Essay On Texas Local Government
Chapter ten focuses on Texas local government and why it is such a huge deal. The local
government is closer and highly responsive to citizens than the state and the federal government.
They provide water, public education, and other services. Over the years, Texas is rapidly
becoming more diverse which creates a greater demand for more representation in the local
government. The top five cities have diverse city councils. It does make a difference when a city s
council does not reflect the city s population. San Antonio s city council best reflects the racial
/ethnic composition of its population. Sadly, Houston s council diverges the most from its city s
racial/ethnic composition. They have five members of the council who are white, but the largest
race in their population are Latinos (Champagne, Harpham, Casellas 339). I do think it is crucial for
the city councils to reflect the racial/ethnic composition of their communities... Show more content

Special districts are popping up all over. Texashas a lot of special districts because they are easy to
organize and operate. Special districts solve problems that already exist in the government. They
can serve one county or multiple counties. Districts almost do anything you can think of, as long
as it is legal (Champagne, Harpham, Casellas 344). They provide public services like sanitation,
ambulance services, and hospital care (Siegel). I feel like cities and counties shouldn t do the
jobs that special districts do even though they both exercise the same powers. Special districts are
more hands on and tailored to their counties. Every county has different concerns and needs. Cities
and counties do not do the jobs that special districts do because taxes make it harder for them to
provide services citizens want. The amount differs and for each county. Property taxes and user
fees are the main source of revenue for special districts (Champagne, Harpham, Casellas

The Controversies Of Gene Therapy
The Controversies of Gene Therapy Demolishing genetic diseases from the human race has been
and always will be a key role in science. However, there comes a point in time when moral
standards have interjected the betterment of cleansing genetic diseases. One of the many branches
of science that has the complete capability to exterminate our destiny of any genetic diseases, gene
therapy, is being silenced due to the curse of society s moral standards. There is a very narrow
line in what is not morally correct and ethical to standards of people; causing the advancement of
procedures like gene therapyto be narrow. The only explanation to gene therapy awaits on what we,
as a community, can bring about for the future generations, but this is... Show more content on

This is one of the major factors that lead to the absence in the gaining of therapeutic science.
Although the lack in progress cannot be the only factor blasted for; some scientific trials have
confirmed both anxious and fearful, advancing tighter on gene therapy restrictions. According to
Hogarth, this hotly debatable topic of whether it is dangerous or not playing God has caused many
religious, governmental, scientific and public figures to signify their own concerns in fierce
debates (Hogarth para 9). Since the beginning of gene therapy, there has always been a constant
battle over the guidance of its future of whether gene therapy will transform into a therapeutic
science or lead to unpleasant consequences as the eugenics did in the 20th century. The ethics of
gene therapy have been established and based on, not only beliefs, but also the disconnection and
advantages achieved in the trials, which has lead to the breakthrough of the future of gene therapy.
The downfall and advancement of gene therapy are the hereditary products of research that have
had a major influential impact on its ethical features. When gene therapy was a novice, it gained an
immense amount of popularity when scientific research evolved towards identifying genes that
induce certain diseases (Hunt, 2006). The idea of using gene therapy to heal patients diagnosed with

Tenochtitlan
Regarding the provenance of the raw materials, in this work we focus in the limestone, being an
important construction material that was not present in the immediate surroundings of
Tenochtitlan. In fact, this was an island city, located in the middle of a volcanic basin, and the
nearest geological limestone outcrops were located far away. According to the historical sources
written during the 16th century, the Aztecs imported by way of tribute and commerce lime and
limestone from different regions. For instance, the tributary lists known as the MatrГcula de
Tributos (1991, 22) and the Codex Mendoza (1992, 28r, 42r) record that lime loads were brought
periodically from Tepeacac (a province located in the modern state of Puebla) and from Atotonilco

On the other hand, the native informants of Friar
Bernardino de SahagГєn (1979, xi:221r) speak about different kinds of limestone used to paint:
chimaltizatl and tetizatl. After SahagГєn (2000, 1132), the first came from Huaxtepec (near
Cuernavaca, Morelos) and was sold in the market, while the second one was obtained in the small
rivers near Tula (in the modern state of Hidalgo). For the new enlargement of the Templo
Mayor ordered around ad 1467 by Motecuhzoma I, mentioned above, the lime would have been

Nicholson 1987; LГіpez LujГЎn et al. 2003; LГіpez LujГЎn 2006). Understanding the provenance
of the limestone used in the plasters of Templo Mayor, and clarifying whether there were changes
over time in the outcrops exploited, could therefore help in better understanding the relationship
between the Mexicas and their neighbours in Central Mexico and verifying what the historical
sources suggest.

