Decriptive Essay
Crafting a descriptive essay about oneself can be a challenging endeavor, as it requires a delicate
balance between self-expression and objectivity. The task involves capturing one's essence,
experiences, and personality in a way that resonates with the reader, while avoiding the pitfalls
of self-indulgence or excessive modesty. Striking this balance demands introspection, self-
awareness, and the ability to articulate personal details with clarity and purpose.
The difficulty lies in avoiding clichГ©s and creating a unique portrayal that goes beyond a mere
list of accomplishments or attributes. Describing oneself requires a nuanced approach, where the
writer must navigate the fine line between self-promotion and genuine reflection. It involves
delving into personal memories, emotions, and perspectives, which can be a daunting task as it
involves exposing vulnerabilities and revealing one's inner thoughts.
Additionally, maintaining the reader's interest throughout the essay is a formidable challenge.
Without a compelling narrative or a distinctive voice, the essay may risk becoming monotonous
or predictable. Striving for authenticity while ensuring the content remains engaging requires
careful consideration of language, tone, and pacing.
Moreover, the self-awareness needed for such an essay can be uncomfortable. It necessitates
confronting both strengths and weaknesses, and the writer must be willing to acknowledge
imperfections without undermining their overall message. This level of introspection demands
time and effort, making the process of crafting a compelling descriptive essay about oneself a
labor-intensive task.
In conclusion, writing a descriptive essay about oneself is a challenging undertaking that requires
a delicate balance between self-reflection and engaging storytelling. It involves navigating the
complexities of self-awareness and authenticity while maintaining the reader's interest. Crafting
such an essay demands time, effort, and a nuanced understanding of the art of self-expression.

Grapevine Communication
GRAPEVINE AND ITS MANAGEMENT
INTRODUCTION
Grapevine is an informal channel of business communication. It is called so because
it stretches throughout the organization in all directions irrespective of the authority
levels. Man as we know is a social animal. Despite existence of formal channels in an
organization, the informal channels tend to develop when he interacts with other
people in organization. It exists more at lower levels of organization.
The dictionary gives us a definition for the grapevine which says it is the informal
transmission of information, gossip or rumour from person to person .The grapevine
is the informal and unsanctioned information network within every organization .The

PROS AND CONS OF GRAPEVINE COMMUNICATION
Advantages:
Grapevine channels carry information rapidly. As soon as an employee gets to know
some confidential information, he becomes inquisitive and passes the details then to
his closest friend who in turn passes it to other. Thus, it spreads hastily.
The managers get to know the reactions of their subordinates on their policies. Thus,
the feedback obtained is quick compared to formal channel of communication.
The grapevine creates a sense of unity among the employees who share and discuss
their views with each other. Thus, grapevine helps in developing group cohesiveness.
The grapevine serves as an emotional supportive value.
The grapevine is a supplement in those cases where formal communication does not
work.
Disadvantages:
The grapevine carries partial information at times as it is more based on rumours.
Thus, it does not clearly depicts the complete state of affairs.
The grapevine is not trustworthy always as it does not follows official path of
communication and is spread more by gossips and unconfirmed report.
The productivity of employees may be hampered as they spend more time talking
rather than working.
The grapevine leads to making hostility against the executives.
The grapevine may hamper the goodwill of the organization as it may carry false

Essay about Josephine Baker
Josephine Baker
While Jim Crow laws were reeking havoc on the lives of African Americans in the
South, a massed exodus of Southern musicians, particularly from New Orleans,
spread the seeds of Jazz as far north as New York City. A new genre of music
produced fissures in the walls of racial discrimination thought to be impenetrable.
Musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, King Oliver and Fletcher
Henderson performed to the first desegregated audiences. Duke Ellington starred in
the first primetime radio program to feature an African American artist. And a quirky
little girl from Missouri conquered an entire country enthralled by her dark skin,
curvaceous body and dynamic personality. Josephine Baker was more than ... Show

While still in elementary school, she began dancing part time in a local chorus line.
She left home at the age of 13; waiting tables most of the time and working on stage
whenever possible. She joined a group of street musicians who called themselves
the Jones Family Band. The work with the Band paid off when Baker acquired her
first stage appearance at the Booker T. Washington Theater, St. Louis s black
vaudeville house. Also appearing was the all black dance troupe, the Dixie
Steppers. The manager of the Dixie Steppers took a liking to Baker and decided to
make her part of the group. Since he couldn t find anything for her to do onstage,
she became a dresser, principally for the troupe s star, Clara Baker. # By 1920, she
was married, divorced and married again the second time to Willie Baker, a
Pullman porter, from whom Baker took the name she used on stage. In April 1921,
while the Dixie Steppers were touring in Philadelphia, one of the chorus girls hurt
herself. For nearly a year, Ms. Baker had been studying the choreography of the
show and practicing the steps behind the scenes. Another dancer was aware of
Baker s abilities and suggested she fill in for the injured chorus girl. Ms. Baker took
her place in the chorus line. Because she was much more lively and animated, she
stood out from the rest of the ladies, which, obviously, is not the point of a chorus
line. When the lyricist/composer team of Nobel Sissle
Zhou Dynasty Dbq
During the fall of the Zhou Dynasty, violence and chaos were soaring in China. In an
attempt to achieve justice, various philosophers offered solutions in order to restore
social and political order. From these efforts, three significant ethical systems were
founded. These three major schools of philosophy, Legalism, Confucianism, and
Daoism, are creations of unique views that portray their ideas of adequate societies
as well as their perspectives on how one should govern.
Founded by Confucius, Confucianism followers highly valued education as well as
respect for ancestors. According to Document 1, disorder will not be created if
followers remain respectful to their superiors, for filial piety is one aspect that is the
root of humanity. Filial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author of Document 7 encourages living a life of simplicity an being humble.
Those two aspects follow the strong belief in this ethical system of finding the
Dao, or the way, that represents a balance in life as brought up in Documents 6 and
7. In Document 6, there is a symbol that represents the balance between two forces,
yin and yang. Yin represents females and the evil in the world, while yang
represents all that is good and males. There is a circle in both yin and yang to
represent the balance. Secondly, unlike Legalism and Confucianism, there is a strong
belief in Daoism in not taking part in the government. In Document 8, the point of
view is not interfering with the people in order to have success in taking over the
empire. They believe that people will do better on their own without the government
controlling them according to Document 8. Their beliefs against governing can be
noticed in the Yellow Turban Rebellion against the government that lead to the end of
the Han Dynasty. Also, because their beliefs have lasted to future time periods,
Daoism was banned in China in 1949 under communism. In the Daoism perspective,
there is a very different approach to government and society when compared to the

Aladdin The Musical Reflection
The theater was largely attended by children and toddlers. To my surprise, I noticed
that there were a decent number of adults attending the show too. I was not sure if
they were dragged into the show by their own children or that they came to watch the
performance willingly. Unfortunately, I was dragged into the theater to watch Aladdin
the Musical with my younger siblings during a family outing in Disneyland. I tried
my best to spot other adolescents in the theater. However, it felt like I was the only
one. Embarrassed, I sat in deeper into my seat, hoping that no adults could find and
criticize me. Aladdin the Musical uses the same plot from the movie, Aladdin as a
foundation for their own plot. The plot is about how a thief was destined to be the
prince of Agrabah with the help of a powerful genie and how an evil vizier named
Jafar desired to take over the kingdom of Agrabah by abusing the genie s powers. As
the emcee made his announcements, I assumed that I would fall asleep on the
cushioned seat from all the boredom I would experience from a children s fairytale.
Surprisingly, I was wide awake throughout the entire show. In fact, I enjoyed the
performance very much.

The flow of the scenes made the story understandable. However, the performance
did not exactly follow the same storyline as the movie. For example, Aladdin was
actually sent to prison by Jafar and he escaped it by using one of the genie s three
wishes but the performance altered their story so they need not to reenact that scene.
I also believed that the performance could have had more backstory. For example, the
performance did not inform the audience that Princess Jasmine was fussy about
choosing her suitors and that Jafar was trying to court her so that he can take over
the kingdom of

The main stakeholder for Nike is the general public as they purchase the goods
Nike produce and the public is the main source of revenue for that organization, the

is a need to get product. Another stakeholder for the organization are companies
such as sports direct, as they purchase Nikes goods as they re competitors to other
companies such as JD. Nike sells it s good internationally which means different
countries will purchase their goods. Sport teams are also influenced in Nike as
they sponsors Nikes brand, as Nike pay them to advertise their logo in varies ways.
The local community would also be seen as a stakeholder depending on the

A Homemade Education By Malcom X
The Drive Successful people become motivated by something, that keeps them going
when things get tough. Malcom X wanted to improve his writing, Lupe Quintanilla
wanted to learn English, and I am motivated to receive a higher education. Drive, that
is what all of these individuals have in common. Something in our lives lead us down
the path to better our educationit was a tough road but being motivated kept us
going. In Malcom X s short story, A Homemade Education, it talks about how
Malcom was in prison and how he wanted to better his vocabulary and writing so he
could effectively write letters to people. One of the quotes he writes about his
frustration trying to explain what he means in his writings. I became increasingly
frustrated at not being able to express what I wanted to convey in letters that I wrote,
especially those to Mr. Elijah Muhammad. In the street, I had been the most articulate
hustler out there I had commanded attention when I said something. But now, trying
to write simple English, I not only wasn t articulate, I wasn t even functional

Algebra and I felt like I wasn t even functional. Much like Malcom, I began trying to
understand Algebra by thinking about what the problems were and trying to work
through the problems. He explained how he practiced writing repetitively from the
dictionary to learn and how he would wake up and would think about what he had

