Analysis Of Citrate And Its Various Salts Essay
Overview:
Citrate and its various salts have been researched extensively and found to be used in most
commercial settings, such as a local supermarket, as food preservatives. Hence, the level of citrate
salts of various metals in our daily food has to be allocated to acceptable levels; as well enforcement
of these acceptable levels requires an analytical tool capable of quick, selective and sensitive detection
and quantification of citric acid levels in our daily food. This analytical method utilizes a graphite
sensor to determine citrate in various beverage samples. It requires the construction of a relatively
simple graphite carbon electrode for the determination of citrate levels. This method uses graphite
carbon electrodes, within a Flow Injection (FI) system, as potentiometric sensors for the determination
of ascorbate in food products. The mechanism supporting this method is the process of adsorption and
subsequent oxidation of ascorbate on the electrode surface and the potential difference after citrate
introduction. The results from this analytical method were validated against a conventional procedure,
i.e. a standard titrimetric method.
There are many analytical methods for determining citrate levels in samples, however, too many of
these methodologies are tedious and time consuming; they require expensive materials and expensive
equipment. Araújo et. al (2011) suggests this analytical method for it is relatively quick and
inexpensive. It does not require large

Analysis Of The Documentary Jesus Camp
Jesus Camp Response
Arguments can be extremely frustrating. Sometimes no matter how accurate a particular perspective
appears to someone, it may be impossible to convince another to feel the same. The differences in
fundamental values between people are responsible for the differences the formation of opinions. The
manner in which people adopt these core beliefs is no mystery, and is explored in the documentary
Jesus Camp. Humans are social animals, and cultural systems have been established since the
beginning of humanity to strengthen the quality of interactions. Human babies are unable to raise
themselves, and require the care of adults to foster. Throughout the process of development, children
adopt the culture presented to them by adults. Children, who are psychologically developing, are
extremely malleable in comparison to adults. This makes them an important focus for an adult
generation looking to succeed their beliefs. This film inspects the strong Evangelical upbringing
several families practice with their children, portraying this in an unflattering manner. All cultures are
different, and these differences should be praised as well as made compatible with modern society as
much as possible.
Indoctrination should be accepted because it is unavoidable and only seems negative to an outsider.
Indoctrination is not exclusive to Evangelicals, and occurs in every culture. Adults are fully aware that
indoctrinating children is very effective in establishing permanent

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Pit Mining
Extraction:
Mining involves digging, blasting, hauling rock, exploring, extracting and refining.
It is a high tech industry.
There are three ways minerals are mined,
I. Open pit mining
Referred as a surface mining technique of extracting rock or minerals from the Earth.
It is used when deposits of commercially useful minerals or rocks are found near the surface.
Metal ores (unpurified metal) are extracted through open pit mining if they are near the surface.
In open pit mining overburden is removed.
Holes are drilled 10 to 15 meters deep and filled with explosives. The rock is blasted apart.
Ore is loaded into large trucks (which may carry 90 to 250 tonnes) by huge shovels.
Quarries are open pit mines that produce building ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Effect on the Environment:
Sometimes there is low forest degradation and sometime sudden and catastrophic clear cutting for
mining.
Deforestation affects the amount of water in soil and moisture in atmosphere.
When there are no trees to keep soil in place, there are more chances of soil erosion.
Heavy rainfall washes soil into rivers.
Essential nutrients are washed out of the soil which results in insufficient growth of new plants.
Deforestation also contributes to decreased transpiration, which lessens cloud formation. This
ultimately reduces the sources of rain.
Forests extract CO2 and pollutants from the air, thus contributing to biosphere sustainability.
When mining happens a lot of waste is dumped which pollutes the land that decreases sustainability.
Mining involves the use of explosives in a large amount and drilling, when explosives are used a lot of
harmful chemicals such as NO2, CO2 and sulphur are released in to the atmosphere which increases
global warming.
Sulphide chemical is the result of acid rain.
Coal is used as a source of energy when mining, when coal is burnt it releases coal ashes in to the
atmosphere that contain heavy chemicals such as mercury, arsenic and

Mass School Shootings in America Essay
American schools became dangerous places at the end of the twentieth century. Children as young as
twelve and thirteen came to school not to study but to shoot as many people as possible. Even as these
students transformed schools into war zones, teachers and other students did what they could to
restore order and to save lives. In doing so, they became unlikely heroes on America s latest
battlefield. Although violence in schools is nothing new, multiple shootings are. According to the 1999
Annual Report on School Violence, the number of such shootings increased from one in 1994 95 to
five in 1997 98. Tragically, the epidemic of violence continued, and in December 1999, one television
newscast called a shooting in Oklahoma the ninth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One such case occurred in Moses Lake, Washington, in February 1996 when Barry Loukaitis killed a
popular boy who had teased him (Egan). But he also killed another student and a teacher. Asked why
he shot the other two, Loukaikis was not able to give any reason. He said mysteriously, I don t know. I
guess reflex took over (Egan). If revenge is sometimes a motive, it is clearly not the only one. Failed
romantic relationships also seem to motivate some shootings, although most romances seem too
casual to explain this level of violence. According to some experts, teenagers especially those who
come from fractured families depend more on each other than [on] their parents (Lore A1). As a result,
they may feel the sting of rejection more deeply than they would otherwise. This emotional pain may
lead to violence. One such case may have occurred in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mitchell Johnson listed
the names of a teacher and four girls whom he planned to kill, including his ex girlfriend (Bragg,
Jonesboro Dazed ). A student in Pearl, Mississippi killed his mother with a butcher knife and shot nine
students. Two died, and one of them was a former girlfriend (Helmore). Sometimes, immaturity or
mental illness played an undeniable role. Such was certainly the case at an alternative school in
DeKalb County, Georgia, where a student gunned down Horace Pierpont ( Bucky ) Morgan. Morgan
who taught reading, poetry, and creative

