Different Topics Of Essays
Writing an essay on the topic "Different Topics of Essays" presents a unique challenge in itself.
The difficulty lies not in the lack of material to discuss, but rather in the vastness and diversity
of potential subjects within this broad theme.
Firstly, defining the scope becomes a daunting task. From narrative to expository, argumentative
to descriptive, the realm of essay topics is expansive. Each type demands a distinct approach,
and navigating through this array requires careful consideration.
Secondly, delving into each category necessitates a deep understanding of its nuances and
conventions. For instance, an exploration of narrative essays would involve analyzing personal
experiences or storytelling techniques, while delving into argumentative essays requires a grasp
of logical reasoning and persuasive strategies.
Moreover, attempting to cover a comprehensive range of essay topics within a single piece
further complicates the endeavor. It demands concise yet informative discussions on various
subjects, balancing breadth with depth.
Additionally, ensuring originality and engaging content poses another hurdle. With countless
essays written on diverse topics over the years, crafting an essay that stands out amidst this vast
sea of literature requires creativity and insight.
Lastly, the challenge extends to organizing thoughts cohesively and presenting them in a
structured manner. From outlining key points to crafting a compelling introduction and
conclusion, the essay-writing process demands meticulous planning and execution.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on the topic "Different Topics of Essays" entails navigating
through a labyrinth of subjects, understanding their intricacies, maintaining originality, and
effectively structuring the content. It's a task that demands both creativity and precision to
deliver a coherent and insightful piece.

Shawshank Film Critque
The Shawshank Redemption Film Critique The Shawshank Redemption is a
brilliant story set in the brutal life of Shawshank Penitentiary. The movie has a
very well structured plot; there is a clear beginning, middle, and end Act I, Act II,
and Act III which all come together as a whole to make a great film. In the movie, a
young banker, Andy, is convicted of murdering his wife and her lover and is
sentenced to Shawshank Penitentiary. In prison, Andy meets and forms a strong bond
with another convicted killer, Red; the narrator of the story. Red plays an important
role in the prison; he can deliver contraband of almost any type into the prison. This
makes him a vital man within the prison s social structure and it is also the reason
that he... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The warden of Shawshank, Norton, also realizes that a man of Andy s skills is
useful. Norton is doing some sort of scam and asks Andy for his help there as well.
One day, Andy hears from another prisoner, Tommy, whose former cellmate had
bragged about killing a rich golfer and a lawyer s wife, and framing the lawyer for
the crime. Upon hearing Tommy s tale, Andy realizes that if this evidence could be
brought before a court, he could be given a new trial and a chance at freedom.
Norton mocks at the story, however, and as soon as possible he makes sure Tommy
pays for his actions. Andy is too constructive and helpful to the warden to be
allowed to go free; furthermore, he knows every element about Norton s corrupt
dealings. After losing his temper with the warden over the issue, and spending a
couple of months in solitary as a result, Andy convince himself that he will never
be set free legally. After many years in prison, Andy shares information with Red
about a mystery secret hidden behind a rock wall, describing exactly how to find
the place and how one day a false identity Peter Stevens will own a small seaside
resort hotel in Mexico. Andy also tells Red that he could use a man who knows how
to get things. Red, confused about why Andy has confided this information in him,
reflects on Andy s continued ability to surprise. So much of the details are important

Reflective Report for Introduction to Financial Accounting
Reflective Report
During the last term, i have had learned some knowledge from the subject called
introduction to finical accounting. For me, this is the first time I had chance to learn
this subject, before that I just heard some information about IFA by reading the FT
newspaper and watching the news. When I start learning that, this subject gives me
the impression that it is difficult to understand. During the past few months, I can say
I already mastered some of the skills in IFA. I can still remember the first lecture I
had learned was the definition of the Accounting Equation , I can conclude that the
most important thing you must master is you should try to distinguish the meaning
of the capital, assets and liability. Assets are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Repeal The Dream Act Of State Tuition Rates At Public...
The first state to adopt a law allowing undocumented immigrants to pay in state
tuition rates at public universities was Texas. This law is so called The Dream Act.
To qualify for this act an immigrant student must have graduated high school or
received a GED in Texas, must live in the state for three years, and sign an affidavit
confirming that they are seeking legal residency. According to the Education
Commission of the States, since 2001, Washington, Utah, Oklahoma, New York,
New Mexico, Kansas, Illinois, and California have adopted similar laws. Some
conservative Texas legislators have filed to repeal The Dream Act. Their opinion is
that it is unfair to legal U.S. citizens from other states that are required to pay out of
state tuition. This act also requires taxpayers to pay higher education costs for
undocumented immigrants. Others argue that many come to America through no
choice because their parents illegally came to the country. They believe it is unfair
to punish the students for their parents decisions. Bills that have tried to take away
the Texas Dream Act have failed thus far. ( Tribpedia: Dream Act | The Texas
Tribune. The Texas Tribune. N.p., n.d. Web. 24 July 2015.)1
The U.S. federal government has been leading in immigration policy. During this
time, the Supreme Court and Congress have also granted states to regulate the lives
and living conditions of immigrants within their borders. The states can regulate

In review of the data collected for this assignment, I have gained greater insight into
the population I serve. Much of the data simply reinforced my assumptions, but
others; like the information on race, has given me a better understanding about the
population I serve and has given me greater insight into the social tension and
conflict that appears to be at the forefront of concerns for many of my students
(Moore, Bagin Gallagher, 2013, p.18). Race is always an issue for many of my
students. After reviewing the census data I noticed that most of the population
identifies themselves as one race, and the racial divide is almost 50/50 between
blacks and whites. There is also a constant reference to skin color among ... Show

St. Louis city is home to several outstanding hospitals and universities. In fact, BJC
healthcare is the largest employer in St. Louis, employing almost 25,000 people
(St. louis regional chamber, 2013). According to the 2007 2011Census, the average
household income for St. Louis city is, however, $33,652. I believe that it is safe
to assume that the majority of the individuals who live in the city do not hold
many the high paying jobs at this institution. If I look at the community through
the eyes of my students, I would probably equate success with being white as well,
simply because the majority of individuals I see in positions of success are
Caucasian. The campus of St. Louis University and Washington University are
flooded with a Caucasian majority. The Doctors and Nurses at BJC may not all be
Caucasian, but they are certainly not African American. Even at my school, the
majority of the teachers are Caucasian. In my district, it appears that the best High
Schools have the fewest number of African American teachers. I am sure that this
model holds true for elementary and middle schools within the district as well. Also,
I know of very few teachers who actually live within the boundaries of the School
District. An analysis of average household income by race, could offer a

