The higher the voltage means the size of current will increase too. The stronger the magnetic field,
the more filings will be attracted by the electromagnet. When the coils will be evenly spread across
the rod, the current across the rod and the magnetic field will be even.
Method:
The apparatus will be set up to form a circuit, as below:
I will use an iron rod and make (5) coils around the rod with a piece of wire. They will be spread as

the other end into a beaker full of iron filings, allowing it to pick up as many filings as possible.
The mass of the nails picked up will be weighed on an electronic scale and recorded. This will be
repeated 2 times so a precise average can be taken. The same experiment will be carried out,

transgressed. While there have been previous studies on apology done with adults, there are very
few empirical studies on children s perspective on apologies. However, previous studies that have
been done on children focused primarily on children s ability to associate apologies with outcomes
of forgiveness and the deservingness of punishment(Darby Schlenker, 1982). Smith, Chen, and
Harris conducted a study to explore children s understanding of the emotional implications of an
apology. The key functions of apology are the expression of remorse by a transgressor and the
alleviation of upset feelings in a victim (Smith, Chen, Harris, 2010). The main goal of the
researchers was to determine whether children understand the emotional functions of the apology.
Research conducted previously on children provides some insight on their understanding of
apology. A study conducted by Kochanska, Casey, and Fukumoto discovered that young children
wouldn t apologize for damaged objects unless they were led to believe they caused the damage
(1995). A recent study also found that preschool children would spontaneously apologize when in

Of course, those Korean immigrants were only fighting for their own economic survival in
America, too. Yet the assertion was understandable: during the 1970s and 1980s,
deindustrialization, which brought unemployment to the middle class, would only exacerbate the
conditions of Los Angeles most impoverished. The few remaining jobs it left to the slums had been
seized and hoarded by Korean immigrants. In the reality of the situation, however, African
Americans, despite their efforts and an ongoing movement for civil rights, were simply incapable
of achieving the same level of entrepreneurial success of Korean Americans during this time period.
The reasons for their shortcomings in Koreatown, in addition to lacking higher education and
professional job experience many Korean immigrants had at their disposal, were primarily due to
the deeply ingrained institution of prejudice against African Americans. African Americans were
helplessly vulnerable to racism regardless of how hard they worked, they would struggle to
compete with other minority groups. Nevertheless, African Americans continued to criticize
Korean Americans as they accumulated the capital and social mobility necessary to move out of
Koreatown. The neighborhood had proved itself a valuable tool for Korean entrepreneurial
ventures, but it still remained a poor urban slum. Besides thriving Korean businesses, historians
Nancy Abelmann and John Lie discovered that Koreatown was home to the highest crime rate in all
of Los Angeles, and a median household income which was half the California state average and
even lower than that of South Central Los Angeles. Other than to keep families perpetually wary,