Financial Issue of a dealer If the dealer is facing a personal financial crisis this reflects on the
wholesale growth for the TSM
3.Designing the compensation plan for the DSE Maruti has defined the minimum amount that the
dealership has to pay the DSE but apart from maintaining this, dealership does not have a very
liberal compensation plan. The salary of a sales executive is less and the incentive plans are also
very strict and irregular which leads to a high attrition rate.
4.Limited Access to information while travelling or out of office: If an employee is not in office
either travelling or on leave then he does not have the access to the information system i.e. DMS,
ERP or the BI tool which delays decision making
Recommendation for improving sales process
1.The compensation plan preparations: Maruti should not only be involved in the determining the
lower limit of the salary of the sales executive but should be actively involved during the complete
compensation structuring.
2.Framing monitoring of incentive scheme: The sales executive complains that the incentive
schemes are not regular. Maruti should be involved in designing these schemes for DSEs so that
the deserving performers are awarded and also it should monitor that these are followed

The Emergency Department ( Ed )
Background Length of stay in the Emergency Department (ED) is one important aspect of
healthcare that can affect patient satisfaction as well as the number of patients that can be seen
by a physician in a day. Length of stay (LOS) is measured as the time a person spends at the ED
between arrival and departure (1). A longer LOS will not only affect patient satisfaction
negatively by creating unnecessary frustrations, but can also cause ED overcrowding, leading to
poor patient care (2). The number of ED visits in the U.S. i.s approximately 129.8 million in
2010 and is continuing to rise (10). The issue of ED overcrowding has gained national attention
due to many problems, such as a decrease in hospital bed availability (3), an increase in hospital
mortality, and an increase in the number of patients leaving the ED before being seen by a
physician (4). It has then become increasingly evident that in order to improve patient care and
ED flow, it is necessary to examine factors associated with longer LOS in the ED. The purpose of
this study is to examine specifically the patient population that presents to the emergency
department with suicidal ideation (SI), due to the lack of literature regarding the topic of LOS in
patients with suicidal ideation. Considering how vulnerable suicidal patients are, it is even more
crucial to provide prompt and timely care to them, and find ways to reduce their LOS in the ED.
SI is defined as unusual thoughts or desire to end one s life, which

How Did Thomas Aquinas Influence
The Worldwide Influence of St. Thomas Aquinas Thomas Aquinas was born in the year 1225 into
an incredibly Catholic family in a small town in Italy. As Thomas Aquinas grew up, he was very
smart and was very interested in the catholic faith and philosophy and ultimately became a teacher
of all these things. Thomas Aquinasproved that he was an important historical figure over his life
time by being a leader in the Catholic Church, writing The Summa and spreading his beliefs.

One of Thomas Aquinas s greatest accomplishments was his book called The Summa, this
helped create his place in history because it was one of the first books by a philosopher proving
God s existence. Summa was written for the common people by Thomas Aquinas to help the
readers understand that the religion is reasonable. The book also takes Thomas Aquinas
researches of philosophy and bring them into his religious beliefs. The book was written
sometime around 1265 1272. In The Summa, Thomas Aquinas basically talked about how there
is no reason why not to believe in god. He made statements that showed there IS evidence into
believing in god but no evidence not to believe in god. The summa is divided into 3 chapters in
which Thomas Aquinas gave different sets of evidence. The first summa is the fact that Thomas
Aquinas believed in God s existence. In the Summa, Thomas Aquinas says, God wills good to
every being which exists and loves them. Together making love the common denominator of God
to the world. Statements like this in the first summa were referring to the fact that god helps
everyone and it brings out the best love in them. The second summa was all about ethics and how
people should act. Aquinas based a lot of his information of of the information of a man he studied
for years, Aristotle. Aristotle was just before Thomas Aquinas time and Thomas Aquinas didn t only

Freudian Perspectives of Shakespeare s Hamlet Essay
Freudian Perspectives of Hamlet
The term consciousness refers to one s awareness of internal and external stimuli. The unconscious
contains thoughts, memories, and desires that are well below the surface of awareness but that
nonetheless exert great influence on behavior. (Weiten) The core of the Freudian perspective is
centered around Hamlet s relationship with his mother, and the relationship of Hamlet and King
Claudius. According to the Freudian view, Hamlet is driven by unconscious sexual desire and
aggravation. This sexual aggression is directed towards his mother and Claudius.
The mystery of Shakespeare s Hamlet is a phantom of literary debate that has haunted readers
throughout the centuries. Hamlet is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In doing so, one will come to the conclusion that Hamlet is driven by forces other than what is
obvious to the reader, as well as Hamlet himself. Given this example, one must denounce the
assumption that Hamlet is aware of the forces that motivate him, and understand that Hamlet s true
motivation is unconscious This unconscious force is the true reason behind Hamlet s mysterious
behavior. In naming this force, one must look beneath the surface of Hamlet s own level of
consciousness, and into what Hamlet himself is consciously unaware. The key to understanding
Hamlet lies in the realization of the unconscious energy that provokes him to action and inaction.
By channeling into Hamlet s unconscious, providing Freudian psychoanalytical perspectives,
Hamlet s true unconscious motivation will be uncovered, and the mystery of Hamlet will be
silenced.

