Ten Easy Steps to a Successful 401 (K)
Ten Easy Steps to a Successful 401(k) For the majority of working Americans, the most common
vehicle for owning mutual funds is through their employer s retirement plan, but very few people are
making the most of this mainstay of retirement planning. Over the holidays, I had occasion to
socialize with a group of very bright, successful people who are saving for retirement. We talked of
many things, including their investments. And, sad to say, not one of them could coherently explain
what he or she was doing, and why. Everybody, it seems, wants a quick, easy answer. And for those
who are unwilling to take the trouble to figure out what they should be doing, the easy answers usually
come from slick sales pitches and superficial media ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rebalancing is simple. Your personal investment plan should have a target asset allocation in
percentages for each asset class or fund. Once a year, apply those percentages to your total balance,
then sell the funds with too much in them and use the proceeds to buy more shares of those with too
little. Follow this as a mechanical discipline, whether or not you feel like it. Step 7: Know your plan
Read your plan literature or find somebody who can explain it to you so you understand. Know the
your rights. Know any restrictions on moving money from one asset to another and especially, know
everything you can about your investment options. Step 8: Beware of tax traps If you leave your job
voluntarily or involuntarily, you are entitled to cash in your 401(k) assets and take the money with
you. This is a poor idea. You give up your hard earned savings and the money they can make for you.
Worse, you ll have to pay taxes on whatever you take out, plus a possible early withdrawal penalty. If
you leave your job and want to transfer your 401(k) assets into a Rollover IRA, make sure the money
never touches your hands. Have it transferred directly from one custodian to another. That way your
savings will keep their tax deferred status and you won t take the risk of facing an unexpected and
unintended tax bill. If you leave your job and want to transfer your 401(k) assets into a

Revolutionary War Without The Pamphlet Common Sense By...
The freedom of press sounds like one of the things we shouldn t be focused on, especially with
everything else that is going on in our world. Why exactly is this an important freedom? I have always
found it to be a little bit strange that we are protecting the right to say hateful things about people you
barely know. It doesn t sound like it should be as important as things like torture or murder.
Sometimes words can hurt, but they can also be used to do great things. Think about all of the
influential books, newspapers, and websites that have helped to change the world for the better. Our
country would have never won the Revolutionary War without the pamphlet Common Sense, by
Thomas Paine. He used his knowledge of the country s issues with

PC Vs Mac Essay
When purchasing a personal computer, buyers used to grapple with the decision: a Macintosh from
Apple Computer or a Microsoft based PC?
Microsoft effectively won that operating system debate years ago and claims more than 90% of the PC
operating system market.
But in the push to legally sell digital music, Apple and Microsoft, and their incompatible file formats,
are at it again. Consumers are in the position of having to choose as hardware makers line up behind
either Microsoft or Apple s software format.
Hewlett Packard s recent surprise decision to snub longtime PC partner Microsoft and offer Apple
music software on its PCs shows how unpredictable this battle may be.

H P will sell Apple s iPod under its own name and use Apple s iTunes music software on PCs
beginning this summer. In announcing the alliance, H P CEO Carly Fiorina said it had been working
on developing its own portable music player, but concluded that Apple s iPod . . . and iTunes . . . were
the best.
Despite the hoopla for the H P/Apple deal, Microsoft says its momentum hasn t slowed. You ll
continue to see more (music) stores coming out in Windows Media, says Dave Fester, general
manager of Microsoft s Windows Media division. Just Monday, Coca Cola in Europe opened a new
Windows Media based online store. Others are in the works, including Microsoft s own.
The battle takes shape
Last year, Microsoft signed up company after company (including Wal Mart, Musicmatch and Best
Buy) to sell digital music in the Windows Media format. It clearly had the companies on its side even
while Apple was winning the heart of consumers.
Apple effectively kick started the legitimate digital music business last April with the introduction of
the iTunes Music Store. Originally just for Mac users, Apple opened it to Windows users in October.
Apple now claims sales of 30 million songs and a 70% market share.
Apple s iTunes success was helped by the smash success of the iPod. Some 735,000 were sold in the
last quarter alone, and 2 million to date. Microsoft says there are 4 million portable devices that can
play Windows Media including units from Dell, Creative

Race And The Space Race
I created this piece to further elaborate on the book s main premise of the lack of support for our space
program in our current age. Before I touch on that we have to touch on our origins. We as a race have
lived as pioneers exploring the earth and colonizing any new place we could find. It all started in the
fertile crest in the middle east. They ventured forth and spread across the earth. Then came the period
of stagnation where no exploration was happening and the space race started. We went back to our
roots as pioneers exploring beyond the bounds of our small blue planet. America as a whole was the
economic powerhouse of the age and the space race caused our education standards to be raised as a
whole leading to a greater nation. However,

Neolithic Time Essay
The Neolithic time was a period in human development on technology it was called the last stage of
the Stone age. The Neolithic was a very phenomenal period in megalithic architecture, that distributed
agricultural procedure, and the use of lustrous stone tools. During this aspiring time with the
development in agriculture, humans began to completely transform the environments and places they
live upgrading everything left and right. A thriving portion of the humans began to clear up the all the

Terrorism Is Terrorism
In this modern era, being exposed to many sources of news media, we find out how terrorism is
growing and devastating many parts of the world. Thinking of terrorism, people tend to see images of
intensive war, mass killing, ISIS or 9/11 attack. But what is really terrorism? And how does it happen?
Terrorism is defined as the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, as a
mean to create terror or fear, in the pursuit of political, religious, or ideological aims. This definition
fits the images we see on the news, or in other words, images that are readily available in our mind,
bombings, fire, terror, enduring people, and aggressive terrorist. As availability heuristic is not always
accurate, this general definition also does not tell us the whole picture of the reality and how terrorism
arises.
We usually err to think that terrorists are born evil and destructive, so it is their internal disposition
that rules the actions. For that reason, we underestimate the influence of the situation (religious
conflict, for example). The fundamental attribution error first explains why and how we
misunderstand terrorism.
Most problems of terrorism can be interpreted using social psychology to reveal how people and
individuals interact, relate, and impact each other. It is shocking to realize how similar terroristic
issues are to ordinary thoughts of everyday life, with the only difference that it is taken to the extreme.
The in group bias explains why

