Who Is Daisy Ridley s Character In The Force Awakens
When Star Wars Episode 8 star Daisy Ridley portrayed Rey in The Force Awakens, no one would have
expected for the actress to be criticized for her appearance.
I will not apologize for how I look, Daisy Ridley says. This issue came about after an Instagram user
accused the British actress for setting unrealistic expectations for young people by being too thin,
according to ET.
The blockbuster star was trolled with a meme of Ridley s character in The Force Awakens. The body
shaming meme also had a speech bubble that reads: I can t believe the unrealistic expectations I m
setting for young girls. Who cast me anyway? Don t they know real women haves curves?
The Londoner would not have any of that and responded directly to the user: Real women are all
shapes and sizes, all ethnicities, all levels of brave, have families, don t have families. I am a real

The Draft Of The Vietnam Draft Lottery

The Vietnam Draft Lottery
Starting in the 1960s, the Cold War began to create problems for the United States. The United States
adopted the Domino Theory, which stated that if one country fell to Communism than other countries
in the region would follow. American foreign policy was largely centered around this idea and once
Northern and Southern Vietnam fell into conflict, the United States became fearful that Communism
would spread throughout Asia. The United States needed to send troops into Vietnam, but many
people opposed the war efforts and did not want to fight. This created a collective action problem that
the government needed to handle. Citizens wanted to have a military that would protect them and fight
for their country, however many people rather free ride and benefit from the military without directly
contributing to it. Through the original draft system, white males from high income families were less
likely to be drafted then men who came from minority backgrounds. This is because they took steps
that would qualify themselves for a deferment and excused them from fighting in the war. The United
States Government eventually had to enforce the draft more effectively and create a fair system. This
new system, called the Draft Lottery, aimed to fix these problems. The change in conscription
regulations serves as a collective action problem in United States History because the original format
that citizens were drafted by led the

Analysis Of The Mood For Love
Love is beautiful, it s breathtaking, it s heartbreaking. In the Mood for Love brilliantly emphasizes the
many faces of love, and what the film lacks in dialogue it compensates with its visual language. The
film introduces us to suave newspaper editor Chow Mo Wan and the elegant Mrs. Chan who have
moved into neighboring apartments with their respective spouses. Their spouses are often away on
business trips leaving the two alone but it doesn t take long for them to realize these trips have been
home to a cruel affair. Mr. Chow and Mrs. Chan find comfort in one another by mimicking the other s
spouse to investigate how and why the affair might have begun. However, the reenactment quickly
becomes reality as the two unexpectedly fall in love. Unfortunately, they can never pursue this
romance because doing so would make them no better than those who had caused them such pain and
loss. Director Wong Kar Wai immerses us into this world of loneliness, pain and forbidden love
creating beautiful cinematography reflected through camera work, décor, WORDSKLSDKAJSKD
This sequence occurs halfway through the movie immediately following a brief conversation between
Mrs. Chan and Mr. Chow. In shot 1, the camera is behind Mrs. Chan like usual and displays a long,
narrow, dimly lit corridor painted red and dressed in velvet curtains. She walks away from the closed
door wearing a slim, red coat and black heels. Mrs. Chan slowly walks toward the end of the hall as

Social Events In Colonial America
Social events differed between the working and middle class. The types of social events one went or
where they sat in a social event determined their wealth and place in the social structure. Just like the
movies and television shows you may watch, the theatres in North America incorporate the same idea.
The people on the television are acting out a script like the people in stage in a theatre hall are acting
out a play. Theatres were popular among the middle and upper class people. The hall was where
people were able to proclaim their wealth and availability. By the end of the 18th century Canadian
theatre was growing rapidly and developing all over the region. A resemblance of Europe, the British

The theatre consisted of 1000 seats and two levels of boxes. The theatre costed $30,000 to build. Like
the museum you are standing in, around the 19th century many museums began to appear. The
Museum of Natural History was established in 1842 by Abraham Gesner. The museums and theatres
promotes civic and culture value within the colonies. The recreational time of middle class people was
often spent at the theatres and museums. Now think of your favourite drink to have in public. Is it
soda, a milkshake, juice? In addition, think of your a public place to drink. This is the idea of a tavern
in the 19th century. It was a lodge in people could stop and have an alcoholic beverage and food.
Public pub houses or taverns were popular among the working class. Taverns could serve as resting
places for the traveling, town meetings, coroner s inquests, and political meetings. Taverns were part
of the everyday home and work routine. Taverns services included food, lodging, and alcohol. The
tavern was a common place for people to spend their time, their would tell stories, play cards, and