Franciscans Vs Jesuits
Christianity is widely known as being one of the largest and fastest spreading
religions in the world. A unique aspect of Christianity is its ability to accommodate
many different ways of thinking and living. In just Catholicism alone, there are
multiple different religious institutes, orders, and congregations, one of which being
the Society of Jesus, or the Jesuits. In the 16th century, evangelization the spreading
of the word of Jesus along with the expansion of Europe to Africa, Asia, and the
Americas, are reason for the vast amount of missionaries and practicing Christians

The many aspects of the outside of this church alone reveal that it is a Jesuit
Church. The use of baroque architecture is a major factor in distinguishing
buildings of this time from one another. The Gesu is the first major building
featuring Baroque, which is significant to the Counter Reformation, and it is also
the template for Jesuit churches around the world. Baroque architecture followed
renaissance art from the Middle Ages. The many aspects of this style make it feel
as if it is going against the norm. Architects aspire to make baroque buildings look
as if they are sculpted and contoured, rather than mathematically planned. Using
techniques to make walls look curved together as one single entity is a way
baroque artists integrated movement into architecture. Unique ground plans of
oval or ellipse shape are a distinguished aspect of baroque, in contrast to the circles,
squares, and Greek crosses used in the renaissance. Architecturally, the Gesu is a
marvel. It is the second largest in size, following St. Peters Basilica, and also has
one of the largest domes in Rome. The baroque aspect of the dome is its inability to
be seen from the front of the church, it is only viewable from the sides. In addition,
the pillars on the exterior are in even pairs of two lining the front wall, however they
are carved out of the stone, not standing independently. Despite this, the pillars still
Writing, Writing And Writing
Writing In biology has taught me a lot about scientific writing and just writing in
general. From this class I feel as if my writing skills have drastically improved over
the semester, making me a more proficient writer. I used to consider the task of
writing appalling and demanding as it would take me hours to complete, but now at
the conclusion of the semester that is not the case. Each project give me a new set
of valuable skills that I will be able to use far into my future career, helping me along
the way.
Journals Writings and Perfect Paragraphs
At the start of the semester I perceived of the task of writing three hours worth of
journals a week rather demanding and as if no benefit could come from such a task.
Despite this initial feeling however, I found just the contrary now that the semester
comes to an end. The journal writings forced me to revamp my overall writing style,
teaching me how to just write what comes to mind, making the process more
fluent and efficient. Prior to this change I would spend a vast amount of time
writing each sentence as I would critique and edit as I wrote. Not only do I find my
newly discovered method of writing to be more efficient but also it leads to a more
natural flow and feel in my writing. The journal writings were in my opinion very
important to my advancement to become a better writer.
Perfect paragraphs taught me a vast amount as well, as I was now forced to take
some of my roughest writing, and make it as perfect as I can

Details from this novel by Kate Chopin demonstrate how this quote aptly captures
the theme and spirit of The Awakening, as well as the situation of women in the
nineteenth century and even today. First, one most look to the white beach, Edna
has trod on her entire life. This beach is the safe and sturdy ground that Adele
Ratignolle thrives upon. Attired all in white, Madame Ratignolle embodies the
very spirit of the mother woman. They were women who idolized their children,
worshiped their husbands, and esteemed it a holy privilege to efface themselves as
individuals and grow wings as ministering angels. Ch. IV, pg 385. However, on this
white beach, where women in white brood over all, . . .Edna was not a mother
woman. Ch. IV, pg 385. Rather than dig her toes into the colorless sands, Edna
prefers meandering walks, perhaps on the shoreline itself. The imagery of Edna
walking along as the waters lap at her feet is profound.
Edna is thus far trapped on the ground, not yet knowing how to swim, but wanting
desperately to swim into the boundless water. Therefore, she must be content with
life on land, experiencing only a portion of the fluid as it swirls around her ankles.
So Edna marries a man her father approves of, has children her husband approves
of, and mimes a life society approves of. Here and there, the water of living laps at
Edna s feet tempting her to jump in.
The Power Of Love In Sappho
Other authors after Homer also use reverence for a god s domain as a tool to gain
attention from the gods. In the Fragments, the author, Sappho, uses this tool to
gain attention from the gods for herself. Sappho is a lover of love and her work
shows her obsession with love as most of her partially retained and transcribed
lyrics focus on love and its different forms. In supplication to the goddess Aphrodite,
Sappho writes, Deathless Aphrodite of the spangled mind... I beg you do not break
with hard pains, O lady, my heart (The Fragments, pg.3). Due to the fact that love is
Aphrodite s domain, Aphrodite pays attention to Sappho someone who personifies
and respects the power of love. Subsequently, after Sappho s supplication, Aphrodite
asks, Whom should I persuade (now again) to lead you back into her love? Who, O
Sappho, is wronging you? (The fragments, pg.3). The use of the phrase now again
indicates that Aphrodite not only pays attention to Sappho, but that Aphrodite helps
Sappho in issues of love repeatedly. Out of context, the phrase now again also denotes
and exasperated tone, however, the preceding context states that Aphrodite greeted
Sappho smiling a symbol of pleasure with another. Additionally, Sappho gains the
attention of Herabecause of her mention and praise of marriage in lyric 44,
motherly love in lyric 132 and the praise of women throughout all powers that lie
under Hera s domain. Recently in a newly discovered and transcribed lyric, Sappho
says,

Analysis Of Newton Raphson Load Flow Method With Wind
Power
5.1 Review
Li et.al[5] suggested Newton Raphson load flow method with wind power.
Asynchronous and double fed induction generator were explained in detail and
accordingly Jacobian matrices were suggested. An IEEE 5 bus system was used for
case study which proved that the new NR method had a good convergence hence
could be used for calculations for large grid with wind power. Steady state equivalent
circuit for AG and DFIG were also discussed in the paper.
Feijoo et.al [6] proposed two methods for simulation of wind farms with
asynchronous generators for load flow analysis which were based on steady state
model of induction machine. In the first model wind generator was modelled as a
PQ bus with real power and power factor known and reactive power was calculated.
Some improvement in steady state model of induction machine was done. In the
second model an RX model was used which involved modelling the generators in
steady state in the bus where the wind farm was located.

Rapid consumption of non renewable fossil fuels as sources of energy has lead to
depletion of these resources. So the price of petroleum resource has increased in the
international market. A growing concern over their environmental effects has lead to
research and development in the area of renewable energy to find an alternative
source of energy for future. Wind energy which possesses the highest power density
amongst various renewable energy sources, is one such source. [27].

by this and conjured the oath that had been taken by all the suitors of Helen.
Helped by his brother Agamemnon, the two set a course for Troy. The departure

Artificial Neural Networks And Predictive Policing

person react if he/she is suspected to commit a crime? How would that person feel if
the police just randomly show up and ask for the intention of whatever that makes
him/her suspicious? This is what will happen, frequently, if artificial neural networks
are used as a mean for predictive policing. First, just to clarify, predictive policing is
seeking to prevent futureharm and reduce crimerates by analyzing information and

People often think that if there s science that supports the systems, it would be
accurate. However, the information the systems take in is not just at all. In order
to support my argument, I want to point out that there are cases where colored
people are in a disadvantage for more likely to be accused even though the white
are doing the same thing. For instance, the police has always targeted more on
black people than on white people on trafficking. Because the crimes that took
place in the past are not in favored of black people, there are more cases against
them. Therefore, the systems sort through the data and conclude that black people
are more likely to commit the same type of crime, and suggesting the police put
more attention on them. If the read in information is not bias free, how can the
prediction be just to everyone? My second argument is that neural networks violate
people s privacy when they collect information from social media or any other
means without their consent. Although some predictive policing software only
allow the police to predict the type, time, and location of a crime, other police
systems are used without protecting people s right for privacy. Our data, posts,
information, and pictures are being looked over by the predictive policing systems
without us knowing or agreeing upon it. Therefore, it is not fair for the police to

Visual Symbolism In Labyrinth By Jorge Luis Borges

nature of knowledge. The complexities of Borges s writing making clear that not
all things are easy to understand and decipher. In all his short stories the images
help the readers to understand the message or the meaning of the text. For
instance, Jorges uses much the images of the Mirror, the Labyrinth, the Circle, and
the mise en abyme to signal one of his great themes, knowledge as an illusion. He
lays emphasis on the infinity of knowledge and the impossibility of acquiring all of
it. He also speaks of metafiction in his short story; how books speak of other book

The library is compared to a labyrinth with its composition of an indefinite and
perhaps infinite number of hexagonal galleries, with vast air shafts between,
surrounded by very low railings (Borges1962, p.62). The universe is compared to a
large and vast library whereby the latter s circumference is inaccessible (p.63). The
image of the labyrinth in the story suggests the idea of the universe as an infinite
library of knowledge and since the circumference is unreachable, we understand
that one cannot grasp all the knowledge of the world. What keeps men captured in
the cage of the universe is the fact that he cannot acquire all knowledge and all the
languages of the world: as was natural, this inordinate hope was followed by an
excessive depression. The certitude that some shelf in some hexagon held precious
books and that these precious books were inaccessible, seemed almost intolerable
(Borges1962, p.66) This story makes us question our knowledge. How much to do we
know about the universe? As we have seen, through the image of the labyrinth,
human knowledge is infinite. To conclude, visual symbolism is important in
decoding Borges fiction because it is those images that help the reader interpret the
short story. Furthermore, the imageries, that Borges had used, are what render his

Benito Mussolini, AKA Il Dulce
Benito Mussolini, known as Il Duce, was the founder of the totalitarian form of
government known as Fascism. However that was not enough recognition; Mussolini
wanted to demonstrate to the world that he could be a successful ruler as well.
Mussolini came to power and remained in power primarily due to the actions of the
Italian Blackshirts. As the Blackshirts maintained law and order, terrorized political
opponents, defended Italy, and marched on Rome, Mussolini successfully ruled as
dictator.
Controlled and led by Mussolini, the Italian Blackshirts also known as the Squadre
d Azione, were made up of war veterans and young people led by ringleaders. The
Blackshirt uniform consisted of a green jacket and trouser with a black shirt and
tie. The green colors were similar to that of the army uniforms, but the black shirt
and tie differentiated the Blackshirts from the other combat forces. The Blackshirts
were first created on March 23, 1919 and played a vital role in the rule of
Mussolini. Benito Mussolini s rise to power primarily relied on the Blackshirts
march on Rome. On October 24, 1922, Mussolini hosted a Fascist convention in
Naples as the reason for the March on Rome. There he declared, Either the
government will be given to us, or we will seize it by marching on Rome. Mussolini s
plan was to threaten to occupy the nation s capital of Rome with his forces, the
Blackshirts, and pressure King Victor Emmanuel III into inviting him into the
government.