Athenian Citizenship Essay
Athenian Citizenship: Aristotle s Exclusions
In Aristotle s interpretation of citizenship, it is clear that citizenship is a fluid title, applied to an
exclusive group of men only after meeting certain qualifications, and revocable upon meeting certain
others. While Aristotle is unable to answer clearly who should properly be called a citizen and what a
citizen really is (p.85), he dedicates several chapters to explicating who is not a citizen in an attempt to
determine who is. Though Aristotle cannot come up with a composite definition of a citizen that
applies to all citizens, he provides reasons for the exclusion of several groups of Athenian inhabitants
for citizenship based on a variety of arbitrary factors designed to keep ... Show more content on

Though the numbers used here are an over simplified breakdown of the population, when slaves,
foreigners, the elderly and artisans are taken into account as well, it is clear to see that citizens are a
minority in Athens, tasked with representing and legislating for the population as a whole.
In Aristotle s view, arbitrary factors like common residence and the ability to use the law for the
purposes of suing and being sued are not adequate to warrant citizenship. Ancestry and lineage are
insufficient alone to grant citizenship. The logic behind this is that foreigners and slaves are entitled to
residence utilization of certain portions of the law, but these rights are granted by a treaty, not because
they have earned an equal place in Athenian society as rightful citizens (III.1, p.85). While these
residents are afforded the protections of the laws, they are not allowed the opportunity to participate in
the legislation process to determine said laws. Though the opportunity for political participation is not
afforded to them, the inability to participate in the administration of justice and holding office is still
held against them as a condition of non citizenship.
Contrary to our modern day notions of citizenship, wherein many

French Horn Evaluation
Late Bloomer
A good word to describe the first sound that came out of my French horn could be called a screech.
When I first looked at the instrument I originally thought the bell faced upward in the air. You would
never believe that only two years later I was able to sight read pieces of music and preform them in a
matter of an hour during a workshop at Disney world. The quick improvement that I made in my
music ability showed my natural tenacity and persistence.
Growing up I was always around musicians, and music interested me, but I was always steered
towards more academics. I finally got into music in High School. It made me rather nervous because
here I was sitting in a room with people who basically played instruments and sung within the womb,
and I was unable to even read music. So at first I asked my friends who were all music aficionados.
Every second thing that came out of my mouth was a question about music. What was tone? How do I
play a scale? What is moderato? And how on earth was I going to catch up to these kids? So especially
in band I took control and I took my French horn home every weekend and practiced for hours,

A Multi Disciplinary Team
Introduction
In 2011 there have been 49,900 women and 350 men that have been diagnosed with breast cancer
within the United Kingdom (Cancer Research UK 2014). Individuals who are undergoing
investigation for suspected breast disease can be referred for breast care services with symptoms or are
recalled from the breast screening programme. The National Health Service Breast Screening
Programme (NHSBSP) was introduced in 1988 which was due to the proposition of the Forrest Report
that had been published two years prior (1986).
This essay will attempt to discuss the theoretical principals of population screening as well as the
importance of diagnostic breast care services, with the influence of a multi disciplinary team.

The age range 50 69 is where mortality rate reduction was seen at its greatest. The main evidence used
in favour for breast screening and Forrest report came from the studies and randomised control trials
conducted in Sweden.
On the contrary Gotsche Olsen (2000) disputed the findings of the Swedish randomised trials,
claiming screening for breast cancer is unjustifiable, as there is inconsistency within the randomisation
of the trial, as two of these trials found no effect of screening on mortality. A meta analysis was
conducted by Gotsche Olsen on the Swedish Trials results. This meta analysis found that for every
1000 women screened biennially throughout 12 years one breast cancer death is avoided, whereas the
total number of deaths is increased by six . Other studies that were conducted in New York, Canada
and Edinburgh had also been criticised on the methods of randomisation and validity.
The Forrest report stated that there must be a clinical examiner, radiologist and a pathologist within a
multidisciplinary team to ensure that there is expert knowledge available in each health profession.
Breast Services should all have breast surgeons, nurses, radiographers, pathologists, radiologists,
oncologists, breast care services manager and clerical staff, this is what is recommended by the NICE
2002 for the successful running of the unit. The use of mammography is the first line of diagnostic
investigation for women in the NHSBSP, Forrest

Lotus Bassinet Research Paper
Lotus Bassinet Review If you have been searching the web for baby products that you can fall in love
with, chances are good you have seen the Lotus Travel Crib and other products. The reason for this is
simple. Lotus designs items that make it easy to travel with a little one. It does not matter whether you
are traveling to Grandma s house or across the country to stay in a motel on vacation. Unsure if you
should consider it? Check out our Lotus Bassinet review to find out more about this extremely
versatile brand of bassinets, play yards, and travel cribs. The Difference Between Lotus and Other
Cribs/Bassinets/Playards Most bassinets are too bulky to be easy to carry along on adventures outside
of the home. Most of them do not fold up or fit inside of a storage container the way that the Lotus
does. Travel cribs are still rather large cribs that are difficult to carry if you must travel via a plane.
Playards are the same way. Many of them are playpens that are designed in a way that allows them to
fold up flat, but not fold up small. Lotus products fold up small. They are designed for traveling, but
they are comfortable enough to allow you to use them without worry when at home. The Guava
family Lotus crib folds up small enough to be carried in a large shoebox if you are going to choose the
bassinet style crib. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Human Response On An Ignition Hole For The Vehicle Essay
The focus of this paper is to highlight the human response in relation to an action, in this case turning
the key in an ignition, once it has been inserted into the correct ignition hole for the vehicle. The aim
is to identify the brain response with the haptic perceptions and to a lesser extent the visual
perceptions that are involved when completing the instruction set.
Before I begin to explain how we complete this instruction I would like to explain some functions of
our brain and how it relates to completing this task.
Before anything can begin the process to turn the key in the ignition must begin with the decision to
complete the task. The area responsible is called the prefrontal cortex (PFC) which is the cerebral
cortex located in the frontal lobe. Although this area is implicated in planning complex cognitive
behaviour, personality expression, decision making and moderating social behaviour (Yang, 2009) we
are primarily interested in its effect on decision making in relation to our instruction set chosen.
This region of the brain is considered to be responsible for alignment of thoughts and actions in
accordance with internal goals, in this case getting the key to the ignition and turning the key the
appropriate amount to complete the action of turning on the vehicle.
Another area of the brain responsible for assisting in the completion of our task is the premotor cortex
also lying in the frontal lobe just anterior to the primary motor cortex. Although this area