Comparison And Cons Of Science Fiction
Whether is it Michael Bay s signature explosion scenes or Quentin Tarantino s way of expressing his
thrilling movies, you cannot deny that everyone enjoys watching movies. Let it be Action, Comedy,
Sci Fi, Animated or even plain old classic films. Talking about genre, Fiction, in literature terms,
refers to a class that comprises works of imaginative narration ( Fiction n.d.,), basically things which
are not real and true. Science fiction on the other hand, is the sub genre of fiction in which the movie
illustrates the science and technology of the future. It is noted that science fiction has a relationship
with the principles of science, meaning that the story usually involves partially true partially fictitious
laws and theories of science. Plots of science fiction would usually create scenes and environments
that are set in the future. ( Definition of Science Fiction , n.d.). These ... Show more content on

new super power strength and ability which he obtained from a genetically modified spider s bite. As

Social Hierarchy And The Twisted Lip
Social Hierarchy and The Establishment of Identity:
The Man with the Twisted Lip
The short story by Doyle, The Man with the Twisted Lip, is based on disguises of wealth and
appearance and how these disguises change the point of view that people have in the social classes and
what they think about each other during the Victorian Era. Disguises can be used to create an identity
for one s own personal gain or to protect an individual s identity. Neville St. Claire uses disguise to
validate his place as a gentleman. His status as a beggar allows him to become the successful
gentleman that he should be, by concealing his true self to the social class system. Sherlock Holmes
uses his persona as a protection to keep the people of London safe and out of harms way. Between the
two personalities of St. Claire and Holmes is the outcome of what others may think of them; St. Claire
knows the identity that he has created is not accepted by the social class while Sherlock Holmes
identity is seen as a hero and is accepted by the social class. One uses his disguise purely for monetary
gain and the other uses the identity in order to solve mysteries and protect his city. As shown in the
The Man with the Twisted Lip , disguise is only allowed when the social class accepts the identity.
Despite the fact that St. Claire and Holmes created new identities through disguise, St. Claire is
shamed of his identity while Holmes is respected. Both disguises have various goals. St. Claire hides

Theodore Roethke s Life And Life

Theodore Roethke
Theodore Roethke was born in Saginaw, Michigan on May 25, 1908 to Otto Roethke and Helen
Huebner. Along with uncle, his mother and father owned a local greenhouse, where Roethke spent a
lot of his childhood days working and playing. He referred to the greenhouse as my symbol for the
whole of life, a womb, a heaven on earth ( ). The greenhouse played a huge role in his poetry. Roethke
implies that only after death of the self can people come to realize the true purpose of life, love.
Roethke always had stored in the back of his mind the idea that personal selves were not the focus of
time on earth ( ). Therefore, people must experience the death of their selves before they can truly live.
This idea begins the poem Frau Bauman, Frau Schmidt, and Frau Schwartze, which begins with the
word Gone. Therefore, the poem begins with death although it is essentially a poem about childhood
and the birth of life. The poem suggests lost integrity, and the three ancient ladies, are main figures in
his memory and symbols of myth in his imagination (Balakian 53). For Roethke, the three women are
concurrently nurturers of life in the greenhouse and muses who symbolize the awareness of his
creative personality, encouraging the force of his imagination and bringing him to a recognition of his
gift and calling (Balakian 61). In his poem Root Cellar, Roethke focuses on plant roots that have the

The Collapse Of Enron Corporation
Introduction:
The abrupt and unanticipated collapse of Enron Corporation was due to one of the largest accounting
frauds in U.S. history. This scandal had significant impact on the financial markets by causing
enormous financial losses for numerous investors. Before filing for Chapter 11 reorganization
bankruptcy protection in December of 2001, Enron was named the Most Innovative Company in
America by Fortune Magazine from 1996 to 2001, and also named first in 1999 on its list of the 100
Best Companies to Work For in America (McLean Elkind, 2006). For many years, this Houston based
energy company was widely regarded as a fast growing, well managed, and prosperous organization.
However, after years of manipulating accounting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In other words, Enron went from concentrating on the energy market to brokering future energy
contracts and exploring other ways to make money.
One of the ways Enron tried to make more capital was to act as an intermediary that would pledge for
stable prices. In 1990, Jeff Skilling, a Harvard graduate, joined the company and ran an innovative,
differentiation strategy called Gas Bank (Thomas, 2002). Basically, the plan entailed Enron
purchasing natural gas from suppliers and selling it to customers. This strategy allowed the company
to guarantee both the price and needed supply while also charging fees for typical risks associated
with the business model. From the success of that energy derivative concept, Enron expanded it to bet
against the risk of price fluctuation for other commodities, such as: coal, steel, water, power
generation, and, around the dot.com boom, offered fiber optic cable (Healey Palepu, 2003). This
decision to expand its trading option is the reason why many credited it as being an innovative
organization. Another key factor to its early success was Enron s change in accounting systems. The
company had previously been using a straightforward system that would just list actual profits and the
expenses for supplying and distributing the gas to consumers. Skilling spearheaded the transition to a
new method called mark to market (Fox, 2004). This accounting system allows Enron

