Social Security Trust Fund Essay
The Social Security System runs on the laborer contribution to the trust fund. For the example, when
individuals are working, he or she required to contribute into the Social Security Fund: so later in their
life when it s their time to retire, they can receive benefits from the social security fund. It has been
helping retirees to meet their monthly expenses. The social security policy is a successful
intergenerational program that has been serving American aging people for many years. Although,
since 2010, the social security trust fund has been paying out more than what they receive through
employees. Which is why many experts predict that system will work till 2037. Historically, Social
Security trust fund has taken in more money in taxes than it has paid out in benefits. However, from
last few decades the worker to beneficiary ratio has been dropping. In 1945 there were 42 workers for
each beneficiary, in 1980 it had fallen to 3.2 worker to one beneficiary, expert predicts by 2030 there
will be only 2 workers will support each beneficiary. The reason for this change is that the beneficiary
are living longer, so they are receiving Social Security Benefits for longer periods of time. While on
the other hand, population growth is lower, that means fewer babies per family, and less workers force
for later. The less workers per beneficiary will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The people who oppose the privatization, propose that retirees could lose their benefits in a stock
market downturn, as well as, some workers may not contribute to the account. On the other hand, the
promoters of privatization suggest that byn privatizing the account retirees will have higher returns
than the current system can offer. Also, privatization may help to restore the system s ability to pay the
dues. As per my personal opinion the system should privatize for our better

Women During The Greek Period
Women during The Greek Period and Now Art and sculptures have been created since the beginning
of mankind in order to express themselves and demonstrate human potential. From simple carvings on
a rock walls to magnificent works of art, such as the sixteenth chapel, art has continued to progress
throughout time and it continues to progresses even further. There are many different types of art to
depict different things the artist wants to transfer to his viewers if not created for himself. Since works
of art are made to express aspects within life, it creates symbolics meanings the vary on the message
the artist wants to give out. Besides symbolic meanings, a work of art can notify the viewer of the
history during the time period it was created, roles within society, the way people lived during the time
it was made, how society functioned, what they believed in, and many more things about life that are
uncountable. Women were among one of the things artist painted and sculpted about. They did this
and continue to do this in order to show what women meant to people during that time. Comparing an
old painting with a contemporary painting we can see how some aspects, techniques, and styles within
the art have changed and how women s roles have become different in society over the course of time.
We can also see what artistic aspects, techniques, and style have remained the same, and what we can
see what has remained the same about women today. We can view this when we

What Is The Reflection Of College Writing
Coming to college from a small all girls Catholic high school, I had two years of Advanced Placement
English classes under my belt and was more than confident in my ability to produce an organized and
well written paper in a timely manner. It was not until I was given the prompt for our first paper in this
course that I realized that the college writing process would not be as fearless as I had originally
anticipated. Even if I was writing like a college student in high school, I was incapable of freely
thinking like one. During those four years, I constantly had religion based conservative beliefs and
strong yet reserved feminist ideas engraved in my very being. Plain to say, when it came time to pick
the topic of my first college essay, I found that I was only comfortable writing what I was told. I had
lost the ability to think for myself and found myself afraid to express my ideas freely. However,
throughout the duration of this semester, I have found a voice that is purely my own and have been
able to express my thoughts without hesitation. In our first paper of the semester, we were asked to
develop an original and interesting claim in response to the ideas of authors in response to another s
work. The secondary essay that stuck out to me the most was Douglas L. Peterson s Wisdom
Consumed in Confident : An Examination of Shakespeare s Julius Caesar, which calls into question
Julius Caesar s importance in his namesake play. I was not sure at the time why this one

Internal And Domestic Conflict During The Cold War Era
The words of Lewis carrol Let craft, ambition, spite Be quenched in reason s night, Till weakness turn
to might, Till what is dark is light, Till what is wrong is right. The conventional political analysts gave
two fold international relationship doctrine war and peace. Pace has meant international peace, while
war has referred to major interstate armed conflicts. The security within borders has been identical to
national security. National security and national defense have become virtually synonymous, and
emphasis has been put on the military aspects of security. The traditional arrangements for peace and
security have been balance of power and collective security. However, the post cold war era has
brought to the fore the problem of internal and domestic conflict. Globalisation and communication
are deeply intertwined in international relations. Probably, there is no globalization without media and
communication. The breaking up of space and time, brought about by electronic media, has led to
individuals being able to interact with one another and within frameworks of mediated interaction,
regardless of social disparities. The countries are no more impermeable to the events and happenings
of other nations around the world. David Held and Anthony Mc grew s definition of globalization
which denotes the expanding scale, growing magnitude, speeding up and deepening impact of
transcontinental flows and patterns of social interaction.

College of Western Idaho
Summary
Very few studies have been completed on the quality of life of post treatment Latina breast cancer
survivors. The purpose of the evidence based practice study was to test whether or not the quality of
life for Latina breast cancer survivors was affected by bilingual intervention.
The study was composed of two groups. The control group received the usual breast cancer care. The
experimental group received the usual care and some additional components including four teaching
sessions completed within the first month and regular follow up calls. Intervention ... Show more

Analysis Of Tidal Wetlands
In the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service s 130 year assessment of Status and Trends of Wetlands in the
Long Island Sound Area, the results indicated that there was a 48% loss of Tidal Wetlands from the
1880s to 2000s in New York. Even after protective legislation was passed in the 1970s, wetland
decline increased by 19% decrease in New York from 1970 to present day. (Basso, 6)
This decline in wetlands should be of concern to ____ as wetlands provide a variety of ecosystem
services to the general populace. They provide provisioning services by the providing habitats to
different marine organisms such as shellfish, finfish, and waterfowl, some of which provide humans

However, too much nitrogen is leading to the wetland s demise. While the main concern for the loss of
wetlands up until the 1970s was draining and filling, and while the laws created then focused on
reducing wetland destruction through urbanization, wetlands are still being deteriorated. Today, the
main concern is wetland loss created by increased amounts of open water on the marsh surface. The
literature suggests that on average, healthy New England marshes have 9% permanent open water on
their surface. However, an open water assessment indicates an average of 47% permanent open water
on the marshes studied (Kirwan 2013).
In Long Island, the marshes are wetter and vegetated areas are shifting from high marsh to low marsh
or to mud flat, which are far less productive and give fewer services than the salt marshes and other
high marshes that are supposed to be there. (Kirwan 2013

While there are plenty of human created stressors that are creating this conversion, such as invasive

