann his successful research and discoveries began 35 years ago with the help of his
friend Robert Levenson. They began the research by building a laboratory where couples would attend
and speak with each other after a long workday deprived from each other. While the couples spoke
their heart rate, their blood velocity, the amount of sweat produced on the palm of their hands, and
even the movement they produced while being seated were being measured. The conversations the
couples had consisted of a subject that caused unceasing conflict between them and then a positive
subject, after their conversations their videotapes would be shown to the couple and were asked about
particular moments in the conversation and what they felt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the recipients of repair are those who intend to repair or resolve the issue. The repair can
only work between the couple depending on the amount of intimacy and friendship that already exists
in the relationship. These two factors are then be used to build the first stage of what they call a love
map. One of the fundamental characteristics of the friendship between two individuals is the intimate
open ended questions asked by this person and the memorization of the answers. Another
characteristic witnessed in the laboratory was the attention given to the partner speaking, for example
results showed that those partners who paid more attention to their partner while he was trying to
communicate or make a joke were those who continued to be married for a longer period of time.
Overall it can all be summarized in seven steps that will allow a relationship to flourish, and those are:
enhance your love map, nurture fondness and admiration, this means that it is imperative to be able to
remind yourself about the worthiness your partner possesses. The third step is turning toward each
other, by giving your partner the attention they crave you are acknowledging their presence and
making them feel how important they are to you. The fourth step is to let your partner influence you,
by giving each other the respect in decision making for a happy marriage, it

Child Custody Issues In Family Law
The field of family law governs all types of interactions within the family. One area of family law that
may be important to many is child custody. Child custody determines the rights of both parents to not
only visit with children, but also make important decisions in the child s life. Many people might not
be aware that there are two different and important aspects to child custody: legal custody and
physical custody. Legal custody refers to the parent s decision making authority for important
decisions in the child s life. Such decisions include education, medical care, and religious upbringing.
Physical custody refers to where the child resides.
In many cases, throughout the divorce process, the parents might have come up with their own
parental custody agreement. These agreements are typically ratified by the courts, but courts are not
bound by these agreements and may reject these agreements. Courts are not bound by parental
agreements because the courts have an independent responsibility to determine what arrangement is
best for the child s welfare. Allowing courts to have the power to reject parental agreements is
important to the court s ability to determine what is in the child s best interest and create custody
arrangements that are best for the child. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This first option is for one parent to have sole physical and legal custody while the other parent will
have visitation, or access, rights. Usually, with sole custody, legal and physical custody will not be
split. If one parent has sole custody, he or she will typically have sole legal and physical custody.
However, sole custody comes with certain limitations. An example of these limitations is that both
parents are prohibited from belittling, or bad mouthing, the other

Advertisers Targeting Children in Asia
Several advertiser watercourse their work through the television with the intention of targeting certain

Post Revolutionary America By Rosemarie Zagarri
The story of post revolutionary America, writes Rosemarie Zagarri, is the story of how American
women and men sought to define and ultimately to limit and restrict the expansive ideals they had so
successfully deployed against Britain. In this excerpt from Revolutionary Backlash, Zagarri depicts
the extreme radicalism of the American Revolution, while also suggesting that there were some
constraints to its extremism. Unlike the normal way of life in European government and society,
Americans desired a nation in which the inherent rights and freedoms of individuals were recognized
and respected. While these rights and freedoms were ultimately achieved, many groups of people were
still left out. Women of all kinds, people of color, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since the concept that only wealthy white men are free individuals was a common idea in European
customs, many people argue that the American Revolution was not radical in terms of Locke s theory.
Despite his inclusion of property within his argument, Locke still contends for the natural rights of all
individuals. He does not include the right to own property with the intentions of excluding women,
colored people, or poor men. Locke s meaning is not that only people with property have natural
rights; instead, he includes the term property to claim that individuals of every race, class, and
background have the right to ownership, just as all individuals have the right to life and liberty. Locke
s idea is notably different from the normal concepts about liberty that encompassed European culture
during that time. Therefore, in regards to Locke s theory, the American Revolution was radical. In
addition, the way in which gender roles were altered during the American Revolution provides
evidence of its radicalism. Traditionally, women of any color had no place within the realms of
politics in European culture. Strictly white men of wealth were allowed to participate in government
activities. Zagarri points out that the American Revolution triggered a continuing argument over the
rights of upper class white women in American culture and their

Mcdonald s The International Market Essay
Nowadays, we can see that there are so many companies that have grown globally and being so
successful in the international market. What makes most of the companies can be as successful as
today was not just only because of their products reputation, but also about how can those companies
develop themselves by internationalized the companies in the international market. One example of a
successful company that we can use in this case is McDonald s, which people can find this fast food
company around the world. Founded in 1940 by Richard and Maurice McDonald, this company
recently has more than 30,000 stores that can be found in more than 118 countries (James, 2009). The
simple idea of using fast food serving system as McDonald s priority made this company developed
widely. As a fact, McDonald s idea was also solved the problem of preventing people to wait for a
long time while waiting for their food in California, where McDonald s firstly opened (Success Story,
2016). Yet, all those successful things that McDonald s has recently will be possible without doing any
effort to globalize itself in the wider and global market. There are also some risks that McDonald s has
to take in order to be as successful as today. Thus, this essay will explain about how McDonald s
internationalizes itself and what are the factors that make McDonald s globalizes internationally. First
of all, before explaining about how McDonald s internationalizes itself, this essay will explain what

solution was used to neutralized negative charges and heat sock was done to traumatize the cell

from the agar plate which describes the affect that plasmid had on the each. First, with the LB c, LB

because of the presence of Ampicillin and no plasmid to make the antibiotic resistant. As well lux

results in the no growth exhibition was the amount of reagent from the pipette and the measurements