The Clinical Evolution Of HBV
Introduction
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) remains a major public health problem worldwide that accounts for
significant morbidity and mortality. About one third of the world s population have serological

competition with prizes to be won.
At times there are brilliant live outdoors concerts, with the local students performing the traditional
UAE dances and dedicating poetry to the day. This is sometimes ended with fasinating fireworks or
laser displays.
The history and significance
Not long ago, the UAE was a land of desert inhabited by proud and resourceful nomadic Bedouin
tribes, fishing villages and date farms. Abu Dhabi consisted of several hundred palm huts (barasti)
huts, a few coral buildings and the Ruler s Fort. Situated along the creek, Dubai was a trading hub,
providing a safe haven before the Straits of Hormuz and beyond. Life today in the Emirates bears little
resemblance to that of 40 years ago.
Parts of the UAE were settled as far back as the 3rd millennium BC and its early history fits the
nomadic, herding and fishing pattern typical of the broader region. The Bedouin tribe was the
principal building block of UAE society. Bedouin, which means desert dweller, lived in varied terrain
moving between the ocean (where pearl diving and fishing were the main forms of sustenance), the

The Importance Of Multicultural Communication
With the increased proliferation of organizational settings across many industries, businesses and the
staff members need a more complex understanding of intercultural communication. With that in mind,
it is also important that businesses and their employees engage in an intercultural communication
evaluation and make serious adjustments to address the needs of both the consumers and the
producers. As a result, businesses can elaboratively work toward a future of multicultural connection
and free from stereotypes and discrimination. To support this collaboration, three prestige industries
around the world have been chosen. The three industries Iberdrola, Energia De Portugal, and AES
Corporation will help to make a beneficial impact on different cultural populations with an addition of

TEACHERING LEARNING BASED OPTIMIZATION (TLBO)
3.1 Teaching Learning Based Optimization: An overview
Teaching learning based optimization (TLBO) is a newly introduced by R.V. Rao in NIT surat. It is an
evolutionary optimization algorithm that inspired from teaching learning phenomenon of a classroom.
It is a novel population based algorithm with faster convergence speed without any algorithm specific
parameters. In TLBO each potential problem is treated as a learner with certain knowledge. The
TLBO consist of two phases Teacher phase and Learner phase, in both phases learner improves their
knowledge from teacher (in teacher phase) and also from classmates (in learner phase).
In section 3.2 Teacher learning based optimization is described, Section 3.3 discusses the Teacher
learning based optimization, Section 3.4 describes the flow of Teacher learning based optimization

Skipping meals such as breakfast can have a domino effect. Some people believe that if you skip a

(http://www.humankinetics.com/excerpts/excerpts/skipping meals can have negative consequences).
This could lead to an extra calorie intake. Also when Hugh skips a meal he is depriving his body of

him less motivation to exercise (http://www.thedailymeal.com/cook/6 reasons you shouldn t skip

Hugh cooks extra food that consists of healthy foods such as vegetables, grilled lean fat meats, and
whole grains the night before work and then make him a plate for work. This would help prevent
Hugh from eating fast food on his lunch break, and still not be inconvenient. One of the other big

stresses that all people are different. Something that may make someone feel upset can make another
happy. Kant then continues to talk about the feeling of the sublime and beautiful. He uses examples to
display his opinions. First he begins to talk about the sight of mountains along with raging storms in
which beautiful things enjoyment can be seen as well as horror. On the other hand we can look at
grazing flocks and Homers portrayal of the girdle of Venus. Kant sees those through as a pleasant
sensation with joy and smiling. You can see that the difference is that certain beautiful situations can
be seen as horror. Kant says that sublime must always be great. It must be simple but the beautiful can
be adorned and ornamented. From the reading I can conclude that Kant strived to get his