My Dream In Life
It was just another typical, and boring day in Hopedale, Massachusetts. Working on a farm meant
blood, sweat, and sometimes even tears. I walked up to the barn to milk the cows, and fed freshly
picked vegetables to the pigs, afterward I made my way two miles to the flea market to sell my milk
and wool. By the time I got back, it had reached dusk, the sky was filled with gorgeous, bright stars
that filled every crack of the dark night sky. I was exhausted and filthy, I smelt like dirty socks that
hadn t been washed in years. As soon as I got home, I hopped into the shower, the warm water
dripping from my hair to my toes. I ran my fingers through the rough tangles in my curly brown hair.
As I grabbed the shampoo bottle I could feel my feet burning from the blisters on my the bottom of
my feet. I turned knob on the left side of the shower to turn off the water and reached for a dry towel
and wrapped it around my waist. Water trickled down my legs as I attempted to dry myself off. I
slipped into my favorite warm pajama pants and put on a large teal sweatshirt, then i got into bed and
pulled the covers up to my face and immediately dozed off into a deep sleep. I dreamt of the future a
life filled of adventure with a young boy that I could call my own. Suddenly, there was a loud, blaring
sound coming from across the room. RING RING RING RING I rushed to see where the commotion
was coming from, it was my phone, there were five missed calls from Jedd. Sweat rushed to my
hands, he

Essay On Grendel And Beowulf
In the novel Grendel and the epic poem Beowulf the reader receives a better experience through a first
person point of view. In John Gardner s Grendel which is written in first person the reader is
constantly engaged. The authors use of first person provides the reader of Grendel s thoughts and
emotion. While, in the epic poem Beowulf which is written in 3rd person does not give the reader any
personal connection.
By using first person we have more insight on the characters inner emotions and the reader gains
justification of why the characters act in a specific way. Beowulf thirteen fearless followers venture
onto geatland. It was a paved track a path that kept them in marching order their male shirts glinted
hard and hand linked the high gloss iron of their Armour rang this quote from the epic poem Beowulf
just describes what is happening it s boring, we also don t get any insight on his thoughts feelings and
emotions. However, in Grendel when he met Beowulf for the first time we knew exactly what he was
thinking, I am suddenly annoyed no longer amused by his stupidity Grendel was getting along with
Beowulf somewhat but after talking to him for a little bit Grendel was getting annoyed. First person is
a lot better because it gives the reader thoughts and emotions that third person can not provide.
The use of third person adds enormous amounts of unimportant detail which makes the reader lose
interest. Third person makes the story boring when Grendel and Beowulf

Cache
Cache located between CPU and RAM. It is a high speed memory that accelerates CPU to exchange
information from RAM (Shelly, et al, 2008). Cache works in a frequently accessible files and
programs in the computer so it can be processed in shorter time. For example, a secretary s computer
which used for typing a lot will have its word processing program opened faster than the other staffs
computer.
Secondary storage * Stokes (2008) states that secondary storage is used for saving files and
information in the matter of capacity. When programs are installed into the computer or files are
inserted, secondary memory is the place where all the stuffs are put into. It gives information about
how much computer can store data in its system. Files, programs, and other stuffs that put in
secondary storage are saved permanently in the system. So, when the computer is off, the stuffs will
stay at the same state and condition without having any lost parts.
Picture 2.1 Secondary storage works like cloth drawers for computers. As long as there is a space, it is
fine to put more things. Image source: http://corriehaffly.wordpress.com
There are various forms of secondary storage. Some attached in CPU and some is separated from

I am sure we have all seen or heard about taffy. What I would think would come to mind to most
people when I would say something regarding taffy might be something concerning saltwater taffy. I
love saltwater taffy. It seems that it is not in great supply around here. The only place I know of is
somewhere like the cracker barrel. Needless to say I never go to cracker barrel, and it is a little more
than I feel comfortable spending on candy. So I find myself resorting to a childhood favorite, laffy
taffy. It is sold everywhere, and it is very inexpensive. I really started to like it when I played baseball
as a kid. After the game I would always try to pump mom or dad for a few cents to stock up. It never
made it home. I would somehow eat my entire entire stockpile. Whoever came up with the idea of
putting jokes inside the wrapper is a very rich man. I could not help but to try to unwrap one more.
The way the jokes where printed on the wrapper was very smart too. They would put one joke half

Reasons For The French Revolution
There were many causes that led to the French Revolution. Class, money, and philosophes were three
major factors that contributed to the French Revolution. The most important cause was money. These
factors resulted in Louis The Sixteenth and Marie Antoinette being executed, and the reign of
Napoleon to begin.
Class conflicts are a huge component of the French Revolution. The French Revolution began as a
result of the lack of the people s happiness over how they were told to live their lives. There were
three estates. The first estate being the clergy, the second estate being the nobility, and the third estate
being the bourgeoisie (commoners). The first and second estate consisted of very few people, but was
given most of the money, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the first and second estate voted that the bourgeoisie should pay all the taxes, the bourgeoisies was
outvoted and was forced to keep paying all of the taxes. The nobility and clergy were very greedy,
especially the clergy. Their morals were supposed to be more focused on the word of god, instead of
being focused on the material aspects of life on Earth. The clergy was supposed to be kind and helpful,
instead of selfish. Since the clergy was greedy, it lead France to be in even more debt and have more
conflicts. There were many privileges only given to the upper classes, which made it unfair. At the
beginning of the French Revolution, the bourgeoisie became very fed up with the inequalities within
the classes. To deal with the inequalities, the estates decided to gather in the tennis courts and take an
oath called the Tennis court Oath. The Tennis court Oath stated that they would not leave until a new
constitution was created. In the end, a new constitution was created and a new form of government
was put into place. The new government was called the national assembly. The national assembly
lasted from 1789 1799 but was then abolished as it upset many people in France because the priorities
of the National Assemblies decisions did not meet the people s needs.
Money was also a major factor to the French Revolution. Once Louis The Sixteenth and Marie
Antoinette became absolute monarchs in 1774, they lavishly spent money. The couple

Theme Of Confusion In Atonement
Confusion is an archetypal storytelling motif, seen in such classics as Julius Caesar by William
Shakespeare as well as modern television. This motif, whether it s referenced as the fog of war,
confusion, or simply misconceptions, has progressed intriguing plots for centuries. Often, confusion
follows one seeking to find transparent, black and white truths where they don t exist. In modern
literature, a prime model of the effects of confusion can be seen in Ian McEwan s Atonement.
Atonement, being a novel founded upon a principle of varied versions of reality created through
misunderstandings triggered by adolescence and a lust for control, shows how the act of seeking clear
black and white answers in a gray world often leads to a loss of control ... Show more content on