In Praise of Folly
In Praise of Folly Erasmus Dichotomy
The Silenus box is a case carved like an ugly Silenus that can be opened to reveal beautiful,
precious objects (Erasmus 43, footnote). This box appears in Erasmus Praise of Folly as a
metaphor for the central claim in the novel, which is that that which appears to be Folly (ugly)
externally, is wise (precious) within. Erasmus reveals this dichotomy on three levels: in the image
of the box itself, in his genuine praise of Folly, and in the structure of the novel as a whole.
Erasmus, using the female voice of Folly, introduces his reader to the image of the Silenus box
early in the text, thereby allowing his reader to carry the image with her for the rest of her time
reading (and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Folly, being folly, goes on from her initial description of the box to give the majority of her list
backwards (although she begins correctly), claiming that if the list goes in one direction, it must, of
course, go in the opposite direction as well (she s a woman you can t expect her to be reasonable
(28)). To do this, she abruptly inserts the word conversely (43), and continues with a long
backward list. Life will turn out to be death; beauty will become ugliness, and so on, she says
(43). In this backwards list, good outsides cloak bad insides. She then uses this inverted list as a
springboard to celebrate wise appearances (although this is the exact opposite of the central
message of the book, which is the celebration of foolish appearances).
She declares that esteemed members of the community are truly members of her (Folly s) clan,
and that all they have of wisdom is its appearance. Kings and great courtiers... find suitable
pretexts within which they can steal from their citizens and live in luxury so that downright
injustice at least has some appearance of justice (107 8). Popes, cardinals and bishops also behave
artificially. They play their roles with theatrical pomp and ceremonies, but as much as they abide by
the superficial demands of their positions,

The Most Common Problems in Project Management as...
Chapter 1
Introduction
Project Management is not something new in today s world as it has been practiced since the early
civilization by early architects and engineers such as Vitruvius, a Roman writer, architect and
engineer, Christopher Wren, Thomas Telford and Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Though it has been
used before, organizations started to apply systematically the project management tools and
techniques to complex project in the 1950s.
No matter what the size of the organization is, there is always a need to have project management
that is involved in new endeavors such as the development of a new product or service;
establishment of a new production line; a public relations promotional campaign or even a major
building program. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All these fields deal with various problems that vary in severity according to different managers and
according the situations that they are dealing with.
In the book of Lawson (2009) he gave a detailed information about the steps to take for a
successful project management. He has four major steps in his book such as: 1. Evaluation of
options for change 2. Putting together an effective project team 3. Planning a logical course of
work 4. Keeping projects on time and to budget
According to Clear (2011) in his article entitled 7 Common Project Management Problems (and
How to Solve them) undesirable outcome in a project management can be avoided by designers
and developers by getting familiar with these 7 project management problems. 1. Vague and ever
changing client requirements. The client s requirement can be a big problem and therefore, it is
very important to provide a clear path laid out from start to finish so client can have specificity in
his/her requirements and keeping the project on track as well. 2. Slow client s communication.
Slow communication has been another big reason why projects are being delayed. With this
situation, project managers should have the initiative to do a little bit of work ahead of time.
Instead of waiting for the response of the client, start doing the work which is according to the
direction that you think is

One of the key reasons they took to the higher mountain reaches, amongst others, was to take

Heating And Climate Change Uk
Heating plays a major role in providing a comfortable environment for its occupants.
Various new legislations from UK Government and EU standards have been raised for lower energy
consumption and lower greenhouse gas emissions to meet stated demands. Up until now the
construction industry has been introducing new products in order to meet the lower energy targets.
Also the technological developments has given the opportunity to the manufacturers to produce
highly efficient heat emitters. These will help reduce overall energy consumption and also will
help to achieve a reduced carbon emission. In the UK, Domestic heating contributes to around 20%
of total carbon emissions. (J Douglas 2015,p4) The report published in July 2015 by Department of
Energy and climate change UK (DECC) indicate that the total energy consumed by domestic sector
around 27%. Space heating and water heating in the United Kingdom consumes around 60% of the
total energy used by the building sector. More than half of the money spent on fuel bills in a typical
household goes into providing heating (Energy serving trust).
Increasing fuel prices and inefficient heating systems are the main sources of fuel poverty. A
report published by Daily mail newspaper indicates that more than 2700 people are dying in
England and Wales due to fuel poverty. (S.Poulter, 2011) Building designers and building services

