Temporary Appropriation Paper
Since the 60s a vast literature (Jacobs, 1961; Harvey, 1973; Mitchell, 2003; Sennett, 2006) has
discussed the physical attributes of built environment for the purpose of creating lively and
inclusive public spaces through the temporary appropriation. Cities are in a constant process of
transformation and the way in which they are designed and re designed might affect the rationale
use of public spaces and its temporary appropriation. The temporary appropriation is defined here
as the act in which people use public spaces to carry out individual or collective activities other
than the purpose that the space was originally designed for (Fonseca Rodriguez, 2015a). Table 1
summarises the relevant literature in the field. One of the main focuses

Compliance Management Scenario
Sue is the manager of a five physician practice affiliated with a large healthcare system. She
oversees a dozen nurses, front office staff, a two person HIIM department, and several technicians.
As a mid level manager, she reports to administration of the healthcare system.
One morning Sue was stopped abruptly in the hallway by one of her nurses. The nurse had received
an irate telephone message from a patient s daughter in law and was passing the information on to
Sue for her to follow up on the call. That s your job to handle, the nurse blurted out, while
accompanying a patient into a room.
Soon after, Sue phoned the daughter in law to ask how she could be of service. The daughter in law,

Mrs. Stevens reported that although the family was very upset by the call, they were glad to know
the truth about his condition. Her husband, however, was angered by the call because he felt
blindsided and unprepared for the information.
Sue calmly stated that Mrs. Stevens needed to speak directly with her father in law about any
information related to his medical condition. She promised she would investigate the incident and
would call her back with any further information as to how this could have happened. Sue
apologized repeatedly, and the call ended amicably.
Sue went up to the busy front desk where phones were ringing and patients were waiting to
schedule appointments. She knew it was not a good time to speak with the front desk staff. She
decided to check the patient management system to see who had been making the reminder
phone calls the day before. She saw that it was Denise and went back up to the front, leaving a
note on Denise s desk that requested she come see her in her office when the front desk cleared.
Sue then opened the patient s medical record through the electronic record system to gather more
information on Mr. Stevens. She saw that he had just begun treatment for prostate cancer and saw
nothing in the physician dictation indicating that Mr. Stevens was keeping his medical condition
confidential from his family. She also noticed as she was scrolling through the last name Stevens

first one took place in Sweden in 1996, the second one was in Japan in 2001 and the third one
was in Brazil in 2008. ECPAT took a leading role in these congresses with the aid of many
International organizations such as WHO, ILO, UNICEF and many NGO groups that are willing
to help to end worldwide child prostitution. ( Ecpatinternational.org, 2015 ). These acts was very
helpful to end child prostitution, but it is also needed to conduct campaigns in social media
because it is fact that a global response from millions can be incentive to accomplish a goal. One

These pedophile advocacy groups deny their acts to be defined as sickness. Instead, they claim
that their actions are caused because of the inherent nature of human which is nonsense because
there is not any logical thought that supports their action. Sadly, these organizations play an
important role to make child sex tourism organized because they promote pedophiles behavior
and find child sex tourism places for these abusers. Matar argues that few NGOs such as Fight
Against Child Explotation and ECPAT maintain an anti pedophile movement to permanently stop
them. (p. 169). In addition to this, a tight passport control mechanism is needed to prevent these
children predators. Hall argues that %25 of the arrested pedophiles are Americans, %16 of them
are Germans, %13 of them are British and %13 of them are Australian. Therefore it is necessary
for these NGOs to maintain anti pedophile activism worldwide. As these NGOs acknowledge
governments about this concerning issue, governments can cancel passports when they doubt that
the one s purpose is sexually abusing children. (p. 159 161). Overall, child sex tourism still exists
today in Thailand and many other regions. There are certain actions can be made by both some
international organizations and NGOs to end child prostitution. Legal prosecutions should be more

Family System Theory Essay
Family System theory and the Jamie case study
Family systems theory represents the aspects of a particular family member. Jamie is a teenager;
he lives with his family who resembles many of the functions that a family needs to be safe and
happy. Jamie has been intrigued by the new reveal of drugs in his environment. At home Jamie
shows no evidence of abuse, but he can feel isolated and scared. In the Family Systems theory, they
look at the specific Macro view points, and what could have been the reason for what was a tragic
ending in this situation. Family System Theory looks at who Jamie was interacting with, what
impact it has on other family members and the different rules that were set in place by the parents.
The Family system theory looks at the Interaction that Jamie could have been apart in. When
Jamie was feeling isolated and felt like there were no rules set by his parents. Jamie could have

marijuana. When Jamie felt like he belonged and felt protection by his friends, he distanced himself

Compare And Contrast Southwest Airlines And United Airlines
Southwest Airlines vs. United Airlines: Mission Statement Analysis
There exist different leadership styles and cultures that appear in organizations. There are
companies that thrive on servant leadership models and creating a positive environment for growth.
Other organizations focus on putting the customer first. In this essay, an analysis will take place on
airline companies Southwest Airlines and United Airlines including what they stand for, who they
are, and what they do on a consistent basis. Ultimately, the similarities and differences of Southwest
and United will be compared and contrasted to understand whether these organizations practice
servant leadership or another leadership model.
Compare and Contrast
Mission statements greatly impact an organization s culture. They set the morals and values
companies have for their employees and workplace. The mission statement is a summary of all the
ideals a company has. At Southwest, The mission of Southwest Airlines is dedication to the highest
quality of customer service delivered with a sense of warmth, friendliness, individual pride and

Pathos, Pros, And Cons And Uses Of The Hyundai Commercials
One product most people use in their everyday lives are vehicles. I have chosen two
commercials, one advertising the Honda Ridgeline and the other marketing the Hyundai Elantra.
In the Honda commercial, a farmer tends to his sheep, that start singing as soon as the farmer
drives away. The Hyundai commercial is very comical, showing a town where everyone is Ryan
Reynolds to catch your attention. These commercials use pathos, ethos, and logos to sell their
product. Advertisements use many forms of persuasion to get people to buy their product. One of
these is pathos, which appeals to the emotions of the audience and evokes their feelings. In the
Honda commercial, one can see sheep in the pasture singing to Somebody to Love after the farmer
drives off in his new Honda Ridgeline. This is very humorous, considering sheep do not speak, let
alone belt out notes from Queen. Not only are there singing sheep, but there is a talking dog
towards the end of the commercial which tells those who are watching about the Honda Ridgeline
( Honda Ridgeline Super Bowl Commercial internet). This is similar to the Hyundai commercial,
which is also very amusing. The audience can see two women driving through a neighborhood,
where every person is Ryan Reynolds. This shows pathos, because it appeals to the viewers
emotions by laughing at the comical commercial ( Ryanville Hyundai Super Bowl internet).
Another form of persuasion commercials use is ethos, which appeals to one s ethics. In the

Cult Classic Essay
What makes a film a cult classic? What makes a bunch of films belong to the same cult classic? I
found myself asking the same question a couple of days ago, only to to get bombarded by my own
memory of three distinct movies, which just happened to have the same composer: Requiem For A
Dream, Moon and The Fountain. Coincidence? I think not.
These three films are as psychologically triggering as they re visually stunning. But the most
important aspect here is the accompanied music. The three main scores which were written by the
same person for three different movies that just happen to end up being huge cult classics.
First, let s talk about Requiem For a Dream: The whole story is about how addiction is more than
just self medicating. Addiction, as a concept in the movie (and in reality) can be linked to virtually
any substance or activity human beings consume, the movie shows that in the most beautifully ...