Main Issues That Affect The Quality Of Access Education
This paper discusses five main issues that affect the quality of and access to education in developing
countries, namely; economic barriers, conflict barriers, climate change barriers, gender barriers, and
language barriers. Definitions of education such as the acquisition of the art of the utilisation of
knowledge (Whitehead, 1966), or making available to each generation the organised knowledge of the
past (Good, 1959, p191), or the means whereby one generation transmits the wisdom, knowledge and
experience which prepares the next generation for life s duties and pleasures (Snelson, 1974, p1)
might be correct, but are too broad and not relevant in the context of this paper. Education in this
paper is defined as the systematic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When children complete their basic primary and secondary education it results in numerous benefits
for the children as well as the society in general. Studies show that completing a basic education
reduces poverty, increases income by up to 10% per extra year of attending school, saves lives of
children whose mothers have a secondary education, reduces the chances of getting HIV and Aids, and
increases economic growth and GDP (Jalan Ravallion, 2000; UNESCO, 2011a). Almost 70 years after
the UN s declaration, and having invested billions of dollars in education, more than 59 million
children of primary school age are not attending school and 883 million people over the age of 15 are
illiterate (UNESCO, 2015; UNDP, 2015). In light of this, the UN set out the Sustainable Development
Goals in 2015 where one of the principle targets is that all children worldwide complete free, equitable
and quality primary and secondary education by the year 2030 (UN, 2015, p17). There are many
difficult obstacles to achieving this goal, and the following section will explain that economic factors,
conflict factors, climate change factors, and gender factors, and language factors are the major issues
that need to be addressed.

Panama Canal Analysis
Major events leading to the construction of the Panama Canal:
The French impose an effort on the construction of the canal but end in a dejected failure.
Within the 1900s, John Hay and Julian Pauncefote come to an agreement that allows the United States
to control the construction and administration of the canal without fortifying it (Hay Pauncefote
Treaty).
Theodore Roosevelt then becomes president establishing great significance towards the idea that the
United States should behold total management over the canal.
The second treaty accomplishes the goal that allows the United States fortification of the canal.
Due to the lower demands introduced to the senate along with the natural disaster of what Mt.
Momotombo could cause, congress favors Panama.
Hay then offers negotiations towards Colombia, but the agreement is rejected.
The superiorities in Washington then exposed the idea that Panama could resolve the Colombian
conflict if they established and won independence as a whole.
A Panamanian group then plans to initiate a revolution with over 500 rebels.
United States Naval ships stop Colombian troops from interfering with Panamanian rebels.
In one day with the help of the U.S. and its naval ships, Panama is granted independence from
Colombia.
A new treaty is established that explains and distinguishes the rights for building the canal while also
protecting Panama.
The canal is then built and finalized after seven years of Roosevelt s passing.

How the Deaf Communicate in a Hearing World Essay
Imagine what life would be like with the inability to hear. Try to envision watching television without
sound or watching an inaudible movie. There is a silence that has way of making the busiest scenes
seem still. Now try to imagine a lively area filled with lots of laughter, roaring music, and a handful of
birds chirping away. That imagery paints a scene of the plain difference between a hearing world and a
deaf one. One world is capable of hearing and the other involves no incoming source of sound
whatsoever. Understanding how deaf culture and how the hard of hearing work and live is important
in order to comprehend the reasons behind why they do the certain things they do such as stare at
others for a long period of time or the reason ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They did not know how to react to the deaf that is until Plato, a Greek philosopher, wrote on the
account of sign language in Ancient Greece which then resulted in a spark in the interests of other
philosophers, writers, and artists (Mirzoeff). On the other hand, Aristotle, another Greek philosopher,
who has been known as one who first recorded a claim about the deaf, theorized that people were only
able to learn languages if the spoken language was heard implying that deaf people were unable to
learn effectively or at all and may as well be uneducated (Jay). It is important to know and realize that
the cause of deafness was not just because of genetics, but because of diseases which then resulted in
the side effect of hearing loss (Mirzoeff). Meningitis, measles, or mumps were common diseases that
would cause the loss of hearing back in the early modern period (Mirzoeff).
In past times, an issue that occurred most often was how to respond to the deaf in terms of education.
They most certainly were not able to hear which meant that they also would not be able to speak
clearly or at all; many questioned how they would be able to comprehend others or communicate with
them in that kind of setting. There were little to no schools that educated deaf children until Thomas
Hopkins Gallaudet, a man with great intellect, decided that what he wanted do in life was to contribute
to the deaf world ( Thomas H. Gallaudet ). Gallaudet, founder of Gallaudet

I Was Auditioning For One
I was auditioning for one of Mr. Kentros choirs. I stood in the hallway nervously as always Rachel
was there practicing for her audition, which was after mine. I m ready for this. I can do it! Coby came
out of his audition with a giant smile on his face. He put his hand on my shoulder, have fun, and good
luck! I took a deep breath as I walked into the choir classroom. Mr. Kentros was sitting at the piano
with sight reading papers in front of him, there was a chair next and a music stand next to the piano
for whoever was auditioning. He had his water bottle in one hand and a pencil, which he was using to
scribble notes about Coby s audition on a piece of paper. I looked over and saw Kentros wife Anni
was sitting at his desk probably there watching the auditions. Ahh! I though. I didn t prepare for both
of them! I can t do it. Leave! Leave now. Just walk out. I felt myself starting to turn around. Stay. You
need to do this. I walked over to where the chair was by the piano. I tried not to think about and extra
person being in the room so I could start my audition. Are you ready? Kentros asked, I didn t answer. I
couldn t stop staring at Anni, she made me more nervous than I already was. She was intimidating. Do
you want Anni to leave? He asked. I felt myself nod. Anni quickly smiled at me and left the room. Did
I just kick his wife out of my audition? Oh NO! I didn t mean that. This is turning very out badly. I