Reflection On Pubic Speaking
From the beginning of the past eight weeks to the end, my pubic speaking capabilities have change
dramatically. In the beginning of the semester on the first day I was incredibly nervous, so when I
walked up to the front of the class with my desk mate, I was shaking, sweating, and could feel my
heartbeat. Extremely shy, scared of my classmates and professor judging me or thinking less of me
because I could barely say one word without getting a lump in my throat. I could barely lift my eyes
from my paper and gaze on the daunting eyes that were staring. Those couple minutes of our first
speech talking about our desk mate felt like hours, I could not catch my breath and was ready to run
out of the class. After the first day I was so mentally exhausted from being anxious and was
immensely stressed that I would not do well in the class. The stress and worry was doubled when I
heard about the background of our professor, since I did not want to do poorly in a professor s class
that I highly respected. Thankfully, I stuck in the course and did not run away, and with every class
public speaking became easier and less taxing, especially in small groups. The practices and folders of
information, aided the process and confidence when speaking. Getting to know my classmates made
the course extremely fun and less stressful because I knew they were only here to help and not hurt.
The student critiques gave me confidence and made my speeches higher quality and the only time the

Capital Market Imperfections in Emerging Economies
Capital market imperfection generally refers the capital available at below market rates for a certain
time period and this result in creating disequilibrium in the capital market. Market imperfections in
emerging economies such as China may be transformed into ownership advantages (Buckley, 2004)
and this may be emerged from a number of interrelated imperfections listed below: 1) State owned
enterprises (SOEs) may have capital possibly in forms of soft budget constraints which made available
to them at below the market rates (Warner et al., 2004) 2) Banking systems are inefficient which it
allows to make soft loans to potential outward investors (Warner et al., 2004; Antkiewicz and Whalley,
2006). 3) Many Chinese conglomerate firms may operate an inefficient internal capital market and
effectively subsidize FDI (Liu, 2005). 4) Family owned firms tend to have easier access to cheap
capitals through family members (Child and Pleister, 2003; Erdener and Shapiro, 2005) These
imperfections in the capital market may all exist in China. According to Tong (2002), soft budget
constraint is regarded as a common phenomenon in socialist economy. It is generally resulted from
inefficient operations. Inefficient Chinese firms survive in general and they contribute the soft budget
constraints promoted by local government and party officials (Lardy, 1998). Chinese enterprises make
acquisitions to enter and penetrate a host economy by using state sponsored soft budget constraints

Role Of Customs And Border Protection
1 What is the role of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in securing trade in maritime ports? The
role of the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is to ensure all goods and people coming into the
United States lawful and keeping contraband and WMD out of the United States. Additionally
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is responsible for international trade in and out of the United
States. The policies and enforcement of the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) can make or break

2 The Global Transportation System (GTS) has a big impact on just about every aspect of our daily
life. Certainly, Port Management Security is well aware of the economic impact and the threat of
disruption to the GTS. What are the four components of the GTS (air, sea, land, and rail transport
systems) and what are the subsequent critical infrastructure within each that support these components
of the GTS. The Global Transportation System (GTS) touches every aspect of human life. From the
food we eat to the clothes we wear, they are all moved within the Global Transportation System GTS.
Passenger travel from continent to continent using the Global Transportation System GTS. Even
troops and equipment for war is moved within the GTS. Simply without the GTS and its four

size of the GTS has continue to grow due to more business operating now on a global scale. In
addition, free trade through numerous agreements has open up opportunities worldwide. With the
amount of goods and people being moved, be able to secure port either air or surface becomes that

Chesapeake Shores
Even though your series Chesapeake Shores has come to an end as far as a book series goes, will you
ever consider writing any more books in that series? Well, I ll consider anything. At this moment, I m
not planning to write any more in that series. And as far as that impacts the TV show, amazingly, we
got through the entire first season, and we haven t even finished book one. So we ve got a long way to
go before we would empty out the coffers of the books. That s why I certainly hope it goes on cause
we ve got lots of characters I hope we get to. There are little bits from books two and three that got
pulled into the first season. The TV show also allows us to dig deeper into storylines that are in the
background of the books. Just an example, we know Abby works in this company in New York and
she makes her decision to come back to Chesapeake Shores. But that whole story of her life in New
York is a story that we can explore a little bit more. So that s one thing about the TV show that is kind
of exciting that it allows us to take a deeper look as opposed to a more superficial look at certain
aspects of the book and kind of enrich it. And certainly, as I said before, it goes off ... Show more

this point. The emotional depth and because of what is going on between those particular characters I
thought was a really strong book. The other one, again which we re not going to get to any time soon

The Reproductive Rights Of Women
The reproductive rights of women have always been a hotly debated topic between those who support
a women s right to an abortion and those who vehemently oppose it. The United States Supreme Court
ruled in the landmark case Roe vs. Wade that it was legally a woman s right to have an abortion in
1973, and clearly outlines that states cannot pass laws that create an undue burden for women who
choose to exercise their rights and terminate their pregnancy. Since then, there have been consistent
challenges from many states along with pro life organizations all over the country to find ways to limit
and to control the reproductive rights of women. In 1992, even though the ruling of Roe vs. Wade was
confirmed in the case of Planned Parenthood vs. Casey, the Supreme Court also ruled that states can
create regulations to limit abortions in order to protect the safety and health of the mother and the life
of the unborn fetus. The outcome has resulted in several traditionally conservative states including
Arkansas, Texas, North Dakota and Indiana passing laws that are cleverly disguised as rules to protect
women, but ultimately makes it extremely difficult if not all together impossible for women to seek a
legal abortion.
On March 2nd, 2016, the state of Texas, a state that already has some of the toughest abortion laws in
the United States of America, had one of its most controversial bills Senate Bill 2, also known as
House Bill 2 or HB2, challenged by the case Whole Woman s Health