Critique Of The Cadian Ball
During the late 1800s, many new ideas came with the industrial revolution. With these ideas came
thoughts on how to change the way our sociality was working. Writers especially brought out the
opinions of they these radical ideas, by writing and spreading these ideas. At the Cadian Ball fails to
advocate a change in the social system, by mixing races and classes, but at the same time, and
supports the norm of marring someone of your own class, by have all four of the main characters
marry into the same class.
Within the story all the characters speak the same language, giving everyone an equal ground,
showing that everyone has something in common. During the story the narrator tells us, They
belonged to the younger generation, so preferred to speak English. (Chopin 6). This tells us that they
all speak the same language, with shows that they are all similar, but we can also infer that because
they state that they do this because they are younger, that the older generations, did not do this and
strengthened the divide between classes by speaking different languages.
The Cadian Ball advocates a change in the social class by featuring multi class and race couples, but
does not fully support the statement by having the characters marry others of their class. They talked
low, and laughed softly, as lovers do. (6) Alcee and Calixta are stated as lovers, even though this is the
1800s, there is a mixed race couple, but the story doesn t portray this negative. They also show

Stereotypes In Ernest J. Gaines A Lesson Before Dying

16 December 2015 Setting a novel in the south during the 1940s bring upon certain racial stereotypes
that are deeply rooted in the mainstream culture. While these stereotypes may not always be true, they
are extremely difficult to ignore and escape from. In Ernest J. Gaines s novel A Lesson Before Dying,
Grant Wiggins struggles to break away from the social norms of Bayonne Louisiana, and finds it
challenging to convince others of his own worth. Although Grant has led a successful life, and has a
respectable career, his white counterparts still treat him as a second class citizen. Jefferson is another

While Jefferson had a trial with a jury of his peers, the general consensus of Bayonne is that Young
Black men had a predisposition for violent crimes. During his supposedly fair trial, Jefferson is treated
as less of a human. The prosecution states, Gentlemen of the jury, look at him look at him look at this.
Do you see a man sitting here? Do you see a man sitting here?...Do you see a modicum of intelligence
(Gaines 7). The prosecution goes on to call Jefferson a hog , and Jefferson takes this to heart. These
men saying these terrible things about Jefferson are in positions of high power, and it s only natural to
believe what these powerful men are saying. Jefferson later refuses food, complaining that, I m a old
hog...just a old hog they fattening up to kill for Christmas (Gaines 83). Auger s A Lesson about
Manhood: Appropriating the Word in Ernest Gaines s A Lesson Before Dying is a great analysis of
how power is derived in the novel, and why the society in Bayonne is arranged the way it is. Auger
suggests that Gaines tries to show that there are social institutions such as education, religion, and law
that are overdue for a change. Grant is a teacher, and is considered to be an intelligent man with some
degree of power. This is contrary to the social norms in 1940s Louisiana,

Why Do Asthma Sufferers
The Australian average statistic for people that smoke is 23.3%. The employed adult average statistic
is 84%. Knowing this we can roughly estimate that in the average workplace 1 out of 4 5 people will

people in the workplace will suffer from some form of asthma. Unfortunately, having smokers allowed

Gender Equality In Iron Jawed Angels
Tuesday, November 8 2016 was the first time I was old enough to vote for the presidential election.
After watching Iron Jawed Angels, I realized how much I have taken for granted in my life and how
incredibly grateful I am for all of the women that have fought for women equality including; Alice
Paul and Lucy Burns. There are still on going debates in todays society about gender equality, but it s
crazy to see how 100 plus years ago some of the rights women have now, going to school and voting,
didn t exist. In 1912, Alice Paul and Lucy Burns fought together among other women for the right to
vote. They fought for not only white women, but women of all races. Throughout Iron Jawed Angels
the women fought hard, even during the time of war and while they were in jail, for their rights and
equality. It wasn t until August 26, 1920 that women could vote. Before that women could not attend
college or pursue training for most professions (Woods, 57). During the movie, Alice Paul was
creating a friendship with a male who taught her how to drive which is interesting because in todays
society almost every women knows how to drive or has the privilege to drive but back then only men
drove or could even afford a car because they had the right to work. In the movie Iron Jawed Angels,
Senetor Leighton and his family are described as a stereotypical family during their time period. He
provides for his wife and two kids while, his wife stays at home and doesn t work.

Narmer Palette Essay
The Narmer Palette originates from Hierakonpolis, Egypt and dates back to the Early Dynastic period.
The Palette is a double sided two dimensional raised relief with multiple registers on each side. It is a
statement of the political authority in early Egypt and uses depictions of the king, those subservient to
the king, and the king s ability to cause change to demonstrate political authority. For example, on
both the recto and the verso the king is depicted as the largest figure, this use of size places the figure
into a social perspective, revealing its importance and providing enough information to infer the
figures social status as a ruler. Additionally, the recto and the verso of the Palette show the king as
being the only figure wearing a large headdress and wielding a scepter; both of which can be seen as
symbols of power that further implicate the importance of the king. Subsequently, the king s location
at the top of the social hierarchy would enable him to have control over other people. The Palette first
illustrates this control on the recto in the largest register. This register depicts the king standing in ...

My High School
When I began high school I couldn t wait for the four years to be over so I would not ever have to set
foot in classroom again. The idea of finishing thirteen years of school was all I could think of. I knew
my parents expected me to finish strong. I knew I would and do my best to finish strong enough to
keep them off my back. The plan seemed simple enough. But, my sixteenth birthday came during my
sophomore year, that is the year everything that I thought I knew changed. My parents let me know
that I needed to earn my own spending money and found me a job. This was the day that I made a
serious change. Of what I thought my future should be.
My freshmen year of high school I did not expect much to change from middle school, just more work
along with unwanted stress of moving on to high school. I had to the wrong attitude going into my
classes. I felt as if the teachers were all against me and they all wanted me to fail or just torture me.
The daily frustration of having to go to school everyday seemed to be unbearable. I tried to fake being
sick or to tired to go to school on a daily basis. All that got me through the seemingly endless days
was the thought of never having to step foot on a school campus again.
All I could focus on was that I was nearing that bright light at the end of the tunnel. I understand that
people may not understand how I got so burned out so quickly when it came to school. What I believe
burned me out so quickly was the pressure. I love my parents

Causes Of Failure Of Bridge Roof Vibration
CAUSES OF FAILURE OF BRIDGE
Deck Vibration Since the well known bridge, Tacoma Narrows Bridge was destroyed in 1940 the
designers and owners started to concern more about the stability of bridge deck. For short and long
term of monitoring the deck, the instruments of geophysical are increase used which are;
1. accelerometers and tilt meter
2. strain gages
Figure1: Tacoma Narrows Bridge with severe vibration
Figure 2: Tacoma Narrows Bridge after collapse due to wind fluttering
These are several problems that had been summarized;
1. The stability of aerodynamic of bridge deck when subject to high wind.
2. Some effect on stability of bridge decks for long term, impact by fatigue that caused by cyclic
stresses which are including increased loading from the traffic, temperature changes and trucks that
have heavy load.
3. The bridge decks stability during earthquakes.
All the geophysical techniques are applied to overcome problems above. Those are principally specific
to the vibration monitoring and some environmental monitoring which is vibration monitoring
including strains, displacements, rotation and acceleration, while environmental monitoring including
wind and temperature. All of these are affected