The Country Of Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico is an island that is impacted by not having enough land for cultivation. The Three
thousand four hundred and ninety two square miles of this island is about seventy five percent hills or
mountains (Worldmark Encyclopedia of the States b). With the large amount of land consisting of hill
or mountains, Puerto Rico has limited amounts of natural resources. While under Spanish colonial
rule, the island was largely neglected because of its limited mineral resources. Following the Spanish
American war in 1898, the U.S. took over control of the island. The U.S. found itself in control of an
island that produced small scale amounts of sugar and coffee. The U.S would then expand the
sugarcane operations and establish markets to use as a viable trade resource.
I will be discussing how the country of Puerto Rico s impact of resource scarcity, issues with
boundary delineation, separatism and sovereignty issues, poverty, migration, legacies of colonialism
and imperialism, global climate change and its impact. The once poor nation of Puerto Rico now
seems to be a stepping stone for trading in the Caribbean. With its location in the Caribbean, Puerto
Rico is a major asset for shipping lanes. One of the main reasons the U.S. wanted to take over this
land. Its geographical location is important in helping to move resources around the world, as well as
keeping an eye on Cuba. The economic system of

Gloalization and Its Effect on Non- Western Cultures
What is globalization and what affect does this have on Non Western cultures? Merrim Websters
dictionary defines globalization as, the development of an increasingly integrated global economy
marked especially by free trade, free flow of capital, and the tapping of cheaper foreign labor markets
. When identifying the pieces of globalization, outsourcing may be the first thing that comes to mind.
However, globalization and modernization are larger than outsourcing alone. In this paper we will
look at two separate examples of native non western cultures that have been impacted by globalization
and further analyze one of these two examples. (Merriam Webster)

According to the U.S. State Department (2012), India s population is estimated at more than 1.1
billion and is growing at 1.3% annually. India has the world s 12th largest economy with the third
largest in Asia behind Japan and China . The improvement in India s economy was influenced in part
by encouragement from the World Trade Organization, which aided in negotiating a decrease in
import taxes; allowing India to function from a healthier position economically. This move
momentously changed India s ability to offer goods and services. (U.S. Department of State)
The culture in India, prior to its economic conversion, was vastly different. Historically, Indians were
religious, spiritual, and possessed a strong value system with profound ties to family and social
structure. The globalization movement brought a vast culture shift, Sarabu (2011), reported that,
Access to television grew from 10% of the urban population (1991) to 75% of the urban population
(1999). Cable television and foreign films became broadly available in India for the first time. This
event was a catalyst in pushing through the cultural boundaries . The increased access to view Western
cultures seemed like a direct portal via cable television. The steady change in the values being
exhibited by the new generation of Indians is in direct collaboration with being able to directly view
other cultures

Anne Hutchinson And The Puritan Movement
Anne Hutchinson was a religious leader who was born in England in 1951. She was killed in 1643 in
an Indian raid killing in the state of New York which wss in the colony of Mid Atlantic. Anne
Hutchinson fought for women s rights and she gave many girls and women hope that they might have
rights again as shown by this quote, From the early Christian era, female activism in religious life
gave some women high visibility, thus preserving their voices in the historical record. The splintering
of the Puritan movement in seventeenth century England gave women broader scope for leadership as
lay preachers, visionaries, and petitioners. ( History.Com ). This quote showed that Hutchinson was

She was a leading figure in the fight for religious tolerance in Massachusetts. After being banished,
she fled to Rhode Island where she helped establish religious tolerance in that colony. ( E notes, The
scarlet letter ) This quote says that she moved to Rhode Island after she got banished and she was
doing the same thing in Rhode Island and showing other people her views and what she believed in.
Anne had meetings at her house every sunday with only ladies, so that she could share with them how
she felt and the way she thought that her theological beliefs could come true and have women have
rights. After Anne got banished from Massachusetts Bay Colony she came to New York and she later
got killed by six Indian men.
Hutchinson was not only famous for her religious beliefs and fighting for them but she was also
famous for the way John Winthrop portrayed her in his journals that he wrote. The way that John
Winthrop portrayed her in he diaries made it sound as if she was a legend and that is the way that
many people saw her after that, many people thought that she was invincible and that she could not be
stopped at what she believed in. This quote I found showed that many people respected her and what
she thought To 19th century America, she was a crusader for religious

Comparing Henry VIII s Government in 1509 to 1514 to His Father s
From the transition of Old king to Young king we can assume there will be lots of differences in the
personalities between Henry VII and Henry VIII, these differences are what makes Henry VIII s
policies and government different to that of his father. Henry s personality was quite amazing, his
intelligence, learning and curiosity impressed the ambassadors who littered his court, and his thirst for
knowledge was insatiable. Like his father, he was caught in the transition from medieval England to
renaissance England. And like his father, he was well versed in English history and desperate to
continue the Tudor dynasty, to secure his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He rewarded some nobility through Patronage, doing favors for others, usually titles and things which
were free to give rather than his precious land. He created the order of the Garter and elected the
important nobility to join his council.
Henry VIII treated the Nobility rather differently, the first thing he did was to imprison and order the
death of Empson and Dudley, two figures hated by the nobility in order to show he was on the
nobilities side and so that he would hopefully gain support from them. Through Henry VII s time he
never seemed to do anything which benefited the Nobility and Henry VIII wanted to clean the slate
and begin new relations with the important and possibly useful people during his reign.
Henry VII introduced the Acts of Attainder during his reign, a means of money and land confiscation
without legal means and courts, during his reign there were 138 Acts of attainder, however this
number was greatly reduced when Henry VIII became King.
Both Henry VII and his son wanted control over the Nobility, they achieved this in different ways,
Henry VII did this through bullying them and policing them to do the right thing, Henry VIII had a
less tough stance on them, and especially during the beginning of his reign as he