Passing Judgment In Mrs. Turpin s Revelation
When is passing judgment on others wrong? If we keep it to ourselves and do not speak it aloud, is
this okay? All humans judge each other, that is one of our unconscious past times, we do it without
thought to the consequences. We put ourselves in others positions and think we can do better, just as
Mrs. Turpin does, in the story Revelation what if Jesus had said, All right you can be white trash or a
nigger or ugly! (300). Mrs. Turpin prides herself on having good qualities and is sure she would be
respectable even if she were black. As we start our day, we try to find something to wear. Immediately,

Turpin did. Somehow, we have to right the wrong, and clear our conscience, come to grips with it and
learn to live with how we are, or change. Mrs. Turpin was one of the lucky ones; she saw a vision in
the sky, which helped clear things up for her. A visionary light settled in her eyes, she saw the streak as
vast swinging bridge extending upward from the earth through a field of living fire: upon it a vast
horde of souls were rumbling towards heaven. There were whole companies of white trash, clean for
the first time in their lives, and bands of black niggers in white robes and battalions of freaks and
lunatics shouting, clapping, and leaping like frogs. And bringing up the end of the procession was a
tribe of people whom she recognized at once as those who, like herself and Claud, had always had a
little of everything and the God given wit to use it right. She leaned forward to observe them closer.
They were marching behind the others, with great dignity; accountable as they had always been for
good order and common sense. They alone were on key (331). Yet she could see by their shocked and
altered faces that even their virtues were being burned away (332). Ultimately, Mrs. Turpin was shown
that no matter what she thought of herself or how she judged others, God makes his own decisions and
in the end, it may surprise us all, just as it did Mrs.

The New World
After settlement of The New World by the English in the early 17th century, there was a surge of
Englishmen hoping to strike rich, escape the religious government of England, or start a new life with
their family. Specific reasons for leaving England had its respective colonies to travel to. For this
reason, the northern New England colonies and the southern colonies like Virginia and Maryland in
the Chesapeake bay area started to establish ways of life that began to develop very different
lifestyles. The reasoning behind the foundation of each colony is what created such a substantial
amount of difference between two areas of English settlement.
Following the defeat of the Spanish armada, England finally had the power to venture out to the
Americas after hearing about a century s worth of Spanish success in that region themselves. Single
Englishmen in search of wealth began to sail to America, and did not find the gold they were
searching for. It was not until the success from the crop tobacco, did anyone in Virginia prosper. This
set the stage for a huge colony with an economy relying on large plantations of this new staple crop.
The many who sought out the Massachusetts bay colony in New England were likely not going to
strike rich on a plantation, but to either escape the English Church, or to start a new life for their
family. The Massachusetts bay colony was founded by Puritans who wanted to fix, or purify, the
English church and for this reason, were also very

Discuss and describe a moral panic from a social science...
Society is frequently subjected to moral panics when any crime is committed. Humanity repeatedly
blows crimes and incidents out of proportion until the entire society is somewhat controlled. Stuart
Hall, in his book, Policing the Crisis explained that the media, in conjunction with the bourgeoisie,
create moral panics in order to perpetrate fear and maintain control over society, as a whole. (Hall,
2013, s. 1) Moral panics are created as a hazard and rising threat to shock both society and culture into

Marx established the Elite Engineered Model which encompasses the ruling elite manufacturing
certain panics to instil fear in society and divert it away from the real problems they are having. In the
scenario of the James Bulger murder, those with high ranking in society involved in the case, for
example, police, detectives, press and politicians, created the moral panic of the murder in an attempt
to divert the public s opinion away from the shocking crime of two young boys, just 10 years old, not
just abducting a toddler from a busy shopping centre in Liverpool, but also killing him in the most
vicious way and dumping his body on train tracks in an attempt to cover up what had happened. This
is not the behaviour of children; it is the behaviour of evil.
Particularly due to the age of the killers, the ferociousness of the crime and the age of the victim, the

severe anger and resentment towards the children who murdered James Bulger. The public outcry was

Bulimia Nervosa Is An Eating Disorder Essay
Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder that is most commonly found in women of teenage or young
adult age (Herzog, D. B. (1982). This disorder can have very serious effects on the body. Some of
these physical effects include dental problems, inflamed esophagus, EEG abnormalities, abdominal or
urinary disturbances, and changes in blood sugar level. (Muuss, R. E. (1986). ) The mental and
emotional tolls of this disorder can be equally as dangerous. According to Pompili, M., Girardi, P.,
Ruberto, A., Tatarelli, R. (2006) individuals with bulimia nervosa are at a higher risk for committing
suicide. To be diagnosed with Bulimia Nervosa, according to the DSM 5, a person must experience
episodes of binge eating along with harmful behaviors meant to compensate for the binging. These
behaviors often include vomiting, exercising excessively, depriving oneself of food, or using
medications inappropriately to achieve weight loss.

not even develop symptoms. In turn, this halted the awareness of the disease. When the Ebola
outbreak started to spread the usual fierce announcement of the virus was delayed, and even after the
presence of the virus was announced, it had already spread too much. The difference between the two
viruses is the action taken by the countries. Guinea and other Ebola plagued countries, with the help of
international health organizations, took measures to inform and help the public after an initial delay.
This came with obvious effects; Guinea has left the forty two day period (two Ebola incubation
cycles) and entered the ninety two day enhanced surveillance period with no cases whatsoever. During
this period any suspected cases will be immediately handled with extreme care. In Brazil, however,
corruption, poor sewage and water systems, and negligent health care providers have not helped in the
fight against Zika. The rainforests that have been chopped down in Brazil are just one giant breeding
ground for mosquitoes that carry Zika, and this is just amplifying the spread of the virus. Within the
African rainforest, recent periods of drought alternated with wet seasons spread the virus. After a
prolonged period of drought the fruit trees will stop producing fruit and the animals will grow hungry.