Organized crime has many relationships that go along with the group. For the sake
of the assignment, I will be discussing the organized crime of biker gangs or rather
clubs . There are many different relationships dealing with biker gangs, both in and
out of the gang. Many people see them as a nuisance, while others see them as kind
of a group of Robin Hoods.
Many problems that arise with biker gangs are various with them being anywhere
from murder, theft, vandalism, drugs and minor traffic violations. The Hells Angels

Cosmetology Is A Challenging Career
You spend hours studying for tests, quizzes, and State Boards. You work your
hardest to learn every aspect of Cosmetology. You spend a total of 1,500 hours on
your career hours of hands on activity and hours of staring at a book while you
mindlessly try to take in all the information being taught. You have to be passionate
about Cosmetology in order to make it. You have to be open to criticism and harsh
judgement. You have to accept that practice makes perfect. Cosmetology is a
challenging career, and most people think you cannot make money off of this
career. With time and management, cosmetologists can make a profit through
their profession. Many people disagree that cosmetologists can make money off of
their career. People believe that it is hard to build up a clientele in a small town
because clients are normally loyal to their stylists. On top of trying to build up
clientele, a cosmetologist would have to pay booth rent. Booth rent is reserving a
spot in a salon by paying a fee every week or every two weeks. This cost can range
anywhere from $50 $400 per week ( How Much Does ). Cosmetologists also have
to pay for the products they use, therefore, it is argued that they do not make profit.
In small towns, prices appear to be lower than what might be found in a bigger city.
These reasons are why many people argue that cosmetologists cannot make a profit.
In order to make a profit off of Cosmetology, stylists have to be passionate about what
they do. Cosmetologists

to decide what course of action to take in light of the company s imminent financial
difficulties. On

Loewen owned over 1,100 funeral homes and more than 400 cemeteries in the U.S.

Loewen had not yet missed any payments on its debt, and had approximately $30
million of cash on hand. However, this would not be sufficient to meet several large
interest and principal payments that were due over the coming months. A payment
default would only make negotiations with creditors more difficult, and increase the
likelihood of bankruptcy. This possibility would no doubt weigh heavily on the
managers minds as they turned to the important task of restructuring the company s
debts.
The Death Care Business
op yo The primary activities of death care firms include the provision of funeral,
burial, and cremation services, and related products like cemetery plots, caskets,
urns, and gravesite markers. Funeral services and cemetery plots can be sold either
on an at need basis (i.e., at the time of death), or on a
prearranged or pre need basis. In the latter case, payment for a funeral service or
cemetery plot is made in advance, and the proceeds are either held in trust or invested
in an insurance policy (that names the death care firm as beneficiary).

Reaction Paper On Mind Hacking
Mind Hacking: How to Change Your Mind for Good in 21 Days
By: John Hargrave
Hacking the brain involves analyzing, imagining and reprogramming. Mind hacking
is about prevailing over the mental restrictions people experience. I began to look for
mind hacks, techniques to identify and reprogram my problem thinking. I scoured
textbooks of psychology, neuroscience, and computer science (Hargrave, 2016, page
17).
The first key point is that you are not your mind. People should try to remove
themselves from their own minds. People s minds play memories, like videos, of the
past and future, and avoid living in the present moment. Your mind spends most of
its time projecting into the future (plans, dreams, fears), or reminiscing about the
past (memories, regrets, nostalgia) (Hargrave, 2016, page 17). People need to stay
focused on the present and not get distracted by the memories that keep replaying
over and over again. The goal is to retrain the mind.
The second key point is that you can retrain your mind. The most valuable asset
people have is their time and attention. It is important to focus the mind on something
that is beneficial to their own life. There are two types of attention and the first one is
bottom up attention. You also have a reflexive or bottom up attention, which is when
something catches your attention (Hargrave, 2016, page 88). We are distracted by
everything going on in life. The author compares the mind s attention to a dog

Research Paper On Cholecystitis
The most common presentation of cholecystitis in patients is intermittent, moderate
to severe pain in the upper right quadrant of the abdomen, often radiating towards
the back or between the shoulder blades due to accompanying inflammation of the
peritoneum of the diaphragm, which is innervated by spinal cord segments C3 C5,
which also supply sensation to the skin of the shoulder (Munson Traister, 2005)
(Drake et al., 2009). If the biliary tract is blocked or inflamed, patients may present
with jaundice; or if gallstones are passed along the duct, a constant pain may be
experienced in the upper right abdomen (Munson Traister, 2005).

Drainage of the gallbladder (cholecystostomy) may also be used when a full
cholecystectomy cannot be performed or deemed unnecessary. With successful
removal of the gallbladder and subsequent treatment, the prognosis is usually very
good in that the condition is usually cured completely with little lasting effects,
however some minor complications of the procedure may include bile leakage or
minor bleeding (Katabathina et al., 2015). Without surgery, serious complications
such as gangrene, perforation of the gallbladder or infection may occur and prove
fatal (Huffman and Schenker, 2010). Even after removal, patients may experience
abdominal pain for a few days or a change in bowel habits (Elwood,
Where The Red Fern Grows
A dream doesn t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and
hard work. said Colin Powell. This quote is saying that you can t achieve a goal
without trying. In the book, Where the Red Fern Grows, the author, Wilson Rawls,
shows the theme as hard work pays off. From chapter 5 in the story it says A warm
puppy tongue caressed my sore foot. This Shows that he is a hard worker through
the fact that his foot is sore from walking so long. This ties back to the theme
because he spent so much effort and energy walking all the way to get his dogs. This
is the first example of the big theme of the story. In chapter 9 the story says I can t
leave the tree. If I do,the coon will get away. Hard work pays off is clearly shown
Risk Assessment For A Financial Institution Essay
Part A
For the purpose of this paper, I choose U.S Bank, a financial institute. A risk
assessment for a financial institution measures and helps manage compliance,
financial and operational risks associated with both internal and external, activities
and events. In today s operating environment, numerous regulations and standards
make risk assessment not only logical but vital for financial institutions. These are
examples of regulation and laws that governs financial institutions, Regulatory
compliance, Enterprise risk management, Internal audit, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
/Anti Money, Laundering, Fair lending practices, Remote Deposit Capture (RDC),
Lending and credit administration, function, FDICIA compliance, Community
Reinvestment Act (CRA), Automated Clearing House, Information technology, E
Banking (Internet banking), Information security/Gramm Leach Bliley Act, Vendor
management, Lobby operations, and etc.
During the initiation phase the client, U.S bank, identified that GLBA (Gramm
Leach Bliley Act) compliance is their priority for this assessment while they are
implementing Enterprise resource planning (ERP). As a result, the purpose of the Risk
Assessment is identification and measurement of risks related to implantation of ERP
and state of the financial institution toward Gramm Leach Bliley Act compliance.
Then evaluate their likelihood and impact of Risks. Finally, the last step is to
implement a strategy to eliminate or manage and mitigate risk.