Briony, in her final note in the book, begins speaking of how she identifies the fact that she creates her
own realities through her writing and, reasonably, lives them out. She states, how can a novelist
achieve atonement when, with her absolute power of deciding outcomes, she is also God? (McEwan
350). Briony s experienced state shows how she has identified how her youthful state and her role as a
novelist have created her own versions of reality and that she cannot achieve atonement because it is
something only she can give to herself. In other words, Briony has come to the conclusion that she
cannot be forgiven for actions, that she had lost control of her life when she tried to take control of it
at a young age, and how her youthful imagination had upset the worldly balance when it began
tampering with the real world. Briony has clearly come to grips with the idea that the world is not
black and white; rather, it is a very indiscernible creation that can easily be corrupted by those who

Analysis Of `` Sapphire s Novel `` Push ``
Sapphire uses language to control how readers react the her novel Push, she attempts to impose
feelings of anger, helplessness, and hope onto her readers. The story follows Precious through two
years of her life, during which she experience all the emotions that Sapphire imposes on the reader.
This is to make readers empathize with Precious. Sapphire carefully chooses her words, using
specially chosen phrases at certain integral points in the novel. By doing so, she gives each word
significant meaning. Her language usage emphasizes Precious intelligence, something that is
continually questioned throughout the novel. Precious is often reduced to a stereotype by her mother

Precious still believes in love and home, though it is possible that she has never been shown love, and
may have never felt as though she had a home. She knows what love is, and that she feels it for her
child. Precious has not let her circumstances dictate her future, she is refusing to become just another
stereotype. Sapphire illustrates this conviction by the line [l]isten baby, Muver love you. Muver not
dumb (Sapphire 66). Given that fuck is the only word spelled correctly in Precious alphabet, it most
likely has an important meaning in her life. Fuck, as an adjective is usually used to express strong,
often negative, emotion. Precious uses it frequently throughout both the narrative and her journal
entries, it is reasonable to assume she cannot easily express her emotions, and therefore resorts to
profanities. Fuck is not a word usually taught in school, and it is unlikely that Precious parents taught
her how to spell much of anything; therefore Precious most likely learned how to spell the word from
graffiti, which further illustrates the conditions in which Precious grew up. Even though she has
spelled nothing else in her alphabet correctly, Precious knows how to spell fuck and how to use it
correctly in all matters of speech. Sapphire uses fuck to demonstrate Precious internalized negative
emotions. Using fuck as a verb indicates the act of having sex, though it is being expressed in a lewd
manner. To say fucking rather

Literary Devices In The Charge Of The Light Brigade
In times of war, soldiers must surpass obstacles and be ready to face challenges. Witnessing the valiant
efforts of these men who throw their lives on the line instills an insurmountable sense of pride in the
hearts of spectators. Both Lord Alfred Tennyson s poem and Richard Caton Woodville Jr. s illustration
entitled The Charge of the Light Brigade incorporate literary terms to express their feeling of pride
towards the Light Brigade. Tennyson exhibits this by using repetition to signify the danger of fighting
in battle, in addition to using imagery to help the reader imagine how terrifying war is while setting a
respectful tone. Woodville shows pride through the dangerous setting, through the symbolism
signifying the danger of fighting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all, the artist uses setting. His addition of depressions in the ground and use of color scheme
are examples of this. He deliberately uses the depressions to indicate how dangerous the environment
is, and is proud that even though the men saw cannons being fired and bullets shooting at them, they
still go through with their job. They understand that it is their duty to fight for their country no matter
what obstacles they may face. The warm colors of the backdrop add onto this feeling because it
indicates the artist is content with how the men were willing to put themselves forward. Symbolism is
another literary term used by Woodville. For instance, this is shown when the men on horses hold up
their sabres. The fact that the soldiers are pointing them towards their enemies show how they are not
afraid, aware that they do not stand a chance against the other sides artillery. The artist s feeling is
revealed here because although they know that they will be defeated, the men hold their weapons up
high, continuing to charge and fight to the best of their abilities. They are courageous and ready to
endure the pain. The most important literary device Woodville s uses to convey his feeling of pride is
imagery. The poet shows this through the charging motion of the men on their horses. The soldiers
lean forward and hold their weapons high riding towards their opponents their courage. Instead

This paper will examine the various components of deforestation on a local and global scale. The
following data seen throughout the research paper will analyze the different types of deforestation and
the detrimental impact it leaves on the earth.. I contributed my own data and analysis in analyzing the
time analysis of the concentration of carbon dioxide in the troposphere represented in Figure A. I
created a time analysis map with NASA Giovanni between 1980 and 2002. The time period was
chosen to represent the effects once deforestation began to increase around the 1980s. I also generated
a map of deforestation in California through Global Forest Watch.
II. Introduction
Climate change is such a prevalent topic of concern in modern day that it is important to understand
the contributions to it, deforestation being one of them. Deforestation exacerbates the already negative
consequences of climate change. Forests play a fundamental role in many different aspects of earth
systems and deforestation is decreasing the benefits of forests. Forests cover approximately thirty one
percent of the land cover in the world; however, 46 56 square miles of forestlands are lost each year
(World Wildlife Fund). As technology continues to advance and the world increasingly becomes more
industrialized, deforestation has the potential to get so extreme it will be difficult to go back and fix
the negative effects.

Essay On Raw Gley Soil
The Main Soil Types of the UK
Terrestrial Raw Soils
These are soils consisting predominantly of unaltered mineral material that have no surface/sub
surface horizon attributed to soil forming processes (unless buried under a 730cm thick deposit from
the Holocene) (Avery, 1980;). These soils do not normally have continuous vegetation cover (Avery,
1980). They occur in very recently formed soil and may have a superficial organic or organo mineral
layer less than 5cm thick. Sometimes they have a buried horizon below 30cm of depth. (Thompson,
2007; Jarvis, 1984).
Raw Gley Soils
Raw gley soils are found within mineral material that has remained waterlogged since deposition
(Thompson, 2007). The soils are missing a distinctive top soil and contain gleyed subsurface horizons
(Avery, 1980). They also contain a mineral horizon which starts at 20cm and extends below 30cm
(Avery, 1980). Jarvis (1984) also states that the soils are distinctly mottled above 40cm depth. Raw
gley soil types are mostly confined to intertidal flats (Avery, 1980) or areas that represent various
stages in the development of salt marshes (Thompson, 2007).
Lithomorphic Soils
Contain a distinctive top soil that is humose or peaty and a substratum starting at 40cm in depth which
has been altered little (Avery, 1980; Buol, 1997). The soils do not contain a disturbed surface layer, the
B horizon is not podzolic, weathered or argillic (Avery, 1980; Buol, 1997) and the soil profile is
shallow (Ashman Puri, 2002).