The Flynn Effect And Nutrition
Nutrition, the Flynn Effect, and Substance Abuse
Carly Gottsponer

Korey Davis
September 17, 2017
The Flynn Effect is the tendency of IQ scores to change over time, and specifically, the apparent
increase in intelligence in the general population evidenced by a steady increase in IQ scores. It was
first noticed by James Flynn (The Flynn Effect). As years went by and IQ tests were restandardized, it
was noticed that when previous tests were taken the outcomes were better on the previous tests than
the tests that were in current circulation. The Flynn Effect has a number of factors that can attribute to
the effect taking place. One factor in particular that has been discussed by many different people is the
factor of overall better nutrition. Overall better nutrition has occurred in many places over the last 100
years or so. This improvement has been linked to head growth, earlier maturation of children,
increased height, and faster growth (Williams). Increased head growth most likely means that human
brains are growing which can subsequently be linked to the increased intelligence that is proven by IQ
scores. The earlier maturation and faster growth of children can also be linked to how a population s
intelligence improves over many years. The Flynn Effect and nutrition are related through the
correlation of increased intelligence and increased overall nutrition. The effects of the Flynn effect on
nutrition and vice versa are extensive. The

1943 Personal Narrative
Times like the year 1943, were never talked about in my family. 1943 was 60 years before I was born,
yet if you bring up that time, you would be hushed by your mother and told to be quiet. But why?
Nobody in the family even knew why. Well, except my great grandfather, Joseph G. Koch. He lived it.
Saw it. Smelled it. The odor of burned flesh was strong, he said. 2008 was the year when everything
changed in the family. The code was cracked. The silence was broken. The secret was out. That was
the year my twit headed uncle put himself to good use, and asked my Great Grandfather about the
importance of 1943 and what it meant to him. This was the first time anything was talked about. The

He never forgot the sights, sounds and smells of the hospital during that time. Those dates were the
dates of the infamous Battle of the Bulge! During that particular battle many of the soldiers were

soldiers. The loss of lives was devastating! The injuries were horrific.
During this time, as wounded and deceased soldiers arrived at the hospital in England, Joe was forever

flesh filled the nostrils of the medical staff. The painful wailing of the injured, suffering from horrific

Why Is Nathaniel Hawthorne Considered Gothic
Nathaniel Hawthorne
Nathaniel Hawthorne was a talented dark romantic that got to many readers minds questioning their
surroundings and peoples inner sin. All though he writes in prose, he belongs amongst the poets (

he did. He s most known for his short stories and novels. Lots of Nathaniel s work was considered
gothic. He also wrote romance novels. Hawthorne was in the habit of taking solitary rambles after
dark, an owlish practice, but very attractive to the romantic minds. Human nature appears in more

Having A System In Twelve Angry, By Reginald Rose
What is the point of having a system if it has faults to it? A family friend was being held at the adult
detention center. His family was not able to hire a lawyer for him at the time, so a lawyer was
appointed to him. The problem with his appointed lawyer was that he didn t speak Spanish and the
family friend didn t speak English, therefore there was no way of communication. The lawyer did not
find out anything about his case, he didn t find out whether or not he had a work permit or a visa,
which he did but had been expired. The attorney appointed to him just said, Sign the papers and you ll
be released here. The family friend just did what the lawyer said because he thought he was helping
him, not creating a bigger problem. Now, he is fighting to stay here where he has built a life with his
wife and kids. Again, what is the point of having a system if it has faults to it? Problems in the system
have been present since about the 1930s or 1940s and are still present to this day, it may not have as
many faults however some are still present. The play, Twelve Angry Men, written by Reginald Rose,
is about a kid on trial who is accused of murdering his father. Testimonies given by neighbors are
raising questions among the jurors. A lady from across the railroad tracks claims she saw the kid
murder her father, she, however uses glasses and wouldn t be able to see anything without them. A

at passages from different angles and perspectives. Consequently, a conclusion must be made that one
can not put ancient literature into a neat and tidy this is what the Bible is saying so it must be true box.
There are many parts of the Hebrew Bible that are strange to read. If many were lived out today, it
would ostracize people, and to be blunt, land someone in prison. However, all of these passages are
included in this great book, the Hebrew Bible, for a reason. They were important to the Jewish culture
whom they were written for. Why were they important to the Jewish culture in the Ancient Near East
World? Can they bring value to us today? Is it possible to accurately declare that everything in the
Hebrew Bible can be exegetically figured out , with no unanswered questions, or unresolved
mysteries? Of course not. By asking questions, challenging preconceived notions, and examining
whether passages in the Hebrew Bible are mythological or fact, one is not agreeing to a predetermined
diminishment of personal spiritual and faith principles derived from the Scriptures. Overall, this book
provides a thoughtful approach to introducing readers to the Historical Critical method, how to utilize
it when studying the Hebrew Bible, and why it will bring greater value to those learning from the
Scriptures. Consideration is clearly made for the certainty that

Baseball And The Game Of Baseball
Baseball to most it just a simple game that involves one just throwing a ball, another hitting it, and
then another catching it, but it s much more than that. The ability to hit a baseball three hundred plus
feet, that s coming at you at speeds greater than 85 mph, is hard to attain. Now imagine trying to catch
a ball that s coming at the same speeds, not so easy now right? Apart from the physical abilities
needed to play, the mental part of the game is also important. The game of baseball is similar to life if
you re not prepared physically and mentally to go about your business you won t succeed.
I ve been playing baseball since I let out my first cries. For me baseball is a battleground. The side that
is better prepared and executes well is the one who usually wins. Just like how you don t go out to war
without any training, the same goes for baseball you don t go and just play baseball. Practice in
general is important for anything that you do; it allows you to experience a situation during a time
where it s not important. I can t recall a time where I didn t practice and performed during a game.
Baseball has taught me that if I want to succeed you have to prepare yourself. It doesn t just happen.
In terms of school, imagine going to take an exam without sort of studying you won t do so well.
Apart from practice, which prepares you physically, if you re not mentally right, you won t do so well.