Comparison Between Shipping Out And Mark Twain s Opinion
Opinions are the median in which people often voice their stances on topics that they are passionate
about. The way in which opinions are expressed often decide how the viewpoint will be received by
the audience. In the two works, Shipping Out by David Foster Wallace and From the Innocents
Abroad by Mark Twain, two positive and similar attitudes are expressed toward the service staff that
they encounter on their journeys. David Foster Wallace and Mark Twain both construe their praises for
service providers in two very differing manners. The two writers opinions and ideas are received
dissimilarly, with Twain s opinions being easier to consider than Wallace s due to the softer language
and phrasing that he uses when presenting his compliments regarding the service staff. The different
ways in which the writers articulate their point of view to their audiences influences the acceptance of
the writers opinion, which is exemplified in Wallace and Twain s two works. People often are very ...

Examples throughout Twain and Wallace s works establish that the way in which a writer articulates
their opinion correlates with the way in which the opinions is received and accounted for. Twain and
Wallace both connect the reader visually to the characters in their works, however, Twain leaves room
for the reader to form an opinion of the character for themselves. He allows them to decide if they
appreciate the gentle energy of the older traveler or the warmth and attentive nature of the wait staff.
On the other hand, Wallace s demanding language leaves no room for interpretation for the reader. His
extreme and dramatic phrases ultimately cause the reader to question the value of his opinion, which
simply proves that moderate language used in Mark Twain book is more successful than the bold
language that David Foster Wallace chooses to

America Is The Great Melting Pot
America is the great Melting Pot . From an early age every American is taught that America contains a
mixture of the world s cultures in a perfectly blended mixture. We honor and respect all cultures and
invite them to bring their customs here to the United States. But do we really? Take for instance, the
Hmong refugees who involuntarily moved to America. Cultural Assimilation seemed to be forced
down the refugees throats. Keeping their native customs was looked on with horror and disgust.
Cultural Assimilation is the process in which a person s and or groups culture comes to resemble that
of another group. When most immigrants come to the Untied States they are heavily advised to take
up English as their first language. You are advised to learn all about our government, how to drive,
and the value of individualism. The idea of the Great Melting Pot is completely ironic to me. It gives
the impression that we are all one big mixture of cultures. In reality the melting pot spreads thin all
other cultures, but the American culture. Other cultures seem to be lost and assimilated into American
ideologies and cultures. Cultural Assimilation for refugees and others, such as the Hmong can be
incredibly difficult and life threatening. Take the Lee Family, for example. The Lee family arrived in
the United States on December 18th in 1980. They left their country seeking political asylum and
ended up in the U.S. They experiences first hand how different life

A Personal Legend In Paulo Coelho s The Alchemist
What is a personal legend? In The Alchemist the king of Salem says that one s personal legend is
...what you have always wanted to accomplish (21). This novel is about a young boy who travels the
desert, pursuing his personal legend, trying to find his treasure. Meanwhile, he learns how to connect
with the world and many other valuable lessons, including his own personal legend. Paulo Coelho
writes about person legends all throughout the book. He doesn t just talk about Santiago s personal
legend, he talks about many other other too. He starts out by writing about other s personal legends
and how they never followed their dreams or tries to achieve it. He uses the baker in the plaza as an
example. He tells the reader about the baker when the old man points at him and tells Santiago: When
he was a child, that man wanted to travel, too. But he decided first to buy his bakery and put some
money aside. When he s an old man, he s going to spend a month in Africa. He never realized that
people are capable, at any time in their lives, of doing what they dream of (22 23)
This is the first example of personal legend that Coelho uses. The baker never followed his personal
legend because he opened a bakery. This is not the only time Coelho showed someone failing or not
going after his or her dream. He also talks about a crystal merchant who didn t achieve his dream
either. As Santiago travels through the desert trying to achieve his personal legend he meets many new
people,

The Movie Whale Rider By Niki Caro
In the movie Whale Rider by Niki Caro, the theme is subjugation of women and the main character
Paikea manages to surpass the patriarchal beliefs so she is a winner which is good for the community
and that makes for a happy ending.
The main event of this movie is when the whales answer Paikea s call for help and end up stranded on
the shore. The locals are unable to move the whales, after many attempts they give up and walk away
with sadness. Then, Pai climbs up on the whale and rides it out to sea, making the rest of the whales
follow. At that moment she is unafraid of dying and goes underwater with the whale. The whales mean
a lot to their community because they believe that their ancestor Paikea was saved by the whales.
In the movie, Paikea decides to live up to her grandfather s expectations and to do so she challenges
the tradition by following her own path as a leader. An example of her determination is when she
learns how to fight with a taiaha by spying on the lesson through the window when Koro had told her
she couldn t learn it because she wasn t a boy. Her grandfather is the person with whom she is always
in confrontation. In fact, when the Marae was beginning she sat at the front row. Koro then tells her to
sit at the back because she is a girl, when she refuses to move he sends her away. On the inside, Pai is
trying to make Koro proud and to be a role model but she has to break the rules set by Koro and the
old traditions. Throughout the story she grows up

what they lived for made a drastic change after the bubonic hit. During the Middle Ages, the thought
of God dominated everyones mindset, the thought of heaven excited everyone, the though of hell
created a sense of fear. The afterlife was portrayed as perfect heaven by the Roman Catholic Church,