Similarities Between Gattaca And The Chrysalids
This poster represents the similarities between the movie Gattaca and the book the Chrysalids. In both
stories the setting takes place in a distant dystopian future. Also both stories show the different types
of dystopian futures. In Gattaca it shows a future ruled by order and in chrysalids it shows a future
ruled by chaos, I showed this by drawing a clean city and a destroyed city. Another similar theme
between the stories is perfection, in both the movie and the book. Society thinks you can only be
accepted if you are deemed perfect any abnormality and you are labeled an invalid or deviant. To find
any abnormality the government has to examine your body, in Gattaca they look a lot more deeper, at
your DNA, but in Chrysalids they look

My Life Chances within Canadian Society Essay
I, as a Chinese Canadian, with respect to my social location based on race, class, gender, and sexuality,
believe that they will affect my life chances in the post industrial societies such as Canada. First of all,
let me briefly describe my family background. I was born in the communist country of China. My
family immigrated to Canada in the year of 1992. We were an average income family in China.
However, after moving into Canada, we became a family that lies below poverty line. Since my
parents both do not have the chance of receiving a high education, they have difficulty of
understanding and speaking decent English. Thus, their life chances in Canada are limited. I was the

From researches, they showed that there are substantial differences in average annual income between
some racial groups. The history of Canada is composed mostly by European origin immigrants. They
had been settling in Canada for over a century. Their status, power, and privilege in Canada will be
higher than most recent immigrants of other non European countries in terms of their length of period
settling in Canada. For those who are the second or third generations in Canada, they will have a well
established background or social tie to Canada. They will receive information from the contact with
many relatives, friends or co workers of higher standing occupation. In such a hierarchical
bureaucracy structure in Canada, they will have easier access to precise and official information from
higher hierarchy if their friends or relatives are in a senior position. Part of the reason why people with
the same amount of human capital may receive different economic rewards is that they posse different
amounts of social capital. Social capital refers to people s networks or connections (Brym, Lie,
Nelson, Guppy, McCormick, 2003; 190). The individual with the stronger relationship with the society
are more likely to succeed. As a minority group in Canada, we lack the strong bond with the major
society to have strong bonds of trust, mutual aid, and mutual respect with senior positioned

The Debate Over Abortion

Laws vs. The Right to Life
The debate over abortion has divided Americans into polarized sides since the Supreme Court s 7 2
decision in Roe v. Wade on January 22, 1973, where the Court deemed abortion a fundamental right
under the United States Constitution. The lawsuit began when Norma McCorvey became pregnant
with her third child in 1969 and could not get a legal abortion in Texas. With her attorneys, they filed a
lawsuit. Roe v. Wade reached Supreme Court appeal in 1970 (Rovner). At this time, there were a few
related court cases whose decisions directly affected McCorvey s case. Griswold v. Connecticut
decided that there is a right to privacy in the Constitution. Younger v. Harris decided that federal
courts could not hear civil right cases by a person currently being prosecuted for a matter arising from
that claim. In U.S. v. Vuitch, the court ruled to criminalize abortion with the exception if the mother s
life was endangered and it also labeled abortion as an emergency medical procedure (Masci). These
cases laid out a foundation for McCorvey s attorneys as the rulings were then applied to her case,
benefitting their arguments tremendously.
This official governmental interference allowed for federal action and resulted in legalized abortion
nationwide under the three tiered system regarding the three trimesters in a pregnancy.. However,
despite this landmark decision in U.S.

Women s From 1914-1928
The Changing Role and Status of Women s From 1914 1928 We are studying how far the role and
status of women changed between 1914 and 1928. It includes different aspects of life for the women;
it will also refer to how and why life changed during the war. In the early 20th century women s lives
were a repeated routine, which unfortunately was the same every single day. Women were not allowed
to work unless she desperately wanted a job. She would have to work extremely hard to become a
nurse or a teacher but the pay was very low. The women could also work as servants and worked in

Women in the WAAC were thought to be of a lower class. They quickly gained a bad reputation for
sexual misconduct with the troops in France. But the 21 reported pregnancies among the 6000 WAAC
personal in France in 1918 suggest that these rumours were some what exaggerated. Not every job
filled by a woman was a replacement for a man. In 1915 the army blamed its defeat on a lack of
artillery shells. The result of this was a huge increase in the production of shells by private companies.
New jobs were created in these munitions factories, and by the end of the war over 900,000 women
had filled them. However, this was very dangerous work. Explosions could kill and maim the workers.
The chemicals used in the explosives caused workers to vomit and eventually turned their skin yellow,
giving these women the name Cannoves . Nevertheless, Munitions work was very well paid; therefore
many working class women were willing to do this work. When the war ended men came back to
claim their jobs which meant that many women had to give up their jobs. Unfortunately many other
jobs disappeared. There were fewer jobs in domestic service. By 1921 the economic decline meant
that the number of women in work was actually

The Multiculturalism And Education Policy
Multiculturalism and Education Policy
How we educate our students is a contentious topic. Many stakeholders have different ideas about
what will make our schools more successful. Without going into great detail about the past, it is safe to
say the current paradigm is one of standards and assessment. Schools have gone back to basics
reading, math, science, and little else (Newman, 2013). In order to be considered successful, schools
have resorted to teaching to the standardized tests. Effective school advocates believe that the country
should pay less attention to racial issues and student racial composition of schools and instead
concentrate on academic quality only (Newman, 2006). I do not agree. I do not feel that school
success is an all or nothing venture where we have to decide between concentrating only on academic
quality or multicultural issues. Instead, I think that concentrating on multiculturalism issues, such as
racial issues and racial composition of schools, creates a nurturing and supportive environment
thereby improving academic quality. Although education is often promoted as a pathway out of
poverty, American educational disparities are such that the families with the greatest need are often
relegated to the least adequate educational resources (Sue Sue, 2013). 60 years after de jure
segregation was outlawed, schools are almost as segregated as they were before desegregation
(Hannah Jones, 2014). Such segregation is sometimes called

it used for many purposes like image restoration, image blurring and also for image enhancement. The
root cause of blur can be extracted in many applications. Blur can be classified into several main
categories either it could be blur due to motion or blur due image defocus, Primarily our research
focuses on how to restore a motion blur image by using several techniques like edge sharp analysis,
low depth of field image segmentation, lowest directional high frequency energy (for motion blur),
and wavelet based histogram and support vector machine. Then we will conclude our paper by
implementing our mention methods using mat lab that will show the output of our design algorithms