Hr Talent Managment
Talent management is quickly becoming a top preference for companies all over the world. (Bhatnagar
2008). The reasoning to this is due to the surge in rivalry between businesses to capture the talent that
is available, we call this the war for talent (Beardwell and Thompson, 2014). Talent management
refers to the best suited people or individuals to the occupation in question, sometimes assigned A
players . In the past the disorganisation of talent management has led to the breakdown of large
multinational companies, who rectify the problem by turning over more and more talent which
inevitably makes the problem worse, causing it to fail and an overall sense of pain is inflicted upon the
companies. (Cappelli, 2008). However nowadays ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the case of Cedar Park Furniture will look for a combination of staff from inside and outside the
business.
Firstly we can look internally, the company could resource store managers from other locations and
enrol them in the new stores. This is an effective strategy as the company is giving the employees the
opportunity to develop and move up the ladder, it also is much more cost efficient. Externally it is
probably best for the company to hire the floor staff, although it comes as a cost default, the company
can then develop, invest and motivate these workers in their own unique way.
Principle 2:
Another key practice that Cedar Park Furniture should take on board in the regards of adopting a
strategic approach to talent management, is to adapt to the uncertainty that staff may move on. To
combat this the company should break up its recruitment system, hire employees in bundles not in
mass amounts (Beardwell and Thompson, 2014).Therefore Cedar Park should relocate some of its
staff from the UK and disperse then among the new shops. This helps to create a broad talent pool that
can be allocated among a wide range of business systems. The production of portfolios is another way
in which the senior management deals with the unprecedented leave of experienced staff (Beardwell
and Thompson, 2014). Floor staff will be trained in diverse roles so the store can adapt if this sort of a
situation arises.
Principle 3:
It is important that the company require

Complications of IVF
About 16% of heterosexual couples ages 18 44 are experiencing infertility. Indeed, it is seen in
previous studies that the older the woman the higher the rate of infertility, but recent studies have
indicated that couples ages 19 29 the rate of infertility has increased in a range from 7% to 13.7%. In
addition, infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after a whole year of intercourse without the
use of contraception. Infertility has a very high emotional impact on couples. According to Sher, Davis
and Stoess (2005) When asked what they considered to be a primary problem in their lives, almost 80
percent of the couples replied that it was their inability to conceive. It usually causes emotional pain
amongst couples. Some methods usually used to treat infertility include counseling, surgery to repair
any anatomical damage and drugs to help with ovulation and sperm function. (Sher et al., 2005)The
last poplar method usually used in North America is known as in vitro fertilization (IVF). IVF is a
process whereas the egg(s) are fertilized outside of a woman s body. When the procedure is successful,
the zygote(s) are placed in the uterus. IVF does have its advantages for woman under the maternal age
but it also has a serious risk associated with going through with the process. IVF increases the chance
of multiple births, ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome and ectopic pregnancy. Multiple births is a
result of more than one zygote being present in a woman s uterus

The United States Involvement in the Korean War
Communism has been a global problem for decades, and has caused a wide array of issues. The Soviet
Union and China were the main Communist threats post World War II. The Soviets were the biggest
threat, without their influence, China would not have become a Communist nation. North Korea was
supported by the Soviet Union after the Japanese lost World War II. They adopted a Communist
government called the Democratic People s Republic of Korea and was ruled under Kim Il sung.
North Korea invaded South Korea, an authoritarian country, which drew involvement from the United
States, and in general, the United Nations. US involvement in Korea is debatebly because of the rising
threat of global Communism and the attempt of North Korea taking South Korea.
North and South Korea hosted a raging battle that involved a lot more than just the two countries.
North Korea before 1950 was occupied by Japanese imperialists. After the Japanese lost World War II,
The Soviet Union occupied the region north of the 38th parallel. They underwent a Communist
government called the Democratic People s Republic of Korea (North Korea Wikipedia.org 5). In June
of 1950, the poorly influenced North Korea invaded the 38th parallel into the south, starting the
Korean War. By July, the United States had become involved on the south s behalf. Although it was to
prevent one country from imperializing another, the war was more generally seen by the United States

killed all the Natives, they got afraid of each other, burned witches, and killed the British in the