The Types Of General Data
Qualitative and Quantitative are the two types of general data. Quantitative is data the deals with
quantities, information that can be measured and put down as numbers on paper. An example
quantitative data can be someone s height, shoe size, and length of hair. Qualitative data is information
that can t be measured but still existed in a sense that we can understand. When taking the two of these
and put them into the format of research they both have different aims in trying to collect their own
types of information that can be analyzed.
Qualitative research s main aim is to provide a complete and detailed description of the topic that is

Once you have collected qualitative data you must then analysis the data and there are things that must
be considered. Analyzing the research involves having a aim that you want to uncover, using that
uncovered data to explain a phenomenon. Also with qualitative research you can use almost all of the
data that you may collect, any responses that you have put together from unstructured qualitative
methods. Another aspect that needs to be considered about qualitative research is that it doesn t have a
existing set system to identify and label the data. So a research need to use create their own methods
using content analysis. Content analysis is a system for labeling verbal or behavioral data so that the
data can be put into classification, summarization and tabulation classes. This allows the research to
analysis the data according to it s specifically class and allow them to know how to approach the data.
An example of how qualitative research data is analyzed can be show with these research examples;
Observation Qualitative research can be collected with something as simple as observation. The
research is able to observe the matter they wish to research without creating any kind of set

Adoption Is A Better Choice
When women are faced with an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy, there are many options for them.
Most of their options are not straight forward or easy to see. Some mothers decide to keep their child
while others feel that adoption or abortion is the better choice for both themselves and the unborn
child. In the United States, nearly one in four pregnancies end in abortion. Adoption is a better choice
because it is just the beginning for a life.
According to the blog, Our Bodies Ourselves, the first recorded abortion in the Untied States was in
the 1800s. Up until this time, abortion was legally practiced throughout the nation. The government, at
the time, decided to ban and make abortions illegal. The reason for making it illegal was to ... Show

What is an abortion though? It seems as everyone has their own definition to what an abortion is.
According to the Law Dictionary, the definition of an abortion is the artificial of spontaneous
termination of a pregnancy before the embryo or fetus can survive on its own outside of the mother s
womb. ( What is ) One author, in the article Can We Talk About Abortion, describes abortion as
morally problematic, pastorally delicate, legislatively thorny and widely performed. (Inspire)

there are at least 1.1 million abortions each year. In the study, they concluded that 50% of all women

Etruscan Religion
The origin of the Roman mythology is based on the Etruscan religion and the Greek mythology. The
religion or belief system could shape with geography and influence by it.
Roman culture was born and grew on the civilizations of the Etruscans and Greeks so that the
mythology of Romans is based on Etruscan religion and the Greek mythology. Etruscans who were
settled in Italy before the Romans were not a local folk, due to this fact their religion had distinctive
rituals and myths when it is compared with that region s traditions. One of the distinguishing features
of Etruscan religion is having prophets in their culture. As de
Grummond described, the prophecies of the prophets originated the beginning of the religion of the

De Grummond adds that the entire guides of Etrusca disciplina were unveiled after an insightful child
rose from recently ploughed land, and the base of Etruscan prophecy was laid down in the tale of

Christian, and Islamic religions Etruscan religion was polytheistic, and gods of the pantheon resided in
sixteen ranges of Etruscan heaven (2006, p. 45). However, according to them
Etruscans believed a revealed religion and they communicated with the deity by gods of the sky, earth
and the underworld. Their main gods was Tin or Tinia who is the god of sky and counterpart of Zeus
in Greek mythology and Jupiter in Roman mythology. Other major goddesses were Uni who was the
supreme goddess of pantheon, wife of Tinia, the equivalent of Hera in Greek mythology and Juno in
Roman mythology, and Menrva who was the goddess of wisdom and the equal of Athena in Greek
mythology and Minerva in Roman mythology. Together Tinia, Uni and Menrva were triad rulers of the
Etruscan pantheon. After

The Camp Situation In the state of Utah, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the main

the reason I had very few friends growing up. One of them was Mormon but her parents were the
nicest people I could have ever met. They didn t care about my religious affiliation. My parents have

The Effects Of Sleep On Blood Glucose Levels
In laboratory studies of healthy young adults submitted to recurrent partial sleep restriction, marked
alterations in glucose metabolism including decreased glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity have
been demonstrated (Spiegel et al. 2005). A pooled regression analysis in adults also suggests that a
reduction in one hour of sleep per day would be associated with a 0.35 kg/m2 increase in BMI
(Cappuccio et al. 2008). In Japan, a study of adolescents observed a dose response relationship
between short sleep durations and obesity (BMI 85th percentile for age and sex and a percentage body
fat 25% for men or 30% for women) after controlling for age, sex, parental obesity, sexual maturation,

There is a lot of data of effect of physical exercise and eating on blood glucose levels and chances at
Type II diabetes. However, there isn t much much data on the effect of sleep on glucose levels and
Type II diabetes development rates. More data is needed on the impact on amount of sleep and this
experiment would do exactly that.
3. OUTLINE OF EXPERIMENT
A. HYPOTHESIS AND VARIABLES The following is the hypothesis of our experiment: It is
predicted that if people aged ten to eighteen years in America are allowed to only sleep less than eight
hours consecutively a night, then they will have a higher mean blood sugar level than those who sleep
eight hours or more consecutively a night. The independent variable of this experiment is the amount
of sleep the children receive every night. This is operationalized by having two control groups, with
children receiving 8 and 9 hours of sleep a night, respectively. Getting 8 to 9 hours of sleep a night is
the recommended amount of sleep for children, so we predict that there will be no drastic changes to
blood glucose levels. There will be two experimental groups, with children receiving 6 and 7 hours of
sleep a night, respectively. The dependent variable is the effect on the blood sugar level.