The Controversy Of Diaspora
The debate on Diaspora has been an ever going debate that has transformed itself with time. The real
meaning of the term diaspora has with time somewhere now eroded and become a more of an
individual subjective word whose meaning and interjections vary from person to person. The original
word comes from Greek word διασπορά which means scattering, dispersion and which described the
emigration of Greeks to colonise and assimilate a recently conquered territory. Later, the term was
referred to a scattered population whose origin lies within a smaller geographic locale. It is also
referred to the movement of the population from its original homeland. In today s parlance, Diaspora
has come to refer particularly to historical mass dispersions of an involuntary nature, such as the
expulsion of Jews from Judea, the fleeing of Greeks after the fall of Constantinople, the African ...

Such meanings often bring the images of pain, grief, torture, political, social and psychological
pressure on the population undergoing this process of forced migration. But with time, the life
experiences and work of people for whom diaspora is no longer as tragic as it was for the earlier
generations, the word now seems to be in the process of redefinition. This paper gives an optimistic
approach to the redefinition of the word diaspora . It will discuss what are the common viewpoints
shared in the world about Diaspora, what can be the possible other side of the situation(the positive
approach), how is twenty first century diaspora different and finally it will also highlight how a twenty
first century migrant can make diaspora a successful life changing experience by accepting the dual

Bread Givers, By Anzia Yezierska
In Bread Givers by Anzia Yezierska Sara is growing up as a Jewish immigrant migrated from Russia.
From a young age she has only wanted to support herself and her family. As she grows older she
begins to aspire to be something . What that something is seems unclear even to Sara. Sara is so
unsure of what she hungers for that multiple points can be argued. Some may say she hungers for
money because of the way her family has always had to scrape for pennies just to survive. Some may
argue she quests for freedom because she runs away from her family. These are decent analysis but
they do not dive as deep as they should. Sara s aspirations are so much more than just money to buy
more clothes or just freedom from her family. Sara is an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

married off to a man who will pay father. When father talks about Bessie he only sees her as an object
of his own survival Don t forget when she gets married, who ll carry me the burden from this house?
She earns me the biggest wages (45). In the text father hardly mentions Sara because he is so focused
on marrying off his other daughters. He does not see Sara because in her current age she is of little use
to him. Even though Bessie earned him the biggest wages on her own she still is not seen as having
optimal use without a man. When she refuses to marry Zalmon father angrily says, So this is the
thanks for all I ve done for you (98). It says a great deal that father believes he has done her a favor by
finding her a husband even though she seemed to have brought home a decent amount of money from
working in the shop. It says in the Torah: What s a woman without a man? Less than nothing a blotted
out existence. No life on earth and no hope in heaven (205). The way her father has always looked at
her and her sisters has made her determined to get his acknowledgment in particular. He refers to a
woman as a blotted out , something that is blotted out cannot be seen. Sara believes that she does not

A Place to Stand Essay
Can words change person s thoughts from desperation, violence, to peace and normality within a
dehumanizing prison? Some prisoners spending short to long term sentenced, sometimes lose
themselves in a world of violence and become worse off when coming into the prison system, than
how they used to be before prison life. Trying to hold on to any bit of sanity or respect for humanity
becomes an everyday struggle. Sometimes the smallest thing can help prevent the feeling, of going
over that edge of no return from a dreadfulness act of death.

Evaluate The Closet Analysis
Evacuate the Closet Our lives are a kaleidoscope of vivid memories and experiences. There are good
memories we relive over and over in our heads; there are brutal ones we wish we could forget. Over
time, these experiences become a part of who we are, whether we like it or not. Therein lies a forked
road. Do we make the most of the situation and move on, or do we dwell on the past and choose a path
of embitterment? For all my life, I have considered myself as a sort of oddity. I didn t speak English
for most of primary school. My customs were different from my American classmates. Being different
became the norm for me; I wasn t really bothered by it. I learned to overcome all the little sarcastic
comments made by the other children in school. For the most part, everything was okay. Everything
was okay until I started my junior year of high school. By the beginning of my junior year, I knew that

research, I pulled out passages condemning every day actions as sins; this only seemed to incense her
more. That night, I went to sleep emotionally exhausted. It felt as if my world and family was falling
apart. As time went by, I discovered that I had misinterpreted my mom s anger. The nightly tears she
shed in what she thought was secret, revealed to me that she wasn t angry; she was extremely worried

Reflection On The Inclusion Improvement Plan
Reflection is an important part of the planning process. Ongoing learning and reflective practice is one
of the five principles of the early years learning Framework (DEEWR, 2010. p. 7). It gives the
educators an opportunity to look at the planning process, the successful areas of planning, the areas of
improvement and progress and to get motivated to work better for the learning of children. The
following reflection will highlight the merits of implementing the inclusion improvement plan, some
of the issues that impact on educators capacity to provide an inclusive care environment and how can
the educators manage the competing demands of inclusion of children with additional needs, with the
demands of providing an inclusive environment for all children.
The inclusion improvement plan for Joshua caters to his special needs to a large extent. For example,
Joshua is a child with autism. The term autism loosely groups a range of spectrums that share the
characteristics of difficulties in socialisation, communication and repetitive and restricted behaviour
(EDU 30005, 2016). Children with special needs were not considered to be a part of the education
system and were being labeled as gifted or handicapped. However, with the change in the societies,
the concept of disability has also changed. As Winzer (2007) argues, although there have always been
differences in a society, the construct and implications of what it means to be normal vary as the
society changes and