Essay on Drug Enforcement Administration
What I Know About the Drug Enforcement Administration The Drug Enforcement
Administration (DEA) works to lessen and eliminate the use, transportation, and sale
of drugs in the United States. They are the only government organized organization
with the purpose of controlling drug traffic. The Drug Enforcement Administration
seems to be most known for their role in stopping drug transportation across borders
by use of DEA officers, police trained dogs, and other tools. To my knowledge the
DEA may have many other roles, possibly including the elimination of drug
manufacturing throughout the world, tracking down and stopping major drug
trafficking organizations within the United States border, US territories, and minor
outlying islands. I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the late seventies and early 80 s, the Drug Enforcement Administration
tightened drug controls and expanded its programs.
The eighties saw the introduction of new technology into the DEA, such as CAT (real
time vehicle tracking system) and newly available cordless phones. Francis M.
Mullen Junior was the acting administrator from 1981 to 1985. In 1982, the Drug
Enforcement Administration officially joined forces with the Federal Bureau of
Investigation (FBI). Many drug investigations were successful during this time
period, including one bust resulting in the seizure of over 1600lbs of cocaine.
In 1984 and amendment to the Controlled Substances Act was passed. The
amendment provided additional authority for the denial or revocation of a
practitioner controlled substance registration based on a demonstration that such
registration was contrary to the public interest as described by the Drug
Enforcement Administration history on www.dea.gov. In 1986, the DEA began
one of its most successful programs, the Drug Free Workplace program. By 1988,
over 2,000 drug tests were conducted (including 1,600 random tests) as part of the
drug free workplace program. During the late 1980s and early 1990 s, Americans
became more aware of drug use and trafficking, however abuse of the drugs
increased significantly. President George H.W. Bush focused national efforts on a
plan to cut both the supply and demand of illegal drugs.

Children s Social Welfare During The 19th Century

Drill and discipline, are what make it possible for a victory in battle. If warriors
going into battle are not accurately trained in the practice of drill and discipline it
can result in a mere senseless blood brawl ending with large amounts of casualties

besides the change in weapons. The first is the size and organization of military units
on the field as show in John Keegan s diagram, cavalry and infantry are spread
throughout the field with artillery placed within infantry units, this is has created a

as a force; not only within a jazz context, but within any contemporary American
musical style. The width of Jarretts musical ability, crossing all genres of music,
including, but not limited to: jazz, classical, and world music, is unmatched by most.
But, for some reason his name, or playing is very rarely mentioned outside of the jazz
idiom. Keith Jarretts profound and philosophical explanations for his music give us a
rare example of an immensely talented musician, who is unafraid to contend with the
public eye. Keith Jarrett was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania on the 8th of May,

His father was supportive in this endeavour as well. He was more into popular
styles of music and would help Keith learn the sounds of the saxophone and the

parents realized that they needed to find somewhere to send him to school,
because the public school wouldn t treat him with enough attention. So, they
enrolled him in private school where his IQ was tested. It was found to be at a
genius level and the six year old boy was then enrolled in third grade instead of
first, where his age would have normally placed him. Keith Jarrett began to give
public performances at a very young age. The famous bandleader, Paul Whiteman,
had a talent searching program on television and when Keith was only five years
old he was taken to Philadelphia to appear on Whiteman s show. Keith was given
an award for his performance on this TV program. When Jarrett was fifteen years
old, the piano lessons stopped. This was due to his parents divorce the year before.
Now that Jarrett wasn t spending hours a day working on classical repertoire he
was free to make his own music and develop his own sound. He started playing

The Invasion of Normandy
Introduction The invasion of Normandy, also known as Operation Overlord or D
Day, was perhaps one of the most important battles in the human history. The invasion
took place on June 4, 1944, at the Coast of Normandy in France. Troops from over
twelve countries, including Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United Statesof
America participated in the fight against Germany. Although the battles were
enduring and hard fought, the Allies achieved the final victory; the Allies were
finally able to set their feet on the European soil again. The Allied invasion of
Normandy was a major turning point of the war that led to the ultimate liberation of
Europe from the Nazi forces.

