analyzed the changes seen in bacteria when adding to differing DNA plasmids;
pUC18 and lux. To arrive to the most accurate results possible we had to have the
E. Coli bacteria made permeable to the plasmids. So it was prepared with calcium
chloride. One group of bacteria was given the pUC18 plasmid, and the other group
was given the lux as well as the pUC18 plasmids. We then proceeded to incubate
them in different containers. Some had ampicillin where as some had none. This
was done in order to observe the effect of pUC18, and lux growth patterns. A
control with neither plasmid was used to keep a basis for our experiments.
Bacteria that had transformed and taken in the lux plasmid without ampicilin were
able to illuminate, and only bacteria that gained the pUC18 were capable of
surviving with ampicillin. The results observed reveal how foreign DNA can be

From the beginning, Emilia can be seen as one who is entirely loyal and faithful to

I will be focusing my essay on Blade Runner: The Final Cut version released in 2007,
discussing and exploring through the semiotics, themes, motifs and artistic
representation that can be found within the film.
Plot
The original Blade Runner is a 1982 film directed by Ridley Scott, depicting the
future of life in Los Angeles in 2019. A company called the Tyrell Corporation has
created a line of intelligent androids, known as replicants, who are virtually
identical to human beings and are titled as the Nexus series. These replicants are
only used on off world colonies for fighting and working in extreme working
conditions on the other planets. The replicants are declared illegal on Earth after a
mutiny by Nexus 6 models in an off world colony. Four of the Nexus 6 model
replicants have managed to get access to Earth. The story focuses on Rick Deckard
(Harrison Ford), who is part of a special police squad known as blade runners, whose
task is to hunt down and retire (kill) any replicants on Earth.