How The Rules Of Tennis
How to learn the rules of tennis. Tennis started out around 1000 A.D . The game aroused more
popularity around 1625 in England . The game has changed so much after 1625. It is completely
different today. The ball is bouncier, and the racquets have changed also. The rules of tennis can be
complicated to learn at first. There are three basic steps to the rules. Understanding the score, when a
ball is in or out, and the differences between singles and doubles. The score of tennis can be difficult
to remember, even for players that have played a long time. Every game has at least 4 points. A set has
at least 6 games. The match has at least 2 sets. The player must win two sets to win the match. The
game starts out on the right side of the court. On every point, the serve changes sides of the baseline.
The point value of the first serve for the game starts out at love love. The server s score is always the
first to be announced. The server has two tries every point to land the ball on the other side of the net
for the point to start the volley. If both serves fail to make it on the other side of the court, it is called a
double fault. That point would be given to the other player. Each game starts out at 0 0. After that the
points can change to 15 0, 15 15 or 30 0, 40 15 or 30 30, game or 40 30, game or deuce, advantage
server, advantage receiver, game or deuce. The game can continue in deuce until either player wins
two points in a row. In order to win the set 6 games need to

Global Value Chains And Its Impact On The World Economy
Modern production is increasingly growing around the so called global value chains. According to
World Trade Report for 2014, they are one of the main trends in modern economy and trade. Their
growth in the last two decades have not only significantly change the nature of the world economy,
but also had a strong influence on individual countries. However, the extent and nature of these effects
are still not well understood by experts.
Typically the value chain include the steps of: design, production, marketing, distribution and after
sales customer service. These steps may exist within the same company and shared between many
firms. The fact that a growing number settles in various countries indicates the globalization of value
chains. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Understanding the functioning of the administrative structures needed to assess the impact of
economic policy on businesses and the location of production.
The concept of global value chains was born back in the 1970s. This could be classified as commodity
chains . The main idea of this chains is to trace the transformation of the entire set of source materials
and the cost of products and turning them into a final product consumption. Later, the global supply
chains were traced on the example of garments ranging from raw materials (cotton, wool, synthetic
fibers) and ending with the final product (clothing).
In the 2000s, there was a transformation of the concept of global commodity chains in the concept of
global value chains. The second concept is trying to determine the most important factors of the
organization of global industries, it offers a theoretical basis and practical tools to analyze value chains
and different types of management. The idea of the value chain has been proposed by Michael Porter
in his book Competitive Advantage to identify the sources of competitive advantage through analysis
of certain types of activity of the company. In foreign economic literature makes a clear distinction
between the chains, initiated by producers and buyers. Value chain divides the company s operations
in the strategically important activities to examine the costs and existing and possible means of
differentiation. The competitive

Security Issues in International Relations Are Best...
Security Issues are Most Effectively Addressed by a Neo Realist Approach to International Relations.
Discuss.
Security has been the source for much debate within International Relations; ranging from the
optimum way to provide security, through to the definition of security itself. Neo Realism has, in the
past, been the dominant approach to security issues within International Relations. However, in the
past few decades events such as the end of the Cold War, international terrorism and globalisation
have dramatically changed the world, which has only intensified the debate over which approach most
effectively addresses security issues within International Relations. This essay seeks to argue that
although, at one time it may have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Neo liberals are prepared to go to war but it is generally accepted as a last resort, with the use of
economic sanctions the preferred security method; the belief of peace via co operation. Neo liberals
view sanctions as a means of preventing a rogue state from violating the international norms (Martin,
1992). The neo liberal understanding of the international community lies within increasing
interconnectedness and the utility of international institutions such as the EU and UN. The security of
Israel has weakened in recent years due to threat posed by Iran and their suspected research into the
development of nuclear weapons. In 2005 the EU imposed trade sanctions on Iran due to resuming of
nuclear activities (European Commission, 2012). A form of collective security occurs when all states
stand to lose something from war; collective insecurity leads to security. Kant would argue that even
though the international system is anarchic, alliances and treaties still exist as a form of power and
security. Buzan (1991) takes this further stating that although economic activity can generate many
different factions within in a state, the international economy itself becomes powerfully tied together
trade, finance and communication.
As previously mentioned, neo realists place an emphasis upon security via military power, and whilst
there is no denying that military security is

Taking a Closer Look at a CPU
Although many people are computer nerds; many people do not know what a CPU is; or what it does.
A computer has many parts that make up the hardware, and the software; enabling it to function
correctly. One of the main components that a computer needs to work is a Central Processing Unit
also known as the microprocessor. The central processing unit includes all the computers main parts,
and is the basic part of the computer. The CPU is responsible for executing out tasks, and running the
software. The software runs on programs that are translated into number codes made up of 1s and 0s
that the central processing unit can understand. Each code that is executed means a certain operation
should take place. A CPU serves for four functions; Fetch, Decode, Execute, and write back these
functions are the four primary ones. Other functions that follow are the Arithmetic and logic unit, as
well as the Memory access.
In the first step of dealing with a CPU the fetch function is up first. The fetch function involves
retrieving information that it needs to run from the program memory, and basically giving it
instructions which is put in by a number of a whole line of them from the memory. Wherever the
memory may be is determined by the (PC) which is also known as the program counter. The PC stores
a number that can keep track of the current place in the program. When the instruction is fetched the
Program Counter is then inputted by the length of the instruction in word terms of the