With a strong backup, the Allied troops were able to advance through the enemy
occupied countries with lightening speed. Therefore, the attack not only led to the
French people s freedom, but also to the quick downfall of Nazi Germany. (Naval

Relief of Soviet s pressure Other than causing the liberation of France and the
establishment of a new battlefront, the invasion also relieved the Soviet Union s
pressure. Before the Invasion, Germany had over two million troops fighting against
the Red Army in the Eastern Front, and many of Soviet s cities were captured. The
Russians fought desperately to protect their cities. However, after the invasion, with
the launch of a new major battlefront in the West, Hitler had to transport many of his

Significance of the Invasion on smaller scales On much smaller scales, the Battle of
Normandy was also quite important. The depressed Europeans, who had been living

Why Is Blood Important In Macbeth
Karma
Imagine being so absorbed with greed and desire that murder is the only way to
satisfy those needs but instead of ending up enjoying those new gains, guilt and
sorrow is all that comes to mind. This is exactly what happens to Macbeth, in
William Shakespeare s play Macbeth where the use of figurative language like
powerful verbs, imagery, hyperbole and metaphor related to blood and sleep, helps to
establish the association of Macbeth s actions to their consequences: self awareness
and continual suffering from the guilt.
Through the use of a powerful verb, hyperbole and sight imagery, Macbeth
strengthens the effect of blood related to the idea that his action will awaken from his
desires, self awareness and guilt. Deeply rooted with the ... Show more content on

The blood is a symbol for the guilt Macbeth feels towards his misconduct. The sight
of the bloody hands are said to pluck out his eyes and this powerful verb suggests
that is forceful, compelling and sudden. The blood serves as a revelation for
Macbeth and that he is now finally aware of what a grave mistake he has made.
Sequentially, Macbeth exaggerates that not even something as large as Neptune s
vast oceans can wash the blood off his hands. Even if he can wash the actual blood
off his hands, no amount of water, which is a symbol for regeneration, can free him
of his enormous guilt. Also, The imagery of the blood turning the oceans pink implies
that instead of the ocean cleansing and purifying Macbeth of his regret, the amount of
guilt he feels is enough to overpower and dirty the whole ocean. It will spread and
corrupt not only him but everything he touches and the world around him, which is
represented as Neptune s oceans. This means that the because of the enormity of his
guilt, the guilt cannot be eliminated. Therefore, as a result of murdering Duncan,
Macbeth is consumed with guilt and this is demonstrated through a powerful verb,
hyperbole and sight imagery all relating to

The main handicap of Women in India, and truly world wide, has been that of
childbirth. The bondage of reproduction , as Tikoo words it, had left Women
reliant on Men for food, protection and shelter (Tikoo pg 3). Tikoo also notes a
Curse of Woman in India which have lowered their place in society which is that of
early marriage. In India, Hindu religious leaders all decreed that a girl should be
married soon after the beginning of puberty (Tikoo pg 23), and that the age of ten
is considered puberty. For Hindu girls, this means that they have little chance at
education past this age, and truly many do not even receive education before. One
reason for this is that many prospective in laws would not want an educated girl,
since they believed that she would not want to be a virtual servant then (Tikoo pg 26).
The plight of Women becomes very apparent in the sphere of marriage. Women are
expected to marry, and many call it the aim of her existence (Billington pg 22).
There is a general belief of parents that if their daughter does not marry, she will go
to hell, and any Woman in this society which does not marry is not seen as a real
Woman. At this point she is forced to go into the workforce.
Other statistics from India are shocking. Seven out of ten non school going children

Discuss The Stakeholders Organizations And People Who

Discuss the stakeholders, organizations and people who are impacted by the public
policy as well as how the different levels of government interact as a result of the
legislation (federal, state, and local)? Everyone is impacted by the public policy
making, whether it s federal, state, and local because the results of the decision
making have a major affect of our economic well being. At the federal level
(Executives) interacts with the Congress to get their policyproposal placed on the
congressional agenda. At the state level they have their own agenda priorities, and
these priorities will affect how states act in the federal system, attempting to influence
the federal agenda in pursuit of state level goals. The emerging literature about states
impacts on internal and external agendas demonstrates the importance of challenging
accepted views of the interactions between federal levels. This process relates the
policy stream as it relates to the text, where it states that consists of policy players,
either inside or outside the government, would like to secure action. For instant, in the
health care area, Senator Ted Kennedy (D. Massachusetts) was active in getting health
care reform on the congressional agenda. At the local level they interact with the
governor to get their program on the agenda. The Governor interacts with Congress,
since all legislation goes through Congress for action. No matter what level of the
government, federal, state, or local, they all

Reviewing The Supreme Court Of Canada Case
Analyzing the Supreme Court of Canada Case:
Carter v. Canada (Attorney General) the Death with Dignity Case
The appellants Lee Carter, Hollis Johnson and Gloria Taylor joined with other
appellants to bring the civil claim which is against the prohibition on assisted
suicide found in s. 14 and s. 241 (b) of the Criminal Code (Carter, para. 20). The
same issue which was brought in Rodriguez v. British Columbia 20 years ago was
declared to be constitutional. In this case, ultimately Lee Carter s appeals succeeded.
The Law Before the Ruling According to s. 14 and s. 214 (b) of the Canada
Criminal Code, the law criminalized the person who aids another person to commit
suicide and it banned the death inflicted on that person. In short, these provisions
did not allow a person to seek a physician assisted death, regardless of being suffered
intolerably from a serious or incurable disease (Carter, para.1).
Questions Before the Court
пЂWhether the Criminal Code provisions prohibiting physician assisted dying found
in s. 241 (b) violates the claimants rights to life, liberty and security (s.7) and rights
to equal treatment (s. 15) of the Charter (Carter, para.29, 40).
пЂWhether the prohibition is justified under s.1 of the Canadian Charter (Carter,
para.2).
пЂWhether the trial judge was bound by stare decisis in Rodriguez (Carter, para.28,

пЂWhether the prohibition accorded with the principle of fundamental justice
(Carter, para. 70).

PROBLEM SET 1
Introduction
Throughout this problem set I will analyze the effects of compound interest. I will
start with problem one assessing as to whether or not a Private in my platoon can
afford a brand new vehicle. I will develop a discrete dynamical system to calculate
the amount of capital left in the loan at any given month. To assess if my discrete
dynamical function is accurate I will interpret my model through graphs and make
sure the answer is logical. I will find out how much my soldier can afford and any
other question asked. If this does not coincide with the amount the actual payment
will be I will give him another recommendation.
Question 1A To complete this first question we first had to make some assumptions.
One of the assumptions is that this Private is in fact a PFC, as a PFC he would be
making about $22,165.20 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The givens and assumptions are all of the values included in the above equation. The
equation above also highlights what we needed to find, the discrete dynamical system
, and the plan was to make assumptions, analyze the givens, and substitute all the
given values into the general discrete dynamical system equation. To further
understand the amount the Private will owe over the next year we have made the
following chart. Figure 1. Time series scatter plot of the balance still remaining on a
loan taken out at a 15% interest rate with a monthly payment of $369.42. The figure
above shows that the Private will not be paying enough per month with the $369.42
in order to pay off the loan in the 60 months provided. The interest rate is too high for
the payment amount to pay off the loan balance in time. The graph is diverging from
the initial value, and will eventually pay of the balance, just not in the allotted time
amount. This can be represented through the graph and the following limit notation.