The Comparison Of Eros And Energy By William Blake
Now that the definitions of Eros and Energy have been clarified, its essential to explore the apparent
similarities that both terms hold. Both Eros and Energy associate with this creative energy that exist in
the elaborate confines of our mental facilities and both harbor opposing force that suppresses them to
which Freud and Blake find this suppression of desire to be harmful for the individual. From direct
quotation, it is proven that libido is a manifestation of the power of Eros (Freud 109). As previously
mentioned, libido then is the source of desire that becomes this creative energy though sublimation
and this powers the creative pursuits that develop civilization. This mirror s William Blake s Energy
since both contain a similar source of desire. Blake s view on Energy being a desire comes out when
he describes Energy to be restrained, it by degrees becomes passive, till it is only a shadow of Desire
(Blake 5). From this Blake admits that Energy in a sense a form of desire that every individual has.
Blake doesn t stop at this as he sees the importance of this desire to be executed. This is realized
thought his Proverbs of Hell, where he reveals, Sooner murder an infant in its cradle than nurse
unacted desires (Blake 10). Blake is conveying the significance of acting on desires and this
showcases the extent of his belief. Considering Blake has compared unacted desires to the murder of
an infant. Correlating the value of a life to be less of an

Data Mining Benefits and Drawbacks
Introduction
In a world where computers are becoming as essential to daily life as the cars we drive or the
telephones we use to communicate, it is difficult to find a person who doesn t have some particular use

think about all the kinds of information a person can and does hold on their computer it is staggering. I

they are considered to be not healthy enough. Let s say the person is getting over a drug addiction or
has a history of smoking, the bank just might deny the loan based the on belief that the person will use
the money to either buy drugs or the person will simply die too early to be able to pay off the loan. It
seems far fetched, but is it really?
The Dark Side of Data Mining
The seemingly innocuous practice of data mining has a less reputable and more aggressive side to it.
Some people and companies mine for data by subtly installing applications on users systems to
monitor their activity. These applications are know as spyware and they range from simple pop up
advertisements to viruses which search out, record, and report back vital information such as
passwords, email addresses, and account numbers. Spyware is embedded in many programs without
the knowledge of users. It is used to monitor the activities of computer users and report them to the
spyware publisher. 4 In most cases personal data is collected and distributed for re sale to marketing
enterprises... many of the programs are hidden as downloads on computer games for children. 5

Discrimination against African Americans in The Invisible Man
In the 1950s African Americans were treated unfairly and discriminated against. During the post civil
war time tensions were still high, the discrimination and separation between the blacks and whites was
still prevalent. Discrimination is portrayed through Jim Crow laws, which affected every African
American tremendously, the narrator s experience at the Battle Royal, and the narrator s transition
from the black college to New York and The Brotherhood. In the Invisible Man, Ellison utilizes
characterization to represent the division between whites and blacks in America in the 1950s.

Before the fighting the white women were presented as the forbidden fruit. The Battle Royal incident
showed the white women being paraded before the black boys as something to look at, to admire, and
to desire, but not to touch (Sistrunk Krakue 1). Sistrunk Krakue describes the white women in the
novel as royalty, like prized possessions, as if this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see these
women. These women are presented as dreams because the description includes admiration, desire,
but something they can t actually attain. The white women show division of social classes because
they looked around with their impersonal eyes (Ellison 19). The eyes give away the fact that the
women don t even acknowledge anyone around them, they are just doing what they re order to do by
the wealthy white men. Sistrunk Krakue s idea of dreaminess and royalty of the white women places
them on an entirely different social platform, one that would be an impossible feat for a black boy.
This judgment of the white women further explains the disrespect that blacks receive in society and
how they re judged in most every facet of life.
Within Invisible Man, judgment of races is a commonplace in society, Ellison exemplifies this point
by starting the novel with a presentation of judgment between races. The town s privileged white men
invite the narrator to give his prestigious speech at their

The Death of Emmett Till
There are several views of the murder of Emmett Till regarding the topic of whether or not he received
justice. Emmett Till, a fourteen year old boy, was murdered purely based on racism, because he was
killed for wolf whistling at a white woman in August 1955. He was brutally murdered after being
nearly beaten to death and having his eyes gouged out. When Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam, two people
involved in Till s manslaughter, were placed on trial for his murder, they were pronounced innocent
and did not receive any punishment. After being tortured and savagely killed, no one was held
responsible for Emmett Till s death. Emmett Till did not receive justice after his death.
Emmett Till did not receive justice, because from his death and throughout his trial, everything was
based upon racism. Till s case was examined in court by an all white jury, who had most likely made
up their minds before the trial had even started. According to The death of Emmett Till , On
September 23, the all white jury deliberated for less than an hour before issuing a verdict of not guilty,
... ( Death 2) That is an extremely short time for a jury to deliberate, and it leads to questions of
whether or not the jury truly deliberated, or if it was a cold case of a black boy being punished for
flirting with a white woman. The courthouse in which Emmett Till s murder trial took place was also
segregated, showing that the defendant s guilt of murdering a black person was being deliberated in