Veterinary medicinehas been a profession for one hundred and fifty years in the

on livestock animals, herd health, and horses. On his website, Veterinarian Roger
Ross noted that companion animal medicine has improved greatly within the past
several decades shifting to an increased appreciation of preventative medicine

Plate Reactionics And Plate Tectonics
Plate tectonics, plate tectonics are a theory explaining the structure of the earth and
rarely resulting in the interaction of stiff lithospheric plates that move slowly over the
lurking mantle below. Plate tectonics has been around for about 3.2 million years,
and still continues now. What does it do? Well plate tectonicsare several plates that
skim the top of the mantleВґs bumpy interior layer on top of the core. The plates act
like a solid and stiff frame in comparison to earth s mantle. The outer layer of the
earth is called the lithosphere; the lithosphere is the strongest, toughest layer of the
earth. Plate tectonics are a stylish way of continental drift. Continental drift is an
assumption of the continents once moving around earth created by Alfred Wegener.
Although we don t physically observe plate tectonics happening, it has definitely
affected many things, created many things, and destroyed many things. Over time
we see what plate tectonics have done. I am going to be explaining how plate
tectonics have shaped volcanoes, how plate tectonics has shaped mountains and also
how it has constructed earthquakes. Usually when the plates being forced together or
being yanked volcanos are being formed. Have you ever noticed how volcanoes
usually take place in the same spot as earthquakes? When the tectonic plates move
apart from each other, burning hot magma rises and fills the empty areas in between.
When the tectonic plates become one, one of the tectonic plates
What Is The Purpose Of Lies My Teacher Told Me
History is almost always written by the winners. As a result, the details of pivotal
historical events are often washed as to prevent the dirty, less flattering details to
rise to the surface. It is why we need books such as Lies My Teacher Told Me. by
James W. Loewen to uncover and expose the propogandic style teachings of high
school textbooks. In his book, he has detailed his writings that are intended to elicit a
thought provoking question is our curriculum geared toward immortalizing the great
achievements of our nation while keeping the dark, checkered deeds hidden? That is
the purpose of his dogma, and this analysis we will uncover what exactly happened
that prompted Loewen to release such an argumentative book, as well as weather or
not he is right.
We will begin by analysing why Lowen wrote this book. From what has been detailed
in the introduction, Loewen states that the process of teaching American History has
been whitewashed the achievements of non whites and women have been swept
aside, merely mentioned once every so often. To quote:
...While there is nothing wrong with optimism, it can become something of a burden
for students of color, children of working class parents, girls who notice the dearth of
female historical figures, or members of any group that has not achieved socio
economic success. The optimistic approach prevents any understanding of failure
other than blaming the victim. No wonder children of color are alienated. Even for

Paralegal Communication Skills
A paralegal needs effective communication skills to build a strong foundation of trust
with clients as well as colleagues. Having the right communication skills, and the
ability to have an educated in depth conversation with your client in an interview
shows that you and the attorney you represent take your jobs seriously and will do
the best you can to fulfill his needs. Learning how to create trust, control your
emotions as well as your attitude, and adjust the conversation to fit the client, will
provide better success in your workplace and will also make stronger more
meaningful conversations with friends and family in more casual settings.

The development of good communication skills take time, patience, and practice,
but is highly beneficial. In order to continue climbing the career ladder, and to
increase your chances of success in life, you need to be mindful of effective
communication strategies. (Lewis et al.). Knowing how to communicate with
people effectively will make your job as a paralegal much easier. Understanding
how to read a client and control how he will perceive you will get the results you
are looking for in an interview. Not only will effective communication skills make
your job easier but it will make communication in any other environment easier.
Practicing these steps in daily conversations with others can help to teach you how
others perceive things when they are being spoken to, also teaching you how to be a
better listener when you are on the receiving end of a

Power Rangers Research Papers
Dean Israelite s Power Rangers movie is a tediously paced heavy handed attempt at
rebooting a franchise that was better left alone.
Summary
The film starts off centering around Billy (RJ Cyler), who is longing to finish a
project his late father started concerning an energy source at the base of a
mountain in Angel Grove (his hometown). He makes friends with Jason (Darce
Montgomery), who he meets in Saturday detention and they agree to meet up later
that night. The deal was Jason would drive him to the site of the mountain in
exchange for Jason getting some help with his pesky house arrest bracelet he now
has to wear. They eventually make it to the location only to learn that some of the
same teens who have detention on Saturday night apparently like hanging out at a
random mountain on Friday evening. We have Kimberly (Naomi Scott) a
cheerleader who has been ostracized, Trini (Becky G) a confused young girl who
thinks she is gay, and Zack (Ludi Lin) the bad boy, all seem to be up some
shenanigans. Things quickly take a turn when they hear an explosion and realize
that it was Billy who causes it (apparently he brought some dynamite with him).
Amongst the rubble, the team discovers some power coins, and some new found
super powers. Little do they know that they set in motion events that will lead to
them coming face to face with the projection of an alien named Zordon (Bryan
Cranston), a robot named Alpha 5 (Bill Hader), and a gold driven villain named Rita

how evil she was on screen. Those long gold fingernails looked equal parts painful

Montaigne Tone
Throughout the history of civilization, there have been many great thinkers and
philosophers who lay claim and offer their theory of the world around them. Michel
de Montaigne, a prominent philosopher of the French Renaissance, argued in his
essays of the habitual inconsistency of man and how it is nearly impossible for man
to correct these everyday irregularities and contradictions. To say that man is flawed
and utterly irregular are statements not particularly surprising or revelatory for
philosophers to make, even in Montaigne s time. However, what can be considered
unique about Montaigne, aside from his sharp perceptions of the everyday man, are
his sharp and honest perceptions of himself, never bragging about his intellectual
prowess or... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With each philosopher comes a different theory and approach to life, but a common
thread amongst a great many of them is this tone, this speaking with certainness and
authority. For instance, in the famous quote by Rene Descartes, I think, therefore I
am, comes with it a type of assertiveness. Montaigne s approach, however, comes in
contrary to Descartes. Rather than coming across as definite and without doubt,
Montaigne speaks very modestly and even query. In his Of the Inconstancy of Our
Actions, Montaigne states, I have nothing to say of myself entirely, simply, and
solidly without mixture and confusion (4 5). So, rather than saying, I think, therefore
I am, Montaigne seems to first ask, What is it that I think, why do I think that, and
how does this get back to me? all while trying to put the pieces of his character
together. Also, the simple fact remains that one cannot heighten their image or affirm
their stature without first fully knowing what their image or stature is. And
Montaigne seems rather uneasy to make such announcements. Rather than having
explanation marks, Montaigne would hang questions for nearly every statement he
would make; he did not feel he was capable of developing a grand plan or theory
behind things, and this modesty can be found in the initial purpose of his
Factors Affecting The Human Capacity
Introduction:
The experiment involves test subjects with different heights blowing into same
elasticity balloons in one breath to discover if there are any correlations between
human s vital capacity and height. This experiment is categorized as biology as
vital capacity is due to lungs and lungs are organs in a human body. Vital capacity
is the amount of air that can be forcibly expelled from the lungs after breathing in
as deeply as possible. The vital capacity is about 4,800 mL (4.8L) for an average
human, which is the total amount of air that can be expired after fully inhaling. The
vital capacity is= approximately 80 percent of total lung capacity. = Tidal volume +
inspiratory reserve volume + expiratory reserve volume The total lung capacity
(TLC) is the volume of air contained in the lungs after maximal inspiration plus
residual volume and for an average male is around 6000ml (6L). To remain a fair
test, many factors could affect one s vital capacity. Pregnancy for woman would
decreases her vital capacity as during pregnancy the diaphragm is compressed by the
uterus, which decreases total lung capacity. Pulmonary diseases such as asthma,
Bronchitis, Common Cold, Lung cancer and other diseases can also affect vital
capacity. Asthma restricts the airway allowing less air to pass through to their lungs
which unable their lungs to stretch as much. Previous researches has shown
woodwind and digeridoo players have larger lung capacity due to their experience and

where to start and in what direction to go. I started walking with my brother behind

I remember carefully digging away the sand , bracing myself for that moment that

Adam and Eve and Temptation Essay

20 December 2010
Temptation Temptation has been around since the conception of our Earth. All
civilizations, including the Egyptians, the Greeks, the Romans, the British, and even
modern day individuals, have fallen victim to temptations that the world offers. John
Owen described temptation as a knife, that may either cut the meat or the throat of a
man; it may be his food or his poison, his exercise or destruction. A temptation is an
act that appears enticing to an individual, but is usually coupled with damaging
implications that may lead to feelings of regret and remorse. A person may fall victim
to temptation when he lacks the self control to avoid enticing situations and is ...