As a movie, it is really hard to come to good terms with it, as one critic said Its supporters admire
the film s beauty and daring; its detractors find it overblown and hokey . The film is, more or
less, an audiovisual version of Möbius strip, or if I may say, the poorer but still rich prequel of
Cloud Atlas. Whatever one might think about it, the score itself is Clint Mansell s best work, it
moves right along the film across time and space to be a multi layered piece of astonishing
creativity. The Last Man is the main score, with its string exclusive passive theme, the piece
ascends us as the main character ascends through the fabric of reality. Death is The Road to Awe,
on the other hand, is not as gloomy as one might guess from its title. It s been used in the crucial
moment of when the character discoverers his inability to do anything about...well, anything!
Somehow, the piece makes that scene a bit more emotionally tolerable as it gives it the integrity of
being not sad, but sadly

An Introduction to the Game of Golf
Michael May
Golf: An Introduction to the Game with an Emphasis on the Last Twenty Five Years
Abstract
The game of golf has changed ever since its creation in the 1400 s. Yet of all the changes in the
game most of them have come within the last 25 years. Golf has developed and changed so
much in the last 25 years that players and spectators alike can barely keep up with this new style
of play. Research demonstrates some of the basic elements of the game, as well as most of the
developmental changes the game has gone through in the last 25 years. Jeff Mashos, a former
P.G.A. professional, gives his insight on the game and the changes he has seen in recent years. For

First the golfer might produce a swing that is considered an open to open swing path. This occurs
when the club face starts out to the right of the target line and never leaves that position. The other
swing the player could produce is a square to open swing path. This is when the club face lines up
with the target line at the beginning of the swing and then finishes open of the target.
On the other hand Aultman describes that when a player hits the ball to the left, his swing path
could either be a closed to closed path. Which occurs when the club face has a left facing angle
of the target line and never leaves that point. The other swing a player could produce is square
to closed path. Just like the square to open path the club face starts on the correct plane, but it
closes on impact with the golf ball (Aultman 27). Both of these problems can be fixed by finding
the right kind of swing, as Rick Smith puts it in his book How to Find Your Perfect Golf Swing.
Smith, a tour professional, gives seven aspects that make up the golf swing. First, he describes the
Human Instinct, what naturally comes to the players minds when they step up to hit the ball.
Second, The Physical Condition, or a golfers ability to swing the club along the correct plane, from
the beginning to the completion of their round. Third, he presents the concept of Misperception.

Earthquake Experience Essay
My experience with massive earthquake.
3 years ago, I had experience of massive and repeated aftershock and tremor. It was Saturday in the
morning, it was official holiday of our nation. I and my family were living at the heart of
Kathmandu, a city full of historical monuments. It was unforgettable days for me. It was black day
of the nation. It was worst natural catastrophes that I ever encounter. The lesson that earthquake
gave me was to live life satisfyingly and prepare for what s coming.
During the period of incident, I was living in down floor apartment of four stored building with my
mother and sister. The house was recently built. The surrounding houses were old which were
built in primitive way. In Saturday, it was good sunny day and holiday we were having launch
with my mother and sister. My father was living in abroad. We all had plan for the holiday, I was
planning to meet my friend, my sister was having her board exam and shoe was more into study.
But before we move out of home, disastrous earthquake occurred.
At 10:56 am, we all family were together having launch. Suddenly, the earth shook and all the
utensil started moving and the wall swayed violently. The intense shake causes lose my balance
and my mother shouted to me and my sister to hide with her inside the table. Seconds later, I heard
could hear the sound of the ground, the house falling down, the screaming of people. Even after
minutes it earthquake started swaying and shaking like it has been intensely intoxicated. There was
no way to get out of house, as gate used to be locked as usual during turbulence.
After the earthquake, we moved outside the ground, many aged houses had turned into dust and
rubble hovering around the whole city. People alive inside the destroyed building were crying
for help and assistance. Seeing all the body covered with stone and brick made me cry as if I
was having a worst nightmare. The adrenaline rush began when I saw the people whom I used to
talk were buried inside the bricks and all I could see was their hands, legs. It was impossible to get
the body out from the ripped foundation.
When I took a glance at the surrounding, people were scrambled like a colony of ants, looking for

The Role Of Popular News Media On An Electoral Environment

Information flow is a crucial component of any electoral process. The modern leadership
dynamics, which embraces democracy, rests on the electoral processes as the tools for gaining
power. It, therefore, means that an environment where the information flow is free, efficient and
seamless experiences balanced power distribution. In other circumstances, some people could, by
design or default, have the upper hand in the access to information. This means that these
individuals have greater balance of power to exercise it over others who may not be privileged
enough to access it (Bates). This is the context that explains the role of information agents or media

the United States. The opinion polls would then show an adverse effect of the information on
Clinton s prospects.
Moreover, the information on the handling of mails by Ms. Clinton while serving at the State

director of FBI released information to the effect that the agency would re open the investigation

narrative by her rivals that she was culpable being a criminal who should have not been allowed

their campaign gatherings as a rallying call against her (Diamond). It is widely held that this

The glandular fever also known as the kissing disease is a type of viral infection that mostly
affects young adults. The common symptoms that may be found are a high fever, sore throat,
swollen glands and fatigue (extreme tiredness). This infection is caused by the EBV and is found
in the saliva of an infected person. It can spread by kissing, exposure to coughs and sneezes and
sharing eating and drinking such as cups, glasses and other liquid holders. The Elisa technique uses

Weather Briefing Research Paper
Obtaining a weather briefing for flight planning aircraft performance is one of the most important
duties of a professional pilot. I began my flying career in 2004, many years before the
information technology we have today. Obtaining a weather briefing before a flight would take

the required information could be quite exhausting. Today, weather briefings, desire route of

The Role of P2X Receptors in Nociception
Introduction
Nociception is the sensation of pain which is normally a warning signal to brain in respond to a
potential hazard. Generally noxious stimulations are detected by specialised high threshold sensory
neurons, which are refer to nociceptors. The signals are then transferred to an electrical potential
and conducted to the brain via spinal cord. However sometimes abnormal nociception can lead to a
moderate to severe pain although a noxious stimulus is missing. This kind of pain are usually
trigger by nerve injury, while the pain sensation remains after the tissue had been healed.
Although the prevalence of neuropathic pain is not significant, about 7% to 8% of the European
population is affected, and about 5% are suffering severe pain (Torrance et al., 2006; Bouhassira
et al., 2008). Normally the neuropathic pain is induced by injury of somatosensory nerves, and
the pain remains after the tissue being healed. It can bring abnormal nociception while noxious
stimuli are missing, which called dysesthesia. Beside, pain can be triggered by non painful
stimuli, which is called allodynia). Many research has linked the neuropathic pain to neuronal
damages where endogenous ATP being released. Therefore purinergic receptors that can respond
to ATP are involved. In this essay, after a brief introduction of P2X receptors, the role of
microglial P2X4 and P2X7 in neuropathic pain will be discussed.
Purinergic receptor can be divided into two families based on their different

Cultural Significance Of Teen Films
Teen films are the definitive genre that captures the adolescent zeitgeist during the 1980s, and its
popularity still hold cultural relevance in the present day. The teen films produced during the 1980s
effectively represent youth concerns and the coming of age narrative, in terms of adolescent
identity, the different roles characters play, sexuality, gender, relationships, class issues and the
generational divide. Exploring these issues is essential for recognizing the cultural significance of
this specific group of films and how they are important in addressing concerns of the adolescent
coming of age narrative. The Breakfast Club by John Hughes is an exploration and reflection of the

Sex and relationships are recurring themes throughout the genre and are essential elements teen
narrative. Their portrayal ranges from comic interactions to serious exchanges and emotional
liberation from restrictive forces. Timothy Shary explains the significance of these two thematic
threads: Romantic longing and sexual curiosity take on heightened intensity and profundity for
youth in the adolescent years struggle to recognise and cope with the emotional and psychological
changes (2002). The character s experience with sex are usually comedic and linked to sexual
discovery and loss of virginity, which are continually present topics in the narrative. It is is often a
determinant that shapes teen identity, as well as providing a commentary on societal questions
regarding a desire of intimacy. The sexual exploits between the teen male and female investigates
teen behavior and the conceptualization of feelings and emotions in their discovery of identity.
Another convention which surfaces again and again during the 1980s teen genre is the generational
divide that exists in the familial structure, resulting in teens rebelling against adult authority. Within
the genre adults are often portrayed in a negative light in both comical and serious ways: teachers
are depicted as corrupt and arrogant as incompetent social figures. Parents are often unseen, distant,
emotionally detached, cold, violent and abusive. The setting and