  • 2. Ten Easy Steps to a Successful 401 (K) Ten Easy Steps to a Successful 401(k) For the majority of working Americans, the most common vehicle for owning mutual funds is through their employer s retirement plan, but very few people are making the most of this mainstay of retirement planning. Over the holidays, I had occasion to socialize with a group of very bright, successful people who are saving for retirement. We talked of many things, including their investments. And, sad to say, not one of them could coherently explain what he or she was doing, and why. Everybody, it seems, wants a quick, easy answer. And for those who are unwilling to take the trouble to figure out what they should be doing, the easy answers usually come from slick sales pitches and superficial media ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rebalancing is simple. Your personal investment plan should have a target asset allocation in percentages for each asset class or fund. Once a year, apply those percentages to your total balance, then sell the funds with too much in them and use the proceeds to buy more shares of those with too little. Follow this as a mechanical discipline, whether or not you feel like it. Step 7: Know your plan Read your plan literature or find somebody who can explain it to you so you understand. Know the your rights. Know any restrictions on moving money from one asset to another and especially, know everything you can about your investment options. Step 8: Beware of tax traps If you leave your job voluntarily or involuntarily, you are entitled to cash in your 401(k) assets and take the money with you. This is a poor idea. You give up your hard earned savings and the money they can make for you. Worse, you ll have to pay taxes on whatever you take out, plus a possible early withdrawal penalty. If you leave your job and want to transfer your 401(k) assets into a Rollover IRA, make sure the money never touches your hands. Have it transferred directly from one custodian to another. That way your savings will keep their tax deferred status and you won t take the risk of facing an unexpected and unintended tax bill. • 3. Revolutionary War Without The Pamphlet Common Sense By... The freedom of press sounds like one of the things we shouldn t be focused on, especially with everything else that is going on in our world. Why exactly is this an important freedom? I have always found it to be a little bit strange that we are protecting the right to say hateful things about people you barely know. It doesn t sound like it should be as important as things like torture or murder. Sometimes words can hurt, but they can also be used to do great things. Think about all of the influential books, newspapers, and websites that have helped to change the world for the better. Our country would have never won the Revolutionary War without the pamphlet Common Sense, by Thomas Paine. He used his knowledge of the country s issues with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. PC Vs Mac Essay When purchasing a personal computer, buyers used to grapple with the decision: a Macintosh from Apple Computer or a Microsoft based PC? Microsoft effectively won that operating system debate years ago and claims more than 90% of the PC operating system market. But in the push to legally sell digital music, Apple and Microsoft, and their incompatible file formats, are at it again. Consumers are in the position of having to choose as hardware makers line up behind either Microsoft or Apple s software format. Hewlett Packard s recent surprise decision to snub longtime PC partner Microsoft and offer Apple music software on its PCs shows how unpredictable this battle may be. Microsoft lost the first round of the digital music war, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... H P will sell Apple s iPod under its own name and use Apple s iTunes music software on PCs beginning this summer. In announcing the alliance, H P CEO Carly Fiorina said it had been working on developing its own portable music player, but concluded that Apple s iPod . . . and iTunes . . . were the best. Despite the hoopla for the H P/Apple deal, Microsoft says its momentum hasn t slowed. You ll continue to see more (music) stores coming out in Windows Media, says Dave Fester, general manager of Microsoft s Windows Media division. Just Monday, Coca Cola in Europe opened a new Windows Media based online store. Others are in the works, including Microsoft s own. The battle takes shape Last year, Microsoft signed up company after company (including Wal Mart, Musicmatch and Best Buy) to sell digital music in the Windows Media format. It clearly had the companies on its side even while Apple was winning the heart of consumers. Apple effectively kick started the legitimate digital music business last April with the introduction of the iTunes Music Store. Originally just for Mac users, Apple opened it to Windows users in October. Apple now claims sales of 30 million songs and a 70% market share. Apple s iTunes success was helped by the smash success of the iPod. Some 735,000 were sold in the last quarter alone, and 2 million to date. Microsoft says there are 4 million portable devices that can play Windows Media including units from Dell, Creative