Temptation is also rabid in most high school settings. Sex, illegal drugs, alcohol,
cheating, and tobacco are all temptations students are faced with on a daily basis.
Teenagers must each make personal decisions to either refrain from immoral conduct
or succumb to the temptations of peer pressure, usually with the hopes of being
accepted. The temptations of potentially destructive decisions are immense. It takes
a strong willed individual to stand up against the majority and hold true to his
values. Not bowing to temptation is a difficult task for any person, but especially for
a high school student who is more worried about his own popularity and appearance
and has yet to grow his moral fibers. The temptations that the youth of our modern
culture experience are very appealing, but their consequences are more damaging
than ever before. Temptation surrounds our lives. Daily, we make decisions to either
surrender to it or to persevere against it. It takes courage, bravery, and discipline to
withstand temptation. William Butler Yeatswrote that Every conquering temptation
represents a new found moral energy. Every trial endured and weathered in the right
spirit makes a soul nobler and stronger than it was before. When an individual
overcomes the temptation of participating in an immoral act, he grows as a person
and becomes morally stronger. With the knowledge of the results of a bad decision, a

these losses. You have specifically expressed your concern about paying the fees of
our firm. Therefore, I will now provide all the possible funding methods related to

Funding Methods:
There are numerous ways which you can use to fund your personal injury claim;
1)Conditional Fee Agreements (CFAs): A CFA is a legal funding arrangement in
which you do not have to pay for my basic charges as your solicitor if your claim is
unsuccessful. In other words, the fees are only payable if your case is won. In the
event of a successful claim, you will have to pay your own costs for the case and a
success fee. Success fee will be calculated as a percentage based on the costs paid
by the defendant and this percentage will be decided prior to the case. The success
fee must be paid from the compensation that you have received. As this is a
personal injury claim, the maximum success fee deduction that can be made from
your compensation is 25%. On the other hand, if you lose the case, there will be no
success fee payments but you will be required to pay for your own disbursements as

William Domhoff s Who Rules America Essay
Reading G. William Domhoff s Who Rules America?: The Triumph of the
Corporate Rich was an intriguing and challenging experience for me. My limited
knowledge base of the American political class system mostly stems from high
school US History classes and listening to my mom s stories of her experiences in
the corporate world. Therefore, I am aware that due to my prior lack of knowledge
on the topics presented in Domhoff s book, I may have misjudged some of his finer
points. Part of my struggles may be largely due to the fact that Domhoff s intended
audience for Who Rules America? is other experts in the field of understanding the
sociology of the corporate eliteand their resources of power. However, I believe that
the book has given me a better, if not complete, understanding of the corporate elite
and how they stay in power.
I found the book to be extremely well researched. When Domhoff presents a point,
he uses several sources and logical reasons to back up his theory. For example, when
relating the dominance of the political elite on the government, Domhoff examines
the amount of influence the corporate rich have in our judicial system by
investigating the nine Supreme Court judges during the Obama administration. He
discovered that all of them graduated from one of three elite institutions: Harvard,
Yale, or Columbia (Domhoff, 178, 2014). Domhoff treats most of his assertions in a
similar fashion; he uses extensive research backs up his claims. The book explains the
The Issues With Organizational Communication
Issues with Organizational Communication Crises are seen substantially as media
events. Therefore media coverage whether they have been natural or man made; is
indicative of how important, essential and even at times, how down right frustrating
the media has been and will continue to be before, during and after a crisis. Many
people tend to turn to the media and various different media sites (such as Twitter,
Facebook, etc.) to gain pertinent information regarding an event that has taken place
or that is on going. But this has not been done without any issues. When a crisis
occurs sometimes emotions take over and all other plans go out the window.
Communicationis nil at best which can mean that others will suffer. Organization
and communication is the key to the response and recovery efforts of a disaster. At
times before, during and after a disaster there is a lack of inter organizational
networking and/or communication. Inter organization networks are increasingly
portrayed as a more effective form of organization among businesses (Newell and
Swan, 2000). This is essential for businesses in order to be effective in coordinating
the work and required for the development of trust. This makes a huge difference in
the response and recovery phase.
During Hurricane Katrina crisis communication was a huge problem from which it
overshadowed the disaster itself and its aftermath causing politicians and government
officials to waste time arguing than trying to devise a plan to
Jekyll And Mr Hyde Symbolism
Maybe not so surprisingly for some at this point, we find that Jekyll s and Hyde s
houses are the same buiding, with two façades and a secret passageway
connecting Hyde s room and Jekyll s laboratory, which symbolises the
transformation that the protagonist suffers from being a respectful man to
becoming a murderer. The houses themselves are also a representation of both
sides of the character: Jekyll s house was furnished with luxury and good taste. A
closet was filled with wine; the plate was of silver, the napery elegant; a good
picture hung upon the walls, [...] and the carpets were of many plies and agreeable
in colour. (Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, chapter 4) Mr. Utterson s description reflects Dr.

Systems Administration and Network Administration
Systems Administration and Network Administration Systems administration and
network administration are, in many respects, very similar jobs. Both positions are
highly involved in maintaining the computer systems in an organization, and, in
some smaller firms, the position may be handled by the same individual. However,
while there are significant similarities between systems administration and network
administration, there are differences in the roles as well. Basically speaking, system
administration focuses on computer systems and networks, while network
administration looks at maintenance and upkeep of the hardware and software that
composes the network (Entrance Exams 2012, 2012). Because there is obviously an
overlap between the two different job descriptions, it can be difficult to understand
why it is so important for information technology professionals to differentiate
between network and systems administration. However, when one understands the
different roles of the two different positions, it becomes clear that, why they might
overlap, and why a single individual might be able to handle the position in a small
organization, there are actually substantial differences between the two positions.
Particularly in a large organization, the two jobs may need to be handled by different
professionals with different skill sets. It is because of these different skill sets that the
industry has been so adamant about differentiating between systems and network
Hamlet And Oedipus Similarities
There are just as many differences as there are similarities with Oedipus and Hamlet.
Oedipus kills his father, and the father of Hamlet is murdered by his uncle Claudius.
Both Oedipus and Hamlet are victims. Both Hamlet and Oedipus can avoid their fate,
however both of them feel the only solution to solving the issue at hand. The main
similarity I see between Oedipusand Hamlet is how they both believe that the only
way to save themselves from the set of mind they are in, is by solving it alone. They
alone must overcome what has happened and no one can change that. Hamlet and
Oedipus are both worried of the state of Denmark, and its current conditions. I can see
how Hamlet s father function like Apollo and Tiresius. Though have completely...

This causes Hamlet to change, his metal state is what is most affected. In Oedipus
the king, you have Apollo and Tiresius sort of doing the same thing. Although they
are not telling Oedipus to kill his father, but the fate they reveal to his parents is
what is guiding him his whole life. Both Hamlet and Oedipus seem to have their
lives controlled by people other than themselves. That is how I see the similarity
of how his father s ghost functions the same as Apollo and Tiresius. There are many
difficulties with Hamlet avenging his father. The most obvious is the act of killing
a king. Hamlet knows the punishment to come if he is caught, death. He also delays
because he does not seem to have a clear understanding of life. Many times throw
out the play he shows confusion, and lack of understanding. He shows many views
of the world revolving around him. One of the other reasons is the possibility that
the ghost of his father might actually be something else, an evil demo or the devil
himself. The difference of Hamlet and Oedipus can come from many theories. One of
which is how both of these men came from different

because the income levels of women in Essence is double the amount of those in

Christopher Columbus Religion
500 years ago, Spain was a nation gripped by fear and superstition, ruled by the
crown and a ruthless inquisition that persecuted men for daring to dream. One
man challenged this power. Driven by his sense of destiny, he crossed the sea of
darkness in search of honor, gold, and the greater glory of God (1492: Conquest of
Paradise). Overall, 1492: Conquest of Paradise was a good movie. It demonstrated
the highs and lows of Christopher Columbus s voyage and what happened once he
founded the New World. This movie allows the audience to understand the horrible
conditions, agony, and social standards of the time. Similar to the statements made in

The crewmen start to get anxious, and one even says, God does not want us to

in this voyage was Columbus s statement, Every man s afraid who does something

(1492: Conquest to Paradise). Just as everyone was getting discouraged they finally

but they called it the New World. Once they arrived on the island Columbus came
across a group called Tainos. They showed Columbus their gold and even permitted
him to take some back to reveal to the Queen. Once he returned to Spain, the findings
of the New World allowed him to set sail on another expedition. When he gets back
to the New World, Columbus and his followers start forming the City of La

confront the natives, but his followers do not agree, and a war rises. Columbus s
followers decided to exile him back to Spain. There he will be imprisoned for lying

