block, Da Mayor and Mother Sister and to make conflict more apparent.

between Sal and Raheem. The camera jumps back and forth between low angle close up shots of
Raheem to the reverse high angle close ups of Sal as the two yell at each other. This confrontation
ends with Radio Raheem finally turning off the music and peace is restored. The second instance
occurs just before and serves as the catalyst for the violent climax.

How exciting would it be to travel back in time and live with the dinosaurs? That is exactly the
setting Steven Spielberg wanted to create in the movie version of the Michael Crichton novel,
Jurassic Park. Science fiction adventure films, such as Jurassic Park, are exciting for all age
groups. The audience is in awe of the characters, in this case realistic looking and acting
dinosaurs. After a shocking death takes place due to an animal attack in Isla Nublar, an island 120

The country of Costa Rica is a perfect setting with all of the diversity of species and seclusion
from other parts of the world to do experimental research with dinosaurs in secret. Isla Nublar,
the specific location leased by Hammond as a biological preserve to do research, adds to the
seclusion, as it is difficult to get to the island one hundred miles off the coast of Costa Rica and
difficult to leave. Ian Malcolm, the mathematician invited to visit the park to access risk, takes
one look around the island and says the problem with Isla Nublar is that it is an accident waiting
to happen, effectively foreshadowing the events to occur shortly after the group s arrival on the
island. Once the group drives the safari jeeps Hammond has provided through the gates of the
theme park, it is as if they are in another world. The gates are described as enormous, primitive
gates, torches blazing on either side. Again Malcolm foreshadows future events by looking up at
the immense gates and asking if King Kong is inside. The seclusion of the island and
confinement of the park builds the anticipation that an accident is imminent. This suspense is
important because when the dinosaurs run free, the experts and the children feel cut off from
the outside world and must find ways to save themselves. The time at which the park was built,
the 1990s, was not long after supercomputers became prevalent. The climate on the island also
added to the mysterious, clandestine atmosphere. For example, every time a tyrannosaurus rex
came to attack the group, it was raining. When the t Rex flipped the jeep over, it was so foggy it
was difficult to see. Appropriately, the secluded location of the theme park, Isla Nublar, means

Analysis Of The Movie The Rain Offers
Released in 2010 to critical acclaim, Even the Rain offers insight into the events occurring
before and during the Cochabamba Water War from the perspective of an outsider. Having
chosen to film in Bolivia due to the high availability of cheap labor, Costa and Sebastian are not
above the exploitation of natives. Especially early on, Costa represents the archetypical western
businessman, an individual consumed by profits and the bottom line. In contrast, early in the
film Sebastian represents the opposite, he is concerned for the people and he believes that the
films message might speak to those oppressing them. This is highlighted by Sebastian s casting
of the native Bolivian Daniel as the Hatuey and offering him a relatively decent wage, as
Sebastian believes he is perfect for the role. Throughout the film, there are inklings of unrest
within the area they are filming in, such as the Bolivians driving away utilities workers. The
unrest comes to the foreground when open protesting begins and Daniel becomes one of the
leaders of the protests. These protests result in an important conversation between the mayor of
Cochabamba and the film crew, in which the mayor questions whether the film crew are
hypocrites and oppressors of the native Bolivians. Despite his crass language, the mayor does
indeed have some valid points; members of the film crew often act as neo colonialist oppressors,
Boliviadid need foreign investment, and the result of the protests was not achieved.

Brahms song cycle Romanzen aus L. Tieck s Magelone, Op. 33 No. 3. As text for his song cycle,
Brahms chose excerpts from the novel Die schГ¶ne Magelone by Ludwig Tieck (1773 1853). The
novel tells a love story between Peter von Provence and Magelone, the king s daughter. In this
particular song, Peter and Magelone falls in love with each other. Though Brahms is most widely
known as an instrumental composer, more than half of his opus numbers are devoted to vocal
works. In Brahms song cycles, he avoided the traditional strophic forms. Instead, he chooses
dramatic shifts in music material, unpredictable harmonies, and sudden changes in tempoand
rhythm.
The song starts with an unusually long piano introduction that lasted 8 measures, gives an idea of

where we see an overlap is at 31:57, the party scene. In this scene the jazz music playing has the

overlap which shows that Mancini has a common stylistic trait and that is during the scene at

instruments. As a result, these few scenes show that Mancini has a specific style of music that he
uses, so much so that some of the same sounds in Touch of Evil are prevalent in this film. Mancini
shows his authorship and impacts the film with these choices because like in Touch of Evil they
tell the viewers how to feel. Whether it s to feel happy like the upbeat jazz when Paul and Holly
are going to Tiffany s or to feel anxious when Paul is being followed by Doc. Without these pieces