  • 6. Race And The Space Race I created this piece to further elaborate on the book s main premise of the lack of support for our space program in our current age. Before I touch on that we have to touch on our origins. We as a race have lived as pioneers exploring the earth and colonizing any new place we could find. It all started in the fertile crest in the middle east. They ventured forth and spread across the earth. Then came the period of stagnation where no exploration was happening and the space race started. We went back to our roots as pioneers exploring beyond the bounds of our small blue planet. America as a whole was the economic powerhouse of the age and the space race caused our education standards to be raised as a whole leading to a greater nation. However, ... • 8. Terrorism Is Terrorism In this modern era, being exposed to many sources of news media, we find out how terrorism is growing and devastating many parts of the world. Thinking of terrorism, people tend to see images of intensive war, mass killing, ISIS or 9/11 attack. But what is really terrorism? And how does it happen? Terrorism is defined as the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, as a mean to create terror or fear, in the pursuit of political, religious, or ideological aims. This definition fits the images we see on the news, or in other words, images that are readily available in our mind, bombings, fire, terror, enduring people, and aggressive terrorist. As availability heuristic is not always accurate, this general definition also does not tell us the whole picture of the reality and how terrorism arises. We usually err to think that terrorists are born evil and destructive, so it is their internal disposition that rules the actions. For that reason, we underestimate the influence of the situation (religious conflict, for example). The fundamental attribution error first explains why and how we misunderstand terrorism. Most problems of terrorism can be interpreted using social psychology to reveal how people and individuals interact, relate, and impact each other. It is shocking to realize how similar terroristic issues are to ordinary thoughts of everyday life, with the only difference that it is taken to the extreme. The in group bias explains why ... • 9. Athenian Citizenship Essay Athenian Citizenship: Aristotle s Exclusions In Aristotle s interpretation of citizenship, it is clear that citizenship is a fluid title, applied to an exclusive group of men only after meeting certain qualifications, and revocable upon meeting certain others. While Aristotle is unable to answer clearly who should properly be called a citizen and what a citizen really is (p.85), he dedicates several chapters to explicating who is not a citizen in an attempt to determine who is. Though Aristotle cannot come up with a composite definition of a citizen that applies to all citizens, he provides reasons for the exclusion of several groups of Athenian inhabitants for citizenship based on a variety of arbitrary factors designed to keep ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though the numbers used here are an over simplified breakdown of the population, when slaves, foreigners, the elderly and artisans are taken into account as well, it is clear to see that citizens are a minority in Athens, tasked with representing and legislating for the population as a whole. In Aristotle s view, arbitrary factors like common residence and the ability to use the law for the purposes of suing and being sued are not adequate to warrant citizenship. Ancestry and lineage are insufficient alone to grant citizenship. The logic behind this is that foreigners and slaves are entitled to residence utilization of certain portions of the law, but these rights are granted by a treaty, not because they have earned an equal place in Athenian society as rightful citizens (III.1, p.85). While these residents are afforded the protections of the laws, they are not allowed the opportunity to participate in the legislation process to determine said laws. Though the opportunity for political participation is not afforded to them, the inability to participate in the administration of justice and holding office is still held against them as a condition of non citizenship. • 10. French Horn Evaluation Late Bloomer A good word to describe the first sound that came out of my French horn could be called a screech. When I first looked at the instrument I originally thought the bell faced upward in the air. You would never believe that only two years later I was able to sight read pieces of music and preform them in a matter of an hour during a workshop at Disney world. The quick improvement that I made in my music ability showed my natural tenacity and persistence. Growing up I was always around musicians, and music interested me, but I was always steered towards more academics. I finally got into music in High School. It made me rather nervous because here I was sitting in a room with people who basically played instruments and sung within the womb, and I was unable to even read music. So at first I asked my friends who were all music aficionados. Every second thing that came out of my mouth was a question about music. What was tone? How do I play a scale? What is moderato? And how on earth was I going to catch up to these kids? So especially in band I took control and I took my French horn home every weekend and practiced for hours, determined to meet my high standards. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Individuals who are undergoing investigation for suspected breast disease can be referred for breast care services with symptoms or are recalled from the breast screening programme. The National Health Service Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP) was introduced in 1988 which was due to the proposition of the Forrest Report that had been published two years prior (1986). This essay will attempt to discuss the theoretical principals of population screening as well as the importance of diagnostic breast care services, with the influence of a multi disciplinary team. Theoretical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The age range 50 69 is where mortality rate reduction was seen at its greatest. The main evidence used in favour for breast screening and Forrest report came from the studies and randomised control trials conducted in Sweden. On the contrary Gotsche Olsen (2000) disputed the findings of the Swedish randomised trials, claiming screening for breast cancer is unjustifiable, as there is inconsistency within the randomisation of the trial, as two of these trials found no effect of screening on mortality. A meta analysis was conducted by Gotsche Olsen on the Swedish Trials results. This meta analysis found that for every 1000 women screened biennially throughout 12 years one breast cancer death is avoided, whereas the total number of deaths is increased by six . Other studies that were conducted in New York, Canada and Edinburgh had also been criticised on the methods of randomisation and validity. The Forrest report stated that there must be a clinical examiner, radiologist and a pathologist within a multidisciplinary team to ensure that there is expert knowledge available in each health profession. Breast Services should all have breast surgeons, nurses, radiographers, pathologists, radiologists, oncologists, breast care services manager and clerical staff, this is what is recommended by the NICE 2002 for the successful running of the unit. • 12. Lotus Bassinet Research Paper Lotus Bassinet Review If you have been searching the web for baby products that you can fall in love with, chances are good you have seen the Lotus Travel Crib and other products. The reason for this is simple. Lotus designs items that make it easy to travel with a little one. It does not matter whether you are traveling to Grandma s house or across the country to stay in a motel on vacation. Unsure if you should consider it? Check out our Lotus Bassinet review to find out more about this extremely versatile brand of bassinets, play yards, and travel cribs. The Difference Between Lotus and Other Cribs/Bassinets/Playards Most bassinets are too bulky to be easy to carry along on adventures outside of the home. Most of them do not fold up or fit inside of a storage container the way that the Lotus does. Travel cribs are still rather large cribs that are difficult to carry if you must travel via a plane. Playards are the same way. Many of them are playpens that are designed in a way that allows them to fold up flat, but not fold up small. Lotus products fold up small. They are designed for traveling, but they are comfortable enough to allow you to use them without worry when at home. The Guava family Lotus crib folds up small enough to be carried in a large shoebox if you are going to choose the bassinet style crib. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Human Response On An Ignition Hole For The Vehicle Essay The focus of this paper is to highlight the human response in relation to an action, in this case turning the key in an ignition, once it has been inserted into the correct ignition hole for the vehicle. The aim is to identify the brain response with the haptic perceptions and to a lesser extent the visual perceptions that are involved when completing the instruction set. Before I begin to explain how we complete this instruction I would like to explain some functions of our brain and how it relates to completing this task. Before anything can begin the process to turn the key in the ignition must begin with the decision to complete the task. The area responsible is called the prefrontal cortex (PFC) which is the cerebral cortex located in the frontal lobe. Although this area is implicated in planning complex cognitive behaviour, personality expression, decision making and moderating social behaviour (Yang, 2009) we are primarily interested in its effect on decision making in relation to our instruction set chosen. This region of the brain is considered to be responsible for alignment of thoughts and actions in accordance with internal goals, in this case getting the key to the ignition and turning the key the appropriate amount to complete the action of turning on the vehicle. Another area of the brain responsible for assisting in the completion of our task is the premotor cortex also lying in the frontal lobe just anterior to the primary motor cortex. Although this area ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Critique Of The Cadian Ball During the late 1800s, many new ideas came with the industrial revolution. With these ideas came thoughts on how to change the way our sociality was working. Writers especially brought out the opinions of they these radical ideas, by writing and spreading these ideas. At the Cadian Ball fails to advocate a change in the social system, by mixing races and classes, but at the same time, and supports the norm of marring someone of your own class, by have all four of the main characters marry into the same class. Within the story all the characters speak the same language, giving everyone an equal ground, showing that everyone has something in common. During the story the narrator tells us, They belonged to the younger generation, so preferred to speak English. (Chopin 6). This tells us