the kids tried to grap for the gold ring, and so was old Phoebe, and I was sort of
afraid she d fall off the goddam horse, but I didn t say or do anything. The thing
with kids is, if they want to grab for the gold ring, you have to let them do it, and
not say anything. If they fall off, they fall off, but it is bad to say anything to them
(Salinger 208). Holden shows improvement in maturity and in impulse control
when he makes the deliberate decision to let her go by herself. He usually does
what he want to do. He rarely thinks before doing anything, but he realizes that she
is growing up and he can not stop her from seeing and feeling the corruption of the
world. Throughout The Catcher in the Rye extended metaphors are used to express
the importance of the overall message. Holden feels as though he must preotct the
kids from the corruptions he sees everyday: I
Essay about Oscar Wilde s An Ideal Husband
Oscar Wilde s An Ideal Husband
Oscar Wilde (1845 1903) lived an outrageous and controversial life which was well
publicized and condemned, as his life defied the strict social mores of the time. He
was put into this public position due to the success of his plays which challenged
Victorian earnestness while being hilariously funny. His plays, in particular An Ideal
Husband, 1895 portray Victorian society as viciously hypocritical at it s worst and
laughably pretentious at it s best. Wilde expressed this point of view in An Ideal
Husband through the rich use of plot development, construction of characters,
dramatic irony, hyperbole, witty and epigrammatic repartee and satire.
The central plot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The audience assumes that people in the real world as lucky and benevolent as
this are so becuase they worked hard and are earnest. By creating a character like
this who took the easy money and built a marriage and friendships around lies,
wilde has challenged the earnestness of the many victorian people because there
were many poeple in a social position like robert s who may have done a similar thing
to get there.
In An Ideal Husband Wilde presents a view (the least flattering view presented in the
play)that victorian society is viciously hypocritical. This is acheived through the
characterisation of Lady Gertrude chiltern, as her ridiculously high morals (an
important factor of earnestness) almost cost her her marriage. she demanded to be
told if robert had done some shameful thing, in which case they would separate. This
irony shows the hypocrisy of being too earnest.
Morality is an important factor of earnestness which is mocked in An Ideal Husband
by the dialogue of the play, especially the characterised dialogue of Mrs. Chevely.
Through her dialogue Morality is simply the attitude we adopt towards people whom
we personally dislike. , wilde, through Mrs.
The Things They Carried Persuasive Essay
Brittany A. Harris Veda Harris History 18 August 2015 How to survive the war
through the eyes of a solider During the Vietnam War, soldiers were not given the
opportunity to the modern coping mechanisms of our American culture today,
such as illustrated in Tim O Brien s The Things They Carried. These men were
required to learn and develop new ways to cope with the problems of war, using
only the resources they took with them, while in the Vietnamese jungle. It was not
likely for any soldier to carry many items or loads with them, but if something was
an essential, a way was found to take it with them, and coping mechanisms were a
necessity to survive in this war. American society today has a lot more options to
help them cope with the stress of life like anti depressants or psychiatrists. They have
the money and resources to pay for the medicine and the treatments that are so called
promised to give them a better life. During the Vietnam War, nonetheless, fighters
were not exposed to any of these... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because the romantic relationship between Martha and himself is not real, it lives
within his own fantasy world. This fantasy world seems to be the preferred mode
of survival for him and it was his necessary symbolic item for him to remember his
purpose in surviving the war, and therefore he needed them just as much as anyone
would need the ammunition for a gun, food to eat, or clothing on their backs, until
he believed his lack awareness of reality caused the death of a fellow man. After the
death of one of his men Cross decided to let Martha go, because she belonged to
another world, which was not quite real,... because she never loved him and never

Lorenzo s blood. Step 2: Lorenzo s parents did the background research on ALD to
better understand the disease. Step 3: They created a hypothesis. The Odones
hypothesis was that by modifying oil, they could be able to reduce the fat in
Lorenzo s blood. Step 4: They tested this by conducting experiments. The Odone s

This is an important question to ask because if a society like GATTACA is to be
avoided, then government has to ensure that society does not get divided into
classes. 5.a)The holocaust was a systematic persecution of communities of Jews,
disabled, and other minorities by the Nazis. GATTACA and the Holocaust have a
common theme of discrimination of people based on their genes. Although the
Holocaust was focused more on making Germany pure again by banning anyone
who did not the desired Arian features, GATTACA goes deeper into the genetic
make up of someone. GATTACA does not persecute the invalids, but does not give
them the equal opportunities. b)There are similarities between the Jewish
Resistance, and Vincent s pursuit of space exploration. Both were organized to rise
against the discriminatory policies. In GATTACA, resistance was shown through
Vincent going to space; he was aided by Jerome Morrow who offered Vincent his
own identity so the system would not catch Vincent as an invalid. Similarly, Jewish
civilians offered armed resistance in over 100 ghettos in occupied Poland and the

Cultural Difference And Decision Making
Assessment Task 2: Group Talk Assignment
What is cultural difference in decision making and does cultural difference influence
decision making?
In today s quick paced, focused and complex environment, decision making aptitudes
are essential qualities that any management must have. As human being, we are not
conceived with impeccable decision making aptitudes; we learn through skills and
experiences that begin our primary school stages to and keep on adapting through to
our expert life. Decision making can be hard and decision incudes a few clashes or
disappointment. Decision making is the process of making a one choice from number
of alternatives and committing to a future course of action. In this multiculturalism
world main question in decision making is cultural difference in an any organization.
And does cultural difference influences decision making.
In an illustrative sense multicultural is essentially a term which depicts the social and
ethnic assorted qualities of contemporary Australia. We are, and will remain, a
multicultural society. As an open approach multiculturalism incorporates government
measures intended to react to that assorted qualities. At present Australia s The
Commonwealth Government has distinguished three measurements of multicultural
arrangement.
Cultural identity: The privilege of all Australians, inside deliberately characterized
breaking points, to express and share their individual social legacy, including their
dialect and religion.
The Responsible Unemployment Compensation Extension
Act of...
The Responsible Unemployment Compensation Extension Act of 2014 is a bill that
is currently pending in Congress. The initial bill, the Unemployment Compensation
Extension Act (S.3688) was introduced in the Senate on November 17, 2008, in
which an amended version of the bill materialized on March 6, 2014 under the name,
Responsible Unemployment Compensation Extension Act of 2014 or S.2097. The
Act or law of 2008 would amend the Emergency Unemployment Compensation
(EUC) program established under the Supplemental Appropriations Act (SAA) of
2008, which provided several additional weeks of extended benefits for those who
have exhausted their unemployment insurance benefits (Whittaker, 2008). The
current bill, the Responsible Unemployment Compensation Extension Act of 2014
also amends the earlier version of the Act of 2008. This current bill seeks to exempt
weeks of unemployment between enactment of this Act by November 30, 2014,
from the prohibition in the Federal State Extended Unemployment Compensation
Act (FSEUCA) of 1970 against federal matching payments to a state for the first
week in an individual s eligibility period for which extended compensation or
sharable regular compensation is paid if the state law provides for payment of
regular compensation to an individual for his or her first week of otherwise
compensable unemployment (Vroman, 2009). The bill also proposes several
changes, some in which are (i) amendment to the Assistance for Unemployed Workers

human trafficking Essay
human trafficking issues:
the article starts out with a clear emphasis on the cooperation between the different
segments of society; cooperation between the state, civil society , and religious
groups and institutions on the issues of human trafficking and prostitution, stating
how they are immoral, illegal, unethical and how they should be considered as a
taboo by societies in Europe, especially Cyprus since the exploitation of women has
been rapidly increasing recently. Where all the 800bars and 70 cabarets take
advantage of uneducated, poor, unlucky and socially corrupted women at the cost of
reasons such as profit and pleasure, which may seem as lame reasons when
compared to the life and future of a young woman. The article also ... Show more

Another solution was the campaigning proposal, where protectors of human rights
helped increase public awareness of exactly what is going on and to what extent
women are exploited. the article was completely pro the abolishment of trafficking
and prostitution practices and there were no arguments or debates in defense of the
practices taking place in society.
There are a number of measures that should be undertaken by society for the
improvement of the existing situation before it gets any worse, making it harder to
fix later on, which would lead to a degraded corrupted society in the possible near
future. as the article mentioned, churches should be a big part in the process of
helping the exploited woman with the trauma their jobs brought to them. Also, the
public should be made clearly aware of the situation, and all the details included in
the issue of prostitution and how traffickers force it upon their employees.
Also, more patrollers should be made available to try and control the situation by
arresting traffickers, which may also scare off other traffickers involved in similar
situations. These among many other solutions deal with the short term perspective of
these issues, but more extreme issues should be taken into deep consideration for the
general prevalence of such isuues to be significantly reduced in the Cypriot society.
But these major global problems are unfixable due to the mere
US National Debt
The US National debt approaches 20 trillion dollars, and no large measures are in
place to slow its increase. Addressing the debt problem will require the American
people to sacrifice either their money, or the promises that the government gave to
them. The American people and their government must be responsible and address
the debt problem now, before it becomes unmanageable in the future.
The history of the egregiously high national debt is fairly recent. During Bill Clinton s
presidency, Congress was on a pay as you go system, meaning that Congress had to
plan for how they were going to pay for every action that they took. The United
States had a budget surplus, meaning that it had collected more taxes than it had
spent. There are several ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most politicians understand the problems of the ever increasing debt, but actually
solving it takes a lot of sacrifice. It would be nice if fiscal education could help
solve this problem. Americans always ask Congress for more while paying less.
With repealing the Affordable Care Act, for example, the people who are in favor
of replacing it ask for more coverage at a lower cost. This more for less attitude
causes the Medicare problem where people pull out four times more money than
they put into the system. As the Frontline program said, this is unsustainable. If
people were aware of the problems that they create with their wants from the
government, they might be able to concede giving some of these things up.
However, this might not work. Many people find it hard to give up their own
benefit for future people. Because of this, it will also require Congress to favor
balancing the budget over their popularity. The pay as you go program seemed to
work well in the 1990s, and I think implementing it again will allow Congress to be
more responsible with their money. Also, some Congressmen should step up and
create bills to fix the Medicare and Social Security problems that loom in the future,
either by raising taxes or by shrinking coverage. Both measures would be highly
unpopular, but it would be responsible to tackle the problem now, rather than push it
off for future people to deal
Spironucleus Mesnili Trophozoites
1. Describe the characteristics of the Retortamonadida and Diplomonadida orders.
Both Retortamonadida and Diplomonadida lack mitochondria as well as a Golgi
apparatus, which are also known as dictyosomes. Retortamonadida and
Diplomonadida also possess a recurrent flagella within a groove and can occupy low
oxygenenvironments. Both orders of Retortamonadida and Diplomonadida are
commonly found within humans.