Cost Variance Theory In Healthcare
My experience with Classical Statistical theory is not as extensive as most healthcare organizations.
However, classical statistical engages in the practice of one of the most commonly used means to
determine which cost variances to investigate is the control chart, (Cleverly, Song, Cleverly, 2011).
Ultimately, the output observations with set limits must fall between set parameters of upper and
lower control limits on the chart. Therefore, the process is claimed to be in control. Furthermore, the
purpose of the control charts can be established for determining when a cost variance should be in
control. There are ample ways for classical statistical theory to help in healthcare organizations and
the infinite variations. According to (Olatunde, 2009), some examples of common causes of natural
variability in health care include a department s waiting times, re measurement of a ... Show more

sensitive analysis is designed to grasp the effect a scope of variables has on a given result. An

divides these variables and afterward records the scope of conceivable results. A situation

2.4. HDFS File System
Hadoop distributed file system is written in Java for Hadoop framework, it is scalable and portable FS.
HDFS provide shell commands and Java application programming interface (API). [12] Data in a
Hadoop cluster is broken down into smaller pieces (called blocks) and distributed throughout the
cluster. In this way, the map and reduce functions can be executed on smaller subsets of larger data
sets, and this provides the scalability that is needed for big data processing. [12] A Hadoop cluster has
nominally a single namenode plus a cluster of datanodes, although redundancy options are available
for the namenode due to its criticality. Each datanode serves up blocks of data over the network using
a block protocol specific to HDFS. The file system uses TCP/IP sockets for communication. Clients
use remote procedure calls (RPC) to communicate with each other.
Fig 5. HDFS Architecture [19]
HDFS stores large files across multiple machines. It achieves reliability by replicating the data across
multiple hosts, and hence theoretically does not require redundant array of independent disks (RAID)

Marvel Mistakes
Mistakes or Marvels?
Whoops! Percy Spencer left the chocolate bar in his pocket while going to the Magnetron! What? It
melted? Let us discuss that. Mistakes are made worldwide every day, whether it is forgetting your
homework or dropping that antique jar your mother treasures. Although, most people do not pay
attention to the good things that come out of making mistakes. For example, I mentioned Percy
Spencer and the chocolate bar. He did not mean to leave the chocolate bar in his pocket, but when he
did, he made a discovery that everyday people use to their advantage nowadays. Percy Spencer, after
making one little mistake, created the microwave. In the article titled How a Melted Bar of Chocolate

They would believe that mistakes only lead to bad things. I have to somewhat agree with them,
because mistakes do lead to bad things sometimes, but other times, they lead to the most great
discoveries we have ever known. For an example of the opposing opinion, the passage Lost Cities,
Lost Treasure states in paragraph 8 that Schliemann s careless actions erased important clues to Troy s
past. In explanation, since Schliemann only cared about the fame for discovering the lost city of Troy,
the lost city lost its wonder in the drilling and finding process. Many artifacts and important items
were destroyed. That is an example of a mistake leading to a bad thing. Although, the article also does
state that Together, they (Schliemann and Calvert) did prove there had been an ancient city called
Troy. So, there was also a big discovery out of the bad mistake. In total, when you, like the article In

are wrong. You are wrong, because problems lead to

How Does Eliza Change

Higgins and Pickering said something rude to her she would yell Aaaaaa oooow oooohh. Before she

Also, whenever they made her angry she would start yelling back and sometimes use improper

What Is The Libertarian View Of Justice
Most people strive to have a comfortable way of living, whether that be from working hard or signing
up for assistance. While some libertarians are under the impression that everything should be each
individual s own responsibility, they sometimes do not realize how much free assistance they have
gotten throughout their lives. On the other hand, people who get assistance from the government or
donors sometimes take advantage of other people instead of working hard. This position paper will
focus on two philosophers that state opposing views of justice: John Rawls and Robert Nozick. While
John Rawls stands behind justice as fairness, the libertarian view of justice is presented by Robert
Nozick. John Rawls justice as fairness is the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It would not be fair if a child from a poor family was refused education because they did not have the
means to pay for it. It is only just if each child has the same opportunity to develop or expand their
talents. One of Rawls most popular ideas is the veil of ignorance. In this veil of ignorance, everyone is
forced to ignore their own personal circumstances so they can be less bias when making a decision on
justice. One must imagine that they have no idea where they are placed in the society. If a rich person
imagines being in the worst possible class there is, their views on justice are likely to change. If they
were once resentful of extra taxes coming out of their paychecks to help the poor, imagining
themselves being poor would make them understand those extra taxes. Conversely, if a poor person
imagines being extremely rich, they would not like to have restrictions on how much money they are
allowed to make. Furthermore, this social contract is made voluntarily by members of the society to
make it the most just. Since all of the people could potentially be in the same financial standing, they
will give up what they feel is necessary to make the best bargain. It makes the rich realize that they
would still want the best education for their children even if they were poor. It also makes them
recognize the need for decent healthcare to all of the different classes. Adequate housing would also
be wanted for everyone if people did not know what class they would be

Similarities Between The Yellow Wallpaper And A Rose For...
In the story, A Yellow Wallpaper the narrator tells her story of her life living with her husband and she
comes off as a distressed, morose wife. In A Rose for Emily Emily is struggling with keeping a
tradition in her family and is also and also distressed. Both women deal with the struggles of their
husbands who do not give them attention or treat them well. They both show similarities in their
qualities of life. In William Faulkner s, A Rose for Emily and Charlotte Perkins Gilman s The Yellow
Wallpaper, both have female characters who have to endure and overcome struggles of loneliness,
isolation, insanity, and depression as the female protagonist.
In A Rose for Emily she grows up with her father who was very controlling over Emily s life. He
controlled all aspects of her life such as any men who were interested in Emily were sent away by her
father. This kept Emily isolated from everyone in the town and she never left her house. According to
Watkins The Structure of A Rose For Emily, The inviolability of Miss Emily s isolation is maintained
in the central division, part three, which no outsider enters her home. In The Yellow Wallpaper it is
shown that the female narrator is desolate and is put in an attic room away from everyone. It is also
revealed that she is not treated fairly or well taken care of when her husband who is a physician does
not help her get better. From Gender in The Yellow Wallpaper Carmen Esposito says However, her