These pieces were then nail together and a template was used to create the curved lines for the
timber tray and it showed how the pacific maple would end up like. The two piece of woods
were then trimmed with a jigsaw and further trimmed with the band saw. The pacific maples
were then sanded to remove the marks created from the band saw. After that, two shorter pieces
were chosen and the same steps were applied. The two pieces were nailed and using a template
the handles of the timber tray were drawn. The drill press was then used to drill holes into the
two pieces and then the handles were made from using a jigsaw. The jigsaw sawed off the wood
in marked area from the template. The pair of handles were sanded to take of any sharp edges
and to make the handle smooth. Both pairs of wood were taken apart so there would be four
pieces of wood, two long and two short. Then the finger joint were made using the finger
jointing machine (trimmer router) were when cutting the joint for the shorter pieces, the end of
the longer piece was put up against the shorter piece and then that was drilled to create the finger
joints. Once this process was done, the four pieces were joined up to create the timber frame.
This frame was then glued together using PVA glue. A plywood base was then picked and the
frame was marked on the plywood using a pencil. The base and the frame were put together with
a thin layer of PVA glue and then reinforced with twelve millimeter nails. The base had four nails
along the length and three nails on the width. Nails weren t nailed in the corners because it could
nail into the joint, which would separate the joint and create a gap in the joint. Once the glue had

by the linisher. After that, linseed oil was applied to the timber tray. Once the oiling process was

Family Vacation Essay
Spending quality time with family is one of my favorite childhood memories, whether it was
spending time outdoors, playing ping pong, or watching a movie. My most meaningful family
memory came from our vacation to Colorado back in 2004; yes, 2004. Although I don t
remember all of the events that transpired, I m able to recall most of the memorable events that
took place. It was a cool, misty morning in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, and I could
distinctly hear the unmistakable elk calls that echoed through the mountains. The breeze gently
scraped my face as I got into the car to begin the first day of our family vacation in Colorado. I
could hear the car tires gently humming on the road during this cool, foggy, Colorado morning.
As I looked past the lanky pine trees, glistening drops of dew formed on the tall grass, dancing
with the wind. As we moved further down the road, I could see the tip of the sun barely begin to
peek over the steep, snowy mountain peaks; however, the sun was soon covered by the misty
Colorado clouds. This was it: our family vacation!
Ever since the beginning of summer, I was looking forward to one activity in particular on this
vacation: our white water rafting trip. I could just imagine the cool water of the river, and the wind
swiftly rubbing my tiny little face. The trees dancing in the wind, while the birds sing me a gentle
song while I aimlessly float down the river. This adventurous trip was quickly approaching us, as it
was only a day away. I

Effects Of Depression On High Income Countries
Depression, in general, affects more than 340 million people around the world and is reported to
be the highest cause of disability in high income countries (Demissie). 15% to 85% of mothers
can experience postpartum blues with postpartum depression rates between 11.7% and 20.4% in
the United States alone (Ersek). This depression can occur at anytime from post delivery up to one
year (Ersek). Giving birth comes with a wide variety of changes including physical, emotion and
social. There are very high levels of sex hormones in circulation which cause increased ligament,
joint and muscle laxity (Norman). Many women lose their social contacts due to upcoming life
changes, must take time off work, and must stop previous hobbies (Norman). Relationship factors,
hormone changes, sleep deprivation and support deeply effect a woman s self esteem and
confidence during and after pregnancy (Norman). [Daley et al.] states that symptoms of postpartum
depressioninclude decreased mood, fatigue, anxiety, thoughts of self harm and poor mother infant
interactions(change wording). Women with post partum depression have been reported to be at an
increased risk for substance abuse, are more likely to miss gynecological and child health

No there was is not and if so very little as the only force acting on the glider is tension force
pulling on it and that is coming from the force of gravity on the mass on the hanger and the
hanger itself. A small difference can be obtained if the pressure is not enough resulting in a
small amount of friction. In table 4 we consider the kinetic energy and work done on the glider
because the glider has a force applied to it which causes it to move resulting in kinetic energy
and work being done on the glider. Other than run #4 the % differences for kinetic energy
change and work done are reasonable. The error may have come from using 3 different formulas
to calculate the work done as the %differences continued to change each time we used a formula.
Yes, we have reached the lab purpose as we successfully as we used AirTrack to verify Newton s

conservation when a conservation force does work on an object within a system. I learned that

MLK Jr. The earth is round, not flat. Almost everyone knows that this is a true statement and

also all readers. MLK Jr. forcefully undermines the clergymen s criticism by quoting
unquestionably correct sources and also by using the clergymen s own words against them. The
Bible, Socrates, and Martin Luther are just a few of the sources quoted in his letter, which
subvert any criticism of his actions. The Bible is the most potent of his sources because the
clergymen are men of the church and cannot deny the Bible of its truths. Socrates and Martin
Luther are both very wise and pious men that people believe. Only a fool would argue against the

Want successfully differentiates itself from its competitors through features such as taste, design,
and packaging. Want s relationship with its bottle manufacturer is an intangible benefit. They
provide Want with the opportunity to produce low volume quantities, given their current cash flow
situation, and allow flexible scheduling resulting in shorter lead time. Want has built a socially
responsible image by its charitable donations to action sports in local communities; an activity that

Pacifism In Slaughterhouse-Five
Kurt Vonnegut grew up in Indianapolis, during the great depression, writing for his high school
newspaper. In 1943, he enlisted into the United States Air Force and was captured by the Germans
during World War II. Vonnegut was one of the survivors in the firebombing od Dresden, Germany,
in which an estimated 22,000 people were killed. When Vonnegut returned, he started publishing
short stories in the 1950s, which were mostly about technology and the future. This is why most
critics classified Kurt Vonnegutas a science fictionwriter, even though he didn t like that label. The

Technology’s Detrimental Effect on Society Essay
These days, technology seems to be almost everywhere we go. With advancements to cell phones,
computers, video games, cars, and our iPods, our lives have become much easier than ever before.
Technology is made because the society always wants to find more efficient methods of doing
certain tasks. Without technology, mankind would not have discovered things that the majority of
us now know, such as the world, animals, science, and the like. However, the society doesn t gain
much benefit, besides their school and work duties. Technology has become a necessity for us as a

Communications nowadays are becoming much more indirect, which means we are having less

skills are one of the essential skills that are needed to succeed in real life. According to an article
by Natalie Angier, having good social skills will generally improve happiness, relationships, and
your careers (Angier). Technology is being a detriment to society by making us less social.
The different methods of communication cause our society to adapt to the incorrect
environment, which will eventually cause us to be dumber. Not only is technology making us
lazy and less motivated, but it s also lowering our IQs. According to TNS research, studies have
shown that the IQ of the average person living in the United States is lowering because of
technology. Technology distractions are everywhere. Even Isla Campbell, who is a researcher of

How Does Enzyme Concentration Or Temperature Affect The...
Question: How does changing enzyme concentration or temperature affect the reaction time of
enzyme activity? Background and Introduction: Enzymes are proteins that process substrates,
which is the chemical molecule that enzymes work on to make products. Enzyme purpose is to
increase the rate of activity and speed up chemical reaction in a form of biological catalysts. The
enzymes specialize in lowering the activation energy to start the process. Enzymes are very
specific in their process, each substrate is designed to fit with a specific substrate and the enzyme
and substrate link at the active site. The binding of a substrate to the active site of an enzyme is a
very specific interaction. Active sites are clefts or grooves on the surface of an enzyme, usually
composed of amino acids from different parts of the polypeptide chain that are brought together in
the tertiary structure of the folded protein. Substrates initially bind to the active site by noncovalent
interactions, including hydrogen bonds, ionic bonds, and hydrophobic interactions. Once a
substrate is bound to the active site of an enzyme, multiple mechanisms can accelerate its
conversion to the product of the reaction. But sometimes, these enzymes fail or succeed to increase
the rate of action because of various factors that limit the action. These factors can be known as
temperature, acidity levels (pH), enzyme and/or substrate concentration, etc. In this experiment, it
will be tested how much of an effect