In Flight Breakup During Test Flight Scaled Composites SpaceShipTwo N339SS Near Koehn Dry
Lake, California October 31, 2014
On October 31, 2014 at 1007:32 Pacific Daylight Time Scaled Composites SpaceShipTwo reusable
suborbital rocket N339SS broke up into multiple pieces during a test flight over the Mojave Dessert.
The pilot Peter Siebold managed to survive however the co pilot Michael Alsbury died. The primary
reason for this test flight included conducting a 38 second burn to test the new hybrid motor which
used a nylon fuel grain and nitrous oxide to generate thrust, and a feathered reentry that was to be at a
speed of Mach 1.2 (NTSB) The mission for SpaceShipTwo consisted of an air drop from

This callout was to alert the pilot of a transonic bobble would occur as the vehicle accelerated through
the transonic region and became supersonic. The next step was to unlock the feather by moving the
feather lock handle from the locked to unlocked position when SpaceShipTwo reached a speed of
Mach 1.4. (NTSB) The copilot did not heed the instructions of the pilot to unlock the feather. The
cockpit image recorder showed that 0.5 seconds after making the Mach 0.8 callout the copilot started
to unlock the feather at approximately Mach 0.82. Because of this premature movement of the feather
locking system, the large lifting force (keeping the feather extended) generated by the tail,
overpowered the resistance capability of the feather actuators (keeping the feather retracted),
essentially folding the fuselage over the tailboom. The pilot, age 43 held a flight instructor certificate,
commercial pilot certificate, with ratings for airplane single engine and multiengine land, instrument
airplane, and glider. He held FAA authorization to operate the SpaceShipOne, SpaceShipTwo, Proteus
and White Knight Two experimental aircraft as the pilot in command. The pilot held a second class
medical certificate with no limitations. The pilot was hired by Scaled Composites in December 1996
as a design engineer. (NTSB) He had been a test pilot for the SpaceShipOne program. The pilot

Women s Influence On Society Essay
In today s society, there is often a misconception among women and men and the roles they are
expected to follow through with. Although there has been advances in the way women are treated, it is
unfortunately still an unbalanced dynamic in our society. From an early age, women are often
persuaded, even if subconsciously, to follow a certain pathway in life. They are most often associated
with staying home, keeping the house clean, cooking, baking, and raising children. Certain mediums
that girls are exposed to tend to sway them towards these specific wants and aspirations. The way in
which certain products are presented to little girls create an image they feel like they need to master.
Men, on the other hand, are taught something completely different. They are regularly habituated with
more masculine and self reliant tasks. From an early age, they are automatically seen as people that
deserve to be educated and use their smart, resourceful assets to contribute to society. They are
without a doubt going to get a job and become a father and husband that provides for his family. In
most situations, even if the woman has a job, men are the main bread winner. Going along with this
belief, the products boys are often marketed portray the idea of strength and independence. Whether it
is a toy or a book, men are more often than not characterized as the heroic, more capable gender.
There are many cases in which different mediums exhibit the ideas of men being the superior