The Importance Of Education For A Company s Chief...
Although schooling is extremely important it is not the only thing people need in order to become a
company s chief executive. There are many skills that are helpful to have in this particular career. A
person must be organized because of all the planning they will have to be doing, have patience due to
the stressful obstacles that will surely be in the way, which ties in directly with problem solving. Also,
they would be dealing with a lot of people so speaking skills and communication is something that
they can definitely not struggle with. The abilities a chief executive must obtain are written
expression, speech clarity and recognition, written composition and deductive reasoning, and oral
comprehension (O Net). All of which will help move a person move ahead of competitive peers.
When the group discussed relocating to other states Florida and New York were our top choices. The
Bureau of Labor Statistics say that 13,970 people are currently are employed as chief executives in
Florida. For entry positions the average pay is $202,300 a year. This is very good pay however, the
growth level in the next five to ten years is barely 2.4% (Bureau of Labor Statistics). Which is not
very promising for a person with this career goal in mind. In New York, they currently employ 17,060
people as this type of executive. The Bureau of Labor Statistics also says they have a better growth
rate at 3.8%, but still not very promising for those going into this career. The pay in New York is

Among them the land and water resources are worst affected and under continuous stress with both
biotic and abiotic, due to anthropogenic interventions. If we talk about the soul of infinite life i.e.,

Reflection Paper On Substance Abuse
On October 3rd, I attended a meeting that completely opened my eyes on the issue of substance abuse.
The meeting I attended was an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. When thinking about what sort of
recovery event I wanted to experience for this experimental activity the first thing that came to mind
was Alcoholics Anonymous. I have heard of AA but never had an expanded understanding of the
program. The first thing I did was google Alcoholics Anonymous University of Iowa and the rest was
a breeze. The first link that appeared was a University of Iowa Hospitals Clinics page that listed open
AA meetings. So as stated earlier, on Tuesday, October 3rd from 12 pm to 1 pm in Room 5024 Boyd
Tower, I gained a whole new outlook on substance abuse. As soon as I walked into the meeting I was a
slightly intimidated at first. The room was small, about the size of a classroom, and had a conference
table full of people of all ages and different genders. Since I was just observing I decided to sit at a
separate table and take notes on the activities that went on during the meeting. There were about 10
participants taking part in the meeting from ages that ranged from 30 s to 70 s. There was plenty of
diversity in the group of individuals based on personalities also, but not much diversity in ethnicities
as all of the members of this meeting were white. Once the meeting went underway, I knew I was in
for something very interesting. The meeting began with a moment of silence and preamble.

The Movie Twilight Film Analysis
Twilight
Twilight, is a movie known by many people, directed by Catherine Hardwicke in 2008. Twilight is just
the first of many movies in the series, The Twilight Saga . Isabella Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), the
main character, is a teenage girl, she is moving from her loved home in sunny and warm Arizona with
her mom, to Forks, a always rainy and dreary small town in the state of Washington to live with her
father. When she goes to school she meets Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) a vampire, when she first
sees him she thinks something is different but something about him is attractive to him. Edward and
Bella have never talked to each other but the director shows the viewer the awkward tension the
characters are feeling.
The plot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eventually, Bella and Edward had fallen in love with each other. Edward told her that he is a vampire.
At this part of the movie the viewer already know he is and Bella has an idea that he is as well. But, it
is an important part to the movie because it shows the viewer how Edward tells her how he really does
not want to hurt her but it is hard for him because he can t read her thoughts, Bella is not scared at all.
But when the viewer watches the film they want to see Bella s reaction and how Edward responds to
it. This is a very meaningful part of the movie and was a great way to show how Bella wasn t
frightened that Edward was a vampire and how she trusted him greatly. Bella also knew that Edward
would not harm her in any way. Even though Edward was not sure of himself that he had what it takes
to be strong and not change Bella s life forever, by turning her into his kind, a vampire.
There are many formal film techniques used by the director in Twilight. Such as CGI. In order to
portray the supernatural effects the director uses CGI. In the beginning of the film the director uses an
establishing shot to show where the movie is taking place. It shows Arizona and then fades into
showing how different the small town of Forks is. There countless film techniques in Twilight, but
another important one would be a high angle shot when Edward is standing up in a tree and the
camera is placed on Bella looking up

The first shot is a medium shot of the murderer because it captures him from the waist up. This shot is
taken at eye level because the camera seems to be placed at the subject s height. Since the film is black

The depth of focus is deep because all three planes of focus, foreground, mid ground, and background,

Chronicles of Ice by Gretel Ehrlich
Why did we trade in our ceremonial lives for the workplace? Is this a natural progression or a hiccup
in human civilization that we ll soon renounce (Ehrlich 91)? Gretel Ehrlich asks these deep questions
in her short informative essay Chronicles of Ice (2004). Ehrlich tells of her travels to The World
Heritage glacier Perito Moreno, Argentina. In this short narrative, the author uses pathos and strong
human related metaphors, to relay the direct correlation between glaciers and the well being of Earth.
Ehrlich starts her tale, by giving information that supports her point but also gives insight to her
personal experience. She introduces the physics in paragraph one, Perito Moreno is 257 square ...

there is a problem with the loss of all this environmental information these ice masses hold. Ehrlich
makes this inference to repulse and further engage the reader into this natural disaster. Then follows
step by step the effects melted glaciers would have upon the Earth. She starts with the Albedo effect,
continues to the loss of ice and snow, and finishes with, our sources of fresh water will disappear (90).
This addresses the effects aspect, but also appeals to audience, due to the fact that humans cannot live
without freshwater. The author uses the human items of an air conditioner and sponge to dramatize the
consequences of contraction glaciers. Ehrlich s use of ethos is strongest in paragraphs eleven and

saying, The high mountain peoples of Peru, Chili and Bolivia...Inuit cultures in Alaska, Arctic Canada,
Siberia and Greenland....could disappear (90). This long excerpt proposes the problem of large
extinctions of the cold living populace. She then follows up with the proposal that winter might last

Home Schooling Vs. Public Education
When one thinks of education, almost automatically public education comes to mind. Through the
years, preferences for educating children have slowly been changing. Home schooling was primarily
restricted to religious groups, but in the past several years, it has rapidly been moving into mainstream
society (Ray). Parents today are deciding to home school their children, although there are those who
still believe public education is better. Home schooling is legal in every state and involves as many as
1.5 million children (Wingert Katrowitz). Critics of home schooling raise questions about academic
and social issues. Parents of the home schooled maintain they are not valid. Home schooling is overall
more beneficial than public schools in the education of children.
The idea of home schooling first became popular in the 160 s and 170 s in religious and hippie
communities in an attempt to train children in their values. However, in many states home schooling
was illegal until a court battle in the 10 s legalized it. Since that time, this type of education has been
growing worldwide. In 18, it was estimated that about 1.5 million children were being home schooled.
By 000, the estimate changed to 1.7 million children (Ray). In addition, the reputation of home
schooling changed considerably. In a survey conducted in 18, 5 percent of the respondents showed
evidence that home schooled children were well adjusted socially and performed on standardized tests