Domestic Realism in Tennessee Williams Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
Throughout the play of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof various members of the family are at loggerheads.
However, this comes to a climax in this passage as Big Daddy s imminent death is confirmed
and the question of the heir to the estate becomes an important issue. The Oxford Companion to
American Literature describes the play as depicting bitter, abnormal family tensions . These
family tensions are clearly seen in this passage. Big Daddy is dying and the only characters who
appear to be more concerned about his death than the estate are Big Mama and Maggie, Precious

Gooper also undermines Maggie s offering of support to Big Mama with nasty cynicism, How

within the family are really emphasised by this competition. Mae and Gooper also attempt to
demean Brick at every opportunity, advertising his defects, Brick kept living in his past glory at

Asphalt is a relatively durable product, which is why it is commonly used on roadways and
driveways. However, without proper maintenance it can give way to cracks or holes.
Fortunately, it is fairly easy to fix these issues as long as you address them quickly. So if you are
interested in fixing a crack or hole in your asphalt, use these three tips to ensure you get good
results: 1. Clean Well Before you do anything, make sure you thoroughly clean the asphalt. Any
loose bits of dirt and debris could ruin your asphalt patch, so clean it very well. Use a broom and
sweep the entire area of the crack of hole. Be sure to sweep the surrounding area as well.
Additionally, you might want to hose down the area to ensure it is clean and free of dirt

Persuasive Essay On Overpopulation
There are many issues today that pose a threat to our way of life. Overpopulation is a serious
problem that will eventually have an extremely negative effect on our countries, and our planet.
The problems that arise due to overpopulation could even prove to a fatal epidemic that will
eventually wipeout the entire human race. Oftentimes this issue is overlooked due to lack of
knowledge and understanding of the subject; or, simply because most of us are so blessed that we
are not affected first hand by the problems it is causing this very second. Overpopulation, in my
belief, is an enormously serious global issue that should be identified, analyzed, and controlled
immediately. The term overpopulation literally means that the number of things (in this case:
humans) that depend on resources for survival is significantly larger than the amount of resources
available to them. Today our planet is experiencing the effects of multiplying citizens because of
the obstacles the environment is being forced to take on. Many believe that Earth is presently
occupied by too many people. Year after year the populationmultiplies faster and faster. Presently,
there are about 7 billion people occupying this planet, and by the middle of the approaching
century the U.N. predicts that the count will reach 9.4 billion. Both developed and developing
countries are at risk of the dangerous problems that overpopulation can and will create. This relates

Process Of Dividing Body Cells And Their Nuclei Essay
Yahya Bello
Homework 1
Mitosis: can be defined as the process of dividing body cells and their nuclei. The body continually
produced new cells by splitting from the ones that has already existed.
Meiosis: can be defined as a particular form of cell splitting that generates reproductive cells, such
as sperm and egg cells, plant and fungal spores.
Steps involves in Mitosis
Mitosis consists of four basic phases and they include prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and
telophase.
Figure 1 shows the process that occurs in mitosis
During the early phase of prophase, the cells are able to be divided into some structures and also
build others up, this leads into setting the stage for their division of the chromosomes that is
present. For the chromosomes to be easily pulled apart later on they start o condense during this
early stage. The mitotic spindle then begins to form. This spindle is a structure that is made of
microtubules, strong fibers that are considered to be the part of the cell s skeleton. The purpose of
the spindle is to organize the chromosomes and to have the ability in moving them around during
mitosis. The growth of the spindle occurs between the centrosomes as they move apart (https:/
/www.khanacademy.org/science/biology/cellular molecular biology/mitosis/a/phases of mitosis).
.
Once the early prophase has been completed then late prophase which can also be referred to as
prometaphase takes off. During the late prophase, mitotic spindle starts by

The System Of The Human Body
Introduction
The integumentary system is one of the largest and most integral organs in the human body,
encompassing many structures and playing key roles in the protection and general function of the
body (Zimmermann, 2014). As with everything however; things can go wrong, failures can occur
causing the system to function at a level below what is required of it. It is at this point where we
must be active in our response to these faults and subsequently utilise knowledge and techniques in
order to contain these failures and sustain human life.
Structure
Encompassing structures like; hair, nails, nerves and glands, the integumentary system is evidently
a hugely important and crucial organ within the human body (Science Net Links, 2015). Despite
containing all of these structures however, the main component of the integumentary system is the
skin. Consisting of three layers; epidermis, dermis and hypodermis, the skin plays key functional
roles in the control of temperature within the body, production of essential vitamins, housing of
sensory receptors, secretion of waste products and protection of the body (Kerr, 2010).
The epidermis is the most superficial layer of the skin, composed of keratinized stratified
squamous epithelium, providing a waterproofed protective layer over the epidermis (Moore,
Dalley, Agur 2010). The epidermis itself separates into several layers (Figure 1) at thicker areas of
skin, for example palms of hands (Carola, Harley, Noback, 1992).

Analysis Of The Poem Taps Upon The Grass
Taps upon the grass. We moved to Prairie Grove, May of 2007 from Fort Smith, Arkansas. It was
a beautiful day and even though the drive with a newborn and a traitor full of our belongings
was intense. The scenery was absolutely memorizing, little did we know or realize how many
wonderful things there were about this little town to explore. We had lived in Prairie Grove for
a few years before we started attending local events. It was a Friday afternoon and I was heading
to the school to pick up my oldest son Elliott from band practice and I noticed a lot of people
setting up tents and walking around in old settler clothes. Men in blue and gray suits, some
were riding horses. Women in petticoats and big bulky dresses. All walking around the
Battlefield Park like this was something normal that went on everyday. I m thinking, Ok, this
town is kind of weird. Soon I started to learn the history of the town we moved to, and all the
intricate details surrounding the town of Prairie Grove. Come to find out, Part of the Civil War
battle was fought on the Prairie Grove Battlefield on December 7, 1862. The Confederate Army
under Major General Thomas C Hindman engaged the Union Divisions of Brigadier General
Francis J. Herron and James G. Blunt near Prairie Grove Church. They were suppose to attack
Blunt on Cane Hill but this plan was foiled by the untimely arrival of two union divisions. The

Power And Control In The Visit By Frank Durrenmatt
Well known writer, Friedrich Durrenmatt, in his drama, The Visit, conveys the idea in which
Claire Zachanassian embodies aggregate power and control, and she uses those features to
dehumanize the people of Gullen throughout the play. Durrenmatt s purpose is to illustrate that
money can buy power, and power is what leads to all disorder and chaos. He adopts a striking and
staggering tone in order to express how humanity is so easily purchased by mere paper. Claire
Zachanassian symbolizes power by frightening and intimidating the people of Gullen into doing her

Why Is Scientology Unethical
Scientology is a form of religious beliefs and practices created in 1954 by Ron Hubbard. It was
designed as a program called Dianetics. The organization quickly entered bankruptcy and Hubbard

Henry Turner Movie Essay
Sigmund Freud was the first psychologist to suggest that everyone has a large unconscious. He
also identified three parts of the personality: the id, ego, and superego. Freud said that the id
operates on pleasure principle , the ego operates on reality principle , and the superego operates
on moral principle . A great showcase of the different parts of the personality can be found
within the movie Regarding Henry. In this movie Henry Turner falls victim to an armed man in
his local convenience store. After the accident Henry s personality, and life in general,
undergoes a drastic change. In my opinion, Henry s natural state is his id. In this movie, Henry
Turner appears to be largely controlled by his id. One of the first big examples of this is when
he leaves the house late at night by himself to go purchase cigarettes. Henry goes out at a
dangerous hour because he feels the need for a cigarette and this is what results in him being
shot. Another example of him using his id is when he lashes out at his caretaker, Bradley. Henry
loves Bradley but when Bradley tries to tell him that it s time to go back home Henry is overcome
by emotions and lashes out. He screams at Bradley, which is very out of... Show more content on