Fundamentals Of Juvenile Delinquency
This assignment will illustrate that by understanding the fundamentals of combatting
juvenile delinquency and applying the theories to command practice will enhance the
overall knowledge of the material. This document will demonstrate the juvenile
delinquency reduction efforts and programs currently in operation in the Tampa area
community. In addition, I will propose ways to improve the Tampa area community s
juvenile delinquencyprevention efforts. Next, this paper will attempt to apply the
main sociological theories that underlie these interventions that shape the community
s public policy for delinquency prevention. Finally, this paper will identify an
appropriate strategy geared toward preventing delinquency that in consistent with the
Behavioral theory.
When a juvenile commits an act that would be criminal if committed by an adult, the
juvenile is determined to be delinquent. Delinquent acts may include crimes against
persons, crimes against property, drug offenses, and crimes against public order.
Delinquency prevention efforts seek to redirect youth who are considered at risk for
delinquency or who have committed a delinquent offense from deeper involvement in
the juvenile justice system (Deling, 2014).
Characteristically, juvenile delinquency follows a similar path just like normal
adolescent development and children tend to follow delinquent and criminal behavior
rather than engaging in it randomly. Research has shown that there are two types of
delinquents, those in whom the onset of severe antisocial behavior begins in early
childhood, and those in whom this onset coincides with entry into adolescence. With
either type, these developmental paths give families, communities, and systems the
opportunity to intervene and prevent the onset of antisocial behaviors and justice
system involvement (APA, 2017).
Many people try to point the finger to way children become delinquent, blaming
their parents, their poverty, their friends and/or the system; sometime things are not
that simple. Some rich children who have it all still make the same poor choices and
end up on the wrong side of the law. Most poor children who have nothing, still grow
up good and do wonderful things. Many families have that one

1.The development of Conditions of Carriage for airlines.
Airlines, planes, and aircrafts are all words that are used to relate to air
transportation. Air transportations are a special service that is taken on air to reach
certain destinations around the world within hours. A service where our ancestors
would of surly preferred rather than walking and riding horses/ camels that will take
months or years to reach their destinations. It is alleged that the Wright Brothers were
the first people to construct and fly a plane in mid air. However that is not entirely
true, although the Wright Brothers were not the first to build and fly experimental
aircraft they certainly however were the first to invent and construct aircraft controls
that made fixed wings powered flight possible. ... Show more content on

The history of Buddhism was similar to other religions, it was also characterized by
the development of a large amount of movements, schisms, and integration. Since
that, majority of Buddhism had separated into Chinese Buddhism (including China,
Japan), Southern Buddhism (including Vietnam), Tibetan Buddhism. In 21st century,
the distribution of buddhist is: Chinese Buddhism 67.3% (200 million), Southern
Buddhism 28.0% (84 million), Tibetan Buddhism 3.4% (10 million), outside of Asia
1.3% (4.8 million). 2 Scientific Contributions of Buddhism One of the most basic
tenets of Buddhism is as a means of eliminating human suffering (Moksha). Diseases,
as one of the inescapable forms of suffering, explicitly normally explicitly included
within this field, become one kind of opponent that buddhists were dealing with.3
Therefore, in many Buddhism religious texts, numerous words concerning illness,
healing, and medicine were frequently mentioned. With early development of
Buddhism in several centuries, a large amount of medical theories and healing
methods were added into Buddhism texts.4 Henceforth, with the spread of the
religion and translations, those wealths effectively extended to much of Asia, and
also attracted people putting faith on Buddhism. This is one of contributions of
Buddhism on medical science, other contributions includes Measurement of time
(depending of astronomy), Logic and Philosophy, Agriculture and Industry, and so on.

The Fallacy of Nonsense Essay
The Fallacy of Nonsense
Lewis Carroll was a professor of logic, writing among his well known works of
fiction, treatises on the subject of logic and even a textbook, Symbolic Logic. It is
the function of logic to classify and formulate fallacious forms of argument as well
as valid ones. (Burks 367) So is it some of the functions of Carroll s tales of Alice s
Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Presenting different
puzzles, riddles, or what appears to be on the surface nonsense, Carroll in these
books present many questions of logic and indirectly their solutions, challenging the
ability of the reader to believe what has been presented. All his nonsensical puzzles
can be either proved or disproved using some ... Show more content on

Carroll may have chosen to use this particular example to demonstrate a fallacy due
to the fact that the reader already knows that Alice is not a serpent, leaving it to logic
to prove why.
Another fallacy is presented in Alice s Adventures in Wonderland at the mad tea
party. On the two propositions I say what I mean and I mean what I say, (Carroll A/T
61) Alice concludes equivalence, applying the symbolic logic rule of conversion.
Translated into a form which can be applied, the first proposition becomes All I say
is what I mean , notated All S is M , by definition a universal proposition. The
second, assumedly a conversion of the first, is translated All I mean is what I say and
is notated All M is S , also a universal proposition. However, the conversion is
invalid, because a universal proposition converts to a particular proposition. The
valid conversion would be All S is M to Some M is S , or Some of what I mean is
what I say , according to the symbolic rules of conversion. (Copi 194) Now it is
clear that the two propositions are not necessarily equivalent, and the following
propositions as stated by the Mad Hatter, I see what I eat [and] I eat what I see, the
March Hare, I like what I get [and] I get what I like, and the Dormouse, I breathe
when I sleep [and] I sleep when I breathe (Carroll A/T 61) are inferentially invalid,
and allowedly so considering this demonstration of a fallacy.