  • 3. Robert Levenson Essay For Dr. John Gottmann his successful research and discoveries began 35 years ago with the help of his friend Robert Levenson. They began the research by building a laboratory where couples would attend and speak with each other after a long workday deprived from each other. While the couples spoke their heart rate, their blood velocity, the amount of sweat produced on the palm of their hands, and even the movement they produced while being seated were being measured. The conversations the couples had consisted of a subject that caused unceasing conflict between them and then a positive subject, after their conversations their videotapes would be shown to the couple and were asked about particular moments in the conversation and what they felt ... The repair can only work between the couple depending on the amount of intimacy and friendship that already exists in the relationship. These two factors are then be used to build the first stage of what they call a love map. One of the fundamental characteristics of the friendship between two individuals is the intimate open ended questions asked by this person and the memorization of the answers. Child custody determines the rights of both parents to not only visit with children, but also make important decisions in the child s life. Many people might not be aware that there are two different and important aspects to child custody: legal custody and physical custody. Legal custody refers to the parent s decision making authority for important decisions in the child s life. Such decisions include education, medical care, and religious upbringing. Physical custody refers to where the child resides. In many cases, throughout the divorce process, the parents might have come up with their own parental custody agreement. These agreements are typically ratified by the courts, but courts are not bound by these agreements and may reject these agreements. • 6. Post Revolutionary America By Rosemarie Zagarri The story of post revolutionary America, writes Rosemarie Zagarri, is the story of how American women and men sought to define and ultimately to limit and restrict the expansive ideals they had so successfully deployed against Britain. In this excerpt from Revolutionary Backlash, Zagarri depicts the extreme radicalism of the American Revolution, while also suggesting that there were some constraints to its extremism. Unlike the normal way of life in European government and society, Americans desired a nation in which the inherent rights and freedoms of individuals were recognized and respected. While these rights and freedoms were ultimately achieved, many groups of people were still left out. Women of all kinds, people of color, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since the concept that only wealthy white men are free individuals was a common idea in European customs, many people argue that the American Revolution was not radical in terms of Locke s theory. Despite his inclusion of property within his argument, Locke still contends for the natural rights of all individuals. He does not include the right to own property with the intentions of excluding women, colored people, or poor men. Locke s meaning is not that only people with property have natural rights; instead, he includes the term property to claim that individuals of every race, class, and background have the right to ownership, just as all individuals have the right to life and liberty. Locke s idea is notably different from the normal concepts about liberty that encompassed European culture during that time. Therefore, in regards to Locke s theory, the American Revolution was radical. In addition, the way in which gender roles were altered during the American Revolution provides evidence of its radicalism. Traditionally, women of any color had no place within the realms of politics in European culture. Strictly white men of wealth were allowed to participate in government activities. Zagarri points out that the American Revolution triggered a continuing argument over the rights of upper class white women in American culture and their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the beginning of the semester on the first day I was incredibly nervous, so when I walked up to the front of the class with my desk mate, I was shaking, sweating, and could feel my heartbeat. Extremely shy, scared of my classmates and professor judging me or thinking less of me because I could barely say one word without getting a lump in my throat. I could barely lift my eyes from my paper and gaze on the daunting eyes that were staring. Those couple minutes of our first speech talking about our desk mate felt like hours, I could not catch my breath and was ready to run out of the class. After the first day I was so mentally exhausted from being anxious and was immensely stressed that I would not do well in the class. The stress and worry was doubled when I heard about the background of our professor, since I did not want to do poorly in a professor s class that I highly respected. Thankfully, I stuck in the course and did not run away, and with every class public speaking became easier and less taxing, especially in small groups. The practices and folders of information, aided the process and confidence when speaking. Getting to know my classmates made the course extremely fun and less stressful because I knew they were only here to help and not hurt. Capital Market Imperfections in Emerging Economies Capital market imperfection generally refers the capital available at below market rates for a certain time period and this result in creating disequilibrium in the capital market. Market imperfections in emerging economies such as China may be transformed into ownership advantages (Buckley, 2004) and this may be emerged from a number of interrelated imperfections listed below: 1) State owned enterprises (SOEs) may have capital possibly in forms of soft budget constraints which made available to them at below the market rates (Warner et al., 2004) 2) Banking systems are inefficient which it allows to make soft loans to potential outward investors (Warner et al., 2004; Antkiewicz and Whalley, 2006). 3) Many Chinese conglomerate firms may operate an inefficient internal capital market and effectively subsidize FDI (Liu, 2005). 4) Family owned firms tend to have easier access to cheap capitals through family members (Child and Pleister, 2003; Erdener and Shapiro, 2005) These imperfections in the capital market may all exist in China. According to Tong (2002), soft budget constraint is regarded as a common phenomenon in socialist economy. It is generally resulted from inefficient operations. Inefficient Chinese firms survive in general and they contribute the soft budget constraints promoted by local government and party officials (Lardy, 1998). • 13. Chesapeake Shores Even though your series Chesapeake Shores has come to an end as far as a book series goes, will you ever consider writing any more books in that series? Well, I ll consider anything. At this moment, I m not planning to write any more in that series. And as far as that impacts the TV show, amazingly, we got through the entire first season, and we haven t even finished book one. So we ve got a long way to go before we would empty out the coffers of the books. That s why I certainly hope it goes on cause we ve got lots of characters I hope we get to. There are little bits from books two and three that got pulled into the first season. The TV show also allows us to dig deeper into storylines that are in the background of the books. Just an example, we know Abby works in this company in New York and she makes her decision to come back to Chesapeake Shores. But that whole story of her life in New York is a story that we can explore a little bit more. So that s one thing about the TV show that is kind of exciting that it allows us to take a deeper look as opposed to a more superficial look at certain aspects of the book and kind of enrich it. And certainly, as I said before, it goes off ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is a hard one. • 14. The Reproductive Rights Of Women The reproductive rights of women have always been a hotly debated topic between those who support a women s right to an abortion and those who vehemently oppose it. The United States Supreme Court ruled in the landmark case Roe vs. Wade that it was legally a woman s right to have an abortion in 1973, and clearly outlines that states cannot pass laws that create an undue burden for women who choose to exercise their rights and terminate their pregnancy. Since then, there have been consistent challenges from many states along with pro life organizations all over the country to find ways to limit and to control the reproductive rights of women. In 1992, even though the ruling of Roe vs. Wade was confirmed in the case of Planned Parenthood vs. Casey, the Supreme Court also ruled that states can create regulations to limit abortions in order to protect the safety and health of the mother and the life of the unborn fetus. The outcome has resulted in several traditionally conservative states including Arkansas, Texas, North Dakota and Indiana passing laws that are cleverly disguised as rules to protect women, but ultimately makes it extremely difficult if not all together impossible for women to seek a legal abortion. On March 2nd, 2016, the state of Texas, a state that already has some of the toughest abortion laws in the United States of America, had one of its most controversial bills Senate Bill 2, also known as House Bill 2 or HB2, challenged by the case Whole Woman s Health ... The Flynn Effect And Nutrition Nutrition, the Flynn Effect, and Substance Abuse Carly Gottsponer PSY 3813 TC3 Korey Davis September 17, 2017 The Flynn Effect is the tendency of IQ scores to change over time, and specifically, the apparent increase in intelligence in the general population evidenced by a steady increase in IQ scores. It was first noticed by James Flynn (The Flynn Effect). As years went by and IQ tests were restandardized, it was noticed that when previous tests were taken the outcomes were better on the previous tests than the tests that were in current circulation. The Flynn Effect has a number of factors that can attribute to the effect taking place. One factor in particular that has been discussed by many different people is the factor of overall better nutrition. Overall better nutrition has occurred in many places over the last 100 years or so. This improvement has been linked to head growth, earlier maturation of children, increased height, and faster growth (Williams). Increased head growth most likely means that human brains are growing which can subsequently be linked to the increased intelligence that is proven by IQ scores. The earlier maturation and faster growth of children can also be linked to how a population s intelligence improves over many years. The Flynn Effect and nutrition are related through the correlation of increased intelligence and increased overall nutrition. The effects of the Flynn effect on nutrition and vice versa are extensive. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