Stages Of Alcoholism Leading Cirrhosis Of The Liver Essay
Stages of Alcoholism Leading to Cirrhosis of the Liver
Mikal Norvell
Fortis Institute, Dr. Bassant
Abstract
This paper describes, briefly, the stages of the alcoholism as it slowly damages the liver, and
finally results in permanent, irreversible damage called cirrhosis. Excessive alcohol consumption,
or alcoholism is the number one cause of cirrhosis in the U.S. Though tolerance levels are
different for each individual, daily consumption of more than ten alcoholic drinks over ten or more
years contribute to a higher risk of cirrhosis. The first part of the paper will describe the liver and
what the liver does. I will also discuss different levels of drinking leading to alcoholism. Finally,
the paper will also discuss the deterioration levels leading to the signs and symptoms of cirrhosis.
Keywords: Cirrhosis, a chronic disease of the liver marked by degeneration of cells, inflammation,
and fibrous thickening of tissue. It is typically a result of alcoholism or hepatitis.
Stages of Alcoholism Leading to Cirrhosis of the Liver
The liver is the upper part of the abdomen and it the only organ is the body that can regenerate
itself, which is why a person can donate part of their liver to another. What does a liver do? The
liver stores glycogen, a.k.a. fuel, for the body. It helps process fats and proteins from digested
food. The liver makes a protein that enables blood to clot. It processes some oral medications, and
removes poisons, toxins, and alcohol from the

The Legend Of Turnus By Aeneas Summary
Deadly Resurrection
As Aeneas stood over the corpse of Turnus, his conscience was split in two. Half of his mind
rejoiced with the death of such a malicious man who had caused so much strife. The other half
lurched at the sight of bloodshed. Aeneas sighed with confusion as he slowly walked away from
the scene. Unlike most of his countrymen, he would never become comfortable with taking life,
even if it were for a just cause. While engaged in such controversial thoughts, his guard relaxed and
his gaze flitted about inattentively. With his mind elsewhere, Aeneasfailed to notice the wind
picking up speed at an alarming pace. Sand was flying about all around him, compromising his
vision. Suddenly, through the howling of the wind, Aeneas heard the words I will be back .
Instantaneously, the storm abated. Aeneas whirled around; apprehensive about the sight he was
about to face... the body of Turnus was gone. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He devised a plan. He gathered his men. They hastily constructed a fort. Aeneas and his men

Turnus really had mysteriously disappeared. After all, the surviving adversaries had buried their
dead, so their leader could well have been accounted for among those. Of course, Aeneas refused to
entertain their doubts. This infuriated the captains. While Aeneas was bathing one night, they
gathered the men together and informed them of their suspicions. Only two of his followers
remained loyal to Aeneas, the rest conspired to mutiny. The mutineers seized Aeneas and his two
faithful followers and left them to die in the

The Economic Impact Of Amoebic Dysentery
There are no definitive metrics on the economic impact of amoebic dysentery. The disease mostly
afflicts children in farming communities whose source of drinking water are streams, rivers and

The divine wind racism
The Divine Wind The Divine Wind shows how difficult it is for communities to accept cultural
difference. Discuss. The community of Broome before the advent of World War II in The Divine
Wind at first appears to be an idyllic town in which Malays, Koepangers, Japanese, Manilamen
and Australians all work in relative harmony in search of the elusive pearl. Hartley Penrose, the
central narrator of the novel, seems to enjoy describing the tropical existence of Broome and its
harmony: mangoes and barramundi on the table , the half dozen languages, the slap of sandals and
bare feet. But for all its seeming harmony, Broome is a town where racial tensions simmer just
under the surface and evolve into a blatant racism with the coming of... Show more content on

Major Morrissey demonstrates a view typical of the ignorant racist if your Jap painted his face
with burnt cork, who would be the wiser? and shows a tendency to view people with totally
different cultures as one and the same. Such is his belief in his own superiority and the
unsuperiority of others of different race, that he neglects to realise that Japanese and Aboriginal
cultures are two very independent and separate ways of life. The racially and culturally
intolerant behaviour of the community of Broome shows how troublesome it is to accept
cultural difference. Even the two most unprejudiced and open minded characters in The Divine
Wind demonstrate the devastating effect of spreading racial intolerance in a small community.
Originally, Hart and Michael Penrose are indignant at the treatment of some of the Aboriginals
and Japanese. They alone are able to see the idiocy of the internment camps: Alf? Peggy? What
harm can they do anyone? Michael shows his disapproval in the most sarcastic manner when he
comments: Maybe they think Sadako will send messages out to sea in her soy sauce bottles.
Maybe they think she ll insinuate herself into our lives and commode our will But sadly and
steadily, Michael s resistance to the racial intolerance decreases and is washed away with Alice
officially reported as missing, he feels that Mitsy and Sadako, his two friends are now two lithe
killers. After his stroke, Michael spends his days desperately