The id is what causes your impulsive actions, the ego is what makes you step back and rationalize,
and the superego is what controls your morals. Henry Turner spends a large majority of the movie
operating on his superego. It makes him more loving and compassionate, contrary to how he acted
while operating on his id. After the accident, his natural state is definitely his superego. This film
helps to show how easily our personalities can be affected by certain events. It also shows that
people seem to become a much better person when operating on their superego, not their id. It is
much better to be thoughtful and rational than

Jeeps And Mustangs Comparison
What purpose and capabilities should a vehicle you own have? It may depend on where you live
or how far you need to commute for work. It may even depend on how you want people to
perceive you. Some capabilities may include needing to drive through deep snow, or just
needing to get somewhere quickly. A few vehicles I would like to purchase in the future are a
Ford Mustang and a Jeep Wrangler. Depending on where you live either one of these would be a
good source of transportation. Most notably, Jeeps and Mustangs differ in their appearance,
driving capabilities, and handling precision, but because of where I live I would prefer the
Wrangler over the Mustang. Jeeps and Mustangs differ in their appearance. Jeeps are compact
utility vehicles;... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Mustang is very sporty, and has a collection of instantly recognizable visuals such as its long
hood and short rear deck proportions. The Mustang may beat the Wrangler in its sleek design,
but the cramped interior is inferior to the available leg room in the Wrangler. Jeep Wranglers are
known for their wide range of driving capabilities. Anywhere you need or want to go, the
Wrangler will get you there. They are often used as camping and hunting vehicles because of
their amazing ability to not get stuck. It has one of the best 4 Wheel drive systems out there.
Wranglers can get you through the deepest mud and snow with no trouble at all. They are often
converted into rock climbers. Mustangs, however, are known for one thing: going fast and
looking good doing it. Mustangs are great for the city lifestyle. If you want to be perceived as
someone with wheelbarrow of money, this is the car for you. If you want to be perceived as
someone who lives in the fast lane, this is also the vehicle for you. As people that live in Idaho,

car that can get you through anything and this is not that

High Impulsivity And Novelty Seeking Drugs
The article, High Impulsivity Predicts the Switch to Compulsive Cocaine Talking, sought to
determine whether impulsivity and novelty seeking (which are behavioral markers of addictive
drugs) place individuals in the vulnerability of compulsive seeking of the drug. The researchers
used laboratory rats to test the vulnerability. Researchers found that high reactivity to novelty
predicted the likelihood of rats seeking cocaine self administration. However, high impulsivity
seemed to predict the development of addictionlike behavior in the laboratory rats. The results
obtained by researchers has changed the perspective from the impulsivity aspect of drug use
towards the compulsivity factor during the initial stages of addiction development. Interestingly, the
compulsive factor can be generated through neural physiology (i.e. neural mechanisms or
diminished function of cortical function).
In terms of lecture material, as discussed, drugs (such as stimulants) produce a hedonic state in
individuals that leads them to greater drug use. The sensation of false euphoria can be what drives
individuals who actively seek the drug. This can make drug users to impulsively seek drugs. As
stated in the article, their evidence demonstrated that high levels of impulsivity can come before the
onset of compulsive drug use.
As discussed in lecture, although cocaine and caffeine are considered to be both stimulants, their
effects are very different. There is a particular mechanism of biological

The Systems Of Distribution And Distribution
Two systems of distribution will be adopted. The systems of distribution include direct distribution
and indirect distribution system. Indirect distribution system will be characterized by the
employment of third parties in the distribution of the products. Therefore, in indirect distribution
channels, the business will utilize third parties, often referred to as an intermediary, to offer a link
between the manufacturer and consumers. On the other hand, in direct distribution, only two parties
will be involved the manufacturer and the consumer. In the latter system, direct distribution channel
will be organized in such a way that the manufacturer will deliver the products (plantain chips) to
the market directly without assistance of another independent party such as a distribution company
or the intermediary. The decision on whether to employ a direct or indirect distribution channel will
depend on the accessibility and distance from the processing zones.
In particular, the business will utilize indirect distribution channels in areas that are costly in terms
of accessibility, and adopt direct distribution in areas whose accessibility is cost effective. For
instance, the distribution strategies will be distinctive for urban and rural segments in collaboration
with contract partners. It is noteworthy that plantain chips will be distributed directly in the urban
regions and indirectly in rural areas. Additionally, in the situation that the accessibility is adversely

Disadvantages Of Rule Of Law
The King himself ought not to be subject to man, but subject to God and the law, because the
law makes him King : Lord Chief Justice Coke quoting Bracton said in the case of Proclamations
(1610) 77 ER 13521 Rule of law is classical principle of administrative law. As a matter of fact
this principle was one of the principles that acted as restriction for the development of
Administrative Law principles. The irony further is that the rule of law is now an important part
of modern Administrative Law. The concept of Rule of Law is the building block on which the
modern democratic society is founded. Laws are made for the welfare of the people to maintain
harmony between the conflicting forces in society. One of the prime objects of making... Show

The doctrine of rule of law proved to be effective and powerful weapon in keeping administrative
authorities within their limits . It served as a touchstone to test all administrative actions. The
broad principle of rule of law was accepted by almost all legal systems as a constitutional
safeguard. The first principle (Supremacy of law) recognizes a cardinal rule of democracy that
every government must be subject to law and not law subject to the government. It rightly
opposed arbitrary and unfettered discretion to the governmental authorities, which has tendency to
interfere with rights of citizens. The second principle (equality of law) is equally important in a
system linked to democratic polity. It is based on the well known maxim however high you may
be, law is above you and all are equal before the law The third principle puts emphasis on the role
of judiciary in enforcing individual rights and personal freedoms irrespective of their inclusion in a
written constitution. Dicey feared that mere declaration of such rights in any statute would be
ineffective if they could not be enforced. He was right when he said that a statute can be amended
and fundamental rights can be abrogated. We have witnessed such a situation during emergency in
1975 and realized that in absence of strong and powerful judiciary, written constitution is

Actors in the Humanitarian Community
It has always been said that the things that are unlikely to happen does actually happen during an
emergency or in a crisis situation. If one accept that it is by fate a crisis happens and do not have
any precautionary measures, then the crisis management is doomed to fail. This holds true when
dealing with humanitarian aids after a disaster, whether man made or of natural cause. It is then of
utmost importance that all the actors in the humanitarian community knows their roles and get their
acts together harmoniously. Figure 1 shows the link between these different actors and how they
work together (GHA Report, 2011). Who are then these actors within the humanitarian community?
Actors in the Humanitarian Community Government A government s role within the humanitarian
community can be classified into two categories. A country may take the role of a recipient or a
donor (GHA, 2014). A government s response is crucial particularly for a recipient government.
Though it is important for individual citizen have their personal contingency plans, but majority of
the problems that arise from a disaster are beyond the individual s capability to solve. The
government, along with its many branches such as the military and local government must fill in
the void. the government should designate evacuation centers, rebuild destroyed houses and take
care of the basic needs for the affected as soon as possible. The government must also act quickly to

things over the years that were often overlooked. Ehrenreich states in his article, it does strongly
suggest that in the Stone Age family, Dad the hunter was not the only provider. There is a great