Decriptive Essay

  • 1. Decriptive Essay Crafting a descriptive essay about oneself can be a challenging endeavor, as it requires a delicate balance between self-expression and objectivity. The task involves capturing one's essence, experiences, and personality in a way that resonates with the reader, while avoiding the pitfalls of self-indulgence or excessive modesty. Striking this balance demands introspection, self- awareness, and the ability to articulate personal details with clarity and purpose. The difficulty lies in avoiding clichГ©s and creating a unique portrayal that goes beyond a mere list of accomplishments or attributes. Describing oneself requires a nuanced approach, where the writer must navigate the fine line between self-promotion and genuine reflection. It involves delving into personal memories, emotions, and perspectives, which can be a daunting task as it involves exposing vulnerabilities and revealing one's inner thoughts. Additionally, maintaining the reader's interest throughout the essay is a formidable challenge. Without a compelling narrative or a distinctive voice, the essay may risk becoming monotonous or predictable. Striving for authenticity while ensuring the content remains engaging requires careful consideration of language, tone, and pacing. Moreover, the self-awareness needed for such an essay can be uncomfortable. It necessitates confronting both strengths and weaknesses, and the writer must be willing to acknowledge imperfections without undermining their overall message. This level of introspection demands time and effort, making the process of crafting a compelling descriptive essay about oneself a labor-intensive task. In conclusion, writing a descriptive essay about oneself is a challenging undertaking that requires a delicate balance between self-reflection and engaging storytelling. It involves navigating the complexities of self-awareness and authenticity while maintaining the reader's interest. It is called so because it stretches throughout the organization in all directions irrespective of the authority levels. Man as we know is a social animal. Despite existence of formal channels in an organization, the informal channels tend to develop when he interacts with other people in organization. It exists more at lower levels of organization. • 3. Essay about Josephine Baker Josephine Baker While Jim Crow laws were reeking havoc on the lives of African Americans in the South, a massed exodus of Southern musicians, particularly from New Orleans, spread the seeds of Jazz as far north as New York City. A new genre of music produced fissures in the walls of racial discrimination thought to be impenetrable. Musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, King Oliver and Fletcher Henderson performed to the first desegregated audiences. Duke Ellington starred in the first primetime radio program to feature an African American artist. And a quirky little girl from Missouri conquered an entire country enthralled by her dark skin, curvaceous body and dynamic personality. Josephine Baker was more than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While still in elementary school, she began dancing part time in a local chorus line. She left home at the age of 13; waiting tables most of the time and working on stage whenever possible. She joined a group of street musicians who called themselves the Jones Family Band. The work with the Band paid off when Baker acquired her first stage appearance at the Booker T. Washington Theater, St. Louis s black vaudeville house. Also appearing was the all black dance troupe, the Dixie Steppers. The manager of the Dixie Steppers took a liking to Baker and decided to make her part of the group. Since he couldn t find anything for her to do onstage, she became a dresser, principally for the troupe s star, Clara Baker. # By 1920, she was married, divorced and married again the second time to Willie Baker, a Pullman porter, from whom Baker took the name she used on stage. In April 1921, while the Dixie Steppers were touring in Philadelphia, one of the chorus girls hurt herself. For nearly a year, Ms. Baker had been studying the choreography of the show and practicing the steps behind the scenes. Another dancer was aware of Baker s abilities and suggested she fill in for the injured chorus girl. Ms. Baker took her place in the chorus line. Because she was much more lively and animated, she stood out from the rest of the ladies, which, obviously, is not the point of a chorus line. When the lyricist/composer team of Nobel Sissle
  • 4. Zhou Dynasty Dbq During the fall of the Zhou Dynasty, violence and chaos were soaring in China. In an attempt to achieve justice, various philosophers offered solutions in order to restore social and political order. From these efforts, three significant ethical systems were founded. These three major schools of philosophy, Legalism, Confucianism, and Daoism, are creations of unique views that portray their ideas of adequate societies as well as their perspectives on how one should govern. There is a circle in both yin and yang to represent the balance. Secondly, unlike Legalism and Confucianism, there is a strong belief in Daoism in not taking part in the government. In Document 8, the point of view is not interfering with the people in order to have success in taking over the empire. They believe that people will do better on their own without the government controlling them according to Document 8. Their beliefs against governing can be noticed in the Yellow Turban Rebellion against the government that lead to the end of the Han Dynasty. Also, because their beliefs have lasted to future time periods, Daoism was banned in China in 1949 under communism. In the Daoism perspective, there is a very different approach to government and society when compared to the other major schools of
  • 5. Aladdin The Musical Reflection The theater was largely attended by children and toddlers. To my surprise, I noticed that there were a decent number of adults attending the show too. I was not sure if they were dragged into the show by their own children or that they came to watch the performance willingly. Unfortunately, I was dragged into the theater to watch Aladdin the Musical with my younger siblings during a family outing in Disneyland. I tried my best to spot other adolescents in the theater. However, it felt like I was the only one. Embarrassed, I sat in deeper into my seat, hoping that no adults could find and criticize me. Aladdin the Musical uses the same plot from the movie, Aladdin as a foundation for their own plot. The plot is about how a thief was destined to be the prince of Agrabah with the help of a powerful genie and how an evil vizier named Jafar desired to take over the kingdom of Agrabah by abusing the genie s powers. As the emcee made his announcements, I assumed that I would fall asleep on the cushioned seat from all the boredom I would experience from a children s fairytale. For example, Aladdin was actually sent to prison by Jafar and he escaped it by using one of the genie s three wishes but the performance altered their story so they need not to reenact that scene. I also believed that the performance could have had more backstory. For example, the performance did not inform the audience that Princess Jasmine was fussy about choosing her suitors and that Jafar was trying to court her so that he can take over the kingdom of

Something in our lives lead us down the path to better our educationit was a tough road but being motivated kept us going. In Malcom X s short story, A Homemade Education, it talks about how Malcom was in prison and how he wanted to better his vocabulary and writing so he could effectively write letters to people. One of the quotes he writes about his frustration trying to explain what he means in his writings. I became increasingly frustrated at not being able to express what I wanted to convey in letters that I wrote, especially those to Mr. Elijah Muhammad. In the street, I had been the most articulate hustler out there I had commanded attention when I said something. But now, trying to write simple English, I not only wasn t articulate, I wasn t even functional (Malcom 437). When I decided to go back to school, I struggled with learning Algebra and I felt like I wasn t even functional. The Gesu is the first major building featuring Baroque, which is significant to the Counter Reformation, and it is also the template for Jesuit churches around the world. Baroque architecture followed renaissance art from the Middle Ages. The many aspects of this style make it feel as if it is going against the norm. Architects aspire to make baroque buildings look as if they are sculpted and contoured, rather than mathematically planned. Using techniques to make walls look curved together as one single entity is a way baroque artists integrated movement into architecture. Unique ground plans of oval or ellipse shape are a distinguished aspect of baroque, in contrast to the circles, squares, and Greek crosses used in the renaissance. Architecturally, the Gesu is a marvel. It is the second largest in size, following St. Peters Basilica, and also has one of the largest domes in Rome. The baroque aspect of the dome is its inability to be seen from the front of the church, it is only viewable from the sides. In addition, the pillars on the exterior are in even pairs of two lining the front wall, however they are carved out of the stone, not standing independently. Despite this, the pillars still

I used to consider the task of writing appalling and demanding as it would take me hours to complete, but now at the conclusion of the semester that is not the case. Each project give me a new set of valuable skills that I will be able to use far into my future career, helping me along the way. Despite this initial feeling however, I found just the contrary now that the semester comes to an end. The journal writings forced me to revamp my overall writing style, teaching me how to just write what comes to mind, making the process more fluent and efficient. Prior to this change I would spend a vast amount of time writing each sentence as I would critique and edit as I wrote. Not only do I find my newly discovered method of writing to be more efficient but also it leads to a more natural flow and feel in my writing. The journal writings were in my opinion very important to my advancement to become a better writer. Perfect paragraphs taught me a vast amount as well, as I was now forced to take some of my roughest writing, and make it as perfect as I can

First, one most look to the white beach, Edna has trod on her entire life. This beach is the safe and sturdy ground that Adele Ratignolle thrives upon. Attired all in white, Madame Ratignolle embodies the very spirit of the mother woman. They were women who idolized their children, worshiped their husbands, and esteemed it a holy privilege to efface themselves as individuals and grow wings as ministering angels. Ch. IV, pg 385. However, on this white beach, where women in white brood over all, . . .Edna was not a mother woman. Ch. IV, pg 385. Rather than dig her toes into the colorless sands, Edna prefers meandering walks, perhaps on the shoreline itself. The imagery of Edna walking along as the waters lap at her feet is profound. Edna is thus far trapped on the ground, not yet knowing how to swim, but wanting desperately to swim into the boundless water. Therefore, she must be content with life on land, experiencing only a portion of the fluid as it swirls around her ankles. So Edna marries a man her father approves of, has children her husband approves of, and mimes a life society approves of. Here and there, the water of living laps at Edna s feet tempting her to jump in.
  • 12. The Power Of Love In Sappho Other authors after Homer also use reverence for a god s domain as a tool to gain attention from the gods. In the Fragments, the author, Sappho, uses this tool to gain attention from the gods for herself. Sappho is a lover of love and her work shows her obsession with love as most of her partially retained and transcribed lyrics focus on love and its different forms. In supplication to the goddess Aphrodite, Sappho writes, Deathless Aphrodite of the spangled mind... I beg you do not break with hard pains, O lady, my heart (The Fragments, pg.3). Due to the fact that love is Aphrodite s domain, Aphrodite pays attention to Sappho someone who personifies and respects the power of love. Subsequently, after Sappho s supplication, Aphrodite asks, Whom should I persuade (now again) to lead you back into her love? Who, O Sappho, is wronging you? (The fragments, pg.3). The use of the phrase now again indicates that Aphrodite not only pays attention to Sappho, but that Aphrodite helps Sappho in issues of love repeatedly. Out of context, the phrase now again also denotes and exasperated tone, however, the preceding context states that Aphrodite greeted Sappho smiling a symbol of pleasure with another. Additionally, Sappho gains the attention of Herabecause of her mention and praise of marriage in lyric 44, motherly love in lyric 132 and the praise of women throughout all powers that lie under Hera s domain. Recently in a newly discovered and transcribed lyric, Sappho says,