  • 2. Analysis Of Citrate And Its Various Salts Essay Overview: Citrate and its various salts have been researched extensively and found to be used in most commercial settings, such as a local supermarket, as food preservatives. Hence, the level of citrate salts of various metals in our daily food has to be allocated to acceptable levels; as well enforcement of these acceptable levels requires an analytical tool capable of quick, selective and sensitive detection and quantification of citric acid levels in our daily food. This analytical method utilizes a graphite sensor to determine citrate in various beverage samples. It requires the construction of a relatively simple graphite carbon electrode for the determination of citrate levels. This method uses graphite carbon electrodes, within a Flow Injection (FI) system, as potentiometric sensors for the determination of ascorbate in food products. The mechanism supporting this method is the process of adsorption and subsequent oxidation of ascorbate on the electrode surface and the potential difference after citrate introduction. The results from this analytical method were validated against a conventional procedure, i.e. a standard titrimetric method. There are many analytical methods for determining citrate levels in samples, however, too many of these methodologies are tedious and time consuming; they require expensive materials and expensive equipment. Araújo et. al (2011) suggests this analytical method for it is relatively quick and inexpensive. It does not require large ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Analysis Of The Documentary Jesus Camp Jesus Camp Response Arguments can be extremely frustrating. Sometimes no matter how accurate a particular perspective appears to someone, it may be impossible to convince another to feel the same. The differences in fundamental values between people are responsible for the differences the formation of opinions. The manner in which people adopt these core beliefs is no mystery, and is explored in the documentary Jesus Camp. Humans are social animals, and cultural systems have been established since the beginning of humanity to strengthen the quality of interactions. Human babies are unable to raise themselves, and require the care of adults to foster. Throughout the process of development, children adopt the culture presented to them by adults. Children, who are psychologically developing, are extremely malleable in comparison to adults. This makes them an important focus for an adult generation looking to succeed their beliefs. This film inspects the strong Evangelical upbringing several families practice with their children, portraying this in an unflattering manner. All cultures are different, and these differences should be praised as well as made compatible with modern society as much as possible. Indoctrination should be accepted because it is unavoidable and only seems negative to an outsider. Indoctrination is not exclusive to Evangelicals, and occurs in every culture. Adults are fully aware that indoctrinating children is very effective in establishing permanent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Pit Mining Extraction: Mining involves digging, blasting, hauling rock, exploring, extracting and refining. It is a high tech industry. There are three ways minerals are mined, I. Open pit mining Referred as a surface mining technique of extracting rock or minerals from the Earth. Effect on the Environment: Sometimes there is low forest degradation and sometime sudden and catastrophic clear cutting for mining. This ultimately reduces the sources of rain. Forests extract CO2 and pollutants from the air, thus contributing to biosphere sustainability. When mining happens a lot of waste is dumped which pollutes the land that decreases sustainability. Mining involves the use of explosives in a large amount and drilling, when explosives are used a lot of harmful chemicals such as NO2, CO2 and sulphur are released in to the atmosphere which increases global warming. Sulphide chemical is the result of acid rain. Coal is used as a source of energy when mining, when coal is burnt it releases coal ashes in to the atmosphere that contain heavy chemicals such as mercury, arsenic and ... • 5. Mass School Shootings in America Essay American schools became dangerous places at the end of the twentieth century. Children as young as twelve and thirteen came to school not to study but to shoot as many people as possible. Even as these students transformed schools into war zones, teachers and other students did what they could to restore order and to save lives. In doing so, they became unlikely heroes on America s latest battlefield. Although violence in schools is nothing new, multiple shootings are. According to the 1999 Annual Report on School Violence, the number of such shootings increased from one in 1994 95 to five in 1997 98. Tragically, the epidemic of violence continued, and in December 1999, one television newscast called a shooting in Oklahoma the ninth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One such case occurred in Moses Lake, Washington, in February 1996 when Barry Loukaitis killed a popular boy who had teased him (Egan). But he also killed another student and a teacher. Asked why he shot the other two, Loukaikis was not able to give any reason. He said mysteriously, I don t know. I guess reflex took over (Egan). If revenge is sometimes a motive, it is clearly not the only one. Failed romantic relationships also seem to motivate some shootings, although most romances seem too casual to explain this level of violence. According to some experts, teenagers especially those who come from fractured families depend more on each other than [on] their parents (Lore A1). As a result, they may feel the sting of rejection more deeply than they would otherwise. This emotional pain may lead to violence. One such case may have occurred in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mitchell Johnson listed the names of a teacher and four girls whom he planned to kill, including his ex girlfriend (Bragg, Jonesboro Dazed ). A student in Pearl, Mississippi killed his mother with a butcher knife and shot nine students. Two died, and one of them was a former girlfriend (Helmore). Sometimes, immaturity or mental illness played an undeniable role. Such was certainly the case at an alternative school in DeKalb County, Georgia, where a student gunned down Horace Pierpont ( Bucky ) Morgan. Morgan who taught reading, poetry, and creative ... • 6. Main Issues That Affect The Quality Of Access Education This paper discusses five main issues that affect the quality of and access to education in developing countries, namely; economic barriers, conflict barriers, climate change barriers, gender barriers, and language barriers. Definitions of education such as the acquisition of the art of the utilisation of knowledge (Whitehead, 1966), or making available to each generation the organised knowledge of the past (Good, 1959, p191), or the means whereby one generation transmits the wisdom, knowledge and experience which prepares the next generation for life s duties and pleasures (Snelson, 1974, p1) might be correct, but are too broad and not relevant in the context of this paper. When children complete their basic primary and secondary education it results in numerous benefits for the children as well as the society in