Breastfeed In Health Care
Nutritional status is the balance between nutrient intake and nutrient requirements (Jarvis, 2012).
Optimal nutritional status is achieved when sufficient nutrients are consumed to support [the] body s
needs and any increased metabolic demands caused by growth, pregnancy, or illness (Jarvis, 2012).
Newborns require intense nutritional and metabolic needs as they increase 50% in their length in the
first year of life and double it by 4 years of age (Jarvis, 2012). Breast milk provides specific nutrition

And so, these are some reasons why breastmilk and breastfeeding are actively encouraged in health
care (DHHS, 2014). However, when a new mother refuses to breastfeed it is important for nurses to
explore the positive and negative aspects of breastfeeding from the mother s perspective (Barrientos
Bylaska Davies, 2015). This is because nurses spend the most time with mothers during the pre and
post partum period, as well as care for the infants following delivery (Barrientos Bylaska Davies,
2015). Therefore with effective communication and education on different options for feeding, and by
conducting frequent nutritional assessments of the infant the nurse can ensure adequate nutrition for
the infant. The Best Start 3 Step Breastfeeding Counseling Strategy can be used: by asking the mother
open ended questions, affirming her feelings, and educating the mother on the advantages for both the
mother and the child (Lazarov Evans, 2011). It is important to note that educating the mother with
information should not be overwhelming but should be in small amounts of information that is
relevant for the individual mother (yellowpdf). If the new mother still is undecided about
breastfeeding the nurse should continue to encourage the use of breastmilk, expressed milk, and
pumping (DHHS,

Affordable Care Act and the effect on the economy The Affordable Care Act, also called Obama Care,

exactly is the Affordable Care Act? It was a legislation that addressed the idea that all Americans

Congress, and as the legislation lingers through installment enhancements there is a great deal of

Therefore, many businesses will be forced to hire part time or seasonal employees instead of fulltime.
According to many economists, this bill raises many questions as to why jobs will be eliminated along
with reduced wages and hours. According to the Congressional Budget office, this law will reduce the
amount of labor used in the economy by nearly half (The Budget). This is because many businesses
would prefer to hire part time employees or seasonal in order to bypass benefiting the worker. If a
company hires full time employers they will qualify for health benefits, which will result in higher
expenses for the owner, cutting wages and forgoing new hires. An example of this expenditure lies

American Apparel Essay
VI. Implementation Plan It is clear that American Apparel has a problem that is largely caused by their
controversial advertising materials and the poor reputation of their CEO, Dov Charney. We believe
that this can be repaired by assigning someone new to be in charge of the company s marketing efforts
and refocusing their advertising strategy to be a more wholesome reflection of their company mission.
Charney can, of course, continue to be in charge of the rest of the company as many of his other
practices such as his pro labour stance (Schuette et al., 2012) are well regarded and respected. For the
good of the company, American Apparel s very first step should be to find and hire a new marketing
professional to take over the department and ensure it returns to the company s natural roots. This
professional could be an internal hire from within the company or an external hire such as a

Escape In Romantic Poetry
Repression and the Desire to Escape in Romantic Poetry
Romantic poetry encompasses many things, involving, but not limited to; nature, the sublime, and
strong senses of emotion. Many of the romantic poets wrote about nature, and how nature strongly
relates to that sense of emotion. Of course when you lack emotion, or you are struck with many
negative emotions, romantic poetry shows that nature itself is the remedy that you may require. Not
only does romantic poetry show that nature can cure, but it shows that an escape to nature is required
in order to understand it, and receive the cure that you seek. It shows that you must abandon your past
struggles, and learn to embrace nature. This begs the question; how does romantic poetry attempt to
show that nature is the cure to the issues that you currently face? Many of the romantic poets attempt
to show that through an escape to nature, you are able to become enlightened. William Wordsworth s
The Ruined Cottage exhibits a woman (Margaret) who is surrounded by romantics, which is used to
contrast that which are her struggles, and her lack of romanticism. This essay will look at the desire to
escape the struggles that the characters are facing through a romantic escape to nature. It will display
how Wordsworth s The Ruined Cottage conveys a message of escapism to nature as a cure to hardship
through a character that fails to escape, as well as how John Keats Ode to a Nightingale shows a