The Story Of The Uva Campus Rape
Journalist are so focused on getting a hot story that they forget one of the most important principles
of journalism, which is the notion of objectivity. Objectivity is described, as an objective journalist
is one who is detached, neutral, impartial, and unbiased (Knowlton 45). When Rolling Stone had
Steve Coll and his crew investigate the story that was one of the first problems found in the story
of the UVA campus rape. Sabrina Rubin Erdely was in search of a college rape case that would
show what it s like to be on campus now (Coronel). When Erdely found a story she just went with
it, she did not research enough to make sure the story was credible. From the beginning of the
whole process of the story she already started off unbiased and not neutral to the true facts of the
story.
A Journalist must be unbiased but they also have to check their sources to make sure they are
credible. To working journalist, the procedures of verification and attribution are as automatic
as breathing in and out. (Knowlton 56) This is another thing the Erdely and the Rolling Stone
fact checker failed to do. Erdely failed to follow up with her sources and make sure they were
credible sources. Instead she felt the student ( Jackie ) had this stamp of credibility because a
university employee had connected them (Coronel). Than as for the fact checker which job is to
review a writer s story after it has been drafted, to double check details like dates and physical

Speech On Building Muscle
As you are probably already well aware, building muscle is not an easy task, and it is certainly
not just something that can happen in a matter of days, weeks, or possibly even months for that
matter. In order to build muscle and get your body into shape, you will need to completely change
your lifestyle and make a considerable amount of changes, not only to your diet, but also to your
training and exercise regimes in the process. People looking in from the outside tend to think of
bodybuildingas nothing more than a hobby in which bodybuilders head to the gym a couple of
times per week, eat plenty of eggs and chicken, chug down protein shakes, and spend the rest of
their time relaxing and unwinding. In the real world, however, things are very... Show more content

Increased Muscle Pumps, Definition, And Vascularity
Another great benefit of high rep training is the fact that the muscle pumps, vascularity, and the
definition you see with this form of training are extremely impressive. To begin with, for the first
few reps, you may feel fine and may not feel anything at all. As you reach ten or more reps,
however, the blood will rush into your muscles, leading to increased levels of vascularity, as well
as much more impressive muscle pumps, as your muscles will feel as if they are on fire.

Interest Groups In Elections
Interest groups have a lot of influence over decision that the government makes and has made.
These groups, when formed right, are highly organized and have a definite agenda they are
trying to push that is important to them. Interest groups will lobby in congress as well as other
levels of government to get new laws and regulations passed. In recent elections on the
congressional level as well as for President we see the growing influences of interest groups in the
form of PAC s and Super PAC s to back candidates. Super PAC s can spend an unrestricted amount
money to support a certain problems or candidate but cannot donate directly to the campaigns. PAC
s work with campaigns directly reallocating donations to candidates and parties.... Show more

One is putting money towards the campaigns of Congressmen and women that either support their
shared ideals. This is not the buying of votes though as it is seen to the public eye that would be a
waste of funds to go about trying to pass policy that way. Hall and Waymen argue that interest
groups and PAC money that is used to back certain candidate in election is not to buy votes but to
mobilize the legislative process. Simply put, interest group resources are intended to accomplish
something different from, and more than, influencing elections or buying votes...we argue that PAC
money should be allocated in order to mobilize legislative support and demobilization opposition,
particularly at the most important point in the legislative process. That is only one way that they
influence congress. Public support is another. If an interest group can gather enough public support
behind their issues they can effect change in government policy. For example the NAACP in its
fight for civil rights. Interest groups work with the government to push policy. Without the
government some interest groups would exist because of the government grants that they receive.
Other groups can be led by an organization, single person or by

The Economic Benefits Of Economic Welfare Essay
Economic welfare is defined as the well being or standard of living of an individual or individuals
taking part in an economy (Business Dictionary, 2015). This can be measured through statistics
such as individual income, health care expense, educational achievement and opportunity for
economic growth. The better one fares among these categories, the more likely one is to have a
higher standard of living and possess an inherent socio economic advantage. Currently, the
aboriginal population scores poorly across all of these standards. Despite governmentincentives, the
average indigenous person is born into an economic disadvantage with little room for vertical
movement, indicating a need for major social and legislative change.
Among the aboriginal population in 2005, 18.7% of individuals living with family were below the
poverty line. Unattached, or single, individuals were even more likely to fall into this low income
bracket at 42.8%. Conversely, these rates among the non aboriginal population were 8.4% and
28.0% respectively (Collin Jensen, 2009). These numbers highlight the economic disparity
Aboriginals face, the cause of which lies rooted in their historical mistreatment. To better
understand the situation today and how it came to be, one must begin by looking at early Canadian
policy involving Aboriginals.
The first important document concerned with indigenous rights was the Royal Proclamation.
Signed in 1763, it recognized the sovereignty of the aboriginal