that they all speak the same language, with shows that they are all similar, but we can also infer that because they state that they do this because they are younger, that the older generations, did not do this and strengthened the divide between classes by speaking different languages. The Cadian Ball advocates a change in the social class by featuring multi class and race couples, but does not fully support the statement by having the characters marry others of their class. They talked low, and laughed softly, as lovers do. (6) Alcee and Calixta are stated as lovers, even though this is the 1800s, there is a mixed race couple, but the story doesn t portray this negative. They also show ... • 15. Stereotypes In Ernest J. Gaines A Lesson Before Dying Brandon Berchuck Mrs. Weishaar Honors English IV 16 December 2015 Setting a novel in the south during the 1940s bring upon certain racial stereotypes that are deeply rooted in the mainstream culture. While these stereotypes may not always be true, they are extremely difficult to ignore and escape from. In Ernest J. Gaines s novel A Lesson Before Dying, Grant Wiggins struggles to break away from the social norms of Bayonne Louisiana, and finds it challenging to convince others of his own worth. Although Grant has led a successful life, and has a respectable career, his white counterparts still treat him as a second class citizen. Jefferson is another product of the system, who is also unable to elude the oppressive justice system of the time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While Jefferson had a trial with a jury of his peers, the general consensus of Bayonne is that Young Black men had a predisposition for violent crimes. During his supposedly fair trial, Jefferson is treated as less of a human. The prosecution states, Gentlemen of the jury, look at him look at him look at this. Do you see a man sitting here? Do you see a man sitting here?...Do you see a modicum of intelligence (Gaines 7). The prosecution goes on to call Jefferson a hog , and Jefferson takes this to heart. These men saying these terrible things about Jefferson are in positions of high power, and it s only natural to believe what these powerful men are saying. Jefferson later refuses food, complaining that, I m a old hog...just a old hog they fattening up to kill for Christmas (Gaines 83). Auger s A Lesson about Manhood: Appropriating the Word in Ernest Gaines s A Lesson Before Dying is a great analysis of how power is derived in the novel, and why the society in Bayonne is arranged the way it is. Auger suggests that Gaines tries to show that there are social institutions such as education, religion, and law that are overdue for a change. After watching Iron Jawed Angels, I realized how much I have taken for granted in my life and how incredibly grateful I am for all of the women that have fought for women equality including; Alice Paul and Lucy Burns. There are still on going debates in todays society about gender equality, but it s crazy to see how 100 plus years ago some of the rights women have now, going to school and voting, didn t exist. In 1912, Alice Paul and Lucy Burns fought together among other women for the right to vote. They fought for not only white women, but women of all races. Throughout Iron Jawed Angels the women fought hard, even during the time of war and while they were in jail, for their rights and equality. It wasn t until August 26, 1920 that women could vote. Before that women could not attend college or pursue training for most professions (Woods, 57). During the movie, Alice Paul was creating a friendship with a male who taught her how to drive which is interesting because in todays society almost every women knows how to drive or has the privilege to drive but back then only men drove or could even afford a car because they had the right to work. The Palette is a double sided two dimensional raised relief with multiple registers on each side. It is a statement of the political authority in early Egypt and uses depictions of the king, those subservient to the king, and the king s ability to cause change to demonstrate political authority. For example, on both the recto and the verso the king is depicted as the largest figure, this use of size places the figure into a social perspective, revealing its importance and providing enough information to infer the figures social status as a ruler. Additionally, the recto and the verso of the Palette show the king as being the only figure wearing a large headdress and wielding a scepter; both of which can be seen as symbols of power that further implicate the importance of the king. Subsequently, the king s location at the top of the social hierarchy would enable him to have control over other people. Eskandari Political Science 101 SBCC April 19, 2015 T/R 11:10 Laws vs. The Right to Life The debate over abortion has divided Americans into polarized sides since the Supreme Court s 7 2 decision in Roe v. Wade on January 22, 1973, where the Court deemed abortion a fundamental right under the United States Constitution. The lawsuit began when Norma McCorvey became pregnant with her third child in 1969 and could not get a legal abortion in Texas. With her attorneys, they filed a lawsuit. Roe v. Wade reached Supreme Court appeal in 1970 (Rovner). At this time, there were a few related court cases whose decisions directly affected McCorvey s case. Griswold v. Connecticut decided that there is a right to privacy in the Constitution. Younger v. Harris decided that federal courts could not hear civil right cases by a person currently being prosecuted for a matter arising from that claim. In U.S. v. Vuitch, the court ruled to criminalize abortion with the exception if the mother s life was endangered and it also labeled abortion as an emergency medical procedure (Masci). These cases laid out a foundation for McCorvey s attorneys as the rulings were then applied to her case, benefitting their arguments tremendously. This official governmental interference allowed for federal action and resulted in legalized abortion nationwide under the three tiered system regarding the three trimesters in a pregnancy.. Many stakeholders have different ideas about what will make our schools more successful. Without going into great detail about the past, it is safe to say the current paradigm is one of standards and assessment. Schools have gone back to basics reading, math, science, and little else (Newman, 2013). In order to be considered successful, schools have resorted to teaching to the standardized tests. Effective school advocates believe that the country should pay less attention to racial issues and student racial composition of schools and instead concentrate on academic quality only (Newman, 2006). I do not agree. I do not feel that school success is an all or nothing venture where we have to decide between concentrating only on academic quality or multicultural issues. Instead, I think that concentrating on multiculturalism issues, such as racial issues and racial composition of schools, creates a nurturing and supportive environment thereby improving academic quality. Although education is often promoted as a pathway out of poverty, American educational disparities are such that the families with the greatest need are often relegated to the least adequate educational resources (Sue Sue, 2013). 60 years after de jure segregation was outlawed, schools are almost as segregated as they were before desegregation (Hannah Jones, 2014). Both Eros and Energy associate with this creative energy that exist in the elaborate confines of our mental facilities and both harbor opposing force that suppresses them to which Freud and Blake find this suppression of desire to be harmful for the individual. From direct quotation, it is proven that libido is a manifestation of the power of Eros (Freud 109). As previously mentioned, libido then is the source of desire that becomes this creative energy though sublimation and this powers the creative pursuits that develop civilization. This mirror s William Blake s Energy since both contain a similar source of desire. Blake s view on Energy being a desire comes out when he describes Energy to be restrained, it by degrees becomes passive, till it is only a shadow of Desire (Blake 5). From this Blake admits that Energy in a sense a form of desire that every individual has. Blake doesn t stop at this as he sees the importance of this desire to be executed. This is realized thought his Proverbs of Hell, where he reveals, Sooner murder an infant in its cradle than nurse unacted desires (Blake 10). I myself have all the passwords to my email and bank accounts, the history of every web page I ve visited in the last 3 weeks, my credit card numbers, the complete history of all my banking transactions for the last three years stored on my computer. Additionally, think about all the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Let s say the person is getting over a drug addiction or has a history of smoking, the bank just might deny the loan based the on belief that the person will use the money to either buy drugs or the person will simply die too early to be able to pay off the loan. The Battle Royal incident showed the white women being paraded before the black boys as something to look at, to admire, and to desire, but not to touch (Sistrunk Krakue 1). Sistrunk Krakue describes the white women in the novel as royalty, like prized possessions, as if this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see these women. These women are presented as dreams because the description includes admiration, desire, but something they can t actually attain. The white women show division of social classes because they looked around with their impersonal eyes (Ellison 19). The eyes give away the fact that the women don t even acknowledge anyone around them, they are just doing what they re order to do by the wealthy white men. Sistrunk Krakue s idea of dreaminess and royalty of the white women places them on an entirely different social platform, one that would be an impossible feat for a black boy. This judgment of the white women further explains the disrespect that blacks receive in society and how they re judged in most every facet of life. Within Invisible Man, judgment of races is a commonplace in society, Ellison exemplifies this point by starting the novel with a presentation of judgment between races. The town s privileged white men invite the narrator to give his prestigious speech at their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After being tortured and savagely killed, no one was held responsible for Emmett Till s death. Emmett Till did not receive justice after his death. Emmett Till did not receive justice, because from his death and throughout his trial, everything was based upon racism. Till s case was examined in court by an all white jury, who had most likely made up their minds before the trial had even started. According to The death of Emmett Till , On September 23, the all white jury deliberated for less than an hour before issuing a verdict of not guilty, ... ( Death 2) That is an extremely short time for a jury to deliberate, and it leads to questions of whether or not the jury truly deliberated, or if it was a cold case of a black boy being punished for flirting with a white woman.