  • 2. Social Security Trust Fund Essay The Social Security System runs on the laborer contribution to the trust fund. For the example, when individuals are working, he or she required to contribute into the Social Security Fund: so later in their life when it s their time to retire, they can receive benefits from the social security fund. It has been helping retirees to meet their monthly expenses. The social security policy is a successful intergenerational program that has been serving American aging people for many years. Although, since 2010, the social security trust fund has been paying out more than what they receive through employees. Which is why many experts predict that system will work till 2037. Historically, Social Security trust fund has taken in more money in taxes than it has paid out in benefits. However, from last few decades the worker to beneficiary ratio has been dropping. In 1945 there were 42 workers for each beneficiary, in 1980 it had fallen to 3.2 worker to one beneficiary, expert predicts by 2030 there will be only 2 workers will support each beneficiary. The reason for this change is that the beneficiary are living longer, so they are receiving Social Security Benefits for longer periods of time. While on the other hand, population growth is lower, that means fewer babies per family, and less workers force for later. The less workers per beneficiary will ... From simple carvings on a rock walls to magnificent works of art, such as the sixteenth chapel, art has continued to progress throughout time and it continues to progresses even further. What Is The Reflection Of College Writing Coming to college from a small all girls Catholic high school, I had two years of Advanced Placement English classes under my belt and was more than confident in my ability to produce an organized and well written paper in a timely manner. It was not until I was given the prompt for our first paper in this course that I realized that the college writing process would not be as fearless as I had originally anticipated. Even if I was writing like a college student in high school, I was incapable of freely thinking like one. During those four years, I constantly had religion based conservative beliefs and strong yet reserved feminist ideas engraved in my very being. Plain to say, when it came time to pick the topic of my first college essay, I found that I was only comfortable writing what I was told. I had lost the ability to think for myself and found myself afraid to express my ideas freely. However, throughout the duration of this semester, I have found a voice that is purely my own and have been able to express my thoughts without hesitation. In our first paper of the semester, we were asked to develop an original and interesting claim in response to the ideas of authors in response to another s work. The secondary essay that stuck out to me the most was Douglas L. Peterson s Wisdom Consumed in Confident : An Examination of Shakespeare s Julius Caesar, which calls into question Julius Caesar s importance in his namesake play. I was not sure at the time why this one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Internal And Domestic Conflict During The Cold War Era The words of Lewis carrol Let craft, ambition, spite Be quenched in reason s night, Till weakness turn to might, Till what is dark is light, Till what is wrong is right. The conventional political analysts gave two fold international relationship doctrine war and peace. Pace has meant international peace, while war has referred to major interstate armed conflicts. The security within borders has been identical to national security. National security and national defense have become virtually synonymous, and emphasis has been put on the military aspects of security. The traditional arrangements for peace and security have been balance of power and collective security. However, the post cold war era has brought to the fore the problem of internal and domestic conflict. Globalisation and communication are deeply intertwined in international relations. Probably, there is no globalization without media and communication. The breaking up of space and time, brought about by electronic media, has led to individuals being able to interact with one another and within frameworks of mediated interaction, regardless of social disparities. The countries are no more impermeable to the events and happenings of other nations around the world. David Held and Anthony Mc grew s definition of globalization which denotes the expanding scale, growing magnitude, speeding up and deepening impact of transcontinental flows and patterns of social interaction. ... While the main concern for the loss of wetlands up until the 1970s was draining and filling, and while the laws created then focused on reducing wetland destruction through urbanization, wetlands are still being deteriorated. Today, the main concern is wetland loss created by increased amounts of open water on the marsh surface. The literature suggests that on average, healthy New England marshes have 9% permanent open water on their surface. However, an open water assessment indicates an average of 47% permanent open water on the marshes studied (Kirwan 2013). In Long Island, the marshes are wetter and vegetated areas are shifting from high marsh to low marsh or to mud flat, which are far less productive and give fewer services than the salt marshes and other high marshes that are supposed to be there. I walked up to the barn to milk the cows, and fed freshly picked vegetables to the pigs, afterward I made my way two miles to the flea market to sell my milk and wool. By the time I got back, it had reached dusk, the sky was filled with gorgeous, bright stars that filled every crack of the dark night sky. I was exhausted and filthy, I smelt like dirty socks that hadn t been washed in years. As soon as I got home, I hopped into the shower, the warm water dripping from my hair to my toes. I ran my fingers through the rough tangles in my curly brown hair. As I grabbed the shampoo bottle I could feel my feet burning from the blisters on my the bottom of my feet. I turned knob on the left side of the shower to turn off the water and reached for a dry towel and wrapped it around my waist. Water trickled down my legs as I attempted to dry myself off. I slipped into my favorite warm pajama pants and put on a large teal sweatshirt, then i got into bed and pulled the covers up to my face and immediately dozed off into a deep sleep. I dreamt of the future a life filled of adventure with a young boy that I could call my own. Suddenly, there was a loud, blaring sound coming from across the room. The most important cause was money. These factors resulted in Louis The Sixteenth and Marie Antoinette being executed, and the reign of Napoleon to begin. Class conflicts are a huge component of the French Revolution. The French Revolution began as a result of the lack of the people s happiness over how they were told to live their lives. The clergy was supposed to be kind and helpful, instead of selfish. Since the clergy was greedy, it lead France to be in even more debt and have more conflicts. There were many privileges only given to the upper classes, which made it unfair. At the beginning of the French Revolution, the bourgeoisie became very fed up with the inequalities within the classes. To deal with the inequalities, the estates decided to gather in the tennis courts and take an oath called the Tennis court Oath. The Tennis court Oath stated that they would not leave until a new constitution was created. In the end, a new constitution was created and a new form of government was put into place. The new government was called the national assembly. The national assembly lasted from 1789 1799 but was then abolished as it upset many people in France because the priorities of the National Assemblies decisions did not meet the people s needs. This motif, whether it s referenced as the fog of war, confusion, or simply misconceptions, has progressed intriguing plots for centuries. Often, confusion follows one seeking to find transparent, black and white truths where they don t exist. In modern literature, a prime model of the effects of confusion can be seen in Ian McEwan s Atonement. Briony s experienced state shows how she has identified how her youthful state and her role as a novelist have created her own versions of reality and that she cannot achieve atonement because it is something only she can give to herself. In other words, Briony has come to the conclusion that she cannot be forgiven for actions, that she had lost control of her life when she tried to take control of it at a young age, and how her youthful imagination had upset the worldly balance when it began tampering with the real world. Witnessing the valiant efforts of these men who throw their lives on the line instills an insurmountable sense of pride in the hearts of spectators. Both Lord Alfred Tennyson s poem and Richard Caton Woodville Jr. s illustration entitled The Charge of the Light Brigade incorporate literary terms to express their feeling of pride towards the Light Brigade. His addition of depressions in the ground and use of color scheme are examples of this. He deliberately uses the depressions to indicate how dangerous the environment is, and is proud that even though the men saw cannons being fired and bullets shooting at them, they still go through with their job. They understand that it is their duty to fight for their country no matter what obstacles they may face. The warm colors of the backdrop add onto this feeling because it indicates the artist is content with how the men were willing to put themselves forward. Symbolism is another literary term used by Woodville. For instance, this