Evaluation Of The Block C Placement
Block C placement was organised for me to do training at respiratory ward, general surgery
ward, renal unit, oncology ward and primary care. In respiratory ward, I did ward rounds, some
care plans for pneumonia patients and I had a tour on devices used for asthma and COPD.
Whereas in other wards I did medicinereconciliation, attended ward rounds as well as did patient
counselling. In this report, I would like to reflect on community pharmacyservices, care homes and
other primary care units.
I felt different in this block of placement in many ways. That was because I had a plan for it as I
knew my needed gaps (prioritizing care issues) to be strengthened so I could focus. Another
reason made me impressed is that, most of the tutorials done were related to the placement I do,
this could aid me to underpin the information given in a tutorial to a practical scene. For
instance, we had an antibiotic s tutorial which helped me relate it in respiratory ward and general
surgery for cases needed antibiotics. Furthermore, I was lucky to have a new experience in my life

The Screwtape Letters is a novel that s written in an epistolary and satirical style. The novel is

The Influence Of Terra Nullius On Indigenous Australia s...
Buchan and Heath argue that the term terra nullius was used to create a false construct of Australia
and it s Aboriginal people. Terra Nullius resulted in Britain justifying illegal colonisation of
Aboriginal land and denigrating Aboriginal Australians by ignoring their sovereignty despite failing
to either conquer or form treaties with Aboriginal Australiapeople.
The term terra nullius means nobody s land and was what the British colonists declared Australian
territory was when they landed on the shores in 1788 (Hollinsworth 2006). Colonists saw upon
arrival that Australia was inhabited by Indigenous people, however because of lack of cultivation
and societal systems like Europeans had established, they concluded that the land was now owned
by them and hence no treaty or conquest was required before they could lawfully reside on the land.

Currently there is a large amount of research based on the use of the system and its benefits,
although there is nothing in current research that shows the saturation of awareness in the aviation
community. Some of the current research highlights the great benefits of the system, including the
mass gathering of data to identify specific problems within the safety sector. Such as Cardosi,
Falzarano, Han (2008) researchbased on ASRS reports, where they analyzed 386 reports from the
program database and gathered data which yielded a lot of results on the contributing factors of
pilot controller communication errors. The data they gathered was directly based of the ASRS self
reports submitted both by pilots and Air Traffic Controllers... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

By providing the users with its benefits of confidentiality and partial immunity, it draws people in to
report the problems that will be used for future identifications and research. Several researchers have
already used the data provided by the system to create further safety information within the aviation
field, although the amount of data the gathered was rather limited and needed a further boost,
which the ASRS system can provide if the majority of personnel are aware of its existence.
Furthermore, a majority of the research literature so far has all been based on the data that the
ASRS has stored, but almost no research has been done on the ASRS awareness within the
aviation community. If the proper research is done on the ASRS and the knowledge of it of the
aviation sector, the field would view a greatly increased input of data and create a truly
preventative system that create an overall safer environment. The current state of awareness of the
ASRS system within the aviation community is severely inconspicuous and under used. Through
the proposed research, additional data will be collected to clearly identify a percentage of people
that are aware of the ASRS program and know how to utilize it.
The proposed hypothesis of this research project is that the ASRS reporting system has a large gap
in the awareness and identification of the current system. To identify

Machiavelli The Father Of Modern Political Thought Summary

Machiavelli The Father of Modern Political Thought
There are many reasons why Machiavelli is widely considered the beginner of modern political
thought, one of the many is he studied strictly the politicians, and businessmen. Machiavelli
recognized the political playing field as a vile place only for the most dominating and cunning of
political giants. One of Machiavelli s most famous work, On Principalities, or known by the other
title, The Prince, absolutely announced a break with previous political beliefs secured between
moral and religion system, it examines the nature of his views on power that are still somewhat
in existent today. Machiavelli discusses in this work power over the people, oppressive power,
and shared power. Machiavelli discusses two specific groups of people such as the political elite
and the general public within this work.
While Machiavelli highlighted power over in relations between the political elite, he examines a
different kind of power in the affiliation between a prince and his public. Machiavelli noted that
he can share his power with his people, since he can trust his people more than he can the nobles.
The nobles cannot be satisfied if their ruler acts honorably, because their desires are more ethical
than the nobles are. The people are more forgiving and less greedy so he can place more trust in
his people and empower his trusting public.
Though the public may be more trustworthy Machiavelli also stated that a prince needed to be harsh
in the treatment of both the mixed sectors and the new sectors to avoid rebellions, the prince must
be harsh and cautious. It is easier for a prince to hold control after he has already stopped a
rebellion by empowering his power. Once the prince takes control of the city, he cannot forget it,
for his control can be easily lost.
Without order within his own court let alone his public, the prince would soon fall and possible
lose his control over everything. More or less how the prince started at the bottom and slowly made
his way to becoming a great king or he died at the feet of his people or someone of higher power