The Reasons Why Orcas Should Not Be Held Captivity
Janeth Jackson Ms. Nero English 1113 5 October 2015 How would you feel if you lived your
life in fear daily? What about being taken from your family, just so you can become
entertainment for someone else? It is hard for one to envision such barbaric acts. This is not
something orcas, also known as killer whales, envision but rather a daily fear that one day can
possibly come true. Orcas have been kept in captivity since 1961. There have been numerous
amounts of orcas captured from the wild since than. These innocent and helpless orcas have
been snatched from their families, and forced to live with other orcas who are not part of their
family. By looking at the documentary, Blackfish, one can see the many reasons why orcas
should not be held in captivity. One major reason why orcas should not be held in captivity is
because orcas are a family oriented type species. Orcas are extremely social animals. Orcas are
very close to their family. For example, when SeaWorld orca catchers came to capture orcas in
the year 1977, John Crowe, one of the orca catcher s, said, When we took the baby orcas and left
the adults, the adults huddled in a circle and made noises to the baby orcas that were being taken
away. He also stated, We dropped the net to let the other adult orcas go, but they stayed and
huddled around the boat. When killer whales are in captivity, they are not with their family. They
are involuntary forced to live with other orcas from a different family and are

Cancer Is A Disease Of The Cells
Cancer is a disease of the cells, Inside all cells are coded instructions for making new cells and
controlling how cells behave. These coded instructions are genes. Abnormal changes in genes
can turn normal ovarian cells to cancer cells. Normal cells grow and divided to make new cells.
New cells are made as the body needs them to replace injured or dying cells. When normal cells
grow old or get damaged, they die. Cancercells don t do that. The changes in genes causes cancer
cells to make too many copies of themselves (National comprehensive cancer network,2015).
Cancer cells make new cells that aren t needed and don t die quickly when old or damaged. Most
times cancer cells grow and divide enough to form a mass or tumour. The first tumour formed by
the overgrowth of cancer cell is known as the primary tumour.
Ovarian cancer is the most deadly type of gynecologic malignancy in the United States (Morgan et
al.,2013). While there are multiple histological subtypes of ovarian cancer, epithelial cell types are
the most common variant and therefore contribute greatly to the morbidity and mortality attributed
to ovarian malignancy (Quirk and Natarajan,2005 ). Serous epithelial tumors have the highest
incidence noted to constitute about 70% of tumors of epithelial origin, while other subtypes
comprise the remaining cases, most commonly mucinous, endometrioid, and clear cell (Irving et al.,
2006,McCluggage, 2011). Demo graphically, white women have the highest incidence of

The Issue Of Health Insurance
Currently, the issue of health insurance has been a bone of contention for the public regarding
whether the United States government should provide this health plan or not. People often possess
different perspectives and refer to pros and cons on both sides of the spectrum. While some believes
a universal healthcare system will set a foundation for a lower quality of service, increasing
governmental finance deficit, and higher taxes, others do not hold the same thought. A universal
healthcare system brings enormous advantages rather than disadvantages, such as all inclusive
population coverage, convenient accessibility, low time cost, and affordable medical cost, all of
which not only provide minimum insurance to the disadvantaged but also improve the efficiency of
medical resources distribution. When it comes to the healthcare system, the root of it can be
tracked back to the nineteenth century. At that time, compared to a private company, most of the
service providers were hospitals, which provide a people free charge service and inexpensive
medicine because they were not profit oriented institutions. To some degree, the expenditure of a
household on healthcare at that time is lower than the one of a modern household. Hospitals played
an important role in offering the disadvantaged healthcare resources and fundamental treatment. As
the number of patients increased, they still needed working capital to support their expenditure.
Most sources of money were from

Hurricane Katrina Case Study
1. Did human activity contribute to the severity of the storm, or was it an entirely natural disaster?
Support your answer with evidence and citations. The severity of Hurricane Katrina was impacted
largely by the location of its landfall. The storm was well tracked by the National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The NOAA noted that the high pressure of the storm at
landfall, the strength of the system and shallow waters offshore all were contributing factors to the
severity of the storm. (Graumann, Houston, Lawrimore, Levinson, Lott, McCown, Stephens,
Wuertz: 2005, pg 4). When the storm struck, however, it was found that those who were
financially better off were able to evacuate easier, leaving those in lower income areas to remain
amidst the devastation. Nearly a half million people were excluded from the cities, when FEMA
camps were implemented as a means to reconstruct public housing. (Smith, 2006). The human
activity leading up to the storm, including levees constructed on the shore as well as the NOAA
announcement of a hurricane warning, had been intended to protect the residents of Louisiana and
Mississippi. Unfortunately, efforts to prepare those who would be most devastated by the storm
failed. The governmental response in the wake of the storm greatly worsened the devastation of
the storm. What is called glory seeking was the government s way of encouraging the private
sector to get involved with disaster relief. However, the Federal Emergency