general. Studies show that completing a basic education reduces poverty, increases income by up to 10% per extra year of attending school, saves lives of children whose mothers have a secondary education, reduces the chances of getting HIV and Aids, and increases economic growth and GDP (Jalan Ravallion, 2000; UNESCO, 2011a). Almost 70 years after the UN s declaration, and having invested billions of dollars in education, more than 59 million children of primary school age are not attending school and 883 million people over the age of 15 are illiterate (UNESCO, 2015; UNDP, 2015). In light of this, the UN set out the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015 where one of the principle targets is that all children worldwide complete free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education by the year 2030 (UN, 2015, p17). There are many difficult obstacles to achieving this goal, and the following section will explain that economic factors, conflict factors, climate change factors, and gender factors, and language factors are the major issues that need to be addressed. • 7. Panama Canal Analysis Major events leading to the construction of the Panama Canal: The French impose an effort on the construction of the canal but end in a dejected failure. Within the 1900s, John Hay and Julian Pauncefote come to an agreement that allows the United States to control the construction and administration of the canal without fortifying it (Hay Pauncefote Treaty). Theodore Roosevelt then becomes president establishing great significance towards the idea that the United States should behold total management over the canal. The superiorities in Washington then exposed the idea that Panama could resolve the Colombian conflict if they established and won independence as a whole. A Panamanian group then plans to initiate a revolution with over 500 rebels. United States Naval ships stop Colombian troops from interfering with Panamanian rebels. In one day with the help of the U.S. and its naval ships, Panama is granted independence from Colombia. A new treaty is established that explains and distinguishes the rights for building the canal while also protecting Panama. The canal is then built and finalized after seven years of Roosevelt s passing. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. How the Deaf Communicate in a Hearing World Essay Imagine what life would be like with the inability to hear. Try to envision watching television without sound or watching an inaudible movie. There is a silence that has way of making the busiest scenes seem still. Now try to imagine a lively area filled with lots of laughter, roaring music, and a handful of birds chirping away. That imagery paints a scene of the plain difference between a hearing world and a deaf one. One world is capable of hearing and the other involves no incoming source of sound whatsoever. It is important to know and realize that the cause of deafness was not just because of genetics, but because of diseases which then resulted in the side effect of hearing loss (Mirzoeff). A visionary light settled in her eyes, she saw the streak as vast swinging bridge extending upward from the earth through a field of living fire: upon it a vast horde of souls were rumbling towards heaven. There were whole companies of white trash, clean for the first time in their lives, and bands of black niggers in white robes and battalions of freaks and lunatics shouting, clapping, and leaping like frogs. And bringing up the end of the procession was a tribe of people whom she recognized at once as those who, like herself and Claud, had always had a little of everything and the God given wit to use it right. She leaned forward to observe them closer. They were marching behind the others, with great dignity; accountable as they had always been for good order and common sense. They alone were on key (331). The New World After settlement of The New World by the English in the early 17th century, there was a surge of Englishmen hoping to strike rich, escape the religious government of England, or start a new life with their family. Specific reasons for leaving England had its respective colonies to travel to. For this reason, the northern New England colonies and the southern colonies like Virginia and Maryland in the Chesapeake bay area started to establish ways of life that began to develop very different lifestyles. The reasoning behind the foundation of each colony is what created such a substantial amount of difference between two areas of English settlement. Following the defeat of the Spanish armada, England finally had the power to venture out to the Americas after hearing about a century s worth of Spanish success in that region themselves. Single Englishmen in search of wealth began to sail to America, and did not find the gold they were searching for. It was not until the success from the crop tobacco, did anyone in Virginia prosper. This set the stage for a huge colony with an economy relying on large plantations of this new staple crop. The many who sought out the Massachusetts bay colony in New England were likely not going to strike rich on a plantation, but to either escape the English Church, or to start a new life for their family. The difference between the two viruses is the action taken by the countries. Guinea and other Ebola plagued countries, with the help of international health organizations, took measures to inform and help the public after an initial delay. This came with obvious effects; Guinea has left the forty two day period (two Ebola incubation cycles) and entered the ninety two day enhanced surveillance period with no cases whatsoever. From an early age every American is taught that America contains a mixture of the world s cultures in a perfectly blended mixture. No one questioned them because there was nothing else to believe in until the bubonic plague hit. The Bubonic Plague did not discriminate, and hit the wealthiest, the poorest, the most educated people, leaving the world in shock. They began ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By 2021, a $250 million portion of the original $600 million plan will be completed thanks to a hefty donation of $50 million by billionaire Harold Simmons. • 31. Cost Variance Theory In Healthcare My experience with Classical Statistical theory is not as extensive as most healthcare organizations. However, classical statistical engages in the practice of one of the most commonly used means to determine which cost variances to investigate is the control chart, (Cleverly, Song, Cleverly, 2011). Ultimately, the output observations with set limits must fall between set parameters of upper and lower control limits on the chart. Therefore, the process is claimed to be in control. Furthermore, the purpose of the control charts can be established for determining when a cost variance should be in control. There are ample ways for classical statistical theory to help in healthcare organizations and the infinite variations. According to (Olatunde, 2009), some examples of common causes of natural variability in health care include a department s waiting times, re measurement of a ... In addition, sensitive analysis is designed to grasp the effect a scope of variables has on a given result. An affectability examination is not the same as a situation investigation. The affectability examination divides these variables and afterward