The Impact Of The Jim Crow Laws
I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will
not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character
Martin Luther King, Jr.
Many remember this speech from the March on Washington, 1963, and the message
conveyed through it, but was this american dream achieved, was the impact of the
speech strong enough to break the racial barrier that our country possed ? Although
they might have gained legal equality, the goal of African Americans being viewed
as equal whites was not obtained. The Jim Crow Laws have been active and utilized
since the end of reconstruction (Andrews). The reconstruction era followed the Civil
War, and worked on resolving / compromising African Americandiscrimination in the
south. The Civil War had started in the April of 1861, and officially ended when
General Robert E. Lee surrendered to the army of Northern Virginia at the
Appomattox Court House ( Civil War...). The war resulted in the freedom of all
African Americans. The racial inequality barrier started to break but slowly began to
emerge in the 1900s, as the Jim Crow Laws were created. In addition to this,
throughout the years 1954 1964, the civil rights movement occurred, and fought
against black segregation and discrimination (Brunner; Haney). The Jim Crow laws
segregated bathrooms, busses, restaurants, and many other commonly used
facilities. These laws were officially eliminated on July 2nd, 1964, as a part of the

the various wreckage in her way, as she saw Jace going deeper and deeper right down
to the ocean s floor. His arms were spread wide and lifeless, as he continued to float
towards the bottom of the sea. He

and the issues arising from logistical hitches, it is essential to understand that the
nature of the invasion was reliant on military force from both Britain and Argentina.
Since Britain was in the dark regarding the potential Argentine invasion until it was
almost too late, then the British Military was faced by many crucial logistical issues.
The 3rd Commando Brigade Royal Marines was the force that would land in the
Falkland Islands to reclaim them in the event that Argentina invaded Falkland.
However, facts reveal that the Royal Marines were faced by many logistical
difficulties, most of which were as a result of poor prior preparation of the
engagement between the Marines and Argentine Commandos. In light of the
prevailing events, the commanding officer of the commando admitted to having
received vague communications regarding the prospective mission. Similarly, it was
unclear on whether the commando was required for the mission although its
company participation was later confirmed (Thomson 1991, 3). In addition to those
logistical hitches, the entire commando was inadequately prepared for a mission of
such magnitude. Thomson (1991, 3) noted that ...he was not allowed to make any
preparations, including bringing his men to shorter notice, nor was it revealed how
the commando, or the company, would get to the scene. Even in a ship steaming
An Overview and History of North Korea
Introduction North Korea is a small country located in HYPERLINK http:/
/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Asia o East Asia East Asia. North and South Korea
were only one country, but it was divided in1945. North Korea s capital city is
HYPERLINK http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyongyang o Pyongyang Pyongyang
which is the largest city and the highest economy in the country as well. I chose
this topic because most people who live overseas do not know about North Korea
and it was a very important part of our history in South Korea. Even though Korea
was divided, I would like to dream about our peace with North Korea. So I wanted
to write about North Korea objectively. The first sub topic I will talk about is the
location of North Korea and how big it is, and then I will move on to talk about its
population and climate. Next I will talk about when and why North and South
Korea were divided and why people in North Korea are not allowed to travel
overseas. Then I will talk about the government in North Korea. Finally, there are
several differences of lifestyle between North and South Korea that I would like to
compare about, such as food, culture, the economy and how people in North Korea
communicate with each other generally. Geography of North Korea North Korean is
a country that located in East Asia in the northern half of the Korean peninsula. On
the north, it is bordered by China on the Yalu River and Russia on the Tumen River.
At its southern border, South Korea is
Panopticon Research Paper
How does the panopticon function to create self disciplining and docile subjects?
Note one way in which this social design works to create self policing subjects and
one instance in which it fails. The system is designed to over see the many and be
supervised by the few. Originally designed for prisons the concept was socially
adopted and used often. Schools use the system of panopticonfunction to over see
the many children, just like a hospital, factories and prisons which all function and
look smiler. Each institute classify the role of worker, pupils, prisoners and patients
making them all conform to a norm. Each has a system set in place that subjects
understand the rules of the institute and must conform to them which creates self
policing. In school like other institute their is a dress code which dictated what I
could not wear. Based on what I could not wear I found my self making purchase for
garments based on the rules of the institute. For example shoulders had to be cover in
school which reflected the dictatorship of my garment purchase of no spaghetti
strapped items.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
W.I. Thomas, however, very famously stated,
Whatever is perceived as real is real in its consequences. Explain the individualistic
nature of this statement in light of a community based theory. If exposure dose not
occur then knowledge is not gained. A child is born into the world blank leaving it
to perceive what is real as what is presented. The community is responsible for what
the child understands as reality. Recently a childhood book The Giver has been
turned into a motion picture which shows the consequence results of perception as
real from panopticon. When present what is real and only shown what is real the
consequences of controls established thru panopticon function becomes over sensitive
and chaos.
Analysis Of The Rivers West By Louis L Amour
Louis L Amour, author of Rivers West and many other famous books and short
stories, was born in Jamestown North Dakota March 22, 1908. L Amour was an
indifferent student and dropped out of school at the age of 15. The next two
decades L Amour traveled the world and held many different jobs, he was a
lumberjack, an elephant trainer, a miner, and during World War 2 he served as an
officer in the tanks corps in Europe. It was not till he came back from World War 2
that he decided to be a writer and he wrote books as wells short stories, but finally
after years his big break came at the age of 46 with the western book Hondo which
later was adapted into a movie done by John Wayne. L Amour married Katherine
Elizabeth Adams in 1956, and they had two children. Over the next thirty years L
Amour wrote many more books and short stories, some were eventually adapted
into movies, and on June 10,1988 Louis L Amour died of lung cancer though he
was not a smoker. This book is a western novel set in the early 1800s about Jean
Daniel Talon and his journey to Pittsburgh. On his way through a swamp one night
he found a man named Captain Robert Foulsham. Foulsham had been stabbed in
the back and was dying; He told Talon he had been stabbed by Baron Richard
Torville, a deserter from the British army. Shortly after Captain Foulsham died, a
mysterious man came along and asked if Talon had killed Captain Foulsham, the
mysterious man later introduced himself to be Jambe de Bois. The two walked
A Leader Within A Sport Organization
Consider the discussion of various sources of power as related to leadership. Provide
a discussion of how a leader within a sport organization (be sure to identify this
leader) uses those sources of power when exercising leadership behavior.
Sport Leadership in the 21st Century discussed the theory of leadership and the
sources of powers that leaders tend to use in order to have influence over a group
or individual and provides the ability to change another person s behavior, actions,
or attitude (5). The sources of power that are mentioned in the reading are: Reward
Power, Coercive Power, Legitimate Power, Referent Power, Expert Power, and
Informational Power.
A leader in a sport organization that I feel showcases all the sources of power
would be the President of the New York Knicks, Phil Jackson. Whether he was in
the position of a player, coach, or administration, he showcased his leadership traits.
While showcasing his leadership skills, the sources of power were evident. Reward
power is the condition in which a leader has the ability or authority to reward their
followers. As President of the team, he completely has the ability to reward people.
For example, when hiring Derek Fisher to coach the Knicks, his contract came
equipped with incentives and bonuses. Although those incentives aren t common
knowledge, one could assume that Fisher would receive a bonus if the Knicks were
to win a certain amount of games or advanced to a certain round in the playoffs.