  • 2. Temporary Appropriation Paper Since the 60s a vast literature (Jacobs, 1961; Harvey, 1973; Mitchell, 2003; Sennett, 2006) has discussed the physical attributes of built environment for the purpose of creating lively and inclusive public spaces through the temporary appropriation. Cities are in a constant process of transformation and the way in which they are designed and re designed might affect the rationale use of public spaces and its temporary appropriation. The temporary appropriation is defined here as the act in which people use public spaces to carry out individual or collective activities other than the purpose that the space was originally designed for (Fonseca Rodriguez, 2015a). One morning Sue was stopped abruptly in the hallway by one of her nurses. Her husband, however, was angered by the call because he felt blindsided and unprepared for the information. She promised she would investigate the incident and would call her back with any further information as to how this could have happened. Sue apologized repeatedly, and the call ended amicably. Sue went up to the busy front desk where phones were ringing and patients were waiting to schedule appointments. She knew it was not a good time to speak with the front desk staff. She decided to check the patient management system to see who had been making the reminder phone calls the day before. She saw that it was Denise and went back up to the front, leaving a note on Denise s desk that requested she come see her in her office when the front desk cleared. Sue then opened the patient s medical record through the electronic record system to gather more information on Mr. Stevens. She saw that he had just begun treatment for prostate cancer and saw nothing in the physician dictation indicating that Mr. Stevens was keeping his medical condition confidential from his family. The first one took place in Sweden in 1996, the second one was in Japan in 2001 and the third one was in Brazil in 2008. ECPAT took a leading role in these congresses with the aid of many International organizations such as WHO, ILO, UNICEF and many NGO groups that are willing to help to end worldwide child prostitution. ( Ecpatinternational.org, 2015 ). These pedophile advocacy groups deny their acts to be defined as sickness. Instead, they claim that their actions are caused because of the inherent nature of human which is nonsense because there is not any logical thought that supports their action. Sadly, these organizations play an important role to make child sex tourism organized because they promote pedophiles behavior and find child sex tourism places for these abusers. Matar argues that few NGOs such as Fight Against Child Explotation and ECPAT maintain an anti pedophile movement to permanently stop them. (p. 169). In addition to this, a tight passport control mechanism is needed to prevent these children predators. Hall argues that %25 of the arrested pedophiles are Americans, %16 of them are Germans, %13 of them are British and %13 of them are Australian. Therefore it is necessary for these NGOs to maintain anti pedophile activism worldwide. As these NGOs acknowledge governments about this concerning issue, governments can cancel passports when they doubt that the one s purpose is sexually abusing children. (p. 159 161). Overall, child sex tourism still exists today in Thailand and many other regions. There are certain actions can be made by both some international organizations and NGOs to end child prostitution. • 7. Pathos, Pros, And Cons And Uses Of The Hyundai Commercials One product most people use in their everyday lives are vehicles. I have chosen two commercials, one advertising the Honda Ridgeline and the other marketing the Hyundai Elantra. In the Honda commercial, a farmer tends to his sheep, that start singing as soon as the farmer drives away. The Hyundai commercial is very comical, showing a town where everyone is Ryan Reynolds to catch your attention. These commercials use pathos, ethos, and logos to sell their product. Advertisements use many forms of persuasion to get people to buy their product. One of these is pathos, which appeals to the emotions of the audience and evokes their feelings. In the Honda commercial, one can see sheep in the pasture singing to Somebody to Love after the farmer drives off in his new Honda Ridgeline. This is very humorous, considering sheep do not speak, let alone belt out notes from Queen. Not only are there singing sheep, but there is a talking dog towards the end of the commercial which tells those who are watching about the Honda Ridgeline ( Honda Ridgeline Super Bowl Commercial internet). This is similar to the Hyundai commercial, which is also very amusing. The audience can see two women driving through a neighborhood, where every person is Ryan Reynolds. This shows pathos, because it appeals to the viewers emotions by laughing at the comical commercial ( Ryanville Hyundai Super Bowl internet). Another form of persuasion commercials use is ethos, which appeals to one s ethics. In the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Cult Classic Essay What makes a film a cult classic? What makes a bunch of films belong to the same cult classic? I found myself asking the same question a couple of days ago, only to to get bombarded by my own memory of three distinct movies, which just happened to have the same composer: Requiem For A Dream, Moon and The Fountain. Coincidence? I think not. These three films are as psychologically triggering as they re visually stunning. But the most important aspect here is the accompanied music. The three main scores which were written by the same person for three different movies that just happen to end up being huge cult classics. First, let s talk about Requiem For a Dream: The whole story is about how addiction is more than just self medicating. Addiction, as a concept in the movie (and in reality) can be linked to virtually any substance or activity human beings consume, the movie shows that in the most beautifully ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a movie, it is really hard to come to good terms with it, as one critic said Its supporters admire the film s beauty and daring; its detractors find it overblown and hokey . The film is, more or less, an audiovisual version of MГ¶bius strip, or if I may say, the poorer but still rich prequel of Cloud Atlas. Whatever one might think about it, the score itself is Clint Mansell s best work, it moves right along the film across time and space to be a multi layered piece of astonishing creativity. The Last Man is the main score, with its string exclusive passive theme, the piece ascends us as the main character ascends through the fabric of reality. Death is The Road to Awe, on the other hand, is not as gloomy as one might guess from its title. It s been used in the crucial moment of when the character discoverers his inability to do anything about...well, anything! Somehow, the piece makes that scene a bit more emotionally tolerable as it gives it the integrity of being not sad, but sadly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. An Introduction to the Game of Golf Michael May Golf: An Introduction to the Game with an Emphasis on the Last Twenty Five Years Abstract The game of golf has changed ever since its creation in the 1400 s. Yet of all the changes in the game most of them have come within the last 25 years. Golf has developed and changed so much in the last 25 years that players and spectators alike can barely keep up with this new style of play. Research demonstrates some of the basic elements of the game, as well as most of the developmental changes the game has gone through in the last 25 years. Jeff Mashos, a former P.G.A. professional, gives his insight on the game and the changes he has seen in recent years. For golfers and golf spectators this is a brief glimpse at how golf has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First the golfer might produce a swing that is considered an open to open swing path. This occurs when the club face starts out to the right of the target line and never leaves that position. The other swing the player could produce is a square to open swing path. This is when the club face lines up with the target line at the beginning of the swing and then finishes open of the target. On the other hand Aultman describes that when a player hits the ball to the left, his swing path could either be a closed to closed path. Which occurs when the club face has a left facing angle of the target line and never leaves that point. The other swing a player could produce is square to closed path. Just like the square to open path the club face starts on the correct plane, but it closes on impact with the golf ball (Aultman 27). Both of these problems can be fixed by finding the right kind of swing, as Rick Smith puts it in his book How to Find Your Perfect Golf Swing. Smith, a tour professional, gives seven aspects that make up the golf swing. First, he describes the Human Instinct, what naturally comes to the players minds when they step up to hit the ball. Second, The Physical Condition, or a golfers ability to swing the club along the correct plane, from the beginning to the completion of their round. Third, he presents the concept of Misperception. The modern leadership dynamics, which embraces democracy, rests on the electoral processes as the tools for gaining power. It, therefore, means that an environment where the information flow is free, efficient and seamless experiences balanced power distribution. In other circumstances, some people could, by design or default, have the upper hand in the access to information. The materials targeted contained damaging information that dented her rival s political image. In all these cases, the materials were first availed to her rival, the Republican nominee for presidential position, Mr. Trump before they were made public through the media. Mr. Trump, together with his campaign propaganda machines, used this information to poke holes in Clinton s judgment and raise doubts concerning her suitability to serve as the President of the United States. The opinion polls would then show an adverse effect of the information on Clinton s prospects. Moreover, the information on the handling of mails by Ms. Clinton while serving at the State Department made a fatal blow to her chances at the last stretch of the election campaigns. The director of FBI released information to the effect that the agency would re open the investigation on Clinton regarding her culpability in terms of handling the official emails. This cemented a narrative by her rivals that she was culpable being a criminal who should have not been allowed even to contest in the first place. I began my flying career in 2004, many years before the information technology we have today. Obtaining a weather briefing before a flight would take several minutes to accomplish. Depending on the route and conditions of the flight, gathering all the required information could be quite exhausting. • 15. The Role of P2X Receptors in Nociception Introduction Nociception is the sensation of pain which is normally a warning signal to brain in respond to a potential hazard. Generally noxious stimulations are detected by specialised high threshold sensory neurons, which are refer to nociceptors. The signals are then transferred to an electrical potential and conducted to the brain via spinal cord. However sometimes abnormal nociception can lead to a moderate to severe pain although a noxious stimulus is missing. This kind of pain are usually trigger by nerve injury, while the pain sensation remains after the tissue had been healed. Although the prevalence of neuropathic pain is not significant, about 7% to 8% of the European population is affected, and about 5% are suffering severe pain (Torrance et al., 2006; Bouhassira et al., 2008). Normally the neuropathic pain is induced by injury of somatosensory nerves, and the pain remains after the tissue being healed. It can bring abnormal nociception while noxious stimuli are missing, which called dysesthesia. Beside, pain can be triggered by non painful stimuli, which is called allodynia). Many research has linked the neuropathic pain to neuronal damages where endogenous ATP being released. Therefore purinergic receptors that can respond to ATP are involved. In this essay, after a brief introduction of P2X receptors, the role of microglial P2X4 and P2X7 in neuropathic pain will be discussed. After that, two shorter pieces were chosen and the same steps were applied. The two