records the scope of conceivable results. A situation examination, then again, depends on a situation. Depending on the examiner and the business or hospital organization, they may need to change the variables inside the model to adjust to the specific situation. Architecture of GlusterFS is a powerful network written in user space which uses FUSE to connect itself with virtual file system layer [9]. Features in GlusterFS can be easily added or removed [8]. GlusterFS has following components: GlusterFs server storage pool it is created of storage nodes to make a single global namespace. Members can be dynamically added and removed from the pool. HDFS File System Hadoop distributed file system is written in Java for Hadoop framework, it is scalable and portable FS. HDFS provide shell commands and Java application programming interface (API). [12] Data in a Hadoop cluster is broken down into smaller pieces (called blocks) and distributed throughout the cluster. In this way, the map and reduce functions can be executed on smaller subsets of larger data sets, and this provides the scalability that is needed for big data processing. [12] A Hadoop cluster has nominally a single namenode plus a cluster of datanodes, although redundancy options are available for the namenode due to its criticality. Each datanode serves up blocks of data over the network using a block protocol specific to HDFS. The file system uses TCP/IP sockets for communication. Clients use remote procedure calls (RPC) to communicate with each other. Fig 5. HDFS Architecture [19] HDFS stores large files across multiple machines. It achieves reliability by replicating the data across multiple hosts, and hence theoretically does not require redundant array of independent disks (RAID) storage on ... • 33. Marvel Mistakes Mistakes or Marvels? Whoops! Percy Spencer left the chocolate bar in his pocket while going to the Magnetron! What? It melted? Let us discuss that. Mistakes are made worldwide every day, whether it is forgetting your homework or dropping that antique jar your mother treasures. Although, most people do not pay attention to the good things that come out of making mistakes. For example, I mentioned Percy Spencer and the chocolate bar. He did not mean to leave the chocolate bar in his pocket, but when he did, he made a discovery that everyday people use to their advantage nowadays. Percy Spencer, after making one little mistake, created the microwave. In the article titled How a Melted Bar of Chocolate Changed Our Kitchens, it says that Percy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They would believe that mistakes only lead to bad things. I have to somewhat agree with them, because mistakes do lead to bad things sometimes, but other times, they lead to the most great discoveries we have ever known. For an example of the opposing opinion, the passage Lost Cities, Lost Treasure states in paragraph 8 that Schliemann s careless actions erased important clues to Troy s past. In explanation, since Schliemann only cared about the fame for discovering the lost city of Troy, the lost city lost its wonder in the drilling and finding process. Many artifacts and important items were destroyed. That is an example of a mistake leading to a bad thing. Although, the article also does state that Together, they (Schliemann and Calvert) did prove there had been an ancient city called Troy. So, there was also a big discovery out of the bad mistake. In total, when you, like the article In Praise of Careful Science, say that ...most mistakes cause problems, not progress, I will tell you you are wrong. You are wrong, because problems lead to ... Higgins is one of the main reasons Eliza changed her external and internal identity. In some parts of this story you could see the old her come through the new her. When Higgins and Pickering said something rude to her she would yell Aaaaaa oooow oooohh. Before she was turned into a Duchess she would always make this sound when something did not go her way. • 36. What Is The Libertarian View Of Justice Most people strive to have a comfortable way of living, whether that be from working hard or signing up for assistance. While some libertarians are under the impression that everything should be each individual s own responsibility, they sometimes do not realize how much free assistance they have gotten throughout their lives. On the other hand, people who get assistance from the government or donors sometimes take advantage of other people instead of working hard. This position paper will focus on two philosophers that state opposing views of justice: John Rawls and Robert Nozick. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It would not be fair if a child from a poor family was refused education because they did not have the means to pay for it. It is only just if each child has the same opportunity to develop or expand their talents. One of Rawls most popular ideas is the veil of ignorance. In this veil of ignorance, everyone is forced to ignore their own personal circumstances so they can be less bias when making a decision on justice. One must imagine that they have no idea where they are placed in the society. If a rich person imagines being in the worst possible class there is, their views on justice are likely to change. If they were once resentful of extra taxes coming out of their paychecks to help the poor, imagining themselves being poor would make them understand those extra taxes. Conversely, if a poor person imagines being extremely rich, they would not like to have restrictions on how much money they are allowed to make. Furthermore, this social contract is made voluntarily by members of the society to make it the most just. Since all of the people could potentially be in the same financial standing, they will give up what they feel is necessary to make the best bargain. It makes the rich realize that they would still want the best education for their children even if they were poor. • 38. Similarities Between The Yellow Wallpaper And A Rose For... In the story, A Yellow Wallpaper the narrator tells her story of her life living with her husband and she comes off as a distressed, morose wife. In A Rose for Emily Emily is struggling with keeping a tradition in her family and is also and also distressed. Both women deal with the struggles of their husbands who do not give them attention or treat them well. They both show similarities in their qualities of life. In William Faulkner s, A Rose for Emily and Charlotte Perkins Gilman s The Yellow Wallpaper, both have female characters who have to endure and overcome struggles of loneliness, isolation, insanity, and depression as the female protagonist. In A Rose for Emily she grows up with her father who was very controlling over Emily s life. He controlled all aspects of her life such as any men who were interested in Emily were sent away by her father. This kept Emily isolated from everyone in the town and she never left her house. According to Watkins The Structure of A Rose For Emily, The inviolability of Miss Emily s isolation is maintained in the central division, part three, which no outsider enters her home. In The Yellow Wallpaper it is shown that the female narrator is desolate and is put in an attic room away from everyone. It is also revealed that she is not treated fairly or well taken care of when her husband who is a physician does not help her get better.