  • 14. Analysis Of Newton Raphson Load Flow Method With Wind Power 5.1 Review Li et.al[5] suggested Newton Raphson load flow method with wind power. Asynchronous and double fed induction generator were explained in detail and accordingly Jacobian matrices were suggested. An IEEE 5 bus system was used for case study which proved that the new NR method had a good convergence hence could be used for calculations for large grid with wind power. Steady state equivalent circuit for AG and DFIG were also discussed in the paper. Feijoo et.al [6] proposed two methods for simulation of wind farms with asynchronous generators for load flow analysis which were based on steady state model of induction machine. In the first model wind generator was modelled as a PQ bus with real power and power factor known and reactive power was calculated. Some improvement in steady state model of induction machine was done. In the second model an RX model was used which involved modelling the generators in steady state in the bus where the wind farm was located. 1.1 General Rapid consumption of non renewable fossil fuels as sources of energy has lead to depletion of these resources. So the price of petroleum resource has increased in the international market. How would a person react if he/she is suspected to commit a crime? How would that person feel if the police just randomly show up and ask for the intention of whatever that makes him/her suspicious? This is what will happen, frequently, if artificial neural networks are used as a mean for predictive policing. In order to support my argument, I want to point out that there are cases where colored people are in a disadvantage for more likely to be accused even though the white are doing the same thing. For instance, the police has always targeted more on black people than on white people on trafficking. Because the crimes that took place in the past are not in favored of black people, there are more cases against them. Therefore, the systems sort through the data and conclude that black people are more likely to commit the same type of crime, and suggesting the police put more attention on them. If the read in information is not bias free, how can the prediction be just to everyone? My second argument is that neural networks violate people s privacy when they collect information from social media or any other means without their consent. Although some predictive policing software only allow the police to predict the type, time, and location of a crime, other police systems are used without protecting people s right for privacy. Our data, posts, information, and pictures are being looked over by the predictive policing systems without us knowing or agreeing upon it. Therefore, it is not fair for the police to search our

In all his short stories the images help the readers to understand the message or the meaning of the text. For instance, Jorges uses much the images of the Mirror, the Labyrinth, the Circle, and the mise en abyme to signal one of his great themes, knowledge as an illusion. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The library is compared to a labyrinth with its composition of an indefinite and perhaps infinite number of hexagonal galleries, with vast air shafts between, surrounded by very low railings (Borges1962, p.62). The universe is compared to a large and vast library whereby the latter s circumference is inaccessible (p.63). The image of the labyrinth in the story suggests the idea of the universe as an infinite library of knowledge and since the circumference is unreachable, we understand that one cannot grasp all the knowledge of the world. What keeps men captured in the cage of the universe is the fact that he cannot acquire all knowledge and all the languages of the world: as was natural, this inordinate hope was followed by an excessive depression. The certitude that some shelf in some hexagon held precious books and that these precious books were inaccessible, seemed almost intolerable (Borges1962, p.66) This story makes us question our knowledge. How much to do we know about the universe? As we have seen, through the image of the labyrinth, human knowledge is infinite. To conclude, visual symbolism is important in decoding Borges fiction because it is those images that help the reader interpret the short story. Furthermore, the imageries, that Borges had used, are what render his work

The Blackshirt uniform consisted of a green jacket and trouser with a black shirt and tie. The green colors were similar to that of the army uniforms, but the black shirt and tie differentiated the Blackshirts from the other combat forces. The Blackshirts were first created on March 23, 1919 and played a vital role in the rule of Mussolini. Benito Mussolini s rise to power primarily relied on the Blackshirts march on Rome. On October 24, 1922, Mussolini hosted a Fascist convention in Naples as the reason for the March on Rome. There he declared, Either the government will be given to us, or we will seize it by marching on Rome. Mussolini s plan was to threaten to occupy the nation s capital of Rome with his forces, the Blackshirts, and pressure King Victor Emmanuel III into inviting him into the government.

Plate Reactionics And Plate Tectonics Plate tectonics, plate tectonics are a theory explaining the structure of the earth and rarely resulting in the interaction of stiff lithospheric plates that move slowly over the lurking mantle below. Plate tectonics has been around for about 3.2 million years, and still continues now. What does it do? Well plate tectonicsare several plates that skim the top of the mantleВґs bumpy interior layer on top of the core. The plates act like a solid and stiff frame in comparison to earth s mantle. The outer layer of the earth is called the lithosphere; the lithosphere is the strongest, toughest layer of the earth. Plate tectonics are a stylish way of continental drift. Continental drift is an assumption of the continents once moving around earth created by Alfred Wegener. Although we don t physically observe plate tectonics happening, it has definitely affected many things, created many things, and destroyed many things. Over time we see what plate tectonics have done. I am going to be explaining how plate tectonics have shaped volcanoes, how plate tectonics has shaped mountains and also how it has constructed earthquakes. Usually when the plates being forced together or being yanked volcanos are being formed. Have you ever noticed how volcanoes usually take place in the same spot as earthquakes? When the tectonic plates move apart from each other, burning hot magma rises and fills the empty areas in between. When the tectonic plates become one, one of the tectonic plates

As a result, the details of pivotal historical events are often washed as to prevent the dirty, less flattering details to rise to the surface. It is why we need books such as Lies My Teacher Told Me. by James W. Loewen to uncover and expose the propogandic style teachings of high school textbooks. In his book, he has detailed his writings that are intended to elicit a thought provoking question is our curriculum geared toward immortalizing the great achievements of our nation while keeping the dark, checkered deeds hidden? That is the purpose of his dogma, and this analysis we will uncover what exactly happened that prompted Loewen to release such an argumentative book, as well as weather or not he is right. We will begin by analysing why Lowen wrote this book. From what has been detailed in the introduction, Loewen states that the process of teaching American History has been whitewashed the achievements of non whites and women have been swept aside, merely mentioned once every so often. To quote: ...While there is nothing wrong with optimism, it can become something of a burden for students of color, children of working class parents, girls who notice the dearth of female historical figures, or members of any group that has not achieved socio economic success. The optimistic approach prevents any understanding of failure other than blaming the victim. No wonder children of color are alienated. Even for male

Summary The film starts off centering around Billy (RJ Cyler), who is longing to finish a project his late father started concerning an energy source at the base of a mountain in Angel Grove (his hometown). He makes friends with Jason (Darce Montgomery), who he meets in Saturday detention and they agree to meet up later that night. The deal was Jason would drive him to the site of the mountain in exchange for Jason getting some help with his pesky house arrest bracelet he now has to wear. We have Kimberly (Naomi Scott) a cheerleader who has been ostracized, Trini (Becky G) a confused young girl who thinks she is gay, and Zack (Ludi Lin) the bad boy, all seem to be up some shenanigans. Things quickly take a turn when they hear an explosion and realize that it was Billy who causes it (apparently he brought some dynamite with him). Amongst the rubble, the team discovers some power coins, and some new found super powers. Michel de Montaigne, a prominent philosopher of the French Renaissance, argued in his essays of the habitual inconsistency of man and how it is nearly impossible for man to correct these everyday irregularities and contradictions. To say that man is flawed and utterly irregular are statements not particularly surprising or revelatory for philosophers to make, even in Montaigne s time. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With each philosopher comes a different theory and approach to life, but a common thread amongst a great many of them is this tone, this speaking with certainness and authority. For instance, in the famous quote by Rene Descartes, I think, therefore I am, comes with it a type of assertiveness. Montaigne s approach, however, comes in contrary to Descartes. Rather than coming across as definite and without doubt, Montaigne speaks very modestly and even query. In his Of the Inconstancy of Our Actions, Montaigne states, I have nothing to say of myself entirely, simply, and solidly without mixture and confusion (4 5). So, rather than saying, I think, therefore I am, Montaigne seems to first ask, What is it that I think, why do I think that, and how does this get back to me? all while trying to put the pieces of his character together. Also, the simple fact remains that one cannot heighten their image or affirm their stature without first fully knowing what their image or stature is. And Montaigne seems rather uneasy to make such announcements. Rather than having explanation marks, Montaigne would hang questions for nearly every statement he would make; he did not feel he was capable of developing a grand plan or theory behind things, and this modesty can be found in the initial purpose of his

Factors Affecting The Human Capacity Introduction: The experiment involves test subjects with different heights blowing into same elasticity balloons in one breath to discover if there are any correlations between human s vital capacity and height. This experiment is categorized as biology as vital capacity is due to lungs and lungs are organs in a human body. Vital capacity is the amount of air that can be forcibly expelled from the lungs after breathing in as deeply as possible. The vital capacity is about 4,800 mL (4.8L) for an average human, which is the total amount of air that can be expired after fully inhaling. The vital capacity is= approximately 80 percent of total lung capacity. = Tidal volume + inspiratory reserve volume + expiratory reserve volume The total lung capacity (TLC) is the volume of air contained in the lungs after maximal inspiration plus residual volume and for an average male is around 6000ml (6L). To remain a fair test, many factors could affect one s vital capacity. Pregnancy for woman would decreases her vital capacity as during pregnancy the diaphragm is compressed by the uterus, which decreases total lung capacity. Pulmonary diseases such as asthma, Bronchitis, Common Cold, Lung cancer and other diseases can also affect vital capacity. Asthma restricts the airway allowing less air to pass through to their lungs which unable their lungs to stretch as much. Previous researches has shown woodwind and digeridoo players have larger lung capacity due to their experience and