Sculpture: 1 Gothic figure: was firmly attached to structural engineering, since it was utilized
fundamentally to embellish the outsides of basilicas and different religious structures. The most
punctual Gothic models were stone figures of holy people and the Holy Family used to enhance the
entryways, or gateways, of houses of God in France and somewhere else. The models on the Royal
Portal of Chartres Cathedral (c. 1145 55) were minimal transformed from their Romanesque

Comparison Of Drummer Hodge And I Look Into My Glass By...
Thomas Hardy was a poet and novelist from the 19th century. He was born in June 1840, and he had
wrote over 800 poems in his lifetime, a lot of which were published in his latter years. I am going to
compare and contrast two of his poems: Drummer hodge and I Look into my glass.
Drummer Hodge is a poem about a young man who tragically lost his life in the Boer war. Hardy
heard news about the death of the young drummer who was from Dorchester in wessex (the region
that Hardy most commonly wrote about) The drummers in the war could often be as young as thirteen
or fourteen, as they would be dishonest about their age to the recruitment officers. Hodge is not the
drummer s name; it was often a nickname given to agricultural workers at this period ... Show more

Both poems use the abab structure, have three stanzas and concentrate on the theme of death. Whilst
the poem of Drummer hodge has the backdrop of a huge landscape, I look into my glass portrays the
sufferings of a melancholy man who is writing in self pity. The language differs a lot between the two
pems as Drummer Hodge is a external pem that can easily be imagined however I look into my glass
is not only internalised it is introverted. Hodge himself wouldnt of wanted to die so young while
Hardy felt he had lived his life and wanted it to come to an end, this displays a huge contrast between
the poems. In I look into my glass the coldness of other people s hearts is emphasised by the
assonance of grown cold and then lonely in the next line. It also underlines Hardy s grieving with the
words steals and eve . Assonance cannot be found in Drummer Hodge as I believe he is telling a story
while in I look into my glass he truly wants sympathy for himself from the

How To Avoid Blanket Exclusions
Blanket Exclusions
The second key to success in the Texas employment law project is to eliminate blanket exclusions.
Avoiding blanket exclusions is when an employer uses specific terms such as may not have prior
conviction or must pass background check . Most employers automatically exclude applicants on the
basis of having a criminal history. It may be mandatory for some employer s to require a background
check due to a specific job position, such as working with children. We often see that these blanket
exclusions are used to discriminate against people with records. Employers should not ask about
convictions on job applications. Convictions should only be used to exclude certain job related
positions. Employers exclude applicants who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An estimated twelve million Texans have a criminal record that will show up on a routine background
check. (CITE?) This creates a huge problem for a person that carries a record. The African American
and Mexican community has been affected the hardest due to over criminalization. Many negative
consequences flow from a criminal history, causing conflicts in a person s life. When a person is
released from jail or prison it is hard for them to gain fair housing, employment, government benefits,
and other resources necessary for having a productive life, often leading a person with a record back
to criminal activity. Employment is the most important influence for decreasing recidivism. When we
remove the barriers that prevent those with records from gaining proper employment, we can give a
fair chance to anyone that fills out an application. Across the United States, more than 70 cities and
counties, and numerous private businesses have embraced the opportunity to provide fair chances
during the hiring process by removing the question on initial job applications asking about an
applicant s criminal record history (CITE?). A fair chance hiring policy would still allow for
employers to perform background checks and discuss criminal record

What is Laparoscopic Surgery?
Laparoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that uses a laparoscope to diagnose,
treat and perform various types of surgeries on many medical disorders. Laparoscopic surgery is also
known as Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS), keyhole surgery, band aid surgery among other names.
This technique consists of making very few and minute incisions far from the affected area to insert a
laparoscope into the body. The main part of this surgery is the use of laparoscope which is a length of

In the Robotic minimally invasive surgical procedure the surgeon uses two master controls to operate
four robotic limbs. The surgeon operates from a distance with the help of a video console that provides

robotic laparoscopic surgery is that it can be used to perform surgical procedures from a remote
location without the surgeon s presence in the operating room.
Gynecology Laparoscopy
Gynecology laparoscopy procedures are the new alternative to conventional gynecology surgery. The
doctor will be able to do a better diagnosis with a laparoscope camera to determine the location and
extent of the disorder. This procedure also has miniature surgical instruments that allow the surgeon to
perform the required procedure.
Laparoscopic gynecology surgery can be used to perform delicate surgical procedures such as ovarian