Jehan Fostanes Nayga s Immune To Reality
Deception Jehan Fostanes Nayga had once said, Know that to understand other
people, is one way of helping them to grow . In Immune to Reality , Daniel Gilbert
states, Research suggests that people are typically unaware of the reasons why they
are doing what they are doing, but when asked for a reason, they readily supply one
(Gilbert 131). Gilbert s essay is based off the foundation of happiness and its
unpredictability. However, happiness is an intangible chimerical feeling that often
times is obtained with understandingand knowledge. To understand and attain
knowledge is a key factor in achieving happiness. However, in order to pursue
happiness, one must understand the implications of knowledge and understanding as
because reality is all about what we make of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

But often times, we are refusing to accept the truth that stands before us because
we want to avoid the pain and suffering that its possesses. The human brain finds it
more convenient to with experiences that are fairly bad whereas difficult, strenuous
experiences tend to be hard to handle because it triggers the psychological immune
system. For the encountering of such situations, humans possess a defense
mechanism. In other words, they choose stay away from shining bright truth and
rather in a dark corner in denial. For petty issues and difficulties human do not
build a defense system. People are incapable of predicting their emotional
response, because they are unaware of how their brains work; therefore they
choose to be self deceptive. We humans have the tendency ignore the facts in front
of us, because we are afraid of what the facts have in store for us. Gilbert displays
examples of how denial can be beneficial to one s happiness as he states, The
deception was elaborate and effective, but it was perpetrated unconsciously, and in
this Osten was not unique (Gilbert

The movie has a very well structured plot; there is a clear beginning, middle, and end Act I, Act II, and Act III which all come together as a whole to make a great film. In the movie, a young banker, Andy, is convicted of murdering his wife and her lover and is sentenced to Shawshank Penitentiary. In prison, Andy meets and forms a strong bond with another convicted killer, Red; the narrator of the story. Red plays an important role in the prison; he can deliver contraband of almost any type into the prison. The warden of Shawshank, Norton, also realizes that a man of Andy s skills is useful. Norton is doing some sort of scam and asks Andy for his help there as well. One day, Andy hears from another prisoner, Tommy, whose former cellmate had bragged about killing a rich golfer and a lawyer s wife, and framing the lawyer for the crime. Upon hearing Tommy s tale, Andy realizes that if this evidence could be brought before a court, he could be given a new trial and a chance at freedom. Norton mocks at the story, however, and as soon as possible he makes sure Tommy pays for his actions. Andy is too constructive and helpful to the warden to be allowed to go free; furthermore, he knows every element about Norton s corrupt dealings. After losing his temper with the warden over the issue, and spending a couple of months in solitary as a result, Andy convince himself that he will never be set free legally. After many years in prison, Andy shares information with Red about a mystery secret hidden behind a rock wall, describing exactly how to find the place and how one day a false identity Peter Stevens will own a small seaside resort hotel in Mexico. Andy also tells Red that he could use a man who knows how to get things. Red, confused about why Andy has confided this information in him, reflects on Andy s continued ability to surprise. So much of the details are important in the

  • 4. Repeal The Dream Act Of State Tuition Rates At Public... The first state to adopt a law allowing undocumented immigrants to pay in state tuition rates at public universities was Texas. This law is so called The Dream Act. To qualify for this act an immigrant student must have graduated high school or received a GED in Texas, must live in the state for three years, and sign an affidavit confirming that they are seeking legal residency. According to the Education Commission of the States, since 2001, Washington, Utah, Oklahoma, New York, New Mexico, Kansas, Illinois, and California have adopted similar laws. Some conservative Texas legislators have filed to repeal The Dream Act. Their opinion is that it is unfair to legal U.S. citizens from other states that are required to pay out of state tuition. This act also requires taxpayers to pay higher education costs for undocumented immigrants. Others argue that many come to America through no choice because their parents illegally came to the country. They believe it is unfair to punish the students for their parents decisions. Bills that have tried to take away the Texas Dream Act have failed thus far. ( Tribpedia: Dream Act | The Texas Tribune. The Texas Tribune. N.p., n.d. Mind hacking is about prevailing over the mental restrictions people experience. I began to look for mind hacks, techniques to identify and reprogram my problem thinking. I scoured textbooks of psychology, neuroscience, and computer science (Hargrave, 2016, page 17). The first key point is that you are not your mind. People should try to remove themselves from their own minds. People s minds play memories, like videos, of the past and future, and avoid living in the present moment. Your mind spends most of its time projecting into the future (plans, dreams, fears), or reminiscing about the past (memories, regrets, nostalgia) (Hargrave, 2016, page 17). People need to stay focused on the present and not get distracted by the memories that keep replaying over and over again. The goal is to retrain the mind. The second key point is that you can retrain your mind. The most valuable asset people have is their time and attention. It is important to focus the mind on something that is beneficial to their own life. There are two types of attention and the first one is bottom up attention. You also have a reflexive or bottom up attention, which is when something catches your attention (Hargrave, 2016, page 88). We are distracted by everything going on in life. The author compares the mind s attention to a dog spotting a