My limited knowledge base of the American political class system mostly stems from high school US History classes and listening to my mom s stories of her experiences in the corporate world. Therefore, I am aware that due to my prior lack of knowledge on the topics presented in Domhoff s book, I may have misjudged some of his finer points. However, I believe that the book has given me a better, if not complete, understanding of the corporate elite and how they stay in power. I found the book to be extremely well researched. When Domhoff presents a point, he uses several sources and logical reasons to back up his theory. For example, when relating the dominance of the political elite on the government, Domhoff examines the amount of influence the corporate rich have in our judicial system by investigating the nine Supreme Court judges during the Obama administration. He discovered that all of them graduated from one of three elite institutions: Harvard, Yale, or Columbia (Domhoff, 178, 2014). Domhoff treats most of his assertions in a similar fashion; he uses extensive research backs up his claims. The book explains the

Therefore media coverage whether they have been natural or man made; is indicative of how important, essential and even at times, how down right frustrating the media has been and will continue to be before, during and after a crisis. Many people tend to turn to the media and various different media sites (such as Twitter, Facebook, etc.) to gain pertinent information regarding an event that has taken place or that is on going. But this has not been done without any issues. When a crisis occurs sometimes emotions take over and all other plans go out the window. Communicationis nil at best which can mean that others will suffer. Organization and communication is the key to the response and recovery efforts of a disaster. At times before, during and after a disaster there is a lack of inter organizational networking and/or communication. Inter organization networks are increasingly portrayed as a more effective form of organization among businesses (Newell and Swan, 2000). This is essential for businesses in order to be effective in coordinating the work and required for the development of trust. This makes a huge difference in the response and recovery phase. During Hurricane Katrina crisis communication was a huge problem from which it overshadowed the disaster itself and its aftermath causing politicians and government officials to waste time arguing than trying to devise a plan to

Both positions are highly involved in maintaining the computer systems in an organization, and, in some smaller firms, the position may be handled by the same individual. However, while there are significant similarities between systems administration and network administration, there are differences in the roles as well. Basically speaking, system administration focuses on computer systems and networks, while network administration looks at maintenance and upkeep of the hardware and software that composes the network (Entrance Exams 2012, 2012). Because there is obviously an overlap between the two different job descriptions, it can be difficult to understand why it is so important for information technology professionals to differentiate between network and systems administration. However, when one understands the different roles of the two different positions, it becomes clear that, why they might overlap, and why a single individual might be able to handle the position in a small organization, there are actually substantial differences between the two positions. • 41. Symbolism In Catcher In The Rye Growing Pains Where has my heart gone An uneven trade for the real world Oh I... I want to go back to Believing in everything and knowing nothing at all ( Evanescence) This rings true to everyone who hears it because there is beauty in the simplicity of a child s life. Even when transitioning from stages in life, the wanting to go back to the days of purity is an inevitable feeling. In The Catcher in the Rye, J.D. Salinger uses motifs, symbols, and extended metaphors to convey the theme that innocence can not be prevented. Saliger uses motifs which allows the reader to understand vulnerability from being shown into the adult world through the use of the hunting hat and estrangement from his surroundings by the migration of the ducks.... In the museum Holden admires, in that museum was that everything always stayed right where it was. Nobody d move (Salinger 134). He stares longingly at the class cases and wishes he could have put himself in that case along with the child he feels he needs to protect. This enclosure represents closure and stability for him. As Holden wrestles with with wanting Phoebe to stay innocent forever, the carousel started, and I watched her go round and round. All the kids tried to grap for the gold ring, and so was old Phoebe, and I was sort of afraid she d fall off the goddam horse, but I didn t say or do anything. The thing with kids is, if they want to grab for the gold ring, you have to let them do it, and not say anything. If they fall off, they fall off, but it is bad to say anything to them (Salinger 208). Holden shows improvement in maturity and in impulse control when he makes the deliberate decision to let her go by herself. He usually does what he want to do. He rarely thinks before doing anything, but he realizes that she is growing up and he can not stop her from seeing and feeling the corruption of the world. Throughout The Catcher in the Rye extended metaphors are used to express the importance of the overall message. Holden feels as though he must preotct the kids from the corruptions he sees everyday: I
  • 42. Essay about Oscar Wilde s An Ideal Husband Oscar Wilde s An Ideal Husband Oscar Wilde (1845 1903) lived an outrageous and controversial life which was well publicized and condemned, as his life defied the strict social mores of the time. He was put into this public position due to the success of his plays which challenged Victorian earnestness while being hilariously funny. His plays, in particular An Ideal Husband, 1895 portray Victorian society as viciously hypocritical at it s worst and laughably pretentious at it s best. Wilde expressed this point of view in An Ideal Husband through the rich use of plot development, construction of characters, dramatic irony, hyperbole, witty and epigrammatic repartee and satire. The central plot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The audience assumes that people in the real world as lucky and benevolent as this are so becuase they worked hard and are earnest. By creating a character like this who took the easy money and built a marriage and friendships around lies, wilde has challenged the earnestness of the many victorian people because there were many poeple in a social position like robert s who may have done a similar thing to get there. In An Ideal Husband Wilde presents a view (the least flattering view presented in the play)that victorian society is viciously hypocritical. This is acheived through the characterisation of Lady Gertrude chiltern, as her ridiculously high morals (an important factor of earnestness) almost cost her her marriage. she demanded to be told if robert had done some shameful thing, in which case they would separate. This irony shows the hypocrisy of being too earnest. Morality is an important factor of earnestness which is mocked in An Ideal Husband by the dialogue of the play, especially the characterised dialogue of Mrs. Chevely. Through her dialogue Morality is simply the attitude we adopt towards people whom we personally dislike. , wilde, through Mrs.

Harris Veda Harris History 18 August 2015 How to survive the war through the eyes of a solider During the Vietnam War, soldiers were not given the opportunity to the modern coping mechanisms of our American culture today, such as illustrated in Tim O Brien s The Things They Carried. These men were required to learn and develop new ways to cope with the problems of war, using only the resources they took with them, while in the Vietnamese jungle. It was not likely for any soldier to carry many items or loads with them, but if something was an essential, a way was found to take it with them, and coping mechanisms were a necessity to survive in this war. American society today has a lot more options to help them cope with the stress of life like anti depressants or psychiatrists. They have the money and resources to pay for the medicine and the treatments that are so called promised to give them a better life. GATTACA and the Holocaust have a common theme of discrimination of people based on their genes. Although the Holocaust was focused more on making Germany pure again by banning anyone who did not the desired Arian features, GATTACA goes deeper into the genetic make up of someone. GATTACA does not persecute the invalids, but does not give them the equal opportunities. b)There are similarities between the Jewish Resistance, and Vincent s pursuit of space exploration. Both were organized to rise against the discriminatory policies. In GATTACA, resistance was shown through Vincent going to space; he was aided by Jerome Morrow who offered Vincent his own identity so the system would not catch Vincent as an invalid. The Act or law of 2008 would amend the Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) program established under the Supplemental Appropriations Act (SAA) of 2008, which provided several additional weeks of extended benefits for those who have exhausted their unemployment insurance benefits (Whittaker, 2008). Another solution was the campaigning proposal, where protectors of human rights helped increase public awareness of exactly what is going on and to what extent women are exploited. the article was completely pro the abolishment of trafficking and prostitution practices and there were no arguments or debates in defense of the practices taking place in society. There are a number of measures that should be undertaken by society for the improvement of the existing situation before it gets any worse, making it harder to fix later on, which would lead to a degraded corrupted society in the possible near future. as the article mentioned, churches should be a big part in the process of helping the exploited woman with the trauma their jobs brought to them. Also, the public should be made clearly aware of the situation, and all the details included in the issue of prostitution and how traffickers force it upon their employees. Also, more patrollers should be made available to try and control the situation by arresting traffickers, which may also scare off other traffickers involved in similar situations. These among many other solutions deal with the short term perspective of these issues, but more extreme issues should be taken into deep consideration for the general prevalence of such isuues to be significantly reduced in the Cypriot society. But these major global problems are unfixable due to the mere
  • 48. US National Debt The US National debt approaches 20 trillion dollars, and no large measures are in place to slow its increase. Addressing the debt problem will require the American people to sacrifice either their money, or the promises that the government gave to them. The American people and their government must be responsible and address the debt problem now, before it becomes unmanageable in the future. The history of the egregiously high national debt is fairly recent. During Bill Clinton s presidency, Congress was on a pay as you go system, meaning that Congress had to plan for how they were going to pay for every action that they took. The United States had a budget surplus, meaning that it had collected more taxes than it had spent. There are several ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most politicians understand the problems of the ever increasing debt, but actually solving it takes a lot of sacrifice. It would be nice if fiscal education could help solve this problem. Americans always ask Congress for more while paying less. With repealing the Affordable Care Act, for example, the people who are in favor of replacing it ask for more coverage at a lower cost. This more for less attitude causes the Medicare problem where people pull out four times more money than they put into the system. As the Frontline program said, this is unsustainable. If people were aware of the problems that they create with their wants from the government, they might be able to concede giving some of these things up. However, this might not work. Many people find it hard to give up their own benefit for future people. Because of this, it will also require Congress to favor balancing the budget over their popularity. The pay as you go program seemed to work well in the 1990s, and I think implementing it again will allow Congress to be more responsible with their money. Also, some Congressmen should step up and create bills to fix the Medicare and Social Security problems that loom in the future, either by raising taxes or by shrinking coverage. Both measures would be highly unpopular, but it would be responsible to tackle the problem now, rather than push it off for future people to deal