is shown when the men on horses hold up their sabres. The fact that the soldiers are pointing them towards their enemies show how they are not afraid, aware that they do not stand a chance against the other sides artillery. The artist s feeling is revealed here because although they know that they will be defeated, the men hold their weapons up high, continuing to charge and fight to the best of their abilities. Essay On Raw Gley Soil The Main Soil Types of the UK Terrestrial Raw Soils These are soils consisting predominantly of unaltered mineral material that have no surface/sub surface horizon attributed to soil forming processes (unless buried under a 730cm thick deposit from the Holocene) (Avery, 1980;). These soils do not normally have continuous vegetation cover (Avery, 1980). They occur in very recently formed soil and may have a superficial organic or organo mineral layer less than 5cm thick. Sometimes they have a buried horizon below 30cm of depth. (Thompson, 2007; Jarvis, 1984). Raw Gley Soils Raw gley soils are found within mineral material that has remained waterlogged since deposition (Thompson, 2007). The soils are missing a distinctive top soil and contain gleyed subsurface horizons (Avery, 1980). They also contain a mineral horizon which starts at 20cm and extends below 30cm (Avery, 1980). Jarvis (1984) also states that the soils are distinctly mottled above 40cm depth. Raw gley soil types are mostly confined to intertidal flats (Avery, 1980) or areas that represent various stages in the development of salt marshes (Thompson, 2007). Lithomorphic Soils Contain a distinctive top soil that is humose or peaty and a substratum starting at 40cm in depth which has been altered little (Avery, 1980; Buol, 1997). The soils do not contain a disturbed surface layer, the B horizon is not podzolic, weathered or argillic (Avery, 1980; Buol, 1997) and the soil profile is shallow (Ashman Puri, 2002). ... All the natural resources are contaminated with lethal lapses. Among them the land and water resources are worst affected and under continuous stress with both biotic and abiotic, due to anthropogenic interventions. If we talk about the soul of infinite life i.e., SOIL then it seems to appear the primary recipient by design or accident of a myriad of waste products and chemicals used in modern society. • 26. Reflection Paper On Substance Abuse On October 3rd, I attended a meeting that completely opened my eyes on the issue of substance abuse. The meeting I attended was an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. When thinking about what sort of recovery event I wanted to experience for this experimental activity the first thing that came to mind was Alcoholics Anonymous. I have heard of AA but never had an expanded understanding of the program. The first thing I did was google Alcoholics Anonymous University of Iowa and the rest was a breeze. The first link that appeared was a University of Iowa Hospitals Clinics page that listed open AA meetings. So as stated earlier, on Tuesday, October 3rd from 12 pm to 1 pm in Room 5024 Boyd Tower, I gained a whole new outlook on substance abuse. As soon as I walked into the meeting I was a slightly intimidated at first. The room was small, about the size of a classroom, and had a conference table full of people of all ages and different genders. Since I was just observing I decided to sit at a separate table and take notes on the activities that went on during the meeting. There were about 10 participants taking part in the meeting from ages that ranged from 30 s to 70 s. There was plenty of diversity in the group of individuals based on personalities also, but not much diversity in ethnicities as all of the members of this meeting were white. Once the meeting went underway, I knew I was in for something very interesting. The meeting began with a moment of silence and preamble. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Eventually, Bella and Edward had fallen in love with each other. Edward told her that he is a vampire. At this part of the movie the viewer already know he is and Bella has an idea that he is as well. But, it is an important part to the movie because it shows the viewer how Edward tells her how he really does not want to hurt her but it is hard for him because he can t read her thoughts, Bella is not scared at all. But when the viewer watches the film they want to see Bella s reaction and how Edward responds to it. This is a very meaningful part of the movie and was a great way to show how Bella wasn t frightened that Edward was a vampire and how she trusted him greatly. Bella also knew that Edward would not harm her in any way. Even though Edward was not sure of himself that he had what it takes to be strong and not change Bella s life forever, by turning her into his kind, a vampire. There are many formal film techniques used by the director in Twilight. Such as CGI. In order to portray the supernatural effects the director uses CGI. In the beginning of the film the director uses an establishing shot to show where the movie is taking place. It shows Arizona and then fades into showing how different the small town of Forks is. There countless film techniques in Twilight, but another important one would be a high angle shot when Edward is standing up in a tree and the camera is placed on Bella looking up ... Is this a natural progression or a hiccup in human civilization that we ll soon renounce (Ehrlich 91)? Gretel Ehrlich asks these deep questions in her short informative essay Chronicles of Ice (2004). Ehrlich tells of her travels to The World Heritage glacier Perito Moreno, Argentina. In this short narrative, the author uses pathos and strong human related metaphors, to relay the direct correlation between glaciers and the well being of Earth. • 32. Home Schooling Vs. Public Education When one thinks of education, almost automatically public education comes to mind. Through the years, preferences for educating children have slowly been changing. Home schooling was primarily restricted to religious groups, but in the past several years, it has rapidly been moving into mainstream society (Ray). Parents today are deciding to home school their children, although there are those who still believe public education is better. Home schooling is legal in every state and involves as many as 1.5 million children (Wingert Katrowitz). Critics of home schooling raise questions about academic and social issues. Parents of the home schooled maintain they are not valid. Home schooling is overall more beneficial than public schools in the education of children. The idea of home schooling first became popular in the 160 s and 170 s in religious and hippie communities in an attempt to train children in their values. However, in many states home schooling was illegal until a court battle in the 10 s legalized it. Since that time, this type of education has been growing worldwide. In 18, it was estimated that about 1.5 million children were being home schooled. By 000, the estimate changed to 1.7 million children (Ray). However, when a new mother refuses to breastfeed it is important for nurses to explore the positive and negative aspects of breastfeeding from the mother s perspective (Barrientos Bylaska Davies, 2015). This is because nurses spend the most time with mothers during the pre and post partum period, as well as care for the infants following delivery (Barrientos Bylaska Davies, 2015). Therefore with effective communication and education on different options for feeding, and by conducting frequent nutritional assessments of the infant the nurse can ensure adequate nutrition for the infant. The Best Start 3 Step Breastfeeding Counseling Strategy can be used: by asking the mother open ended questions, affirming her feelings, and educating the mother on the advantages for both the mother and the child (Lazarov Evans, 2011). According to many economists, this bill raises many questions as to why jobs will be eliminated along with reduced wages and hours. This is because many businesses would prefer to hire part time employees or seasonal in order to bypass benefiting the worker. Implementation Plan It is clear that American Apparel has a problem that is largely caused by their controversial advertising materials and the poor reputation of their CEO, Dov Charney. Charney can, of course, continue to be in charge of the rest of the company as many of his other practices such as his pro labour stance (Schuette et al., 2012) are well regarded and respected. Escape In Romantic Poetry Repression and the Desire to Escape in Romantic Poetry Romantic poetry encompasses many things, involving, but not limited to; nature, the sublime, and strong senses of emotion. Many of the romantic poets wrote about nature, and how nature strongly relates to that sense of emotion. Of course when you lack emotion, or you are struck with many negative emotions, romantic poetry shows that nature itself is the remedy that you may require. Not only does romantic poetry show that nature can cure, but it shows that an escape to nature is required in order to understand it, and receive the cure that you seek. It shows that you must abandon your past struggles, and learn to embrace nature. This begs the question; how does romantic poetry attempt to show that nature is the cure to the issues that you currently face? Many of the romantic poets attempt to show that through an escape to nature, you are able to become enlightened. William Wordsworth s The Ruined Cottage exhibits a woman (Margaret) who is surrounded by romantics, which is used to contrast that which are her struggles, and her lack of romanticism. This essay will look at the desire to escape the struggles that the characters are facing through a romantic escape to nature.