Personal Statement On Team Rules
13. Team Rules I will determine most of the basic rules concerning GPA, being late to practice,
and the consequences for not reaching the statistics base marks (number of points scored in a
quarter, serving percentage, etc.) set before each game by the coaching staff. However, rules
concerning what to wear on game days, whether team lunches are required, etc. I will leave up to
my team to decide at the beginning of the season. I also believe that because they will be setting
up these rules that they are also the ones responsible for the consequences as well. 14.
Scholarships I want to be an extremely active coach concerning recruiting. As a coach, I would
like to eventually coach at the collegiate level and having the ability to both network as well as
produce players that are scholarship worthy is a way to portray my ability as a coach. As a
coach, I want what is best for my players and I want them to truly love the sport. If they come to
love the sport and would like to play on in college, I want them to be able to have that
opportunity. I did not have any coaches that were active in helping me to know how to recruit
myself. I think that if I would have had more information about recruiting then it would have
benefitted me as an athlete. I will make sure that every freshman that comes into my program is
aware of the NCAA Eligibility Center and how the recruiting process works regardless of whether
I think they could play collegiately. As a coach, I will not know until

  • 2. Essay On Texas Local Government Chapter ten focuses on Texas local government and why it is such a huge deal. The local government is closer and highly responsive to citizens than the state and the federal government. They provide water, public education, and other services. Over the years, Texas is rapidly becoming more diverse which creates a greater demand for more representation in the local government. The top five cities have diverse city councils. It does make a difference when a city s council does not reflect the city s population. San Antonio s city council best reflects the racial /ethnic composition of its population. Sadly, Houston s council diverges the most from its city s racial/ethnic composition. They have five members of the council who are white, but the largest race in their population are Latinos (Champagne, Harpham, Casellas 339). I do think it is crucial for the city councils to reflect the racial/ethnic composition of their communities... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Special districts are popping up all over. Texashas a lot of special districts because they are easy to organize and operate. Special districts solve problems that already exist in the government. They can serve one county or multiple counties. Districts almost do anything you can think of, as long as it is legal (Champagne, Harpham, Casellas 344). They provide public services like sanitation, ambulance services, and hospital care (Siegel). I feel like cities and counties shouldn t do the jobs that special districts do even though they both exercise the same powers. Special districts are more hands on and tailored to their counties. Every county has different concerns and needs. Cities and counties do not do the jobs that special districts do because taxes make it harder for them to provide services citizens want. The amount differs and for each county. Property taxes and user fees are the main source of revenue for special districts (Champagne, Harpham, Casellas ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, there comes a point in time when moral standards have interjected the betterment of cleansing genetic diseases. One of the many branches of science that has the complete capability to exterminate our destiny of any genetic diseases, gene therapy, is being silenced due to the curse of society s moral standards. This is one of the major factors that lead to the absence in the gaining of therapeutic science. Although the lack in progress cannot be the only factor blasted for; some scientific trials have confirmed both anxious and fearful, advancing tighter on gene therapy restrictions. According to Hogarth, this hotly debatable topic of whether it is dangerous or not playing God has caused many religious, governmental, scientific and public figures to signify their own concerns in fierce debates (Hogarth para 9). Since the beginning of gene therapy, there has always been a constant battle over the guidance of its future of whether gene therapy will transform into a therapeutic science or lead to unpleasant consequences as the eugenics did in the 20th century. The ethics of gene therapy have been established and based on, not only beliefs, but also the disconnection and advantages achieved in the trials, which has lead to the breakthrough of the future of gene therapy. The downfall and advancement of gene therapy are the hereditary products of research that have had a major influential impact on its ethical features. When gene therapy was a novice, it gained an immense amount of popularity when scientific research evolved towards identifying genes that induce certain diseases (Hunt, 2006). • 5. Tenochtitlan Regarding the provenance of the raw materials, in this work we focus in the limestone, being an important construction material that was not present in the immediate surroundings of Tenochtitlan. In fact, this was an island city, located in the middle of a volcanic basin, and the nearest geological limestone outcrops were located far away. According to the historical sources written during the 16th century, the Aztecs imported by way of tribute and commerce lime and limestone from different regions. • 8. The Emergency Department ( Ed ) Background Length of stay in the Emergency Department (ED) is one important aspect of healthcare that can affect patient satisfaction as well as the number of patients that can be seen by a physician in a day. Length of stay (LOS) is measured as the time a person spends at the ED between arrival and departure (1). A longer LOS will not only affect patient satisfaction negatively by creating unnecessary frustrations, but can also cause ED overcrowding, leading to poor patient care (2). The number of ED visits in the U.S. i.s approximately 129.8 million in 2010 and is continuing to rise (10). The issue of ED overcrowding has gained