Challenges 30 day ABS, or 45 day squat. I even found a plank challenge for that lower ab section. I
think this is the best free restart exercise. Although it s meant to be a competition, its really about
motivating your self. I have done a few of these and sometimes I make it to the end, and sometimes I
make it to day 25. The point is to workout, and if you re very competitive this will help with your
desire to win. Find a horrible opponent, make the challenge, bet them and feel proud of working out at
the same time.
Dancing Pole Fitness is my favorite, but dancing is something I can do free without no worries. I love
to dance. I know that I m going to feel a sweet but it s something I enjoy doing without needing
anyone to push me. I can simply get dressed up to go to a party and get my groove on, or put on one of

  • 2. Who Is Daisy Ridley s Character In The Force Awakens When Star Wars Episode 8 star Daisy Ridley portrayed Rey in The Force Awakens, no one would have expected for the actress to be criticized for her appearance. I will not apologize for how I look, Daisy Ridley says. This issue came about after an Instagram user accused the British actress for setting unrealistic expectations for young people by being too thin, according to ET. The blockbuster star was trolled with a meme of Ridley s character in The Force Awakens. The body shaming meme also had a speech bubble that reads: I can t believe the unrealistic expectations I m setting for young girls. Who cast me anyway? Don t they know real women haves curves? The Londoner would not have any of that and responded directly to the user: Real women are all shapes and sizes, all ethnicities, all levels of brave, have families, don t have families. • 3. The Draft Of The Vietnam Draft Lottery Ariana Stone PLSC 111 4/30/15 The Vietnam Draft Lottery Starting in the 1960s, the Cold War began to create problems for the United States. The United States adopted the Domino Theory, which stated that if one country fell to Communism than other countries in the region would follow. American foreign policy was largely centered around this idea and once Northern and Southern Vietnam fell into conflict, the United States became fearful that Communism would spread throughout Asia. The United States needed to send troops into Vietnam, but many people opposed the war efforts and did not want to fight. This created a collective action problem that the government needed to handle. Citizens wanted to have a military that would protect them and fight for their country, however many people rather free ride and benefit from the military without directly contributing to it. Through the original draft system, white males from high income families were less likely to be drafted then men who came from minority backgrounds. This is because they took steps that would qualify themselves for a deferment and excused them from fighting in the war. The United States Government eventually had to enforce the draft more effectively and create a fair system. This new system, called the Draft Lottery, aimed to fix these problems. The change in conscription regulations serves as a collective action problem in United States History because the original format that citizens were drafted by led the ... In the Mood for Love brilliantly emphasizes the many faces of love, and what the film lacks in dialogue it compensates with its visual language. Their spouses are often away on business trips leaving the two alone but it doesn t take long for them to realize these trips have been home to a cruel affair. Mr. Chow and Mrs. Chan find comfort in one another by mimicking the other s spouse to investigate how and why the affair might have begun. However, the reenactment quickly becomes reality as the two unexpectedly fall in love. Unfortunately, they can never pursue this romance because doing so would make them no better than those who had caused them such pain and loss. Director Wong Kar Wai immerses us into this world of loneliness, pain and forbidden love creating beautiful cinematography reflected through camera work, décor, WORDSKLSDKAJSKD This sequence occurs halfway through the movie immediately following a brief conversation between Mrs. Chan and Mr. Chow. In shot 1, the camera is behind Mrs. Chan like usual and displays a long, narrow, dimly lit corridor painted red and dressed in velvet curtains. The types of social events one went or where they sat in a social event determined their wealth and place in the social structure. The people on the television are acting out a script like the people in stage in a theatre hall are acting out a play. Theatres were popular among the middle and upper class people. • 7. Social Hierarchy And The Twisted Lip Social Hierarchy and The Establishment of Identity: The Man with the Twisted Lip The short story by Doyle, The Man with the Twisted Lip, is based on disguises of wealth and appearance and how these disguises change the point of view that people have in the social classes and what they think about each other during the Victorian Era. Disguises can be used to create an identity for one s own personal gain or to protect an individual s identity. Neville St. Claire uses disguise to validate his place as a gentleman. His status as a beggar allows him to become the successful gentleman that he should be, by concealing his true self to the social class system. Sherlock Holmes uses his persona as a protection to keep the people of London safe and out of harms way. Between the two personalities of St. Claire and Holmes is the outcome of what others may think of them; St. Claire knows the identity that he has created is not accepted by the social class while Sherlock Holmes identity is seen as a hero and is accepted by the social class. One uses his disguise purely for monetary gain and the other uses the identity in order to solve mysteries and protect his city. As shown in the The Man with the Twisted Lip , disguise is only allowed when the social class accepts the identity. Despite the fact that St. Claire and Holmes created new identities through disguise, St. Claire is shamed of his identity while Holmes is