His family was not able to hire a lawyer for him at the time, so a lawyer was appointed to him. The problem with his appointed lawyer was that he didn t speak Spanish and the family friend didn t speak English, therefore there was no way of communication. The lawyer did not find out anything about his case, he didn t find out whether or not he had a work permit or a visa, which he did but had been expired. The attorney appointed to him just said, Sign the papers and you ll be released here. The family friend just did what the lawyer said because he thought he was helping him, not creating a bigger problem. Now, he is fighting to stay here where he has built a life with his wife and kids. Again, what is the point of having a system if it has faults to it? Problems in the system have been present since about the 1930s or 1940s and are still present to this day, it may not have as many faults however some are still present. Neo liberals are prepared to go to war but it is generally accepted as a last resort, with the use of economic sanctions the preferred security method; the belief of peace via co operation. Neo liberals view sanctions as a means of preventing a rogue state from violating the international norms (Martin, 1992). The neo liberal understanding of the international community lies within increasing interconnectedness and the utility of international institutions such as the EU and UN. The security of Israel has weakened in recent years due to threat posed by Iran and their suspected research into the development of nuclear weapons. In 2005 the EU imposed trade sanctions on Iran due to resuming of nuclear activities (European Commission, 2012). A form of collective security occurs when all states stand to lose something from war; collective insecurity leads to security. Kant would argue that even though the international system is anarchic, alliances and treaties still exist as a form of power and security. Buzan (1991) takes this further stating that although economic activity can generate many different factions within in a state, the international economy itself becomes powerfully tied together trade, finance and communication. As previously mentioned, neo realists place an emphasis upon security via military power, and whilst there is no denying that military security is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Taking a Closer Look at a CPU Although many people are computer nerds; many people do not know what a CPU is; or what it does. A computer has many parts that make up the hardware, and the software; enabling it to function correctly. One of the main components that a computer needs to work is a Central Processing Unit also known as the microprocessor. The central processing unit includes all the computers main parts, and is the basic part of the computer. The CPU is responsible for executing out tasks, and running the software. The software runs on programs that are translated into number codes made up of 1s and 0s that the central processing unit can understand. Each code that is executed means a certain operation should take place. A CPU serves for four functions; Fetch, Decode, Execute, and write back these functions are the four primary ones. Other functions that follow are the Arithmetic and logic unit, as well as the Memory access. In the first step of dealing with a CPU the fetch function is up first. The fetch function involves retrieving information that it needs to run from the program memory, and basically giving it instructions which is put in by a number of a whole line of them from the memory. Wherever the memory may be is determined by the (PC) which is also known as the program counter. The PC stores a number that can keep track of the current place in the program. When the instruction is fetched the Program Counter is then inputted by the length of the instruction in word terms of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Flight Breakup During Test Flight Scaled Composites In Flight Breakup During Test Flight Scaled Composites SpaceShipTwo N339SS Near Koehn Dry Lake, California October 31, 2014 On October 31, 2014 at 1007:32 Pacific Daylight Time Scaled Composites SpaceShipTwo reusable suborbital rocket N339SS broke up into multiple pieces during a test flight over the Mojave Dessert. The pilot Peter Siebold managed to survive however the co pilot Michael Alsbury died. The primary reason for this test flight included conducting a 38 second burn to test the new hybrid motor which used a nylon fuel grain and nitrous oxide to generate thrust, and a feathered reentry that was to be at a speed of Mach 1.2 (NTSB) The mission for SpaceShipTwo consisted of an air drop from approximately 50,000ft from White ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This callout was to alert the pilot of a transonic bobble would occur as the vehicle accelerated through the transonic region and became supersonic. The next step was to unlock the feather by moving the feather lock handle from the locked to unlocked position when SpaceShipTwo reached a speed of Mach 1.4. (NTSB) The copilot did not heed the instructions of the pilot to unlock the feather. The cockpit image recorder showed that 0.5 seconds after making the Mach 0.8 callout the copilot started to unlock the feather at approximately Mach 0.82. Because of this premature movement of the feather locking system, the large lifting force (keeping the feather extended) generated by the tail, overpowered the resistance capability of the feather actuators (keeping the feather retracted), essentially folding the fuselage over the tailboom. The pilot, age 43 held a flight instructor certificate, commercial pilot certificate, with ratings for airplane single engine and multiengine land, instrument airplane, and glider. He held FAA authorization to operate the SpaceShipOne, SpaceShipTwo, Proteus and White Knight Two experimental aircraft as the pilot in command. The pilot held a second class medical certificate with no limitations. The pilot was hired by Scaled Composites in December 1996 as a design engineer. (NTSB) He had been a test pilot for the SpaceShipOne program. The pilot transitioned to the SpaceShipTwo program in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Women s Influence On Society Essay In today s society, there is often a misconception among women and men and the roles they are expected to follow through with. Although there has been advances in the way women are treated, it is unfortunately still an unbalanced dynamic in our society. From an early age, women are often persuaded, even if subconsciously, to follow a certain pathway in life. They are most often associated with staying home, keeping the house clean, cooking, baking, and raising children. Certain mediums that girls are exposed to tend to sway them towards these specific wants and aspirations. The way in which certain products are presented to little girls create an image they feel like they need to master. Men, on the other hand, are taught something completely different. They are regularly habituated with more masculine and self reliant tasks. From an early age, they are automatically seen as people that deserve to be educated and use their smart, resourceful assets to contribute to society. They are without a doubt going to get a job and become a father and husband that provides for his family. In most situations, even if the woman has a job, men are the main bread winner. Going along with this belief, the products boys are often marketed portray the idea of strength and independence. Whether it is a toy or a book, men are more often than not characterized as the heroic, more capable gender. There are many cases in which different mediums exhibit the ideas of men being the superior ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