national attention due to many problems, such as a decrease in hospital bed availability (3), an increase in hospital mortality, and an increase in the number of patients leaving the ED before being seen by a physician (4). It has then become increasingly evident that in order to improve patient care and ED flow, it is necessary to examine factors associated with longer LOS in the ED. The purpose of this study is to examine specifically the patient population that presents to the emergency department with suicidal ideation (SI), due to the lack of literature regarding the topic of LOS in patients with suicidal ideation. Considering how vulnerable suicidal patients are, it is even more crucial to provide prompt and timely care to them, and find ways to reduce their LOS in the ED. In naming this force, one must look beneath the surface of Hamlet s own level of consciousness, and into what Hamlet himself is consciously unaware. The key to understanding Hamlet lies in the realization of the unconscious energy that provokes him to action and inaction. This box appears in Erasmus Praise of Folly as a metaphor for the central claim in the novel, which is that that which appears to be Folly (ugly) externally, is wise (precious) within. Erasmus reveals this dichotomy on three levels: in the image of the box itself, in his genuine praise of Folly, and in the structure of the novel as a whole. To do this, she abruptly inserts the word conversely (43), and continues with a long backward list. Life will turn out to be death; beauty will become ugliness, and so on, she says (43). In this backwards list, good outsides cloak bad insides. • 28. Speech On Building Muscle As you are probably already well aware, building muscle is not an easy task, and it is certainly not just something that can happen in a matter of days, weeks, or possibly even months for that matter. In order to build muscle and get your body into shape, you will need to completely change your lifestyle and make a considerable amount of changes, not only to your diet, but also to your training and exercise regimes in the process. People looking in from the outside tend to think of bodybuildingas nothing more than a hobby in which bodybuilders head to the gym a couple of times per week, eat plenty of eggs and chicken, chug down protein shakes, and spend the rest of their time relaxing and unwinding. These groups, when formed right, are highly organized and have a definite agenda they are trying to push that is important to them. Interest groups will lobby in congress as well as other levels of government to get new laws and regulations passed. In recent elections on the congressional level as well as for President we see the growing influences of interest groups in the form of PAC s and Super PAC s to back candidates. • 31. The Economic Benefits Of Economic Welfare Essay Economic welfare is defined as the well being or standard of living of an individual or individuals taking part in an economy (Business Dictionary, 2015). This can be measured through statistics such as individual income, health care expense, educational achievement and opportunity for economic growth. The better one fares among these categories, the more likely one is to have a higher standard of living and possess an inherent socio economic advantage. Currently, the aboriginal population scores poorly across all of these standards. Despite governmentincentives, the average indigenous person is born into an economic disadvantage with little room for vertical movement, indicating a need for major social and legislative change. Among the aboriginal population in 2005, 18.7% of individuals living with family were below the poverty line. Unattached, or single, individuals were even more likely to fall into this low income bracket at 42.8%. Conversely, these rates among the non aboriginal population were 8.4% and 28.0% respectively (Collin Jensen, 2009). These numbers highlight the economic disparity Aboriginals face, the cause of which lies rooted in their historical mistreatment. To better understand the situation today and how it came to be, one must begin by looking at early Canadian policy involving Aboriginals. Lazarus HIS 102 W1: Western Civilization II 10/25/2017 Machiavelli The Father of Modern Political Thought There are many reasons why Machiavelli is widely considered the beginner of modern political thought, one of the many is he studied strictly the politicians, and businessmen. Machiavelli recognized the political playing field as a vile place only for the most dominating and cunning of political giants. One of Machiavelli s most famous work, On Principalities, or known by the other title, The Prince, absolutely announced a break with previous political beliefs secured between moral and religion system, it examines the nature of his views on power that are still somewhat in existent today. Machiavelli discusses in this work power over the people, oppressive power, and shared power. Machiavelli discusses two specific groups of people such as the political elite and the general public within this work. While Machiavelli highlighted power over in relations between the political elite, he examines a different kind of power in the affiliation between a prince and his public. Machiavelli noted that he can share his power with his people, since he can trust his people more than he can the nobles. The nobles cannot be satisfied if their ruler acts honorably, because their desires are more ethical than the nobles are. The people are more forgiving and less greedy so he can place more trust in his people and empower his trusting public. Though the public may be more trustworthy Machiavelli also stated that a prince needed to be harsh in the treatment of both the mixed sectors and the new sectors to avoid rebellions, the prince must be harsh and cautious. It is easier for a prince to hold control after he has already stopped a rebellion by empowering his power. Once the prince takes control of the city, he cannot forget it, for his control can be easily lost. Without order within his own court let alone his public, the prince would soon fall and possible lose his control over everything. More or less how the prince started at the bottom and slowly made his way to becoming a great king or he died at the feet of his people or someone of higher power before reaching ...