respected. Both disguises have various goals. • 8. Theodore Roethke s Life And Life Dr. S. Papleacos ENG 202 July 31, 2015 Theodore Roethke Theodore Roethke was born in Saginaw, Michigan on May 25, 1908 to Otto Roethke and Helen Huebner. Along with uncle, his mother and father owned a local greenhouse, where Roethke spent a lot of his childhood days working and playing. He referred to the greenhouse as my symbol for the whole of life, a womb, a heaven on earth ( ). The greenhouse played a huge role in his poetry. Roethke implies that only after death of the self can people come to realize the true purpose of life, love. Roethke always had stored in the back of his mind the idea that personal selves were not the focus of time on earth ( ). Therefore, people must experience the death of their selves before they can truly live. This idea begins the poem Frau Bauman, Frau Schmidt, and Frau Schwartze, which begins with the word Gone. Therefore, the poem begins with death although it is essentially a poem about childhood and the birth of life. The poem suggests lost integrity, and the three ancient ladies, are main figures in his memory and symbols of myth in his imagination (Balakian 53). For Roethke, the three women are concurrently nurturers of life in the greenhouse and muses who symbolize the awareness of his creative personality, encouraging the force of his imagination and bringing him to a recognition of his gift and calling (Balakian 61). This scandal had significant impact on the financial markets by causing enormous financial losses for numerous investors. Before filing for Chapter 11 reorganization bankruptcy protection in December of 2001, Enron was named the Most Innovative Company in America by Fortune Magazine from 1996 to 2001, and also named first in 1999 on its list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For in America (McLean Elkind, 2006). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In other words, Enron went from concentrating on the energy market to brokering future energy contracts and exploring other ways to make money. One of the ways Enron tried to make more capital was to act as an intermediary that would pledge for stable prices. In 1990, Jeff Skilling, a Harvard graduate, joined the company and ran an innovative, differentiation strategy called Gas Bank (Thomas, 2002). Basically, the plan entailed Enron purchasing natural gas from suppliers and selling it to customers. This strategy allowed the company to guarantee both the price and needed supply while also charging fees for typical risks associated with the business model. From the success of that energy derivative concept, Enron expanded it to bet against the risk of price fluctuation for other commodities, such as: coal, steel, water, power generation, and, around the dot.com boom, offered fiber optic cable (Healey Palepu, 2003). This decision to expand its trading option is the reason why many credited it as being an innovative organization. Another key factor to its early success was Enron s change in accounting systems. The company had previously been using a straightforward system that would just list actual profits and the expenses for supplying and distributing the gas to consumers. Skilling spearheaded the transition to a new method called mark to market (Fox, 2004). This accounting system allows Enron ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He stresses that all people are different. Something that may make someone feel upset can make another happy. Kant then continues to talk about the feeling of the sublime and beautiful. He uses examples to display his opinions. First he begins to talk about the sight of mountains along with raging storms in which beautiful things enjoyment can be seen as well as horror. On the other hand we can look at grazing flocks and Homers portrayal of the girdle of Venus. Kant sees those through as a pleasant sensation with joy and smiling. You can see that the difference is that certain beautiful situations can be seen as horror. Kant says that sublime must always be great. It must be simple but the beautiful can be adorned and ornamented. From the reading I can conclude that Kant strived to get his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the past the disorganisation of talent management has led to the breakdown of large multinational companies, who rectify the problem by turning over more and more talent which inevitably makes the problem worse, causing it to fail and an overall sense of pain is inflicted upon the companies. Firstly we can look internally, the company could resource store managers from other locations and enrol them in the new stores. Externally it is probably best for the company to hire the floor staff, although it comes as a cost default, the company can then develop, invest and motivate these workers in their own unique way. Principle 2: Another key practice that Cedar Park Furniture should take on board in the regards of adopting a strategic approach to talent management, is to adapt to the uncertainty that staff may move on. I am going to compare and contrast two of his poems: Drummer hodge and I Look into my glass. Drummer Hodge is a poem about a young man who tragically lost his life in the Boer war. Hardy heard news about the death of the young drummer who was from Dorchester in wessex (the region that Hardy most commonly wrote about) The drummers in the war could often be as young as thirteen or fourteen, as they would be dishonest about their age to the recruitment officers. When a person is released from jail or prison it is hard for them to gain fair housing, employment, government benefits, and other resources necessary for having a productive life, often leading a person with a record back to criminal activity. Employment is the most important influence for decreasing recidivism. • 35. Letter To Talien The two girls who walked out of the house several steps away from each other looked on the verge of having a hair pulling contest against one another. It was a surprise not to see a trail of blood behind both girls by the daggers each was throwing at the other with their eyes.