pieces were nailed and using a template the handles of the timber tray were drawn. The drill press was then used to drill holes into the two pieces and then the handles were made from using a jigsaw. The jigsaw sawed off the wood in marked area from the template. My most meaningful family memory came from our vacation to Colorado back in 2004; yes, 2004. Although I don t remember all of the events that transpired, I m able to recall most of the memorable events that took place. It was a cool, misty morning in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, and I could distinctly hear the unmistakable elk calls that echoed through the mountains. The breeze gently scraped my face as I got into the car to begin the first day of our family vacation in Colorado. As I looked past the lanky pine trees, glistening drops of dew formed on the tall grass, dancing with the wind. As we moved further down the road, I could see the tip of the sun barely begin to peek over the steep, snowy mountain peaks; however, the sun was soon covered by the misty Colorado clouds. This was it: our family vacation! Ever since the beginning of summer, I was looking forward to one activity in particular on this vacation: our white water rafting trip. I could just imagine the cool water of the river, and the wind swiftly rubbing my tiny little face. • 27. How Does Enzyme Concentration Or Temperature Affect The... Question: How does changing enzyme concentration or temperature affect the reaction time of enzyme activity? Background and Introduction: Enzymes are proteins that process substrates, which is the chemical molecule that enzymes work on to make products. Enzyme purpose is to increase the rate of activity and speed up chemical reaction in a form of biological catalysts. The enzymes specialize in lowering the activation energy to start the process. Enzymes are very specific in their process, each substrate is designed to fit with a specific substrate and the enzyme and substrate link at the active site. The binding of a substrate to the active site of an enzyme is a very specific interaction. Active sites are clefts or grooves on the surface of an enzyme, usually composed of amino acids from different parts of the polypeptide chain that are brought together in the tertiary structure of the folded protein. Substrates initially bind to the active site by noncovalent interactions, including hydrogen bonds, ionic bonds, and hydrophobic interactions. Once a substrate is bound to the active site of an enzyme, multiple mechanisms can accelerate its conversion to the product of the reaction. But sometimes, these enzymes fail or succeed to increase the rate of action because of various factors that limit the action. These factors can be known as temperature, acidity levels (pH), enzyme and/or substrate concentration, etc. In this experiment, it will be tested how much of an effect ... Overpopulation is a serious problem that will eventually have an extremely negative effect on our countries, and our planet. The problems that arise due to overpopulation could even prove to a fatal epidemic that will eventually wipeout the entire human race. Oftentimes this issue is overlooked due to lack of knowledge and understanding of the subject; or, simply because most of us are so blessed that we are not affected first hand by the problems it is causing this very second. Overpopulation, in my belief, is an enormously serious global issue that should be identified, analyzed, and controlled immediately. The term overpopulation literally means that the number of things (in this case: humans) that depend on resources for survival is significantly larger than the amount of resources available to them. Today our planet is experiencing the effects of multiplying citizens because of the obstacles the environment is being forced to take on. Steps involves in Mitosis Mitosis consists of four basic phases and they include prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. Figure 1 shows the process that occurs in mitosis During the early phase of prophase, the cells are able to be divided into some structures and also build others up, this leads into setting the stage for their division of the chromosomes that is present. For the chromosomes to be easily pulled apart later on they start o condense during this early stage. The mitotic spindle then begins to form. This spindle is a structure that is made of microtubules, strong fibers that are considered to be the part of the cell s skeleton. The purpose of the spindle is to organize the chromosomes and to have the ability in moving them around during mitosis. The growth of the spindle occurs between the centrosomes as they move apart (https:/ /www.khanacademy.org/science/biology/cellular molecular biology/mitosis/a/phases of mitosis). . The System Of The Human Body Introduction The integumentary system is one of the largest and most integral organs in the human body, encompassing many structures and playing key roles in the protection and general function of the body (Zimmermann, 2014). As with everything however; things can go wrong, failures can occur causing the system to function at a level below what is required of it. It is at this point where we must be active in our response to these faults and subsequently utilise knowledge and techniques in order to contain these failures and sustain human life. Structure Encompassing structures like; hair, nails, nerves and glands, the integumentary system is evidently a hugely important and crucial organ within the human body (Science Net Links, 2015). Despite containing all of these structures however, the main component of the integumentary system is the skin. Consisting of three layers; epidermis, dermis and hypodermis, the skin plays key functional roles in the control of temperature within the body, production of essential vitamins, housing of sensory receptors, secretion of waste products and protection of the body (Kerr, 2010). The epidermis is the most superficial layer of the skin, composed of keratinized stratified squamous epithelium, providing a waterproofed protective layer over the epidermis (Moore, Dalley, Agur 2010). The epidermis itself separates into several layers (Figure 1) at thicker areas of skin, for example palms of hands (Carola, Harley, Noback, 1992). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Analysis Of The Poem Taps Upon The Grass Taps upon the grass. We moved to Prairie Grove, May of 2007 from Fort Smith, Arkansas. It was a beautiful day and even though the drive with a newborn and a traitor full of our belongings was intense. The scenery was absolutely memorizing, little did we know or realize how many wonderful things there were about this little town to explore. We had lived in Prairie Grove for a few years before we started attending local events. It was a Friday afternoon and I was heading to the school to pick up my oldest son Elliott from band practice and I noticed a lot of people setting up tents and walking around in old settler clothes. Men in blue and gray suits, some were riding horses. Women in petticoats and big bulky dresses. All walking around the Battlefield Park like this was something normal that went on everyday. I m thinking, Ok, this town is kind of weird. Soon I started to learn the history of the town we moved to, and all the intricate details surrounding the town of Prairie Grove. Come to find out, Part of the Civil War battle was fought on the Prairie Grove Battlefield on December 7, 1862. The Confederate Army under Major General Thomas C Hindman engaged the Union Divisions of Brigadier General Francis J. Herron and James G. Blunt near Prairie Grove Church. They were suppose to attack Blunt on Cane Hill but this plan was foiled by the untimely arrival of two union divisions. The Hindman division ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Power And Control In The Visit By Frank Durrenmatt Well known writer, Friedrich Durrenmatt, in his drama, The Visit, conveys the idea in which Claire Zachanassian embodies aggregate power and control, and she uses those features to dehumanize the people of Gullen throughout the play. Durrenmatt s purpose is to illustrate that money can buy power, and power is what leads to all disorder and chaos. He adopts a striking and staggering tone in order to express how humanity is so easily purchased by mere paper. By doing this, Claire shows that her money can justly buy anything, literally. Because The Pair lied to the court many years before about falsely sleeping with her, she decided to make them pay. When she figured out she was pregnant, she was confused and helpless. Alfred Ill, supposedly, put Koby and Loby up to a bet offering the two money if they lied and said that they slept with Claire. When this statement from the two men was put into question, everyone in town turned against Claire and shunned her. A great showcase of the different parts of the personality can be found within the movie Regarding Henry. In this movie Henry Turner falls victim to an armed man in his local convenience store. After the accident Henry s personality, and life in general, undergoes a drastic change. In my opinion, Henry s natural state is his id. In this movie, Henry Turner appears to be largely controlled by his id. One of the first big examples of this is when he leaves the house late at night by himself to go purchase cigarettes. Henry goes out at a dangerous hour because he feels the need for a cigarette and this is what results in him being shot. • 45. High Impulsivity And Novelty Seeking Drugs The article, High Impulsivity Predicts the Switch to Compulsive Cocaine Talking, sought to determine whether impulsivity and novelty seeking (which are behavioral markers of addictive drugs) place individuals in the vulnerability of compulsive seeking of the drug. The researchers used laboratory rats to test the vulnerability. Researchers found that high reactivity to novelty predicted the likelihood of rats seeking cocaine self administration. However, high impulsivity seemed to predict the development of addictionlike behavior in the laboratory rats. The results obtained by researchers has changed the perspective from the impulsivity aspect of drug use towards the compulsivity factor during the initial stages of addiction development. Interestingly, the compulsive factor can be generated through neural physiology (i.e. neural mechanisms or diminished function of cortical function). In terms of lecture material, as discussed, drugs (such as stimulants) produce a hedonic state in individuals that leads them to greater drug use. The sensation of false euphoria can be what drives individuals who actively seek the drug. This can make drug users to impulsively seek drugs. This is not something orcas, also known as killer whales, envision but rather a daily fear that one day can possibly come true. Orcas have been kept in captivity since 1961. There have been numerous amounts of orcas captured from the wild since than. These innocent and helpless orcas have been snatched from their families, and forced to live with other orcas who are not part of their family. By looking at the documentary, Blackfish, one can see the many reasons why orcas should not be held in captivity. One major reason why orcas should not be held in captivity is because orcas are a family oriented type species. Orcas are extremely social animals. Orcas are very close to their family. For example, when SeaWorld orca catchers came to capture orcas in the year 1977, John Crowe, one of the orca catcher s, said, When we took the baby orcas and left the adults, the adults huddled in a circle and made noises to the baby orcas that were being taken away. These coded instructions are genes. Abnormal changes in genes can turn normal ovarian cells to cancer cells. Normal cells grow and divided to make new cells. New cells are made as the body needs them to replace injured or dying cells. When normal cells grow old or get damaged, they die. Cancercells don t do that. The changes in genes causes cancer cells to make too many copies of themselves (National comprehensive cancer network,2015). Cancer cells make new cells that aren t needed and don t die quickly when old or damaged. Most times cancer cells grow and divide enough to form a mass or tumour. People often possess different perspectives and refer to pros and cons on both sides of the spectrum. While some believes a universal healthcare system will set a foundation for a lower quality of service, increasing governmental finance deficit, and higher taxes, others do not hold the same thought.