Canada (Attorney General) the Death with Dignity Case The appellants Lee Carter, Hollis Johnson and Gloria Taylor joined with other appellants to bring the civil claim which is against the prohibition on assisted suicide found in s. 14 and s. 241 (b) of the Criminal Code (Carter, para. 20). The same issue which was brought in Rodriguez v. British Columbia 20 years ago was declared to be constitutional. In this case, ultimately Lee Carter s appeals succeeded. The Law Before the Ruling According to s. 14 and s. 214 (b) of the Canada Criminal Code, the law criminalized the person who aids another person to commit suicide and it banned the death inflicted on that person. In short, these provisions did not allow a person to seek a physician assisted death, regardless of being suffered intolerably from a serious or incurable disease (Carter, para.1). Questions Before the Court пЂWhether the Criminal Code provisions prohibiting physician assisted dying found in s. 241 (b) violates the claimants rights to life, liberty and security (s.7) and rights to equal treatment (s. 15) of the Charter (Carter, para.29, 40). пЂWhether the prohibition is justified under s.1 of the Canadian Charter (Carter, para.2). пЂWhether the trial judge was bound by stare decisis in Rodriguez (Carter, para.28, 42). пЂWhether the prohibition accorded with the principle of fundamental justice (Carter, para. 70). пЂWhether the prohibition is rationally

  • 30. Gke4 Task 1 PROBLEM SET 1 Introduction Throughout this problem set I will analyze the effects of compound interest. I will start with problem one assessing as to whether or not a Private in my platoon can afford a brand new vehicle. I will develop a discrete dynamical system to calculate the amount of capital left in the loan at any given month. To assess if my discrete dynamical function is accurate I will interpret my model through graphs and make sure the answer is logical. I will find out how much my soldier can afford and any other question asked. If this does not coincide with the amount the actual payment will be I will give him another recommendation. Question 1A To complete this first question we first had to make some assumptions. One of the assumptions is that this Private is in fact a PFC, as a PFC he would be making about $22,165.20 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The givens and assumptions are all of the values included in the above equation. The equation above also highlights what we needed to find, the discrete dynamical system , and the plan was to make assumptions, analyze the givens, and substitute all the given values into the general discrete dynamical system equation. To further understand the amount the Private will owe over the next year we have made the following chart. Figure 1. Time series scatter plot of the balance still remaining on a loan taken out at a 15% interest rate with a monthly payment of $369.42. The figure above shows that the Private will not be paying enough per month with the $369.42 in order to pay off the loan in the 60 months provided. The interest rate is too high for the payment amount to pay off the loan balance in time. The graph is diverging from the initial value, and will eventually pay of the balance, just not in the allotted time amount. This can be represented through the graph and the following limit notation.

Fundamentals Of Juvenile Delinquency This assignment will illustrate that by understanding the fundamentals of combatting juvenile delinquency and applying the theories to command practice will enhance the overall knowledge of the material. This document will demonstrate the juvenile delinquency reduction efforts and programs currently in operation in the Tampa area community. In addition, I will propose ways to improve the Tampa area community s juvenile delinquencyprevention efforts. Next, this paper will attempt to apply the main sociological theories that underlie these interventions that shape the community s public policy for delinquency prevention. Finally, this paper will identify an appropriate strategy geared toward preventing delinquency that in consistent with the Behavioral theory. When a juvenile commits an act that would be criminal if committed by an adult, the juvenile is determined to be delinquent. Delinquent acts may include crimes against persons, crimes against property, drug offenses, and crimes against public order. Delinquency prevention efforts seek to redirect youth who are considered at risk for delinquency or who have committed a delinquent offense from deeper involvement in the juvenile justice system (Deling, 2014). Characteristically, juvenile delinquency follows a similar path just like normal adolescent development and children tend to follow delinquent and criminal behavior rather than engaging in it randomly. Research has shown that there are two types of delinquents, those in whom the onset of severe antisocial behavior begins in early childhood, and those in whom this onset coincides with entry into adolescence. With either type, these developmental paths give families, communities, and systems the opportunity to intervene and prevent the onset of antisocial behaviors and justice system involvement (APA, 2017). Many people try to point the finger to way children become delinquent, blaming their parents, their poverty, their friends and/or the system; sometime things are not that simple. Some rich children who have it all still make the same poor choices and end up on the wrong side of the law. Most poor children who have nothing, still grow up good and do wonderful things. • 37. The Fallacy of Nonsense Essay The Fallacy of Nonsense Lewis Carroll was a professor of logic, writing among his well known works of fiction, treatises on the subject of logic and even a textbook, Symbolic Logic. It is the function of logic to classify and formulate fallacious forms of argument as well as valid ones. (Burks 367) So is it some of the functions of Carroll s tales of Alice s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Presenting different puzzles, riddles, or what appears to be on the surface nonsense, Carroll in these books present many questions of logic and indirectly their solutions, challenging the ability of the reader to believe what has been presented. All his nonsensical puzzles can be either proved or disproved using some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Carroll may have chosen to use this particular example to demonstrate a fallacy due to the fact that the reader already knows that Alice is not a serpent, leaving it to logic to prove why. Another fallacy is presented in Alice s Adventures in Wonderland at the mad tea party. On the two propositions I say what I mean and I mean what I say, (Carroll A/T 61) Alice concludes equivalence, applying the symbolic logic rule of conversion. Translated into a form which can be applied, the first proposition becomes All I say is what I mean , notated All S is M , by definition a universal proposition. The second, assumedly a conversion of the first, is translated All I mean is what I say and is notated All M is S , also a universal proposition. However, the conversion is invalid, because a universal proposition converts to a particular proposition. The valid conversion would be All S is M to Some M is S , or Some of what I mean is what I say , according to the symbolic rules of conversion. (Copi 194) Now it is clear that the two propositions are not necessarily equivalent, and the following propositions as stated by the Mad Hatter, I see what I eat [and] I eat what I see, the March Hare, I like what I get [and] I get what I like, and the Dormouse, I breathe when I sleep [and] I sleep when I breathe (Carroll A/T 61) are inferentially invalid, and allowedly so considering this demonstration of a fallacy. The 3rd Commando Brigade Royal Marines was the force that would land in the Falkland Islands to reclaim them in the event that Argentina invaded Falkland.
